Had enough of this country?
Ever dreamt about starting your own?
I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete.
Or maybe not.
No country willingly gives up their territory.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.

their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together.

The Breakfast Club.
Made for everybody.
Good morning, USA!
Hey, fam! Happy Monday!
It's Monday!
Back to the work week!
We are in here.
How you feeling, Yeezy?
How was your weekend?
It was good.
You know, it was pretty quiet for me this weekend for once.
We did HIV testing at Juices for Life.
Okay.
And so I was there Saturday for a few hours holding that down.
Shout out to everybody who came out.
Trav and Blind Beauty came and they were actually working.
I seen them.
Yeah, they were outside handing out flyers.
That's dope.
And making sure people came in to get tested.
But we tested people for HIV because you have to know your status.
Also, their blood pressure and hepatitis.
Okay.
So shout out to David Johns.
And, you know, we do that frequently, about two times a year.
So it's always very effective.
That's right.
Well, this weekend I purchased a new home, so I'm in the process of moving.
So me and my wife were talking.
I was like, look, babe, if we haven't used it in a year, it needs to either go in the
garbage or we need to give it away.
Like, like enough's enough.
My wife is a hoarder.
She likes to hoard things.
She likes to keep things.
And I'm like, come on, this is like, we were going through the basement and we found so
many things like sneakers and clothes.
I'm like, babe, like, what do you, babe, what do we need this stuff for?
She's like, just in case.
I said, just in case what?
What are we just in cases?
So we gave away a lot of clothes.
I had to get a big dumpster and throw a lot of stuff in the dumpster.
We're just getting rid of a lot of stuff that we necessarily didn't need.
Man, that's hard when you've been living there as long as you have
and you don't even realize all the stuff you have.
I've been in that home, I think, like, it had to be like 14 years.
Yeah, that's a lot of stuff that you.
I mean, it was so much.
Like, I found, I had 92 starter jackets.
Oh, my gosh.
92 starter jackets.
A lot of them were too big.
Uh-oh, Dramos is pissed.
What you do with them? Why you didn't give Dramos any? A lot of them were too big. Uh-oh, Dramos is pissed. What you do with them?
Why you didn't give Dramos any?
A lot of them were too big.
That was back in the time when I used to buy the extra, extra size 56 jackets.
That's how he dresses now.
Nah, he don't dress like that.
So they were super big.
So I had to find a lot of my big friends and give it to a lot of my big homies to wear.
Like literally big homies. I found, yeah.
I found, I had 106 jerseys.
Like back in the day when I used to wear the jerseys all the time.
Like, it's nothing I could do with them.
So I gave a lot of that away.
So I gave mostly a lot of things.
I thought about opening up the house like Chris Brown did
and just let people come and take whatever they wanted to take.
My wife did that immediately.
She was like, with the coronavirus going around,
you want people walking around this house?
I was like, all right, babe, you're right.
You are right. All right, so that was my weekend. What was like, with the coronavirus going around you, with people walking around this house, I was like, all right, babe, you're right. You are right.
All right, so that was my weekend.
What do you think about the coronavirus?
How's it affecting you?
What do I think about it?
How's it affecting you?
Anyway, so far, how's...
I've just been late.
Like, look, I thought about going to the movies this weekend,
changed my mind.
I said, you know what?
I'm going to just chill out in the house.
My brother, though, he sends updates
on what's happening like every half an hour.
Goodness gracious.
I don't know what's going on.
He hasn't left the house.
So I think, you know, and then New York is getting pretty bad.
Yeah, but it seems like it's coming from the same, I guess, I want to say the same person.
What do you mean?
It seems like the majority of it came from that one person that I guess he was at a synagogue
and a lot of the people from the synagogue got it.
Is that right?
Listen, I'm not playing around.
That's all. Okay. So if I don't have Is that right? Listen, I'm not playing around. That's all.
Okay.
So if I don't have to go anywhere right now, I'm not going anywhere.
Well, I'm definitely listening.
If I hear any cases at any schools in New Jersey,
I'm pulling my kids immediately.
We'll just learn from home.
Yeah.
They're closing schools down and everything right now.
There's one school out here that's closed for the rest of the school year.
Yeah, South by Southwest, they canceled.
They canceled a whole lot of events.
I know.
I know.
Coachella might get canceled.
Yeah, and I'm telling people out there, if you have a savings, just hold on to it for a little bit.
Because you just never know.
Because I know a lot of artists, a lot of people, they cancel events.
They cancel festivals.
It's going to be hard for people to make money.
It's going to be hard for camera crews, people that work behind the scenes, not just the artists, tickets, scalpers, everybody that has to do with festivals.
I don't know if I feel bad for scalpers.
I feel bad for everybody.
But, you know, what it is is even at South by Southwest, there's a lot of people that own businesses.
Yes.
And restaurants.
Hotels.
And they really rely on the business from South by Southwest.
And there's businesses that are even closing just because of lack of customers. They rely on the business from South by Southwest.
And there's businesses that are even closing just because of lack of customers.
Yeah, absolutely.
All right.
Well, Lil Baby will be joining us this morning.
Yes, Lil Baby.
He had some drama over the weekend.
Well, not him personally, but at a show.
Oh, really?
Okay, so we'll kick it with Lil Baby.
And then we got front page news.
What are we talking about? I guess we'll start off.
We've already been talking about coronavirus,
but we'll give you guys some updates.
Plus, we'll talk about our beloved Brooklyn Nets.
All right, we'll get into that next.
Keep it locked.
This is The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
DJ, MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Let's get in some front page news.
What are we talking, Yee?
Well, let's start with coronavirus updates right now.
They have declared a state of emergency in New York, FYI, as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has been increasing.
We have over 100 cases in New York right now, 106 cases.
And right now in the United States, there's more than 565 people who have contracted coronavirus.
And mind you, some people have it, don't know they have it.
It can pass through. It's a
14-day incubation period.
So if you are going to quarantine,
it is for 14 days
that they expect you to do that.
And they said as of Friday,
they've instructed about 4,000 people
in the state to self-quarantine.
Very scary. Very, very scary.
They said an Uber driver in Queens,
New York, got it, which is scary because, you know, so many people just jump in an Uber ride.
You don't know who's been in that Uber ride before you.
If somebody has disease that was in there before you, if it's been cleaned like that's scary.
Right. And there's a lot of things right now that are being canceled across the world.
They said nearly 16 million people are under lockdown in Italy right now.
Just FYI. So if you're going to northern Italy, you can expect that's not going to actually happen for you.
In addition to that, they're saying in the NBA, they have sent memos to different teams
indicating that you should prepare to possibly play games in empty arenas.
Now, LeBron has said he's not going to play if that's the case.
I ain't playing.
I ain't got the fans in the crowd.
That's what I play for.
If I show up to an arena and there ain't no fans in there, I ain't playing.
Yeah, I mean, you got to play regardless.
People are watching from home.
Yeah, people are going to watch you from home.
If they don't want fans to come to the arena because they're scared of the virus spreading,
you still got to play contractually.
I don't think in anybody's contract it says if there's 10% of the fan base here,
you can't play.
I don't think that's possible.
But then again, LeBron is he's filthy rich.
I guess I'm sure he can do what he wants to do.
Well, the league has also sent out a separate memo to teams saying that
they're each required to have several contingency plans in place by tomorrow.
So that includes an arrangement with an infected disease specialist
and facilities to test for coronavirus,
limit the number of teams and arena staff members
that would interact with players, so on and so forth.
They actually put out a statement to let you know that Steph Curry has the flu.
And it's not at risk for coronavirus because he's sick immediately.
That's the first thing that people are thinking about.
Now, speaking of the NBA, let's talk about our Brooklyn Nets.
They have parted ways with their coach for the last four seasons, Kenny Atkinson.
And so now we're trying to figure out who they're going to bring in next.
Yeah.
Did you see Jay-Z at the game?
Jay-Z was at the game last night.
At the Lakers game.
Yeah, at the Lakers game last night.
And I guess a fan tried to take a picture with him and put his arm around Jay.
And Jay was like, nah.
Get that dirt off my shoulder.
Don't put your arm around me.
Get that arm away from me. Oh, my goodness. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. All right. Well, that's off my shoulder. Don't put your arm around me. Get that arm away from me.
Oh, my goodness.
Don't touch me.
Don't touch me.
All right.
Well, that's front page news.
Get it off your chest.

Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Is your country falling apart?
Feeling tired?
Depressed?
A little bit revolutionary?
Consider this.
Start your own country.
I planted the flag.
I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it.
I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
I am the Queen of Ladonia.
I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg.
I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Why can't I trade my own country?
My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong?
No country willingly gives up their territory.
I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God.
What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help. We still have the off-road portion to go.
Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast.

As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions,
but you just don't know what is going to come for you.
Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt,
learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams.
I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves.
For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step.
And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.
This increment of small, determined moments.
Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love.
I forgive myself.
It's okay.
Like grace.
Have grace with yourself.
You're trying your best.
And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.
Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before.
Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app,

This is your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or blessed.
You better have the same energy.
We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club.
Hello, who's this?
Yo, what up, Money?
Money, what up, man? Get it off your chest, Yo, what up, Money? Money, what up, man? Get off your chest.
What up, Money?
Oh, good morning to y'all.
Yeah, about that coronavirus.
They had a rumor about like 2018 and 19,
the back of the lifestyle,
that say like it won't, you know,
help people, you know,
like disinfect the human coronavirus.
So it's like if they labeled it before they made it public information, you know, like, disinfect the human coronavirus. So it's like, if they labeled it before they made it public information,
you know, it sucks.
And then, you know, like they say, they're charging people for vaccines
and coronavirus kits.
And it's like, the CDC got more answers and more information
than they tell the public.
So, you know, if they came out with the virus,
they should come out, you know, tell the public. So, you know, if they came out with the virus, they should come out, you know, with
the vaccine. But it seems
like now that there's, you know, politics
and money involved, yeah,
it sucks. You know, I guess
this is the issue we need to push about Medi-Cal,
you know? Okay.
I have no idea what you're talking about, but all right, bro.
Hello, who's this? Hey, this
is Chandler from Columbus, Ohio.
How y'all doing? Chandler, what's up, man?
Get it off your chest.
Whew, man.
Just had another baby.
Congratulations, brother.
Appreciate it.
Yeah, I just started all the way over.
I got an 11-year-old, a 6-year-old,
and my daughter was born six weeks early.
You know, so happy I started over and everything.
But, man, sometimes I just be like
how does Envy do it
cause
I don't get
no sleep
so like
this ain't
no joke
I give you a big shout out
cause this is tough
bro
you sound tired right now
nah man
that's the best part of it
man
I mean if you love your kids
I mean I love getting up
with the kids
I mean you get tired
sometimes
but it's no better feeling.
Yeah, I probably have four hours of sleep in a week, bro.
You be all right.
Shout out.
Make sure your kids is good.
Yeah, I'm exhausted.
Kiss them babies, bro.
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, sure, yeah.
Hello, who's this?
Yo, good morning, Envy.
Good morning, Angela.
Morning.
It's Rick.
Rick from Brooklyn.
Rick from Brooklyn.
What up?
Get it off your chest.
Yo, what's going on, man?
Yo, so I was calling because the underlying effects of the coronavirus, like the stock
market, like today the stock market is going to take a big hit.
It's been taking a big hit for the last two weeks.
Right.
And like I was in the supermarket yesterday and people are really like, you know, scampering
for that water and hand sanitizer.
I was in BC.
Toilet paper. were really like you know scampering for that water and hand sanitizer i was in bc you only could get like yeah you could only get two chlorox packets per card and stuff like that so it's a lot
of things that's going on behind the scenes i suggest anybody that's you know in the city right
now start stacking up on like you know canned goods and water and stuff like that because you
never know how this to escalate think about if one person is in the room how many people could
be in the room could be affected correct you can't really tell how fast it's going could escalate. Think about if one person is in a room, how many people could be in a room could be affected.
Correct.
You can't really tell
how fast it's going to escalate
so people should, you know,
not really take it lightly
and like,
care a little bit.
You know what I'm saying?
No, you're right.
Our camera guy in here
thinks it's no big deal
from Revolt.
Nah, for real.
If you think about movies
like Contagion
and stuff like that,
stuff like that
spreads really fast.
And I mean,
it's really depressing
when you think about it. Envy. Yes, sir. One question. On a lighter. And I mean, it's really depressing to think about it.
Envy.
Yes, sir.
One question.
On a lighter note.
I mean, I don't want to get all depressed on a Monday.
What size sneakers do you wear?
Uh-oh.
What, you getting me a gift?
No, you gave away all that stuff.
He wants some sneakers.
You're giving away all that stuff for your crib.
I definitely didn't say I was giving away no sneakers,
but I'm a size 10, sir.
Uh-oh.
All right.
Forget it.
Pull up.
Definitely don't pull up. Get it off your chest. 800-585. I thought a size 10, sir. Uh-oh. Pull up. Definitely don't pull up.
Get it off your chest.
800-585.
I thought I hung up on you.
800-585-1051.
If you need to vent, hit us up now.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Wake up, wake up.
Wake your ass up.
This is your time to get it off your chest.
Whether you're mad or blessed, we want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club.
Hello, who's this?
Hey, this is Karina.
I'm calling my mom, Carlotta.
Carlotta and me.
Good morning.
A.K.A. Topaz.
She has a podcast of her own called Jewels, Diamonds, and the Rough.
I was actually calling because my mother got the flu.
I'm about to take her to the emergency room.
I just got off of work and everything.
She says that the coronavirus is just the flu.
So I think that maybe she should tell y'all what she heard about it.
Hey, Mom.
What did she hear about this?
Hey, Mama, good morning.
Where you from, first of all?
I'm from Queens, New York, but I live in Pennsylvania.
Okay, you live in Pennsylvania.
Hey, Carlotta.
Hi, how are you?
Good, how are you?
I'm good, thank you.
My voice is a little messed up.
I've been doing my research, and my daughter and I, my other daughter,
found out that 98% of the people that get the virus survive. The media is just hyping up the deaths because they're not telling who's dying.
Young people are not dying.
Middle-aged people are not dying.
Older people in their elderly years are dying.
That's a fact.
That have been sick.
So that's the reason why you're hearing all these things and seeing all the red all over the United States, because they just want to hype it up.
It's causing a mass hysteria.
You know, people are running to the store.
They're buying rubbing alcohol.
They're buying Lysol, all kinds of things to try to, you know, keep themselves, you know, from getting the virus.
But the only way that you can
get the virus, it has to be put...
You have to put it into your body.
What?
What do you mean you have to put it in your body?
So, I'm going to explain.
So, say someone that has the virus cough
and it hits your lip.
And you take your hand
and you wipe your mouth.
Of course, yep.
Or you lick your lips.
You're taking in the virus.
But you can stop the virus from going where it's supposed to go.
It's supposed to go to your lungs and cause...
I heard that hot water.
Yeah, they said drink lots of fluids.
I've been reading all this.
A friend sent me with my phone.
I'll tell you about it.
Hold on, hold on
I'm getting sick listening to this call
Whatever she got just came in me
Because she stayed on this call too long
Telling us the basics of the coronavirus
Absolutely
We know this
Hello, who's this?
Hi, this is Joy
Hey, Joy
Good morning
How are you?
Get it off your chest
How are you guys?
Hey, Joy
Hi
I just want to say that I am so blessed because, you know, I have a child that's in high school,
and he had a situation where an assistant principal, who's of the opposite race, tried to provoke him to act out of character.
He pulled him off of the bus outside of the view of the camera, and started pointing his fingers, yelling in my son's face,
trying to make an example out of him.
Likely one of the kids on the bus recorded it.
He didn't give him the reaction that he was looking for, and he called me.
And when he called me, you know, I could hear this guy yelling and screaming,
you know, in the background.
And my son did not let this man provoke him.
He didn't give him what he wanted
because he knew what this man was trying to do.
And I'm so blessed that my son has listened to me
for the past, I can't even explain, I don't know,
probably five or six years now that I've explained to him
that you're black.
Right.
You have to know how to respond in these type of situations
or it could turn out really bad for you.
He said, not today.
Say it, not today.
Oh, listen, when I tell you I almost pulled up through the school
trying to get there, I almost pulled up through the school
so that I could handle the situation the correct way.
Well, you must be so proud of him.
Oh, my God.
I cried.
I literally did.
I cried in the car because I was like, they tried to trick you.
And you didn't let them.
And I was like, and I'm so proud of you.
On the video, my son even had his hand down by his side and didn't move at all.
There you go.
He called me as soon as he could.
He was just like, Mom.
And he started telling me what was going on.
I could hear the teacher just, or the assistant principal
screaming at him in the background.
And I was like, don't even talk.
I was like, I'm on my way. There you go.
Don't talk. I'm on my way.
Shouldn't talk to that kid like that.
Is the father there?
Because the father might owe that man five minutes.
Listen, when I called him
and told him, I actually had like a meeting
and everything with the principal who dismissed his actions.
And then I just, I'm still going.
I'm not going to stop.
You shouldn't stop.
I'm not going to stop.
I've gone and taken it to the next level.
I'm not stopping.
There you go, mama.
You shouldn't allow someone that's in charge of children to feel like he can target someone that he feels like is an easy target.
There you go.
Because, you know,
he wants to show his power and puff out his chest. You picked on the wrong
child with the right one. Wrong one. There you go.
Get it off your chest.
800-585-1051.
Now, we got rumors on the way, Yee? Yes, and
fans are concerned about Post Malone.
That's just some footage of him performing.
Actually, Hit The Web will tell you how
he responded to their concerns. Alright, we'll
get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
This is The Rumor Report
with Angela Yee.
Rumor has it.
On The Breakfast Club.
So listen up.
Well, Justin Bieber has had to
scale down his tour. He's going on tour
for his album, and that tour
was announced on Christmas Eve.
It's his first tour in three years
for his album, Changes.
But unfortunately, he has had to
downsize some of the stadiums
he was planning to do. They posted
due to unforeseen circumstances, the
Justin Bieber concert is being relocated.
If you have purchased tickets already, you will receive an email from Ticketmaster with your new tickets.
The problem is unforeseen circumstances, which is coronavirus.
What they are saying now is that some of the soft markets where tickets went on sale just days before that coronavirus outbreak, the ticket sales was a concern.
People weren't buying tickets, scared to go out.
Yeah, some people have had to cancel shows, especially overseas right now.
We already told you South by Southwest is canceled.
They are now trying to figure out what's going to happen with Coachella.
So if you are planning to go to any shows, just make sure you check before you go.
Now, speaking of performances, Post Malone had fans worried.
He was on stage, and I'm sure you all saw this video of him stumbling around.
He was on the ground rolling his eyes, acting weird.
It looked like he was definitely out of it.
And people were concerned that perhaps he was on drugs.
Well, here's what he had to say while he was about to perform in L.A. on Friday.
I'm not on drugs, and I feel the best I've ever felt in my whole life.
And that's why I can bust my ass for these shows and f***ing fall on the floor and do all that fun s***.
But for anybody that's concerned here, I appreciate the love and the support.
But I feel f***ing fantastic and I'm not going to.
Since when do the artists on stage acting a fool cause people to have some type of concern?
That's what artists used to do.
Roll around on the floor, act like they're having seizures,
roll their eyes in the back of their head.
That was all part of the act.
He would look like he was drunk.
I wouldn't say he on drugs.
That's all part of the act.
Ozzy Osbourne bit a bat.
Bit a bat's head off.
Nobody ever said, hey, Ozzy's on drugs.
Well, maybe they did.
Well, yes, he definitely did.
They definitely said he was on drugs.
Maybe they did.
Yeah, definitely was an issue when it happened.
Not like that, though.
To still be talking about it today, the fact that we all know about that.
You bit a bat's head off.
Right, so why would you act like that was okay?
That was.
It was part of the whole rock and roll aesthetic.
Rock and roll artists used to go crazy.
People thought it was fake.
Yeah.
Oh, people thought it was fake.
When they threw it on the stage.
He thought the bat was fake.
Oh, he thought it was fake, yeah.
But I'm saying it was all part of the act.
Let's act as crazy as possible.
I know, but I think people are concerned just because we see a lot going on
and we're losing a lot of our artists at young ages
and a lot of it is dealing with drugs.
So, you know, they probably just voiced their concern and he responded.
All right, Harvey Weinstein.
Let's talk about him at Rikers Island right now.
And they're saying that he's been staying there on the sixth floor of the main building and apparently he does have at least one cellmate at Rikers Island right now. And they're saying that he's been staying there on the sixth floor of the main building.
And apparently he does have at least
one cellmate at Rikers Island.
But unfortunately for him,
he's been injured already.
Unfortunately for him. Injured, what you mean?
I guess they said he fell.
So I don't know what really happened, but
I guess he fell and hit his head
or something like that. I wonder if his cellmate is
pitching a movie like this. You would, right?
If you was in jail with Harvey Weinstein?
Yes, you would. Pitching for what?
Why not? You don't know that this guy's
career is over. You've been here for a while.
He's going to be there for a long time. Maybe, maybe not.
You don't know. And you don't know what type of plugs
he still got out there. He might have a plug.
That's what I'm saying. He might have a plug.
Yeah, so I don't know.
But they're saying that he might have at least two cellmates, according to another source, right now.
My God, two people pitching him ideas for movies.
Jesus.
All right, and speaking of people in jail, R. Kelly.
They said he might have some more charges coming.
They have seized over 100 electronic devices.
So we don't know what's on those devices as of yet.
But the government does plan to file some more new charges in the coming weeks.
They said they are not elaborating,
but they are not going to tell you what's on those devices,
but there's some hard drives, all of those things.
So there was a search warrant.
There was a storage facility outside Chicago where he keeps some of his equipment.
Now, according to R. Kelly's defense attorney, Steve Greenberg, he says,
we expect that they're not going to find anything incriminating.
But who knows what's on those hard drives and on those tapes.
So R. Kelly was in court getting ready for that.
All right. And now let's talk about this memoir that Woody Allen was supposed to have out.
So he had a memoir that was scheduled to be published early next month.
And then his son, Ronan Farrow, made a public issue of it.
And that led to some workers protesting,
and now they have canceled the book.
So Woody Allen was accused of molesting his adopted daughter, Dylan,
in the middle of his custody and child support battle with Mia Farrow.
And after the allegations, she did increase the amount of money she was asking for from Woody Allen.
They never did conclusively come to whether or not anything had happened.
They said there was inappropriate
but not sexual behavior with Woody Allen.
And so it never was determined
any evidence of the accusations being true, right?
They said there was inappropriate behavior
but it wasn't anything that was sexual.
So now they have canceled that book.
Now Stephen King is weighing in.
He said the Hatchet decision to drop the Woody Allen book
makes me very uneasy. It's not
him. I don't give a damn about Mr. Allen.
It's who gets muzzled next that worries
me. He said if you think he's a pedophile
don't buy the book. Don't go to his movies.
Don't go listen to him play jazz at the
Carlisle. Vote with your wallet by withholding
it. In America that's how we do.
You're like 20 years, 30 years too late on that, right?
What?
Not supporting Woody Allen.
Woody Allen has been supported, nominated for awards.
That's a little late for that PSA.
But what he's saying is as an individual, if you don't like him, then just don't support him.
But that's what I mean.
It's a little late for that PSA.
Woody's been out here prospering for a long time.
Right. And his point is, from what Stephen King is trying to say, is that they shouldn't have canceled it because he wasn't found guilty of anything.
So, I don't know.
And if you personally feel like he's a pedophile, then don't buy the book and don't support.
All right.
I'm Angela Yee, and that is your rumor report.
All right.
Thank you, Miss Yee.
Now, when we come back, front page news, what are we talking about?
Yes, more endorsements for Joe Biden. All right. We'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good you, Miss Yee. Now, when we come back, front page news, what we talking about? Yes. More endorsements for Joe Biden.
All right. We'll get into that next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club.
Let's get some front page news.
Where we start with Yee?
Well, let's start with endorsements. Kamala Harris has now endorsed Joe Biden. Listen to this. I have decided that I am with great enthusiasm going to endorse Joe Biden for president of the United States.
I really believe in him and I have known him for a long time.
One of the things that we need right now is we need a leader who really does care about the people and who can therefore unify the people.
And I believe Joe can do that.
I believe that he is a man who has lived his life with great dignity.
He is a public servant who has always worked for the best of who we are as a nation.
That's what Joe Biden needs to make his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris.
OK, I can't even take Joe Biden serious until he has a black agenda and he announces a black
woman, preferably Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate.
Now Jesse Jackson has endorsed Bernie Sanders.
I stand with Bernie Sanders today
because he stood with me.
I stand with him because he's never lost his
taste for justice for the people.
I stand with him because he stands with you.
Interesting.
Bernie endorsed Jesse Jackson back in the day, though, and Jesse ran for president.
Yeah, so, makes sense.
All right, now let's talk about the Crown Act, and that is an act that would ban natural hair discrimination.
So now there are five states that are banning natural hair discrimination.
So that is New York, New Jersey, California, Virginia became the fourth state and the first southern state to ban hair-based discrimination, followed by then Colorado became the fifth state. Now, some lawmakers who oppose that bill, and I would think this would
be completely like you can't discriminate against somebody based on their hair, which is shocking
that we even have to have a law like this. But some lawmakers who oppose the bill said they felt that that protection was necessary
and business owners should have the authority to dictate dress codes at places.
What did that mean exactly though?
So for instance, if you want to have braids, if you want to have dreads,
if you want to have your natural hair, people cannot discriminate you based on that
and fire you or target you based on what hairstyle you have
and call it unprofessional.
You know how they try to act like certain things are unprofessional
in the workplace?
And they might even have, you know, they might have something against like,
okay, no dreadlocks, no braids, no cornrows, something like that,
natural hairstyles.
I thought they'd been had that, that they couldn't discriminate
because of hair.
Absolutely not.
That is crazy.
Yeah, so.
By the way, there's nothing more professional than having
some nice, neat dreadlocks
or some nice, neat cornrows. You know how much
work and time and effort goes into
getting your hair in that way?
Come on, man. Makes life easier, too,
when you can just get up and go, right? What about if your hair
stank, though?
I'm just saying, if somebody comes
in and they just... That's a hygiene issue.
Your scalp just stank. That's a hygiene issue. Can you send them home? Can I discriminate against saying, if somebody comes in and they're just... If you stink, period. That's a hygiene issue. The scalp just stinks. Yeah, that's a hygiene issue.
You got to go watch that.
Can you send them home?
Can I discriminate against you then?
If it's bothering other people because they can't breathe, then I would think yes.
Listen, somebody would definitely sue a company.
They sent me home because my hair was stink.
It's my right to have stink hair.
Well, you know, somebody got...
It's not against the law, right?
Somebody got kicked off a plane because they stink.
Yeah.
Really?
Yes.
It was like the person next to me stinks, so they called the stewardess,
and they kicked him off the plane.
And it doesn't matter what type of hair you have.
You can still have stink hair.
It has nothing to do with if you have dreads,
if you have braids.
I didn't say that.
No, I'm just saying that's the whole thing.
That's not discriminating against your hair,
but smell, yes.
And I want to encourage people,
when you go to the gym,
when you do hot yoga,
please shower first.
It's really rude when you come to the gym all stink like we can't smell that.
Is it against the law, though?
If I want to be stink, can I be stink?
No, you can't be stink.
Who says?
You coming in stink.
Show me the sign where it says no stinking allowed.
Show me what that's in the manual book that I can't smell.
No stinking allowed.
It probably is proper hygiene.
Show me.
I need to see.
You can't come here without brushing your teeth or with a deep cavity that you haven't had treated.
What if I got a root canal and I can't afford a dentist?
Oh, you need a root canal.
I need a root canal.
It sounds like you got to save up for that.
It's not like you discriminate against people with root canals.
That is your front page.
I mean, people's staying breath isn't as bad.
You can just avoid talking to them.
Right?
You can just say text me, email me.
All right.
We'll discuss it that way.
All right.
Well, when we come back, Lil Baby will be joining us.
We'll kick it with Lil Baby.
His album is out right now.
So don't move.
It's about to start.
This is one of the times where I do wish the radio had subtitles.
I understand, baby.
Oh.
Because I'm from the South, but, you know, some of y'all might have some difficulty.
Lil Baby, baby. We'll talk to him when we come back you know, some of y'all might have some difficulty. Little baby, baby.
We'll talk to him when we come back at the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Morning, everybody. It's DJ MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne
the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. We got a special
guest in the building. That's right. He got the number one album
in the country, god damn it. That's right, little baby.
Yo, yo, yo. What's happening, my brother?
Welcome back. Congratulations, too.
Appreciate that. Appreciate that. How you feeling, man?
I feel good. I feel good.
Are you excited or you just, I want you to be like, man, I'm excited.
The last couple of days, I've been kind of excited.
Yeah, I saw you say that you don't care about numbers, but I think it's a different ballgame
when you do 200.
When you do 200 for a week, you got to care about numbers a little bit.
Yeah, that's what they've been saying the last couple of days, but before then, I went, you know what I be saying. That's what they been saying the last couple days.
But before then, I went, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Stunned 200 or nothing, so I ain't into it.
Now, you put out a 20-song project.
What made you want to give people all that music, man?
That's two albums nowadays.
Right.
But I ain't put out music in a long time.
And when I first dropped, I put out a lot of music.
Like, me say, me say, me say.
So I just, like, I'm going to put 20 songs.
But at first, I was going to put, like, 15 songs.
And then three other songs was already out.
So I'm, like, 17 songs.
It don't feel like you ain't put music out.
And see, with the amount of music you got on the radio,
with the amount of music you got in the clubs,
it don't feel like we were missing Lil Baby, though.
It ain't feel like we was, like, missing Lil Baby
because I ain't feel like I missed the beat.
But it was like a whole new Lil Baby to me. Like, that wasn't out yet. What's was missing Lil Baby because I didn't feel like I missed the beat, but it was like a whole new Lil Baby to me that wasn't out yet.
What's the new Lil Baby?
To me, you got better as a lyricist.
You're actually a dope-ass rapper.
I hit P1 Day, I'm like, man, Lil Baby actually snapping nowadays.
What made you become a good rapper, you think?
From all of that, from actually having people listen to me.
I know I'm on the platform from performing.
You want your fans to rock over a certain way.
You want people to...
Then I'm on a level where I know that people do listen to me or would give me a chance.
Now that I'm on that level, I don't want them to give me a chance and then be like,
he like them or he sound like him or he ain't really, you know, just like, he just rapping.
You also said, I just cut off all my friends and brought my brothers in. Right. So when you did that, right, does that make people be like, oh man, he just rapping. You also said, I just cut off all my friends and brought my brothers in.
Right.
So when you did that, right, does that make people be like, oh man, he went Hollywood.
But my brothers ain't Hollywood, so they know I ain't went Hollywood.
You know what I mean?
And like my brother ain't, it's more so like, it's just me and my brothers are already really first anyway.
So all these like extra little friends and stuff really just came around.
And the only reason they was coming around, because I was coming around. I'm coming
to the hood, so folks know I'm going to be out there.
They pulling up. Now they doing extra s***.
But now it's at a point where I ain't even coming around
to where the person doesn't know where I'm at.
So they come where I'm at.
I think that's what comes with success too. Sometimes you do
have to like trim off all the extra fat.
You got to. There's no way you're going
to win with it.
Now, Hope, baby, you out there with about 10 niggas, man.
Those are brothers.
Where do you trim the fat?
How much? I'm like 50.
I'm like, man.
That's what it was before?
I'm down to like a solid 15.
You're trying to do a solid 15?
Solid 15.
It's just solid five.
And how do you know you can trust each and every one of them?
I don't.
Oh. Do they know that? It's a solid five. And how do you know you can trust each and every one of them? I don't.
Oh.
Do they know that?
You know.
They're wise men.
That's life, though. Who can you trust 100%, really?
Nobody.
You know, I was watching you on your Instagram
and watching how much you work, you know, city to city,
different city, different day, radio interviews.
And then you said that you wanted to slow it down a little bit
because you feel like you don't get to spend enough time with your son.
Right.
So how do you walk that line?
I don't even know, really.
I'm just, like, going with it by the day.
You feel me?
Like, sometimes I think about it, but I got so much going on to the point
it don't slip my mind, but that's one of my only problems.
Like, I got to get my shit together. That's one of my only problems. Like, I gotta get
my s*** together. That's what I be saying, like,
if the only time I talk about, like, getting my s*** together,
that's like,
I gotta get myself to the
point where, even if it ain't slowing down
to the point where I can hire somebody
to go with me and my son can get a tutor,
like, just everything I need to get
in order so it can work for me.
How old is he?
Four.
He can travel with you in a minute.
Yeah.
You were saying with Tudor that you want to make sure his son is educated.
In school, yeah.
Because you said your dad wasn't in your life, so you want to make sure that's not the same option for your son.
Like, that ain't going to be the option, period.
Like, no matter, even if I don't ever get my shit together, I'm going to be in his life.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, that ain't going to be the, but I want to, like, really, like, like raise my son you know what i'm saying like did you ever want a relationship with your father no because i had one to want one you feel i'm saying yeah yeah and like man it was like me
and my son and then he went away like from the get-go i don't remember that so i ain't never
ain't nothing i wanted for does he try to come around now? Is he even alive? Yeah, we kick it. Okay. It's like a mutual thing.
Like, I just told him, like, kick it how we been kicking it,
and I'm going to f*** with you.
You feel me?
Like, don't try to, like, none extra.
Ain't no makeup.
No, I don't got no hard feelings.
It's what it is.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you're my dad.
I love you to death.
Whatever.
Just leave it.
Like, however you been calling, like, call like that.
You feel me?
Don't call me every day.
Don't keep it the same.
So I don't even feel no type of way to even think no way.
You know what I'm saying?
Just rock out like that.
You don't want him to make, like, a lot of extra effort?
Yeah.
Because what if he feels like that now?
Like, he wants to do something.
Right.
I don't want to feel like that.
Because it ain't really needed.
It'll feel wrong to me.
You feel like because I'm a quote-unquote little baby now.
Yeah.
You feel me?
Maybe it could have.
But what if he's not asking you for anything?
He just wants to... But I come
with anything. You get what I'm saying? At this point, you don't
even gotta ask me. Just being with me,
it come with something. You know what I'm saying? Like, at this point.
Would you get him something for Father's Day?
I didn't give him a lot of
s***. Bought him a truck for about a hundred bands.
Like, he don't know
like, luxury
s***, right? but he more on some like
Ideas then I bought him a gang truck one time then I bought him
Track the trailer so he paid people get little so it's like I'm giving him I do stuff for him
But at the same time is really like still better than nothing that like we know it's it just like why I just call him like buying a new car on the scrim just.
We ain't on them terms.
But one day we might get there, though.
You're giving him a business so he can feed himself.
Why would you do s*** for him if he ain't never did nothing for you, though?
Right.
I know your mom don't like that, I'm sure.
Nah, she probably don't even like her vibe.
She ain't on it.
Whatever I do for anybody, she with it.
As long as I'm with it, she with it.
But why do it for him if he didn't do it for you?
Because that's what you're supposed to do.
Like, growing up, what I do for the bros, nobody ain't never did that for me.
Period.
One might have bought me a pair of shoes one time.
So I know the feeling.
And I don't never want my son to be like,
you feel me?
Now with your son, do you find it
difficult? Because now I'm sure he's
not going to grow up nowhere like you did.
But he won't get that street mentality
and be able to look around his shoulders. Does that
bother you at all? But the crazy thing about my
four-year-old son, that's why I
get my shit together because he
already got a street mentality at four years old
because I'm gone, so he go to his cousin's house,
they stay in the hood still.
Like, you with me, I don't really,
I ain't going to say I don't hide nothing from him,
but to the point where he's so educated, like, he knowing.
Then I just say certain stuff I don't let him listen to,
certain stuff I don't stuff on Sarah, right?
But he'd be like his cousin to 15 16 17 and they listen to everything I doing my everything I do
So then he my everything they do so then he saying the same
I say like when I'm trying to like keep it from him, but right at the same time putting it out in the work
So it's like a whole big old thing in my head about being my son. Does that make you want to change your music or change the way you're out and about?
Yeah, yeah.
It'd be like, that shit would be crazy because some shit I don't even want to say
because my son be saying it.
Then he want to rap, so even his freestyles, he's saying what I say.
He freestyles already?
Already.
He calls me in the morning.
He's like, man, I got a new freestyle.
It really rhymes.
Put your words together.
It's crazy to the point where I don't even want to say too much bulls**t.
Is that why you make records like the Catch the Sun joint?
Not literally.
It's more so like some words I say.
I don't want to say murder, kill.
I don't want to try to say Percocet.
I don't really know how to change my whole dialogue just because that's me.
But I try to just say it different.
You just know he listening.
And not only him.
Think about all the influence you have on a bunch of other kids.
Right, and then just my kids.
So once it come to my kids, now it's like everybody's kids.
All right, we got more with Lil Baby when we come back.
Let's get into his joint.
Whoa, it's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are the Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club.
We're still kicking it with Lil Baby Yee.
I see you also went back to your high school and donated $150,000 for scholarships.
That was dope.
Yeah, so for you, right, talk about your experience in high school and with your teachers.
Are there things that you feel like you really learned in high school?
Because, you know, a lot of people be like, oh, this is all the stuff that we're learning in school that later on in life I'm not utilizing.
Man.
I ain't even gonna lie.
I dropped out of high school, though.
10th grade, right?
What grade? 10th grade.
But, like,
you know, you don't, like, never leave out
9th grade home.
So you went. You had one gym
credit. Yeah.
High school, they pass you, but you don't pass.
But when I was in school, I always was an A and B student up until ninth grade.
So I ain't going to say I really learned nothing in high school because I really wasn't even going to school.
So what happened in ninth grade that made you be like, eh, I'm not even.
You know, you don't really skip school.
You don't skip class and shit.
So once I got to high school, shit, it was like,
I'm old boys from these other hoods who I know.
It's just a whole different ballgame.
My mama already didn't want me to go to that school anyway.
Like, why she didn't want me to go to Washington because she knew that.
But I had, like, better to go and end up going anyway.
When you dropped that 150 on the school,
was there any old teachers you wanted to stunt on?
Any teachers told you you wasn't going to be shit?
Hell not.
Like, I didn't have teachers who told me, like,
I ain't going to be shit, but I always told them
I'm going to be shit.
Being a millionaire at that, like,
I ain't on one of those shit on nobody.
Even though, like, they're going to feel it if they was one of the ones.
My principal, he literally, me and about two of them,
he literally say our name on the intercom.
He's like, five students at this school who don't need to be here.
I'm going to make sure.
About 30 days, all of them out of here.
My name, Brian.
He can say it over the intercom.
Yeah, like four days straight.
We got to put out in five days.
He know me, know me.
Personally, I didn't got locked up.
He didn't got me locked up before.
What did he say when you gave him that check? He got you locked up in high school?
Yeah, like...
For what?
So I'm on the camera.
It's like a food fight.
I'm on the camera.
I got a chair in my hand.
I throw the chair, but I don't throw the chair.
Then you don't see me, but you see the chair fly across the room.
Like in the cafeteria. But I really didn't throw the chair, though you don't see me, but you see the chair fly across the room, like in the cafeteria.
But I really didn't throw the chair though.
I think you do that chair.
Yeah, let's talk.
Who threw a chair?
I'm just gonna throw a chair.
I'm just gonna say your name now.
Yeah, it's a food fight.
You throw a chair.
Everybody else throw a macaroni.
You're holding a chair.
You throw a chair.
You move off the camera, then the chair flies.
I'm really playing games though.
Ain't one of the young that seen me
that he really went on with it.
But of course, but what I'm saying,
I didn't throw the chair.
And I ain't on camera
throwing the chair, you remember?
This is in the past.
That was his story.
You did not throw the chair.
I still ain't throw the chair.
But you can see why
he thought you threw the chair.
You can see why he thought you threw the chair.
For sure.
And because that one moment,
that out, like,
like, to the point where
the principal,
he already tell the lady
at the front desk,
if he come up here,
give him three days, like, I know him personally, like, he already tell the lady at the front desk, if he come up here, give him three days.
Like, I know him personally.
Like, so it ain't even mean nothing to me to, like, shit on him.
Or, like, it feel, like, good to me that, like, that he actually know where I come from.
Right, right, right.
Like, know me.
Like, know it's real.
Like, these same young dudes.
So he might even look at them different.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you know what I'm saying?
You never know what they're going to turn out to be. You. You never know what they're going to turn out to be.
You don't never know what nobody's going to turn out to be.
That's more of my thing, more than trying to **** on somebody or something.
You don't never know what they're going to turn out to be.
So that's why I try to keep it running.
Still, my daddy might hit the mega millions.
Right.
Why no QC artists on the album?
Damn, that's crazy.
I didn't even think about it.
You got 20 songs.
You sure?
Ain't no QC. I swear, I ain't think...
The song I had the City Girls on,
they didn't convince P to tell me
that they can have the song.
So I was going to put that on my album.
I f***ed with them strong.
So I had a song with them on it,
and it's a hit.
They taking it.
Yeah, I let them have the song.
What about Migos?
Man, if Migos really gonna be making music, they be gone, I be gone.
Like, Yachty my man, like, definitely shout out to Yachty.
Like, he like the first person that QC like grabbed me on his wing right like on some rap.
But like now I'm on some like gone all the time.
So he kind of feel like I don't really fuck with him like that.
But I really do though, you feel me? Like, he ain't really f*** with him like that. But I really do, though. You feel me?
Ain't that at all.
FaceTime your partner, man.
I mean, we'll chop it up.
I'll shoot him a text message or something like that.
But, you know,
ain't like,
I probably won't feel, but it ain't that.
When you say that
I don't have emotions, right, is that something that you
wish you did? Like, if you say I can't see, I miss you, I don't have emotions, right, is that something that you wish you did?
Like, if you say, I can't see, I miss you, I don't got emotions.
Right.
Do you feel like a void for not being emotional about things?
No, uh-uh.
I kind of, like, happy.
It's like that, like, not like that I'm not emotional.
Even if I feel emotional, I ain't gonna show it.
Why not?
I just ain't.
Like, I learned a lot of this from prison.
I was hurt in prison before.
That shit look down there drive you crazy. To the point I
had to come up with something in my mind where
it's like, I can't get nothing that much
power to make me feel like
I'm down and out.
So you suppress a lot of your emotions.
Clearly, you feel like
I think you feel everything. I just hear how you talk
and how you're aware of how you treat people
and how you make people feel.
Like, I think you feel everything.
Yeah, but at the same time, like,
I treat you and then, like, if you burn me,
I ain't going to be in my feelings about it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm going to handle it accordingly.
Like, no matter what we've been through.
So you think that's linked to not trusting people, too?
No, not trusting people.
Like, can my trust burn?
Probably.
You think you love too hard?
Like, you love so hard that if a person burn you,
you really gonna go to the pool.
Yeah, like, come on, bro.
We done everything.
You gonna do that.
Like, you literally did.
But that's the difference between the street and the industry.
Most of the times.
Yeah, damn that boy. Boy, it's some ****. Every time he street and the industry, most of the times. Yeah, damn, boy.
It's some **** every time.
He's falling in the industry.
What's the last **** you had to deal with
in the industry?
Interviews.
You said you wasn't doing it no more.
I wasn't sure. I was like, your baby might not come up here.
I said, I know he **** with us, but your baby might not
come up here no more.
What **** happened in the interview?
I already don't
like talking.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We know.
Then I say,
I be saying,
I don't even know
how to talk
because I don't, like,
it's like interrogation.
You right there,
you right there,
you right there.
You ask me a question,
then I'm trying
to keep it,
you feel me?
I ain't lying.
But I ain't telling
the truth either. I don't want to tell you too much. At that point, then it's like, with me, what I'm trying to keep it
At that point it's like with me what I'm used to be trying to tell. They just said too much. Like, bro, you done said too much. Like, damn.
You feel me?
Like, really, like,
the Insta's a whole,
your whole life change because you like,
you're in the hot seat.
You feel me?
Well, the worst thing you said
is that you threw a chair.
Today.
On camera.
No, I'm kidding.
On camera.
I ain't throw that bitch.
You're the principal.
That was the truth.
I ain't throw that bitch.
So why not bring your lawyer
with you to interviews?
He's so swift.
He'll do it too.
That's what I'm saying.
That might be the move.
Real deal.
He's so swift.
He ain't even my lawyer.
He's everybody else's lawyer, but he's my lawyer.
He's my lawyer that I give for everybody else.
Because I ain't getting in trouble.
I'm glad to hear you say that.
That's right.
That's good.
But you still got too many people with you.
You got to get down to about a good solid five.
That's all it is.
That's 15.
You know, 15 count.
One, two, three, four, five.
He in a blue hat ain't with me.
Oh, okay.
Goddamn him in a true religion outfit ain't with me.
A true religion outfit?
Is that wax?
That's wax.
That's his.
That's your security.
That ain't my security.
That's what you need to learn. Where's your security. That's your security. That's when you need your lawyer.
Where's your lawyer?
That's not your lawyer.
The hour is out right now.
My turn.
And we appreciate you for joining us, brother.
And thanks for breakfast.
I appreciate it.
It's Lil Baby.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Is your country falling apart?
Feeling tired?
Depressed?
A little bit revolutionary?
Consider this. Start your own country.
I planted the flag.
I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There are 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it.
I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
I am the Queen of Laudonia.
I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg.
I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition.
The Waikana tribe owned country.
My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong?
No country willingly gives up their territory.
I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
Bullets.
We need help!
We need help!
We still have the off-road portion to go.
Listen to Escape from Zakistan.

As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you.
Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams.
I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves.
For self-preservation and protection,
it was literally that step by step.
And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.
This increment of small, determined moments.
Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love.
I forgive myself.
It's okay.
Like grace. Like grace,
have grace for yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on

Charlamagne Tha God.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Hey, good morning.
What's good?
How was your weekend, Charlamagne?
You was here earlier.
How was my weekend?
My weekend was great
because I was home
doing not a goddamn thing.
I was actually doing
what you was doing.
You were saying how you was
cleaning out your closet
and all that good stuff.
Same exact scenario.
Getting rid of a lot of junk
that you need.
Getting rid of a lot of stuff.
I don't know why I have so many clothes, bro.
It's just a lot.
I wear the same thing.
I dress like a drug dealer.
I wear the same thing for two, three days in a row.
I'm like, why do I have all these clothes?
All I really want at my age is sweatsuits and comfortable sneakers.
Yeah.
Everything else is too much.
Yeah.
That's it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I watched a lot of TV this weekend.
I don't really get to watch TV a lot. I watched this movie, The Gift. Mm's it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I watched a lot of TV this weekend. I don't really get to watch TV a lot.
I watched this movie, The Gift.
I don't know if you saw that.
Uh-uh.
And then I watched that movie with Mark Wahlberg.
I was like, you know what I do?
I just look on Netflix and I'm like, what's trending right now?
I definitely watched The Hillary Doc this weekend.
I didn't see The Hillary Doc.
Was it good?
I thought it was phenomenal.
I mean, I wish they had dug deeper on some things, but I liked it.
I enjoyed it a lot.
Okay.
I watched all four episodes of that.
Yeah, no, I didn't get a chance to check that.
I'm going to check that out this week, though.
But, yeah, we got rumors on the way?
Yes, we are going to talk about the baby.
There was an incident that happened over the weekend where somebody had the phone in his face,
and then he slapped the phone and hit the girl and whatever.
We're going to let him tell it.
All right.
And also, you know, the greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th you
already know so today you know we're gonna do a Biggie mix so you can start
getting your request in or what you want to hear your favorite Biggie joints are
you lying to people what you want to let's represent let me guess let me guess
you want to hear the freestyle on for master flexes album with Biggie and a
lot yeah but we've been working together nine years.
I say that every year because that's one of the greatest freestyles of all time.
Is it on there?
Okay.
Which one do you want to hear?
You want to hear...
What do I want to hear?
You want to hear...
One More Chance.
What?
Why did you say that?
Big Papa.
There's so many songs I want to hear because you know I'm from Brooklyn.
Juicy.
I wouldn't mind hearing Bone and Biggie.
Okay.
All right.
Bone and Biggie, Biggie.
And we already did this mix, by the way. No, I didn't. You just said it. I would have my hair a bone and biggie. Okay. All right. Bone and biggie, biggie.
And we already did this mix,
by the way.
No, I didn't.
I'm about to go do it now.
There you go.
I'm about to go do it right now.
I'm about to go do it in a second.
So you might get some requests.
You want to get your requests,
let me know.
I'm about to get all your joints in now. You can't really miss
with a biggie mix, though.
Because even whatever you request,
Envy probably going to play
any goddamn way.
Hey.
Biggie had two albums.
Three.
If you count the second as a double.
I mean, the second was a double.
All right, well. You can't play no R. Kelly
in Biggie, though.
That song's still going to go.
Yeah. Damn it, man.
I heard that randomly one night
when I was in South Carolina. Y'all can play that.
Yeah, that song's still going. I played it in the club.
I think Biggie's
passing overpowers R. Kelly's BS.
There you go.
That ain't R. Kelly's record.
That's Biggie's record.
R. Kelly just happened to be on it.
R. Kelly just happened to be on it.
Just letting you know.
Yeah, just let the crowd sing it.
You say whatever you want.
You cannot play that record because R. Kelly on it.
Biggie catalog ain't that long for you to be saying,
I'm not playing this record.
Yeah, I still play that Biggie.
Come on, man.
You must be.
All right, anyway.
Winners on the way. Don't move. It's, man. You must be. All right, anyway. Windows on the way.
Don't move.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
It's about time.
What's going on?
Rumor Report.
Rumor Report.
This is the Rumor Report.
Talk to them.
With Angela Yee on the Breakfast Club.
Well, Black Thought is doing an off-Broadway stage play,
and it's a new musical that he co-created with John Ridley.
John Ridley. John Ridley
also wrote 12 Years a Slave,
by the way. And Black No More
is the play that's a satire
based on the novel of the same
name. So he'll be on
stage with Hamilton's Brandon Victor
Dixon and next to
normal actress Jennifer Damiano
to feature in the production.
I'm excited for that. Okay.
You know I love to go see a play,
and Black No More was a great book,
so I think that sounds like something
that we should all go check out.
Questlove said,
y'all know how major this is?
Hashtag Black No More at Black Thought.
Sleuth to Black Thought.
Always doing something great.
All right, Vanessa Bryant has posted
a picture of her daughter Natalia
with a mural of Kobe
and Gigi. So
she posted, my babies, Natalia
went to formal together, family.
She was getting ready for her winter formal
and it was
you know, it was
emotional when you look at the picture and you see her
smiling and everything and
see how strong the family is being
in the wake of everything that
has happened so natalia is 17 years old standing in front of that picture that hurts that really
hurts man yeah all right nelly has uh hinted that he might be relaunching apple bottoms i realized
this when i saw melissa for a post a picture of her old apple bottoms ad and she posted nelly i
heard you you know,
Apple Bottoms might be coming back.
I thought about this when I saw the post, right?
Nelly should put out Apple Bottom jeans
for women that are over 40 but still in shape
and still got that physique.
Don't try to sell it to a younger audience.
Sell it to the older women that are over 40
and still got that physique.
No, I think anybody can wear the jeans.
As long as the jeans fit well.
Yeah, but why not cater to your demo?
Why not cater to the people that came up with you?
The Melissa Fords of the world who are over 40 and still fly.
Everybody can't have the Melissa Ford body.
You still want people to feel like it's accessible.
If they stylish, they stylish.
If they dope, they dope.
It doesn't matter who makes them.
Any jeans that make your butt look good, you know,
it doesn't matter what size you are.
Jesus Christ.
A nigga can't even have an idea in this room.
No, it's a terrible idea.
My God, it's not a terrible idea.
Just don't limit him up to 40 plus.
He can have the Urban AC of jeans.
But only for a certain size?
He can't get into a certain demo.
He don't want the Urban AC.
He can't get into a certain demo.
Okay?
Look at Drom.
Drom is 19 and he got all that time.
By the way, there's plenty of 40-year-old women out here that are still banging with their bodies.
Correct.
What are you talking about?
Yes, correct.
And if they're not banging with their bodies, they'll still squeeze their ass in them jeans
because them young, badly built women do it with fashion over every day.
Anyway, he might be relaunching Apple Bottoms.
All right, now DaBaby has apologized for slapping a woman in the face.
Now, he was in Tampa, and he basically,
I guess this woman was trying to take video footage of him
as he was walking past,
and the phone with the flash was in his face,
and he said he had no idea who it was.
Here is his apology.
I do sincerely apologize.
I'm very sorry that there was a female
on the other end of that flashlight.
But, you know, keep in mind,
I couldn't see you
because you got the flash this close to me,
which is okay. It's no problem. That's what
I sign up for. That's the risk I take when coming
to, you know, put on the show for my fans.
But out of all them fans, you know,
how many people knew how to zoom
in instead of
popping me in my motherfucking eye with the phone?
I truly do not believe that the baby
would have slapped that woman
if he knew I was a woman.
But this is the second time a situation like this happened
with DaBaby and his team.
And they just got to move smarter.
Because when you're in them clubs, it might be a woman.
I think guys know not to test DaBaby.
Well, here's some more of DaBaby apologizing.
She's trying to pull it up.
But I think it was an accident.
I mean, if you look, the camera was damn near at his face, and he smacked it away.
He didn't know it was a woman, and I think the baby, if he knew it was a woman, wouldn't have smacked her.
I don't think so either.
Listen, here's some more.
You can get fluid out.
I'll fly you out.
You know, we can sit down.
We can have an adult conversation.
I would love to apologize to you in person.
I can apologize publicly.
If you don't prefer that, I can apologize privately.
So, you know, let's just try to move
gracefully, man, and keep in mind
that a lot of actions, really
every action, you know, has an equal or greater
reaction. Now, TMZ says
that after all of this happened,
the crowd started booing him, and he
left without performing at all.
And he's also trying to find footage from
somebody who might have it from a different angle, because what he's saying is the woman hit him in the face. That footage is all. And he's also trying to find footage from somebody who might have it from a different angle,
because what he's saying is the woman hit him in the face.
That footage is out.
But he's asking for more footage.
Yeah, that came out. I saw it yesterday.
Well, here's what he said.
I got $10,000 for whoever got a good angle.
A shot of him hitting me in my eye with her phone.
Get at me.
Yep, that came out.
Academics posted it right after he said that.
Somebody sent it in.
Well, yeah, I think he wants more footage
because he's trying to show that he did get hit
as he's been trying to say that he did get hit.
So that was his reaction.
And now he is saying that he has to lawyer up.
He said, who knows Shorty's government name
so my lawyer can get active
because I guess this might end up being a situation
she might be trying to
I'm going to tell you something else too. I also think that
the baby's security is too tall.
Kane and all of them, they're just way too tall.
Security needs to be his height because tall
security can't see everything that's going on at this
5'6 level. When you 5'6
and you eye to eye with people, you see things a little bit
faster than the people that's taller than you. Nah, but when you're
walking through the crowd, it looks like he was walking through the crowd to his
section or stage and when you're walking through that crowd, I mean like he was walking through the crowd to his section or stage, and when you're walking
through that crowd, I mean, there's no way of stopping
everybody from touching you. I mean, and
probably the main security was looking at dudes,
wasn't necessarily looking at women. They're too tall.
They don't see what the baby sees down here.
I'm telling you, that's what it is. Well, the woman
has been identified, and she also has
gotten a lawyer over the weekend,
so now he's got to get ready for whatever
might be coming his way.
Again, just save that $10,000 you was going to give somebody for the video of the baby and give it to the young man.
But I wonder if the baby got hit in the head with the phone,
is that self-defense?
Yes.
I mean, it's right here.
The video's right here.
Yeah, that is self-defense.
You got hit in the head with the phone.
I didn't know who it was.
I just reacted after getting popped in the head with the phone.
Once again, his security's too tall.
I'm telling you.
Sweet to my guy, Kane.
You got to have security that's around your eye level, man,
to see what's going on even on this 5'6 vision different.
All right, well, that is your rumor report.
I'm Angela Yee.
You would know, right?
Yes, we see the floor a little bit different.
It's like a point guard see the floor different than a center do.
All right.
You can have both.
You need some tall security, but then you need people your height.
Get some little guys.
That's it.
Come on, get some little short stocky guys, man.
Oh, my goodness.
Who are you giving your donkey to, man?
We need Brian Williams at NBC to come to the front of the congregation.
I've been thinking about this all weekend.
I just need to get this off my chest.
All right.
We'll get to that next.
Keep it locked.
This is The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
It's time for Donkey of the Day.
Donkey of the Day.
I'm a Democrat, so being donkey of the day
is a little bit of a mixed one
so like a donkey
donkey of the day
now I've been called a lot
in my 23 years but donkey of the day
is a new one
well donkey of the day for Monday March 9th goes to NBC's
Brian Williams this has really been bothering
me all weekend long.
This was a topic of discussion for me all weekend because when I see things like this, I really think I'm in the matrix.
Like, seriously, something is not right.
I feel like social media is making us all dumb.
Okay, we are all slaves to our smartphones, and sadly, our smartphones are smarter than us.
Critical thinking skills are at an all-time low.
In fact, people aren't even thinking anymore.
They get on social media, and they wait for someone else to do their thinking for them.
People can't even form their own thoughts.
There's so much group thinking, so many people just waiting on marching orders,
waiting to know how they should feel about things,
waiting to know how they should think about things.
And worst of all, if they see it on social media
and it seems to come from what people think is a reliable source,
if there is a blue check next to the name of the person,
oh my God, they take it as facts.
Don't even think to do your own research because that
takes too much time and energy. We just remember
whatever we are served because there's just a lot
of lazy learners out here. We just repeat
whatever we are told and that's the
problem with social media. Well, that's
exactly what happened with NBC's Brian
Williams. See, there was a tweet
by a freelance journalist named Makita
Rivas. Makita Rivas. I don't know how you pronounce his name. He wrote that was a tweet by a freelance journalist named Makita Rivas. Makita Rivas. I
don't know how you pronounce his name. But he wrote that former Mayor Michael Bloomberg spent
$1 million per U.S. resident on his very short-lived presidential campaign. No need for me
to explain what happened because it's all documented on video and audio. Let's go to MSNBC
for the report, please. Somebody tweeted that um actually with the money he spent
he could have given every american a million dollars got it let's put it up on the screen
when i read it uh tonight on social media it kind of all became clear bloomberg spent 500 million on
ads u.s population 327 million uh don't tell us if you're ahead of us on the math he could have
given each american one million dollars and
have had lunch money left over it's an incredible way of putting it it's an incredible way of putting
it it's true it's disturbing it does it does suggest you know what we're talking about here
which is there's too much money in politics no i'm not the highest grade of weed in the dispensary
i also graduated two years behind schedule and I got my diploma in night school.
So I don't know how qualified I am to speak on this.
Now, when I first saw this tweet, it didn't sound right.
But there's no way someone with a blue check could be this loud and wrong, right?
See, my daughter brings math problems home nowadays, and I can't figure it out.
Do you have trouble with your daughter's math, Envy?
All the time.
Yeah, I always tell her, take it to your college-educated mom, Envy,
because that new math difference.
When I first saw this, I said, maybe I'm the dumb one and it's that new math, okay?
This is just another example of I don't know what I'm talking about.
Probably.
But no, social media is stupid.
This device that social media has, this device right here, this right here,
the smartphone, okay, that's social media.
It has everybody's critical thinking skills at an all-time low.
Because, in fact, if Bloomberg was to give out that money to everybody in America,
it would only be like $1.53 or something like that.
Okay?
But anything we see on social media, we take for gospel.
Why?
Because we want to believe things about people we don't like.
We want to believe things, okay, if they reinforce whatever narrative we are pussing.
All right?
In this case, it's too much money in politics.
Everybody knows that already, but folks are trying so
hard to prove a point that in your quest to
make someone else look crazy, you make yourself
look crazy. How does that get
past every producer, though?
How does this make it to TV? I'll tell you why.
Because people are lazy learners. I know the mindset.
The mindset is if someone took the time to tweet
this, then clearly they have done the math already,
so no need for me to do it.
But we are all going to learn the hard way.
That's not how any of this works.
And what makes this story even worse is Brian Williams was once suspended by NBC
back in 2015 for six months because he exaggerated his role
in a helicopter episode in Iraq.
So when people see Brian Williams, you automatically think liar.
And that's why I'm not including Mara Gray
in this donkey of the day.
Mara is a New York Times editorial board member.
She's the woman talking in this clip.
She's busy.
It's Women's History Month.
They had her as a guest on the show.
Everybody prepped her.
If you're on MSNBC,
one of the most respected news networks,
and they tell you this is what it is
and this is what y'all be talking about,
why would you think they would steer you wrong?
So I'm not going to hold Mara Gray accountable for this because she wasn't driving the car.
She wasn't the one driving dumb.
The producers were driving dumb.
And Brian was in the seat shotgun next to the producers.
And Mara was in the backseat.
You can't catch a DUI in the backseat.
No, actually, Brian was driving the car, and the producers were riding shotgun.
You know what?
I just don't want to blame the black woman when there's all these white people involved. That's really the moral of. No, actually, Brian was driving the car and the producer was riding shotgun. You know what? I just don't want to blame
the black woman
when there's all these
white people involved.
That's really the moral
of the story, okay?
So please give Brian Williams
the biggest E-Hawk.
E-Hawk.
E-Hawk.
All right.
Well, thank you
for that donkey of the day.
Now, when we come back,
let's talk the baby.
800-585-1051.
The baby got into an incident over the weekend where a young lady shined a light, shined her phone in his face and actually hit him in the head with the phone.
He swung her and people are mad about the baby and saying he shouldn't have swung at her.
So we're asking, is it self-defense?
What would you do in that situation?
And now she's lawyered up.
She's got a lawyer up as well.
All right.
800-585-1051.
Let's talk about it.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
EJ, Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now, if you just joined us, we were talking about the baby.
He got into an incident over the weekend.
A young lady, as he was walking into the club, shined a camera light on his face
and actually hit him in the head, it looks like.
And he turned around and swung on her.
People are saying cancel him.
People are upset with him.
What would you do and what do you think?
800-585-1051.
Start with you, Ye.
What do you think?
If I was a baby and somebody hit me in the face with a camera,
yeah, I think I probably would react as well.
I don't think I could hit somebody as hard as the baby did, though,
so I probably might shove it.
What are you doing, Push-Up G? You might get there.
And I've been riding on my Nordic track all weekend.
There you go.
My arms hurt.
But, yeah, I think I'd probably give a little shove.
And, you know, you got security.
Yeah, but it's just a reaction.
You're walking through a club and somebody hits you in the head with their phone.
And you know the baby reacts.
The first thing you want to do is turn around and swing.
You know what I mean?
You're not thinking it's a woman.
You're not thinking anything.
You're just thinking, yo, get the F off away from me.
You know what I mean?
Versus the camera.
You don't know what.
He probably didn't know what it was at first.
Just something hit you in the head.
Oh, and it's because you see light.
So you can't see anything when the light is shining in your face.
Absolutely.
Yeah, I truly do not believe that the baby would have slapped that woman if he knew it was a woman.
Like, if you see the video, you can totally see it was reactionary, dark club.
You get hit in the face with something that's glowing, you just react.
I get it.
But I was thinking about this, right?
The baby has to go to therapy.
Why?
He has to go to counseling.
I'll tell you why.
Why?
He's clearly suffering from PTSD.
Correct.
He's always on edge.
You're talking about a brother who had to kill a man in self-defense in Walmart.
Correct.
He's had people run up in his house before and try to kill him.
Had shootouts in the crib.
Got off on that because that was self-defense.
Not to mention he's probably still grieving his father.
So it's a lot of anger there.
I just want him to go to therapy and deal with all that.
Because if he doesn't, it could cost him a lot in the future.
But yeah, even if he goes to therapy, I don't think it'll change.
Yeah, I don't know if that's going to react.
Why not?
Because even think about the guy who tried to come at him in the Louis store and all of that.
What's he going to react differently?
Once again, I'm not talking about a guy in the Louis store.
I'm talking about in a situation like this when you're an artist and you're walking through the club on a walkthrough.
People are going to be touching you.
People are going to be putting their hands on you.
There's no need for you to react with violence in every situation. Even in the hotel
lobby when the guy was trying to
record him and do it with his daughter, he jacked the dude up
and put the dude on the chair. All I'm saying is it's
clear that the brother suffers from some sort
of PTSD that he needs to
go get handled because if he doesn't
it could cost him a lot in the future. I ain't going to front
all those situations. I think
I actually deserved it. I'm not going to lie.
If I'm with my kid and I say,
yo, please don't record my kid.
I don't want nobody to know where I'm at.
And you record me anyway,
yes, I'm going to get a little physical with you.
Don't record my kid.
But you're the baby.
You got to keep your hands clean.
And you also know people are going to come at you
trying to see you and get money from you for things.
So sometimes you have to figure out,
how can I change?
How many times has Fat Joe come in here
and said
how people used to try him
just because they know
he was going to be dissing
out $50,000, $100,000.
And nowadays,
they locking niggas up.
So the baby don't need that.
All I'm saying is
I think that the baby
got a lot of trauma
and he's got a very short fuse
because of that PTSD.
That's not easy stuff
to have to deal with.
You ever killed somebody?
No.
You know what I'm saying
No I haven't
That's what I mean
I passed on that one
Like come on
That brother has a lot
Of different triggers man
And a lot of trauma
That he needs to deal with
And I really hope
That he does go deal with it
Before it costs him a lot
And you also don't want
People purposely doing things
To you because they know
You'll react
Yeah but people
Gotta respect though
And then they'll get some money
You hit me in the head
With the phone
I was supposed to say
Okay and keep it moving
No I reacted But if somebody Accidentally does something To you and then Now'll get some money. You hit me in the head with the phone. I was supposed to say, okay, and then keep it moving?
No, I reacted. But if somebody accidentally does something to you,
and then now you got to pay all, you know what I'm saying?
Who knows?
Right.
Hello, who's this?
This is Portia from Las Vegas.
Hey, Portia from Vegas.
Well, good morning.
Good morning to all of y'all.
I just want to say, you know, I really like DaBaby.
I really do.
I love his music and energy.
It's so positive.
But if he don't stop now with all that he's doing up in them clubs,
he's going to wish he did because he's going to mess up his money.
Him and his team need to stop being so aggressive.
You said you signed up for it in the little video.
Then do what you're supposed to do.
You get hit in the face with a phone.
You made $10 million.
I agree with you.
I'm telling you, all that aggression comes from something, though.
All that aggression comes from the PTSD that he's dealing with from, you know,
killing somebody in self-defense, from dudes running up in his crib.
I'm telling you, that's where it comes from.
People also got to understand they got to respect people's space, man.
You got to respect people's space.
It doesn't matter if they're a celebrity, your favorite celebrity.
You got to respect people's space.
He's just got a lot to lose right now, though, you know?
And we acting like we haven't seen this happen before in our culture,
whether it was Gucci Mane, whether it was T.I., whether it was Fat Joe,
all these brothers who had that aggression had to deal with it at some point,
go get some counseling, anger management, and calm it down.
800-585-1051.
We're talking about the baby.
He got into an incident over the weekend where a girl, I would say allegedly,
she smacked him in the head with the phone
as she was trying to take video,
and he swung on her.
I don't think he knew it was a woman,
but he did.
And we're just asking, what do you think?
He said he don't care if it's a man or a woman.
He'd have did the same thing, though.
Call us up now.
Hit me, I'm gonna hit you back.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
It's Topic Time.
Pick up the phone, baby. Call 800-585-1051 It's topic time.
Call 800-585-1051 to join into the discussion with The Breakfast Club.
Let's talk about it.
Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now, if you just joined us, we're talking about the baby.
He got into an incident over the weekend. What happened to you?
A woman hit him with the phone
and in the head.
It seems like
it was an accident
because she was trying
to film him
and she was so close to him.
He said,
you could have zoomed in,
you know,
and he ended up
swinging back
and hitting her.
And now she's lawyered up
and he has lawyered up.
Well, let's go to the phone lines.
I don't know why
she was that close anyway.
Kalisha.
Yes, hello.
Good morning. Now, we're talking about
the baby. What are your thoughts on the baby and what
happened? I believe that people
need to respect boundaries in personal space.
It's basic human instinct to
use fight or flight. Whether I'm a celebrity
or not, you know, if I feel like I'm in danger,
I'm going to react. I've
blinded myself with my flashlight on
my phone and got startled. So, I
don't think that he's in the wrong.
Like, respect boundaries.
Just because I'm a celebrity doesn't mean I'm not a human.
All right.
That is very true.
Thank you.
And people act like celebrities are not human, as if he's supposed to react any different
than anybody else.
Yeah.
Hello, who's this?
Hey, this is Jeff from Indy.
Hey, Jeff.
We're talking about the baby.
Did you see the incident?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I saw the incident, and like I was saying earlier, I'm all about equality.
Anybody should be able to get it.
They want equality.
Anybody.
Don't go around hitting women, sir.
That's what you're saying to me.
That's not what he said.
Look, it's discriminating.
If you punch a man in the face, how am I not going to hit this person in the face because of their sexual orientation or any of that stuff.
It could be a man identifying as a woman who identifies as a man.
You never know nowadays.
What?
What are you talking about?
A woman that identifies as a man that identifies as a man.
What?
Hello, who's this?
What's going on?
It's J.O. from Jersey.
What's up, bro?
What do you think, bro?
Yeah, man, I love the baby, man, but I can't side with him on this one, man.
With great power comes great responsibility.
And I think he got to realize, like, the position he's in.
That's like a stripper being mad because somebody slapped a doll in her thong.
It's like, dog, this is what people want to do.
If he was a regular dude, he could slap whoever he want as much as he want.
No, you can't.
You can't slap regular dudes either.
No, brother. No, you can't. You can't slap regular dudes either. No, brother.
No, you can't.
Listen, my point is that if it happened and he wasn't in the status that he's in,
it wouldn't have meant as much.
True.
I'm not saying that morally it's wrong.
I get that.
But I'm talking about in his position.
I get what you're saying.
The same thing with Wale.
The same thing with Wale.
Wale kept getting into it when he was going out.
He had to realize people are going to pick with you because of who you are.
That's a fact.
Hello, who's this?
Naya.
Hey, Naya.
Did you see the baby incident?
Yes, I did.
What are your thoughts?
I think that he wasn't wrong, for real.
Everybody thinks just because you're a celebrity, you've got to just let everything fly.
No, she shouldn't have been in his face with the flash right up in his face so close that you hit the man.
You shouldn't have been that close.
That's just common sense.
Yeah, I think we got to put this in context, though,
because it's easy to say a man slapping a woman.
We all know a man slapping a woman is wrong.
Correct.
In this situation, it was reactionary in a dark club.
He did not know who he was swinging at.
Right.
You know what I mean?
But I still think that DaBaby is wrong simply because he's DaBaby. I don't think he's wrong. And you got to be smarter. You know what I mean? But I still think that the baby is wrong
simply because he's the baby.
I don't think he's wrong.
And you gotta be smarter.
You know what I'm saying?
Because at the end of the day,
that's what you have security for.
And I truly believe
that the baby has to go to therapy.
He really needs counseling, man.
He's clearly suffering from PTSD
because, like I said earlier,
you're talking about a brother
who killed a man
in self-defense in Walmart.
He's had people run up
in his house before and try to kill him.
He had shootouts in the crib.
Not to mention he's probably still grieving his father.
I'm telling you, it's a lot of anger and it's a lot of trauma that he needs to deal with, man.
I don't think he was wrong.
See, the thing is, is when somebody hits you in the head like that, you don't know what's coming next.
He don't know what's coming.
You know, he's walking through a club.
He's not looking at, oh, that person has a camera.
All he felt was that camera hit him on his head. He's swinging because
he don't know if that was a right hand,
if a left hand's coming next, if a knife's
coming next. He's not by himself though, Andy. Doesn't matter.
My security might be slow. My security might not
have seen. My security might have been looking on the right side.
Not on the left side. My security might have been
looking behind me and not in front of me. You don't know.
In this case, his security's too tall.
He had security in front of him. He had security behind him.
They're too tall and they don't see what's happening
on the 5-6 level. Well he has apologized.
You know and he knows
that I'm sure he wishes none of this
would have happened. But it is a situation
where if you're walking through crowded rooms
and you have performances
and things happen and
people are always going to be touching you
and nobody's going to hit you in the head though.
Yeah but I don't know if it was like a swing hit him in the head.
Was it a hard hit?
If we want to talk about double standards,
if that was Beyonce or Cardi B walking through the club
and somebody grabbed her ass and security beat the F out of the person who did it,
there wouldn't be a problem.
No.
Nobody would be tripping.
I'm sure if somebody grabbed his ass, they'd do the same thing.
If somebody grabbed his ass and they beat the ish out of him,
they would be all over the place. I and I was wrong, and I was foul.
All I'm saying is I want him to go to therapy
and deal with all of the trauma that I know is inside of him
and the anger that's inside of him, because if he doesn't deal with it,
it could cost him a lot in the future.
All right.
We got rumors on the way?
Well, let's talk about Boosie.
We saw that he was handcuffed over the weekend before his show in South Carolina.
Well, he explains what happened. All right. We'll get into that handcuffed over the weekend before his show in South Carolina. Well, he explains what happened. Alright, we'll get into that next.
Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Hey. Morning, everybody. Why did they stop so abruptly
just now? I don't know. I don't know what just happened.
The song just ended. But we are The Breakfast
Club. Good morning. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Joe Biden.
She's spilling the tea. This is the rumor report with Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club.
Well, another endorsement for Joe Biden, this time from Cory Booker. He posted the answer to hatred and division is to reignite our spirit of common purpose. Joe Biden won't only win,
he'll show there's more that unites us than divides us. He'll restore honor to the
Oval Office and tackle our most pressing
challenges. That's why I'm proud to endorse
Joe. Joe Biden owes everything to black
people right now. Black people saved Joe Biden's
life, okay? So if he wants
to energize younger black voters to come out for him
and make brothers like me feel comfortable
voting for him, he needs to have a black
agenda specifically for black folks. Black people
saved his life in the past 10 days.
Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, who was arrested earlier for failing to register as a sex offender.
They said those charges have been dropped against him in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
But they did say that the reason why is because he's facing similar charges in federal court.
So he moved to California in July last year,
but did not register as a sex offender within five working days of moving.
And that is why he is now in trouble and was arrested.
So we shall see what happens when he faces these federal charges.
Now, Boosie was handcuffed before his show in South Carolina,
and people were wondering what was going on.
Well, Boosie did take to Instagram Live to fill everybody in.
I didn't find a way.
They had to let me go.
Now, all the guns were legal, so they let us go.
So that's what happened.
I guess they stopped him and there was guns, whatever,
but everything was legal, so he was good to go and still able to perform.
Okay.
Now, there was gunfire at a little baby show in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday night,
and they said that one person was sent to the hospital,
so little baby was not involved.
You can see video footage as people are scrambling around,
and he's on stage.
He has nothing to do with it, but there was footage that was all over the Internet.
Mm-hmm.
All right. Zaya Wade
has made her first red carpet appearance
at the 6th Annual Truth Awards
in LA. She was also joined by
her father, Dwayne Wade, and her stepmother
Gabrielle Union. At 12 years
old, here's what Zaya had to say.
Well, I think it feels great. I feel like
there was always something that I was meant
to do, but I was never able to find it, so I
always tried to do all this stuff.
And I eventually like just stopped looking for it.
And I think I found it.
I just feel that all people should be able to like experience life to the fullest.
And I think that really includes like knowing who you are truly and being able to show other people who you are.
And that's just what it's all about all right the truth
awards is an award ceremony to highlight the achievements and cultural contributions of the
black lgbtq community and its allies and provides funding for scholarships that support educational
opportunities for youth in the lgbtq community now uh this is something that duane wade has
addressed about zaya being assigned male at birth and coming out as transgender to her parents
Zion born as a boy came home and said hey so I want to talk to you guys I think going
forward I'm ready to live my truth I want to be referenced as she and her
I would love for you guys to call me Zaya so that's what's happening
now alright 50 Cent has promised that the Pop Smoke album
that is going to be put out
he's promised that
Pop Smoke's mother will
be at an award show so
feels like he's pretty confident that
the album that he's putting together for Pop Smoke
after his death will actually be
award winning. So 50 has called
another artist to contribute to the album. He's
reached out to Drake, Post Malone, Chris Brown,
Roddy Ricch and so we'll see
who ends up contributing.
I think they all will
and I'm excited about
50 Cent EP in that album.
Mm-hmm.
All right,
well, I'm Angela Yee
and that is your Rumor Report.
All right,
thank you, Miss Yee.
Revolt,
we'll see you guys tomorrow.
Everybody else,
it's the People's Choices Mix.
Today is the day
that Biggie Small passed away,
so we're going to rep
for Biggie in the mix.
23 years,
Michael Jordan number.
Mm-hmm. And we old. 800-585-10, so we're going to rep for Biggie in the mix. 23 years, Michael Jordan number. And we old.
800-585-1051.
We're going to start the mix off.
This was his first time in Jamaica with Biggie perform, and they just did a great introduction.
So we're going to start with that introduction, then we'll get to the mix.
Call me up, let me know what you want to hear.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
E.J. Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now, it's March. It's Women's History Month. And what are we doing today, Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, it's March.
It's Women's History Month.
And what are we doing today, Yee?
Well, today we are honoring the talented Janelle Monae.
She's a singer, songwriter, actor, producer.
And here's a clip of her speaking at the Women's March back in 2017.
It's Women's History Month.
And we're celebrating the most influential women in history.
Check out this phenomenal woman.
Women will be hidden no more.
We will not remain hidden figures.
We have names.
We are complete human beings.
And they cannot police us.
So get off our areolas.
Get off our vaginas.
We birthed this nation and we can unbirth a nation if we choose.
We can stop completely if we choose.
We are here to fight against the abuse of power and to unite and to remind us all that at the end of the day, we all pee the same color, and we must protect each other.
And that was another phenomenal woman in history.
All right, shout out to Janelle Monae,
and she'll also be headlining this year's New York City Pride Island concert
that goes down June 26th.
All right.
When we come back, we got the positive notes, so don't move.
It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela got the positive notes, so don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now, shout out to Lil Baby for joining us this morning.
His album is out right now, so make sure you go pick that up or stream it.
I've been listening to a lot of great music over the weekend, too, because that album's out.
Lil Uzi's album is out.
Jhene Aiko's album is out.
Meg Thee Stallion put out her project also.
A lot of good music.
Absolutely.
Only thing I listen to is Jadakiss.
Oh yeah, Jadakiss' album is out.
I listen to Lil Baby.
Lil Uzi's album is pretty dope too.
Me and my son was working out together and he was listening to that.
I didn't get into Uzi because I'm grown.
I might listen to it soon.
And I'm looking forward to some more albums coming out this week.
I believe in adult contemporary hip-hop.
So I was listening to Jadakiss' album all weekend long.
And I did listen to Lil Baby.
The reason I like Lil Baby is because Lil Baby is just dope.
And I'm from the South.
So it's like certain music I'm going to always have a taste for.
Lil Baby definitely falls into that category.
He's not adult contemporary.
I know that.
You just said you don't listen to Lil Uzi because he's not.
Yes, but the thing with Lil Baby is I'm from the South,
so he reminds me of a lot of the older artists that I grew up on.
Well, Lil Baby album is dope, but so is Lil Uzi's album.
I like Lil Uzi's album.
Like I said, I was working out with my son.
We were listening to his album.
Lil Uzi doing crazy numbers, like 300-something thousand.
But you got a positive note?
I sure do.
The positive note is simply this, man.
There is no time stamp on trauma, okay?
There isn't a formula that you can insert yourself into to get from horror to healed.
Be patient, take up space, and just go on your journey.
Breakfast club, bitches!
Y'all finished or y'all done?
Had enough of this country?
Ever dreamt about starting your own?
I planted the flag.
This is mine.
I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete.
Or maybe not.
No country willingly gives up their territory.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
