Ever dreamt about starting your own?
I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete.
Or maybe not.
No country willingly gives up their territory.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.

Weekday mornings 6 to 10
Morning everybody, it's DJ Envy Angela Yee
Charlamagne Tha God, we are the Breakfast Club
Special guest in the building
Last time she was here she was only 20
That's right, now she can drink illegally
Give her a shot
Yeah
Miss Jasmine V
Oh, there's shots in?
You drink brown or white?
She's on tour right now.
She doesn't have time to be drinking.
Brown?
She's a brown?
Well, when I come back, I got you.
You sure?
Yeah.
It's like 10 in the morning.
You went to a trap queen.
What did you do?
You went to Vegas for your birthday?
Yeah, I did.
And what happened in Vegas?
Or does that stay there?
You know what's crazy?
As I was sober.
What?
For my 21st.
Yep, I was sober.
So when tour's over, I'm going straight to Vegas.
Really?
Yeah, I'm redoing it.
You're going to Vegas.
You got a show?
I performed at one of the clubs.
I performed at the bank.
Okay.
And I didn't want to drink
because I was performing.
So I was like, let me just,
and I had like a couple drinks.
I was completely sober.
I went home the next day.
So I'm having a round two
when I go back home.
And you're single now, right?
Yeah.
I just tried to hook Jasmine V
up with Niamh from Catfish.
Yes, he did.
I don't think she was
feeling him too much. Well, I mean. I told her she needed. That's an awkward hook Jasmine V up with Neve from Catfish. Yes, he did. I don't think she was feeling him too much.
Well, I mean.
I told her she needed.
That's an awkward hookup at that moment.
She's never met him.
You guys told me he had a champ stamp.
Yeah.
It's called a champ stamp.
A champ stamp.
Okay.
But wouldn't that be cute?
You can get a matching one.
Let me ask you something.
That's me right there.
The video.
The guy in the video.
Did you pick him?
You know what's funny
Is
I didn't
I didn't initially pick him
When I met him
We were having a meeting
With his friend
And he came along
With his friend
And
You said that's me right there
Get talking to the mic
Jasmine
Oh sorry
Put your lips on the mic
Boo
So
And my manager saw him
And she was like
He'd be perfect for the video
And I was actually
Before she mentioned it I was like Trying to find his social media, but I couldn't find it.
Oh, so you thought he was cute.
Oh, yeah, of course.
I was trying to see if that's your type then.
If you picked him and were like, okay, that's the kind of guy.
Oh, yeah, that's definitely my type.
Well, I love tall guys.
I love tall guys.
But I'm a sucker for colored eyes, so I have to say.
Colored guys?
Colored eyes.
I didn't know they were still
using that term.
Now you're all Filipino. You used to be managed
by Manny Pacquiao. Who do you have on the
fight?
That was real?
I thought Envy said that
but I thought he was just trying to be funny.
You don't have to be managed by Manny Pacquiao.
You know the whole Filipino thing.
You were really managed by Manny Pacquiao. You know the whole Filipino thing. Are you really mad about Manny Pacquiao?
Yeah.
I said that.
I was in the Philippines for like three months,
and I was doing a bunch of stuff out there.
This one, I was singing the national anthem for his fights.
But I mean, they're both toxic, but I'm good for Manny.
You got your money on the colored guy?
I got my money on Pacquiao.
Really?
I love Pacquiao.
He's amazing.
Is it a Filipino thing, or do you really think he's a Filipino?
I just really love Pacquiao.
Do you guys still stay in touch?
I haven't talked to him in a while, actually.
So you can't call him and be like, hey, man, I need some front row tickets to the fight.
No, but, you know, I was actually thinking about that yesterday.
I was like, maybe.
It wouldn't be much, you know.
This is the fight you should be singing.
This is the fight you should sing at.
Put that call in.
I need to.
Or just even be there.
There's no hot Filipino singers they can call, right?
Who else is out there?
There's a lot. There's a lot. Really? Not that I can name off top. Exactly. There's no hot Filipino singers they can call, right? Who else is out there? There's a lot.
There's a lot.
Really?
Not that I can name off top.
Exactly.
Maybe Manny Pagos is going to sing his own national anthem before the fight.
He would.
He has a nice voice.
Did he ever talk to you about doing something with him?
Because you know he sings too.
Back then, I would just watch him sing karaoke after everything he did.
He had a nice voice.
How long ago was this?
I was 15.
So you was there
when they initially started talking about him
and Mayweather fighting. Did he ever trash talk Mayweather?
Never. Never.
He never trash talked anybody.
Did you ever see him take any performance enhancing drugs?
Nope. I'm just kidding.
I've never seen anything. That's the thing. Everybody always talks about it.
I was like, I've never seen any of this stuff.
Alright, and then the other person,
you're connected with everybody some way, some how.
Because Damon Dash's son was also
up here and she used to be signed to Damon Dash
as well.
She did have a chance to check out the interview from when he
was up here.
Neve is trying to get in, Jamie.
You're such a liar.
Neve is trying to get in.
Neve is like, yo, what's up?
Let's set it up.
See, look, you got everybody doing it now.
Tell Neve to come in here real quick.
Tell him to come in.
Let's set it up.
Grab Neve.
Hey, you in the flat with the biggie, smallest lumberjack.
Grab Neve.
What's his name?
Rob.
Rob, grab Neve.
She's turning red.
Neve.
Neve, come here for a second.
Oh my goodness, she's turning red.
Come here, Neve.
We're just trying to vet you out.
Not Neve, you're single.
Jasmine, she's single. Hey, I was. She's 21 now. 21. Look at them to vet you out. We're trying to vet you out. I'm trying to vet him.
She's 20. She's 21 now.
21. There you go.
And she likes older guys.
I'm leaning in. Can you see that?
Yeah, and she likes tall guys. Is he tall enough?
No, he's tall, yeah.
You guys, see, look at what you guys are doing.
Maybe y'all should follow each other on Twitter. Maybe you should catfish her, Neve.
I think it's too late.
Can you dance, Neve? Actually, I think I'm a pretty good dancer let's see something she likes move you is a cool guy. One of the coolest guys I know.
I got you, Nev.
I heard about your champ stamp.
Ooh.
So you've been Googling.
All secrets out.
Now you know everything.
He had sex with a dolphin as well.
The ball is in your court.
I'm down.
I'm available.
This is kinky.
I'm available.
Jasmine B.
Would you go on a date with Nev?
All right.
Sure.
Okay.
Maybe. Okay. Maybe.
You guys.
Wait till the door closes.
Wait till the door closes.
Can we talk about it for real?
That's never happened to me before.
Nobody's ever tried to set me up with somebody right in front of my eyes.
I thought she was going to say that's never going to happen.
He's a nice guy.
No, he's really nice.
You don't need one of these cool industry dudes.
I know the cool thing to do is go get a rapper.
I don't know.
You know what? No. That's not even cool either thing to do is to go get a rapper. I don't know. You know what?
No.
That's not even cool either,
to be honest.
But everybody got one.
Kim Kardashian got a rapper.
Kylie Jenner got a rapper.
Beyonce got a rapper.
You want something totally different.
I agree on that.
The guy who created Catfish.
I actually went back.
You know what's funny today
when I was looking at all my Jasmine V stuff,
I went back to look at you in the baby video. really were so young i was really looking beat in that video
oh my god i looked so bad you think so when you look back at that oh yeah they didn't let me put
any makeup on what yeah because you were so young really then i put no makeup on i was looking you
didn't need it though so when did justin start to like you after that video or yeah when you
started putting makeup on you should not have given him no play if he didn't need it though So when did Justin Start to like you After that video Yeah When you started
Putting makeup on
You should not have
Given him no play
If he didn't like you
Until you put makeup on
Right after the video
I was like
No I'm just kidding
No it's funny
Because he asked my mom
For my number
Right after we shot the video
He was like
Can I have your number
And she was like
Sure
I was like
Okay
He asked your mom
He asked my mom
If it was okay
What a gentleman
What was your first Conversation like When he called you I was like, okay. He asked your mom for you. He asked my mom if it was okay. What a gentleman.
What was your first conversation like when he called you?
It was over FaceTime.
And I was a little shy because I was like, I was like 16.
So I was like, um.
And then he ended up, I don't know, he ended up surprising me one day.
And I went to a hockey game with him because we were supposed to hang out or whatever and um he was so busy so he didn't want to set a date and then cancel so my manager's like we're gonna go to a hockey game at the staples center i was like okay i don't really
watch sports but that's cool and she's like we're gonna go to the you know watch a hockey game with
uh because i was signed to sony epic at the time she was like with like the label i was like okay so i walk up and like her story doesn't make any sense and he just pops up out
of nowhere oh and i was like oh you're cute yeah so we watched the hockey game probably hates him
now your mom like i'm so glad you didn't date him no she doesn't hate us she she loves him
yeah i mean my grandma loves him that was a huge look you were signed before that but that was like
everybody knew and then you went on tour with him so that was a huge look. You were signed before that, but that was like everybody knew.
And then you went on tour with him.
So that was a big deal.
So you can't hate somebody that was there in the beginning.
You had an opportunity.
But it had to be hard when you guys were caught making out in the back of the car
and then it was all over the blog.
It happened right when I started the tour, which was scary for me
because I was like, oh, I'm going to go on stage.
Because I was getting middle fingers anyways.
They were waiting for Justin.
No, no, see.
What happened?
Middle finger.
Well, go ahead.
What did she say?
She said people were giving her the middle finger.
Oh, I didn't know.
I thought you said you were getting fingered anyway.
I didn't know what you were talking about.
I'm like, wow, you're so honest.
Right?
I'm just blending it all out today.
No, I was already getting flipped off for being in the video.
So when I got caught with that, yeah. So when I got caught with that, yeah.
So when I got caught with that, I was like, well, okay.
But actually it wasn't that bad at all.
I went to Hawaii right after.
It was like the shows were in Hawaii.
You took me to Hawaii?
No, that's where the tour was.
Oh.
Like, amazing.
I love Hawaii.
And the shows turned out great.
I mean, I gained a lot of fans off of it.
Yeah.
So I'm always grateful for that opportunity.
One of my people wouldn't stick with you.
You're a hot chick.
Thanks.
I mean.
Like you're prettier than Selena.
But everybody's young.
Oh my gosh.
To me.
You know, you're young.
He was young.
Yeah, we were really young.
That's the thing.
We were really, really young.
He was 15, I was 16.
I don't even think it counts.
What is Selena?
She's Mexican, right?
Mm-hmm.
I think so.
Is there like a beef
between Filipinos and Mexicans?
No, I mean,
considering I'm both,
I don't think so.
She's also Mexican.
Okay. I'm pretty sure my parents weren, I don't think so. She's also Mexican. Okay.
I'm pretty sure my parents weren't tripping off of that.
Got you.
But now your first single is with Kendrick Lamar.
Yes.
That's me right there.
And I remember you actually gave it to us last time we saw you.
Super early.
Super early.
Yeah, it was super early.
And then now you're on tour with Fifth Harmony also.
Yes.
So it has to feel good.
Everything's happening quickly.
Your EP came out and it was in the top 10
in the iTunes chart.
So it feels like
some progress happening
from when you were signed
to Damon Dash.
How old were you
when you were signed
to Damon Dash?
I was 12.
12.
You were signed
to Damon Dash?
Where were you?
Were you at the last?
I thought she said
her and Boogie was cool
and they used to bake
cookies together.
I didn't even think about it.
She didn't say nothing
about those damn cookies.
Were you with me
at the last interview
when I was here the first time with blonde hair and you were making fun of my Timbs and everything? I forget everything. So know what you were saying about those damn cookies were you with me at the last were you here at the last interview when I was here
the first time
with blonde hair
and you were making
fun of my Timbs
and everything
I forget everything
so listen
you assigned him
to Manny Pacquiao
and Damon Dash
yeah well I was
assigned to Damon Dash
when I was 12
that's how I know Boogie
okay
he was like the
you know
like the only
kid that was my age
that we were around
and we lost contact
and we got
much older
and I ended up seeing
this like kind of
my first time seeing him
in like a few years
did Damon Dash
yell and scream back then too a lot no no i wasn't always around back then like when
he was doing all that kind of stuff because you know i was so young so everything was always like
yeah good for me yeah he made sure dame actually made sure everything was like
good for me back then i was young because i was so little so he's made sure everything was like fun
be in the studio for like two weeks in new y and everything. But then I was signed to Manny
when I was like 15, 16.
Then Sony Epic
and then to Interscope.
It's been a long journey.
It's been a long journey.
Yeah,
it's been a good 10 years.
So you were signed
like paperwork to Dame?
So he had him and Manny
had to do a deal
in order for...
Oh no,
I was out of the deal
with Dame before Manny.
Got you.
Yeah.
Okay.
Because I was so...
We appreciate you joining us.
What's next, Jasmine?
No, thanks, man.
What tour do you like better,
the Fifth Harmony or the Bieber tour?
Which one was more fun?
You know what's crazy is
they're both different in ways.
You know, the Bieber tour,
I was like the only girl.
So that was a lot of fun.
It was Sean Kingston.
It was like Mindless Behavior.
So that was cool.
I had a lot of fun.
And then the Fifth Harmony tour,
the girls are so sweet.
Like, they're all...
Like, you know,
you can't really say anything bad about people
who are just genuinely nice and you know they're genuinely
nice. So it's been great backstage.
I don't know which one I like better.
Do y'all all get y'all periods
at the same time? Shut up.
Me and my dancer did.
So you're not in sync with Fifth Harmony like that?
No, not yet.
Gotcha.
You're a nasty son of a gun.
Why is that nasty? Do you not get a period, Jasmine?. Gotcha. Yeah. You're a nasty son of a gun. That's a regular question. Why is that nasty?
Do you not get a period, Jasmine?
What?
Of course.
Of course.
She gets a period if she gets a good period.
That's my way of finding out how close her and Fifth Harmony are.
Because if y'all get your period at the same time, y'all close.
No, it just means if you're around somebody, it doesn't have to mean that you're good friends.
If you happen to be with them, like I could be.
Like me and you got our period at the same time because I see you every day.
I've never bled before.
Yeah, I am. She don't believe you every day. I've never bled before. Yeah, I...
She don't believe you.
I haven't.
We definitely bled
from that butt before.
So, what works for you
because...
That is so rude.
Why would he say that?
Jasmine B.,
what kind of guy
are you looking for now?
Because you are single,
you're traveling a lot.
Neve, catfish baby!
We just tried to...
Well, he just tried
to hook you up with Neve,
but what do you like?
Just so everybody
out there knows.
At this very moment, I'm not looking for any guy.
A girl?
No girl.
Oh.
Just asking.
But I was kind of, I mean, I was in a relationship for like over a year and stuff, and I dated
a little after that.
Were they older than you?
The guy I dated last?
Yeah.
No.
Okay.
He was a little younger than me, but I just feel like now I should just.
Younger than you?
You pedophile?
No, of course not.
Not like that young.
Okay.
But I feel like I need to focus on myself and try to work on my music and really try
to find myself in that way.
But as in a type of guy, I mean, as long as he's taller than me, he's passionate about
whatever he's doing.
That's all that kind of really matters.
Right.
Is it annoying to you to have people compare you to other, like, female, you know, pop stars that are out right now?
Like, I see people being like, oh, she reminds me of Tinashe.
She reminds me of...
Does that bother you?
Like, I'm nothing like that.
Why do people always have to compare?
You know, it doesn't bother me at all because I look at people like Tinashe and like all the people they, you know, compare me to and they're talented girls.
They're beautiful, talented girls.
So if I can be, you know, compared to anybody, I'd want to be compared to people that are, you know, really good at what they do.
You've also said Alicia Keys is like your main inspiration.
Yeah.
That you would love to do a project with.
Have you ever met her?
I've never met Alicia Keys ever in my life.
I want to, though.
So if any of you guys ever do like, you know. But Alicia Keys, she's married. I want to, though. So if any of you guys ever do, like, you know.
Let me hook you up
with Alicia Keys.
She's married, Jasmine.
Shut up.
She's inside of you.
It doesn't matter.
There you go, Jasmine.
It doesn't matter.
There you go, Jasmine.
Might have to fight
somebody in this room for her.
Are you in love
with Alicia Keys?
You're in love
with Alicia Keys?
She loves her.
She's looking at me like that.
She loves Alicia Keys.
Yes.
I love her.
Baby is beautiful. Her son. Don't talk about her, kids. He's so handsome. Well, no, but seriously, She loves Alicia Keys I love her baby It's beautiful
Her son
Don't talk about her kids
He's so handsome
Well no but
Seriously
Great to see you
In only a few short months
A lot has happened for you
So it seems like
You're on the right path
Do you feel the trajectory?
No definitely
I just put out a song
With Problem and Jeremiah
Called One Night
So I'm really excited
About that
And my fans are liking it.
So I put it out as a, you know,
like a song for people to get used to.
It's different from That's Me right there.
You know Jeremiah's not going to show up to no shows.
I don't know.
That's a problem.
He's not going to show up to no shows.
He'll do the video.
I mean, we're planning on doing a video.
But he wrote the song.
And he's on it.
And you say you always work and collaborate when you do the songs, right?
Because you want to make sure.
So were you writing with him in the studio, or how did that happen?
Well, when we got in the studio, it's before he put out Don't Tell Him,
and he played it for us before it came out.
And I heard the song, and I was like, that's going to be huge.
I was like, I want a song like that, but for me.
He didn't even do a video for that song.
He didn't.
He didn't do a video for that, right? Yes, he didn't even do a video for that song. He didn't? He didn't do a video for that, right?
Yes, he did.
Are you sure?
Mm-hmm.
An email just came in.
It says, when are Jasmine V's nudes going to leak?
They did not say that.
Yes, they did.
Stop trying to hide it.
You know he's lying.
Unless you didn't know the song, right?
No.
Oh, okay.
He asked.
They asked on the line.
I don't leak anytime soon. You sent out nudes? No, hell no. No, no, no, no, no. I'm just kidding. I, okay. He asked on the line. I don't leak anytime soon.
You sent out nudes?
No, hell no.
No, no, no, no, no.
I'm just kidding.
I never have.
She said no time soon.
Yeah, no, definitely not.
All right.
Well, we appreciate you joining us.
Jasmine V.
Thanks for having me.
Jasmine V.
I know you're busy.
Good luck on the rest of your tour.
Thank you.
