After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Executive produced by Questlove, The Story Pirates, and John Glickman, Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was Claudette Colvin. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone. This is Courtney Thorne-Smith, Laura Layton, and Daphne Zuniga. On July 8, 1992, apartment buildings with pools were never quite the same as Melrose Place was introduced to the world. The Breakfast Club is the most powerful, popular, urban radio show in America. Made it! Live from the Black Mothership in New York City, DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and Jess Hilarious. Thank y'all for being cultural leaders, man. I appreciate what y'all do for the culture. Collectively known as...
Starting point is 00:03:39 Breakfast Club, bitches! I'm always nervous when I do The Breakfast Club because sometimes you say stuff and it's just going to get you drunk. Everybody wake up. Good morning, USA. Guess what day it is? Hump Day! Good morning! Yes, Wednesday, Hump Day, middle of the week. How are you feeling?
Starting point is 00:04:11 I feel blessed, black, and highly favored. Another day to serve. Did Drake drop again? He didn't drop again? No. Damn. No. No Drake, no Kendrick.
Starting point is 00:04:19 I had a whole vision in my head. I had a whole vision in my head because, you know, Kendrick Lamar is on the clock, right? So we're waiting for Kendrick Lamar's response. But I had a whole vision in my head since you know Kendrick Lamar is on the clock right so we're waiting for Kendrick Lamar's response but I had a whole vision in my head since Drake dropped Saturday I thought he was going to come back again and drop the day
Starting point is 00:04:30 back to back part two I waited four days y'all where Dot at I thought we was going to get that today oh me Mike me Mike there's still 24 hours
Starting point is 00:04:38 left right well not 24 but you know what I mean I can't take you serious with those headphones did you order new headphones yet no no I want to feel the struggle that is so sad I want to feel the struggle. That is so sad.
Starting point is 00:04:45 I want to feel the struggle. It's so bad. We keep forgetting. How you feeling, Jess? You right. I'm feeling good. Yo, look. I ran.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I ran here. Because I don't like getting here after sex. I don't like, don't play no intro for me. I want to be like, good morning. Right? And the baby tightened up. Like, my stomach tightened up. I was like, all right, I got to chill.
Starting point is 00:05:03 You got to chill. I got to skip. You got to walk fast. Yeah, yeah. I was sprinting, like, all right, I got to chill. You got to chill. I got to skip. You got to walk fast. Yeah, yeah. I was sprinting, though. You know what I'm saying? Because I'm real athletic. But the baby is not yet.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Not yet. So, here go mom again. Here go mom running in here again. If it ain't a twerk, it's a goddamn run. It's a sprint early in the morning. All right. And let me shout out Lakeisha. Lakeisha from the American Dream Mall.
Starting point is 00:05:24 So, my kids have spring break this week. And the way they did spring break this year, I don't know why the kids don't have them at the same time. So my girls have it this week. So every day I try to do something different. Yesterday I went to go see, well, Monday I went to go see Kung Fu Panda 4 3D. And yesterday I took them skiing at the American Dream Mall. So they have an indoor skiing thing. And it was different. That was so lit. It was different. I took them skiing. Oh yeah. At the American Dream Mall. So they have an indoor skiing thing. And it was different. I was so lit.
Starting point is 00:05:47 It was different. I don't ski. I don't know how to ski. You never did before? No. So I just go down and then when it's time to stop I fall. That's it. That's what it was. But they had an amazing time. So salute to everybody at the American Dream Mall. We spent the whole day there. Shout out to Miles and everybody over there.
Starting point is 00:06:03 I appreciate you guys. Now today on the show Will.i. to Miles and everybody over there. I appreciate you guys. Now, today on the show, Will.i.am will be joining us. Let me tell you something. That's a person that every time I sit down and talk to, I learn something. So, I know that if I learn something, hopefully some of our listeners learn something, too. And today, he's here to talk about his new company, FYIAI.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Correct. Which is an AI based company. Yes. Yes. Yes. I can't wait to talk to Will.i.am. And he's always in the future. Always in the future. It's 2024. Will.i.am is probably like 2029. Yep. 2034. Something like that. So we're going to chop it up with Will.i.am in a little bit.
Starting point is 00:06:36 And when we come back, we got front page news. We'll tell you about Donald Trump. It was day two of his ass being in court and after he pulled up at the bodega. Oh, I know. That's right. We'll tell you about it when we come back. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:06:48 Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Start off with some quick sports. Now, yesterday, the Lakers won. They grabbed the seventh seed. I watched that game last night.
Starting point is 00:07:01 The Kings knocked out the Warriors, so the Warriors are not in the playoffs. They are home right now. The Warriors will not be making the playoffs. Might be the best thing for them, though. You think so? Yeah, get in the draft, get a little younger. What did it do with Klay Thompson? I mean, for me, man, you can't trade a person like Klay Thompson
Starting point is 00:07:18 because Klay Thompson has been there for a long time. So Klay Thompson either should retire a warrior or take less money. Just stay on the team. Right. You know? I mean, you know, you go, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:07:30 he went 0 for everything last night. 0 for everything last night, yeah. You know what I'm saying? You ain't score a point in a game like that. You know? We love you, Clay.
Starting point is 00:07:37 But you've made a lot of money with us. Nothing. I don't even know what the trade value is at this point. Just being honest. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:44 You know? So, what do you do? I would tell him, take less money, stay a warrior, retire a warrior. We always got a role for you off the bench here. Absolutely. You know? Well, Blake Griffin announced his retirement from the NBA after 14 years, so congratulations to him. Good.
Starting point is 00:07:59 Another light-skinned guy gone from the league. Yo, shut up. I like to see light-skinned people losing. Clay went 0 for something yesterday. Blake retired. What's wrong with you? How Clay went 0 for something yesterday. Blake retired. What's wrong with you? How do you feel like he lost? Blake Griffin.
Starting point is 00:08:08 How do you feel like he lost? Well, he retired. He retired. I like to see light-skinned people losing. No, he retired. Yeah, he didn't lose. He retired. And they also announced the USA basketball roster for 2024 Olympics.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant, Jason Tatum, Devin Booker, Tyrese Halliburton, Anthony Edwards, Drew Holiday, Anthony Davis. Salute to Bron, salute to Steph Curry, salute to Kevin Durant. Them guys are troopers. I heard Kawhi Leonard just signed on. All of y'all troopers because all of y'all old. Ain't no way I'd be wasting my summer. All these young boys in the league. You better go send Zion and Jive and all the rest of them.
Starting point is 00:08:47 But salute to y'all for wanting to hold it down for Team USA. Now, yesterday was also trending. Kaitlyn Clark talking about her salary. She's going to make $338,000 over four years. Being the number one pick, Victor W woman bomber, he secured a $55 million four-year contract and people were saying that she should earn
Starting point is 00:09:07 a lot more. Even President Biden wrote about it, but it's, at the end of the day, I agree, but it's a business. We have to support
Starting point is 00:09:14 the WNBA. We have to go out there and go to the games, sell the games out, continue to buy the jerseys and make sure we support the WNBA like we support the NBA
Starting point is 00:09:24 and when that happens, I'm sure those women will make a lot more money. She broke the jersey sales record too. Yeah she did. Top selling WNBA jersey. Yo that is what's up Now yesterday was day two in the Trump trial. Yesterday
Starting point is 00:09:40 they picked seven jurors out of five and then after he pulled up at the bodega well this is the jurors that were picked. What had been a very slow jury selection process gained considerable steam late today. The seven jurors seated in the historic trial are four men and three women, including a nurse who said in court, no one is above the law. I am here for my civic duty. And a teacher who claims she was not
Starting point is 00:10:06 very interested in politics and did not have strong opinions on Donald Trump. The foreperson who will help guide deliberations for the jury is a salesman originally from Ireland who now lives in West Harlem. Tensions flared when the judge, Juan Merchan, heard Trump audibly uttering something as his attorney questioned a potential juror. The judge chastised Trump's behavior, saying, I won't tolerate that. I will not have any jurors intimidated in this courtroom. I don't understand why they feel like they can trust any of these jurors. This guy is literally one of the most famous people on the planet, if not the most famous person. He ran for president of the United States of America twice.
Starting point is 00:10:46 That means tens of millions of people have voted for him. You either voted for him or you voted against him. You're not sitting there telling me you're not interested in politics. Even if you're not interested in politics, you have an opinion of this man one way or the other. Absolutely. You just do. Let ChatGPT do it, man.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Can AI be biased? Are we ready for AI jurors yet? do. Let Chad GPT do it, man. Let Chad GPT say he's guilty. Can AI be biased? Are we ready for AI jurors yet? Can they be objective? I don't know. I mean, if you put all the facts in and... I don't know, man. But then the facts are based on somebody too, right? I guess. That's true.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Well, after trial, most people would go home and take a nap, get something to eat. Well, he went to a bodega and did a press conference in a bodega outside the bodega. But there's a reason why he went to a particular bodega, and this is the reason. Crowds of spectators lined the streets of Hamilton Heights Tuesday as former President Donald Trump left his own criminal trial to go on the offensive against the man leading his prosecution. He visited the bodega where in 2022,
Starting point is 00:11:46 store clerk Jose Alba stabbed an attacker, then got brought up on murder charges by District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office. There's no crime. You know where the crime is? In the bodegas where they come and rob them every week. At the time, Alba told us in an exclusive interview that he was acting in self-defense.
Starting point is 00:12:05 After public criticism and further investigation, Bragg ultimately dropped the charges. Alvin Bragg does nothing. He goes after guys like Trump, who did nothing wrong. Trump was invited to the convenience store by the Bodega Association, whose workers told the former president the changes they'd like to see. That's going to go a long way. You know, day two of Donald Trump being in court and another day of Donald Trump taking up all the news. Everybody does a great job of reporting on anything Trump,
Starting point is 00:12:33 but couldn't tell me nothing President Biden did yesterday. Then you wonder why people say things like, what is Biden doing? What has Biden done? I don't know because y'all don't tell us because every move Trump makes, y'all cover. Well, okay. We're covering the news that y'all cover. is no court date so maybe donald trump will be quiet today no never it's not what he does not who he is all right well that is front page news now get it off your chest 800-585-1051 if you need to vent phone lines are wide open
Starting point is 00:12:59 again 800-585-1051 get it off off your chest. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. This is your time to get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? What's up, man? This is Dre. How y'all doing?
Starting point is 00:13:21 Dre, what up? What's up, Dre? Nothing much, man. Shout out to Jeff from Baltimore. I'm asking you, sir. What's up, Dre? Nothing much, man. Shout out to Jess Baltimore. I'm asking you shortly, bro. What's up, man? I mean, you all right? Nah, nah.
Starting point is 00:13:29 You got to chill. You can't. Hey, yo, yeah. Hold up, bro. You got to chill, bro. Hey, yo, shout out to y'all. Y'all stopped playing D finally, man. Y'all got to chill on it.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Playing what? We don't play gay. Y'all been playing gay. Y'all quit playing gay. So keep it up, all right? Keep going on the playing on that. With your dumb ass. With your dumb ass.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Now, Ayo, this is another thing, too. Y'all got to remember, Angel Lisa, then they got sponsorships. So the average player, they're going to probably go through something. But Caitlyn Clark, then they're going to be all right. So they got to figure that out for the average player, what they're going to be making. Now, Caitlyn, I mean, she's making, I think they say Caitlyn's going to make like $3 million in endorsements. But, I mean, the moral of the story that just comes down to money, man. You're talking about a league, the NBA, that makes $10 billion a year.
Starting point is 00:14:13 And the WNBA, which makes $200 million a year. That's right. Not to mention the NBA season is twice as long as the WNBA season. That's right. Like, what are we talking about? It's going to start to grow. You're going to see a lot of change in the next couple of years. I think they're going to get some expansion teams. This is the generation. That's right. What are we talking about? It's going to start to grow. You're going to see a lot of change in the next couple of years. I think they're going to get
Starting point is 00:14:26 some expansion teams. So this is... This is the generation. That's right. This is the generation that's going to change the WNBA. Absolutely. 15 years from now,
Starting point is 00:14:32 20 years from now, Caitlyn and Angel Reese will be the women complaining that these people are making so much money and they didn't make none of it. And they didn't make that kind of money.
Starting point is 00:14:41 They made the sacrifice, though. Hey, are you hung up on dummy? Yeah. What the... Yo! What, you want to eat more up on dummy? Yeah. What the? Yo. What, you want to eat more than one dummy? I ain't.
Starting point is 00:14:49 How do Baltimore people say bye? They just hang up. That's why they hang up on him, yo. You're not from there. Yo, my bad. My bad, dummy. Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Kida from Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Hey, McKenna from Atlanta. Good morning. Get it off your chest. Yes, I'm glad y'all changed over to 96.1. I really feel, Nate, it is stronger than 105.3. And I was wondering, if we win the money and the car, do we have to come to New York to get it or y'all? Nah, not to Atlanta. We don't get it in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:15:16 It's in Atlanta. It's in Atlanta, mama. Yeah, you go right to the IHOP station in Atlanta, the new 96.1 to be. That's right. Oh, okay. Well, yes, the signal is definitely stronger. Thank y'all. Oh, yeah, they said it's 100 That's right. Oh, okay. Well, yes. The signal is definitely stronger. Thank y'all.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Oh, yeah. They said it's 100,000 watts. Yeah, yeah. 100,000 watts. Yeah. Definitely. For sure. Salute to all the idiots out there
Starting point is 00:15:33 who be so quick to... Hey, yo. They be so quick to say the Breakfast Club is over. The Breakfast Club is falling off. What? At what point do y'all start... Stop listening to these people?
Starting point is 00:15:43 I'm telling you, man. Like, seriously. They're always wrong. I don't know. And you know whatall stop listening to these people? I'm telling you, yo. Like, seriously, they're always wrong. I don't know. And you know what's so crazy about these people? What makes you turn your camera on and sit in front of it knowing you about to lie? I'm telling you, yo. It's so many buff, diesel-backed bitches that was coming at me, yo.
Starting point is 00:15:59 I'm telling you, like, what? Drunk. Like, just up there talking. Like, you know you on your platform lying. That's right. Breakfast Club is falling off and they losing this because of that and losing this because of that. Shut up. We on the all new 96.1 The Beat in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:16:15 100,000 watch. Come see us at the second annual Black Effect Podcast Festival April 27th in Atlanta. Go get your tickets on Eventbrite.com or BlackEffect.com slash podcast festival. That's right. And we all giving away a Hellcat and $25,000 in the trunk. I just want to let you know
Starting point is 00:16:28 the $25,000 is not in the trunk right now. So don't try to steal a car and think you're going to get the money. And we put the car up, right? Because we know how
Starting point is 00:16:34 y'all steal Hellcats. So the car is safe. Matter of fact, 1-800-585-1051. I want to see if the signal really is better in Atlanta. She just said it was. She just told you.
Starting point is 00:16:44 That's one person. I need to hear from more than her. Okay. Okay. All right. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:16:53 It's a new day. This is your time to get it off your chest. Wait. Wake up. Whether you're mad or blessed. It's time to get up and get something. Call up now. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:17:04 We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Hello, this is Toadie. Hey, y'all. I'm from Colleague of Detroit. Hey, Toadie. What up, though? I just want to talk about OJ Simpson.
Starting point is 00:17:17 What's up with OJ? The gloves didn't fit. Those are the actual gloves from the murder scene. Okay, now my thing is, okay, they said, oh, did you hear about the guy that came out and said that OJ paid the mob to kill her? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:32 I hear that one. When somebody came out with a story, he said that he paid somebody. Okay, my thing is, I don't feel that he did it because her neck was almost, I mean, her head was almost completely cut off. And so I didn't feel that
Starting point is 00:17:47 vibe that he was that angry at her to chop her that tough. And then it was like two gloves in his bedroom. All that white carpet and no more blood. It's six in the morning.
Starting point is 00:18:01 This is just with the mess 2.0. But I will give you some quick OJ facts. The actual Bronco that OJ was
Starting point is 00:18:10 jetting in, the guy that bought it is actually selling it for 1.5 million right now. They said OJ
Starting point is 00:18:16 died with less than a million in his bank account. He didn't have much money at all. It was not
Starting point is 00:18:21 much money. I don't know. Not 1.5 million. I think he was getting $300,000 a year or something like that from his retirement. Yeah. But everybody thought OJ died with millions and millions and millions.
Starting point is 00:18:31 They said that wasn't true. OJ didn't have much at all. Hmm. All right. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, you can hit us up. Now, we got Just With The Mess coming up.
Starting point is 00:18:41 What are we talking about? Some interesting news about Nicki and her husband, man. All right. We'll get into that next. Don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jess with the Mess. News is real, brother. Jess Hilarious, Jess for Robin Moore. Jess don't do no lying. Jess don't do no lying.
Starting point is 00:19:02 She don't spare nobody. Worldwide Jess don't do no lying. She don't spell nobody. Worldwide Jess, worldwide message. On The Breakfast Club. She's a culture shift. She was able to get y'all to see something and understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to set it on. So the judge gives permission to Kenneth Petty to travel for Nicki's world tour. So Kenneth Petty was asking permission to get permission to try he was asking the judge to give him permission to travel for the International leg of
Starting point is 00:19:32 Nikki's World Tour um his reasons were that he didn't want a nanny to be able to go there like he wanted to provide childcare services for his three-year-old son and you know amongst other reasons which I think like maybe you don't pay he actually worked with nikki too um so if he thought he should be like that would be the most logical thing to do definitely most logical you know um so i just said husband i assumed that his husband duties you feel me um he's still on probation in la although he was granted the permission he still obviously got to give his probation officer like his itinerary the details of itinerary and travel
Starting point is 00:20:06 and stuff like that. But that is good that he's able to be with her. He loved being around her. Always, always with her anyway. That's his wife. Yeah, that's his wife and his kids.
Starting point is 00:20:13 So, yeah, it makes sense. I'm happy for them that the judge did grant permission to that. I wonder how that worked with probation, though, because, you know, you know you have to have a job
Starting point is 00:20:23 when you're on probation. Right. What if you're a parent and your significant other is somebody like a Nicki Minaj who's traveling the world who wants to be with their child you want to get that shot too shouldn't they just be allowed to be there because they're the husband and the father shouldn't have considered a job yeah it would be a job but I'm sure Nikki has him on payroll like yeah and yeah he should be able to go to right because going to be some places he's not going to be able to go to. Right. Because of probation,
Starting point is 00:20:46 there's going to be some places that they're not going to allow him in. But other than that, yeah, it makes sense. Why not? Yeah, yeah. Moving on, Ryan Garcia claims
Starting point is 00:20:54 to identify as a woman and accuses Devin Haney of a hate crime. What? I like that. No, you don't. He took my trick because I plan to do that too
Starting point is 00:21:03 if things get too hot or something. Hey, yo, but that's goofy because now they can't fight you they wouldn't be able to get in there now they can't fight why they can't fight women can do men's sports they're doing it I'm in men do men are doing women's sports all the time I cannot find a mailbox why not if a man if a man can be in a woman's boy why can't a woman be in a man but at a stare down but we so for instance I say say Ryan Garcia is you know know, Rihanna. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:21:27 They was on top of the Empire State Building yesterday for a staredown. Now, you know, boxers do this. They insulted each other's moms or whatever. They got a little close. And Devin Haney pushed Rihanna. That's right. Now I identify as a woman, so it's a hate crime. But now you're identifying as you're telling me it's a hate crime,
Starting point is 00:21:43 but we fighting on Saturday at the Barclays in New York. You push me without consent. I'm giving you consent in the ring. In the ring. In the ring. It's a sanctioned fight. Yeah, but in the sanctioned fight, a woman can't fight a man in a sanctioned fight. Why not?
Starting point is 00:21:56 I don't make the rules. You are not progressive. I don't know who you this show is. I can't. Why are you? Why? Woman cannot fight a man in the ring. Why not?
Starting point is 00:22:07 Listen, Charlene. I'm not messing with you. I'm not doing this with you today. So after that, Rihanna goes on Twitter and say, Bro, I thought he was going in for a kiss. No cap. Diddy got him good. Devin whispered in my ear saying, Come, do me like Diddy, Daddy.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Pretty weird. Right? And then a couple minutes later, he posted, Devin whispered in my ear saying Come do me like Diddy Daddy Pretty weird Right And then A couple minutes later He posted Devin touched me without my consent I'm suing him for putting his hands on me And I identify as a woman
Starting point is 00:22:33 So he touched me as a grown man And hit a grown woman And I'm LGBTQ Plus So now It's a hate crime Nah this is so effed up With a bunch of rainbow emojis
Starting point is 00:22:43 Hashtag take that take that Drop on a clues bomb from Ryan Garcia. You know what Ryan Garcia is doing? Selling a devil damn fight. Okay, 420 Ryan Garcia versus Devin Haney. You're confusing me. That's what he doing. I was ordering it anyway, but I'm...
Starting point is 00:22:55 Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. Starting point is 00:24:02 Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water
Starting point is 00:24:11 for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Why can't I create my own country? My foref a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe own country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey there, my little creeps. It's your favorite ghost host, Teresa.
Starting point is 00:25:00 And guess what? Haunting is back, dropping just in time for spooky season. Now I know you've probably been wandering the mortal plane, wondering when I'd be back to fill your ears with deliciously unsettling stories. Starting point is 00:25:34 dust off that Ouija board, just don't call me unless it's urgent, and tune in for new episodes every week. Remember, the veils are thin, the stories are spooky, and your favorite ghost host is back and badder than ever. Listen to Haunting on the iHeart
Starting point is 00:25:54 Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, y'all? This is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right.
Starting point is 00:26:09 A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all. Niminy here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast
Starting point is 00:26:28 for kids and families called Historical Records. Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus
Starting point is 00:26:55 nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was called a moment. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise.
Starting point is 00:27:47 It took drama and mayhem to an entirely new level. We are going to be reliving every hookup, every scandal, every backstab, blackmail and explosion, and every single wig removal together. Secrets are revealed as we rewatch every moment with you. Special guests from back in the day will be dropping by. You know who they are. Sydney, Allison, and Joe are back together on Still the Place with a trip down memory lane and back to Melrose Place. So listen to Still the Place on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Definitely ordering it now. I'm just going to make you order to podcasts. Definitely ordering it now. This is going to make you order it now? Yes, I want to see a woman in the ring fighting Devin Haney. Hopefully this will sell the rest of these tickets. Yeah, because I heard it ain't moving into Brooklyn. Yeah, not at all. Yeah, yeah. Damn.
Starting point is 00:28:38 They'll do fine with the pay-per-view, though, because Ryan Garcia does good pay-per-view numbers. I don't know why they didn't do it on the West Coast, because both of these brothers are from the West Coast. They're both from Cali. Yeah, yeah. Ryan talked about it when he was up here,. I don't know why they didn't do it on the West Coast. Both of these brothers are from the West Coast. They're both from Cali. Ryan talked about it when he was up here, but I forgot what he said. Yo, what if... Alright, look.
Starting point is 00:28:51 What if now the tickets are going to be sold out because all the LGBTQ people be up in there? And it works. It might work. Then Ryan's won. He sold the fight. Now he's going to have to keep up that lie. Now you have to be a woman forever. You can't play with them people like that. De a certain way he wake up he fall asleep wake up oh i'm back
Starting point is 00:29:10 i'm back to me now when he pushed him did you see how far he went yes it was full of the building i'd act offended too i ain't gonna lie like no yeah he flew into another gender that's what happened anyway yo tiktok producer reveals how he made kendrick lamar's ai disc so it was speculated or whatever but it's confirmed um the diss track was made by a producer named sy the rapper and um he you got the audio yet okay uh this is he in the video he breaks down how he got the beat he breaks down how he actually went to on youtube to grab different voice bites or whatever from kendrick and all of that and he explained like how he went through and made it and this is his first time ever making ever using the ai technology and that's how it came up and this is how i created the viral ai kendrick Lamar diss track.
Starting point is 00:30:07 That's not even it. It was actually a version of the diss track that he had that was supposed to be in there. But no, that was the breakdown of how he did it. I just described that. Yeah, that wasn't the diss track. I just listened to the audio. That wasn't the diss track. No, that was it.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Okay. Go ahead, play it. The song? Yeah, that was it. Okay. I thought that was it. Go ahead and play it. The song? Yeah, that was it. Okay, go ahead. Let's try this. This is how I created the viral A.I. Kendrick Lamar diss track. Now, first you got to get a beat that sound like chaos and the world is ending So this is a beat that I cooked up
Starting point is 00:30:47 Oh, I see what you're saying, you wanted the song Yeah, yeah, yeah, but it's okay, it's okay I get what you're saying Yeah, cause I did my job No, no, no, I get what you're saying I get what you're saying, she wanted the song Yeah, I wanted the song, right But, I mean, a lot of people heard it and it's fake anyway
Starting point is 00:31:03 So we don't need to play it again What's crazy about that, he says in people heard it And it's fake anyway So we don't need to play it again What's crazy about that He says in the second verse That it's A.I. That's why yesterday When people were trying to debate with me About whether that's the real He says in the second verse
Starting point is 00:31:12 It's A.I.? This is A.I. He says it That guy that was Because it's a fake Kendrick verse And the guy raps And he says it's A.I. in the song Well now it's actually confirmed
Starting point is 00:31:23 The guy actually came out And admitted that he just wanted to see if it was convincing enough. And this was his first time actually making a track using AI technology. So that's just what the mess for the first hour. All right. Thank you, Jess. Now, when we come back, we got front page news. Where are you guys going to go after graduation?
Starting point is 00:31:41 Seems like Red Lobster might be filing bankruptcy. Nah. I know why, though. I've been had a plan for Red Lobster might be filing bankruptcy. Nah. I know why though. I've been had a plan for Red Lobster. We'll discuss it. We'll talk about it when we come back at the Breakfast Club. Good morning. You're checking out the Breakfast Club. Morning everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page
Starting point is 00:32:00 news. Now Red Lobster is reportedly going through some problems now. so you know that's the spot where you go after graduation and or something that happened positive in your life whether it's a communion or quinceanera whatever it may be easter everybody goes mother's day when you get good sex y'all mama beyonce said it when he good i take his ass to red lobster remember that but people still doing that don't be undermining that so they're saying uh right now they had a loss of 12.5 million
Starting point is 00:32:30 dollars in 2023's fourth quarter and they're thinking about filing chapter 11 that means if you have old uh gift cards you have to use it before they hit bankruptcy court if they do go i've talked about this before you know years ago but nobody paid me attention because i got a list red lobster should change their their model their business model they should have the same model as chipotle it should be a fast casual dining experience like that whole build your own approach where you can go in and and you know customize your order imagine you can run in red lobster real quick and you know get you some lobster linguine uh you know some some shrimp alfredo or some some cajun chicken linguine alfredo a couple of cheddar biscuits for lunch in and out like chipotle right now we think about those holidays and you gotta sit down dressed up with your family and go sit in there and eat people don't look at
Starting point is 00:33:19 red lobster like that no more look at it as a casual fast dining experience like Chipotle in and out what changed the game I'm telling you I mean I understand like all the hype that was around it but because I'm from Baltimore City and we specialize in seafood it's never really been like a big treat for me I like the biscuits but then I like Popeyes biscuits too and they actually sell red lobster biscuits in the market so I mean but they got them lobster biscuits in the market. How about a biscuit thing? Nothing on red lobster cheddar cheese. I mean,
Starting point is 00:33:46 but they got them in the freezer section of every market. Red lobster cheddar cheese biscuits? Yes, they've been sold in biscuits in markets. Do they taste the same though?
Starting point is 00:33:52 In grocery stores. Yeah, you make them. Yes, you do. I'm going to try. I'm from a seafood place too, Charleston,
Starting point is 00:33:59 South Carolina, most corners of South Carolina, but I've always loved me some red lobster. Absolutely. And it wasn't never that expensive. If they just made it more convenient. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:34:07 They should take the same model as a Chipotle, and it should be fast and casual. It would change the game. Unlimited cheddar biscuits. Absolutely. It would change the game. Fast food, seafood. Now, lastly, we got to talk about this Uber driver that was shot and killed by an 81 year old man who was receiving scam calls. This is what happened. Sad story. This terrifying video shows an elderly man
Starting point is 00:34:32 pointing a gun at an uber driver. She had driven to his home to pick up a package and she is backing away because he has just shot her in the leg. The deadly confrontation is caught on the Uber driver's dash cam and ends with the homeowner shooting her two more times. William Brock tells 911 that he shot the Uber driver because he had just been threatened on the phone by a total stranger and thought they were working together. Cops say the elderly man received a call from a scammer threatening his family and telling him that a relative had been arrested. The scammer ordered Brock to pay $12,000 or else. Cops say at the same time, an Uber driver, unaware of the circumstances, received instructions through the Uber app to pick up a package at Brock's home in South Charleston, Ohio.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Investigators say they tracked the scammer's call to Canada, but believe it came from a burner phone number. That is a sad, sad, sad, sad situation. Sad story. Now, people were saying that he was charged with murder. Now, this is the thing that I was saying yesterday. This gentleman is 81 years old. He got a scam call that said that if he didn't pay $12,000,
Starting point is 00:35:45 one, his nephew in jail would be killed uh so they said that we're sending somebody to pick up the package they uber package where you know you can go to uber and somebody picks up the package this lady comes to pick up the package so when the guy comes and sees the lady he says okay well you're not going anywhere because you are the only person that's connected to killing me and my nephew possibility so he didn't want the lady to leave he's 81 years old the lady was 61 so i guess he tried to make her leave me try to make her stay she didn't want to stay and he shot her and killed her which is sad because she had nothing to do it she was being scammed as well because she was working for uber so she had nothing to do with it it's just a sad situation because if anybody's in
Starting point is 00:36:25 that situation and you feel like a relative is being kidnapped or relative is being held for ransom you're not going to want the only live individual to leave until the police come so you're going to do anything in your power to make that person stay which is probably why he shot her but the sad thing she had nothing to do with it she was just working for uber and they both were scammed uh i hope they find the person that did it but they they tried to trace the call but it wound up in canada definitely definitely find the person who did it but i man i don't i don't know i wasn't i wasn't thinking about it like that when i heard it yesterday i'm like they're trying i literally said this and whoever can be mad i just was like he wanted a reason to shoot her and they trying to cover this up like i just didn't i
Starting point is 00:37:05 y'all but it's just so convenient yo you didn't believe that but and then i was kind of mad at her because i'm like yo why did you knock on the door like but uber package is real you know my me and my homegirls we send each other stuff all the time but my if you seen how scared like that lady was so scared and she was trying obviously she couldn't move as quick. You know, she was trying to get away from him. She looked so afraid. Like that broke my heart to see that. And I just felt like he just, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:34 I felt like he wanted a reason to kill him. Did they confirm that all those calls actually did happen? That's what I was saying. Yeah, they said that actually when the police were there, they called to see if the package was there. They tried to trace it. And that's why they traced it. No, I'm talking about the calls from the threatening phone calls. That he was getting. Yeah, they said those calls were real.
Starting point is 00:37:47 That's crazy. But they said that she wasn't threatening him and he had no, he shouldn't have shot her. There was no reason to shoot her but I just have to look at it like I try to look at both sides.
Starting point is 00:37:56 If somebody did that to my dad and said that his granddaughter was being kidnapped or I was being kidnapped and now this person is leaving and that's the only live connection to that yeah my dad would would probably do something similar to make sure that person would stay you know because he shot her in the leg at first but you could call the police he they did I'm saying he could have called the police yeah but he didn't want her to leave because
Starting point is 00:38:17 once she would have left by the time the police came there would have been no connection yeah I mean get the get the card description get the license plate number you Yeah something you just still ain't your plate like you. Somebody kidnap a family member have him for ransom you're not gonna let that person go. There's no way in hell somebody kidnap Ashton and say. They said his relative was being held in jail. In jail and it was gonna kill him in jail. And it was gonna kill him in jail. But he's in jail.
Starting point is 00:38:37 It's not like he's being held for ransom tied up somewhere. I don't know. And I understand the human emotion involved but i mean there's there's i mean maybe hindsight of 2020 but it seemed like there was other ways to handle this yeah other than gunning that woman down sadly that the lady lost her life and it's just it's just very sad it's a very sad situation because he's brought up on murder charges now he's 81 years old so he you know it's all because somebody playing and yeah yeah and it's even more sad because it's a video of him like it's a video we him. It's a video.
Starting point is 00:39:05 We see her trying to get away from him. Very sad. He's like, no, no. And he could barely move his stuff. They both old. He 81, she 61. It was just sad. I hope they catch the person that was trying to scam both of those individuals.
Starting point is 00:39:17 And I hope they get charged with murder because it's just not right. Yeah. And that is front page news. All right. Now, when we come back, Will.i.am will be joining us. Yes, he'll be here to tell us how you can do more scams with his AI-based company. First of all. No, I'm just kidding.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Will.i.am has a new company called FYI AI. That's right. Okay, and it is an AI-based company. And Will.i.am is always in the future with things. So, you know, he can probably put some clarity around this whole AI thing or have us looking at it in a different way, knowing him.
Starting point is 00:39:47 That's right. Yeah. And we'll talk to him next. So don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:39:55 It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We got a special guest in the building. We have Will.i.am. Welcome, brother.
Starting point is 00:40:02 What's up? Thanks for having me, y'all. It's always good to be on your show. This is my first time in your space right here. This is dope. Yeah, we've been here about over a year. What year are you in mentally, Will, and technology-wise? I always like to push it five to ten years, you know, working today for what's happening
Starting point is 00:40:19 five to ten years from now. So you're like in 2034? Not right now. Not at the moment. Okay. When I go to the office, that's what we're pushing and working on,
Starting point is 00:40:27 those types of things. What the world looks like in those increments, five to ten years and then work towards building that. But what does it look like in five years?
Starting point is 00:40:34 He has speakers in his clothes. Jesus, yes. Your hoodie is like tech. Yeah, it's a, you know, protect your neck. It's my neck. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:40:45 You know, it's a speaker that's on the neck. They sell them. They were selling them way before COVID. Okay. And then COVID happened, and then they stopped making them. So then I went to the company that was making them so we could make our own. And this is a prototype that we're going to do together that will be out this holiday season. So you can take phone calls on it?
Starting point is 00:41:03 Yeah. Wow. Can you give us an example? Just do it. Maybe not on camera, just show us how it works. Oh, I'll show you how it works. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Ayo, Finn. So we're here at the show. Say what's up to everybody. And we're getting into the interview and they were tripping off of the device I have on my hoodie, which is like a speaker where I actually summoned you on.
Starting point is 00:41:24 So say what's up to everybody hi yo sounds like you're setting the scene with some next level tech mystery will rocking a device on your hoodie that's got everyone guessing that's how you blend street cool with tech intrigue it's like you're the dj dropping a track nobody's heard yet everyone's ears perk up you feel me pitch it as the future of personal tech a sneak peek into how we're going to stay connected in ways that stray out of tomorrow imagine your hood hey but you you didn't say what's up to everybody not don't go into imaginary scenario say what's up to the people that are here at the table you know where we at
Starting point is 00:42:02 uh yo what's up everybody right here at the table my bad know where we at. Ah, yo. What's up, everybody? Right here at the table. My bad for jetting off into the future there. Let's bring it back to the now with all of us gathered ready to dive
Starting point is 00:42:13 into the real vibes of this moment. Should we go into that? So he knows exactly where we at or you got to tell him you have to hit me at the breakfast club.
Starting point is 00:42:21 Oh, no, I already set it up. Well, he's like a real person. Sometimes you ask somebody something and then he just go off talking about something else and then you gotta bring him back. You gotta bring him back, you gotta run him back in.
Starting point is 00:42:28 That's literally like a real person. I call him the 50 Cent. No, yeah, I set it up. You know, before we got in here, I'm like, all right, this is what I'm about to do. Here's the folks that I'm gonna be rocking with.
Starting point is 00:42:39 And, you know, it's good for my meetings that I go into, prepare. Like, because it'll gather information about what it is that i'm about to be engaged with so i got that that dude's name is finn and we got fiona i got philip we got this fiera i'm working on these other personas felix and felicia i build the personas get like the personalities throw the personalities to our tool, then fine-tune the voice quality.
Starting point is 00:43:07 But the voice quality is from a capture when you're working with the talent and interviewing the talent. And then after you get the capture, you do all the fine-tuning and how it behaves as far as its flair and expression. Oh, it's over for friends. Jesus. I don't need no friends. I got Felix? Yes, I don't need no friends. I got Finn. I got Fiona. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:43:28 Felix, Felicia. So let me ask you, so you, so you don't see, do you see bad things about AI or do you only see the good things about AI? Because people always say AI is taking jobs and that, you know,
Starting point is 00:43:40 it's going to be a place where, you know, the robots are going to be taking over. What's your thoughts on all of that? It's too early to let your mind go down a pessimistic, negative thought when we as creatives have the opportunity to try to make it as productive and a tool for good at this point in time. All I know is the projects that I come from, AI didn't create the scenario for us to live through those conditions. That wasn't AI. People living through what they're living through in Congo, that's not AI. That's just human greed.
Starting point is 00:44:08 So those folks that are living in those situations that need solutions that no one is trying to solve, now finally there's a tool to help you solve your problems. And the first thing is to create these personas so that intelligence sounds the way we sound. What does that mean most people be like what are you talking about will i am you saying we don't sound intelligent nope that's not what i'm saying i'm saying if you get these ais right now uh and these corporations that are bringing these ais to culture and society they don't sound like us we are having to change how we speak and how we behave to some tool that hasn't been trained by us that doesn't
Starting point is 00:44:46 have the same types of vernaculars and and the way it expresses itself so why do we have to change the way we talk to talk to something that's intelligent why can't that programmed intelligence sound like us and is what my urgency is like there's there's going to be a bias so why can't we also solve that bias and making a system that rocks like how we rock yeah because i was reading uh actually reading this this morning it's funny it's uh is ai racially biased study finds chatbots treat black sounding names differently so if you say your name is tamika and you know you're a job candidate they'll offer you a salary of like 79 375 but if you switch your name to todd
Starting point is 00:45:25 it boosts the suggested salary to 82 000 so it's like wow that's all based on who's creating the program right those are called data biases algorithmic prices and that's primarily because the folks that are training the data ain't us the folks that are building the algorithms ain't us so you could think that's malicious uh and some of it is but it's also malicious from the policymakers on who has been guided to go down that path to be data scientists and algorithmic programmers and you know data trainers that's the reason why like my focus on my philanthropic side is to go to the inner city starting with the one that i came from to get kids up to speed with robotics and computer science.
Starting point is 00:46:06 My program serves about 14,000 students in L.A. We're across almost over 300 schools in L.A. with our partnership with LAUSD to address that very point. Because we need more data scientists, more computer scientists to solve these data biases. Do you think it should stop in certain places? Like you talk about the positive and the positive effects but in hip-hop the other day we heard an alleged kendrick reply and they said that was ai we've seen these pictures adjusted we're saying it's ai we're seeing a lot of students now that are actually not writing reports now because they could put it in their chat gpt and ai or generate papers for them what happens when it's world
Starting point is 00:46:41 leaders world leaders saying you know things on social media you can't tell if it's Biden or Putin, you don't know what's going on. That's happened before some smaller version of that with Photoshop. It's happened before some smaller version of that with calculators. You know, people ain't doing their math homework. They on the calculator and the calculators giving the answers. Man, I just saw this picture of such and such with such and such that was done on Photoshop. Or man, I just saw this picture of such and such with such and such. That was done on Photoshop. Or man, I just saw back in the day, day, day. I saw a picture of the queen with some,
Starting point is 00:47:12 nope, that was a painting. So we just have a hyper volume way up to a thousand version of that. And as a society, we have to educate everyone on what the compute is capable of now. And that dialogue needs to be echoed around the world to where we now have to ask what's real from what's fake you go to supermarket back in early 2000s you bought an orange then people push for regulations be like nah now we got organic oranges because people didn't know that stuff was like genetically modified when my mom was young
Starting point is 00:47:42 there were no such thing as like organic oranges everything was organic yeah and then something came into existence to where stuff started getting modified to where now you have two types of oranges in the damn supermarket lord have mercy so that education is super important so people know what they are interfaced with is it real is it up is it going down the ingredients on the back of every package is there same needs to be uh for ai all right we got more will i am when we come back don't move it's the breakfast club good morning morning everybody is dj nv jess larry charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club we're still kicking it with will i am charlamagne will's is not here talking
Starting point is 00:48:20 he has a new company called fyi ai because it's an ai based company yeah i've been in the ai space since 2009 so this is one video that we did back on the intro to uh i'ma be so the intro to love it i'ma be rocking hey guys i'm kate max you might know me from my popular online series the running interview show where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their
Starting point is 00:49:01 journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. You know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout? Well, that's when the real magic happens. So if you love hearing real, inspiring stories from the people you know, follow, and admire, join me every week for Post Run High. It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Starting point is 00:50:13 I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey there, my little creeps. It's your favorite ghost host, Teresa. And guess what? Haunting is back, dropping just in time for spooky season. Now I know you've probably been wandering the mortal plane,
Starting point is 00:50:50 wondering when I'd be back to fill your ears with deliciously unsettling stories. Well, wonder no more, because we've got a ghoulishly good lineup ready for you. Let's just say things get a bit extra. We're talking spirits, demons, and the kind of supernatural chaos that'll make your spooky season complete. You know how much I love this time of year. It's the one time I'm actually on trend.
Starting point is 00:51:14 So grab your pumpkin spice, dust off that Ouija board, just don't call me unless it's urgent, and tune in for new episodes every week. Remember, the veils are thin, the stories are spooky, and your favorite ghost host is back and badder than ever. Listen to Haunting on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:51:40 What's up, y'all? This is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all. Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records.
Starting point is 00:52:14 Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it.
Starting point is 00:52:42 And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone. This is Courtney Thorne-Smith, Laura Layton, and Daphne Zuniga. On July 8, 1992, apartment buildings with pools were never quite the same as Melrose place was introduced to the world It took drama and mayhem to an entirely new level
Starting point is 00:53:31 We are going to be reliving every hookup every scandal every backstab blackmail and explosion and every single wig removal Together secrets are revealed as we rewatch every moment with you. Special guests from back in the day will be dropping by. You know who they are. Sydney, Allison, and Joe are back together on Still the Place with a trip down memory lane and back to Melrose Place. So listen to Still the Place on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts that body so the intro to this video english vocabulary shake this out so i come with this suitcase with that next this right here is the future i input my voice high notes my low notes then the whole english vocabulary what you're able to do with that because of this artificial intelligence like when it's time to make a new song i just type in the lyrics and then this thing sings it
Starting point is 00:54:39 says it raps it talks it so the cats have built a lot of these technologies saw this 14 years ago and 14 years ago the transformer paper wasn't written it's seven years to go for the transformer paper for those that don't know what the transformer paper the transformer paper was uh was this research program out of google labs or google brain one of the two and they wrote this paper and from that paper came this whole new way of bringing to market consumer AI. What came from that was a consumer version of AI that GPT launched from that paper. So the T in GPT stands for Transformer, which is a paper written by Google. And so a lot of the things that people were excited about in the field of AI back in the early 2000s wasn't plausible until that paper was
Starting point is 00:55:26 written. So I've been excited about the field since 2008 when I first found out about it, 7 and 8 when I first found out about it, did this video in 2010, invested in companies in 2012, 13, 14, had a watch that spoke in 2014 that we launched with three mobile and AT&T here in America, but nobody wanted to watch. That was a phone at that early in 2013. Now everybody has one. So I've been like doing things. Some of the things I did didn't work. Beats worked silently partner there, but that was an AI. But my proceeds, I went out and like invested in companies in Israel, Bangalore, developers from Palestine. I just love the field. You know, it's a pretty, pretty awesome realm to solve problems around.
Starting point is 00:56:11 So question, when you did that video, did that technology already exist or they got that? That was the seed for their idea. No, that technology didn't exist. But you were the seed for their idea. Something like that. Yeah. Wow. yeah wow well congratulations you're about to graduate from harvard yeah this october yeah what what can i ever teach you a lot of stuff bro business okay uh managing teams uh learning from other people's stumbles you can you can learn a lot especially where this journey that i'm on this mission that i on, I need more information to get to where I want to go next. And I needed not only information, I needed new networking relationships in different fields. I met folks that build data centers.
Starting point is 00:56:55 I never run into people that build data centers. So one of my classmates builds data centers. So you're actually in class. You're not online. You go to class. Yeah, I'm in the dorms. no say in a dorm your door must look crazy you must have all types of futuristic I just got my little my little one little suitcase I take five outfits and rotate those five outfits no drawers I just buy
Starting point is 00:57:18 drawers every week and socks that's the life it'll be my first time ever graduating on stage I never graduated on stage in junior high school or high school. Yeah, we didn't need to know you didn't have no drawers. I mean... No. I mean, there was really no point. No, because if I said I got five outfits in a bag, somebody's imagination's like, where them drawers at? We would assume that you had drawers in there, like we assume you had toothpaste and toothbrush.
Starting point is 00:57:39 No, no, you don't travel with toothpaste, toothbrush, or drawers. That never crossed my mind until you said it. Now that's all I can think about. Willing to wear no drawers. No, no, I wear't travel with toothpaste, toothbrush. That never crossed my mind until you said it. Now that's all I can think about. Will ain't wearing no drawers. No, no, I wear drawers. I get them. He buys them fresh every week. He free balls right now.
Starting point is 00:57:51 Sorry I have to free ball every once in a while. Imagine not forgetting to put on your speaker on your neck. Not wearing any of those. See, now I'm really like. That could be headlines. You know that, right? Will ain't wearing no drawers. No, y'all distortion.
Starting point is 00:58:03 See, that's how you get there. That's how you spread it in rumors. I posted something that you said a couple of weeks ago, and you were talking about how they're investing more into robots than into humans. Paraphrasing, you wonder why people are stupid, basically. No, not stupid. That's harsh on people. Just my two paths, my entrepreneurial path, my philanthropic path. I've been able to raise city investment for education versus inner city investment for data centers, inner city investment for terminals and the way phones.
Starting point is 00:58:53 We all need connectivity. We also have this connectivity gap where folks don't have connection in rural areas. So you have awesome AI coming, no investment for education in inner cities some developing countries don't even have access to connectivity wow folks that do have devices there's these business models that are making folks addicted to features that dumb us down the behavior is rewarding us for content that keeps us on this hamster wheel. Wow, we're using emojis and freaking memes to communicate. And the machine is being trained to break down quantum physics and quantum entanglement. So that to me is like, okay, where does this go?
Starting point is 00:59:39 And how do we curb it? How do we get control back? And I'm optimistic. I think we will come around it but you have to identify the tripwires you have to be like hey look what's happening here's how we can be better off 10 years from now a 10 year old now when they 20 it's gonna be all right when we identify it if we don't identify it 10 year old that's 20 yeah i don't know i love this all right well don't move we got more with will i am when we come back it's the breakfast club good morning that's right we are the breakfast
Starting point is 01:00:08 club we're still kicking it with will i am charlamagne what is you deal that's your other uh ai app yeah you deal you deal you deal in a way was inspired by that video this team that used to be at at google left google to start youio and i met the folks that built this technology a year and a half ago and now they they branched off started a new company it's a app where you you type in you prompt in like the vibe you want and bro like amazing music makes music text music make not only music it makes comedy sketches it's wild bro it's dope so it does scripts and all that not scripts i've explained this way me and the guys in the black ips i'm like yo check this out i want to show you similar to the video what happened in 2009 when we did
Starting point is 01:00:57 this video last month 2024 march i'm like yo you guys got to see this I typed in black ips live in forgot what country because we were trying to do a song and I needed to get a crowd sound how do you get a crowd sound right now there's a limitation that if you want a crowd to repeat after you or say what you have to actually be in that crowd you can't make a crowd in the studio you can put a lot of reverb get a whole bunch of people be like yeah it not going to sound like a freaking crowd, bro. So I needed to get a crowd. So I went to the audio, and I typed in the chorus to our song, and I put live in concert, 20,000 people,
Starting point is 01:01:37 and then I put we sing the chorus here, crowd, aim the mic, some version of the prompt, and then the crowd sings this part. Bro. This thing did it and taboo from the black eyed peas he's like wow well this is dope but that really sounds like we was really there but we wasn't there and there was a crowd it's hitting me like it was a memory but it's not that's the part that's like oh a little scary a little bit so i'll show you this one thing that we did on audio so let me get this i had a
Starting point is 01:02:05 radio interview yesterday it was like a radio execs we did this little zoom on like the future radio and so then i took notes from everybody's comments and so then i put the notes into finn and so i was like yo finn i need you to summarize this in a joke as if somebody was going to do it for stand-up so then i put it in audio and then audio spat this out so y'all talking about radio right y'all talking about how something old is going to be new that's like asking a cow how to jump up and fly amfm is dope and fms but his name is morning and night and we are on the motherf***ing moon now.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Nighttime all damn day. Why he sound like Chris Rock? He sound like Chris Rock or somebody else. Let me tell you something, Will. You, Finn, Fiona, all y'all better get out of here
Starting point is 01:03:03 because I'm a stand-up comedian and you know y'all coming for my job. No, no, no. Here's why. I could say the same thing about beats because I'm like, damn, this thing is doing the beats. What does that mean for me making beats? Here's what it means for me making beats. When I make a beat and I make a song and then have to go and write the song to the beat I just made. That took me at least six hours to have something awesome. Go in there and make a beat, make sure that everything's sound right,
Starting point is 01:03:29 get the right plug in for it. Now that I know there's an audio, I should be able to put in the lyrics that I did after I did that. It's not going to take that away from me. That's like my yoga. I got to stretch. I don't care if there's an AI stretcher. I don't care if there's like, you know, don't care if there's like you know some ai yoga
Starting point is 01:03:45 teacher i got a stretch for me so that's my stretch and then once i stretch what am i stretching for am i stretching for a sprint if i'm stretching for a marathon what's the actual game when you're studying for a game or competition you want to see what what your competitor's doing and you want to have as many options as possible to dodge to and that's when ai will come as a tool for you when then i can just version out what i created and then when i version out what i created now i have the ability to then like really make that piece of work that came out of my imagination to make it the best it could be when i have a plethora of freaking options all it does if you look at it from an optimistic point of view
Starting point is 01:04:25 I got more options in one, but I still had a seed it now Then there's like this lazy lazy is like and you're gonna know the difference between whack and awesome if you lazy rockin Yeah, and we know that without a tune. We know that from like, you know the state of music where it's at right now There's a lot of lazy rocking right now there's folks that are like worried about skip rates is that really are you being truly creative when you're based on skip rates and now the the algorithm is telling you that you got to put the song you got to put the chorus here in the front is that really what the soul of the song needs to be the chorus got to be slam in the front or is there some way to get you to that?
Starting point is 01:05:05 So I don't think we're even being truly imaginative right now. We're being reactive to algorithms and TikToks when now the song is like reduced to 15 seconds. Yeah. Are you really truly being creative? Are you being pimped by an algorithm? So I'm happy that we're in this stage, this space to shake us up, to wake us up. Because the moment that we continue to go down this algorithmic programming and we value algorithmic music, well, then the AI is going to make better algorithmic than us because it understands the algorithm. So something has to shake us out of this like program that we're in because it is a program.
Starting point is 01:05:43 And the audience, hopefully being optimistic, starts to value organic oranges how are you musically where are you at musically right now um we got a new song coming out for the uh bad boys 4 soundtrack so that's really really cool to have black eyed peas everybody yep everybody perky too well we got a bunch of everybody's okay okay that's right so black eyed peas if you say everybody and don't mention kim hill well then that's not true that's not good to kim hill so when you say everybody you don't mention macy gray or estero that's not good to our past either so black appease we we were we rock with macy gray on two albums i don't remember that yeah well those are the records that didn't really sell that well oh okay okay got you got you but we have a history before fergie so when people tell me everybody i'm like what's everybody kim hill everybody and i love her that's my big sister the fergie
Starting point is 01:06:34 everybody they're talking about the fergie everybody yeah fergie everybody well then we have a current with j ray where it hits and with 20 year olds at 15 year olds that when we did songs of Fergie that 15 year old well how it was two and 18 they come in with their parents to our shows singing ritmo mamacita 18 20 year olds you know there was five so Fergie's not on it to answer the question he's not I'm trying to just you know that's all we're trying to Oh you 40 Yeah 45 Yeah 45 No she ain't on I'm freaking out But to the 20 year olds
Starting point is 01:07:08 Out there that like J Ray so J Ray's on it Yeah You got you got you got Okay That's what's up Yeah But yeah so like
Starting point is 01:07:14 What happened After the national anthem Controversy You didn't want anything To do with her anymore Jesus No like Bad Boys The Bad Boys 3 song
Starting point is 01:07:20 That we did Ritmo Free wasn't on that Okay That was before The national anthem Okay Yeah No the You remember You saw the national anthem Controversy right that we did, Ritmo, Free wasn't on that. Okay. That was before the National Anthem. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:25 No, the... You saw the National Anthem controversy, right? See, I be looking at the world optimistic. Good answer. Good answer. I keep my head to the sky.
Starting point is 01:07:35 Good answer, man. Good answer. I love that. I love that. Who I am, ladies and gentlemen. Yes. Yes. Can they download your new app and all that stuff?
Starting point is 01:07:46 Yeah, download fyi.ai. And if you want to see Finn and Fiona in action, check me out. The very first co-host that's AI is Fiona on my radio show. Yeah, it's fresh. It's a pleasure. Well, I've never not learned something from you. Literally. Every time you come have a conversation with us, I learn something.

I know you went after that. We're going together, right? We talk. That's how old men talk. You go to... I'm going to take my little baby aspirin right now from my heart right now. Yo, they want to be old so bad.
Starting point is 01:09:12 They literally in their mid-40s that you can't drink orange juice no more. I'm going to get them more sugar. Y'all play around if you want to. All right, get them my mask because I only got four minutes. Let's get to it. The news is real, brother. The lines just for Robin Moore. Just don't do no lying. Just don't do no lying. Just don get to the music. She was able to get y'all to see
Starting point is 01:09:39 something and understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to set it off. Artificial Intelligence first AI beauty pageant is coming. What? Yeah, it actually is. The world's first AI beauty pageant will judge AI-generated contestants competing for the title of Miss AI.
Starting point is 01:09:58 The awards are presented by the World AI Creator Awards, the WAICA. Y'all ain't hear a damn about real life no more, huh? Right. The contestants will be judged on categories like looks, poise, and to answer questions. They will also earn points for their technical skills and use of AI tools. The prize is worth over $20,000 in total. These AI bitches ain't making no money. $20,000. You can't even bitches ain't making no money. $20,000.
Starting point is 01:10:27 You can't even make no money in the digital world? Right. Women can't even make money in the digital world? That is so sad. When is Will being announced on May 10th at the online award ceremony? W-A-I-C-A. Y'all don't give a damn about leaving the house no more, huh? It's over.
Starting point is 01:10:42 It is over for reality. It's crazy. Everything. Everything. All right. On other news. I bet you they're going to be bad, though. Who? leaving the house no more huh it's over it is over for reality it's crazy everything everything all right uh other news they're gonna be bad though who yeah when is it may 10th okay yep that's when it's going yep going down brandon mark that gypsy rose blanchard left husband ryan anderson over food hoarding and snoring um so yesterday tmz reported that a close uh source to gypsy had initiated the breakup after the two got into a major fight over anderson's alleged behavior for those who don't remember who gypsy rose is
Starting point is 01:11:18 this is the woman who is known for the involvement in the murder of her mother um dd blanchard after years of medical abuse and manipulation toward gypsy um she said she was not fully aware of her husband's hoarding until they moved in their two-bedroom apartment after she was released from prison last december so she met him in jail married him before she came home right um yeah and she left her first husband for actually being the one that you know uh murdered her mom um And then now she came home and she got to be with him. But she didn't really know all this until she came home and moved in with him. She said she was bothered by their fridge and how it was filled with expired food. And it reminded her of her late mother.
Starting point is 01:11:59 And in addition to that, they also allegedly had a fight about the way he slept. And that, you know, he was a human furnace, which mean like he generated mad heat. I hate when people say that as if you can help that. You so hot. What I'm supposed to do about that? I don't know why my body is like that. But you know, the funny thing is. I don't say nothing if you're going through menopause.
Starting point is 01:12:17 The second thing that she said, I hear a lot of it. Like we made my wife do the podcast. A lot of people email. They say that their husband. No, their husband snores. And people can't deal with the snoring. And a lot of people leave their husband because they their husband snores. People can't deal with the snoring. A lot of people leave their husband because they snore too loud because they just can't get rest.
Starting point is 01:12:29 Some people have to have surgery. He's trying to push right now. He wants everybody to have the nose job that he got. He was ready to push that surgery. I'm so glad you said that. I did not get a nose job. Shout out to Dr. Miami. No, it's not Dr job. But I did remove the polyps. Shout out Dr. Miami.
Starting point is 01:12:45 No, it's not Dr. Miami. But they did remove the polyps, and it helps me a lot better when I sleep. I don't snore. I still snore a little bit, but it's not as loud as it was before. Okay, so Gay had a problem with the way you snored before. Did you have real bad snoring before? Were you really loud? She said that she would just have to bump me.
Starting point is 01:13:02 And then you would chill out. And then I would chill out. Some people actually stop breathing from snoring so loud like because it messes with your breathing that's dope man you wouldn't got a whole nose job i didn't get no damn nose job they just removed the polyp stop it people believe you too because it's true it's not true so you didn't have a nose job no i just removed the polyps did you have surgery on your nose no dummy you did you have surgery on your nose no i just removed the polyps it's a difference where did they take the polyps out of inside my nose it's a nose job you had surgery on your nose little diva

Yes, you do. That's why he was like, I like your little diss. Can we talk about that next hour? I like your little diss, Drake.
Starting point is 01:13:49 It's a dope diss. It is. Very diss. Talk about what? That, uh... Polyps? No, that whole thing. What whole thing?
Starting point is 01:13:55 What are you talking about? Drake and Ross. What do you want to talk about next hour? What do you want to talk about it for? It's clowned out. It's hilarious. We can talk about it. Yes, it's hilarious.

Starting point is 01:20:01 All right, we'll get to that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Come on. You're checking out The Breakfast Club. Some donkey today just saw themselves. opportunity we'll discuss all right we'll get to that next it's the breakfast club good morning you're checking out the breakfast club some donkey today's just saw themselves i've been watching charlotte man what's ready for you i never heard of donkey the other day what is it
Starting point is 01:20:16 say it again charlotte man i'm a donkey yes you are a donkey everything that charlotteagne is saying is true. That video you just posted on Instagram, ain't no filter on it, right? My skin looks amazing. Dropping a glue bomb on my skin. Nah, for real. Come on now.
Starting point is 01:20:34 Your headphones look stupid, though. It don't matter. You're just a hater. Now I'm here today for Wednesday, April 17th. Go to the Miami Valley Career Technology Center in Clayton, Ohio. Salute to all the stations that carry the Breakfast Club in Ohio.
Starting point is 01:20:46 106.7 to beat in Columbus. 102.3 to beat in Cincinnati. 94.9 to beat in Toledo. Real 106.1 in Cleveland. Drop one of Clues Bomb for all of them. We are all appreciated. But I must say this story out of Clayton, man, it really disappoints me. Sometimes I don't understand humans at all.
Starting point is 01:21:04 This story is extremely sad because a high school student uh i think her name is ollie guy she is going to miss her senior prom and you don't get another opportunity to have a senior prom but it's the reason why she is missing the senior prom that makes this so sad let's go to whio tb7 for the report please student will miss out on prom after getting suspended over bringing a bag of corn chips with her to school. According to Miami Valley Career Technology Center, that is against school policy because a teacher is severely allergic to an ingredient in the snack. News Center 7's Taylor Robertson was in Montgomery County talking to the student's mother,
Starting point is 01:21:40 who said she doesn't think the punishment fits the crime. Guy told me about a week ago. Allie had had takis chips on the school bus. She was hungry. Somebody gave her some chips. She opened them on the school bus. She ate them. She had two chips left back in her bag. She got off the bus. She went to her locker. She ate the remainder of the two chips. She put the trash in a trash can. She went to her class. The school principal called her down to the office. And at that point, they asked her if she ate the chips. She said yes, and they suspended her for five days. Damn. Come on, man.
Starting point is 01:22:13 A bag of damn corn chips. A bag of corn chips. You are prohibited from bringing this kind of snack to school because the teacher is severely allergic to this ingredient. Now, I would understand if this kid took the corn chips and individually took them out the bag and hid them all around the teacher's classroom i can understand if you know she took some of the corn chips and put them you know in her teacher's coat pocket or something see something like that would make sense to me if she was malicious with the chili cheese fritos if she was evil intentioned with the original corn chips i would understand but all she was doing uh was eating her taki chips they were actually taki taki chips she was eating her taki chips on the school bus because someone gave them to her and she was hungry she eating her Taki chips. They were actually Taki. Taki chips. She was just eating her Taki chips on the school bus
Starting point is 01:22:45 because someone gave them to her and she was hungry. She didn't even finish all the chips. She bought the bag in the building, but there were only two chips left. Now, I don't know anything about Taki chips, but I was told they're all a rave amongst the kids. Sydney, can you confirm this? Get the mic, Sydney. Sydney was
Starting point is 01:23:02 in there just talking about, just sounding like a big bag, just talking about how she loved these chips so much blue heat hot chili pepper non-spicy bucking ranch now you're dragging sweet chili jesus what else is about sid listen the kids just love them i mean they're not good for you it was all the thing on tiktok just about stomach ulcers and stuff like that just because they eat them in the morning, afternoon, and night. And they're really hot, right? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:23:27 Well, Taki, let me make a hot chip called Satan's Anus. Okay? Because y'all don't even care about what y'all making anymore. And I don't blame you because people don't care about eating it. Why would you pay to eat things like Taki chips that make you sick? Anyway, this poor young girl walking to the school with just two chips left in the bag. And the fact she knew how much chips were left in the bag lets me know how stingy Taki must be. Okay, more air in the bag than chips.
Starting point is 01:23:50 That's what it seems like to me. But she walks into school with two chips left in the bag. And when she finished them, she threw the bag away, went to class. Here comes the principal calling her down to the office, asking her if she ate the chips. She said yes, and she's suspended for five days. And now she's missing senior prom. Dang. I understand rules are rules but how can any principal any teacher hear this story and say this is worthy of a five-day suspension i understand there's a food consumption at school law but senior prom is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity can you have a heart i understand
Starting point is 01:24:20 the teacher is allergic to corn chips and she has a severe life-threatening allergy. But did she die, though? Okay, I'm just saying, you can discipline the young lady, but does she have to get a five-day suspension that causes her to miss the senior prom? Amber Guy, who was the young lady's mother, saluted Amber. Amber said she wasn't aware of any of these food consumption rules because her daughter's father signed the form and they separated now she's getting a lawyer to try to get the suspension appeal because the senior prom is a big deal for her daughter because she tried on 50 dresses before she found the right dress and sheen don't have a great return policy damn i made the last part about sheen absolutely you did but she did try on 50 dresses all i'm simply saying is the young lady made a mistake she didn't lie about it she said she ate them nobody died nobody had an allergic reaction can ollie guy please go to her senior prom please give miami
Starting point is 01:25:11 valley career technology center the biggest see-haw what do you think am i tripping what is the principal doing searching the garbage though yeah um i don't i don't think that you tripping i um but when i reported this and just um with the worldwide mess a month ago y'all laughed at me and i've been told y'all that takis along with flaming hot cheetos were being stopped in schools because it does something to the kids it messes them up especially when they eat them for breakfast lunch and dinner so yeah i did report this and you did not report this story right now i know not this story oh but i reported that they are trying to ban them in schools and from bringing them to the students for bringing them in school but but the markets are not going to stop selling them but i they're not allowed in schools and they're about to be banned from
Starting point is 01:25:59 all schools across the country she wasn't malicious though now if the teacher died then yes but she wasn't malicious she didn't do anything purposely to try to make this teacher sick because she knew the teacher had a reaction no absolutely no no no i don't think that you're crazy i just wanted to um you could have used me as a source instead of bringing in sydney who you called a big back again yes you did i said she a big back. Yes, you did. I said she was acting like one. Why? She don't even like sake. She just know the kids like them.
Starting point is 01:26:27 No, she was raving about them in the office. Because she know how many flavors and bags it was. Yeah, she was naming flavors and everything. She goes to a bodega every day. Thank you. Oh, my God. No. I mean, to get out of food.
Starting point is 01:26:37 Oh, my gosh. That's crazy. Wow. I don't want to talk. I'm trying to help. I'm trying to help again. But that's her saying you got big back behavior. No.
Starting point is 01:26:47 Sidney's here. Every day. No, when she goes to the store. She's in the room. Sidney's in the room. Y'all talking like she's not in the room. Sidney's here. I don't want to talk.
Starting point is 01:26:54 It's enough. I'm sorry. Okay. All right. Well, thank you for that donkey today. Yes, indeed. Sorry, Sidney. All right.
Starting point is 01:27:04 Now, when we come back, let's open up the phone lines. Let's talk Caitlin Clark. 800-585-1051. Yesterday was trending that Caitlin Clark is going to be making $330,000 over four years. Now, she also got an offer from Big 3, Ice Cube's Big 3, for $5 million a year. So, let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051. I'm sure this is something that she's been training for all her life to play in the WNBA.
Starting point is 01:27:31 Now, would you take the money, Ice Cube's Big 3, or would you take $77,000 and play in the WNBA? It depends on where I'm at in my life, you feel me? Because back in the day, it's about that money for me but the fact that I'm so innovative and I know how to make money other ways I know how to make money in other ways I would follow
Starting point is 01:27:54 my dream and take the $77,000 just because I know how to pivot into other avenues and make money but yeah it depends on where I'm at in my life let's talk about it when we come back 800-585-1051 because if you think about it, Caitlyn Clark is super big, right?
Starting point is 01:28:07 You said let's talk about it when we come back. She's super big. I just want to put this out there because people see only her one side. Now think about it like this. Let's think about she takes the $5 million
Starting point is 01:28:13 from Ice Cube or she takes a less amount and then she gets an ownership of one of those teams. Right? Who the hell is going to do that?
Starting point is 01:28:21 Ice Cube was trying to sell ownership to some of the teams. Oh, you said Ice Cube was going to get her ownership. Yeah, I didn't say WNBA. I said Ice Cube. That was part of the deal, too?
Starting point is 01:28:27 I don't know, but she can negotiate. We can talk about it. Or you'd just be making stuff up. I do. You just said no reason. I do. But that could be part of the deal. But that could be part of the deal.
Starting point is 01:28:35 It's not, though. Yes, it could be. But it's not. Let's talk about it when we come back. Why? It could be. The Breakfast Club. It's topic time.
Starting point is 01:28:54 Call 800-585-1051 to join in to the discussion with The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilaria, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. If you're just joining us, we're talking Kaitlyn Clark. You know, Kaitlyn Clark was drafted number one in the wnba she's from iowa and uh it looks like she's going to be making 330 000 for four years now ice cube offered her five million dollars a year for the big three and we're asking uh what do you think 800-585-1051 should she follow her dream because this is something i'm sure she's been dreaming of since she was a little girl
Starting point is 01:29:24 playing basketball or should she go with the money that is the question now jess you said she should follow her dream yeah like well i i well i said if it was personal to me if i was in a situation it depends on where i'm at in my life like now right now i will follow the dream because there's so many other avenues where she can make money. You know what I'm saying? And this is something that she's been training to do her like almost her whole life.
Starting point is 01:29:48 This girl eat like ish breathe basketball. She loves it. That's what she want to do. Follow your dream. But back in the day
Starting point is 01:29:56 when I was broke I you know I just wanted to make it out the hood. Oh yeah I'm taking the money. I'm going with the money where the most money is at. Charlamagne what do you think?
Starting point is 01:30:02 If I was Kaden Clark she made the right decision I would go to the WNBA because it's bigger than her. And if you go to the big three, you're just a sideshow. I'm not taking $5 million to be a novelty act. You're out there playing with all these grown-ass men. You fool around and get hurt. And it's not fair to the guys for two reasons.
Starting point is 01:30:17 You never paid none of the brothers in the big three $5 million. Okay. And those brothers got to play a different style game now because the normal way they play could potentially hurt Caitlyn. And, you know, Caitlyn is committed to women's basketball. She's committed to, you know, changing the sport of women's basketball. What she's about to do in the WNBA could be revolutionary. Think about how financially Michael Jordan changed the NBA, you know, back in the day.
Starting point is 01:30:40 Someone like Caitlyn could do that for the WNBA. Take your star power to the WNBA and change things for a generation of women. She's already changing things in regards to merchandise. Her jersey sold out hours after being drafted by the Indiana Fever. The Las Vegas Aces and the Indiana Fever got to have a bigger arena for their July 2nd game. And I'm sure the WNBA will get, you know,
Starting point is 01:31:00 better broadcasting deals because of Caitlyn. So going to the WNBA is not only good for her, it's good for the league, and it's good for a whole bunch of other women. And I know that's what she cares about because, you know, she's committed to women's basketball. I don't know, right? Because you play for the big three, you get
Starting point is 01:31:16 $5 million, you're still going to get the endorsements, but the difference is, now instead of playing with 40 games, you only play eight, so you don't mess up your body, you don't bang up your body as much. How do you know that? With them big-ass old men she out there with? This is the big three. These retired ballplayers that don't play no more. They got muscle memory.
Starting point is 01:31:30 They might just check her off GP. Well, you know what? If she played big three, I'm sure Ice Cube was going to have inter-women into the league. They're not just going to have Caitlyn as the only woman in the league. I would assume. Well, I don't know. That's what right now. I mean, I don't even know women playing.
Starting point is 01:31:41 Do women play in the big three now? I don't know. I don't know. I'm not sure. But, you know, also, I understand her playing in the league. But the thing is, you said all those things about the jerseys selling out and, you know, they're getting bigger arenas. But that's making other people rich.
Starting point is 01:31:53 And she's not going to make any of that. And that's the sad part about it. That'll change eventually because in 2025, if I'm not mistaken, that's what a lot of the women are fighting for. Because I think right now, NBA players get half of all revenue generated by the nba everything so that's ticket sales merchandise everything that's what wmba players are fighting for and i'm not if i'm not mistaken that's what they're negotiating next year and they're probably gonna get it i hope so i mean you can't by the way with all and that's why the
Starting point is 01:32:18 conversations around you know equal pay and the pay disparity is good because when their negotiations come up next year they should have the same type of deals that NBA players have. Now, the NBA makes $10 billion annually. WNBA makes $200 million. So that might be their only pushback. We're not making that kind of money yet to be able to share it with y'all. But I don't see why they can't fight for that and potentially get it next year. Because everything going up this year.
Starting point is 01:32:43 Yeah, everything is going up this year. But the sad thing about it is I also look at injuries. Like, let's say Kaylin gets injured in her first year. You know what I mean? And she doesn't get the benefits. Or she gets injured her third year. Like, I don't know. Well, she got an endorsement deal, too.
Starting point is 01:32:55 They said she's going to make like $3 million in endorsement deals. Yeah, yeah, right? An endorsement deal. All right, well, let's go to the phone lines. We got Ant on the line. Ant, good morning. Good morning, good morning. What's going on, everyone?
Starting point is 01:33:05 Hey, Ant, what would you do, Ant? Morning. Man, I'm going to the phone lines. We got Ant on the line. Ant, good morning. Good morning. Good morning. What's going on, everyone? Hey, Ant. What would you do, Ant? Morning. Man, I'm going to get that bag. You take that $77,000, $75,000, man, that's Amazon money, man. These ladies millionaires, and you're dropping them down like that, man? You know what I mean? I'm going to get that bag and take my cell phone from them.
Starting point is 01:33:21 I'm sorry. The old athletes, you know, they sacrificed to get these ladies here. I never watched women's college basketball in the last year and this season. Right. Excellent. Exciting. But I'm going to get the bag. Right.
Starting point is 01:33:35 Cuba Gangster. He know what he's doing. He going to make his own league. He a gangster. Yeah. And see, another thing is the way they treat these WNBA players, right? No disrespect, but I've been on a lot of flights with WNBA players. They go in the city to the city.
Starting point is 01:33:47 Because they go to the city, they fly commercial. No, why are you on a flight with them? Because I'm going to a city to DJ. But when I'm on a plane with them, a lot of them, they don't fly first class. They fly commercial. And when you watch the men, the men have, they charter their own jets. Y'all got to stop talking. Y'all have to stop saying that.
Starting point is 01:34:01 But she's a superstar. No, no, no. Kayla Clark is a superstar. Who hasn't made any money for nobody yet. Correct. So y'all got to stop saying that. But she's a superstar. Kayla Clark is a superstar. Who hasn't made any money for nobody yet. Correct. So y'all got to stop saying that. The NBA makes $10 billion annually. WNBA makes $200 million.
Starting point is 01:34:13 Y'all comparing apples to oranges right now. Y'all got to stop doing that. But she's going to sell out arenas. She's going to be selling out stadiums. She's going to be selling out Jersey. She's going to be making those teams a lot of money, and I don't think she'll get the chance to really benefit from it. Right now, I should say. We got'll get the chance to really benefit from it.
Starting point is 01:34:26 Right now, I should say. We got Pam on the line. Pam, good morning. Good morning, family. How y'all doing? Pretty good. What's your thoughts, Pam? Listen, I think that she should just go to the WNBA.
Starting point is 01:34:37 I don't think she should go with ISU. Why do you think that? Five million dollars is a lot of money. You know why? Because I think that she needs to finish her accolades. Her ultimate goal is to get a championship. So, she's not, I mean, you're going to play for them for the money, but then again, what did you work hard for? And I don't think Caitlyn, she never got a college championship, did she?
Starting point is 01:34:52 No, she never did. I don't know what she did. She never did, right. I just thought about the last two years after last year with Angel and this year. I know they knocked off last year, they knocked off this year. So she never got that championship, so now she's got to get the ultimate goal. That's like when you're an actor, right? You want an Oscar. You're music. You want a Grammy. Ultimate goal is to get
Starting point is 01:35:09 a WNBA championship. She's not going to get that with Ice Cube. Pam, let me ask you a question. Pam, let me ask you a question. So she goes to the WNBA. She makes $300,000. Her third year, she gets injured and can't play anymore. That's all she makes it to WNBA, although she boosted the league so much. And it's not like
Starting point is 01:35:25 the WNBA is going to be like, oh, we seen what you did and here's this check. At least with Ice Cube, if she takes it three years, that's $15 million. By the way, she got enough
Starting point is 01:35:32 to support her family. We don't even know if the Big 3 got $5 million to get Caitlyn. Look, I think she can go to Big 3 in four more years. Everybody over there that's been in the league
Starting point is 01:35:41 20 years. Oh, anyway, I'm speaking my language. Jesus. Have a good day. I don't even know if the Big 3 a good rest of your day. Jesus. I don't even know if the big three has $5 million to pay Caitlyn. Caitlyn's going to make, they already said she's going to make at least $3 million in
Starting point is 01:35:50 endorsements. So the whole injury thing is out the window. Her going to the WNBA is bigger than her. She has to go to the WNBA if we want to see the WNBA become what we know the WNBA can potentially be. Her, Angel Reese, Camila Cardoso, Brinks. I think that's her name. Brinks.
Starting point is 01:36:09 All of these people that's going to the league now, this is the first generation of women that is going to change the WNBA forever. That's true. And Caitlyn is probably a Michael Jordan level player. The way Michael Jordan changed things financially for the NBA, Caitlyn can do that for the WNBA. It's going to take time. Trust me, they're going to be the ones that's 10 years from now, 15 years from now complaining about these new girls making all this money
Starting point is 01:36:31 when they wasn't making it. Well, let's discuss it. 800-585-1051. We're talking Caitlin Clark. You know, Ice Cube offered her $5 million to join the Big Three. Should she take that money or should she go to the WNBA? Let's discuss this's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:36:46 Tell her. Made it. If y'all talking about it, you know we talking about it. It's topic time. Call 800-585-1051 to join in to the discussion with the Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:37:07 If you're just joining us, we're talking about Kaitlyn Clark. She was offered $5 million from Ice Cube to play in the Big 3. We're asking, should she play in the Big 3 or should she go to the WNBA? We got Chyna on the line. Chyna, good morning. Good morning. Good morning. How you feeling?
Starting point is 01:37:22 I'm good. How are you? Bless black and highly favored. What's your thoughts, mama? I would do the NBA, the WNBA, because they're probably going to get like millions of dollars in endorsement deals. So, and plus, it's probably been like a dream of theirs since they were like young. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:37 Okay. Yeah. And I hope next year, like I was saying earlier, you know, the NBA received, NBA players received 50% of all revenue. WNBA players share in only the revenue earned above the league's revenue target for that season. And the revenue target goes up by 20% each season. They should just switch it to where WNBA players get 50% of all revenue. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:56 So that's ticket sales, merchandise, broadcast deals, everything. Yeah. Hello, who's this? Melody. Hey, Melody, what's your thoughts? My thoughts are this. Everyone is watching the women's basketball right now because of these women, specifically Kaitlyn Clark.
Starting point is 01:38:14 She's making waves, so I say follow the money. Follow the bag. That contract she has, you're basically in middle classes like the struggle bus. Get your money. If you don't like the big three, I'm pretty sure the WNBA will welcome you back, and we're still going to watch. So make ways wherever you go. You're going to do it. Follow the money. Take care of your family. Yeah, but if you go to the big three, you're not elevating all women.
Starting point is 01:38:34 No, you're not, and you're right about that, Charlemagne. You're right. So I understand. So at this point, for me, I would have to do what I have to do financially, but if that's not her goal, if that's not her motive motive if she wants to be that trailblazer then by all means yes the WNBA would be the right choice to make that change and to draw the attention to elevate those women and bring that that league to a different
Starting point is 01:38:57 status so yes I agree with that as well it all depends on what she wants to do as far as making the impact where she wants to make the impact. So if she's about change and drawing attention, then the WNBA would be her choice. That's right. But also, you know, we have to continue to support. It can't just be a fad like we go watch it one year. Like, we have to support.
Starting point is 01:39:18 If she's going to make that sacrifice which she's making, we got to support her. We got to continue to buy the jerseys, continue to take our daughters and sons to go see them play continue to watch it on television because when's the last time you watched the wmba game not before this year jesus no no no because i've been talking about the wmba for years on this damn radio i've been to the game i've been to a game i've never been to a game but i watch i watched the wmba because i started following women's basketball hey guys i'm kate max you might know me from my popular online series,

Hey, y'all. Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records.
Starting point is 01:43:18 Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it.
Starting point is 01:43:46 And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was called a moment. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone. This is Courtney Thorne-Smith, Laura Layton, and Daphne Zuniga. On July 8th, 1992, apartment buildings with pools were never quite the same
Starting point is 01:44:28 as Melrose Place was introduced to the world. It took drama and mayhem to an entirely new level. We are going to be reliving every hookup, every scandal, every backstab, blackmail and explosion, and every single wig removal together. Secrets are revealed as we rewatch every moment with you. Special guests from back in the day will be dropping by. You know who they are. Sydney, Allison, and Joe are back together on Still the Place with a trip down memory
Starting point is 01:44:59 lane and back to Melrose Place. So listen to Still the Place on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Well, when Dawn Staley first won her championship for the University of South Carolina back in 2017 when Asia Wilson and all of them was there, and then Asia went to the WNBA and
Starting point is 01:45:23 went to the Las Vegas Aces. I done bought Las Vegas Aces jersey. You didn't see me in here wearing Asia Wilson's jersey. So I've been watching women's basketball. I never watched WNBA, actually. My son just got me watching the college football. I mean, based around women's. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:45:41 Did you like studs? I never. What? Studs are not. So are you trying to say all the WNBA are studs? No, but it's enough in there that you would like. It's enough in there. Yeah, but I'm not gay, yo.
Starting point is 01:45:50 But you're a Brittany Griner fan, though, right? Brittany Griner. Brittany loves you. I know she do. I love Brittany Griner, too, but I love her for other things. You love Brittany so much you went out and found a man that looked just like her. Anyway, we're moving on. Wow.
Starting point is 01:46:03 Yes, you did. Did you not? I love her because she's risky. She's not afraid to go to other countries. Brittany left a comment. Brittany left a comment on JustPage one day and said, you and Chris want to be us so bad. She did for real?
Starting point is 01:46:13 Yes, because she posted a picture of her and her boyfriend. She did? Yes, that is a fact. That is funny. You're a clown, yo. What did she say? She said something like that. She loves me.
Starting point is 01:46:22 She loves me. Don't worry about what she said. Don't worry about what me and Britt are doing. What's the moral of the story, guys? The moral of the story is what we just said. You got to support. She loves me. She loves me. Don't worry about what she says. Don't worry about what me and Brick are doing. What's the moral of the story, guys? The moral of the story is what we just said. You got to support. That's right. And I hope that the WNBA players, you know, do get their deal changed to where they get
Starting point is 01:46:33 50% of all revenue like NBA players do because it's about to be mad money going to the WNBA. It's going to be more money in ticket sales, more money in merchandise. Because of the Caitlin Clarks and the, you know, Angel Reese's and everybody, they're going to be more money in ticket sales, more money in merchandise. Because of the Caitlin Clarks and the Angel Reeses and everybody, they're going to get better broadcasting deals. So it's going to be a lot more money pouring into the league, and I hope them young ladies get it. That's right. Honestly, I'm actually looking forward to watching WNBA games or whatever.
Starting point is 01:46:57 So I hope she do go to the league. That's right. Yeah. All right. Well, we got Jess with the mess coming up. What are we talking about? Oh, my God. Drake, Kendrick, and Ross got these old rappers coming out the woodwork.
Starting point is 01:47:06 Benzino said he's ready to battle Eminem head on, face to face. Yes. You've been saying that for 20 years. But he said it again just now, yesterday. But we'll talk about that when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:47:21 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jess with the mess. News is real, what is the real? Jessica Robin Moore, Jess don't do no lie. Jess don't do no lie. She don't spare nobody. Worldwide Jess, worldwide mess.
Starting point is 01:47:42 On The Breakfast Club. She's a coach of shit. She was able to get y'all to see something and understand something that nobody could get you to see. It's time to set it all. So we're no strangers or whatever to Drake and Rick Ross clowning each other on social media. It's actually funny. I feel like Drake is showing his comedic side, right? So earlier this week, Drake dropped the diss record.
Starting point is 01:48:04 He went at Ross. Ross came back minutes later and um yesterday he shared on his instagram drake shared on his instagram a screenshot of a dm he sent to rick ross um and he captioned the screenshot look at how i talked to this turkey he should you should have just asked for another feature yo called him a turkey all right so he said imagine you having an 88 million imagine you have an 88 million to spend on a crib. Your ish be steals like you got them from a police auction. Your Star Island house on a sliver of cheesecake. Your lot 40,000 square feet.
Starting point is 01:48:35 My crib is 40,000 square feet. Leonard. I was talking about you, Charlamagne. I'm Leonard. It's the same. It's spelled the same. It's Leonard. But yo, Rick Ross name, his middle name Leonard same It's Leonard But yo Rick Ross name
Starting point is 01:48:45 His middle name Leonard It's always a clown With the name Leonard Like that's so funny I'm sorry Mine is Leonard It's Leonard in Baltimore Alright
Starting point is 01:48:53 You put a rap On your time shed Jet And that is coming off When it's the other people Turning to fly That's so petty You're
Starting point is 01:49:00 You're Brett Barish worker How many cases You gotta move Before you get a check Finally It's probably took you A lifetime to get Some real bread And you're Brett's son now You're not Barish, worker. How many cases you got to move before you get a check finally? It's probably took you a lifetime to get some real bread. And you're Brett's son now. You're not Rosé no more.
Starting point is 01:49:10 So, I didn't know. Like, honestly, I really didn't know he didn't own Champagne Rosé. Who, Bella? Yeah, I didn't know he didn't. I'm sure he owned some of it. I'm sure he got some. Well, Brett is the original owner. Remember, he sold Ace of Spades to Jay.
Starting point is 01:49:24 I'm sure he owes a percentage of it, though. He just goes so hard for it. And he does great marketing. But then again, we thought Diddy owned Ciroc, too. I really did. But he had equity in it, though. He had 30% equity in it. Okay.
Starting point is 01:49:35 Yeah. But see how beefs can reveal certain truths. I mean, I didn't know. All right, Drake rose to his Miami home, too, saying that the mansion you sandwiched in, which is on brand, because the vacant land around you is not even yours. It's a Miami starter pack. You living in a content creator crib.
Starting point is 01:49:53 Crazy. Crazy. And this was all a response to what Rick Ross has said to him in a video. It's like battling against nerds. It's like sitting in a class and you watching all the nerds put together their best science project to present to the class. Man, y'all can't have that shit. I ain't with that shit. Your nose fake.
Starting point is 01:50:10 Your stomach fake. You don't write raps. Your biggest homies in foreclosure. Come on, man. No, no. Ain't nothing wrong with talking shit. But Drake, you got to keep it at one line. That shit you doing got to take 20 minutes.
Starting point is 01:50:21 One line or don't DM me no more. So basically everything that he repeated i mean that he already said in the diss track is what he said in the video listen the ross and drake thing is entertaining uh on instagram but let's not let that distract any of us from the fact that kendrick lamar is on the clock okay he's on the clock in regards to a reply to push up i actually thought drake was to drop again today. He might. Give us a back-to-back part, too.
Starting point is 01:50:48 He might. I waited four days, y'all. Where Dot at? Okay? Another drone strike because Kendrick is on the clock. Y'all been throwing subliminals at each other for years. You dropped a like that three weeks ago. Cole has replied and apologized, but he replied within a week.
Starting point is 01:51:00 Drake replied within two weeks, and he went further than Kendrick ever did. Right. You know, because he gave Kendrick a whole record with Push Up. And he went further than Kendrick ever did. Right. You know, because he gave Kendrick a whole record with push-ups. So, Kendrick, you on the clock. And the more days go by,
Starting point is 01:51:09 the more expectation builds to the point where you might can't even live up to it. Yeah, you know, I hate the talking back and forth. I like rap. Like, these brothers can rap when you're talking J. Cole,
Starting point is 01:51:19 when you're talking Dot, when you're talking Ross, or you're talking Drake. We only want Kendrick. I want rap. Like, rap. We only want Kendrick and Drake. I want rap. We only want Kendrick and Drake. Yeah. That's all we want.
Starting point is 01:51:27 But I want to hear rap. I don't want to hear talk. Just rap. And hopefully Kendrick is cooking up. But he on the clock. He on the clock. He is on the clock. I hate when rappers talk back and forth, too.
Starting point is 01:51:37 Because I hate reporting it. I really didn't understand most of it. It's stupid. You got the only way to spell. This is crazy. It's stupid. But only way to spell is this is crazy. It's stupid. But, you know, my house is $88 million. My house is $36 million.
Starting point is 01:51:49 I have a jumbo jet. I have a regular jet. And I know this is very appealing and nice for men, but I... Nobody else listening got any of that. I'm like, no. 99 point something percent of their consumers cannot relate. Yeah, I just... In no way, shape, or form.
Starting point is 01:52:03 I can't even believe I just did this. No. So i i'm sorry for all the people who turned that part down because i i wouldn't even listen to this the best part was you you brett something worker because he called him you know sex worker whatever but he said you he said he didn't say sex work oh no somebody called drake a sex worker one one of them called him and that's when he said he called him a something something worker you know that guy whatever but don't know i felt like nikki and megan beef was better than this and megan didn't even say nothing that's your whole time but i just felt like that was better and more entertaining than this so all nikki did was get on instagram and social media yeah but it's just like the comebacks.
Starting point is 01:52:46 I mean, I don't know. It was just more entertaining and more exciting than the Turkey. Well, I'm sorry. Than Rick Ross and Drake. Well, don't let any of that distract you from the fact that Kendrick Lamar is on the clock. Yes. Okay? Kendrick and Drake is the main event.
Starting point is 01:53:03 That's what we are here to see. Kendrick, you on the clock. Mm-hmm. All right? You on the clock. Kendrick and Drake is the main event. That's what we are here to see. Kendrick, you're on the clock. You're on the clock. I know we gotta go, but you gotta tell us about Eminem and Benzino. We've teased it. Now, more in old rapper news, Benzino says again that he is ready to battle Eminem.
Starting point is 01:53:20 He was talking to TMZ just now. I thought that I was lyrically better than Eminem, but at this point, after Rap Elvis, I believe I could face-to-face battle with him. And I'm willing to do so. I'm willing to challenge him right here on TMZ. A face-to-face battle.
Starting point is 01:53:36 Kendrick is on the clock. Hey! Kendrick is on the clock. And if you fool around and let Drake drop again today, a back-to-back part two, because he did this before. He gave us Charged Up on a Saturday and he, a back-to-back part two, because he did this before. He gave us Charged Up on a Saturday, and he gave us back-to-back on a Wednesday. A way to four days, y'all. Where that at?
Starting point is 01:53:53 If you drop again today, that, ooh. Do you know something we don't know? No, I don't. I'm just saying what I would love to see. All right. You know? Don't tell me to report none of this just so you can have an excuse to keep telling Kendrick he on the clock. He don't care.
Starting point is 01:54:05 All right. Kendrick is on the clock. He don't care. All right. Kendrick is on the clock. I did not tell you to report no Benzino on Eminem. You were like, no. I did not say that. No, but that's breaking Ross. I'm like, I don't want to talk about that. And you said, no, you will talk about this. But you were so hyped to report Benzino on Eminem.
Starting point is 01:54:17 He actually said, why is he reporting Benzino on Eminem? Can we pull that story? If you're going to report Benzino on Eminem, you got to report Benzino on Ross. He was like, can you take that paper from her so when she comes back in, she don't see it? That is so petty. All right. That is just with the mess. Let's get to the mix.
Starting point is 01:54:30 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. You're checking out The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarion, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let me just salute to Lakeisha and Miles and the whole staff at American Dream. I took my kids skiing yesterday.
Starting point is 01:54:44 They have spring break, so I tried to do something different with them. Monday, I went to see Kung Fu Panda 4, the 3D edition. Yesterday, I took them skiing. I just try to do something different with them every day because they have spring break. Just to have a little fun. So, salute to them and thank you for everything. Yesterday, they had a ball there. All right?
Starting point is 01:55:04 I love it. Also, we got to salute Will.i.am for joining us this morning. Man, I learned something every time Will.i.am comes to the Breakfast Club. He's got a new company, FYI AI, which is an AI-based company. I guess we don't have no choice but to embrace AI. I'm still afraid of, you know, a lot of the potential danger. Because even this week when we see all of these A.I. songs and we can't figure out and we didn't know
Starting point is 01:55:26 whether the Drake diss was real at first then you hear all of these Kendrick records and you're like yo I don't know this A.I. is not what happens when it's like
Starting point is 01:55:32 world leaders you know delivering messages so I don't know man I guess we don't have no choice but to embrace it and if that's the way we're supposed to go out
Starting point is 01:55:41 that's the way we go out yo you cannot keep manifesting what is wrong with you trying to go out like that? I'm just saying. It is what it is. Nothing you can do about it. I learned a long time ago my serenity prayer.
Starting point is 01:55:51 You know the serenity prayer? No. Yes, you do. What is it? God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. I just didn't know that it was called a serenity prayer.
Starting point is 01:56:01 But yeah, we need people like you with that mindset toward it. We're always ready for something. Always ready to go out like that. And then we need people like Will.i.am who's on the optimistic side of things too. So yeah. All right. Well, when we come back, we got the positive notes. So don't move.
Starting point is 01:56:18 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Now it's time to get up out of here, Charlamagne you got a positive note? I want to say thank you to everybody who's been going out there to purchase My Black Country, A Journey Through

Starting point is 01:56:48 Okay, we're no longer on 105.3 to beat. We're on 96.1. They kept it a secret from us. And I was sitting there thinking, because I'm looking in the comments and I'm looking at people saying, you know, hey man, y'all not on 105.3 to beat no more.
Starting point is 01:57:00 They took y'all off. And some people are replying to them saying, hey, they're now on 96.1 you know what we should've did what our last week on 105.3
Starting point is 01:57:09 what's that tell people that we was moving to 96.1 yes oh wow yeah I'm just saying
