Starting point is 00:09:38 Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Anywhere is always long. Listen, you always got to stretch your Monday off right. I had a bit of a hassle getting to work this morning. Why? Well, there's three different bridges I could
Starting point is 00:09:53 take to work from Brooklyn to Manhattan, and the bridge that I normally take, by the time I got there, it was closed. They didn't tell us. There's no notification. At five in the morning? Yeah, it was closed. I have no idea why. So then I had to turn around, and then, you know, when that happens, everybody has to go find a different route. So I ended up in all this traffic to get to the other bridge.
Starting point is 00:10:11 You know, on a Monday morning, you're always like, okay, let me just put on some Miguel and relax. Wusah. Yeah, I have to wusah because I don't like to have road rage. I have to talk myself down all the time. Like, all right, just calm down, put on some nice relaxing music. I'm upset that you had a perfectly good excuse to be here late and you're on time. I leave early.
Starting point is 00:10:28 She comes early so she's not late. I would have used that one. I'd have been at 6.30. Like, man, everything would have blocked off. You crazy. I guess. I really don't like being late for anything. Even if it's two minutes, I'll be like, I'm running two minutes behind just to let you know.
Starting point is 00:10:42 I get it. It bothers me. My goodness. Now, shout out to everybody that came out to Queens yesterday. I got an opportunity. I'll do the real estate thing. I have about 23 units in Jersey now and we also try to teach people
Starting point is 00:10:54 about doing real estate. So we average about a good 10%. So 10 to 15% of the people that actually come to the class actually buy and invest in some type of real estate. So it was meant a lot to me yesterday because I went to my hometown of Jamaica, Queens, and we had a huge, I would say a conversation about real estate,
Starting point is 00:11:10 helping people teaching them from, I say the root of from the tutor starting with their credit, then getting finance and then getting an attorney and then getting an agent and had everybody there that can actually help them. And the people that were there don't charge a fee. Everything is absolutely positively free to talk to these people. So it was a great event, a great turnout. So just trying to help our community to
Starting point is 00:11:29 teach them how to invest in real estate and to buy black, not only buy black, but buy back our own community. You said it right. It was a great seminar. There were so many different people there that just were into real estate. Minorities that have no clue, have no idea what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:11:46 So those seminars really guide people. And like I said, 10% of the people in those seminars actually go ahead and move forward to buying their own property, which makes me so happy. It's tough because a lot of times they're bidding against me, but it's cool because I want our own and our own communities to be purchased by ourselves. So that's a great thing. So shout out to everybody that came out yesterday to our conversation seminar in Queens yesterday, Jamaica, Queens.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Yes, don't. I was at Hillsong NYC last night. Sleuth to Pastor Carl Lentz. Shout out to Carl Lentz. I went to the 8 p.m. service, and then me and Pastor Carl had a conversation in front of the congregation. So that was very fulfilling.
Starting point is 00:12:22 You said 8 p.m.? I went to the 8 p.m. service. 8 p.m. service, okay. They do like 20 services. Wow, 8 p.m., that's nice. Yeah, that's a good one. I can make that one very fulfilling. You said 8 p.m.? I went to the 8 p.m. service. 8 p.m. service, okay. They do like 20 services. Okay. 8 p.m., that's nice. Yeah, that's a good one. I can make that one on time.
Starting point is 00:12:28 I can make that one, yeah, absolutely. No, there's no way I make an 8 p.m. service every Sunday. 8 p.m.? 8 p.m. is better than early in the morning. It's easy. That's a great way to end your weekend. That's especially with five kids getting up early in the morning. Y'all better than me.
Starting point is 00:12:41 We already get to sleep in. Absolutely. Y'all better than me. 8 p.m., I be winding down. And, you know, it be to the point when, if I come into the city at 8 o'clock, I'm going to stay in the city for a little while because I don't be out like that. So all the things that I normally wouldn't be doing, I'll go pop up at a studio session or two and see what's going on.
Starting point is 00:12:59 Okay. Look at you in the city. Did that last night. Who'd you pop up with? Rhapsody and 9th Wonder. Drop on the you pop over? Rhapsody and 9th Wonder. Drop on the Clues bombs for Rhapsody and 9th Wonder. I'm a huge fan of Rhapsody. And shout to Rick Ross.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Today is Rick Ross' birthday. Today is Rick Ross' born day. He had a dinner last night. He invited me to out in Atlanta. So happy birthday to Rosé. You thought you were going to fly to Atlanta? Yeah. Yesterday?
Starting point is 00:13:20 I got that invite. I've been getting that invite every year for the past three years. Me too. One day y'all going to pull up. I doubt it. And shout out to everybody. Not that I don't like that invite every year for the past three years. Me too. One day y'all going to pull up. I doubt it. And shout out to everybody. Not that I don't like Ross and appreciate Ross. It's in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Atlanta on a Sunday. If it was in Brooklyn. Come on, man. If it was in Brooklyn, Charlamagne wouldn't go. I got to fight to leave the house at 7 o'clock. If it was in Jersey, around the corner, Charlamagne wouldn't go. No. All right.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Well, let's get the show cracking. Tony Gaskins will be joining us. Tony Gaskins Jr. Relationship expert. Relationship expert. We'll kick it with him in a little bit. What you mean? I just said allegedly. Gaskins Jr. Relationship expert. Relationship expert. We'll kick it with him in a little bit. What you mean? I just said allegedly.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Allegedly what? Allegedly relationship expert. Well, he has several books and he's a relationship coach. That is true. Yeah. He also has his... That qualifies, I mean. He has his doubters and critics, but we all do.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Yeah. All right, well, let's get the show cracking. Front page news, what are we talking about? Well, while I was flying to Detroit over the weekend, the government shut down temporarily and they will give you some information about that. All right, we'll get into that when we come back. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne
Starting point is 00:14:12 Degas. We are The Breakfast Club. Good morning. What's happening? Let's get in some front page news. Now, over the weekend was the Pro Bowl. I didn't watch it. Did you guys watch it? Check it out? Nah. For what? I didn't check it out. The Pro Bowl is trash. How do you know if you didn't see it? Because it's just a trash game. It's football, so none of them are really, really, really trying to play no ball.
Starting point is 00:14:30 And I think that none of them really want to be there because all of them would rather be in the Super Bowl. It's not like the NBA All-Star game where they do it in the middle of the season. They couldn't do that with football. I can't do it. I don't care for the Pro Bowl. It's not popping. I was reading that they were concerned about the refs from the Rams-Saints game saying that they were from L.A. or had ties to California.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Something those refs that missed that call. They're going to use that same officiating crew for the Super Bowl? I'm sure not. Nah, I doubt that. Nah, not at all. All right, now let's talk about this suspect. In five Louisiana shooting deaths that happened over the weekend, the young man is 21-year-old Dakota Theriot.
Starting point is 00:15:03 He was arrested yesterday morning after he killed five people in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Then he fled to Richmond County, Virginia to his grandmother's house. He's accused of killing his own parents and then killing his girlfriend and her father and brother in two separate shootings. So what they're trying to say is it looks like these shootings stem from a boyfriend and girlfriend type of dispute. Really sad situation. When authorities did arrive on the scene, the dad, Keith Theriot, was still alive. And he's the one that told them that his son was the one that shot them. And then they went and captured Dakota Theriot in Virginia.
Starting point is 00:15:36 Listen, I hate to stereotype, but he got the mad shooter face. We have to start being honest with ourselves and saying that it is a look. He pulled a gun on a cop and the cop didn't kill him? Of course not. You know why? Because the look starts with white. Right? White, skinny, long neck.
Starting point is 00:15:52 It's a mass shooter face, bro. I'm telling you. If you pay attention, just pay attention. They all got a similar look. They all look like they popped off the same Gremlin. Now, when I was flying to Detroit on Friday, I left. I was in the airport. There was still a government shutdown.
Starting point is 00:16:04 All the flights were operating on a delay. By the time I got on the plane and we were halfway to Detroit, that's when they reopened the government for three weeks. So now until February 15th, they have temporarily reopened and shuttered parts of the government. And that's without that requested
Starting point is 00:16:20 $5.7 billion for a border wall. Donald Trump has said over the next 21 days, I expect that both Democrats and Republicans will operate in good faith. So I guess they're supposed to be trying to figure out what's going to happen next. But in the meantime, the longest government shutdown on record
Starting point is 00:16:34 has reopened temporarily. I'm letting you know right now, Trump just opened it for the Super Bowl. By February, it will be closed again because he know you Negroes like to fly during February. Oh my goodness. Y'all want to go to NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte? We're going to make that difficult for you.
Starting point is 00:16:47 You want to go to CIAA Weekend in Charlotte? We're going to make that difficult for you, too. Grammy's there. It's still be open. It's open until February 15th. We're going to make y'all Black History Month hella difficult. My goodness. All right.
Starting point is 00:16:58 February 15th? Yeah, we have until February 15th, right after Valentine's Day. Shut it down before Valentine's Day, especially if you got a long-distance relationship and you don't want to go see it. Shut it down before Valentine's Day, especially if you got a long-distance relationship and you don't want to go see it. Shut it down before then. My goodness. All right, well, that's front page news.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up right now. Maybe you had a bad weekend, a horrible weekend, and you just need to vent. Or maybe you had a great weekend and you want to spread some positivity. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Get it off your chest. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. This is your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or blessed. You better have the same energy. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:17:42 Yo, this iPhone 7 was good. The iPhone 7 was cracking, bro. Hey, man, I'm just calling to spread some positivity. I'm taking control of my life. I'm starting my diet. I'm doing more overtime at the job. I ain't spending so much money on BS. I ain't partying.
Starting point is 00:17:57 I'm just about to turn it up this year. That's what you should do. I hope this is real growth and real evolution and not just that beginning of the year, new year, new me BS that you'll be stopping by February. Nah, nah, nah, that's all I'm telling you. Nah, I had to like, I wasn't even ready in the beginning of the year. And I mean, I had to like really get my s*** together and now I'm good, you know? So no more scamming?
Starting point is 00:18:17 No more traveling. No more scamming? What? No more scamming? I never, I never was a scammer, bro. I wish I was. I'd be popping right now. No.
Starting point is 00:18:24 I wouldn't be working. All right, don't think that. No, you wouldn't. You might not be popping. You might be in jail. Definitely might be working. I have one of your charges. Yo, listen, listen, listen, listen.
Starting point is 00:18:33 My people came. We tried to call last week. They came from Spain, from Tenerife. I tried to get you to say happy birthday to them. How much did you charge them to say happy birthday? How much did you charge them to get up to 70? I tried to get everybody to say happy birthday to her. How much did you charge them to say happy birthday? How much did you charge them to get up to 70? I tried to get everybody to say happy birthday.
Starting point is 00:18:46 They flew all the way from here from Tenerife. They had the flower of Madrid. Then they flew here just for me. Last time they did that for the car show, you didn't even show them no love, but you know.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Let the record show that iPhone Sims was charging people $100 and he said, I can get the Breakfast Club to shout you out. Okay. Can I get a shout out
Starting point is 00:19:04 to Emma Barclay, please? Happy birthday. Okay, that's about $500. I done heard you rack up on this damn phone call. Goodbye, iPhone. Always got to curse. Hello, who's this? Hey, man, this is Brendan. I'm from Belfont, Ohio.
Starting point is 00:19:20 What's up, bro? Get it off your chest, Brendan. Yeah, man, I just want to shout-out to the family of Troy Bird, man. He was 11 years old. He had passed away Saturday, a day before his 12th birthday. He was playing basketball, man. What, he just passed away playing basketball? Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:19:35 He passed away unexpectedly. They don't know what happened. He was playing basketball, and he just collapsed and passed away. God damn. That's so sad, man. Our condolences. Did he have any pre-existing conditions? Nah, man.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Nothing that any of us know about. Nobody in the family seems to know what happened or anything like that, man. So, just want to give prayers and stuff like that out to the family, man. They're going through a hard time right now. I'm sorry to hear that. Please don't be calling up
Starting point is 00:20:03 here planting them kind of seeds, man. I need to know what happened. Hello, who's this? Sade, what's up, Envy? Hey, Sade, good morning. Good morning, how you doing? Charlemagne, what's going on? Angelique, how y'all doing this morning? Good morning, Sade, how are you?
Starting point is 00:20:16 I'm blessed, but I'm a little mad. I'm blessed because I do have a job, but I'm mad because that job caused me to miss that real estate show Envy had in Missouri yesterday. Yeah, we had it actually at a huge club in Queens, in Missouri, on the south side. I live in Queens, so I wanted to go.
Starting point is 00:20:33 I bought a ticket. I had to give it away because I got stuck at work. Oh, man, I'm so sorry. So when's your next one? Because I'd love to come. You know what we're going to do? I mean, this is for the people that were at the seminar. We're actually going to do a ride-along.
Starting point is 00:20:45 I'm going to take probably like 50 to 100 people, and I'm going to take them to some of the properties that we've actually been flipping and working on so that they can actually see. It's different to hear people talk about it, but then when you can actually go into the school that we're turning into some units or go into the social club we purchased that we're going to turn into some units or the small homes, we're going to actually take people in and let them see what demolition renovations are and
Starting point is 00:21:07 doing the refloor. So we're actually going to take people actually in the homes, you know? So that's going to be next month sometime. I'll fill people in with the details and everything. I'm sorry you missed it though. I'm sorry I missed it as well, but I listen to you guys every morning
Starting point is 00:21:23 and I'm happy to finally get through to talk to y'all because I never get through. So I'm blessed for that as well, but y'all have a good day and a blessed week. Happy Monday. You too, now, Mama. All right, happy Monday. Get it off your chest, 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, you can hit us up right now. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Let's go. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you. The Breakfast Club. Let's go. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're man or flesh. Say it with your chest. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. So if you got something on your mind, let it out.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Hello, who's this? Yo, Envy, this is Faheem. Good morning, y'all. Good morning, Charlamagne. Good morning, Angela Yee. What's up, my brother? How are you? Get it off your chest, man.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Man, I'm doing all right. Man, I feel like this man, he's playing like a puppet game. What's three weeks to these people that's been out for work for almost a month and a half? Well, they get back pay. They're going to get back pay for those three weeks. That's for sure. That's for sure. I feel like he's doing kind of like what South Florida did last week with the scholarship.
Starting point is 00:22:20 He's just giving them a little bit of hope just to take it back from them. You know, he could have left it open this whole time while they tried to negotiate and shut down. We could shut down that wall again. But, like, why did he have to have the government close just to try to prove his point? Because it's all a temper tantrum. That's exactly what he's trying to do. He's trying to prove his point. He's having a temper tantrum because he wants his wall. Like, my boy Charlemagne
Starting point is 00:22:37 say, the Hellmans is heavy. Yes. It's all that it is on both sides of the white bread. Key word is white in all of this, though. Hello, who's this? Hey, this is KD. Hey, KD, what's up? How you doing?
Starting point is 00:22:50 Hey, no, we good, we good. What's up? Get it off your chest. Man, pretty much, like, I got a best friend that his girlfriend is my ex. Mm-hmm. And, like, he asked me, he asked me if we, like, how she came on to me. And I was basically telling him, I mean, why would you ask me something like that? If you're going to ask me that, ask me in front of her.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Because I just feel like if you're going to go there in front and ask me something that you're going to ask her for, if it's me, you would have got the same answer I would have said. But, like, I was just being real about the situation. So he got mad and asked her about it and made it a big deal. Like, me and her was still, you know, messing around or whatever the case may be. That is so weird that he's even dating your ex. It is weird because of a certain reason. Like, the only reason he dated her because he basically went behind my back
Starting point is 00:23:41 and told her that I was talking to other girls with which I wanted to see. He would inbox me. And I would say, hey, this and that. But it was left with him going back and telling her that. And look at him now. He's suffering and jealous and insecure. Exactly. That's because you got the original car facts on her.
Starting point is 00:23:57 You know how many miles is on it. You know all the scratches and the dents off. She probably still like you. Hey, and what's so crazy? Like, I be helping their situation. It's crazy that I be just still helping them as a couple, and I'm still, like, single. It's crazy, like.
Starting point is 00:24:14 If you get a chance to talk to him, just say something real light, like, yo, she still do that little thing with her tongue? That's fair. Don't do that. Don't do that. Don't disrespect her like that. Just see what he say, all right? If Game can be out there making records about people's wives,
Starting point is 00:24:27 you can say that to him. Alicia. In a respectful way. Yes, good morning, guys. Good morning, Alicia. I'm calling to see you every morning, Charlamagne. You the best. Thank you, baby.
Starting point is 00:24:37 How are you? I'm all right. I can't complain. Getting ready for work this morning. You had breakfast yet? I had to get it off my chest. What's up, mama? Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:24:45 Yo, me and my friend Jessica, right? We've been friends for 10 years, right? Mm-hmm. My best friend was coming out here from Maryland. You think that she would've
Starting point is 00:24:54 told me that she was going to DR? Going to DR? So she went without you? Yes! She probably went to go get work done. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:25:01 Oh, she know you broke and she ain't want to insult you. That's never the case. I make $18 an hour. I get to that bag. Hey! $18 an hour,
Starting point is 00:25:10 get to that bag. Maybe she went with her boo. No, she went with her brother when it was her grandmother's birthday. Oh, well, that's why. It's a family trip. Yeah, grandma went to get her ass done. You stupid.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Yo, I hate you. Y'all will be all right. Y'all have a girl's trip soon, I'm sure. Yeah, she's supposed to be going to March Madness, New hate you. Y'all will be all right. Y'all have a girls trip soon, I'm sure. Yeah, she's supposed to be going to March Madness, New Orleans tomorrow. Oh, there you go. You didn't want to go on a family trip with her anyway? No, I really wanted to meet up with her.
Starting point is 00:25:35 You did? Yeah, it really hurt my heart that she really left the country without me. We sat in the crib for summers. She didn't even tell you she was going? No, she kind of told me, kind of faked through it in my face. That's why I'm doing it some type of way. That's why I'm getting it off my chest.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Maybe it's a family trip. I mean, I know y'all are best friends and all that, but maybe it really was just an intimate, immediate family trip. No, it wasn't immediate because, no, Charlamagne. Did you have breakfast yet? I wouldn't want to go with my friends to go see their grandkids. Yeah, my son gets up at 6 o'clock in the morning. I make breakfast every day. What did you make this morning? Bacon, egg, and, man. Did you have breakfast yet? I wouldn't want to go with my friends to go see their grandma. Yeah, my son gets up at 6 o'clock in the morning. I make breakfast every day.
Starting point is 00:26:07 What'd you make this morning? Bacon, egg, and cheese. The best homemade. Hey, you put it on a bagel or something? A roll? Everything bagel. Everything bagel. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Well, life is good. You didn't get the D.R., but you got a homemade bacon, egg, and cheese. Life is good. Right. Now, I'm tired of talking to you. Have a nice day. Goodbye, mama. Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:26:28 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, you can hit us up at any time. Nayee, we got rumors on the way? Yes, DMX is officially out of jail. We have his first performance since he got out of prison. Also, since we're talking about performances, the game, Why Are People So Mad At Him? We'll play those lyrics for you and see what you think. All right, we'll get into all that when we come back.
Starting point is 00:26:47 Keep it locked. This is The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. You see Lil' Kodak on the gram singing Fantasia?
Starting point is 00:27:00 No. Oh, that was so dope, man. Was it? Yes, it was. I missed it. I thought it was Fantasia for two seconds, but it was a little cold. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk the game.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Listen up. It's just in. All the gossip. Gossip. The Rumor Report. Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's the Rumor Report.
Starting point is 00:27:17 The Breakfast Club. Well, this clip has been circulating. It's a new song by Game. The full song is not out yet, but this one clip has people in a tizzy. Here it is. I held Kim Kardashian by the throat. I made her swallow my kids until she choked.
Starting point is 00:27:33 I should apologize, cause you ain't my folks. So he said, I held Kim Kardashian by the throat. I made her swallow my kids until she choked. I should apologize, cause Kanye my folk. I'm not into that clip. I don't see the point other than trying to garner attention. I think the game is better than that.
Starting point is 00:27:50 But the game has always said what's on his mind. So why stop there? And personally, I don't feel sorry for Kanye either. Because remember when Kanye and Wiz had a Twitter beef and Kanye said to Wiz, you let a stripper trap you and told Wiz. That's my son. Yeah, you wouldn't have a child if it wasn't for me. You own waves.
Starting point is 00:28:04 I own your child. So I know that was That was crazy. All because Wiz Khalifa was tweeting about his Khalifa Kush. Khalifa Kush. The KK.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Absolutely. He was talking about Kim Kardashian. And so I know that was a few years ago, but you still put that energy out there disrespecting someone's wife,
Starting point is 00:28:18 not someone disrespecting yours. It's all disrespecting me, period. Right, but I'm sure for Kim it's kind of annoying. Like whatever happened happened, you know, a long, long, that's gotta be stressful just just mad people talking about the game if you're popping and you've had sex with some guy in the past it's a good chance that guy's probably gonna talk about you this is also the way you mention things like if somebody you
Starting point is 00:28:41 know that was come on now, he posted on social media, just woke up, is hip hop still soft? Asking for a friend. I didn't start rapping to be a nice guy. I speak my truths to my fans. Hashtag game fans. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. F you. Well, I mean, the last time we heard somebody talk about sleeping
Starting point is 00:28:59 with somebody's wife, both of those rappers ended up deceased. So, I mean, you know. One bar got everybody in their feelings on a scale of one to ten about how mad are you? Hashtag born to rap. I said what I said. But the crazy part
Starting point is 00:29:11 is they did a record like this, what, like 10 years ago, Wouldn't Get Far? Where they talked about smashing all the industry women. Two of them together. But it was Gay Menier. But it wasn't,
Starting point is 00:29:19 I heard that the record is about him smashing industry wives. Oh. So that's a big difference. So he's going to be talking about a lot of people's wives on this record. Yes, it's a big difference. So a lot of people are going to be mad.
Starting point is 00:29:27 I don't know why you want to do that. But does he pick and choose which wives? I would. Alright, now. I choose your battles wisely. I would. Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live, they did a spoof of Soulja Boy up here on The Breakfast Club. Clearly that interview is very
Starting point is 00:29:44 huge for us. Quite a moment. Now, here is... We have a lot of those a lot of times. I just want to throw that out there. This one was an instant classic, though. Here's Chris Redd from Saturday Night Live playing Soulja Boy.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Soulja, you can't be for real, man. I mean, you really think you got what it takes to take down Donald Trump? Trump? Trump? Trump? The dude that got bodied by the popular vote? The dude that got beefed with Nancy Lee Piloski? Trump? The dude that got bodied by the popular vote? The dude that got beef with Nancy Lee Piloski?
Starting point is 00:30:07 Trump? Man, Che, you better get out of here. I ain't hearing you, man. So you really think you got what it takes? Che, I'm telling you, bro, without Big Soldier, there wouldn't even be no Trump. I'm the first one that hustled to the top. What hustled, Soldier? Who else hustled in the video game market?
Starting point is 00:30:22 All right. I mean, I call those interviews Thanksgiving turkeys because people eat off them for weeks, but it's up to the subject of that interview to really capitalize. And in the case of Soulja Boy, he needs a record. All the spoofs and stuff are good and the memes are good, but he needs a record. Right, he's been working.
Starting point is 00:30:35 He actually always puts out music. I guess we just haven't been paying enough attention. I sent him a record last night. He didn't even text me back. It was a Soulja Boy record. I was at the seminar all day. I got that this morning. It was working.
Starting point is 00:30:46 How was it? I don't know. I'm old. How you going to send it to me and you don't listen to it? I sent it to Nyla. Nyla said it's cool. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:51 You know, Nyla's 21. I'm old. I don't know if it's cool or not. All right, now, let's talk about DMX. He's out of prison. Okay, that's my era. Now, Ja Rule was supposed
Starting point is 00:31:01 to be performing on Saturday. Okay. After that Fyre Festival documentary. I'm sure he's like, let me take a little break. For what? He red hot right now. So instead, he didn't do the show. I don't know if that's why.
Starting point is 00:31:12 But DMX stepped in. What do you mean? And took his place. DMX just started performing already? Yeah. He performed over the weekend. So they had a Fyre Festival this week. And this was in Staten Island.
Starting point is 00:31:21 This was in Staten Island, New York. He was in New York. And here is a little snippet for you. God has had his hand on me since before the womb. I didn't know what that meant until I read the Bible. All right. You think I started in the womb. He has had his hand on me since before the womb.
Starting point is 00:31:38 This s*** is going to do this. He's going to make this happen. He's going to touch this person. That was in a hotel room. That wasn't a performance. I thought it was going to be a performance. I am God's child. I thought it was going to be a performance. I am God's child. It hurts sometimes.
Starting point is 00:31:50 No, that was in a hotel room. He was preaching before the performance. And he performed at Mr. Chiao Restaurant in Staten Island. They actually tweeted out, DMX, you saved the day. Thank you to all that came to party. See you February 10th for brunch. Drop him in the Clues, boss. He saved the day.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Shout to the dog. DMX is anointed. I don't care what the hell y'all say. Okay? Shout out to the dog. All right. I'm Angela Yee, and that is your rumor report. Why are you growling?
Starting point is 00:32:11 That's the dog. What kind of dog? You and DMX are two different kinds of dogs. It sounds like you're snoring. Okay? He's a pit bull. You're a shih tzu. Like, wake up.
Starting point is 00:32:18 What's a shih tzu? It's a shih tzu, you ass. It's a shih tzu. I didn't want to say that, because I'm scared to say it. It's a shih tzu. It's a dog. I feel like I'm saying something that's against FCC regulations. My goodness. Shih tzu. I didn't want to say that because I'm scared to say it. It's a shih tzu. It's a dog. I feel like I'm saying something that's against FCC regulations. My goodness.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Shih tzu. That's it? Stop. Don't say it no more. You're making me nervous. Here we go. Front page news. What are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:32:33 Yes, let's talk about Kalief Browder's family, the settlement that they got finally. And obviously, no amount of money could bring back their son. So I'm sure they'd rather have their son there than any amount of money. But we'll tell you what that settlement was. All right, we'll get into that when we come back. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Everybody, it's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. One time for Lil Wayne, not saying a goddamn thing on that whole record, but it sounds good. But it's very enjoyable. It definitely sounds good.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Well, let's get into some front page news. What are we talking about, Yee? Let's talk about Donald Trump. He has signed a bill to reopen the government after a record long shutdown. Now, that bill does not include his requested $5.7 billion for that border wall that he's trying so hard to get. But now
Starting point is 00:33:13 the shuttered parts of the government that have been closed will be reopened until February 15th. So we'll see what happens. He said over the next 21 days, I expect that both Democrats and Republicans will operate in good faith. He got to do it until at least February 17th
Starting point is 00:33:28 because everybody got to fly back from All-Star weekend in Charlotte. All-Star weekend is the whole weekend, right? Yeah, when is All-Star weekend? What's the date for that? The 15th is that Friday.
Starting point is 00:33:37 It's the 15th, 16th, and 17th. Sheesh. I'm going to be out there. How are you going to get back? Are you going to drive? Not again. Not after you left me last time. I did not.
Starting point is 00:33:46 You definitely left her. I definitely had to drive back. How I left? I didn't fly the plane. Nope. You changed your flight and didn't tell anybody.
Starting point is 00:33:52 You could have sent a group text. I don't remember that. Of course you don't. Now, New York City has settled with Kalief Browder's family for $3.3 million.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Just a refresher, Kalief Browder spent three years at Rikers Island without being convicted of a crime. He killed himself in 2015. He was a 16-year-old sophomore when he was accused of stealing a backpack, and he was released when the charges against him were dropped.
Starting point is 00:34:14 So now the family has gotten a $3.3 million settlement. The suit claims he was falsely arrested, maliciously prosecuted, and denied a speedy trial. And if you recall, if you saw the documentary, he spent long stretches of time in solitary confinement. He had physical and emotional abuse while he was in prison for a crime he didn't even commit. Stealing a backpack. Three years. God bless the soul of Khalid Brada.
Starting point is 00:34:35 God bless his family. I feel like he should have got way more than three-something million dollars. I agree. I mean, there's no price you can pay for a life. Not at all. Alright, now Bennett College, we've been hearing all about Bennett College. It's one of the few all-women HBCUs, and they're facing the closure. It's only one of two historically black colleges for women left in the country. And unless they can raise $5 million by February 1st, that college will end its reign after 145 years. So they still have to reach that goal by February 1st that college will end its reign after 145 years.
Starting point is 00:35:06 So they still have to reach that goal by February 1st. Actually, Papa John's just donated $500,000. That's all? Yeah, they donated $500,000. They should have covered the whole $5 million. So they have just a little bit of time left before they could potentially close only a couple of days. Where's Ben in college? North Carolina?
Starting point is 00:35:24 Yeah, North Carolina, right? I wonder how much say Bowles had in making Papa John's donate that half a million dollars. What? Because don't she work at Papa John's? Who? Bowles. Oh, Bowlesman?
Starting point is 00:35:34 Yes. Does she work there now still? I thought she did. Okay. Maybe I could be wrong. I know she was. I don't know. Think about that. Donald Trump trying to get 52-something billion.
Starting point is 00:35:42 How much is Donald Trump trying to give for that wall? 50, oh, some crazy. Some crazy-ass number. $5.7 billion. Yeah, and all they need is $5 million to stay open. Why can't America donate money to... Instead he wants to build a wall. Yeah, why can't America give that money to that school so it can stay open?
Starting point is 00:35:56 But why are they in a deficit? Are students not attending? What's the problem with that in college? I didn't go to college. I don't know. I don't know how those things happen. Now, Howard Schultz, the former Starbucks CEO, is seriously thinking about running for president as an independent.
Starting point is 00:36:08 So we'll see what happens. He had described himself as a lifelong Democrat, and he stepped down as chairman and CEO of Starbucks last year. So now he's trying to figure out if he should enter the 2020 race. Some people are upset because they feel like this could potentially split that Democratic vote between independents and Democrats, which would give Donald Trump a greater chance of getting reelected. I mean, we don't even know what his policies are yet.
Starting point is 00:36:29 At all. So we can't be talking about splitting votes. We don't even know what he's standing on. But he said himself he's seriously considering running for president. I guess because he's a lifelong Democrat, and now he's running as an independent. So some of those ideals that he has as an independent would probably be those of Democratic.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Either that or they just love his lattes that much so when they hear Starbucks, they're like, oh, shoot, I like Starbucks, so I guess I would like this guy. You think so? People are stupid. You like Chick-fil-A? I ain't voting for him. Exactly. Alright, well, that is your front page news. Alright, thank you, Missy. I'm going to vote for
Starting point is 00:36:59 somebody who would open up Chick-fil-A on Sunday, though. Anybody? Anybody. My goodness. Donald Trump. If Donald Trump says I'll open up... Legalize weed, cancel child support, open Chick-fil-A on Sundays, I'd consider it. Cancel child support? What about the dads that don't pay anything at all?
Starting point is 00:37:15 They need child support. Okay. You're right. Come on now. My goodness. Alright. When we come back, relationship expert Tony Gaskins Jr. will be joining us. So we'll kick it with him. So don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:37:28 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We got a special guest in the building. Yes, sir. Author, motivational speaker, Tony Gaskins Jr. What's up, my brother? How are you, man? Good morning.
Starting point is 00:37:41 Thank y'all for having me. Good morning, sir. I'm glad we finally got you up here. Yes, yes? Good morning. Thank y'all for having me. Good morning, sir. I'm glad we finally got you up here. Yes, yes. Florida boy. Tony be hitting me like, man, I don't think I'm big enough to come on the birth club. I'm like, what are you talking about, Tony? You talk to people all the time.
Starting point is 00:37:53 You touch people in a special way. Whoa. What are you going for? All he said, touch people in a special way. Man, shut up. But you do, though. People actually listen to your words and they live by it. They go on your Instagram page and watch all the advice that you're giving to everybody.
Starting point is 00:38:08 And it helps so many people out. I know things like that are so important because you never know what someone's going through. They can look on your page and see something that perfectly relates to them. Right, right. Well, you know, it's kind of, I see it like the celebrities and coming on the show. And I'm an introvert. So I've just always been a writer and so to get on social media and it go viral it kind of thrust me into something that I did not
Starting point is 00:38:32 plan for but it's positive though because it's helping you because you have this book make it work so let's talk about that it's 22 time tested real life lessons for sustaining a healthy happy relationship I was reading it and I was like damn there's a lot of things in there that I agree with that are lessons that sometimes we have to learn on our own. And you started off with just about what we've seen that's taught us about what love is supposed to be. Right, right. It was years ago, Charlamagne said to me like that my message was kind of just common sense. But when you get in love, you forget what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:39:06 And everything just goes out the window. So I was waking up every day and seeing all of these iconic couples go through divorces and all of these break babies and the cheating scandals. And I was like, man, this is crazy. And for me, I've always been a student of love. I've just always been in awe of love and relationships. And so being a millennial and in a 12 year marriage, which is 100 percent happy marriage, I said, I got to speak on it. We've come to believe that a happy relationship is a fairy tale
Starting point is 00:39:37 and that it's not real until it's been knocked down, drag out, break up the makeup 20 times. And so after seeing that so often and then creating something different because I made every mistake. When I was a college football player, I was in a toxic relationship, and I was the one doing the dirt, but it was being reinforced. And so when I left that and met my wife, she just wouldn't accept anything that I was trying to do. And I realized in order to keep this woman, and then we had a son, and he was in the intensive care unit.
Starting point is 00:40:11 He was born two and a half months early. And I was 23, and I had just kind of transitioned from the street life. And when I left the streets, I got married to my wife. And two months into marriage, I tried to go back to the streets. And with a son in intensive care unit and her having no job and me being the only source of income, she walked away. And at that moment, I realized like, wow, I got a woman who is not going to reinforce my grown boy behavior. And so that's when I realized that I had to be in submission to be a real man. And then in order for her to trust my lead.
Starting point is 00:40:46 And that's when I started to grow and change. And I looked at society and I'm like, man, we're living backwards. Everybody is into the threesomes, the foursomes, the strip club, the pornos, the multiple women, and it's breaking us down. And so guys hate me. I really don't have friends. Well, Tony, what if that works for them, though? Like, what if the threesomes work for them?
Starting point is 00:41:09 That's what that couple likes to do. We do see on the outside. True. And I see the long term. And you never can invite lust, unbridled lust, from outside of your relationship into your home and expect it not to take over. I mean, I'm not disagreeing with you,
Starting point is 00:41:27 but that's a hell of a generalization. Not like that, you see what I'm saying? See, I agree with him, though, 100%, wholeheartedly. How? None of y'all are doing it. But a lot of women do things because they feel like they have to. You got to understand, we live by the majority rules. So, yes, there are 10 out of 1,000 women who are okay with threesomes
Starting point is 00:41:48 and it's what they want to do. But general, and we look at society, it's just not healthy. It breaks us down. It breaks down the home. And I'm a man, so I would love to live that dream. But what I realize is that dream is pursuing pleasure and pleasure doesn't
Starting point is 00:42:05 lead to happiness. It leads to pain. And then you're trying to raise kids too, but then you wouldn't tell your daughter, Hey, go be, have a threesome with your husband. You wouldn't tell your son, you need two, three, four women. And then we look at the black on black crime and we look at all of the stuff going on and we say, what's going on? And it's a breakdown in the home. And so that's why I have focused my lane on rebuilding love and teaching real love. And I'm ostracized for it. I'm hated for it. I can't be in the in crowd.
Starting point is 00:42:36 By who? Who hates you? You know, just in a sense of like every man I meet, when we talk, he immediately starts to think that I'm looking down on him or I feel like I'm better than him. And then so many women send me messages of their husband and boyfriend. Oh, that Tony Gaskins is brainwashing you. He's this, he's that. And I reach out to certain people, artists and comedians, because I'm a friendly person. I want to connect. And so I will see a guy that I'm reaching out to. And I'm like, I know this guy ain't that big. He could hit me back.
Starting point is 00:43:06 I just want to salute him on what he's doing. And then a month later, he's exposed for cheating on his wife and got a side woman pregnant and then leaves his wife for this other woman. And then the mistress comes out, and then I'm like, oh, he saw my energy. Just in general, this happened time and time again. So I'm like, oh, he saw my energy. Just in general, this happened time and time again. So I'm like, oh, he saw my energy. He's like the Grim Reaper. And he felt like, you know,
Starting point is 00:43:29 he felt like I was going to judge him, and he stayed away. You said you were with over 100 women. Over 100 women by the age of 21. I was one of the absolute worst. But I understand why people would be mad at you now. You want people to be a certain way, and you're pushing a certain way.
Starting point is 00:43:43 But you done knocked off 100 chicks. So it's almost like saying. Let me f*** 100, Tony. And then I'll calm down. I'm not saying that. But this is the thing, though. My friends was at 300. My friends were at 300.
Starting point is 00:43:55 God damn it. I had one friend. I had one friend. I don't make them better because they had three in you. I had one friend at 600. You know, I have clients. I have clients who their record is 10 in a day. That sounds like an addiction.
Starting point is 00:44:09 For men, because of the way the woman has been mistreated and broken, she becomes disposable to men, and it becomes very easy. And then me being an athlete, you know, and so women came easy. And so at 21 years old, I was exhausted. I had started looking for my wife at 16. But guess what? I did not know and I was ignorant. And I was pursuing women, put a full court press on them. And 99% of the women would have sex on the first day.
Starting point is 00:44:40 And it started to affect me. But I was operating from my confusion and brokenness and then i realized wow they're doing this because their father or their brother was not there and that's when i took and i flipped it and i turned my mess into my message all right we have more with tony gaskins jr relationship expert when we come back don't move it's the breakfast club good morning dj envy angela ye, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. We have Tony Gaskins Jr. in the building.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Relationship expert, Yee. You think that a relationship can be successful if you're in love, but there's no physical lust or attraction to each other. Yes, I think it can, but it has to be built on communication. And so what you realize and what I've come to learn is that sex in a relationship is a plus, not a priority. And when we understand that the largest sexual organ is the mind and you focus on making love to the mind instead of making love to the body, that is when sex loses its power and real love flourishes. So my wife and I, we may go three weeks without intercourse and I don't miss a beat. But as men, we've thought that we have to have a release every day. But I fall deeper in love in
Starting point is 00:45:58 that three weeks of just communicating. And that's where I learned that sex is a plus and not a priority. What about couples that go for months without having sex? If you're communicating and that's where I learned that sex is a plus and not a priority. What about couples that go for months without having sex? If you're communicating and you're actually making love to one another's mind, then it's healthy and it's real. But if you're going for months without sex and there is no communication, if there's no mental stimulation, then that's when something is broken and it needs to be addressed. And a lot of times it's because somebody is focused on someone else outside of the relationship. When you got with your wife, did you cut off all your other women? When I met my wife, I was talking to four other females. And by the end of the first week, I had cut all of them off because from the first real conversation, she sat me outside on the
Starting point is 00:46:43 bench in front of her apartment and we talked for six hours. And in that six hours, I knew that she was my wife, and I was 21 years old. How did you change your lifestyle so fast? I didn't. You didn't have a relationship, Coach. I didn't. I didn't change it so fast. Because you cheated early on, and you had other women up there. No. I met her at 21.
Starting point is 00:47:00 Two months into the relationship, she left me because i was trying to bring in my controlling toxic behavior and she said we need a break but really that meant we'll never talk again we just so happened to come back six months later when i got her back that six months i said i'm not letting you go i got to trap you you're amazing woman and so i got her pregnant on purpose and she was in school to be a doctor gosh you know i was this is why i teach though because you can't have a message unless you have a mess yeah and so unless you've been the absolute worst then you can't explain how to be the best and so for me going from both ends of the spectrum i've seen the whole scope of things and that's why i teach what I teach, because I know this is what really works.
Starting point is 00:47:45 And so I kept her and I got married at 23. And it took me from 23 to 25 to get 100 percent right. At about the end of 25, I said I will be 100 percent faithful in my body and spirit for the rest of my life. And I'm 34 now. And so my wife and I haven't had an argument in a decade. We have disagreements. But because of the communication rules... How do you define an argument and disagreement now? An argument is yelling, shutting down, walking off, slamming the door, going to bed mad.
Starting point is 00:48:21 A disagreement is when you disagree on something, but you sit down like adults and you use the communication rules. I have a chapter in Make It Work called Arguing Is Not Communication. Right. I always say that you have to learn how to disagree effectively when you're in a relationship because you don't agree on everything. But how do you handle it when you have a disagreement? That's really important. You have to listen to both sides. So you have to seek to understand, then be understood. A lot of people argue to be right. Right, exactly. And when you are operating from a place of selflessness,
Starting point is 00:48:52 then you can truly hear who is right in this situation, when you're being selfless instead of being selfish. And I think age matters. I think experience matters. Like, I've been with my woman for 21 years this year, so that's a long time. I've been, we've both been several different people in those phases of life. That's teenagers and college for her and 20s and 30s.
Starting point is 00:49:14 Is she from Monk's Corner? Yes, sir. Yeah. Born and raised. And so y'all kind of worked through your brokenness. And you grew together. And that's when they say grow together. That's what you got to
Starting point is 00:49:25 do and so if you're growing together that's different than one person growing and the other person stunting their growth and so see both of you married men and look where y'all at you're peaceful you're happy people want money men want money but the real prosperity is peace i got way more money when my relationship with my man me when my relationship I stopped cheating I haven't cheated it since like October 2016 past couple years I made more money and ever like it's not about money but my life that foundation it's a universal law just keeps coming pause now what if you Now, what if he's f***ing a bunch of women, but he's not dogging them up? Like, what if he treats all his women good? He buys them all gifts.
Starting point is 00:50:09 He gives them time when he got time. He's not married. Right, right. You know what I'm saying? There's no way possibly he can devote on one woman. But he's not dogging her, though. Like, you know what I mean when I say dogging her. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:50:18 You grew up on plows. Right, right. He's not, you know, beating her. But the thing is, is he's still perpetuating the cycle because every one of those women want him to be their exclusive man. And so he's breaking her down. And so if she has kids, her kids are broken. It's the kick the cat syndrome where the boss yells at me,
Starting point is 00:50:39 I go home, yell at my wife, my wife yells at my son, my son goes and kicks the cat. And the cat did nothing wrong. What did the cat did nothing wrong exactly it's the kick the cat syndrome so that's what happens when this guy is manipulating these women sleeping with these women and they accept that role because then they go on instagram and they promote the side chick or the one of many and women get comfortable having half of a man instead of a whole man and and that is perpetuated and we don't realize it when we say why is it so much black on black crime why is it so much AIDS and STDs we don't go back to the foundation that if you give a
Starting point is 00:51:14 person love and they can see healthy love between this relationship in their home they become a total different person you have a book called a single is not a curse single is not a Curse. Single is Not a Curse, yeah. Can you explain what made you want to write that? Because I got a lot of single homegirls. Right, right. I wrote it because I feel like that is the space where self-love really should happen
Starting point is 00:51:35 and that you are not ready for a relationship until you are 100% happy being single. Now, what about the woman that's happy being single? She's at peace being single, but on her vision board she has has I do want to be married one day and find a man. That's the space she needs to operate from because now she's operating from self-love. Right. It's what's really important. And I believe the highest level of love is self-love and when you get to self-love everything flows from there because a lot of women single and lot of men are single because they're looking at preferences. A man says she's got to have a big butt.
Starting point is 00:52:08 She's got to have a flat stomach. She's got to be this complexion. A woman says she has to be six foot. He has to make six figures. He has to have a six pack or six inches. And so now she's stuck. Six inches? Six inches?
Starting point is 00:52:20 Yeah. You know, and I tell women all the time. That was a random number That's what the ladies tell me What would you ask for? They say at least six What do you want? This guy here
Starting point is 00:52:32 Said he eight inches And something in the black privilege I say man that's too much information But that's what a lot of women Waiting on that six six six And what do we know of six six six? It's the devil You gonna have a devil on your hands.
Starting point is 00:52:46 Yeah, that little devilish 6-inch penis, get that away from me. I ain't talking about that. I'm talking about six figures, six foot tall, and a six pack. Yeah, we definitely need that, Clint. But some women, they go further,
Starting point is 00:52:56 and they waiting on a certain package. And so when you start looking at your standards instead of your preferences, that's when you really find real love. All right, well, Tony Gaskins, we appreciate you for joining us today, but you said you wanted to start a faithful challenge, right? Every man on the sound of my voice, give faithfulness a try. Be 100% faithful.
Starting point is 00:53:18 Try it for 30 days. You're going to make it. Then go 60. Then go half a year. Then go a year if you are 100 faithful no work wife no facebook inbox wife no instagram dm wife if you are 100 faithful to your woman you treat her like a queen and you are selfless don't worry about what she's reciprocating you lead in love if you lead in love and you wash her with love and you are not expecting reciprocation,
Starting point is 00:53:45 after one year of that lifestyle your life will never be the same. That I agree with 300 million 90 thousand, 300 percent. The faithful black male community is the fastest growing community in the world today. And it's a private neighborhood. We got a nice gated community. So we don't
Starting point is 00:54:01 want you riffraff that's only been faithful for 30 days trying to buy houses here. We got to start somewhere. We're not letting y'all in. Okay? Wait until a year, then you can come in. Maybe, maybe. Maybe about two.
Starting point is 00:54:12 Two years. You got to give me two years of complete faithfulness. I'm talking about not no kissing no other woman, no nothing, no entertaining, none of that. You know what I'm saying? Hashtag faithful challenge. Hashtag faithful challenge. Well, thank you for joining us. I thought my skin looked so clear.
Starting point is 00:54:23 Thank you for joining us. We appreciate you. It's Tony Gaskins. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. What's happening?
Starting point is 00:54:33 Good morning. Happy Monday. All right. Now, shout again to Tony Gaskins Jr. for joining us. Good conversation. We're going to continue that conversation next hour. Yes, and one thing I do agree with Tony Gaskins on. Oh, we know what you agree.
Starting point is 00:54:45 Is that if you are faithful to your woman, like completely faithful, if you come and join this faithful black male community, your life will change for the better. Can you just... Hashtag faithful challenge. Can you just explain one thing to us, Charlamagne? What? Hey, that little devilish six-inch penis, get that away from me.
Starting point is 00:55:01 What size would you want next to you? That's out of context. What do you mean? We already deal with a lot of out of context things via social media what's out of context out of that i'm just asking what what's out of context is what tom not tom tommy play again get that away from me you tongue-tied over there bro oh that's what tony was saying tony was talking about the 666. What was it? You're looking for a man with a six-pack. That little devilish
Starting point is 00:55:28 six-inch penis. Get that away from me. This is what Tony said. He said, you're looking for a man with six figures, a six-pack, and six inches.
Starting point is 00:55:34 Well, what kind of man are you looking for? I just was like, six inches seem a little short. So what'd you want? Get that away from you. I'm just saying. You know,
Starting point is 00:55:42 if that's all it takes, okay. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. Well, we got more rumors. Is it too satisfying, Yee? What do you want to know?
Starting point is 00:55:52 I mean, it depends on the girth, probably, and if you love somebody. See, if you love somebody. I don't want you to love me. You don't want me to love me? You think I got a big penis? Well, I love you. That's not what I want to hear right now. I mean, that's pretty ass.
Starting point is 00:56:06 It's not terrible. Okay. It's not like a malfunction. It's not a malfunction. It's not. Oh, my goodness. We got rumors on the way. What are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:56:15 We're going to talk about Terry Crews. He's calling out some specific celebrities for making fun of his assault when he says he got sexually assaulted. All right. We'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Rumor has it. On The Breakfast Club. So listen up. Now, Terry Crews is responding to something that D.L. Hughley said. He doesn't like the fact that celebrities have made fun of him for allegedly getting assaulted. If you guys remember when that happened, he talked about how this agent
Starting point is 00:56:49 sexually assaulted him and grabbed him in the crotch. Now here's what D.L. Hughley originally said. I think it's hard for me to think that a dude with all those muscles can't tell an agent to not touch his ass. I just do. I don't understand. I think that now everybody's so into this notion that,
Starting point is 00:57:08 it happened to me too. Hey, mother f***er, God gave you muscles so you could say no. I thought he grabbed his meat. He did grab his meat. Oh, okay. D.L. said his ass. Yeah, so, you know, and Terry Crews wanted to make it clear that he actually has always liked D.L. Hughley as a comedian,
Starting point is 00:57:23 and so that's why it's really hard for him to hear things like this. So Terry Crews said, you told the world God gave me muscles so I could say, no, are you implying I wanted to be sexually assaulted? I'm listening, sir. He also called out other people as well for making fun of his alleged sexual assault. You know, he had things to say to multiple people, which includes 50 Cent and Tariq Nasheed. Tariq Nasheed responded, I don't know why actor Terry Crews is so mad at me. He sure didn't have that same energy when he let that white man grab his crotch.
Starting point is 00:57:55 So, you know, it's just a very bad situation because Terry Crews has said he feels like black women are the only people that have been supportive of him coming forward and talking about his truth. And now he has an issue with everybody that is actually thinking that he could have done more, that he should have pushed him back, restrained him. He said, I did all of those things, but you act like I didn't. Oh, he did push the guy. Yeah. Oh, I see. I didn't know that. And then Hughley tweeted him back. That's different than slapping the ish out of him.
Starting point is 00:58:24 Yeah. And see, that's what I wanted. I wanted if Terry Crews is upset that people aren't taking what happened to him serious. He is upset. Or is he regretting that he didn't smack that guy for grabbing his meat? I mean, look, he was thinking about his career. He was thinking about if I slap this man in the party.
Starting point is 00:58:37 This is the first time I've ever heard that he pushed a guy away, though. Yeah, I never heard that. I never heard that part. It made it seem like before the guy touched his meat and he just ran away with his wife. That's what I thought. Right.
Starting point is 00:58:46 He said, sir, you said I should have pushed him back or restrained him. And I did all of those things. But you act like I didn't. Were you there? So I guess he's just wants people to pay attention. So even when men are sexually assaulted, we should take those things seriously. And that's got to drive you crazy, too, knowing that you made a decision because you said to yourself, oh, i want to work in the future so you didn't do something that that that that regret right there will bother you too like you feel like you compromised yourself and then you also feel like if i slapped
Starting point is 00:59:13 him or punched him i could have been the one that actually ended up getting arrested he could have said i didn't do anything at all that's a shocking thing that happens in the in the spur of the moment you don't know what decision you might make if that's never happened to you but even if you slap the guy and then they arrest you like why'd you slap him he grabbed my meat he sexually in the spur of the moment. You don't know what decision you might make if that's never happened to you. Yeah, but even if you slapped a guy and then they arrest you, like, why'd you slap him? He grabbed my meat. He sexually assaulted me.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Yeah, I mean, he definitely would've got off on it. But, I mean, everybody handles things differently. I mean, that's how he handled it. I mean, people have the right to have their own opinion. And I don't like him threatening to slap DL when you didn't have that same energy with the guy who grabbed your meat. Like, I don't like that.
Starting point is 00:59:42 I mean, look, at the end of the day, we shouldn't make fun of people for coming forward and talking about their experiences. And that's called victim blaming, right? But he is a comedian. And comedians make fun of everything. No, you can't do that. Not anymore?
Starting point is 00:59:53 It's a double standard. Not anymore? Not even anymore because you couldn't do that to a woman. So you don't do that to a guy that's been sexually assaulted. I guess you're right. Kanye is suing Rockefeller Records and EMI Publishing. And that's all because of a dispute that has to do with their rights and obligations to one another.
Starting point is 01:00:08 He said he tried to purchase his publishing back from Sony, ATV, the parent company of EMI, and he said, I wanted to go buy my publishing, and they said it was $8 million, $9 million, and when I went to buy it, they told me, no, I couldn't buy my publishing. I have the money to buy my publishing. They told me I couldn't buy it. It's like the control. I can't say what I want to say on SNL.
Starting point is 01:00:26 So I guess now he's just trying to get his publishing, so now he's suing them for the rights to that. Well, he shouldn't release any more music unless they give him his publishing back, kind of like what Chris Brown, I'm sure, was going to do and a lot of these other artists are doing. I'm not going to re-sign for any longer unless I get my publishing.
Starting point is 01:00:39 All right, now, potential new couple alerts. We've been seeing Lori Harvey and Trey Songz together, so they've definitely confirmed it, posting. It is what it is. Lori seeing Lori Harvey and Trey Songz together, so they've definitely confirmed it posting. It is what it is. Lori Harvey posted her and Trey Songz. Looks like they're very much in love, so congratulations to that new couple. And speculation about Jeannie Mai and Jeezy.
Starting point is 01:00:57 Apparently, what? You said who? Jeannie Mai from the real. From the real? Yeah. I seen that picture with Jeezy. Yeah, with OT Genesis and Malika and Trey Songz and Lori Harvey and now Jeezy and Jeannie Mai. So I don't know for sure if they're coupled up, but it looked like a triple date.
Starting point is 01:01:16 So that's what people are saying. But it could have just been a party and they all happened to be in the same picture together. You know, Jeezy put out a sneaky album called Boston, George, and Diego. What is Boston, George, and Diego? It's a person. I remember he said that on Trapper. No, he said that on Thug Motivation, one-on-one he said that,
Starting point is 01:01:32 trying to get Boston, George, and Diego money. But he put out a project called Boston, George, and Diego. Went on Friday? It's like nine songs. I don't know when it came out. I listened to it last night. My man Hovain put me onto it,
Starting point is 01:01:42 and I was listening to it last night. How was it? Oh, yeah. Okay. It's okay. If you got to answer me onto it and I was listening to it last night. How was it? Oh, yeah. Okay. It's okay. If you got to answer with an um. I'm looking at videos
Starting point is 01:01:48 and everything. You know, I'm a Jeezy fan. It starts off cool. It don't end great. Pile Up is good. I like Pile Up. But it's cool. There's only nine songs.
Starting point is 01:01:57 How Jeezy would do that? I'm going to hit Jeezy. All right. Well, I'm Angela Yee and that is your Rumor Report. All right. Thank you, Ms. Yee. That's a collaboration album
Starting point is 01:02:03 between Jeezy and Boston George. Who's Boston George? He's a rapper. I guess he's a rapper. You never met Boston George? No. I'm surprised in all your travels. I don't know Diego.
Starting point is 01:02:14 Oh, Diego's Jeezy. Oh, okay. There you go. You guys don't know nothing. Is Boston George really a rapper, Yee? Yes. Or is that his nickname? It is.
Starting point is 01:02:21 Oh, okay. Boston George. Oh, yeah, he's really a rapper. Oh, I know Boston George. Yes, you do. As I say, I'm sure you've met. Boston George. Oh, yeah, he's really a rapper. Oh, I know Boston George. Yes, you do. As I say, I'm sure you've met him before. Oh. All right, that's your rumor report.
Starting point is 01:02:29 Goodness gracious, we're all over the place this morning. Shut up! Yes. Who you giving that donkey to? Why are you talking to me like that? First of all, we need Tom Brokaw to come to the front of the congregation. We'd like to have a word with him, okay? You want to know why I'm talking to you like that?
Starting point is 01:02:41 No, I don't. I really don't. Hey, that little devilish six-inch penis, get that away from me. I just told you I didn't want to. I did not want to know why I'm talking to you like that? No, I don't. I really don't. Hey, that little devilish six-inch penis, get that away from me. I just told you I didn't want to. I did not want to know why you were talking to me. Donkey of the Day is up next. It's the Breakfast Club. Keep on it.
Starting point is 01:02:55 It's time for Donkey of the Day. Donkeys of the Day, I'm Sheldon Mays. I'm a Democrat, so being Donkey of the Day is a little bit of a mixed place. So like a donkey. Keyhawk. Donkey of the Day. a little bit of a mixed place. So like a donkey. Keyhole. Donkey of the day. The Breakfast Club, bitches. Now, I've been called a lot in my 23 years, but donkey of the day is a new one.
Starting point is 01:03:13 Yes. Yes. Greetings, earthlings. Donkey of the day for Monday, January 28th. Goes to legendary news anchor Tom Brokaw. Tom Brokaw was on Meet the Press this past Sunday, and he was having a discussion with a group of panelists about what it would take to unite the
Starting point is 01:03:27 country. At some point in the conversation they started having a discussion about how the GOP is dealing with the rising Latin-ec electorate. I think that's how you pronounce that word. Latino electorate. Let's hear it. And a lot of this we don't want to talk about, but the fact is
Starting point is 01:03:43 on the Republican side, a lot of people we don't want to talk about, but the fact is on the Republican side, a lot of people see the rise of an extraordinarily important new constituent in American politics, Hispanics who will come here and all be Democrats. Also I hear when I push people a little harder, I don't know whether I want brown grand babies. I mean, that's also a part of it. It's the intermarriage that is going on and the cultures that are conflicting with each other. I also happen to believe that the Hispanics should work harder at assimilation. You know, that they ought not to be just codified in their communities,
Starting point is 01:04:12 but make sure that all their kids are learning to speak English and that they feel comfortable in the communities. And that's going to take outreach on both sides, frankly. Hold on before y'all get upset. What are you saying? Because y'all want the truth, but you can't handle the truth. Goodness gracious.
Starting point is 01:04:29 Just know that Tom Brokaw is a white 78-year-old man. He was born in 1940, so that means by the time the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was implemented, abolishing segregation, he was 24. Something tells me that
Starting point is 01:04:39 he wasn't too happy about that when it happened. Okay? All right, let's listen to what Tom Brokaw said on Meet the Press again. I also happen to believe that the Hispanics should work harder at assimilation. You know, that they ought not to be just codified in their communities,
Starting point is 01:04:52 but make sure that all their kids are learning to speak English and that they feel comfortable in the communities. See, I'm not mad at that. It's stupid, but I'm not mad at it. He's 78 years old. He's at that point in his life where he don't have anything to do but tell his truth before he dies. And the truth is, census population projections confirm that by 2045, the U.S. will be minority white, meaning white people will be the minority. Okay, see, by 2045, the whites will make up about 49.7% of the population.
Starting point is 01:05:23 But Hispanics will make up 24.6%. And blacks will make up 13.1%. And Asians will be 7.9%. And 3.8% for multiracial populations. How does this change America in the future? Well, from a political standpoint, as it currently stands, most Hispanics vote Democrat. Okay, most blacks vote Democrat. You have a lot of politicians on the Democratic side who represent those minority communities.
Starting point is 01:05:43 So who do you think these people are going to vote for? So what Tom Brokaw is saying is true. And he did apologize for it on Twitter. But don't backtrack on your truth, Tom. All right. Please tell us more about how these old white men think because this information is useful. All right. Now, Tom Brokaw should be getting donkier today for being xenophobic, which he is.
Starting point is 01:06:01 But he's also getting donkier today for spilling all the white man's secrets. Okay. How dare Tom Brokaw tell us what's spilling all the white man's secrets, okay? How dare Tom Brokaw tell us what's going on in the white man's huddle, alright? There's going to be a lot of side eyes at the country club for you this week, Tom. Now, white people, I'm going to tell you something. This isn't for the white people who just happen to be white, okay?
Starting point is 01:06:17 The allies. I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to the white people who are heavy on the helmets, alright? Y'all have to stop letting your elderly get on TV. It used to be a time in America when the bigotry was covert, all right? A lot of people like to blame the overt bigotry and racism on Trump. He definitely is a contributor to that.
Starting point is 01:06:33 But a lot of these white men just old. They can't control their bladders at 78. If I can't control what comes out my butt, how can I control what comes out my mouth? Give me a fart, drum. Hmm? Whoa. The butt thing comes out.
Starting point is 01:06:46 There you go. Too much goddamn mayonnaise. That's right. Too much mayonnaise messes up your stomach, all right? Okay, these white men are talking out loud because they're old, and they're giving away the game plan, okay? That's why Tom Brokaw said he's, that's what Tom Brokaw, I remember what he said.
Starting point is 01:07:02 He specifically said when they are sitting around eating mayonnaise out of the jar. Conservative folks have expressed fear of having brown grandbabies, OK, due to interracial couples. All right. Listen, just listen to this. I also happen to believe that the Hispanics should work harder at assimilation. You know that they ought not to be just codified in their communities, but make sure that all their kids are learning to speak English and that they feel comfortable in the communities. They're talking out loud because they're old. Okay. They're talking out loud because they're old and they're giving away the game plan.
Starting point is 01:07:34 All right. Okay. I'm telling you, man, just imagine you're just sitting around eating mayonnaise out the jar and that's how they're talking. All right. What he's saying is Hispanics need to be white. Okay. That's what he's saying when he says he wants them to assimilate and be more American.
Starting point is 01:07:47 He wants them to be more white and conservative because if they identify as white and conservative, then in the future they will vote Republican and the GOP will still be in power. But hey, don't listen to me. I'm just a man with a receding hairline who literally this morning was Googling how much hairline implants cost in South Africa. So what do I know? How much? Please give Tom Brokaw the biggest hee-haw. $3,999 is the average price.
Starting point is 01:08:12 $3,999 is the average price for hair transplants in South Africa. All right. I Googled it this morning. I don't know why. You see people getting tattoos now, right? Did you see that? That's corny. I don't want that. What do you getting tattoos now, right? Did you see that? That's corny. I don't want that.
Starting point is 01:08:26 What do you want? I want a real hairline. If I want it, if I'm going to get it, I'm going to get it. If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it. All right.
Starting point is 01:08:35 All right. Well, thank you for that. I got a little money. Thank you for that, dog. Little change. Why South Africa? Does South Africa do the hairlines the best?
Starting point is 01:08:40 Why did you say it was Googling South Africa? I just feel like if everybody can fly to DR to get their ass done. I feel like when they fly abroad, their plastic surgery look better. So I want to fly abroad.
Starting point is 01:08:49 Let me go back to the motherland. You know what I'm saying? To get back what's mine. Okay, your hairline. My hairline. All right. God damn it. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:55 All right. Well, thank you for that donkey today. Now, when we come back, Tony Gaskins Jr. was here this morning and we were talking about how important is sex in a relationship. Can we play the clip? You think that a relationship can be successful if you're in love but there's no physical like lust or attraction to each other yes i think it can but you it has to be built on
Starting point is 01:09:17 communication sex in a relationship is a plus not priority. And when we understand that the largest sexual organ is the mind, and you focus on making love to the mind instead of making love to the body, that is when sex loses its power and real love flourishes. All right, let's open up the phone lines. We'll talk about it when we come back. 800-585-1051. How important is sex in a relationship? Somebody pull up the Dead Prez Mind Sex Instrumental.
Starting point is 01:09:47 I need that. I need to talk over that as I'm thinking about this. All right, we'll talk about it. I'm pondering this. When we come back, it's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 01:10:00 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us, Tony Gaskins Jr., relationship expert, stopped through earlier today. We were talking about sex and relationship, and this is what he had to say. You think that a relationship can be successful if you're in love, but there's no physical, like, lust or attraction to each other. Yes, I think it can, but it has to be built on communication. Sex in a relationship is a plus, not a priority. And when we understand that the largest sexual organ
Starting point is 01:10:34 is the mind, and you focus on making love to the mind instead of making love to the body, that is when sex loses its power and real love flourishes. So 805-85-1051, how important is sex in a relationship? Now, Tony basically said, I guess, it's not as important as people say it is. It's not a priority. Yes, I don't know about that.
Starting point is 01:10:56 I think it depends on what's important is that you guys are in sync with each other. For instance, if one person wants to have sex and the other person doesn't, then that could make that person who wants to have sex feel unattractive, feel unwanted, feel undesired, and feel unfulfilled. Now, if you both are on the same accord where you're both like, okay, you're both too tired, you're both not wanting to do it,
Starting point is 01:11:17 you're both cuddling and still having that intimacy, then that's fine. But I think if one person wants it and the other person doesn't, that can cause issues. I think it is very important. Yes, I agree with him when I say, yes, making love to the mind and having that connection is important. But sex is definitely important. Making your spouse feel sexy, attractive is definitely important in all relationships.
Starting point is 01:11:37 So the fact that he said that, I don't get it. Not in my relationship. But what if something were to happen to somebody where someone can't have sex anymore? If you can't, if your penis is cut off or you can't get it. Not in my relationship. But what if something would have happened to somebody where someone can't have sex anymore? If you can't, if your penis is cut off, or you can't get hard, or you're paralyzed beneath the waist. I just gotta say. Why?
Starting point is 01:11:52 If you're paralyzed beneath the waist. I just wanna be clear. But DJ Envy said cut the penis off. Angela said what if something happened, but then you go cut the penis off. Like what if you have erectile dysfunction? There's pills and stuff for that, though. It doesn't always work. How do you know?
Starting point is 01:12:08 Because I was just reading somebody sent me a whole ask you about it. Oh, but you know, if that's the case, then that's something different, but your mouth still works, and you can still have some type of sexual relationship, I think. Listen, man, sex in a relationship is a plus, not a priority. I'm asking myself that question.
Starting point is 01:12:24 I don't want to call it just a myself that question I don't want to call it just a plus but I don't want to call it a priority if you'd have asked me this 10 or 15 years ago I would have said it's a priority
Starting point is 01:12:30 but at the age of 40 when I'm rubbing CBD oil on my back at night and my joints before I go to bed it don't seem like a priority to me at my age
Starting point is 01:12:38 a good night's sleep with my hand on your leg it's just as satisfying to you maybe that's her she probably looks at you when you sleep like, She probably laying there looking at the ceiling like, like, oh.
Starting point is 01:12:48 Don't sleep again. I really wish I had more chestnuts. We got three kids. Old man and old. Old man and old. We got three kids, okay, three young kids. Maybe the rumor is that he is gay is true. We got three young kids.
Starting point is 01:13:01 We working out. We got things that we're doing during the day. Like, she be tired. Especially, we got a four we're doing during the day. Like, she be tired. Especially, we got a four-month-old at home. Like, she ain't thinking about no sex right now. How do you know? Because I talk to my wife, fool. What do I know?
Starting point is 01:13:12 This is something so great. How do I know? How do you know? This is my wife. Me and you see her staring at the ceiling at night. Yeah, this is something so great, though, when the relationship is great and the sex is great also. Absolutely. It's amazing.
Starting point is 01:13:23 It's like perfect. Well, yeah, it is. But, you know, like when you really got, see, when you young, you ain't got nothing to do but have sex. Because you ain't got
Starting point is 01:13:30 nothing else to do. You got nothing else. You ain't got no kids. You don't got no other real priorities in your life. So, yeah, of course, sex is going to be a priority. But when you got real priorities
Starting point is 01:13:39 in your life, sex is like, gets lower and lower on that list. Okay, old man. Old man. Drew. What's going on? Drew, what's up, man?
Starting point is 01:13:47 How important is sex in your relationship, bro? Hey, man, it goes good. Like, me and my girl can go a long time, a short time. I have a bigger sex drive than she does. But, you know, we work it out at the end of the day. And, you know, if we don't have it, we don't have it. And then if we do, we do. Do y'all ever, like, have arguments about it
Starting point is 01:14:05 or you guys are cool? We have had them in the past, but I mean, we both want the same thing, so. How long y'all been together? About five years. How old are y'all? She's 32, I'm 30. Oh yeah, y'all should be having a little bit more sex than that now. At 32 and 30.
Starting point is 01:14:21 I'm gonna judge their relationship. If it goes down, trust me, it goes down. And we have about... Don't try to show out now. You just said, y'all don't be having sex. Don't try to show out.
Starting point is 01:14:31 It goes down. It goes down. Hello, who's this? Yeah, hello, hello, hello. This is Clean Up. Is this thing on? Oh, boy. Clean Up,
Starting point is 01:14:40 I know what you're going to say. He goes down every night. You the man. You make a s*** and s*** ten times a night. Whoa, you sound jealous. Oh, man. Oh, man. Oh, man. Iten up. I know what you're going to say. You go down every night. You the man. You make a s*** and s*** ten times a night. Wow. You sound jealous. Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:14:47 Oh, man. Oh, man. It's not even that. It's not even that, man. I just wanted to say because I heard the last conversation with your boy talking about the mind and the love. The mind and the love. It's 2019 now.
Starting point is 01:14:58 You got to understand something. Right now, everything is everything. And sex is actually the main thing of the relationship. Because without sex Your girlfriend Or your boyfriend Gonna cheat on you The financials Gonna get messed up
Starting point is 01:15:10 Everything get messed up So yeah So what's gonna happen When you get What's gonna happen When you get old Like 60, 70, 80 And that penis
Starting point is 01:15:18 Ain't getting hard no more What you gonna do then? Come on Come on Charlamagne You already know the vibes man That's what happens man When they got Viagra And all this other damn stuff going on. Ha, you know the vibes, Viagra.
Starting point is 01:15:30 You know the vibes, Viagra. You know what I'm saying? Viagra is a new technology. Viagra is a new technology. 4hims.com. You know the vibes. All right. Imagine me at 80 years old talking about, you know the vibes.
Starting point is 01:15:39 I need Viagra. 5-8-5-1-0-5-1. How important is sex in a relationship? Call us now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
Starting point is 01:15:51 We are The Breakfast Club. If you just joined us, Tony Gaskins Jr., he was here earlier. He's a relationship expert. Relationship coach. A relationship coach. We were talking about how important sex is in a relationship. Now, Charlamagne said it's not that important. He said he's old.
Starting point is 01:16:04 I didn't say that. He just likes to touch your legs. I didn't say that. Stop putting words in my mouth. He said Charlamagne said it's not that important. He said he's old. I didn't say that. He just likes to touch his legs. I didn't say that. Stop putting words in my mouth. He said just pour a little Bengay on his back. That's not what I said. And he said he's good money. What I said is I'm not going to go so far as to say it's a plus. I think sex is a lot more than a plus. But I think that when you get
Starting point is 01:16:19 older, it's not necessarily a priority because you've got real priorities. How many real priorities do you got in your life? Like, seriously. I want you to write down your priorities. But that has to be a priority in a relationship. How high is it up on the list? Is it top three? It can't be, right? It depends on the day. If you have a little extra
Starting point is 01:16:35 time, listen, I'll tell you this, though. There's a bond that you feel after you have sex with each other that sometimes can help you have a better day or, you know, anything. Priorities don't change from day to day. And also, it could just be like 20 minutes out your day. There's nothing wrong with that.
Starting point is 01:16:52 Your real priorities are your career, your kids. You can still have your career. You can still have your kids and still have sex. So where does it fall? I'm saying, where does it fall under priorities? Well, let's go to the phone line. That's what I want to know. Hey, Mike, what's going on, Mike? I've been married with my wife, you know, 17 years now, and it's always been a high priority for me, but not such as a
Starting point is 01:17:08 power priority for her. Things changed a lot since we had our kids, but, you know, up until recently, I guess two weeks ago, you know, I've actually been going through mental health issues and found out that I have been overly sexualized for the relationship, and I think it's been putting a damper on it. Wow, did you get touched on when you were younger? No, I didn't, no. Oh. No, I was in the military, and they said I was suffering from PTSD and actually a little bipolar disorder as well.
Starting point is 01:17:38 And with bipolar, I guess it has you over-sexualized. I didn't realize this, obviously, until, like I said, recently. And it puts a hurt on the relationship because you want one thing and she wants something different. And then you're not doing the mental sex, as you guys were discussing earlier. And I think that if it is something that's important that needs to be discussed even further, then it's probably something that's not talked about enough
Starting point is 01:18:04 and not used enough in relationships. discussed even further because it's probably something that's not talked about enough and not used enough in relationships. Yeah, because you can't have that mental connection if your mental health isn't where you need it to be. Right, and it wasn't. But the thing is we used to see, or I personally used to see people like, you always say, well, they're
Starting point is 01:18:19 crazy, but they're not. The mental health is real. Absolutely. And having those issues, it would be an address. I mean, I am seeing my counselor now and they're helping me to get over some of these things and just realize what's wrong and what's right. But just to get back to the point of the mental love, the mental sex, it's a real connection because it's a disconnect when you don't have that. And then again, it's put a strain on a relationship.
Starting point is 01:18:45 Now think about that. This brother is having mental health issues, so he cannot connect with his woman on a mental level. So if you can't connect on a mental level, it's going to definitely affect the physical level. Well, let's go to Crystal. Hello? Oh, you're not Crystal. Hello, what's your name, bro? Murphy out of Pompano Beach.
Starting point is 01:19:02 Alright, Murphy. What do you think about sex? How important is sex in a relationship, bro? Oh, man, I think it's very important. But I actually wanted to make a statement addressing Charlamagne about a few things he was saying when the expert was in the building. Talk to me. All right, check it. Hey, how you doing, by the way, man? I appreciate you guys.
Starting point is 01:19:19 Talk show every morning, man. I listen to it all the time. Thank you, sir. But I'm a strong believer that in a classroom, only two types of people are supposed to talk. And that's the teacher and the jackass. You clearly was the donkey of the day when the expert was speaking.
Starting point is 01:19:33 I felt like when you were talking about the threesomes and stuff like that, you didn't only just dishonor yourself, you dishonored your wife by getting excited or thinking with your nuts instead of your brain at that time. What'd he say? Yeah, I would like to know what I said because I don't think you were listening, sir.
Starting point is 01:19:49 I was listening very well, boss. What happened was the expert was talking, somebody brought up the question about if threesomes are pretty much a good thing in a relationship. And the guy was giving strong points on why threesomes aren't a good thing and how bringing in that stuff inside of a marriage could ultimately destroy a marriage. Yes, and I spoke about people I know who it works for. And I said that you cannot tell somebody what works for them and what doesn't work for them. So how is that being a jackass?
Starting point is 01:20:19 Well, like I was saying, right, what the brother was speaking about, I think historically and culturally goes towards the white man's state of mind and thinking and stuff like that. Now, see, that's a jackass way of thinking, because the people that I was talking about was actually Tiana Taylor and Amon Shumpert. And then I got another couple, Ronnie DeVoy. What's his wife's name? It didn't work for them.
Starting point is 01:20:41 It didn't work for them. Those are two black couples. So what are you talking about? That's wickedness, brother. That's something that they adopted to try to... You know what? You hold on. You guys are arguing about other things.
Starting point is 01:20:52 Hold on. You hold on. Hold on. So you sit in the classroom and you're just supposed to listen to somebody talk? If you got questions, you ask questions. And if you don't agree with something, you say you don't agree. I don't see the problem. Let's get back to the topic.
Starting point is 01:21:04 What do we think now? How important is sex in a relationship? What's the moral of this story, guys? It's not everything. No. Yeah, I don't agree with something, you say you don't agree. I don't see the problem. Let's get back to the topic. What do we think now? How important is sex in a relationship? What's the moral of the story, guys? It's not everything. No. Yeah, I don't think it's everything. I'm not going to sit here and say it's just a plus, though. I don't agree with that.
Starting point is 01:21:13 Tony Gaskin said it's just a plus. I don't agree with that. I think it is a priority. It is a priority. But where does it fall on your list of priorities? I agree with you. And sometimes it's representative of how well the relationship is going, too. At times, it can be a reflection of things are great, we're having sex all the time.
Starting point is 01:21:29 Because I know, like, when things are great, you feel, like, very sexual towards each other. And, you know. And you got to think, if you really, really, really, really, really love somebody, and you plan to spend the rest of your life with them, y'all going to get old. All right. And there's going to be a point in time where y'all not going to be able to have sex. So if sex is like your top number one,
Starting point is 01:21:47 number two, number three priority, you better learn some mind sex tricks. You better learn how to connect in another way. But there's nothing
Starting point is 01:21:53 like being able to sleep in, cuddled up, have sex, go back to sleep. I ain't got all that time to sleep in. Nope, you know why? Because you got kids
Starting point is 01:21:59 and them kids coming to knock on that door at 7, 8 o'clock in the morning. And you know what comes before sex at 7, 8 o'clock in the morning on a Saturday?
Starting point is 01:22:05 What? Breakfast for them damn kids. Well, sorry for you. All right. We got rumors on the way? Yes, we are going to talk about Tory Lanez versus Don Q. What's going on with these two? Also, we're talking hamburgers.
Starting point is 01:22:18 All right. We'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. You know the guy that called last, when we were doing the talk about Tony Gaskins,
Starting point is 01:22:29 and he said he was having mental health issues, so it was affecting his sex life? It was affecting his sex life. Yes. I'm sitting here thinking, if you're having problems connecting on a mental level with your partner because of mental health issues, how about go to couples therapy?
Starting point is 01:22:39 Couples therapy might be sexy. You know what I'm saying? When you unclog that mind, then you unclog those pipes after that. Shout out to BDOT from Rat Raider. He just hit me. I guess he's upset about what Tony Gaskins had to say about sex not being important.
Starting point is 01:22:54 He's having problems? I don't know. He was like, this guy is full of it. Why? A lot of people said that. I don't agree. I don't necessarily agree with Tony Gaskins. Tony Gaskins already knows That people have issues
Starting point is 01:23:05 Yeah but I just don't think I'm not going to sit here And say sex is just a plus I think sex is a priority But where does it fall On your priority list Is the question
Starting point is 01:23:13 It probably varies all the time Depending on what else Is going on in your life It does I'm sure it does Alright now the priority Is rumor report Alright well let's get into it
Starting point is 01:23:20 It's about time What's going on Rumor report Rumor report This is the rumor report Talk to them Well, let's get into it. It's about time. What's going on? Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is the Rumor Report. Talk to them. With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:23:35 Well, Tory Lanez versus Don Q. It all went down when Don Q accused Tory Lanez of biting his style in a freestyle. Here's the original freestyle. And now we'll play what Don Q said and then what Tory Lanez said. That's why it's f***ed up. I missed that that fast. Yeah, you see it was two clips playing back to back, so you could hear the same lines or whatever.
Starting point is 01:24:10 So that's the backstory. Now, Tory Lanez has been saying he's the best rapper alive right now. I will body any of y'all, period. And for anybody denying what I'm saying, that's cool. Just remember, your favorite rapper won't step up the last time because N-Words is afraid of this work. Well, Don Q is not afraid of that work, and he put out this song, I'm Not Joyner, as far as I'm not Joyner Lucas,
Starting point is 01:24:28 and here's a snippet from that. This is when it gets spicy. You want the funk flex and start it spinning just like me. Speak up if I'm lying. You told me that you watch my freestyle hundreds of times. Guess that's why you sound like me in a couple of lines. You said memories don't die, my memory don't lie. You literally went up there and mimicked me the whole time,
Starting point is 01:24:45 putting niggas on the list list You tell the world it's forced But when I sent you backstage You admitted to this I ain't joined the Lucas Never went to college I'm a corner student Before the music White tan and pills
Starting point is 01:24:54 And it's all in two So this ain't what you want It's stupid I threw the bait Huge mistake You about to fall into it Show me your heart I was all for this
Starting point is 01:25:01 Until I saw Tory Lanez Telling Don Q suck my D Why'd he do that? They was cool. Exactly. It's always taking it too far. I thought it was a bomb. And Don Q said back to him, suck my D.
Starting point is 01:25:10 I just don't understand why I got to go to D sucking. I don't want to rap no more when you tell me suck my D. Yeah, that's always taking it too far when the two of them are going back and forth saying that. I'm sure for you it's all about size, right? Yeah, that little devilish six-inch penis, get that away from me. My father always said if you tell someone suck my D, you better be ready
Starting point is 01:25:26 to die or kill or suck the D. I just think that when you start saying things like suck my D, it's not rap no more. All right, well people are definitely weighing in.
Starting point is 01:25:35 Tory Lanez posted when he landed back in the United States. So we shall see what happens with this. Now YG has an issue with people approaching him in the airport
Starting point is 01:25:42 trying to sneak film him. All right, here's what went down on his social media. That's a bitch right here. Straight bitch. Trying to record on some weird shit. If we wasn't in the airport, I'd knock your ass off. I don't see the problem with what YG did. I mean, I'm glad he did not come out.
Starting point is 01:26:01 The person is clearly a fan of his, but it is annoying to have somebody trying to sneak record you. Stop invading people's space. Don't just be running up on people with cameras. You're invading people's space. You don't know what people are going through, man. People are fans. They don't ever get to see you. They're hyped and they're excited and they want to take video and then photos.
Starting point is 01:26:15 It did look so sad when you saw him. I don't know if you saw the kid. I was like, YG, please don't knock him out. Why can't a person just ask you if they can get a video? Why they can't just ask you if they can take a picture? Because y'all say no. Leave me alone. And if they say no, you gotta accept that no. Alright, now let's discuss Diddy. Diddy was thinking about buying Fat
Starting point is 01:26:32 Burger. Check it out. Yo, Fat Burger, I'm f***ing with y'all. Fat Burger, call me. I may want to buy the company and I'm gonna make healthy burgers and just beef burgers. Alright, well he has since reneged on that and said that he actually wants to own his own Diddy Burgers. Wouldn't you want to eat a Diddy Burger with some Diddy buns?
Starting point is 01:26:49 I don't want Diddy's meat in my mouth. I don't want no Diddy's buns. All right. Well, guess who did also buy a burger place? Shout out to Currency. He posted, the ink is dry now so I could talk about it. For years, me and my loved ones have pulled up to this historic location near City Park to enjoy a tasty burger. Recently, the place went up for sale.
Starting point is 01:27:06 I was considering purchasing a Don and a Bentley. Instead, I bought a business. Now it's time to remodel and rebrand. Life Burger Nola coming soon. So congrats to Currency for his new purchase. And don't get a twisted curse. He got about 100 cars. So shout out to Currency.
Starting point is 01:27:20 I'm glad he did that investment. Diddy Burger would be fired if they named the burgers after different people. Like what? Different type of sauce. Like the Farnsworth Bentley. The Mace. You know what I mean? Which one would you want?
Starting point is 01:27:31 I don't know. The Biggie Burger. Ooh. That's not bad. The Biggie Burger. That's the super-sized one. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:27:43 That's not a bad idea. The total burger with all the toppings. I'm surprised he thought those. Him and Mark Wahlberg is mad cool, and Wahlberg is making a fortune. Yes. All right, I'm Angela Yee, and that's your rumor report. All right, shout out to Revolt. We'll see you guys tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:27:58 Everybody else, let me know what you want to hear in the mix. Today is Rick Ross' birthday, so get your request in. And Trav, yes, I know Trav, it's J. Cole's birthday, too, so get your request in. And Trav, yes, I know Travis. J. Cole's birthday, too. So get your request in. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:28:12 Now, shout out to Tony Gaskins Jr. for joining us again. Yes, and sparking a good conversation. Right. Great conversation. And once again, you know, he said that he thinks sex is a plus, not a priority. I don't think that it's a plus. I think it is a priority. It's just a matter of where it falls
Starting point is 01:28:27 on your list of priorities. Right. You know what I'm saying? Which I'm sure will always shift depending on what else is happening because life happens. A hundred percent. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:28:35 Everybody got different priorities. Like, sex is not... I don't know where sex falls in mine. You know what I'm saying? I don't think about it like that. Like, it's not a top five thing for me. Right. You know?
Starting point is 01:28:47 Not in life. Correct. I got a career. I got kids. There's a lot of moving parts. A lot of stuff going on. I want to make myself more mentally healthy. I like exercise to keep my physical in shape.
Starting point is 01:28:57 It's a lot of things that come before sex as a priority. It is. It is. It is. Priority. Priority. That word priority means something. It is. It is. It is. You know, priority. Priority. That word priority means something. Priority.
Starting point is 01:29:09 It's a tough one. And you know what? I had a great weekend. Shout out to first everybody that if you get a chance and you got small kids, take them to Monster Jam. I took my son. My son loves trucks. I took him to Monster Jam over the weekend.
Starting point is 01:29:21 Very loud. But he had an amazing time. I went out to Prudential Center in Newark, and they're all over the country. So if you get a chance, take your child, if you can, to Monster Jam. Tickets were not that bad in price, and they had a wonderful time. There's female drivers that get busy. There's minority drivers. It was just a great day with the kids, with my boys.
Starting point is 01:29:42 Is it better than the Universal Circus? It's different. Shout out to everybody that came out to my— And pit bulls that can balance the balls on the air. great day with the kids, with my boys. Is it better than the Universal Circus? And also, shout out to everybody that came out to my... And pit bulls that can balance the balls on their nose. I'm not messing with you, and shout out to everybody
Starting point is 01:29:51 that came out to my real estate seminar. I did it actually in my borough of Queens when I was born, and we had an amazing time. There was a... I thought you were
Starting point is 01:29:59 born in Brooklyn at Brookdale Hospital. I was born in Brooklyn, but I was raised in Queens. You said where I was born. I spent my life in Queens. Okay, there you go, because you was born in Brooklyn. 18 years of my life was in Queens. I was born in Brooklyn, but I was raised in Queens. You said where I was born. I spent my life in Queens. Okay, there you go, because you was born in Brooklyn. 18 years of my life was in Queens. I was in Brooklyn one day, then
Starting point is 01:30:09 I got out of there. I don't even know how I made it out of Brooklyn. Whoa, what's that supposed to mean? Brooklyn's crazy. But shout out to everybody that came out to the real estate seminar. We had an amazing time. There's about 10 to 15% of the people that actually come to the seminar that starts to invest, and we just that's what we're trying to do. We're trying to get people to get out there and invest in real estate,
Starting point is 01:30:27 start buying homes, start buying properties, just create wealth for your family. So shout to everybody that came out. It was just amazing to do it in my borough of Queens. So shout to everybody. We're going to do a ride along next month where we're going to take people actually through some of the houses that we bought so they can see the demolitions, the renovations, you know, fixing it up, framing it, seeing the whole thing in the house.
Starting point is 01:30:48 I want them to walk into the house where they see the ish on the floor and the heroin needles and see what goes into busting down these houses. It's the truth. I mean, you don't go to these houses. They're not sweet and pretty. They're effed up houses. Well, you know, I was in Detroit over the weekend, and I'm actually doing a full gut rehab of this house. You know how expensive it is to get all new windows? How much? It costs more than a house costs.
Starting point is 01:31:31 That's not true. I got a window guy for you. Yeah, but this is a historic district in Detroit, and it has to be up to a certain code. You have to submit it. It has to get approved. It has to be exactly how the windows were, so you can't just put any windows in. I got a window guy for you. He does amazing jobs, believe me.
Starting point is 01:31:46 He made some stuff happen. I'll send you his number. We'll see. I'm telling you, it's different. It's different. I got a window guy. He makes some miracles happen. Because if you don't put it up to code the way that it has to be in that district,
Starting point is 01:31:59 you got to start all over again. I got a window guy, but I'll tell you all fair. All right, when we come back, positive note. Don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:32:12 Now, Charlamagne. Yes. You got a positive note? Listen, man. I want to salute my man Carl Lentz and Hillsong NYC. I went to the 8 p.m. service yesterday. And, you know, me and Pastor Carl had a conversation in front of the congregation. I really needed that.
