Starting point is 00:00:00 Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:00:16 What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. We need help! That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast
Starting point is 00:00:46 Post Run High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Hey, y'all. Niminy here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Executive produced by Questlove, The Story Pirates, and John Glickman, Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different, inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it.
Starting point is 00:02:17 And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was called a woman. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone. Apple Podcasts, or wherever
Starting point is 00:03:12 you listen to podcasts. Good morning, USA. Bless Black and Holly favorite. Always. That's always the top line. Yes. What's happening though? Yeah, nah, everything is good. Shout out to everybody in Orlando. I'm actually in Orlando. The Orlando Magic had HBCU night, so I was DJing last night, which is always great. You know, anything for the HBCUs, I try to pull up and try to push. And then here,
Starting point is 00:03:59 I'm here in town for the Classic this weekend, which is another huge weekend for different universities that play each other. But I just want to shout out to Nicole. Right now, Nicole was at the game last night. I believe she is Townsend's who play for the Minnesota Timberwolves. I believe he's a family member, but she was screaming my name last night at the game and I walked over. Amazing message. And I just wanted to shout out Nicole. She said that, um,
Starting point is 00:04:26 that she was going through an abusive relationship and her listening to my, the podcast I did with my wife and our book really got her through. It really helped her out really to, to, to help her clarify things. And people always ask, well, why did you write so much in a book? Why was it so much personal moments like that? Just so, cause you never know what somebody's going through and how you can help somebody and how you being vulnerable can can help them in their situation and she said it saved her from an abusive relationship so drop a bomb for nicole i just wanted to salute her i seen her message this morning when i woke up and it made me smile so i just wanted to salute that young lady so good morning nicole
Starting point is 00:05:03 good morning how was your evening, Angelique? Yesterday was good. I was actually at this conference yesterday. I had to talk on a panel with Ryan Seacrest. So that was my day. Because you know how sometimes the way your schedule is set up, something might be in the middle of the day, so it doesn't make sense to go home.
Starting point is 00:05:22 So you end up sleeping. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Now I know this new job is a lie, if that was your day. If that's all you had to do yesterday, but you apparently, you allegedly are leaving soon. I doubt,
Starting point is 00:05:36 I don't believe this. I really don't believe this. Well, I'm talking about in person, that's all I had to do. In person. You know, everybody does stuff on Zoom nowadays. So you end up going home, doing three Zooms. But it was at like 3 o'clock in the afternoon. So, you know, the show was over.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Everything was done at 11. I was like, if I go back to Brooklyn, then I got to go back to Midtown. So I just ended up staying in the city all day. Mashanda was in town. So we went to go to lunch. We had some Mediterranean food. Then I went there. You had some drinks?
Starting point is 00:06:05 No. I had an espresso. Do we believe this new show is happening? No. That's like you saying Angelina not having drinks too? Come on now. I fell asleep last night at 8 o'clock. I woke up this morning with like 40 text messages and half of them about the show.
Starting point is 00:06:21 I was like, damn, I gotta get on with it. Boy, that was the biggest lie you ever told in your life just now. Nobody believes that. What, that I fell asleep early? I was like, damn, I got to get on it. That's a damn lie. Boy, that was the biggest lie you ever told in your life just now. Nobody believes that. What, that I fell asleep early? I believe that. That part I believe. The part about the text messages and people, 20 people about the new show. I don't believe it.
Starting point is 00:06:33 I can, I screenshotted and posted. Everything was like, Nita, I got to get my logo done. So there's a few different people working on that. It's a lot. I believe it when I see it. I got some segments. I got to get the see it. I got to get the imaging done. I got to get the music for each of my segments. I have to get the clocks right.
Starting point is 00:06:51 It's a lot of different things happening. It's starting to get real Tommy and Martin-ish. Yeah, allegedly the show will happen in a couple of months. Allegedly she's leaving in two weeks, but we'll see. Way up with Angela Yee starting in January, and I am leaving. I got one more week left after this week. One more week, and then I'm done. You have two weeks left, ma'am.
Starting point is 00:07:10 No, I don't. Nope. One week. One week means you're out after Thanksgiving vacation. We're on vacation next week. That doesn't even count. So two weeks. You got two weeks.
Starting point is 00:07:19 You ain't going nowhere. All right. Your alleged last day is the 2nd of December. Alleged. No, it's real. It was supposed to be tomorrow. They pushed it back. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:07:30 She's not lying to the people. Let's get the show cracking. EYL will be joining us this morning. Earn your leisure. Our guys, Rashad and Troy, and Master Ian, Ian Dunlap, the master investor, will be with them, too. Yeah, we're going to be kicking it with EYL. And then you got front page news. Yes, and we are going to be talking about the House of Representatives and the projections for that.
Starting point is 00:07:51 It looks like Republicans are going to take control of the House. All right, we'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country.
Starting point is 00:08:04 I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Starting point is 00:08:22 Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana Craigman country. My fore of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I create my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warheads. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:08:37 What is that? Bullets. Bullet holes. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast.
Starting point is 00:08:49 That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. You know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout? Well, that's when the real magic happens. So if you love hearing real, inspiring stories from the people you know, follow,
Starting point is 00:09:36 and admire, join me every week for Post Run High. It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves, for self-preservation and protection. it was literally that step by step.
Starting point is 00:10:26 And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So y'all, this is Questlove and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records.
Starting point is 00:11:06 It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all.
Starting point is 00:11:25 Niminy here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was called a moment. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Dani Shapiro, host of the hit podcast, Family Secrets. How would you feel if when you met your biological father for the first time, he didn't even say hello? And how would you feel if your doctor advised you to keep your life-altering medical procedure a secret from everyone? And what if your past itself was a secret and the time had suddenly come to share that past with your child?
Starting point is 00:12:54 These are just a few of the powerful and profound questions we'll be asking on our 11th season of Family Secrets. Some of you have been with us since season one and others are just tuning in. Whatever the case and wherever you are, thank you for being part of our Family Secrets family where every week we explore the secrets
Starting point is 00:13:14 that are kept from us, the secrets we keep from others, and the secrets we keep from ourselves. Listen to season 11 of Family Secrets on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Now, the Packers are playing the Titans in Thursday night football tonight at 815. Now, what else we got, Yeezy? All right. Well well the Republicans are projected to retake control of the house and that's after a key win so that just means they have to have 218 seats and they have at least that now all the numbers aren't in yet but they are retaking control of the house in the midterm elections that is breaking the Democrats unified control
Starting point is 00:14:01 of the federal government so we already know that the Democrats won control of the federal government. So we already know that the Democrats won control of the Senate, but Republicans taking over the House in January, now they'll be able to block White House legislative priorities, decide what bills come to the chamber floor. They'll have the opportunity to launch committee investigations into the Biden administration.
Starting point is 00:14:20 One of the things they've already been saying they intend to do is to investigate Hunter Biden, Joe Biden's son. And they also plan to look into policies on covid and also the southern border. Yeah, that's why I didn't understand, you know, why Democrats were celebrating so hard. I know they didn't you know, there wasn't a red wave, but, you know, it's not like the Democrats lost, but they didn't necessarily win either. You know, as my girl Tesla Figaro said last night on social media, the House of Representatives is controlled by the Republicans, and the Senate is still controlled by Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.
Starting point is 00:14:53 So basically, Republicans control both the House and the Senate. Anything else is just optics. Right, and you know, President Joe Biden does have low approval ratings. A lot of that has to do with inflation The lowest With crime And historical trends of the opposition party usually doing well is what's going on here So people did not even think that the Democrats would be able to keep control of the Senate
Starting point is 00:15:19 And even under President Obama, he did lose control of the House of Representatives as well. So, you know, it's going to block a lot of things from being able to be taken to the floor. And they'll also do a lot of distractions, maybe even investigations that they know is not going to come to anything. But that that also is trying to keep scandals front and center. So that'll make it difficult for Joe Biden to focus on policy issues. Yeah. And I mean, saying they got control of the Senate, I mean, the Senate is sketchy too because of Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Like, you know, they're Democratic name only for the most part. All right, well, we'll see what happens with this, but it is going to make things a lot more difficult. But I think it was also kind of what was expected too. So the House leader is California Rep Kevin McCarthy. He was nominated by his colleagues
Starting point is 00:16:11 to be the next speaker. That's the chamber's top position. That's second in line to the presidency. He said, I'm proud to announce the era of one party Democrat rule in Washington is over.
Starting point is 00:16:20 And then he tweeted out last night, Americans are ready for a new direction and House Republicans are ready to deliver. Alright. Well, that is front page news. Get it off your
Starting point is 00:16:31 chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Let's go. Starting point is 00:20:43 Hey, Manny. Yeah, I got a record with Troy. Yeah, I sent it to you. And you haven't played it on the air, you know? That's a sense of entitlement right there, brother. Lord have mercy. You can let me on Instagram, too, at Manny Raps. All right, do your part live. Do your part live right now.

Starting point is 00:21:30 That's such a sense of entitlement. I sent you my record and you ain't playing it yet. Like, man. How about I sent you a record I would like if you would play it? I would like if you listened to it. I would like if you would listen to it. The name of the record is such and such. Just a sense of entitlement.
Starting point is 00:21:44 You ain't playing yet. Hello, who's this? My comedy buddy. Oh, boy. Woo, Snack Man, what's up? How are you? I'm good. How are you?
Starting point is 00:21:54 I got your letter. It's snack time, girl. Hey, you ready? Yep. I guess so. Let's go to low energy. Come on, Snack Man, we ready. You take it too long.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Let's go. We all know there are side effects to the COVID vaccine. And according to the science, pregnant women that get vaccinated, when they give birth. Where'd he go? Oh, my God. When they give birth, the baby is born with a mask. Thank you. Can't believe Snack Man's still out here just telling jokes for no damn reason.
Starting point is 00:22:30 He wakes up and thinks of those and then thinks to save them to people. Wow. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. Now, we got rumors on the way? Man, and you know what? We do have Earn Your Leisure coming up today,
Starting point is 00:22:43 but before that happens, let's talk about some celebrities who are being sued. And that is for promoting FTX Crypto. That includes Tom Brady, Shaq, Steph Curry, Larry David, and more. All right. We'll get to that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club let's get to the rule lawsuits oh she's spilling the tea this is the rumor report with angela yee on the breakfast club all right a group of investors have filed a lawsuit against FTX founders Sam and Bankman Freed and other celebrities who promoted that crypto exchange. And that's all because, you know, it has collapsed. That's one of the biggest stories that's been out there right now when it comes to crypto. The people who are being sued include Shaq, Tom Brady, Steph Curry, Larry David and more. So they're saying this whole thing was basically like a Ponzi scheme. You know, Kevin O'Leary from Shark Tank
Starting point is 00:23:50 and the entire franchise of the Golden State Warriors who appeared in a Super Bowl ad for the exchange, they're being sued because they, quote, controlled, promoted, assisted in, or actively participated in FTX in some capacity. I don't think that's fair. Yeah, I mean, this is why you have to do your due diligence before you endorse things.
Starting point is 00:24:10 But, I mean, clearly FTX looked super official. I mean, with all those people, yeah. I don't think that's fair because they paid them to advertise and I'm sure they gave them shares or whatever it was. And when it goes down, I'm sure they didn't call Steph Curry and be like, pull out now, pause. You know, that ain't right. You know, remember that kind of happened with the Fyre Festival too. They had all these influencers posting about it and then when that
Starting point is 00:24:32 collapsed, they sued a lot of those ambassadors for the Fyre Festival too. But that's not fair. They pay you for something that you think is going to happen. You don't know it's going to be a sham or something that's fake. You don't know that the person is not doing correct business. You don't know that. They to be you know a sham or something that's fake you don't know that the person is not doing correct business you don't know that they're paying you there's no way for you to know that though and what's sad about that if you got got by ftx you blame no celebrities more than you blame the people that are actually behind ftx because you don't really know those people you just know the celebrity that endorsed it and probably made you want to invest in it yeah and you know with that whole situation uh the way that ftx crashed there was a leaked
Starting point is 00:25:07 balance sheet and it showed that a good chunk of their asset were in tokens that they created themselves and that's when the investigation went on and that's when binance who was their biggest competitor announced plans to sell off most of their tokens that's what caused a huge drop in price so it's kind of something you couldn't predict happening, and why would they know? That ain't right. Now, Tia Murray was on the Today Show yesterday, and she talked about the moment that she decided
Starting point is 00:25:35 to end her 14-year marriage with Corey Hart. Here's what she had to say. My marriage was a success. Yeah. I look at it as like a curriculum when you're in college or high school, right? You're learning, you're growing, you're evolving, you're creating. And I was able to create with Corey some beautiful, amazing children.
Starting point is 00:25:56 And at the end of that curriculum and at the end, there's a graduation, there's a celebration. So that's basically, you know, how I'm looking at it now. And I feel like people look at, when they look at marriage, that success equals longevity, but no, at the end of the day, it's, are they happy? Yeah, she's right. That's the most important thing. That's a great way to look at it. Yeah. You have to be happy. If you're not happy anymore, something in that relationship is not making you happy, you have to reevaluate the situation. And for her, it was successful, like she said.
Starting point is 00:26:27 And so I'm sure she's still processing things. I'm sure she's been processing things. And it sounds hopeful for the future for both of them to be happy. So that's what her comments were on the Today Show. And speaking of relationships. I still think longevity in a marriage equals success if both parties are still happy during that longevity, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:47 And, you know, Charlamagne and I will both tell you, it takes, it's work. A marriage is work. I mean, it's, you have to work on your marriage and make sure you continue to date and make sure that both sides are continuously happy. And sometimes it's not. It's all it's about. All right. Now let's talk about Jess Hilarious. She was on the Don't call me white girl
Starting point is 00:27:06 podcast and she was talking about they have a segment on there where you talk about your craziest dm dark side of the dm it's called and here's what she said so this guy's a celebrity blue check in the dm this dm'd me and wanted to fly me out so i could f**k the ass? Yes, but not with a dildo. This thought I was a man. He really did think I was a, yep, he thought I was a transgender. She just won the competition, didn't she? He was very drunk with he was. What the fuck is wrong with him?
Starting point is 00:27:38 I was like, wow. If he made the deal seem pretty juicy, you know, let's say you single and, you know, maybe offered you you single and, you know, maybe offered you $100,000. Would you have put a strap on the f***ing man? Absolutely. What do you mean? Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Girl, yeah. I was trying to go find a d***. It was money involved. I just couldn't find one. Have you ever used a strap on somebody? No. I was trying to practice all this s***. But I think I was more insulted because he thought I was a man.
Starting point is 00:28:01 So I was like, f*** a bit. Wow. I think y'all missed the bleeper too right there. Yeah, bleeper too. This is Transgender Awareness Week too as well. Just want to put that out there. I seen that on Google this morning. When you type in your Google, it pops right up. First of all, stop playing with my good sister
Starting point is 00:28:15 Jess Hilarious, okay? I hate when folks try to say she looks like a man or has manly features. Jess is a beautiful black woman and whoever hit her up for some ass is an ass for assuming that she's a transgender. How are you just going to assume someone's gender identity? How? Well,
Starting point is 00:28:32 yeah, that was her dark side of the DM story. I hope Jess speaks more to that on the Carefully Reckless podcast that you can listen to on the Black Effect iHeartRadio podcast network. You don't assume somebody's gender identity. Is that a question you even asked, though? She did say she did go to try to find one Heart Radio Podcast Network. You don't assume somebody's gender identity. Is that a question you even asked, though?
Starting point is 00:28:47 She did say she did go to try to find one to actually do that. Because it was the money that was offered. I think they offered her a nice bag. I wonder how much you could pay somebody for them to feel like this is worth it. I thought they said $100,000. No, she made that
Starting point is 00:29:04 No, don't call me white girl. What if it was like $100,000 No she made that No Don't Call Me White Girl said what if it was like $100,000 they offered you And she said there was money involved She didn't say how much Salute to Don't Call Me White Girl too she's highly entertaining Drop on the Clues Bonds for Don't Call Me White Girl And drop on the Clues Bonds for my good sister Jess Hilarious
Starting point is 00:29:19 Absolutely Shout out to both of them Alright well I'm Angela Yee and that is your rumor report. All right. We got front page news next. What are we talking about? And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history, like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was Claudette Colvin. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Dani Shapiro, host of the hit podcast, Family Secrets. These are just a few of the powerful and profound questions we'll be asking on our 11th season of Family Secrets. Some of you have been with us since season one, and others are just tuning in. Starting point is 00:35:39 F-A-S-T-J-N-V-A-N-G-E-L-A-E. Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get some front page news. Now on Thursday Night Football, Green Bay takes on the Titans tonight at 8.15. Now what else we got, Yeezy? All right, Elon Musk has sent out an email early yesterday. He asked Twitter employees to commit to long hours or he said they will be fired.
Starting point is 00:36:04 He said going forward to build a breakthrough Twitter 2.0 and succeed in an increasingly competitive world. We will need to be extremely hardcore. This will mean working long hours at high intensity. Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade. And the email was titled a fork in the road. And the forum asked for the staff to click yes on the pledge to the new Twitter. And if they fail to do it by the deadline, they'll be fired with three months severance pay.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Yeah. I'm not the highest grade of weed in the dispensary, but it seems like Twitter is a toxic work environment. It feels that way for some reason. They said people were scrubbing their slacks because, um, before the takeover, if there was anything negative that they said about Elon Musk, they didn't want that to get discovered
Starting point is 00:36:47 and to be fired for that. There's other jobs. There's got to be other jobs in the tech world, right? You don't have to put up with that kind of punishment, right? Come on, man. Some of those people have been working there for a while, though. That's all they know. They've been working there for so
Starting point is 00:37:03 long, you know? I don't care. You know what's all they know they've been working there for for so long you know i don't care you know what some people are still excited to want to work for elon musk to be honest like some people are like yes i'm gonna go for it i'm gonna work long hours i'll sleep in the office damn that's wild god bless you all right now let's discuss amazon amazon has been laying off employees. According to reports, they are planning to lay off 10,000 employees. But before that, they are encouraging employees to sign up for this voluntary severance. November 29th. They have until that date to resign. And then their last day of employment will be December 23rd. In exchange for leaving the company, they'll get a lump sum severance payment equal to three years of pay. They'll get one week of salary for every six months of tenure at the company. And then they'll also be given a weekly stipend for 12 weeks, which can be used to offset COBRA premiums and their insurance will continue through the end of December.
Starting point is 00:38:05 So they have until November 29th to resign and they have until December 5th to withdraw their application if they change their mind. Yeah, we would answer, but we only heard some of that. That's the reason why. It's not like he was frying chicken. Envy's breaking up too.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Yeah, that grease was popping just now. Definitely popping. All right, well. There you go. And it makes no sense for me to say that. I told you I'll stay out the kitchen. I told you I'll stay out the kitchen or that grease was going to pop. You right.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Mama said it, too. Why are you so close to that stove? You right. Hey, I do want to salute to Karen Bass, too, man. Drop on the Clues Bonds for Karen Bass. She was elected first woman mayor of Los Angeles. Yes. Black woman.
Starting point is 00:38:47 She defeated billionaire Rick Caruso. And I think Rick Caruso spent like $100 million on his campaign. Wow. She didn't have anywhere near that. So I like those kind of stories because it shows in some places democracy still works. And you can't just buy elections, you know. So salute to Karen Bass. Yeah, it seems like far and few, though.
Starting point is 00:39:05 But yeah, salute to her, man. All right. Now, when we come back, EYL will be joining us. We're going to kick it with the brothers from Earn Your Leisure. Don't move. And Ian Dunlap. The master investor will be with them. Yep.
Starting point is 00:39:16 And Ian Dunlap. Boy, he's part of Earn Your Leisure. But it's the Breakfast Club. The Breakfast Club. Power 105.1. The Breakfast Club Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlemagne Tha God Morning everybody, it's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlemagne Tha God
Starting point is 00:39:35 We are The Breakfast Club We got some special guests in the building The brothers from EYL Rashad and Troy and the master investor Ian Dunlap His hair was happening my people What's going on brother Long time no see I just want to say Ian Dunlap looks official
Starting point is 00:39:51 Ian always looks official When did Ian not look official I'm just saying Ian St. Patrick today Ian don't got no regular clothes And nothing but suits You gotta dress how you want to be dressed That's a fact you heard what dressed. That's a fact.
Starting point is 00:40:05 You heard what he said? No, that's real. Say it again. You gotta dress how you wanna be dressed. That's real. I heard that. But Mark and Mondays, man.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Tell us about that at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden on November 27th. Yes, yes. So it's really, really big. Not only just, you know, we're doing a show
Starting point is 00:40:20 in Madison Square Garden on Black Friday weekend. That's obviously tremendously important for the city and for the culture. But I think that it just speaks volumes of where we're at a show in Madison Square Garden on Black Friday weekend. That's obviously tremendously important for the city and for the culture. But I think that it just speaks volumes of where we're at right now, where we can sell out a venue like, you know, MSG Hulu Theater. And we're not rapping. We're not playing basketball. We're teaching about financial literacy, but it's a vibe.
Starting point is 00:40:39 So, you know, it's something that's extremely encouraging and really, really dope to see so many people enthusiastic about it. And it's going to be a night to remember. I actually want to say something, if I can, a surprise that we're going to break. Yeah, break. Okay, okay, okay. Nobody's heard this news before. This is the save this for this moment.
Starting point is 00:41:00 So, all right. So our shows are vibes. You've been to Investors. Education and vibes. Oh, you haven't been to a show yet. No, thanks. You got to come, brother. Yeah, I right. So our shows are vibes. You've been to Investor. Education and vibes. Oh, you haven't been to a show yet. No, thanks. You gotta come, brother.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Yeah, I mean, it was insane. We couldn't even walk down the hallway. Yeah, this is true. But that's because Steve Harvey was there and they were like, just because of Steve,
Starting point is 00:41:15 Jesus Christ. Steve was there because of them. He's our partner. They were like, no one could go in the hallway right now. I was back there
Starting point is 00:41:23 with Rashad's mom. That's a fact. But so for Madison Square, we got a dope lineup. We got my guy Mouse Jones to open it up with Trap Karaoke. Trap DJ Suss on the one and twos. Sussy in the city. Yes, yes, yes. So we got Peter Tuckman.
Starting point is 00:41:43 He's the Einstein of Wall Street. The guy's been on Wall Street for like 30 years. He's a genius when it comes to stock investing. We got Don Peebles, who's a billionaire, real estate developer, working on building the first black-owned skyscraper in New York City. And then we got our guy Jadakiss to perform. I thought it would be only right to have Jadakiss in the building. We got to.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Ian is going to give his masterful performance. But you're going to perform too? No, I'm going to teach. No, I'm kidding. I try to make sure in the education that it is entertaining. Because we've all been to seminars and it's really boring. So I'll be covering the 25 stocks to invest in and 50 to stay away from. The two crypto I like, the 10 to stay away from.
Starting point is 00:42:21 And how to make $22,000 a day from trading. But I have to make some calls. We got a little special guest coming in. Yeah, yeah. So we're going to have a sit-down conversation with none other than the champ, Floyd Money Mayweather. Wow.
Starting point is 00:42:34 He'll be in the building. Isn't he invested in skyscrapers too in New York? Absolutely. I think that's one of the things people overlook, right? They see him spending money, but they don't realize what he's doing in business. So the commercial real estate is something. He's also invested in NASCAR.
Starting point is 00:42:48 He has a lot. His portfolio is so expansive, but people tend to overlook that. And so to sit down with him to go over that. And I feel like he's wanted to talk about it for so long, but people just, you know, they just want to hear boxing. But like now he has a great mind and a great business.
Starting point is 00:43:01 He got the tallest building in New York. He's part of the 93 story Vanderbilt. Yeah. You know, so his portfolio, he has that under his portfolio. But there's like eight other skyscrapers in New York that nobody even thinks of. Floyd Mayweather when they think of it, but he's definitely part of it. And he changed the game for sports, too. He's the first guy to make $100 million in one fight, $200 million.
Starting point is 00:43:21 You know, the way he revolutionized boxing and being his own entity as a business as opposed to everybody else that was working with promoters for such a long period of time. And him and Al Heyman, what they've been able to do on the business side, I don't think he gets enough credit for it. And he has an all-black team, too. When you look at Al Heyman, when you look at Leonard Ellerbee, I don't think Floyd actually gets enough credit
Starting point is 00:43:42 for his business acumen. So to have a conversation with Champ at Madison Square Garden is going to be legendary. Mayweather and Jadakiss, boy, two champs. Two champs. Definitely two champs. He's going to bring them out. I wonder what has more impact for y'all nowadays. Is it the podcast or the live shows?
Starting point is 00:43:59 Because y'all killing with the live shows. Like you did the Garden. Y'all sold out London with InvestFest. Like you had 12,000 in Atlanta. 14,000. I'm did the Garden, y'all sold out London with Invest Fest. Like, you know, you had 12,000 in Atlanta. 14,000. I'm sorry, 14,000 in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:44:09 How many in London? About 4,000. 4,000? Like what's having more impact for y'all now? If I can speak freely, I think a combination of both. Of course,
Starting point is 00:44:17 they built one of the biggest podcasts in history. But I think when you get a chance to talk to people in person, it's one thing that I've prided myself on and they have as well as like making time for the people interacting shaking hands and kissing babies so I think it's a
Starting point is 00:44:31 combination of both that you need to do in order to have a sustainable model for the long term and he's changed the game too I want to give him his credit because he changed the game as far as like performing so when I say he's performing I really mean he's performing. He came to InvestFest with 200 people on stage and a mask and smoking. He was asking for all this stuff, and I'm like, yo, bro, you bugging out. But then I realized. Don't you forgot the tank?
Starting point is 00:44:57 Yeah, I wanted guns. He wanted guns and everything. I'm a wrestling fan. I wanted to do some of the DX. I saw you do this thing. So I wanted to have those kind of things in there. Because when we go to seminars, I've never heard anybody say, I went to a seminar and, man, I had a blast. You may learn something.
Starting point is 00:45:14 So taking those elements from rap, Wu-Tang, Pac, WWE, WCW, and blending them all in, plus teaching you how to make money, I think is a formula. Because boring is always going to push our people away. And if we want our people to how to make money, I think is a formula because boring is always, is going to push our people away. And if we want our people to be interested in money investing, we have to package it in an entertaining fashion. We got more from EYL.
Starting point is 00:45:35 When we come back, don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with the brothers from EYL. Earn your leisure. Yee. Now, since you guys are here We are The Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with the brothers from EYL. Earn your leisure.
Starting point is 00:45:46 Yee. Now, since you guys are here, you know we got to talk about some things. Oh, f***. Here she go. Here she go. This is finance. This is your field because y'all just brought up crypto. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:55 Okay. FTX. FTX. Yes. So I want to talk about that for you to break that down because the other day we reported this guy basically lost his 15.6 billion dollar fortune sam bakeman free and so how did that happen and does that mean because i know we sat up here and talked about it people are already scared of crypto i know envy was like i'm glad i didn't you know and i know charlotte and you haven't invested in crypto either right
Starting point is 00:46:20 no but i mean i believe in crypto i just don't think that all of these different currencies will go to sustain what do you believe in um bitcoin seemed like the most stable one smart yeah smart all right so let's talk about that and what that actually means because it did it did make a lot of people be like see i told you that's why i didn't do it to give people a full um explanation of what actually happened so sam he had an exchange called FTX and they have a currency called FTT. So it's like, if you're familiar with the crypto world, you ever heard of Binance? So Binance is like the largest global platform
Starting point is 00:46:53 when it comes to crypto and they have a Binance coin. So FTT was a native currency for FTX. So what ended up happening is that a report was published that FTX held a suspicious amount of FTT currency. From the competitor. And it made Binance, who actually had a lot of FTT coins, publicly announced that they were going to be selling their FTT coins because they wasn't comfortable with the situation.
Starting point is 00:47:20 So Binance kind of ruined them. Well, kind of. I'm going to go there for you then. So once Binance put that out, everybody got scared. Everybody thought that this coin is going to fall apart. So now you got to run on the bank and everybody's trying to pull their coins out. There wasn't enough liquidity to cover everybody trying to pull their money out. So when that happened, that collapsed the coin overnight, which collapsed the exchange overnight, which collapsed his fortune overnight.
Starting point is 00:47:47 He lost fourteen point six billion dollars in one day. So, yeah. But I mean, what does it do for crypto long term? Like you said, a lot of people have fear around it. I think regulation comes because people are not going to stand to see money being lost. Obviously, hedge funds and managers have lost money, but people have lost money. And the more people lose money and bigwigs lose money,
Starting point is 00:48:08 regulation will come at some point to say, all right, this can't happen again. Ian, are you holding on to your crypto? I'm holding on to Bitcoin and Ethereum. I like Ripple as well, but outside of that, I'm not touching it. I mean, I told people last year when it was at 60,000,
Starting point is 00:48:21 Bitcoin was going to come down to 20. We're a little bit underneath that. I think Ethereum is going to hit a low. I think Bitcoin may actually hit maybe 60,000, Bitcoin was going to come down to 20. We're a little bit underneath that. I think Ethereum is going to hit a low. I think Bitcoin may actually hit maybe 95, 9,583. That's the price I'm looking to add some more considerably. So you think it's still worth buying?
Starting point is 00:48:35 On sale. If you're holding it long term. Now do you think Sam can come back from this? He's done. Damn! He's done. Where is he going to get money from? Okay, done. Damn. He's done. Where is he going to get money from?
Starting point is 00:48:46 Let's look at it like this. He has an entire financial industry against him. He ruined crypto. When you take money from clients and move it over here,
Starting point is 00:48:54 not legal, and in every, this is the biggest point, in every recession and scandal, you need a fall guy. He is going to end up being the Bernie Madoff
Starting point is 00:49:04 of crypto so with bernie people knew what he were doing for years there were whistleblowers that were talking about it for five or six years it wasn't until the recession when they really put that fire out and made him be the face of it bernie ran the nasdaq for many years and they knew what was happening here with ftx and FTT. I think unfortunately because we're in a recession now, even though they won't announce it, he'll be the fraud guy for crypto.
Starting point is 00:49:30 Wow. You think he can go to jail? You did say it's fraud. I mean, we have to see. Yeah. You got to be careful. You got to be careful when you just,
Starting point is 00:49:37 we can't just say that legally because we don't really know. It's alleged. But you just got to wait and see. Why are valuations so important? Because I'm just realizing that people don't realize when they see these numbers, like, oh, such and such is worth $3 million. I mean, $3 billion or $4 billion.
Starting point is 00:49:52 He lost $14 billion overnight. You know what's so crazy about the Kanye? Your guy, Ye. Uh-oh, Sean. You know what's so crazy about that is the day that they announced that he lost all of his money, the day before that, I was in L.A., me, Troy, and 19 Keys. Shout out to Keys. And we was talking, and I'm like, I have a strong suspicion that probably 90% or 80% of his wealth is in his company.
Starting point is 00:50:20 Before any of this happened, and I'm just thinking the kind of person that I think he might be. I don't really see him having a lot of money invested in stock. And, you know, he said that $150 million was taken out of Chase or they told him that they didn't want his money. So that probably has like $150 million of liquid in a bank account. And then he'll probably have some real estate. And I think he owns like 5% of Skims. And that will probably lead you to have $400 million.
Starting point is 00:50:42 But then it's like when you see billions of dollars, that billions of dollars is a little misleading because he doesn't have billions of dollars. That's the value of his company. And if you own 100% of the brand, then if the brand is worth $5 billion, then that's how much you're worth. So that's what people have to really understand with this net worth list is that a lot of times
Starting point is 00:51:00 they see things and they say, okay, this person is worth $4 billion. But it's like, what is that tied tied to if that's just in one company and that one company can go away like that whether it's sam binkman freed or whether it's yay then that's dangerous because it's not diversified so it's all an education process but i think that this at the very least has been educational to a lot of people because they're like how can you lose two billion in billion in one day? How can you lose $14 billion in one day? Well, that's why, because all your money is inside of your company. I was going to say the valuation part is like
Starting point is 00:51:30 the future profitability of the company. And depending on what type of company you have, the valuation can change, right? And so if it's like a tech company, they may say, all right, the company's worth $100 million. We saw that with FaZe Clan, right? They earned $100 million, but they got a 10x multiple. And so now that 10x multiple now makes them a billion dollar company
Starting point is 00:51:47 And so it's usually around the future profitability of it so like when with yay like obviously he has a retail company Well, what's the projections on retail companies? What type of valuations do they get? That's the homework that you got to do when you're in that business so education has its own multiple right it could be 4x Could be 8x so when you take your earnings right and you multiply it by that number that's how you get the future valuation of a company that's how you become a billion dollar company so what's the point of that is it just vanity for projections so you can eventually sell it um so that's the main reason that they have valuations and projections because even the venture community if you build up a sector then the purpose of that is to take it
Starting point is 00:52:24 we've talked to d Dave Rubenstein yesterday. You want to take a business, build it up, and then eventually sell it off. So that's the reason behind it. So it's not vanity per se. Well, I want to say something, too, about Pinky. To answer your question, it's an important question. So I really wanted to double down on that because that's something that our community is not fully aware of as far as valuations, the importance of raising capital. So she raised $25 million for 25% of her company,
Starting point is 00:52:46 which valued the company at $100 million. Because it's like, okay, now if somebody's giving you $25 million for 25%, that means your company's worth $100 million. So even understanding the importance of raising money, because it's like we have never raised any money. We've bootstrapped everything. And people have asked us, like, do we want money? I'm like, no, we've always have took the stance that we don't need money. Yeah, but now being properly educated
Starting point is 00:53:09 I wasn't probably educated on that process. So it's like the circles that we're moving in now is a lot different So they educating us like not it's not necessarily that you need money But now you get outside capital for a small percent of your company and that gives you a 10x or 20x valuation Now you're in a position to sell even more sell the whole company and that gives you a 10x or 20x valuation now you're in a position to sell even more sell the whole company take the company public you know it's so much that you can do with the leverage and that's something that we don't fully understand because it's like we're used to just pay everything ourselves do it ourselves you take pride in that and there is pride in that but there's a whole different game where these people are building billion dollar
Starting point is 00:53:43 companies and the companies are not even big. It's like it's like right now, like like you would think like, OK, in order to have a billion dollar company, you got to do so much. No, not really. You just have to have the right relationships, the right information. And then it's like, OK, you can go outside right now, raise one hundred million dollars for 10 percent of your company. Now you have a billion dollar valuation where did this stupid ass narrative come from that you have to own everything and put up your own money it's like every company every company that gets to scale when you grow up in an environment when you don't own anything the second that you actually create something you even look even with publishing in the music business people will be like own your own publishing don't do this
Starting point is 00:54:24 but you see artists selling their publishing because they get a huge check right now that they're able to invest in other things for that money to grow. We have to realize there's two sets of information.
Starting point is 00:54:33 The information that we're usually given versus the sets of information that the wealthy use. That information doesn't trickle. So even when we're talking about infinite scale, we have to look at that.
Starting point is 00:54:43 Like imagine if Rockefeller, Murder, Inc., Cash Money in the 90s knew how to invest in the marketplace. They would have been one of the biggest hedge funds in the world. So the valuation game now is like knowing stocks in the 1990s. I don't want it to be 2040 and our community is now just getting this information. So if we know how to do stocks, real estate, grow business, do business together. And it's the main thing I talk to people in the culture. I'm like, if all of us came together for one project
Starting point is 00:55:12 with all of our voices, talent, infrastructure, all the knowledge that we have, and like you talked about, we can raise capital. We can be worth 15, $20 billion in two or three years. All right, we got more from EYL. When we come back, don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela
Starting point is 00:55:29 Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with the brothers from EYL. Earn your leisure. Yee. Can I ask you guys to get on in your business? Here we go. Let's go. What are the plans long term for Earn Your Leisure? Tell us about the Steve Harvey situation. Do you plan to go public? since we were talking about valuations yeah for sure
Starting point is 00:55:49 shawty like i don't like this cut the lights off um but no i think that um steve harvey has been a great uh relationship for us and that's something yeah so he invested in Earn Your Leisure? He did not invest in Earn Your Leisure, but we did partner on InvestFest. Okay, part of the festival. Yeah, he's a partner in InvestFest. And I'm sure we'll probably do a lot more things
Starting point is 00:56:16 together with him as well because he's a very astute businessman and he sees the value in what we have created. So he's looking to do more things with us and we're looking to do more things with him. And as far as the brand of Earn Your Leisure, I think that, you know, we've created a very good media company that can grow to become one of the top media companies in the world. And that's the goal is to really grow it as big as Al Jazeera's and grow it as big as Complex or bigger. And, you know, that all encompasses the live events,
Starting point is 00:56:44 that encompasses content, that encompasses content, that encompasses education, that encompasses a lot of different things that we have going. Yeah, it would be great to have it on the stock exchange, especially since we talk about stock so much. I think that that's something that would be extremely important and another symbolic gesture for the culture
Starting point is 00:56:59 to see, you know, a company that started with a couple of iPhones and you literally start from one follower on Instagram. Some people have been with us since we had 100 followers from day one. It started as a podcast, then goes to a podcast network, and then grows to a media company, then has live events, then has an educational component, and then has a lot of other people that are encompassed in a situation, whether it's 19 Keys, whether it's Ian,
Starting point is 00:57:22 whether it's the mortgage guy, whether it's Wall Street Trap a lot of different people so I think that it's a great story to tell because it's black people working together
Starting point is 00:57:33 it's happening in real time it's bootstrap it's working with our friends all of our people that work with Earn Your Leisure
Starting point is 00:57:40 people that we grew up with would you put Earn Your Love under that? Earn Your Love is 100% coming under the umbrella but think about that when we talk about when we talk about a narrative like imagine now seeing that like we've seen companies get publicly traded but we didn't know how they started people literally have watched this from the dining room
Starting point is 00:57:59 in real time right this is happening in real time right so that's the power of media and i guess social media is like people have literally watched it they've seen us on iphones they've seen us we told them the equipment we were using we told them we're going to be here we should call them by all these people we talk about we talk about we talk about all these things and now it's it's a narrative but it's also a learning experience this is like the real nat geo like you're watching us do this in real time and so to see a company that can go public or have a billion dollar valuation it's like think about the aspiration it does for a generation of people yeah right like kids are looking like that was my teacher yo i remember when i used to watch him
Starting point is 00:58:34 play ball yo i remember when he was in indiana walking the whole like they're watching this happen and they know the people so it makes it completely relatable but it makes it aspirational but also one last thing i wanted to say that's extremely important. It's also important for us to help grow other brands as well. Yeah. So it's like, we partner with Charlamagne
Starting point is 00:58:51 and the Black Effect Podcast Network because we see the value in that and we see the value in collaboration. We partner with Revolt because we see the value in Revolt. These are things that we're not afraid to work with other people. It's like,
Starting point is 00:59:03 we have our thing, but it's not 100%. We have to have everything ourselves. Now, let's put a show on revolt. Let's have our podcast on this network. This is how, as he gets bigger, we're going to get bigger. And as we get bigger, he's going to get bigger.
Starting point is 00:59:17 And this is what Steve Harvey sees, right? So it's like, alright, Steve Harvey is already up a couple hundred million dollars, but he sees the value in us on a grassroots level and how we can help amplify his voice to a younger generation. So we're we're beneficial to him and he's beneficial to us. So that's extremely important. I want to hammer that in. A lot of time people are too self-centered and they're too concerned about what they have going on and they don't want to work with anybody else. We have to stop doing that. The only way to go to to that billion dollar multi-billion dollar valuation is collaboration that's right you never built anything by yourself there's no such thing as self-made you have to work with other
Starting point is 00:59:53 people you have to work with other brands you have to work with other companies you have to know how to negotiate you have to be diplomatic you have to be you know a gentleman like these are all things that's extremely important it's. The narrative of being a hot-headed businessman, yelling at people, cursing at people. When you're in real time, it's not working. You gotta buy that 1942 for everybody. It never worked.
Starting point is 01:00:14 It never worked. We're the only culture that does not pride ourselves and team together. All the banks work together. We were at the exchange. Company went public. All the banks that you see warring against each other, they were all listed
Starting point is 01:00:27 as partners as one. So we've teamed up and done stuff. They're doing stuff with Steve. Me, Alex, and Weezy teamed up at the studio in LA. Like, the only way to create generational wealth
Starting point is 01:00:36 is to build with your friends. That's right. And then we have to put Eagle away. And like you said, you can't be a high head and go off like this. Tupac's my favorite person. One small high-headed mistake end up costing him his life.
Starting point is 01:00:48 So like, I think we need to have one multiple series. That one in Vegas. So, but when you have counsel, you have friends that can check you and say, Hey, no brother, you're doing this wrong. Fix this here. Or maybe we need to progress here. That's why I always tell everyone, let's figure out ways to team up and do more things like i'll talk to you after 85 and be like hey what guys like we have to continue to grow because i hated that rockefeller murder inc
Starting point is 01:01:15 rough riders back in the day didn't do more but now we are in a position to be that yeah and do that kind of like cash money tool this is is the new Hard Knock Life tool. Absolutely. Because like if Jay-Z and Murder, Inc., if they would have just put in $13 million in 1996, just let's say into Apple or any fund, till this day, they would be up $7.5 billion and never have to release the album. I don't think they had the tools though.
Starting point is 01:01:40 I get what you're saying. They didn't have people teaching them financial literacy. And just even on the mental, you know, I'm a mental health advocate, so it's just like mental and emotional health keeps you from being that angry hot head who's projecting all your insecurities on the other people. I don't
Starting point is 01:01:55 think they had those tools back then. Can you give us three tips to be more peaceful? Because I really admire you and Troy. Every time I talk to y'all, no matter what happens, you guys are, like, happy. Me and Rashad working on it. So how can we be happy? My inner Dame dad.
Starting point is 01:02:13 Rashad always want to argue with everybody. No reason. The biggest thing I tell people is go to therapy, number one. You know what I mean? How do you find a good therapist, though? It takes a while. It's not easy. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:02:24 You answered this wrong, man. We're going to leave with our wives on the route. Oh, 100%. 100%. 100%. 100%. I was going to say God. I mean, mine is therapy, God, and black women.
Starting point is 01:02:35 So my wife, you know what I mean? But definitely. But, you know, definitely start with therapy. Therapy is the gateway drug to it all, I think. Gotcha. Therapy is the gateway drug to it all. That's right. Hashtag that. Market Monday is the gateway drug to it all. That's right. Hashtag that.
Starting point is 01:02:46 Market Mondays Live with Earn Your Leisure in Dunlap, Sunday, November 27th, Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Are tickets even still available? Yes, yes. They are. You can go to earnyourleisure.com, marketmondays.com, tab on our website. Yeah, it's a few tickets left, so get them. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:02 And it's going to be a night to remember. A time will be had? One year of Stock Club, which normally costs 10 grand when you get a ticket. One year of Sniper, which teaches you how to trade. So if you need a quick target, 123 points on a Dow or NASDAQ. If you trade 33 contracts, it's $20,000. He didn't speak English.
Starting point is 01:03:19 What are you saying? The market is falling. It goes up 123 points. You can make money as it goes up. If it goes down. You can make money as it goes up. If it goes down, you can make money as it goes down. Right? So I'm giving them a target to use every day. Because normally when a Dow goes up or down on NASDAQ, it normally goes up 400 or 500 points.
Starting point is 01:03:40 123 points is the easy target we can use to be able to make money. And I mean, that was funny. But we were here. And the reason why it may not sound like English, and maybe we need a therapy and financial literacy segment that we can partner on, but if we're here, rappers talking about selling drugs openly on air, why aren't we having these conversations about where this sounds like English to the culture?
Starting point is 01:03:58 That's true. That's the fluency part. That's very true. That's why I said, we focus so much on just being literate, but yeah, that's the ability to read and write, but now let's have the ability to read and write. But now let's have the next conversation where we're actually fluent in the language. So it doesn't sound foreign to you anymore.
Starting point is 01:04:10 So that was a stock tip you just gave. Absolutely. Got you. It was just a segue. I didn't know what you were doing. I didn't know what you were doing. I'm like, what are you doing? We appreciate you guys.
Starting point is 01:04:21 Go to earnrelation.com, marketmondays.com, get your tickets. Floyd Money Mayweather, we have a conversation with him. Don Peebles, billionaire real estate developer. Jada Kiss will be performing. We got Peter Tuckman. We got Miles Jones. We got Sussman.
Starting point is 01:04:32 We got all of us. We're going to be there. And a bunch of surprises. And that was exclusive, by the way, that Floyd Mayweather is going to be having an exclusive one-on-one. That's exclusive one-on-one. Exclusively dropped on the Breakfast Club. Love y'all.
Starting point is 01:04:43 The champ. Hey. The champ is here. We can't just do Club. Love y'all. The champ. Hey. The champ is here. We used to do that. The champ is here. The champ is here. It's Ernie Legious, Ian Dunlap. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:04:51 Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
Starting point is 01:05:02 I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Starting point is 01:05:17 Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I trade my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that?
Starting point is 01:05:32 Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 01:05:51 Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast Post Run High is all about. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself,
Starting point is 01:07:06 and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best
Starting point is 01:07:38 and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So y'all, this is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all. Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history, like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was Claudette Colvin. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise.
Starting point is 01:09:14 Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Dani Shapiro, host of the hit podcast, Family Secrets. Listen to season 11 of Family Secrets on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 01:10:27 We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk TI. Listen up. It's just in. All the gossip. Gossip. The rumor report.
Starting point is 01:10:35 Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's the rumor report. The Breakfast Club. All right. Now, TI is just just right. This isn't a new song. It's a song, Juicy Fruit featuring TI. It's called Step. is dissing Charleston Wright. This is in a new song. It's a song Juicy Fruit featuring T.I. It's called Step and here is T.I.'s verse. Now y'all recall this whole thing
Starting point is 01:11:29 happened it started with a king and charleston white having some things to say about ti's son and then ti going back and forth over that well charleston white has responded to ti and here's what he wanted. I mean, that's what he wants, the attention. But I guess T.I. had to get some things off his chest, too, though. Yeah, that's what hip-hop is for, right? Getting things off your chest and addressing real-life issues. All right, now, Jeffrey Dahmer's father, Lionel Dahmer, did an interview with Dr. Phil. And it's a three-day Dahmer special that's going to air.
Starting point is 01:12:15 TMZ got hold of a couple of clips from that sit-down. And Lionel talks about different times when he felt like he should have realized something was wrong and he could have saved some lives. Here's what he had to say. When I made the visit to Milwaukee, I saw this box in the closet in his room. I said, I'm going to open it. And he kept complaining that he couldn't even have one foot square of his own property to do with what he wants. And I said, I'm going to open it anyway, find out what's in here, because that's what I thought it was, something related to pornography. In a way, I'm glad, but I'm, in a way, I'm not glad that I didn't press it, because I don't,
Starting point is 01:12:51 if I would have opened that box and found what was in there, I think I would have lost it. And the next day, he opened it, and he said, see, this is, this is what it was. And in fact, he had stuffed some pornographic magazines in there but we now know the box contained a human head yes i said well what would you have done jeff if i'd opened and he said something like that the jig would have been up i can't understand why would you agree to wait yeah i can't understand why you would agree to wait a day to open this box and the box had a head inside of it wait a day yeah he said he was going to open the box and jeffrey dahmer told him just wait till tomorrow you know and he waited but
Starting point is 01:13:31 that happens like now we're gonna open this now that happens all the time you don't open all your packages immediately and somebody might tell you to wait wait wait till christmas or wait until this day people do that all the time it wasn't a it wasn't a it wasn't a present. His dad saw a wooden box that Jeffrey Dahmer kept, and he suspected that there was something inside. And he was like, I'm going to open it. And Jeffrey Dahmer was like, wait till tomorrow. He should have followed his suspicions. But, I mean, you know, it's not out of the realm of possibility
Starting point is 01:14:00 that somebody said, hey, wait until tomorrow, and you wait until tomorrow. Yeah, I mean, that also allowed Jeffrey Dahmer time to clear out what was in the box, which was a head and, you know, act like it was only pornography. But there was a severed human head in the box. And so if he would have opened it right away, he would have seen it and could have possibly saved more lives is what he's saying. I doubt it. No, I get what you're saying.
Starting point is 01:14:19 I doubt the dad would have did anything, though. I mean, they seem like the type of family that protects a lot of their BS and likes to hide a lot of their demons. I don't think he would have. I don't think he would have called the authorities. I could be wrong, but that's just me. All right. Well, that's going to be a three day special. So if anybody I know, people are obsessed with this whole case. And so you can watch that on on Dr. Phil and too short.
Starting point is 01:14:39 And E-40 have done an op ed for the Atlantic. Hip hop needs an intervention. The regularity of these killings has us concerned and thinking who is next. 40 have done an op-ed for The Atlantic. Hip-hop needs an intervention. The regularity of these killings has us concerned and thinking who is next. Amongst the things they said in this op-ed, this is our generation's responsibility as much as it is for the young MCs. One reason the violence has gotten worse is social media. Rappers are trying too hard to flex online to the detriment of their safety.
Starting point is 01:15:04 These dudes are getting money at a faster rate than we ever did. We've been to the strip club when a rapper was sitting with walls of money like walls. Each stack was three feet tall. How can you throw that much money in one night? We have no idea. Some of these artists spends thousands on an outfit and millions on jewelry, then jump in their Bugatti or whatever, and show up so much money that they can barely hold it in their hand for an
Starting point is 01:15:21 Instagram photo. But they did say the industry needs change. Artists need to move more carefully and strategically. Labels and music execs need to invest more in educational resources to protect the artists they work with. Managers must hire skilled security teams that can efficiently defuse tense situations. Rappers have to minimize their social media activity and be more vigilant when they're out of their house.
Starting point is 01:15:42 I agree with all of that. But, you know, it's very interesting, man, because there's a generation of rappers prior to all of these young kids who absolutely positively created this climate because we are the generation where rappers used to get clowned for having security. The generation before us definitely was balling and flossing and bling-blinging out of control. Did the same thing?
Starting point is 01:16:04 They were doing the the same thing they were doing the exact same thing so now you got a generation that learned from them and they just doing it bigger than those individuals absolutely so i'm happy that you know you have rappers now that are trying to break the cycle especially the og rappers because when you know better you do better but you got to acknowledge that you know you taught these youngins how to move you absolutely did i will say that this generation is invested a lot more like you look at what you know little baby the migos dirk and and some of these younger artists that are coming up now they're investing their money way better than a lot of those other artists as well too so like they said they're
Starting point is 01:16:39 making a lot more too yeah they definitely make it they're definitely making a lot more but the generation before us uh i guess they were frontin' then. Because, boy, they used to act like they was ballin'. We're acting like that ballin', bling-bling era didn't start 30 years ago. Yeah, but I think with the streaming, with opportunities online to do things, with social
Starting point is 01:16:58 media, being influencers, doing ads online, there's just a lot of money floating around. Alright, well, that is your rumor reports. All right, thank you, Miss Yee. Who are you giving that donkey to? For after the hour, man, it's a donkey of the day update, so to speak.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Daryl Brooks. You remember Daryl Brooks? He's the guy who drove his SUV into a crowd at a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin. We'll discuss for after the hour. He's been in front of the congregation before, but I guess he's back. All right, we'll get to that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:17:28 The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. You're thankful for the great people on your team, and the best place to hire them is ZipRecruiter. Don't be out here acting like a donkey. Key high, bitch. Key high. It's time for donkey of the day.
Starting point is 01:17:58 I'm a big boy. I can take it. If you feel I deserve it, ain't no big deal. I know Charlamagne and God are gonna have some funny shit. Say out of this mouth. If I say something you may not agree with doesn't mean I mean it. Who's getting that donkey? That donkey. That donkey.
Starting point is 01:18:08 Donkey. Donkey. Donkey. Donkey of the day right there. The breakfast club, bitches. You can call me the donkey of the day
Starting point is 01:18:16 but like, I mean no harm. Yes, donkey of the day for Thursday, November 17th is more like an update because this man has already been crowned Donkey of the Day. This man is Darrell Brooks. He's the human who drove his SUV into a crowd of Christmas parade attendees
Starting point is 01:18:33 in Waukesha, Wisconsin last November, killing six people and wounding dozens more. In fact, I gave him the biggest hee-haw almost a month ago on October 21st because he's on trial for these crimes, and he was acting a damn fool in the courtroom with the judge. I mean, clearly he just said, F it, I'm a black man who killed six white people in Wisconsin. I'm going to prison, so why bother acting like I give a damn?
Starting point is 01:18:58 He didn't have a lawyer. He represented himself. And it's safe to say he did a terrible job. I mean, the way he was carrying on in this courtroom with the judge. In fact, I would like to play a few of his outbursts towards the judge. Can we listen? On the final day of his sentencing. That's not it.
Starting point is 01:19:15 I want the outbursts. This is my time. You need to not interrupt. That's the reason why the charge was dropped. Mr. Brooks. You want to sit up here and talk about who has grace and all this. You're talking about someone with five kids that don't have custody. You need to stop right now or you will be removed.
Starting point is 01:19:32 Remove me then. All right. He will be removed. He cannot simply stay quiet when this court talks. I don't consent to being sentenced anyway. Mr. Brooks, I'm bringing the jury out and we're continuing. We're going to get through these witnesses. And I'm not stopping you from doing that. Through your behavior, you're not going get through these witnesses and i'm not stopping you
Starting point is 01:19:45 from doing that behavior you're not going to delay these proceedings i'm not trying to delay the proceedings so i wish you would stop being incorrect on the record and saying what i'm trying to do if you don't know that you don't know what i'm trying to do the jury out i'm not going to argue with you then don't you're not making the record of not being advising you to be quiet because the jury's coming back you're advising me to be quiet is you telling me to be quiet because the jury's coming back. You're advising me to be quiet? Is you telling me to be quiet? I'm advising you to be respectful when the jury comes out. Are you telling me to be quiet or are you asking me? I'm asking you and advising you.
Starting point is 01:20:12 Thank you for correcting that because don't nobody tell me what to do. I don't tell nobody else what to do. I'm a grown man with grown kids. Ain't nobody going to talk to me like that. Nobody. I told that young man, Daryl Brooks on october 21st when i gave him donkey of the day oh that judge absolutely tells you what you're gonna do believe that when that judge sentences you to waukesha forever she's telling you what to do and yesterday she did just that
Starting point is 01:20:37 okay because daryl brooks was sentenced yesterday would you like to hear how much time he's going to get? Let's go to Fox 6 News for the report, please. He is fueled by anger and rage. Some people unfortunately choose a path of evil, and I think, Mr. Brooks, you are one of those such persons. Count by count. One life sentence for Virginia Sorensen. She sentenced him as strongly as she could. Or drew a pause from a courtroom full of victims and ensured he knew the name of every person he hit in accordance with all 76 counts. Frankly, Mr. Brooks, no one is safe from you. This community can only be safe if you are behind bars for the rest of your life. Mm-mm. I don't know if y'all could add all of that up, but she told me what to do. She definitely told him what to do.
Starting point is 01:21:31 And what she told him to do was six consecutive life sentences plus more than 700 additional years. So seven hundred and sixty two and a half years. Now, see, this is the judge's way of clowning. OK, all judges is clowning when they do these kinds of sentences and when they give this kind of time out. It makes me wonder, do they know something we don't know? Maybe YOLO is a farce. Okay, maybe you don't only live once.
Starting point is 01:21:56 Can you imagine, though, being in prison for every lifetime? Every time you reincarnate, you're in prison. No matter what you reincarnate as, come back as a dog, they got you in a pound. Come back as a red panda, they got you in a zoo. Come back as a beluga whale, they got you at SeaWorld. 762 and a half years is that judge's way of showing you that I do indeed tell you what to do. I tell you what to do so much that I'm going to tell you time that I know you can't do. All right.
Starting point is 01:22:26 The judge lets you get all that off in court because she knew she would have the last word. She stood up there in that court yesterday and calmly let it be known that in the court, she is the end all and be all. Can we listen to the judge lay out that sentence, please? He is fueled by anger and rage. Some people, unfortunately, choose a path of evil. And I think, Mr. Brooks, you are one of those such persons. Count by count. One life sentence for Virginia.
Starting point is 01:22:59 I thought we had the judge just laying out the sentence. We don't have that? Oh, okay. Well, this brother, Darrell, clearly is dealing with some mental health issues. Doesn't excuse any of his behavior, but he's clearly, clearly dealing with some mental health issues. And a real lawyer probably would have spent more time showing that during the trial. But this judge said she will leave decisions about mental health treatment up to the Department of Corrections. I highly doubt he will receive any mental health treatment.
Starting point is 01:23:27 I highly doubt he will receive anything at all other than this 762 and a half years. OK, this man is gone now. See, the judicial system is all in this together. He committed a heinous act. All right. Went into the courtroom acting a fool with the judge. And the judge said he absolutely has no remorse for anything that he's done. Told him he has no empathy for anyone.
Starting point is 01:23:50 And I promise you that mentality the judge said Darrell had. I guarantee folks in the prison he's going to will have that same mentality. No remorse, no empathy, no nothing. Party's over. Nothing left to see here, folks. Just another example of when you play stupid games you do indeed win stupid prizes please let Remy Ma give Daryl Brooks the biggest hee haw
Starting point is 01:24:11 hee haw hee haw you stupid mother f***er you dumb 762 and a half years will catch you forever Jesus alright well thank you for talking today half years. Jesus. We'll catch her forever. Jesus.
Starting point is 01:24:27 Alright, well thank you for talking today. He earned every bit of it. Ask E is next. 800-585-1051. If you need advice from E, call her now. We don't know how long she's going to be here. It's The Breakfast Club, but meeting on the show. Alright? It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:24:42 The Breakfast club. Need relationship advice. Need personal advice. Just need real advice. Call up now for ASCII. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy,
Starting point is 01:25:00 Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the breakfast club. It's time for ASCII. Hello. Who's this? It's Darrell. All right, Breakfast Club. It's time for Ask Yee. Hello, who's this? It's Darrell. All right, Darrell, what's your question?
Starting point is 01:25:11 My question is, me and my wife, we finna get remarried. And I'm trying to figure out if it's better to go to a courthouse or give her the big dream wedding that she always dreamed of. We've been married for 10 years now. All right, well, first of all, congratulations, 10 years, and for getting remarried. Thank you. So a couple of things here. What do you want to do?
Starting point is 01:25:26 I ain't gonna lie. I'm a simple person. I want to keep it simple. And I ain't gonna lie, 10 years ago, I didn't have what I have now. So I do want to make a country and come to,
Starting point is 01:25:34 but me, I like to keep it simple. Okay, is there a way to do something in between? Yes, it is. So how about that? How about, you know, you have something that's nice where you can celebrate
Starting point is 01:25:44 with close friends and family, but it doesn't have to be extravagant and that represents both of you. Oh, yeah. She got a lot of family and friends. So we didn't allow her to go to Georgia. She come from New York where you guys are. Okay. So maybe the best thing to do is for you to start looking at different options and start pricing things out
Starting point is 01:26:01 so that you can figure out how to make something reasonable. And instead of budget, do you have a budget? Yes, I have a nice little budget. I ain't going to say over there. No, you don't have to say it, but I just want to make sure. So I would work from that space, right? You guys have a budget. I'm sure that she's also wanting to plan as well.
Starting point is 01:26:20 So maybe you let her know this is what our budget is. Right. Let's figure out how we can make this happen. She's like Gina on Mars. She's just playing all this. So I'm like, okay, baby, calm down. Yeah, and just make sure you stay involved. Look, this can be something that's really fun for both of you.
Starting point is 01:26:37 And I think that when you actually really do it, you'll appreciate it. I will. Yeah, so, you know, help make her dream come true, but also do it in a reasonable way where you're not going up, you know, surpassing what it is that you have and let her know this is a, as a matter of fact, even with your budget, maybe you guys set it lower with knowing
Starting point is 01:26:55 that you're going to go above it a little. So maybe let's just say your budget is $15,000, but let's just say you say the budget is $10,000. That way, if you go over, you know you still can. That's how I try to play for things. Yeah, give her that wedding, bro. She put up with your ass.
Starting point is 01:27:09 Give her that wedding. You right, Envy. You are right. Thank y'all. And listen, you know you're going to get some of that money back, right? If you invite people that you know are going to give you some. So just know that that's going to happen, too. I ain't going to lie.
Starting point is 01:27:22 We are like the Cosby's compared to the family that she got. They got their hands out. Oh. All right. Well, look, it's a celebration for you guys. It's for her to show out to her family and friends and to celebrate your union and the fact that y'all have made it this far and you guys are still in love. Thank you very much, Angela.
Starting point is 01:27:40 Have a good one, brother. All right. Have fun. Okay. Ask E. 800-585-1051. If you need relationship advice or any type of advice, call Yee now. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:27:50 Good morning. This is some real advice with Angela Yee. It's Ask Yee. Everybody, it's D-E-J-N-V, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're in the middle of Ask Yee. Hello, who's this? This is Erica from Duval.
Starting point is 01:28:09 Hey, what's your question for Yee? So I'm dealing with this guy. I've been dealing with this guy for two years, almost two years. And I'm dealing with this new guy who's not working. I'm going to message you on Facebook. All right. So I've been messing with this guy for like two years. And this other guy, he's real sweet.
Starting point is 01:28:24 He's real kind. You know, he does what he's supposed to do. You know, he look out some way. But you know how you just be feeling like, you know, your heart's on wheels. And I don't know how to let this one go because he bad for me. He toxic. So who's the toxic one? The new guy?
Starting point is 01:28:41 No, the old guy. Okay, so you call the man toxic. Yes, he's so toxic. What makes him toxic? Everything. Like, the fact that he won't leave me alone when I want to leave him alone. Like, he'll say he's done with me. And then turn around a month later, he not done with me.
Starting point is 01:28:58 You know what I'm saying? He keep coming back. I keep trying to, like, force myself to leave him alone. And he just won't stop. You keep letting him come back. That's why he does come back, right? Because he knows that you're not going to say no. And when I do say no,
Starting point is 01:29:11 oh my God, it's just like, why did I say no? Because then it's like, damn, I miss him. Right. You know, sometimes we can normalize situations that aren't good for us and maybe you like the excitement of it. Maybe you like the challenge of it. Maybe you're thinking, I don't want him to be with anybody else. It could be a lot of different reasons why you still feel connected to him. It could be other relationships from when you
Starting point is 01:29:32 were younger. It could be just things that you've seen in your life that you feel like this is what is supposed to be a relationship, but it's not, you know, like you're not supposed to be upset. You're not supposed to be crying all the time. You're not supposed to be breaking up all the time. You're not supposed to be on this roller coaster of ups and downs constantly. What you need in your life is something that is going to be like, even though we don't get along all the time, we know we still love each other and we're not going to leave each other. And I feel like that is just so much more valuable. Knowing somebody will always be there for you. Not just say I'm done with you all the time to accept you for when things are going well and for when they're not.
Starting point is 01:30:05 That's what you really need in your life. Not somebody that you yourself describe as toxic. Who's the new guy? I'm sorry. I dropped my child off at school. Good night. See you later, baby. Have a nice day.
Starting point is 01:30:18 But the new guy, he's real sweet. Okay. Okay. So why don't you give him a chance i think the problem with the new guy is is that he has his own little thing going on right now but what he want to do is you know what i'm saying like he he has his own little situation and like he's trying to deal with it and i respect him because he kept it honest with me he kept it real with me and that's what i love the most you know what i'm saying like he's keeping it honest with me. He kept it real with me. And that's what I love the most. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:30:45 Like he's keeping it 100 with me. But it's, I don't know. Your happiness is not dependent on somebody else. It's dependent on you. So, okay, so I didn't say this. I have been alone for a minute. My husband passed away like almost five years ago from cancer. So I've been alone since then.
Starting point is 01:31:02 And it's like I'm trying to get out there but it's like I don't even like to meet new people. I don't even like going to the club. I'm a full-time mom. I go to work. I come home. I don't like being bothered no more. And I just want somebody who's going to, like, compliment my table because I can bring my table.
Starting point is 01:31:16 You know what I'm saying? I brought the table. I brought the chairs. I got the placemat. But it's like I need somebody to put some food on that table, too. All right. Well, look, but you need to put some food on that table, too. All right. Well, look, but you need the right person, not just somebody. Right. You know, and I just feel like I think that's great that you're doing everything for yourself as an independent woman. And you want to find somebody that can complement what it is that you have going on. But you can't just want
Starting point is 01:31:38 somebody for the sake of having somebody. And so I think it's really important for you. Sometimes you got to clear all of that energy out so that you can let the good energy in. And so I think it's really important for you. Sometimes you got to clear all of that energy out so that you can let the good energy in. And if you don't feel like either one of these people is right for you, but you're just feeling like, I don't want to be alone, which I understand a lot. You know, I feel like most of us don't want to be alone, but there's a lot of value in you finding people. You don't have to go to the club. You can do things that are interesting to you. And that's how you meet somebody that's like-minded, somebody that's ambitious. You know, just think about the circles that you run and
Starting point is 01:32:09 think about people who you know, who could even, you know, set you up on a date, even with online dating, a matchmaker, all of those different ways that you can meet somebody because it feels like that's what you want. And if that's something that you want, you have to really work at it and go for it. But that doesn't mean that you have to just deal with what's coming your way. Just because you know these two guys and you're comfortable in it and you're like, all right, it's here. I got to make a choice between these two. You don't have to choose between who's the better of the two that I don't even really want. Right. OK. OK.
Starting point is 01:32:40 You know, so it's OK. And I get it. You've been single for a little while. It's lonely. You want somebody to help and be your counterpart. But you want the right person because there's nothing worse than having the wrong person as your counterpart. Right. Just settle. And I don't want to just settle. Yeah, no, you don't want to do that. Enjoy.
Starting point is 01:32:57 Enjoy yourself. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. It ain't got to be the one everybody you go out with. Right. Okay. All right. Thank you. Good luck. You're welcome. Thank right. Thank you. Good luck.
Starting point is 01:33:06 You're welcome. Thank you. Thank you. Y'all have a nice one. You too now. Ask Yee. 800-585-1051. You got rumors on the way?
Starting point is 01:33:14 Yes. And let's talk about SZA. She has a new project on the way. If she can meet that deadline, we'll tell you what she had to say with her interview with Billboard. All right. We'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:33:23 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk SZA. This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee.
Starting point is 01:33:40 The rumor has it. On The Breakfast Club. So listen up. All right, well, SZA has announced the name of her new album and a potential release period as well. She was in Billboard, and she said that the album will be called S.O.S. and that it would likely arrive in December. But she did say that she's stressed about meeting that deadline. And also, it seems like throughout the story,
Starting point is 01:34:06 she's also unsure about everything going on with music. Now, here's what she had to say about being able to do anything that she wants. I'm going to take a good swing at it. And I'm going to give it my absolute best. And if that s*** don't work out, then it don't work out. And I'm meant to do other things. I could do anything I want to do. I do know that about myself.
Starting point is 01:34:25 I could be a farmer tomorrow and I'd be a fire farmer. Like I could be a biologist. I'm gonna find the cure for something. I know that in that sense, I am that girl. Whereas like, I will figure it out. I genuinely care. I'm like a musician, but it wasn't my goal. I just wanted to do something that I was good at
Starting point is 01:34:43 and I couldn't get fired from. And that I couldn't tell shit to fuck off about. But I had to do something well enough to be able to be like, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. That's kind of wild. It doesn't feel like she has to meet a deadline. It's been five years. Has she been working on an album for like five plus years?
Starting point is 01:35:01 She has. Well, I guess in order to put it out at the time that she wants to put it out, you have to have that deadline done. And then I think sometimes too, when you work on something for a period of time, you change your mind about things, you know. So who knows? Well, clearly the stuff she putting out slaps
Starting point is 01:35:16 because if you tell me, man, I hate you. That record was a hit. Bro, it's still going. It's still going, yeah. There's a new record she put out that was fire too. Bro, it's still going. It's still going, yeah. And she has a new song, Shirt. Yeah, Shirt. But people are always excited to hear SZA music. But I love the fact, and I agree with this,
Starting point is 01:35:35 that she said she could do anything and be successful at it. And I think that's a great way to feel. You never have to feel obligated to be in any particular space. Now, she also talked about the negative side of being a star. Here's what she had to say about that. I hate being on camera. I hate talking because I put my foot in my mouth a lot. It's kinda like the album pressure is just like,
Starting point is 01:35:55 life is hard. And like to be expected to do anything at a high level while life is life-ing is crazy. I mean, you're supposed to be like a nice person on top of that and it's just like what this isn't meant for a person it's meant for a machine yeah and you know that is something like look she has a talent she can sing she can write music and what comes along with that is you're successful at it and you're a star and sometimes for some people that's not
Starting point is 01:36:21 why they do it yeah that's right some people just want some people, that's not why they do it. Yeah, that's right. Some people just love the music. They just want to share their God-given gifts. I get it. All right. Now, Schoolboy Q, since we're talking about TDE, he is appearing in the Topgolf global campaign that they're doing right now. It's called Come Play Around. And so there's a lot of different appearances from sports personalities
Starting point is 01:36:42 like Aaron Andrews, Kellylly stafford and more and so have y'all played top golf before of course i've never played golf really it's a little fun experience like if you ever go to top golf i know they have it in detroit you know it's fun it's like going bowling you can have drinks food all of that yeah it's a great date night take the wife yeah so and even the kids like you know for food and like during the day, a little kids party. That could be fun for you guys. All right. Now, Blueface, his bail has been set at $50,000.
Starting point is 01:37:13 There's a video that's been circulating where they said that he was shooting at someone. The alleged victim says that he recognized Blueface in the venue and spoken with him earlier in the night. He said that he made a joke about Blueface before shots were fired. And there were some words that were exchanged as well. And documents claim that Blueface was holding a handgun and discharged that handgun. Now, he is expected to be released on $50,000 bail after initially being locked up at a Clark County detention center. He was in court yesterday. The judge set the bill at $50,000, and he said it's likely that Blueface will make that bill. The judge also laid out various bill conditions
Starting point is 01:37:52 that Blueface has to comply with. That includes staying away from and having no contact with his alleged victim, staying in touch with his attorneys, making court appearances, and avoiding further trouble. And so he said he does understand those conditions. I think I saw that he was home.
Starting point is 01:38:06 I think his girlfriend said that he was home. I could be wrong. Well, they were in court. It was Chris Sean and whack. And so she said his family here, we got him daddy coming home. So she posted that. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 01:38:17 So I guess, you know, him being able to make bail is basically he's coming home. So I'm not sure if he's home yet but no he's home yesterday oh says wow daddy filled my poom poom up right away call me his fiancee now on i love daddy he's home please from now on i know angie lee's only here for a couple of more weeks but please give her that story to read next time please i'm begging you i'm begging you please don't ever do that again. Okay? Okay. Let's isolate that. And that is your rumor report.
Starting point is 01:38:50 Say it again, B. What did it say? Daddy is home. He filled my poom-poom up last night. Boy, you just don't listen. You just do not listen. Hey, I want to tell everybody, too, man, make sure you tune in to my late-night talk show, Hell of a Week tonight at 11.30 p.m.
