Episode Date: January 21, 2020

Today on the show we opened up the phone lines to see what our listeners thought about Gervonta Davis gifting his baby mom gifts for her birthday while in a relationship. Starting point is 00:00:00 Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:00:16 What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. We need help! That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast
Starting point is 00:00:46 Post Run High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, y'all. Niminy here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Executive produced by Questlove, The Story Pirates, and John Glickman, Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone.
Starting point is 00:01:30 The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did
Starting point is 00:01:45 the same thing. Check it. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records because in order to make history you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I get more nervous in this room than anywhere else.
Starting point is 00:02:19 It's on your radio right now. Do you know how to pop that coochie for a girl? There you go. It's the world's most dangerous one to show. Cut the cameras, I'm out of here. I'm not in Greece. What kind of show is this?
Starting point is 00:02:29 Let's not listen to this show. The Breakfast Club with DJ Envy, the captain of this bitch. With Angela Yee, the only one who can keep these guys in check. With Charlamagne Tha God.
Starting point is 00:02:38 I'm a lovable asshole. And this is The Breakfast Club, bitches. Good morning, Angela Yee. Good morning, D-Zambie. What the hell? Charlamagne was popping. Peace to the planet. It's Tuesday! Somebody stole my headphones, man. And the funny part is that you walk in this studio and act surprised. First of all, they're not even your headphones. That's what's really crazy.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Who's talking over there? Is that Angela Yee? Is that you, Yee? Those are my headphones that I let you borrow. That's not Yee. Yee, is that you? Anyway, stop saying somebody stole your headphones. Somebody stole my headphones.
Starting point is 00:03:27 That's crazy. Somebody stole... Either way, you're both back in surprise when you work with a bunch of niggas. And that's what N-Words do. They steal. They went in the box and took it and didn't put it back. They just walked away with their headphones? It was a holiday weekend, too.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Of course they're going to steal on Martin Luther King. Of course they're going to steal from another black man on Martin Luther King Jr.'s day. His weekend. Goodness gracious. That's what N-Words do. Damn it. What's wrong with y'all? Y'all are crazy.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Amber, you used to leave those headphones just laying around all willy-nilly like it didn't matter. No. Dramos and Dan would always, our producers, would put the headphones away from me. You can't put your headphones away? They just usually did it for me. Well. Goodness gracious. Good job.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Now you owe me headphones. You are producer headphones. I gave producer money for headphones. Good job. Now you owe me headphones. You are producer headphones. I gave producer money for headphones, but damn. Well, how was everybody's weekend, man? Well, I had an extended weekend only because Friday I couldn't speak at all. I didn't give you money then? No, you didn't. Oh, I got to give Dan some money.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Why do you lie? I thought I gave him money. He might have told me a price, but I just didn't give him the money yet. But go ahead. I had a birthday party on Thursday, but I already had been losing my voice, and I completely lost my voice. So I didn't make it in on Friday. But then Friday I was in L.A.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Yeah, we were all in L.A. for the I Heart Our Podcast Award. Yeah, we got an award for Best Pop Culture Podcast. I really couldn't speak that day. No, not at all. But then I went to New Orleans, and my voice is now finally starting to come back. But shout out to everybody who I saw. It was 50 Cent and Jeezy doing me and Larry Murrow's birthday party in New Orleans. And Ida Rodriguez and Shante Ray.
Starting point is 00:04:55 And shout out to them. They flew out just to come to the party. They're comedians. They're part of Tiffany Haddish's They Ready series. You got to fix your voice, because I had no idea what you said. I heard, like, parts. I heard New Orleans, and then I heard comedians. And you heard those weren't your headphones.
Starting point is 00:05:11 I did hear that. I definitely heard that. Now, over the weekend, I jetted back from L.A. Charlamagne had me scared, which she was right this time, because as soon as I landed, I took an earlier flight. It was snowing like crazy, and the flight that I was supposed to be on actually got canceled. It didn't make it. So I made it back.
Starting point is 00:05:28 I flew out on the reddit. I landed at 4 p.m. in the afternoon in L.A. And I was going to stay the night. And I was like, nah. Because my driver told me before he dropped me off at the airport, he was like, it's supposed to be real bad. So I flew out on the 11.55 p.m. flight out of L.A. Yeah, I got out of L.A. at 6 in the morning.
Starting point is 00:05:44 And I just relaxed. I watched the Aaron of L.A. Yeah, I got out of L.A. at 6 in the morning. And I just relaxed. I watched the Aaron Hernandez documentary. Did you guys see that? No. Yo, they had one on oxygen like last year. But it's a different one. It's the same thing. All the information after this one is in the same exact one.
Starting point is 00:05:56 He's gay. He suffers from CTE. He was killing people beforehand. Like, literally everything. But I think they had a lot of audio from his phone call. They had it in the Oxygen one, too. Well, I didn't see the Oxygen one. I seen the Netflix one.
Starting point is 00:06:07 It was pretty good. And also, I seen Bad Boys 3. Bad Boys 3 was amazing. Can we talk about it now since it's made $100 million? Yes, we can talk about it. Drop one of Clues Bar's with Bad Boys 3. The reason I love Bad Boys 3 is because Will Smith and Martin Lawrence leaned into being old. They didn't run from it.
Starting point is 00:06:24 They wasn't like Tom Cruise where he out here still trying to look young and dating young girls in the movie. Like, they leaned into being old heads, and that's what made the movie amazing to me. Yeah, the movie was very, very good. I loved it.
Starting point is 00:06:35 I really liked the movie. I loved it. It was great. I mean, it was action-packed. They already have a part four coming. Part four, definitely. I can see a part four happening because I see...
Starting point is 00:06:42 Well, they set it up for that. Yeah, of course. They set it up for that. Yeah, so... God damn it. I didn't see it. It's in four happening. Well, they set it up for that. Yeah, of course. They set it up for that. God damn it. I didn't see it. It's in the news. They don't know.
Starting point is 00:06:50 They said that there's a part four coming. I'm not talking about that. She didn't catch it. God damn it. Just me and you. You just said we could talk about it. We have to do our lives. You gave away the whole twist of the movie. This guy is crazy.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Jesus Christ. Goodness gracious. Leave it up to you to sabotage a black movie. Well, you know the 49ers and the Chiefs are going to make it to the Super Bowls. Did you know that? Yeah. I didn't ruin that for you? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Maybe you didn't watch the game. All right, well, let's get the show cracking. Front page is what we talk about. I guess we would have talked about that. But now we can talk about cultural appropriation. We'll tell you what brand has now apologized for that. We got to get you something, some tea or something. I'm going to get some right now.
Starting point is 00:07:24 All right. We'll get into that next. Keep it locked something. I'm going to get some right now. All right. We'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Let's get in some front page news. Now, Kansas City beat the Titans 35-24. San Francisco beat the Packers 37-20. So, in the Super Bowl, Kansas City versus the Niners. All right. Who you got, Yee? I'm going to say the Niners. All right.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Charlemagne? Probably Kansas City Chiefs. Yeah, I think the Chiefs. Kansas City Chiefs put up a lot of points. They got a very fast-paced offense. You can't stop them on offense. Now what else we talking about, Yee? Well, since we're talking about Kansas City, two people are now dead,
Starting point is 00:08:05 including the gunman, and 15 people injured in Kansas City. There was a shooting outside of a nightclub on Sunday night. That gunman did start shooting at people before he was actually gunned down by a security guard. This happened outside the Nine Ultra Lounge. There were several hundred people there. They were gathering, celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs Conference Championship. And it was the first time that they were able to participate in the Super Bowl in 50 years.
Starting point is 00:08:30 So, unfortunate situation. They said the gunmen had actually gotten into it with somebody inside of the club. And then once outside, started shooting. It's so crazy when celebrations turn into those type of affairs. Because you're there to celebrate. You're there to be happy. Why would you want to end it on that type of note? Right. I guess the person got
Starting point is 00:08:46 into a confrontation inside and then took that outside. That's when they post a hug. We all on the same team. We're all Chiefs fans. We're all happy we're going to the Super Bowl for the first time in a million years. That's sad. Alright, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they are giving up their royal titles. That's going to happen sometime, I guess, in April.
Starting point is 00:09:02 And for the first time, Prince Harry has spoken about it. Here's what he had to say. The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly. It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven't always gotten it right. But as far as this goes, there really was no other option. What I want to make clear is
Starting point is 00:09:25 we're not walking away. Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the Commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible. That's right. They were told either in or out, and they chose out.
Starting point is 00:09:41 So a lot of this has to do with his own mother and just having to deal with the media and I guess he decided they wanted to have a more peaceful private life. I wonder how long it's going to take him to get used to not being royal though because this guy has never been treated like a commoner. It might be fun the first few months but when you've been raised with that level of
Starting point is 00:09:57 entitlement, eventually those old ways of wanting to be waited on hand and foot are going to kick in. People don't miss what they don't have until it's gone. You know what I mean? People don't miss what they don't have until it's gone. You know what I mean? Or people don't miss what they have until it's gone. Are people really going to treat him differently? You know, he's still going to be Prince Harry.
Starting point is 00:10:10 In Canada? Yes, probably. I doubt it. He moved to Canada. They don't know him there. They could give him a damn. I think a large part of the deal is with the media and just being under scrutiny and the racism against his wife. It's going to be worse.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Yeah. It's not going to be different. They're going to be all on him because they're going to want to see what life is like for the prince when he's not in prince mode. They're going to be worse. Yeah. It's not going to be different. They're going to be all on him because they're going to want to see what life is like for the prince when he's not in prince mode. They're going to be all over him. I just want to know, at what point does Prince Henry go to the Western Union?
Starting point is 00:10:32 Well, Prince Harry. At what point does he go to the Western Union and ask the queen for a million dollars? My goodness. At what point? He's going to get fed up at some point. My goodness.
Starting point is 00:10:40 And that's front page news. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you're upset, you need to hit this up right now. Maybe somebody stole your headphones or maybe you had a great weekend. Maybe you lost your voice. Whatever it may be, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:10:56 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country.
Starting point is 00:11:09 I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I trade my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast.
Starting point is 00:11:54 That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. Starting point is 00:14:12 Hello, who's this? You. What's up, Trav? Yee. Hey, Trav. What's up, babe? Oh, glad to see you back. Your voice sounded better.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I know, it's getting there. I think by, like, tomorrow I'll be okay. Okay, keep drinking some tea, drink some honey. I'm drinking my tea. Thanks know. It's getting there. I think by, like, tomorrow, I'll be okay. Okay. Keep drinking some tea. Drink some honey. I'm drinking my tea. Thanks for coming out, Trav. Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Oh, your party was amazing. I'm glad everybody that showed up. Barack Obama was there. I got to meet him. Michelle, got to meet her. They had a good time. What's up, Char? Peace, sis.
Starting point is 00:14:43 What's happening? I'm doing good. I'm's happening? I'm doing good. I'm doing good. Doing good. Envy. Nope. Uh-oh. Don't be ignoring me, Envy.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I told you on Friday I had something for you, and you told me to send it to you, and I hit you up to send it to you, and you don't answer me. You said you was going to give it to Taylor. Oh, sorry. What he wanted to give you, Taylor didn't want. What are you guys doing?
Starting point is 00:15:06 What is this? Some music. You got some music for me. I bet it is a sweet song. No, but it's actually catered specifically for DJ Envy from Blind Beauty. So, Envy, I want you to actually listen to it. Good luck with that. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:15:24 What's up, though, bro? But listen, so I'm calling to actually listen to it. Good luck with that. All right, cool. What's up, though, bro? But listen, so I'm calling to talk about, so I'm clearly in the wrong profession because Odell Beckham out here smacking butts, Tristan Thompson out here smacking butts. I clearly need to be an athlete. You want to get your butt smacked? Did you guys see Tristan Thompson smack the man butt?
Starting point is 00:15:42 I did see Tristan get ejected from the game for smacking that man's butt. He deserved that, though, because that man wasn't even on his team. You know what I'm saying? There's one thing when you smack somebody's butt on your team. That guy wasn't even on his team. That was a clear-cut case of flirting and sexual assault. So do you think that Tristan Thompson should be arrested like Odell? No, man.
Starting point is 00:15:58 But they were on the basketball court, so there's rules on the basketball court. You know what I mean? Well, that is a rule. I mean, I never see it in the rule book, smack a man's ass. I mean, you can't hit somebody. That's hitting somebody. So that's why you got ejected from the game.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Well, I think straight men should follow the lead of Odell Beckham and Tristan Thompson and, you know, get rid of homophobes and just start smacking men on the ass.
Starting point is 00:16:14 No, you should not. You're not going to encourage sexual assault. FYI, women don't want y'all smacking us, so I don't think other men should either. I'll smack an MV
Starting point is 00:16:21 and Charlamagne on the butt next time I see him. You going to jail? I'm going to jail. I mean, it's cool. It's cool with that next time I see him. And you're going to jail. I'm going to jail. I mean, it's cool. It's cool with that. You're going to jail. There's nothing wrong with that.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Bye, y'all. I'm sure you want to go to jail anyway. That's a vacation for you, Trav. It's a little resort. Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Rob from Atlanta. Rob, what's up, man? Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:16:40 I just hope everybody had a good Martin Luther King day. I know there was a whole lot of parties going on. I saw the flyers. Man, shut up. For the twerk contest and everything. So I just hope everybody had a good one, and now it's back to work mode. Okay. Back to work.
Starting point is 00:16:54 All right, man. Have a good one, man. Same to you guys. Thank you. Hello, who's this? Yeah, this is Will. Will, what's up? Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:17:02 I actually had two questions. I wanted to ask me if she knew of any adult scholarships. I was going back to school to get my master's. I wanted to know if she knew of any scholarships. Not off the top of my head, but they do have an app. Hold on. Let me remember the name of this
Starting point is 00:17:18 app, but you continue and I'll look for it. Okay. Second question, I guess, is for all of y'all. I wanted to know what y'all thought. I kind of had a dream about this. I think that the presidency is not made because one person, I feel like one person making a decision after this president is just, I feel like it's not right. Well, there is a cabinet. It's not supposed to be a dictatorship. Well, yeah, but I just wanted to, you know, if they would have like maybe five people
Starting point is 00:18:01 in there, two Republicans, two Democrats and and one smaller party just to kind of promote like inclusiveness and everybody kind of gets heard on their issues. You're saying it should be a team effort. One person can't be all things to all people is what you're saying. Yes. Yeah. It's like, you know, just promote the conversation because, you know, it seems like, you know, one person gets in there as one step forward, two steps back kind of thing.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Oh, just to backtrack a little, the scholarship app is called MyScolly.com. S-C-H-O-L-L-Y, MyScolly. Okay. All right, brother. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up now. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Wake morning. The Breakfast Club. Wake up, wake up. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed, we want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Good morning, it's Scotty Waddy from Broadway, New Jersey. How you doing?
Starting point is 00:19:02 What's up, bro? Get it off your chest, man. Man, I bought my son a 2008 Honda Civic Sport Injected VTEC. Congratulations to him. Mm-hmm. And he took the motor. He took the car into a flood. He blew the motor. Mm.
Starting point is 00:19:17 So as a good father, I put a motor in it. What does he do after that? Blow the motor. No. He wraps it around a pole. He won't think he's been dieseled. Don't test it. What does he do after that? Blow the motor. No, he wraps it around a pole. He won't think he's been diesel. Okay. Yesterday, he had the audacity to ask me for my car.
Starting point is 00:19:32 Did you give it to him, though? Hell no. He can't get a warm cup of hot piss from me right now. Damn it, man. Nah, I don't believe that. If your son was shivering cold, you would definitely give him a warm cup of hot piss. I don't think he wants that How are you? Well, you have a good morning, brother
Starting point is 00:19:53 Hello, who's this? What's up rich get off your chest MLK, they were yesterday, man. Down here in Miami, these guys are going crazy with these bikes. And, you know, I understand the whole deal stuff, that sounds hot stuff. But they're completely tired of the state of MLK. And when you hear MLK down in Miami, it's so walking with it. It's out of the right place.
Starting point is 00:20:19 And, you know, I'm one of those guys who used to ride with them a long time ago, and I even went to the city once to ask for a permit to at least go do this legit. And they shut it down. They won't even take the notion or thought of it anymore because of what these guys are doing. Right? I've been f***ing with y'all all day yesterday. One of them asked for my content. I'm going to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:20:41 I really wish I could understand what the hell you just talked about. We didn't hear what you said, bro. I heard something about a gun buyback and this is but by Guns down motorcycles up. I don't know. I couldn't hear hello. Who's this? Yeah, what I'm getting off your chest, bro First of all, I want to say good morning to you. Good morning Good morning to you too. Yes, sir, so, you know, let me be brief. So, I know I got this girl, right, that I, like, I pretty much grew up with or whatever.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Life, you know, happiness, stuff like that took her down one direction, took me down another direction or whatever. So, obviously, you know, we got, you know, situations that we in or whatever. But, like, you know, I'm with this girl who kind of, like, her contentment kind of, like, undermines my ambition for the most part. You feel me? Like, she just, you know what I mean? She just kind of, like, you know, she's just kind of, like, where she at, and you really don't want to grow type of deal. And, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:21:37 And it's just, like, she's not doing nothing wrong, but she don't got her mind on nothing right. You feel me? You want somebody more ambitious to match your ambition. Exactly. But I don't, you know me? You want somebody more ambitious to match your ambition. Exactly, but I don't, you know what I mean? It's just like, you know how you don't want to really, like, you know, leave on a bad note, but it's like, you know, it's like you're thinking about the
Starting point is 00:21:54 future, and you're not, she's not really there with it, and stuff, and then this girl that I grew up with, listen, man, oh my God, like, everything she got, she's the polar opposite of, she's like exactly what I'm looking for, you feel me? Like, exactly, and it's just like, you got, she's the polar opposite of, of, of, she's like exactly what I'm looking for. You feel me?
Starting point is 00:22:07 Like exactly. And it's just like, you know, I don't know. I want to like, at the end of the day, I think, you know, I want to let her off easy with it. Um, because, uh, you know, I just don't want to be stuck in that same, in that mind frame because, you know, you hang out with a person a lot, you spend a lot of time with them and then you guys, obviously you should start thinking alike. And it's just like, I'm thinking differently
Starting point is 00:22:25 and, you know, she's really not. Okay, so you're ready to break up. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I got from that. Listen, I know it sounds good
Starting point is 00:22:34 to let somebody down easy, but it doesn't always happen that way. The important thing is to be honest and obviously you're going to hurt her feelings. There's really no way
Starting point is 00:22:42 to avoid that. Right, right. But, you know, you got to like, I just felt like, you know, the path to success is a trail with a path of broken hearts. And so you just got to step on the right heart to get where you need to be at. And sometimes, you know, it just is. All right.

Starting point is 00:23:10 Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country.
Starting point is 00:23:23 I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson the First, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I create my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my god. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max.
Starting point is 00:24:18 You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. So if you love hearing real, inspiring stories from the people you know, follow, and admire, join me every week for Post Run High. It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all.
Starting point is 00:25:08 It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, what's up? This is Ramses Jha. And I go by the name Q Ward. And we'd like you to join us each week for our show Civic Cipher. That's right. Think of it as a black show for non-black people. We discuss everything from prejudice to politics to police violence,
Starting point is 00:25:37 and we try to give you the tools to create positive change in your home, workplace, and social circle. Exactly. Whether you're black, Asian, White, Latinx, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, you name it. If you stand with us, then we stand with you. Let's discuss the stories and conduct the interviews that will help us create a more empathetic, accountable, and equitable America.
Starting point is 00:25:59 You are all our brothers and sisters, and we're inviting you to join us for Civic Cipher each and every Saturday with myself, Ramses jaw, Q ward, and some of the greatest minds in America. Listen to civic cipher every Saturday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast,
Starting point is 00:26:14 or wherever you get your podcast. And my life just changed just now, man, because our producers got this thing called normalized. And it's like hearing, you can hear things in like HD and I just listened to Wendy Williams' alleged fart in HD and it sounded amazing.
Starting point is 00:26:30 My goodness. We gotta play that for the people sometime this morning. Let's get to the rumors, man. It's the Breakfast Club, by the way. Let's talk Kim Kardashian. This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee. Rumor has it. On the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:26:47 Well, Kim Kardashian has a documentary that is coming out on April 5th and they just released a trailer for Oxygen. It's called Kim Kardashian West
Starting point is 00:26:55 The Justice Project and she did say she went into this project knowing nothing and now her heart completely opened up. Here is the trailer. There is a mass incarceration problem in the United States.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Kim went to war for me. I just said, you know, use me. I wanted to help her. I started to get letters hearing the circumstances of their lives. Beginning at the age of five, I was molested by my mom's husband. My mother murdered my father. The truth was much, much sadder. Sending a child to prison who had never had a chance.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Drop all the clues bombs with Kim Kardashian. How are you going to hate on someone using their platform for good like that? I have no problem with this. And she is particularly focusing on four different inmates in this documentary. Dawn Jackson, Alexis Martin, Mamolu Stewart, and David Shepard. Listen, Kim K is doing the work. Say what you want. She's doing the work. Right, so be looking forward to that April 5th. Now,
Starting point is 00:27:51 other documentaries. Surviving Jeffrey Epstein has gotten a formal green light by Lifetime. So that documentary will be coming. I know a lot of people talk about, why just R. Kelly? Why is Lifetime just focusing on R. Kelly? So now Survetime just focusing on R. Kelly? So now Surviving Jeffrey Epstein is coming.
Starting point is 00:28:10 It's a four-hour documentary, and it will premiere this summer. Let's be clear. Lifetime is focusing on ratings and revenue. That's all they care about. So the Surviving thing is a franchise now. And I want to know what Lifetime is doing to help the victims of these crimes. Are they paying for therapy? Are they doing anything to help these people with their trauma? Are they just exploiting what happened to these people for ratings and revenue? Because that's what it seems like.
Starting point is 00:28:25 But I do feel like a lot of people got more information. You know, a lot of times things were just jokes. People didn't believe it. So you do let these women come forward and tell their stories. For some of them, it's therapeutic. Some people got reunited with the families afterward. Yeah. Like they said, they're making a lot of money off these things.
Starting point is 00:28:40 So they're helping people, and hopefully they are. And Matt, a lot of the women that was on the R. Kelly doc were complaining that, yo, they just left us high and dry. We don't feel protected out here now. So my whole thing is it's cool to do what they're doing, using the platform to get these stories out, but just don't exploit these people for ratings and revenue. Actually help these people. Because a lot of people didn't know the full story
Starting point is 00:28:57 about R. Kelly. There were people that were really rooting for him. I mean, after that, you know, he ended up going back to jail. Cases got reopened. But what about the victims, though? A lot of people pulled the music, and I think it just helps that. Now, I can't speak on what they did because I don't know. I can't say that I know
Starting point is 00:29:14 for sure what did or didn't happen afterward. I hope they are. I hope they are helping the victims of these crimes. Alright, now, Pop Smoke. He was arrested for transporting a stolen Rolls Royce. Envy, I'm hoping you could chime in on this. I'm sure you saw this story, but they said that he met the Rolls Royce owner in November at a recording studio in L.A. They got a verbal agreement.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Pop Smoke was going to use the car at a music video, and then he was going to give the owner VIP treatment at an upcoming show. He never returned the car. So that didn't happen, and then he had to report the car stolen. And then they said in December, the owner of the car noticed that Pop Smoke was using the rolls in a social media post. And it was in New York. That was for a video.
Starting point is 00:29:55 So, yes. So Pop Smoke said what he was going to do. He was using the car for a video. A month later? Yeah, just didn't know it was in New York. Pop Smoke was making too much money to be stealing no car. He's making a lot of money out there. His songs are doing well.
Starting point is 00:30:08 He's not stealing no song. We don't know car, man. So you've let people cars for videos before? I've never let anybody without me being there, no. But yes, people have asked, but I have never given anybody a car without me being there. That is true. Every video I've seen when you're a car,
Starting point is 00:30:23 then you have been driving the car. You're there. What video was it? Somebody was running down the street and he was driving. I can't remember who that was. I was in a Cala video. There was no Cala. I let Safari use my car. There you go. I let him use my car. It was Safari. That's what it was. Alright, now
Starting point is 00:30:38 Casanova, as you know, the two of them had a back and forth. So Casanova said, free pop smoke, I don't wish jail on no man. Yeah, I know he called me Trashanova. When I catch him, I'm going to knock his teeth out. Until then, Brooklyn forever. And they actually did meet for dinner after Pop Smoke was
Starting point is 00:30:53 released on bail. They squashed that beef. They squashed their beef. Which is a good thing. Shout out to both of them. Didn't let it escalate. Shout out to Brooklyn. That's good. Alright, I'm Angela Yee and that is your Rumor Report. We don't have time to play Wendy Williams' Farts in HD? We're going to do it. Don't worry.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Not now. Okay. Oh, my goodness. We got front page news. You got to hear them in HD. It's one thing. I did not know we had a program called Normalize. It's amazing.
Starting point is 00:31:14 You can hear things in HD. But you know the fact that she was talking, farting, and continued talking like it didn't even happen? That's why she gets paid a big bucks. Absolutely. She's one of the best. I don't think I can fart and talk at the same time. Can you fart and talk?
Starting point is 00:31:24 I believe you could. I've never tried it because I don't fart I can fart and talk at the same time. Can you fart and talk? I believe you could. I've never tried it because I don't fart in my clothes, so no. Can you? You can fart and talk? No. I'm sure. Because you got to breathe. Nah, I couldn't do it. I never thought about it. You stop breathing? No, because you blow out where... I don't think you could. Anyway, Front Page News is next.
Starting point is 00:31:39 What are we talking about? Let's talk about Martin Luther King Jr.'s son responding to a Donald Trump tweet on Martin Luther King Day. All right, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. This is The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:31:49 It's DJ, MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Now in football, the Chiefs beat the Titans 35-24. The 49ers beat the Packers 37-20. So, ah, Super Bowl is going to be the Kansas City Chiefs versus the 49ers. You excited for that one? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:09 I want to see that. I'm actually taking my son to his first Super Bowl. So, we're going. So, he's excited to see. He thinks it's going to be a great game. I think it's going to be a great game. You're taking your son to the Super Bowl and your team not even in it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:19 Hell no. Why? That's a waste of money. I mean, I agree. But my son, he just likes it. I tried to talk him out of it. I mean, I agree, but my son, he just likes the woods. I agree. I tried to talk him out of it. I was like, our team's not in it.
Starting point is 00:32:31 And he was like, Dad, I just want to go to the Super Bowl and experience the Super Bowl. You know what? I will experience the Super Bowl when my team experiences the Super Bowl. So when the Dallas Cowboys get there, we will be there. I told him that, too. He was like, Dad, when is that going to happen? I said, you're right. It don't matter.
Starting point is 00:32:41 Jason Garrett's one of the new coordinators. I said, you're right. Lord, that's terrible. I don't know why y'all did that. Jason Garrett is one of the new coordinators. I said you're right. Lord, that's terrible. I don't know why y'all did that. You made Jason Garrett the offensive coordinator? Please. Oh, boy. What else you got, Eve?
Starting point is 00:32:51 Well, let's talk about Martin Luther King Jr.'s son, Martin Luther King III. He was on CNN, and he was responding to Donald Trump's tweet. Now, Donald Trump tweeted out, It was exactly three years ago today, January 20th, 2017, that I was sworn into office. So appropriate that today is also MLK Junior Day. African-American unemployment is the lowest in the history of our country by far. Also, best poverty, youth, and employment numbers ever. Great. Now here is what Martin Luther King III had to say on CNN.
Starting point is 00:33:22 If we were as well off as being stated, you would see violence decreased. But every day, somewhere around this nation, particularly in communities of color, someone is being killed. More and more people are living on the streets in a trillion dollar economy. That is unacceptable. My father talked about eradicating poverty, racism, and militarism and violence. We have the capacity to do that. We just have not identified the will. But when will and capacity come together, then we will see some results.
Starting point is 00:33:54 He's got a point. If more people were doing well, crime would absolutely go down. So if you see crime, you know, still at an all-time high in a lot of these neighborhoods, it's not just because people are inherently violent. There's a lot of times these people are porn disenfranchised, and they just want to eat and they're doing what they have to do to eat. All right, now, Kamdeh Ghassan has apologized,
Starting point is 00:34:10 and that is because during the Paris Fashion Week, they dressed their white models in cornrow wigs. These wigs, by the way, look so ridiculous. I don't know if you guys had a chance to see them. Worse than Tyler Perry wigs and fall from grace? If you look on Revolve, you can see what these wigs actually look like. They're about the same. They're about the same. They're about the same.
Starting point is 00:34:28 Now, they said they were trying to basically channel Egyptian princes, and that was the whole point of the cornrow wigs. Look at the one black guy in there. He looks like he don't want to be there. He knows what the backlash is going to be on social media. Look at him. If you're watching on Revolt, look at the one black guy right there. He's like, man.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Now, the hairstylist responsible for the wig said, my inspiration for the Comme des Garcons show was Egyptian prints, a look I found truly beautiful and inspirational, a look that was an homage. Never was it my intention to hurt or offend anyone ever. If I did, I deeply apologize. Okay. All right, now Instagram is implementing a false information
Starting point is 00:35:07 warning label. What's that is? What that mean? So if you put up a photoshopped image, I guess some way, somehow they will determine whether or not it was photoshopped a lot and they can then put up a warning on that. Do filters count? It says for a lot of IG models
Starting point is 00:35:24 and influencers who previously got away with altering their images for likes. So I'm not sure how they can even determine that, but they're going to be using a combination of feedback from our community and technology. So the image is passed on to a third-party independent fact checker. If they determine that image has been altered, then there will be a false information warning message added to the post. Now, I saw people upset about this, but the truth to the matter is this kind of works because, like, you know, sometimes they Photoshop people with, you know, drugs or guns or Photoshop you in places that you aren't in or with people that you're not with.
Starting point is 00:35:58 So I think that's what that's going to protect you from. Right? Yeah, I just don't know how they can determine that at all times, you know? Like, what if you screenshot? I don't know. I just don't know how they can determine that at all times, you know? Like, what if you screenshot, I don't know. I just don't know how that works. How can you say it was Photoshopped? But, all right, well, that is your front page news. All right, thank you, Miss Ye.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Now, Javante Davis, Tank. What happened with Tank? Why are people talking about Tank? Well, some, I guess his child's mother bought her a bunch of presents, he bought her a bunch of presents for her birthday. And she said, if my baby daddy want to shut Lennox down at 1030 in the morning to show his appreciation for me being a phenomenal mother to our daughter, it's up with me anytime. So people were mad about this? Some people were upset. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:36:40 But I guess they felt like, why are you showering this woman with gifts? You have a girlfriend. That's the mother of his child. Well, let's open up the phone. If the mother of your child is happy, then your child will be happy as well. And I just want to put out there, I don't have a problem with it,
Starting point is 00:36:51 and I don't think there's an issue with that, but I did hear people saying, in this room, why would he buy her all that stuff? Call Taylor in here. There. Call Taylor in here. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:37:02 We're asking, right? If you're dating a guy, and he showers his baby moms with gifts, do you think that's whack? Do you think that's foul? Would you be jealous, Envy? Or do you think that's what he's supposed to do? There's absolutely nothing wrong with showing the mother of your child
Starting point is 00:37:14 that kind of love. He probably appreciates her being a great mother, so he's showering her with gifts. What's the problem? Absolutely. I don't see nothing wrong with it. What's the problem? I don't see nothing wrong with it.
Starting point is 00:37:20 If she's an amazing mother, that's the mother to your child. And what do they say? If mom is happy, household will be happy. I wonder if I would be jealous if I was dating somebody and they did that to their children's mother.
Starting point is 00:37:33 And those are the same people that if he wasn't doing anything for the baby, he'd be like, he don't do nothing for his baby mama. But when he does something for his baby mama,
Starting point is 00:37:39 he doing too much for his baby mama. It probably depends on whether or not I thought they still were messing around with each other. It still wouldn't matter. I mean, that's his baby mom. If he bought his baby or not I thought they still were messing around with each other. I'm sure. It still wouldn't matter.
Starting point is 00:37:46 I mean, that's his baby moms. If he bought his baby moms from his brothers. I'm just trying to think emotionally, how would I feel? The only thing is if he buy you some whack gifts and buy her way bigger gifts.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Right, that's what I'm saying. There's other things that come into play. That might make you feel a little way. If he was like super cheap with me. He'd buy you a Michael Kors bag and buy her Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
Starting point is 00:38:00 You might feel a way. The moral of the story is you can't please these niggas. So you might as well just be like, please. All right. Let's talk about it. 800-585-1051as. All right, well, let's talk about it. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Call us up right now. Let's talk about it. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired, depressed, a little bit revolutionary? Consider this.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of, like, this is mine. I own this. It your own country. I planted the flag and just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia.
Starting point is 00:38:35 I'm Jackson the First, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I create my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? Be part of a great colonial tradition. What could go wrong? I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that?

Starting point is 00:41:27 Talk about it. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us, we're talking about Javante Davis, Tank. Now, what happened with Tanky? Well, it was his daughter's mother's birthday, and he bought her a whole bunch of things from the mall.
Starting point is 00:41:44 And she said, he ain't disrespecting me. He doing what the F he want to do because he can. We have grown to have a better relationship for our daughter. Stop adding me. When he ready to introduce me to the woman he desires to be with in future, then we'll all toast up and go shopping together on the regular. Y'all got to relax. Now, who's complaining about this?
Starting point is 00:42:01 Taylor don't want no smoke, huh? Taylor was in here, you know, complaining about this earlier. Now she's staying out of the way. That's the only person I heard complain about this. Are people complaining about this? Taylor don't want no smoke, huh? Taylor was in here, you know, complaining about this earlier. Now she's staying out of the way. Because that's the only person I heard complain about this. Are people complaining about this on social media? Well, I guess people were adding her. That's why she did the post. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Telling people, stop adding me. And explaining how they have a better relationship. And they have a better relationship for their daughter. And so on and so forth. Taylor Hyden. Taylor from Philly. You know what we call Taylor? Hate property.
Starting point is 00:42:23 Oh, my goodness. She is a hater. I don't see nothing wrong with it. That's his baby mom. He's supposed to take care of his baby mom. I think that you can tell a lot about a guy by the relationship that he has with his baby mom. If you're dating somebody with kids, as I've done in the past, you want to make sure that they don't hate each other.
Starting point is 00:42:38 That he doesn't hate her. That he doesn't say nasty things about her. Because at the end of the day, the child should be first. That's the mother of his child. If the mother of your child is happy, then your child will be happier. There is absolutely nothing wrong with showering the mother of your child with gifts, okay? Because I'm sure he appreciates her being a great mother. And so he's showing her that kind of love.
Starting point is 00:42:56 And not to mention, you really love your child, right? Who does your child love the most on this planet other than the father? The mom. The mom. So you guys treat the mom like a queen so your child can see that. Now, what about if he's buying better gifts than the girl he's with? Well, then he's just wildin'.
Starting point is 00:43:12 See, that could be part of it. I mean, it depends what the gifts are. Yeah, now, in that situation, if I was dating somebody and they were doing a lot more for their child's mother than they were for me and I was feeling like, there's something going on here.
Starting point is 00:43:25 You know what? That would be a different story, and that's up to me to decide whether or not that's the situation I want to stay in. I take that back. The reason I take that back is this. You're the mother of my child, right? Correct. So your role in my life is important than any woman I'm just dating.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Now, if you become my wife, right, then that's different. If I'm giving the mother of my child better gifts than I'm giving my girlfriend, I don't see a problem with that. But if I'm giving the mother of my child better gifts than I'm giving my wife, that's the actual issue. But this is the thing. Let's say you buy, what's the bag that you bought before? I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Michael Kors? I don't remember. All right. The Michael Kors bag. That was another point in my life. I was a totally different person. I don't remember those things. You buy your girl a Michael Kors bag, right?
Starting point is 00:44:04 For Christmas, which is a great gift. You buy your girl a Michael Kors bag, right? For Christmas, which is a great gift. You buy your girl a Michael Kors bag. She's not really your girl. Let's be clear on that. I don't even know why you're bringing that up. You know what? I'm going to the phone line. You buy your girl a Michael Kors bag.
Starting point is 00:44:15 Trust me, that's not really your girl. You would never do that to your girl. You know what? Hello, who's this? Yeah, this is Will. What'd you think, Will? Nah, man. I ain't going gonna take care of her, man. There's no reason we left each other, bro.
Starting point is 00:44:28 That's still your baby mother. She takes care of your kids. Man, look, I take care of my kids. Now, if she need it for emergency, then yeah, I look out for her and all that. But other than that, me show her every week or every other week. I'm not gonna be buying her no Michael Kors bag or this and that. Not even. I got my new girl.
Starting point is 00:44:44 I got my new girl now to shower. You buy that new girl the Michael Kors bag and this and that. Not even. I got my new girl. I got my new girl now to shower. You bought that new girl the Michael Kors bag, right? Yeah, she got that new new. That's right. That new, you know, that little Dominican you date
Starting point is 00:44:54 and you make sure she laced in the Michael Kors. Y'all gotta stop making fun of Michael Kors. My goodness. Hello, who's this? Hi, I'm Stacy. Hey, Stacy. Now, how would you feel if, I'm Stacey. Hey, Stacey.
Starting point is 00:45:05 Now, how would you feel if the guy you date and bought his baby mom mad gifts? Well, see, the situation I'm in is my, the person I'm with right now, I have a son with myself, and he has another previous son with someone else. So, like, I don't know. I guess I would, not that I would feel jealous, but I would feel like if he was giving his son to give gifts to his mother,
Starting point is 00:45:30 it would be a different story. But I would probably feel some type of way. Right. Yeah, and that's an honest emotion. Like, you can feel some type of way. It's okay. It's natural to feel jealous or feel insecure about that situation. But, you know, you still got to.
Starting point is 00:45:42 Don't make me question. Huh? And you'd be like, what's really going on between them? I mean, yeah, but what's really going on is I'm just rewarding my... I'm rewarding my child's mother for being a great mother. Right, if she's a great mother and...
Starting point is 00:45:53 Hopefully, that's all that's going on. Well, hopefully, but like you said, if the mom is happy, the kids are going to be happy. That household's going to be happy. That's right. Listen, we got Taylor's hating ass in here. We're going to talk to her next break
Starting point is 00:46:02 because she's the one who brought this up. When we come back. Came in here mad. 800-585-1051. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 00:46:12 We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us, we're talking about Javante Davis, Tank Boxer. Now, what happened with Tank E? He apparently bought his daughter's mother a bunch of gifts from Lenox Mall just to show his appreciation for being a phenomenal mother to our daughter. That's her quote. She said, it's up with me anytime. And I guess a lot of people were adding her.
Starting point is 00:46:33 She said, he ain't disrespecting me. He doing what the F he want to do because he can. We have grown to have a better relationship for our daughter. Stop adding me. Now, Angelina said a lot of people were adding the young lady. I didn't see any of that, but I'm sure it was happening. I just know that we had one person in this room. That's right.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Who goes by the name of Taylor Gang, lovingly called hate property, because she is a hater. From Philly. From Philly. Why do you hate this situation, Taylor? I don't hate it. I just think it's very weird that, or not very weird. I think it's unnecessary that he's getting her so much. I just don't think it's very weird that, or not very weird, I think it's unnecessary that he's gifting her so much.
Starting point is 00:47:07 I just don't think it's necessary. Well, listen, there's absolutely nothing wrong with showing the mother of your child that kind of love. You can show, but why do you have to show her, like, with gifts and stuff like that?
Starting point is 00:47:15 Because that's from the kids. It's from the kids. Is it from the kids? Did she say it's from the kids? No. It's from the kids. She said one line in her statement that lets me know everything.
Starting point is 00:47:24 When she says, he appreciates me being a good mother. That's good. Great. Shower the good mother with gifts. Why not? Because y'all are the same people that would be mad. Who's y'all? I'm not a baby mom.
Starting point is 00:47:33 Hate property. You're the same person that would be mad if he wasn't doing anything for the baby mom. You know what I'm saying? Like, he don't do nothing for his baby mama. No, I just worry about he does stuff for his kid. I don't really care, like, what he does for the mom. I can't wait till you somebody baby mama. I'm not going wear what he does for his kids. I don't really care, like, what he does for the mom. I can't wait till you're somebody's baby mama.
Starting point is 00:47:47 I'm not going to. And you don't get no gifts. All right. Okay? I can't wait. Hello, who's this? Keisha Moore. Hey, Keisha. What do you think, Keisha?
Starting point is 00:47:56 I don't think. I think they're still messing around. If he don't shut it down for her, that's his baby mama. Just a baby mama. He's not a wife. I mean, if he's taking care of his child, that's a great thing. But if he's shutting them all down just to
Starting point is 00:48:10 take her and splurge for her, I mean, it's something really important. Watch this hurt. Hey, how many kids you got, my love? I got two. Okay, how many baby daddies? One. What do they do for you other than child support? Oh, I ain't no child support. My kid's grown now. Oh, okay. But when they weren't grown, what did he do for you other than child support? Oh, I ain't no child support. My kid's grown now.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Oh, okay. But when they weren't grown, what did he do for you other than child support? That's it? I know. I mean, but we were cool. Yeah, but he's coming from a place of hurt because she ain't never got nothing from her baby daddy. So your kids didn't buy you nothing when you were younger? No, not the kids. The baby daddy.
Starting point is 00:48:41 But the baby daddy would have to buy for the kids. So you didn't get nothing from the kids for Christmas or birthdays. They got stuff from their dad, yeah. But you ain't getting nothing. But I'm not giving nothing. If I'm not with him anymore, it don't matter. Even as a good mother, you wouldn't appreciate if he just gave you a little token of appreciation sometime
Starting point is 00:48:57 and just gave you a little gift on Christmas, a little gift on your birthday and said, thank you for being a good mother. You wouldn't have appreciated that? Yeah. Now tell the truth and shame the devil. I know you're coming from a place of hurt. It's the same thing, though.
Starting point is 00:49:09 No, it's not hurt. Can I please? You wanted that Michael Kors badge. She wanted no Burberry. I can hear Burberry on her breath. You like Burberry, don't you? No, I'm an average person. I mean, it don't matter. I mean.
Starting point is 00:49:22 Do you like Burberry? Come on, tell the truth. You like Burberry patterns, don't you? She like Michael Kors, man. What you like? What you like? It ain't that serious. It ain't that serious.
Starting point is 00:49:31 What I'm saying is if he's showering his baby mama like that and got a girlfriend, she should feel some type of way. Also, we got to keep in mind, Javante Davis is a multimillionaire. You can't compare a multimillionaire to your broke-ass baby daddy. I'm just being honest. The man got it to splurge. Well, and like Drita said, it's because he can do that. That's right.
Starting point is 00:49:49 That's very true. We're forgetting that. We are forgetting that. What's the moral of the story? The moral of the story is you can't please these... So you might as well say please to these...
Starting point is 00:49:57 Please. Please. And we got rumors on the way in. What am I doing over here with mine? Well, we were talking earlier behind the scenes about the Aaron Hernandez Netflix docuseries.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Now Aaron Hernandez's lawyer is responding to Netflix about that series. All right. And when we come back, if you want to hear Wendy Williams fart in HD. In HD, God damn it. In HD. Listen, first we got to play the regular fart for them. Right. And then we got to play it with this program that our producers have called Normalize.
Starting point is 00:50:25 It's like listening to things in HD. Correct. It's amazing. Right. When we come back. You have to hear this. We're going to play Wendy Williams' fart. You have to hear it.
Starting point is 00:50:31 I don't understand why Wendy Williams, why they pay her the big bucks. She is a genius when it comes to her craft. But the fact that she can talk and fart at the same time is a whole different level. This was a real fart. This wasn't one of those little poots. No, no. This wasn't a how you pooting. This was like a scratch. Wait until you one of those little poots. This wasn't a how you pooting. This was like a scratch.
Starting point is 00:50:46 Wait until you hit HD. Oh, my goodness. We'll get into it when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. I've been waiting for this. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
Starting point is 00:51:00 We are The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Now, yesterday, Wendy Williams allegedly farted on live TV. What makes this so amazing is, you know, when you watch the video, you can see that she sat up a little. She leaned to the left a little bit. She raised one of her cheeks, leaned to the left. She went into the slide out. Yeah, she thought it was going to be a silent killer.
Starting point is 00:51:16 But instead, you know, it was the fart heard around the world. Yeah. Now, our producers have this thing that I just learned about this morning. Normalizing. It's called normalized. Normalized or normalizing or normalized? What is it? It normalizes the audio.
Starting point is 00:51:28 So what it does is it raises all the audio on the same level. It's like hearing things in HD. Correct. And I just listened to Wendy Williams' alleged fart in HD, and it sounded amazing. But first, we have to play Wendy Williams' alleged fart without normalized. Listen. That cop wasn't playing that. I mean, you're lucky you only got
Starting point is 00:51:46 battery you just played again one more time this is people who pay attention people listen that cop wasn't playing that i mean you're lucky you only got battery sound like a wet one too now can we hear it with normalized this is wendy williams fart and actual HD. Listen. That cop wasn't playing that. I mean, you're lucky you only got battery. When you hear without the normalized, it sounds like long and wet. But in HD, it's got some texture to it. It does. Yeah, it don't sound as wet in HD.
Starting point is 00:52:18 That's no sound effect. That is just actually the program called normalized that makes the fart sound like it's in HD. That's amazing. You think it would have been better to acknowledge it? Excuse me? See, here's the thing. You don't know if somebody heard it or not. Everybody heard it.
Starting point is 00:52:33 No, but that's the thing with farts sometimes. You know how sometimes you might be talking and you sneeze and fart at the same time. You don't know if people heard the fart? Bro, she sharted. She got a stain on it. She had a stain. Yes, she did. Did you hear how wet that was?
Starting point is 00:52:43 It only sounds like that when it's not in HD. Play it in HD again one more time, Jarvis. That cop wasn't playing that. I mean, you're lucky you only got battery. It's texture. It got some meat to it when you hear it in HD. When you hear it without the normalized, it sounds wet and like sounds like something a little too loose.
Starting point is 00:53:01 You know, she also burped on that show. Loose water. I see a little loose water. She's g she also burped on that show. Loose water. I see a little loose water. She's gassy. I think it's cool. Like, you know, it happens to the best of us. Listen, I think she's a professional. That's why she was able to continue talking.
Starting point is 00:53:13 But she talked while at the end of the fart. Slight pause. No, it was a slight pause. Slight pause. But while it was still coming out, she was still talking. No, slight pause. Slight pause.
Starting point is 00:53:20 Here without normal. Here without normalized. Here regular. Here regular. Let's hear it. That Let's hear it again. Here without normal. Here without normalized. Oh, let me get that one. Here regular. Here regular. Let's hear it. That cop wasn't playing that. I mean, you're lucky you only got that. See?
Starting point is 00:53:30 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was a pause, man. It was a pause. Can't talk and fart at the same time. Yeah, yeah, you're right. Drop on the clues box, Wendy Williams. I gave her too much credit. Good morning, Wendy.
Starting point is 00:53:37 Just like you also can't sneeze with your eyes open. It's impossible. Really? Mm-hmm. Oh. Well, good morning, Wendy. All right. How you pruning? Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good? Mm-hmm. Oh. Well, good morning, Wendy. All right. How you pruning?
Starting point is 00:53:49 Oh, my goodness. All right. We got rumors on the way in. Well, let's talk about Oprah backing out of that Russell Simmons documentary, and she did admit that there was some pressure. We'll tell you what she said. All right. We'll get into that next Keep It Locked.
Starting point is 00:54:01 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's about time. What's going on? Rumor report. Rum Locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's about time. What's going on? Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is The Rumor Report. Talk to them.
Starting point is 00:54:10 With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. Well, Tisha Campbell is responding to Martin Lawrence's remarks about the past sexual harassment suit. And here's what she had to say. We told you before in a recent interview on GQ, Martin said it was a lot of BS. And just whoever's side it was, it was BS. And he said that he and Tisha Campbell never spoke about the lawsuit. He said, we don't need to talk about something that
Starting point is 00:54:34 just didn't happen. Well, here's what Tisha has to say about that. I can't go into much detail about the past because there was a confidentiality agreement. But I was actually kind of shocked. There were people in my ear saying be quiet, don't say anything. And then there were other people who were like, you need to back back. But I took a day and I said, I'm going to just hit him up.
Starting point is 00:54:53 And so I was like, hey. And he was like, T, I said, yo, are we good? And he was like, yeah, T, don't read into what it is. You know, there's a lot of people that's trying to bring up the past and trying to make it news today. But, you know, T, we're good. I love you. I love your family. All right.
Starting point is 00:55:11 Now, Martin Lawrence had also put up a post. Regardless of the past or any misrepresentation of it in the press, I have nothing but love for Tisha then and now. We are good and always will be. And then he used the hashtag T Marty Mar and You Go Girl. Here's what else T.C. Campbell had to say about talking with Martin Lawrence. And he said, most people don't know that we've talked. If you look back, there was some pictures of us and we had lunch last year. And most people were talking about a reboot.
Starting point is 00:55:39 And for us, it wasn't about a reboot. It was about a reconnection. And we got to talk about everything. By the end of it, it was nothing but laughter and healing. And I got a chance to experience that. And I'm so glad that we're in a good place right now. All right. So that's all she's going to say about that.
Starting point is 00:56:00 That's good. I'm glad they squashed their beef. And maybe we will see something in the future. But I'm just glad they squashed their problems and beef. In the meantime, Bad Boys for Life had a great opening weekend. They earned over $100 million worldwide, $73 million domestically. I enjoyed it. Dropping the Clues bombs for Bad Boys 3.
Starting point is 00:56:15 I loved it. I loved the fact that they leaned into them being old heads. And salute to Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. I'm happy for them because they pulled up to a lot of black outlets on their press run. They did. You know, a lot of black outlets on their press run. They did. You know, a lot of times you have these culturally clueless publicists in Hollywood, and they take black actors and actresses to all these white outlets and forget the black ones. But Will and Martin did Sway Show, and they did The Breakfast Club, and they did Crown with Elliot Wilson.
Starting point is 00:56:36 So salute to them for that. Yeah, they did a lot of press. They went hard. They worked. They worked. All right, and there's already a bad voice for in the works, like I said earlier. Oprah, she says that she was pressured by Russell Simmons to back out of that Apple documentary that was highlighting these sexual abuse claims. She told The New York Times that he reached out to her multiple times she also said she ultimately decided to step away because of inconsistencies in the accusers.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Drew Dixon's account of the assault. Now, Drew Dixon responded. She said, I feel like I'm experiencing a second crime. I am being silenced. The broader community is being intimidated. The most powerful black woman in the world is being intimidated. And that's her response to that film not being produced by Oprah. It's also being pulled from Apple as well.
Starting point is 00:57:32 Yeah, I read that article this weekend in the New York Times. What kind of pressure could Russell Simmons have put on Oprah? Like, come on, you really think Russell Simmons can intimidate Oprah Winfrey? Right. That don't even sound right to me. He probably just told her his side of things. She decided not to. She didn't want to do it. I mean, if you read the article, it's a lot more to why
Starting point is 00:57:45 she decided to pull out. What does she say? As Angelina just said, you know, she was kind of... Inconsistencies. Inconsistencies with the, you know, accuser story, things like that.
Starting point is 00:57:54 But I just don't believe that Russell Simmons can pressure Oprah Winfrey. I know he has, like, some paperwork and other things that he can't release yet. But, you know. All right, now, Aaron Hernandez,
Starting point is 00:58:06 speaking of documentaries, that Netflix docuseries aaron hernandez's lawyer has responded and he has an issue against the newly released docuseries killer inside the mind of aaron hernandez it's a three-part netflix series he said i don't give a damn about what some lame-ass documentary has to say about aaron i knew him they They did not. And while he was far from perfect, they are not even close to the truth. People have no idea how documentaries are made. The truth is usually found on the cutting room floor.
Starting point is 00:58:35 These producers lied directly to my face, so I don't expect their money-making scheme to be much better. So... I know one thing. That is his response. You don't have to tell us that a serial killer is far from perfect.
Starting point is 00:58:47 I think we've come to that conclusion on our own. He allegedly started killing early. Yeah, he was a killer. Alright, now 6ix9ine, Takashi6ix9ine, his former bodyguards, reportedly don't want to work for him at all anymore once he is freed. They said it's over. So several of them have
Starting point is 00:59:03 left for different reasons, but they said no amount of payment would be worth protecting him. That is a very risky job. Yeah, smart. Bodyguards are for insurance. You know what I'm saying? Not shields. Right.
Starting point is 00:59:15 In a case like 6-9, they could possibly be shields. They already feel like he needlessly endangered them before he went to prison, but they say now that he's a, quote, snitch, they think it will end up just being even worse. All right, Kanye West. He was at the Awaken 2020, which is a rally for prayer in Tempe, Arizona. And he talks about his renewed commitment to Jesus Christ. He also talks about how he managed to kick alcoholism and, quote, beat the devil.
Starting point is 00:59:42 Listen to this. There was some vodka in the refrigerator at my office. And sometimes I would just go out here and take a drink in the middle beat the devil. Listen to this. There was some vodka in the refrigerator at my office and sometimes I would just go out here and take a drink in the middle of the day and I was walking towards that kitchenette area and I stopped myself and I said devil you're not going to beat me today.
Starting point is 00:59:59 And it's something that we take on day by day. Every day that I don't pick up that drink, I beat the devil. All right. Well, congratulations. That's good news for Kanye. It is.
Starting point is 01:00:14 All right. I'm Angela Yee, and that is your Rumor Reports. All right. Thank you, Miss Yee. And sorry for my voice today. I'm trying. All right. Charlamagne, who are you giving that donkey to?
Starting point is 01:00:21 Listen, I'm a father. You know, all the fathers out there, I feel like our job is to protect and to provide. But sometimes protection can go a little bit too far. We'll talk about it for after the hour. I don't know if I agree with you with this one, but we'll get into it next. We can argue. Okay. All right, we'll get into it next.
Starting point is 01:00:36 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Charlemagne, say the game. Donkey under the shade. Charlemagne. You are a donkey. It's time for Donkey of the Day day donkey of the day does not discriminate i might not have the song of the day but i got the donkey so if you ever feel i need to be a donkey man hit it with the heat it's a breakfast club bitches who's donkey of the
Starting point is 01:00:59 day today yeah donkey of the day for tuesday january 21st goes to a man named Barry Lee Jones. Now, Barry Lee Jones was arrested and charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct. I know what you're thinking. Who did this grown man slap on the ass the way Odell Beckham Jr. did in order to get this simple assault and disorderly conduct charge? Well, there was no ass slapping, okay? No Odell. Let's go to WMFY News 2 for the report to find out what he did, though. Parents stormed the mats at a Kannapolis high school just seconds after a tackle
Starting point is 01:01:30 that came out of nowhere. Two students are wrestling when one, a Southeast Guilford student, brings down the other wrestler on the mat. And as you see right there, the referee makes a call, but one parent, of course, runs down and tackles the Southeast student. Kannapolis police say that man is Barry Lee Jones.
Starting point is 01:01:47 He's been charged with civil assault and disorderly conduct. Police say his son, a student athlete at Hickory Ridge High School, was fighting in that match. Luckily, police say the student who was tackled was not injured. Barry Lee Jones, a concerned father, was attending his kid's wrestling match his kid gets slammed to the floor by his opponent so his daddy rushes out and tackles his child's opponent uh and i am a father of three beautiful young princesses and i believe that my job as a father is to protect and provide so i understand a father's natural instinct to want to protect his seed but there's a thing called context okay and in the context of this situation barry lee
Starting point is 01:02:26 jones was dead wrong it's a wrestling match physical combat okay sanctioned violence in a wrestling match it's a great chance your child will be slammed to the ground that's the whole point of the sport barry lee you knew that before you got there all right so for you to be upset pissed off or even feel like you have to go in protection mode because your son got slammed is insane to me. Your child got slammed. So what? Make him do more push-ups. Make him lift more weights.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Go to dietary resolutions and order him some CMOS. Order him some male balance, too, while you at it. All right? Tackling your child's opponent is not going to keep him from getting slammed again. All right? Daddy can't always come to the rescue. So if he got slammed, so what what dust yourself off and try again how are you going to teach your kids to move off strategy and not emotion if you're not practicing what you're preaching now i want to know because
Starting point is 01:03:14 this situation could have ended badly where was his opponent's daddy all right his opponent's daddy should have whipped his ass okay that's the problem with situations like this all right you know uh barry you so caught up in emotion that you forgot your child's opponent has a daddy too. So how would you react, Barry, if you saw some adult just tackling your child? Okay, we saw how you reacted when your child got slammed in a wrestling match by another kid. So imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and you were the opponent's father and you watching your child get tackled by some random adult. I don't think you would react too
Starting point is 01:03:47 kindly to that, Barry Lee. Now, you're charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct and I don't feel sorry for you at all. Envy disagrees. Yes, he does. See, I'm going to say it like this. There's a lot that you left out. What did I leave out? Yes, they were in a wrestling match, right?
Starting point is 01:04:03 And there's certain things, I mean, you don't have a son, but my son wrestles, used to wrestle. And there's certain moves that you can't do that's not allowed. Nobody said that move was illegal, though. He threw the kid on his head. But they said it wasn't illegal. When did they say that? You said it was illegal, but I read nowhere that it said it wasn't illegal. Look, look.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Throw it on his head. That kid could be paralyzed. It's a wrestling match. Don't throw my son on his head. It's a wrestling match. Don't throw my son on his head. It's a wrestling match. Don't throw my son on his head. Please let Remy Ma give Barry Lee Jones the biggest hee-haw. Hee-haw, hee-haw, you stupid motherfucker.
Starting point is 01:04:33 And they said the kid wasn't hurt. No, he was not hurt. I haven't read anywhere where they say that was an illegal move. He wasn't hurt. I've seen he was hurt. But even the ref, after he did it, that ref held his head like, oh, my gosh. Yes, because it's wrestling. Just like in boxing, sometimes you see a punch that hits a box, and the ref is like, oh.
Starting point is 01:04:47 Are you watching football, and somebody gets tackled, and you're like, oh. And we don't know if this was the first time that happened or if he did that before. You don't know what made that father do that. As a father who ran on a court before because somebody has done something foul to my son, I don't have no problem with it. And if the daddy wants five minutes, daddy can give five minutes, too. So if the daddy tackles your son, right, and then that person, the kid's son, comes in there with a pistol and pistol whips you.
Starting point is 01:05:10 See, you always go too far. Exactly. I knew you was going to say that. I knew you was going to say that. A knife, a gun, a grenade, a rocket launcher. An adult tackled my kid. I don't know how I'm going to react, so why is that too far? Well, don't drop my son on his head.
Starting point is 01:05:22 But Barry Lee didn't go too far. Why do you think it's too far for me to retaliate for you tackling my child, but you don't think Barry Lee went too far? Well, don't drop my son on his head. But Barry Lee didn't go too far. Why do you think it's too far for me to retaliate for you tackling my child? But you don't think Barry Lee went too far. Oh, so if you slam my kid on the head and my kid is paralyzed, I'm supposed to just sit there and watch? It's a wrestling match. Unfortunately, he's not paralyzed. Thank God. Yes, and as a parent, you have to sign a waiver for your kid to wrestle anyway.
Starting point is 01:05:41 Because things like that happen in wrestling matches. Don't slam my kid on his head. My kid could die, break his neck, be paralyzed. Well, you shouldn't be wrestling then if that's the way you feel. It is a very dangerous sport. Yes, absolutely. Just like certain football.
Starting point is 01:05:58 You're not supposed to hit helmet to helmet. Now, if a kid hits my kid in the helmet on purpose that I feel is on purpose. You're going to run out on the field and tackle him? Listen, helmets to helmets happen all the time And they be accidents And sometimes they don't be accidents Sometimes they be on purpose
Starting point is 01:06:10 Well you going to jail I can't wait You going to bail me out I cannot wait to give you donkey You think that it was embarrassing to have your dad run out I ran on the court before Is it embarrassing for your son No my son didn't say nothing You ran on the court doing a female basketball
Starting point is 01:06:25 game, bro? No, my son's basketball game. This kid was elbowing. I told the ref at first, yo, watch the kid's elbow. He kept elbowing. I told my son if he elbows again, you put him on his ass. And my son put him on his ass and I ran on that court. For what? Don't be elbowing him. But you said your son put him
Starting point is 01:06:41 on the ass. And they probably were making fun of him at school. Y'all go jump the little boy. Go get your daddy. Why don't you said your son put him on the ass. They probably were making fun of him at school. Y'all gonna jump the little boy? Go get your daddy. Why don't you get your daddy? Don't mess with the Casey crew. We want it all in. Brooklyn too. You're going to jail.
Starting point is 01:06:55 It's only a matter of time. That's all right. It's only a matter of time. Context matters, though. That's all I'm saying. It was a wrestling match. Why don't you go get your daddy to come help you? Yes, and I'll be there. Because when I got into a problem, you know what I got called a wrestling match. You got to tackle. Why don't you go get your daddy to come help you? Yes. And I'll be there.
Starting point is 01:07:06 Because when I got into a problem, you know what I got called? My daddy. My daddy was there. Well, we saw your pictures, Envy. You needed your dad. Shut up. 800-585-1051. Was this man right for protecting and helping his son who was almost paralyzed?
Starting point is 01:07:20 I don't like how you're playing the jury. You said, was this man right? No, was this man wrong for what he did? 800-585-1051 is The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Pull out your phone. Call in right now.
Starting point is 01:07:36 Call me. Add your opinion to The Breakfast Club topic. Break it down. 800-585-1051. The Breakfast Club. club topic break it down 800-585-1051 the breakfast club morning everybody is dj envy angela yee charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club now if you just join us charlamagne gave donkey of the day to this outstanding citizen that was just out here protecting his seat no his name is barry lee jones uh barry lee jones was arrested and charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct
Starting point is 01:08:05 because his son was wrestling. His son, who clearly hasn't been doing his push-ups, clearly hasn't been doing his pull-ups, clearly hasn't lifted enough weights, got slammed, okay, by his opponent. On his head. He could have died. During the wrestling match.
Starting point is 01:08:18 So the father decided to come out and tackle the kid. Yep. You can't beat up kids. I don't see nothing wrong with that. I see everything wrong with it. Throw my son on his head and he could possibly die and be paralyzed.
Starting point is 01:08:29 Things happen in a wrestling match. I'm sure the guy didn't do it on purpose. I'm going to fight you and then if you pop one five minutes, you're possibly getting five minutes too. Barry Lee does not look like he wants five minutes with anybody.
Starting point is 01:08:39 He looks in worse shape than his son. All right? Okay. All right. His run looked like slow-mo. So we're asking, was the dad right? Hello? Hello.
Starting point is 01:08:50 Hey, who's this? This is Tammy from Detroit. Hey, Tammy from Detroit. How's it going, you guys? Now, Tammy, if somebody threw your son on his head, would you just let him do it? No. Context matters. The context matters in a wrestling match.
Starting point is 01:09:05 Let me tell you, I'm going to hit the floor. I may not have slammed the opponent, but he's going to know he was wrong. And by the way, just because he didn't call the, it wasn't illegal move. And the ref did call it that, whether Charlamagne read that or not. It wasn't an illegal move. To Charlamagne's point, yes, yes, yes. It is wrestling. Condone madness on the floor. And yes,
Starting point is 01:09:30 a legal move can cause someone to become paralyzed. So we get that. Our producer Eddie told me that the referee did call it illegal, but that's still no reason for the parent to come out and tackle the kid, though. You can't get mad at wrestlers for wrestling.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Hello? What's going on? What's up, bro? Same old thing. Yeah, the dude, I think the parent, I think he was in the wrong because I'm like kids or whatever, and I think the key question with today is that people, they protect their kids too much,
Starting point is 01:10:03 and now most of them are, like, super soft, but they think they feel like they got to pick up guns. You know what I'm saying? So protect themselves and stuff. And I think that we need to give them, you know, different outlooks on life and how to protect themselves and things, you know? What are you talking about? Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 01:10:19 I get what he's saying. Do you? He's saying that sometimes you got to get slammed. He's like, you know, we try to protect. No, he's saying we protect the kids too much Sometimes you just gotta get slammed Things happen Hello? Hi
Starting point is 01:10:32 Hey, what's your name? My name is Micah Hey Micah So I was calling to make a comment on the topic I'm a wrestler's mom And a lot of times The refs don't make the calls that they should make sometimes the kids are wrestling dirty throughout the match so i get where the parent was coming from like i don't think he should have like bum rushed the kid or whatever off the mat but when you're
Starting point is 01:10:57 watching your kid and the opponent is wrestling dirty throughout the match and the ref isn't making the calls that he should make you know know, your anxiety is up, your adrenaline is up. And I just think like he just rushed out there off of pure adrenaline because that wasn't a legal move that that kid did. Well, tackle the referee. Don't tackle somebody else's kid. Tackle the referee. Get on the referee ass.
Starting point is 01:11:18 I mean, I'm not saying I disagree. I'm just saying I see where he was coming from. How many kids have you tackled? I ain't going to put myself out there. See? See the time we came before. Thank you. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 01:11:32 We're asking, was the father in the right or was he in the wrong? Call us up now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's EJ, Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us, we're talking about Charlamagne giving a donkey of the day
Starting point is 01:11:49 to this fine individual, this outstanding citizen that was just minding his business, protecting his son out there. No, his name is Barry Lee Jones. The context of the situation is his son was in a wrestling match. His son got slammed on his head because his son ain't been doing enough push-ups and taking enough sea moss. And so the father came out and tackled the opponent of his son. Well, let's go to the phone lines.
Starting point is 01:12:11 Hello, who's this? Yeah, this is Abe, man. I'm from Claxton, Georgia. What's up, Abe? Hey, man. Andy, I think, man, you really are light-skinned, man. And you're giving the light-skinned brothers a bad name. I think that you're a little bit too sensitive.
Starting point is 01:12:25 And these things are going to happen. He gets slammed on it. He had your son got just as much opportunity to slam the other kid on his head. That's an illegal move. You're not supposed to do that. No, these are kids. I think that you need to put your son in a tap dancing or cooking class or something like that. Tap dancing. Maybe get him a sewing machine, man
Starting point is 01:12:42 because you can't. Nothing wrong with sewing. I got three sons. Ain't nothing wrong with tap dancing, but that's a legal move. I forgot. I've been used to tap dancing. I did tap dance. What? Oh, Gregory Hines. I'm more than Gregory Hines.
Starting point is 01:12:54 I'm nice with it. I know you used to tap dance. Gregory Hines was nice with it, by the way. And I was nice with it, too. You do look like a tap dancer, though. I'm not going to lie. What does a tap dancer look like? You, you got a tap dancer look.
Starting point is 01:13:06 Hello, who's this? Hi, this is Stephanie. Hello, Stephanie. Now, do you think this father was in the right or wrong? Well, he probably, he was probably in the wrong, but I've been in the same situation. My kids, I have two boys that wrestle for Carroll High School, and a couple weeks ago when I had a tournament at Trent Arena,
Starting point is 01:13:27 my sons have very good sportsmanship. After the match, my oldest son, 220. You got to fix your phone, Mom. Yeah, your phone's going in and out. All we heard was your sons wrestle. Yes, they wrestle for Carroll High School. And my sons have very good sportsmanship. They're very sportsmanlike. They're very sportsmanlike.
Starting point is 01:13:45 After the match, my son went to, you know, tell his father to talk to him. Somebody must have slammed your phone, Mama. Somebody slammed you on your head. You can't even get this out. Did you? What the hell is going on? Mel from Pittsburgh. Hey, Mel.
Starting point is 01:14:01 We're talking about this father that ran on the wrestling mat. What do you think? Envy. I'm down with you. I will put a kid on his back for real. That's. We're talking about this father that ran on the wrestler mat. What do you think? Envy, I'm down with you. I will put a kid on his back for real. That's what I'm talking about. That's right. About my last board? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:13 Somebody going down. You treat my baby the wrong way. Where you from? Pittsburgh. Oh, okay. Thank you, mama. Can't wait to see you and Envy in jail together. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 01:14:23 Well, maybe y'all will be in the same jail. I don't know about him being in the same jail. Gary. Shut up. We're talking about this father that ran on the mat. What are your thoughts? Well, my thoughts is I'm very protective. I got one son.
Starting point is 01:14:36 And if you ever seen the commercial back in the days, you know, with the lady, the kid running the football down there about the insurance. Well, I was the same way about my son. And that's a parent's instinct to protect their kids. So I feel that he did the right thing. I just, I mean, the charges and everything like that. But I think I would have probably did the same thing. How is that a parent's instinct in the context of a wrestling match?
Starting point is 01:15:00 If you were just out somewhere and you saw some kid slamming your child, yes, but it's a wrestling match. It's sanctioned violence. It's an illegal move, though. It don't matter. That's why they have rules and regulations. I understand, Charlamagne, but, baby, this is a mother and I only have one son, and that's just
Starting point is 01:15:20 something I want to deal with, by any means. Well, make your punk-ass son do some more push-ups. There's rules. You can't have my son down here punching your face, baby. something I want to do by anything. Make your punk ass son do some more pushups. There's rules. You see how I turned out your punk in your face, baby? My baby ain't no punk. No, that's right. Your baby ain't no punk. You guys are teaching him about your ass.
Starting point is 01:15:36 He ain't no punk. Tell him you see a punk slap a punk. You tell him, mama. My son ain't no punk. Don't you say it. Excuse for the word, but a guy called him a punk, calling his ass, and he jumped up out of his, while I was doing his hair, he called him a punk. He jumped up out of his seat and punched him right in his face.
Starting point is 01:15:55 Okay. So don't be calling my son no punk. Hold on, so your son punched. Your son punched a 70-year-old man? No, the guy was 40-something. He had color in his hair. He said, why you got that color in your hair? You a punk.
Starting point is 01:16:10 I was doing his dress. He jumped up and punched the right face. You know what? I ain't do shit. I let him punch me because my son ain't no punk. I don't raise no punk. Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am.
Starting point is 01:16:19 Yes, ma'am. Where you from? I love y'all. I love you. Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. All right. Well, next y'all. I love you. Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. All right. Well, next time Charlamagne's in Hampton, Virginia doing a book signing,
Starting point is 01:16:30 I want you to run from the other side of the room and just tackle his ass and say, my son ain't no punk. I know where. I'll be there, baby. Tell me about when you're coming, honey. I listen to the radio every day. All day long. I'm waiting on you, baby.
Starting point is 01:16:44 Yes, ma'am. What's the moral of the story? The moral of the story is we need new listeners, man. These goddamn violent ass listeners we got. Lord have mercy. You'd be scared to get beat up and come home and tell your mom. Goodness gracious. Her son ain't no punk.
Starting point is 01:17:00 We got rumors on the way. Yes, Monique. She got her comedy special coming. Is it on Netflix? I'll tell you all about it. All right, we'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:17:09 The Breakfast Club. She's spilling the tea. This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. All right, well, Monique has gotten a new hour-long comedy special, and that will be on Showtime. Monique and friends live from Atlanta. Okay. Now, some of the special guests will include Donnell Rawlings.
Starting point is 01:17:35 Donnell got to stop being people's and friend. Okay, he's everybody's and friend. Whenever you see such somebody and friends, Donnell's usually the and friend. Leave Donnell alone, man. Come on. Anyway, it will air on February 7th on Showtime
Starting point is 01:17:47 at 10 p.m. And here's the trailer. They try to shut a bitch out. They try to make a bitch disappear. But you can't keep a good bitch down. For Showtime call, and that's what you want
Starting point is 01:17:59 to introduce some people you know. They give me 10 minutes, I wasted four on this damn entrance. I'm like size 16, but I identify as a size 8. I am transgender. You can't be happier. You gotta have a
Starting point is 01:18:12 jail face. So, Donnell's not the only end friend Monique got, right? No, no, no. There's other ones on there. Prince T-Dub, Tone X, Corey Bell, and more. Okay. Tone X is funny. Alright, now, congratulations to DJ Khaled and Nicole Tuck. They gave birth to a baby. Nice.
Starting point is 01:18:27 And number two, their second child, a boy. In New York too, right? In New York? Are they in New York? I believe so. Yeah, I'm not sure where they are. Well, congrats to Khaled and his wife. This one was not on Snapchat, by the way. Also Christina Milian and
Starting point is 01:18:43 Matt Pecora, they had their baby as well. So their son Isaiah was born. All right. So, yes, all these babies being born right now. All right. Now, moving on, let's talk about the rumored set list that will be Super Bowl weekend. Are y'all excited to see Beyonce and, I mean, not Beyonce, J-Lo and Shakira? Yes?
Starting point is 01:19:07 No? J-Lo, yeah. Not Shakira so much. Well, Beyonce is one of the rumored guests. All right? Who's she coming out with? Shakira, Beautiful Liar. They have that song.
Starting point is 01:19:17 Okay, okay, okay. Also on this rumored set list is Ja Rule. Drop one of Kool's bombs for Ja Rule, God damn it. You got so excited so fast. That's what I'm talking about. I would love to see Ja Rule at the Super Bowl. What are you doing? I'm real? Yep. That's going to make Twitter go crazy. Pit Bull with J-Lo.
Starting point is 01:19:33 I'm here for that. Wyatt Clef and Shakira. Hips don't lie. Yep, I can see that. So this is the rumor set list. It doesn't sound bad. So the only artist representing Miami is Pit Bull in Miami. Yeah, that's what it's looking like. Okay.
Starting point is 01:19:47 That's far. But by the way, this is all rumored. Okay. All right. Oprah has canceled Pastor John Gray's TV show, so you're not going to see that anymore. There's no plans for new episodes of that series. Why do you say Oprah canceled it?
Starting point is 01:20:00 Well, Oprah Winfrey Network. Jesus Christ. Sorry, the Oprah Winfrey Network own has canceled that show. So if you didn't know, season, the next season is just not going to happen. We don't know why that all went down. If you remember, Pastor John Gray also made headlines because of that Lamborghini. He bought his wife for their eighth wedding anniversary. People had issues with that.
Starting point is 01:20:21 There was a lot of controversy. But that show is not coming back. The Baby. I know y'all saw this video of him assaulting a hotel worker, right? And he has explained what happened. So did y'all see this video over the weekend? I sure did. What'd you think about that? I didn't see anything wrong
Starting point is 01:20:38 with what he did. Especially in the context of what he said. He asked a young man not to take a picture of his video of his child. He said that, you know, he don't want to be shown where people can see him and possibly hurt his child. He gave the guy the respect. The guy taped it anyway. Yeah, the only thing I would tell the baby is at this point in his
Starting point is 01:20:54 life, he has to keep his hands clean, even though I don't mind a person that does their own dirty work. But, you know, that's what you got Kong for. Alright, so what they said is the guy in the video is a hotel employee. That person followed the baby outside to get a picture. The baby said no and walked back in the lobby, and that's when all this went down. Now, he said, that hotel worker you see me pushing came up to me outside the hotel
Starting point is 01:21:16 and asked could he record a video of me while I was holding my 2-year-old daughter. I calmly and respectfully said no and explained to him that posting a video of me at that time would compromise the safety of me and my child by letting social media know where we were staying. Fair enough. Yes. You don't want people to know what hotel you're at. You don't need that. Yeah, and unlike the parent that tackled the guy at the
Starting point is 01:21:38 wrestling game, this is in context too. In context, I asked you not to do something. We in the street. I gotta protect mine. He said after being told no, still being on the clock at work, he walked to the other side of the parking lot, maybe 50 feet away, and zoomed in while recording a video of me and my daughter on Snapchat after I politely asked him not to and gave him an explanation as to why I didn't want him to. I then handed my daughter to her uncle and walked over to him as he was typing his caption on the video of me and my child, not knowing that I saw him recorded and that I was over his shoulder
Starting point is 01:22:10 watching him type the caption. I don't see the problem. I told him to delete the video immediately and take his bitch ass back in the hotel and do his job, since he wasn't capable of being professional enough to abide by company policy while doing his job outside of the hotel.
Starting point is 01:22:26 And he goes on to say, upon entering the hotel, I made him sit down and understand the fact that no video is worth the safety of my child being compromised, especially after I politely explained to him the reasoning behind me saying no. Listen, I have no problem with the baby dead. The only problem I have is that Cain Con got to move a little bit faster. All right? He probably wasn't dead.
Starting point is 01:22:44 He probably wasn't dead. I thought he was right behind him in the video. No, that guy's way smaller. Oh, bit faster. All right? He probably wasn't there. He probably wasn't there. I thought he was right behind him in the video. No, that guy's way smaller. Oh, I ain't looking. Nah, that guy's smaller. Yeah, Kane, you just got to move a little bit
Starting point is 01:22:50 faster, that's all. And he did say, being a celebrity and being liked by the public is cool and all, but I'm a father before anything. Yeah, absolutely. The baby can't always
Starting point is 01:22:58 be getting his hands dirty. All right, now, last but not least, there was some beef that was started on this show, and that is between Donnell Rawlings and Jack Thriller. Who started that beef?
Starting point is 01:23:08 Let's flash back to what was said in Donnell's interview. Why your name ain't big on the flyer? Because Martin Lawrence's name is the biggest on the flyer. My name ain't got to be. I don't give a f*** about s*** like that, Charlamagne. It should be one of the first, though, like Jack Thriller's before you. Jack Thriller's not on this tour, son. Yes, he is.
Starting point is 01:23:23 Yes, he is. When they did the first rollout, he wasn't a tour, son. Yes, he is. Yes, he is. When they did the first rollout, he wasn't a part of it. But if he is, more power to him. But I know his name before you. He's funny, though. I think he's going to kill you on that show. It's not a competition, right, Donnell? Yes, it is.
Starting point is 01:23:35 Damn right it's a competition. You know why there's no competition? Why? Because there's no competition. Okay, Donnell. Well, Jack Thrill posted it and said, Who in the hell left the gate open? If you funnier than me, then you can F my grandma.
Starting point is 01:23:49 Look here, Mr. Bitch Donnell Rawlings. You better hope you ain't gotta follow me on Martin Lawrence lit as F tour. I'ma set your ass on fire. You may not respect me, but you will respect these jokes. MF the gingerbread man. Gospel sex symbol. So now there's a little back and forth. Donnell put the prayer hands in the comments.
Starting point is 01:24:08 And Jack Thriller responded with hard eyes. Donnell is so sensitive. Me and Donnell have been going back and forth all weekend. He is really butt hurt over that goddamn interview on Friday. He told me great interview. Yeah, right. That ain't what he was telling me. Sensitive ass.
Starting point is 01:24:22 All right. Well, I'm Angela Yee, and that is your rumor report. All right. Thank you, Miss Yee. Up next to People's Choice Mix, Revolt. We'll see you tomorrow. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
