It's DJ Envy, Jessv jess hilarious charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club we got a special guest in the building who never stops working hi hi how you feeling good to see you all good to be here good to be here just hanging absolutely yeah and congratulations mama this is super super super dope thank you so unfortunate you got to do it with these two absolutely if there's ever anything you need as far as help and getting them in line
Starting point is 00:03:11 i can't help you years and i still can't yeah yeah now roxy you in a new movie dutch too i am you play a lesbian gangster i do what the hell the lesbian got to do with me she's a lesbian you know i thought jess was gonna call out the lesbian but of course you would he couldn't wait you could not wait to put it out there gosh yes i do how was he playing that role because you're you're not a lesbian i'm not a lesbian but shout out to the whole lgbtq you know plus community um and all my friends that are uh it it was really really different i mean of course because you know but at the same time we all know what it is to be in love and we all know what it is to want love and need love so regardless of
Starting point is 00:03:57 who it is on the opposite side it's it's easy to tap into that that feeling of wanting to be loved oh that's a great perspective because it's not like you got to do anything physical you just got to tap into the emotion well she got romantic she got a little romantic she got out of jail she got she went in a little right well as soon as you get out of jail not that i've ever just got out of jail before in my career or my life but i would assume the first thing you're gonna want to do is you know yeah feel loved absolutely and that's what angel wanted angel wanted to feel loved as soon expeditiously in the words of ti uh she wanted to feel some love and she she linked up with her girlfriend goldilocks uh played by the kia uh the kia annis she's an amazing girl too yeah so yeah it was super fun the first dutch movie came
Starting point is 00:04:41 out 2021 yeah um do we have to watch the would you have to watch the first one to understand the second one you don't but if you're a fan of uh terry woods's book and what she created with the dutch trilogy which is what i really feel the fan base in the audience that loves from this series um you're gonna be surprised but you do not have to watch the first one to understand but i would say watch it because Lance gross, Lance gross is, you know, a friend and he's amazing and what they do.
Starting point is 00:05:10 And, uh, but this is angel story and she's getting revenge for, for Dutch, you know, and it's what she goes through and her journey. And it's, it's dope because it's a female led cast.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Um, I'm at the reins this is my first time ever starring in a role being up there number two on the call sheet because dutch is number one on the call sheet so but it was a really really really dope experience um and shout out to manny who we all know manny haley for manny you know for creating these experiences to put us on the screen so it was really dope how does does your hosting background help you with the acting? The hurry up and wait, man. The hurry up and wait, the hurry up and wait, the patience. And, you know, the professionalism of how to act on the set.
Starting point is 00:06:01 You know, you just already know what those moving parts are. But as far as acting goes it doesn't it's it's yin and yang it's you know acting is really raw emotion and where you pulling these things in from from experiences like angel is a very dark she has a very dark history and past from being you know sexually molested from her father at a very very young age and um always being betrayed and um taken advantage of by men and so she has this hatred for men uh that it's like okay Roxy where do you some some things of my past I don't want to revisit but I had to revisit for this role and then there was some things that's like where do you tap in to get this energy and this anger
Starting point is 00:06:44 and then you find things you know as life but we already up there so there's so many experiences that we've had that you could find like a substitution or something to help you get into the role and the character yeah is it completely identical to the book or is it things that were left out or um i think it's a good representation of the book you know i think it i think it runs parallel to to what the book the book is and um what the what the story what the story tells yeah how would you describe how respect influences angel's actions throughout the film because it seems like she's seeking respect that's all she wants that's all she wants she she she not only uh she thrives off of respects but i think she also gets a high off it.
Starting point is 00:07:26 It's almost like an addiction. It's not even like, it's like if you cross Angel, anything, by any means necessary, it's like you out. It's almost like the godfather. It's like, well, he's got to go. She's ruthless. She is completely, completely ruthless uh and what i what i enjoyed doing was playing something that is completely opposite of who i am yeah of who i am it's like i mean you know me i don't think i don't think you guys could ever picture me like just blasting off a gun and like i wouldn't say
Starting point is 00:07:59 ruthless shooting up shooting up a corner like it's not roxy you know did you have to learn how to shoot? I mean I already knew how to shoot that thing I'm a registered gun owner so I wish I would at my house you gotta do that if it's a single woman you gotta do that so yeah I knew how to that was actually the funnest part on the set cause
Starting point is 00:08:19 that was the part that shocked some of the prop guys they were like okay put your hand like this hold it here make sure this is yeah okay pop pop pop that was the part that shocked some of the prop guys they were like okay put your hand like this so it was fun it was a lot of fun what about respect as far as like in your real life have you ever felt like you had to demand respect in this business i think all the time yeah i think all the time i think i still fight for it even today even being you know on a platform like good morning america and um and gma3 shout out to my family over there but you know we still we still as a culture still fight for respect in those big rooms and in those big meetings because people don't think to take us seriously when we are a driving force in this economy and we are a driving force to a lot of decisions that are made politically.
Starting point is 00:09:08 You know, it's just, it's amazing how we still don't get the level of respect in those boardrooms, just like how Jay-Z says. You keep on fighting, you keep on showing up until they call you CEO, until they call you to Boston, until you, you know, and then they call upon you for uh decision making things you know until they're scared of you when it's an election season and they're calling you a threat you know it's like those kind of things that it's like you have to demand respect so yeah me personally roxy i mean in my journalistic career in my hosting career i'm i'm
Starting point is 00:09:42 always fighting to be like what i'm like tyrese what more do you want for me like what more do you want me to do like honestly there's like there's nothing else that i have i should have to do but you know you always have to still tap dance i feel like y'all i feel like you won just because you're still here i got bills to pay you in movies you're still here yeah yeah and how do you how are you doing all that of course you're doing the hosting stuff you're doing the acting and then you're back in school yeah you went back to your hbcu yeah bowie state university what made you do that um well first of all you guys we always used to tour the hBCU route. And it was always the most fun going to HBCU campuses.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Me specifically going to Bowie State. They have an amazing communications department. I connected with them. I vibed with them. It was always a goal for me to go back and be a college graduate for my family, for my lineage. Most people don't know when in the middle of school, you got a job offer in Boston and you said I'm out I'm out yeah I'm out and it was actually Russ Parr shout out to Russ Parr that told me that you know you could you're gonna starve you're gonna you're gonna have pizza and ramen noodles every single day he's like but you can't always start in a top 10 market
Starting point is 00:10:58 Roxy you can always go back to school and so that launched my radio career which which is where you and i knew each other for so so many years um and if it wasn't for radio and i think people don't people have more of a respect for radio now especially because of the culture shift and what you guys have created what the elvis durance has created what like you know the legends have even russ parr and steve harvey's everybody russ parr at the end of the day you got to give the man the respect um what they've created is that people forget that radio is really the basic foundation of what television and live television is if you can be in a box and pretend to talk to a bunch of people that you can't see and be that creative then you can do that on camera
Starting point is 00:11:46 if your face is friendly for camera but that changed though that has changed a lot of radio faces back in the day a lot of big back personality the game has changed a lot yeah but remember that used to be a thing they were like, you got a face for radio. But I always credit my radio career to everything. It wouldn't have been. I wouldn't have got 106 and Park if I didn't. Stephen Hill was a fan of radio personalities. Came from radio.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Came from that station in Boston. So free. Came from radio. It's just like a lot of people come from radio and they they just transition and go on the television. And salute to Russ Paul. We don't Russ Paul don't get the credit. He really doesn't. You know how many people Russ Paul put in movies early?
Starting point is 00:12:34 Russ Paul was doing it before Tyler Perry was doing it and doing those movies and like, you know, before anybody was trying. You're right. Kevin Hart. Yeah. He put you in a movie? Yes, he did. Tyler Lepley. was your what was your part in that movie uh I played I did two like two respawn movies
Starting point is 00:12:49 I forgot now though what I did it was so long ago but no he don't get the credit he deserves for putting a lot of black people in movies earlier and people that nobody was even expecting to be these stars that they are now exactly yeah because I did me and Tyler did a movie together called ringside i might have been his lackey
Starting point is 00:13:10 sounds about right yeah he was a boxer i might have been the like this guy from the jump so how did you get into character what was your substitution and what was your motivation i think i was sitting on his lap shoulders no i'm not saying i did yeah i just feel like that's what it felt like felt like something you would do i can't say it y'all did uh did the movie dutch 2 did it shift your perspective on womanhood uh in what way because you know the like i saw you say that uh well no i wonder what your initial perception of your own strength was prior to embodying the role of angel i think angel empowered me a little bit more uh i think angel made me stronger because
Starting point is 00:14:06 again like she commands i'm not like it and i'm sorry to face this way because i've known them for so many years but like y'all know me i don't walk into a room loud i'm very respectful i'm very quiet you know she walks into a room loud she walks into a room commanding respect but it's not like that commanding it's i walk into a room yeah i want respect but i'm also very i feel like approachable she walks in like jay prince that's what i mean you know your perspective on yeah or jimmy henchman or like like these people that like i know and it's like that's like by any means necessary people that just you don't you you only hear about their reputation but you don't really you know why they have this reputation or why they're they got this street cred of respect uh oh that's what you
Starting point is 00:14:59 dove into in the movie and so yeah like i dove into my new orleans roots i dove into like knowing what it was to grow up in the box and you know every ward was different um i tapped into my days in chicago and knowing whether you had to wear the hat to the left or to the right or who you who you was dealing with like you know uh my life has run parallel to this lifestyle but just you know blessing that I wasn't caught up in the middle of it but I'm not going to act naive like I don't know what's going on in the streets and that helped
Starting point is 00:15:32 me with the character of Angel but Angel is like I'm scared of her I'm really scared of her like she's I wouldn't like a Griselda Blanco type she's got a very very very short temper. So in the movie, you don't give respect that easily. Right. I remember when I think Roly Poly, whenever he came, he bought you some drinks like you didn't show respect.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Are you like that in your real life where it's like you have to earn it before I give it to you? Because that's how she was in the movie i respect everybody it's kind of like in class i always thought like you start off with an a and then you start losing that a throughout the semester i'm gonna always do unto others as i would have done unto myself i'm always gonna treat everybody with the utmost respect whenever i come up but then when you start trying to play me that's when then i'm like now i'm not a pushover like you're not gonna you're not gonna just take advantage of me because I'm like, why would you want to even take them? I'm a sweet person. Why do you want to take advantage of me?
Starting point is 00:16:30 Why would you want to treat me bad? So if, if somebody were to, you know, start disrespecting me, then I'm, you know, I'm going to stand up for myself,
Starting point is 00:16:37 but angels, she'll just shoot you. She ain't got time. She's just, she's not throwing hands. She's shooting. She, she's got no times for explanations. So, and that's, that's who she is time she's just and she's not throwing hands she's shooting she she's got
Starting point is 00:16:45 no times for explanations so and that's that's who she is she's just that's great there's a scene in the movie where angel says to her girlfriend that she don't need love and that she values loyalty more yeah how does roxy feel about that what do you feel about the importance of loyalty comes love. I think that loyalty makes you love somebody because you wouldn't want to betray that person. So I value loyalty more than love because anybody could say they love you. That's right. Anybody can throw those words around anybody could even do the actions nowadays and play like they love you but secretly be doing some stuff in the background you know that you
Starting point is 00:17:32 find out about and then there goes the loyalty and the trust so for me loyalty and trust is above love because with loyalty and trust comes the love and and it comes unconditionally. And I'm a Scorpio, and I'm a Latin woman, so I love unconditionally. But once you kind of betray that love and that trust, it's like, how do you go back to that? Like, it's never, ever, ever going to be the same. You know, it's a challenge. What do you think, Jess? Loyalty over love? Love over loyalty?
Starting point is 00:18:02 Hmm. Loyalty over love. Mm-hmm. I respect loyalty way more than love like she said you can love you can say you love anybody you know what i mean but the actions don't amount up to it then because they go hand in hand but it has to be a bar like set of loyalty for you to even really mean that you love me you get what i'm saying and y'all hey, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show,
Starting point is 00:18:28 where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
Starting point is 00:19:33 I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Why can't I trade my country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warheads. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help!
Starting point is 00:20:06 We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:20:22 As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments.
Starting point is 00:21:00 Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On Thanksgiving Day, 1999, a five-year-old boy floated alone in the ocean. He had lost his mother trying to reach Florida from Cuba. He looked like a little angel. I mean, he looked so fresh. And his name, Elian Gonzalez, will make headlines everywhere. Elian Gonzalez.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Elian Gonzalez. Elian. Elian. Elian Gonzalez. At the heart. Elian. Elian. Elian Gonzalez. At the heart of the story is a young boy and the question of who he belongs with. His father in Cuba. Mr. Gonzalez wanted to go home and he wanted to take his son with him. Or his relatives in Miami.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Imagine that your mother died trying to get you to freedom. At the heart of it all is still this painful family separation. Something that as a Cuban, I know all too well. Listen to Chess Peace, the Elian Gonzalez story, as part of the My Cultura podcast network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:23:07 Join me for Gracias Come Again, a podcast by Honey German, where we get into todo lo actual y viral. Listen to Gracias Come Again on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I've been married for a long time. You could love your wife one day and not like her the next day. I'm about to say, me and him are not married. That's just a rumor.
Starting point is 00:23:28 That's just a rumor. It's not true. I'm glad you said that. That's false news. I said, yeah, you know what? You guys have been work husbands for a very long time. Right. And so, you know, you could love somebody one day and then you don't like them the next day,
Starting point is 00:23:42 but you're loyal to that person, you know know and you're honest and respectful to that person even on the days that you can't stand that person to me that goes more so like michelle obama said every day ain't gonna be 50 50 some days it's gonna be 80 20 some days it's gonna be 10 90 some days you won't have nothing to give but if you respect that person and you're loyal to that person, you won't sidestep on that person and do stupid stuff. I agree. Loyalty, trust, respect, honesty. To me, that's the equation for love. Like I can't say I love you if I'm not any of those things to you.
Starting point is 00:24:16 Right, right. Yes, I agree. Going back to 106 and Park, because you briefly talked about it. Do you see a docuseries in the making for that yeah i don't know why bt hasn't done it yet oh they've done we've done um we've done the reunions you know we we you know i talk to free uh a lot yeah and i talk to terrence all the time you know uh jaleesa and i always keep it like we all we all still uh but i don't i don't i don't know why they wouldn't i mean it's a lot of stuff i think there's a lot of stuff that has gone down and i think that because a lot of things that also
Starting point is 00:24:57 as adults that we look back and we're like what the hell what what are we doing but i'll say this though what was the craziest thing you said you look back what was one of the craziest things that you look back at no it's just it's like um you know 106 Park was the best job in my entire career that's what I grew up with that was the best show
Starting point is 00:25:17 we was watching that in middle school yeah it was a party it was a party every single day um why was it the best job you know why because and we don't we don't give bt enough credit for this we bt at least in my experience in my in roxy diaz's experiences treated their talent respectively as the stars that they were or are. They treat the culture as the stars that they are. You don't get the right dressing room when you go.
Starting point is 00:25:55 You don't get the green room, the big, big green room. We don't give BET enough credit for that because it wasn't until I left BET that I was like, oh, I'm nobody in this business oh they it don't matter what i did on this show for seven and a half years i'm new in white hollywood i'm new in la and you have to fight for your respect and earn your respect and you learn what it is to be a minority in this big game of hollywood it's changed now and it's evolved like 106 park was shit so long ago now yeah you know we almost talking 20 years now like you know so it's it would be interesting to see the perspective of we've all grown and we've all
Starting point is 00:26:42 done different things with our career in our lives and the appreciation that should probably go back to want to BET. Yeah. And to what that show was and how important it was for the culture. Everybody always says, is there going to be another one of six and park is now that they won't be no who's watching videos. Who's doing that. But I do believe there was a format there to do like a grown night show,
Starting point is 00:27:04 talk show. Yeah. BT kind of needed yeah but y'all weren't competing with everything that you got to compete with now like there wasn't social media wasn't what it was now like tv mattered yeah you sat down at six o'clock to watch 106 to watch videos to watch the interviews that's where you got that kind of content y'all used to make me mad because i didn't like playing the whole video but but but the guest was dope it was like a party like i'm telling you we used to like go home and watch it we are i was in middle school i am young but i was in middle school and they used to cut it on in the um cafeteria for us we used to watch it during lunch like yeah yes and about lunch at 6 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:27:45 Oh, the repeat? Yes. I was like, how y'all have lunch at 6 o'clock in Baltimore? Girl, listen. Our principal loved it. They recorded it for us, and they would play from the day before. Wow. Like, no, we used to watch that every day in middle school.
Starting point is 00:27:59 That's crazy. Absolutely. I was like, this is part of Baltimore public school curriculum. That was in the cafeteria. We was talking about us lunch. And it was music education category we were talking about that's lunch and it was music education that makes sense it wasn't math
Starting point is 00:28:11 it wasn't learn how to count to ten when you talk about things that y'all probably look back on now there was a time where you went viral before going viral was a thing you had walked off the set is this the mess part of this is not this okay let me brace myself no because i'm scared of these that's the one you gotta no i just i just wanted to know this
Starting point is 00:28:36 because i remember this um you walked off the set um during a live taping and what what happened was it like anything with you and i have said so many times that was fake it was planned well i wanted to know for me because it well okay it was ma'am okay yes i'm sorry to burst your bubble junior high in baltimore lunch and you were a single tear came down as i walked out the set terrence and i were on that show nobody realizes for three or four years straight with no vacation and we we never took a day off and so it was it came to it came to that time i was like okay can we take it can we take a week can we go live our life you know like and uh the master man uh mastermind at hand who came up with that idea
Starting point is 00:29:25 was like well y'all can't one just can't be gone on vacation and then the other one was we gotta create a scandal as all it was it was literally some of the best acting that we've ever done I didn't know that was fake really?
Starting point is 00:29:40 we've said it so much and it really you know it really hurts me too like when it does come up because it comes up a lot and i guess i don't say it enough that it was fate because it really is it really is more um it doesn't shine a good light on terrence's character and terrence is not that guy terrence is a stand-up dude he's never treated me with no disrespect and yeah we've clowned and we've clowned and we've joked and we've said things as we all do once you get into a comfortable state you know uh where we we were like brother and sister for so long so when people do ask me that question i'm so quick
Starting point is 00:30:15 to say guys it was fate because terrence would never ever ever disrespect me and let alone maliciously try to hurt my feelings you know that doesn't come from the the the breed that me and him are you know or the relationship that he and I have because at the end of the day and I always tell TJ this is that nobody went through what we went through we were two kids off the street that just got thrown into major television on a major show and we had to fight for what we had and nobody went through what we went through and at the end of the day you either gonna be at my funeral I'm gonna be at your funeral and one of us gotta say something
Starting point is 00:30:52 nice about each other so we gonna be in each other's lives forever and it's because of that show but yeah it was fake where'd y'all go on vacation I hope it was nice where did we go I don't even remember but the fact that y'all had to do that to get a vacation it was just to it was nice where was where did we go i don't even remember but the fact that y'all had to do that to get a vacation it was just to get yeah and we got ratings yeah yeah we were
Starting point is 00:31:11 rating hungry you know every day you check what was the rating yesterday before every single day it's like waking up on the scale and seeing if you gain weight overnight like that's literally what it was like we was addicted to ratings so it was ratings that was it you know on the rap city docu-series they said it was a beef between rap city and 106 and park i would it was right i don't remember if rap city was kind of still around when i was on 106 to be honest because it was like that transition because oh yeah that was already not for y'all yeah yeah yeah so i wouldn't know about that um i want to know about that it just came out the other day that they were talking about aj's dreads fake and it was like they had to sew in or something like that i've seen that
Starting point is 00:31:54 too i did hear that but i don't know if that's true either so i wasn't around for for aj's days either they always looked real to me yeah and his And his head was big. So it was like, you know, they went with his head. Yeah. Oh, look. I stay away. I stay away. Take a real. My hair was sewn in.
Starting point is 00:32:13 I'm dealing with the stress alopecia spots from 106 Apart right now. We want to talk about that. What? Your hair goes through it. Girls' hairs go through it. That's seven and a half years every day. Oh, yeah. With the flat irons and every different product. and wigs wasn't in back then that was so ends yes oh all
Starting point is 00:32:31 that tension yes oh my god yes yes you always look good thank you baby let me be a worse guest the person that you hated interviewing or was difficult i should say hate is a strong word she's not she's not in dutch right now yeah i don't use that in my vocabulary she not in Dutch right now I don't use that one in my vocabulary but I wouldn't say difficult it's just like you got those awkward ones like on that show in particular it was Marshmello
Starting point is 00:32:56 I'm like why is he here the DJ? yeah cause he doesn't talk and there was no representative there to like I'm like what what do we do he's just standing here there's no gesture or anything like it was like weird it was great to have him there but still it's just like why um yeah roxy go interview him what do you want me to do his life his marshmallow should have changed colors for his like emotions or something like that back in the day or something like that to give us a hint but no that was like probably the
Starting point is 00:33:28 weirdest and most y'all know me i'm too politically correct to to to mess up a potential future interview yeah what did you keep in just you your longevity because i mean you got brand partnerships with you the tequila and i'm doing a really, really dope show for Billboard, actually. Billboard, yeah. It's for Billboard. Billboard has partnered with Tres Generaciones Tequila, and we're going to six different cities across the country, and we're looking for the anthem of that city, but also the new anthem,
Starting point is 00:34:03 so the new talent that's coming out that's, like, creating whatever the vibe is for that city but also the new anthem so the new talent that's coming out that's like creating whatever the vibe is for that city so of course if we go to atlanta you know welcome to atlanta is the staple but what is that new atlanta anthem now you know same with cali who is that person going to be in la who's that person going to be in houston you know who's that person going to be in new york so this whole year billboard and tres naciones is going to go in houston you know who's that person going to be in new york so this whole year billboard and tres naciones is going to go across the country i'm hosting the show and you know music is what i love and so we're going to go find those those anthems and it's not just hip-hop it's everything so it's like it might be miami might be you don't know it might be pitbull
Starting point is 00:34:41 with something crazy uh or flow rider you just we don't know so uh so yeah that's what we're doing now too what do you love better hosting or acting hosting still hosting i still love being i still love being on your side of the and being able to tell our stories and giving uh giving us a shot to tell our stories to have honest open and safe conversations it's always been it's always been my goal i like what sherry represents like what ellen degeneres represents i like what you know sunny hostin represents for us i mean i like honesty and safe spaces yeah because when you want that person's bad side and they want to be mean, it's not fun. And I've never been that person.
Starting point is 00:35:29 I'm not mean. You are. I was. I remember when you used to say TJ was gay. Remember that? And now we gay. I remember that. And now you gay.
Starting point is 00:35:37 And now I'm gay. And now you gay. No, for real. For real. And now I'm gay. No, you're right. You're right. I remember Terrence.
Starting point is 00:35:43 I remember when I came to 106th and Parkland Windy one time. And I don't even remember what I said. I just remember Terrence came in there and Terrence was like, yo, man. He said, yo. He said, yo, if you say something about my co-host again, I'm going to punch you in the face. What? You know what? I was like, what?
Starting point is 00:36:00 That's what I said. Because I couldn't believe he came up to me and said that. I said, man, I'll fuck you up in this dressing room and then the security and everybody came to me and taryn's had to go in the bathroom and talk you never told you that story no he came to me because of you but you never talked about me you always talked about him let me tell you when i when one moment that always stood out to me that made me realize that you never know who you're going to be working with for or doing project with in the future because i remember you and tj really never used to get along way back and not to drudge that up and i say to say because i remember he was executive
Starting point is 00:36:37 producing a show that was supposed to be on bt and it was the TMZ style of all that and he wanted and then y'all he wanted you and I was like look at these two now working with each other and before they was they was ready I guess they was in the bathroom ready to throw but I was an asshole though I remember seeing
Starting point is 00:37:00 Terrence at 106th and Park y'all was in Harlem it was it was Mission Impossible or something it was something y'all was doing in Harlem and I went up to Terrence had 106 in park Y'all was in Harlem It was It was It was Mission Impossible Or something It was something y'all was doing In Harlem And I went up to Terrence I said I'm gonna take your fucking job
Starting point is 00:37:10 Like why would I say that I don't know Cause you didn't get it It was at the time Yeah You didn't get it You didn't get it Mission Impossible
Starting point is 00:37:16 That's what you What you mean He was gonna take his job What was he doing I was Wendy's co-host He was 106 in park Yeah We were broadcasting from Harlem
Starting point is 00:37:23 And I think it was the Indiana Jones. You an asshole, bro. Yeah. I didn't even want the job. No, it was Mission Impossible, because I remember Tom Cruise doing the Young Jock dance. Oh, that wasn't us then. We wasn't. That was Tigger.
Starting point is 00:37:32 No, it wasn't. It was y'all. No, I promise. It wasn't us. Terrence was there. Y'all was hosting on a figure park. He might have been there. No, that was Julissa and AJ.
Starting point is 00:37:39 I mean, Julissa and Tigger when Tom Cruise jumped on the couch. Yes. Terrence was, because I went up to him and said, I'm going to take your fucking job. I hate arguing with men. I'm telling you. I really do. Well, maybe it wasn't Mission Impossible.
Starting point is 00:37:50 It was something in Harlem y'all was doing. I just told you what it was and you didn't want to listen to me. You're right. You did. Just clear up one other thing. Charlamagne tells this story about

We said this story the last time I was here. I don't know why you're clearing it up. I'm not clearing it up no more. I neverlamagne always tells me. We said this story the last time I was here.
Starting point is 00:38:05 I've cleared it one time. I don't know why you're clearing it up. I'm not clearing it up no more. I never heard it. All right. Well, what happened, Jess, when I first moved into the building, the woman at the front desk told me I need to watch out for Envy. Because Envy, there's a guy that lives in this building who is about your height, both
Starting point is 00:38:20 bald-headed, same complexion. And, you know, she was basically saying Envy got a type. And she was like, Envy being there, and I've been hearing weird noises come from the room. She was like, I hear sex sounds coming from it. That's what she said. I don't know if she said that part. I promise you that's what she told me. They always say this story.
Starting point is 00:38:35 That's true. I've never even seen the person that you were talking about. All right, good. See? Thank you. It's messy. messy well Roxy we appreciate you for joining us thank you for the time guys angels revenge BET plus appreciate you Roxy
