Starting point is 00:03:00 I love Terry, but no, I don't think he's a legend. Damn. Let me show you, I get what you're saying, there's level to legends, right? Yeah, level, okay. Name Lawrence Fishburne. Right, yeah, right, right. Old Vivica Fox. Right, old get what you're saying is leveled a legend. It'll be in Atlanta August 22nd to the 24th at the Georgia World Congress Center. That's right. Yeah, so we'll kick it with them. And let's get the show cracking. We got front page news, lot to break down, so don't go anywhere.
Starting point is 00:04:44 It's the Breakfast club. Good morning. Everybody is DJ NV Jess Hilarious. Shalemane the guy. We are the breakfast club. Let's get in some front page news. Good morning, Morgan. Good morning. Good morning. How we feeling on a Wednesday? Bless black and highly favored. All right. Love to hear it. All right. So yesterday there is no damage being reported after a tsunami wave hit Hawaiian islands. Now a massive 8.8 earthquake off the coast of Russia triggered Tsunami warnings on Tuesday night in Hawaii, Alaska and along the west coast. Hawaii saw four-foot waves that pushed some boats onto dry land but no further damage than that. Now Hawaiian governor Josh Green stressed
Starting point is 00:05:24 however that the all-clear had not yet been given and he's urging people to stay out of the but no further damage than that. Now, Hawaiian Governor Josh Green stressed, however, that the all clear had not yet been given and he's urging people to stay out of the evacuation area for now. He warned that waves will not just hit one side of the beach or one side of the island, but they will wrap around the island. So he's urging, you know, his, those people in that area to just be careful and stay vigilant. Yeah. I don't know nothing about that island, but when you say that a tsunami hit and there was no significant damage, that's incredible. Yeah, that is incredible.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Great thing is I haven't heard about it until just now. Oh no, I heard about it. I didn't hear about it. It was all over the news yesterday. The earthquake, yeah. But the interesting thing for me is that there's really nowhere to go other than inland and seek higher ground. So it's nice to know that the people there are okay for now absolutely president Trump let's
Starting point is 00:06:09 get into some presidential news so president Trump is back in Washington DC after spending the last five days in Scotland he returned to the White House yesterday evening where he was joined but with his by his grandchildren while in Scotland visit Trump visited two of his golf courses and met with European leaders. He was briefed on what he calls the tragic shooting that took place in Manhattan. Trump posted he trusts law enforcement agencies to get to the bottom of why this crazed lunatic committed such a senseless act of violence. He went on to say his heart is with the families of the four who were killed, including the
Starting point is 00:06:44 NYPD officer who made the ultimate sacrifice. Meanwhile, it is there is a terrible story and it continues to develop. Authorities are still working to determine the shooter, determine whether the shooter in Monday's Manhattan attack that left five people dead, including the gunman received help. Now New York City Mayor Eric Adams says, pieces of the semi-automatic rifle that was used in the killings were brought by an associate of suspect Shane Tamora, and detectives are working
Starting point is 00:07:12 to ID that person. Let's take a listen to New York Mayor Eric Adams. The lower part we are finding out was purchased by an associate. We are now attempting to identify him and question him at this time. It is undetermined at this time if he played any role at all in planning or carrying out this action.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Oh, so he didn't buy the firearm, somebody else bought it for him. A part of it, at least a part of that firearm. Yes, so, you know, every little piece has a serial number, right? That's interesting, right? Because are they gonna hold the person who bought the gun for him accountable?
Starting point is 00:07:53 And why did the person buy him the firearm? Well, it's not the firearm, it's a part of it. So we don't know a part of it. It could have been a clip, it could have been, we don't know, or it could have been a scope. We don't know what part of it it is. They automatically make sure an accessory asking is- Like you can. If you knew he was going to do this.
Starting point is 00:08:08 But see that's what I wanted. What if you knew that he had the mental health issues? Yeah, well that's what they will determine through investigation I'm sure. So reports say Tamora appeared to be targeting the NFL headquarters and had a note claiming he suffered from CTE, a brain disease that's linked to playing football and it can only be diagnosed after death. Now the note asked that his brain be studied. New York City Mayor Eric Adams, he praised authorities for their work and said the investigation is still in its early stages. Let's take a listen to his comments. Heads up to the men and women of the New York City Police Department and our partners for
Starting point is 00:08:43 immediately going in the building, going floor by floor, doing a search, looking for any incendiary devices to conduct a very thorough investigation. We have reason to believe that he was focused on the NFL agency that was located in the building He was a breakout star in high school that's why they said you know he was he did his big one in high school. He was great in in high school playing football in California. He didn't make it to the league. That's what I said.
Starting point is 00:09:30 He supposedly, according to the note, which supposedly NBC News reports that investigators actually discovered a second note in his Las Vegas home, similar to the tone of the one that they discovered in New York City. But basically he's blaming the NFL for CTE and, you know, the condition that he's he's in. Crazy. It was never there. That's great.
Starting point is 00:09:52 I mean, I really be just trying to figure out people's motives for things like this, you know what I mean? Because, you know, when you see situations like this, the first thing you think you said is yesterday and be like, what if you was just walking out that building and you was just in the area and now you, you know, victim of what this area and now you victim of what this person is going through. So I just be trying to figure out what are people's motives for doing the things
Starting point is 00:10:10 that they do. It's just selfish, you ain't wanna go alone and that's stupid. It makes no sense. And maybe he thought that the reason that kids wanna play football is the NFL and that's the way, but like you said, just take your own life, man. You come up here and so many people have lost their family members, their fathers, their
Starting point is 00:10:27 brothers, their uncles. It's just sad. And was he ever really clinically diagnosed with CTE? No, he was self diagnosed. Oh, Lord. And again, not diagnosed CTE while you're alive. That is something that your brain has to be studied after the fact to determine after you've pretty much expired.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Yeah, unfortunately. So that's a sad story all around. And yeah, but I'll continue to keep you guys posted as that story develops and more arises. That's your front page news for 6 a.m. at 7 a.m. Stick around, we are talking more presidential and what's happening in Gaza. All right, thank you.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Everybody else, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, phone lines are wide open. Holler at us now if you're having a good morning, you had a bad night, whatever it may be. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. It's a new day. This is your time to get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Wake up. Whether you're mad or blessed. It's time to get up and get something. Call up now. 800-585-1051. It's a new day. It's a new day. This is your time to get it off your chest? Wake up! Whether you're mad or blessed? It's time to get up and get something.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Call up now. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Hi, this is Monica. Hey Monica, good morning. Get it off your chest. Good morning. It's coming about the guy that stopped the people in Manhattan? Yes ma'am.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Now you know what is crazy? He has a mental health illness and what's so sad is a lot of people don't treat that seriously until something happens. And then he plays football, right? And he has that what? CTE. So he said-
Starting point is 00:11:56 That's another thing. He said he got CTE. A lot of people don't take CTE. He was self diagnosed with CTE. Like Morgan said, you don't know if you got CTE until after you go and they study your brain. Right, okay. Cause I remember some footballers that committed football failures, that committed suicide, they had that same thing. They was taking pills and they said
Starting point is 00:12:15 that the pain was there so much, you can't take it no more. It was a football player that shot himself in the head because of the pain. And my thing is this, they need to take those two subjects in consideration and help people out for real because this is getting crazy, you know? People call them crazy, but they're not crazy. They're suffering from a mental health illness. And that's something New York don't really take serious until something happens.
Starting point is 00:12:41 And then when something happens, they so quick to say, oh, this crazy person, no, he has a mental illness and he needs help. And it's hard for us to get help from people like that. You know, it's so interesting, whatever I, and I agree with you 100%, but if you can fix your mouth to say you have a mental illness,
Starting point is 00:13:00 then you can also fix your mouth to go get help for that mental illness. Like there's so many resources out here that are available to people in the same way you can Google how to get a gun or Google what an NFL headquarters is. You could be doing that same stuff to get help for what it is that you're dealing with
Starting point is 00:13:15 instead of just going out to project that pain on other people. Because that long ass drive that he took over here, I'm sure his head wasn't hurting that goddamn bad for him to do that. Yeah, you can think of a well-thought-out plan to go execute people, then you can think of a well-thought-out plan to go execute, you know, you go get some assistance for your mental health. Yeah, because like you said, if he knew he had problems, he could have got help. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:13:39 Yo, what's happening? This is Revo. Revo, what up? Get it off your chest. Hey, man, I just want to say first and foremost, good morning to everybody. And, man, I just want to say all y'all retarded out there. You right. Ain't gonna lie. And I mean that in a good way. Thank you. But I was listening to-
Starting point is 00:13:57 I'm a self-diagnosed retarded. Shut up, man. Okay, me too. So we were in the same boat. See, bus, but- So I was listening the same boat. Seen bus, but got it. So I was listening the other day and y'all was having a discussion. I forgot what about, but Marilla got brought up
Starting point is 00:14:11 and just had made a compliment that I guess she heard or saw something around, talking about if Marilla was in the bedroom, talking about, you're about to c*** her. That's c***, well I'm sorry. That had me down laughing, I ain't gonna a lot too. I downed that crap. That was Jess. I was rising when I heard it. I downed that crap.
Starting point is 00:14:28 That's hard. It is. Thank you. Nah, that's what had me rolling. Goodbye, man. Goodbye, man. Hello, who's this? Hello, this is James. I'm calling from North Carolina. James, how are you, sir?
Starting point is 00:14:43 I'm doing alright. I had a question for you and Envy, matter North Carolina. James, how are you, sir? I'm doing all right. I had a question for you and Envy, matter of fact. Yes, sir. When y'all had that colonoscopy done, that liquid that you had to drink before the procedure, is that nasty, or does it taste like Kool-Aid, or what? I did the pills and water. I don't remember drinking the liquid.
Starting point is 00:15:02 No, I did the liquid. It wasn't bad. The liquid wasn't that. It wasn't bad. I'm sure I did. I don't remember. But liquid. No, I did the liquid. It wasn't bad. The liquid wasn't that, it wasn't bad. I'm sure I did. I don't remember. But don't go far from the toilet though. Oh yeah, they told me that.
Starting point is 00:15:10 You gotta stay home. The day before you gotta be home all night long. Like ain't no, let me go out with the, real quick, no. Nope. Nowhere, like you're gonna be pooping every few seconds. The liquid wasn't bad at all, but like you said, you wanna stay close to that bathroom. Cause you gonna get to the point where you just pooping water. Yep. The liquid wasn't bad at all, but like you said, you wanna stay close to that bathroom. Cause you gonna get to the point
Starting point is 00:15:26 where you just pooping in water. Yeah. Yeah, they told me that, man. They said it had to come out clear or something. Yeah, it's gonna come out clear too. When you got the colonoscopy scheduled? For the eighth of August. Oh, that's amazing, man.
Starting point is 00:15:38 I'm gonna tell you something, you gonna love them drugs they put you on, boy. I'm serious, man. When I first did them drugs and they told me Michael Jackson, this is the drug Michael Jackson was doing I said man I get it Wait to you gonna lose some weight to That's one of my favorite songs ever. Oh, James, this is, you the one that asked for Sounds of Blackness?
Starting point is 00:16:10 That's not Sounds of Blackness by Black Men United. No, he asked for Sounds of Blackness before. That's another one of my favorite songs. Sounds of Blackness, be optimistic, and You Will Know by Black Men United. I listen to them songs every other day. Like, no exaggeration. Yeah, that's uplifting. Man, who you telling?
Starting point is 00:16:28 Like that's my records. Like when I get in one of my moods, that's my joint. Envy ain't gonna play that though. He ain't gonna get that in his Serato. Now we definitely got it. I'm trying to get it on before we get up out of here. No you not. You're lying.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Somebody, you will know. James. That's a clap. James, did I play a classic Blackness for you So you will know ain't that the one way everybody Ain't that the one where everybody Y'all gotta watch the music video. Yo, it's so much shade on that stage, but the song is great cuz they all try to outdo each other Rafael's the deep bryan mcnagg that's one of the greatest records ever made in life is lit. Hello. Who's this? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What up? Get it off your chest. I want to get off my chest. My account is that I dealt with sensitive men in 2025. She's been dealing with sensitive
Starting point is 00:17:32 men. She said, Oh, sensitive men. So I would do my whole life. Right. I work in a male dominated field. I was a mechanic. Now I'm a truck driver. I grew up with masculine men. My uncles used to beat me up when I was a kid. They used to crack jokes on me. And the men I encountered, you know, we butt each other's asses, we crack jokes on one another. We go back and forth on pushups.
Starting point is 00:17:53 You know, we challenge one another. I have recently been coming across sensitive-ass dudes doing masculine-ass jobs, taking what I say to the bone, and getting sensitive, and and getting mad and getting aggressive And I'm a girl. You sound like a star. I don't know what's going on with me. She does not sound like a star. Her background gives her a star. I think you were supposed to be a star to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:18:15 But she does not sound like a star. She does not push ups and fighting. Yeah, she was a mechanic now. I am a star. Well, I mean, I'm masculine presenting. Oh, yeah. Okay. But you like men? That word has so many things.
Starting point is 00:18:29 But you like men, though? No, she don't. Nah, I don't like men. I got a wife and a kid. Oh, you just talking about sensitive men just in general. Yeah, yeah. Oh, okay, okay. Why they so sensitive to her?
Starting point is 00:18:39 Not like with her. Not that she dealing with them. Like, it's something about me. I don't know what it is, but it's like, it's something about me that they feel, I don't even know how to express it, because I'm not a man, so I can't keep a man. But that's the thing. So what's the problem?
Starting point is 00:18:53 They trying to crack you. Nah, that's not what it is. It is. You know what it is, when you going back and forth with a person, and you really want to swing on them, but then you realize they're a girl, but the whole time they giving off like men, menly energy, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:19:03 They get frustrated. So they start thinking, all all right if I crack a little Man do this with one another man are used to seeing me in the field. I've been in this field for years I've been working with dudes for years. I give off a certain type of persona I wouldn't mess with you, Yaya. Where you live at? I live in Staten Island. Oh.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Oh, okay, okay. How many push-ups could you do a clip? I can do about 25. Okay. And some of these guys can't, so you're probably embarrassing them. Yeah. You're probably a better truck driver.
Starting point is 00:19:36 Nah, you gotta see this though. I'll be at work at the dump, dumping my load, right? And I'll find some of the guys and we'll do push-ups back to back. Some of these dudes can't even do 10. Yeah, man. They probably not sensitive.
Starting point is 00:19:49 They just don't wanna play with you for real. They like, man, go on out here, man, dog. You like, god damn, go find some women to play with. Man, but I'm fun, man. I like to hang out with you guys. I know. Hang out with you, see where to hang out with. Where to hang out with the fellas.
Starting point is 00:20:00 And then they get in front of you. Mr. Sister. Mr. Sister. Wow. You was at that WNBA game last night. You threw that dildo on the floor, didn't you? Somebody did that yesterday. Funny as hell. Somebody definitely threw a dildo dirty game.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Line green. Wow. Unappropriate. Inappropriate. But funny as hell. All right. Get it off your chest. $800,appropriate, inappropriate, but funny as hell. All right, get it off your chest, 800-585-1051. We got the latest, Lori, coming up.
Starting point is 00:20:30 What are we talking about? We talking about Donald Trump and Diddy, because there is a report right now, deadline, that Trump is considering pardoning Diddy, seriously considering it too. Yeah, I would say that too, if everybody was on my ass about the Epstein files, and I know you negroes is easily distracting
Starting point is 00:20:45 And I've been trying to change the temperature for the past week and a half By bringing up every black person I can Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce. Now I know what to do Hey, Paul and Diddy! And here go Lowell and LaRosa, ready to report the news about that nasty And we're gonna have a conversation about it because also today there's gonna be a new filing on Diddy's uh in Diddy's case And we're gonna talk about that it'll drop today but we're gonna explain it before it happens. How you got all the news? Listen let's just get to the latest. All right we'll get to that next is the Breakfast Club good morning. The
Starting point is 00:21:12 Breakfast Club. Morning everybody it's DJ, Envy, Jess, Hilarious, Charlamagne the guy we are the Breakfast Club let's get to the latest with Lauren. There's an exclusive report via deadline that President Trump is now seriously considering pardoning Sean Diddy Combs ahead of his sentencing. Anything to get these F-Team headlines out the news, huh? This ain't gonna last for too long. F-Team will be right back in a second. So basically, according to this report, they have these sources that they do not reveal. But according to these sources, there are serious and heavy conversations happening
Starting point is 00:22:08 right now in response to Diddy sentencing or the awaiting for Diddy sentencing. Now this report says that they've reached out to Diddy's attorneys, his lead attorneys, including Mark Agnifilio, who had no comment on this. But according to this report, several associates of the much accused and currently incarcerated Sean Diddy Combs have been pitching the White House. Other insiders confirmed that the topic has leveled up from just another Trump weave into an actionable event. So you know how people be like, oh, he's just doing that for the headlines or to distract to something that he is seriously considering finding found after
Starting point is 00:22:46 the finding of Diddy being partially guilty in his NYC sex trafficking trial earlier this month. Now y'all remember Trump was asked about this and he said, you know, he said he basically had to see all the details and see how things like played out. He wants to make sure that what you did he fear he said something like that. Now things have been played out and we're here. I mean the sentencing hasn't happened and I think right now of course what people are waiting on is what will the sentencing be? But I do think that this is um I
Starting point is 00:23:13 could see this being a thing. President Donald Trump is very social media savvy and he knows that nobody moves the needle more on social media than black people. Okay black Twitter amplifies everything and that's why so many things he's been flooding the zone with this week have been about black people. Okay, black Twitter amplifies everything and that's why so many things he's been flooding the zone with this week have been about black people. I'm gonna arrest Barack Obama. Beyonce, Kamala Harris, Al Sharpton need to be investigated. Now let me throw out there that I'm thinking about pardoning Diddy. Maybe this will push these Epstein headlines out of the news. Maybe this will push out you know these headlines about Jelaine Maxwell offering
Starting point is 00:23:41 to testify before Congress on Jeff on Jeffrey Epstein if she is pardoned. Hey, yo, he said that he got Beyonce, he got to investigate Beyonce. Yes. Yeah, because of some money. They're saying that Kamala Harris gave $11 million to perform and endorse her. It was Beyonce, Oprah and Kamala, and Al Sharpton, he called up. Yeah, he dropped the whole BET list. But what Trump doesn't realize is his base,
Starting point is 00:24:06 those MAGA supporters, the people who voted for Trump, it's more of them than it is black Twitter. And those are the people who won't stop talking about the Epstein files. Those are the people who are gonna keep calling out the obvious coverup. So trying to change the temperature with black people, that's not gonna work.
Starting point is 00:24:20 And at this rate by Friday, Trump gonna be offering black people reparations. He better. I guarantee, he's gonna be like, you know what black people need? Reparations. I got a couple trillion right now that they, I guarantee you that's by, at this rate by Friday, he gonna be saying- But what I don't understand, if he's allegedly all over the Epstein files, right? Why would he stand on, when I get in office, I'm going to release them?
Starting point is 00:24:44 Because I mean, that's anything I get in office, I'm going to release them? Because I don't understand why, like why he would go so hard if he's all over them. So when right? I mean like to that's the point. That's the whole point right for him to win. I think is I mean, but also too, I think it's just more of like if you say that, that people are like, Oh, it must not be much on there because why would he wanted to come out? Why would he be okay with it? And then we back off.
Starting point is 00:25:05 This was during his campaign, right? Yeah, no, to vote for him because that's what's right. Yeah, I'm adding an addition to you. I'm going to vote for him because he cares about what's right. Right? It was more so, people around him, he never really stood on it. When they asked him, he declassified. He said, yeah, but not so much as other things because there's a lot of lies that could be
Starting point is 00:25:24 in the files, basically, is what he said, on there's a lot of lies that could be in the files Basically is what he said on Fox and but didn't release any of the files that he said What about the alien files that he said he was gonna release and then release the MLK? I think some of JFK. I Ain't seen nothing by no aliens. No, because he said the aliens is a JFK said Martin Luther King He said he was a whole bunch of files. He was supposed to release He did I remember him going heavy on the average by By the way, that's another black person he did. So it wasn't just Barack. What the alien?
Starting point is 00:25:47 I thought the alien was black. He shot. It wasn't just Barack. The aliens got a face. The aliens got a face. He said Barack should be arrested. Beyonce, Al Sharpton, and Oprah need to be investigated. And then they threw out the MLK file.
Starting point is 00:25:58 That's all it is to try to distract black people because he know y'all so silly. Well, look, I don't, listen, first of all, if he dropped reparations on Friday, Epstein is definitely back of the bus. Like the people not going to really want to talk about that. You gonna fall for it even though it's an obvious trick? I don't think that anything that he says is actually going to happen, especially when it comes to reparations. But to your point, to your point, if he drops that on Friday,
Starting point is 00:26:26 I promise you nobody's gonna be talking about Epstein. At least until Monday. Then y'all just as silly as he think y'all is. Well. Niggas. Also happening. With the hard age. What else you got? No, I just was gonna mention,
Starting point is 00:26:38 so we've been talking a lot about like the sentencing and what will happen October 3rd. So today, as I'm told, there's going to be a filing that's going to be happening. There was certain filings and letters to be submitted before prosecutor Comey was fired that the judge said, hey, I want both sides to have a conversation about what sentencing should look like based on laws that we've seen prior to people who've been arrested and jailed and blah, blah, blah. I'm told today there will be something filed there on both sides, a conversation about like what the sentencing guideline would be, but also something in relation to bail as well too, because that's been a conversation. It's $50 million bailed
Starting point is 00:27:11 package that Didi just submitted yesterday. So we'll see what that filing will be and we'll get more into it. But from what I'm told, it'll address a lot of questions that people have about what bail should or shouldn't look like and what sentencing should or shouldn't look like. And I told y'all I think that this is something, all this being stirred up and expedited a bit because Comey was fired but I don't have it exact but I'm on to something here I think. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Alright. Listen, that man called up here and requested Black Men United We Will Know and you're gonna play that because that's one of my favorite songs ever. There's not too many songs that make me as happy as this record right here. This is one of the greatest songs ever recorded. If Trump played that on Friday, would you be distracted? Leave me alone. Black Men United, We Will Know is playing next. We're gonna play that on, alright? So the latest with Lauren, thank you Lauren. Please let it play now, they're gonna mess you with your kids right now and they ain't never heard this record, you keep them in the car and you let them hear this clapping.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Please let it play now. They messed this up. Please let it play now. Yo, that would be so crazy if they got a... Go Rulo! Go Rulo! 745, 95 degrees! All right, man.
Starting point is 00:31:35 Front page news is next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envyvy Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne the guy, we are the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:31:48 Let's get back to some front page news. I'm not even gonna go to the WNBA last night, but. Why can't you go to the WNBA last night? What happened during the WNBA game? Well, during the WNBA game, a fan thought it would be funny to throw a lime green dildo. That's all you got from the WNBA last night? All the games that happened last night, that's all you got from the WNBA last night all the games that happened last night
Starting point is 00:32:05 That's all you got that was part of the problem. That was the headlines you part of the problem So what else happened in WNBA Atlanta played Golden State and they you know what happened when that dildo was thrown What that dildo was thrown the game was tied 75 75 with a minute left like that was actually Was that was actually a very very very good game was and. It was. And they go in and say one by two points. That's right. They won't buy a little bit, but they won't buy the size of a dildo. All right. What's up, Morgan?
Starting point is 00:32:33 By the size of a... Hey, y'all. Hey, all right. So let's get back into some presidential news. Before President Trump left Scotland yesterday, he said the US will set up food centers in the Gaza Strip. Now Trump publicly said he does not agree with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's assessment that
Starting point is 00:32:49 there's no starvation in Gaza. He went on to say people in Gaza have to get food and safety right now. Let's take a listen to President Trump's comments. We're going to be getting some good strong food. We can save a lot of people. I mean, some of those kids are that's real starvation stuff. I see it. And you can't fake that. Yeah. So the comments come as Trump met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, a senior White House official reports the president has been disturbed and troubled by the images which he saw in new clips from previously approved $ million dollars for aid to Gaza and pointed out the ongoing need for Assistance meanwhile former president Barack Obama posted on X over the weekend that Gazans are still dying of starvation He said that even if the ceasefire deal with Israel is reached a hostage of release agreement is reached
Starting point is 00:33:40 Food needs to be food and water and other necessities must be allowed to enter the enclave. Now, President Trump and Israel have both claimed that Hamas is stealing critical supplies meant for the region. However, even Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green is calling the humanitarian crisis in Gaza a genocide. Green wrote in a post on X, it's the most truthful and easiest thing to say that October 7th in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned. But so is the genocide humanitarian crisis and starvation happening in Gaza. She appears to be the first Republican in Congress to use the term to describe that situation, would say you guys. I mean, it is, it is that and it's been that for a while and I mean you know it feels good I don't want to say it feels good but it is good to see people calling it what it
Starting point is 00:34:30 is regardless of you know which side of the aisle you on like man if you're sitting around and you watching innocent men women and children die you watching innocent children starve your human instinct has to kick in at that point and you have to be like that's wrong like that's actually just stating the obvious if you ask me. Yes. Uh, so switching gears, uh, don't get too complicit though. So Senator Cory Booker, he's accusing fellow Democrats of being complicit in president Trump's agenda.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Booker made the comments on the Senate floor on Tuesday, when he objected to a bipartisan motion to pass a package funding law enforcement. And he said he wanted to change the bills to make sure the funds are equally distributed. Let's take a listen to Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey. If you're as passionate about police as we are, then pass bills out of this body that will help the police officers in Washington, that will help the police officers in Illinois, that will help the police officers in New Jersey. So Senator Booker called for taking action that makes sense, not more talk and debate. He said it's a violation of the Constitution for the president to ignore the will of Congress
Starting point is 00:35:34 and decide which states are eligible for grants and which are not. Now, the Democrat who put forth the motion called Booker's claims ridiculous and said he should have raised his concerns weeks ago. Switching gears again, members of Maryland's Democratic Congressional delegation are speaking out after they were denied access to a Baltimore ICE detention center in the Fallon Federal Building prompting them to stage a brief sit-in. The lawmakers include Representative Kwesi Mfume, Sarah Elfrith, Johnny O. Jr.,
Starting point is 00:36:06 and Glenn Ivey, along with Senators Chris Van Hollen and Senator Angela Alsobrooks. The group says they were blocked from inspecting the site despite a federal law allowing unannounced visits. ICE officials refused entry, citing internal policy, even as lawmakers voiced concerns over detainee conditions. Now, also Brooks says denying lawmakers access, it's clear that ICE facility has been instructed to hide the horror of the inhumane treatment of the people in their custody. Let's take a listen to Maryland Senator Angela Also Brooks.
Starting point is 00:36:37 What I'm gonna tell you this, the fear will pass the shame that our country will carry as a result of this conduct and so many other things will last for generations. The shame of it all. And also be clear, there are people who have been detained. These are humans. And by the way, we represent every single living person in the state of Maryland. You know, this comes as there have been a lot of congressional members and elected officials that have been denied access to these ICE facilities.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Of course it happened in New Jersey, it's happening in California, and yeah, we'll continue to keep our eye on that. Now Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen says Donald Trump told the American people his immigration policy will focus on the worst of the worst, but that was a lie. Now he went on to say the administration is pursuing a cruel mass deportation agenda where people are held under inhumane conditions and shipped off without due process. Um, all right.
Starting point is 00:37:32 And, uh, bringing things back to president Trump, he is seeking legal action against former vice president Kamala Harris and celebrities who endorsed her presidential campaign in 2024. Now Trump claims Harris paid Beyoncé $11 million, Oprah $3 million, and Al Sharpton $600,000. Trump says that violates campaign finance laws. On Truth Social, he said, you are not allowed to pay for an endorsement. However, federal filings reveal only standard reimbursements for event costs, not endorsements. Harris's campaign denies any wrongdoing. Critics suggest Trump is using the claims, again, as you mentioned Charlemagne, to distract
Starting point is 00:38:11 from his own issues regarding the Jeffrey Epstein file. It's so obvious. Yeah, it is. I mean, it's so obvious. And you know, once again, he understands that black people run social media. He understands that black Twitter amplifies everything. So he's flooding the zone with all of these stories about what he's gonna do for black people,
Starting point is 00:38:29 whether it's pardon and diddy, or Barack Obama needs to be arrested, investigating the celebrity you just named. He's only doing that because he's trying to get those headlines about Epstein out of the news. That's it. It's really just that simple. And you know, that's why people should never stop talking about the Epstein out of the news. That's it. It's really just that simple. And you know, that's why people should never stop talking
Starting point is 00:38:48 about the Epstein for us. Well, I'm gonna be done with it for today. Just for today, I'm gonna come back to it tomorrow. But so that's your front page news. I'm Morgan Wood. You guys can follow me on socials at Morgan Media. And for more news coverage, follow at Black Information Network,
Starting point is 00:39:01 download the free iHeartRadio app and visit us at BINnews.com. Thank y'all so much and enjoy your Wednesday. Alright, thank you Morgan. Now when we come back, Rashad Belal and Troy Millings from EYL. Earn your leisure, you'll be joining us and we'll talk to them next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning everybody, it's DJ NV Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne the Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We got some special guests in the building. Our guys.
Starting point is 00:39:27 Rashad and Troy Millings. Now, in Best Fest 2025, it's coming to August 22nd through the 24th for people like Magic Johnson, Steve Harvey, Issa Rae, Angela Rae, Steven Jackson, Two Chainz, Terrence J, DJ Head, Pretty V, John Hope Bryan, Ryan Leslie, and our very own Thickums. Charlamagne N'Gaba.
Starting point is 00:39:46 I will be there, I will be there in the Best Fest. I was about to say, who wrote this press release? That was crazy. That was crazy. That was crazy. That was crazy. I was feathered for it. How many Best Fest has it been so far?
Starting point is 00:39:59 The fifth one. Congratulations, man. Thank you, appreciate it. Jack Dorsey, too. Jack Dorsey. You know, it's interesting when you attempt to build something like this, you don't know what it's gonna turn into.
Starting point is 00:40:09 You don't know if culture is gonna show up, but it's become a cultural staple. Yeah, absolutely man. Like I said, five years ago, it was an idea in Shadi's head. We executed the first year right through COVID, it was crazy. So to see where it's at now, we talk about cultural events, but it's the biggest, biggest business event in the world.
Starting point is 00:40:28 You talk about the amount of people that come through, we can talk about the list of people, billionaires, entrepreneurs, everybody from trying to start to get a job. It's a multitude of a bunch of people coming together for the same cause. Now every year you do something different with InvestPass.
Starting point is 00:40:45 So what are you guys doing this year that's different? So we started the pitch competition last year, Rest In Peace to Nip. We did it in honor of Nipsey Hussle. And we had his brother Black Sam, we had the marathon come. And we're refining it this year. You know Paul Judges? Do I think that sounds familiar?
Starting point is 00:40:59 Well he's like one of the top black venture capitalists in America, based in Atlanta. So we let him just fully take it over. So it's only for tech companies this year, $125,000. And then we got two chains, we got Angela Simmons and we got Jaylen Brown as judges. So we wanted to kind of fine tune it because we know that tech is the number one. Everybody talks about AI and all of that. So it's like, we talk about the problems a lot.
Starting point is 00:41:24 Let's talk about some solutions. Let talks about AI and all of that. So it's like, we talk about the problems a lot. Let's talk about some solutions. Let's empower the next generation of entrepreneurs. We know that capital is a big problem in our community. John Hope Bryant. So what we're doing with him is that he's actually going to be doing on stage mentoring. It's a challenge. Like five entrepreneurs is going to win an opportunity to get on stage with him. They're going to tell him about their pain points, what's going wrong in their business.
Starting point is 00:41:44 He's going to give him real-time feedback and then the winner is gonna get his mentorship package. It's valued at over 25,000. It's like credit, it's access to capital, it's like phone calls, the whole thing. So we're doing that this year. We have- We got the deal room too.
Starting point is 00:41:57 So this is something that's important, especially in our world. Like a lot of people come with you ideas and a lot of deals go through your team and you can't fulfill them all. And so a lot of people don't have access and a lot of deals go through your team and you can't fulfill them all. And so a lot of people don't have access to that. And so our thing was like, yo, if we can create a room with those types of deals
Starting point is 00:42:12 and have it vetted from real legit companies inside the world of tech and all other avenues, why not bring that to our audience and let them see what this is like so they can be part of those deals as well. So we try to stimulate the economy as many ways as possible. And we got deals in Africa that we gonna bring.
Starting point is 00:42:25 And we're doing for the first time ever, we're doing a collaboration comedy show, 85 South, on Thursday. So we're gonna make it like a whole week. So it starts on Thursday, it's a kickoff comedy show, 85 South, and Block shout to Jack Dorsey and the whole team at Block. So the weekend is having a concert
Starting point is 00:42:42 at my state East Bend Stadium on Thursday. So Block is cash, you know block owns cash app so they they're giving away tickets for invest fest Purchasers to get access to the cut the weekend concert also, so it's like a long list of different things You know let Africa take over Investfest. That's gonna be what they talking about on Twitter after Investfest. The Best Fest done became Africanized. Yellow fever cards ready. God damn, bro.
Starting point is 00:43:16 You know what, we want to make sure that we can bridge that gap and do it in the best way. And so a lot of people have seen us go to Africa a few times over the past couple months, but we're not going there just as travelers. We're going over there to see business opportunities and now we're bringing those business opportunities back to Investfest. And so to bridge that gap, a lot of people go to Ghana and Nigeria for December to party,
Starting point is 00:43:36 but they leave. By the way, I'm joking. I think that's the stupidest conversation in the world. I don't know why. The essence? Yes. The great thing is that I saw a video when it was like, yo, I had a great time when Janet Jackson was there, we speak about this.
Starting point is 00:43:47 The Africans ran it then. Yeah, yeah, yeah. When you had a great time. So it's like nothing has really changed. But like you said, I mean, it's a matter of really just bridging the gap. It's a lot, I like Vic Mensa's content a lot. You follow him?
Starting point is 00:44:01 Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's dope. Like he talk a lot about the diaspora wars. And there's a lot of that going on right now. It's a lot of division. But ultimately, it's not helpful to anybody. Like, it's helpful for us to work with the continent. It's beneficial for people on the continent to work with us. Like us dividing each other. It's not like we have the lowest level
Starting point is 00:44:19 when it comes to anything as far as economic empowerment. So we're not really in a position to fight. We actually going to Africa. Um Africa tomorrow. Tomorrow we're going to Africa. You're going to Ghana again? We're going to Benin and then we're going to the Irish coast. What y'all doing out there? We got invited by the government of Benin.
Starting point is 00:44:35 I don't know if you saw, but they recently, Sierra got citizenship. Yes. So they really wanna, that's the crazy thing. That's the crazy thing about like, there's a big notion of like Africans don't like black people from America That's not true. Like of course you're gonna find one or two people but like they like how can we tap in with y'all?
Starting point is 00:44:51 How can we like attract more people? How can we can attract more investment? Like how can we get more tourism? Like this is something that these governments are actively trying to do Ghana did a great job of it But they're not the only country we went to Rwanda, we went to Kenya, we going to Benin, we going to Ivory Coast. This is all invitations from private sector and the public sector. Saying like, look, we understand the power that you guys have in America as far as on a cultural side
Starting point is 00:45:17 and economic side as well. Come, like work with us. Like we want to have you guys here. So I just wanna dispel that rumor because that's something that has been permeated of like they don't even like us, they don't even like black Americans, like that's not true.
Starting point is 00:45:30 It's crazy, so those trips that he's talking about, while we were there, people were trying to invite us to their country. So Uganda was on the list, South Africa was on the list, they saw that we were coming in, they respect us from the platform that we built in America, and they're like, you guys are here for business, and we want people to know that there's business
Starting point is 00:45:44 taking place, so when we were in Rwanda, it was like, you guys are here for business, and we want people to know that there's business taking place, so when we were in Rwanda, we were like, wait, we've never even seen this before. Nobody's ever talked about Rwanda, all we think about is the movie that we know from the 90s, and then you get there, it's the safest, it's the cleanest place, and I'm like, wait, how come people don't know
Starting point is 00:45:57 what's happening here, right? Then we go to Kenya, it's the same thing. Now, Benin, it's their Independence Day, the president's like, you guys need to come. The Sierra thing happened last week, but they're like, I want you to see what Independence Day looks like here, I want you all to be a part of it,
Starting point is 00:46:08 and I want you all to show people that there's business here. Same thing in Ivory Coast. This was somebody in the business world that's like, I love these guys. Can they come while they're on this side of the country, side of the world? And we're like, of course, let's do it. And mind you, these aren't even English speaking countries,
Starting point is 00:46:22 they speak French. Yeah, I've been working on my French. So. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Starting point is 00:46:30 yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, At the time I didn't understand it and I wasn't into it and it was real low and now it's through the roof, right? Happens to a lot of us. So what do you tell people that are entry-level and saying what's the next thing that I should be looking at? They're looking towards that is affordable for them. I mean right now I let you talk about but AI revolution So we've been talking about we're in it
Starting point is 00:46:59 AI is not the futures right now and it's only gonna get bigger You see the number one company in the world, Nvidia. Five years ago, nobody even heard of Nvidia. Now they're bigger than Apple, Microsoft, Google, Meta. What does that tell you? What do they do? They make computer chips. So it's like, you got Taiwan Semiconductor, right?
Starting point is 00:47:18 Like artificial intelligence is not going anywhere. That's another major focus on it for Investfest this year. You can't run from it. We can't hide from it. Like you got to invest your money in these technology companies. You got to invest your money in these artificial intelligence companies. Crypto is not going anywhere either, but AI is literally like the world is not even going to look the same in five or 10 years. It's going to be completely different. This is going to be the greatest wealth transfer. Like this moment in time, we said the last night, this is the most important time in terms of investing. We've never seen returns like this.
Starting point is 00:47:49 We've never seen a company go up by 5,000%. We've never seen a $4 trillion company, let alone a $3 trillion company. That's happening in this lifetime as we talk about it. When we talked five years ago, and you asked that question, we told you TSM. We told you Microsoft, because we knew that they were gonna lead, and that hasn't changed.
Starting point is 00:48:07 And if you look at how the economy is looking right now, those companies, Nvidia, but the companies that have built around it, the companies that they're partnered with are going to lead the generation too. And so if people are looking to invest, they should start there, right? We already know, right? People use OpenAI. Well, what makes it run? GPUs, right?
Starting point is 00:48:24 Who makes those GPUs? Nvidia makes it, AMD makes it. So we gotta invest in those companies. We already know that we're on Instagram and we're on Facebook. Well, Meta owns that. We should be involved in that, right? If you look at what Mark Zuckerberg's doing,
Starting point is 00:48:36 like quietly while we're discussing all these other things, he just stole OpenAI's co-founder, right? Recruited, recruited. Well. Allegedly. Paid him a lot. Paid him a lot of money. A whole lot of money. A whole lot of money. stole OpenAI's co-founder, right? Recruited, recruited. Well, allegedly. Paid him a lot. Paid him a lot of money. A whole lot of money. A whole lot of money.
Starting point is 00:48:48 A lot of money. Right? That was two weeks after he took Alexander Wang, who was the CEO of ScaleAI, right? He took their company, well not took, made a deal with them for 14 billion, right? Like these are the things that are happening on our watch. So we gotta be making sure that we're investing
Starting point is 00:49:04 in these companies, understanding what they do so we can take advantage of it. And also not just from a user standpoint. Also, we went to Silicon Valley. So we actually went to Nvidia's headquarters and we went to Metta's headquarters. OK, we go to Metta's headquarters, right? We get in the tour, they campus, they campus is crazy. You don't see one black person there. 90. You hardly don't see any white people there.
Starting point is 00:49:25 Chinese, Asian, Chinese and Indian. So much though, they said that they have they have full Zoom calls in Mandarin. That's how many Chinese people work there. So a force from an investment standpoint, we need to invest in tech companies. But from an educational standpoint, like, I don't think people fully understand how far we are behind we are in this situation. Like, we're not even a thought in the process of, like, these tech companies, not one,
Starting point is 00:49:49 it might be like one black person in the whole entire department, of like 300, 400 people. I'm telling you, we sold our own ass. Hundreds of kids that's 22 years old, 25, 26, all Asian. Every single one of them is Asian. So it's a black problem, but it's an American problem. Like if we don't catch up soon,
Starting point is 00:50:07 it's gonna be very scary over the next 10 years. I was looking at the Buddha judges when I was looking at Chinese roads and how they have their roads and how they deal with the elements out there where they have stuff that shoots on their roads that they don't even have to clean, which is crazy. I'm being honest with you, I don't know how we catch up
Starting point is 00:50:22 because this country has a real sick obsession with celebrity. And they think everything celebrity and entertainment driven is how you get to the money. I don't know how you change that. And dysfunction, political dysfunction. America like, you already know the political discourse that we have in America. So nothing is done and it's only getting worse and then everybody's fighting. Then you add the social media addiction. Then you add the junk food,
Starting point is 00:50:49 which makes it hard to concentrate period. Then you add the education system, the celebrity aspect. And yes, a recipe for disaster to be honest with you. So yeah, no, it's going to be difficult. I'm not really sure how it changes, but we need to really start to think differently about it because like I said what I saw in China like it blew me away like the stuff that they doing and with their planning like we're not even thinking We just trying to just get through the day Well, I saw the face scan that was pretty cool I think that they they have the hand scan already in America
Starting point is 00:51:20 But like a lot the face scan is is like everywhere meaning like you you go to a gas station Whatever you get the water you just I'm talking to the clerk I just look and just check out the first time she did I'm like what they doing it like I'm not They just scan my eyeballs So they the bank account information is placed in like your eyeball bank account information is all placed together what? So you just so we were gonna live in a world soon, but you don't need a wallet You don't need a young might not even need a phone So you just go and like the Amazon go store now they they have that through the like they can bring it up
Starting point is 00:51:51 But now they just looking at your eyeball and so how do so? Yeah, I was gonna say what do they do like how what about your eyeball pays for the it's like a personal ID So like, you know, yeah, you do it now. You just don't realize it right? Well, you go to TSA. And we have both different. You do it now, you just don't realize it. You go through Claire, what do you do? You look at it, it's AFA, it's the identity. How do you know how much money you got? Or you just link it with a card. It's like having your phone. It's like having your phone.
Starting point is 00:52:13 It's like Apple Pay. You can still get declined. They can look at your eyes like declined. Yeah, exactly, that's a fact. Depends on. I was thinking they broke in their eyeballs. Exactly. It sounds futuristic to you,
Starting point is 00:52:24 you realize you've been doing it this whole time. When you go into Amazon store and we talk about AI, that's AI. There's cameras in the ceiling that are scanning you. You put your card in when you walk in and you think you walking out and then you get the email that, wait, you just got charged $116 for what you just bought. It's like, wait, how they do that? But people are scared of that. A lot of people are scared of that.
Starting point is 00:52:41 And what do you say to that? People think it's taking jobs. Like you said, the Amazon store, there's one guy working in it to make sure people just don't run out. But besides that, there's nobody ringing you up, there's nobody doing anything like that. And people are thinking that it's taking jobs,
Starting point is 00:52:53 it's taking opportunity, it's taking their future away. So what do you say to that? We get out and realize that AI is not our enemy. It's our co-pilot. And so if we think about it, we're still far in the plane, but this is gonna help us. The people that will work with it and understand it will go ahead. The people who try to deny it and be afraid of it, it's going to be tough for them to succeed
Starting point is 00:53:11 because you're battling super intelligence. You're talking about something that's super efficient, that never stops working, that's always getting better, that never gets tired, that doesn't need any, you know, PTO or insurance. It's always no maternity leave. And it's only getting better. If it makes a mistake, it gets better. Right? So how do you compete with that? You don't. You join it. Even if we looking at it, not looking at it like it's our enemy, what the hell we gonna do? What are the jobs? What do we?
Starting point is 00:53:37 And you can't sugarcoat it. It's gonna get real scary. It's gonna be spooky hours because it's like, all right, technology always replaces low skilled labor right so before you from Baltimore right? Yep. Okay you from New York so you remember back in the days when you used to go over any bridge in New York? Those people there. People there right and they have you give them five dollars they give you two hundred
Starting point is 00:53:58 two two dollars fifty cents back those was jobs. Yep. There's nobody working those jobs anymore right so? So that's the way that that's that's how technology replaced jobs, but people will look at it like okay That's low skilled labor. But now we're gonna start to see high skilled job being replaced We was in Africa at Calise. We was in Kenya Calise Youngest son is getting taught by AI to school fully fully AI. So now you got education that's about to get replaced. You got doctors, lawyers, these engineers. Like this is very high skilled jobs that people go and pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for their degree. So now you're not only getting
Starting point is 00:54:38 low skilled replaced, you're getting high skilled replaced too. So save your money, invest your money. Like if I can give anybody advice right now, like you got to invest your money. You got to be an entrepreneur on a certain level, right? Cause just relying on a job and a skillset, there's no job that's safe. Even this job, they have an AI people that's doing podcasts. So a whole series very soon is going to be so good that you might not even know that is the AI. it's gonna be so good that you might not even know that it's the AI.
Starting point is 00:55:03 And so invest your money, crypto, tech stocks, start now. Like entrepreneurship, vitally important. That's even more important than the skill set because you can learn, technology's not that hard to learn. That's the good thing about it. But if you don't have a business, you don't have cashflow, like it's gonna be very, very difficult. Let's go kicking in with Troy and Richa from Euryaleasia.
Starting point is 00:55:27 Charlamagne? Let me ask y'all about this. You know, they're talking about the contract the economy and they say that's gonna reach 2.5 trillion this year alone. And they say AI is coming for the coders, not electricians and welders. The BlackRock CEO says we need a half a million electricians over the next few years.
Starting point is 00:55:44 What do you think about that? We do a plumber, electrician. There's a math of shortage of skilled laborers. But even that, that's true. But you need to be an entrepreneur. But those are. And people that got HVACs and electricians. No, no. They are, but I'm saying a lot of people don't look at it like that. They'll go into it saying like, I want to be a plumber and I want to work for a plumbing company. Instead of opening their own company. Instead of opening their own company. But yeah, no that's still needed for now. But yeah. That's gonna be a way to reach black people because black people understand that. So when
Starting point is 00:56:12 you start talking those kind of numbers and letting people know like skilled labor, you know the contracting economy is a 2.5 trillion dollar business and we need a half a million more of those over the next few years. That's something they understand. They may not understand the AI conversation. But you, that's insightful. I understand I respect laborers, but black people can do more than just being a laborer. But not wrong with that, though. What's up, guys?

Jeopardy truthers who say that you were given all the answers believe in?

But there's nothing wrong with it, but why are we always relegated to the blasted black jobs? That's what Trump was talking about, black jobs, right? Like, no, we need to do that, but we need to be playing at the highest level possible as well.
Starting point is 01:00:10 That's why the technology. We need to be starting tech companies. We can't just say, okay, this is what we know, this is what we can relate to. All right, you're not going to become super rich being a plumber. Let's just be honest. There's nothing wrong with that, but- Unless you start a plumbing company and you got the contract for this building. Yeah, but how many plumbing companies you know have a billion dollar valuation a billion dollar exit?
Starting point is 01:00:29 It's happening like when okay, we've been in this country for too long. We got a play quick quick catch up We can't play. Okay now we got 50 years to catch up. We gonna start at this level Telling you if we playing that game and 50 years is gonna be I agree with John That's why I love talking to y'all. But if the BlackRock CEO is saying that a $2 trillion wealth shift is coming because of the contractor economy, and he's doing, and I always encourage people to go to trade school. But we're trying to get people to sustainable wealth, right? We're talking about life-changing, generational changing, and that's why it's important to
Starting point is 01:01:01 talk about technology, because we've over-indexed in some of these professions. We know that, right? Like you my uncle's a plumber. You know my cousin does a track But I don't know anybody that has a startup right like we have to be in that We're talking about these prompts that they're not being created by us in fact the data centers that are being built They're not being built by us either right so when we're talking about discrimination in this world Imagine when it gets to that world and it doesn't care and there is nobody to answer that call and you can't complain about it. Right? We got to be inside that. We got to be creative. We got to be innovative to have something. Right?
Starting point is 01:01:34 Because we keep seeing it. We watch Vine and Facebook. We made all these things popular. Instagram popular. TikTok popular. Nothing is ours.. We gotta be in that conversation. Another thing too, right? We have these conversations and we say, we're about to see these trillion dollar companies, right? We haven't seen a trillionaire yet. Everybody not gonna be a trillionaire. Everybody not gonna be a billionaire.
Starting point is 01:01:58 Everybody not gonna be a multimillionaire. There is gonna have to be some hundred thousandaires, you know what I'm saying? I guess the question I'm asking, what does generational wealth look like? Because that should be subjective. Well, it starts with companies and like, I'm always going to hammer, like Dame Dash wasn't wrong in what he said. The delivery, I think the way that he went about it was, but that interview still resonates to this day because we don't own enough businesses. We don't. So as far as generational wealth, a lot of times that's just a catchphrase.
Starting point is 01:02:29 I don't mean what does that even mean? Generational wealth, like generational wealth is having sustainable businesses that you employing people and you can pass something down and you have an ecosystem and this is flowing nonstop, not just, OK, I made a bunch of money because nine times out of ten, you either gonna end up blowing it, you gonna get divorced and lose it, or your kid is gonna blow it. So, but if it's a system in place,
Starting point is 01:02:52 and you can actually employ people, and you can actually have things that's actually moving the ecosystem the right way, that's more beneficial than one person becoming extremely successful. And as I say, I look at generation wealth as freedom though. It's not just the amount of money you make, right?
Starting point is 01:03:08 You look at some people who might only make $100,000 or $200,000. That's a lot of money. It is, but they're happy. They're happier than that person that makes $10 million. They're happier than that person that makes $20 million, but they're able to make sure their family is good for generations for that level, but it's happiness
Starting point is 01:03:26 Because at the end of the day after money, I just want my kids to be happy Yeah, I don't want them to be stressed out. I don't want to worry about it I just want them to be happy and live the way that they want to live if they want to do nails I want them to do nails because at the end of day life is short You just want to be happy you do want to encourage them to own the nails Yes You think $100 is a lot of money? Yes. You know it's not a lot of money. It is a lot of money. Why would you say that? Why would you say that?
Starting point is 01:03:46 Why would you say that? Why would you say that? You know it's not a lot of money. Because there's people listening to us who don't have- In New York City. In New York City. Yes, but there's people listening to us who don't have- No, no, for sure.
Starting point is 01:03:55 Who don't make $20 or $30. That's not the same. It's not to discourage somebody, but it's also to be realistic. You know- Don't tell him to say Rish. You know it's not a lot of money. It is a lot of money.
Starting point is 01:04:04 You know it's not a lot of money. A hundred grand is a lot of money, Rishad. You know Somebody If you make a thousand dollars a year in New York you're coming home with 67 thousand dollars It's a lot of money. It's not a lot of money Wasn't a lot of money when I made a hundred,000. Okay, so I can relate to that part. Before I even made my first $100,000, I'm like, it don't seem like it's easy to do. When I did it, I'm like, all right now, what's $500,000?
Starting point is 01:04:34 All right, then it's, you know what I mean? So yeah, $100,000 is a lot of money to certain people, but not to me because of my expenses and the that I'm doing. The life you live. I get that doing. Like my lifestyle is not. Back to what you say, though, and I'm gonna add everybody is that sustainable, right? If I make a hundred thousand dollars a year,
Starting point is 01:04:52 can I create a lifestyle that's sustainable for my family going forward? No, you can't live, it depends. Cause you probably keep food on the table and a roof over your head and you live in check and check. And my kids are gonna have to do the same thing. Yes.
Starting point is 01:05:04 And then their kids are gonna have to do the same thing. Yes. And then their kids are gonna have to do the same thing. Yes. That's not sustainable. Because they're gonna, right, there's no guarantee. Like my parent, my dad did that, right? Like he worked for 42 years, right? It guaranteed me nothing. He spent more time at work than he did at home.
Starting point is 01:05:16 He didn't come to my basketball games because he had to work, right? And he spent weekends sometimes going to work. When I turned 18, he didn't guarantee me an interview at his job. It didn't guarantee me that I could even walk in the building. Was you good at basketball? No, I'm just kidding.
Starting point is 01:05:29 Wow. I might need to go over there. If you was growing up, I'm gonna be like, wow. All this bad big good, you gotta have the support of your support. Thank you, man. I ain't gonna waste my time with this. I ain't gonna waste my time missing brook.
Starting point is 01:05:40 This guy was a cricket player, man. We from Jamaica, man. We only got Patrick Newman. I told him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him.
Starting point is 01:05:50 I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him.
Starting point is 01:05:56 I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him.
Starting point is 01:06:03 I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him. That premise is like, now I have to go figure out what I'm gonna do, right? I can't do his career, I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do, right? My goal was to make sure that if I had something, I could pass it down. Same thing, you've always talked about, everybody here is doing it. We're not being candid about it.
Starting point is 01:06:14 We have to tell them, look, I'm trying to create something that's sustainable. I could pass it down to you, you may not even wanna do that, right, like the plumber, right? You've watched your dad be a plumber, work hard, you're like, I don't wanna do that. A lot hard, you're like, I don't wanna do that. A lot of kids grow up like, I don't wanna do that. They in the tech world.
Starting point is 01:06:28 They wanna figure out how they can use technology to advance their careers, right? So we gotta, hey, here's some assets to flourish your dream, whatever it is, rather than go figure it out on your own. I know I did it, now it's your turn. Now how y'all define success for your investments now? Is it the attendance, is it partnerships, is it media coverage or something that we don't even see?
Starting point is 01:06:46 Cultural impact? It's all of the above. I mean, I feel like if you look at Investfest, anything that we've done is pretty unprecedented as far as, okay, it's not just called a festival, it's an actual festival, right? Over the course of the week, you're gonna have 40,000 people. That's how they do it by like having people come in per day.
Starting point is 01:07:01 But we did that ourselves. It's not like we worked with another major corporation, a lot of festivals, they're funded and they're operated by major corporations, nothing wrong with that, but they get the talent and they get the venue and then they promote it and all that. We did everything ourselves, even to this day, we did everything ourselves.
Starting point is 01:07:21 So it's a beacon of what can be possible Just an idea like I mean like once again you guys chat GBT the biggest financial events in the world Invest is gonna come up in the top five if you want tickets invest fest comm There's still a couple vendor booths left and it's August 22nd to August 24th in Atlanta, Georgia And once again, thank you guys We don't take it for granted that you let us come over You know a lot of times whenever we need to do that you let us come up here. Starting point is 01:07:59 Jensilarius, Charlamagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. That's why he ain't home on, he ain't with you on a Friday night. She is family. She is family. No. She do not go through that no more. That's what you thought. That's what you thought. That man is with his family. I mean the guy we are the breakfast Okay, let's get to the latest with Lauren
Starting point is 01:08:23 To be having the latest on The latest with Lauren La Rosa sometimes you have facts you have details, sometimes you have a little bit of everything. But what's the latest? On The Breakfast Club. Talk to me. Well, Ari Lennox has people upset. She made some comments about Martin, the show Martin, and the way that Martin and Pam, y'all
Starting point is 01:08:42 know they had the jokey jokey relationship, would go back and forth. Let's take a listen to Ari Lennox. The thing that pissed me off about Martin was how much he would go on Pam. I'm not like too woke or something is what I'm trying to say. Like I'm honestly problematic. I'm pretty problematic low key. But my point is, is that there are some things where I draw the line and it just bothered me. or like Pam was so beautiful and so fine and I just feel like growing up as a chocolate girl I don't even know if I was able to understand the greatness of Pam because of the light that I feel like I was being
Starting point is 01:09:18 fed of just like always going on Pam all it like that's all I remember it just would have pissed me off like the the joking on Pam I just way. Like that's all I remember. It just would have pissed me off like the the joking on Pam. I just didn't like that. Well she could have watched another show like Family Matters and Cosby Show and you know cause ain't even living single. I didn't feel like that. Maybe my view was disproportionate or something. I didn't feel that way. Now like she said, she is problematic. And that was a very problematic take.
Starting point is 01:09:43 I don't think you should be able to call nobody problematic. Yo shut up! I'm just saying like, because yo I grew up brown skinned, you know chocolate girl as well. Yes we all saw Pam, like she was beautiful, but the jokes went back and forth. It's not like Martin just winning on her ass all the time. Pam used to like kill him. There was jokes. Now you know I like Misa Mare some Ari, but this is just silly. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Ari says she not woke. This is a pretty woke take. You need to take a little nap. Or maybe she is asleep. Because to your point, they used to all joke on each other and she said something in there. She said something like,
Starting point is 01:10:18 I wasn't able to get the full greatness of Pam. That was part of the greatness. Martin would snap on her and then Pam's jokes would be jumped into it. Yeah. And a lot of that greatness. Martin would snap on her and then Pam just be jumping good. Yeah. And a lot of that sounds like projection. You know what I mean? That's why I said there's other shows she could have watched. And everybody on that show got it. Everybody got clout on that show. It might have made her feel away because maybe there was somebody in her school joking her
Starting point is 01:10:38 like that all the time. But in that show, everybody got jokes. Everybody got it. Everybody. Well, let's take a listen. I had got some of the Martin jokes cut because they were so iconic. Let's take a listen to number three. Oops, you gotta listen. Now, how we getting up out of here with all the people I saw? Bam, bam, there it is.
Starting point is 01:10:56 We just saddle up Pam and just gallop right through the... Hilarious. ...gallop right through the ground. Right there. Whatever, Arsenio Small. clever and there was never a time you saw Martin joke on Pam and Pam didn't go back yeah never did y'all ever I mean I know they had that one episode where they like fake like kissed or something anything I always thought her relationship with him I used to be like do he like her like why he always that's the only thing I always thought her relationship with him, I used to be like, do he like her? Like why he always, that's the only thing I ever thought.
Starting point is 01:11:25 I never thought she brown skinned. Yeah, I never thought that. But it's just like that was his girlfriend's best friend, you know, she was always up, you know what I mean? Like they were like brother and sister almost, like just cracking on each other. I can't believe we explaining this. Right, that's like me and DC Young Fly. Me and DC Young Fly do the same exact thing that Pam and Martin do.
Starting point is 01:11:45 And they're the same, yo, I know that she's hitting at the colorism a little bit, right? Oh yeah, because he calls you uncle. But you didn't have to, you know? No, he don't. That's why I be on her wig. He calls me his brother. Don't worry about it, Jess. I get her feeling.
Starting point is 01:11:56 I've been noticing. I was just wondering why when they was here they kept calling you that. I'm like, why? No, Chico called her that. No, Chico says I'm his uncle. Yes, and DC is my sister. But no, I know she's talking about the colorism thing, but I could see if Martin was a light skinned guy, right, and he was always coming at her complexion, Pam's complexion.
Starting point is 01:12:16 They're both the same complexion. But there was no colorism jokes on there? There was no colorism jokes. It was nappy head jokes. But that, right. B2B and all of that. But that's what Ari is getting at also, like the complexion and all that. Cause she said growing up a brown skinned girl
Starting point is 01:12:31 and blah blah blah, like you said, she may have been bullied in school. She may not have been comfortable in her skin until later and just watching the show, Martin, didn't help that. But that wasn't for you. And what sparked that conversation? I know things just be random on social media. Like why does she just start talking about that? I have been trying to find the full
Starting point is 01:12:46 video. I've been trying to find that it was posted. I could not find what sparked it. It would go viral. But every now and then, you know, Ari just go live and just, you know, she say things. So sometimes it is random. Maybe she was watching Martin and it triggered her, you know, cause it's all a little, Martin is on Netflix. Martin is on like, you can find it everywhere. So maybe she was just watching. I've never been triggered. I'm a brown skinned girl. Never.
Starting point is 01:13:08 Never been triggered. Actually, it's still one of the best shows ever. Shut up. What you looking at? Shut up. What's up? Shut up. Okay, continue on.
Starting point is 01:13:16 When she said triggered, I was just like, you haven't been triggered, but you've been Wiggard. But that wouldn't make any sense. You know what I mean? Like that wouldn't make any sense. That was nice. That's what I'm saying. That wouldn't make any sense.
Starting point is 01:13:24 That was nice. Wiggy Smalls, you know what I mean? The notorious WIG. Wiggy smalls? Wow. You made that one up on the fly just now. Notorious WIG, you ain't never caught me at. I've never made nothing up on the fly. That's your hairstylist that be doing that.
Starting point is 01:13:37 You're making stuff up. I don't do things like that, ma'am. Jesus Christ, it's all right. That is the latest wig I'm gonna do on you. How dare you? It's all right. You let that hairlirline age you just leave my wigs alone. Don't talk about hairlines when you don't have one ma'am. Better with time.
Starting point is 01:13:50 I'm just simply saying you should not talk about hairlines when you don't have one. Same way, just you can call nobody problematic. I'm just saying. I already said she was. I already said it. I'm not. I already admitted that she was looking problematic. Alright.
Starting point is 01:14:03 Salute to LJ too. Let me throw some water on him. All right, salute to LJ too. Let me throw some water on him. Who is LJ? LJ's the one that, the new one that does her hair. The new staff. Oh, you got a new answer? You ain't tell me the name.
Starting point is 01:14:13 Why are you laughing? Why is that funny? First of all, I know that girl. You got a guy really good. No, I still work with my ear too. Y'all, shout out to my ear as well. Salute to LJ. You let these people make you get a girl.
Starting point is 01:14:31 Not these people. No, I just wanted good hair for my sewing. LJ sells amazing virgin hair. My daughter's here. She does gears here. She's a little to LJ. She is smucking got a new goddamn stylist. You see what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:14:46 But you've been here still joking about the hair like you didn't even realize. I'm here to claim it. Huh? What happened now? What'd you say? So I'll let you give me a donkatsu. Oh, four after the hour we need a NFL player named, not an NFL player, we need the Las Vegas Raiders to come to the Frontline Connergy. Man, we need the Las Vegas Raiders to come to the Front Connegration. We'd like to have a word with them. Getting about to see each other with your little self took a long time.
Starting point is 01:15:07 I'm hopping down on that seat, you little leprechaun. I can't believe you got a new partner. It's the Breakfast Club, good boy. You're checking out the Breakfast Club. Your execution on the donkey of the day is something to behold. Is it a read? Is it a read?
Starting point is 01:15:21 He gave me donkey of the day and I deserve it. You don't need to know. You need to tell them. I am.th goes to the Las Vegas Raiders. Now I usually don't mind other NFL teams business because I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan. I know I know nobody feels sorry for us. I need to shut the f up forever when it comes to other NFL teams but an injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Martin Luther King Jr. said that by the way and I agree. See there's a man named Christian Wilkins he was a defensive tackle for the Raiders and he has been released from the team
Starting point is 01:16:07 now this man signed the four-year 110 million dollar deal with 84.75 million to that guaranteed but the release will cost him the remainder of the contract which is around 35 million dollars now I'm not his agent or his lawyer so I don't know why the release would cost him the remainder of his contract. I really hate when that happens because that's a lot of money to leave on the table. But wait until you hear the reason. They say Christian Wilkins got released. Let's go to ABC 13 for the report please. I have no comment to make. We made a decision on what we're doing and we're moving with it.
Starting point is 01:16:40 The Raiders made national headlines last week with the bombshell decision to release Christian Wilkins, cutting what was expected to be a superstar's time in Vegas to only five games. The Raiders splash signing disagreed on whether to get a second surgery on the Jones fracture in his foot. The 29 year old filing a grievance with the NFLPA as the Raiders withhold about $35 million of guaranteed money from Wilkins for a year $110 million contract. But as we learned last week, there's more to it. Sources tell KTNV details on an inappropriate incident expediting the
Starting point is 01:17:13 release of Wilkins, who also has a documented history of behavioral issues. On Monday, I reported that Wilkins had kissed a teammate on the head in a meeting which the teammate took offense to, filing a sexual harassment claim to human resources he did what? he did what? play the end part again man play the end part. play it one more time. this is good. he kissed the top of a teammates head in a meeting okay what is the world coming to? so you mean to tell me NFL players
Starting point is 01:17:44 y'all can pat each other on the ass, playing patty cake on each other's butt cheeks, but a kiss on the top of a teammate's head is too far? Y'all be butt-necking in the locker room, showering together, meet just hanging like a butcher shop, but a man kissing the top of a teammate's head is too far? Quarterback is the gayest position in all of football.
Starting point is 01:18:03 You stand behind a man with your hand between his legs while the man is bent over you screaming and he can't move until you tell him to if that if that don't sound like free golf instructions I don't know what does okay the position tight end that title is the most flirty title in the history of titles okayvy told me on Grindr people actually put that in their bios. I have a tight end. Is that true Envy? I have no idea what you're talking about.
Starting point is 01:18:29 Envy told me people are on Grindr looking for tight ends. I'm just simply saying kissing the top of a teammate's head is one of the least gayest things I've heard or seen on a football field. Okay, now- He got fired for that? He got, the man went to report him. Now a source told ESPN that the incident was intended to be playful
Starting point is 01:18:46 But the recipient of the kiss took offense. I understand that we all got boundaries. Okay, we should respect people's boundaries But damn to report me to HR It's got to be some honor amongst players. You have to be able to settle things amongst each other before y'all run the corporate. I would rather y'all are squared up in the locker room, okay? With clothes on, of course. All right? A man kiss you on the top of the head while you butt-neck it in the locker room. That's foreplay. Now, Adam Butler, Christian's former teammate with the Raiders, was asked about the situation. He said this. You know, whatever you're going through as a person, you know, athlete, non-athlete, whoever, whatever your struggle is. If you got something going on in life just you know talk to somebody, get some therapy, you
Starting point is 01:19:29 know whatever your deal is, it's your deal. Somebody out there in this world full of billions of people is willing to listen. They're willing to listen, hear you out and help you work through whatever you need to work through. Being a mental health advocate myself I agree with everything he said but what does that have to do with a man being released because he kissed another man on the top of his head? What's really going on here with the Raiders and Christian Wilkins is what they said earlier. They were beefing over how he was treating the rehab for a foot injury that cost him
Starting point is 01:19:56 all but five games last season. They also disagreed over whether to have surgery on the foot. So they used this incident to release Christian Wilkins, which complete nonsense. Okay that's just utter foolishness. Now he does have a history of behavioral issues but unless he has a history of making other men feel uncomfortable on the team there was no reason to release him. Okay the NFL teams just really don't be wanting to pay people and they will use any excuse not to. Please give the Las Vegas Raiders the sweet sound of the Now, was the guy the kisser gay? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:20:48 You know what I'm saying? He's unidentified. Okay. Because if a straight man- Oh, you mean was the kisser gay? Yes. Oh, Kristen Wilkins. Okay, okay, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
Starting point is 01:21:00 Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. Does that change things? Right. Because if the guy who was kissed is not gay Yeah, and his penis jumping. You know what I'm saying? I'm not talking about the penis jumping. Oh, then it's like I should know you're violating me. This is not a joke now Yeah, this is like you tried me. I'm coming out. Yeah Okay, but like you said if that's not the case, you gotta be some type of cool
Starting point is 01:21:22 Like god damn you just go run the HR and you know, but. To your point though, if the guy is good. Yeah. And I don't know if Christian, if he is, I can't just square up with you because now it's a hate crime. Exactly. Exactly. Well, let's listen.
Starting point is 01:21:35 And the NFL Players Association filed a grievance on Wilkins behalf, and I do hope he gets his money. Well, let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-1059. No, let's open up the phone lines There's more pressing issues There's more pressing issues what what? We just found out Lauren LaRosa fired her wig technician What do you call it a hair stylist her mechanic we just found out that Lauren fired her mechanic
Starting point is 01:22:21 We just started having a conversation after you told us that Lauren got a new hair stylist And so I asked the question. Why do you get ready? I asked the question to the do you get rid of... I asked the question to the room, to the ladies in the room, what are reasons you got rid of your hairstylist? Because you know Lauren gets a lot of flack for her wigs. Right. I had a wig in months. What you mean? I had my actual hair.
Starting point is 01:22:35 But we know why you haven't worn one in months. Because it's hot. We can't skin her away from wearing them. The joke. No, because it's hot, dummy. It's hot. You can't lay lace in the heat. That ain't hot what you got on right now This is a wash and go what summer? He just want to be all up in the hair business if you want a wig and a song just say that girl
Starting point is 01:22:53 We already know you were nudge you don't give a day to somebody Because you still hiding behind the donkeys and we already know listen we want to know why Women get rid of their hairstylists. What are the reasons? What are the reasons you have to get rid of your hairstylist? Don't include me and my hairstylist in this because she is not fired. So what did Envy say? Envy said I have an additional hairstylist now in Jersey. Shout out to Hair by LJ. She lives around the corner from me. You had to call in a team. You needed a committee. You had to call in some reinforcements. You needed help, didn't you? So bad. I mean, I'm not mad at that Lord. Okay, what happened to you?
Starting point is 01:23:38 Five eight five one. Oh five one salute to here by LJ It missed my time Lauren is here by LJ now here by LJ, she does my baby's hair, she does Guien's hair, and now she's doing Lauren's hair. Shalimane feels like- Ari Lennox would not like Ben hair. She would not like Ben hair. She ain't like Martin. She would not like breakfast. 800-585-1051, what is the reason
Starting point is 01:24:00 why you change your hairstylist? That's all I wanna know. It's a simple question. Jess, have you ever had too? Uh, yeah. For what reason? Black girls f me up man. Like real bad. My wigs crazy. See, being honest. Yeah. That's a honest human being over there. Just hilarious. Okay. Damn. Alright. What? I just want to know what's going on with Khalifa. That's what we're trying to do over here. We're just trying to figure things out. We'll hear from Lauren when we come back to why she got rid of her old hair stylus.
Starting point is 01:24:29 It's the Breakfast Club Charlamagne started this topic. Cars get hot fast and can be deadly. Never leave a child in a car. A message from Nitze and the Ad Council. Hello, puzzlers. Let's start with a quick puzzle.
Starting point is 01:27:38 The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with AJ Jacobs. The question is, what is the most entertaining listening experience in podcast land? Jeopardy truthers who say that you were given all the answers believe in? I guess they would be kenspiracy theorists. That's right. Are there Jeopardy truthers? Are there people who say that it was rigged? Yeah, ever since I was first on, people are like, they gave you the answers, right? And then there's the other ones which are like, they gave you the answers and you still blew it.
Starting point is 01:28:13 Don't miss Jeopardy Legend Ken Jennings on our special Game Show Week of The Puzzler Podcast. The Puzzler is the best place to get your daily word puzzle fix. Listen on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Is it shit somewhere? Jeff said, why did you get, why have you gotten rid of your hairstyles? That's the question. I got tired of hairstyles, effing me up man. Wigs, you can see, you know, my, my full hair was a different color than the lace and then
Starting point is 01:28:43 like, you know, the part would be too wide and then man man the part wouldn't be plucked enough the frontal would be just straight And Lauren you were honest behind the scenes. I said when I first of all I still work with my original hairstylist Her name is miss my tie. She's from Philadelphia. Shout out to her. She was hard Yes Yes You take out your anger and your inability to Right. It's on Lauren's too. Oh, you're right. All Lauren's wings show her bald spots. That was the point. I don't mean to be in here trying to do anything, but just help Lauren.
Starting point is 01:29:28 You are the devil. Hey, you hear what Envy said? Who are you going down to? I don't want to see you. Oh, so you told me the way I used to talk to you. Now I'm going to help you. And who's that being upset? I'm going to take your advice.
Starting point is 01:29:40 I'm going to pull the wig back. What I said was is that there are certain hairstyles that I don't like. We just have a comment. Yo. All right. Tell me more. So what is the reason why somebody
Starting point is 01:29:49 would get rid of their hairstylist, Lauren? You could get rid of your hairstylist for all the reasons Jeff said you could get rid of your hairstylist, because, you know, I don't know, you don't like the prices no more. They up in their prices. For me, I didn't get rid of anybody. I just added somebody closer so it's more convenient for me.
Starting point is 01:30:02 Why did you need to add somebody? Because I wanted to. Let me tell you something. There's a reason did he add a lawyer to his defense team. Right? Because what he was doing wasn't working. Okay? So why did you add people to your hairstyle?
Starting point is 01:30:15 Hey, that nigga said you had to call in the committee. Wow. I added people because you know it's a lot going on. Okay. And then it's like different styles for different things. Thank you, Jess. You know, LJ probably specializes in something that Maya doesn't. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:30:28 True, true. So because Maya, she does units, she does wigs. LJ does sew-ins, natural hair. Okay. So they have two different specialties. I thought I was just asking questions. You're being women's business, boy. Hello.
Starting point is 01:30:39 Hello. Hey, what's your name? My name is Hannah. Hannah, why do you get rid of your hairstylist if you've gotten rid of yours before? Okay, especially if you're a hair stylist. business boy don't you? Hello? Hello? Hey what's your name? My name is Hannah. Hannah why do you get rid of your hair stylist if you've gotten rid of yours before? Okay so I'm a nail tank so I'm a true believer of don't cheat on your tech but if your tech isn't showing professionalism and integrity in the workplace and just taking care of you
Starting point is 01:31:00 how they don't want to be taken care of That's the reason to try your stylish. Yeah. Well, I agree with that. I think once you lock in people, you lock in. That's why I have conversations with people before things happen. So for instance, Myia knows because she also is a mom. So she's single mom. So she's here.
Starting point is 01:31:15 Yeah, she works in a shop. She can't get to me all the time. So what was happening was I needed people like, hey, I need to come in today right now. She would drive from Philly sometimes at a moment's notice. And I felt like that was unfair for her So I found someone closer but my still on my team. I think you need a week day I think you need a week 10 clan of the whole
Starting point is 01:31:34 People to help you, you know put together whatever it is. You trying to do over there. Hello, who's this? This is Jackie from Florida, what's up, Jackie from Florida? You guys are hilarious I'm looking for you every day and this is the first time I got to well, thank you Lauren needed a chain Oh my god. Ma'am, hi. Yes ma'am. She just wanted, she just wanted change. That's it.
Starting point is 01:32:09 Yes ma'am. Yes. No, I think what you said initially Jackie was true. She needed a change. Yes ma'am. Yes ma'am. Oh my god. Yes ma'am.
Starting point is 01:32:18 You will know. 800-585-105. We recently found out that Lauren changed her hairstylist. And we're just opening up the phone lines and saying what would make you change your 800-585-105- **** We found out that Lauren changed her hair stylist And we're just opening up the phone lines And saying what would make you change your hair stylist That's what we're asking 800-585-105-1
Starting point is 01:32:34 Lauren said I Man All the ladies that do you so dirty Lauren you needed to change You can't even say nothing Cause I gotta respect my elders. She was an older woman. I can't even say nothing because I got to respect my elders. I'm like, woo. Right, she was an older lady too, man.
Starting point is 01:32:48 If you're just joining us, Lauren recently changed her hairstylist. And Charlamagne just asked why. Stop saying changed. I added somebody to the team. Yes. She got a wig-teing clan. That's what she called it.
Starting point is 01:33:01 So we're asking women out there, why would you change your hairstylist? All right. Now we have Mary on the line. Mary, good morning. Hi, how are you? Doing well, how are you? Good.
Starting point is 01:33:13 Why would somebody have to change their hairstylist? Yeah, I chose for Frankie, please, because he was just doing it a little bit too much. Every other word was, it was like six, seven in the morning. Like, hey, did you say your prayer this morning fly? I got out of that atmosphere. So you didn't like you didn't like God? No he wasn't giving it. I didn't like the way he used the profanity so early in the morning. Oh got you got you.
Starting point is 01:33:36 The word was a mother and a daughter in the battle like what's wrong? Oh you're calling from the you're calling from the 843 I'm here to get you. You already know what call it from the 843 I hear to get you Okay, okay, I can understand that though That's important you need to make sure like when anybody's touching your crown You do people talk to you about this have your mama talked about this like making sure that whoever touches your crown So like your hairstylist like just people that are in your head. You got to know what their energy is bringing Oh, yeah, my mother my mother and my grandmother. Yeah, because that's your hair is your wisdom So like you can't, because that's your hair is your wisdom. So like you can't just let anybody do your hair.
Starting point is 01:34:07 Spirits, the energy, all of that is transferable. Your hair is your wisdom. Now I understand why you'd be just so dumb on that side of the room. You don't have it. Lace front, LaRosa, could you hush please? Hello, who's this? Just dumb and empty and bald.
Starting point is 01:34:19 Shan, good morning, talk to us. What would make you change your hairstyle? Okay, so once I was pregnant, and Jeff you probably can completely identify with it Okay, when you're pregnant your hormones are changing so, you know it's not switchers out I booked a number in Atlanta. So these hair styles a while anyway, right? Yeah, I see you caution. Yes, ma'am I put a new stylist to treat my scalp because I'm pregnant, you know, man, I'm I'm a stylist, but treat my scalp because I'm pregnant, you know, I'm laying off the weed.
Starting point is 01:34:44 I tell her everything going on with my scalp. I get there, she's already 30 minutes late. I'm like, okay, I'm pregnant, I'm getting pregnant. I'm going to go run the trick, I'm going to grab some bricks because I don't want no you. Oh, can you grab me something? Girl, no! What? I'm size, it's a new stylist, size, okay cool.
Starting point is 01:35:02 What you want? I get you for number one. Grab her number one, I get in there, home girl, get for me. Well, your scalp is really dry, it's really flaky. Girl, I told you it's when I booked. Don't talk about me. I'm already really sensitive, because I'm pregnant.
Starting point is 01:35:18 I'm just sad that my scalp is the way it is. And you wanna talk about me the whole time, bitch? That's the double book. You gotta break it from my deal, wanna talk about me the whole time, man? Hmm. Gaps be double-bill. You gotta break it from out of your mouth, I'm fine with paying it, Steve. I would be quickly over it. And then it changed time to pay, and she wanted her full amount.
Starting point is 01:35:33 Why don't you better take that number one out of this payment? Damn! Uh-huh. Uh-huh. I be quick to do that. And that's no self. Right.
Starting point is 01:35:40 That's coming out of the money I'm paying you, you're apple-paying me. That's right. Man, women really be going through it with their hairstylist, man. That's why when you find good ones, you lock in and you use them for you apple paying me. That's right. Man, women really be going through it with their hair stylists. That's why when you find good ones, you lock in and you use them for what they good for and you keep people where they supposed to be kept at. When you get a new one, what does that mean?
Starting point is 01:35:53 That's my she's closer. It's almost, I don't want to say it like this because I love LJ, but it's like you have to have like, if my hair can't make it, my hair still got to be done. You have to have a plan B, plan C, plan D. And I got tired of randomly finding plan B, C, D. J, K, L, N, O, P, Q, R, S, Q, Z, V, W, back to i'd energy. Hey, yo, stop, yo. You guys, hair is different.
Starting point is 01:36:15 You got to be ready. I understand. We get up so early, too. Hello? Good morning. Hi, everybody. Hello. Good morning, Shay.
Starting point is 01:36:22 What would make you change your hairstylist? So I echo Lauren's inconsistency with scheduling. I've had to fire stylists and last technicians because of not honoring my scheduled appointment or not having the availability that suited my needs. Okay. So scheduling. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:42 That's fair. Okay. Let me ask you a question. How often do you go to the same hairstylist? How many times do you let her mess you up? Once. I have had my hair braided since 96. I've been wearing braids and you have one time
Starting point is 01:36:54 in order to do something really messed up on me. So what means? One time. I don't give you more often because it's expensive. You pay a couple hundred dollars for your hair. You want it to look light. That's right. And I'm asking hundred dollars for your hair, you want it to look light. That's right. And I'm asking all the women in the room,
Starting point is 01:37:06 like, so, you know, what if you like the hairstyle, but you, it don't really look good, and you don't know that till you go out into the public with it, and then people tell you. What are you trying to say? I ain't trying to say nothing, I'm just asking questions. Where did that come from? That's never, well for me, that's never happened to me.
Starting point is 01:37:21 I've never gotten my hair done, and I thought it was nice, and nobody else thought it was. I know immediately when I don't like it, That's never happened to me. I've never gotten my hair done and I thought it was nice and nobody else thought it was I I know immediately when I don't like it and that's when either I tell them they got if they don't have they got to wash it out start over or I go somewhere else and I wash it out I let them know that I don't like it though because that that those stylists still need that criticism like I showed you this and It's like what I ordered versus what I got. This ain't the same. I've never had what I ordered versus what I got, but I've had...
Starting point is 01:37:53 Choke, nobody help him. Let him die hard. Slow. Oh my God. Please. He's trying to tell you. Go is okay. But what I was wanting to say is we've tried new styles and new things and I've had to, it's a learning thing because for me, I wanted to build with stylists because this is also like a career thing as well because we do a lot outside of here, so we've tried new things and I've been like, no, like that's not your, we're not good at that. So let's get better and then let's work over here where you good at and in the meantime,
Starting point is 01:38:22 we'll figure out somebody else who's good, whatever. That one specific style. But that happened to me. So you're partially to blame just a little bit. Work over here where you good at and in the meantime, we'll figure out somebody else who's good wherever that yes But that happened to me to blame just a little bit No, because I'm very honest like I almost do my hair with the stylist. I'll be telling her all the time I know I'm annoying But maybe but you're the one job No, you're the one I gotta wear it. So I definitely get it. So like ladies is different for me I got one barber. Yeah, your barber knows you whatever you gotta have a girl for Bob's cuz everybody ain't good with them
Starting point is 01:38:48 She is kills the Bob. Okay, that is her thing. Okay. Yeah, cuz that was the girl who was doing the Bob Yes, you always say my Bob's are weird and it'd be my hair like she just lays it so well You'd be hating but yeah, she kills the Bob She kills that you learn what the stylist is good at and then the things that they're not good at. If you want to, you try to help them get better at it. If not, you just go to somebody else. But I have a backup stylist because I'm in Jersey, Maze, and Philly,
Starting point is 01:39:11 and I felt bad bringing her up here, drop of the dawn, like, especially when things will pop up. Interviews, stuff like that. She got kids. Oh, right, okay. Well, we have the latest with Lauren coming up. What were you talking about? Lauren, um...
Starting point is 01:39:23 What's the moral of the story? The moral of the story? You did all the, with Lauren coming up. What are we talking about? Lord, um... What's the moral of the story? The moral of the story? You did all... You are Lucifer. You brought all that hell. And now you sitting here like leaving on a positive note. Even the devil was disguised as an angel. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 01:39:39 Leave the positive note! I think the moral of the story is everybody is not good at everything And so every stylist And now we found out why she was coming in here looking like that for months Because she was in the hairstylist's office telling them how to do their job Okay, we know how you do Lauren. You want to show up to people's job and try to tell them how to do it Oh my god Damn damn damn
Starting point is 01:40:03 Now we got to the bottom I don't know why you're listening When I had you with the latest with Lauren you should keep going Oh my god. Damn, damn, damn. Now we got to the bottom. When I had you with the latest with Lori, you should keep going. You, well, what's the moral of the story? You just set yourself up. That's what it is. The moral of the story is everybody specializes in something different. So you may need one or two or three or four hair stylists.
Starting point is 01:40:20 No, I'm saying you got the weird girl, then you got the short pixie cut girl, then you got the bob girl, then you got the braider. Okay, you do have the weird girl. You got the short girl. Then you got the bugger. You got the braider Dude, okay, you do have the braider and yeah, that's The latest with Laura What's you choking don't worry about we got the ladies with Laura coming up don't go anywhere as the breakfast Thank You, baby the Breakfast Club Morning everybody is DJ envy just hilarious Charlamagne the guy we are the Breakfast Club. having the latest on the latest with Lauren La Rosa. Sometimes you have details. Sometimes you have a little bit of everything.
Starting point is 01:41:08 What was the latest on the Breakfast Club? So the Breakfast Club, we had a conversation about who Clarissa Shields should fight next. And you guys mentioned a fighter named Shadeja Green out of New Jersey.
Starting point is 01:41:21 And last night they exchanged some conversation on X. So it stemmed from an interview that Clarissa Shields recently did with Ariel and Addie. I probably said that wrong, sorry. But let's take a listen to them asking Clarissa about Shadeja. A very interesting fight is the fight against Shadeja Green.
Starting point is 01:41:39 I spoke to Shadeja earlier today and she was extremely respectful towards you and even said she hates the fact that her mentioning you is taken as some sort of slight. Stop it. I call bulls**t. I've been wanting to fight Shadeja. She lost to Franchon and she got over there with MVP and decided that, you know, I wasn't
Starting point is 01:41:57 the greatest woman of all time when I've been in conversation with Shadeja since we were in the amateurs and she knows I'm the best boxer she's ever been inside the ring with and that she's ever spar with as far as in a woman form. She knows that and she's told me that. And she gets with MVP, now everything changes and I got pillow fists and I don't knock nobody out. So therefore when you get to disrespecting me, I'm gonna disrespect you.
Starting point is 01:42:22 And Shadasha knows and I know that our will paradise Wow I like this Responded to this video on X and she said never thought the quote would be scared. But since you were scared I didn't say I want any fights in between you can run but but at 175 you can't high as I said today I will come to your weight class and get it on Clarissa there was a feedback. After Shadeja fought at the garden. I was at that fight after she fought at the garden a couple of weeks ago at the post conference.
Starting point is 01:42:52 She talked about wanting to fight Clarissa. Well, Clarissa responded and said, I could never be scared of someone who let someone spit on them. Then not only that y'all fight and you let her whoop you too. After telling everyone she spit on me, and then she added Shadayjah, she said, you softer than cotton candy baby. And then Shadayjah, there was a lot of back and forth
Starting point is 01:43:11 yesterday, wow. Yes, it got a little crazy on X. Anything crazy was said, like crazier than that? Like I don't wanna hear the cotton candy, like all right, but like anything, anybody say something like, what? Shadayjah said shut up before I knock Papu's hat off. Ha ha!
Starting point is 01:43:26 She did say it. That's what she said? She did, no she did not say that. Drop that music, what she say? She reached out, she wanna come up on the show, but yeah, she reached out. Okay. Cool. Shadeja? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:37 Okay. She from Paterson, she right over there. Right over there. I think that'll be a great fight. You know, Clarissa is, you know, she's the main attraction, right? She's the headliner. And then, you know you know Clarissa is you know she's the main attraction right she's the headliner yeah and then you know I love the way that MVP promotes events like that that event we went to at the Garden we didn't big them up MVP
Starting point is 01:43:52 promotions that all-woman card they had with a you know Taylor and Serrano headline that was a phenomenal card just being at the event top to bottom was it was it was a great great great look I. It really looked amazing there. I think it'd be a fun fight to have those two fight. The Puerto Ricans had the Garden Rockin'. You were there long. I was. It was crazy. You were hiding.
Starting point is 01:44:12 Like it stank? I was sitting right next to Eli. You said they had the Garden Rockin'. It was this. And they were all like, yo, the energy was crazy. You said it was loud, yo. You said you had the gut rocking. But other fights that have been picked online recently, I wanted to get into this when it
Starting point is 01:44:30 dropped but we'll do it down. The hip hop media power ranking that Complex dropped, 2025, did you guys see that? So on the list, Charlamagne, congratulations, you made the list. Thank you. Joe Budden's also on the list. DJ Head is on the list as well too. Congratulations to him. What is the list. Thank you. Joe Budden is also on the list. DJ Head is on the list as well too. Congratulations to him. What is the list? It is the basically the most powerful voices in hip-hop media. Kai Sanat is on the list as well. He leads the list. You have Black Boy Max on this list. Andrew Martinez, Angela Yee, Ndeska is here as well. They left off
Starting point is 01:45:03 a lot of names. I thought Bag Fuel should have been on there, S.O. and Heineken. Sleutera. I don't know how you do any hip hop media list in 2025 and you don't put the great Gina Views on there. Drop one of Clues Bonds for Gina Views. Y'all can kiss my ass on Gina Views. When it comes to hip hop,
Starting point is 01:45:18 like I'm talking about it as a hip hop personality, talking that hip hop talk. Yes. I don't think nobody better than Gina right now. They also had Elliot Wilson on the list. They have, I mentioned it at the desk already, Big Boy is on the list as well speaking of the West Coast. And they mentioned in the beginning that they knew that this was going to cause controversy. It does every year. But they talk about how they split it up this year into people who do what you said Gina does, right? Like really get into like the
Starting point is 01:45:42 hip-hop like the rankings and the albums. They probably sat down and talked to the clips. But then on the other side. Gina breaks down lyrics. Gina has great interviews with rappers and just great conversation and POV about hip hop. She's spoke stuff. Like I go to listen to Gina views because of her hip hop takes.
Starting point is 01:45:58 That's what I like Gina for. And they say on the other side, they mentioned the streamers and stuff, because you know, media is just different now. Like new media and like the way even the coverage of the Diddy Trial, they talk about how the streamers take you into this in real life world.
Starting point is 01:46:11 But like people taking you into the trial and just their worlds in general and being able to show you things in a different way that traditional media can't has become a thing. So they had to make sure they show love to the streamers and people on social as well too. I do wish whoever made those lists actually,
Starting point is 01:46:25 looked at what people actually do, because I don't think they do at all. They got Shannon Sharp up on there. Shannon Sharp is on there and Joe and Jada is on here. I think. But I'm talking about when you read the bios of why they chose people, it's never like, they don't ever go into detail about what it is
Starting point is 01:46:37 people actually do. Like they referenced Neon interview for me. I'm like, huh? Yeah, it's just, for you, which is stupid. But anyway, so to everybody on that complex list, and that is the latest with Lauren. Now let's get to the mix, the people's choice mix. Don't go anywhere, it's the Breakfast Club.

And listen, you know we were talking about the complex list too. Lauren LaRosa should have been on the complex list. If you're talking about Diddy coverage? Like she was covering Diddy, who covered Diddy better than Lauren in hip hop? Nobody.
Starting point is 01:47:36 Like, come on. Not even just in hip hop, I think she covered it the best out of anybody. Old age experience. Yeah, I mean, there was, I mean you had like the CNNs and the NBCs of the world calling Lauren to come on and talk about, you know, what was going on at the Diddy trial. So yeah, I'm just saying if that was one of the criteria, I don't know how somebody like Lauren LaRosa
Starting point is 01:47:56 don't make the list. But it's always like, you know, these lists are like ass****. It's just a list. That's right. Everybody got one. You know what I mean? Whatever. It's just somebody's opinion. That's right. Everybody got one. It's just a list. You know what I mean? Whatever, it's just somebody's opinion. That's right. God bless. Again, I'm reminding you guys,

Starting point is 01:49:12 She once said that optimism, optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. Have a great day. Who heard her say that? Did she hear herself say that in the question? Who heard her say it? Leave me alone.
Starting point is 01:49:28 Because if she was deaf, how could she ever hear something to say? She wrote. Oh. Yes, I think. Exactly. No, she didn't say that. All right, it was Morgan Freeman then.
