You ain't here talking about your devil. Well, it was Taylor. Okay. One of our producers, Taylor. Speaking of the devil. So, you know, every morning I drive in and I listen to my music. I zone out. Some days it might be DMX.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Some days it might be Lil Baby. Some days it might be R&B. But it's my mood. It's my groove. But since Angelique is out this week, I got to call Taylor every morning and listen and talk to her the whole way about what's going on in front page news and the rumors and all that. So I don't get the vibe out. So what are you saying?
Starting point is 00:03:51 I don't get what you. I'm just saying you vibed out and I didn't and I'm kind of jealous. Oh, well, OK. So we don't. Yeah, that's right. I didn't know you and Taylor took that long. Yeah. Yeah, that's how we go vibe out this morning.
Starting point is 00:04:03 We can always do marriage obliged. Blige, Be Happy. This is a Negro spiritual right here now. If you ever wanted to hear God talk to you through a record, this is that tune. You hear me? That's right. Whenever I'm dealing with any type of anxiety, any type of depression, I throw this record on immediately and it is an instant
Starting point is 00:04:20 mood changer. That's right. Well, not instant, but it gets me in the right direction. It definitely gets me in the right direction. Hey. All right. Well, get your ass up. It was easy. This is God. My God. God is good. God is good. But I'm here for be happy. That's right. Front page news is next. We're going to tell you about COVID. Does it still exist?
Starting point is 00:04:36 Also, Serena Williams. She's playing in the US Open. We'll give you some updates. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about.
Starting point is 00:05:00 It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories their journeys and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together you know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout well that's when the real magic happens so if you love hearing real inspiring stories from the people you know follow and admire join me every week for Post Run High. It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Is your country falling apart?
Starting point is 00:05:44 Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary? Consider this. get your podcasts. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe own country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:06:23 What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions,
Starting point is 00:06:48 but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Like, grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, y'all?
Starting point is 00:07:44 This is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th.
Starting point is 00:08:01 I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nemany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all. Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. through hip-hop. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat
Starting point is 00:08:40 on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to historical records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone. This is Courtney Thorne-Smith, Laura Layton, and Daphne Zuniga. On July 8, 1992, apartment buildings with pools were never quite the same as Melrose Place was introduced to the world.
Starting point is 00:09:30 It took drama and mayhem to an entirely new level. We are going to be reliving every hookup, every scandal, every backstab, blackmail and explosion and every single wig removal together. Secrets are revealed as we rewatch every moment with you. Special guests from back in the day will be dropping by. You know who they are. Sydney, Alison, and Joe are back together on Still the Place with a trip down memory lane and back to Melrose Place. So listen to Still the Place on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. What's your ass up?
Starting point is 00:10:14 This is a Mary J. Blige, be happy. God, my God. Crime mob, knock if you buck. This morning for me, it was Sarah Jake Roberts, Ryslay Kildall. No, Ryslay Eat. That's what the name of the sermon was from Sunday. Alright, well if you buck. All right. This morning for me, it was Sarah Jake Roberts, Rye Slay, Rye Slay Kill, though. No, Rye Slay Eat. That's what the name of the sermon was from Sunday.
Starting point is 00:10:28 All right. Well, morning, everybody. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get into some front page news. All right. U.S. Open 2022. Serena Williams, yesterday, she played the first round, and she won. She won 6-3, 6-3.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Victory over of Danka Kongovich. What? Yeah, you know what it is. No, I don't actually. I don't know either, but she did win. And this was in Queens at the U.S. Open Stadium, the Arthur Ashe Stadium. I'm actually taking the whole family there on Wednesday to actually see her, moms and dad included. And we have some audio of her after when she won.
Starting point is 00:11:00 Will this definitively be your final tournament? Yeah, I've been pretty vague about it, right? I'm going to stay vague because you never know. I wanted to ask what memory will stick with you the most from tonight? I think when I walked out, the reception was really overwhelming. I could feel it in my chest, and it was a really good feeling. I love the sport, and I feel like the sport's been giving me a platform that I never even thought I would have, all because of tennis.
Starting point is 00:11:28 So I don't see myself not a part of tennis. I don't know how I'm going to be a part of tennis as of right now. I just don't know how, but I just feel like we've come too far together to just not have anything to do with it. I mean, as far as I'm concerned, Serena Williams and Venus Williams are tennis. I've been alive 44 years. You know, any – you mentioned the word tennis. That's who I think of, Serena and Venus Williams, at least for my lifetime.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Absolutely. All right, well, her next game is Wednesday. Now, speaking of New York, because that's happening in New York, they're saying that usually this happens overseas where people get on scooters or motorcycles and they rob you on motorcycles and scooters. And they're saying, be careful, because if you're in New York, that is starting to they're starting to see that a lot where there's two people on a motorcycle, a scooter. One jumps off, takes your watch, a chain or pocketbook and then hops back on a scooter and takes off. So you can't catch them. So be very careful. Well, you know, so interesting. I always thought that was the New York way because growing up, I watched New Jack City.
Starting point is 00:12:26 And on New Jack City, Rockabye Baby was on the back of the bike. You know what I mean? That's what I always thought. I always thought, was it Rockabye Baby on the back of the bike? I think it was Rockabye Baby on the back of the bike. Rockabye Baby, yes it was. Either way, I always thought that, you know, that's how they do crimes. You see two people on a bike, something's wrong. Especially two men. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Exactly. So just be careful out there. They do that heavy in Europe. Now, Mississippi. Now, they're saying Mississippi has experienced a dangerous water shortage, declaring a state of emergency on Monday. They're telling people, do not drink the water. All right? They're saying they're having a huge water problem, and they're begging people, do not drink the water. What the hell is the drink?
Starting point is 00:13:03 It means we do not have a reliable running water at scale. It means the city cannot produce enough water to fight fires, to flush toilets, and meet other critical needs. Earth's so sick of us, man. It's so crazy to me how we live on a planet that literally provides everything that we need, but us viruses called humans have ruined this earth so much that the earth is slowly but surely running out of its most
Starting point is 00:13:27 natural resources that we need for our basic needs. Now, I was telling you about COVID. Is COVID a wrap? Is it over? They're saying that Biden administration is going to stop sending free at home COVID-19 tests. They said the government will end its giveaway of the COVID-19 free tests, and
Starting point is 00:13:43 they're saying pretty much they don't have the money for it. They said if Congress provides funding, we will resume it. But right now they don't have enough money. And if you don't know, they've been sending, if you fill out something online, you fill it out and they send you two free tests. And those in those two boxes are for tests, I believe. So they've been sending it out like crazy so people can actually test at home to see if they have COVID so they don't go out and give it to somebody else. But they are stopping that
Starting point is 00:14:10 immediately. I don't know if COVID is over, but I know that it's not as big a deal in the media as it once was. That I know. That I know! So listen, if I fail a COVID test right now, what happens? Do I still got to quarantine and all that kind of stuff? You're supposed to. No, I'm kidding. For right now, what happens? Do I still got to quarantine and all that kind of stuff?
Starting point is 00:14:25 You're supposed to. Oh, okay. For five days, right? Or three days? It's not seven. Five. It's five days. But ain't nobody saying nothing, though. No.
Starting point is 00:14:33 You know. If you don't got to show testing anything anymore, it's just like, okay, whatever. But that's what I was saying for the cruise ships. Now, you can go on a cruise ship. They want you to self-test and be honest. But if you pay $3,000, $4,000 for a cruise and you have COVID, are you going to say, hey, I have COVID, I'm not going, I'm going to waste this $4,000, $5,000?
Starting point is 00:14:49 No, I'm going. Kind of a stupid-ass question to ask. All right, well, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, phone lines are wide open. Again, 800-585-1051. Get it off your chest. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:15:04 The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. This is your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or blessed. You better have the same energy. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Big Chain Rob. Big Chain Rob. What up, brother?
Starting point is 00:15:22 Get it off your chest, bro. They're going to rob you for that chain, Big Chain. What's going on? It's Charlotte. Peace, King. They're going to rob you for that chain, Big Chain. What's going on, Andy? Charlotte? Peace, King. I want y'all to do me a solid. Depends what it is. Okay, you're going to like this, Charlotte.
Starting point is 00:15:33 How about you guys play anything Mary J. Blige preferably has instead of playing, I believe it's called, I mean, the song called Hey, She's By Her. It's way too early in the morning To play that depressing song That's actually SZA SZA SZA I Hate You That song old How long that song been out?
Starting point is 00:15:52 Long time Man it's too early for that Man it's too depressing We don't want to hear that At 5 in the morning man I hate it I don't listen to the music On the radio
Starting point is 00:16:00 I appreciate y'all listening To the music on the radio Cause you know y'all Want to listen to us But I don't be listening To the music I most definitely Rather listen to y'all listening to the music on the radio because, you know, y'all want to listen to us, but I don't be listening to the music. And then we figured it wasn't going to work. So he had me in the truck all day, and now he don't want to pay me. I ain't heard from the dude since I ain't go back.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Damn. Damn. Damn, damn, damn. So what you need now? What's the next step, brother? How do you make that better? How do you get that money? Oh, well, I already got another situation set up,
Starting point is 00:17:27 but I had kind of told my guy, like, oh, no, I'm going to roll with this one because I got two kids at home, and it was like I would be closer to home, but now I got to hit the road. I got to go over the road. Damn, brother. You go get your money, brother. Yeah, but that's the game, though. I mean, you're a truck driver.
Starting point is 00:17:42 You're in business for yourself. You're going to have those ups. You're going to have those downs, those bumps in the road. You know what I mean? But you got to keep going. Word. But I get it. You did the job.
Starting point is 00:17:50 You want your money. Yes, sir. All right, brother. Peace. Damn it, man. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up now.
Starting point is 00:17:59 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:18:16 What's up, man? This is Angel. Angel, what up? Get it off your chest. What's going on, Envy Charlemagne? Peace, King. Hey, check this out, man. I know nepotism exists. Who the nephew that is answering the phone, bro?
Starting point is 00:18:30 He didn't even know who Keisha was. I just called the correct Charlemagne. Who's Keisha? She was in the back of the Jeep. She was playing on Newt. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:18:38 Oh, yeah, yeah, you're right. Oh, Keisha, yeah, the back of the Jeep. She said, rockabye, baby. Yeah, she was in the back of the Jeep. But they killed somebody in the motorcycle. Yeah, when they killed all rockabye, baby. Yeah, she was in the back of the Jeep. But they killed somebody in the motorcycle.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Yeah, when they killed the rival gang, they did it on a motorcycle, though. They killed the roster man. No, that was at the wedding, bro. That was at the wedding. That was at the wedding. That was at the wedding. No, remember, remember, remember, it was at the wedding, too. But remember after something happened and they sent the dudes on the motorcycle and they shot up all the dudes sitting in front of the store?
Starting point is 00:19:07 Sitting in the store. On the back of the bike? Yeah. What did he say? Oh, that was when G-Money was like, that's what I like to see. Brains blowed all over the sidewalk, something like that. That was Keisha. That was Keisha.
Starting point is 00:19:20 But there was another scene where they sent the dudes on the motorcycle to go shoot up the rival mafia gang, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But when you say rock about baby. Yeah, you're right. You're right. You're right. Back of the G.
Starting point is 00:19:35 I was wrong. The dude who answered the phone, Charlemagne, he was like, Keisha, who? I'm like, bro, you ain't never seen New Jack City. He wasn't born in the 1900s like us, sir. He born in the 2000s. Yeah, he wasn't born in the 1900s like us, man. Well, you have a good morning, Angel. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:19:53 Hey, what's up, man? This is Deshaun. Hey, where you calling from? Man, I'm calling from Mississippi. What's up, bro? What's up, brother? Hey, man. Hey, man, that story you was reporting about the water crisis,
Starting point is 00:20:03 man, it just means Jackson, Mississippi, and around the area. I think you said the whole state of Mississippi. Oh, Jackson residents in Mississippi. Yeah, sure, yeah. They've been having water issues for a long time. Hey, bro, I got a quick question for you, man. You ever thought about having your car sold for the troops in the coast in Melissa, Mississippi?
Starting point is 00:20:24 In Mississippi? Yeah. I want to I want to say y'all, I want you to look up Troos in the Coast. I think you will love their event. They got a lot of old school cars. They do a lot of shows.
Starting point is 00:20:40 And they start in October through the second through the night, so it's like a whole week event. Okay, I'm going to look into it. We're trying to do like four or five a year. I know we did Houston this year. We did Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:20:53 We did New Jersey, New York. You know where I think we might go, bro? I think we might do North Carolina, South Carolina, and I think we might do Alabama. I think we might go to those markets too. I'm trying to go a little bit of everywhere because, you know, people really enjoy themselves. We get a huge turnout. And it's all about family fun.
Starting point is 00:21:09 So I might hit those markets. But I'm going to check that definitely out. Yes, sir. Yeah. Check it out, man. It's called Cruise in the Coast. Man, you can stay there right now. You can see what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:21:19 It's a lot of people. Okay, brother. A lot of people know about it. They travel. But I appreciate you. What's going on, Charlamagne? Peace, King. How you doing, brother? Man, just trying to make this money this morning. Okay, brother. A lot of people know about it. They travel. But I appreciate you. What's going on, Charlemagne? Peace, King. How you doing, brother? Man, just trying to make this money this morning. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Alright, brother. Have a good one. Be safe. You too. God bless. Hello, who's this? Yes, my name is George McGee. Hey, morning, brother. Get it off your chest. Good morning. I was involved in an accident. I was hit by a United States truck. I was in my an accident. I was hit by a United States truck.
Starting point is 00:21:45 I was in my yard, and a police officer came out. They did a report. The police officer did a false report. And the attorney that I had, he sold me out. Damn. Have you filed a formal complaint yet? Have you filed, like, a real complaint? I filed a complaint against a police officer.
Starting point is 00:22:02 And I didn't have a date, but a sworn statement. What I'm saying to you, I said't have a day, but sworn statement. What I'm saying to you, I said it to the phone in the sworn statement. Well, we're sending you thoughts and prayers, my brother. Absolutely, brother. I'm sorry. I wish I had more for him. It's just certain situations I don't have anything else other than to let people vent. That's what we
Starting point is 00:22:18 do. We open the phone lines, let them vent, let them get it off. And then sometimes all we can provide is thoughts and prayers. That's it. I mean, I could provide him Ben Crump, but Ben busy. He busy. Get things on the plate right now. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, you can hit us up. Now, we got rumors on the way. Question, Charlamagne. What's the most you ever won from a casino? Nothing, because I don't gamble. Nothing at all?
Starting point is 00:22:44 Yeah, I don't gamble. I've been fired seven times in my life, bro. I didn't have to collect unemployment checks. I don't play with my money like that to be gambling. And I'm a cowboy fan. What am I betting on? You right. Well, the most I ever won was $500. And I don't gamble either. When I go to a casino, I
Starting point is 00:22:59 do it as a date night. So me and the wife go out and we have a specific amount of money that we're going to spend, which is usually $200. And if we lose it, we go home. I don't even know how to play none of that stuff. Well, nothing. Well, we'll tell you who won a million dollars at the casino over the weekend and gave each one of his friends $10,000 each. I don't believe it.

The Waikana tribe own country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory.

We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions,
Starting point is 00:25:27 but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. It's okay. Like grace,
Starting point is 00:26:06 have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So y'all, this is Questlove and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right.
Starting point is 00:26:34 A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all. Nimany here.
Starting point is 00:26:50 I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Historical Records brings history to life through hip hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Nine months before Rosa, it was called a moment. It took drama and mayhem to an entirely new level.
Starting point is 00:28:13 We are going to be reliving every hookup, every scandal, every backstab, blackmail and explosion and every single wig removal together. Secrets are revealed as we rewatch every moment with you. Special guests from back in the day will be dropping by. You know who they are. Sydney, Allison, and Joe are back together on Still the Place with a trip down memory lane and back to Melrose Place. So listen to Still the Place on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk, little baby. Listen up. It's just in. All the gossip.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Gossip. The Rumor Report. Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's just in. All it got. Got. The Rumor Report. Got. Got. With Angela. Angela Yee. It's the Rumor Report. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Now, Lil Baby over the weekend was out in Vegas. His tour wrapped up in Vegas with Chris Brown. And he went to the casino after. And rumors have it that he won a million dollars at the casino. Is that possible? Do casinos have that kind of money on hand? I don't know. I don't gamble.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Of course. Yes, absolutely. Yeah, people bid and try to break the casino all the time, but he won a million dollars. Off what, though? What's the game? It looks like he was playing blackjack. Okay. It looked like he was playing blackjack from the picture.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Yeah, but he won a million dollars, and he decided to give all of his bros $10,000 each. First of all, I need to know how many bros it was, number one. And number two, how much do you bet to win a million dollars and he decided to give all of his bros $10,000 each. Red Bull, I need to know how many bros it was, number one. And number two, how much do you bet to win a million dollars? I mean, they're playing big money, so they could be betting $100,000 a hand. They could be paying $250,000 a hand. But it looks like it was 10 of them, so he gave them each $10,000,
Starting point is 00:29:58 which was about $100,000. Hey, we're dropping the Clues Bonds, Lil Baby. Do you have to pay taxes on that money when you win it at the casino? That's a good question. I think you do, though. Okay. I think you do. Oh, salute to Lil Baby. Do you have to pay taxes on that money when you win it at the casino? That's a good question. I think you do, though. Okay. I think you do. Oh, salute to Lil Baby, man.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Man, Lil Baby's documentary, Untrapped, by the way. Lord have mercy. I watched that over the weekend. Really, really, really phenomenal documentary. And I love how there's this one scene where they show how Atlanta, like, really just started, like, basically gentrifying, trying to gentrifying, trying to gentrify Atlanta when the Olympics were coming.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Yep. So it was just a period where they were just running down on black and brown neighborhoods just to clean up the city. Just because they knew that the Olympics was coming. And it just shows how those conditions can create circumstances for people that they have to overcome and untrap themselves from. Correct. Yes. So everybody needs to watch that little baby documentary on Amazon.
Starting point is 00:30:48 If you haven't shout to little baby now, John Morant, NBA player. Come on now. Something South Carolina. What it is. Now he did something that I dream of doing. What he did was he purchased his house out in Memphis and then he bought
Starting point is 00:31:02 his parents house next to him. And then he bought his sister's house next to him so they own that whole block they got a whole cul-de-sac I always wanted to do that just buy your own block
Starting point is 00:31:10 your own cul-de-sac and you put a gate so you have your own little village of your own family members ain't that dope drop on the clues bombs for John Moran
Starting point is 00:31:16 love it love to see it to your next door neighbor can't call the police or tell on you cause that's your sister only thing I wish was in South Carolina
Starting point is 00:31:24 but I mean he plays for Memphis I know he plays sister. Only thing I wish that was in South Carolina. But I mean, he plays for Memphis. I know. He plays for Memphis. I'm sure he got that in South Carolina too. He's working on it, I'm sure. I just think that's dope. If you ever get the amount of money to do that and you can just buy the whole block and each one of your family members live on it. And it's not small houses. He has like, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:39 10,000, 15,000, 18,000 square feet homes on it. That's just dope. They that big? They look big. They look big. Alright, now we gotta feet homes on it. That's just dope. Did you order that? Did they look big? They look big. All right, now we've got to congratulate Swade Lee. He's expecting another child. It's always good when you hear somebody expecting a child or getting married, but he's expecting a child, so we've got to congratulate him.
Starting point is 00:31:58 I don't know what baby that is. It might be number one. I'm not sure, but congratulations to him. I don't know what baby that is. I don't know, because usually they say that's baby number two or baby number three. Somebody might have tuned in and thought she was talking about rappers. I don't know what baby that is. And lastly,
Starting point is 00:32:12 Russ, he posted this message on his Instagram. He says, I'm extremely sorry everyone. He says, I'm especially sorry for you guys overseas. I was looking forward to it, but he says, I have to cancel the European tour. I could make up excuses so that I don't lose money, but the reality is, mentally, I feel like ish. In the last 24 hours, ish happened that has led to some extremely lonely and empty realizations
Starting point is 00:32:34 about things in my family life that have my head feeling like it's going to burst. I feel terrible about doing this to my European fans. If you no longer support me after this, I get it. If you don't believe my reason, I get it. I've never had to do this and I feel very defeated, but I can't crash and burn and give y'all ishy performances on the way out. You will be refunded from
Starting point is 00:32:55 your point of purchase. I'm very sorry and like I said, this is the last thing I want to do to my fans. I respect it. I mean, whenever you see somebody walking away from that kind of money, then you see somebody walking away, you know, from that kind of money, then you got to know that whatever they're dealing with inside is serious. You know? So salute to Russ. I hope that
Starting point is 00:33:12 he takes the time that he needs to get his mental and emotional health in order. Absolutely. And of course, you know, somebody else has to say something against it. Lil Pump, well, he had this to say about Russ canceling his shows. You think you got mental health issues? I'm from Bay County, bitch.
Starting point is 00:33:28 I was born with mental health issues. How about you f***ing deal with it and stop being a f***ing b****? And you know damn well who I'm talking to, boy. Your ass has canceled a whole Europe tour, b****. Stop f***ing canceling s***. Hop on that f***ing plane and go do your shows, you f***ing b****. Damn, that's corny as hell. I'm so sick of people trying to downplay what other humans are going through mentally. How do you know what that man feels on the inside?
Starting point is 00:33:48 And I'm telling you, when guys like Pump stop running from their mental health issues, when they stop suppressing their emotions and numbing they self with drugs and alcohol, watch what happens to them. Then he gonna know how Russ feels. Then he gonna want that same sympathy and empathy from people. Then they gonna tell him
Starting point is 00:34:04 to suck it up. That's right. Well, that is your rumor report. Now, when we come back, we got front page news. Fulton County DA out in Atlanta. She ain't playing with y'all. Listen, man. And guess what? If you stop
Starting point is 00:34:20 and just listen for a second, she ain't wrong either. We'll talk about it when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. When it's time to get with someone special, the best way to do it is with Magnum large-size condoms.
Starting point is 00:34:35 That gold foil wrapper is a badge of honor, and it means you're protected, and you take care of things with comfort. Accept no substitutes. Bring the pleasure with the gold standard. Magnum large- size condoms. Everybody, it's DJ Envy Angelique Charlemagne the guy.
Starting point is 00:34:49 We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get some front page news. Again, congratulations to Serena Williams. She played in the US Open yesterday and she won her first round. She plays again on Wednesday. I'm actually taking my mom and pops in the family so they can see her play. Drop on the clues bombs for the go, Serena Williams.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Those tickets got to be pricey, right? That's got to be a hot commodity ticket, huh? Yes. And I hope that Serena Williams actually wins the whole U.S. Open. Because, you know, whenever I hear, like, the greats announce retirement, I want to see them go out on top. I was raised in the 1900s, so I saw Michael Jordan go out winning a championship. We don't count the couple seasons with the Wizards. We don't even think about that.
Starting point is 00:35:28 That didn't happen. You know what I mean? We saw him go out winning a championship against the Utah Jazz. So I like to see the greats do that, win a chip and then retire. Yeah, I think Tom Brady should have retired when he won a chip. After his seventh, you know what I mean? Word up with Tampa. That's the perfect ending.
Starting point is 00:35:43 That's right. All right. Well, also, we have perfect ending. That's right. All right. Well, also, we have to talk about what's going on in Atlanta. So 26 alleged gang members indicted for Atlanta area home invasions targeting celebs like Mariah Carey and a host of others. They're saying they were arrested for kidnapping, armed robberies, shootings, and home invasions. They said some of the members of these gangs included gangster disciples, the Bloods, and the Crips. Now, the Fulton County DA, she ain't playing with y'all.
Starting point is 00:36:13 And when she was asked, are you targeting hip-hop artists and hip-hop, this is what she said. I'm not targeting anyone, but however, you do not get to commit crimes in my county and then decide to brag on it, which you do that for a form of intimidation and to further the gang and not be held responsible. One of the lyrics used in this indictment, just one of the lyrics is, me and my crew striking out, striking in all black. Send me the drop, we'll kick in the house.
Starting point is 00:36:40 If we steal a car, we're going to take off the tag. Well, they're kicking in doors, committing home invasions, and now I'm using those lyrics that they're admitting to doing that. I'm going to continue to do that. People can continue to be angry about it. I have some legal advice. Don't confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you do not want them used, or at least get out of my county.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Man, dropping a Clues Bond for that woman, man. What's her name? Attorney, District Attorney Fannie Willis attorney district attorney fannie willis district attorney fannie willis like you have to tell me what that woman just said wrong because i didn't hear nothing wrong okay the problem with humans is they don't think there should be consequences to their actions all right number one we don't want people committing crimes we can talk about all the social economic factors that lead people to a life of crime i totally get it but if you are going to commit crimes why do y'all and we've said this a million times on the radio why do y'all get on social media and brag about it why do y'all get
Starting point is 00:37:34 on rap songs and talk about the crimes y'all have committed i've been on this radio telling y'all how ridiculous that is for years and let's be clear it's hard to say that woman is targeting rappers when some of y'all are making yourself obvious targets by bragging about what it is y'all doing and guess what if it's just entertainment if it's not real if it's just art then you have nothing to worry about because you know crime no how about this how about change the content of your art because all it's doing is getting you indicted and influencing influencing the generation of kids wrong so if it's if it's not real if it's just art then change the content of your art because all it's doing is getting you indicted
Starting point is 00:38:15 and influencing the generation of kids wrong how about that I see nothing wrong with it I mean we were talking earlier about one situation where they ran up in somebody's house. It was a teenager taking a shower, a 14-year-old girl. Yeah, and they put the guns to her and took her downstairs.
Starting point is 00:38:30 That was in that indictment. I read that in there. Yeah, like, what do you expect? Y'all know how I feel about home invaders. I want you to get as much time as possible.
Starting point is 00:38:40 I have no remorse for home invaders. You run up in somebody's crib, you deserve everything that comes with it. Everything. I was wondering if Fulton County District Attorney Fannie Willis is free. If she wants to move up to New York and be a district attorney, I ain't clean this city up.
Starting point is 00:38:51 This city's crazy right now. People are breaking into things. They're coming out the next day and doing it again, and there's no nothing. I'm just saying, man. There's no penalties. There's nothing. It's very hard to say that woman is targeting rappers when some rappers are making themselves obvious targets by bragging about all the BS it is that they're really doing in the street. Well, let's open up the phone lines.
Starting point is 00:39:13 800-585-1051. Fulton County District Attorney Fannie Willis ain't playing with y'all. She ain't playing. This ain't no joke. If you don't like it, she said, get out of her county. And this is why even when people say, oh, you shouldn't use your... Rappers shouldn't have their lyrics used against them in court. Why not talk to the rappers and say, look, man, if y'all really doing these things, don't rap about them. You're snitching on yourself.
Starting point is 00:39:35 Like what she said at the end, that piece of advice she gave, that simple piece of legal advice, what was it? She said, I have some legal advice. Don't confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you don't want them used or at least get out of my county it makes no logical sense to be telling people hey man we should not be these lyrics shouldn't be used in court how about talk to the rappers and tell the rappers stop rapping about the things that they may or may not be actually doing she said if you decide to admit your crimes over a beat, I'm going to use it. What do y'all expect? Y'all can't be this clueless,
Starting point is 00:40:08 yo. We can't be this clueless. Like, we just can't be. Like I said, Fulton County DA Fannie Willis ain't playing with y'all. She just locked up 26 members that were allegedly doing kidnapping, armed robbery, shootings, home invasions. And she quoting y'all lyrics saying, this is exactly what
Starting point is 00:40:24 y'all doing. Including people like Mariah Carey's home, Atlanta Falcons player Calvin Ridley, Real Housewives of Atlanta, Marlon Hampton, and a host of others. Why do people think that there's no consequences to their actions? Let's talk about it. Let's talk about it. Phone lines are open.
Starting point is 00:40:41 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
Starting point is 00:41:04 I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tried my country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory.
Starting point is 00:41:20 I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go.

Starting point is 00:46:27 We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you're just joining us, we're talking about Fulton County DA Fannie Willis. Fannie Willis. Now, yesterday, 26 alleged gang members were indicted for Atlanta-area home invasions. Also, kidnappings, armed robberies, shootings, and targeting people like Mariah Carey,
Starting point is 00:46:46 Atlanta Falcons, Calvin Ridley and the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Marlo Hampton. Well, she said this yesterday. I'm not targeting anyone. But however, you do not get to commit crimes in my county and then decide to brag on it, which you do that for a form of intimidation and to further the game and not be held responsible. One of the lyrics used in this indictment, just one of the lyrics is, me and my crew striking out, striking in all black, send me the drop, we'll kick in the house, if we steal a car we're going to take off the tag.
Starting point is 00:47:17 Well they kick it indoors, committing home invasions, and now I'm using those lyrics that they're admitting to doing that. I'm going to continue to do that. People can continue to be angry about it. I have some legal advice. Don't confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you do not want them used or at least get out of my county. You have to tell me what that woman is saying wrong because I didn't hear one thing that she said wrong in that whole statement. And the problem with humans is they don't like to deal with the consequences of their actions and we told y'all just a little while ago
Starting point is 00:47:49 that you know we number one we don't want people committing crimes and we can talk about all of the different factors all the different socioeconomic factors that lead people to a life of crime but if you are going to commit crimes if you have committed crimes why are y'all on social media bragging about said crime why are y'all on rap songs confessing to said crime and got the nerve to talk about snitches getting stitches when you out here self-incriminating yourself i will never understand it i don't get it dumbest thing ever and she gave the perfect legal advice if you're going to commit these crimes why are you getting on records bragging about it don't confess to crimes on get it dumbest thing ever and she gave the perfect legal advice if you're going to commit these crimes why are you getting on records bragging about them don't confess to crimes on rap lyrics
Starting point is 00:48:29 if you don't want me to use them or at least get out of my county if you decide to admit your crime over a beat i'm going to use it and i totally agree if you're dumb enough to commit a crime that's right and then detail what you did and explain how you got away, how you steal cars, you change the plates, how you break into a crib. And if you're that dumb, you deserve to sit down for a little bit. And how come there's so many OGs out here, you know, fighting, saying that, you know, rap lyrics shouldn't be used in court? Why aren't the OGs sitting these young brothers and sisters down and telling them, look, man, if y'all really out there in the street doing these things, if y'all have done these things, don't talk about them on your records.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Why? You can't say, if you're trying to say that this woman, the DA, is targeting rappers, but these rappers are making themselves obvious targets by bragging about what it is they've done and are doing. Well, not talk to them about not putting it in their lyrics. I think you talk to them about not putting it in their lyrics.
Starting point is 00:49:25 I think you talk to them about not doing the stupidest that they're doing because they're going to get killed. You know, run up in the wrong crib and you're going to get killed. But that's why I said, number one, we don't want people committing crimes. Correct. You know what I'm saying? And, like, you know, there's a lot of socioeconomic factors that lead people to committing crimes.
Starting point is 00:49:38 Number one is poverty, okay? But, yes, I agree. If they're going to do these things things why get on records and talking about them and the other thing is if if it's not real if it's just entertainment if it's just art then me lenard mccalvey charlamagne the god i'm telling y'all y'all should change the content of your art because all it's doing is getting you indicted and influencing the generation of kids to do the wrong thing well let's go to the phone lines kenny good morning hey what's going on my man this is what i want to say bro i'm i'm upset because it's like these uh district attorneys all over the nation they pulling the comrade
Starting point is 00:50:12 harris basically they throwing brothers under the bus but we never see them indict these motorcycle gangs we don't know what these motorcycle gangs need to carry you don't say you'll see about 40 of them on the highway all nine of the them motorcycles, all across the country. They be carrying meth, guns, anything to our communities, but we never out of my own 46 years I ain't never seen them get indicted. I've never seen no motorcycle gang, Ku Klux Klan anybody get indicted. It is all
Starting point is 00:50:35 every radio station, every TV or nothing. Like they'll do crime. You know what I'm saying? You go to any jail, you're going to see any race in there. So why are they only targeting our race? Well, my brother, I will say where you're right at is that you don't see it a lot because for whatever reason, these stories aren't sexy to the media. But, man, those motorcycle gangs get indicted all the time. They're not rapping in their lyric.
Starting point is 00:50:58 That's what I'm saying. There's no celebrity attached to the motorcycle gangs. If there was a celebrity in one of these motorcycle gangs, it probably would make more media news. But these motorcycle gangs get indicted all the time. All the time. Hello, who's this? Google it.
Starting point is 00:51:11 It's Chris. Hey, Chris. Good morning, Chris from Atlanta. Oh, you're from Atlanta. So how you feel about what she said, Chris? Listen, I'm going to be honest with you. I think, you know, there's a perspective of freedom of speech, but you got to realize, you know,
Starting point is 00:51:23 what was said in terms of violence and things of that nature back in the day was more storytelling than it is people actually clouting about actually doing these particular things. So I applaud Danny for, you know, putting responsibility back in music, honestly. And let's be real, too, my brother. I'm 44, so I was raised in the 1900s. I'm assuming you was raised in the 1900s, too, right? 84, yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Listen, here's the thing. Them n****s was lying. 90% of the rappers back then was lying their ass off. We used to say it all the time. If rappers were doing half of what they said they were doing in their raps, they'd all be under the jail. The difference between this generation and our generation, these little dudes is really out here living that life they rapping about.
Starting point is 00:52:08 Allegedly. Allegedly. No, they are. They're rapping it in. Allegedly. Oh, yeah, it depends. I mean, some of them are. Some of them are allegedly.
Starting point is 00:52:14 You're right. Yeah, you're right. All right, brother. Thank you, Kenny. Be safe out there. Thank you. 800-585-1051. Now, Fulton County District Attorney Fannie Willis said these comments yesterday.
Starting point is 00:52:25 Some people are mad about this. Let's listen. Send me the drop used in this indictment, just one of the lyrics is, me and my crew striking out, striking in all black. Send me the drop. We'll kick in the house.
Starting point is 00:52:53 If we steal a car, we're going to take off the tag. What are your thoughts? Let's talk about it. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. I know it now. I like it. I like it. I like it. I like it. I like it. They can't hold me. You know what that is? Call me. Add your opinion to The Breakfast Club Topic. Come on. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:53:29 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us, we're talking about Fulton County D.A. Fannie Willis. Now, yesterday, 26 alleged gang members were indicted for Atlanta area home invasions, kidnappings, armed robbery, shootings. They targeted celebrities like Mariah Carey and a host of others. And she had this to say. I'm not targeting anyone.
Starting point is 00:53:54 But however, you do not get to commit crimes in my county and then decide to brag on it, which you do that for a form of intimidation and to further the gang and not be held responsible. One of the lyrics used in this indictment, just one of the lyrics is, me and my crew striking out, striking in all black, send me the drop, we'll kick in the house, if we steal a car we're going to take off the tag. Well they kick it indoors, committing home invasions, and now I'm using those lyrics that they're admitting to doing that. I'm going to continue to do that. People can continue to be angry about it.
Starting point is 00:54:27 I have some legal advice. Don't confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you do not want them used or at least get out of my county. She said nothing wrong. Some people are mad at her, but I think she's cleaning Atlanta up and she's like, look, if you're dumb enough to do the crime and put it in rhyme, you stitch it on yourself, I'm going to arrest you. That's all I want to's like, look, if you dumb enough to do the crime and put it in rhyme, you stitch it on yourself. I'm going to arrest you. That's all I want to know is, man, like if you
Starting point is 00:54:51 got to commit the crime, right, even though you don't have to, but I understand the socioeconomic conditions that lead people to do it. But if you do it, why do you get on social media and brag about it? Why do you get on rap songs and talk about the crimes y'all have committed? And then you got the nerve to say that this woman is targeting rappers when the truth to the matter is the rappers are making themselves obvious targets by bragging about what it is they're doing. Yeah. Or have done.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Right. Well, let's go to the phone lines. Dre, good morning, Dre. Yo, yo, yo. What's up, Dre? What's your thought, bro? Man, I feel like, can y'all hear me? Can we hear you?
Starting point is 00:55:25 Yeah, I got my headset on. I feel like... I mean, I definitely understand where the district attorney coming from, but it's like, how can you put all your words, all a rapper's words, and hold them accountable for that when there's clearly a lot of entertainment going on in it? Well, I think the DA and the law enforcement is smart enough to know when somebody's just rapping and when somebody's
Starting point is 00:55:48 actually, you know, rapping and doing what it is that they say they've, what they're rapping about. They're investigating. It's not like they just listen to your lyrics and say, oh, he said this, let's go get him. Right. I understand that, but if they don't, they gotta at least
Starting point is 00:56:03 have, like, clear, like, evidence, not just going off of what they say. But I'm sure they do. That's what I'm saying. I'm sure they do. That's my point. Like, I don't think they just indict these people just because of lyrics. That wouldn't make no sense. They couldn't win those type of cases. But I mean, but that's what she's saying. That's what she's going by right now. No, no, no, no, no. She's using both. She's saying that y'all are rapping about this and then this is exactly what y'all are doing. This is what we're finding out y'all are actually doing out here
Starting point is 00:56:32 in these streets. That's what she's saying. Right, right, right. We gotta have the evidence though for sure. Sure, for sure. I'm sure they do, my brother. Alright, man. Have a good one. Yeah, because you couldn't just take somebody to court because of their lyrics. That wouldn't hold up, would it? Not at all. Hello, who's this? You got to have a crime to go with it.
Starting point is 00:56:47 Hello? Hello? Hey, who's this? This is Isaiah from Jersey. You hear me? Yeah, we can hear you. What do you think, bro? Oh, all right.
Starting point is 00:56:55 So, like I said from the beginning, I think it's a good thing that there's somebody in office, in position, that's letting them know that they're not above the law. I mean, if they was good enough or bold enough to admit to their crimes in lyrics, it's good that somebody is letting them know that they won't be able to inflict that type of harm on the citizens of Fulton County or Atlanta. And somebody is finally putting them in their place. Now you have the freedom. Since America gave you the freedom to speak, you have the freedom to say what you want.
Starting point is 00:57:27 But that can and will be used against you in the court of law, and she just proved that. And I commend her for that. Okay. Well, thank you, brother. You're welcome. Let's take one more caller. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:57:40 Yo, yo, yo. DJ Henry, what's good, boy? This your boy Old School from Miami, man. Old School from Miami. What's popping, boy? This your boy Old School from Miami, man. Old School from Miami. What's popping, brother? What's going on, homie, man? Talk to us. Hey, listen, that little topic that y'all was talking about,
Starting point is 00:57:54 listen, me and my homeboys, we be on that same topic, you know what I'm saying? And it's true what Charlamagne said. You know, this generation has no limits, man. So they deserve what they get because, you know, it's a lot of crimes that's going on out here. These crimes, they, you know,
Starting point is 00:58:12 they're not getting solved. So therefore, if you go drop a record and you talk about a crime that was committed and then, you know, somebody done died or somebody done got hurt in that crime, if they come back and grab you, hey, you deserve that. That real yeah because remember when they read you your a random right it says
Starting point is 00:58:32 you have the right to remain silent anything you say or do will be used against you that's right nobody else but you you know what i'm saying so br So, bro, if you go on a reckoning and then you go drop the lyrics and they charge you with it, you deserve that, bro. That's right. Because these niggas is not remaining silent. These niggas is going in the studio with beats and they loud as hell. I killed him. I shot him.
Starting point is 00:58:57 I kicked down his door. I beat up his dog and threw his girl on the floor. Robbed him of his chains. Robbed him of his car. Robbed him of his car. Look at my face so you can know who I are. The guns in my mama house under the bed.
Starting point is 00:59:14 All you have to look at is the blanket cause it's red. Look what I was wearing on the night of the robbery. I had on Nikes and a hoodie and some pants sagging and the ass was out. Why you got an ass got a bad? Why you always go there with it?
Starting point is 00:59:28 Shut up. Like, you was going good. Like, I was about to blab, blah, blah, blah, blah, but the ass was out. Like, you always got to go there with it. Listen, here's the moral of the story. What is it? A lot of this is our fault. Why?
Starting point is 00:59:38 And the reason it's our fault is because so many rappers from our generation in the 1900s were lying, lying their ass off and it made a bunch of kids think the way to get in the game was to be the biggest criminal alive and guess what you know you can't do that okay you can't be the biggest criminal alive and be a rapper at the same time but it's our fault because we should have never let rappers lie like that for entertainment all right because if it's just art, then we have to demand that some of these people change the content
Starting point is 01:00:10 of their art because all it's doing is getting a bunch of people indicted and influencing a generation of kids wrong. That's right. Period. Alright, well. And by the way, don't make the same mistake with this DA that y'all made with C. Dolores Tucker. Because C. Dolores Tucker. Because C.
Starting point is 01:00:25 Dolores Tucker wasn't wrong. You know what I'm saying? As Snoop said when he was up here, they just didn't like C. Dolores Tucker's approach. Right. You know what I mean? But she wasn't wrong when she was telling people to change the content of their music. Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan been telling us the same thing for years.
Starting point is 01:00:39 Change the content of their music. Because once again, all you're seeing is a bunch of people getting indicted. And you're influencing a generation of their music. Because once again, all you're seeing is a bunch of people getting indicted and you're influencing a generation of kids wrong. And if you're doing that just for the sake of entertainment, just for the sake of art, you're part of the problem, bro.
Starting point is 01:00:52 And not the solution. You might as well be the same white man you claim is oppressing us all the time. All right. Now, when we come back, we got rumors.
Starting point is 01:00:59 We'll tell you about who turns out Oprah Winfrey. Now, Charlamagne, you got an announcement this morning? Yes, I do. We'll talk about it whenever time permits. What time is Now, Charlamagne, you got an announcement this morning? Yes, I do. We'll talk about it whenever time permits.
Starting point is 01:01:08 What time is that? That's next, when we come back. Okay, all right. All right, we'll get to it next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Didn't one of our listeners say they didn't want to hear that depressing ass song this morning? Yes. Requests got to work both ways.
Starting point is 01:01:19 Now, I know request is an old concept because of all the music streaming services, because you actually sound ridiculous calling a radio station to request a record when you've got Tidal and Apple and Spotify and everything else. But when somebody tells you not to play something, you should respect that and not play it, Envy. One person said it, but a million people might want to hear it. That is not true. A million people have heard it and they have it on their playlist already.
Starting point is 01:01:43 We are the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Do you know, allegedly, Jennifer Lopez fired all her Virgo dancers? Virgos be lying. If they Virgo men, drop one of the clues bombs for J-Lo for having some good-ass
Starting point is 01:01:55 common sense. Virgo men are the biggest liars on the planet. I have no problem with what she did. How dare you? I have one of our producers looking that up. How dare you disrespect Virgo during Virgo season? I don't know. Let's go to Rumor Report.
Starting point is 01:02:09 I need to hear more about this story. I don't have it now. This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee. On Breakfast Club. Wait a minute. You're telling me that you don't even know what you just said is true. That's what my producer said. And she said, yeah, it's true.
Starting point is 01:02:24 But they can get more information. You know telling me that you don't even know what you just said is true. That's what my producer said, and she said, yeah, it's true, but they can get more information. You know that makes no logical sense whatsoever. Does anything we do up here make logical sense? No, but the fact that J-Lo fired all her Virgo dances, that don't even make no sense. Yes, it says Jennifer Lopez is accused of cutting all Virgo dances during a recent audition. Cite the website.
Starting point is 01:02:39 What's the website? What's the website? Fox LA. Why Virgos? I don't know. That's what I'm trying to figure out. What's wrong with Virgos? Because Virgo men be lying their asses off. Now, allegedly
Starting point is 01:02:49 Jennifer Lopez, well, she is a Leo. She hasn't responded to the allegation. I just don't know what's wrong with the Virgos. I'm going to clue bombs for you, J-Lo. No, you don't. I'm a Virgo. My birthday's this Saturday. And if she tell me that they were all Virgo men, I definitely don't have a problem with it. Because, boy, y'all niggas be lying. F-y'all. Alright, now. Any tale of Virgo men lying their ass off so much? Oh, y'all niggas be lying. F y'all. All right, now.
Starting point is 01:03:07 Any Taylor Virgo men lie their ass off so much? Oh, y'all better stop this Virgo stuff conversation. Don't play with me. Do not play with me. I hate Virgo men. Do not play with me. Let's get to the rumors. They're not going to have this Virgo conversation. You snorting.
Starting point is 01:03:18 Oh, man. All right, now. Britney Spears has revealed that she turned down Oprah Winfrey's offer for a tell-all interview. She wanted to sit down with Britney and just get her side of the story. It was going to be called Beyond a Sit-Down. And she turned it down. Who turns down Oprah? Britney Spears.
Starting point is 01:03:37 That I'm sure countless other people have. She's probably not ready to do that. She probably don't want to be sitting down. It's not that it's an interrogation because Oprah is one of the best interviewers to ever do it. She's probably just not ready to have that conversation yet. I'm not mad at that. She probably don't want to be sitting down. It's not that it's an interrogation because Oprah's one of the best interviewers to ever do it. She's probably just not ready to have that conversation yet. I'm not mad at that. Yeah, but she tells pretty much the story on her Instagram. Maybe that's what she feels comfortable telling it. She might not
Starting point is 01:03:54 feel comfortable in that setting sitting down with Miss Oprah Winfrey. Not mad at that. Now, Chris Rock also said during his show in Phoenix the other night he was asked to host next year's award ceremony talking about the Oscars, but he refused. He says he ain't going back there right now. Oh, blame him.
Starting point is 01:04:09 And he's just not doing it. And because they only want to make a spectacle out of Chris. You know what I'm saying? Like, who want to stand up there and have to make a bunch of jokes about, you know, something that may or may not have traumatized you last year? Might got time for all that. Megan Thee Stallion, it seems like she will appear in Marvel's She-Hulk. She's in episode four. What is She-Hulk? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:04:27 Tell me. Break it down. I'm not into the Marvel stuff. She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters. That's Bruce, I started to say David Banner because I like a pimp's plan, but Bruce Banner's cousin. she, I don't want to tell you the whole thing. Do you notice if you're a comic book fan, she ended up getting some of Bruce Banner's blood inside of her and she became a Hulk herself.
Starting point is 01:04:46 You've seen the Hulk before, right? Yes, I have. So She-Hulk is self-explanatory. She's a woman Hulk. And Megan, I think she's in episode four, if I'm not mistaken. She's playing herself, though. I thought she was playing She-Hulk, so she's not playing She-Hulk. No, She-Hulk is already out. I just told you
Starting point is 01:05:01 Jennifer Walters is She-Hulk. I don't watch Marvel. I'm not into the cartoons. I don't do the fake world. It's a white woman that plays She-Hulk. I thought She-Hulk was green out. I just told you Jennifer Walters is She-Hulk. I didn't know. That's amazing. I don't watch this bar, but I'm not into the cartoons. I don't do the fake world. There's a white woman that plays She-Hulk. Oh. All right. I thought She-Hulk was green. I thought the Hulk was green. And if you don't leave me alone, if you don't leave me alone on this goddamn radio this
Starting point is 01:05:13 morning. Now we got to congratulate Karen Civil. You know Karen Civil. She's been up here a host of times, friend to the room. She's been named general manager and EVP of Young Money Entertainment. So congratulations to her. Drop her the clues Bomb for KC. KC's been with Young Money for a long time.
Starting point is 01:05:28 She was MacMaine Manager for a minute. She used to run All-O-Wings Digital. I'm sure she still does in some capacity, so that makes sense. She's been with them for a long time. That makes sense for her to get promoted in that way. Yeah, now her roles will include handling daily operations of Young Money, reporting directly to MacMaine, and making sure all the artists in the roster is happy and good.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Salute to KC, man. Karen Civil. Drop on the Clues Bomb for Karen Civil again. It's the homie. Now, Pooh Shiesty, you know he's serving five years behind bars for federal robbery. He posted this yesterday. He said, the police don't stop watching just because you're in jail. And you can go to jail
Starting point is 01:06:05 inside of jail. Just let that sink in, y'all small ass unconscious head. They go, they go, they're going to wait until I'm dead
Starting point is 01:06:13 to start listening to what I be saying. Oh, man. Salute to my guy, Pooh Shiesty, man. I was thinking about Pooh Shiesty this weekend randomly.
Starting point is 01:06:21 I actually said to myself, I'm going to send Pooh Shiesty some books or something while he's locked up. Somebody send me Pooh Shiesty's address, man. Get said to myself, I'm going to send Pooh Shiesty some books or something while he's locked up. Somebody send me Pooh Shiesty's address, man. Get him some information. I want to send him some books. Now, the story about J-Lo allegedly kicking Virgos out.
Starting point is 01:06:33 We actually have audio. I guess it's a news clip. It's Virgo season. It's Virgo season. Let's dive old. Jennifer Lopez held an audition for dancers for one of her tours. Most of the time, a dance audition, you're not getting paid.
Starting point is 01:06:47 You've been there since 10 a.m. and you're auditioning until 6 p.m. She walks in the room and she said, thank you so much. You guys have worked so hard. By a show of hands, if there are any Virgos in the room, can you just raise your hand? So a bunch of Virgos raise their hand. And she shot them on sight. She shot them on sight. She shot them on sight. She looked at them
Starting point is 01:07:07 and she said, thank you so much for coming. Get out of here! Wow. What happened? She fired them, got rid of them. I ain't hear that just now.
Starting point is 01:07:17 She just said, thank you so much for coming. Are you listening? I didn't get that. I didn't hear you're fired. I thought you were about to say you're fired. Oh, she said,
Starting point is 01:07:24 get out of here. Yeah said get out of here. Yeah, get out of here. Sometimes you got to run Virgos away because they be lying so damn much. That don't mean they fired. No, she did. They saying that. Still trying to figure the story out. Yes.
Starting point is 01:07:37 Look at you. I don't know. That is your rumor. I'm not mad at her, though. Because Virgos be lying their ass off so damn much. No, y'all don't be lying. Y'all be trying to take advantage of us. Lord have mercy.
Starting point is 01:07:47 Yes, we sent to them. No, they don't. Yes, we sent to them. Virgos be egotistical. No. Especially Virgo men. They be egotistical. They be narcissistic as hell.
Starting point is 01:07:54 And they be lying, lying, lying. No, that is not true. They lie like a horse on the side of the road or whatever the hell Jamaicans be saying. A horse on the side of the road. What is that? Why does a horse? Whatever the hell Jamaicans be saying about horses lying somewhere. What?
Starting point is 01:08:07 Just be lying. Goodness gracious. That is your rumor point. I don't like this slander on Virgos. This ain't slander. This is the truth. It's not the truth. No, it's not the truth.
Starting point is 01:08:14 So whatever... Virgos are the nicest people. We're sensitive. We're caring. We're loving. And we don't take the BS. That's it. You talking about Kansas.
Starting point is 01:08:21 I'm talking about myself. I ain't here lying yet. So you know, see, that's exactly why Virgos be lying. They won't even admit about being lying. If I'd have said cancers, I'd have said short, little pee-pees. Everything I'd have described you. You got to stop this. You really got to stop describing my penis.
Starting point is 01:08:34 Like, I don't know why you do this. And then, see, have I said anything this morning in any remote way about my penis? Man on man sex, nothing. You see who initiates it every morning. Logan. What great Logan going to, man? You got to stop this. You see who initiates it every morning. Logan. What great Logan going to, man? You gotta stop this. You got a son, bro. He's gonna be a senior next year. You not tired of his friend saying that your daddy's suspect
Starting point is 01:08:54 yet? Huh? They don't just say I'm suspect. They say you're suspect too. I haven't said anything. I have not said nothing. If it was me, then I'd be in a little high. Stop. Stop, bro. Stop. We. Me and you. You and me. You ain't had, then I'd be in for a little high. Stop. Stop, bro. Stop. We. Me and you.
Starting point is 01:09:06 You and me. You ain't had to say nothing about penis. Us together. You could have just said short, you know, sensitive, emotional. You ain't had to say nothing about my penis size. Why? You right. When you're right, you're right.
Starting point is 01:09:16 Damn. God, man. Virgos. See what I'm saying? Well, then who are you giving your donkey to? Virgos. You need a little pump to come to the front of the congregation. I'd like to have a conversation with Lil Pump this morning.
Starting point is 01:09:27 All right. We'll get to that next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Yes, donkey of the day for Tuesday, August 30th goes to Lil Pump. Lil Pump is a rapper, and I'm not here to slander Lil Pump. I'm here to talk to the young man this morning because this donkey of the day isn't just an indictment of Lil Pump. He's just the latest in a long line of folks who, for some reason, like to downplay what other people are going through mentally.
Starting point is 01:09:49 All right. If you haven't heard the good brother, Russ, drop on the clues bombs for us. I respect that young man. To me, he represents everything that's right. I love what that man stands for. And he's announced that he's canceling his European tour to take a mental health break. Salute to Russ. OK, because there was a time when the conversation around mental health was so stigmatized that people couldn't be open about their mental health issues. Like, we would have to make up all types of silly stuff, lying to get out of things, because we couldn't just say, hey, man, you know, mentally, I'm not going to be able to do it. All right?
Starting point is 01:10:19 Whether it's anxiety, depression, grief, whatever it is that's, you know, keeping you from showing up to be yourself. We were afraid to just say that. But now we've gotten to a beautiful point in our society where when folks feel mentally exhausted, they can just say they're mentally exhausted. And I, for one, respect it and appreciate it. So when folks like Russ announced they are pulling out of something for mental health reasons, as someone who deals with their own you know anxiety and bouts of depression and grief i overstand you know why he's pulling out of his european tour so it really bothers me when folks like little pump make statements like this you think you got mental health issues i'm from bay county bitch i was born mental health issues how about you deal with this stop being a and you know damn who i'm talking to, boy. Your ass has canceled a whole Europe tour, b***h.
Starting point is 01:11:07 Stop f***ing canceling s***. Hop on that f***ing plane and go do your shows, you f***ing p***y. Lil Pump, that's corny as hell. Okay, number one, I'm sick of people using the P word as an insult. Alright, how do you insult someone by calling them something that so many people enjoy? Alright, not to mention, there's nothing weak about a vagina, sir. In fact, they should make tires out of the same material as vagina walls. You would never need a new tire.
Starting point is 01:11:31 Okay. They would be the most durable wheels on the planet. But I digress. What I'm really sick of is people trying to downplay what other humans are going through mentally. How do you know what Russ is feeling on the inside? Not to mention, Pump, I heard you say that you fromida and you've been dealing with mental health issues your whole life you know your uncle charla agrees with that because the craziest people in america come from the bronx and all
Starting point is 01:11:53 of florida but i would love to know pump how exactly are you dealing with those mental health issues huh that you say you are dealing with because you're probably dealing with them the same way a lot of us used to by suppressing them okay by staying busy oh you didn't know uh staying busy as a trauma response huh i know i know you find relief in your work you find relief in that studio well guess what most symptoms of ptsd reflect someone who is capable of functioning in the world as long as they remain stimulated because you are afraid of what will happen when you stop moving. For pumping anyone else who wants to downplay what people are going through in regards to their mental health.
Starting point is 01:12:31 When you stop suppressing your emotions and numbing yourself with drugs and alcohol, you know, staying busy. Watch what happens to you. OK, when you have a complete mental and emotional breakdown because you've just been running, running, running, pushing, pushing, pushing, not stopping to deal with anything. Watch what happens. I guarantee you, it's just going to be a wham. You're going to hit that wall. And guess what? When you hit that wall, the only thing you're going to be able to do is lean on that wall and rest. Sometimes walls are there so we can lean on them and rest. That's why we hit them. Okay. I just want all of us to be more compassionate when it comes to people who deal with mental health issues, because it's hard enough trying to explain something that you don't fully understand. And if you are a person that doesn't fully understand it, just be quiet.
Starting point is 01:13:17 Okay. Because I guarantee little pump at some point, you are going to be dealing with something in your head that you don't quite understand. And it's not until we are lost that we begin to understand ourselves. And Pump, when you get lost, we will be here to help you find your way. OK, when you need it. But in the meantime, please understand the best way to keep your peace of mind is to not disturb the peace of mind of others. Please give little Pump the biggest,
Starting point is 01:13:45 please. All right. I just don't understand it. Like I'm just, why when somebody says they have to pull out of something because of mental health issues, somebody has to come out and say, has to come out and call BS on it.
Starting point is 01:14:01 Well, why? Let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051. When people say mental health, do you agree? Do you believe them? We do understand that, you know, the conversation around mental health has been stigmatized, you know, for so long.
Starting point is 01:14:19 And I hear people say things like, oh, you know, people are just, you know, talking about this stuff so much now because it's trendy. Or maybe because people have the confidence to speak about it now because so many people are talking about it. No, I get it. But it is a line, right? And the reason I say it's a line because, you know, when somebody commits a crime or somebody does something and they get caught, the first thing they say is it's mental health related.
Starting point is 01:14:46 And sometimes I don't necessarily believe this. Well, it probably is, but that don't mean that they don't have to deal with the consequences of their actions. Right. But sometimes I, and it's just me thinking, sometimes I think it's bull crap. How do you got to go to the extreme? I ain't talking about that.
Starting point is 01:14:58 I'm talking about stuff like rust. I'm just talking about. You're pulling out of things. But I'm just talking, it's an excuse that I feel that people use and I feel like when people are really going through it, people don't believe it because I feel sometimes people use it as an excuse. Well, when people are really going through it and they talk about it, people don't believe them either. So what the hell are you supposed to do when you talk about a line? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:15:18 I'm damned if I do damned if I don't. If I talk about it, then you're just using as an excuse to pull out of your tour. Oh, you just don't want to fight. You know what I mean? But if I don't say anything and I just push through and I show up and I'm not my best self and I project all this negativity on the people, whose fault is it then? See, this is going to sound foul. This is going to sound foul.
Starting point is 01:15:39 Well, shut up then. No, I'm not. But if I don't want to go to work, what's the easiest excuse that nobody really can check? What's the reason you're not going to work, though? I have mental health issues. But what if it's really that? I don't have to explain what it is. I just got mental health issues.
Starting point is 01:15:52 Exactly. And you shouldn't. That's my point. You shouldn't have to. Because some things are out of our realm of understanding. Like, it's hard enough to try to explain something that you don't even fully understand yourself. You know, before. You just wake up some days and you're like, I don't want to show up.
Starting point is 01:16:03 When you was in that damn, when they had to check your ass into the hospital and you was in there with the little robe on with your ass out and you escaped to go DJ in the club, wasn't you going through something mentally and emotionally? What did you just say? My ass out. See? That's the first thing you said. You could have just said I was stuck in the thing with a robe on, but you said my ass out.
Starting point is 01:16:20 That's what you said, my ass out. That's what you said, my ass out. You escaped the hospital, bro. You had the hospital gown on. Was you not in the club with your ass out? I was not in the club, my ass out. I'm talking about, I'm talking about, I'm talking about. That's what you said, my ass out. You escaped the hospital, bro. You had the hospital gown on. Was you not in the club with your ass out? I was not in the club with my ass out. What part of it? Did you not escape the hospital with your ass out? No, my ass wasn't out.
Starting point is 01:16:32 How do we get the ass? We're talking about brains here. You were talking about the ass. Shut up. The moral of the story is I'm sick of y'all acting like people who are dealing with mental health issues are lying. I'm tired of it. I mean.
Starting point is 01:16:42 Like, why do y'all do this? Let's talk about it. 800-585-1051. I'm just saying, before the excuse, you can always say your kid. My kid is sick. You ain't got to go somewhere. Nobody's going to check on your kid. Why would you lie on your kid? Most people do that. A lot of people do that. Now, as you say, mental health, there's no question. You can't ask, well, what's mentally
Starting point is 01:16:55 wrong with you? What are you thinking about? What are you going through? You just got to give me space. That's none of your business. That's right. Give me my goddamn space. Back, back. Give me 60 feet. 800-585-1051. Let's discuss. Whatever it was with COVID. Let's discuss. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:17:08 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Donk here today is brought to you by the law office of Michael S. Laminsoff. This is not an iHeartRadio contest.
Starting point is 01:17:18 It's a paid advertisement by ResortSafe with the purpose of soliciting sales of vacation ownership. Some terms and conditions apply. Airfare not included. If you want to go on a family vacation to Orlando, Las Vegas, or Cancun,
Starting point is 01:17:29 Resort Save is giving away a magical getaway for just $2.99 to the first callers that can name an animal that lays eggs and is not a bird. Do you know it? An animal that lays eggs and is not a bird. Call now, 800-208-0414. 800-208-0414 800-208-0414 If you're between the first 20 callers, you also get a Bahamas
Starting point is 01:17:50 cruise. And don't worry about COVID ruining your travel. They're lying. They need to suck it up. They're just scared. They need to push through. Do you realize pushing through is what has caused that person to hit the wall? They've probably been pushing through their whole life,
Starting point is 01:18:06 you know, staying busy, which is a response to trauma. That's what staying busy is, a response to trauma, because when you stop for that moment, you've got to deal with all the things you've been running from. Yeah, no, I get it. That's why COVID was such an eye-opener for so many people, and it made so many people start sitting down to go talk to therapists and whatnot, because COVID made us be still for the first time.
Starting point is 01:18:25 And a lot of us didn't like what we saw. Yeah, no, I get it. And I do believe people do have mental issues. But I also feel like people use it as an excuse. I feel like it's an easy excuse to use because it's something that can't be checked. It can't it can't be verified. It's just something within yourself. And I feel like people tend to use it.
Starting point is 01:18:43 Let me ask a simple question. Who are we to say, hey, this person's lying about what they're going through mentally, what they're going through emotionally? How the hell do we know? And I know that if somebody like Russ is walking away from millions of dollars, that's the thing. Like, Russ isn't hurting anybody. Nobody.
Starting point is 01:19:00 Correct. The only person that's going to suffer in this situation is Russ. If he's walking away from millions of dollars for whatever reason, already got a sold out European tour. That lets me know clearly there's something wrong. And I salute Russ that, you know, he's able to articulate what it is that he's going through mentally. Because for so long, so many of us couldn't like, oh, you be dealing with mental issues. You be dealing with emotional issues and you couldn't say,, hey man, I'm suffering from mental health issues. You gotta make up some other excuse. Like you said earlier, something about lying on your dog or something
Starting point is 01:19:30 like that. I didn't say nothing about that. You said something about the dog eating kids or something. What'd you say? What are you talking about? What did you say? It was something about the kids or something. I don't remember what it was. All I'm simply saying, but whatever it was, it's stupid excuses like that we used to have to make up. Oh, I would say that people would always say that their kids were sick, but it would be an excuse or that's right something like that that's
Starting point is 01:19:47 right well let's go to the phone lines hello who's this good morning this is alicia from florida hey alicia talk to us alicia what's your thoughts so i actually am i actually am a mental health counselor down in south florida um sorry my kids are excited to hear you guys. Tell them we said peace. They hear you. What's up, guys? I am a mental health counselor down in Florida. And I mean, every single day I work in residential treatment down here.
Starting point is 01:20:16 And we have people that, you know, our CEOs of companies, our professional athletes, you know, our stay-at-home moms or teachers. We have a special education teacher in my center right now who had a mental health breakdown, and I cannot imagine this woman, she's in a psychotic break at this moment, she should be teaching second graders. That's her job that she's on leave from, and I cannot even imagine this woman showing up to work for five minutes without a catastrophe occurring. Wow.
Starting point is 01:20:46 So people really need to understand mental health is not a joke. It's not an excuse. People can use it as an excuse, just like during the pandemic, people called off because they said they had a fever or whatever, and you just let it slide because you'd rather them not come around and bring their potential, you know, negative exposures to the workplace if they need to do something to focus on themselves or to get themselves in their best health space. So, you know, when these performers, especially these artists, celebrities, a lot of them do have anxiety that's crippling.
Starting point is 01:21:19 A lot of them do have, you know, identity issues that they struggle with just showing up and putting out this image that they're somebody that we all expect them to be. And if they fall short of that, like Charlamagne said, we criticize them for that. We criticize them if they snap. We criticize them if they have a bad night. So when these people say they just need a day off
Starting point is 01:21:39 or a night off or they've got to cancel a tour, I feel like we all as a people need to learn how to respect those boundaries that people are trying to put up. Man, that's real. Why you hang up on the lady? I was going to tell her to give out her information. See, you're part of the problem, yo. I'm part of the problem?
Starting point is 01:21:55 You are part of the problem. You. You with the fake beard. Looking suspicious over there. I don't look suspicious, man. See, that's your problem. I'm hurt by every time you talk bad about me. What? I'm hurt. Hurt by what?
Starting point is 01:22:08 By you talking bad about me. Ain't nobody talking bad about you. You just said... I'm not talking bad about your beard. I ain't saying nothing about you. But that's me. That ain't you. That's me. That's not you. It's not even yours. That's me. If you didn't spray it on, I wouldn't say nothing about it. If you left that in the can at home, I would have nothing to say about it. 800-585-1051. We're
Starting point is 01:22:23 talking about mental health. You know, Lil Pump made fun of Russ and said it was some bull crap, and we're asking when people say they're going through mental problems, do you believe them? You should. And by the way, who are you to even act like they're lying? You don't know what's going on in that person's head. Let's talk about it. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:22:39 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy and Jaleel Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you're just joining us, Charlamagne Tha Guy we are The Breakfast Club. Now if you're just joining us Charlamagne gave Donkey the date a little pump Yes man a little pump criticized Russ cause Russ just pulled out of his European tour cause Russ said that you know he's dealing with some
Starting point is 01:22:55 mental health issues. I for one as a person who deals with anxiety and depression I totally overstand you know what Russ is feeling and I think it's dope that we've gotten to a point in our society that, you know, somebody like a Russ can say that and people understand it. You know what I mean? There was a time when mental health was so stigmatized, you couldn't say you was dealing with mental health issues and pull out of a show. Right.
Starting point is 01:23:18 I mean, yo, just a few. When Kanye did it, how many years ago? Four or five years ago, everybody was like, oh, my God. Kanye just, you know, he's just using it as an excuse. Clearly, you know, he had some things going on mentally that he needed to handle. Well, Lauren from Twitter just hit us on Twitter. It says, some people do use mental health as a scapegoat, she believes. She said, I know someone who used mental health as a reason not to do work.
Starting point is 01:23:43 Sis was out for three weeks. And that was coming from Lauren J. Oh, that's Lauren on Twitter. Let me ask Lauren something. How does she know that sister was lying? She don't. Like, why? Why? Why? Because y'all sitting around work gossiping. She ain't even nothing wrong with her. I seen her in Whole Foods the other day. She looked perfectly fine.
Starting point is 01:23:59 You don't know what's going on in that woman's head. I mean, maybe Lauren's seen her at a concert. I don't know. Maybe she's seen her at a side. And if she was at a concert, so what? That concert probably was helping her get into a better place mentally. So what? Hello, who's this? What's up? This is Brian.
Starting point is 01:24:13 Good morning, y'all. How y'all doing? What up, Brian? Brian, good morning. What's your thoughts, brother? Yeah, I just, I want to say I disagree with you, Charlamagne, as far as the mental health. I've worked in the mental health setting, and I think the problem is, I think the problem is accountability right and just like mb said like if somebody if you getting to a trouble or
Starting point is 01:24:29 something like that you can't be you can't relinquish accountability by saying oh it's my mental health that's why the public and that's why people don't really that's why people don't really take it serious as serious as they should because that's what happens. People nowadays, when it comes to accountability and publicity and wanting attention, they lean on mental health. And these kids, and bringing it back to Lil Pump, these are kids in the music industry, right? This guy who Lil Pump was going after, he might have a mental health issue or problem.
Starting point is 01:25:10 But when you're in that setting, you can't just go, okay, you know what? Oh, mental health. Oh, that's what Britney Spears had a mental health breakdown or problem. She sought counseling, and she actively dealt with it. And that was in a public eye. Hey, my brother, can I ask you a question? Because you used Britney Spears as an example. Britney Spears might not even have hit that wall if she was able to get the help she needed, you know, four or five years prior. We don't know.
Starting point is 01:25:32 Britney might have been crying out for help behind the scenes. And people kept telling her, no, go out there. Go out there. Push, push, push. Keep performing. Keep performing. Keep performing. Then when she finally hits the wall and shaves her head and beats the car with an umbrella, we say to ourselves, oh, see, she really got to have a mental health issue. Why does it
Starting point is 01:25:47 have to go that far? It does. It doesn't. It's not that it has to go that far, Shalameen, but at the point, she actually, we've seen her, we've seen her go through it, right? So you have to see me, you have to see me physically have an emotional and mental breakdown in order for people to believe it. That's BS, my brother. And you know that. No, no, no. No, it has to be dealt with in a fashion where I'm going to seek help.
Starting point is 01:26:12 She was asking for help. We all know that. And you can't put everybody in an umbrella when they say, oh, mental health, everybody's dealing with it. Well, let me ask you one more question. If somebody comes to you right now and they say, hey, man, I'm having a mental health issue. I need a couple of days off. Who are you to tell them that they lying? You don't know what's going on in this person's head? No.
Starting point is 01:26:31 No, no, no. Not at all. And I'm not saying that. If somebody did come to me and say, hey, I got a mental health issue. I need a couple of days off. Granted, yes, you can have it. But how are you dealing with it? It's not, yo, I got a mental health issue.
Starting point is 01:26:42 I need a couple of days off. And you look at their Instagram and they're in Florida chilling. They're like, oh, yeah, I dealt with it. That's part of it. Oh, not, yo, I got a mental health issue. I need a couple days off. And you look at their Instagram and they're in Florida chilling and like, oh, yeah, I dealt with it. That's part of, oh, no, no, no. That's part of disconnecting. That's part of getting your mental health in order. Yes, it is. A therapist
Starting point is 01:26:57 will tell you that. A psychiatrist will tell you that. Yes. No. Yes. Go in an environment that is going to Go into an environment that is going to feed you what you need in order to get back right. Yes. Sheldon, man, that's BS, man. Why is that BS? All right, guys.
Starting point is 01:27:20 If you have a mental health issue, Envy, if I say I have a mental health issue and you got a party on Friday, I'm going to your party. I'm going to go hang out. Does that make sense? It doesn't at times. We didn't say party. You said on the beach in Florida. You said on a beach in Florida. You didn't say nothing about a party.
Starting point is 01:27:39 But I also feel like people do use it as an excuse. I mean, you can't decipher who's using that excuse and who doesn't. But I do feel that it's an excuse. I mean, you can't decipher who's using that excuse and who doesn't. Well, let me ask you a question. But I do feel that it's an excuse that people widely use. You said, Envy, when you was suicidal and they had to check you in a hospital. Correct. You left to go DJ. Why did you go DJ?
Starting point is 01:27:56 I didn't leave to go DJ. I left because I didn't want to be there. I thought you went to go DJ. I didn't go DJ. No. I had a party that night. They sent the police to the club because they thought I was going to the club. Oh, I thought you went to DJ because what I was going to say is you probably went to
Starting point is 01:28:06 DJ because DJing helps you get your mind off whatever it is you're going to. I knew they were looking for me, but yes, DJ does. I mean, I would have went to DJ because, like you said, I would have did anything that keeps my mind off of what the pain was at the time. So for myself, when I consider pain or I consider things that I can't deal with it, I like to work because work keeps my mind functioning. That's a trauma response. And I'm cool with it.
Starting point is 01:28:28 Or I like to sleep because both of those times I don't feel those pains. You like the what? What was the second one? Sleep. Boom. Sleep. Okay. Because when I'm sleeping, you don't feel the pain.
Starting point is 01:28:39 You don't think about it. And when I'm working, I don't think about it. I had to learn how to deal with my own problems back then. Okay. They got them in a better place now. Let me give you another example. Michael Jordan. Yes.
Starting point is 01:28:48 Michael Jordan's father got killed. Correct. Michael Jordan decides to retire. Mm-hmm. Went to go play baseball, do whatever he needed to do. Do you remember back in the day? They killed him. Everybody made up all kind of reasons.
Starting point is 01:29:00 Like, oh, he had a gambling problem. Killed him. And he really got suspended. Correct. No, the man was grieving. He was. And he went to go do whatever it is he needed to do to get his mind back right. Whether it was playing baseball
Starting point is 01:29:12 or whatever it was. Why do we do this to people? Who are we to say what somebody is going through mentally and emotionally? How do we know? You're right. And however they choose to respond to that is how they choose to respond to that. If they want to play baseball, if they want to go to the club, whatever it is, whatever a person is trying to do to get themselves mentally right,
Starting point is 01:29:30 they should be allowed to go do it, man. Is that the moral of the story? That is the moral of the story. All right. And I have an announcement since we're having all of this conversation about mental health. Yes, sir. You know, World Mental Health Day is coming, so I have an announcement when we come back. Okay.
