Starting point is 00:00:46 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zaka Stan. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-A-S-T-A-N on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best, and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you love to hate. From the east to the west coast. DJ Envy. Angela Yee. Charlamagne Tha God. The realest show on the planet.
Starting point is 00:01:48 This is why I respect this show because this is a voice to society. Changing the game. You guys are the coveted morning show. But y'all earned it. Impacting the culture. They wake up in the morning and they want to hear that breakfast show. The world's most dangerous morning show. We in the mother.

Starting point is 00:02:33 It's definitely Friday. We got a really action-packed show for you today. I know a lot of shows say that, but they can't back it up. All right? No, we can't. This show definitely shacks it up. Sometimes. We have Chloe joining us us Chloe Bailey joining us
Starting point is 00:02:47 this morning Chloe Bailey my cousin oh stop it my son stop it don't hate myself Carolina cuz it's not your cousin that's the stupid thing to say when y'all know she said that but you know that's my cousin yes also also JBove will be joining us too Comedian actor J.B. Smoove That's right, Curb Your Enthusiasm season what, 12 is coming? Leon Black is his character on there I think he joined Curb in season 6
Starting point is 00:03:16 He was Vivica Fox's brother And Vivica Fox's character was dating Larry David On Curb Your Enthusiasm? Yes Oh wow That's how he joined the show. They were living in their house. They had gotten displaced from Hurricane Katrina.
Starting point is 00:03:29 And then Larry David broke up with his wife. And then he started dating Vivica Fox. And then they broke up. But Leon never left. So that's why he's still there. That's the best thing about watching those shows. Because when you go back and you watch the old episodes, you'd be like, oh, that was such and such.
Starting point is 00:03:45 You know, because a lot of times it'd be somebody who done blew up now and you'd be like, you didn't realize that back then. Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of my favorite shows.
Starting point is 00:03:52 It was coming back on, I think, October 24th. But they always have a lot of great guest appearances. So that's what I like about it. I think Vince Vaughn was on the last season. Chaz Boner was on there.
Starting point is 00:04:02 A lot of different people. Word. I feel great. Wanda Sykes used to be on there. I remember when Wanda of different people. Word. I feel great today. Wanda Sykes used to be on there. I remember when Wanda used to be on there. I feel great today. It's TGIF, okay? TGIF means TGHT. So thank God it's Friday
Starting point is 00:04:13 and the God's honest truth. My late night talk show comes on tonight at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central. And Mercury's still in Gatorade. So, you know. Mercury and Gatorade. Retrograde.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Retrograde. So what are we talking about tonight on the show? It's social media. Mercury and retrograde. Retrograde. So what are we talking about tonight on the show? It's social media, the devil. Okay. And we have Tristan Harris. I don't know if you've ever seen that Netflix documentary,
Starting point is 00:04:33 The Social Dilemma. Tristan Harris. He'll be on there. It's social media, the devil. It should be discussed on social media. Oh, no, it's called The Social Dilemma.
Starting point is 00:04:42 That was the name of the documentary on Netflix. Yes, The Social Dilemma. I'm in Phoenix of the documentary on Netflix. Yes, The Social Dilemma. And I'm in Phoenix. And we have Cal Newport on digital minimalism, to Angelique's point, because, you know, they say everything in moderation, right? Yes. There's a reason why social media should be in
Starting point is 00:04:55 moderation. That's why Cal Newport wrote the book Digital Minimalism. He'll be on there tonight as well. We have to unplug a little bit. Alright, well I'm in Phoenix. You know, I'm trying to do my car show out in Phoenix. So I had to come out here and check out a couple of venues. So I came here. And while I was in the airport, I lost my phone. And, you know, without having a phone. I know what was going on with you. It's very difficult. I couldn't call
Starting point is 00:05:18 an Uber. I couldn't check my flight information. I couldn't check account information. But you do have a phone. You just lost one phone. Yeah, but the other phone I don't have anybody's number in. That's kind of just like my backup phone. I didn't have Charlemagne's new number. I only had your number, Guy's number, and my parents' number in that phone. Everybody else's number I didn't have. I'm like family. So I called Guy. Like, Guy,
Starting point is 00:05:38 can you send me everybody's number? I didn't have Charlemagne's new number. I couldn't call an Uber. I was asleep. He hit me at like 11 o'clock at night. I was knocked out. It was all bad. But I did text you night, I was knocked out. It was all bad. But I did text you back this morning. Yeah, you did text me back 18 hours later. You either realize how important your phone is or how too connected we are to our phones.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Like the fact that you lost your phone and your whole world went to shambles, that's not good. My whole world didn't go to shambles. Yeah, that was very dramatic. Like I spoke to my wife, I just couldn't call an Uber. I was just mad I couldn't call an Uber.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Especially being that all of us are old enough to remember a time when we didn't need those things. Lord have mercy. But it was just the Uber thing. Because it's so convenient to call an Uber through your phone. I could not call an Uber. It's actually hard to get a cab. Sometimes you can't even get one. And they tell you, you just need to call an Uber.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Yeah, so I left it at the phone. So anybody, if you see a phone at the airport, Phoenix Airport, it's mine. Please, please. I'm coming back today. Cash app yourself. Cash app myself a phone at the airport, Phoenix Airport, it's mine. Please, please. I'm coming back today. Cash app yourself. Cash app myself. All right. Well, let's get the show cracking.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Front page news. What are we talking about? Well, let's talk about Steve Nash. He's talking about Kyrie Irving's Instagram live and his thoughts on how to move forward. All right. We'll get into all that when we come back. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:06:41 All right. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Now, last night at Thursday Night Football, the Buccaneers beat the Eagles 28-22. Now, Major League Baseball, the Dodgers beat the Giants, and the Red Sox play the Astros tonight at 8-07. Now, WNBA, the Mercury play the Sky tonight at 9.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Now what else we got, Yeezy? Well, according to the New York Post, Steve Nash did not listen to Kyrie Irving's Instagram Live. He said, I didn't listen to it, and I pretty much said everything I've had to say about it. If something changes, we'll talk about it. But apparently he's ready to move on and not even discuss this anymore. He feels like it's been taking up too much attention.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Yeah, it has been. And it's going to be a distraction to the Brooklyn Nets. At the end of the day, they still got to take the floor and play ball, whether Kyrie's there or not. They can't be answering questions about Kyrie Irving every time there's a press conference. Right, okay. And Robert Durst.
Starting point is 00:07:36 You guys know about Robert Durst, right? They had a six-part HBO documentary on him called The Jinx. And then he actually admitted to murder on the documentary. Yeah. In the last episode, the documentary ends, he's in the bathroom and he's still mic'd up and he pretty much confesses to murder. Well, he was just sentenced yesterday to life in
Starting point is 00:07:56 prison for murdering a friend more than 20 years ago. And you know, they're also investigating whether or not he killed his own wife because she went missing. But he's like 90, right? He's like 92 or something like that. Eighty some eighty five and ninety. He's a lot older now, but it was just amazing because he wanted to do this documentary, gave them access to all of his records, was mic'd up, did multiple interviews.
Starting point is 00:08:18 And that's what ultimately ended up with him getting this conviction. So him in the bathroom pretty much confessing. So, yes, now he's been sentenced to life in prison with no possibility this conviction. So him in the bathroom pretty much confessing. So yes, now he's been sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole. All right. Well, that is your front page news. All right. Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:08:34 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up right now. Maybe you had a bad night, bad morning, or maybe lost your phone, or maybe you want to spread some positivity. 800-585-1051.

You have been a voice of reason every morning. Thank you. And Charlotte, you need to chill sometimes, man.

Starting point is 00:12:53 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
Starting point is 00:13:17 I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe owned country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory.
Starting point is 00:13:33 I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves, for self-preservation and protection. It was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're gonna figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or
Starting point is 00:14:56 wherever you get your podcasts. Jay! This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. You better have the same energy. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? This is Deshaun.

Starting point is 00:15:28 Well, I don't think she's listening, but I'm looking forward to it when they come back home. But hey, Caitlin, I just wanted to shout out my girl. Tell everybody have a safe weekend. Salute to Caitlin Jenna, man. I didn't know y'all was in a relationship. That's what's up. You're not talking about those damn Caitlin Jenna.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Oh, chill, bro. What? It's all good, King. You wild as hell. What you mean? I'm upset that, you know, that y'all didn't do better in the governor race in California, but it's all good, brother.
Starting point is 00:15:57 It's all good, King. Have a good one. Hello, who's this? Hey, it's Cam. Cam, what up? Get it off your chest, bro. Hey, man. I just want to say good morning to everybody.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Thank you. Happy Friday to everybody. I actually called in yesterday during the FG segment, and I talked to Ashley or whatever, and I just want to thank her for that advice she gave me yesterday. It was very helpful. It helped me think a little bit better. Shalom and to God, I want to thank you, King, for being you.
Starting point is 00:16:25 DJ Envy, I also want to thank you for being you. And you all have a blessed day, blessed weekend. Positive energy and love to all. Thank you. I love your positive energy this morning. Thank you, brother. I appreciate that so much, man. I feel great.
Starting point is 00:16:38 I woke up in a great mood. I got some good sleep tonight. I prayed a little bit and woke up this morning, God told me to keep focused and that's what I'm going to do. That's right. Stay focused, bro. Mercury's in Gatorade, but you stay focused.
Starting point is 00:16:51 I love them type of compliments when somebody says, man, I just appreciate you for being you, not for what you do, not for something you did for them, just for being you. I love that, man.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Thank you, brother. All right. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051 if you need to vent you can hit us up now we got rumors on the way yes and new allegations against bill cosby will tell you about this new lawsuit all right we'll get into that next and don't forget chloe bailey will be joining us this morning and also comedian and actor jb smooth all right it's the breakfast club good morning the breakfast club The Breakfast Club. Listen up.
Starting point is 00:17:25 It's just in. All the gossip. The rumor report. Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's the rumor report. The Breakfast Club. Well, there's a new federal lawsuit against Bill Cosby.
Starting point is 00:17:37 And the charges are that he drugged and raped a young actress in an Atlantic City, New Jersey hotel after promising to help boost her career. She actually played on The Cosby Show. She guest starred as Mrs. Minifield back in 1984. Her name is Lily Bernard. Now, according to her, this sexual assault happened inside the Trump Taj Mahal in August of 1990. She said that she went to go meet with him and he even asked her to call him daddy during that time. Apparently, he gave her a non-alcoholic drink, she alleges, and she awoke to find him naked on top of her raping her. She lost consciousness and when she awoke again, found herself naked and alone in an empty bathtub.
Starting point is 00:18:18 So the reason that she was not able to do anything before this was because this happened before 1996 and prosecutors could not proceed because the alleged offense was before that when the statute of limitations for sexual assault was lifted in New Jersey. But she did speak out at a press conference in 2015, alleging that he did give her a drug to drink and raped her. So these are new allegations and she is seeking compensation now at this point in time. She said she still thinks about it, and she still suffers from what happened. So she is seeking $25 million in damages from Cosby for her allegations of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment, and punitive damages.
Starting point is 00:19:03 All right, so we will keep you updated on that case. Now, Ashanti is saying that she has a lot of blue checks in her DMs. As we can all imagine, Black America Web posted an interview where she spoke about her upcoming movie, Honey Girls, and here's what she had to say about them blue checks. It's a sea of blue checks. It's kind of crazy. There's definitely a party going on in my DMs.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Do you ever respond to any of them? I do. Sometimes it's late, you know, sometimes it is a little late and I'm like, oh my gosh, I can't believe a year ago. Or, you know, because I wasn't a huge DMer,
Starting point is 00:19:41 but there are some really important ones that I answered and they turned into records. So not just people hollering, also business. Yeah. Or maybe somebody hollering could turn to business, but yes, it is definitely business. I can imagine a lot of people reach out to Ashanti for some guest appearances or to do stuff with her. So, you know, sometimes you got to read them because a lot of business can go down. What I never understand is like, you know, a lot of people have four business inquiries
Starting point is 00:20:05 in their bio. And so it's an email. But those are never as full as the DMs. Yeah. Maybe sometimes they also feel like if they hit that email, it's not going directly to you, artist to artist. It could be a manager or somebody else checking it. So they feel like, let me reach out directly and speak to the person.
Starting point is 00:20:23 I'd rather it go to the team because I'm busy and my memory bad. So I might see you and want to reply and want to do something, but I'm not organizing my schedule and all that good stuff. An artist might call you for something, might need, you know, you for something, want to talk to you for a quick minute. They don't want to go through the team, the email, and have to wait for a reply. DM is usually quick.
Starting point is 00:20:44 All right. Now, Toni Braxton has her first fragrance coming out, so that should be exciting for her. And she's actually partnering with the Home Shopping Network because she was introduced to that at an early age by her mom, and they're fans of that shopping television network. So it's named Breathe after, obviously, her hit song that was on her self-titled debut album back in 1993.
Starting point is 00:21:06 So congratulations to her. She said, my sisters are always honest. We had a few fragrances we were trying in the beginning. They were like, that's not it, or that's too heavy, or that's too this. So I had honest noses around me. They all love the fragrance. They love the bottle. And they're so excited about us getting together with HSN.
Starting point is 00:21:21 They're going to watch me on air this weekend. So you can buy that. It's actually modeled after her $1 million microphone in the bottle. Honest noses. Why would you lie about what something smells like? You can't be that much of a yes person. You just lie about what something
Starting point is 00:21:38 smells like. Everybody can smell. I think we're pretty universal on what we think smells good and what doesn't smell good, right? I don't know. I think different sc pretty universal on what we think smells good and what doesn't smell good. I don't know. I think different scents also smell different on different people. It does. For the most part, things smell good, though. You know what smells bad.
Starting point is 00:21:53 That's what I mean. You know what smells bad. But some people like stuff that I don't like. Some people like a stronger perfume. Some people like different types of scents. Some people like fruity things. Some people don't. It is all subjective, too,
Starting point is 00:22:06 based on your preference. Well, keep an honest nose around you people. It's very important in life. Some people like that wood scent, right? It's like that wood scent that people like in colognes. Alright, now Stacey Dash has revealed that she did have a past addiction, taking 18
Starting point is 00:22:22 to 20 pills a day. She was talking to Dr. Oz Oz and here's what she said. I just celebrated five years of sobriety. I'm clean. And in this five years, my blessing, the greatest blessing is that not only have I been able to be honest with myself and become a better person, I've been able to understand my parents and that they did love me
Starting point is 00:22:45 and that they were doing the best they could and they were just sick. How bad did this addiction get? I was taking 18 to 20 pills a day. 18 to 20 Vicodin a day? Yeah. I lost everything. She said it was her deepest, darkest secret and she said she spent about $5,000 to $10,000 a
Starting point is 00:23:01 month on pills. Also in that interview she talked about a bad period that she had a past abusive boyfriend who once left her with a broken arm in her early 20s. She said he would beat her so bad she couldn't get out of bed for two weeks, couldn't walk. And she said her arm tied her to the bed for three days. Some part of me thought that's what I deserved. Well, I'm sending her healing energy and I'm glad she's out of that space. And if she was high for the last five years that explains a lot and if you do know she was battling addiction and she was high like that for the last five years
Starting point is 00:23:31 do you excuse some of the things she said and did politically I mean I still don't wouldn't wish that on anybody no matter how much I dislike their views so I'm saying but would you excuse some of those views politically being that you know she wasn't in her well I don't know that she still means them or not. Yeah, even though she was high she still might stand on it Remember she said some months ago. She said she didn't believe none of that stuff remember is she forgot exactly what the exact quote was remember she came out and said she didn't believe a lot of that stuff she was saying she was just saying it because she was Forgot why but yes, she did denounce a lot of that stuff. Alright, well that is
Starting point is 00:24:06 your rumor report. Alright, thank you Missy. She was truly done supporting Trump and apologized for her past support of Trump. Y'all remember that? I remember she said that, but I didn't know that meant that she didn't mean anything she said. All the other stuff that she said years ago.
Starting point is 00:24:21 That's not who I am. Well, you know, maybe it wasn't. I mean, we would hate to think that. I think we all grew up loving Stacey Dash, so that was always a disappointment. But I do feel like my heart goes out to her. That's not an easy addiction. It's a disease to try to have to kick.
Starting point is 00:24:36 And especially when it probably gets even worse when you're saying these things and people are coming at you. All right, well, front page news. You could be getting some more money today. So check your account. We'll tell you who qualifies. We'll get into that next.
Starting point is 00:24:49 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. This Sunday on CBS, Queen Latifah is back equalizing injustice in The Equalizer.
Starting point is 00:25:01 Need help? Have nowhere to run? She's the one you call when you can't call 911. America's number one news show, The Equalizer. Need help? Have nowhere to run? She's the one you call when you can't call 911. America's number one news show, The Equalizer, returns this Sunday at 8, 7 Central on CBS. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 00:25:20 We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. All right, now let's start off with some sports. Last night, the Buccaneers beat the Eagles 28-22 We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. All right, now let's start off with some sports. Last night, the Buccaneers beat the Eagles 28-22 in Major League Baseball. The Dodgers beat the Giants 2-1. Tonight, the Red Sox take on the Astros. And in WNBA news, the Mercury take on the Sky. Now, what else we got, Yeezy?
Starting point is 00:25:38 Well, millions of families will get their fourth enhanced child tax credit payment today, which the IRS is distributing. About $15 billion was sent to roughly 35 million families last month. And the average payment to the parents who had 60 million children was $428. Most parents automatically get the enhanced credit of up to $300 for each child up to age 6 and $250 for each one age 6 through 17. So there's going to be two more monthly payments the IRS is scheduled to send in 2021. So look for that, because you might have that in your check
Starting point is 00:26:11 with your expanded child tax credit. All right, now, Joe Biden did a six-minute address to the nation where he said that the private sector COVID vaccine mandate will take effect soon. Now, some of the things that he talked about is that there has been progress. We're making progress. Nationally, daily cases are down 47 percent. Hospitalizations are down 38 percent over the past six weeks. Over the past two weeks, most of the country has improved as well. Case rates are declining in 39 states and hospital rates are declining in 38 states. We're down to 66 million, still an unacceptably high number of unvaccinated people
Starting point is 00:26:51 from almost 100 million in July. All right, well, this is going to make some people who are anti-vaxxers very upset, but they are about to have some vaccine requirements for businesses with 100 employees or more. Vaccine requirements that we started rolling out in the summer are working. The Labor Department is going to soon be issuing an emergency rule for companies with 100 or more employees to implement vaccination requirements among their workforce. Every day we see more businesses implementing vaccination requirements and the mounting data shows that they work. All right. So I guess that's going to be happening soon. And again, we'll keep you updated. But according to data right now,
Starting point is 00:27:36 78.5% of us adults have had at least one COVID shots. Man, that's going to hurt him. That's going to hurt him in the future. I mean, you know, it's probably necessary, but to have those mandates on the vaccine and the people that, a lot of people that lost their jobs because of those mandates and people that had to quit because their jobs won't allow them to be on because they're vaccinated, that's going to haunt Joe Biden
Starting point is 00:27:58 in the future. His approval rating is already the lowest it's ever been. And it's simply because voters want an ROI on the things that, you know, that were promised on the campaign trail. But that's not happening. And this, you know, going on with these mandates and it's causing people to lose their jobs. That's going to come back a hundred in the future. Well, hopefully we can turn the corner soon and then not have to have these mandates.
Starting point is 00:28:17 And the people are already fired. We don't have the pandemic. The holiday is coming up. People never forget how you made them feel. And let me tell you something. It's interesting to me how, like how people here, the people who don't want to get vaccinated, how there's people in other countries that are dying to get these vaccinations
Starting point is 00:28:29 and then we have to send them and they're upset that they don't have enough and then we have a surplus here and then people don't want it. It's just crazy. Everything's the opposite. Alright, and Bill Clinton has been hospitalized for a urinary tract infection and it actually spread to his... UTI? Yes it actually spread yes wow why is that
Starting point is 00:28:48 so fascinating to you i mean i hear about people getting utis all the time i just you know just what i just it's just wow bill clinton got a uti so he's in good spirits no it's bacteria you can get get it from wiping yourself the wrong way. Bacteria getting into your, I think, where your urine comes out. Wiping yourself the wrong way. Yeah, you can because it's basically bacteria. You don't come out of there, though. Yeah, you have to wipe all the way up.
Starting point is 00:29:17 That's what I'm saying. It's bacteria that lives in one area that goes into your urethra. Pass the testicles all the way up. There's no way. Well, for girls, you know you're not supposed to do that. They teach you from a young age. From one area that goes into your urethra. Pass the testicles all the way up. Back to front. Well, for girls, you know you're not supposed to do that. They teach you from a young age. We talk about Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton wiping back to front.
Starting point is 00:29:32 I don't know how you got it. That's a long way to go. But you know, a lot of times they say that does happen when bacteria from your partner's genitals also gets in there. So it could be for any reason. We don't know how he got it. So you're blaming it on Hillary now. That's what you're blaming it on Hillary now.
Starting point is 00:29:46 I had a friend that happened to. I'm not going to say who. A dude? He wiped the wrong way? He had a urinary tract infection. If you listen to the Brewing Needed podcast, you know who I'm talking about. It can also happen from other things, though,
Starting point is 00:29:55 like your hygiene. It says diabetes is a cause as well. Also, if you're not emptying your bladder properly. So it could be any of those things. Yeah, and he old now. What does that have to do with it? What does the man call the... He still ain't wiping the wrong way.
Starting point is 00:30:09 You can't wipe the wrong way. For women, we can. Not for guys. Yeah, I just... No, we've been taught that since we were young. Make sure you wipe front to back. Do not wipe back to front. Yeah, it's pretty easy to get a UTI.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Bacteria that lives in the vagina, genitals, or anal areas may enter the urethra, travel to the bladder. Yeah. There you go. Travel to the bladder and urethra. Urethra Franklin. Urethra Franklin. What's a vulva? I don't think you have that.
Starting point is 00:30:40 You don't have that, right? No, you don't have that. So don't worry about it. I don't know how the hell he got a UTI? I want to hear more. My goodness. All right. Well, that is your front page news.
Starting point is 00:30:49 You probably don't even know how he got it. They said it's really common in older people. It says this can happen during sexual activity when bacteria from your partner's genitals, anus, fingers, and sex toys get pushed into your urethra. UTIs can also be caused by chlamydia, gonorrhea, or other organisms. That's why I always thought UTI was STD. No, it's not. It's just a urinary tract infection.
Starting point is 00:31:12 All right. And you can get it without having sex. You don't have to have sex to get a UTI. Anybody that brings bacteria in contact with your urethra can cause a UTI. Who the hell brought bacteria in contact with Bill Clinton's urethra? Can you say urethra?
Starting point is 00:31:27 My goodness. All right. All right. Now, when we come back, Chloe Bailey will be joining us. She has a new single. We'll get that on as well. Are we playing our song? Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:36 Okay. All right. So don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max.

I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Starting point is 00:33:11 The Waikana tried my country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Bullets. We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that
Starting point is 00:34:14 is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts morning everybody it's dj envy angela yee charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club we got a special guest in the building she's back chloe bailey welcome back thanks for having me guys i'm so happy how are you first of
Starting point is 00:34:57 all i'm doing really good i'm doing great actually i'm blessed and highly favored blessed black and highly favored yes amen it's always a pleasure to see you, by the way. I know since you guys are young, I'm always like, she's there for both of you. You and Helly are so dope. So I love to see the success that you've been having. And I know outwardly, like, you've been handling things well.
Starting point is 00:35:17 But I saw you tweet out, if I told you what I go through, you wouldn't believe me. You have no idea. Yeah. So what do you go through? Well, tell us. Tell us. Tell us. I think we all go through some stuff't believe me you have no idea yeah you know tell us tell us tell us I think we all go through some stuff you know like we're all human and life isn't as easy as people might think and how you present so I think that's what makes the journey even special when you know how
Starting point is 00:35:36 much hard work and blood sweat and tears you put into it and that's what makes the journey sweeter and when you get there so yeah especially when it comes to energy because I got to think social media has to get to you sometimes. Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. Of course, you know, a lot of times the words that I see bother me,
Starting point is 00:35:52 but I'm learning that that isn't what validates me and they're talking. So it's a blessing in a way. You got to turn it off sometimes. It's like, you know what? I got to disconnect. I wish I could,
Starting point is 00:36:03 but at the same time, it's helping me get my name out there and we're in the middle of a pandemic so it's not like i can just shut my phone off and go out and go on tour and everything so it's like that's the way to the fan so it's kind of it's like a blessing and a curse at the same time you have to disconnect though to protect your mental absolutely and emotional peace yeah you gotta kind of be able to tell what's real and what's fake and it it's like, of course, you care about what people say. But at the end of the day, it's not everything. It's what's right here.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I saw you on Jimmy Fallon and I love the fact that you was up there like making beats. Thank you. And I know production is a big deal for you. Yeah. On the new album, are you going to be producing? Absolutely. I'm always producing and mixing my vocals and involved in every little bit of the process, but it's also been fun
Starting point is 00:36:48 collaborating because, you know, at the group I was like always behind the computer with the engineering and the production and now I'm like, I get to have an engineer record me. I get to focus on my vocals and making it sound really pristine and clear and like really getting that perfect. So it's been nice kind of doing both at the same time.
Starting point is 00:37:04 What got you into making beats? When did you start making beats? When I was like 12, 11, 12. Don't disrespect you like that. No, you good, you good. You good. A lot of people don't know, but I love, love music. I'm such a nerd and I love building things.
Starting point is 00:37:19 And it's like music is math. So it always came easy and I just love it. And it's like sometimes you can't really articulate to someone how you hear something. So it's like, I would just take it and I'd be like, okay, I want this here. I want that there. And then I just started taking over it completely.
Starting point is 00:37:31 So it's, it's really fun. I love producing. I would like to know what Chloe, cause you said you do care what people think about you. What, what exactly? I think when it's the complete opposite of who I am and my character,
Starting point is 00:37:44 I think that's when it bothers me the most or like any comparisons. But... Because you want to say, y'all don't know me. Of course. Of course. I think when you all hear things being said negatively about yourself, sometimes you always want to respond and be like, no, no. But at the end of the day, you got to let the work speak for itself.
Starting point is 00:38:00 That's right. It makes you go harder too. You'd be like, okay, you feel like that. Watch what's about to happen next. Exactly. Exactly. You think it's difficult because we, I think a lot of the fans seen you grow up, like they seen you from the young age. Yeah. Yeah. And then grow up into this woman. So you think that's what difficult because they still see you as a little kid? It could be. I don't really know, but I'm happy because they grew up with me.
Starting point is 00:38:20 So without them, I wouldn't be here right now. So it's like we're on a journey together. Are there some older male perverts out there that once you got of age was like, hey, girl. You know, if there were, I wasn't paying attention. So I hope not. I hope not. I feel like you've gotten to that space like a little Nas X where you know exactly what to do on social media to get people talking. Oh, you think so? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Oh. I wish I knew knew i'm just being myself i i'm not gonna like it happy if i see my name trending over me just be myself like oh that's cool and then i'll like get off of it so i don't really dive too deep into what people are saying but it's pretty cool but a little bit though like you might tweet something or post something like okay i know this about the rip i mean honestly it's always the things that i least expect that kind of go the furthest which is crazy okay so like what was the last thing doing too much of my specialty oh yeah yeah yeah that i just tweeted that because
Starting point is 00:39:15 i've always been doing too much ever since i was a little girl and it's who i am and i just i have so much passion and fire in my heart and it just comes alive when i'm on the stage and i have so much to give so i think that's what people are seeing and I'm happy they're watching you'll realize that turned into a thing because somebody tried to say oh when you did the Fallon she's doing too much and then I love that response because isn't that what we want performers to do right to get on stage and go above and beyond and give it their all yeah I there's so many incredible artists out there and not one is the same I think it's really special to have variety. And, you know, if they want to watch me and my performance, that's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:39:49 I appreciate it. Yeah, I'm just going to keep doing me. Do you find it's always the people who aren't doing enough trying to tell you that you're doing too much? Honestly, I don't really pay attention to the people who are actually saying it that much. Because if I do, I'm really going down a rabbit hole and I'm getting the focus off of myself. But, you know, I think we all have our little personal things we deal with. And sometimes when we're bothered, we just outwardly say it. So it's okay.
Starting point is 00:40:16 I don't really mind. If you don't shoot, your sister will. Yeah. She's coming. She's an Aries. Have you ever gotten into a fight for real and, like, jumped in, like, a physical altercation? My sister and I? No, not y'all too, but with somebody else. Oh, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Y'all don't gotta jump nobody. No, no, no, no. Y'all would though. I'm very protective. I'll be protective of my words. Yes, yes. Now you say Beyonce is an influence and you also say Khalees is an influence. I love Khalees, yeah, yeah. So now doing this album,
Starting point is 00:40:45 Khalees has been known to cross all type of lines and do things left. Is that what this album is going to be about? Doing some things different that people are not necessarily thinking about? Well, the thing is, people don't really know me completely. So everything will be a shock and surprise
Starting point is 00:40:58 because they're finally seeing the real me and the full me. So I think that's really all it is. Like even when I made my own Instagram, I wasn't doing anything different. Half the stuff on there was from my Finsta and my private account that all my friends and family were on.
Starting point is 00:41:10 People are just now getting introduced to me. That's interesting to Khalees. You know, you don't hear that too often. I love Khalees. Khalees gets busy. Why is she? One, her tone of her voice and how, like, sexy and raunchy and bossy
Starting point is 00:41:24 her lyrics are always. And her vocal production. I think she's so crazy talented. Any shoot I'm on and I just want to feel more confident, I put her on one. Have you met Kalisha? No, but she follows me on Instagram and I got to tell you, I was so happy. I was so happy. And then two, I recently got to work with the Neptunes and I was like, you guys have no idea how much you inspire me.
Starting point is 00:41:44 Wow. Yeah, yeah. We have more with Chloe Bailey when we come back. Don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. work with the Neptunes and I was like you guys have no idea how much you inspire me so yeah yeah we have more with Chloe Bailey when we come back don't move it's the Breakfast Club good morning everybody it's DJ Envy Angela Yee Charlamagne Tha Guy we are the Breakfast Club we're still kicking it with Chloe Bailey Charlamagne
Starting point is 00:41:57 now you get Beyonce comparisons have you spoken to Beyonce herself about those I love her so much and you know we talk about we talk about any and everything and I'm her so much. And, you know, we talk about... You signed her, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We talk about any and everything. And I'm just so grateful to have her stamp of approval.
Starting point is 00:42:10 And, you know, when she always gives me words of encouragement, you have no idea how much that means to me. So it's like what she kind of says, it's like, okay, that's pretty dope because she's been there,
Starting point is 00:42:19 she's done that. And to know that the advice that she's giving me is exactly from the place I've been, it's pretty cool and inspiring. What did she say about you know you are maybe feeding into those comparisons did she tell you not to or she says she's really proud of me and you know that's not something we specifically talk about um but i'm i just love her and i'm happy she sees this light inside of me and and my sister as well so how do you feel about it i'm grateful that's the biggest compliment anyone could possibly give me i have so
Starting point is 00:42:50 much more work to do to even get there even get an ounce of where she is so it's a huge compliment for sure yeah i often wonder we're putting too much on artists when we do that though because you know beyonce is beyonce it's like you'll give her a chance to be chloe yeah i mean to give people the benefit of the doubt. We all do that. We're like, oh, like if someone is inspired by Janet Jackson or anything like that. So I don't really mind when people say that. I just know I have a lot of work to do.
Starting point is 00:43:14 How protective is your family, your mom and your dad when they see all the things on social media or the news? And your brother. Because I'm sure your dad got to be just ready to wild out and punch everybody in the face at one point because you're his baby. Yeah, yeah. My family's so protective.
Starting point is 00:43:31 And my little brother and my godmom and Hallie, they're like ready to fight someone for me. You ever had to call them and be like, dad, chill out. Dad, chill out. I got this. You know, there's been a few times where I'm like, you know, silence is the best answer. It's okay. And a lot of times, like, if I get emotionally overwhelmed, I take a deep breath and just kind of pray. And I'll call up my godmom on the phone and be like, I can't. I can't.
Starting point is 00:43:49 So your godmom is your go-to person? Yes, my go-to person. She calms you down? Yes, all the time. Like, instantly. You're from South Carolina, right? Yeah. What part?
Starting point is 00:43:57 We're related. Who? Me and you. Uh-oh. Really? McKelvey, yes. You talked about this last time. You did?
Starting point is 00:44:03 Yes. Oh, my God. This guy. It's okay. I'm sorry, cousin. It's all right. McKelvey, yes. No. We talked about this last time. We did? Yes. Oh, my God. This guy. It's okay. I'm sorry, cousin. It's all right. It's okay, cousin. It's okay, cousin.
Starting point is 00:44:10 He's going to call in some cousins. It's okay, cousin. Tell him he can't borrow money, though. Nope. But can I? I don't know why I'm having that conversation. Right up there. He's going to call in some cousins.
Starting point is 00:44:18 Oh, he's out there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, okay, okay. He got you. It's okay. No, you can say you don't remember, because I wouldn't remember. I wouldn't remember. I take J-Go Beloba every day. My memory. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no. You good. Well, he's a lot older. It's OK. No, you can say you don't remember, because I wouldn't remember. I wouldn't remember if someone told me that. I take Jango Beloba every day, my memory.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, no, you good. But I appreciate that, cousin. No, don't be trying to claim that now. What? Who not? Like, hey, that's my cousin now. Y'all be cool. Y'all be careful now.
Starting point is 00:44:38 You know, the other day we had to play part of Halle's performance. She did such an amazing job at Disney. She killed it. She killed it. Yes, I'm so proud of her. And it really had people going crazy on social media. So what was the conversation with her like after that? I was just so proud of her. You know, she taped that maybe a month and a half ago.
Starting point is 00:44:53 And we were all hanging in her apartment together, me and my little brother and our pets, Poseidon and Common. So we were chilling watching Squid Game, actually. And then when it aired, I was like, sis, you sang down. Is it tough creating a solo album? You know know i'll tell you the most difficult part believing in myself but with the creation side it's very therapeutic for me and it's literally all i do so that was easy because when i'm stressed when i'm sad when i'm happy i pour my heart out into my music and literally music has saved my life.
Starting point is 00:45:25 So the creation part isn't hard. And the performing part, it's a little scary. I always get so nervous for any performance. Like I'll be shaking like this. I'm like, oh, I'll be praying so hard. Believing in yourself is interesting because even after you create, what will give you that belief in yourself? Is it the reaction from people? Absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:45:42 If you pay attention to what people are saying, you just, you're never going to get there. I think you have to realize the power in your voice. And one thing I'm learning is that I have to trust my intuition and my gut and not second guess myself a lot. And it's like, if you don't believe in yourself or if you don't fight for yourself, no one else will. Yeah, getting to a place of worthiness is tough. Why? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:03 Like, I got there really really really really really late in life so i always wonder about like young young individuals like yourself yeah who take so much criticism it's like where do they get a sense of worthiness from yeah i it's a lot of self-reflection and you know i'm not perfect and there's still so much i have to go and we kind of always go in that space where it's like okay am I doing enough am I on the right path but I just have to realize it's more than me absolutely and have mercy is a very confident song too yeah I'll yeah have mercy I wrote that in April and it was like a response to everything going on because if like I think about it that was like the month like the whole top from January to like May was when everyone really were talking
Starting point is 00:46:43 about me and how I was showing myself and my body and all that. So Have Mercy, I wrote that in response to everything. So it's crazy that that ended up being my first song and everyone's loving it. Right. You try to have a lot of women out too. Yeah. Yeah. I'm happy.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Like when women come up to me and say that I inspire them to be more confident in their bodies, you have no idea how much that means to me. Because I'm still always finding the confidence within myself. Like people are like, like oh you seem like the most confident person blah blah blah but it's like how people think i am is where i'm trying to get what's your biggest fear in this industry if any my biggest fear in the industry i'm scared of failure that and disappointing myself but other than that like i feel like if i just keep my head down i'll make it yeah i like that i like the journey that you know i would tell you don't put too much don't put too much pressure on yourself yeah that's that's another lesson i'm learning for sure like just have fun enjoy the moment that's i'm learning that and i'll tell you the things that bring me the
Starting point is 00:47:39 most joy is like food so like when i get a day off i be stuffing my face like nobody's business you can try the food from different places yes and carbs you have no idea how much joy that brings me but you got to find those little moments of joy those little things that bring you joy just exactly keep saying out here absolutely what's your favorite place to eat your favorite place to be oh my favorite place to eat new york what's your favorite place so i'm vegan Oh, my favorite place to eat. Florida, Houston, New York. What's your favorite place to eat? So I'm vegan, right? And my favorite vegan spot. That's not fun. It is fun. There's a lot of vegan options now. I'm the vegan who loves like junk food
Starting point is 00:48:12 and it's like sage and crossroads. I love like donuts and pasta and rice. I can't eat vegetables without rice. And if I don't work out or like constantly like pay attention to it, I'll like gain really fast. When you when you became vegan? Nine years ago.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Wow. What inspired that? So our mom, she was like, oh, I was at this place and they're like, try being vegetarian. You know, the energy that you put in, whatever. So we're like, sure, we tried it. We tried it. And, you know, sis and I, we never went back. Our family, they all eat meat and everything.
Starting point is 00:48:42 And it's just so I like it. We have more with Chloe Bailey when we come back. Don't move. all eat meat and everything. And it's just us. So I like it. All right. We have more with Chloe Bailey when we come back. Don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 00:48:54 We are The Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with Chloe Bailey. Who would you want to collab with? We see you did the joint with Young Blue. Yes. Yes. Who would you want to collab with? I have so many dreams.
Starting point is 00:49:05 I'll tell you. Tell some of them. Okay. Beyonce. Come on. That's a hometown dream. Kanye. Andre 3000.
Starting point is 00:49:12 Frank Ocean. Travis. Rosalia. I would love. Those are like my top ones. Doja. You know, that would be fun too. Why haven't you called
Starting point is 00:49:20 into Beyonce's favor yet? Oh, I don't know. Oh, that means there is one on the solo album. How much of the album is done? How much of the album is what? Done. Oh, it's like 85% done.
Starting point is 00:49:33 I want to do like one more round of just like grinding after like I do all this Press for Have Mercy and just like make sure I'm getting everything that I need out of this project. I'm really proud of it. And I'm really excited. Is the Beyonce song with you a ballad or up-tempo? Yeah, is it up-tempo?
Starting point is 00:49:46 Up-tempo would be fire. I don't know, guys. That video? We'd have to create it. We'd have to... What? We'd have to create it. I hope one day,
Starting point is 00:49:54 I hope so. Because I realized how good of a performer you was. I forgot what award show that was. What was that? What award show? VMAs.
Starting point is 00:50:00 That was the VMAs? Yeah. I'm like, oh, she's really a dope performer. You think so? Oh, yeah. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:50:05 That video with you and B going to be crazy. What'd you say? You and Beyonce perform that song at the next VMAs? That'd be dope. That would be so cool. One day. One day. And then I saw you licked the mic, and you were like,
Starting point is 00:50:17 I don't even recall doing that. Why you licking mics during COVID? Listen. You don't know where I had that mic before. She sanitized it. I'm the biggest, like, germaphobe. We canaphobe and i was so excited on that stage and when i'm on the stage i just kind of black out and i just i kind of lose it and i don't i swear i don't remember doing that and i watched it back i said oh wow oh wow i was like wow okay
Starting point is 00:50:40 and you know it's really funny looking back i'm grateful that two weeks after I was fine, I'm still tested negative. I know you were like, damn it, where's Tammy? Nick and Mike's is not part of COVID protocol. How many of your exes have called you up and been like,
Starting point is 00:50:55 so girl, what's happening? Like, can we grab something to eat? Honestly, none. None. Because I block half of them.
Starting point is 00:51:04 Then the other half, we're still friends. And it's not, you know, it's like people will respect you. They know not to just reach out to you when things are great. If you don't speak anymore. So, yeah, I'm chilling. So there's no going back with any. Oh, no, no, no. So what are you like in a guy now?
Starting point is 00:51:18 Like if you had to say this is my ideal man, what would that be? Okay. So I'm a nerd inside. So I like the guy really cool and like fire on the outside, but they got a nerd out on the inside. Nerds with edge, that's what I call it.
Starting point is 00:51:30 Yes, exactly. So that's what I like and they have to be really sweet and kind and funny and intellectual because that's like, that's what gets me. So yeah. I want to eradicate the stigma
Starting point is 00:51:39 around the word nerd. So nothing like your cousin. Okay, okay. I think nerd gets a bad rap. Yeah, I agree. Like I want, like you want to be the nerd gets a bad rap. Yeah, I agree. Like, I want, like, you want to be the nerd. You want that. You want to be that.
Starting point is 00:51:49 Yeah. Nothing to do with you, sir. What'd you say? Nothing to do with you, sir. Yeah, I don't know what you're saying. I know he's pointing at himself. We don't think about nerd with you. You gonna let him talk to me like that, cousin?
Starting point is 00:51:58 Hollywood did something, you know what I'm saying? All right. Woo! Woo! So what's the nerd thing that you're into? Because you called yourself a nerd a couple of. So what's the nerd things that you're into? Because you called yourself a nerd a couple of times. What are the nerd things that you're into? Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:52:10 I love Legos. I love crosswords and word searches. That's not nerdy. Stop saying that. Legos? No. Thank you. What about grown men that draw their beards on and put the paint on?
Starting point is 00:52:20 That's not nerdy? I think that's a personal choice. Okay, there you go because yeah some some people aren't blessed in that and if they want to get that then they got to do what they got to do to get it that's true what about grown men that can't have grow any hair always have to wear a hat because because they look like robocop well i think they should be confident in their bald head and you know if they want to wear the hat wear the hat but sometimes let the breeze flow have you been hat fished hat fish no no because i like to run my fingers through the hair oh well that x out a lot of people what about short men how do you feel about short men
Starting point is 00:52:59 short men are great i want i don't want to be taller than you in heels okay what about hair pieces like what if a guy has a hair piece hold on that short minute great i don't want to be taller than you in heels. Okay. What about hair pieces? Would you wouldn't you be taller than the show That was a bad problem I still can't figure out Sherman a great but in other words Not for her Got you got you Now how many We saw Ari shut down claims
Starting point is 00:53:32 That you had some sort of light skin privilege When a Twitter user tried to say that How did you feel about that comment I think black women are beautiful And I don't like how mainstream media tries to pit women Black women specifically against each other And I love it when we come media tries to pit women, black women specifically against each other. And I love it when we come together.
Starting point is 00:53:48 So that is so beautiful and empowering. And I love Ari and she's gorgeous and so talented. Did you hit her up after that? We'll be Instagram DM in a lot. So I'm pretty sure I don't, I can't really specifically recall, but I'm sure we did. I saw you're also excited for Summer Walker's album.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Oh yes. And then I saw the Sierra outro excited for Summer Walker's album oh yes and then I saw the Ciara outro Ciara's Prayer and then I heard Adele's album is coming out the same month and it's like gonna be so great for women and we're gonna be singing our hearts out that's what I'm excited for cause we get Summer one week and Adele the next
Starting point is 00:54:18 week I believe right it's gonna be a good time so when is yours coming very soon I wanna release some more music cause I am technically a new artist. And I want people to really get to know me musically and then drop my project. But it's almost done. Do you think they're respecting the music? Or they might be respecting just, which is still a good problem to have,
Starting point is 00:54:35 respecting just you more as an artist. Whatever it is, I'm grateful for it because they're paying attention. So whether it's me as a person or my music, I'm happy for it. Absolutely. That's good. You're very multi-talented. Thank you. What are some other spaces you see yourself being in?
Starting point is 00:54:48 Yeah. I love acting. I really want people to see me in that world. And producing for other artists and scoring. That would be so much fun for me. You're not going to have no time. Well, you got to grind. You got to put the work in.
Starting point is 00:55:01 Do it while you're young, man. Exactly. You know, they say retirement's not an age, it's an income. Preach it. I know social media likes to say you're too sexy what do your parents say my parents are pretty supportive you know i've always been very in tune with myself and my body so as much as of a shock as it was for the world it was like oh it wasn't really anything from my family yeah even daddy i'm sure dad had a lot of things and thoughts about it but he didn't really articulate them towards me and they raised you guys pretty great yeah so i'm sure that they also are confident that you're
Starting point is 00:55:35 gonna make smart decisions for sure i hope so i hope so right yeah that's good because it's a family affair other than your cousin you're a strange cousin cousin what's good because it's a family affair. Other than your cousin, your estranged cousin. Cousin? What's up, cousin? What's up? Oh, my goodness. I can't believe you forgot. That hurt my feelings. I'm not going to lie. No, I forget everything.
Starting point is 00:55:51 That has nothing to do with you. Don't take it personal at all. I'm just old. Okay, it's okay. I've got bad memories. It's okay, I forgive you. I'll never forget that. We family.
Starting point is 00:55:59 That's right. Let's get into the song. You want to introduce the joint with you and Beyonce? Go ahead. Oh, exclusive? We got the exclusive? Go ahead,, exclusive? We got the exclusive? Go ahead. We got the exclusive?
Starting point is 00:56:08 What's it called? I Am Destiny's Child? What's it called? Well, my new single, Have Mercy, you know, it's all about loving yourself and your body and your assets. And yeah, so I hope you guys like it. All right. Well, we appreciate you for joining us this morning. Thank you so much. Thank you
Starting point is 00:56:26 guys. Absolutely, cousin. It's always a pleasure. It's so much fun. It's Chloe Bailey. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. That's Chloe Bailey right here, right? Yep. This is Have Mercy. Okay, drop on the clues bombs for my cousin Chloe Bailey. Alright? You claiming that from now on? I bet you are. Can't believe you forgot that.
Starting point is 00:56:46 My memory is not the best. You know, sleuth or daddy, Doug, though. That's a big deal, though. That's your family. And her uncle, Joseph. We know. We know. I knew Joseph growing up, though.
Starting point is 00:56:55 That's the crazy part. You had no idea, bro. What the hell did you talk about? I did know Joseph Bailey growing up very well. I didn't know Doug, though, their father. All right. Well, morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 00:57:08 We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Wendy Williams. This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee. The rumor has it. On The Breakfast Club. So listen up. Well, The Wendy Williams Show is coming back on Monday.
Starting point is 00:57:26 Now, it was originally supposed to start on September 20th, but it got pushed back several times because of ongoing health issues. But it will be returning. Wendy won't be on there. October 18th, that episode is hosted by a panel that includes Devin Simone, Bevy Smith, Elizabeth Wagmeister, and Michael Yeo. And then from Tuesday through Friday, Leah Remini will be sitting in for Wendy Williams. So that's what's going to be happening.
Starting point is 00:57:50 They said it's going to be like a remix of Hot Topic, still have Wendy's presence on the show, but it'll be kind of remixed. So they're doing it by committee, basically, it looks like. Yeah, I know. I saw a lot of people talking about how they were petitioning to have the opportunity to host the show and sending in letters and trying to get that opportunity. So I guess as we're seeing when Wendy might return, you'll see how long there'll be guest hosts. But they said she is having some serious complications as a direct result of Graves' disease and her thyroid condition. Oh, wow. All right. Now, Doja Cat has surpassed Drake as a rapper, as the rapper with the most monthly Spotify listeners. So congratulations to her. This is just monthly, but she had sixty three point six million while Drake had sixty three point three million. So Doja Cat. Congratulations to her. Definitely that one. All right. Now, Speedy Mormon did an interview, 360 with Speedy Mormon with Meek Mill, and
Starting point is 00:58:45 it was a very extensive conversation. Some of the things that were discussed was Meek Mill talking about perhaps he is, you know, almost done. Next week is going to be a different group of songs. We're going to call it a stand-down. We're going to make it longer. We're going to basically update the playlist. A whole new vibe.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Yeah, people usually do deluxe. It's two, three records. This is is gonna be more than two three records i got a point to prove like from here to 2022 people don't really really be with me like that so i'm gonna keep like charging the doors every three four months on some rap and probably until the next three years until i feel like rapping i got like three four more years left that deluxe edition they're saying that there might be that pop smoke collab that he's been teasing for quite a while on that deluxe edition as well. So get ready for that now. In addition to that, there was a lot of backlash. We discussed this over the album cover with the women on it.
Starting point is 00:59:36 The artist who actually painted that is a woman. Here's what he had to say. No, do I think it's appropriate to have naked women on buses? No, I do not think that's appropriate. That can be changed. But Nina is a great woman. She's an African-American artist that represents black women. And a lot of black women support her. Like, you know, social media is like not real.
Starting point is 00:59:57 In my neighborhood, people are really dying every day in Philadelphia. Little girls, little boys. The topic of a wrap of a bus is not a real thing that's going on in the places we come from. But you know, everybody can have their opinion, but I'm not too fine on that social fake s***, that fake canceling people's s***. I'm still confused about that.
Starting point is 01:00:14 It's inappropriate to have a cartoon image on a bus, but it's not inappropriate to have that same image of a real person on an album cover or on a poster or in a music video. Like, i was really confused about what made people so irate about that well he's saying everybody can have whatever opinion they want but he's explaining this is a black woman who actually created this art he wasn't trying to disrespect black women at all and don't we sell it don't we celebrate uh the
Starting point is 01:00:38 video don't we celebrate chloe bailey when she do the busted challenge like i'm i'm i just was really confused about why all of a sudden people found that inappropriate and it was a cartoon image it's art they get mad when they want to get mad it makes no sense it doesn't but you know hey who cares about logic in 2021 all right in addition to that he talked about his 90,000 sold
Starting point is 01:00:58 in the first week and whether or not that matters to him me I'd rather him take me off billboard you gotta think about like what is the purpose of me being on Billboard? If Jay-Z talking about he don't believe Billboard, he been in the game for 30 years, why should I put myself in a position to be where they say allegedly something is being manipulated,
Starting point is 01:01:16 and then I'm putting my brand on a list that's being manipulated. If I'm not manipulating that list, why should I even put myself in that to make anybody look over top of me, not I'm not manipulating that list, why should I even put myself in that to make anybody look over the top of me? Not saying anyone is manipulating that list, but Billboard is not a part of my marketing scheme. All right, so as long as he knows...
Starting point is 01:01:34 Is there a difference between Billboard and SoundScan, though? I think Billboard is... Is it different? I don't know. I thought SoundScan usually calculates the amount of records sold, and Billboard was something else. I guess Billboard is your placement, though, like number one, number two, you know, number one on Billboard.
Starting point is 01:01:48 But I get them, because, I mean, it's no longer where they just count sales. There's bundles. You could buy a T-shirt with listening to the album. You can buy a ticket to that. So they play with the numbers a lot. Yeah, I get it. I get what Meek's saying, but you also can't change the rules based off, you know, whether or not you sell a crazy amount of records or not because the rules have been changing i'm saying we've changed in the last couple of years but you know because they
Starting point is 01:02:12 just started adding bundles they just started adding the fact that you could get ticket sales with album sales they just started doing yeah things are evolving because remember youtube numbers didn't used to count i think doesn't count yeah so it's a lot of different rules that have to evolve as how people consume music evolves too but the point remains when artists sell a lot of records they brag about it they always have historically yeah so it's me but i think that was a different time when meek was saying meek was saying back then they didn't calculate you didn't you couldn't mess with the numbers it was just based off of sales and streams now it's you can do bundles you can do t-shirts-shirts. There's a lot of different ways to sell. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:02:46 Alright, well there's a lot more on there. He also talked about how he feels like he might move on from rap within the next four years. In addition, he's going to write a movie, so he's looking to get more into the movie industry and he's looking to become a screenwriter. Alright, now I want to shout out to Meg
Starting point is 01:03:02 DeStallion. She actually has a deal now with Popeyes. So apparently she's opening up her own Popeyes location and she has her very own hottie sauce at Popeyes. That's coming out on Tuesday, October 19th. So congratulations to her. She also, of course, did Hot Ones. In the great R&B tradition of creating songs to make love to, what are the most essential ingredients to a freak anthem? Okay, I want to answer your question. But the pepper's dancing on my tongue.
Starting point is 01:03:33 Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's the show. Okay, the good ingredients to a good lovemaking song. First of all, you need to have that good bass line, that good drum pattern, so you can be on rhythm. You got to match the strokes. And then, like, you just got to have somebody that can really sing. All right, so I'm going to get some of that, too. I think they're sending some up here on Monday so we can try that hottie sauce. Because you know I love a good hot sauce.
Starting point is 01:03:57 I love all my food. Super spicy. All right, well, that is your rumor report. All right, thank you, Miss Yee. Charlamagne, who you giving that donkey to? Man, there's a dude named Brandon Fellas. He was a member of Owlcracker, okay, the domestic terrorist organization known as Vanilla Isis, who stormed the Capitol.
Starting point is 01:04:13 And remember yesterday we talked about people snitching on themselves? Oh, this is a good one. All right. This is a good one. We'll talk to him for a couple hours. We'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:04:22 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. According to a survey, over two-thirds of Americans are planning to travel this summer. This means that airlines, restaurants, and more have been ramping up their hiring. Who do they turn to? ZipRecruiter. ZipRecruiter's technology finds qualified candidates for your job,
Starting point is 01:04:41 and you can easily invite your top choices to apply. And right now, you can try Z your top choices to apply and right now you can try zip recruiter for free at ziprecruiter.com slash breakfast this is america there is no question that there are problems in this country between police and community yes you are a donkey the latest on that police killing of a black. Now to new developments in the deadly spa shooting rampage. It was a really bad day for him, and this is what he did. And so we are in a state of emergency. Okay, white supremacist violence is and always has been the number one threat to our society.
Starting point is 01:05:18 But I'm also very proud that my wife is white. The Breakfast Club, bitches. All right, Charlene, please tell me, why was I your donkey of the day? Well, donkey of the day for Friday, October 15th goes to Brandon Fellows. Who is Brandon Fellows? He is a member of Vanilla ISIS,
Starting point is 01:05:36 a soldier in the domestic terrorist organization known as Al Cracker. Okay, one of the many traitors to this country who attempted a coup on January 6th. We have to remind ourselves often that on January 6th, an attempted coup of this country happened in America, treated it like a bunch of kids getting a little too ready at spring break. OK, by the way, three things that have to happen and have to happen. OK, in order for democracy, as we know it, to be preserved. One, you have to protect voting rights. Currently not happening. Two, Biden and them have to pack the Supreme Court. Currently not happening.
Starting point is 01:06:05 Three, you have to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law any and everyone involved in the attempted coup of this country on January 6th. You have to make an example out of those people simply because you have to show the next domestic terrorist don't even think about it. Okay? Historically, people have gotten executed
Starting point is 01:06:23 for attempted coups in other countries. Dang. But here in America, the home of the so-called brave and i say so-called brave because you have to have courage to do the three things i just mentioned and the people currently in power in government just simply like that they just do democrats are cowards it is what it is at this point and that cowardice will hurt them at the polls but back to the matter at hand brandon fellows you know people talk about how stupid some of these trump supporters appear like some of them come off as real idiots unintelligent ignorant dense brainless and if you feel this way you're probably right you could absolutely bet on it
Starting point is 01:06:55 and i think it's a pretty safe wager because brandon fellows decided to testify on his own behalf in regards to the attempted coup. He had a bond hearing on Tuesday, and a federal judge warned him he could be opening himself up to perjury or even obstruction of justice if he testified on his own behalf, and that he would likely be going back to jail. Well, regardless of what the judge told him, what do you think happened? What do you think happened? What do you think happened? Let's go to MSNBC. Y'all chris haggs for the report please for instance brandon fellows he's a 26 year old from albany new york he faces a felony charge for obstruction in connection with
Starting point is 01:07:35 the riot he showed up to the january 6th insurrection dressed like this wearing a fake red beard and a usa coat so that guy was in court court this week trying to get his bond status revoked, and against the advice of the judge, he chose to represent himself. He then accidentally admitted to two additional felonies. In cross-examination, a lawyer for the government got him to admit under oath that he had climbed into the Capitol through a broken window and that he had tried to get the previous judge on the case removed by putting that judge's wife's phone number as his emergency contact, and that he had missed court-ordered mental health and drug testing appointments. At the end of this nearly
Starting point is 01:08:09 two-hour episode, the judge in question told him, quote, you've engaged in a pattern of behaviors that shows contempt for the criminal justice system. Judge ordered Brandon Fellows back into the custody of a D.C. jail. In the wise words of Pat Pooose's queen, are you dumb? Okay, drop on the clues bombs for Remy Ma. You already got a felony charge of obstruction of an official proceeding in connection with the January 6th Capitol riots. And now you added two new felonies because you did exactly what the judge told you not to do. You had pretrial release but got ordered back into custody in June after repeated violations. Here's the thing.
Starting point is 01:08:47 Why would you respect and listen to your government after you did an attempted coup in this country and nothing really happened to you? Of course he has contempt for the criminal justice system. He thinks he's above the law. Okay, he thinks y'all all a bunch of suckers. And he can't wait until the next one is organized on Facebook so he can be there. By the way, Brandon Fellows decided to represent himself after he had spent the previous two weeks in the D.C.'s jail law library. Have you ever heard the saying, just because you go to church doesn't mean you're a Christian? Likewise, stepping into a garage doesn't make you a car. Well, the same thing with the D.C. law library.
Starting point is 01:09:22 Just because you go there for a couple of weeks doesn't make you a lawyer ready to represent yourself in court. But nobody told Brandon Fellows that. Also, when they tell you that you have the right to remain silent, take advantage of that. Let your attorney speak for you, even if the attorney is court appointed. I mean, hey, it's better to remain silent and be thought a domestic terrorist than to speak and to remove all doubt. Please let Chelsea Handler give Brandon Fellows the biggest hee-haw. Hee-haw, hee-haw. That is way too much Dan Mayonnaise. Also, tonight on Comedy Central, on my late night show, The God's Honest Truth, we discuss how social media helped to bring all these idiots together.
Starting point is 01:10:02 Okay, and how it helps to continue to bring all these idiots together. So tune in 10 PM tonight on comedy central. All right. Well, thank you for that donkey of the day. Now, when we come back, comedian and actor,

I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Starting point is 01:11:53 Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe owned country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that?
Starting point is 01:12:08 Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 01:12:36 Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 01:13:31 We are The Breakfast Club. We got a special guest in the building. Yes, indeed. Your brother, Jamie Smooth. Hey. Living up to his name this morning. That's a clean ensemble you got on there, sir. He's always clean, though, brother.
Starting point is 01:13:40 He's always clean. It ain't too late for y'all, man. He do look a lot better than us. He's clean. He always looks clean. It ain't too late, though, man. Well, I was telling y'all, I was really excited because Curb Your Enthusiasm is coming back on October 24th.
Starting point is 01:13:56 I cannot wait. Man, let me tell you. We had, you know what? Shooting in this climate has been nuts overall, but they kept it real, organized, and safe, man. The protocols were kicked in, and we had a good time, man. Is any of that on the season? Because y'all address what's happening a lot of times in society in general. So is that on the new season?
Starting point is 01:14:18 I can't tell you everything, but I can tell you that it's kind of based on this promo we got. It's like the world has changed, but Larry hasn't. And I know it's kind of based on this promo we got you know it's like the world has changed but Larry hasn't and I think that's a great way amazing that's a good premise though like when you're an older man
Starting point is 01:14:32 who came up in a certain era right and now the world has changed around you like well I can't say this now I can't do this now like that's a lot of people
Starting point is 01:14:41 it's a lot of people well how do you deal with that now for yourself in comedy? Because you're doing Caroline's this weekend. Oh, yeah, man You grew up in a time where you could say anything on it. Oh my gosh It's over oh man, it's a weird place to be for comedians But it's like I guess it's based on your style my boxing now make fights You know I'm saying so I gotta have a unique style that I've stuck to the whole time it works for me on your style. It's kind of like boxing. Styles make fights. So I kind of have
Starting point is 01:15:05 a unique style that I've stuck to the whole time. It works for me. But it's definitely not easy trying to be PC and trying to because you are used to it the era you grew up in. That's right. Even the Dave stuff has been in the news right now. And it's rough for comedians
Starting point is 01:15:22 right now. Damien Wayne said Dave Chappelle is freeing the comedy slaves. Do you feel like you're being held back in any way? right now and it's it's rough for comedians right now you know but but damon wayne said dave chappelle is freeing the comedy slaves do you feel like you're being held back in any way i guess i i i'm not i i go back to the styles your style whatever your style is man that's what you your audience is that's what your brand is you know but i say this we got to be very careful in this climate in this world and how we proceed with comedy evolution of comedy because here's the hard part you you're watching a comedian on stage you're loving him you know he gets backlash now here's here's the thing that's tricky if the
Starting point is 01:15:58 comedian gets backlash right what happens when the camera spins around and now it's on the audience and y'all laughing you crying you crying you begging on you you stomping your feet your girl hugging you he's tripping you know i mean yeah do you get fired because you're in the audience laughing that's true see that that's the hard part and we gotta be i think we gotta pull back a little bit and figure out how we can move forward and understand the purpose of humor, satire, everything across the board. The purpose of it is to make light of it. Is that nervous, though, being a comedian? Do you nervously doing interviews and you say the wrong thing?
Starting point is 01:16:38 You have so many jobs, so many movies, so many sitcoms. You say something. You're an Emmy winner now. Congratulations. I think that's with anything. You guys have that issue. If you see. Every day.
Starting point is 01:16:47 Every day you guys have to do it, but you got to live, man. You got to live. And a lot of people know your intent. You've been working in this business for so long and people can vouch for you and know. In case you slip up and something doesn't come out the way that.
Starting point is 01:16:59 It happens. Yeah, it happens. You know what I was going to ask you? On Curb Your Enthusiasm, have there ever been times because the content on there can be really funny. Like, I remember there was a kid that loved drawing swastikas on an episode. And even on the last season, right, Chaz Boner was on there.
Starting point is 01:17:14 Yeah. And had got this penis, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And knocked things over with his penis because he got it too big. Yeah. And so even things like that that have there ever been times when you guys are like maybe we can't do that or you know what you're gonna always have those moments on curb man because but but again it's anchored in it's a brand and i still say you
Starting point is 01:17:36 you are what you eat that's right so you know you watch what you love and you know we we just in this weird place but society is nuts, man. And you don't know where it's going to go. It's not sustainable. They were witches, so-called witches on stakes back in the day. And they believed in all this different stuff. So, you know. It's not sustainable, though, because humans will always fail purity tests.
Starting point is 01:17:57 Yes, exactly. So it's one of these things, man, where you just hope that the evolution of the world, man, goes in a direction that is progressive, that we trust each other on some level, that nothing we say or nothing we do will mean any harm to you,
Starting point is 01:18:15 you know? And I know there are people who do mean harm to you, but there has to be a balance there where you understand the purpose of what we are doing
Starting point is 01:18:23 and what the purpose of entertainment is. Congrats on the Emmy win, too too brother man that was that was fun man i had two things going on that night one i was opening the show so i had to open a monologue and i was the first presenter so being a professional i'm thinking about making sure the show opens up great and presenting the first award you know i wasn't even thinking about the nomination while I was because I just wanted to make sure I did a great job. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll host the damn Emmys but I wanted to make sure I killed it.
Starting point is 01:18:51 So I went up there and did my job. And then I went and sat down in the audience, you know, and waited for the nominations or whatever. But it wasn't on. It was an honor to be nominated. But if I had lost it would have just been a great night. I would have been happy I did a great job opening the show because it's really about everybody. You know, I'm not
Starting point is 01:19:08 going to let myself be singled out as someone who wants to, you know. What was the feeling? Were you surprised? Was it because you said you weren't even thinking about it? I wasn't. I wasn't. It was kind of gone. And then my category came up and then my writing partner, Miles, was like, he tapped me on, he's like, yo, did you write a speech
Starting point is 01:19:24 in case you win? I said yo, did you write a speech in case you went? I said, I did not write a speech. Damn, so you really didn't even think you had a chance. But it's not even that. I just know, you know, sometimes you got to go off instinct. I'm going to miss people from the heart. Thank people who I knew were instrumental in my movement. And that was kind of it, man.
Starting point is 01:19:40 And left there with something inspiring for people. But I also let them know that, look, man, this is an honor to be on this stage. But it's also something that, you know, it's your pace car. You know, it's your checkpoint. And I said, man, I thank you guys for even considering me to be nominated. Nothing changed mentally?
Starting point is 01:19:56 Like Fat Joe said, yesterday's price is not today's price. You didn't feel like the price went up? Oh, man, because I consider myself the tortoise. You know the tortoise and the hare story? That's right. I consider myself the tortoise, man. I donise on the hair story. That's right. I'll consider myself the tortoise man I don't tell them I don't step on toes. I don't burn bridges I just kind of move man in a certain way certain mentality and that's the only way I know how to do it man and
Starting point is 01:20:13 I just focus on every bright spot and I try to learn from every bad spot and I just try to make sure it's fun Man, you know and then that's what that's the energy you got you to have to have in what we do. Once you become abrasive or demanding for something, like you deserve something, it changes who you are and it changes how people see you. That's just never been me. You also have a daughter, right? Yes.
Starting point is 01:20:36 How old is she now? My daughter's 27, man, and she works for me. Oh, wow. What up, Jerrica? That's dope. She works for me. How was that? How was that having your daughter working for you?
Starting point is 01:20:43 Is that good or bad? Because sometimes you can't really boss around your kids like that. Dad, dad, shut up. That's dope. That's very dope. How was that? How was that having your daughter working for you? Is that good or bad? Because sometimes you can't really boss around your kids like that. Dad, Dad, shut up. Papa, I think it is though. You realize how dumb your ass is. How old your ass is when a young person is telling you how to do your social media and how to press this button.
Starting point is 01:20:57 I could be on my iPhone and she'd be like, no, Daddy. I'm like, oh, okay, here you go. But I think it's cool to have her close. She's smart, man. She's, you know, she knows what she's doing. And it helps, you know, having someone around you who cares, cares like that about you. Makes you trust.
Starting point is 01:21:14 Yeah. Yeah. It keeps you going. All right. We got more with JB Smooth when we come back. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody.
Starting point is 01:21:23 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with JB Smooth. Charlamagne. How did you stay in stand-up shape during the pandemic? I didn't. I was off a whole year and a half. I didn't do a damn thing.
Starting point is 01:21:36 It's his diet. A year and a half, man. I was off, man. I'm telling you. How did you work out? Did you work out in front of your kids, your wife? Your wife? That's why you started the podcast?
Starting point is 01:21:44 The podcast helps so much because you really because it's really about hearing yourself. When you're in that damn pandemic and you're sitting in that damn house, you can't hear yourself. You're worrying about stuff more so than anything. But also being off allowed me to see better about what's going on and almost see what people are looking for. Now you're performing in New York City, New York, Carolina. So New York got a lot of different rules and regulations.
Starting point is 01:22:07 I'm sure you heard what's going on with Kyrie. Oh, yeah, man. What are your thoughts on that? Oh, man. You know, people drive their own vehicle, man. I think you have to drive your own vehicle. I think people are going to go the way they want to go, man. They have to judge what's too much for them.
Starting point is 01:22:24 Yeah, I think it's his choice. I'm not mad at yeah it's his choice he has to do what he what he feels man and being human sometimes allows you uh options on what you specifically want for yourself oh you landed specifically just now but he act like brothers with lists like us can't land them kind of words, bro. For real. You got to work on yours, bro. I still say pacifically. Pacifically, like the ocean. I heard a few. I heard a few, bro. You know that's one of the top ten most,
Starting point is 01:22:56 they say that's one of the top ten most difficult words for brothers like us with a list to say, specifically. Say it? Shut up. Don't misprime. Yeah, you got to work on it, man. Let me tell you. But yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:08 That's why I'm able to do these commercials and do voiceover work so well is, you know, you got to find two. You got country boys, man. I'm a country boy, too. I get it. Did you ever have to work on it? They sent me to a speech class one time,
Starting point is 01:23:21 and she had me putting my tongue behind my teeth when I say S words. No, it's just enunciation man and just hear yourself i don't like how cocky you i feel like i really don't but you know we you know we just evolve man i always talk about how we we evolve man say status issue what what if you said. If you said it right, I might say it. Now, what is up with you and these RVs? If you said it correctly, I might be able to repeat it. Now, what's up with you and these RVs? You in the RVs? God damn right, man.
Starting point is 01:23:54 Let me tell you something, man. You go camping? No. It's three things now. Okay. One is camping. One is RVing. And one is resort RVing.
Starting point is 01:24:02 Bring it down. All right. Now, here you go. Campsites are very difficult. People are going to be in tents. People are going to be in little RVs. People it down. Now, here you go. Camp sites are very difficult. People are going to be in tents. People are going to be in little RVs. People are going to be in big RVs. But if you want the glam, now I do RV resorts.
Starting point is 01:24:13 What the hell is an RV resort? It's just like a regular resort, but it's only RVs. You put RVs in there. You got a parking area. You got an outdoor kitchen. You got all the goodies, man. Sometimes you got a pergola. You can just hang out. Wow. it is amazing it's like riding around in
Starting point is 01:24:30 a New York apartment really it's that small and like you know why not fly and get a hotel did you like being on the road and man it's really cool to drive your own like our RV is a 38 footer. We drive to the RV resort. It's gated. You get inside. They got a clubhouse. They got a gym. They got three or four pools,
Starting point is 01:24:50 cutting greens, every tennis, everything you want. You can rent a golf cart and ride around the whole property. It's huge. Sometimes like 20, 30 acres. You can have fun,
Starting point is 01:25:00 enjoy, meet other RVers. Just enjoy yourself. How many black RVers are there? Do you see too many black people? Yeah, I see some, but I would consider myself the number one black damn RVer. I'll tell you that much.
Starting point is 01:25:11 It sounds like a movie. That sounds like fun, though. No, it is. I'm telling you, if you got one, you got one, and you got one, and we all said,
Starting point is 01:25:18 we're going to roll out and go upstate, and you got your family and yours, your family, your family and yours. I got my family and mine, and we riding. Man, I'm going to tell you something.
Starting point is 01:25:27 Ain't nothing more fun than that, man. I'm telling you. You get there, y'all roll up. The party just rolled up. You got Netflix inside your RV. You got all your goodies in there. You got a fridge full of food. You got a little grill you can put outside and grill with.
Starting point is 01:25:40 There's a shower in the RV too? Oh, hell yeah. Full bathroom, man. There's no ishing in the RV though, right? Huh? There's no itching in the RV. What you got to do? You got to clean it out then. Yeah, you have a clean out. You have a hose that goes
Starting point is 01:25:54 on. It comes out. You put it in the ground. At the resort, it's luxury, baby. You don't even have to touch nothing. Come on, man. Sounds very free. I don't want to give you a full tutorial right now, but you get one and come to cali you get one we ride up to yosemite and we'll just kick it man i'll show you all the ins and outs don't worry about that there's no questions just answers to our leading up to a special
Starting point is 01:26:14 you know what i do want it to lead to a special but i i will i will say man after doing it so many years man i i this may this might be my last tour really yeah I don't want to be doing this at 60 I don't have the patience or the energy I want to create some different memories and I think you know it's going to be one of those things where producing directing I think that's in my future and I think i have a lot to give visually and from doing it so long i think i know exactly what what works as far as film tv and i think i learned a lot and then and that's why you know even like when i got on snl i did it for uh to make my resume look better to get in certain doors to get in certain meetings to be around certain people
Starting point is 01:27:04 you know how many great amazing hosts i met just working on SNL as a writer? Even though I was a performer in a stand-up, and I would love to have been a cast member, but I knew that even getting in the building, I had the opportunity to make moves. Next thing you know, I'm doing a warm-up for two years. Next thing you know, I'm in monologues. I'm in a sketch here and there.
Starting point is 01:27:24 I'm a damn writer. I took the job as a writer, but of course they knew I could do other things, but I think that's what you got to do. 30-something years in, I just think that there's a lot more you can do with your brand, and it's not easy doing stand-up. And in this climate, it's a lot. In this
Starting point is 01:27:40 climate, the one thing that's weird about it is you can't see smiles through the mask. You know, while you're on stage, you're like, climate. And the one thing that's weird about it is you can't see smiles through the mask. You know, while you're on stage you're like, you're starting to bit and you're wondering if it's going right the way because you can't see like someone smirk a little bit like they on the premise of the joke. So you don't get that. And also when you wear the mask, the laughter is muffled. You're used to feeling it on your skin a certain way and you're not feeling that on your skin no more.
Starting point is 01:28:04 Like, oh man, you feel the reverberation of their laughter and you know, is muffled. And you're used to feeling it on your skin a certain way. And you're not feeling that on your skin no more. Like, oh man, you feel the reverberation of their laughter and their, you know, you feel their energy. And we appreciate you for joining us today, brother. Y'all dope as always.
Starting point is 01:28:14 Caroline's this weekend. Caroline's this weekend. Curb Your Enthusiasm the 24th is back. We back, man. Two shows on Friday, two shows Saturday and one on Sunday.
Starting point is 01:28:21 So get your tickets and we appreciate you, brother. Yeah, man. Good to see you, man. It's really good to see you in the flesh. So we got things that's coming in a row, man. Herb, Real Husband of Hollywood's coming back. Oh, that's right. Spider-Man's coming out. So it's good, man. It's good that these
Starting point is 01:28:33 You gonna be in Spider-Man? Yeah, I was in the last Spider-Man. Oh, you talking about Into the Multiverse? No! The movie. Far From Home. I was in Far From Home and now I'm in the new one also. Why the hell I don't remember Jimmy's movie, Far From Home? Yeah, I was in it, man. I played the teacher.
Starting point is 01:28:49 Me and Martin Storm. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, okay, okay. See, what happened is we didn't have no damn powers. So he don't remember that. He don't remember that. We had the power of knowledge. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:29:01 Far From Home. We had a part way longer than Donald Rollins. Far From Home and Donald Rollins part No I don't think Donald made the movie I think Donald got cut What movie was that From Donald Rollins
Starting point is 01:29:10 It was Spiderman But I don't think I don't know It was Spiderman But he He made it He made it He made it
Starting point is 01:29:16 Look at the sky And that was it Oh got you Got you Got you Okay Well the J.B. Smoove Is the Breakfast Club
Starting point is 01:29:20 Good morning I love y'all fools The Breakfast Club Yes it's the world's Most dangerous morning Show the Breakfast Club. Good morning. I love y'all booze. The Breakfast Club. Yes, it's the world's most dangerous morning show, The Breakfast Club. Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, DJ Enver. And it's time for the Rumor Report.
Starting point is 01:29:34 It's New Music Friday. It's about time. What's going on? Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is the Rumor Report. Talk to them. With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:29:50 Well, I'm sure y'all know Young Thug's album is out today, Punk. And we do have some previews for you of that. Of course, J. Cole, his partner, is on the album. It's dressed. That's Dressed with J. Cole and T. Shine. Also, Gun is on the album. Future, Juice WRLD, Post Malone, and A$AP Rocky. That song is tough. That song, Bubbly with Drake and Travis Scott. This feels like Thug's festival album.
Starting point is 01:30:37 Like he made this album for those festival crowds. Like that record, the Bubbly, the Livin' It Up record. Tough tunes, but I can really see them ringing off at festivals. Right, and he got some slower, slowed it down in the beginning too. Die slow, stupid, asking. All right, now Doja Cat's on the album as well, and so is Mac Miller, Day Before.
Starting point is 01:30:55 Since a kid I've been a dresser, thousand dollars. I was missing my diamonds green piece at Port-A-Potty, whoa, yeah. Bitch talk to him while I'm sleeping, yeah, yeah. Swimming in the land like deep, yeah, yeah. All right, so make sure y'all listen to that today. Also, Mac Miller's Faces is on streaming services. That album's from 2014.
Starting point is 01:31:13 Dog on SNL tomorrow, too. Yep. And Ken the Man, What's My Name? Is this a whole album? It's 10 songs, so yes. So that's out today, too. All right, now SZA has also announced a series of intimate performances that will take place in November.
Starting point is 01:31:27 It starts off in Houston November 3rd, and the last one is in Vegas, day in Vegas, November 14th. All right, now Jonah Hill has asked for fans to please refrain from commenting on his body, good or bad. He said it's not helpful and it doesn't feel good. He said, I know you mean well, but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body, good or bad. He said, it's not helpful and it doesn't feel good. He said, I know you mean well, but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body, good or bad. I want you to politely let you know it's not helpful. It doesn't feel good. Much respect. I don't think I, he had previously addressed his weight. A few months ago, a publication posted pictures of him shirtless at a
Starting point is 01:31:58 beach. And he said, I don't think I ever took my shirt off in a pool until I was in my mid thirties, even in front of family and friends. Probably would have happened sooner if my childhood insecurities weren't exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by press and interviewers. So the idea that the media tries to play me by stalking me while surfing and printing photos like this and it can't faze me anymore is dope. I'm 37 and finally love and accept myself. Oh, he's absolutely right. But telling social media to not comment on something is telling social media to comment on something. I think he also means interviewers and people he knows.
Starting point is 01:32:30 Even if it's something positive, he's like, just don't even. You know how sometimes people will be like, oh, you look so much better. Oh, you lost a lot of weight. He doesn't even want people to do that to him. Great sentiment, but they're not going to listen to him on social media. All right. Well, they've been warned and told.
Starting point is 01:32:44 All right. Pink Floyd, the been warned and told. All right. Pink Floyd, the co-founder Roger Waters, he's 78 years old, and he just married a 43-year-old woman who was his former driver. He announced it on Instagram. Camilla Chavez is her name. They were dating for around five years. And he's worth $310 million, by the way. He said, I actually met her at one of my concerts a couple of years ago.
Starting point is 01:33:05 She worked in transportation. She was driving the car that was taking me at the Coachella Festival. He played that in 2016. He said, I was in one place for two weeks, and there were many transfers between the hotel and the venue. My security sat in the front with her, and they talked while I stayed in the back. I don't know. Something about her attracted me. And then one day he said, excuse me.
Starting point is 01:33:22 And he said, did someone ever tell you that you have beautiful cheekbones? And that was the beginning of it, that reaction. By the way, she's a black woman. So when you see the picture of them, she's 43, he's 78, but one of the founders of Pink Floyd. Complimenting random things works, right? Yeah, your beautiful cheekbones. And when you compliment things that people don't normally compliment?
Starting point is 01:33:40 Yeah, I think so. You can't be like, excuse me, you have a beautiful fat ass. You can't say something like that. No, no, no, like that that was the 90s right you cannot do that now i love your collarbones clavicle that's what it's called clavicle yeah all right gabrielle union says that she used to have really low self-esteem and at one point um she wanted to really be a video vixen here's what she said and when my internship ended they were, would you ever consider being like one of our clients and us representing you? And mind you, I had such low self esteem. I wanted to be a video host so bad. Like, I didn't want to be in movies. I didn't want to be in commercials. Now they are
Starting point is 01:34:20 video vixens, IG models. Yeah, but I wanted to be like a hot bitch, except I lacked all of the necessary accoutrement. I mean, for Gabby's age, I can see why she wanted to be a video vixen. Video vixens, you know, were considered a thing back then, right? Yeah. They looked like they were living the life.
Starting point is 01:34:37 Yeah, they got pretty famous. And this was on the JJ Reddick and Tommy Alters, the old man and the three podcast that she also talked about uh auditioning for the california love video tupac like i was literally you know auditioning for like california love video with tupac and 20 of his so you fell into a really successful acting career when you wanted to be a video yeah trying to be in music i was like let me try like you know my hand did acting and I have a photographic
Starting point is 01:35:05 memory and memorizing Saved by the Bell scripts, not that hard. So I started booking things right away and they were like, this is something. Well, good for her. And look at how successful she's been in her career. But you never know what life has for you or what God has for you.
Starting point is 01:35:21 So to my guy Tommy and JJ Reddick, Tommy's my guy. Good white people right there. All right. Well, that is your rumor report. Mm-hmm. Now we got... What are you laughing for? Because I got to lie to the people and tell them we got the People's Choice mix coming
Starting point is 01:35:35 up as if Envy didn't leave. Well, what do you want to hear? What Envy left. Oh, you know what? Adele has some new music out today. You think he's going to put that in the mix? Nope. Damn.
Starting point is 01:35:43 Anything else? You want me to say no to you? That's a big deal. What about the new song with Summer Walker and JT? I know we've been playing that this morning. That's playing at 9 o'clock because it's the iHeartRadio, whatever stimulus package they got going on. So that's going to play at 9 o'clock anyway, right?
Starting point is 01:35:55 Right? Yep. Yeah. What else do we want to hear? I don't know. Huh. Anyway. Make a request.
Starting point is 01:36:01 If you guys have a request, just hit up at DJ Envy and also put up a red flag. There's a cap. Exactly. Any request we tell y'all to do, that's absolutely cap, all right? We need you to put a red flag and a blue cap. People's Choice Mix coming up next. It's The Breakfast Club. The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:36:19 Your mornings will never be the same. Angela here. Don't you wish everything was as easy as getting quality coverage from the General Insurance?
