But if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that.
Starting point is 00:01:48 There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When a group of women discover they've all day to. the same prolific con artist. They take matters into their own hands. I bowed. I will be his last target. He is not going to get away with this. He's going to get what he deserves.
Starting point is 00:02:12 We always say that trust your girlfriends. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Every day I wake up. You're all finished or y'all done? Morning everybody is DJ NVJ just hilarious.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Charlemagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club Long and the Roses here as well. Yep. We got a special guest in the building. And he's late. And what's crazy is he smelled like so much weed. So I know the only reason he was late. The only reason he was late is because he was down to the smoking.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Yeah, of course. Not about nobody in the room time. Can I say this? Okay. You know what? I can't about nobody in the room time just down there smoking weed. Can I say this? I want to say this.
Starting point is 00:03:00 You're 100% absolutely right. You have snitch culture in you. You wouldn't do that. To any of the white shows. Yes, I do. No, you wouldn't. No, you wouldn't. No, you're not going to race.
Starting point is 00:03:09 He just did TV, and I bet you wasn't late for them. You're not going to race me. I like your hoodie. Thank you. I love it as well. It's really nice. It's got Mohammed Ali as a butterfly. Listen, first of all, don't come.
Starting point is 00:03:19 You got one for me? Don't say you got one for me, son. I couldn't wait for you again. If you got one for me, I apologize for coming at. Thank you, Dawn. Yes. Yes, Harriet Tommy. He gave me.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Get on it. You got a Harriet's got a Harriet Tony. Y'all. Period. Well, Donnell is performing at City Winery. Oh, it's as HBCU, man. On the 24th and 25th at City Winery. There's still tickets available.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Of course there's still tickets available. Gary Owens sold out immediately. He didn't have to come up here for money. Because that tickets still available. Why would you buy tickets to see Donnell Rock? What is wrong? Gary Owens sold out of me. Why would anybody buy tickets to see Donna Raider?
Starting point is 00:04:01 Yo! Yo! Listen. Yo, why was you late? Congratulations, Gary Owens. You're doing a great job. You're a funny guy. Oh, I forgot Gary Kim up talking crazy about you last time.
Starting point is 00:04:12 You know the Liddle was talking shit about me? Yes. But listen, you're doing great. Gary, congratulations on your wedding. You're doing great. Why do you think Gary talked crazy about you? Why do you think Gary was talking crazy about you? Why do you think so?
Starting point is 00:04:26 Why do you had that effect on other comedians? You know why I think he was, Gary was talking shit about me? Why? Because you called me and said Gary was talking shit about me. You did. You did, nigga, you text me. What?
Starting point is 00:04:36 You said, this is what you said. First are, are we going to be real or are we going to lie to people? Be real. Let's be real. Let's be real. You didn't text me and say, you didn't text me and say, what's up with you and Gary? First of all, how could I have a tone and a text? I wouldn't have with you and get up with you and guy.
Starting point is 00:04:54 How do you get that from a text? You know why? Because I know you and I know you're a smart ass, you're full of shit, you're an asshole. So whenever you text me, it's a guy, with an asshole tone. Well, if I did do that, can I say what you replied back? What do you say?
Starting point is 00:05:09 Can I say what he said? Here's the thing. You remember one time KRS once said, thank you, thank you, Donnell. Oh, this is fire. Malcolm Bac hoodie. Thank you, Donnell. Thank you, Donnell.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Open it. That is about the quality. Open it. Yeah, this is fire. Mine is already open. This is W.E. Lusane. Nice. Listen, let me tell you about Donnell
Starting point is 00:05:31 Riley's trauma. This is fire. Who is this? Who is this? Who's the designer? Who design is done? W.E. Lusane. W.E. Lusane.com.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Yes. Oh my God. Donnell bought weed. Yes. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. Don't change the subject. And don't talk to show.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Don't tell me now. Okay, Duff now. Happy 420, nigger. That's actually 421. Why you hating on the number, nigga? This is 424. Yesterday was 420, man. I've never seen you to tabby.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Yesterday was 420. Yesterday was 420. That weed musty as hell. Damn. Hey, it's going to, hey, it smell like your white castles. It's crystal. I got crystal. Crystal.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Crystal, Bird, Crystal. Snoozy Crystal and Arsburg in Baltimore, South Carolina. Listen, remember when Karras once said, I keep a dish record for any rapper? Of course. Just in case. That's Donnell with other comedians. So as soon as I text him and said, yo, why Gary was up here talking crazy about you, son? What do you say?
Starting point is 00:06:30 What are you flying? What are you fly with? Well, Donnell just went off. What did you send me up? What he replied with you? What he was up? You sent me up? You sent me up.
Starting point is 00:06:40 This nigga sent me up. Let me tell you story, son. This nigga sent me up, right? And he sent me a little piece of the show, right? I sent him a little clip. Yo, it was a clip. I'm going to play all the clip by this. Yo, I went crazy, son.
Starting point is 00:06:58 He sent me the little clip. But you should have known. Oh, man. I should know what? this nigga played with you all the time. Yeah, and he's how you see it. I don't know, for some reason it felt sincere this time, right? Because he said the clip.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Yeah, yeah, he said the clip. So listen, the niggins sit the clip, right? And the clip just, this clip just says, his Gary Owen said, fuck down there raw. And I was like, fuck that nigga too, right? I was going to go crazy. I didn't know it went off. So I ain't gonna lie.
Starting point is 00:07:25 I slid it Gary D. He said it. He said, I slid it is D. What did you say? I said, I don't know what I said. I don't know what I said. I said something like, yeah, nigga. I think I said, what I say?
Starting point is 00:07:37 What I say, I said, I said, damn, I got to go. You can open the DM. Open the DMs, Donnell. All I know is, Gary. All right. First off, don't know what I'm an old nigga, please? You are? What's wrong with that?
Starting point is 00:07:49 We're all old. I always respect you as my old day. He said, all right. We're waiting. What does you say? Your flashlight on. Shut the fuck up. Your flashlight is long.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Donna, why you're not. Come on, man. That's a lot of 20, man. There's a lot going on. Donnell's pulling the message up. You got it? Okay, hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:08:15 There's a lot going on. Yo! Well, first of all, this is what Charlemagne sent them. Hold on, no, before. You'll tell you. You report. Wait, wait, wait, wait. You mean, you give it to her.
Starting point is 00:08:27 I ain't say you, nigger. So this is what Charlemaine sent. Donnell. This is all he said. Can I play it? Funny. Oh, Donnell's garbage. His whole career is garbage.
Starting point is 00:08:34 No. Nothing without Dave Chappelle. Damn. He wore a Dave Chappelle necklace on your show. Damn. Where's the R? Oh, we're going to clip that one. Damn.
Starting point is 00:08:43 I ain't even sitting all that. I ended it after he ain't nothing with Dave. Nothing without Dave Chappelle. So then Donnell slid into Garyo with his DM. I didn't slide it to the nigga DM. By the way, the DM did the last long. Donnell did a preemptive strike on the timeline. First off, correction.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Let me say this. I did not slide into the nigga. You did slide it. I went to his deer. And he was a bit. baby you want to do the slide. He said the first message was at 1.48 p.m. You ain't got to do the times?
Starting point is 00:09:10 No, because it's two. He said one day comedians will go on platforms and be funny and not talk about other comedians. You are a very successful comedian and have found your lane and fan base. I guess that's not enough. Wish you the best. You've been invited to multiple cookouts,
Starting point is 00:09:23 but please don't bring your potato salad. Did he respond? No. He didn't respond yet. He didn't respond yet. No, no, no. So they did not know, no. So they die down right to him again.
Starting point is 00:09:35 Let me see him again. What do you say? What do you say? What do you say? I want to commentate. What he said? What I'm saying is? Your mic is right here.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Why? You're right? What I'm saying is, why he has a small spot like that, man? Oh. Oh. What I mean? I'm talking about that. What I'm trying to say is in the tone of that text, you can see I'm working on my mental health.
Starting point is 00:09:58 No, you're not. This is the way that text, it don't really sound like me. Yeah. sound like somebody hostage to me you know what Donnell said to me Donnell said to me Donnell said he's a hack he's a honky he's a honky who hats I didn't say he's a hack honky a honky no you guys I did not say I did not call him a huggy second board a man so Gary didn't respond right at 148 p.m so Donnell wrote him again at 419 p.m. and he said if you ever feel any to talk shit about me or have an issue with me
Starting point is 00:10:31 you can always pick up the phone and he sent his number he said I was man enough to call you and not call you out I know it's easy to create click bait then talk me and the man also if you have time you can Google me check a resume before and after Chappelle I'm sure this will be a screenshot and the topic for your next podcast have fun and what time was that? Wait wait wait don't let that burn that
Starting point is 00:10:49 so let me tell you how great Donnell is a madman let me listen listen give people time to say damn that was deep niggas no because hit them thing what time was that time again that was 419 Damn, that was deep. The first one was 148 p.m. Gary texted me at 204 p.m. And said, you must have told Donnell because he's already commenting on my page.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Donnell, you was commenting on his page and sent him to them damn at the same time. I had to pull up all the niggins shit. You need to go back to your therapist because that's a lot. It's not. It's not. It works.
Starting point is 00:11:20 It works. Y'all, this would. Okay, let me say. You called him a honky hack. No, no, no. This is what y'all don't understand. As a comedian. You're a comedian.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Right? And the thing that we defend the most, it's like, it's always like, is this nigga funny, is this nigga funny? Right. I know I'm funny. What? I'm not, what's where you?
Starting point is 00:11:41 Raised the seat. She said, she said this. I know your seat. I know your seat. Tell her to his mic like that, bitch. That in my mind. No, she got this.
Starting point is 00:11:53 She has to doubt me. I'm like, no. Let's come to a break. I'm like this. I'm here. I'll be a city winery. This Friday and Saturday. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Two shows. One show, seven to one nine and 779. What? One show, Fox. Wait, God damn it. What is one, two shows, right? Yeah, two shows. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:10 What I'm saying is, when my, y'all don't understand in the comedy world. Like, every, every situation got a word, like the N-word, the F-word or whatever. For comedy, the C-word is the worst word you could say. Chappelle? No. No, yo. What? What is the word?
Starting point is 00:12:30 What do you want to see? No, don't I'll come back, yo, please. No, you're corny. What the heck is that? What he's praying? Is it Rosewater? Oh, yeah. What did you just brook?
Starting point is 00:12:40 I'm on Charisorna, nigga. Go ahead. The worst thing you want to hear is the word corny. Yeah. Corny is a bad word. Because corny dismissed everything you did, everything you put into it. And niggas don't go on stage not to be funny. Corny is a very, very, it's fight words.
Starting point is 00:12:55 He didn't call him corny, though. He called you garbage. Yeah, yeah. And you know what's that? Corny. No. No. Him calling me garbage.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Garbage is worth the corny. No. This is my, please. A nigger called me any... Turn it the other way. Man, what were you smoking? Man, get on his mic. Thank you, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:13:15 That hat was eating him up. And where did you get that hat from? I like it. I like it. It's all right. What's wrong with my hat? Nothing is wrong with your head. I love the beanie.
Starting point is 00:13:23 I love how you got it. Dineette, look. I love it. Oh, no, no, no, no. I love the sweater. You told you could put the medium on. I didn't read his reply. This, what?
Starting point is 00:13:32 He replied to you. I ain't read it in a lot. Oh, this is Donald phone? Yeah. Oh, so he did reply. Oh, what reply was this? What did he say? Okay, I'll reply.
Starting point is 00:13:40 That he apologized. And then, I'll just put it just, I'll just say it like this. And this is the most honest thing I could say. And this is when you identify yourself as a hater to me. And I don't care what nobody say. Any nigger that ever says that I'm trash or I'm corny on stage has identified himself as 100% a hater or I probably
Starting point is 00:14:02 fuck this girl or something. You can't say that though, Don't know. You see me perform, nigga. I know, and when you see me perform, what happened? I'd be saying, Donno, I be saying, what do I do? With that said, what was that?
Starting point is 00:14:16 I'm trying to get your attention, because I'm trying to speak your language, nigger. I'm trying to speak your language, nigger. Your brother talked you like, I'm like, hey, yo, stop. You, brother.
Starting point is 00:14:27 I'm sick. I'm speaking E.J. This is how DJ is talking. Yo, E.J. be like, yo, E.J. be like, she's for the morning. Yo, E.J. He brings him out. He brings him out of a certain time of the day.
Starting point is 00:14:46 He put one bag in the other. He's out bitch and bitches. Yo. E.J is eating. He's eating and leaving no crumbs. Oh, God. No, that's right, Dono. EJ, okay.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Yo, EJ, DJ be like, I don't even give a fuck about bags. This nigga made me want to buy some bags. Diff, I was by the final bags, nigga. Yo, that big will be like this. He be like this. She's for lunch. He's got a bag for every meal, yo.
Starting point is 00:15:19 She'll be like, he'll be like, somebody will be like. And that would be like, nigga, that's how you is. They will be like. They will be like, they will be like, man. That thing will be like this, he'd be like this. He'd be like this. She's for the morning. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:34 She's good. Like if you're wanting. Don't play. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Be third. On the bag. Waffles, they'll be waffles and rumm and she's like.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Period. EJ going to be in your DM now. All right. Talking that shit. The dig got me want to buy a bag, d. He said, she doesn't come out. She was like, She doesn't come out and took evening.
Starting point is 00:15:59 This thing is, I mean, this bitch. You party with E.J. And you're going to talk about that man a lot day? EJ was on that bullj job. Wow. See, this is the ball. You know what I? Move closer to the mic.
Starting point is 00:16:12 It's the same as doing this. What's your problem? You know, she's the same. Oh, my goodness. But E. I'm just saying E. E.J. I'm just saying E.J. is E.J.
Starting point is 00:16:24 But I'm just saying Yes, but comedy is subjective Right So just because you ain't everybody Cup of tea, that's okay, Donnell That don't mean you're not funny That's a different term You are funny
Starting point is 00:16:32 That's a different term You all funny now You know what? You hear what you said? And listen to how you were You're learning to be a better communicator with me You said not your cup of tea
Starting point is 00:16:40 That's different from saying trash Not your cup of tea Is a better way of communicating And I don't know if you know this Through my text lately I've been working on myself I can tell you've been going to therapy Yes
Starting point is 00:16:49 I'm trying to heal And this is the most important thing that my therapist said to me, he said, Donnell, react however you want to react, but be authentic. Be your true authentic self. And that resonated with me. And I'll tell you why I resonated with me
Starting point is 00:17:10 because some years ago, I don't you like me talk, I'm talking about you. I do. I love it. Go. Won't you be quiet and listen. I am.
Starting point is 00:17:18 You know I'm going to forget what I was saying, nigger. You said a couple of years ago. A couple of years ago. You went to therapy. with the therapy. Be your authentic self. Shit, he forgot. Oh, some years ago, I had beef with somebody.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I know y'all said, that's every year. It was a rapper or whatever. I don't need to bring it up. You had beef with a rapper? A real rapper? A real rapper? You had beef with? Who had? I remember Donna Rollin's having no beef with? I don't know. Google that, Lauren. Let me tell a motherfucker's story, please. I'm sorry, go. Okay, I'm sorry. Sometimes you'd be having me with people in your head. Please. Yes. And I called you, I said, don't let this happen to me.
Starting point is 00:17:51 I know, but I can't. They bully you. They're Nobody put you in a whole conversation. I said, don't let these niggas distract me. All right, back to it. You have beef with a rapper. Right. And then what I wanted to say was, and I had made a response video, right? Got my niggas together and shit.
Starting point is 00:18:09 How old did it respond to you? Got your niggas together? You can't. We be responding with videos. Nigger, yeah, my man produced this shit. Right. Right. So, and then when they said, I, D, go.
Starting point is 00:18:23 And that's just what I said This is the first thing at my mom I said fuck you nigga Bitch that nigga Keep my name out your mouth Fucked out And that's not my authentic self Yeah
Starting point is 00:18:32 You know what I'm saying Yeah you don't have to get that vulgar You don't gotta get that vulgar But you know what I do This is how I respond to it You call Gary owns a honky hack That is you I said
Starting point is 00:18:40 A hack of a honky something I said Black culture has been good to Gary That's what I said Yeah Your translation Your translation Could be whatever you're saying
Starting point is 00:18:49 What I'm not going to do And I promise myself I'm not going to get into a debate with you with no purpose and no reason. Yeah, you have to ignore him. I'm not fucking with you. What would our relationship be if we didn't have debates
Starting point is 00:19:02 with no purpose and no reason? Jesus. I listen to you, Vint, Donnell. I pick up the phone and then he laughs. And then he laughs. And then he laughs at you. I googled.
Starting point is 00:19:15 He doesn't have any beef. He laughed with me. This nigger is sinister. He hasn't been no rapper. I saw you get the Nicki Minaj fans heard your feelings. What rapper are you talking? Ain't nobody hurt my feelings.
Starting point is 00:19:26 The barbs, ain't nobody hurt my feelings. Yes, they did. They did, nigga. You told me that they hurt your feelings, man. I told, ah. I did not say they hurt my feelings. You told me that you thought they was calling you gay because of the unicorn emoji. I said the barbs is not to be fucked with.
Starting point is 00:19:43 That's what I said. Yes. I said the barbs are not to be fucked with, right? Because they got mad me. You know why they got mad at me? Why? I was on one show, the late night show. And they had Nicky Minaj and.
Starting point is 00:19:54 And I said the problem Nicky Minaj got, McCarty B is Cardi B taking a shine. And the bar bitches, the niggas, who if, they went crazy. They was on my page for like two weeks, and they started putting unicorns on my shit. They'd be hitting you with unicorns and bull's eyes. I'm like, get these flounders away.
Starting point is 00:20:12 So I didn't have a problem with him. But what I noticed is that they calmed down for a while. And then they... Is that the rapids? You thought you had beef with? I know I had beef. I don't think it's important to say their name. It was not going to be...
Starting point is 00:20:22 Niggin, when I say, no, I mean, no. It's the man, it's not a woman. I see something when you were here. You were talking about Kanye saying you don't have no friends. Oh my God. Kanye didn't say, that he didn't got no friends even. You don't know. He got friends, but he'll fuck with him.
Starting point is 00:20:39 That's crazy. That's crazy. Kanye said I had no friends. You, listen, this is all I see. I can't listen to them. You believe everything you see on the internet? Yes, she does. Yes, she does.
Starting point is 00:20:49 She does. She does. I'm asking you. What's up with this tweet? You said, I haven't crashed out in a minute, thanks to my therapist. I still think I need time to heal. Breakfast Club trauma is real. I speak with the-you-know-I-Saint.
Starting point is 00:21:00 You know what that means? You know what that means? You ain't got to keep talking. I can tell you exactly what the fucking means. What is the mean? It's called Breakfast Club trauma. When you come up here and something happens that you didn't expect and you got to think about it for a very long time. And y'all create trauma.
Starting point is 00:21:16 That's not true. It is. No matter what, it hurts you and it follows you wherever you go. So why you keep coming back? It's not for you. It's for the people. these people right here because they really love it's for the people that's come to see me a city winery and did see me in boston made it 8th it's for those people yeah you know what's for no you
Starting point is 00:21:30 want to know no no no let me have opportunity to say what i want to say i'm not going to ask you can't help it it is yes you will you can't help but answer it ask you can't ask ask ask dave chappelle oh recently said that he might be interested in bringing back the chappelle show What does Donnell Rawlings? A pillar of that show think about that. A brick in the foundation of that show. Think about that. Because I actually feel like he cannot bring it back
Starting point is 00:22:00 unless he got the whole crew, including you and Neil Brennan. I think it's a good and a bad idea and the same idea. The good of it, let me say it. I told you you going to answer it. The good of it, in the most comedically intellectual way, I could say.
Starting point is 00:22:17 The good of it is that the show is very nostalgic. For whatever anybody wants to say about it. And then for people to always talk about me and just hold my career to only been to the Chappelle show, 33 years in this business, that was two years of my life. But in those two years, something happened that just fucking made history. Something happened.
Starting point is 00:22:36 You've had shows come on before that show. Something just the time period, the way people connected with it, how people used to go home and watch it, it just hit the culture. And as much as niggas think I'm riding the wave in the dick of Dave and Ashley, whatever, Canadian women are looking for more. More to themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders, and the world are out of them.
Starting point is 00:22:56 And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk podcast. I'm Jennifer Stewart. And I'm Catherine Clark. And in this podcast, we interview Canada's most inspiring women. Entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, politicians, and newsmakers, all at different stages of their journey. So if you're looking to connect, then we hope you'll join us. Listen to the Honest Talk podcast on IHeart Radio or wherever you listen to your podcasts. This week on the Sports Slice podcast, it's all about the NFL draft, and we've got a special guest.

So if you've ever supported me or you're just chasing down a dream, this is right where you need to be. Starting point is 00:24:56 And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends. either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same
Starting point is 00:25:31 prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed, I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I can't get away with making history. I can't run from it.
Starting point is 00:26:06 And the reason why you have other people that are on the show, it doesn't imply them that much because they weren't as much of a role on the show as like me, Charlie, and Dave was. And Neil. And Neil. 100%. Yeah, 100%. So, like, people, I've said this before, people, people think I'm supposed to get mad of the history I created.
Starting point is 00:26:24 Like what we did is what motherfuckers want to do. I haven't stopped doing anything since then. That shit was history. And if you make history, sometimes it's not a good idea to temper with it. You're just asking. Okay, I'm sorry. I'm going to, here's what we're going to do, Envy. You're going to get better.
Starting point is 00:26:40 What? And communicated. Because you stopped my thought. Sorry. And as a person that done radio, you should never do that. You'd be going left. As a person has a Spirit radio person, he should never do that, right? I agree.
Starting point is 00:26:51 That's not like it happen again. See. Why do you think it's a bad idea? The reason why? That's what I just said. Why didn't cut her off and say she just cut you off? You just explained this. Because I like her.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Okay. See. That's the difference. So, the bad idea is that people would be so critical of the effort that you're going to lose.
Starting point is 00:27:19 I don't know if people understand that. Because it's some people that, yeah, I want to see it. There's people like this. There's no way. Told you. That ain't shit. How are you going to do it with so-and-so? Charlie's not there.
Starting point is 00:27:29 Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's a whole bunch of reasons why just leave it as it is. You know, but the thing for me, and I kind of understand what they were saying, I'm around him a lot. And it's like sometimes we'll have moments where we say, what if? Like, I'll hang out with him in this spot at the shack. It'll just be me and him, right? I remember one time, nigg said, yo, D, if I wanted to do some skis, would you do it with me?
Starting point is 00:27:49 I was like, nigger, what are you? smoking. What I do with him? Hell yeah. Let me finish. Let me finish. You have to let him finish. And the reason why, this is the part that I can appreciate. Like, for the last three years, I'm doing the election or something to do with politics. Dave goes on the show,
Starting point is 00:28:05 right? Because he's like the voice of whatever's going on in that time. And just the little cameos that we do and the way people respond to it, I'm like, damn, what if? Because we did... SNL? S&L. You know, like,
Starting point is 00:28:18 not in no competition. Like, my My honest opinion, I can't see if even the thought of it coming back, I couldn't see it as every week you're going to tune into it. It's too much work. You know what I mean? It's too much work to produce the show with 16 hours a day. And then you got this nigga that make money anytime he wants. You too? Yeah, but what I'm saying, well, clearly.
Starting point is 00:28:41 You know, but. How long did it take y'all to do one to you? We probably did it in three months. Okay. That's a lot of time. But it's not just that. It's not like a comedy show. You just pop up and it's over.
Starting point is 00:28:50 It's not that. You got to invest into the performance, the writing, the editing. It's a whole bunch of things. Makeups. All that is. That's why I don't think it would be a good idea to do a series. Now, if a conversation. A movie?
Starting point is 00:29:03 What about this? I think, now, me, not speaking over the half a day, but where I could see. You've always said that, though. I've always heard you've always said you would like for y'all to do a Chappelle show a movie. Yeah, I mean. I've always heard you say that. Oh, one, I like a one-off. Just something that says, this is it.
Starting point is 00:29:19 You know what I mean? Like, this is it. And I'm ending it on my terms or whatever because as successful as that show was, Dave really never got a chance to say goodbye to his own show. You know what I'm saying? It was just like, and then everybody knows how that worked out. Dave went away for a while he came back and he pulled a move that niggas just can't do. This is why these niggas, when they be talking about, why is he the goat?
Starting point is 00:29:44 And they'd be saying, this show, well, he's not my type of funny. And they'd be like, well, now he's so political and won't. I'm like this nigga just he did it Yeah What do you think about Eddie Murphy When he said that he wants Eddie Murphy
Starting point is 00:29:59 To do the Charlie Murphy parts What do you think about that I don't What I tell you now That that sounds like a dream Because I don't know that would happen And we're not going to put that on air Well he said Eddie bought it up
Starting point is 00:30:15 He said Eddie is the one who told him That's what he said Yeah you see it He said Eddie told him, yo, you should do a Chappelle show movie or something. And so then Dave said, Dave said on the stage, he said, hey, yo, if I do that,
Starting point is 00:30:27 you got to do the Charlie Murphy part. He's not lying. He really said that to him. He said that. Lauren just reported. No, the reason why I asked that because I know that story and I wasn't supposed to say nothing.
Starting point is 00:30:37 He said it probably already. Nick, that's what I'm trying to say. I didn't see the same shit. That's what I'm saying. Can I ask you this? Now, now. What would that look like, though? No, no.
Starting point is 00:30:46 Would it be Eddie portrayed Charlie or just Eddie? or just Eddie doing his own true Hollywood story? I don't know, but that would be amazing. No, I'm telling you the truth, son. I heard all of this stuff before. Nick, then why are you asking me questions? I want you to say it about me? I'm saying, I'm saying how I want to answer the question.
Starting point is 00:31:00 I'm trying to get you some credit. You are a pillow. You are a pillar in this Chappelle show thing, and you're going to stop acting out. I didn't come here. I didn't come here. You didn't come here to what? Get some love. To get some flowers.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Jess. He can't even handle it. He can't even handle it. He can't even handle it. I didn't come in to argue. Dale Rollins, Neil Brennan, Charlie Murphy are very instrumental in Chappelle's show success. Those four created the Chappelle Show. A lot of those great ideas, a lot of these ideas that you're hearing about now.
Starting point is 00:31:30 You know, another thing I created, I just want to say this. I created Donnell Lamb. Go ahead. What did you say, Dale? Everything I just said. Yes, it was part of culture. Yes, the dynamic duo or the dreamtian. But what would Eddie look like on the show?
Starting point is 00:31:43 I mean, Eddie would look like Eddie. I think it would be for Eddie got so. his chops is so nice he can do anything. That's why we just, that's why I'm better just the shit on down that. He can't even handle
Starting point is 00:31:55 any type of love. You don't even give him time. This nigga, thank you. What he don't give me? He doesn't give you time. No time. Let me tell you something.
Starting point is 00:32:04 Time to what. Time to do whatever I want to do with it. Well, just do it now. Ain't nobody even talk to you. Well, first of all, I'm trying to get you to the wrong answer. Ain't anybody I was talking to you.
Starting point is 00:32:13 I was happy with you over in quiet. I've been quiet. See, this is a good problem I'd be having it. And Dr. Umar will be having. mad at me about this. What? I just gave you a whole HBCC sweater. HBCU. HBCU, because I know you HBCU
Starting point is 00:32:27 bitch, right? Wow. God damn. No, man, I'm just in the most positive sorority way you can say I meant it in a trick daddy I meant you in a trick daddy way. Bitch we got
Starting point is 00:32:47 pots. I meant it in the purest trick daddy way. I'm not helping you more. Don't look at this stomach. I'm not hoping you no more today. That's crazy. I don't want no help. I've been looking for signs of stroke.
Starting point is 00:32:57 I've been telling you, you know, spray the road with her. Now see, now that's the disrespect, but you ain't had to say stroke in here. You know how I look out for you. But that's a very, very bad, very bad joke. Okay. And you cut stroke. Can you ask you a question? Calm down.
Starting point is 00:33:09 If y'all bought back Shapel show, would you bring back the same characters or create new ones that reflect this era? Like, you know, the era of social media and influences fake out, right? I don't know. That's a hard thing to do because you think about it, this is how dope that show was. That show was so dope. The skits that we did 20 years ago
Starting point is 00:33:29 are in niggas algorithms as today. Come on. That's what I'm saying about history. It's shit like, yo, when did they do this shit? So this is what my guess, or I thought would be, of course, there's iconic characters on that show. I can see it.
Starting point is 00:33:45 And I'm not getting ahead of myself. Did I know any inside information or anything? but I could see how the character Buck Beautiful could be in a scene that's going on today It just answers your question What changed though? Because at one time you wanted it back One time you wanted the Chappelle show back
Starting point is 00:34:02 And you were full speed with it But now it seems like you did No, of course it was a great show You know and it was just like this It was something that I did It was something I did with one of the dopest people I enjoyed working there I enjoyed working there
Starting point is 00:34:15 But you said what You said what changed my mind This is what I realized, that you can't be so involved with someone's dreams that you forget what your reality is. And I knew what my reality is, away from the show, I'm a bad motherfucker. You know what I'm saying? And I don't want to argue with nobody about it. And I don't even need nobody to defend that. Anybody that has watched me live, and some people, what I realized the other day, Jess, I was somewhere, people think I'm an actor.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Some people think I'm a comedic actor because they haven't been introduced to me as stand. I did a show this dude was like, yo, yo, you one of my favorite comedic actors. I was like, nigga, I play around with acting. Yeah. But I do comedy. And he said, I've never seen you and I'm a fan now. Yeah. And that's just for me, when you said, what was the difference?
Starting point is 00:35:01 For me, it was like this. This is what's happening with me right now. And I'm like, not rebranding myself, but it's like, yo, nigger, this is what I really do. The BMF, all the stuff, I play around it. You know, it's tough to get those jobs. And when you get it, I'm not doing it to pay a bill or anything. I'm doing it. I get to play around and niggas get to see me on some shit.
Starting point is 00:35:18 You know, I met this older lady today. I was at the premiere for this movie I did with Earthquake, Shouted the Bedridden. And this older lady was like, man, I love you. I loved you. She was trying to say BMF, right? She's, shut the fuck up and let me finish the story, nigga. She got to be. Yo, yo, yo.
Starting point is 00:35:38 No, you really feel good about that, nigga. You, wait a minute. He said that. He couldn't wait to say that. I just said, shout old. Okay, she was probably about 75. Okay, okay. She said, she was trying to say BMF, but what
Starting point is 00:35:52 she say? She was like 90. No, she was like, oh, baby, I love you, that show, MBA. She called it every letter of the BFL. She said, baby, he was in FAB. But it resonated with her. Yeah. But then, going back to what I was saying,
Starting point is 00:36:13 my show, stand up, is the thing that I'm most passionate about is the thing that nobody can't say no or yes to and that's what I fuck with the most. Right. So is it, did Eddie, would Eddie Murphy say back in response when they were having a conversation?
Starting point is 00:36:28 You don't know when to stop asking questions. No, I don't know. When do the journalism stop journaling? Because he said, let's go at the end. So that gave the hope that, like, it actually, there's something there. I'll tell you this. I'd tell you this.
Starting point is 00:36:39 He said if Eddie was with it, let's go. If Eddie, you're willing to do the Charlie Murphy parts, let's go. But they're having a conversation. the movie comes up, he mentions that to Eddie Murphy, then what happens? Because it cuts off there. I don't know. That's a conversation they would have to have. But I'm pretty sure,
Starting point is 00:36:54 even if they got to that point, I'm pretty sure they've been hanging around like, yo, whatever, this, but, but, but I don't know that. I don't know any details other than if it was to happen, I would love to be a part of it. And, Neil, you got, first of all, you have to be a part of it. I'm not going to say that. You got to. Like, you got to have the, you at least, even if you bring in other ingredients, you got to have the main area.
Starting point is 00:37:16 that made the show special. You have to. You have to. But you never know. People think different. I mean, people think it might be something like, okay, how do we do this? And then, like, that was back in the day, but how do we, like you were saying, how do we incorporate today's where? And that could be with some new talents, too.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Yep. That's because that was my question. That's what it could be. It could be or it can't be. But it would be interesting. And I know, like, I know it would be nothing bigger on, in the world of comedy. I don't care at least when we can
Starting point is 00:37:47 come out. And it's got to be good. If it's good, then it'll have legs. It'll blow up. It'll be good. It'll have legs. But you know that's an automatic
Starting point is 00:37:54 top 10 right off the rip. Absolutely. And congratulations to y'all too, son. Thank you. Because y'all did something or y'all doing something that just what people
Starting point is 00:38:02 can stand in the world. Nobody wants to evolve. Nobody can fuck with change. Yeah. Nigs are stuck in one thing. Yep. Thank you. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:38:10 You've never seen proud of orthopedic shoes. That's crazy. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh, my God. See that. Show them shoes. Don't get quiet now. That's fire.
Starting point is 00:38:18 With the pink side. Period. I ain't never seen Prada orthopedics shoes. I like them. I didn't even know they made those. That's right. You have no style. Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:25 In the words of E.J., she's giving Prada. That's right. With a hits of pink with a pop. That's right. She comes out for breakfast club. She doesn't come out for everyone. I know that's right. She's for the night time.
Starting point is 00:38:41 But E.J. that's what I'm talking about. She's for the night time. Look at them. Legs, nigger, no lotion, nigga. Damn, why? I mean, I ain't have time, man. Fuck is that tough.
Starting point is 00:38:52 I ain't have time. Come on, Mark. I had to cry. Come on, man. Oh, shit. What's your question, Jeff? I got some way to go. Oh, this is what I want to say.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Jess was asking you a question. Just? She already had two questions. That's Lori. Lauren. Lauren. Lauren. He's high.
Starting point is 00:39:09 He's high as a kite. Why the fuck, nigger, you know what you sound like? What? You know who you sound like? I'm gonna tell you who you sound like, you sound like, let me tell you exactly who you sound like, sir. You sound like the haters I know, nigga. This is the haters is like,
Starting point is 00:39:26 trying to make listeners. He can't listen. He's talking up. No, this, he sounds like the haters, sir. Yo, you sound like this, nigga. This bitch hit me with the other day, right? Why are you whispering? I'm right if...
Starting point is 00:39:37 I'm by the mic, d'i-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. Everywhere. You bitch's every day. I saw you on drink champs, right? You was talking about Marlon and weighing something. She was like, you look drunk. I was like, bitch, I was drunk. It's going to drink champ, sir.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Yo, how are you mad at a nigga for getting drunk on drink chance? I went on TD Jake's champs, nigger. I wasn't on Orson, whatever that white dude, nigga, that we get the money paid. What's the white dude? What's the white church nigga day? Orson. Joe Osteen.
Starting point is 00:40:09 Yeah. I wasn't on that type of shit show. I was on drink champs. He's performing at the city Winery on the 24th. Oh, can I tell you what? Can I tell you why? I'm going to tell you.
Starting point is 00:40:20 What's wrong? You need the money, but you're getting money. Wow. Nah, y'all says you need the money. He's going to say you're getting money. He fucking trying it. He's fucking trying it. He's trying to.
Starting point is 00:40:30 He's trying to. He was trying to you a little bit. He's getting money. No, Donnell get money. Don't play with Donnell. We're getting money for 35 years. That's right. Okay.
