man. You know what I'm saying? Like when y'all look at each other today, what do you see that you couldn't see in each other when y'all was young? A lot of maturity, man. You know, especially in my bro, man. A lot of maturity, man.

We grew up. We grew up, man. And in fact, we know it's not about us as a one as about us as a whole. So it's all about, you know, men in relationships and being good, being good in life, great in life. How has that been on the road?

I want to be the answer to that same question. What do you see in Juvie today that you didn't, being in with you? I mean, he just said it, like, maturity, man. You know what I'm saying? Like, I see, man, I see somebody who I won't be like when I grew up. Don't make me old, though.

Don't make me old, though. But you don't even think y'all would get to this age? Seriously, coming from where y'all come from? Nah, me personally, hell, no. You know what I'm saying? I couldn't see past 25, for real. You know what I mean? Like, yeah.

I didn't think of it. I can say, I'm not going to say that I didn't see me getting old. I didn't think of it though I wasn't thinking of it How does it feel like Back on the road Back practicing back rehearsing To where y'all were before

From feeling from that as a kid To how it is now The same camaraderie Going back in the studio And how does that feel It's fun Man It's fun

It's kind of like starting all over again Having that same experience As from the beginning And just kind of I'm curious to see How the fans react You know That's that that thought

in the back of the mind really makes it all fun again. B.J. I mean, you know, me and Juve ain't never stopped working. Like, you know, and when I came home, he was like one of the first people that came to Vegas and locked in with me. You know what I mean? We got in the laughing. You know, it just went to cooking.

And, like, it's always a vibe. Like, when we get in the lab and, you know, when we get together, when we do shows together, it's just always fun. And do you remember all your verses, right? We went to Hove's show, and I'm like, how do you have a whole? Amazing.

Remember all these days for all these songs. Not just that. The way they was blending other songs into it, I was like, you know, sometimes, because Fresh do that to me, and, you know, sometimes I'm like, damn, I don't, we ain't rehearsed it. I don't want nothing new.

But yeah, yeah, I definitely, if you see me perform, I'm definitely, I don't really like that. I get thrown off on the lyrics playing, truthfully, so I definitely like to be, you know, half on in the end and the whole point, but Hope was impressive, bro. I don't know.

I'm not going to say that we're going to get up there and do it just like, That was impressive, bro. You know what I think? I think that's why I don't think he did a whole full 50, 60 day tour like that, because I don't know if he could do it. I would love to see him do it every night. Who want to when you that age and you got that much money?

Who want to be on the road? You would not be on the road. I'll be right. I'm not going to lie to you. The last tour, I was like, yeah, I ain't doing this money no more. It was a lot. It was a lot. So, you know, right now I'm going to keep it to like 20, 25.

I'm cool with that. You know, anything above that, that's too much. B.G. Did you look at Jovey as an older brother even back then? Or was it just like hot boys? Like, y'all was just peers. Nah, Juve, it was always the big group. Okay. You know what I'm saying?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because, you know, he was the elder in the group. You know what I mean? Keep on. Not the elder. Nah, no, no, no. No, no, no, Jube always was the big bro, though, man. Yeah.

You know, how you say, I was always the old brother. is one in the group but the cool the cool part about that I used to always like be like on on an attack mode on them like on some competitive competitive make you not trying to get them going like he pushed us you know what I'm saying to bring out you know the best in ourselves you know what I mean and you know he he was doing it before us right you know I was a fan of you before you know I got on you see what I'm saying so you know I learned a lot from him you know I mean yeah because he was already seasoned I saw the reunion when y'all did it in New Orleans.

And that was one of the biggest things. It was so nice to see y'all be fans of each other on the stage and just be so excited on the stage. So on this tour, because y'all are big fans of each other, how are you guys choosing what goes where, who's on stage when? Because y'all's sharing it now. It's pretty much, we all curated it together.

You know, pretty much Manifresh, kind of like running the show. He's kind of like the same thing. He's always, man, if Fresh up kind of way. He's going to run a show and go. He's going to be a show. We'd be kind of like letting them do this thing and kind of stay out of his way

and just really, you know. It goes pretty good, man. I could tell you this, you know, from city to city and from show to show, we got plans on having a lot of people coming out and show that's dope. And switching it up a little bit of hand now. All right, cool, look, switching it up.

All right, so we're going to get, I know we're going to get some hits, right? Yeah. So are we getting bowling point hits, too, though? Yeah, I'm feeling this album. I'm like, I don't listen, I love all the original tracks and all that, but like, Bowling Point, you dropped that. That shit took me back.

They had pictures twirking. I'm like, all, yeah, so you got to perform some songs from Bullen Point. Manifresh even looked at the list and said that. So we said, man, I might change one or two and put out. I'm definitely going to have some bowling points. Yeah, some, yeah, all right, cool. Hello, you're going to be on stage because that's a lot. I know.

That's a lot of music. We got an hour. And they got an hour. And they got an hour. And I think the way it's set up, we're going off and on. stage. Yeah. It's going to be fun.

It's going to be fun. It's not going to get the same thing straight through. Y'all only doing one verse thing because, I mean, y'all got, back then, songs were five minutes long. And they got so much. Back. I'm not. It's going to be like, Project, Jake, back that ass up, girl.

Get your roll on. It's not going to do those fast. And that was, and in the rehearsals, though, that was the thing. Like, because, you know, trying to figure out, man, man, I'm going to do this. How do this? How are we going to fit all these songs in, man? The people won't hear this.

Man, they won't hear that. They won't hear that. So, yeah. And that's what I mean. So every city not going to get the same show. Or is it going to be? I mean, from market to market, it might change. Yeah, you know what I mean?

It has to. It has to. It has to. It has to. We set up, we got this long list of a lot of songs. So we set up to change up everything. Then, like we said, you don't know who won't, who's going to pop out.

Every city we got somebody popping out. That's really great. Even with you, I think about like 400 degrees. Like 400 degrees is so big culturally, right? But sometimes it feels. It overshadows the rest of your catalog. So do you use this opportunity to show people? Like, let me show you what I got out of 100 degrees.

I do. I do get over. You know, sometimes I get on stage and I start singing songs and people be like, damn, I forgot he had that album too. I'm like, yeah, man, this ain't just 400 degrees. It's some other things going on. It's a noia clap and stuff like that around here that y'all are forgetting about.

I ain't forgetting. Who was the better rapper in 99? Juvenile of BJ. He's falling for that, man. He's trying to throw. He's not a big competitive question. Nah, man.

He's not. He's going to answer the question the same way. He's going to say he is. I'm going to say, I'm going to fall for that. So what could BG do as a rapper that juvenile couldn't do and vice versa? Man, I could tell you right now, BG got a hell of a voice. I could never have the voice tone that he got and carried.

I'll lose my breath. I have to breathe. I'd be amazed by the way his pitch and how he could just carry a word so long I'd be like, damn, man, I lose my... I could never make the... In his natural form, see? It's natural form. I can never make the type of hooks he can make.

Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, he's just a hookmaster. Like, you know what I mean? Like, for real, for real. Like, you know, his... Like, dealing with female records, like, I can't make the type of female records he can make. You know what I mean?

Yeah, but you're going to make. You make a murder song. There was a killer. There was a bad to be a real healthy competition amongst the group. It was, man. That's what I'm telling you. I used to walk in the corner of. Absolutely.

Unless, man, I ain't going to lie. Shorter used to go in the corner on. Yeah, not. Facts. It used to be me and you. And, like, you know, we'll team up against them. Like, we used to be in there of bread of beefing, like, really trying to outdo. Wow.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Man, Shaw did put a sound effect. Now, you'll go over the, yeah, like with the ad lips. Like, his ad lips was always, like, different. Nah, facts. Now, you got sound effects. And we'll go over there, man, let me, let me hear what you got. You can be like, no.

Yeah, like, you know, he's only the ears. Oh, yeah, I'm like, yeah, it was crazy. You aren't going to go in the boot. I tell me, I used to walk in there and see, she like, man, you start that shit all over. I'm about to tell you out. And I wouldn't have nothing. I wouldn't have nothing.

When we did the sound effects back then, that was before the whole sound effect thing was big. So y'all thought that first was like, what the hell he sound effects? I mean, bling. And I think that's where he'd get it from. He's a big Missy fan. He's a big Missy fan. So the bling and the sound effects and stuff,

I think he did. He probably did, you know, get a little bit of that. Yeah, but his ad lips was always different. Always, yeah, always. You got the ad libs, the hooks. Like, there's a lot of things from y'all that are still present today and new artists. What's one of the things from those sessions that y'all didn't really think much about,

y'all was just doing what y'all do, but you sit today and be like, dang, artists are still doing that, and we were just playing around in the studio. Man, oh, man. It's a couple things, but one main thing I could say is being melodic. Not saying we started it, but kind of like in the way that we did it, because we'll be melodic for a couple bars and then change back to straight rap. Yeah, right. We see cash now.

the whole melodic thing, like, it's big. It wasn't so big then, you know, right now. It's huge, you know, and not saying just because of all the tunes, you got some artists that was rappers back in the days when they started, but now they realize and they got a little tone that works for them, and they're running with it. I ain't mad at them. Did y'all do the melodic thing just because it was something you wanted to try?

I always thought it was because your accents and, like, y'all, the flavor of Orleans. I just thought it was cool at the tune. I don't know. It wasn't no reason to it. It wasn't no real reason to it. I just thought it sounded good. I ain't in line. Me personally, I got it from Pimp Daddy, right?

You know, Pimp was like the first one who used to be, you know, coming with that swing and with that, you know what I'm saying, that melodic flow like. Yeah. Well, I'm Pimp Daddy. Yeah, nah, right. He was an artist on the open to Pimp Daddy. But you know who was first? Everlasting Hit Man.

Everlasting Hit Man. And then me. Then me. Facts and Hitman was the guy that was first, you know, doing a bounce thing in New Orleans. You know, they had a history behind a bounce scene. Oh, a little bit. But shout out to him, too.

Man, he rest in peace. Both of me, they both rest in peace. Facts. Cash money had a guy back in the day's name, Pimp Daddy. He did his thing. Yeah. He did his thing. That was before I got that.

Did becoming successful as young as y'all became successful? Did he give y'all a chance to grow up normally? Man, I think we missed a lot of our childhood. I know for me with the name and everything, me traveling early with Jimmy and all of them, I missed a lot of my childhood. Wow. And I know he missed a lot of his childhood.

Yeah. He was around him and went. So, you know, everybody, man. So I've seen the whole process. How were y'all preparing for this tour? Oh, you wanted him to answer the question. My bad, my bed, my bed. What that, what first?

You're having all that success as young. Oh, no, no, no. No, no. I was, nah. I ain't had no childhood for real, for real. I mean, like, I, you know, I stopped. Are you ever a kid in New Orleans anyway? You got to grow up pretty quick.

Yeah, not, for real, for real. You got to grow up pretty quick. Yeah, I stopped being a child like about 12 years old, man. Nice, man. Yom, yump, because I signed with kids money when I was 13, and then, you know, I was, yeah. You got out of little trouble here and that, too, so. Yeah, yeah. Did y'all even have attorneys back then when y'all signed them deals or that?

Nah, nah. Man, he was an attorney. Yeah, I'm talking about eight. Hey, my mom signed my first contract. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, man, Staling in the living room. You know what I'm saying? Brought the contracts with my mom in the living room.

Man, look, I'm about to change your life. It was kind of like a blessing that somebody, had some pet work with your name on it, besides the principal or something. Leave on me how to teach you. It was kind of like one of those situations. That's like sign right here. It's a brand to go.

Yeah. And man, we're about to do this. Like, we, man, we're about to do this, man. You know what I'm saying? And we created that, you know, that family. But true for me. Go ahead. Go ahead.

No, I was just saying, like, you know, we created that family dynamic and, you know, that brotherhood. And it just, it was. Like, we wasn't even thinking about no paperwork for real. It was. We just were doing it for the love of the music, man. And, you know, the money and the success came for real. And the part, the crazy part about that,

I don't think we had real music lawyers in the water. Even if you would, y'all, I don't think it would really be able to read the contract. You know, because I had legal counsel for one situation, and it still was bad. So, you know, you can't. So y'all didn't even really understand the machine that Baby and Slim were creating. No. I don't even think they understood it at the time. They was just trying to get out of the streets.

If we had them in the room with you with us right now, they'll tell you the same thing. Like, boy, we ain't really know either. Nah. You're not big that $30 million deal. No, but that was laid on. Like, you know, we had a five or seven-year run before that. It didn't go. Not just that. It ain't all go how they thought it was going to go in the beginning, either.

Remember, you know, the first album came out. We thought we was about to, everything was about to start going platinum, and it didn't go like that. So, you know, we had to, like, go back to the drawing board. And it all failed on 400 degrees. I always tell people like, man, 400 degrees really was a group album that can't, just because I was next, they took all the best songs we had

and put them all on my album. These are facts, because when we was recording them, I didn't know where the songs were going. Yeah, you cheated with 400 degrees. Well, no. Some of them songs was Hot Boy Records and other things. Lucky me, I was second. Yeah, not for real.

Yeah, so we did, it was all the blessing, man. You know, I'm glad a lot of things happen for a reason, and the fact that we're still here and we're able to go out and do this tour. And I was still here and we're able to go out and do this tour. And after all these years later, man like it's nothing short of a blessing man was bird man was baby always supposed to rap

or is just something he just wasn't around y'all so much he was rapping before I got there he was rapping on your album yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah but really he just was talking and popping his shit you know what I mean and then yeah he's stumbled in the rapping but he's not really a rapper he called himself a game still right yeah no I'm just saying but yeah now he got a bunch of a bunch of hits like but um at Stana in heart

he's not a rapper like you know he's leader right you know what I mean and you know he direct traffic you know I'm saying and you know slim you know direct you know the traffic from the next level right you know what I mean but bird used to be that shit talking for us like that motivation we needed you know we come and yeah and let's make a song like this this gonna be the subject a lot not facts a lot of the time so you know he was that he was kind of like the coach facts like he can a lot of the concepts you know a lot of the direction that we was going with songs you know

telling us this and telling us that and just, yeah, he, yeah, he directed. They're giving us his self-experiences because you know he's from the street. So that part is, that part is all actual, factual. So, you know, he give us his self-experiences and shit, and we take that shit and put it on record and, you know, flip it our own way. The other thing I like seeing BJ, I just like seeing you happy to be home, man. Man. What's the part nobody tells you about coming home after 12 years?

The part that nobody tells me? Yeah. You know, everybody always celebrates somebody coming home, but you can't really tell somebody how to celebrate coming home until they actually touch them. You got to adjust. You got to feel like that. Yeah, yeah.

It definitely, you know, during as much time as I did, like, it's a real adjustment period. Like, you really got to, you know, retrain your mind, you know, to the free world, right? You know what I mean? And especially when I left, you know, social media wasn't as big as it is. Like, when I left, you know, Instagram, just came out. You can only post a picture.

Like, you know, like, Instagram live, you know, all this other stuff. So, you know, coming home and I used to hear about it and, you know, we have arms and a junk and all that, you know what I mean? But coming home and just, you know, getting bombarded with

everybody having an opinion and everybody having voices and everybody just, you know, attacking you. Like, you don't even know, like, just making up stories and like, it just was a lot to take in, you know what I mean? And so, yeah, that's the part that I wasn't ready for at first.

You know what I'm saying? I had to sit back and like, hold up, man, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me figure this out, man. You weren't prepared for how much the world had changed. Yeah, nah, nah, I wasn't, I wasn't, I wasn't, I wasn't. And I'm still adjusting, for real, for real. Like, I'm, I'm, you know, it's a, it's a process, man. You know what you're sure adjusting to?

Just, um, just the way people move, man, you know what I mean? And just, you know, you know, know how social media than really you know psychologically mess people up man absolutely you know what I'm saying like I'm talking about

you can talk like this and not get shot you know like it's kind of like being really disrespectful like I'm talking about man no consequences it's kind of it's consequences when you say shit on

social media and something happened you know it's consequences I always call the slick ratin Man, I see cats beefing with somebody. I never seen when I see cats beefing with somebody on social He ain't going to do you nothing. Man, hey.

These things about it. That motherfuckerah, da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And all this and all that, but then that same voice and then that same, yeah, you know, they're letting them people know like if something happens to him to get them back. He just basically let them know. No, facts.

Say you said the name and everything. Derrlin Johnson just motherfuckold He didn't touch me. I don't know what I'm going to do. You know what I'm going about that life. I'm like, I know what I'm on. Derek Joneswood. I'm just saying that.

I'm a real name. I'm just saying the government. So you're kidding. I'm a cell three, five, forty, three, two. Yeah, nigga. You live at five, three, 84. Claim. Yeah.

You know, I'm giving me an address up. Nigger will give all your personal information up, and you're like, you know, I'm not about to do you. I'm not about to do you nothing. That would be done. Crazy. That was a half. If you lose one hand on his head, he did.

But hey, you know, shout out to everybody bought the tickets to this tour. Big facts. Big facts. I do want to ask you, though, is the harder adjustment realizing how much the world changed or how much you changed? Well, I ain't gonna lie.

Like, I've definitely grown a lot, man. You know what I mean? Like, I'm definitely not the same person who went in. You know what I mean? Like, I came out. But I ain't had a lot. No choice, you know what I'm saying? But, you know, to grow up, you know what I mean, and figure it out because I ain't won't, you know, waste like 12 years in my life, you know what I mean, like for real, for real.

And it took me six years into my bed for me to get there, you know what I mean? Because when I went in, you know, I had so much time to I adapted that prison mindset. You know what I mean? Because I was going to be there a while and I ain't see the end in the beginning. You see what I'm saying? And, you know, I'm here, so I got to rock how they're rocking and I got to move how they're moving. So, you know, I grab my knife, you know what I mean?

You know, woo-whoop and, you know, I'm in the mix. You know, I'm saying, doing all this prison shit, you know, losing good time and, you know, just doing a bunch of dumb shit, you know what I mean? And once I got into it halfway through, I would like, hold up, man, it is a finish line for me. Like, once I started seeing the finish line, that's when I, like, kind of buckled down. and really, you know, started working on myself

and, you know, being like, hold on, man, you know what I'm saying? I really, because I in line, I thought it was over for me, you know what I'm saying? I didn't know, you know, that I was going to be able to, you know, come back out here and have another, you know, shot at it. Because, you know, dudes don't do as much time as I did and come back and get, you know, a second chance in this game. Like, you know, I mean, man, that's a blessing, but I am attached to a brand, you know, that defined the error.

You know what I'm saying? And thanks to people like him, you know, people like weasie, people like bird, you know what I'm saying, who kept the brand alive, you know, at the end of the day, we all joined at the hip. You know what I'm saying? I can't tell my story without telling his story. You know what I'm saying? He can't tell his story, you know, with somehow telling my story, you see what I'm saying? So, you know, that was a blessing for me too, you know what I'm saying, to been and built, you know, my career on side of, you know, great.

You see what I'm saying? man, that made it easy for me to come back and really, you know, get back in the mix. And, you know, I had solid relationships. And, you know, a lot of people who I have relationships with is still relevant. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like a lot of the OGs, you know what I'm saying? Like, dudes is still, you know what I'm saying? So, yeah.

and really steal your whole song. Like, all right, be creative, do something different. Don't even take the flow. Do something different with the whole song. Then maybe I'll clear it.
