Starting point is 00:00:24 Breakfast Club, bitches! I'm always nervous whenall do for the culture. Collectively known as Breakfast Club, bitches. I'm always nervous when I do the Breakfast Club because sometimes you say stuff and it's just going to get you drunk. Everybody wake up. Good morning, USA. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. Jess Hilarious. Hello. Charlamagne Tha God.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Peace to the planet. It's Thursday. Yes, it's Thursday. The weekend is almost here, damn it. We had to play that intro because I thought I was going to be running a little late. Charlamagne is a little late. And we didn't know if he was on time or not, so we just had the intro pulled up just in case. Yo, what is going on with everybody?
Starting point is 00:01:03 Yeah, so, you know, me, I had the, you know, they do the update on the iPhone. Yeah. So they what is going on with everybody yeah so you know me i had the you know they do the update on the iphone yeah so they did the updo the update on the iphone last night and when they did it they took out my alarm oh so i didn't usually i set the clock for like 4 4 15 just shut up oh he made it so this morning i made it for 452 so i was on time sir i don't know about yourself i was on time sir you have your settings you have your settings like automatically to update on your phone. Correct. You got to take that off.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Now I will. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So when I woke up this morning at 4.52, I got nervous. I'm like, oh, ish. I ain't going to make it on time. Yeah, I've seen you since I entered the group, but I didn't look at it because I was in a rush to. Yeah. Hi.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Well, good morning. Good morning, Charlamagne. Good morning. How are you? Are you trying to make it by that new iPhone 17? I don't know, but. It's not. The 16 didn't come out yet.
Starting point is 00:01:43 What's out now? They're still making the 15s. Oh, they're still 15s? They're making the 16s now, I guess. Whenever they give you these updates, your phone start acting up. Well, it did. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:01:54 Then you feel like you gotta buy a new one. It was probably the Eclipse, y'all. The Eclipse. Everybody blaming everything on the damn Eclipse. No, some of y'all just crazy and disgusting and terrible. Y'all need to go to therapy. You should have been started going to therapy oh yeah you had a bad dream last night what's up with you you all right you cool you know but the eclipse been like this
Starting point is 00:02:14 this i've been seeing a lot of sad stories that people thought the world was going to be over with the eclipse they were like doing wild stuff like driving their cars off bridges and what yes it's really crazy like people thought it was going to be the end of the world. You know what's crazy, though? If you think the world's going to end, it is. If your mindset is there, if your mindset is like, I'm going to kill myself, your world is about to end. Yep.
Starting point is 00:02:36 So don't speak for everybody. Yeah. You manifesting that. That's right. When you say the world's going to end, don't speak for everybody. Your world's about to end. Absolutely. Well, today on the show, Crystal Smith and Tamika Raymond will be joining us.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Crystal Smith, of course, is Neo's ex-wife. And Tamika Raymond is Usher's ex-wife. They're on a new show on WE tv called Bold and Bougie. Her name is Crystal Renee now. I'm sorry. Yeah, she didn't keep the last name. She said, mm-mm. Oh, she didn't want the last name.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Yeah, Tamika said, no, I'm going to keep that. Okay, all right. But Crystal said no. No, she don't need it. Yeah no she don't need it yeah okay we got a book out too called um here i stand here i stand ironically named after one of usher's album yes i'd like to know about that yes so we'll be chopping it up with them in a little bit and then when we come back we got front page news donald trump he went to atlanta you know the first place he stopped where chick-fil-A. We'll talk about it when we come back.
Starting point is 00:03:27 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Now, let's start off with some quick sports. Now, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rasheed Rice faces eight charges.
Starting point is 00:03:42 All right. Now, this is including aggravated assault after he allegedly, him and another driver were racing and crashed and crashed into a bunch of cars. Dallas police issued arrest warrants Wednesday for Chiefs wide receiver and former SMU star Rashi Rice over his role in this chain reaction crash March 30th. Police say Rice was speeding in a Lamborghini SUV when it and a speeding Corvette caused a series of collisions on the Central Expressway near University Boulevard. Four other vehicles were hit, injuring multiple people. Yet TMZ photos showed the people in the Lamborghini and Corvette leave the scene before police arrived. Last week, Rice's attorney told reporters he expected charges to be filed every question that was asked of him he responded to the dallas police department and we will continue to cooperate with them in terms of this particular accident
Starting point is 00:04:37 yeah so that that's what happened nobody was killed, but yeah, he caused several accidents. Now, also, Donald Trump was in Atlanta, and he pulled up on Chick-fil-A to buy some Chick-fil-A. He was in Atlanta for a fundraiser trying to raise some money, and he was hungry. He wanted to bring some food for the homies. We're going to order 30 milkshakes. We'll give them out to the people, and we'll take some for ourselves, okay? Good. Thank you very much, everybody.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Hello. This has been a great American franchise ourselves, okay? The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President.
Starting point is 00:05:12 The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President.
Starting point is 00:05:20 The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The President. The! Bye, Heidi. Bye, bye, sleepy Joe. The worst president in the history of the United States, and he's horrible to the black community. Are you going to like it or not?
Starting point is 00:05:33 He's the black community man. And check out his record in the 1990s. Check out his record in the 1990s. Your economy looks worse. What's the problem? It's election season. I know Biden better not show up to Popeye's. It's the presidential election season.
Starting point is 00:05:51 And, you know, people calling that pandering. I don't know if that's pandering. Because Trump loves fast food. So Chick-fil-A makes sense. As Justin said, Popeye's would be pandering. Church's Chicken would be pandering. But the owner of Chick-fil-A, as far as I know, has pretty conservative values. You heard him talking about his Christian roots. He's also donated to a owner of Chick-fil-A, as far as I know, has pretty conservative values. Right.
Starting point is 00:06:06 You heard him talking about his Christian roots. He's also donated to a lot of anti-LGBTQ groups. It seems on brand to me. Yeah. And it's incredible. But he just put that guy out there. Like he said, he's in one of my groups with me when nobody know that he was with Trump. I think people know that. People know he's a Trump supporter.
Starting point is 00:06:22 But the Chick-fil-A owner is very conservative. Okay. It's incredible when people get mad at stuff like that. You know, the reality is Trump has supporters, y'all. Y'all know this. A lot of them. Okay. Stop calling them stupid and understand it's an election.
Starting point is 00:06:35 And instead of talking about all the bad things you think Trump is doing, talk about all the good things you think President Biden is doing. Right. Well, you know, how about spending some time doing that? Put some energy into that. All right. Well, that is doing. Right. Well, you know, how about spend some time doing that? Put some energy into that. All right. That is front page news. Now, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:06:52 If you need to vent, hit us up right now. Again, 800-585-1051. Get it off your chest. Call us up right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Starting point is 00:07:53 Psych, psych. Nah, I'm still going to read. Nah, but I want to get off my chest. My daughter's birthday was Tuesday. My baby moms will not let me see her. That is crazy. I'm sorry for you, bro bro Yeah, I'm sorry about that I don't know why they do that man They gotta understand it's over

I want to speak about the interview with the mayor and the attorney. Ole, Ole, you hear me?
Starting point is 00:09:08 Yep, and Eric. Yeah, Ole, yeah. I'm sorry. I can't remember her name. Eric Adams. Yeah, yeah. She's speaking about like pandering and saying the subway system is on space. I work for the MTA, man. I don't feel safe. Hmm. Dang. I don't feel safe. Just in the past
Starting point is 00:09:23 30 days, you gotta operate our staff Conduct a neck slash open Lady hit on the platform Luckily people came to her defense That's just in like the past 30 days And so like it's not safe I mean I understand we gotta Watch the police and make sure they're not
Starting point is 00:09:40 You know harassing us The black community I'm a black man So I'm very aware of that But nah it's rough out here Like, you know, harassment of us, the black community. I'm a black man, so I'm very aware of that. But, nah, it's rough out here. Do the more police officers they put down there, does that make you feel safer? To a degree, yes. You know, you can't stop all the time, but you've got to try something.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Right. Absolutely. Like, do you not do anything? Like, I said, everything I just named is in the past 30 days, and it's been a lot more. Yeah, you know, it's interesting. What do we do? When you put more police, you know, in the subway, and then you ask people, do you feel safe? It just depends who you're asking.
Starting point is 00:10:13 If you're asking white people, they'll probably say yes. Black people say no, because we don't historically feel safe around the police. Right. Well, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:10:29 Wake it up. This is your time to get it off your chest. Keep calling. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? This is Blind Beauty. Hey, Blind Beauty.
Starting point is 00:10:42 Oh, wow. Well, you've been scranging. We ain't seen you in a while. I ain't seen you in a while either. You heard it? Well, true. No, you guys. How you guys doing this morning?
Starting point is 00:10:54 Bless, lack, and highly favored. Have you ever spoke to Jess Hilarious, Blind Beauty? No, I haven't talked to her yet. What? She hasn't talked to her yet. No, I've never talked to her before. Well, say good morning. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Blind Beauty is actually here. Good morning. Good morning. She's the one of our blind listeners. Yes. Oh, I thought you were saying blonde. No, blind. Oh, that's what's up. What's up, girl? She's the one that created the song for my family, the jingle for my family.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Oh, yes, yes. I just heard the jingle that you did for Envy's podcast. It was amazing. I like it. Dope, dope, dope. Yeah. Yes. I was calling up here to give um envy his 10s i got to
Starting point is 00:11:29 give you your 10s because when i first recorded it you were like i'm gonna use it i promise you and then a couple years went by and then poof i saw it you know and i really really appreciate you for keeping your word because that goes a long way. Yeah, we were actually going to use it for a TV show as an intro because I thought it felt very like Cosby Show-ish. I thought it was dope. And then it just never took off the way that we wanted it to. So when we started to bring the podcast back, which you can check it out right now on iHeartRadio and wherever you check out your podcast. I was like, it just fits. It's like an introduction to the podcast, introduction to our family.
Starting point is 00:12:04 So I appreciate you, Blind Beauty, for doing it and putting that together for me. Yes. And I also wanted to say this. Twin, not twin, Jesus, Trav, he is going to give you the official one because it says Precious, your check today. You bought the beat. I know. I bought it.

Starting point is 00:12:51 And I wanted to say Charlamagne I have used your Black Privilege book For the first lesson of my year Since it came out And the one chapter that I use with my students Is called PYP Pick Your Poison
Starting point is 00:13:05 Procrastination of Your Passion Yes, I'm telling you When I say it has saved so many of my boys I started the year with this And then I do mid-year We bring it back up again To make sure that they're actually following their passion It has helped so much

Starting point is 00:13:41 Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. We got just with the mess coming up. What we talking about? Yes. K. Michelle says she feels like the man when her man cries in front of her. Jesus. Alright. Well, we'll talk about that later. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast
Starting point is 00:13:55 Club. Morning, everybody. We are the Breakfast Club. Now, let's get to Jess with the mess. News is real. Jessica Robin Moore. Jess don't do no lying. She don't do no lying.
Starting point is 00:14:08 She don't spare nobody. Worldwide Jess, worldwide mess. On The Breakfast Club. She's a culture shift. She was able to get y'all to see something and understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to settle it off that wig was shifting crazy just now and you issued it i don't have a wig sweetheart head move is on your head you you're doing a lot of talking about somebody who don't have no air
Starting point is 00:14:34 and will never have none thank you very much it's not a wig it's a sore there you go um i want to just um take a few seconds just to correct something i reported two days ago about jonathan majors he did not um receive probation um he only received a 52 week program um for like his anger and all that type stuff that he has to go through for a year that's a damn shame i'm telling you man that man got a man lost all of those opportunities for a misdemeanor that he just ended up having to go to a program too for a year. Yep, yep, yep. And we saw the video of him running away
Starting point is 00:15:07 from this white woman. Lord have mercy. Yes, yes, yes. And the movie is out. It's on YouTube. The actor that got chased around the city. It's on YouTube, guys.
Starting point is 00:15:15 It's a movie by Alvin Gray. He's the Baltimore director. Is that on Tubi? Not yet. It's on Amazon Prime and it's on YouTube. Go watch it for free, guys. Y'all can go watch it.
Starting point is 00:15:24 It's called The Actor That Got Chased Around The City. Alright. So yeah. Paying homage to John the Major. Alright. Kate Michelle says she doesn't feel protected when her man cries in front of her. So she was on the live and she was talking to a friend in the background when she said she doesn't
Starting point is 00:15:38 feel like when men cry in front of her it doesn't make her feel protected. I don't feel protected. I wouldn't like to be doubted about that, you know? I do. I think men should be able to cry and be vulnerable. But for some reason, once they cry, you know what happens to me?
Starting point is 00:15:54 What? I turn into the man. No. You're not going to be on my side. When they cry, I'll be like, I'll be like that, like. That's sad. Yeah, she was saying, like, when they cry i'll be like that's sad yeah she was saying like when they both cry like who's gonna be like the strong inferior one you know what i'm saying she did also say that she would like to get better about it though like she but that's just something obviously you know kay michelle is still dealing
Starting point is 00:16:18 with things in her past and she's hurting everything so just selling her healing energy however on the same life she did say she talked talked about how she doesn't believe the Bible's message on homosexuality. I don't believe that you're not supposed to be gay in the Bible. I don't believe that you're not supposed to be gay. I just don't believe that. So be mad at me. This and that. People are supposed to be what they feel on the inside.
Starting point is 00:16:40 And you can't tell people. I agree with that. I highly disagree with her first statement though like i don't understand what's happening in the world y'all want men to be vulnerable y'all want us to go to therapy you want us to get in touch with our emotions but when we do we get slandered for it and i think you can cry and still be tough like tears don't make you any less tough not at all but that's why i said i think it's just like just pain from her past you know what i'm saying because she went through domestic violence and in previous relationships and stuff like that so i just think that she automatically
Starting point is 00:17:08 you know fills away because of her trauma but it's statements like that that make men not want to reveal their feelings right we've had this thing where men don't talk they don't talk about their feelings they don't express themselves but those are the thoughts and reasons why listen my man cry i'm trying to beat down whoever made it happen. Like, what? Who made you cry? What? Yeah, because he's going
Starting point is 00:17:29 to do the same for me. So if we both crying, it's like, all right, hold up. You got to fix my problem first and then we can fix yours. Also, what happened to the complicated status on Facebook?
Starting point is 00:17:37 Like, human beings are complicated creatures. We're not one thing. Like, we don't have just one emotion. Like, I don't know when we got to this point where it can be one emotion all or nothing right like that's not how things work yeah she also said that she does not believe that people can sin she also did say that that she does
Starting point is 00:17:56 not believe that was following her um homosexuality comments that she people cannot send she said you're supposed to be able to so you can kill somebody but you but you can't be gay i didn't understand that but she was drinking but um she was just like she also believed that people cannot send so all right okay but i'd like to hear more on that one i know yeah well her live is about an hour but we only got seven minutes to report the stuff so i got uh two more minutes for my next story bobby j thompson accus Thompson accuses Tracy Morgan of bullying him on set for stealing scenes. Bobby J. Thompson was on with Comedian Hype News earlier this week when he was talking about his past when he was on the Tracy Morgan show. I remember being a kid, bro, on a certain set, bro. And the star of this project that I was working on bro this got mad at me
Starting point is 00:18:46 bro and i'm just a seven-year-old kid just doing my job bro i'm mad at me bro grabbed me by my collar and was like who the f**k name is on that sign my like that's how that's how he handled me like who the f**k name is that right there what the f**k that say stop getting in these scenes and hamming it up and we just always say stop hamming it up but then this same turn around when they did an interview and acted like it was all good like oh yeah if he's still in the scene then that's what it should be i ain't ducking nothing yeah it's tracy morgan that's that's me now i love me some bobby jay um bobby jay thompson he's he's also um been in movies like Imagine That
Starting point is 00:19:26 with Eddie Murphy, Idlewild. This guy been acting since he was little. Like a little young. And he's also been in at least 20 projects. And that's not even naming
Starting point is 00:19:36 all the seasons of Wildin' Out. He's been on all the seasons of I think he was on Raven. Something like Raven, Simone Show. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:19:44 that's something that he wanted to get off when he was sat down with Comedy Hype News. Wouldn't you want that, though? All the co-stars make you better. They make your show better. You have to look at it like a team. If you got a strong team, all of y'all win championships if all of y'all great.
Starting point is 00:19:58 You should want everyone to be great. Think about all these shows that we grew up watching. We didn't just love Martin because of Martin. You know what I'm saying? Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going.
Starting point is 00:20:20 That's what my podcast Post Run High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. You know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout? Well, that's when the real magic happens. So if you love hearing real, inspiring stories from the people you know, follow, and admire, join me every week for Post Run High.
Starting point is 00:20:48 It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, y'all? This is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it.
Starting point is 00:21:29 Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all. Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand-new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning
Starting point is 00:22:20 in to Historical Records because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Everybody else on the cast, they all made the show what it was. That's right.
Starting point is 00:22:39 We didn't just love Cosby's show because of Cosby's show. He didn't say Tracy abused him. He said just Tracy was rough with him. No, no, no. He was just bullying him on set. He was a seven-year-old kid. No, he's talking about stealing scenes.
Starting point is 00:22:49 He was outshining him. Yeah, outshining Tracy in scenes. And he would get upset about that. The Cosby show would not be the Cosby show if it was just Bill Cosby. You know what I'm saying? You should want that. I'm not saying that this would happen because I don't know the story. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:23:05 I wish Theo would yoke up Rudy, like, yo, stop stealing the scene. You know? That's crazy. But, yeah, you should want that. But that was just with the mess for the first hour. All right. Now, when we come back, we got front page news. Inflation.
Starting point is 00:23:19 I mean, you're paying more for things, right? For milk, for eggs. Lord have mercy. For everything out there. We'll tell you what's going on with that, so don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. You're checking out The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy.
Starting point is 00:23:32 Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Now we got to discuss inflation. Lord have mercy. Now they predicted how inflation would affect Americans and they didn't predict it right. Reason being is it shot up like crazy.
Starting point is 00:23:48 They're saying gasoline prices shot up like crazy. They're saying paying 20% more for milk, 30% more for bread, 50% more for eggs. No, 103% more for eggs. This is 50% more for eggs as of 2020. That's crazy. 103% more for eggs as of 2020. That's crazy. 103% more for eggs. They said rent is up 20% and they said electricity costs is up about 30%. And steak too now.
Starting point is 00:24:11 I saw a little Duval post that on Instagram yesterday and the steak is going up 26% in the grocery store. Well, the problem is people's salaries aren't going up like that. So people are having a tough time dealing with bills, having a tough time dealing with buying necessities and things are getting crazy. And they're saying that this should have been predicted and possibly handled when they lowered the interest rates. And this is what Biden said about it. Last month, you predicted the Federal Reserve would cut interest rates thanks to falling inflation. But today, data showed that inflation rose more than expected for the third
Starting point is 00:24:45 straight month. Do you stand by your prediction for a rate cut? Well, I do stand by my prediction that before the year is out to be a rate cut. This may delay it a month or so. I'm not sure of that. We don't know what the Fed is going to do for certain. But look, we have dramatically reduced inflation from 9% down to close to 3%. We're better situated than we were when we took office, where inflation was skyrocketing. And we have a plan to deal with it, whereas the opposition, my opposition, talks about two things. They just want to cut taxes for the wealthy and raise taxes on other people. And so I think they have no plan. Our plan is one I think is so sustainable. Hey, man, y'all keep screaming about how good the economy is,
Starting point is 00:25:30 and I keep saying for who? Who keep screaming that? Well, Biden, Bidenomics. I don't think people realize how hard everyday working class Americans are getting hit for basic necessities like groceries. And this is why Biden needs to start talking about stimulus checks. It's an election year, man. You got to start throwing things on the needs to start talking about stimulus checks it's a it's an election year man you got to start throwing things on the table start talking about biden bucks tell
Starting point is 00:25:49 people you want to put some money in their pocket to help them with things like groceries to help them with things like gas and put your name on the checks now we know republicans in congress aren't going to let that pass but make a big show about it let every at least let people think you want to put some money in their pocket and then let them know who's blocking them from getting that money. It's so crazy because you can see it in not only just your groceries, but somebody that goes to fast food.
Starting point is 00:26:14 The prices of McDonald's shot up through the roof. McDonald's is almost like a real Applebee's meal right now, which is very expensive. When you think about it, we're not supposed to be eating none of this stuff anyway. So actually, the dairy going up shouldn't have a problem with it because dairy
Starting point is 00:26:30 carries disease. That's all they can afford though. That's all most people, that's all a lot of people can afford. They can't afford to eat healthy. It costs, it's even more money to eat healthy. Well now, it's not affordable to eat unhealthy. You get what I'm saying? It's not. We're just going to do i'm saying well it's not we're just gonna do ramadan
Starting point is 00:26:45 all year like if you do an almond milk almond milk is even more expensive like everything is just super duper expensive now if you're out there and you drive a ford i know a lot of times we get these recalls in the mail i do it all the time myself i look at it and i just throw it out but yes we should take our cars in for recalls. I know it's a problem. I know it takes a little bit of our extra time, but it could save our life because Ford is recalling almost 43,000 cars. Ford is recalling nearly 43,000 SUVs because gas can leak from the fuel injectors onto hot engine surfaces, increasing the risk of fires. The recall covers certain Bronco Sport SUVs from the 2022 and 2023 model years, as well as escapes from 2022. We're told that the recall remedy does not include repairing the fuel leaks.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Dealers will install a tube to let gasoline flow away from hot surfaces to the ground below the vehicle. Does it count for all Fords, Expeditions, Explorers, all that good stuff? Well, she just told, she said the Broncos and Escapes. Oh, okay. And lastly, I know, I know, shout out to all the parents out there, sometimes them Lunchables save the day, right? When you're a parent and you got to go on the run, sometimes you just need a little Lunchable, right?
Starting point is 00:27:59 Well, they're saying that Lunchables, you should check the Lunchables because they're having a consumer reports that some of them might have lead in them. Watchdog group this morning is pushing to remove Lunchables from the National School Lunch Program. Consumer reports say the snack has high levels of lead and cadmium. The CDC says there is no safe level of lead for children. The World Health Organization classified cadmium as a human carcinogen. The group also found Lunchables contained high levels of sodium. Now, Consumer Reports says most of the snacks also contain phthalates, which can be linked to reproductive issues, diabetes,
Starting point is 00:28:37 and some cancers. Well, people can't afford them no way no more. Okay, Lunchables used to be like a dollar. Now, they're almost $4 at Walmart. Okay. So you might as well give that up. You can't even afford it no more anyway. And they're like $6 at 7-Eleven. Damn. Yeah. That much?
Starting point is 00:28:52 Wow. That was the last time I bought one. But another thing, like lead, that's been around forever because a lot of my friends got lead settlements. So a lot of people be looking for money. Oh, yeah. That was the thing in Baltimore. That was the thing. It was the thing in Baltimore. Yep. I got a lot of my little lead for money. Oh yeah, that was a thing in Baltimore. That was a thing. It was a thing in Baltimore.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Yep, a lot of, I got a lot of my little lead rich friends. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. So if that's the way you got to get money, you know how many people
Starting point is 00:29:13 we just sent to the store that buy Lunchables? People in the hood. They like, oh, if we can get lead, then we later on can lead to lead settlements. Well, how about this?
Starting point is 00:29:20 I remember that back in the day. I remember they did like a big Baltimore lead paint study. Yeah, crazy. Like they was using y'all as an example. Hot wheels. It was absolutely. I know y'all because I never even.
Starting point is 00:29:28 I checked to see if I had it. How many of y'all is in Baltimore? I didn't have it. Yeah. But it was in the paint. It was in the. I remember. They put in the projects.
Starting point is 00:29:35 They put in like the little hot wheels cars. Like all of that. Yeah. Yeah. Because they said. If I remember correctly. They said their families with young children were deliberately exposed to lead by being housed with their families in apartments. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:29:49 Where lead paint had not been completely removed. Like, that was a thing they was doing to people in Baltimore. And he had to pay out millions and millions and millions to different families. You see what I'm saying? In Baltimore. And y'all think people from Baltimore are just crazy because they crazy. It's the lead. All right, then why y'all crazy in Monk's Corner?
Starting point is 00:30:02 Y'all ain't handle lead. It was something. It was something. Sure, it was something. There's something in the water. Y'all playing with us, y'all. For real.'all ain't handle it there's something in the water stop playing with us yo for real and that is front page news now when we come back Crystal Smith and Tamika Raymond
Starting point is 00:30:15 will be joining us there on WE TV's Bold and Bougie you watch the show? yes I think it's great you need to relax for no reason why
Starting point is 00:30:26 no no this is already your friend you ain't gotta lie like that nobody lying no I saw that first episode it's so good when Jess face don't move with that show in shape
Starting point is 00:30:40 she lying she lying so we gonna talk to her when we come back it's the breakfast club good morning the breakfast club good morning everybody She lying She lying So we're gonna talk To them when we come back It's The Breakfast Club Good morning The Breakfast Club Good morning everybody
Starting point is 00:30:50 It's DJ Envy Jess Hilarious Charlamagne Tha God We are The Breakfast Club We got some special guests In the building From Bold and Bougie Crystal Renee
Starting point is 00:30:58 And Tamika Foster Welcome ladies Hey y'all Hey What's up Good morning What a title Bold and Bougie I mean You know Yeah I the job the all y'all know each other before
Starting point is 00:31:11 y'all started cuz it's it's crystal it's Tamika it's Malaysia and princess Lofton I always miss it up lofters you know I love you did y'all know each other? Like we all friends? I knew of Malaysia, we've been to like some birthday parties together But it was my first time meeting all the ladies Yeah, well princess and I were cool She tried to get me on Housewives
Starting point is 00:31:35 A few seasons I don't know, I thought it was going to be messy But I guess it's still messy where we are Some type of way Jumped out of the grease into the fire pan So what is Bold and Bougie about if we haven't seen it? I mean, I think all reality shows
Starting point is 00:31:49 have the same premise. They follow the lives of each of the cast. So they just follow us around each of our different lives. Like she owns a restaurant. I have a clothing business and I have books
Starting point is 00:31:59 and this and that. And they follow us and then they have us come together and argue about shit we don't know that we're arguing about. The reality time. They just make up, yeah. I'm like, yeah why did you say why were you late to my event because i'd be like because my name ain't on the cake it's not my birthday like it's that kind of thing so why'd y'all decide to do it because if y'all knew it was gonna be beefing and you know what they're
Starting point is 00:32:18 gonna put on tv they ain't gonna put the nice stuff they ain't gonna put your restaurant pack they ain't gonna put you they'll show a bit of it they did They did a good job of showcasing our business and stuff like that. But for myself, I did it because, like, I'm getting back out here. I'm, you know, a single mom. And so I'm getting to my bag, period. And that's it. That's all. My only focus.
Starting point is 00:32:34 My bag, period. So why didn't you, you know how some wives, they choose to keep the last name of the husband. Why didn't you keep the last name Smith? Well, he's not known as Neal Smith. And those are my kids. That's my kids' last name. So it not known as neo smith and those are my kids that's my kid's last name so it was an easy decision yeah well i mean people didn't know his name though he's not known and that's not what they call him but people do know his last name why you didn't keep raymond
Starting point is 00:32:54 i keep i still use raymond it's easier it's easier to use raymond but on social media i dropped it because they would be on my page like he got rid of you he signed them papers you gotta but my kids have the same name my passport it's just so much to change that stuff yeah your credit cards your bank accounts your passport your social security who got that kind of time i'm not trying to be enlightened we're like social media want me to change my name yeah only black community really trip off of that yeah think about it we'd be mad that's because they're fans of the artist so they think that we took their Think about it. We'd be mad. That's because they're fans of the artist, so they think that we took their husbands,
Starting point is 00:33:27 and it's just a mess. Well, congratulations on your restaurant business, girl. Thank you for all. And the first episode of Bold and Bougie. You doing music? Girl, no.
Starting point is 00:33:37 You rapping? No. You rapping, man. No, that's something I do for fun. You know, you've heard some of my stuff. I've heard some of yours. Yes, I have.
Starting point is 00:33:42 Yes. They played with that scene. They played hard with that. It was nasty work. So you're not taking it serious. No, it's just something I do for fun you know you've heard some of my stuff yes they played with that scene they played hard with that it was nasty so you're not taking it serious no it's just something i do for fun to let off steam okay and but you but you got a name and everything vvs what's up well eric benson gave me that name so i mean why not ride with it vvs vvs you got you got you got you got jesus i thought she was about to really really drop something nah she made a single she did I got like
Starting point is 00:34:07 hella songs like over 40 songs yeah so that's something that you're never gonna do I don't think I mean I'm 37 I mean
Starting point is 00:34:15 you know so I don't wanna be like a geriatric rapper yeah I was freestyling on there too I have so many things that are on my plate right now
Starting point is 00:34:23 that music is just like you know it's a slow build to making money and I need the bag to come quicker than that does reality TV help or hurt like the overall brand of everything so the reason why I even agreed to do it is because I have a clothing line
Starting point is 00:34:38 Eli Kish and then of course my books and so I was hoping yeah here I stand in white bras and now I have an animated book coming out soon. And so I was really hoping that it would really spotlight my businesses. And I think it did a little bit. It did a little bit. I just think that they didn't get the, like, they want the drama of it. So, like, I had a fashion show, for example, and we had too much power running.
Starting point is 00:35:01 So the generator, I mean, the lights went down for a second. They highlighted that five seconds of the lights went down for a second. They highlighted that five seconds of the lights going down. Like it was a, what happened? Did they not pay their bill? I'm like,
Starting point is 00:35:11 come on. It was at an art gallery in Buckhead. It was fine. And it was nice. But they made it seem like instead of showing the clothes and how beautiful the models were
Starting point is 00:35:19 and all that, they didn't focus on any of that. It was a really nice show. It was a great show and the clothes were banging, of course. So it hurt. It didn't hurt. It just didn't help. It was a really nice show. It was a great show. And the clothes were banging, of course. So it hurt. It didn't hurt.
Starting point is 00:35:26 It just didn't help. It was like, damn. We put all that money into the fashion show. And, you know, selecting the models and the makeup and the hair. And you guys want to show the five seconds that the lights went out? That's what you wanted to focus on? Could y'all ever, like, have meetings? Is it, like, complaints or something?
Starting point is 00:35:41 You know, what about my text? The group chat. Girl, let me tell you. This one with the group chat, we get a message every day. We are above this. And it's like 10 pages long. I don't read none of that. You don't read it?
Starting point is 00:35:51 I love you. I love you. I do not respond to the group chat. Take me out of it, please. I go off. I be giving whole dissertations about life. Is Tamika the seven-minute voice note person? No, she don't the voice note person.
Starting point is 00:36:05 She will write, you see she likes to write. I'm a writer. She will write chapters. But I think that it's all in, I'm a moralized, I'd be like, check this out.
Starting point is 00:36:14 We are bigger than this. We're above this. I was like, my brand is not that. You know what I mean? But I mean, when you answer into something like that,
Starting point is 00:36:21 you know what you're signing up for. So I think it's up to the individual on how you conduct yourself and how you handle yourself. Like for me, I feel like it was a benefit to like that, you know what you're signing up for. So I think it's up to the individual on how you conduct yourself and how you handle yourself. Like for me, I feel like it was a benefit to me
Starting point is 00:36:28 because, you know, I don't really speak out or I don't really do all that kind of stuff. So it was able to showcase like who I am as a person and my morals and my standards and how I am. So it worked out for me actually very well.
Starting point is 00:36:40 Would y'all date celebrities again since your life is so out there? Like they pick and part everything that you guys do. I think I want a man that sit behind a desk. I think I'm over it. Just over it. The whole lifestyle.
Starting point is 00:36:52 I'll take the forefront. You sit in the back. Would you date a bus driver? No. What? Why not? I don't know. I'd be just a decent person.
Starting point is 00:37:02 I have three kids. I'm a single mother. And my bills, the salary does not cover my bills and I just it's not for me then again when you say why his salary gotta cover your bills
Starting point is 00:37:10 you should be able to cover your bills I already know what the I don't it's not about that I'm just thinking about it but it's not about that I just know what the people are gonna say
Starting point is 00:37:18 I wanted to ask you about your book Here I Stand interesting title because someone could say it's just a cliche term or one could say Usher also named his album Here I Stand. Interesting title, because one could say it's just a cliche term, or one could say, Usher also named his album Here I Stand. That's right.
Starting point is 00:37:28 So why did you decide to name it Here I Stand? Well, Here I Stand, you remember, that was a time where people were really in love, and you know, having their first child, and all kinds of stuff, and the album was dedicated to me, if you read the credits and all that, and I was very kind of instrumental in the album, which kind of instrumental in the album which kind of flopped so I guess that's dying
Starting point is 00:37:47 my musical taste my anarchic I want to come back to that but finish this point but anyway so here I stand because I've been
Starting point is 00:37:56 through a lot and so it's about remaining in a beautiful state despite it all like life happens life is going to come at you things are going to happen you're going to lose people You're going to lose people.
Starting point is 00:38:05 You're going to lose love. You're going to have heartbreak. But you have to remain in a beautiful state. So things will happen. You have to come back to being positive and just in a good space.
Starting point is 00:38:13 Don't you think I'm in a beautiful state pretty much? You know, most of the time. When am I not? Name a time. See, that little when. When am I not? God damn it.
Starting point is 00:38:21 When am I not? You and Grochet, you don't be in a beautiful time. Oh, on the show? Well, no. I mean, being in a beautiful state doesn't mean you won't check somebody. That don't mean you won't get your point off. But then you go back to, like, what are we going to go eat?
Starting point is 00:38:36 You know what I mean? I'll cuss you out and be like, yes. I don't stay in a suffering state. I stay in a beautiful state. You know, I was reading an article that Usher did, I think, in in people magazine about a month ago and he said he felt attacked and judged from fans oh yeah after marrying you and i i know this was like should you care what the fans think you you love who you love yeah you do but then i think it weighs on you if like every day every time you open anything it's somebody's saying something bad about your wife you remember he went on mtv like shut the hell up about her he kind of got tired of it um he was very judged
Starting point is 00:39:10 very we didn't have a chance in terms of the public court of public opinion yeah you guys forgave a lot of people though because there's there were a lot of people frying y'all and going at y'all and yeah you guys showed a lot of grace was that difficult um? I didn't. I was cussing him out. I was on Twitter. I had Twitter fingers bad as hell. Like, let me tell you something. You fat. Da, da, da.
Starting point is 00:39:30 No. Big back. Yeah. Unbig your back and then holla at him. Hurry. Right. Right. All right.
Starting point is 00:39:37 We got more with Crystal Smith and Tamika Raymond when we come back. They're on The Bold and the Bougie, a show on WE tv. We'll talk to them more when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's everybody it's dj envy jess hilarious charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club we're still kicking it with crystal smith and tamika raymond you know crystal smith is neo's ex-wife tamika is ush's ex-wife they're on the cast of bold and bougie jess crystal um on the show you said that neo had never asked you hell no i know you could ask never ever okay never ever you know but but if he had no no no okay i mean i got three babies
Starting point is 00:40:14 clearly i did that but there's no third party i don't i'm not sharing my husband yeah knowingly right right right exactly and so that's exactly what the problem was like apparently so yeah apparently so you know so he had one of the threesome and you won't give it to him that's no he's never asked he never asked for one yeah men know who to ask yeah i was about to say yeah is that insulting for a man to ask i don't think it's insulting but like i just i'm old school i'm not sharing my husband i'm not sharing ding-a-ling I'm just not doing it Like it's too much nasty
Starting point is 00:40:47 In the world And I just I don't If you want something else You don't want me You know So I'm straight with that Yeah
Starting point is 00:40:54 And where are you Guys now Cause I know it was a nasty I know it got nasty You know what I'm saying The divorce I mean for him I was
Starting point is 00:41:02 I was in peace Yeah And I'm still in peace Yeah I'm in a good place In my I'm still in peace. Yeah. I'm in a good place in my life right now. What was the decision that made you say, you know what, enough's enough, I need to move? Well, what's funny is it was the breakfast club. Why?
Starting point is 00:41:13 Why? It was the breakfast club. It was the breakfast club. It was the breakfast club. No, you wasn't here. You wasn't here. Jesus. Remember when y'all asked him the question, would he be okay not knowing if his partner
Starting point is 00:41:24 was cheating? He was like, I would live in a blissful bubble. So somebody sent me that, and it was like something in my stomach was like, uh-uh. Thumbnail, right? Is that how he wants me to think? And then I found everything that I needed to find that day, and I left that day. Find that clip, Eddie. Did you go through his phone, or how did you find everything you needed to find?
Starting point is 00:41:44 It was a phone. It was a phone. It was a phone. That is smart. You could have been some type of detective. No, they say that. If you listen to a person say something,
Starting point is 00:41:53 you'd be like, you know what? He's projecting. Let me go snoop around him and see what he got going on. Lord. So he just, you would.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Because he, because with me, he was, he has a little jealousy in him or whatever. So I know that he would never be okay with me doing that. You know what I'm saying? Unless he did it.
Starting point is 00:42:09 Yeah. So it was like, mm-mm, something ain't right. Did he come clean all the way? He had no choice. And I feel like that was just God's redirection for me. It was a situation that was no longer serving me. And he knew that. Hey, guys.

Starting point is 00:43:20 so y'all this is quest love and i'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all. Nimany here.
Starting point is 00:43:50 I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Historical Records brings history to life through hip hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap is another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know?
Starting point is 00:44:28 I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was called a moment. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts i wasn't what i wanted in a marriage and he just removed me from that situation and i think that he did it in a way that i had no choice to leave because my values my morals would never be involved in something like that. Was it the first time you caught him cheating?
Starting point is 00:45:05 Yeah. In 2020, I thought that it was a thing and I left him then. So if I thought something and now I know something. Yeah. Are you sure though? Because black men don't cheat. You can leave your own studio. Okay. Leave your own studio.
Starting point is 00:45:22 He loves triggering. Yes. When you were saying that. You know, I think that all men cheat I really do no let me tell you all the black men in here like no no no all the but I think it's three he ain't black I think there's different types like there's men that have cheated and learned their lesson and then like they find someone that are like yeah I was gonna and then. And then there's men that that's just what they do. You know what I'm saying? So it just...
Starting point is 00:45:48 Yeah, I don't think, I don't think it's realistic to believe. I don't know. I don't think we're gonna be made for... Made for me. I don't think so. Well, I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:45:57 Not like that. Just one person. So you don't think that... One person for the rest of your life to death. One man. Made for monogamy. For the rest of your life?
Starting point is 00:46:03 I don't believe. I believe. I think so. If you find that if you find that one that actually fulfilled you one human being the reason we say
Starting point is 00:46:09 black men is we say black boys cheat right and most boys when they become a man then that's when they realize what it is how do all men step out
Starting point is 00:46:16 there's some that do it on a serial basis and I'm not saying from personal experience I'm just saying I just think in general I have friends with a lot I'm a girl that loves guys and they're my homies and I talk just saying, I just think in general, I have friends with a lot. I'm a girl that loves guys
Starting point is 00:46:25 and they're my homies and I talk to them and they just do. I think of a woman as fulfilling you on every level, spiritually, emotionally,
Starting point is 00:46:33 mentally, physically. I do that one trip to Punta Cana. There's that one time you and your homies went and you accidentally just met somebody
Starting point is 00:46:41 at the... I don't think that's the country we're just your homies. I think it's a man's own pride. You can't put on a woman because a woman can do
Starting point is 00:46:51 everything under the sun. Cook, clean, do your bedroom, all of that. And if a man still wants to cheat, that's what he's gonna do. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:46:59 So I don't think that it has anything to do with the woman. I'm telling you, if a woman fulfills you spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, the physical, you won't even think about another woman. I'm telling you, if a woman fulfills you spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. They shouldn't. The physical,
Starting point is 00:47:07 you won't even think about another woman. If that's the type of person that you are. Right. You have to be that type of man, though. Already. Yeah. Because you can be tried. I still think there's those slip-ups.
Starting point is 00:47:17 I think you have cheaters at a cereal and they just have a whole other relationship on the side. Then you have people that slip up. I just think that something happens regarding another party at some point. And I'm talking about in a lifetime. It may happen once.
Starting point is 00:47:30 But it still happened. I don't know. So how do you handle slip ups then? If you got that mentality and you feel like a man going to slip up anyway, how do you handle the slip up? I don't know. I haven't. I don't know because I'm single now. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:41 I don't know. I don't know. Have you ever had somebody slip up? Yeah. I think we all have. Yeah. I think we all have. Guys slip up.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Yeah, they mess up sometimes. And you don't leave them. I have. I have. I've left you over a slip up for sure. But in hindsight, I don't think that's big enough to ruin your whole marriage. I don't think it should be. Have y'all ever slipped up?
Starting point is 00:48:01 Uh-uh. I don't. I don't. Look at Tamika, though. Tamika's lying. Hold on. But no, forget the slip up. You got to think't look at Tamika though Tamika's lying hold on wait but no forget the slip up
Starting point is 00:48:07 Tamika you gotta think about it Tamika something wrong you gotta think about it right I was just saying I like how you guys
Starting point is 00:48:11 decorated everyone no have you ever cheated yes I have yes I have I have
Starting point is 00:48:17 and we were we were both cheating on each other I was in a relationship I found out that my partner was cheating and I cheated you cheated back I cheated also you cheated back
Starting point is 00:48:25 I cheated back okay cheated up okay you cheated up did you get left did they leave you they should have just left each other
Starting point is 00:48:32 we did we left each other it was no one and it was it was no one's fault it was both of our fault we knew we both made mistakes
Starting point is 00:48:40 she's not talking about usher blogs I'm not yeah cause you know the blogs around he cheated that's right I'm not talking about my marriages period I's not talking about usher blogs. I'm not. Yeah, because you know the blogs are relevant. Oh, he cheated. That's right. I'm not talking about my marriages, period.
Starting point is 00:48:48 I'm just talking about relationships. I think people don't realize that you date more than the people you marry. Say that again. Every time I'm speaking, they think I'm talking about my ex-husband or husbands. But no, I've dated since and before them. You know what I mean? I know other men, guys. Are you married again?
Starting point is 00:49:04 I would marry again. I sure again? I would marry again. I sure would. I would marry again. The right person who's got his stuff together. He's got to have his stuff together. Because I'm always trying to start a business or working on something. I'm really entrepreneurial. So you've got to have your bread together.
Starting point is 00:49:18 Neal Clippers is in there if you want to hear what Neal said. I do want to hear it. I don't remember this. I don't want to touch my memory. Dang, that's a name. Thank you, Crystal. We putting together the Breakfast Club doc
Starting point is 00:49:26 trying to find these moments that have caused people such trauma. Let's listen. I wake up every morning and breakfast is cooked. My kids are taken care of. Every time we're around each other
Starting point is 00:49:35 we smile and they're happy and things are blissful. And then on my deathbed somebody tell me that you was cheating on me my whole life. I lived a pretty good damn life. I'm not going to trip off that.
Starting point is 00:49:44 That's me. That was the part the part yeah that's factual though that's true though i suspected something before then yeah you suspected something before then so i would be a fool and a liar to be like i didn't have suspicions or thinking like you know that any man has possibility that they're gonna cheat yeah But to the extent of the way things happen, I never in a million years would have, you know. That wasn't terrible. That wasn't the person that I was in love with. I just want to know why you're telling me that on my deathbed.
Starting point is 00:50:14 You trying to make me go faster? I'm trying to enjoy my final moments. Why would you call me that kind of stress and trauma on my deathbed? I think I was just so surprised because being around y'all, y'all were like best friends. Like it wasn't just like, you know, everything wasn't always romantic. Like, they was cool. That was my dog.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Like, y'all were like real best friends. You feel me? That's what I'm saying. It's not worth it to leave. Well, girl, what? Well, wait. Well, wait. Actually, I just.
Starting point is 00:50:37 That is your disposition. That's true. Mine, however, is different. Yeah, yeah. No, thank you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I know my worth and I'm not going to settle for just sharing somebody when I know I deserve a whole man. Right.
Starting point is 00:50:49 All right, we got more with Crystal Smith and Tamika Raymond when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with Crystal Smith and Tamika Raymond. They're on the cast of Bold and Bougie.
Starting point is 00:51:03 Now, I got a question. Crystal, did you ever key Ne-Yo's calls? Because it seems like you still got a little hurt. Like you did something. No. Nothing. You ever hit his hats? Yo, you stupid. Oh God. Stop. What in the world?
Starting point is 00:51:18 That was Sean. Sean snatched his hat off. I got you now. Just run with that s***. I I'm gonna storage you to this right no no I walked away peacefully
Starting point is 00:51:29 because when you when you fight and argue it's because you still want to be there and although I mean one of the hardest
Starting point is 00:51:35 things to do is to walk away from somebody you're still in love with but I love myself more and I knew that I was gonna go crazy if I chose to try
Starting point is 00:51:42 to work it out and stay you know what I'm saying and I'll always have love for him, but it's different now, you know, so. How are the kids? The kids are good. The kids are good. You know, they go and spend
Starting point is 00:51:53 time with daddy. They love their father and they're good. So the co-parenting is? I let him be a father and I keep communication at a minimal just because I'm focused on rebuilding my life and what that means for me. So I don't want to surround myself with what the past was that could potentially put me in a place where I'm emotional and all those things. So I choose to just keep it separate.
Starting point is 00:52:15 So there was no drunk nights like, hey, big head, nothing like that? I ain't never spent the block. Hey, big head. But did he try? Okay. What'd you say? I didn't say it was him. What'd you say, Jess? I said he he does. What'd you say he does?
Starting point is 00:52:25 I said he try. Listen, I think at this point he knows that there's no coming back. So we're trying to figure out what co-parenting looks like for us because I just don't want to be around the situation. And, you know, all the respect, all the love to him and no shade. But I just, when somebody hurts you to a certain extent, I don't want to be in that environment you know what i'm saying did y'all try therapy did y'all try to make amends or you was done you was like there's no therapy you was oh okay i followed the next day damn you what crystal followed the next day after hearing that breakfast clip really it wasn't it wasn't really no that is that is what prompted me to look around
Starting point is 00:53:06 how'd you get in his phone it was the same passcode all of his passcode well he wasn't trying to hide anything see some of them smart they put their phone out of their car yeah yeah she's been around for a minute i'll be like hold on where that other phone is so he was sleeping you just pick up the phone and just... Yeah. No, he was here. He was doing another interview. Yes, he was at the radio station. I was at the hotel. We was out in New York.
Starting point is 00:53:31 You was scrolling down. So when he came back... Hold on. Hold on, hold on, hold on. I was gone. I was gone. So by the time he got back to the hotel from the interview, you was on his head. I was gone.
Starting point is 00:53:41 I know. I didn't say anything. Oh, you left the... Oh, my God. And you didn't tell him nothing? You didn't tell him nothing? You just... No, I mean, he knew that his phone was missing, and so he realized and, you know... Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:53:53 You took the phone and left. I am a black woman. I am not dumb. You didn't screenshot everything and just leave. See, I would put it all back like nothing happened. Yeah. He didn't try to apologize or nothing. I mean, of course he apologized. And, you know, he didn't want me to get a divorce or whatever.
Starting point is 00:54:09 But he knows how I value myself. And he knows when I'm not playing. And in that situation, I think he just knew there was no coming back. You know, so it is what it is. I would love to know what he learned from that. We had a beautiful relationship, a beautiful marriage, a beautiful friendship. And I don't regret it. i don't take it back and i'm appreciative to the love that we did have because a lot of people don't experience the love like that that i had you know but that season is gone that that that chapter is closed and how long are y'all together almost 10 years
Starting point is 00:54:38 damn damn no i want to ask you to me because said earlier, Here I Stand flopped. And we were talking about Chance the Rapper. And you know, what happens when an artist makes an album dedicated to his wife? Like Here My Dear. Yeah, and the album,
Starting point is 00:54:53 this album is whack. The album was good, though. I thought it was great, but I'm saying... Here I Stand was a banging album. Yeah, it was. And let me tell you this. I'm going to say this.
Starting point is 00:55:00 This is in defense of him really quick. And I don't want to talk about his ass no more, okay? All right. That's it. That's it. Enough on Usher. Okay. but here i stand was so solid because he was ahead of his time he he got married before anybody before this was before j and b this is before justin
Starting point is 00:55:15 timberlake this is before he was a outlier in like trying to be mature and wear suits that suit and tie shit that was we did that already that already. Sorry, no offense, JT, but you know what I mean? Like we, we were trying to make him go to the next level. The fans weren't ready for him to evolve and get to that level. And then now it's cool. Everybody's married. And see,
Starting point is 00:55:35 we were just, we're ahead of our time. We did it too soon. So they were like, he married his old ass lady and she's whack. And that's that. And we hate him. And so here I stand, wasn't received the way it should have been, but it was solid songs on that album. this old ass lady and she's whack and that's that and we hate him and so
Starting point is 00:55:45 Here I Stand wasn't received the way it should have been but it was solid songs on that album solid album you said it flopped does that make you feel bad
Starting point is 00:55:51 I don't mean it flop flop but it didn't do a million copies in the first week like you know all the other albums did you blame yourself for that in some way
Starting point is 00:55:59 I didn't I think that I think I blame I think that the label pulled back on it real fast like they put it out and it wasn't received the way they thought. And I think they're just like, all right, let's hide that.
Starting point is 00:56:10 Tamika, stay home. Have a baby. Just don't come outside no more. Damn. They hate you. Yeah, no, I think I got a lot of backlash. Like you're making his whole thing flop. And I'm like, that dude's been married again and again after that.
Starting point is 00:56:24 You know what I mean? Is the goal for both of y'all, because y'all have so much going on it's the goal for both of y'all to get to a place where nobody asks you about them that is literally what i say i want the world to know crystal or not for what is impossible you know what i'm saying what and that's what people always say you don't want people to ask you about him but you still have his last name but i'm still another i'm still my own you know what i mean diane von furstenberg is diane von furstenberg she was married to count von furstenberg but she's still an amazing designer like this thing i i just again it's our community do you still do styling like that or not too much i have a clothing line called eli kish i will style certain artists if they have certain people if they have a budget it's not even artists it's just
Starting point is 00:57:04 if you have a budget and you can afford to pay me I'll style you are stylists a lost art now like you don't really see them as like growing up in the 2000s you'd see stylists see
Starting point is 00:57:14 yes it's a lost art it's a lost art styling is a lost art because it's so it's oversaturated with people who have taken the title you can work a gap
Starting point is 00:57:24 for three days and then you're a stylist. All you got to do is have a lint roll and a trench coat. You be like, I'm a stylist to the stars. I'm telling you, girl. That's an everybody. Lint roll and a trench coat. That's all you need. That's all you need.
Starting point is 00:57:35 You walk out and say you're the top stylist. I be looking like, who's this? That happens in every league. Listen, people can get, what, two viral videos. Now they're a comedian. Yeah, yeah. You can, you know, you can get a podcast. Now Now they're a comedian. Yeah, yeah. You can get a podcast. Now you're a radio personality.
Starting point is 00:57:47 Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I think it's oversaturation in every lane. Every lane. It probably is, huh? Yeah. Because you know why? Not too much on our people, but it's low-hanging fruit. You don't see too many people fighting to be scientists or doctors or lawyers.
Starting point is 00:58:02 You know what I'm saying? It requires a lot of work. It requires work and reading, like actual reading like read hello read if you would read no they want to do what's you know the easiest thing like oh i'm a stylist i love clothes that's not how it works yeah why so licious here put them on yeah yeah girl that's right all right thank you ladies for joining us yeah man make sure you are. Thank you all for coming. Scream bold and bougie on All Black right now. Go get Tameka, Tameka Raymond's book, Here I Stand.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Here I Stand in a Beautiful State. That's right. That's right. It's Crystal Renee and Tameka Foster. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Thank you. Morning, everybody.

Starting point is 00:58:55 News is real. News is real. News is real. News is real. something that nobody could get you to see it's time to set it off so this goes back to this first story goes back to what you briefly hinted on um this morning envy about the how people were taking the solar eclipse um and many different ways people were ending their lives and and all types of things i don't know if it was you or charlamagne that said it but this astrologer influence astrology influencer danielle johnson who was 34 she killed her boyfriend at their apartment around 3 40 a.m and then drove off with her two daughters who had just
Starting point is 00:59:30 witnessed the killing um neighbors said that they saw the door wide open and there was a trail of blood on the floor from their apartment leading up to the elevator but we have a news report on it nbc4's i-team has confirmed that danielle john Johnson was also known as Danielle Aoka online. Under this alias, Johnson made several disturbing posts. Some were anti-Semitic. Others warned about the solar eclipse, calling it the epitome of spiritual warfare. Hours before the solar eclipse on Monday, police say Johnson went on a rampage, killing her partner and throwing her children into traffic on the 405
Starting point is 01:00:04 and then crashing her car into traffic on the 405 and crashing her car into a tree on pch she she forced her two daughters in the vehicle after killing her boyfriend um and she was driving on highway 405 freeway in la the nine-year-old was holding the eighth month the eight-month-old when she forced them out the car, like threw them out the car. That's crazy. And her nine year old lost hold of the baby who was then struck by a vehicle on the freeway and was later pronounced dead. But the older girl did survive
Starting point is 01:00:32 and she was transported to a hospital. The mother, Johnson, then drove to Redondo Beach where she died after crashing her Porsche SUV into a tree at high speeds. Now people suspect that her actions may have something to do with her tweets. Her tweets on April 5th, she said, wake up, wake up.
Starting point is 01:00:50 The apocalypse is here. Everyone who has ears to listen, your time to choose what you believe is now. If you believe a new world is possible for the people, retweet now. There is power in choice. Repost, make the choice for the collective. But the day before that, it was like it was it was just a little conflicting because she said the eclipse is the epitome of spiritual warfare. Get your protection on and your heart in the right place. This world is very obviously changing right now.
Starting point is 01:01:17 And if you ever needed to pick aside the time to do right in your life is now. Stay strong. You got this with a heart. That was the day before. She was trying to convince herself. Yeah, trying to convince herself. This is why I stress investing in your mental health so much. Jesus.
Starting point is 01:01:30 I don't care how spiritual you claim to be. I don't care what astrology you into. Are you dealing with what's going on in your mind? Are you dealing with your emotions? Are you on your meds if you need them? That poor nine-year-old girl who has to live with that trauma for the rest of her life. Yeah, and probably grow up confused and grow up um no parents herself because she lost hold of her baby sister you know after she was forced out the car so yeah um just praying for her as well definitely
Starting point is 01:01:56 sending her healing energy yeah yeah um in other news nate robinson admits that he doesn't have long to live if he can't get a kidney replaced. Robinson was an 11-year, well, yeah, 11-year, I don't like how they had Woods. Like, uh-uh. 11-year NBA vet who played for the Knicks, the Celtics, and the Bulls. He was also a three-time dunk contest champion. And he was saying that he has kidney failure. He's going through dialysis and all of that.
Starting point is 01:02:32 And dialysis is pretty much the process that you go through where it filters waste products from your blood. But he also shared that he experiences painful vomiting as a result of his dialysis treatment, which often leaves him hospitalized for a day or two. That drains you as well. I remember my grandmother getting dialysis treatments three times a week, and she was tired for like a week after that. He told Malesport that, I know that I don't have long to live if I can't get a kidney. I know I'm not going to have long to live, so I just want to make the best of it as much as I can. Man, Nate Robinson, a virtually, relatively young man. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:05 Yeah, pretty young young he gotta be 39 yeah 39 39 nah sure good dude too man really good guy yeah
Starting point is 01:03:11 sending him healing energy as well absolutely he said he's just fortunate to say that he's alive like can just be alive right now you ain't got nothing happy over there huh yeah
Starting point is 01:03:19 yeah actually yes I do got something happy over here what Ice Spice is making her debut alongside her acting debut alongside Denzel Washington and Spike Lee. Now, don't act like you was happy about that. I'm not.
Starting point is 01:03:32 But I'm saying. Don't even get on this radio and act like you was happy about that. Well, you asked me, did I have anything happy over there? This is happier than the last two damn stories. Yes, that is true. I love happier than the last two damn stories. That is true. I love to see Spike Lee do his thing. Because it's so many actors and actresses that work hard
Starting point is 01:03:52 and they go to acting school and they're trying to get these jobs with auditions and all that. Like Jessica Robin Moore. But we don't know what her part's going to be. That's what I told Jessica earlier. I don't care if she's standing at the bodega, she's working at the bodega, she's walking she handed denzel some papers it's like what what
Starting point is 01:04:08 if she does giving denzel a bacon egg and cheese in the movie first of all by the way what if she's a better actor than rapper or what if what if she is a rapper in the movie though we don't know okay that's nice what if she's somewhere in denzel listening to munch and she performed i have no idea i have no idea. I have no idea. But the name of the movie is called High and Low. The movie is about an executive of a shoe company who faces extortion after his chauffeur's son is mistakenly captured and taken hostage for ransom. So to sound like taken or to equalize her.
Starting point is 01:04:38 Sound like she's a star. What if she's the person who get kidnapped? She don't got to say nothing. Yeah. I'm just saying. We don't know her role. I don't know. She might be good on camera. She clearly is good on camera,
Starting point is 01:04:50 right? Cause yeah. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, the running interview show where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs,
Starting point is 01:05:02 and more after those runs, the conversations keep going. that's what my podcast post run high is all about it's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories their journeys and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together you know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout? It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all.
Starting point is 01:05:41 It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So y'all, this is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out.
Starting point is 01:06:18 Hey, y'all. Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Historical Records brings history to life through hip hop. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to historical records, because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to historical records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. She looks good on camera. She's good on the music. She's good on music. She's good on the music. She's good on music.
Starting point is 01:07:27 And she's a beautiful girl. Yeah. No, listen. We can't hate our music. Our music is... I ain't say nothing. It's her music. It was just the way you looked.
Starting point is 01:07:34 I'm 45. It ain't for me. Yeah, all right. Cool. But I like her music. I like her face. She has a nice little curly orange hairdo. It's nice.
Starting point is 01:07:41 But I have a right. Like me and other actors have the right when we see stuff like this and headlines ice spice is making her debut and do you know how many knows yeah how many like how many hoops you gotta jump through she might have went to actor school i bet you she didn't oh yeah but i'm just saying and and yeah ice spice is cool i respect this yeah absolutely doing her thing i just don't like music that degrades people. You know, you're reducing men to just munches. You are a munch.
Starting point is 01:08:08 We're so much more than that. You are a munch. Who's side are you on? Hmm? Who's side are you on? I'm a munch. Huh? I'm more than a munch.
Starting point is 01:08:16 I am not just my mouth. Oh yeah, you a pussy. No, no I'm not. I have one. Okay. It just hasn't been activated yet. Don't take Jess's line from yesterday. It's okay.
Starting point is 01:08:28 I like that line. I'm sure you do. I'm sure you've activated quite a few busies in your lifetime, haven't you? What are you talking about? That is just a mess for the first hour. I ain't got nothing to do with that. That's how I sound? Goodbye.
Starting point is 01:08:44 I hate y'all. Who you giving your booster to, man? Listen, four after the hour, we need Wild James Weeks to come in front of the congregation. We'd like to have a word with him. He's a Florida man. Wild James. All right. And then after that, don't forget, Jess Fix My Mess.
Starting point is 01:08:57 800-585-1051. If you need relationship advice or any type of advice, call Jess right now. She'll help you out with all your problems. All right, Donkey. The day's up next. It's breakfast club good morning wake up wake up you're locked into the breakfast club make sure you tell them to watch out for florida man the craziest people in america come from the bronx and all of florida yes you are a donkey a florida man attacked an ATM for a very strange reason. It gave him too much money. Florida man is arrested after deputies say he rigged the door to his home in an attempt to electrocute his pregnant wife.
Starting point is 01:09:32 Police arrested an Orlando man for attacking a flamingo. Put the breakfast club, bitchy. Donkey of the day. When Charlamagne the guy. I don't know why y'all keep letting him get y'all like this. Nope, it's not me, it's Florida. Donkey of the day for Thursday, April 11th goes to a Florida man named Wiley James Weeks. Now, what does your Uncle Sharla always say about the great state of Florida?
Starting point is 01:09:52 The craziest people in America come from the Bronx and all of Florida, and today is no exception. See, St. Petersburg cops allege that Wiley James Weeks was drunk, unsteady on his feet. He wasn't getting sturdy, and he smelled of liquor. That right there will always get you a drunken disorderly charge in America. But you add on to that the fact that he was butt ass naked sitting in the trash can on a public sidewalk. You are absolutely going to jail. Now, Wiley went caught, didn't even try to blame it on the alcohol. Nope. Wiley said he was not subject to arrest because he was allowed to be drunk and disorderly and sit naked in a trash can on a public sidewalk.
Starting point is 01:10:28 You don't have to listen to me or believe me. Let's go to the New York Daily News report, please. A 35-year-old Florida man taken into custody over the weekend told police he believed he was allowed to be drunk and disorderly and sit naked in a trash can on the public sidewalk. Wiley James Weeks was found that way late Saturday night when he also refused to identify himself on the grounds he was being illegally detained in downtown St. Petersburg. Weeks was charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer without violence. This isn't even Wiley's first time doing this. He's got a long rap sheet and one of his prior bust busts came after weeks and a male friend were spotted drunk and naked on a Tampa street after they exited a bar. Wiley has watched Sesame Street one too many times. If you feel that you like to be drunk and naked and living in a trash can, you, my friend, have been diagnosed with what doctors at South Carolinaolina state university have called otgs commonly referred to as oscar the grouch syndrome if you want to know
Starting point is 01:11:30 the doctor's name from south carolina state who did this study look no further dr lenard mckelvey okay i have an honorary doctorate from south carolina state so i am able to have these studies here's the thing you may not have known about oscar the grouch okay so this is something you may not have known about oscar the grouch okay? So this is something you may not have known about Oscar the Grouch, right? He had antisocial personality disorder, which is why he was shown to lack empathy and loves to lie to others in order to manipulate them. His irritability or grouchiness is another way this manifested, okay? Or maybe he's just mad he's naked living in a trash can while the rest of y'all living life like it's golden on Sesame Street. Why am I bringing this up? Because I keep seeing people refer to wiley james as oscar the grouch and i'm like no no oscar had it way worse because wiley seems to be making these dumb ass choices to live
Starting point is 01:12:18 like this wiley is making these dumb ass choices to get drunk in these florida streets and then take off perfectly good good clothes and go sit in trash cans okay he's making a choice poor choices based off alcohol to break the law when I look at this man's rap sheet just go to the smoking gun website it says it overflows okay it says his rap sheet overflows with theft disorderly conduct panhandling criminal mischief and other misdemeanor convictions this man is a career misdemeanor and i'm not talking missy elliott so don't compare him to oscar the grouch from sesame street okay oscar was a grouch not a misdemeanor oscar was a lot of things okay he was miserable he was argumentative he was unhygienic rude but he didn't have a rap
Starting point is 01:13:00 sheet sspd sesame street police department never had to arrest oscar for anything so don't compare him to a human making poor drunken choices in florida now wiley pleaded guilty to both counts of being drunk naked and disorderly and he was fined 520 question how is this gonna fix the problem this man is clearly an alcoholic who doesn't need to keep getting arrested and adding stripes to his rap sheet. He needs to be sentenced to mandatory rehab for alcohol. This is the problem I have with this country. We truly don't know how to even fix problems.
Starting point is 01:13:36 Okay, this man don't need to keep getting arrested. He needs help. But you know what? If Oscar the Grouch was never provided help on Sesame Street, Sesame Street, a place where folks went to develop early language, literacy skills, vocabulary, and reading and writing fundamentals, if he, Oscar the Grouch, couldn't get help there, why would I expect for this man to get help on a Florida street?
Starting point is 01:13:58 Please give Wiley James Weeks the sweet sounds of the Hamiltons. Oh, now you are the donkey of the day. You are the donkey of the day. Yee-haw. We don't care about
Starting point is 01:14:20 people like we say we do. This man got kinks, though. This man was spotted leaving a bar with his male friend and then him and the male friend got drunk on a tampa street drunken naked on a tampa street sounds like they couldn't wait to me my personal opinion wait for what said i got behind closed doors couldn't wait for his pussy to get activated that's what you couldn't wait for okay since you always want to ask these stupid questions you know exactly what
Starting point is 01:14:53 i mean but you just want things spelled out for no damn reason okay always remember a butt is just a pussy waiting to get activated all right all right well thank you for that donkey today sir yes indeed alright when we come back Jess Fix My Mess 800-585-1051 if you're having some relationship problems
Starting point is 01:15:13 you're having some issues call Jess right now she's not an expert at anything but she has some experiences yes I'm always a hater please call up here
Starting point is 01:15:19 and let me know what you're going through that's right it's the Breakfast Club good morning the Breakfast Club tell her maybe it's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Tell us, tell us, baby.
Starting point is 01:15:30 It's the real deal. Help me. Help me. Oh my God. I'm all up in your mess. I'ma fix it. Fix it. Fix my mess. Fix it. Fix it. Jess gon' fix your mess, cause my advice is real.
Starting point is 01:15:41 Morning, everybody. We are The Breakfast Club. It's time for Jess Fix My Mess. We got a lot of people on the lines. 800-585-1051. Hello, who's this? Hello, can you hear me? Oh, my gosh. I can hear you.
Starting point is 01:15:50 Oh, my gosh. What's your name? Dukes. Like Daisy Dukes. Daisy Dukes. Look at them girls and the Daisy Dukes. Look at that girl with Daisy Dukes on. I want you, Duke. You can tell your uncle's old.
Starting point is 01:15:59 So what's your question for Jess, Mama? Okay, so I recently moved back to Michigan from Atlanta to move in with my 70-year-old uncle because he's old and no one is there to take care of him. And so I installed some cameras, and now he's thinking that I'm spying on him. Also, he's Jamaican. He thinks I'm spying on him and that I am trying to, I don't know what he thinks I'm trying to do. But he's threatening to walk around naked and teach me a lesson. So you install cameras and now he feels uncomfortable with the fact that you have cameras.
Starting point is 01:16:37 And so he wants to teach you a lesson and walk around naked in hopes that you will take the cameras down? I guess so. He's threatening to teach me a lesson. And I'm like, do you will take the cameras down? I guess so. He's threatening to teach me a lesson. And I'm like, do I just take the cameras out? It's for everyone's safety. He's old. He be falling down and stuff.
Starting point is 01:16:53 Oh, okay, okay. So you put the cameras in the house just to see when you're not there what goes on. Yeah. Okay. I'm going to be honest with you. I don't know what to tell you to do about that. I really do not. I mean. That's the most honest I've ever heard somebody on anybody yeah I don't know I don't know but just for his health I mean did you get hidden cameras don't leave him up
Starting point is 01:17:16 yeah why would you put him in a place where you know he can see him he he he obviously ain't see now he know exactly what's going on. So I did put them in a place where he could and couldn't see them. The home health care people came and they said, oh, you have cameras now. And he was like, what? I do? And I was like, oh, my God. Why would I say that? Okay.
Starting point is 01:17:40 But listen, if he's 70 years old and he keeps falling and that can help him in any type of way, keep him up. I mean, it ain't like you want to calm him down, take him down. He can stay mad at you. He won't stay mad forever. Okay, but what about him trying to walk around naked and I'm going to be like, that's nasty. That's your uncle. I'm pretty sure you don't have to change him and stuff like that. That's why we got whole health care people.
Starting point is 01:18:02 Girl, that's all I got for you. Leave it up. Just leave him up. I mean, that's his house got for you. Leave it up. Just leave him up. I mean, that's his house. He won't walk around naked. He's 70. Yeah, like, you know. Hello, who's this? Chassidy. Hey, Chassidy. What's your question for Jess? How long did you... Oh, how's the question go?
Starting point is 01:18:18 How long should a person wait until the man asks her out? How long should a person wait until her man asks her out? Yeah, like you guys are talking for a little while. Mm-hmm. How long until you either walk away
Starting point is 01:18:30 or you give the man the ultimatum, like, are you going to ask me out or what? Hmm, well, it depends on the person. I mean, it depends on if they want a relationship. I mean, how long do you think a talking period should be? Are you on the waiting list
Starting point is 01:18:42 you feel like right now? Am I on the waiting list? It's just us talking. Okay, all right. But you feel like you're the waiting list you feel like right now am i on the waiting list it's just us talking okay all right but you feel like you waiting to be asked out right yeah i feel like i'm at this point like we've met each other's family and all that okay so how long has it been like three and a half months okay so then is that a conversation that you had with him like hey okay so where do you see us like what do you see us going from here what are we doing from here we've already met each other's families do you do this with other people you talk to you know before you say that just be like where where is your where are you in the process with us moving forward um like
Starting point is 01:19:15 because i don't just let anybody meet my family and i i would think that you would neither so just just ask him have you talked to him about it yes what he's saying um like he wants us to be together he speaks about the future he speaks about engagement marriage and what kind of wedding do i want and all this stuff but you haven't asked me out yet well make it make it an issue not making an issue give them, I hate the word ultimatum. It's like, oh, just putting the obligation on somebody. But I think you should definitely have another talk with them. Be like, okay, if we're talking about our future together, we've met each other's families. We're talking about the type of wedding that you want to give me.
Starting point is 01:19:59 What is holding you back? Or what is a potential roadblock that's preventing us from moving forward as with a title like his boyfriend or girlfriend I think you should ask them like straight up like that don't be too defensive don't come off too you know tense but just a regular conversation again okay again yes yeah but the question that you initially asked how long do you think it depends on a person. See, I didn't know that y'all met each other's families. I don't, because three months may feel like,
Starting point is 01:20:29 may be like not long enough for some people, but three and a half months with the kind of things that y'all are doing, yeah, you should be on your way to being somebody's girlfriend. Okay, thank you. No problem, girl. All right, good luck, mama. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:20:40 Jazz Fix My Mess, 800-585-1051. If you got a question for Jess, call her now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. X about me. Relationship problems. X about me. You need to beat your co-worker's ass.
Starting point is 01:20:51 X about me. Your co-worker need to beat your ass. Call it up. Tell him I made it. It's Dr. Jess, and I'm here to fix your mess. Fix your mess. It's getting very much messy. Let me fix it.
Starting point is 01:21:01 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're in the middle of Jess Fix My Mess. much messy let me fix this morning everybody is dj envy jess hilarious shalameen the guy we are the breakfast club we're in the middle of just fix my mess and we have anonymous on the line anonymous good morning hello hello what's your question for jess all right so my question is basically how do i handle my my mama still wanting to be in my ex-girlfriend's baby life, even though my current girlfriend isn't okay with it. Okay, so your mom is still attached to your ex? Baby, right. Because I was in her life since she was less than six months, brought her around, everything.
Starting point is 01:21:36 So it's like an attachment, but my current girlfriend feels some mess, like, no, I'm not going for it. Like, that's weird. Okay, so what goes on between you and the ex? What is she really afraid of? Because it can't be the little baby. It got to be, what, is the ex, have you and the ex got caught up before with your new girlfriend? Or what's going on? Is it, did she hit you?
Starting point is 01:21:58 Did she hit you up in appropriate times? Nah, when me and her broke up, she was, like, on some crazy mess. Like, oh, I don't ever want you around my baby. F you, F that. Like, just going crazy. But in her defense, it was, oh, she was just mad. It was what? She was just mad.
Starting point is 01:22:17 Right, right, right. In her defense, right. When she threatened you to, where you can't see the baby anymore, what did you do? How did you respond to that? Did you beg to see her? Did you kind of play into her hands? No, I was just chill. I was just chill.
Starting point is 01:22:32 But her and my mama still kept communicating. So she still allowed my mama to be in her life and get her and see her and stuff. But my girlfriend feel like my mama trying. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more.
Starting point is 01:22:54 After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about.
Starting point is 01:23:26 It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, y'all, this is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates
Starting point is 01:23:49 and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nemany, to tell you all about it.
Starting point is 01:24:07 Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all. Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand-new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone Bash, bam, another one gone The crack of the bat and another one gone through hip-hop. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history,
Starting point is 01:24:36 like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was called a woman. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to historical records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. To secretly keep me and like, because you know my attachment to the baby.
Starting point is 01:25:19 Yeah. And obviously your mother is taking on the role of a grandmother to this child, right? Right. Right. So, she is attached. Have you had a conversation with your mother? Because that ain't even between you and the baby mother no more. That's between you and your mother, especially if your current girlfriend has a problem with that.
Starting point is 01:25:42 It's more of a conversation with your mom. Did you have a conversation with her? I did, but she's like, you know, she's attached to the baby now. Like, how can you at least admit that she's not there anymore? Yeah, your mother can certainly be attached to the baby without doing too much with the mother and having too much to do with you
Starting point is 01:25:58 and the mother of the child. You get what I'm saying? Yeah. Yeah, so it seems like cuz I can I can tell you exactly what I feel like is going on the baby mother come over there with the baby and be talking you know about you and how she miss you I she wants her family back and your mother is playing into that cuz she's the grandmother to the child and but you got this girlfriend that's in the way and
Starting point is 01:26:24 and if I'm and if the mom is already taking a liking to the child and uh but you got this girlfriend that's in the way and and if i'm and if the mom is already taking a liking to the mother of the child she ain't really particularly care for your girlfriend is that right do your mother and your girlfriend got a relationship no right so that's what it is is it's the point now because your mother's playing a bigger role than she needs to play that's what it is catalyst is your mom's bro yeah i don't know what to say you gotta go at your mother but you got you definitely gotta have a conversation with her even if it's just mind your business mind just mind your business get your granddaughter take her back to her mother whatever stop listening to the to what her mom is feeding you
Starting point is 01:27:02 you know what i'm saying because if i was girlfriend, I would feel intimidated by that too. Your mother don't even want a relationship with me because she's so stuck on your ex and the baby. Right, right, right. Definitely get that on lock though. Good luck, mama. I appreciate it. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 01:27:17 You definitely get to a certain age where you can tell your parents they wrong. Absolutely. You can definitely tell your parents to fall back. You know? Because they old school. Yeah. Now, Jess you can definitely tell your parents to fall back. Yeah. You know? They old school. Yeah. Now,
Starting point is 01:27:26 Jess, what the mess is coming up? Deion Sanders reacts to his daughter being pregnant. Okay.
Starting point is 01:27:31 Alright, we'll get to that next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Yep,
Starting point is 01:27:38 it's the world's most dangerous morning show, The Breakfast Club. Charlamagne Tha God, Jess Hilarious, DJ Envy's around here somewhere,
Starting point is 01:27:43 but now it's time for Jess with the best. News is real, Wes. Jess Hilarious, DJ Envy's around here somewhere, but now it's time for Jess with the best. The news is real, Wes. Jess Hilarious, Jessica Robin Moore, Jess don't do no lying. She don't spare nobody. Worldwide Jess, worldwide message. On The Breakfast Club. She's a culture shift.
Starting point is 01:28:01 She was able to get y'all to see something and understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to set it all. Okay, so Deion Sanders reacts to his daughter, Deondrea, recently revealing her pregnancy. He sat down with People Magazine to speak on how he feels about becoming a first-time grandpa. Oh, I love that. I love the first-time grandparents because my boyfriend's mother is the first time grandmother too. When I have this baby, she's just going to hold it and love it and everything. I love that.
Starting point is 01:28:30 Okay. He said, I haven't digested that whole thing yet. The only reason why I'm going to be, I guess I'm gonna be a little bit messy here. The only reason why I can say he haven't digested the whole thing is probably because who's the baby, who the baby's by and surrounding all the drama that had to happen around the reveal of her pregnancy. Um, DeAndrea, she revealed that her pregnancy was, um, was real on March 8th. But this was after rapper Dreezy got into it with her ex-boyfriend Jacquees. And she had said, uh, that like basically as a clap back. Oh, girl.
Starting point is 01:29:03 Yeah, you pregnant. You got that baby or something, something like that. So that's when girl yeah you pregnant you got that baby or something something like that so that's when we were tipped off about the baby but he did go on
Starting point is 01:29:10 to say her father said I'm proud of my baby that she's at least waited until her 30s to give me this gift of life
Starting point is 01:29:18 yeah I don't think Dionne cared about all that messy stuff I just think it's the fact that that's still your little girl no matter how old your daughter gets
Starting point is 01:29:24 you still look at her and you're like that's my little girl. And now you're like, damn, I'm about to be a granddaddy. That's a whole other hit after the daughter. Because you're like, I know I'm old. Well, yeah, that still is. Yeah, that still is very relevant
Starting point is 01:29:40 in the fact, because that's his daughter. So all the drama, definitely feel like you care about it. But he don't care too much to dive into it but yeah if it's some drama I ain't even know who's the healthy baby
Starting point is 01:29:49 right now I ain't know nothing about the drama I ain't know nothing about it you did I sat across from you and reported it
Starting point is 01:29:54 so but anyway in other news actors support Romeo and Juliet star Francesca Ameywuda Rivers
Starting point is 01:30:01 what's her name right her name is Francesca Ameywuda Rivers that's not her name is francesca amiruda rivers that's not her name absolutely absolutely absolutely is i think she stuck it yes after racial abuse so after the announcement of francesca being casted as juliet in the theater production of romeo and juliet with tom holland who is so hot she has been the subject of of online abuse okay a lot of people in the comments were saying like she's unattractive
Starting point is 01:30:27 you know ugly and she's dark and all that type of stuff right but uh jamie lloyd company which is a theater company um they wrote a letter in support of amiruda rivers and they said we want to send a clear message to francesca and black women performers who face this kind of abuse we see you we see the art you manage to produce with not only the pressures that your white colleagues face, but with the added traumatic hurdle of misogynoir. That's what it's saying. I ain't never seen it. I know what misogyny and misogynist is, but it said misogynoir.
Starting point is 01:30:59 Misogynoir. O-I-R is at the end of it. At this point, you got to put that into the marketing plan, right? Because it's old at this point. Like whenever they announce, you know, a black person, especially a black woman for a role, I guess that's typically for a white woman, social media activates. Whether or not it's real people or bots or whatever it is. But, you know, you kind of got to put that into the marketing plan.
Starting point is 01:31:20 Because the algorithm don't know the difference. Just make sure they're hashtagging Romeo and Juliet. Yeah, yeah. But more than 800 black actors have signed an open letter to support Francesca. So I do love that. Yeah, but Shane dropped out the role. She's like, I'm going to do this. As she should.
Starting point is 01:31:35 As she should. Next to Tom Holland. I'm going to let a bunch of strangers on social media and a bunch of bots run me from a great role. To take my life. Hell no. Who's still going to come and see it? Still going to come and see it. Still going to come and see it. I don't know if they're going to come and see it now,
Starting point is 01:31:46 but who cares? I mean, you don't even know how many people, how many of those people are even real. Yeah. And they probably will go see it just to hate on it. That's what I'm saying. The algorithm don't know the difference.
Starting point is 01:31:56 Hashtag Romeo and Juliet. Hashtag the young lady's name. Okay. Type her name out. The algorithm do not know the difference. Yeah. Well, Romeo and Juliet opens May 23rd
Starting point is 01:32:05 and will play through August 3rd. And I hope all of those people that are clapping back against those bots and those online critics, y'all better show up and support the movie.
Starting point is 01:32:14 Absolutely. Y'all better make sure y'all have butts in those seats. Because if not, then you give them another reason to say this is why you can't cast black people
Starting point is 01:32:21 for those roles. It didn't work. Excuse me. I had a little bit of indigestion. Okay. Andy Cohen announces BravoCon will not be held this year, but will return to Las Vegas in 2025. So it's no secret why Andy Cohen revealed that this will not be happening this year, but it will pick back up November 14th to November 16th at Caesars Farm in 2025.
Starting point is 01:32:42 This came after the announcements of the lawsuits by former stars alleging workplace harassment and discrimination. Instead of BravoCon, there will be other events in 2024 where fans get to meet their favorite Bravo stars, though. Bravo says that the event will offer advanced screenings and sneak peeks of other networks on upcoming shows. I don't blame them. They had to cancel. Absolutely. Can't have the fun we usually have.
Starting point is 01:33:07 Maybe next year when the heat cools off. Yeah, but why if he just doesn't go? Because BravoCon is bigger than Andy Cohen. There's a lot of people that just love the shows on Bravo, right? And get to meet the cast members and get to meet the people and get sneak peeks. Probably too many questions would be asked. But to be honest with you,
Starting point is 01:33:21 this is what I report at the beginning of the week, BravoCon is like Andy Cohen. You get what I'm saying? Because he made Bravo Con what it is. So we can't, you know what I'm saying. We can't do that. But yeah, that's amazing. So that's, oh yeah, that's the news, y'all.
Starting point is 01:33:37 Oh, I still got some time left. That's just what it is. Okay, so look. Hold up before you do your little finger. Look, Chris Brown is dropping a deluxe album today to the original one. He getting ready for this tour. All right. I thought I did see a new song get released.
Starting point is 01:33:54 Yes, it's a deluxe. Wait, is it a deluxe song or a deluxe album? Hold on, I can't get no Chris Brown. It's a deluxe song. I thought it was a deluxe album. Yeah, it's a deluxe album. Deluxe album arrives today. Which song's from the original?
Starting point is 01:34:09 What album? The 11-11 album? Yeah, 11-11. Yeah, because that's the tour he on. Okay. Yeah, so y'all make sure y'all drop that today. And look, also, bump that glow. Bump that glow, really, y'all.
Starting point is 01:34:20 I'm not talking about just the singles. I'm talking about it's a no-skip album. Y'all need to play that the album is bumping um features like money bag yo up on there finesse two times it's it's a lot it's a lot going on the album i did my makeup to the album the other day i was working out to it last yesterday it was lit why why did you listen to it though because what he's moving that bullshit because i told you to yes old man that's right yes all right let's go that's one of them songs i really like what's the one name of it will she be saying ain't no she me i think i feel like she say that every song yeah it's the hook i think the hook is oh i think it's
Starting point is 01:34:55 called no b oh yeah it's right it probably is i want to curse but yeah it's no no b no okay i got you all right make sure you play you need to play that in your mix, too. Which one? Play Wannabe with Glorilla and Megan Thee Stallion. Megan floated on that record, by the way. Not you got a lot of mixes and a segment. I know that's right. Yo, shut up, man.
Starting point is 01:35:14 Let's get to the mix right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. You're checking out The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club breakfast club now we got a salute to uh tamika foster and crystal renee crystal renee for joining us this morning
