You just got to buy merch and free order my book. And that is the smartest thing that I've ever done. People coming up telling me about the baby mama,
Starting point is 00:03:31 baby daddy situations. Yo, it's so fire, so they can't wait April 28th when the book actually drops. But it's available for pre-order now. I'm excited about this. Nice hat. Thank you. Appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:03:43 I didn't really mean it, but where'd you order it from? Alaska. Alaska. Ah, yeah. Jesus. Yeah. Jesus, Jesus. I got game, nigga.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Jesus. How was your weekend was good, man. You know, minus the BS life is great. Yes. Absolutely. Mine is everything that's going on in the world. Yes. Okay, life is fantastic.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Yes, I had a date night this weekend with the wife. Oh, don't. What's the stuff? Where y'all go? We went to town. You know, Tau's our spot. So we went to Tau in the city. Man.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Boy, y'all getting money. You and Jets? Wow. What do you mean? Me and Jets? You're out of his books and Merge. Y'all getting money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Every time I sell the book, you get some money to play it. Oh, that's true. That's true. That's true. You know what I'm saying? You know what's, you know, every once in a while, Madison to take the kids and just allow us to walk around the house naked, which is great. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Which we enjoy. That's what I'm. She takes kids to her house. Yeah, she takes kids to her house. Okay. We can walk around. Anyway, why do you want to walk around naked? Why do we say that?
Starting point is 00:04:37 Who really walks around naked? People are, that's what I'm saying? If people really walk around their house naked, I sleep naked and I get up to go to the bathroom. Right. I ain't just walking in the kitchen, beat swinging. Why not? Nobody really does that.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Who does that for real? Me. Me. I know that's right. Kicking out of my go downstairs. I know that's right. Yes. Go congratulations.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Cook some breakfast, Nick. Let's get the show cracking. Corey Bush will be joining us this morning. She's running to represent Missouri, St. Louis, and St. Louis the first congressional district. So she's running for that. She was actually, she held that spot
Starting point is 00:05:12 and she was beating, what, two years ago? Wasn't it two years ago? Oh, yeah. I think it was two years ago. Yeah, yeah. So she's back running again. So we're going to talk to Corey Bush. And then we got front page.
Starting point is 00:05:22 News, Mimi's here. She got a lot to discuss. this morning. There's a lot going on. Too much going on in the world. She's going to break it all down when we come back. So don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. And today is the first day of March. Oh, second day. A second day in March, yes.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Glorilla. LaRilla March. The Breakfast Club, good morning. I never heard that. That's fire. Did she put it on her Instagram one time. Oh, are you? I never heard it. A little snippet of it. I like it. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:05:47 God have to make some goddamn music. She sure does. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. What's up, Mimi? Good morning, M.B., Jess, Charlamagne. Hey, good morning. A lot going on this weekend. A lot going on this morning. So we're going to start this morning with our top story. The United States is at war. So over the weekend, U.S. forces, they carried out coordinated strikes with Israel,
Starting point is 00:06:09 targeting Iran's military leadership and weapons system. Iran's supreme leader and more than 40 senior officials were killed. Iran retaliated. And the Pentagon confirmed three American service members have been killed in an Iranian strike in Kuwait. Five others were wounded. Late last night, President Trump, he addressed the nation calling the fallen true American patriots. Let's listen. As one nation, we grieve for the true American patriots who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, even as we continue the righteous mission for which they gave their lives. We pray for the full recovery of the wounded and send our immense love and eternal gratitude to the families of
Starting point is 00:06:54 the fallen and sadly there will likely be more who wants to hear that nobody especially if you have a family in the military the U.S. says hundreds of Iranian targets have now been hit including sites tied to Iran's elite military units
Starting point is 00:07:13 missile systems and naval assets and there are reports this morning of heavy civilian casualties inside Iran I don't know if you guys have heard about this but a school, a young girl's school. Right now, according to Iran, the number is 100 of children who were killed when a missile struck that school. And meanwhile, Iran continues to strike back. Missiles and drones have targeted U.S. bases, at least nine countries in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia,
Starting point is 00:07:38 Qatar, Bahrain. Am I saying that right? Bahrain, Iran, I think. You're asking this room? I'm asking this room. I'm asking this room. I think it's about Iran. I DJ did twice on a military base, but I think it's about Ron.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Okay. And the UAE, which includes Dubai, most of those nations have American forces or American bases. Airports in large part have shut down. Americans are being urged to shelter in place. And U.S. embassies, they remain on high alert this morning. Watching Dubai get hit was crazy because it's just like, you know how many times I've been in that airport. You know what I mean? People go to Dubai, you know, for tourist reasons and have a good time. And you just end up caught in the middle of a war. Yeah, I've been to Dubai. And like I said, I've been to Iran. and it's just so sad because there's tourists there.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Like I've seen people on, I think, the South Carolina team that was stuck in there. Oh, yeah, I saw Don Stanley post there. Don't know, saying a bunch of players are stuck there. People that are just, just there just trying to get back home, just stuck. And it's just very sad. But, you know, my question to you is I've seen, you know, I just followed us on Instagram, social media. I've seen a bunch of Iranians seem like they're happy. Are they happy about this?
Starting point is 00:08:42 Is this a good thing, bad thing? I don't know. I think it's a mixed bag. That's what I was going to say. You have it on both sides, right? You have the ones that are happy And you have the ones that, you know, have been in the streets protesting
Starting point is 00:08:52 They killed their supreme leader So it's just kind of like What would happen here in the United States? You have some people who would be upset And you have some people who'll be happy You know what I mean? What does this mean like for us now though? What do we?
Starting point is 00:09:05 What do we do? Because you know, I know They hit like a school over there And all of that You know what I mean? So like what do we have to expect At our main hubs like New York, L.A. Well, I'm glad that you asked that question
Starting point is 00:09:16 Because that literally takes me to my next story. The president, though, says this operation is called Operation Epic Fury. It will last four to five weeks. I think it's going to end up being called Operation Epic Fail. Nobody in America wants to see hundreds of billions of dollars spent on war when they're
Starting point is 00:09:31 struggling to make ends meet here, man. Not to mention, you have, you have to watch all these kids in other countries being killed. We put in our own troops in danger. And you told us you were the anti-war president. That's what you campaigned are. That's right. You told people there would be no new wars in the Middle East under you. And people feel you're only doing this because you're Israel's
Starting point is 00:09:47 bitch, like, that's not going, this going to end up being operation that we fell. You know, and then they say they were looking for weapons of mass destruction. They've been saying this for like the last 12 years. All their weapons of mass destruction, is that the real reason? Do we know? I thought they got rid of all of the nuclear weapons, their capabilities last. That's what they said last time.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Last summer. Yeah, they did say that. And now we're searching for them again. And just hours after that U.S. strike on Iran, the reported killing of its supreme leader, violence erupted here at home, Jess. So in Austin, Texas, a gun. and opened fire outside a bar in the early morning hours of Sunday morning. Now, police say two people were killed and 14 others were wounded.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Three of the injured, they remained in critical condition this morning. Law enforcement sources say the suspect was a 53-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Senegal. Witnesses say he drove past the bar several times before stopping and firing his SUV into a crowded patio. He got out with a rifle and began shooting people along the street. Now, I'm told that this is a very crowded. it like bar scene, college town, kids are out, you know, just having fun on a weekend night. Officers responded within minutes and shot and killed the man. But authorities say he was wearing clothing with religious references, including an Iranian flag
Starting point is 00:11:00 designed, with an Iranian flag design and the words, property of Allah. So the FBI is investigating. Let's listen quickly to what they said. There were indicators that on the subject and in his vehicle that indicate potential nexus to terrorism. So to answer your questions, just, these are the type of things you have to work. Yeah. Yeah. Very scary. Yes. Yeah. So authorities also executed a search warrant at his home and found an Iranian flag, photos of Iranian leaders. Law enforcement say they also discovered a Quran in his vehicle as well.
Starting point is 00:11:35 I did have two other questions. One, wasn't Donald Trump supposed to get approval for war? I'm glad that you said that too. Yeah, Congress was supposed to approve it, correct? They are supposed to approve it. And so Capitol Hill, lawmakers are really upset about that. It's triggering a political fight right now in Washington, Democrats, joined by a handful of Republicans. They're demanding a vote on his war powers. You're right.
Starting point is 00:11:59 The president is supposed to get congressional approval before he does anything like this, especially taking military action against Iran. And so that has not happened yet. I'm told that they are gearing up for that vote, hopefully some time today, if not today, some time within the next couple of days. But Republican leadership,
Starting point is 00:12:15 they are urging members to oppose them. measure and stand back behind the president. It's crazy. Crazy, crazy, crazy, man. Crazy, crazy. So basically, they found out when we found out, like, what was going on. Damn.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Wow. But I did hear that. Marco Rubio, he did call seven out of the eight lawmakers who he was supposed to inform. He was able to reach seven out of the eight before this happened. What you say?
Starting point is 00:12:39 Turn your TV on. Yeah. Turn the TV on. Turn the TV on. Check the TV on. Probably. But still, nevertheless, he's supposed to get permission before anything like this goes down. So we'll continue to watch.
Starting point is 00:12:52 And coming up at seven, thousands of companies, they are battling to recover that money paid by tariffs. So does that mean cash for you? We'll talk about it. One company is promising to put something in your pocket. I know, that's right. And if you do have family in Dubai, I think they released a statement this morning that said Abu Dhabi and Dubai's government has said that if you're stuck there, because of what's going on, they will take care of the hotel stay. Oh, okay. So just if you have family over there, just follow into that.
Starting point is 00:13:19 I don't know how true that or how accurate it is, but that's what they're saying. So if you do have family over there, hopefully they are taking, you know, care of that part of it. Gary. All right, Mimi. Mimi's here, by the way, too, guys. So Mimi will be joining us next hour. Everybody else, get it off your chest, 800-585-105-1. If you need to vent, hit us up right now.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Talk about your weekend. Talk about what's going on in the world. Doesn't matter. Call us up right now. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Ray, Ray, Ray. Yo, Shal, man.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Envi, what up? Are we live? This is your time to get it off your chest. I got an indoor pool, an outdoor pool. We want to hear from you on the breakfast club. We can get on the phone right now. We'll tell you what it is. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:13:57 What's up? This is Shetville. Shatown. What's up? What's up? Columbia, South Carolina. 803. Metro, what's happening?
Starting point is 00:14:05 What's up? I just want to take good morning and give just her flowers because I went to her shirtless weekend. And she is so genuine. She's like the best. I got to meet her. I got her book and I got her a crew neckless sweater. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:19 Thank you. Get her merch. I appreciate that, baby, girl. It's me, Chantelle. It's me, Chantelle. I know you remember me. Oh, it's your Shantel? That's what's up. You know, you good?
Starting point is 00:14:28 You made it home safe and everything. You ain't go where you weren't supposed to go, right? I definitely didn't. Okay. What she said she was going? She called up a few, like a few times and I fixed her mess. You know, she was trying to get from under the spell of her baby daddy. Oh, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:14:43 I don't do that for the kids, but you still want people heard. That ain't gonna work. That raw PPA ain't called you this weekend. She almost went. I bet you she went. She went. She ain't go. I got faith in my girl.
Starting point is 00:14:52 You went home and got some kids, right? I definitely did. That drive was an hour and a half away. Yeah, she drove down from Columbia to Greenville to come to the shows. I just wanted to call up me and say thank you, Jess. Like, I appreciate everything that you said to me. And just coming out to soccer in mind. That's how I can see you.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Absolutely. I love you. I love you too. Bye y'all. All right. Hello, who's this? Yo, good morning. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:15:13 How you are doing? Good morning. Can you take us all Bluetooth for speaker? We can barely hear you, brother. About night, better? There you go. Coach Davis, good morning. All right.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Yes, sir. Good morning. Good morning. Hey, listen, you know, last year, June, that man in the 10 hair got on TV and said, yo, we obliterated their uranium. Nuclear facilities to the point to where, you know, they can't produce anything. Right. Yep.
Starting point is 00:15:40 You know? And now we're back at it with these guys. You know, what's crazy is Obama's. put together a nice deal, you know, with Iran, this man came in and obliterated, and now he wants to do a new deal, a new deal for what? And you go right into this war, which is crazy, you know, but the thing about war is, what's the outcome? Who's benefiting for me? You know, I watched the ticket yesterday on CNN, and he was just talking about how the oil prices he's going to go through the roof.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Yep. Our gas is about to go through the roof. Yep. You know, so somebody's benefited from war. From either side, it doesn't matter, you know, and I want to give my condolses to the soldiers that fell, that should not have fallen. And this guy is talking so recklessly about,
Starting point is 00:16:30 well, you know, there might be some more. So, so happily, you know, and it's just sad, man. You know, I just feel for the state of affairs for this country, and I just pray for this country, man, for real. Yeah, he talks like, he talks about human life, like it's just livestock. Yeah, and that is true, too. It's just like, you know, I don't understand what the plan is because he's saying we're going to take the leadership out and then the people, I'm encouraging the people to take over. What the hell does that mean?
Starting point is 00:16:54 Take over your own country. That sounds crazy. Get it off your chest. 800-585-105-105-1. If you need to vent, hit us up now. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. This is your time to get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Whether you're mad or blessed. I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk. I hate the way that you dress. Everything with me is best. Call up next. 800 585-105-101. Not just me. I'm with the coach of feeling.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Hello, who's this? Yo, what's up? This is Dante, talking about from James West Florida. What's up, Dante? Get it off your chest. Morning. Good morning. Hey, sure, me.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Y'all out there this morning? What you mean? Are we out here? We in here. Yeah, I feel that. Hey, man. Listen, yo, I'm missing my homies right now. I just wanted to give everybody a happy Monday, man.
Starting point is 00:17:39 I'm blessed to be on my way to work. into half of God. That's right. And, you know, just to be truly blessed to walk into this new month and this new week with a good head on our shoulder. So I just want to send some positive energy to everybody out here, man. You know what I'm saying? Head up, pay your bills and let's get this week rocking, baby.
Starting point is 00:17:56 I love it. Receive, receive. That's actually the mentality that everybody should have. You should wake up this morning to say, I get to do, you know, whatever it is that you're doing today. Right? Because there's people out here, you know, dying to be in the position that you're in right now. You're right. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:18:10 Oh, this is Jay. Jay, what up? Get it up for your chest, brother. Yeah, man. I'm just kind of the hypocrisy, bro. Like, Charlamagne just said that, what was that same energy
Starting point is 00:18:20 and Biden was in Paul when they were sending hundreds of millions of billions of dollars to Israel? I didn't like that either. But now... But you didn't voice it.
Starting point is 00:18:30 But you didn't voice it. Yes, I did. Are you crazy? You out of your mind. I don't like seeing... Every morning. I didn't voice it. No, you don't.
Starting point is 00:18:40 No, you don't. No, you don't. No, L. Cool, Ben. No, you don't. Okay, I was the same energy when ICE was doing the same thing when Biden and Kamala wasn't for us. Because they've been doing this. Yes, they've been doing this since the Bush era. I'm against all of it, brother. I don't know what you're talking about. Any other questions? No, that's it. Have a good one, man. Get it off your chest, 800-585-105-105-1. What's up, Lauren? Good morning.
Starting point is 00:19:05 We got the latest happiness like a Seattle Seahawk this morning. Oh, my God. Shut up. Seattle, Seattle, Seattle. See your all colors. Shout out to the muse brand. She's a black. No, this is a black designer.
Starting point is 00:19:15 She's from Philadelphia. Shout out to the news brand. That's what looked like she was laying in the place. That was like Seattle C all colors. I like the bracelets. I don't know if it's unisex. Oh, okay. I like your bracelets.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Thank you. You're welcome. It's a lot happening at one time. I want to be what? You want the woman is so bad. No, I don't. All right. We got the latest coming up when we talk about.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Yes, we do. We're going to bring the energy up. It's all this craziness happening in the world. This weekend, I feel like we got to celebrate the N-WACP Image Awards and then we saw all the big wins at the SAG or Actors Awards. Like there's just so much black joy we're going to get into
Starting point is 00:19:46 and some craziness and the barbs and yeah. We're going to go there. We'll get into that next and don't go anywhere. It's the Breakfast Club. Come on. You're talking, L.L. Cube.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Yeah. I'm not dumbing myself. Damn. I'm being myself. That's course is much. I'm the home guy that knows a little bit about everything and everything. The little brown girls look at you and go, I want to be like you.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Take me through that. Take me through that. Where she's gone? The latest with Lauren Lowe. Take me through that. On the breakfast club. L.L. Coulbe, Lauren Lorosa, plugging in her headphones.
Starting point is 00:20:21 Like she hasn't been doing this for the last few years. Well, we had to get some straightening happening. Yes. Okay, so first, I want to say I have my girl, Mimi Brown, here with me. Hello. Who's in studio today, and y'all know she does our front page news, but Mimi went to the NAACP Image Awards. So there was a lot that was happening on the stage that was bleeped out.
Starting point is 00:20:38 And I'm hitting her like, wait. Like what's happening because they bleep it out when we watch it, but she gets to see it. So we're going to. I bet you bothered her throughout the whole award. I actually didn't. I bothered her more yesterday and this morning than anything. Okay. So let's get into the image awards.
Starting point is 00:20:52 So Dionne Coe hosted again. We know that because it came up here and talked about it. He was so great. So his opening monologue, he did a prayer within that opening monologue, which has been receiving some criticisms. Let's take a listen to Deon Cole and his prayer. Lord, I want you to bless our sister, Tiana Taylor. Lord. Keep her single and weigh from six three green-eyed men with muscles, Lord. Give the average man a chance with her, Lord.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Hell, give the average woman a chance with her as well. Lord, I want you to bless our brother 50 cents, Lord. Damn it. You know what, Lord, bless him with some more petty ideas, Lord. That'll help us at work, Lord, definitely. Lord, we want you to bless our sister Nikki Minaj, Lord. Yes. I believe whatever's in her ass is affecting her brain, Lord. We bind that spirit in our ass,
Starting point is 00:21:46 Lord. Before we go, Lord, if there are any white men out here in the audience, Lord, with Tourette's. I advise you to tell them they better read the room tonight, Lord. hilarious. What's wrong? The little prayer. I love it. So, I mean, okay, I didn't think
Starting point is 00:22:04 that there was anything wrong with the prayer, but people, there are some people, including the Barbes, who think that Dion took it too far with the Nicki Minajoke. He would, Dionne literally had to post. I mean, he would, I mean, he would, I don't literally had to post some of the messages he was receiving after the joke. People telling him to go dick up his mom, talking about people's moms being fat and
Starting point is 00:22:19 sloppy. I guess because we in the hip-hop space, we're used to the barbs of taxes. Yeah. No, I was like, that mean, he did great if they're that upset. It's so normal. That's so normal for the barbs. What did he bleep out when he said about 50? Like, what was that?
Starting point is 00:22:35 Okay. The 50 part isn't even the part that got the audience going, right? It was the Nikki part. So you should have seen the people in the audience. They were literally like awkwardly smiling. Like is it okay to laugh? Like head in their hands, like shoulders going. I saw Chloe, Chloe Bailey sister, Chloe Bailey. Was like, oh my God, I don't know what the difference. But I don't know why you expect him to go there and I think he did a good job with it. He did a great job with it. It was funny. And then we got in to the awards of the night. Senters sweep the awards. They won 13 awards in total. Outstanding motion picture, entertainer of the year. Michael B. Jordan. I'll stand a breakthrough performance, Miles Canton. I mean, the list go
Starting point is 00:23:11 on and on and on and on. But Delroy Lindo actually took some time on stage before he began a presentation to address what happened at the BAFTA Awards. I take a listen. Thank you. Thank you. Before we start, I'd just like to officially say that we appreciate, I appreciate, we appreciate all the support and the love that we have been shown in the aftermath of what happened last weekend. It means a lot to us. It is a honor to be here amongst our people this evening amongst so much. Indian women are looking for more. More to themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders, and the world around them.

I'm Clayton Eckerd, and in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first Bachelor to ever have his final rose rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show? made even bigger headlines.
Starting point is 00:25:38 It began as a one-night stand and ended in a courtroom with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Agree to date me,
Starting point is 00:25:52 but I'm also suing you. Please search warrant. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. This season, an epic battle of He Said She Said.
Starting point is 00:26:05 and the search for accountability in a sea of lies. Listen to Love Trapped on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to the A building. I'm Hans Charles. I'm Mennelick Lamumba. It's 1969. Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. had both been assassinated.
Starting point is 00:26:32 And Black America is out of breaking point. Writing and protests broke out on an unprecedented scale. In Atlanta, Georgia at Martin's Almemata, Moore House College, the students' had their own protest. It featured two prominent figures in black history, Martin Luther King Sr. and a young student, Samuel L. Jackson.
Starting point is 00:26:52 To be in what we really thought was a revolution. I mean, people would die. In 1968, the murder of Dr. King, which traumatized everyone. The FBI had a role in the murder of a Black Panther leader in Chicago.
Starting point is 00:27:08 This story is about protest. It echoes in today's world far more. than it should, and it will blow your mind. Listen to the A-building on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What do you do in the headlines don't explain what's happening inside of you? Starting point is 00:27:47 We talk about what drives us, what shapes us, and what gives us hope. We get honest about the big stuff, identity when you don't recognize yourself anymore, loss that changes you, purpose when success isn't enough, peace when your mind won't slow down, fake when it's complicated. Some guests have answers. Most are still figuring it out. If you've ever felt like there has to be more to the story, this show is for you. Listen to if you can hear me on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Many people who have shown us such incredible support, and it's a classic case of something that could have been very negative, becoming very positive. Thank you so much for this support.
Starting point is 00:28:34 It was still negative. Okay. What happened at the Baptist was still negative. Yeah, but I guess it was showing the amount of support that they received was so positive and so loving. So that's dope. Nothing makes you get over a nigger like your niggas. No, for real. Yesterday, when I was, I watched it yesterday.
Starting point is 00:28:52 I didn't watch it live when it air. And I was watching, I'm like, dang, I know, like, you watch that and you go watch something like the Sagger to Actors Awards. And I'm like the cultural difference and just the different feeling of like love and us in that room. I know it felt good for them to be in that. But Regina Hall also took some time. She was on stage and she made sure she showed Delroyland Doe and Michael B. Jordan
Starting point is 00:29:12 Some Love. Let's take a listen. I'd like also to just take a moment to the two kings who are in this audience and just send you so much love for your class. And that is Michael B. Jordan and Del Roy Lundell. Yeah, and then also that night, Michael B. Jordan, he accepted the lead actor award. You also had Viola Davis who accepted the chairman's award, who also gave a very moving speech. That was like the SAG Awards, right? That was at the NWACP.
Starting point is 00:29:44 NWASP. Image Awards. I'm about to head into SAG because we do want to get there. But Salt and Pepper and DJ Spinderella also accepted the Hall of Fame Award last night at the NWACP Image Awards too. So I wanted to make sure we showed them some love. But getting into the SAG Awards
Starting point is 00:29:59 and I know Mimi, you're going to talk more about the Image Awards on Front Page News because there was also some ICE stuff that was brought up. Some Eustine stuff that was brought up. Yeah. And I don't know why some of the stuff that they blurred off. I feel like it should have been fine. Because even that Delver-Lindo moment, if you watch certain broadcasts, even today,
Starting point is 00:30:15 the part where he thanks people for their support is not in there. Like they took it out. I had to go to Twitter to find it. Most outlets, when they covered it, by saying thank you for supporting? I don't know what the controversy around him feeling supported as a black man is, but maybe there was one. Because most outlets, if you go, they don't have the video.
Starting point is 00:30:31 They just have like the, like they transcribed it. And I don't know why. But yeah, so going over to the SAG Awards are now called the Actors Awards, which went down last night in L.A., Zendaya, we found out on the carpet that Zendaya is now married to Tom Holland. Hey.
Starting point is 00:30:48 You and Zendaya have the relationship. Every stylist and every celebrity would love to have. We know she's going to be getting married. Are we thinking about the looks already for the wedding? Do you come to her and say, hey Zendaya, I think. Or does she say, this is the bride I want to look like? The wedding already happened. Y'all missed that.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Well, you know, the other day they said she had on a gold band and folks were wondering. The wedding is over. Sorry. Would you stop? I love them too. That was Laura Roach. That was her stylist. So the world found out last night that Zendaya was married,
Starting point is 00:31:16 and then we went into the actual... How did they get pregnant before Roo? I thought Rue would have got pregnant before Zendaya. What? She pregnant? I didn't... I never knew she... Or married or something.
Starting point is 00:31:26 I don't know. You confirmed me something? And so many confirmed Zendaya is pregnant. But we all got quiet. Like, what are you talking about? I don't know. I love them too. They're dope.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Dope. Yeah, so, and Tiana Tailed on her carpet, her and her baby girl, uh, they stole the, the whole night. But going into the actual awards, sinners mentioned again, Ryan Cougler made history
Starting point is 00:31:49 at the Actors Award last night. He's the first person to direct two cast ensemble winners for sinners and then for Black Panther, which he did some years ago that took home some SAG Awards. So there was a very different experience. It was hosted by Kristen Bell,
Starting point is 00:32:04 very different. Michael B. Jordan won at the SAG Awards, right? So does that increase his chances of winning at the Oscars? I don't know how that works. Yeah, 100%. They do. And the fact that because sinners took home a lot yesterday at the SAG Awards and at the NAACP Image Awards.
Starting point is 00:32:19 So most people now are predicting that whatever they are looking at Oscars-wise nomination, it's like a sweet. And why the SAG award looks so cheap? It looked like a goddamn candle. Yeah. Don't have a what? It looks like a big candle. You never seen the SAGELWARD? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Did you say Christian Bell hosted? Yes. Really? And she did. Her model, right? Yeah. Oh, Christian Bell, the guy that played. Bam.
Starting point is 00:32:39 No, the girl. The girl. Oh, Kristen. Yeah, she opened with like this like she did like a like a dance kind of like a Broadway type of dance thing. It was so different than Diaco and I watched them both in the same night and I was like, yo, the big difference. Oh my God, yes. Like completely the big difference. But yes, Mimi will be talking more about some of the other things in front page news later.
Starting point is 00:32:59 All right. Now next when we come back, all right? Front page news happened in the minutes. Oh, when we come anywhere. It's here live. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. This morning everybody is Dee J.N.V.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Jess O'Lari and Shalami. We are the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Let's get to, I'm going to say the latest. Let's get to Friday. Meeb's here, ladies and gentlemen. Hey, girl. What's up, Mimi?
Starting point is 00:33:20 Hey, good morning, everyone. How y'all doing this morning? Good. Good morning. Okay, so we start this hour with something that we don't say enough in the news, which is you could be getting money back. I think that's good news that everyone wants to hear, right? From who now? I'm about to tell you.
Starting point is 00:33:34 So after the Supreme Court ruled that the president, his emergency terrorists were illegal, more than 1,000 companies. They have now filed a lawsuit trying to recover that money for what they paid for those tariffs. And so this is where it could hit your wallet. So FedEx says if they get money back from the government, it will send that money back to customers who paid those extra charges in the first place. The timing, though, is not clear yet. Courts still have to sort out how refunds would actually work. But FedEx is saying very plainly that if we get refunded, so will you. And that's not the only money news.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Y'all not getting refunding. Not anytime soon, but, you know, that's what they're saying. FedEx ain't getting no refund either. Mimi's keeping hope loud. I'm trying to. People need hope right now. It's hard out here. People need hope.
Starting point is 00:34:22 But that's not the only money news. So if you have State Farm insurance, you'll want to listen to this too. Okay. State Farm says they're sending money back to drivers. So about $100 per vehicle on average to auto insurance companies this summer. In total, that's about $5 billion going back to people's bank accounts. So the company said that it had a better financial year than it expected. Repair costs are down.
Starting point is 00:34:45 So instead of keeping that extra cushion, it's returning some of that money to customers. I know that's right. And I got State Farm. Yes. I love it. Okay. So here's the cherry on top. It's not going to show up as a credit on your bill.
Starting point is 00:34:57 They say it will be actual cash paid out. Really? Yes. Really? Yeah. How much do they say? How many people, though? Like, how many people?
Starting point is 00:35:05 A lot of people. But the amount depends on where you live and your policy. So it could vary just depending on what you pay, what your policy is. I mean, but you know, that's, that's good. Don't you spend that $27.36. They said the average is about $100. How much? 100?
Starting point is 00:35:22 It's 100, boy. Per vehicle. So if you have, you know, four vehicles on your policy, you know, you. That's right. That's good. That's a little amount. That's good. And that might mean people are, they can't afford to fix their cars.
Starting point is 00:35:34 That's why you might say a lot of people's driving around with crack cars because they don't want to go to insurance. their insurance goes up so they'll leave their car head or dented or whatever may be. Exactly. That's been going on. It's beginning of time. And USAA, they did something similar. So USA, they served military members and their families.
Starting point is 00:35:49 They said that they gave out $4 billion last year to customers when they had a surplus. So, you know, it's something. Love some money news. Right. Of course. And so as we were talking earlier in the latest, so politics, it found its way to the NWACP Image Awards Saturday night. We talked a little bit about Dionne Cole. and some of the things that he said already
Starting point is 00:36:10 in regards to Nikki Minaj, but he also took some political jabs at Epstein and at ICE. So let's listen to what he had said. One of the biggest stories in the news right now is those are files, though, right? Those files are like everywhere. Everybody talking about them with everything.
Starting point is 00:36:27 But you know one thing I thought about those files? I knew it wasn't no black people in those files. No, I wasn't black. Because that ain't our thing. You know what I mean? That ain't our thing. We like grown women. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:36:36 Grown. Women were the four or one. K, you know. Women that can fold a fitted sheet, you know. Some of y'all still bawling it up, your rookies. Now, NWACCP, I want to do something. I a little different, I want to buy a curse word, all, I. I know he's worth a curse on that war shows, but I need this to put emphasis on what I'm
Starting point is 00:36:54 trying to say, all right? So charge me for this curse word. Here we go. I don't want to see no ice ever again. So what they bleeped out is he gave the big middle finger to ice, right? Said it in the audience. Fice or something like that? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:37:09 Exactly what he said. You know, and he got a standing ovation, which I don't know if you saw at home. No. But in the audience, he got a standing ovation. I mean, people were, you know, looking around, I think, in the beginning to make sure, like, did you, is this okay? But then everyone stood up and clapped for that. I want if they told him he couldn't say Epstein.
Starting point is 00:37:28 So he just kept saying the list. He did just say the list. He did say the list. He did say the list. But even after that ICE joke, he went on to joke a little bit more. He said, he looked at the guest list and he said, he said, you know, I saw if iced tea was on there We took it off ice cube ice spice
Starting point is 00:37:42 There was no ice you know allowed Even ice I didn't watch the Olympics because it had too much ice So you know that went over really really well The encore was very clever He was very very very clever And the perfect host for the NWCP Awards He did a great job He did a great great job
Starting point is 00:37:57 And then as we talk a little bit more about Events happening in L.A. This weekend in South L.A. What started as a petition It became a permanent city history So the intersection of Slosson and Crenshaw is now officially Nipsey Hustle Square. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. So honoring the late rapper, entrepreneur, community builder.
Starting point is 00:38:18 This is the same intersection where Nipsey once sold his mixtapes as a teenager, the block where he opened the Marathon Clothing Store. And now it carries his name. His brother, Black Sam, was there. He told the crowd that the real legacy isn't a street sign, but it's what remains investing in the local community with the youth education programs, ownership, discipline, opportunity. And this didn't happen by accident.
Starting point is 00:38:40 So Los Angeles City Council President Marquise Harris, sorry, Marquise Harris-Dawson, I want to get that right. He helped lead the charge to make this into a reality, turning thousands of petition signatures into official action. So I interviewed him about this and what this means for him and what his office was able to accomplish. Let's listen to what he had to say. For me, it was nice to get it done.
Starting point is 00:39:04 you know, as a politician, you're very nervous about. I said this thing and I never got it done. And so it was just nice to close the loop. But also, you have very few chances as an elected official to do something that you believe it will be historic that people will be talking about long after you're gone. So people who will never know my name will say, yes, I'm going over to Nipsey Hustle Square to go to the marathon store. I'm going there to go to the neighborhood Nip Foundation or to go get groceries. That means so much when you can make a mark on history that will last for generations to come. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:39:39 Nipsey's legacy is eternal at this point. I saw Lauren London say that Nipsey had told her one day they're going to name this. She said when they first started dating, they would drive past that very intersection and he would tell her one day they're going to name this whole section after me. And this weekend, it became a reality. Yes, that was a proud of that. Yeah, it was a very, very beautiful thing. to witness a big occasion on Slosson and Crenshaw now.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Nipsey Hustle Square. All right, y'all. Well, that is your front page news. I'm Mimi Brown. Follow me at Mimi Brown TV. For more stories, follow the Black Information Network, or visit BINNews.com. Thank you, Mimi.
Starting point is 00:40:17 All right. Now, when we come back, Corey Bush will be joining us. She's running to represent Missouri, St. Louis's first congressional district. And we're going to talk to her next. So don't go anywhere. It's the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:40:26 Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envi. Just hilarious. Shalamey and Guy. We are the breakfast. Club. Lauren the Rose is here as well. We got a special guest in the building. She's back.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Congresswoman from Missouri, ladies and gentlemen, Corey, with her eye. Good morning. Welcome. How are you feeling this morning? Oh, I'm amazing. Thank you. I'm feeling so good. I'm so glad to be here today with you all again. What made you want to get back into this fight, Corey? So first of all, I wasn't ready
Starting point is 00:40:51 to leave and I should not have lost my seat. I should still be there right now. They spent a lot of money to beat you. They spent $15 million. to beat me and for context it only cost about one million dollars this race costs anywhere from one to two million dollars to win and run I mean to run and win so for them to spend 15 million to give me out and only one and they only
Starting point is 00:41:15 won by five points they they couldn't even get me by double digits like it took that much and when I beat the person that my predecessor their family had been in that had held that seat for 52 years I beat them with one million dollars wow so that's just how hard it was for them to get me out And when you say them, he was APAC funded. He was totally APEC funded, but big crypto and big real estate, they came in to help, but it was mostly A PAC. Why, though? Like, why did they need to spend so much money to take you up?
Starting point is 00:41:47 So, first of all, when the insurrection happened, it was my third day in office. We didn't even have, like, water in the office yet. Like, I didn't have a panic button. But barricaded in my office, and I mean, barricaded. And I said, you know, like if these folks come down the hallway, if they come, if they come for me, because my name is on this door, if they come for me, like, we bang it till the end. Like, I meant I was going to fight these people if they came for, if they came for me and my team. But I sat there so pissed off that I introduced my first piece of legislation to investigate and expel any member of Congress that participated in the insurrection. So first of all, so that piqued off Trump, you know, it pips off the administration.
Starting point is 00:42:27 They were already upset with me before that because I'm the Ferguson protester, you know. So, but after that, I just kept doing things that was upset in the right. But it wasn't until I introduced the ceasefire now resolution when there was about to be this ground invasion in Gaza. How can I as a human being sit back and just say, how can I as a human being just sit back and say like, it's cool to bomb people? You know, when I have a decision to make, if it wasn't, if I didn't have a decision to make, that's different. But I had a decision to make whether I would vote to send money. there whether I would stay silent or not because if bombs was about to drop in this country, you know, in my city, I would want somebody else to speak up and say something. So, um,
Starting point is 00:43:12 so A-PAC got mad. They decided we want somebody that's more aligned with us and we're going to use somebody that looks like you to help trick people, you know, and so that's what they did. So they wanted me out. They wanted me out so bad. And not only that big real estate they wanted me out. So they worked together because I'm the one that camped out on the steps of the U.S. Capitol back in 2021 when the eviction moratorium was about to expire. And I stayed
Starting point is 00:43:36 out there. Activist, Corey, was out there on the ground for nights and five days. But we pushed the Biden administration. The CDC and all of those folks to extend that moratorium. So people were just mad, you know. I was going to ex-o this time around, you know, running, what are you doing differently, knowing that, like, you know, they don't want you there and they're going to use
Starting point is 00:43:54 everything they can. You know, you're under attack. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So first of all, they made me stronger. So I'm a different person than I was then. I mean, I'm better than I was then. So I see things, I see things better. I'm doing things faster. We have a team that is bigger right now than we had when we ended the campaign last time.
Starting point is 00:44:15 Like we started off with the heavy team. We are making sure that our message is getting out there. One thing that's really different too is I had to be in D.C. and trying to run a race and work in Congress at the same time. Now, uh-uh, I'm on the ground. I'm with the people. I'm where people know, you know,
Starting point is 00:44:32 Corey usually is. I'm out in the street. So that changes a lot because people said, well, Corey, I really couldn't hear your message. Like, I didn't know. Like, it didn't seem like you were fighting. And it's because I had to be away. Now I'm not away.
Starting point is 00:44:45 And I'm with the community. The community is saying, so many people have come up to me and said, Corey, we made a mistake. Like, we were listening to those. ads. We, you know, we just didn't know what to think. And so, and the tide has turned. And so now people are like, oh, I understand why you were talking so much about, you know, keeping our money here and not, and our money not going to bomb people in another country. We just thought that
Starting point is 00:45:08 you were saying you cared more about another country. Now we understand you were saying that you care that that money stays here in St. Louis. So besides the money and what, what is the other reason? Because I'm sure you analyzed it why you felt that you lost. Was it the as that they put out? be just something besides the money where people not coming out like what do you think the reason was because it wasn't by that much yeah well so some people said that they thought I had it in the bag because I had won my other
Starting point is 00:45:33 race the race previously by 40 points you know 40% and so people were like you like there's no way you can then turn around and you got to go out you got it around yeah so many people said that and then the other part which is something we're changing now people said Corey we thought that you were running in November
Starting point is 00:45:49 so we were waiting for the November election and your election was really in August. And so we missed a lot of people that way. So we've been hammering it now. It was a special election, right? No, no, that's the primary, the Democratic primary. And so for me, we're in a Democratic district. So the general election is a lot easier to win. How did they get that mixed up, though, August from November? Because all of the talk about the presidential election, so people's focus was, I just need to show up in November. The elections are November. So people just automatically think of November's elections, November's elections.
Starting point is 00:46:23 Did it hurt the loose? It tore me up. Like, it was really, it was devastating. And not because I lost an election. I had lost elections before. And it's tough either way, let me just say. But this one, like, broke me down because I didn't lose because I wasn't doing my job. I didn't lose because I was a bad congresswoman or a bad candidate.
Starting point is 00:46:47 I lost because $15 million of dark money, of corporate interest money made the decision of who was going to represent St. Louis. And the person ran on lies. So $15 million worth of ads saying Corey wants children to drink contaminated water from lead pipes. You know, Corey hates Joe Biden. Those were most of the ads. None of the ads spoke about Israel.
Starting point is 00:47:11 None of the ads spoke about Gaza or anything else. They stayed. It was mostly about Joe Biden. And so my thing is this, if you're running on truth, like, if you believe you better than me and you're going to do more for the community, say that. Say what you're going to do. Like, I respect that. But don't lie.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Because if you lie, then you're deceiving the very people that you claim you want to represent. And it's about you, not the people. And a gentleman you lost to is a brother. Do you have any relationship with him at all? Do you all know, coming up or anything like that? Oh, yeah. You know, we were friends. We were friends.
Starting point is 00:47:42 And so much so to where my dad even went to one of his events when he was. So first he came out saying he was running against Josh Hawley. We all know Josh Hawley, Republican out of Missouri, who became, you know, I think he got some more notoriety at the insurrection when he put up the fists outside the Capitol. So he said he was running against him. He called him the greatest threat to America and to democracy. He actually wasn't really running against him. He used that to raise money.
Starting point is 00:48:11 But to run against me. So my dad was so excited. Like, okay, somebody's going to take out Josh Hawley. And my dad got all of his friends to come to one of his fundraisers. And my dad gave him a check. Two weeks later, he announced he was running against him. me. And he was your dad's money to run against you. You know, and so I, but before that, we had worked together on, on different issues.
Starting point is 00:48:31 You know, we had been at events together. We were cool. Like, we would talk on the phone, you know, working on stuff. Even though he's Republican. It didn't matter. Well, you know, he played like he wasn't a Republican, but he really, you know, I think in his heart he really is. But yeah, we were, like, we were cool. But you didn't see this coming at all. No, like, I wouldn't have never thought that. And so, but what I did, though, because people kept calling me saying, Corey, he's running against you. Like, it's a lie that he's running against Josh Hawley. And so I called him one day. I called him
Starting point is 00:48:58 and I said, hey, I'm getting a... Yeah. But I was like, okay, let me just tell you what people are saying because a whole article came out in our biggest newspaper in town saying that he was, it was really a lie. So I called him, I'm like, hey, why am I
Starting point is 00:49:16 hearing all of these things about you running against me and you said you run against Josh Holly? Oh, sis, no. I'm not, I'm not. I'm not. I would never run against you. You won your race the way I did. I would never run against you. And so I, because he started doing it, uh, uh, uh, then I hit record. And I recorded it.
Starting point is 00:49:33 And so, um, so it turns out, you know, he was, he lied. And, you know, so I lost all respect for dude. Because the thing is, if we're friends, you can run against, this is a democracy. You can run against somebody. Like, that's not my issue. But at least, like, be upfront. Say that. Hey, this is what I want.
Starting point is 00:49:51 But when A.P. comes to you. Hill Harper sat with you all and, what, a year, two years ago and talked about how APEC came to him and asked him to run against, to run, I think against Rashida Tili, for $20 million and he turned it down. Well,
Starting point is 00:50:06 the guy that's in the seat now in my community, he didn't turn the money down. Wow. And he's a Democrat. I just want to say, I said Republican before. He was the campaign manager to a Republican that was trying to restrict abortion rights in Missouri. So it's crazy. I was going to say, just listening to it, literally it's like the shows that we watch on TV,
Starting point is 00:50:24 like what goes down by the season. And I know that that, because you guys' race was one of the most expensive primaries in American history. Literally, yes, yes. Just because they were trying to get you up out of there. Only because they wanted me out, you know. And they knew that I had already been,
Starting point is 00:50:37 been like doing a lot to try to uncover what was going to happen with Project 2025 had Trump got in. And people were like, oh, no, it's not real. You know, Project 2025 won't happen. And so they were just trying to stop there. So, yeah, they spent all of that money. You know, and the thing is this, why would they spend, why would they need to spend all of that money in a Democratic district?
Starting point is 00:51:00 One that's going to go to a Democrat anyway. And A-PAC is primarily funded by Republicans. But why would they get involved in a race like that? And you got two black folks running. Why get involved? You know, why did they get involved in my race and Jamal Bowman's race and make us the most expensive U.S. House races in history, primaries in history? Why are you coming for two black people? They said they spent over $8.5 million from Apex spent more than that.
Starting point is 00:51:26 I know you said it made you stronger, right? Strong enough to run this time. But did you ever feel discouraged to the point where you like, no, I'm not doing this? Yeah, up until I made the day. It took me months. You know, I was broken. So I lost the race August, I think it was August 6th of 2024. And I still had to be in Congress for another several months until January.
Starting point is 00:51:49 So I had to, you know, move out of the office. They put you in this little cubicle. Like, you don't even have an office anymore. They're trying to transition you out. And so I had to still show up as a congressperson, still do all of my work and know that I was leaving. And I was trying to figure out like, what do I do in my life?
Starting point is 00:52:06 Because I didn't, like, I had been working for this for 10 years, you know? So like, what, like, what am I going to do now? So that was just really, I just didn't know what to do. But it was after I left, my sister in service, Rashida, Tili. She came to me like that February and she said, Corey, you're going to run again. I was like, no. You know, I'm talking to my husband. We're like, you know, we're trying to get ourselves like grounded.
Starting point is 00:52:30 And then the people of St. Louis were coming up to me on the street. Like everywhere, I would be walking down the street and people would stop and jump out of cars. You got to run again. Like, you know, and so that's what helped to build me back up is seeing the community like, we messed up. We didn't do right by you last time. We want to be. We are here for you. now and so that really helped
Starting point is 00:52:52 but I to climb out of that you know it you know it's hard because my heart wasn't for me my heart wasn't for me my heart was for the community everything I did I have been I have been shot at beat up
Starting point is 00:53:09 like so many things have happened to me and my family to be able to do this work we needed security because we needed security you know like like I put my life on the line for the people of my community in this country and then to get kicked in the back like that it was it was hard what did the pastor do like the pastor you like you know the pastor and you what did that kick in like you absolutely
Starting point is 00:53:33 no no that's what did it i so first i had to check with my family and my husband um uh more directly because how things impacted us you know um and how like the the the doj was being weaponized against us you know we want to make it seem like you're a criminal and you did this and all of that kind of stuff. So I had to make sure that home was good first. But it was my faith that kept me from feeling like I needed to go hide in a corner somewhere. You know, it was like, Corby, you know who you are and whose you are. You know you got God and you know you have a purpose. The only reason I ran for that seat in the first place was my mission. I knew that it was my mission. Even right now, even right now, it's like, you know, like you ask, Charlemagne, like, you know,
Starting point is 00:54:18 you're putting yourself out there doing this again. Some people have. asked me my Ayanna Presley had asked me she's like Corey why would you want to do this to yourself again you know and for me and what I said to her was because it's not about me it's about the mission is what I know that the Lord is sending me to do you know and so whether however it goes I got a I got to say yes like I got to say yes because on the other side of this yes people are helped whatever it looks like yeah I'm glad you're saying this and I'm glad just asked those questions because I've seen so many people just become bitter
Starting point is 00:54:49 and all they do now is complain on Instagram and I'm like yo why don't you get back into the fight yeah you know what I mean like to get back
Starting point is 00:54:56 to the fight okay you lost a couple of races get back into the fight yeah but it got to be depressing it got to be difficult it got to be hard
Starting point is 00:55:03 but you don't got to stay there though you gotta feel like you would you know people switch sides on you it gotta hurt you know
Starting point is 00:55:08 because especially when all you want to do is do something positive for your community and you see all these ads you gotta get to a point when you were like F this
Starting point is 00:55:15 I read my piece but you know you decided to say I'm going to get back in there fight. Like you said, people was coming up to you on the streets, though. Like the people, that's what the connection is, right? Yes. Whether it's politics, pastoring, like, it's people, as long as you connect to them.
Starting point is 00:55:30 Yeah, and it's service. All of it is service. And, you know, there are days when I'm like, this still hurts because when you know that you've helped people, like there are people in the community that I helped organizations that I helped financially, where I put my name on the line, where I put, I was a freshman, trying to help put I was pushing leadership saying no my community needs this no I need you know even President Biden would say here okay Corey here she comes she's going to talk about St. Louis again like people knew like I was putting my name on the line making sure that these folks that said we need
Starting point is 00:56:04 X amount of dollars that they were able to get those dollars and to see them turn on me when this other person decided to run against me it was so easy like they didn't even reach out to say this you know we got to make a different decision this time. because of X, it was just like stab you in the back. You know, so that's what, it was, it was really hard. And even some days now, and I've had to get myself together to forgive. You know, I had to, like, I had to really sit with forgiveness and understand, like, forgiveness is not for them.
Starting point is 00:56:34 Forgiveness is for me. Forgiveness is so that I can go out and do the work with the clean heart. Because the thing is this, the night that I won my election in 2020, when I won the last election that November, the general, I see. said, in my speech, I don't care if you voted for me, I don't care if you like me, I don't care if you villainize my name, my question
Starting point is 00:56:56 for you is, do you have food, did you eat, do you have shelter, do you have water, do you have, so today that is still the same? How are you going to defeat the machine? Yeah. Because I mean, the machine is still here, you know what I'm saying? You're still, your stance
Starting point is 00:57:11 is not changed, right? So how are you going to defeat the machine? Because they back still, they're spending money now. Yeah, they're spending money. Yeah. What we're seeing right now is they're spending like somewhere around $2 million in a lot of these races. But back in 2024, people didn't really know, like on a math level anyway, on a mass scale, who APAC was at the time. You know, and we weren't able to spend the money to get the, to make the connection to just like message that.
Starting point is 00:57:41 We had to talk about other things as well. Now the tide has turned and people know who APAC is. people are pissed off now that they know who APAC is. There was a town hall in my community that the current congressman held. It was in person. His town hall back in August, most of the questions were around APAC money. And it was around his support for a genocide. And when I say he was hammered over and over again at people asking about that,

I'm Clayton Eckerd, and in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first Bachelor to ever have his final rows rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show made even bigger headlines. It began as a one-night stand and ended in a courtroom with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral.
Starting point is 01:00:18 The dating contract. Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. Please search for it. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. This season, an epic battle of He Said She Said, and the search for accountability in a sea of lies. Listen to Love Trapped on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Welcome to the A building. I'm Hans Charles. I'm Inalick Lamouba. It's 1969. Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. had both been assassinated. And Black America was out of breaking point. Writing and protests broke out on an unprecedented scale.
Starting point is 01:01:07 In Atlanta, Georgia, at Martin's Almermata, Morehouse College, the students had their own protest. It featured two prominent figures in black history, Martin Luther King Sr., and a young student, Samuel L. Jackson. to be in what we really thought was a revolution. I mean, people would die. In 1968, the murder of Dr. King, which traumatized everyone. The FBI had a role in the murder of a Black Panther leader in Chicago.
Starting point is 01:01:37 This story is about protest. It echoes in today's world far more than it should, and it will blow your mind. Listen to the A building on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your Podcasts. What do you do in the headlines don't explain what's happening inside of you? I'm Ben Higgins. And if you can hear me, is where culture meets the soul, a place for real conversation. Each episode, I sit down with people from all walks of life, celebrities, thinkers,
Starting point is 01:02:11 and everyday folks. And we go deeper than the polished story. We talk about what drives us, what shapes us, and what gives us hope. We get honest about the big stuff, identity, when you don't recognize. yourself anymore, loss that changes you, purpose when success isn't enough, peace when your mind won't slow down, fake when it's complicated.
Starting point is 01:02:33 Some guests have answers. Most are still figuring it out. If you've ever felt like there has to be more to the story, this show is for you. Listen to if you can hear me on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. They were like, we just didn't know that this is who you would be. But also at the end of that, and I don't know if you all saw it, it went viral,
Starting point is 01:03:01 but at the end of that town hall, some of his constituents were brutalized by his security and local law enforcement, just waiting to get a chance to talk to him to ask him more questions. And so the community is already upset. Also, we had a devastating tornado that came through the inner city in St. Louis and devastated homes. And people, that was in May of last year, people are still living in tents. people who are homeowners still don't have a place to live right now and the community has been fighting for more dollars
Starting point is 01:03:31 he has not shown up he has not shown up and so people so that's what's different you know is that people are saying we know that we don't have the right person so yeah APAC can try to put all of this money into our community but the people are saying we're watching now we want to see if they're giving
Starting point is 01:03:47 how much money they're given because we don't want our candidates to take that money so that's what's different too is and we're seeing it all across the country, different members of Congress are saying, I'm not, this time, I'm not going to take the money because they're getting pressure from their communities. But people who are listening who don't know what APEC is, like, explain to people, you know, what APEC is because I'm hearing a lot of folks now say they're not voting for any candidate who takes money from APEC. Yeah, APAC is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. It is an organization, but they also have affiliated PACs, with political action committees where they can get funnel money to, to candidates. to run for office but their their whole mission to paraphrase is basically to make sure that
Starting point is 01:04:34 there is 100% support for Israel and the agenda to be this big ally to the United States but basically supporting Israel so if you you know if you won't vote exactly the way they want you to vote on every single bill that prioritizes Israel, even if it deprioritizes the United States, you're in trouble with them. And for me, when my community is, you know, in need of health, people in my community don't have health care. When people in my community are sleeping on the street, when people in my community are still trying to figure out how to end gun violence and, you know, and we have all of these issues, you know, we don't have clean water all the time. You know, we have issues with water.
Starting point is 01:05:23 We have issues. We have frigging people dying right now in our community from a radioactive waste dumped in our community from the federal government that's been happening for decades. And people are literally dying. And you're telling us to give money to prioritize another country, you know. And so that, so people, I need people to understand that we, this is not something that is against a people. We're not against another country. what we're saying is the United States deserve
Starting point is 01:05:53 we deserve to take care of our people but can we help Congo yes can we help you know the Sudan can we help Gaza can we help Syria can we help Yemen can we help who all can we help these other countries can we help Haiti and Q can we help we should be helping
Starting point is 01:06:10 who we can help can we help Honduras we should be helping who we can help but we take care of our people I mean I mean that's why America first messaging works right and you know I say it all the time, nobody would care where America sent money if people in America were taken care of. Yeah. If people's basic needs in America would take care of and they had money in their pocket,
Starting point is 01:06:31 they could care less when you send money. Right. But they want to defund the social safety net. When you want to, when this country says, you know what, we're going to knock people off a snap. Snap is food. Like, you need food to live, to survive. Nobody's becoming a millionaire or getting rich off of Snap.
Starting point is 01:06:49 You know? people just need to eat. So when you say we would rather prioritize, you know, giving tax breaks to the rich and the wealthy and we're going to help do that by defunding SNAP. When I saw Trump say it the state of the union other day when he was like bragging about cutting food stamps, like that's a good thing.
Starting point is 01:07:05 I'm like, oh, he has no idea who even his basis. Who's his basis? Because they're on food stamps. They're on fools stamps. I was going to ask, you know, when you have your district, right, what do you tell them because they have to be discouraged from all the politics? And even young leaders out there that want to get into it.
Starting point is 01:07:19 So what do you tell? those young leaders and people from your district how to not get discouraged? Like what is your message to them? Yeah. So the thing is right now and I know that there has there had been a lot of discourse for a while like we're going to sit this out. Like
Starting point is 01:07:33 you know, let somebody else do it and I understand that sentiment and people feeling really discouraged. But I look at it like this for all the things that we've gone through over the last 10 years, 15 years but especially the last 10 to me it was in preparation for this moment.
Starting point is 01:07:50 It was us getting in place. It was us learning so that we could be ready for right now. Are we tired? Are we discouraged? Are we tired of our politicians, you know, being hypocrites? Are we tired of all of this? Yes, we are. But then this is the moment that we step up because if we do not,
Starting point is 01:08:07 what are we leaving to our children and our children's children? What world are we leaving to them? And so I understand feeling discouraged. And to our youth, too, what I tell them is, look, there are parts of Missouri where there are children there are students who go to school four days a week
Starting point is 01:08:22 there are students who go to school five days a week I said that was a decision that a person made a person said this is what I want they went to talk to their friends and they made a law
Starting point is 01:08:31 and changed how kids go to school in Missouri I said that is how these laws happen it's somebody's idea it doesn't come from you know
Starting point is 01:08:38 up in the sky so somebody's going to get in the seat somebody is going to be your voice somebody's going to be the person to write these laws to legislate for you, to speak for you.
Starting point is 01:08:49 Don't let them do it without you, you know, and start showing up, so I let them know, like, get in on the ground floor because this is your world to create. And it's right now. How do they donate to your campaign, Corey? Look, Coreybush.org. It's c-O-R-I-B-U-S-H.org.
Starting point is 01:09:10 Yes, please, you know, small dollar donations. You know, we don't, you know, if you got $5, $20, whatever, you have all the way up to $3,500, feel, please reach out to us. We can use volunteers. You know, you don't have to be in St. Louis to volunteer for us because you can get on the phones.
Starting point is 01:09:27 You know, there are so many things that a campaign needs. We are a grassroots campaign. We have never taken a dollar of corporate pack money. So we are totally 100% people powered. And this is for the people. So if you can donate, please, please go to Coreybush.org. That's right. Congresswoman, Corey Bush, thank you for joining us this morning.
Starting point is 01:09:44 Thank you for having me. And love you all. Thank you. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Let's get to the latest with Lauren. Hey, Hey,
Starting point is 01:09:49 you're talking LL. Cool, babe. Yeah. I'm not dumbing myself. Damn, I'm being myself. Take me through that. That source is close. I'm the home guy that knows a little bit about everything and everything.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Morning. Little brown girls look at you and go, I want to be like you. Take me through that. Take me through that. Where she's going? The latest with Lauren knows. Take me through that.
Starting point is 01:10:10 On the breakfast club. L.L. Cool bag. Talk to me. So real quick, I wanted to, Charlamany, last hour you would mention the Oscars and Cinners and what that would look like.
Starting point is 01:10:21 I did want to make sure that we said because we didn't get to say it last hour that Michael B. Jordan winning the award that he won last night when he took home the best male performance in a leading role at the SAG or Actors Awards. A lot of people didn't predict
Starting point is 01:10:35 that he would win that. So it was like an upset. Timothy Salomei, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawk, and Jesse Plymouth were also in the category. So that shakeup is supposed to be a big part of the reason reason why the Oscars
Starting point is 01:10:47 or sinners may be set for the Oscars and Michael B. Jordan himself who's nominated for Best Actor and Leading Role, which is his first Oscar nomination. Now people are thinking that he might take the Oscar home, so I did want to mention that. I hope he gets it. Me too. I love to see it. In a category with a lot of other good nominees
Starting point is 01:11:03 too, so that's what I said. Yeah, he said too he was surprised. But yes. Now last week, we talked about power from Wu Ting and him passing away. His family posted a joint statement where they just sent out some words from the family
Starting point is 01:11:19 but they revealed his cause of death they revealed that he passed away from pancreatic cancer. They say he was a true fighter until the end and he was surrounded by his mother, his children, his family, and his closest friends and then they go into some of the background with him and Wu Ting and him being one of the founders and
Starting point is 01:11:35 you know the business minds behind the brand but yeah and they talk about some of the wake and the funeral plans that will happen later this month but a little update there Rest and peace, power. Rest in peace. Yes.
Starting point is 01:11:48 And yesterday, over the weekend, and then yesterday, Dawn Staley, the coach of South Carolina's Women's Basketball Team. You already know? Yeah. I saw you was at the games. That was last weekend, right, this weekend? Yeah, what game was that? The Missouri, they played Missouri, I think?
Starting point is 01:12:00 Yeah, last Thursday. Thursday. Well, Dawn Staley had posted on X. Her first suite was on the 28th, so that was Saturday. She posted, please asking for prayers for some of their former players because they are stuck in a war zone in Israel. She says we are working on a plan to get them home. Let us pray for our loved ones to return home safe in ASAP.
Starting point is 01:12:20 Thank you in advance. Now, the players that she's referring to Tiffany Mitchell, Destiny Littleton, and Micah Herbert Herrigan, their play basketball in Israel. And when everything happened over the weekend with the attacks on Iran, they were kind of put in a really tough position. One of the players, her name is Destiny, she's actually been actively tweeting just to let people know she's okay, talking about everything that's happening. what she's seeing.
Starting point is 01:12:45 When injuries come up, she's like, look, we're good, we're alive and we're safe for now. So they've been keeping people updated via X. So sending some prayers to them. And I can't imagine you're not even, you don't even really know what to do. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:12:56 Yeah. That's crazy. And the thing is, a lot of players are playing over there. I see a men's team as well. Yes. Stuck as well. So just, you know,
Starting point is 01:13:05 praying for everybody to get back safe. And it's almost like in those countries, they treated like, I guess, how we look at hurricanes because I see them say they're going to shelters. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, and I thought, so Destiny was tweeting, she was saying that, like, it's 10 p.m.
Starting point is 01:13:18 And we have been siren free and boom free of the sound for the last couple hours. I'm praying it continues this way. Then she talked about them getting into like a safe space or a place for 20 minutes, which was the longest that they've been in like whatever the space was. And I'm like having to figure all that out. But people were responding to some of the tweets, even that Don Staley put up. And I saw Dawn Staley respond to it asking, well, why would they be over there anyway? And I'm like, right now, that's what y'all are, like, that's the response.
Starting point is 01:13:41 Well, first of all, I see that. I did see that. What they want to know. No, they're working. They have to. They're making the money. For whatever reason, they didn't make the WMBA,
Starting point is 01:13:49 so they're playing professional overseas. No, Tiffany's in the WMBA. Oh, she's in W&A? Oh, so they play both. But for people who don't watch sports that you don't know, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:13:57 They're just like, why are, why are so people who just want to know. They're playing professional basketball over there. A lot of players play over there, and they make a lot of money, and they do well. So that's the reason why they work in. That's why it's why stuff like the unrivaled league.
Starting point is 01:14:09 That's why this new deal that the WMBA is doing where they'll be getting paid more money. That's why sponsorships, that's why all that stuff is important. So, you know, they don't have to play twice. Take those risks in those other countries. I can't imagine.
Starting point is 01:14:19 Definitely risky. Well, in another update, we talked about this last week as well, Teddy Riley and Keith Sweat. There was a conversation that happened on the We Are in Miami podcast where Teddy Riley talks about not making any money except for like $1,500 off of everything he's done. Music-wise with Keith Sweat.
Starting point is 01:14:36 Now, Teddy Riley posted an apology. I was actually communicating with them. We were going to do it like, where he gave it to us, but he posted it to Instagram, but then he took it down. But we have it. Let's listen to Teddy Riley apologizing to Keith Sweat. I want to apologize to my brother Keith Sweat. If anything that I said was taking the wrong way or caused confusion or hurt to his family or anyone, I apologize.
Starting point is 01:14:59 Keith and I, we built a culture. We built a sound. We built New Jack Swing. We are the pioneers of that. The bond that we have is bigger than anything in any headlines or misunderstanding. My comments was solely about the record label, Ventertainment, Vincent Davis, along with one of others who house the Ventertainment label and the Keith Sweat make it last forever album. It's the record label. It's not Keith Sweat.
Starting point is 01:15:27 Why does he post it? I have no idea. Yeah. He posted hyper speed. I have no idea. I think because it was so long, like we didn't play the full. Because it was so long, I think maybe he was trying to speed it up so you could listen to all of it. Definitely posting in hyper speed. It was, yeah. And then it was taken down. I don't know if they took it down
Starting point is 01:15:42 because of the way it sounded or what, but the apology is no longer on it. He sounded like he's about to take over the world with Pinky. Like, what's up with him? Definitely sound like a chipmo. I don't know why he posted it like that, but whatever the speed was,
Starting point is 01:15:51 it was like plus five. Yeah, I should have preface that. That wasn't us. It was the way that he was supposed to. Producers got to stop thinking about everything with a producer here. Right, right. Just post the goddamn video, Teddy.
Starting point is 01:16:00 You know what I'm saying? Let me post this and speed it up just a little bit. Put a little pitch on it. Like, no, just goddamn. Say what you got to say and keep it moving, Teddy. Because I thought it was my Instagram at first. When I first said it because I was talking like, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, what the hell is going on?
Starting point is 01:16:12 But he posted it like that. Yeah. What about Keith Sweat? Did he say anything? No, Keith Sweat hasn't said anything publicly, but I did talk to him prior to all of this. And, you know, he just wanted everything to be cleared up. That was Keith Sweat's biggest thing. Like, this needs to be cleared up even if he had to do it itself, but he didn't want to.
Starting point is 01:16:27 So I think, you know, that was Teddy Riley trying to do it. But again, it's not there anymore. And I'm not really for sure why. But yes. Can I tell people something too, man? I want you all to go to vote.orghaw.com and vote for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions for 2006, okay?
Starting point is 01:16:43 Because, you know, they have some great... Some of our legends are, you know, up for being inducted this year. New Edition, Wooten Klan, Luther Vandross, Lauren Hill, Shadee, Mariah Carey. I'm missing somebody right now. Damn, that's crazy. Mariah Carey is not. Did you say Lauren Hill already?
Starting point is 01:17:04 Yeah, I said Lauren Hill. Phil Collins. There's a lot of people nominated but you can go to vote. Dot rock hall. Dot com right now and vote because you know they got fan votes and then they got a board
Starting point is 01:17:16 and then they got a whole other committee and yes. I don't know who you might have missed from this is but I saw you post yesterday that the new edition or somebody numbers were climbing on the votes which I thought was fire. I think they were number two
Starting point is 01:17:29 when I looked early. When we first talked about this I know you said it wasn't as much as it should have been so it's been climbing. Yeah, I need. to see new addition to Wu-Tang Clan get in this year. You know what I'm saying? Like really, for real, for real. So go to vote.orghal.
Starting point is 01:17:41 All right. Speaking of, happy birthday method man. Yes. Hey, happy birthday method. You know what I'm saying? Wasn't I good? Yeah. I was going to get some Meph in the mix this morning.
Starting point is 01:17:51 So salute to Metham. Yes. And then the next latest, we'll be talking to you guys about Shalabuff and gay men. I love Shalabh. I laugh. I laugh so much at that video. I enjoy it, darling. I laugh.
Starting point is 01:18:04 I watched that video way to me. We'll talk about it next hour. That's hysterical. Now, Solomon, who you giving your donkey to, man? Well, after the hour. We need the president of the United States of America. Donald J. Trump to come to the front of the congregation. We'd like to have a war with him. Wow. All right. We'll get to that next. And then we'll open up the phone lines too. 800-585105.1. A lot going on over the week.
Starting point is 01:18:21 And we'll love to hear from you guys. All right. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States. Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners when somebody disrespects our flag? to say get that son of a bitch off the field right now out he's fired he's fired he's fired please step up to the congregation yes you are adult when mexico sends his people they're not sending their best they're bringing drugs they're bringing drugs they're bringing crime they're rapids he's a jackass yeah it's dark here today for monday
Starting point is 01:18:59 march second goes to the 45th and 47th president of the united states of america donald j trump America at this point, we are used to the lies and blatant hypocrisy, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't call it out for what it is. Okay, lies. All right. This isn't a party thing, guys. If you're still looking at this through the lens of Democrats and Republicans, you're missing the whole point, okay? And it's actually incredible to be that people who voted for and supported Donald Trump can't simply say when he's wrong. Okay, it's okay to say you got conned by a person who will go down in history as the greatest con man of all time.
Starting point is 01:19:32 He finessed you into voting for him three times. And won two of those times. And every single thing he told you he wasn't going to do, he's done. Okay, listen to me for everyone who voted for Donald J. Trump, I was always taught being deceived as human, staying deceived as ego. So please don't let your ego get in the way of acknowledging the mess that Donald J. Trump has gotten us into now. What mess are you talking about? Uncle Shala? Well, he declared war on Iran seeking regime change.
Starting point is 01:19:59 Let's go to what's this? Fox News for the report, please. We saw the military buildup go on for months. And today, in broad daylight, the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran. Thick plumes of smoke drifting across Tehran on Saturday morning, as President Trump announced the start of strikes against the Iranian regime. The United States military has undertaken a massive and ongoing operation to prevent this very wicked, radical dictatorship
Starting point is 01:20:25 from threatening America and our core national security interests. The attacks coming after multiple rounds of talks in Geneva between the U.S., Iran and Oman, failed to convince Iran to abandon its nuclear program. This is the same man who self-declared himself the peace president. Okay, this is the man who launched the Board of Peace. This is the man who 10 years ago promised to focus on America first. He said when he first ran for president in 2016, that regime change is a proven absolute failure. He promised to stop racing the topple foreign regimes.
Starting point is 01:21:00 Okay, in 2024 when he ran for president, he said he would start. no new wars. And he said that if a big sister general Kamala Harris won, she would get us in the World War III guarantee and send the sons and daughters of Americans to go fight for a war in a country that you've never heard of. I'm not making any of this up. Let's listen. We're going to stop the reckless and costly policy of regime change. One is strong and powerful military and ideally we don't have to use it. You know, we had no wars, four years, we had no wars. They said, he will start a war.
Starting point is 01:21:35 I'm not going to start a war. I'm going to stop wars. You're not going to have a war with me, and you're not going to have a third world war with me. That I can tell you. I will also restore peace through strength, and I will prevent World War III from happening. We will stop it. When crooked Hillary Clinton was running against me,
Starting point is 01:21:53 she said, look at him, listen to him. Listen to his horrible tone. I said, that horrible tone is going to keep people from fighting us, and that's what happened. No, none of that is age well. Not to mention, they told us last summer that Iran's nuclear facilities have been obliterated and suggestions otherwise of fake news.
Starting point is 01:22:11 That was posted on the White House website on June 25, 2025. But just last week, on February 22nd, they told us Iran is a week away from bomb-grade material. I'm not making none of this up. He's a rot-a-ta-ta-ta-ta-tepe. To Iran wants to meet. As you know, their sites were obliterated.
Starting point is 01:22:28 They're very evil nuclear sites. They were now has been proven. and we had some fake news for a little while. He also said that Obama would start a war with Iran to boost his re-election prospects. Let's listen to this one. Our president will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely no ability to negotiate.
Starting point is 01:22:47 He's weak and he's ineffective. So the only way he figures that he's going to get reelected and as sure as you're sitting there is to start a war with Iran. Well, speaking of starting a war to boost their re-election prospects, What about starting a war to stop an election? We have Trump talking about that too. To holding an election in your country?
Starting point is 01:23:09 Yes, of course. We are open for election, yes. We have to do safety in circumstances. And a little bit we need to work in the parliament because during the war you can't have elections, but we can do security. We need maybe how to say we need a truth. Yes, everywhere in the battlefield,
Starting point is 01:23:29 in the sky and the sea, Yeah, to make possible for people to democratic, open, legal, legal elections. So let me just say three and a half years from now. So you mean if we happen to be in a war with somebody? No more elections. Oh, it's good. I think sadly that clip is going to age very well. I missed the days when all my president lied about was having sexual relations with a woman.
Starting point is 01:23:55 Okay, it's only been about a year, and Trump is sending your sons and daughters the war to topple foreign regimes. Look, man. I don't care if it's Iran, Iraq, eyes tired. Okay, eyes tired of seeing tens of billions, hundreds of billions of dollars spent on war when people are struggling to make ends meet right here in America. Okay. And the words of the late great Tupac Shakur, they got money for war but can't feed the poor. Not to mention, we have to watch all these kids in other countries being killed. Okay, a bombing of an Iran primary school killed 115 girls.
Starting point is 01:24:25 I don't care where life is lost. Okay, I don't like it because when I hear stories about a school being bombed and kids. kids losing their life. All I think about is my kids. Can you imagine being a parent and getting that kind of news? I don't live in the same country as a, I don't have to live in a, live in the same country as a person to have empathy for their situation. Not to mention Trump is putting our troops in danger. Imagine being a military officer who voted for Trump because you were tired of going overseas to fight wars. You bought into him saying he's the anti-war president. And, you know, listen, I'll even shoot you some bail in Trump's first term. He didn't start any new large-scale ground
Starting point is 01:24:58 wars. This is true. He also made a deal with the Taliban in 2020 to withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan. So I can see why you would believe him when he said he was the anti-war president and he wouldn't start any new wars. But gotcha. Okay, imagine buying into that. And now, boom, you off to Iran, not to mention all the people who feel like we are only going into Iran because Trump is Bibi Net and Yahoo's bitch. Okay, this is all I've been hearing all weekend. That's all I've been hearing people say. Jeremy Sachs, who's, an American economist said this. This has never been about nuclear weapons.
Starting point is 01:25:34 This has been about Israel's regional hegemony in the Middle East. Israel wants to topple the Iranian regime, period. It has said so. This is not a mystery. This is not my claim. This is Israeli policy repeated year in, year out. The whole idea that Trump is negotiating to prevent Iran from getting, a nuclear weapon.
Starting point is 01:26:00 Duh? That was negotiated. Trump ripped it up. The Iranians have come back every year to say, we don't want a nuclear weapon. We want negotiations. The United States does not accept yes
Starting point is 01:26:14 for an answer because it works for the government of Israel. It may be because of what's in the Epstein files that haven't been released. It may be blackmail. It may be corruption. It may be many other things. But it is not. It is not.
Starting point is 01:26:28 about America's interests. Listen, if you are an American and you see us spending hundreds of billions of dollars on a war, and someone tells you that war is only happening because another country wants you to do it, oh, you are pissed off this morning. Okay, the next reporters who interviewed Donald Trump
Starting point is 01:26:44 need to ask him those two questions. President Trump, you said there will be no new wars. What changed? And are you doing this because you are beholden to BB Netanyahu in the Israeli government? I need those two questions asked, but it won't matter what the answer is because the response
Starting point is 01:26:58 will be a lie. Okay, Operation Epic Fury is destined to be Operation Epic Fail. Listen, man, everyone who voted for Trump, it's okay to say you got conned. He got you. I am not judging you. You know why? Because sadly, we are in this together. Okay, I know it sounds good to say, you know, that's your president. No, he's our president. He's the president of the United States of America. And what he does impacts us all. And it's going to take all of us. Okay, we're the people to clean up whatever mess he leaves. So I'm not judging you for your vote. Okay, elections have consequences, and the consequences are clearly speaking for themselves. But I will start judging those of you who can't admit you got it wrong,
Starting point is 01:27:37 because the moment you admit you were fooled is the moment you stop being one. Please give Donald J. Trump the biggest he all. Well, let's open up these phone lines, man. Let's have a discussion. How you guys feeling out there? 800-585-105-1. How are you feeling? And you're seeing a...

Starting point is 01:33:34 Salamey and the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. if you're just joining us, Shalerman gave Donkin the date of who, Shala? President Donald Trump, you know, because he's gotten us into a war with Iran seeking regime change after telling us that he was the president that wouldn't start any new wars. So we're just opening up the phone lines. Just getting your thoughts. How are you feeling out there this morning? 800-585105-1.
Starting point is 01:33:55 Hello, who's this? This is Kelly. Good morning, everybody. Good morning, Kelly. Where you calling from? The D. What up, do? What up those?
Starting point is 01:34:04 Talk to us. What's your thoughts, Mama? Okay. So I'm pissed that we are only 13% of the population and we're getting most of the smoke. I'm pissed that we're getting a passport felt like a right of passage and an accomplishment. And now we have to get it under the guise of we need it to vote. I'm pissed that I have a 15-year-old that I'm trying to get to adulthood and all of the craziness that this fool is putting out there makes me question whether she gonna get there
Starting point is 01:34:37 I'm pissed that I don't know whether when my grandson becomes of college age whether there's going to be a college available for him to go to I'm pissed that the dream that my daughter has of going to an HBCU is compromised
Starting point is 01:34:53 now I'm pissed man that need to be on deaf poetry jam that was crazy but you write you write in on all those I'm I'm so frustrated it and I'm trying as an adult, as a mother to give my three boys are older. They're grown.
Starting point is 01:35:14 They're living their life. But I have my last child. And I'm trying to keep her in a happy state of mind by involving her in all types of things that make her happy. But I'm over here on the side stressing as a 53-year-old adult. Like I've lived my whole life not having her. having to deal with this. And now because the majority of America
Starting point is 01:35:39 chose not to listen to us, I have to worry whether my 15-year-old will have that same type of freedom when she gets older. We're going to be right, man. We told y'all, we told y'all. We know God is in control. We're going to be right.
Starting point is 01:35:54 You know, not only that, Keeley, it's also, you know, you think about it, you take your daughter to a basketball game. You know, you take your daughter to a concert. You take it to a skimmy. I mean, it makes me. I mean, it makes me. No, no, shut up, shut up, I don't have you no more.
Starting point is 01:36:08 I'm nervous. God damn, that guy, okay, we get it. Kelly, I'm nervous with you, my God. And no, you just put it on her. You take your daughter to a game. You take your daughter to her. We all got to go places in me. I'm nervous too, Kelly.
Starting point is 01:36:22 I appreciate that, but the one thing that keeps me grounded and it comes from my brother, and he said at the end of the day, it is God's will, and we have to become comfortable. That's it. God is in control. Kelly, give us all air hugs right now. Give me an air hug.
Starting point is 01:36:37 I need an air hug right now. I can tell, envy. I'm nervous. I'm nervous. I'm nervous. I got to get on a plane and do some traveling. I'm nervous. Thank you, Kelly.
Starting point is 01:36:47 You're welcome. Can't live in fear. Faith and fear can't coexist. No, you're right. And then to be honest, I think I think it'll be like cyber. We'll get it like cyber too. Take your money right out of your account. I just think, damn.
Starting point is 01:37:01 But no, I mean. No, that's what he means. Jass. What you're talking about? The hell are you talking about? You're just using big words like Drew Skynum as NBC. It's cyber. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:37:14 I get what you say. It'll be cyber war. Yeah, like they take out. Yo, next call, Leo. Hello, who's this? Hey, hey, Tay. Good morning. Talk to us. How you feeling, Tay? Good morning.
Starting point is 01:37:25 Um, I'm surprised it's a shame that we got through all these. Like, I feel like everything that's doing, like the government is intense to see how much they can get away with. Like, we, the X-4-5, like, everything that they're releasing, and it's just crazy because we already have so much to go through. Like, as Americans, we got all of this on our place
Starting point is 01:37:49 that you have to worry about going to war. Like, it's crazy. Like, it's dangerous. Yes, it is. Thank you, T. All right. Well, let's go to the phone lines. Just asking what your thoughts are.
Starting point is 01:37:59 Hello, who's this? Yo, this field. Hey, brother, talk to us. How are you feeling, brother? I mean, I feel like it's a sad situation we here. If we put troops on the ground over there, the age group is going to, you know, feel it the worst. It's like 19 to 24. How old are you?
Starting point is 01:38:16 I'm 37. Oh, you just passed draft eligibility. I think it ends at 36. Does that not that old? No, I think younger than that. I served, and I came up on orders to go to Afghanistan at 19 years old. So this age group here, man, nine times out of ten, they really don't even know what a war is about. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:39 You're right. Yeah, 26. 18 to 25, they say, actually. There, you serve. Thank you for your service, though, brother. Appreciate it, bro. How did you feel when they drafted you and, well, not drafted you, but when you had to go in, when you were 19? It was time to make an exit.
Starting point is 01:38:55 It kind of what? An exit. I got out. You weren't afraid. You weren't scared. Oh, got you, got you. Yeah, I ain't want to go over there They're killing each other over there
Starting point is 01:39:04 Imagine what they'll do to us Yeah Thank you, brother We're just naturally funny Because he's right Everything he said is absolutely right Okay You know what
Starting point is 01:39:17 What I didn't think about it And Mimi's here So maybe Mimi can correct me if I don't know But I thought ROTC was The program that students used sometimes To help them pay for college But they would also have to train A lot of times those ROTS students
Starting point is 01:39:31 don't ever think that we go into war. So those students turn up Mimi's Mike. Those students might possibly have to go to war. Is that correct? So the ROTC program, they have them in high schools. College, of course. They have them in college. They usually, like you said,
Starting point is 01:39:44 I mean, they train you so they are ready for war. And then you can go to schools like West Point, right from schools like that, where, you know, you have the option of definitely being drafted. So to your point, yes. But wouldn't they have to join the military for us, though? You don't go from no ROTC, just the wall.
Starting point is 01:39:57 Because that's crazy. You got to join the military. It's the same thing. If you get drafted. You just don't go to war. They put you in training. But a lot of times ROTC people, they get their schools paid for. There's so many different benefits.
Starting point is 01:40:08 And you start at a higher level, too, once you start if you go to ROTC. Go ahead. What do you think? I'm saying ROTC is not the military. Like, you got to join the military. You train for military, though, in ROTC. Damn, that's crazy. No, you're not part of the military.
Starting point is 01:40:21 But if there is a draft, you get called up faster than the regals. Really? Yes. That's what I'm asking to my knowledge, I don't know. If you get trained, I mean, you get trained, I don't know, What's the second part of that, what you said? I thought you are on call for ROTC. We don't have a draft. We don't have a draft.
Starting point is 01:40:37 But it's not drafted. You're on call. No, there is no draft. If I believe correctly, ROTC is your on call. You do ROTC because you do train. And if you ever, if there is a war, you can be called upon to go. You just called your ROTC classes to decrease. People are dropping up.
Starting point is 01:40:53 People are like, what? Yeah. I didn't be saying if I'm an ROTC. I just honestly thought it was. I thought. I thought J.ROTC was. a class that just paid, you know. J.R.R.O.T.C. What? No, it's J.ROTC.
Starting point is 01:41:06 That's junior, man. It's a lot. All right. Well, S.ROTC. It's a field training program that prepares students for officer roles. So it leads to... Like, discipline. Like, they learn. Yeah. You don't train for the war, y'all. And then if you do choose to go to war or to enter the military, you have certain training already, basically. But you choose. You can choose. Language. I thought it was just like a disciplinarian class. Like, you know,
Starting point is 01:41:29 and it was fun. It was funny. I don't think you have no obligation to military service if you're in the RDC because you're not part of the military. I'm not sure. I don't know, but I just, I don't know. Hello, who's this? Good morning. My name is Tyronda.
Starting point is 01:41:42 Tyronda. Your parents didn't know what to do. They thought you was going to be a boy, so they had Tyrone ready. Shut out. And so when you came out of girl, he was like, okay, Tyrone. That's crazy. That's going to do Tyrone. I know what Tyrona.
Starting point is 01:41:53 Don't do that. Tyronda. Not Tyronda. It's Tyronda. Tyronda. Good morning. Good morning. I was just calling to ask the prayer for my nephew.
Starting point is 01:42:03 He's in the Army. So they're waiting on the call to leave. God bless that young man. What's his name? Jadarius. Where is he from? He's from Fort Myers. Man, man.
Starting point is 01:42:13 We sent him a positive energy to Jadares. I'm going to be honest with you. I hope he don't get the call. I hope so too. I know. All of us is praying. Okay. Well, thank you, Mama.
Starting point is 01:42:23 Thank you very much. You have a good day, break. All right, Tyrone. Tyrone. Tyrone. He's going to have to call Tyrononda. Back to what I want to say for ROTC. So ROTC does pay for your school.
Starting point is 01:42:36 They give you scholarships. And in exchange for the scholarship, you must serve as a commission officer in the military after graduation. So you got to enroll in the military after graduation? Correct. Okay. If you take the scholarship, though.
Starting point is 01:42:49 Correct. But I know a lot of ROTC students when I went to Hampton, they did it because we weren't in war and they could get college paid for free. So they never thought that they would have to go to war. But there's a possibility. Surprise, surprise.
Starting point is 01:43:00 That's what you mean. Surprise, surprise. Oh, man, what's the moral? Well, there ain't no moral. Well, the stories, let's just pray for the country, man. Like, you know, like I said, during donkey today, a lot of times we like to say things like, oh, that's your president.
Starting point is 01:43:14 Sadly, that's our president. And, you know, we're all in this together, whether we want to be or not. And it's going to take all of us to clean up this mess that dismayed it's causing. That's right. All right. Well, we have the latest with Lauren coming up,
Starting point is 01:43:26 so don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Lauren will be coming with straight fast. Tell her, man it. She gets them to be somebody that knows somebody. She gets the details. I'm the home girl that knows a little bit about everything.
Starting point is 01:43:37 She'd be having the latest on this. That's the sad to be. The latest with Lauren La Rosa. Sometimes you have facts, sometimes you have details. Sometimes you have a little bit of everything. Well, it's deluded. Brought to you by Top Dog Law. On the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:43:49 Talk to me. All right, guys. So before we get to Shailabuff, I wanted to make sure that we shot it out Nipsey Hustle and Marathon Burger. So I know earlier in, front page news. Mimi Brown talked about the street naming that happened, but they also opened that Marathon Burger in Long Beach and partnership with Snoop Dog and his family over the weekend as well, too.
Starting point is 01:44:09 This is their third location in L.A. And I saw Black Sam, who's Nipsey Hustle's brother, say that they are also going to be open in a location in a location in New York, which will be their first location outside of California, and it's going to be in Times Square. He said it's already locked in. I seen the Black Sam. I've seen a video of Stevie Wonder. Yes.
Starting point is 01:44:25 At the marathon. Stevie Wonder was in the building, okay? He was there. He was seated. him and Black Sam had a moment. Black Sam was so excited about it. He posted a video of him greeting Stevie Wonder, YG was there of course Lauren London pulled up there as well. Steve thought he was
Starting point is 01:44:37 at in and out. No shut up. Oh my gosh. Yeah they had a great there. There was a lot of people there. So congratulations to them on that new location. Yeah, flew through a good brother Black Sam. Drop on a clues bombs for Black Sam and Marathon Burger. Lauren London. So the whole family. Now taking it to New Orleans. So Shilobuff, you guys remember we talked about
Starting point is 01:44:59 his February 17th arrest at Mardi Gras down in New Orleans, right? He had a time. Well, he is speaking out about it now. He sat down for an interview with Channel 5 with Andrew Collahan. It's like, you know, kind of like, they do real interviews, but it's like parody. This is the same platform that did that Hunter Biden interview.
Starting point is 01:45:15 Let's take a listen to Shia LeBuff on how that fight started. I don't think I have a drinking problem. I think I have a different problem. What's that problem? I think I have a small man complex, some kind of Napoleonic. I don't know what it is. I think it's something that has to do with anger and ego more so than my drinking.
Starting point is 01:45:34 What kind of things set off that anger? I'll be honest with you. Big gay people are scary to me. When I'm like standing by myself and three gay dudes are next to me touching my leg, I get scared. I'm sorry. If that's homophobic, then I'm that. Does that happen a lot? No, it just happened one time.
Starting point is 01:45:53 Recently. Well, that's why I got arrested. Oh, okay. Yeah. So you were sort of being groped and thrott. I'm not going to say that because my lawyer said, oh, it's okay, it's okay. We can make it. No, I, I am wrong for touching anyone ever, and that's the end of my statement on this whole .
Starting point is 01:46:12 What is he scared of exactly? Is he scared that he going to get bricked up and want to put his, he's in the mouth of one of them? Like, I don't understand. They say he touches his lady. Three of them. That's the sexual assault. That's different. That's not what he said at first.
Starting point is 01:46:27 That's not what he said. He just said he liked to be afraid big gay men just make him scared. What is he scared up? Yo, they touched him. He probably wasn't skin to when I'm touched him. And he looked up like, oh, you know what I'm saying? Well, that's different. Say that.
Starting point is 01:46:39 But don't just say you're afraid of them just because. That makes me think that you're afraid you're going to get bricked up and want to do something. No. Right. Now, no, if you're big and gay, like, you know what I'm saying? Like a wrestler and you surround somebody and grope them? What you mean? I mean?
Starting point is 01:46:53 I mean, you could be not gay. If you're not big and somebody still be scared. If you're just big and like a wrestler's been around me, I'm scared. But what made the wrestler. gay is that they touched his leg all three of them at one time. That's not what made him gay, but that's what he was bad about. Give me some more this conversation.
Starting point is 01:47:06 Yeah, I got you. I enjoyed this thoroughly. I got you. So last Thursday, there was a judge in New Orleans that set a bail for Shilaba for $100,000 and order him to undergo drug test and enroll in a substance abuse program. And then there was this video of him just running out the courthouse.
Starting point is 01:47:22 And now we know how him being released from jail happened, kind of. Let's take a listen. Is the court like Keeping you here? Yeah, I got to stay. Oh, no. I'm on bond. So you're out on bail.
Starting point is 01:47:32 I don't know what. They told me I'm on bond. Yeah, you're on bail. Okay, then you said it. And then I got to take my shotgun in there in the morning. Can't have a gun. Can't be on drugs. Can't be in no fucking around and can't leave the country.
Starting point is 01:47:45 How much was it on? I don't have no idea of what happened. Does somebody bail you out? I have no idea, bro. I know Thundercat tried to get it going. Stephen and me are very close. Cuddy did the same thing. So I had these assistance.
Starting point is 01:47:57 I don't know these names. names of these people, but they showed up at the court of the jail trying to get me out. And then the bailiff of the jailer and was like, hey, do you know Stacy or Shirley? And I didn't know none of these people. So she said, should I just tell them to go? She did. And then I just left on my own. I don't know who paid for what.
Starting point is 01:48:12 Bro, there's a lot of cloud chasing going on in this motherfucker. You know what I mean? I thought he loved to New Orleans. His father days. So he, so during this, reportedly during his split from his strange wife or however they labeling it, he went to New Orleans to be close. the family. His dad lives there. But there were reports that he brought a home there. So, I
Starting point is 01:48:31 don't know, but they're probably just making sure he stays there because he has to finish everything with court and it's been a lot going on. He doesn't know who bailed him out of nothing. He just, he don't know nothing. You could be released and he ran out. I thought this interview was satire at first. I thought he was playing. I really did. Yeah, right. It's crazy though because the channel he always been like this. Yes, but the YouTube channel is
Starting point is 01:48:49 kind of like, I feel like they do kind of give satire, but it's a serious interview. Like, he was dead serious in his interview. He was explaining like his breakup or lack there of or whatever. He was going into some things. Did you get the part when he said he spoke to Kendrick Lamar, which I do not believe. I believe that's just a complete. Damn.
Starting point is 01:49:03 I don't know if we have that part. Let me see. Let me text. Of course, y'all wouldn't get some of the best parts. Don't do. Don't do. That was all he said about the gay. No, it wasn't.
Starting point is 01:49:13 What else he said? Oh, my God. What else he say? I'm not telling you. Say it. I don't want to say it because I don't want to repeat it unless it's played on the end. That's all I saw. That's all I saw the gay.
Starting point is 01:49:24 Okay, go ahead. Well, who was Shirley? Who was the people that came to get him? he doesn't know exactly who they are but they were potential assistants of either Kid Cuddy or Thundercat. People that were seeing what was happening I was just trying to make sure he was cool
Starting point is 01:49:35 and bail him out. They came to you know Shirley and the fact that he volunteered to do that interview is what makes it actually more hilarious. You didn't have to say anything. No. I know his lawyer is somewhere right now then you didn't have to say anything. You do know that, right?
Starting point is 01:49:51 The fact that he's scared about big gay men is crazy. I was trying to see, okay. I see what you're talking about now with Kendra. Big gay action figure. I remember you. I didn't know where you was going. Oh, no, no, no. I didn't know what you were about to do. Imagine.
Starting point is 01:50:07 Batista, Brock Lesnar, and like Stone Cold Steve Austin. They surround you, envy. And all three of them just grab your leg and they just stay rising up your leg. And then what you're going to do? I wouldn't be scared because they're gay. I'd be scared because they're three intimidating looking figures. And I'd be like, why these three people are surrounding me? Because he's going to be bricked up.
Starting point is 01:50:27 He's just going to be nervous. My mind would not be thinking, oh, they're about to sexually or so. What? You don't think they're about to tear you apart. No, when I think that they're going to be able to be. I don't care if they're gay, if they're straight, if they're both or whatever. Why would that identify? I'm just scared.
Starting point is 01:50:40 I'm like, I'm intimidated because I'm like, why y'all three big things around to me? Oh, my God. Well, it was reported that he yelled out homophobic, homophobic slurs within the fight. So, you know, and the judge even got down on him for that one. They put the bell in. But, yeah. All right. Well, listen.
Starting point is 01:50:56 And if you need, if anything happens, if any big people come and it's an accident, bigger, small, called Top Dog Law. All right. That's right. There you have it. All right. Well, when we come back, we got the mix. We're going to play some meth in the mix this morning. Today, Matt.
