Starting point is 00:02:50 Good morning, USA! Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. Jess, hilarious. Wake that ass up. Charlemaine the God. Peace to the planet, it is Tuesday. Good morning. How y'all feel out there?
Starting point is 00:03:05 I feel blessed black and highly favored. Happy to be here another day to serve our beautiful listeners. Good morning. That's right. How are you feeling out there? How's everybody? I feel like it's December 2nd. So technically, we're off already, bro.
Starting point is 00:03:17 You know what I'm saying? You still got a couple weeks. We're off. We're all the way off. No, we actually off. Well, two weeks. We're not off. No, we off right now.
Starting point is 00:03:24 We're not. We're here live, but we really ain't got to do nothing if we don't want to. You think we're just going through the motions. No, we hear, man. No, I never just go through the motions. I'm just simply saying we're technically off. Right. We're not off.
Starting point is 00:03:36 We're on. Okay. Okay. All right. We on. I'll play along. All right. Well, I see that the storm has been, a storm has been hitting all over the East Coast.
Starting point is 00:03:45 I've seen, I see, it's supposed to be hitting Jersey, New York. I see it hit parts of Detroit. What, snow? Yes, snow. Oh, okay. Where else? Ohio, but now they're saying it's supposed to be hit New York, New Jersey today.
Starting point is 00:03:58 So they're saying a snowstorm, I think New Jersey has a state of emergency, so flights are delayed. So if you're traveling in and out or around the east coast of Midwest, they're saying, watch your flights because it might be delayed. You might have a hard time getting in a touching down. Jeez, and there's a lot of rain down here in Atlanta. It's a whole bunch of rain.
Starting point is 00:04:14 That's right. I'm geeked up, looking for it. In Atlanta, it's crazy. That's what I'm saying. As soon as he said that, and this is the fourth time this morning, he came saying at 5.30. First of all. Hit Atlanta feeling free. I just liked the song.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Okay, that's all. Just at one point. Salute to Y. K. Neese. That's Y. K. Nees, right, Louie? Okay. Just got to make sure. I got to make sure. I'm kicked up, looking for it.
Starting point is 00:04:35 And that's Y. K. Unk. He had the ex-plained Y. K.N. W.K.K.O., crazy. Who song is that? Bellig Gush. Bally Gush. I saw him. He from Atlanta?
Starting point is 00:04:46 Oh, he's from Atlanta. Okay. Yeah. On a video. On YouTube. You said I've seen him. I thought he raided to him in the street. I thought you seen him in a restaurant.
Starting point is 00:04:54 I've seen him out of the video. Well, that's the inspiration of a Drewski character? Remember that character that Drusky did that time? That's, that had to be, right? Mm-hmm. They look just alike. Oh, my goodness. You know the character I'm talking about?
Starting point is 00:05:05 I do know what character you're talking about. Yeah. All right. Well, suit the bell again, because you know, that's a tough tool. Well, today this morning is Giving Tuesday. You know, there was Cyber Monday. It was Black Friday, and this is Giving Tuesday. Well, they find all kind of ways to do stuff.
Starting point is 00:05:17 This is actually a good one because they're not asking, well, they're asking for money, but it's for a good reason. Yeah, so we'll be talking to the people from the food bank who feeds millions and millions and millions of people yearly and they just need some help, some money. And I think $1 feeds five people. $1 feeds five people.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Yeah, I'm an ambassador for the Food Bank of New York City. I've been working with them for a few years, man, and they actually do phenomenal work. It's one of those organizations, one of those foundations that you know, organizations that you can give your money to and you can see exactly where your money is going. That's right.
Starting point is 00:05:50 So we'll talk to them in a little bit. Did you all see the, did he doc last night? Did you watch it? Did y'all watch it? No, I was so tired. I did not. It came out at midnight, y'all. No, it was supposed to come out at midnight, but it came out 3 a.m. Eastern Time, which was midnight on the West Coast.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Oh, yeah, I definitely didn't see it. I planned to watch it today. I was in my bed. Are you crazy? Yeah, I waited until about 1230, 1215. I said, nah, after the Giants got, oh, my gosh. Yo, listen, I was taking a nap. The Giants got picked so bad, man.
Starting point is 00:06:15 No, yo, I was sleep. And then I woke up, and Chris was watching it. So I was like 70, 30 in the third quarter. Like, y'all was down, 23. No, no, no, y'all was down 23 points In the third quarter, yo No, it was 7.30. It was 7 to 30.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Well, 30 to 7. Huh? Whatever, you know. They were down. In the third quarter. Yeah, the Patriots had 30. They had 7. And y'all had 7.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Yeah, they was crazy. It was crazy. It was, it was disrespectful. What was you think was going to happen, though? Seriously, did you expect otherwise? We beat the Eagles one time, so I didn't know who you never know some time. Start the show, right. Let's get the show crack. When we come back, we got front page news,
Starting point is 00:06:52 Me Me will be breaking everything down. And then you can get it off your chest. 800-58-1-105-1. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Charlamia and the guy. We are the breakfast club. You couldn't start off the show with nothing faster, Envy? You start off on the position? Did you have depressed if the Giants got the ass kick last night? Well, first of all, I don't pick the music on the show. You got to make up your mind whether or not you pick the music on the show.
Starting point is 00:07:14 I don't pick the music. I don't. No, I don't. I never say I pick the music on the show. I always say I don't pick the music on the show because I don't. You're a lie. Now, sometimes we do an audible and we just put records in, but we don't pick the music on the show.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Well, I just want Chris Brown to know, he ain't getting them now. Okay, how many times he played a song every hour? Let's get in some front page news, y'all. Now, start off with sports, yes, the Giants got spank last night. Our record is 2 and 11, and we should just keep losing. Let's just try to get the number one pick. I don't even know who the number one pick's going to be this year,
Starting point is 00:07:43 but it's just disgusting. Don't wish that on nobody. Why would you want somebody to have to come play for the Giants? Don't wish that on me. That could be a good thing. If all our guys are healthy, Dodd, And running bag and neighbors. We'll be all right next year.
Starting point is 00:07:53 We'll be all right next year. We sound like you every year. You're going to make it to the Super Bowl. First of all, first of all. My team is six and five and one, sir. All right. What does that mean? My team beat the last two teams that was in the Super Bowl, sir.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Okay. So if you do math, that means that we're going to the Super Bowl this year. Help, Mimi, help. I'm coming, Evie. Good morning, y'all. How y'all doing this morning? Good morning. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Okay, so we start this morning at the Pentagon where the fallout from that deadly boat strike in the Caribbean. It is still escalating. Now, we told you about this yesterday. The U.S., they carried out two strikes on a suspected drug smuggling boat. And on the second one, that strike had killed survivors who had already been thrown into the water after that first blast. And today, the White House, though, they are shifting blame over the weekend. The Washington Post, they reported that Secretary Pete Hetzet, he allegedly told an elite unit to kill everyone on that boat,
Starting point is 00:08:45 a claim that's already sparked calls for an investigation. But now the administration says the key decision did not come from HECSeth at all. They say it came from Admiral Frank Bradley. He is the head of Special Operations Command. He was in charge of the mission. And during a press briefing yesterday, Press Secretary Caroline Levitt, she is defending HECF, and she put the responsibility squarely on Bradley. Let's listen to that exchange.
Starting point is 00:09:09 On September 2nd, Secretary Hegseth authorized Admiral Bradley to conduct these kinetic strikes. Admiral Bradley worked well within his authority. and the law directing the engagement to ensure the boat was destroyed and the threat to the United States of America was eliminated. To clarify, Admiral Bradley was the one who gave that order for a second strike. And he was well within his authority to do so. Was the initial order from Secretary Hague-Seth, everyone be killed and did that come from President Trump? I saw that quoted in a Washington Post story. I would reject that the Secretary of War ever said that. however the president has made it quite clear that if narco terrorists again are trafficking illegal drugs
Starting point is 00:09:50 towards the United States he has the authority to kill them and that's what this administration is doing I'm so confused by all of this I mean I'm all for keeping drugs and you know drug dealers out of the country but what happened to due process not to mention where is the proof that there's actually drugs on this boat exactly what I was I was just going to say that doesn't that seem like a little bit of too much force for for drugs yeah just kill them yeah That seems like, and these missiles, what, a $250,000 a missile? You're saying there a $250,000 missile of the boat? That just seems like a lie.
Starting point is 00:10:21 That seems like over shooting, in my opinion, but I don't know. Who am I? Well, to your point, Republican Senator Rand Paul, he is also weighing in, calling the strikes deeply troubling and saying that American people, they deserve full transparency. Let's listen to what he had to say about this. You know, when you kill someone, you should know if you're not in war, not in a declared war, you really need to know someone's name, at least. You have to accuse them of something. you have to present evidence. So all of these people have been blown up without knowing their name, without any evidence of a crime.
Starting point is 00:10:50 And for decades, if not centuries, when you stop people at sea in international waters or in your own waters, you announce that you're going to board the ship and you're looking for contraband, smuggling, or drugs. The other thing about these speedboats is they're 2,000 miles away from us. If they have drugs, they're probably peddling drugs to one of the islands of Trinidad or Tobago off. of Venezuela, the idea that they're coming here is like it's a huge assumption. Yeah, that sounds crazy. That's all I'm saying,
Starting point is 00:11:22 though. We just need some transparency. Let's make sure you're unaliving the right individuals. If then, by the way, you shouldn't be unaliving them. Like, it should be some two-processes. Yes. Yes. And not for, I see, I don't think you, not for drugs. Like you said, you can pull the boat over, you can go in there, you can confiscate the drugs,
Starting point is 00:11:37 you can put them in jail. But you're shooting missiles at... Because it's a slippery slope, right? That's crazy. If that's the mindset, you know, now, how do you know that mindset won't start to be implemented here in America? You just start unaliving drug dealers. Exactly. Well, the Pentagon, they aren't offering
Starting point is 00:11:53 any new details on this, but pressure is growing. Members of Congress, they are pushing for a full investigation saying this incident, it is raising serious and legal and ethical questions about how the administration is carrying out its expanded campaign against alleged drug traffickers
Starting point is 00:12:09 at sea. So I'm sure this is not going away anytime soon, so we will continue to follow that. And coming up at 7, a major change to the way that you will be traveling. It's going to cost you more money. We'll tell you what you need to bring to the airport so that you can avoid a new fee. I don't mind that, though, but we'll talk
Starting point is 00:12:25 about it next hour. All right. Okay. Everybody else, get it off your chest. 800 585105.151. If you need to vent, phone lines are wide open, 800 585105.1. And they said the cost of a single missile used in the recent U.S. military boat strikes is about $150,000
Starting point is 00:12:41 for a hellfire missile. So each missile at they shoot is $150,000. Jesus Christ. All right. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk. I hate the way that you dress.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Everything with me is blessed. Call up next. 800-585-105-1. Not just me. I'm with the coach of feeling. Hello, who's this? Peter. Yo, what it is? This is your boy, Jay Alizana, aka Charlie Shipper, aka 2-29. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:13:12 I just wanted to talk a little trash. You know, South Carolina State beat Delaware State last weekend. So I just wanted to talk a little trash. I forgot to deliver that message, man. Yeah, South Carolina State beat Delaware State 28 and 17. And I remember when Lauren declared that Delaware State was going to the Celebration Bowl once in. Go on to the Celebration Bowl. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:33 You remember that right? Yeah, that's not happening. Guess who's going to the celebration bowl, South Carolina State. South Carolina State. I was with my home girl, Chris Carlin, on Friday. She was like, FaceTime Loewin right now. FaceTime Loire right now. Oh, I know it's great.
Starting point is 00:13:48 That's all my Gucci Guller people in South Carolina, man. You know, I'm from Georgia, but, you know, I went to South Carolina State. So, shot all my geeky gullas people, man. So you're going to the Celebration Bowl? Oh, yeah, definitely. You already know. I'm in the building. Yeah, we're in there.
Starting point is 00:14:01 And we're going to beat whoever. It might be prayer view. It might be Jackson State. But whoever it is, they can beat by South Carolina State. We're in the building. Yes, sir. That's right. Have a good one.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Oh, who's this? Hey, this Auntie Kim. How you guys doing? What's up, Auntie Kim? He's Auntie Kim. Hey, Charlemagne. What's up? I just wanted to apologize,
Starting point is 00:14:21 although you didn't know I was coming, but I was coming Friday. What happened Friday? When you was down at, when you was in Charleston with a... Oh, yeah. With Chris Canlin. Herda daughter.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Yeah. Yeah. He said, Bergen daughter. Come on, man. Come on, man. Come on, man. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:14:38 You know that's... Hey, you know you ain't got no name. What are your mama name? Julie. Julie, son. I'm Julie's son. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:48 I mean, bourbon daughter. I know child. I know see the child coming up right now in front of me, man. God dang. But yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Yeah. But I've been in a car wreck, so. Oh, damn, okay. I'm sorry. And then people try to tear up my dog on car like no man,
Starting point is 00:15:03 you's not running me into no pool. I'm sorry. You got insurance, though, right? Yeah, yeah, everything covered,
Starting point is 00:15:10 but it just, you know, That little turbulence, man. You know, the 65-year-old body don't work like that no more. Oh, man. I feel you. Yeah. Everything else is good.
Starting point is 00:15:20 But I heard you did a good job anyway. Yeah, we had a good time Friday night. Thank you very much. We had a good time for him. Yeah, yeah. I gave my daughter the picture. She was always the mom. I try to get to him, but he, you know, I'm going to be in the VI, VI, VI.
Starting point is 00:15:33 And I said, hey, you've been in the building, right? This is, yeah. I said, okay, then, be happy. Absolutely. Tell me I said thank you for coming up. No, yeah, no. Hey, I didn't know you was coming. She told me, and then I was like, okay, I'm going to get a ticket.
Starting point is 00:15:47 But like I said, that happened and threw my whole Thanksgiving over. But what I really want to get off my chest to is, you know, you're killing these people in Venezuela. You don't know who these people are. They don't know who them people are. Some people ain't no drug dealers. Them people are probably fishermen. People trying to make a living. And I can't wait until they find out what the deal is.
Starting point is 00:16:10 because I'm going to tell you, the Hague, the Hague ain't got no power, pardon powers. You forget that. Dang. And listen, when we were trying to get Jack Smith on board, I wish the Hague will go right back and get Jack, because you know Jack Smith or running the Hague. Boy, I wish they'll go right back and get Jack Smith.
Starting point is 00:16:26 He'll be waiting on them. You said running the what? Are you saying the Hague? The Hague, the Hague, International Law. Oh, I thought you were talking about the Hague. I thought you were talking about you want the Hague to go ride them or something. I'm like, what is you? I don't do that. Don't follow him up.
Starting point is 00:16:44 The hang, man. You know that's a gala. You know that's the gala now. You don't act like you can't get the gala. Julie son. All right, Mama. I love y'all always, though. I love you too. Jesus. All right. Hello, who's this? Irritated Uber driver. Irritated Uber driver. All right. What's up, Mama? You don't have your chest. Okay, listen. I'm an Uber driver in the city of Detroit.
Starting point is 00:17:08 I started about 3 o'clock in the morning, and I end about 5 in the afternoon. I'm tired of these people coming in there smelling like chill-ins and everything else right in me. And they get mad when I'm riding down the road with the window down. I can't take it. Then they tell me, oh, they feel sorry for me because I can't do nothing else. I said, no, baby, don't feel sorry for me. I just got laid off from my job because I pissed the right person off. They in your car and being your passenger, and they're telling you that they feel sorry for you because you're driving.
Starting point is 00:17:38 For Uber, they're telling me, they feel sorry for me because I'm driving for Uber, and they ask me why am I driving for Uber. I say because I'm a construction worker in the city of Detroit, and I pissed off a contractor and checked him about putting dirty dirt in the city of Detroit. I'm glad you did that. I don't understand why people would disrespect a service that they're actually used. Yeah, I don't get it. You should ask them why they don't have a car. Why are you right? Why you have to catch Uber?
Starting point is 00:18:03 Why you even got a call? And, ma'am, ma'am, what's dirty dirt? Dirty dirt is toxic dirt I worked for this company in Detroit called Guyanga And they were responsible for tearing down The abandoned houses in the city of Detroit And the owner Brian McKinney
Starting point is 00:18:21 Took toxic dirt from the landfill And filled over 1,500 properties So I turned a man Damn So people think it's like Flint waters You should say allegedly No no he did because I was the whistleblower.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Well, I don't know if he did it, not so, but, you know, but, okay, well, allegedly, allegedly, allegedly, he, he put in dirty dirt and 1,500 property. Okay. And I got fired for letting the proper people know about it. So that's why I'm doing Uber. I stood up for something that I felt was wrong, and I say it something, and I'm an Uber driver.
Starting point is 00:19:02 That's what I'm doing. But I'm tired of these people coming here, stanking him. The end of the day I'm stank Put on some deodorant That's smelling like Chitlins and riding eggs
Starting point is 00:19:13 Damn I have sample deodorant perfumes Polones in my car And it's a hint If you stink you forgot it Put some on Maybe you're riding in the wrong parts You gotta go to the other parts of Detroit
Starting point is 00:19:26 You get the people that don't stink Man I go in West Bloomfield Rochester Hills and they still stink I'm sorry mama I mean, I'm sorry this is happening. And I'm sorry that people are still eating chittling. When I was home last week in South Carolina, I had like two or three people, you know, off of me chitlins.
Starting point is 00:19:42 I'm like, wow, who still eat chitlins in 2025? Yo, it's nothing wrong with pig chitlins, ham hacks, hog logs. I don't eat pork period, but I'm definitely not eating no pig guts. That's crazy. But your ass, though, that is so crazy. I'm geeked up looking for it. In Atlanta, get it off your chest, 800-585-105.1. I got the latest with Lauren coming up.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Is Lauren? Now, I am here. I am ashy. I just washed my hands. Good morning. How are you, Envy? Good, good, good. We got the latest is what we talk about, Lauren.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Get between the thumb and this finger right here. First of all I know how to put a shit on. Ignore him, Lauren. All way in Atlanta getting on my nerves. Ignore him. What you said? Yes, we do have the latest with Lauren coming up. The Diddy documentary dropped at 3 a.m. this morning.
Starting point is 00:20:27 I know you did you watch that. I tried to stay up. I started the first episode. I fell asleep. I just finished the first and I'm almost finished the second. So we will talk. talk about it in the first hour and get into it in the beginning of it so far. You all committed, Laura.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Yeah she is. I tried, y'all. I really did. All right. Well, we get into that. When we come back, it's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:20:49 Lauren becoming a special. She gets them from somebody that knows somebody. She gets to detail. I'm the home girl that knows a little bit about everything. She'd be having the latest on this. The latest with Lauren La Rosa. fact, sometimes you have details, sometimes you have a little bit everything. Well, it's the latest.
Starting point is 00:21:08 On the Breakfast Club. Talk to me. All right, y'all, so the Diddy Doc, can you hear me, Envi? Yes. Oh, I couldn't hear myself. Okay, so the Diddy Dock is now out on Netflix. So, I tried to watch as much of it as I could. I got to about episode two. So. That thing came out three in the morning. You was up at
Starting point is 00:21:25 three in the morning? That's crazy. And calling people, too. For what? Because a lot, there's a lot of claims in here that I just, before we talked about, I wanted to make sure I talk to the people themselves. That's right, Lauren. Do the damn thing. So let's get into it. All right. Now in the first episode, a lot of it is like old like hip hop war stories, honestly, providing like this foundation of like Diddy and all the things. But one of the parts
Starting point is 00:21:49 that I thought was interesting when they talk about Diddy's upbringing. And they're trying to paint the picture of like why Diddy is probably this like monster that everybody's trying to make him out to beat. Let's take a listen to number four. Sean's household You start to see all the stuff That you saw on the movies Jan is a new happy girl party And the party's packed
Starting point is 00:22:09 You got ladies that look like They're straight out of a jet magazine Some brothers up there You know if you want to call them pimps You can if you want to call them hustlers You got a member of the New York Knicks There was a stage in her living room And that's where we used to have to go and dance
Starting point is 00:22:25 And everybody's calling you baby And everybody's saying do that dance and all of this stuff he's taken in. So from the movie screen to the home screen, these are the makings of Sean comes. Now, mind you as a child, Sean was goofy. Kids would pick on him a lot around the block,
Starting point is 00:22:41 and he didn't know how to defend himself. Sean was a prince, and Janice, she didn't want no princess. Who was that from? Sean was a prince, but he wasn't a princess. Like, get the point. You still got a princess, kind of now, just a little bit. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Oh, God. I bet you're 50 which day is a prison. That's crazy. That was one of his old friends, Tim Dogg Patterson. Oh, man. Who says that, you know, he grew up with Diddy and, you know, was around for a lot of earlier makings of things. He's featured a lot throughout the documentary as well.
Starting point is 00:23:18 But in another part of the documentary, they talk about, so they go from old stuff to like this new footage. The new footage is honestly the good stuff. So there's a part of the documentary. where Diddy and Groovy Lou are talking about the fact that the legal system is out to get Diddy. Let's take a listen to that. Take the blood, man.
Starting point is 00:23:38 What's the fucking hell show now? There's a bunch of silly. Just silly bullshit noise. Those sense. But it's like the legal system is doing it now. Because like legally, it's got to. It's like, now I got to spend money to go and get rid of this bullshit. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Ain't got nothing left. Got nothing left going on. They ain't breaking me, though. That was Diddy talking? Yeah, so that was Diddy, and that was Groovy Lou. For those who don't know, Groovy Lou is Diddy's, like, Silas, creative director who's been working with him for decades. And basically what you're watching is them standing outside of the hotel that Diddy was
Starting point is 00:24:13 staying in before he was arrested. This is literally like days leading into the arrest. And Diddy's like, I don't care what's happening. I'm not giving up. I'm not going to fight. To me, watching the new videos that are in this, I really don't think that Diddy was registering that he wasn't about to beat at least. I feel like he thought he was going to watch.
Starting point is 00:24:29 walk away from this. I wonder what Diddy holds himself accountable for. Like I can't wait until somebody can sit down and have a conversation with him and we actually hear what he holds himself accountable for. Because even listening to him talk right there, it's like, yo, the legal system can't get you if you don't give them nothing to get. Yeah, I haven't seen accountability yet in this. There's actually another clip speaking of that where Diddy is, this is six days out from his arrest and he's in the hotel room with his son and Groovy Liu. And he's talking about the fact that he rode by a bad boy building. It was knocked down. And this is the message he took from that. Let's
Starting point is 00:24:59 Take a listen. mind you, this is six days out from the arrest. But that bad boy didn't have been closed. He said that he saw it two months before that. But I'm saying it hadn't been bad boys' offices or anything. No, they just knocked it down. They knocked it down. They just knocked it down. Oh. We pass it every day. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:43 But they knocked it down. Well, another interesting part of this docu series in the first episode was finding out some information about Misa Hilton that she hasn't even gotten a chance to speak on herself. And I did talk to Misa about this before we talk about this because it's very personal
Starting point is 00:25:59 to her. So in this documentary, Eric Sermon talks about Diddy allegedly beating on Misa Hilton during their relationship. Let's take a listen to number two. I thought it was a general friendship until I see that this game is being played. You got an agenda. Misa, he was trying to court her after we broke up. Sean wants her because Eric was that dude. It was about I got her. I won her. I won't her over from him. He had to have the girl. And Sean has a way about when he gets you, he got you. And now you become property.

The most Texas story ever. There's a lot of mavericks in that story. We're going to have mavericks on the show. We're plenty of robber barons. So many robber barons. And you know what? They're not all bad.

I like the idea of like, hey, put me on a big deer, you know, hey, there's a big deer out here.
Starting point is 00:28:25 He's doing this. Be looking for this deer. also love doing it on my own. I love going out there and saying running my cameras. I love patterning in the deer. I like showing up at the right time checking the wind, knowing what's stand I need to be in, and then whenever it all comes together and it happens, that's the most satisfying thing ever. So when you do it on your own, it's like I then can hang my hat. But if I had somebody say, hey, pull up on these dots and catch them right here and you're going to win. and then when I go win, it's like, yeah, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:28:57 I won the tournament. The ultimate goal is done. But it's like, dude, when you find them and you make them bite, that's the puzzle. I love it. The Chiefs come on a flip pass to Rice. Their side, touchdown! Remandre Stevens is my sleeper this week. This is a match-out where I think I can slide in Stevenson

Starting point is 00:30:17 It's not just a city. I didn't really have an interest of being on air. I kind of was up there to just try and infiltrate the building. It's where Kronk was born in a club in the West End. Four world star, it was five, five, nine. Where a tiny bar birthed a generation of rap stars, where preachers go viral, and students at the HBCU turned heartbreak into resurrection.
Starting point is 00:30:37 How do you get people to believe in something that's dead? Where dreamers brought Hollywood to the south, and hustlers bring their visions to create black wealth. Nobody's rushing into relationships with you. Where are you from? They want to look in the eye. Where the future is nostalgia. Talk to my chat, GPT.
Starting point is 00:30:53 She's like, you really the first lady to have a gayful girl's tape in Atlanta, Georgia. Like, that's what separates you from a lot of people. And I'm like, oh, what, you're right. Atlanta doesn't wait for permission. It builds its own spotlight. I'm big rude. Let us guide you through the stories behind Atlanta's most iconic moments. Listen to Atlanta is on the I-Hard Radio app.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast. It was just friends, but he wanted to make sure that there was no calling and me being friends with that girl. Sean's jealousy It got to the point where he would put his hands on her Right outside of uptown records They're fighting in the street And he's beating her into the car well
Starting point is 00:31:34 She's on the ground And people are pulling him off of her And separating her A year or two later They're still together And Justin is born That was two voices So I know Eric Sermon was in the beginning
Starting point is 00:31:47 Who is the one that was saying? Let me clear it up So Eric Sermin of EPMD is the one that's having a conversation about him and Misa being friends, but Puff thought it was a bit more than that. Now, the second voice is Kirk Burroughs. And Kirk Burroughs is the person in the ledge
Starting point is 00:32:00 that he saw this, like, fight situation between Misa and Puff. And Misa, that's not even a conversation she wants to have. She says that right now, you know, she's moved on from all of this. Like, she says it's so disappointing that she was brought up in the way that she was
Starting point is 00:32:16 in this docu-series. Number one, she says that they did reach out to her to be a part of it, and she declined. and she just doesn't understand why they're bringing all this up now because it attaches to her. Like she's doing businesses. She has nonprofits that she's working on
Starting point is 00:32:29 and these type of conversations and stories because of how big this case is with Diddy attached to her and what she's trying to do it and she's just like, why? Like why did I get brought into this? I have nothing to do with you guys' issues. Yeah, I agree with that. Salute to Kirk Burroughs,
Starting point is 00:32:42 nothing but respect for that brother. I don't know him personally. Well, he's one of the, they say, co-founders of Bad Boy. He was the one to help Diddy's thought bad boy for people that don't know, know the name, he's the one of the co-founders of bad boy. But why didn't you tell
Starting point is 00:32:54 that story earlier in your life, earlier in your career? You probably could have stopped others from experiencing future abuse. Like, you should have told that story years ago, Kirk. Like, telling that story now, what's the point? Like, it's just hard to watch people who benefited off Puff and didn't speak on his dysfunction back then having
Starting point is 00:33:10 the courage, and I put courage in air quotes, to speak on it now. Yeah, and she also says, too, that a lot of the recula, Misa says a lot of the way that these things are being told, are just not true like chronologically they're not true and then also like the under the card thing she says there were things that did happen but that did not happen so it's like a pile on of things that are just you know the family is experiencing right now that they just don't need I just don't know why
Starting point is 00:33:34 you wouldn't tell that story earlier yeah if you if you once again you could have probably stopped future abuse if you would have intervened and said something about it decades ago yeah even even with the eric sermon situation and I know he's eric sermon and he's produced stuff on my album for years but like what sister is you saying you dated Misa and then when y'all broke up puffed all the day like yeah y'all already had broke up he said it like it seems like these conversations now
Starting point is 00:33:59 like he took you a girl but y'all were broken up yeah and the way that the doc is set up in this part around it they're trying to paint the whole like when did he want something there's no stopping him from the girl to the career to whatever but she said that they were just friends now I do have the part of uh he didn't tell you that though
Starting point is 00:34:15 of uh like she's stop on stop I do have the audio of Eric Sermon talking about Diddy Swinging on him over Misa allegedly? Let's take a listen. Now, after all this time, me and Misa is still cool. We was just friends. But one time, she just happened to be in my driver's seat on my truck.
Starting point is 00:34:34 And all of the time, I heard somebody go, and it's him. He's steaming. He swings on me. So I'm laughing, and I'm like, you swung on me? You're putting yourself in jeopardy knowing you can't work, none of us. So now I'm like, you know. You know, let's go around the corner. Because I'm respectful enough.
Starting point is 00:34:53 So he actually gets in the car and we drive around the corner. So I'm about to give him the business. Could have got really ugly. And he just said, yo, soon now, I'm going to hear something real quick. And that's when he played him in the Biggie Smalls album. Wait a minute. Now she just happened to be sitting there. Come on, now, Eric.
Starting point is 00:35:10 That sound crazy, right? Then he swung on you and you said, then you start talking tough stuff. I'm going to give him the business. Then he jumped in your car. You gave him a ride to go in the piece. And then y'all ends up listening to the music. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:20 Nathan said that is out of board. I know we got a rat. But she said, first of all. That sounds crazy, Eric. He says she just happened to be sitting in my truck. No, Diddy swung on me. I laugh. I'm like, because you know you can't whip none of us.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Now let's go fight. I'm going to give you a ride to go fight. Then we're going to get around the corner and then we're going to listen music. What? Come on, Eric. It was all the dream. That's crazy. You said Diddy just.
Starting point is 00:35:48 wanted an Uber. It was the first Uber. We found out in this first episode. Damn, that sounds crazy. Mesa said the juicy music, I mean, the Biggie music wouldn't even have been available to even listen at that point because it, there was a lot more that needed to have happened first. So she didn't even have Justin. This was like uptown days. So she said some of this is very like that. That ain't the strangest part of that story, me sure. Giving somebody a lot of a lift to go give them the beach and then y'all end up listening to music. It's crazy. Yeah. I think Eric's coming up in the next of a week, But that sounds crazy.
Starting point is 00:36:18 Well, we got a lot of conversation for Eric. My apologies for mixing up the two in the video. A lot of the people that Eric were running with, I don't think Diddy would have been able to swing him. They would have dragged Diddy all up and down wherever they were. Like, because Eric ran with some crazy individuals back then. But I don't know. I'm going to drive around the corner.
Starting point is 00:36:33 We're going to listen to Biggie. Everything's cool after you just swung on me and I laughed at you. Hmm. Well, there's. And then what happened? Did Misa get out? Did she get in the back? Oh, did she.
Starting point is 00:36:41 No, Misa said she got out of there because she already knew what time it was. And then he got in the car. If a man swing on you. And then where do you let them sit? You can't let them sit in the background. Right next to you again. Next two. Ride shotgun, twill in it.
Starting point is 00:36:54 You ride shotguns, I can keep my eyes. Pull over. Oh, my goodness. It's all right. That is the latest with Lauren. When we come back, we got front page news, so don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Just hilarious. Salameen the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get back in some front page news. Sports last night, the Giants pretty much didn't play. Let's leave it at that.
Starting point is 00:37:13 What's up, Mimi? Listen, hold up. Did you see when the dude went to go kick the field goal, and he kicked his foot into the ground. I've never seen that before ever in football. How about that? How about that? I've never seen that ever before.
Starting point is 00:37:25 And they were, I mean, I felt so bad for dark our quarterback. I mean, they were popping him left and right, man. Jesus Christ. Oh, us. God, damn, right. Jesus. All right. What's up, Mimi?
Starting point is 00:37:35 All right, Envy. Good morning. Envy Jess Charlamaine. How y'all doing this morning? Hey, girl. Good morning. All right, so we start this hour in Tennessee, where it is election day, a special congressional race that should have been an easy.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Republican win, but it has suddenly become competitive. Now, voters are choosing who will fill the House seat in Tennessee's 7th District that was left open after long time GOP Congressman Mark Green resigned this summer for a private sector job. At Tennessee's 7th District,
Starting point is 00:38:03 it is a deep red district. Republicans have controlled it for more than 40 years and President Trump, he won it by more than 20 points. But today's race between Republican Matt Van Epps and Democrat Afton Bain is razor thin. A new poll shows Van Epps is up by just two points, which is well within the margin of error.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Now, House Speaker Mike Johnson, he flew in yesterday to headline a rally for Van Epps during that event. Johnson, he called President Trump, who jumped on speakerphone to fire up his supporters and pushed them toward the polls. Let's listen to what he told him. I just want to thank everybody. I love Tennessee, one of my all-time favorite places. But if you can go, Matt Van Epps, he's a winner.
Starting point is 00:38:43 He's going to be great. Don't let this stuff for you. the Democrats are spending a fortune, and we don't want people that want to raise your taxes. She wants to raise your taxes on top of everything else. But she said two things above all else that bothered me. Number one, she hates Christianity. Number two, she hates country music. How to hell can you elect a person like that?
Starting point is 00:39:07 Well, meanwhile, Democrat Afton Bain, she is pushing back against Republican attacks. She said Trump and others are pointing to a 2020 podcast. clip where she joked about hating Nashville, country music, and about past comments she made about police funding. She says those clips are being taken out of context and being used to distract from the real issues. Let's listen to what she had to say. During the George Floyd moment, when the entire country was demanding accountability and safer policing, and what I've always believed is that communities need investment. They need investment to be safe. They need investment in mental health responders, first responders and youth programs to reduce that crime. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:39:46 a private citizen back then, and now I'm a lawmaker. Like I said, I represent 60,000 voters with diverse political opinions. But what I hear from families across the 7th District is that they want safe neighborhoods and they want to lower the cost of living. That's where my priorities are. Yeah, I don't care what kind of music you like.
Starting point is 00:40:02 You know what I'm saying? Especially at a time like this. I care about what your policies are about. If you're voting for someone because of what kind of music day, like you probably shouldn't be voting. That's a weight of a vote. Absolutely. And this is a lesser known race, but a very important race. So early voting, is showing that it's leaning toward Bain,
Starting point is 00:40:18 but Republicans, they say that Election Day turnout could swing it back to Van Epps. So if you are in Tennessee, polls close at 7 p.m. And turnout will definitely decide this one, and we will continue to watch what happens in a special election. Mimi, do you think Trump endorsements help or hurt
Starting point is 00:40:34 at a time like this? I think right now they hurt more than anything. This is a Republican district that has won Republican everything for the past 40 years. And all of a sudden, there's this margin, like really marginally thin, razor thin difference between the two candidates, like
Starting point is 00:40:50 two points, it's not looking good for them. And Democrats are saying even if they come in and they win by single digits, it's still a win for them because they, you know, they're so close. The margin is so close. I don't think, I don't think, I think he should sit this one out and see what happens. But we'll see what happens.
Starting point is 00:41:05 We'll continue to watch. All right, well, today is also giving Tuesday. It's the Global Day of Generosity that started back in 2012 as a simple hashtag. It always falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and over the years it's grown into one of the biggest fundraising days for nonprofits against the country
Starting point is 00:41:21 across the country and this year it matters more than ever because so many families are struggling right now. Food prices are still high. Millions are underemployed or unemployed. Nonprofits say the demand is rising as many organizations are seeing cuts by government grants
Starting point is 00:41:37 and there's also they say a shift in how people are giving. Some people are feeling more comfortable, giving directly so those cash app, those binmos will go fund me's sending money straight to people in need others are sticking with the non-profits the food banks the community groups the local charities there is no wrong answer generosity looks different to everyone but just the warning if you are giving today make sure you vet who you are sending it to check websites read reviews look for transparency of course we just said people need help today
Starting point is 00:42:06 and so making sure that where you're giving is exactly where it's going to last year giving Tuesday donations reach $3.6 billion in a single day. That's dope. Yeah, that tough times people can still show up. That's right. And that, yeah. Go ahead. I was going to say, go out there and sow a seed, man.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Go to your local food bank. Go to your local pantry. Go to your local community organization that does that type of work in the community, especially in regards to making sure people eat. Man, give them a dollar. Like, you know, everything counts. Like, every single thing counts. I don't care if it jingles or if it folds, man.
Starting point is 00:42:40 Just, you know, find one of these. these different organizations to sow a seed with. That's why we have the Food Bank of NYC coming in next hour to talk about how you can help what it is at they're doing. Absolutely. Absolutely. Very important. All right, well, that's your front page news.
Starting point is 00:42:53 I'm Mimi Brown. Follow me at Mimi Brown TV. For more stories, follow the Black Information Network. Download the free IHeartRadio app or visit BINNews.com. Thank you, BIN News.com. All right. Now, let's open up the phone lines. 800-5815-105-101. I know a lot of you guys are back from your Thanksgiving break
Starting point is 00:43:11 And I was just curious about co-parenting, right? If you're not together, how does co-parenting work? We've seen what happened with Ray J and Princess. That didn't work out well. We've seen Todd and Candy. He wasn't in the family pick. So I'm just curious. He wasn't in the pick, but he was there earlier.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Yeah, he was there earlier. Yeah. So we're asking 800-585-105-1. How does that work? Now, we can ask you. Absolutely. Because now, if Rome has a new chick, a new girl, which he has?
Starting point is 00:43:40 And can he bring her to the Thanksgiving dinner? Yeah, yeah. He can. This the thing. I don't really like people knowing where I live at. So I'm already no better not to bring me, not to bring nobody to my house that he hasn't seriously been dating for a while. Not a random.
Starting point is 00:43:55 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like all his girlfriends who actually get that position, they've come to Thanksgiving or whatever. No, it's never no issue. You just said girlfriends plural. Yeah, yeah, over the years. Like all the girlfriends over the years, if they are solidified as an action,
Starting point is 00:44:10 girlfriend, yes, they do come to my house and they bring me a kid too. And Rome bring his whole little football team as well. Now, other way around, I've never spent Thanksgiving at Rome's house. He's always welcome to come to my house, though. It's never been an issue. Never ever been an issue. Yeah, because I always wonder if you're not together, right? If a couple's not together in like a recent breakup, how does that work? Like with Ray Jay and Princess, right? Because Ray J. has said numerous times he wants to be back in that relationship. Princess hasn't said anything. So you know that has to be a lot of to talk during Thanksgiving if he really
Starting point is 00:44:42 wants to be back, right? Aren't you going to try to push that? It takes a high emotional intelligence though, right? Because you've got to realize even if you're mad at your significant other or that's significant other. It's not about y'all, it's about the kids. Right. It's definitely about the kids, but it also depends on how the parent act too. Like if it's a toxic, it depends
Starting point is 00:44:58 on how toxic it was and what the breakup was like surrounding. Like this is like Ray J, there's always something that goes wrong like when it's liquor involved or whatever. It's like because the problem was everybody was drunk. He was blaming them for being drunk and they were saying, yo, you drunk, you waving guns and all that.
Starting point is 00:45:13 It depends on the toxicity of the person. It's like, yo, I don't know. It's real funny. It's real funny because with Todd and Candy, I'm sure none of that happened, but that's very different. They had, like, because his daughter was still there and everything, but Candy has said his daughter was there. I mean, he was there earlier, but he probably, you know,
Starting point is 00:45:30 he probably didn't want to stay because that's too new. That's very, very new. But let's open up the phone lines, 800, 585, 105, 1. And I kind of feel like the relationship got to be dead. It got to be what? It got to be dead, meaning there is no more feelings towards each other.
Starting point is 00:45:46 No intimacy on a side or whatever. Because like you said, I'm drinking a little bit. I want you back. I've said it on air. I want you back. You're going to try every opportunity. I'm right here, boo.
Starting point is 00:45:56 I'm right here. I know it's the holidays, but you don't have to do all that. I am right here, boo. This guy is crazy. When did I leave? I didn't even go nowhere. This guy is crazy, bro.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Come on, slow it down. What are you talking about? Slow it down. Oh, my goodness. Call us up right now. 800585-105-1. We're talking compared to. What's wrong with you?
Starting point is 00:46:16 You went crazy just now? You want to get behind me. I'm not cooking macaroni and cheese and all that, huh? Yo, you're all crazy. Crazy. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. That he called my folks.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Tell me, it. It's topic time. Call 8005-8-105-105-1 to join in to the discussion with the breakfast club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. I mean the guy. We are the breakfast club. Now, if you're just joining us, we're talking about
Starting point is 00:46:44 co-parenting during the holidays, especially Thanksgiving that just, the holiday that just passed. And this comes from Ray J. and Princess. You've seen their debacle that happened over the weekend. And also Todd and Candy and their relationship. So we're asking how does co-parenting work? And Jess said, for her, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:47:00 It's fine. It's easy. It's been like this. Easy breezy with Rome for like 11 years now. So, yeah, it's pretty easy. But I will see. First of all, I read from until death do we parent. Okay. It wasn't easy. It was easy. No, no, no, no. No, it's so
Starting point is 00:47:16 easy. No, it's easy now. It's been easy for the past, you know, recent five years or whatever. No, that's because Rome really put me through a lot. So he was very, very toxic. And I started being toxic back, like in return of his toxicity. So, yeah, it took a while. But, yeah, but my parents had divorced like four years ago, right?
Starting point is 00:47:36 They divorced in November. And for Thanksgiving was crazy. Because, my dad was bitter, you know, you know what I'm saying? So my mom, she was there, and then I wanted to invite him, but it got crazy because he was like, he wanted to talk to her. She didn't want to talk to him, so I had to tell my father he couldn't come for Thanksgiving and that hurt him, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, but like you said, he had to get over those feelings.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Once the feelings are out of it, he realizes this relationship is over and I'm not going there to get my wife back and she's not going there to get my husband back or my girl back or man back. Once that's over, then I think you could have. But when those feelings are still there, I'm still going to do everything I possibly can to try to get that back. Yeah. I want to say something. You old, Jess.
Starting point is 00:48:20 So they ain't like... I'm 33. I know, but it ain't like y'all got young kids. So your dad ain't going to never get over your mom. I know. You're not as a little child. I know, I know, but it was just hard. Let's go for the kids. Yeah. Girl, Jack, you're 33. You know, you know what funny thing
Starting point is 00:48:38 What Jeff said, I thought that she was talking about way back. You talked about recently. No, yeah, this is in 2020. Damn. Yeah. Let's go to the phone lines. Hello, who's this? Good morning, y'all.
Starting point is 00:48:48 That's Cotora. Come morning, what's up? Talk to us, Cotora. First of all, hi. I listen to y'all every single morning, unless I don't take my child of school because it's reading. Hi, Jen. Hi, Shalame. Hi, Shalame.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Hi, Gis. Hi, Gitchie, right? That's Gitchie, right? That's Gitchie, yeah. I found my place that to be exact. But I'm calling a reference to your topic. um as far as me and my child father we are not together we have not been together for i want to say like three years now we split the days on holidays um as far as spending a holiday with him that's a
Starting point is 00:49:20 hell no never doing that again but as far as the kid so he can have both of his parents we split the days so my child normally coming to my house on like christmas eve spend the night and then like during the middle of the day he'll go with his daddy on christmas just so he can have both five okay thank you mama thank y'all have a good one Peace. Hello, who's this? That's still fresh. It's your boy, Deng Chef from Ohio.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Is this Damien? Yeah, that's Damien. Why are you going to say Bing Chef? Like, you got to put your gangster there. Damien, Damon, Damon, talk to. This old boo? Envy? No, it's not about a book, shit.
Starting point is 00:49:53 No. Yo. Talk to us, brother. What's up, Tim? Man, it's a touchy subject for me, man. But I say it takes two mature dogs who don't have no extra vendetta. no extra emotional attachment like two people focus on raising that child the best way they can outside of that it ain't going to work if one person got any uh bitterness to the other person
Starting point is 00:50:21 they'll kind of want that person it's not going to work communication and just focusing on that child that's the only way it's going to work outside of that man it's it's a very tough task especially with the way these relationships set up out here man just got to be the best parents you can be All right. Thank you, brother. Yeah. And that's what I was saying. If you're not over the person in the relationship, it's going to be difficult. Yeah, it got to be done.
Starting point is 00:50:44 800-585-105-1. We're asking, how does co-parenting work with for the holidays this year? Do you have to be over somebody? Are you able to go to the holidays and not beef and not have a problem and not try to get that person back? Let's discuss. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:50:59 It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Salomey Nagy. We are the Breakfast Club. If you're just joining us, we're talking about co-parenting. It comes from Ray J. and princess who had a debacle over the weekend for Thanksgiving and also candy and
Starting point is 00:51:11 Todd. Yes, the debacle, boy. You know it. Spell debacle. Spell debacle. D-E-B-A-C-L-E. Don't play with me. I could spell. And be Googling it right now. The crazy part of it, and be Googling it right now to see if you spelled it right. Steep-E-B-A-C-L-E, yes. Yes. I'm not Googling me. Yes, you were.
Starting point is 00:51:29 I don't have my phone with me. You just be making stuff up. I got no goddamn phone with me. But we're asking 800-5-85-105-1. as co-parents are working in your house. Can you make it work? We have Olivia on the line. Olivia, good morning. Hey, DJ.
Starting point is 00:51:43 Hey, breakfast club. How are y'all? Hold on. Who is BJ? She said, hey, DJ. We don't know at this point. I just say, hey, DJ. Whoever the DJ is for the day.
Starting point is 00:51:53 Oh, the DJ. Oh, the DJ. Oh, you're like, God. Damn. Envy's a eat-up. Oh, my God. Olivia, good morning. Talk to us.
Starting point is 00:52:04 Good morning, DJ, Andy. I'm so sorry. So, I have a lot. two models, right? First, my first thing is I try, I warn, and I execute. Um, I try to make it work. I warn that I'm about to put your on, um, child support and then I execute. And if nothing comes out of that, you just have to be nice, honestly. My second thing is like being nice, being kind to the person, um, moving on emotionally, mentally, physically, because when they're feelings attached is when there's bitterness attached. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. I feel you.
Starting point is 00:52:37 Where the child support coming in at? She just said she's going all the way with it. Kimberly. Good morning. Good morning, Kimberly. Where are you calling from? I am calling from Ohio. Ohio.
Starting point is 00:52:47 I see, I got hit by weather pretty bad the last couple of days, huh? Yes, it is snowing today. I am off day now because I am a school teacher. And I'm not calling because of the relationship issue. I'm calling if I can get some type of financial assistance. I am a struggling teacher over here trying to make ends me I'm going to rob Peter
Starting point is 00:53:13 pay Paul and it's just not working out for me Okay If you ain't got no money No I'm not I don't have to be money No no no I said Peter
Starting point is 00:53:24 If you robbing Peter Pay Paul Peter Peter broke too Yeah Well put your cash app out Your cash app out there Can I not do it publicly
Starting point is 00:53:36 this is the radio baby this is publicly you got to but that's why you get it but listen that's how you get the most help you know what I'm saying there that's waiting to give people like you some help and some relief
Starting point is 00:53:50 but if your cash app is your actual government name I can understand that I can't do that for the sake I can't do it public oh man well hold on Eddie yeah somebody somebody take her a cash app you know what I got a soft spot for public school teachers My mother is a public school teacher,
Starting point is 00:54:07 and I know how hard it is for y'all out there, man. Hello, who's this? True from Detroit. Hey, what up, Do? Talk to us about co-parenting. You have to be emotionally intelligent enough to co-parent. That's right. If you don't have the emotional intelligence,
Starting point is 00:54:22 what's going to happen is both of you all will end up this, what's the word I'm looking for, despising each other when that other person comes around. My child's father, all of his girls, friends love them all because that's another person to love my child yeah but if he gets with someone that does it uh you know like have that self that self-esteem to themselves i stay away for majority of the holiday christmas is a gift i'm going to be around my child for christmas thanksgiving you know we could we could split the time 4th of july and all of that
Starting point is 00:54:56 kind of stuff it's like you know that's that doesn't matter but that other person has to be emotionally intelligent enough and that's where we lack as a people. We don't have that emotional intelligence to say, hey, I'm starting to get irritated, never remove myself. Yeah. You stay too long, letting it go too far, and you end up
Starting point is 00:55:15 in arguments, and the kids see everything, and yeah, got to know when to remove yourself, I get it. Right, because personally, I know when, you know, somebody is getting like, you know, trying to be catty or whatever. Baby, you got it. And this is for my child. This is not even for, you know,
Starting point is 00:55:32 me and myself as an 80s baby, I was ready to pop off, and I'm like, okay, what about my child? This is where it's emotional intelligence come in at. They remove myself so my child can continue to have a good time
Starting point is 00:55:42 so that, you know, the person that she sees when she's with her dad, she don't feel any type of way towards them because I feel some type of way towards them. So I know if the other person is a jealous person, I'm going to go ahead and say hello,
Starting point is 00:55:55 how are you all? Grab a plate and I'm going to go. Yeah. All right. Well, thank you, Mama. I like that. What's the whole of the story? Hey, yo, that's probably why Todd left earlier too.
Starting point is 00:56:05 He was like, you know, this is, because they just got divorced. Right. You know what I'm saying? And then I just saw Candy. She was doing something with Bravo, where she was saying, like, she is going through it right now. So they both definitely going through it. So he probably came, you know, showed his face, fellowship with the family and everything like that. And then he left because it's so, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:56:25 That's hard for both of them to sit around family and act like they didn't just get a divorce a week before. Right. So. All right. Well, I don't know the moral. What's the moral? What's the moral? I think what she said is true
Starting point is 00:56:36 I mean I said the same thing earlier You gotta have you know High emotional intelligence to be able to co-parent You know and if you need more morals to that story Jess O'Larious has a book coming out called Tell Deaf Do We Parent Okay which talks about her co-parenting experience With her first baby's father, Rome
Starting point is 00:56:51 Okay, it will be out next year But you can pre-order it now Everywhere you buy books Courtesy of Black Privilege publishing Simon and Schuster Thank you for their show of me And everybody asking me Will I do the audible, the audio version? Yes, with this Baltimore accent
Starting point is 00:57:04 How could I not? And I'm a read. I mean, you don't have to. I'm going to. You read your own books. Wow. Stupid. Wow.
Starting point is 00:57:14 Is the audible coming out the same time or a year later? Yes. Yeah. Oh, okay. All right. What? Hey, yo, not it's going to take me that long to read my book. Oh, you tried in Lord Debakul.
Starting point is 00:57:24 Don't play with me. Stupid. All right. We got the ladies with Laura coming up what we talk about, Lauren. She ain't even in here. Damn. Damn. She probably out there she go.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Oh, there she go. Lauren, I didn't go on the phone. They don't know. This is her life. She on Zoom. She just pried up. They just froze the picture. All right.
Starting point is 00:57:42 We got the latest with Lauren. When we come back, it's the breakfast club good morning. Lauren becoming a straight thing. Tell her. There's a lot of mavericks in that story. We're going to have mavericks on the show. We're going to have plenty of robber barons. So many robber barons. And you know what? They're not all bad. I think Rishie Rice just goes off this week. The Chiefs come on a flip pass to Rice. This side. Touchdown! Remandre Stevens is my sleeper this week.
Starting point is 01:01:05 This is a matchout where I think I can slide in Stevenson into my flex position and he could deliver double-digit points this week. Drake takes the snap, hands it off. Ramonari running it right and running into the end zone. Touchdown! It's never too late to turn your fantasy season around. Starting point is 01:01:27 Michael Lewis here. My book The Big Short tells the story of the buildup and birth of the U.S. housing market back in 2008. It follows a few unlikely, but lucky people who saw the real estate market for the black hole it would become and eventually made billions of dollars from that perception. It was like feeding the monster, said Eisman. We fed the monster until it blew up. The monster was exploding. Yet on the streets of Manhattan, there was no sign anything important had just happened. Now, 15 years after the Big Short's original release, and a decade after, became an Academy Award-winning movie, I've recorded an audiobook edition for the very first time.
Starting point is 01:02:09 The Big Short Story, what it means when people start betting against the market, and who really pays for an unchecked financial system, is as relevant today as it's ever been, offering invaluable insight into the current economy and also today's politics. Get the Big Short now at Pushkin.fm. slash audiobooks, or wherever audiobooks are sold. She gets the details. I'm the home girl that knows a little bit about everything. She'd be having the latest on this. The latest with Lauren La Rosa.
Starting point is 01:02:42 Sometimes you have facts. Sometimes you have details. Sometimes you have a little bit of everything. Well, it's the latest. On the breakfast club. Talk to me. All right, y'all. So there has been another win in court for celebrities versus bloggers in defamation conversations.
Starting point is 01:02:58 So Magdalian won in court. We talked a little bit about this case. Um, she was, uh, coming or suing a blogger by the name of Milo Grams, Malagal Grams, I'm sorry, uh, for defamation. And she was basically, Meg Dasayan was alleging that this blogger was only, you know, posting and, uh, talking negatively about her and it posted like, you know, fake, uh, deep, deep fake porn and just different things, uh, because of the Toray Lane situation. Um, so yesterday in court, the jury awarded Megastayan $75,000 in damages. Um, so it breaks down like this. So it's $15,000 for that. defamation, $8,000 for emotion of distress, $50,000 for the deep fake porn that was posted online and some additional, and $2,000 for punitive damages and emotional distress. Now, under Florida law, they did determine, because there was a conversation in court about whether the blogger is determined media or a media person or not. They did determine that she would be identified as a media defendant.
Starting point is 01:03:56 So because of this, there is a, like, just a process under the Florida law. that you're supposed to send a cease and desist to whatever news outlet, the media person before filing the lawsuit. And because Megan did not do that, the bloggers attorneys are basically saying that she might not be on the hook for the defamation damages. You know what's so crazy about cease and desist
Starting point is 01:04:17 when you send cease and desist? That's simply a warning. Yeah. Right? That you're about to sue. And it lays, if you actually read the cease and desist, it tells you exactly what you're doing wrong.
Starting point is 01:04:27 So if you continue to do it or don't take down what you said, you get sued. So I'm going to be feeling sorry for people in these situations. They don't be hiring no lawyer when they get them cease and desist. They don't even know what the hell they read. Remember, that's what we were talking about, Jewel, Santana. You can read a contract, okay, but not understand what the hell is in it. And I think you have to send a cease and desist before you actually sue.
Starting point is 01:04:46 I think that's part of the protocols. So you give them a chance or opportunity to tell them what they're doing wrong before you going with those. That's right. But that's what I'm saying. So yesterday, well, first of all, I do want to say that also, too, the blogger Milagrograms would be, is potentially going to be held responsible for Meg Desalien's lawyer fees also, but that's still to be determined.
Starting point is 01:05:05 I thought they said that was a given. From what I read yesterday from what's that young lady's name, Megan Canoof? Yeah, so under foot of law, McGuinif. Megan Cuniff. Under for the law, Malagra is also liable for Megan's legal fees, so she could have to pay more,
Starting point is 01:05:20 but the judge is able to determine how much of those fees that she will have to spend or have to pay. But the reason why I brought up that whole media defamation thing was because yesterday Meg DeSalian was going going back and forth, not even back and forth. She posted in response to Megan Cuniff because there was that statement posted by the blogger's attorney saying
Starting point is 01:05:38 basically she won, but she didn't really win because we won't be on the hook for this defamation. But the judge still hasn't ruled on that. So Meg's team had to issue a statement clearing it up and making it clear that that still hasn't been ruled upon and the reason why they did that was because of the conversation we just had about the cease and desist because Megan didn't send it.
Starting point is 01:05:56 But if she's on the hook for those legal fees, Megan was talking about her legal fees we're going to be upward of a million dollars. I saw that she had to pay for legal fees and the judge, the judge hadn't decided even how much, the judge said that she would have to pay more in damages, not just legal fees. Yeah, so the damages conversation
Starting point is 01:06:14 is what I'm talking about with the defamation. So if the judge says, yes, she's liable for defamation, she'll get that full $75,000 that we talked about, and maybe more. But if the judge says no, then it'll be the $59K, but the legal fees is where the big, the rest of that money is going to come from, because Meg is talking about upward of a million dollars.
Starting point is 01:06:31 All you got to do is shut up. That's it. All you got to do is shut up. Yeah, that's the thing. You know, when these people say these defaming things against people, do they have the money to actually pay the lawsuit? So if somebody pays a million dollars and they got to, you know, get the money, garnish the wages, how long is that going to take to get all that money back?
Starting point is 01:06:49 Yeah. I'm not for sure. I think it's the principle, though. I don't think that they're actually trying to get any money. It's just the principle. Like, you're not going to be around here just saying whatever you want about me. And look, for everybody who wants to be in this media space, you've got to understand that there is consequences for your actions.
Starting point is 01:07:04 You can't do what you want. You can't say what you want. Okay, I know y'all don't want to hear that, all right? I know that you're not under FCC rules and regulations, but there still is, you know, consequences in the court of law. As you've seen, over and oh, I ain't seen a blogger win nothing yet. No, not old. But also, you got to have somebody that don't give a F, right?
Starting point is 01:07:21 Because I know I'm going to spend that million dollars, and I know I'm probably not going to give it back, but it's worth it to that individual to just say, I'm going to eff off that million dollars. Some people got the time and some people, you know, got the money. But on the other side, too, I mean, and this is going to sound really crazy. But on the other side, you might have, and I'm not saying this about this one blogger, but you might have people who don't care about having to be held responsible for this money
Starting point is 01:07:42 because they're going to run off and not pay it. But now everyone's talking about them. And it kind of puts them like, there are people who are like that as well too. And that's probably what this blogger thought because other people that we've seen bloggers or whatever who don't even deserve for nobody to say their name on this platform. right here, they get sued and they act like they don't care, you know what I'm saying? So, like, if another blogger sees that
Starting point is 01:08:03 there's no real consequence for another blogger being sued and nothing comes of it, then they're going to think the same thing for that. Well, I want to say this, right? You can feel that way, but if you can't pay a lawsuit settlement, then the other party can legally enforce the judgment of garnet. I don't know about no jail, but garnishing
Starting point is 01:08:19 your wages. Correct. They'll seize your bank accounts. They'll put liens on your property. Like, who got time for all of that? You might start getting assets taken away from you Like who got time for all of that You're being debt You got damage to your credit
Starting point is 01:08:33 Who cares about You want all that just for a lot I don't know about no If you evade not paying people Can you go to jail? Can you evade not paying people back And all that? I never heard that
Starting point is 01:08:42 I think you just get everything Taking away from you though Like everything Asset seizure Yeah Like I don't think it's jail I think you just get everything taken away Because once that credit that can take
Starting point is 01:08:52 Complete control of your assets You know what I mean Bank accounts personal property gone Like who got time for that just because you want to spread a lie for engagement? And then this all is, and then this is all pride. Like, it's pride. Because if you get a cease and desist, yo,
Starting point is 01:09:02 and you just take it down, it's pride and it's ego. She didn't get one in this case, though. Oh, you're saying she didn't. My bad, my bad, my bad. She didn't get one. Okay. And that's why I was having the whole conversation
Starting point is 01:09:12 about what she's going to be liable for, but that still hasn't been ruled upon, so there will be more. But yeah, she didn't get one in this case. But in other court news. The young lady's pretty, by the way. Malaga? Yeah, she is.
Starting point is 01:09:22 She is. Oh, let me, speaking of just pretty. She could be doing a lot more. I was about to say, I feel like both of them did, the way that they both looked so good showing up the court. And I know that that probably doesn't matter in this. But they both, but Meg DeSahian and her looked amazing coming into court every single day. So, yeah. I know Meg posted her outfits yesterday, like all of her suits and her looks that she was wearing.
Starting point is 01:09:43 But, yeah, y'all don't care about the outfits, huh? Cute. All right, yeah. But in other court news, as we wrap yesterday, Todd Tucker, estranged, now estranged, husband of Candy Burrs from Real Housewives of Atlanta. he filed a response to her divorce filing and he's asking for primary custody of their two children so you guys know that he has his
Starting point is 01:10:04 he has children outside of candy but they share two children together and basically what is saying in the petition is that the two children that they share are in his custody not his custody but in his care majority of the time because candy travels a lot for work so he's asking to be
Starting point is 01:10:21 for primary custody of the children and this did not He says that they work well together as parents, and he's not calling her a bad parent. But, of course, this didn't help hit well at all with people because people were like, why would you, like, why would she not, you know what I mean? Be also determined for custody of her child, children.
Starting point is 01:10:38 Yeah. I mean, I get, I get what he's saying, though, you know, she. And what if that's an agreement that they both make because candy is so busy. You know what I'm saying? So what, you know. Yeah. So, yeah, he's also pushing back on some stuff with the pre-nup as well, too.
Starting point is 01:10:50 But I know we got a wrap, so we'll wrap here. All right. Well, thank you. latest with Lauren. Solomon, who you give him that donkey, too? Well, speaking of pushing back, what happens when you get your hairline pushbacked? We'll discuss when we come back.
Starting point is 01:11:03 We'll get to that next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Make sure you tell him to watch out for Florida, man. The craziest people in America come from the Bronx in all of Florida. Yes, you are a donkey. The Florida man attacked an ATM for a very strange reason. It gave him too much money.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Florida man is arrested after Deputy. Today, he rigged the door to his home in an attempt to electrocate his pregnant wife. Police arrested an Orlando man for attacking a flamingo. The Breakfast Club, bitchy. Donkey of the day with Charleney the guy. I don't know why y'all keep letting him get you all like this. No, little Duval, it's not me. It's Florida.
Starting point is 01:11:38 Okay, donkey here today for Tuesday, December 2nd, goes to a 48-year-old Florida man named Darius Davis. Okay, Darius Davis is from Miami-Dade, Florida. Okay, drop on the clues bomb from Miami-Dade. All right. What does your uncle, Shala, always say about the great stuff? state of Florida. Say it with me. The craziest people in America come from the Bronx and all of Florida. And today is no exception. Okay. Salute to every black man out there who still has a hairline. All right. God bless you all. I remember those days of having one. And what bothers
Starting point is 01:12:09 me the most is I feel like I got cheated because back in the day I got my wig pushed back by a whack barber. Okay. You know one of those barbers trying to get that line sharp. But in the process of them trying to get it sharp, they just keep pushing your headline back further and further. Okay, I really feel like that got me started on the path to baldness. Okay, that barber snatched my edges, all right? My hairline never fully recovered from the barber pushing my hairline back, okay? Every black man out there knows the pain of getting your hairline pushed back. And then finally, at some point, you just say, F it, cut it all off.
Starting point is 01:12:44 Okay, we were forced to go bald because a barber pushed our hairlines back, all right? Hashtag tragic. Now, Darius did something that a lot of men dream about doing when their hair, hairline gets pushed back. And that's something, is violence. What do you mean, violence, Uncle Charlotte? Well, let's go to Local 10 News for the report, please. Darius Davis is in jail once again after police spent a few days looking for him,
Starting point is 01:13:07 following a violent encounter at a barbershop. Security video from that day shows Davis walking back into Square Biz with a gun and threatening the owner, Samuel Wilson. Wilson says, you know, my, my, man. Wilson says this was all over an issue with Davis's hairline. The barber says he's been doing Davis's hair for a while and never had an issue before. He wasn't a man until he had that pistol in his hand. Slap me in the head with it choke me out.
Starting point is 01:13:33 You got it. In the video, you can see Davis force Wilson to the couch and hit him with the gun. Newly obtained arrest forms for Davis show police took him into custody a few days later after a traffic stop. The 48-year-old was booked into jail before appearing in Bond Court over the weekend multiple times. I did not think he was going to come around here and come back. I thought we might have fist a cuff, but I didn't think he was going to come back with a firearm. I told him, man, have a good day.
Starting point is 01:14:02 The Davis is facing several charges. The judge set his bond at about $35,000 has since posted it. First of all, before we continue the story, I want to say sleuth to all the barbers out there, dropping the clues bombs for every barber that can hear my voice. Barbers are pillars in the black community. My brothers, when you really put it in perspective, there aren't too many people more important to the black community, all right?
Starting point is 01:14:25 Some of y'all don't go to church, but you go to a barbers shop at least twice a week. All right? So the barber more than your pastor, all right? Some of y'all see your barber more than you see your doctor, which is a good thing because I guess you're healthy. But once again, your barber is more important to you than your doctor. Hell, some folks wouldn't even want to go to the doctor without a haircut. All right? The moral of the story is we're going to stop acting like barbers aren't a part of our circle of life.
Starting point is 01:14:47 For me, a spiritual leaders, therapists, barbers, doctor, dermatologist, personal trainer. Okay, what is the moral of the story? The moral of the story is barbers should be given the utmost respect at all times. Unless, and there isn't unless, unless they are a terrible barber. Okay, no barber deserves violence unless, of course, they are terrible. But even if they are terrible, even if there is a barber malpractice, they don't deserve to get a gun pulled on them, all right? There's levels to violence.
Starting point is 01:15:13 Don't like your fade, then ask for a fade, all right? But pulling a gun, that's too much, all right? Actually asking for a fist fight or fisticups is too much. Okay, you can just say he sucks. That's worse than actually pulling a gun on someone or fighting them because nobody wants to be the barber in the shop that nobody goes to. That is one of the most lonely men in the world. You hear me?
Starting point is 01:15:34 Okay, and they always fat because they have nothing else to do but sit there and eat while everybody else on their feet all day because they got actual clients, all right? Now, for the record, most people wouldn't react to having their headline push back in this way, but you always have to know who you plan with. Darius is a convicted felon, all right? And he is a known violent offender. He had an armed robbery charge in 93 and 98, and burglary with assault in 98.
Starting point is 01:15:59 He did prison time from 99 to 2004 and from 2006 to 2017. So clearly, Darius about all that action. Okay. So anything can set him off. And I don't think people understand what not having a hairline does to some men. It can trigger violence, all right? Some men don't have their head for a baldy. And the thought of them having to get one is,
Starting point is 01:16:22 infuriating. I thank God he gave me the kind of skull that looks cool with a balddy, okay, because everyone can't do it, and they know it. Everybody doesn't want to wear the man unit, okay? Everybody doesn't want to do the paint it on hairlines, but they also know how ridiculous they
Starting point is 01:16:38 could look with a baldy. Think about, you know, how we had to get used to seeing Steve Harvey with a baldy. Took some time for us to adjust, right? Right? Remember Miguel? Army singer Miguel when he first came out with a baldy, looked Ridiculous, okay?
Starting point is 01:16:54 LeBron James couldn't have a baldy, okay? I could tell by his head shape. Yet another reason he will never be Michael Jordan, okay? Who are some other people who look ridiculous with a baldy, Jess? What you think? Cynthia Arriva. Damn. Okay, first of all, I'm talking about men, Jess.
Starting point is 01:17:10 What the hell? Cynthia Arriva. All right, anyway, I don't know how you've been asked you. The moral of the stories. When the only thing sharper than the clip is your temple, trim the attitude, not the argument. Okay, please give Darius Davis the sweet sounds of the hamletones. Oh, now you are the donkey of the day.
Starting point is 01:17:33 You are the donkey of the day, y'all. Yes, indeed. Oh, that's crazy. Oh, Miguel head was crazy with the day. Go back and look at Miguel when he first came out with a ball head. And he did it in the reverse. Usually people start with him and then go bald. Miguel started off ball.
Starting point is 01:17:59 Go back and look, y'all don't remember Miguel when you first came out? Definitely. You don't remember Miguel when you first came out and he had the ball and head? Yeah. That was different. That was all I want is you, Miguel. You're playing the dawn. He had hair by it, don't.
Starting point is 01:18:13 Yeah, no, that was the... Yeah, that's when he was born. Oh, wow. Yeah. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Getting real eggy around with you. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:25 Yeah. Wow. All right. Damn. All right. Well, thank you for that donkey today, sir. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:18:31 you said one too many dams when looking at a man. Right. You looked at that man. You looked at Miguel for 30 seconds and said seven dams. They ain't need no seven dams. Because there's a bunch of different pictures. All right. Anyway,
Starting point is 01:18:43 thank you for that donkey today, sir. Yes, ma. Yes, ma. Guys crazy. All right. We come back. We have Leslie Gordon and Zach Hall joining us. They're from the Food Bank of New York City. They feed 50
Starting point is 01:18:56 million meals. They're trying to feed 50 million meals. One dollar. If you donate, one dollar, it feeds up to five people and today is giving Tuesday. So they need help. They need not just money. If you want to come down, if you want to help out and you want to pitch in, we'll talk to them next. It's the breakfast
Starting point is 01:19:12 club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ NV. Just hilarious. Shalameen the Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Lawn Lawn LaRose is here as well. We got some special guests in the building. Yes, indeed. We have Leslie Gordon and Zach Hall. Welcome.
Starting point is 01:19:29 How are you feeling this morning? What's up? How are we doing? From the Food Bank of New York City? Yes. Nobody does better work, you know, in regards to helping people that are food and secured in the Food Bank of New York City, man. Amen. And you know, y'all have your 50 million meals campaign. Tell us what that is.
Starting point is 01:19:44 Yeah, so look, here in New York City, about 20% of our neighbors, almost every street, every borough, struggle with knowing when their next meal is coming from, what it's going to be. You know, if you don't have enough food, it becomes like your every minute, every moment, where's it going to come from, what's it going to be,
Starting point is 01:20:02 how am I going to feed my family? And so we're on a role. We're on a mission. We're on a campaign. We want to make sure we raise 50 million meals by the end of this calendar year. Wow. And you've been great, right?
Starting point is 01:20:14 Thank you for being in it to win it with us. um thank you for helping people to understand and appreciate the nature of not having enough looks like that's right what is the biggest misconception and i want both you all to answer this what's the biggest misconception people have about who is food insecure and why well i always you know want to tell people that it's not the homeless man on the street right these are folks that are you see every day these folks that are in your building working on uh jobs all across the city that They're just trying to make ends meet. The cost of living in New York City is so high that, like Leslie said, it's 20% in New York City.
Starting point is 01:20:51 That's a million and 300,000 people, which is a good-sized American city, right? So these are folks that are trying to get their kids to school, trying to make sure mom and dad in retirement aren't struggling to afford the medications that they need. And we just need, you know, a kind of citywide effort to make sure we can feed our neighbors. One thing I saw, especially during the government shutdown, you know, actual federal workers. coming to the food bank. These aren't people on SNAP benefits. These aren't people on any type of welfare. They just couldn't make ends meet because they weren't getting any
Starting point is 01:21:22 paychecks. But they had to go to the food bank. Yeah, you know, here in America, they say most people are about one paycheck away from finding themselves standing on a pantry line, going to a community kitchen to get a hot meal. We had this incredible couple, you know, come visit us in Queens. They said, you know, we haven't
Starting point is 01:21:41 been on a pantry line since the last government shut down 2018 2019. Our daughter has a scholarship at Cornell. She's coming at home. We need to be able to gather around the table for Thanksgiving, just like any other family. And so we need the food. The amazing thing about it is that there's such an incredible spirit of gratitude, right? We're in that season of gratitude. And so the same couple who stood on the line, they took their groceries home. The guy comes back about half an hour later. Our team's out on the ground like they normally are and thought he forgot something. Maybe he needs something else. And he said, no, I'm going to roll
Starting point is 01:22:18 up my sleeves. I'm here to help. Put me to work. What can I do? Wow. Yeah. It's incredible. How did the government shutdown impact your operations, like to provide the food? Yeah, I mean, we're made for moments like this. At Food Bank for New York City, we've got such an incredible team, and we've got, you know, great ambassadors like all of you and Charlemagne here. And so that when the demand rises, we rise right along with it to make sure New Yorkers have what they need. But if I'm being really honest, that's where we need people to stand shoulder to shoulder with us, right? We need them to be in it with us 365 days a year. That's the thing. Hunger doesn't take a holiday, right?
Starting point is 01:23:03 We tend to have these conversations around the holidays, Christmas, Thanksgiving. You know, people are hungry all year long. And everybody can find them. themselves on our journey, right? That's what's really special, speaking as objectively as I can, about what we do at Food Bank for New York City, right? And, you know, the shutdown you mentioned that, you know, SNAP benefits were halted for the first time in history, right? So we had two weeks of folks just not getting the food they need to get to get by. And that saw a surge in demand at our pantries across the city. And that's something that we don't want to repeat.
Starting point is 01:23:38 you know this folks shouldn't be punished for for politics and this is about people not about partisanship it would make sure that folks in America are being fed and having most snap recipients are tax paying working families but they're just they weren't getting their benefits so we want to make sure that that doesn't happen again fortunately you know the the government was being funded through September 30th the next year thank God but you know shutdowns really really impact people way more than just workers not showing up to It's about lots of systems being impacted. It's about affordability.
Starting point is 01:24:12 I mean, let's just be really honest, right? I was going to ask, how frustrating is it for you guys because you're really on the ground, seeing these people and these families when you see headlines and politicians making it about Republican, Democrat. Like, it's a different experience for you as you're meeting these families, right?
Starting point is 01:24:29 So, like, what's that experience and talking to those people as they're watching that happen? Yeah, go ahead. I think it's just basic needs, right? Like, everybody eats. So we want to make sure that that's a, of a fundamental, you know, kind of a condition of survival in this country and in the city.
Starting point is 01:24:44 This isn't about an urban or a suburban or a rural issue. Hungary affects everybody across the country and the shutdown threw that into, you know, stark relief, right? Like so all of a sudden, 42 million people in the country didn't have SNAP benefits. And the politics of it is not apparent for us. We're serving households that have come to us no matter any type of political personal. persuasion, and we're here to serve everybody. And, you know, it is frustrating that our elected leaders can't get along and figure this out, and that's something that we always push for.
Starting point is 01:25:17 Like, you know, policy means that people are impacted. And how can we come together, you know, party set aside and just move the country forward? What policy or systemic change would make the single biggest impact right now in regards to keeping hunger from rising? Yeah, I mean, wages. That's always a big thing, right? The cost of living all across the country, and especially right here in New York City, is far outpaced wage increases. You know what we know, here's, check this out for a minute. So if you live in New York City, what we know is that you
Starting point is 01:25:54 need to make a minimum of $100,000 just to make ends meet, right? Rent eats first, I constantly say. So after you've paid the light bill, after you've paid for rent, right, transportation, gas in the car, shoes for your kids, all of that, there isn't a whole lot left, right? And so we need to work on wages, housing, right? We all talk about housing a lot. That's a very serious issue. It's really hard to live your best life when you don't really know. I'm Stefan Curry, and this is gentleman's cut. I think what makes gentlemen's cut different is me being a part of, you know, developing the profile of this beautiful finished product. It's a very simple, elegant lesson. Make something people want. First episode, how Southwest Airlines use cheap seats and free whiskey to fight its way into the airline business.
Starting point is 01:27:31 The most Texas story ever. There's a lot of mavericks in that story. We're going to have mavericks on the show. We're going to have plenty of robber barons. So many robber barons. And you know what? They're not all bad. And we'll talk about some of the classic great moments of famous business geniuses,

Lines and Tines with Spencer Graves on the IHart radio app is a podcast designed for hunters and fishermen to enjoy success. I like the idea of like, hey, put me on a big deer. You know, hey, there's a big deer out here.
Starting point is 01:28:12 He's doing this. Be looking for this deer. But I also love doing it on my own. I love going out there and saying running my cameras. I love patterning in the deer. I like showing up at the right time, checking the wind, knowing what stand I need to be in. And then whenever it all comes together and it happens, that's the most satisfying thing every so when you do it on your own it's like i then can hang my hat but if i had somebody say hey
Starting point is 01:28:37 pull up on these dots and catch them right here and you're going to win and then when i go in it's like yeah that's cool i won the tournament the ultimate goal is done but it's like dude when you find them and you make them bike that's the puzzle i love it listen to lines and tines with spencer graves on the ihar radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts Hey, y'all, it's me, your man, M.G. Starting point is 01:29:35 The Chiefs come on a flip pass to Rice. This side. Touchdown! Remandre Stevens is my sleeper this week. This is a match-out where I think I can slide in Stevenson into my flex position and he could deliver double-digit points this week. Drake takes the snap, hands it off. Remodry running it right and running into the end zone. Touchdown! It's never too late to turn your fantasy season around. Subscribe to the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Atlanta is a spirit. It's not just a city.
Starting point is 01:30:06 I didn't really have an interest of being on air. I kind of was up there to just try and infiltrate the building. It's where Kronk was born in a club in the West End. Full World Star, it was 559. Where a tiny bar birthed a generation of rap stars, where preachers go viral, and students at the HBCU turned heartbreak into resurrection. How do you get people to believe in something that's dead?
Starting point is 01:30:28 Where Dreamers brought Hollywood to the south And hustlers bring their visions to create black wealth Nobody's rushing into relationships with you Where are you from? They want to look in the eye Where the future is nostalgia Talk to Machet, GPD She's like, you really did first lady To have a gayfrey girl's tape in Atlanta, Georgia
Starting point is 01:30:44 Like that's what separates you from a lot of people And I was like, oh what, you're right Atlanta doesn't wait for permission It builds its own spotlight Um Big Rue Let us guide you through the stories behind Atlanta's most iconic moments listen to Atlanta is on the I Heart Radio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast
Starting point is 01:31:03 Where you're going to live Or it's taking up a big chunk of your salary We've got to come together and fix it You guys are providing on a large scale There's a lot of people that y'all are getting food to How do you ensure that the families are being fed quality meals? This is one of my favorite parts Because we have dietitians on staff
Starting point is 01:31:22 So they work with our procurement team To make sure we're bringing in balanced meals you know, that are culturally relevant, but also, you know, whole and mentally processed foods. And I've heard you talk before about nutrition, such an important component of, you know, overall health. And we're going to make sure that, you know, we're not reinforcing some of the, you know, chronic health conditions that are plagued by so many communities who are also food insecure. It's like a double-edged coin where you're food insecure and you have diabetes or hypertension or cancer or heart disease. You're sick. yeah then you got to take off work to go to the doctor and you lose your job because you can't get
Starting point is 01:32:01 to work because you're sick and you're out at the doctor too much it ends up being a vicious cycle and a loop that people find themselves in it's it's pretty crazy nutritious food's really important to us in addition to getting food that helps you feel seen and that feels like home you know what's interesting is I think about kids in the Bronx we saw you out over the summer in the Bronx, do you know that there are kids in our own city who have never had a blueberry? So, you know, what's interesting is, is it, as a parent, when you have limited resources, you can't afford to make a mistake. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 01:32:38 Right? And so you've got to choose stuff that you know that your kids are going to eat. What if they've never had a blueberry before, and you don't know if they're going to eat it. They're not cheap. It's not cheap. And so that's also part of what we do is health. introduce everyone in New York City, especially kids, to new and different foods that, you know, mom and dad can't afford to make a mistake on, but we're going to make sure that they know what
Starting point is 01:33:03 a blueberry is all about. And we've been making really amazing strides towards that end. You know, about 40% of our food that goes out the door is produce or lean protein, like really making sure that that's a well-rounded, balanced plate of food for families. Everything that's, and you've got to come see, right? Here's my personal invitation this morning, because it's, I think it's quite fascinating. The magical dance that happens behind the scenes in our incredible facility in the Hans Point section
Starting point is 01:33:30 in the South Bronx every day to make sure that there's food on the plate tonight for a New Yorker. It's just hats off to our team that picks it up, puts it down, moves it around with such an incredible heartfelt spirit every single day.
Starting point is 01:33:47 Yes, produce, I would say anything you find in a grocery store is what you're going to find in our inventory. And we're serious. So no cakes, pies, cookies, sugary drinks, that's not what's in our facility. Now, I've had some good cookies at the food bank, the one in Harlem.
Starting point is 01:34:03 Oh, so listen. Listen, listen, listen. So she's no joke, right? It's the ginger peach tea. It's those, I call them, her slamming chocolate chip cookies, right? Everybody deserves a treat. We are definitely not the food police. I feel you on that.
Starting point is 01:34:20 So, yes, we've got this amazing Harlem kitchen right off of Frederick Douglass Boulevard. We've been there for a lot of years. Chef Sherry and her team spins out nearly 500 hot meals a day with love. And, yeah, those cookies, they're no joke. I feel like that, you know, the food bank for NYC, that's what I love about y'all the most, the passion that y'all actually have. It doesn't feel like, you know, y'all are just doing something for the sake of doing it. It's like everybody there is intentional about the mission.
Starting point is 01:34:50 I feel that way. Yeah, I mean, I have people on my team have been doing this for 20, 25 years. And so it's, you know, folks that come into the line of business, stay at the organization because we love our people and stick around and grow and develop. I've been at the food bank for 17 years myself. Wow. Started as a temp. And, you know, kind of came into this and, you know, unless he's been doing this for, for decades as well. So we have, it is passion.
Starting point is 01:35:15 I mean, feeding people, it's basic needs, man. you give somebody a bag looking in their eye and understand that they're going to be better off because of that. That's not enough, right? That's not enough
Starting point is 01:35:24 to get people whole. But, you know, it's something that is a tribute to the staff that we have a food bank and take it very, very seriously. Let me ask you a question. What's one story
Starting point is 01:35:34 that reminds you why this mission still matters and keeps you motivated? It's an interesting story because it's not always about food, right? So we have about 60 or so
Starting point is 01:35:47 a kid at 12 pantries So pantries at schools, elementary middle of high schools And, you know, with generous funding from city council and other funders, we've been able to do this For, you know, going on 15 years. And part of the Distribution that some of our pantries includes
Starting point is 01:36:05 all the food we've been talking about But also, like, some basic needs like hygiene supplies, laundry detergents, soap, shampoo, those types of things. Deodorant. And there's this one, I was visiting one of these schools, PS30 and, in the Bronx and just asking the parent corner how's it going
Starting point is 01:36:21 she says oh you know like I didn't realize this but this panches had like these other amazing effects there's one kid in our class David he was shy never really participating middle schooler and after his family started going to the pantry he started being more and more involved in class participating raising his hand it was because he got deodor
Starting point is 01:36:44 and he was concerned that raising his hand in class we have all been in middle school man that's a tough time you don't be called out as a kid who could be a little funky so by going to the class he's getting not only meals
Starting point is 01:36:59 been basic needs but stuff that prepares him to be a better learner essential right and like that's that's a incredible story of just like how that whole household view
Starting point is 01:37:12 can get kids in a better place to be them better self and she you know She was almost in tears telling me how impactful this was for them in their school. You know, so remember the deal, remember, raise your hands if you're sure. Yeah. He was unsure. Right, right.
Starting point is 01:37:26 That was a very, that was a very effective commercial. Now, today is giving Tuesday. How would you want people to go about giving? Is it money? Is it financial? Is it work? Is it all of the above? It's all the above.
Starting point is 01:37:38 Money is, uh, the, the benefit for us is, is the most powerful way that we can, we can put investments back into our work in our community. So go to Food Bank, NYC.org, click on Donate and learn how you can give. No, no gift is too big, no gift is too small. But really, that keeps the engines purring across the street delivering all the food that we do.
Starting point is 01:38:00 It's, you know, it's each one, reach one, right? Everybody can find themselves on our journey to empower all New Yorkers for good. And so, yeah, visit us at Food Bank, NYC.org. Let's make sure that we're helping to fuel better days ahead for all of our New Yorkers.
Starting point is 01:38:20 Absolutely. Leslie Gordon, Zach Hall, thank you so much for joining us this morning. Appreciate you. You go out and you give a little bit. Give what you can this morning. And thank you so much. Appreciate you guys.
Starting point is 01:38:28 Thank you. All right. It's the breakfast club. Good morning. Lauren becomes a straight guy. She gets them from somebody that knows somebody. She gets to detail. I'm the home girl that knows a little bit about everything.
Starting point is 01:38:40 She'd be having the latest on this. The latest with Lauren La Rosa. facts sometimes you have details sometimes you have a little bit everything well it's the latest on the breakfast club talk to me so michelle williams was on her podcast uh checking in with michel williams that you can listen to on the black effect podcast network available everywhere you listen to podcast one of the best podcasts in the business period clock it um yes so she was uh on her podcast and she was talking about her recent experience at the boy is mine tour which kelly posted by the way she's it seemed like she surprised kelly let's take a listen i got wind that my sister
Starting point is 01:39:16 Sister, Calendria Trinay Rowland, was in Washington, D.C. The Boy is Mind Tour made a stop in Washington, D.C. A few people said that she made tweaks to her show. Beyonce came on in. Let me tell you something about that, Beyonce Giselle. Beyonce comes to something and she sees something. She's going to make some suggestions. I love it.
Starting point is 01:39:41 Kelly's show, the news that I'm hearing, Kelly's show was the bomb. And then when Sister Carter came on in, now you're seeing something else amazing. So that's pretty cool. Kelly and B, they're like, girl, Michelle, if you ever, you better pick up. Matter of fact, they're like, we better be the first person at each other calls. If there's something in the capacity in which I know you can do something, call me. Love it. I will say when we went to go see Kelly, we saw Kelly at the Brandy and Monica show, she did great.
Starting point is 01:40:16 Like, she ate down. I thought so, too. I don't know what the tweaks were, but she killed it before. I'm pretty sure it's even more solid after. Yeah, there was a photo of Jay-Z and Beyonce, like, sitting in the stands, and people were trying to figure out if that meant Beyonce was helping with show production or whatever for Kelly set. So this kind of, like, gives you a look into that. And also, Michelle.
Starting point is 01:40:35 Damn, she couldn't just be coming to the show. What if she, like, Brandy Monica? And obviously, Kelly is our sister, but, like, she's been on a lot of the show days. I mean, I think they do just come just as support. But because they were, they were, like, sitting kind of, like, in a role. rehearsal type of vibe. So people were trying to figure out what that meant, meant.
Starting point is 01:40:50 So, you know. What y'all want, Beyonce and Jay is to be sitting in the crowd? Eat the bop on. No, because on the other show dates, you see them enjoying the show, but in this particular photo, it's like, it's obvious that they're there doing rehearsals. So people were trying to figure out what it was given.
Starting point is 01:41:05 Like, if I'm performing, I want somebody to say, hey, I like this, I don't like this. Shouldn't we do that as families? A hundred percent. Yeah, I'm not saying the same thing wrong with. I'm just saying the fans were trying to connect the dots and Michelle might have just did it for us. But Michelle Obama was also at that DC show
Starting point is 01:41:20 And she posted a photo with Brandon Monica And she said to Brandy And she also took one with Kelly as well She said to Brandy Monica, Kelly, Maya And the entire crew Because Maya did, you know, permanently now Replace Money Law on the tour She says, you all did your thing last night in D.C.
Starting point is 01:41:36 Such a beautiful evening of love and sisterhood Thank you for sharing the gifts with all of us You make me so proud to be a black woman in America I will see you all soon. So great night at the boy is mine tour. Two Michelle's with great podcasts, by the way. Michelle Obama's podcast and Michelle Williams. Starting point is 01:41:54 Podcast Network. Yes, my podcast cousin. Flex Washington is talking about that Michael Jackson movie that everybody brings up. Because he should have been the one that did it. Yeah, Flex Washington. It's Flex Alexander. Sorry. Oh, right.
Starting point is 01:42:09 That was the show. I thought, me too. You're like, who hell is that, too? I was like, what? That was the show. I thought it was his actual last name, too. But yeah, so Flex Alexander. Y'all had me thinking he got married and took somebody last name?
Starting point is 01:42:19 Who the hell is Flex Washington? See how TV resonates with the younger generation? Because I really thought that was his real name. But he, so he sat down with Art of Dialogue, and he was talking about that Michael Jackson movie when he played Michael Jackson. Let's take a listen. I really thought it was going to be like this joint coming out.
Starting point is 01:42:33 But we did performances. I did manning men, performances, the songs. I'm thinking like, yes. Then they came to me, you know, the lawyers. Yeah, we can't use the music. And it just lost something. And then we'll talk about the makeup. They have this airbrush and they brush in it to test it.
Starting point is 01:42:49 And I'm looking at it. I'm just like, you can't get it a little smoother, a little darker, a little something. And they wanted to put a prosthetic nose on me as well. I was like, I'm not doing that. So we go on and we shoot it. Then I just started thinking about it, and I looked, and I was like, it is kind of bad.
Starting point is 01:43:04 I do look kind. When it was so bad, the wig was sticking out, with the back, it was so bad. I watched a little bit on YouTube. I was like, holy shit. And then he didn't, He made comments about it. He was upset, but he never said anything, you know, about me or my performance.
Starting point is 01:43:20 It was the allegations and the stuff that was going on at the time that he was upset. It's like, why do we have to keep talking about this? First, Flex, I love you, my brother. Okay, but there's no way that you read the script and saw the budget of that film and thought it was going to be like the one that we bought to get now. I wonder how they got paid, though. But back in the day, he proudly thought, like, yo. There's no way.
Starting point is 01:43:43 They come to me. They could go to anybody. else they're coming to me flex Anderson I bet you Michael Jackson wasn't involved in that movie I bet you estate wasn't involved in that movie like no there's no way that you looked at that script and thought hey man this is about to be a big blockbuster
Starting point is 01:43:57 who is like who is day though who did it did we ever find out who did the movie I don't know who produced that one yeah who produced it alone reach out why we want to ask some I don't think there's much to talk about it wasn't they a part in the script and instead of saying he he went ha ha ha no I don't I don't know how
Starting point is 01:44:15 much he was paid. I see some reports, but it's not from like any ballot sources. I don't know if we want to get it. Damn, man. I just want to know who did it. Well, yeah. I don't know. Damn. But he's recollecting I can't even get it out. He's recollecting on that.
Starting point is 01:44:30 Recall what? He's recollecting? Okay. That's a word. Okay. Look it up. I didn't know. Recollecting is a word. Continue on. Don't let them stop you. Okay. All right. Okay. Now finally, I wanted to bring back this clip and I know people was when I told people that Revolt and Dame Dash wasn't a thing,
Starting point is 01:44:48 but I'm about to blow up a spot again. Y'all remember when Dame Dash said on the Breakfast Club that the Diddy Doc wasn't coming? I got the audio. Do you remember when 50 Cent was supposed to be putting out a documentary about Puff on Netflix? Yes. Where is it?
Starting point is 01:45:03 I think it's still happening. Yeah, right. He's capping. Do you remember when Dame Dash came on Breakfast Club and said 50 was capping about the Diddy documentary? That's the conversation. Yes, absolutely. I just want to point out that Dame was wrong.
Starting point is 01:45:15 I watched it. It's there. That's it. Okay. Are you sure you watched it? Is it on? Envy, I fell asleep at 3.30 in the morning. Just making sure.
Starting point is 01:45:23 Hey, I just want to be petty for a second. We had that right. Just a few months ago, there was a man named Dame Dash who came on this show. I know that interview. He said that 50 was capping about putting out a ditty documentary. So, you know, he was right. 50 was right. 50 put out his ditty documentary.
Starting point is 01:45:39 So why should we listen to Dame about not putting out the paid a full documentary? That's all I'm saying. He said he changed your life. when he had that conversation about being bossed. That's not true. He also said he was the chairman of the revolt.
Starting point is 01:45:49 That wasn't true either. But what are we talking about? Y'all go ahead. Y'all keep listening Dane Dash if y'all want. Yeah, Dame. Shalute the Dame. Salute the Dame.
Starting point is 01:45:58 Dame. Cap, cap, cap, cap, cap. I'm surprised you don't have a petty party. I mean, no. I just want y'all to know that debt dash was wrong. That's all.
Starting point is 01:46:07 That's all I'm saying. Okay. That's all I'm saying. All right. Well, that is the latest with Lord. By the way, recollecting comes up on Google. Man, how's you know it?
Starting point is 01:46:16 Hey, yo. I got you. Now, has Dame said anything about the 50 documentary? I went to look. I didn't see it. I didn't see it. I'm sure he will today. He'll wake up and watch it.
Starting point is 01:46:26 I'm sure he will today. It would be very honorable, Dame, to admit that she was wrong, okay? It came on that. You was wrong about quite a few things in that conversation that we had, but it would be okay to admit this one. Yeah, no, he'll show you his view today, and he'll say that it's a opportunity, right? Damn. you today. All right. Well, that's the latest with Lauren. When we come back, we got the mix. It's the people's choice
