The world's most dangerous morning show. DJ Envy. Your people's choice. Angela Yee.
Starting point is 00:03:36 I'm a sweetheart, but I'll cut you. Charlamagne Tha God. Principals and people. I can't believe you guys are the best, kid. Collectively known as Breakfast Club, bitches. Good morning, USA. Hey, good morning. Hello.
Starting point is 00:04:03 What's up, Envy? Charlamagne is out today. He's pushing in books. But it's Monday! Yes, back to the work week. Are we ever all in the same place at the same time? Starting tomorrow, we'll be all back. Last week was just a crazy week.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I know you were in L.A. shooting The Real. Congratulations on that. You did an amazing job. You watched The Real? I did a couple episodes to see if you mentioned my name, and you did.. You did an amazing job. You watched The Real? I did a couple episodes to see if you mentioned my name and you did. So you did a great job. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Yes. And I was in St. Thomas over the weekend. Where did the island happen? Well, it's this icon of the island's talent search. So I'm one of the judges and Yandy is the host of it.
Starting point is 00:04:41 So we were in St. Thomas watching talent. We spend the whole day watching people perform and audition, and then we have to whittle it down. I'm going to send you some video footage. No, I'll pass, but I would have did that for cheap. You should have put me in the island on weekends.
Starting point is 00:04:56 I definitely would have did that. You wouldn't even put me in. Can I keep my own money, please? No, listen, you definitely could have did it. If you want to do something, we have some more coming up. Yeah, absolutely. We'll be in St. Martin have did it if you want to do something. We have some more coming up. Yeah, absolutely. We'll be in St. Martin. We'll be back in the Bahamas again. It's not a bad gig. That sounds great
Starting point is 00:05:12 to me. Over the weekend, I was in the Carolinas, South Carolina and North Carolina. I had to do our guy Chris. He does our day party each and every year. He had C.I.A. with us. It was his birthday, so I DJ'd his birthday day party. He had about 2,000, 3,000 people. Three floors, rampacked.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Really, really great time. It was an all-white party. It was dope. And then I stopped by Charlamagne's book signing. He was actually in South Carolina doing his book signing. Oh, that's random. I didn't know you guys were both out there.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Yeah, so I stopped through there, and then I went to North Carolina after that. Now, let me tell you, the weather in the Carolinas right now sucks. I'm talking rain, rain, rain. Like like nonstop rain for like three, four days. Nothing like rain on a Monday. Yeah, nothing like rain on a Monday. So a lot to talk about today.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Front page news. We'll talk about American Airlines. Another issue on the plane, of course, captured on video. Let's see how they explain this one. And CNN, what is going on over there right now? We'll tell you some more allegations that have come forward. I hate to say this, but somebody's going to have to learn on one of these airlines one day.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Somebody's going to have to get effed up. Well, not CNN, actually Fox. But she works at CNN. No, I was talking about Fox, but CNN, Allison Camerota from CNN is talking about what happened at Fox. All right, we'll talk about it when we come back. Keep it locked. Front page news on the way.
Starting point is 00:06:26 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Now, NBA Cleveland swept Indiana Pacers, beating them 106-102. Houston Rockets beat OKC one-third.
Starting point is 00:06:43 One-third. Houston leads the series 3-1, but Russell Westbrook is still busting some ass out there. Boston Celtics beat the Bulls 104-95. They tied the Series 2-2. And the Utah Jazz beat the Clippers 105-98 to tie the Series 2-2. Now,
Starting point is 00:06:58 let's talk CNN. What's been going on, Ye? Okay, well, this is actually CNN's Allison Camarota. She is an American journalist who co-anchors CNN's New Day. She also used to co-anchor CNN Tonight, but before that, she worked for 16 years at Fox News. And now she has some things to say about what happened with the CEO at Fox News, Roger Ailes. Here's what she had to say. Roger Ailes did sexually harass me when I was first starting out at Fox and I was single.
Starting point is 00:07:24 And I remember being in Roger's office and I was single. And I remember Roger being in Roger's office and I was saying that I wanted more opportunity. And he said, well, I would have to work with you really closely. And it may require us getting to know each other better. And that might have to happen away from here. And it might have to happen at a hotel do you know what i'm saying all right yeah craziness and she seems like a reputable person you know and here's what else she had to say about roger ailes and fox news and i said yeah i think i do know what you're saying and i just want to say that i knew in my head at that moment i'm never going to that hotel under any circumstances. But I didn't know what that meant for me and for my career. And I remember vividly that I had sort of an out-of-body
Starting point is 00:08:12 experience hovering over us in the office and thinking, is this it? Will I be fired if I don't do this? She goes on to say that he was grossly inappropriate with things that he would say. And after she did not go to that hotel, he was a bit of a bully, mean and kind of always harassing her about the news. Maybe I just seem dumb but you would think that it wouldn't happen that people would treat each other the right way. I mean
Starting point is 00:08:36 maybe that's just me. Maybe I haven't seen it in my workplace. I have never seen anybody say anything disrespectful to you like that and if they did I would probably step in and try to whoop their ass. I think sometimes it's the culture of the environment where you work. If the CEO acts like that and the biggest star, Bill O'Reilly, acts like that and all the men that work there act like that, then people feel like it's okay.
Starting point is 00:08:56 And then as a woman, you feel intimidated. Well, if I say this, this could ruin my career. If I go public with this, no one's going to believe me. They'll accuse me of being a liar. I'll never get a job again. So sometimes people just don't say anything. Right. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Now let's talk about American Airlines. Yes, American Airlines. What is going on with these airlines? Now there is video footage that captures the moments after an employee allegedly hit a woman with her stroller. She had her stroller. He grabbed it from her. He nearly missed hitting the baby that she had in her arms. One person tweeted out, oh, my God, American Airlines flight attendant violently took a stroller. He grabbed it from her. He nearly missed hitting the baby that she had in her arms. One person tweeted out, oh, my God, American Airlines flight attendant violently took a stroller from a lady with her baby on my flight, hitting her and just missing the baby.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Then he tried to fight a passenger who stood up for her. Here's the video footage from right after. Hey, bud, you do that to me and I'll knock you flat. Hey, you say, I'll knock you flat. Come on, Tony. Come on. I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to do that to me and I'll knock you flat. You say out of... Come on, Tony. Come on. Come on. Come on.
Starting point is 00:09:46 I wanted you... Hit me. You get the... Hit me. Get the... Come on. You try that with him and I'll knock you out. Well, you don't know what the story is.
Starting point is 00:09:55 I don't care what the story is. I almost heard a baby. Okay, so that was one of the passengers standing up for her on the plane. He doesn't care what the story is. You almost hit a baby with the stroller. Yeah, I mean, she was trying to allegedly put the stroller in the bin up top and it wouldn't fit.
Starting point is 00:10:08 And he grabbed it from her. So he snatched it out, hit her, and almost hit the baby. Yeah, she's lucky. She's lucky her husband wasn't there, her boyfriend wasn't there because he could have got, he should have got his ass whooped.
Starting point is 00:10:16 And I commend that passenger for standing up for somebody that he doesn't know because it was absolutely positively wrong. But he should have punched that flight attendant in the face. Once that flight attendant said, what you going to do, hit me?
Starting point is 00:10:26 Yes, I'm going to hit you, because what you did was disrespectful. People are going to have to start learning. There has to be consequences to the stupid things that they do. There has to be. Well, there should be consequences in this, being that they have video footage
Starting point is 00:10:36 and witnesses and everything. So people like that should never be working on an airline. It's a service-oriented business. And you could tell that American Airlines thought they were wrong because on the next flight, they flew her and her kids first class. First class, that's right.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Yeah, they knew they were wrong and the guy got suspended, but that's not enough. It's still traumatizing. Absolutely. She's sitting there crying. She has a baby. She almost hit her baby.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Nah. All right, well, that is your front page news. All right, thank you, Miss Yee. Now, tell them why you're mad or tell them why you're blessed. 800-585-1051. You can tell us both, whatever it may be. Maybe you had a great weekend and everything was positive and you're celebrating your birthday.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Call us up. Tell them why you're blessed. Maybe you had work and it was on an island and you got a tan on your way back. Hey, tell them why you're blessed. I didn't have time to have a tan. Maybe you're the person's co-worker that went on an island over the weekend and you're pissed off about it. And you were in North Carolina. It's been raining all weekend, whatever it may be.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Tell them why you're mad. 800-585-1051. Call us up right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Hey, yo, this is DMX. You know what makes me mad?
Starting point is 00:11:40 When people ask for the truth but can't handle the truth. Now tell them why you're mad on The Breakfast Club, bitches. Hello, who's this? Yo, this is Gary from Atlanta. What's up, bro? You feel blessed this morning, man? Absolutely, man. Last week, man, y'all really dropped some gems in my life.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Charlemagne Tha God's book, man. I've been reading it and highlighting it just like I do the Bible, man. There's some great things in that thing. And then that David Banner piece y'all put on last week, man. I mean, both of them was just moving, man. So it started my week from last week to this week going off right. Oh, good for you. I'm glad you're inspired, man.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Every single day something should inspire you. Hello, who's this? This is Will from the 757. You mad or you blessed, bro? Which one? I'm mad, man. Uh-oh. Why you mad, man?
Starting point is 00:12:27 I said the basketball guys aren't blessed enough to watch me. Like they should be. That man's sweeping. They all blessing him. He's getting triple-doubles damn near every game. The last three games he had triple. They blessing him. They just not blessing his team.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Yeah, that's true. But they need to get out the first round. I mean, I don't know about that. He's passing to players that I've never even heard of in my life, but I'm surprised that he even made it. He's doing an amazing job, but not a great cast. Hello, who's this? My name is Susan.
Starting point is 00:12:54 I'm from Columbus, Ohio. Hey, Susan, you blessed or mad this morning? Both, I guess you could say. I just want to say I'm a little bit mad, I guess, at our system, our judicial system for making parents a little bit mad, I guess, at our system, our judicial system, for making parents a little afraid to discipline their children in the right way. And in return, we're getting children that are not afraid of the law. They're not afraid of their parents.
Starting point is 00:13:17 And, you know, it's bringing up a generation that doesn't respect authority because of the lack of discipline. Let me guess. You disciplined your child. Your child went to school, and you got in trouble for it. No. Actually, I have a biracial little sister. I took her in. She had got a spanking, and children's services were called because of the spanking.
Starting point is 00:13:43 They filed child abuse charges on us because we spanked her and she wasn't our child. But we had taken her in and adopted her. Right. That should be your child. How bad was the spanking? Did it leave marks? There was a handprint on her behind.
Starting point is 00:13:59 There was a handprint. I'm assuming that's more than likely why they were even involved. Which, you know, that shouldn't have even happened. But now it's, you know, basically we're kind of afraid to even raise a hand to our children. Well, now a handprint on her behind
Starting point is 00:14:17 sounds a bit much. How old was she? She was five. Why are they looking at her behind? That's a whole other story. I'm not even sure how that happened. She was going to a visit to her biological mother when that had happened. So I'm not sure how they came across it.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Her biological mom probably told on you, but you should be able to discipline your child. It's a shaky ground, and you shouldn't discipline your child when you're upset, but you should have the right to discipline your child. Not's a shaky ground and you shouldn't discipline your child when you're upset, but you should have the right to discipline your child. Not excessively, though. You shouldn't be excessive, but I discipline my children and my children all came out pretty good to me. You know? Alright, tell them why you're blessed. Tell them why you're mad.
Starting point is 00:14:57 Either or. 800-585-1051. If you're upset, you need to vent, you can call us. Or if you're feeling blessed, maybe it's your birthday, maybe you're celebrating something, call us as well. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Listen up. Are you blessed and highly favored?
Starting point is 00:15:16 I feel blessed. Tell the congregation at 800-585-1051. It's a celebration. It's The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Yo, what's good, man? It's DB. Hey, tell them why you're blessed, bro.
Starting point is 00:15:28 I'm blessed a lot of ways, man. You always got to be blessed and positive. You know what I mean? I'm blessed to be finishing Charlemagne's book. I'm blessed to be a two-time felon. And back out here as an operations manager, almost hitting 100. You know what I mean? That's what it is, man.
Starting point is 00:15:43 That sounds like a blessing to me. Blessings on a Monday. Hello, who's this? Oh, this is Nene Hurst from Detroit. Hi, DJ Nene. Good morning, mama. Tell them why you're blessed this morning. Well, I'm blessed because this week has already started off to be amazing.
Starting point is 00:15:58 For the past couple of months, I have been out of work. So I stopped working to take care of my mom because she was like really, really sick. She had an aortaorder and an original. She almost died from it. But thank God she's not. She's doing much better. And this week I just got, or Friday, I got a job offer to actually go work for Dan Gilbert for one of his talks. Woo-woo!
Starting point is 00:16:17 Good for you. Nice. I'm extremely excited and extremely blessed. And at the moment I thought it wasn't going to work out. God showed up and showed out. So I'm just completely happy. Well, congratulations to you on getting a great new job. Hello, who's this? Good morning, Angela.
Starting point is 00:16:32 It's Snack Man. Hey, Snack Man. Okay, so Snack Man always has the funniest jokes. He's a stand-up comedian. What you got for us, Snack Man? You've been missing in action. Hold on. I needed something to happen.
Starting point is 00:16:45 So why was Aaron Hernandez put into general population? Why? He was a tight end. Ha ha ha. All right. Okay. I mean,
Starting point is 00:16:54 you have the worst jokes ever. I don't know why you call yourself a comedian or why you would even disrespect any of the comedians He's blessed, Envy. This is telling why you're blessed. That was a horrible joke.
Starting point is 00:17:04 That wasn't funny. Did you laugh? You didn't giggle. You didn't chuckle. You didn't even say ha ha. You is Tell Him Why You're Blessed. That was a horrible joke. That wasn't funny. Did you laugh? You didn't giggle. You didn't chuckle. You didn't even say ha-ha. You didn't even throw out a LOL. It's Snack Man. That's a resident stand-up comedian.
Starting point is 00:17:13 All right. Well, tell him why you're mad or tell him why you're blessed. 800-585-105-198. We got rumors on the way. Yes, we're going to talk about Drake and find out what's going on with this woman that said that she was pregnant by Drake.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Also, Caitlyn Jenner. Now, she says that she has not been on a date in two years, but she also said she had that surgery. Oh, boy. We'll get into all that when we come back. Keep it locked. This is The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Breakfast Club. Back to the work week. Charlamagne's out of town. He's out there peddling them books, pushing them books. So we'll hold it down. He'll be back tomorrow. Let's get to the work week. Charlamagne's out of town. He's out there peddling them books, pushing them books. So we'll hold it down. He'll be back tomorrow. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Caitlyn Jenner.
Starting point is 00:17:51 It's about time. What's going on? Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is the Rumor Report. Talk to them. With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. Well, Caitlyn Jenner sat down with Diane Sawyer for 2020 and talked about a lot of different things.
Starting point is 00:18:06 You know, she has her memoirs coming out, which, by the way, has Kris Jenner upset. She said everything in there is a lie and everything is made up. But anyway, she talks about how she hasn't been on a date in two years, saying that she's never been approached. And she does admit, and this is in her memoir, that she did have the surgery. Here's what Caitlyn Jenner told Diane Sawyer. I wasn't less of a woman the day before I had the surgery than I was the day after I had the surgery, because that did not define who I am as a human being. This book is about honesty, but that doesn't mean in the future that I have to talk about it, that I'm going to dwell. The media may, but I am not going to dwell on that subject.
Starting point is 00:18:47 You know, and I would make a suggestion to all people out there. Don't ask the question. It's not an appropriate question to ask. So Caitlyn cut the pee pee off. Yes. So there's no going back now. No, I can't go back. That's it.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Because I know for a little while they were saying Caitlyn was talking about going back, and, you know, but now, I guess, no more penis, so there you go. His ex-wife might have to feel a way. Like, if she was with him for so long, and then all of a sudden you just cut it off and don't want to, like, I would feel a way. Oh, she's also not dating anybody. It was fake, you know? She's also not dating anybody at all anymore now, so.
Starting point is 00:19:23 Okay. Who knows? Find somebody to love. All right, now, Drake. There were these rumors last week that he got this woman pregnant. Layla Lace is her name. And she actually did an interview over at Sirius. Here's what happened in her interview where she said about Drake getting her knocked up. Let me tell you something.
Starting point is 00:19:39 And I'm going to just make this clear. I have a child. I'm a mother already. I know who I sleep with unprotected, period. It's 100% sure. He knows it. So at the end of the day, he pretty much was just like, oh, what's wrong? And then I told him and he pretty much was like, I'm gonna call you back.
Starting point is 00:20:02 And the phone calls just stopped. Everything stopped. All right. Now, according to Drake's side of things, Drake has not even commented on this. And the reason is that the claim is so ridiculous, he hasn't even tried to put his team on her or nothing. Now, she also deleted all of these allegations off of her social media.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Some people are saying it's because she was threatened with a lawsuit, but other people are saying it's not true. He's never met her, and his team never reached out to her. She just did the whole thing for attention. It just seems funny to me when you reported it last week. Like Drake, that's not his type. He likes Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Bernice Burgos. Like she doesn't fit in that category. No way, no how, nowhere. Nope. I don't know if that's the reason,
Starting point is 00:20:45 but he hasn't commented on it and so it just seems like... That doesn't seem like his type. The whole story seemed crazy. I wonder if you can sue for defamation. He could, but I'm sure she doesn't
Starting point is 00:20:54 have no money. Like, what are you going to get? Just a point, right? Just to make a statement. Exactly. Just to make somebody look crazy. All right, now Mel B. All this drama with Mel B
Starting point is 00:21:02 and Stephen Belafonte's divorce, I've never seen anything so crazy now. She had accused him of forcing her to have threesomes with the nanny and recording them. And she was devastated that he was going to put out these sex tapes of her and embarrass her and ruin her career, which he was threatening to do. Well, according to the nanny, none of that is true. Now, the nanny is now responding back and saying that she actually was having sex with Mel B more than she was having threesomes with them and that she would have sex with Mel B
Starting point is 00:21:30 several times a week and they had a very sexual and loving relationship she even included pictures and emails back and forth between the two of them she said that she met both of them in a bar together and they hired her and that's how it all
Starting point is 00:21:45 went down. So, I don't know what's going on, but now the nanny is suing because she's saying that she's embarrassed. A lot of these things have come forward that were very personal about her and the abortion that she had that, according to Mel B, was from her husband, Stephen Belafonte, but the nanny saying the abortion was from a guy she met
Starting point is 00:22:01 in a one-night stand. That whole situation sounds like a mess, like a complete mess. Who do you believe? I think they all have a little bit of wrongness to them. But one thing I can understand is I have never seen a nanny look like that. Like her nanny, Tiger Woods' nanny, they look decent. All other nannies I've seen never look like that. Well, shout out to your nanny, Envy, if that's what you're trying to say.
Starting point is 00:22:24 No, my nanny don't look like that, but I would indulge in that anyway. Right, and when they hired her, she was only 18 years old, so I guess they hired her because she was attractive, young, and they, I don't know. I don't know what the real situation is here, but everybody's a lot of he said, she said, but we do know
Starting point is 00:22:40 that Mel B's ex-husband feels like Mel B had all kinds of signs that Stephen Belafonte was crazy. And he feels like his name is Jimmy Golzar. They have a child together, and that's her ex-husband. He feels like she should have been did something about this. Here's what he had to say. I always knew that my child was in danger, and it has been denied. I told from child services to judges, lawyers,
Starting point is 00:23:08 and they all said that I was like the angry ex, as they call it. I even called Eddie Murphy because at the end of the day, his child was there in the house as well. No reaction. Nobody reacted. Right, so he said he knew something was wrong. He even said that he knew that Stephen Belafonte had all these guns in the house. About seven years ago, I reported this gun. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:23:31 Melanie knew about it. Her mother knew about it. Sister knew about it. Bless her dad. Even her dad knew about it. We all knew about it. We all told her about it, and she denied it. All right.
Starting point is 00:23:45 All right, well, we'll see how all of this unfolds. I'm Angela Yee, and that's your Rumor Reports. Let's get in some front-page news. NBA playoffs, the Cavs, they swept the Indiana Pacers, beating them 106-102. The Rockets beat OKC 113-109. Houston leads the Series 3-1. The Boston Celtics beat the Bulls. They tied the Series 3-1. The Boston Celtics beat the Bulls. They tied the series 2-2.
Starting point is 00:24:06 And the Utah Jazz beat the Clippers 1-0-5-98 to tie the series 2-2. Who do you think is going to win? I think the Cavs, the Cleveland Cavaliers. That's what I think. Okay. And we got to send a rest in peace to Greg. He was the founder of the EBC, which is a tournament that they did at the Recco Park. He died at the age of 59.
Starting point is 00:24:28 He kept a lot of kids off the streets, man. He created that tournament. A lot of kids were able to play basketball. They were able to be seen. Everybody knows about the Recco. That's the infamous. A lot of great ball players go there. A lot of artists. A lot of celebrities. Who's still? We even had a team. The Breakfast Club had a team a couple years ago
Starting point is 00:24:44 at the Recco Park. We sure did. team. The Breakfast Club had a team a couple years ago at the Rucker Park. We sure did. Yeah, we did. So rest in peace to Greg and condolences again to his family and everybody out there. All right. Now let's talk about American Airlines. Yes, American Airlines has had an issue just recently. Now, a video has been posted on Facebook,
Starting point is 00:25:02 and it shows the moments after an employee hit a woman with a stroller, allegedly, according to people that were there, and almost hit the baby the woman was holding in her arms. She was trying to put the stroller up. It wouldn't fit and that's when the employee came and grabbed it from her, hit her with it, and almost hit the baby. And actually, one of the passengers on the plane stood up
Starting point is 00:25:20 for the woman. Here's what happened. Hey, bud. You do that to me and I'll knock you flat. You say, Allison. Here's what happened. Hey, bud. You do that to me and I'll knock you flat. You say, Allison. Come on, Tony. I wanted you to cry. Hit me. Get down.
Starting point is 00:25:34 You try that with him. I'll knock you out. You don't know what the story is. I don't care what the story is. I almost heard a baby. Now, American Airlines has since apologized for the incident. They actually put the family on a first-class flight back. It was an international trip that they were on. Yeah, that's foul.
Starting point is 00:25:52 I mean, she was allegedly trying to put the stroller in the bin. He pulled it off. The guy, I commend him for standing up for a lady that he didn't know. And sometimes, you know, people are going to have to start getting effed up for their actions. Like, you just can't disrespect people, hit people, almost hit their children, and everything's okay. Like, this is not right. And I'm so glad that somebody stood up for this woman. Yes, American Airlines also put out a statement.
Starting point is 00:26:15 They said they have launched an investigation into the incident. They said the actions of our team member captured here do not appear to reflect patience or empathy to values necessary for customer care. In short, we are disappointed by these actions. And the American team member has been removed from duty while we immediately investigate this incident. Right. All right. Now let's talk about CNN. All right. Well, it's not about CNN. It's really about Fox News. And Allison Camerota works at CNN now, but she says that when she was at Fox News and she was there for 16 years, she said the CEO, Roger Ailes, actually sexually harassed her. Here's what she said.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Roger Ailes did sexually harass me when I was first starting out at Fox and I was single. And I remember Roger being in Roger's office and I was saying that I wanted more opportunity. And he said, well, I would have to work with you really closely and it may require us getting to know each other better and that might have to happen away from here and it might have to happen at a hotel do you know what I'm saying well yeah so that happened and there are a lot of women now that are coming forward they're saying now that Roger A the CEO, and Bill O'Reilly have been ousted. Some people are saying they feel like the Murdoch family does want to know what was wrong there and what the culture was like. So it just takes a few people to come forward.
Starting point is 00:27:34 And it's a scary thing to do. I always say people always want to know why didn't these people come forward right away when it happened. But women are concerned. They're concerned about will I ever be able to get a job here? Will anybody believe me? Will I be blackballed from this industry that I've worked so hard to be in? But women are concerned. They're concerned about, will I ever be able to get a job here? Will anybody believe me? Will I be blackballed from this industry that I've worked so hard to be in? So some people will just avoid a situation, turn a blind eye to it, just keep it pushing.
Starting point is 00:27:55 And it's a difficult thing to do. It just seems crazy that people are still sexually harassing people, especially in today's time. I mean, it just seems unthinkable. Now, let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051. That was front page news. Question, have you been sexually harassed in the workplace? And if you have, what did you do?
Starting point is 00:28:15 Now, Angela, yeah, I know you were sexually harassed, correct? Oh, yeah, I definitely had a situation. Not at iHeart. No, no, not here. It was a long time ago, but I'll explain what happened and why I reacted the way I did. Sometimes I think it's hard for men. Men get sexually harassed, too, but I think explain what happened and why I reacted the way I did. Sometimes I think it's hard for men. Men get sexually harassed too, but I think not to the degree
Starting point is 00:28:27 as women do. That's why it's hard for you to understand because you never really had to deal with it. The lady from the sales department grabbed my ass. Was that sexually harassed? Yes. So I can go to human resources? Alright. But she gives me a lot of money though, so. Okay, go ahead, Envy.
Starting point is 00:28:44 I'm just joking all right 805-855-1051 have you ever been sexually harassed and if you have what have you done call us now it's the breakfast club good morning his boat morning everybody is dj envy angela yee shalami and the god we are the breakfast club taking your calls 800-585-1051 asking if you ever been sexually harassed in your workplace and if you you have, what have you done now? I had a small situation. I was at the first time I got to I heart. We were at the Christmas party and somebody grabbed my ass.
Starting point is 00:29:14 Okay. Now that's definitely sexual harassment, by the way. But I guess for men, I guess I didn't take it that way. I just laughed it off and was like, she's drunk and kept moving. No. So now you've been sexually harassed for real, for real. Well, I guess that was for real, for real too, but you've been sexually harassed, right? Well, I had an incident where I had a job and my boss actually was like, hey, let's have a meeting.
Starting point is 00:29:32 And I went in his office to sit down and have a meeting with him. And he said, I think you should sleep with me. What? He said that clear? He said it just like that. And he said, you know, you can come into work and I'll make sure everything is good. I'll take you out to nice dinners and everything, but I think you should sleep with me. And so this was, mind you, probably my second job out of college.
Starting point is 00:29:50 How did you respond? Well, I obviously didn't work there anymore two days later because I said I wouldn't do that if you were the last person on earth. And I got fired. Wow. What job was this, would you like to say? Two days later. It was at a record label. But I will say this. I could have definitely
Starting point is 00:30:05 went the route of suing and I would have been in the right, but it would have been my word against his. I was really young in the business and I felt like
Starting point is 00:30:13 if I did something like that, it could have tarnished me forever. It could have been a situation where people didn't believe me because it was just him saying something. He didn't ever put his hands on me or anything.
Starting point is 00:30:21 So I just felt like, you know what, let me just get out of here and get another job. But anyway, you look back and you feel bad because who knows who else he might have done that to after, you know? He probably did that to a lot of people. And if he was that confident just to say that to you, it's probably worked several times. Let me ask you a question, right?
Starting point is 00:30:36 These are the reasons why you have a brother and a father. Why didn't you tell your brother and father to go up there and F his ass up? I didn't say what happened after that. Oh, okay. Okay. I didn't say what happened after that. Oh. Okay. Okay, Yee. I didn't say what happened. Is the guy still living?
Starting point is 00:30:50 Actually, he's not, but that's not because of me. Don't answer that. Don't answer that. Okay. Wow, Yee. It's not because of me. That's not because of me,
Starting point is 00:30:58 but yes, it definitely got taken care of. Don't clean it up now. He ended up having to have security every single day at work after that and actually hired the person to be security who was somebody that I knew, which was silly. Wow. He killed somebody. All right.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Well, let's go to the phone lines. Hello. Who's this? Good morning. Good morning. I really don't want to say my name, but my situation was that I was being, I worked for a big corporation, so I was being harassed by another male. And he happened to be a gay male.
Starting point is 00:31:26 And I was very afraid to report him. And I will say his first name. His name was Albert. And the reason why is because he was in a high rank. Okay. So, I mean, I thought that my job was in danger in a way, and he really used to use strong words on me. Like what words? I'm not against.
Starting point is 00:31:44 Well, come on. I mean, let's go out. You want to go have a drink? Doesn't have strong words on me. Like what words? I'm not against. Well, come on. I mean, let's go out. You want to go have a drink? You want to hang out with me tonight? You sure? You sure? You sure he just didn't want to go out with you and have a drink with you?
Starting point is 00:31:55 He knows. He wasn't flirting with you? My buddy, I know when a man is coming on to me. For example, like Charlamagne, we know that he is strong when he comes up to other men. But he's hiding it inside. You know what I'm saying? Me?
Starting point is 00:32:08 Wait, what just happened? I don't know. Go ahead. How did Charlamagne get in this? Well, I'm just saying, though, he is like when Charlamagne, when someone hits Charlamagne like another man talks to him, he likes it. But in a way, he pushes them away. I don't like it, period. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:26 You see what I'm saying? So how did you resolve the situation? Well, to be honest, I left the company, not because of him, but I got a better offer somewhere else. All right. Wow. All right, well, let's go to the next caller. Hey, what's your name? It's Melanie.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Hey, Melanie. Have you ever been sexually harassed in the workplace? I have. My first job out of college, my boss was this really good-looking black man. And at some point, he had asked me to have a threesome with him and his girlfriend. And I learned a really long time ago from my mother that if ever a guy asks you a thing like that, and he's a boss or someone a lot older, you just say, you know, you remind me a lot of my dad or my uncle or a grandpa and they get so turned off.
Starting point is 00:33:07 They stop looking at you like that and they just go away. And it's a totally normal relationship after that. Okay. Did it work? Yes, of course. It was great after that. We were good friends. We could joke and laugh and he never looked at me that way again.
Starting point is 00:33:21 That's a pretty interesting way to handle it. Okay. Thank you, mama. All right. Well, 800-585-1051. Have you ever been sexually harassed in the workplace? Call us up right now, and if you have, what have you done?
Starting point is 00:33:32 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us, we're taking your calls asking if you've ever been sexually harassed in the workplace. Now, Angela Yee, you have. Now, tell the people what happened with you, Yee. Yes, the workplace. Now, Angela Yee have. Now, tell the people what happened with you, Yee.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Yes, I have. Now, I was saying I had a job where my boss actually told me that I should sleep with him. And I told him I wouldn't do it if he was the last person on earth. I ended up getting fired. But I never reported him or did anything. But I did tell people that I knew, you know, that were close to me what happened. So that was, I didn't feel like I could tell everybody about that because I felt like if I tried to bring charges,
Starting point is 00:34:09 I might have gotten blackballed from the business and I was really young. Well, you know, I would tell females and males out there, if that happens to you, next time you go into the office, tape it. So you have some kind of proof, some kind of evidence. So that way, if it does happen again, you can sue, you can get that person fired, or you could possibly make some money. Let's go to the phone lines. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:34:28 Hi, good morning. Good morning. How are you? I'm good. This is Chris. I was calling in regards to the sexual harassment cases or whatever, but I work for a facility. It has 14 males, basically, and I'm the only female. I can't say particularly too much because it was sort of a still pending case and there's still a lot of retaliation going on. But I had my supervisor was watching me change in my locker room.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Whoa. And I mean, they took care of it once I reported it. But the hardest part of dealing with it was the director, which is above my supervisor. Him and my supervisor were best friends outside of work. They started working in the facility together. And when I reported the case to him, he had to take the proper procedures to contact HR. But HR also were friends with them when the company first started. So I felt like, you know, such an, like, against the wall,
Starting point is 00:35:29 and I didn't want to just leave right away. Me and my husband were in a situation where trying to get a house, you know, you have to have job stability, and a lot of people think it's that easy to leave. And I didn't leave, but they did the right thing because we had new management. And they ended up firing him within a week and a half, but the retaliation after was crazy.
Starting point is 00:35:47 I mean, every little thing, they were making a hostile work environment. I contacted EEOC, and they told me I really can't do much because a lot of it is unrecorded. So I would have to wait until I got fired to really have a case against them. Oh my gosh, that's crazy. Wow. Well, I'm so... I'm sorry for you. So from your experience, what advice would you give to other people going through something similar?
Starting point is 00:36:07 Record everything that you can. Take pictures. If you know anyone that you can get on your side, have, you know, like a good witness. But, you know, you don't have to take it. But at the same time, try to find out the environment of a job before you get hired. Before, you know, the same way they ask you for references, you get references from other employees. Okay. Right. Alright, well, I'm sorry you're going through it.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Good luck to you. Hello, who's this? This is Tanika from Columbus. Hey, Tanika. Now, have you ever been in a situation where you've been sexually harassed? Yes, I have at work. See, Envy, I told you it's a common thing. I see. I was at work, and me and this guy, we worked at an Alzheimer's unit,
Starting point is 00:36:48 and we were in a locked unit, so it was just me, him, and another older lady. And he just kept making comments about how beautiful I was and how he wanted to marry somebody who looked like me, somebody who had a butt like mine. And he just kept making these comments. And I was so uncomfortable. And so I was like, well, I'm getting ready to leave. So I called my boyfriend. Well, we're married now, but he was my boyfriend at the time.
Starting point is 00:37:12 I called him and told him to come pick me up. And so on his way to come pick me up, the guy was like, no, I'm leaving first. But he just kept making comments. And so the next day when I went to work, I reported it and I was fired. Wow. I was fired. And they tried to work, I reported it and I was fired. Wow. I was fired and they tried to make it seem like it was all my fault. And he told them, he was talking about taking pictures at
Starting point is 00:37:34 a company picnic. But I'd never even been to the company picnic. And so I actually ended up suing them. I went to the Civil Rights Commission and I sued them and I won. Oh, good for you. See? Now that's a great story of somebody standing up for what they know
Starting point is 00:37:49 is right and actually coming out on top. Did that guy ever get fired? Listen, God don't like ugly. He got fired. The administrator got fired. The nurse who was in charge of the facility I worked at got fired. All of them jokers got fired. That's good.
Starting point is 00:38:08 It's still a traumatizing experience, though, I tell you, when you have to go through it. Oh, yeah. Even though you come out on top, it still sucks. Wow. It was absolutely traumatizing, and it made me look at people differently. It made me look at the way I interact with men differently, not be as friendly, you know, initially, so I know what your motives are. What your intentions are, correct. It was really, really bad. But I just want to say my husband and I, Fred,
Starting point is 00:38:32 we both listen to you guys every morning, and we really enjoy your show. Thank you so much. All right, we appreciate you. Shout out to you and Fred. All right, thank you, Mama. Well, we got rumors on the way. Yes, we'll talk about Oprah.
Starting point is 00:38:42 She had to clap back at somebody. I don't know if you guys watched the Henrietta Lacks movie on HBO over the weekend, but it has to do with that. Also, Kodak Black in court. We'll tell you what's going on with Kodak. All right, we'll get into all that when we come back. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Listen up. It's just in. All the gossip. Gossip. The Rumor Report. Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's The rumor report.
Starting point is 00:39:05 The Breakfast Club. Well, there is new footage of Kodak Black in court. And in a news clip, they're talking about what's going on because he's in trouble for actually violating his probation. He was supposed to be on house arrest. And instead, he was in the strip club. And there's a woman who claims that he attacked her in the club. Now, here is what is happening according to this news report. Now while on the stand, Black tried to take the fifth when
Starting point is 00:39:32 he was asked if he was at that strip joint without his probation officer's permission, but the judge made him answer that question and he said that he was there. The rising rapper's anger management counselor then took to the stand and said after burping during group sessions, she asked him to leave because it was disruptive, and when he wouldn't, she said she called 911 and he grabbed her arm. He eventually was kicked out of that court-mandatory class. All right. Now, the woman, Jennifer Cunningham, is a bartender at Club Lex, and she's
Starting point is 00:40:06 the one that is saying that he attacked her. Well, there is another bartender who is now coming forward, another employee who works at the strip club, and says that this actually did not happen. Here is the next news report. The biggest bombshell that we saw here today was when the defense brought in another bartender from that strip joint that disputed Jennifer Cunningham's claim that Kodak Black had attacked her. In fact, she said it was the bartender that got up into his face. What did he do? He kind of leaned back. Did he thrust his leg at all towards her?
Starting point is 00:40:41 No, I didn't see it. All right, so we'll see what happens with Kodak Black, but prosecutors are trying to give him eight years in jail, so the hearing is going to continue on Wednesday for everybody who is following this story. He really needs a mentor. I mean, some of the things that he's
Starting point is 00:40:58 doing doesn't make any sense. I mean, the guy is filthy rich. He's very successful right now. Well, okay, filthy rich. He's doing well, but I wouldn't say filthy rich. He's very successful right now. Well, okay, filthy rich. He's doing well, but I wouldn't say filthy rich. But he's more money than he's ever made in his life. He shouldn't be going to Adrian Broner fights without telling his probation officer or strip clubs because it's social media. Somebody will take a picture of it.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Somebody will have it on their Twitter. It's always a problem. All you got to do is just let your probation officer, just let them know. And they might tell you no, and then you just can't go. Right. Have a party at your house. All right, now Oprah has had to respond to criticism that she is exploiting Henrietta Lacks. Now, I don't know if anybody saw The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks on HBO over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:41:37 I was traveling. I was in St. Thomas. I'm going to go watch it tonight, actually. And now the family is upset. Now her son, Lawrence, is saying that she's exploiting his mother's life. Now, Oprah has responded.
Starting point is 00:41:50 According to page six, she said, do I think the Lacks family should have been paid for all of those cells by all of the millions of drug companies in the world who have used those cells? Of course they should have.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Do I think it's now my responsibility or HBO to compensate for that? No, it was our job to bring the story to light and it is a shame they were never compensated but I will tell you this, Debra, who was Henrietta Lack's
Starting point is 00:42:10 youngest daughter, to her dying day never cared about the money. She just cared about her mother and her story being told. What do you think? Did Oprah have to give some money up to the family?
Starting point is 00:42:20 No, Oprah doesn't have to give anything up. Because legally, you really don't have to and it is a shame that they never got what they were supposed to get. But it is important to put that story out there. That's an important story to be told.
Starting point is 00:42:30 So make sure, you guys, if you haven't seen that, you check that out. Actually, if you did see it, make sure you hit me up on Twitter. I want to hear about it because I'm going to watch it tonight. But don't give away. Well, I guess we know the story already, so it doesn't matter. Yeah, pretty much. All right, Lil Wayne. A lot of people have been talking about, is he signed to The Rock?
Starting point is 00:42:45 Is it Rock Nation for Lil Wayne? Well, he was on with Skip Bayless. And here's what he had to say about Jay-Z and his situation at Rock Nation. Jay's just a good guy, man. Just a good guy. It was nothing but a simple thing. Just a friend to friend. I just want to help you.
Starting point is 00:43:01 That's all it was. I just want to help you, man, in any way I can. And right now, he's just going to help me. He's just going to. I just want to help you, man, in any way I can. And right now, he's just going to help me, you know. He's just going to help me any way he can. And that's just what it is. So are you able to get completely out from under your old complications? No, we haven't done that yet.
Starting point is 00:43:15 So we're still working on that. That's a situation. But like I said, Jay's just a good guy. He just wants to help me. And so he's going to be helping me. I wish he took that deal 15 years ago when Jay-Z offered him that deal. I know. I wish he could go back in time. And he almost did it. He actually, a long time ago, I had
Starting point is 00:43:31 a show that was on Sundays. He came on the show. The only time I ever talked to Lil Wayne. And he was going to do it. Their whole thing is he was going to sign with The Rock. He came to New York to do it. And I wish they would have did that deal. I think it would have been great for hip-hop. Lil Wayne wishes they would have did that deal. Yeah. right.
Starting point is 00:43:46 All right. And speaking of helping people out, Derek Fisher is saying that he's going to call Carmelo Anthony and help him with his separation with Lala. Now, Derek Fisher did coach Carmelo on the Knicks a few years ago, and he said that he wants to help, and he feels that Carmelo should be focused on family and not basketball right now.
Starting point is 00:44:07 I don't know if Derek Fisher is the one you want to have reach out to you. Are you dumb? Well, there is no, Nick's not in the playoffs, so there is no basketball he's concentrating on right now. The only thing that is on his mind, I'm sure, is his family. And Derek Fisher, I don't know if I want advice from you, bro. I'm sorry. He's had his own issues. Yeah, absolutely. But I guess he knows, I guess from his own past experiences, not to be distracted and to keep what's important
Starting point is 00:44:30 in the forefront, right? Right. Maybe. All right, I'm Angela Yee and that's your Rumor Report. All right. I was born a donkey. It's the donkey of the day.
Starting point is 00:44:42 It's the donkey of the day. It's the donkey of the day. It's time for the donkey of the day. That's pretty funny. Charlamagne the devil? The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? This is Latoya. Hey, Latoya, who you want to give donkey of the day to? I want to give donkey of the day to my son's father.
Starting point is 00:45:06 I'm sorry, I'm walking into work. Uh-oh. Go ahead. I want to give him donkey of the day because I gave him money to fix his car, and he still doesn't take out time with my son. Like, what the hell is wrong with him? Oh, you thought if you gave him money, he was going to come and still take care of his responsibilities. Well, he said his car was broke, so he needed money to get his car fixed. So I helped him get his car fixed, and he still don't do what he's supposed to do.
Starting point is 00:45:26 So you thought he was going to get in that car and come see his son, and he's still not doing that. Yeah, or at least get him from school or something. Damn. Damn. That's a shame. All right. Sorry, Mama. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:45:38 Hey, this is Norrie from Palm Beach, Florida. Norrie, who you want to give donkey today to? I want to give donkey today to Uncle Charlem. I tuned in this morning to listen to him, and he's not here. He knows damn well he's not doing nothing important. He's promoting his book. He's on the road. He's not selling his books, bro. It's important.
Starting point is 00:45:56 Oh. He'll be back tomorrow. Did you go buy his book? Will do. We'll pick that up then. See, you didn't even buy his book. Donkey's not buying his book, man. Goodbye. We'll pick that up then. See, you didn't even buy his book. You're not buying his book, man. Goodbye. Hello, who's this? Andrew Ford, Columbus, Ohio. Hey, who you want to give Dunkin' today to?
Starting point is 00:46:12 I want to give a Dunkin' today to comedian Gary Owen. And first of all, I love y'all's show, man. I love y'all's show. The reason I want to give him a Dunkin' today, because back in the day, when he first got started, nobody would give him an opportunity to work. And I gave him an opportunity to work one of the country's premier black comedy clubs.
Starting point is 00:46:32 And he recently came to Columbus, Ohio, trying to assassinate my character from the stage of another comedy club. What did he say? And he was just saying how he worked my club and I didn't pay him. It'd be one thing if it was true, but it's an outright lie. So I just want to give him a dunk of the day because I just hate fake people. And I know y'all
Starting point is 00:46:55 hate fake people too. And Charlamagne Tha God, I know he hates fake people. So wait, wait, wait. Are you sure you paid him? Yes, I'm sure I paid him, baby. I'm sure I paid him. Well. I'm sure I paid him. Well, that's that, baby. My comedy club was open. My comedy club was open for six years.
Starting point is 00:47:11 How is it open for six years and I'm not paying the comedian? That's crazy. Is it open now? I'm going to come to town and try to assassinate my character. You know, I need to borrow a word from baby. He need to put some respect on my name. Well, I'm sorry, sir. Hopefully your club is still open and that you're still making some money out there, man.
Starting point is 00:47:30 Dog here today, 800-585-1051. Once again, Charlamagne is out, so he opened up the phone lines and allowed you to do it. When we come back, we are talking about maintenance. Me and Envy were having an argument behind the scenes. I was saying I have to go get my laser hair removal again today. Shout out to Romeo and Juliet. And it's so difficult for women. But Envy's trying to tell me, for men, your maintenance is difficult too.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Yes, it is. We got some difficult maintenance. We'll talk about it when we come back. 800-585-1051 is The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Now, you and I were just talking behind the Tha God, we are The Breakfast Club. Now, you and I were just talking behind the scenes. Yes, we were talking about maintenance, and Envy tried to tell me that men have more maintenance than women do. Now, I don't doubt that Envy has a lot of maintenance for himself. You were talking about getting a haircut. You guys get haircuts once, sometimes even twice a week. You also have to manscape, and you said men have a harder time having to actually go to the gym and stay in shape than women do,
Starting point is 00:48:24 but women have to do that, too. Right. We have haircuts. And when we go get our hair done, we spend all day getting it done. We can spend all day, too. If you have to go to the barbershop, that might take some time. That's just because y'all are in there chatting. And if you're a Latino, you got to make sure your eyebrows are good.
Starting point is 00:48:41 That's just the thing that you have to do. So you get your eyebrows done? Every once in a while. Do you shave your chest hair? I don't have chest hair. But some men have back hair. Some men have shoulder hair. Some men have chest hair that they got to take care of, which is big.
Starting point is 00:48:54 Do you shave under your arms? Yes. You have to shave under your arms so you don't have a big bush. You also got to shave down below so you don't have a big bush. And you have to exercise. Men have to look good for their women. So we have the same amount of manscaping and maintenance that you guys have. Right, and I feel like women actually, we have a lot more pressure as far as looking good.
Starting point is 00:49:14 You see women going out, they actually are having, women have surgery a lot more than men do, so that's a lot of pressure on women also. But even getting your hair done, that is a full day process, sometimes more than one day, depending on what it is that you're getting done to your hair. Plus, today I'm going to get my laser hair removal. You can never do that. It's a very not so pleasant experience, but it requires me. And if I wasn't doing that, I would have to go get waxes every month. Men don't have to do that.
Starting point is 00:49:39 Well, some men do have to get waxes every month. If they don't have to get waxes, they have to actually shave. I was reading GQ article and they said men do go get waxes. month. If they don't have to get waxes, they have to actually shave. I was reading GQ article. They said men do go get waxes. They make sure their stuff looks crystal clean. Me? No. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:51 That's all I'm saying. Let's talk about you. I don't like anybody. I don't want anybody ripping hair out my ass. You couldn't handle the pain. I probably could not handle the pain. Right. We go through a lot more, man.
Starting point is 00:50:01 I was in a spa the other day. Look, we get facials. You get facials? Yes. All right. We have to get facials. You get facials? Yes. All right, we have to get facials. There's a lot of things. We have to get our nails done all the time. Men don't have to do that.
Starting point is 00:50:10 And when I get my nails done every couple of weeks, I spend two hours in the nail salon just doing that. And everybody out there, I just want to tell you a little fun fact. You should do that with your girl or your wife. Like, you have your wife or your girl shave you, your parts down below. That's sexy. They do this for me.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Yes, take care of you. Use the razor, blah, blah, blah. Make sure you're nice and good. What if she cuts you? Well, I mean. No guy has ever asked me to shave him, but you know. They don't love you, then, ye. Let's go to the phone lines.
Starting point is 00:50:36 800-585-1051. Hello, who's this? Tiny. Hey, Tiny. Now, we were talking about maintenance as far as men and women. Who has more maintenance? Tell them, Tiny. Now, we were talking about maintenance as far as men and women. Who has more maintenance? Tell them, Tiny. I think women have more maintenance because you got to think about it.
Starting point is 00:50:50 We get our nails done, eyebrows done, hair done. And now we got this new trend where we get an eyelash extension. Those are like $150. I get those. So you got to think about it. We put a lot into our looks and how we carry ourselves because, of course, we want to be a reflection of our men. And, you know, when we step out with our girls,
Starting point is 00:51:09 we want to be the baddest thing out. Okay. See, as I was saying, women have a lot more we go through. But the guys want to be the baddest thing out when they're with their lady. They want to look strong. The baddest thing out. Envy, shut up. Stop that.
Starting point is 00:51:20 You can't be the baddest thing out. Shut up. When I'm out with my wife, I'm the baddest thing out there. How about that? So you're badder than Gia? No, she makes me look better and I make her look better. I don't want to be a big sloppy dude. You're not the baddest thing out.
Starting point is 00:51:32 I mean, now stop it. Hello. Hello, who's this? This is No Pressure. No Pressure. You want to be the baddest thing out? We're talking about maintenance, man. You maintain yourself, bro.
Starting point is 00:51:45 That even sounds funny coming from me, but go ahead. Yeah, you know I maintain myself. I got to keep a good look. So what is it? You think men or women have more maintenance every month? Oh, yeah, definitely women got more maintenance. Thank you. What do you do every month?
Starting point is 00:51:56 Let me tell you. How do you maintain yourself? Oh, I got to keep a fresh cut. You know that. Everything got to be A1. See? All he does is get a cut every month. That's all he does is get a cut.
Starting point is 00:52:06 My goodness. You haven't been with your girl too long, huh? He's living life, man. 800-585-105. Well, we're talking about maintaining ourselves. Ye said women got to do more maintaining than men. And I'm like, it's almost the same. We got to maintain ourselves.
Starting point is 00:52:20 Oh, so now it's almost the same. Before, you had more. Now it's almost the same. We want to look the baddest thing out there too, fellas, right? That just sounds crazy. But 800-585-1051 is The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy,
Starting point is 00:52:34 Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God, we are The Breakfast Club. DJ Envy, a.k.a. The Baddest Thing Out. Shut up. We were talking about maintaining ourselves and maintenance, weekly maintenance, monthly maintenance. And you said she has to go to a laser surgery or whatever it's called. It's not laser surgery.
Starting point is 00:52:50 I'm getting I get laser hair removal. I just started doing this at Romeo and Juliet spa. And it's not a pleasant treatment. But it's nice to know that I won't have to go get a wax every single month once I finish with this. It'll be done. And I was like, man up. Men go through the same thing. We got to maintain ourselves as well.
Starting point is 00:53:07 Right. Like, when we go on vacation, we have to make sure that everything is proper and correct. When you're about to go away on a trip, all you got to do is get a haircut. No, we got to do the same thing. We got to make sure bushing will pop out of our swimming trunks. We got to do the same thing.
Starting point is 00:53:20 You got to bush? No, I ain't got no bush. Shut up. Let's go to the phone lines. Hello, who's this? Hello, this is Julie B. Hey, Julie B. We're talking about maintaining yourself, male.
Starting point is 00:53:30 Who has more maintenance, men or women? Oh, man, yo, you understand. Let me tell you something. First off, I got this lady, okay? She Italian. She made me this lasagna straight out from scratch. And I had to tell her, like, yo, if this lasagna good, I'm going to give you a massage. But I got to be naked.
Starting point is 00:53:43 So I got naked, and she saw the pubic hair, and I designed it so nice, she didn't know what to do with herself. She, if this lasagna's good, I'm gonna give you a massage. But I gotta be naked. So, I got naked, and she saw the pubic hair, and I designed it so nice, she didn't know what to do with herself. She gave me more lasagna, and it was a good night. What does that have to do with maintenance? I don't know. Maintenance? Oh, the maintenance for the pubic hair, G. You gotta understand, this guy, I got balls smooth as eggs. So, you trimmed it. That's what you wanted to say.
Starting point is 00:54:01 You trimmed up. You make sure you get money. Of course. You understand? First off, ladies don't want to see a bush that look like a bush. That look like a well, good bush. A good-ass bush that's been trimmed. Well, sir, besides manscaping, what else do you do to yourself every month? Man, I shave my face. If I ain't got to go to a barber shop, that's on my hairline because it's pushing the back.
Starting point is 00:54:22 I already got a chin to me like a big-ass forehead like Tory Lanez's i just don't want to get it all the way pushed back so i do it myself sometimes see he kind of maintained himself i ain't mad at you bro you want to be the baddest thing out there right to your girl hello who's this yo peace hello peace bro what are you talking about oh your name is p i thought you said peace oh yeah i said peace my name is not peace my name is mr father who's this oh what's up bro he said what's up, bro? He said, who's this? This is Charlemagne Tha God. Oh, it sounds like Charlemagne Tha God. And it sounds like Aunt Julie.
Starting point is 00:54:49 Peace. Good morning to both of y'all, man. What? Good morning. I don't know. You talk about maintaining yourself, bro. Do you maintain yourself? Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Definitely, indeed. What is it that you have to do? What's your ritual every month? Every month as far as body grooming? Yes. Every month a man has definitely got to keep himself up. I would say a woman has to do? What's your ritual every month? Every month as far as body grooming? Yes. Every month a man's definitely got to keep himself up. I would say a woman has to do more so. But a man's definitely
Starting point is 00:55:09 got to keep himself up. Every month you groom yourself, you look at your hair, you make sure you're looking right. You want to look right for your lady. Absolutely, right? Definitely. But you definitely want to present yourself for the world. You don't want to look like a heathen to the world. You want to look like you got yourself together, you know? I say the same thing. Thank you, bro. See,
Starting point is 00:55:26 men got to maintain themselves just as much as women do. No, I think pretty much everybody agrees that women have a lot more that we actually have to do than men. Imagine if you had to get a weave. You know how long that takes? I ain't getting no weave. Yeah, you right. I ain't getting no weave. Nah, I ain't getting no weave. Alright. Well, what's the moral of the story? The moral of the story
Starting point is 00:55:42 is you gotta respect all that us women have to go through just to look like we didn't go through nothing. Alright, we got rumors on the way? Yes, let's talk about Kendrick Lamar. You know he doesn't do a lot of interviews. Well, let's talk about his interview with Zane Lowe. We'll tell you what he had to say about
Starting point is 00:55:58 his new album, Damn. Alright, and he's in New York in the next couple of weeks, so he better come up here. He better come up to the Breakfast Club. Or else what? Nothing. Nothing. Absolutely positively nothing. to the Breakfast Club. Or else what? Nothing. Nothing. Absolutely, positively nothing. Shout out to TD. I just wanted to say, he better come to the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:56:09 We support him. All right, we got rumors on the way. When we come back, keep it locked. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. That was Bounce Back. Big Sean. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:56:21 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Now, shout to Samsung. Samsung dropped me off a phone Friday, and I've been enjoying it all weekend. The phone is absolutely positively dope. It's the Galaxy S8. I mean, it's an amazing phone. I didn't know they have a bigger version.
Starting point is 00:56:40 I don't know what they call it, but there's a larger version to it as well. You can do so many different features. It is cool. I can actually take a picture of you and me at the same time. Even though you're in Charlotte and I'm in New York? If we were in the same room. Oh, okay. You know what?
Starting point is 00:56:55 Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Kendrick Lamar. This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee. On The Breakfast Club. So listen up. with Angela Yee on Breakfast Club. All right, well, Kendrick Lamar has sat down and done his first interview since putting out his album, Damn. He sat down with Zane Lowe for Beats 1. And some things that we learned from watching this interview.
Starting point is 00:57:19 First of all, he talks about the story on Duckworth, the song Duckworth. A lot of people want to know, is that a true story about his dad meeting Top Dog? Well, not meeting Top Dog, but realizing who Top Dog was. Here's what Kendrick had to say. About a year after I met Top Dog, I remember when I was 16. So my pops came to the studio after I'd been locked in with him for a minute,
Starting point is 00:57:41 and we got a relationship now. My pops personally don't know him as Top Dog. So when he walked in that room and he seen that Top Dog was this guy, they flipped. Still to this day, they laugh and they trip out and they tell the same story over and over to each other. Kendrick also talks about why he considers himself to be the greatest rapper. Here's what he said about having the crown in hip hop. I don't know what era everybody else come from, but I listen, man. And when I heard these artists say they're the best,
Starting point is 00:58:07 I said, I'm not doing it to have a good song. I want to keep doing it every time, period. And to do it every time, you have to challenge yourself and you have to confirm to yourself that you're the best. That's my drive and that's my hunger I will always have. Those before me and the respect I have for them, I want to hold myself high on that same pedestal 10, 15 years from now. And Kendrick also discusses Jay-Z's influence on him.
Starting point is 00:58:34 Here's what he had to say when he sat down with Zane Lowe about Jigga. When I found out he didn't write, it made sense because it never sounded like he wrote. Yeah, I did that too. You know, it all worked for me years down the line when I can go in and just do the craziest verse just off all the emotions and off my own experiences, you know, where I don't feel like I need to actually put the thoughts down on paper, you know.
Starting point is 00:58:56 At first I was doing it because I just wanted to be like Jay-Z, you know. But in the time it became a practice and by the time I got back to writing my rhymes, I knew the full potential in that. I knew the creative process in that and what worked in that. And I also knew how to go in there and just spill out my feelings. Yeah, a lot of rappers talk about this, not wanting to write things down. And I think more rappers need to write things down. Don't follow Jay-Z. Don't follow Big.
Starting point is 00:59:21 It's not for everybody. Right. Yeah, hey, do whatever works for you. That's all. There's no particular way that works or doesn't work. Now, he also revealed that he has a whole lot of unreleased music from these sessions that he did. He said the song with U2 originally had six verses on it.
Starting point is 00:59:38 He said that's why the changes are so crazy. And they asked about rumors for another album coming out right away. And I don't know if that's going to happen. You know, Kendrick said there's things a lot of times people that listen to my music, they're really good, really, really, really good. He said he's mind blown. He's blown away. So I don't know if he's going to put out something new soon. Allegedly, he's not.
Starting point is 00:59:58 But you never know. Remember, he did the unreleased, unmastered. He could do something like that again. Who knows? All right. In the meantime, Kendrick does have a tour coming. He has announced the damn tour with special guests Travis Scott and Drum. By the way, did you see Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner holding hands at Coachella?
Starting point is 01:00:15 I seen her. I seen she's moved on quickly. I mean, maybe they just were holding hands. Who knows? But Kendrick Lamar's tour is going to be starting in Phoenix, Arizona, July 12th. And the Homecoming show ends the whole tour August 6th in L.A. So he's going to be in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Philly, Brooklyn, Washington, all over along the way. All right. I'm Angela Yee. And that is your rumor report.
Starting point is 01:00:38 I'm definitely going to that tour right now. When we come back, we got the People's Choice Mix. If you want to hear something, 800-585-1051. Get your request in and I'll get your songs, all right? Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max.
