Crooks everywhere unearthed the plot to murder a one-woman WikiLeaks. She exposed the culture of crime and corruption that were turning her beloved country into a mafia state. Listen to Crooks everywhere on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Good morning, USA! Yes, it's Friday. The weekend is here. All day. The weekend is here. The weekend is absolutely, positively here.
Starting point is 00:03:07 What y'all got planned? Anything? Angela Yee Day. I got Angela Yee Day happening tomorrow in New York. I'm already pre-gaming. Some of my friends flew in from Chicago. Shout out to my girl, Chella, and to Joycey. So they were here yesterday.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Yesterday, I also hosted a town hall for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. And so she was in Harlem at the Schomburg and she was just answering people's questions. Okay. Yeah, I'll be out in Orlando on Saturday, you know, doing a real estate conference, talking to people about real estate. So I'll be there for a little bit. And that's it. I'm just going to take it easy.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Get a little rest because I've been running and gunning the last couple of weeks because of the car show last week in atlantic city so i'm just gonna get some well-needed rest what about you charlamagne uh i'm minding my business all weekend long you know what i mean like i love to do like i'm actually doing right now okay rest is important i was about to tell you something about rest, but I forgot because, ha! Ironically, I'm sleepy. No, rest is growth. That's what I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Rest is growth. And you got to take time to recharge. It's essential because when we spend energy, we aren't growing. We're pushing boundaries and increasing our capacity for growth. So rest is when we stop pushing and grow into the new space that we've created. So, you know, weekends are great times for rest if you can get it. Well, after Angela EJ, I think I'm going to take a vacation then. There you go. I need some rest.
Starting point is 00:04:31 I think that vacation was on the map already. But all right, let's get this show cracking. Front page news, what are we talking about? Man, imagine you won the Mega Millions. Imagine you won $1.34 billion. And a month later, you still haven't claimed your prize. We'll talk about it. All right. Well, let's get into a new joint so much new music came out today this is courtesy of little
Starting point is 00:04:49 tj you know little tj was uh shot seven times a couple of months ago well this is his uh first record since then it's called beat the odds it's the breakfast is your country falling apart feeling tired depressed a little bit revolutionary consider Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
Starting point is 00:05:18 I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe, my country, my forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warheads.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast.
Starting point is 00:05:51 That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. You know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout? Well, that's when the real magic happens. So if you love hearing real, inspiring stories from
Starting point is 00:06:36 the people you know, follow, and admire, join me every week for Post Run High. It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection. It was literally that step by
Starting point is 00:07:27 step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace, have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, what's up? This is Ramses Jha. And I go by the name Q Ward. And we'd like you to join us each week for our show Civic Cipher. That's right.
Starting point is 00:08:05 We're going to discuss social issues, especially those that affect black and brown people, but in a way that informs and empowers all people to hopefully create better allies. Think of it as a black show for non-black people. We discuss everything from prejudice to politics to police violence, and we try to give you the tools to create positive change in your home, workplace, and social circle. Exactly. Whether you're Black, Asian, White, Latinx, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, you name it. If you stand with us, then we stand with you. Let's discuss the stories and conduct the interviews that will help us create a more empathetic, accountable, and equitable America. You are all our brothers and sisters, and we're inviting you to join us for Civic Cipher each and every Saturday
Starting point is 00:08:47 with myself, Ramses Jha, Q Ward, and some of the greatest minds in America. Listen to Civic Cipher every Saturday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Jenny Garth, Jana Kramer, Amy Robach, and TJ Holmes bring you I Do Part 2, a one-of-a-kind experiment in podcasting to help you find love again. If you didn't get it right the first time, it's time to try, try again, as they guide you through this podcast experiment in dating. Hey, I'm Jana Kramer.
Starting point is 00:09:15 As they say, those that cannot do, teach. Actually, I think I finally got it right, so take the failures I've had. The second or even third or whatever, maybe the fourth time around. I'm Jenny Garth. Twenty nine years ago, Kelly Taylor said these words If you're ready to dive back into the dating pool and find lasting love, finally, we want to help. Listen to I Do Part 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Club, good morning.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. That was Lil TJ beat the odds. You know, he was shot, what, seven times a couple of months ago? This is his first record since then. So, Yee told you a couple days ago he put up a billboard that said, I'm back, and he is. So, shout out to Lil TJ.
Starting point is 00:10:19 All right, now let's get into some front page news. Yes, and let's talk about the $1.34 billion Mega Millions winner. Wait, I wanted to say Pat Beverly was traded to the Lakers. That's big. That's huge. Okay, go ahead. Well, he was traded yesterday. I think that's great for the Lakers.
Starting point is 00:10:35 I mean, he's probably one of the best defenders in the league, so I think that's wonderful. Charlamagne, what's your thoughts on that? I think that's great for the Lakers, but I don't know if it's good for Pat Beverly because I don't know if the Lakers are going to be any good. It depends on if Anthony Davis is healthy. We know LeBron is going to be bronze, but Anthony Davis has got to be healthy.
Starting point is 00:10:53 What does that do for Russell Westbrook? Yeah, what is Russell Westbrook going to do next year? We don't know. We don't know if the Lakers are going to be any good next year, but anytime you can add a Pat Beverly, that's great. I think a team like the Nets actually need a Pat Beverly. They need a defensive-minded player like Pat Beverly. All right.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Now what else you got? Okay. So the $1.34 billion Mega Millions winner still has not claimed their prize. It's been a month. That's the largest lottery prize ever won in Illinois and the third largest lottery prize ever won in the whole United States. But they do say this is not unusual for somebody to take this long. You know how long you have?
Starting point is 00:11:30 How long? A year. So you have one full year to claim the money, but you only have 60 days from the date of the draw to decide if you want to be paid over the course of 29 years or a lump sum. That lump sum would be $780 million cash. Yeah, I'm sure that person is... Has it been 60 days?
Starting point is 00:11:47 It was July 29th, so no, not yet. Yeah, I'm sure that person is planning. Because as they should, they should get a financial advisor. They should actually get somebody because it makes no sense. Let's say, you know, my household, if I win, you know, my family, we all break down the money. So you have to do it in a way that you don't get taxed twice. Meaning if I win and then I give the money to my mom, then I get taxed once and then she gets taxed twice. So a financial advisor will figure out a way that you can only get taxed once and figure it out the right way.
Starting point is 00:12:13 So taking our time is smart. What if you lose the ticket? That's wild. All right. Now the White House has countered some Republicans who are criticizing student loan forgiveness. You know how they did that? They actually highlighted some of the loans that some of these Republicans who are against these student loans being forgiven, some of the loans that they've gotten, some PPP loans
Starting point is 00:12:36 that have been forgiven. For instance, here is Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. For our government, just to say, you know, okay, well, your debt is completely forgiven. Obviously, they have an agenda for that. They need votes in November. So the timing is a pure coincidence there as well. But it's completely unfair. And taxpayers all over the country, taxpayers that never took out a student loan, taxpayers that pay their bills and, you know, maybe even never went to college or just hard working people they shouldn't have to pay off the great big student loan debt for for some college
Starting point is 00:13:10 student that piled up massive debt going to some ivy league school that's not fair well she had a hundred and eighty three thousand five hundred and four dollars in ppp loans forgiven uh now a lot of other people were talking about it verne buchanananan was posting as a blue collar kid who worked his way through college. I know firsthand the sacrifices people make to receive an education. Biden's reckless unilateral student loan giveaway is unfair to the 87 percent of Americans without student loan debt. The White House then posted Congressman Vern Buchanan had over two point three million dollars in PPP loans forgiven.
Starting point is 00:13:45 And the list goes on. They basically listed all of the congresspeople and how much they had in PPP loans forgiven. Matt Gaetz had $482,000 in PPP loans forgiven. Congressman Kevin Hearn had over $1 million in PPP loans forgiven. So, yes, the list goes on and on. They sound stupid. If it wasn't for those student loans, I wouldn't have been able to afford to go
Starting point is 00:14:07 to college. Those student loans helped me dearly. And then when I graduated, I got married. It took me time to pay off my loan and Gia's loan. Because once you get married, they kind of combine. So no, I'm grateful for those loans and I'm grateful for the time they gave me to pay them loans off. But if
Starting point is 00:14:23 I would have had help, it would have helped me out so much sooner. I had to grind my ass off, and they should. Imagine being mad about that, but you know you got a million dollars in loans forgiven. But you mad about $10,000. It's hypocrisy at its finest. It's hypocrisy at its finest.
Starting point is 00:14:39 You got a problem with student loan forgiveness, pay your PPP loans back then. They got to stop. They passed the $8 billion dollar military budget this summer they spent billions of ukraine taxpayers have to pay that nobody consults us all right all the trillion dollars on a yeah they spent a trillion dollars on a fighter jet a couple years ago they didn't consult us on that like knock it off and the whole time is relief oh what are you saying i was gonna say the whole point is this also should help the economy overall.
Starting point is 00:15:07 A lot of people have student loan debt and then they can't do certain things they want to do like buy a house. Sometimes it affects your employment. And so now this is money that can be circulating back in if you wanted to start a business but you know you have these loans. There's a lot of things that can happen. It can help you buy so many things.
Starting point is 00:15:24 All I know is anytime it's relief for everyday Americans, it's a problem. But they got money for everything else. And you don't ever hear this kind of rhetoric. They will bail out the airlines. They will bail out everything possible. But the regular person that just needs a little help, that don't matter. It don't even sound right. It's unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:15:43 I mean, every single time it's relief for everyday Americans, it's a problem. But when there's money for everything else, just billions here, billions there, nobody says anything ever. Where's the money going to come from? All right, well, that is your front page news. Like you said, they bail out the car industry. They bail out the banks. They bail out the airlines. They bail out all these other huge businesses.
Starting point is 00:16:04 They talk about the trickle-down effect. Get the hell out of here. But what about, yeah, people the trickle-down effect of having more money to be able to circulate and not having to be in debt. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051 if you need to vent. Phone lines are wide open on this Friday. Again, 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:16:21 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Let's go. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're man or blessed. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club. So if you got something on your mind, let it out.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Hello, who's this? Breakfast Club. Good morning. This is Replay from Chicago. What's up, brother? Get it off your chest. What's up, man? I just turned 29 years old, man. I'm just so blessed to be a young black man in Chicago and make it this far. I feel like it's just such a blessing, man.
Starting point is 00:16:52 People be dying so young, and I'm still blessed, man. That's right. Happy birthday, brother, man, and enjoy your month. Yeah. Thank you so much. Hey, I'm an R&B singer, too. Can I sing something for y'all real quick? Go ahead. Okay, cool. Here it goes. No time for games
Starting point is 00:17:07 Netflix and chill You know the deal You know the drill Hands on the bed Feet on the floor Silently You're moaning but your body's
Starting point is 00:17:23 screaming more Check the thermostat Girl, you're moaning But your body's screaming more Check the thermostat Girl, you're burning up You on fire, baby You on fire, baby Yeah, nah, yeah, man. Okay. Yeah, Dr. Tate, too, man. You can follow me on Instagram
Starting point is 00:17:40 at replaytheartist. And yeah, I'm a young R&B singer from Chicago. And man, Charlamagne. I met Charlamagne two months atlamagne on the set of empire uh we talked for a couple seconds um but yeah i met him on the set of empire we talked about uh going to savers day the following day whatever but yeah man it was still a good time oh yeah i remember that yeah i was in chicago and uh alicia keys who else was there? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:05 Yo, Alicia Keys is so beautiful in real life. Like, that was crazy. Like, seeing her, like, in real life. Like, for the first time. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Well, have a good one, brother.
Starting point is 00:18:14 Have a good birthday. Hello, who's this? This is Lucas. Lucas, good morning. Get it off your chest. Good morning. So, you know, all these Congress people, all these folks, you know, getting loans forgiven, talking about fiscal irresponsibility. There was a representative from Indiana named Jim Banks who tweeted yesterday and really said the quiet part out loud.
Starting point is 00:18:39 He said student loan forgiveness undermines one of our military's greatest recruitment tools at a time of dangerous loan. So basically, I mean, the real thing, like fiscal irresponsibility is not factoring to the equation. They want you to kill and die for corporations so that you can maybe go to college for free. Although people get screwed out of that all the time, too, when they go into the military. So this is what they really want. Right. Well, it's not free, although people get screwed out of that all the time, too, when they go into the military. So this is what they really want. Well, it's not free, though. It's just $10,000. And then up to $20,000 if you got a Pell Grant. School is still
Starting point is 00:19:13 expensive. Absolutely. Alright. Well, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. To see what's going on in this world, man, it's just so doggone frustration. I have to commend you
Starting point is 00:19:32 all, the way you all come in there, you know, high spirit. I know you can't come in there with home and family problems and issues. But man, this world is just getting to the point where I don't even, you know, look at the news. I used to watch Roland Martin, Dr. Rashad Ritchie.
Starting point is 00:19:51 And it's just so frustrating, man, to hear those folks, the Dirty Foots and the Knuckle Draggers, you know, when like you all say, the people, man, the people. That's why they keep this racist division between us. Because if we could unite and think on one accord, we may get things done. We can stop some of the things like, you know, this situation with the abortions and them complaining about a petty $10,000, man, when you're saying that millions of dollars are being forgiven and that corporations like Chrysler are being, you know, bailed out, the banks being bailed out.
Starting point is 00:20:33 And I just can't understand, bro, and it's so frustrating, man, how this country thrives off of greed. Nah, you're right, and I do you one better. You know, we bailed out all the automobile companies, right? We helped them out when times was hard. But then when recession hit and we all needed cars, those same automobile companies charged just more money for the same exact cars.
Starting point is 00:20:55 For Kia's and Honda's, you were paying $5,000 and $10,000 more for a car, the same company that we bailed out. Think about that. It's not like they're going to start giving out cars for free. No, but you charge over for cars? That's wild. Think about it. If a car is $20,000
Starting point is 00:21:14 because demand is so high, you charge an additional $7,000 just because? There was no rhyme or reason. They just did it because they could. Think about it. Yeah, that's the capitalist society we live in. Yeah, but that's. Yeah, that's the capitalist society we live in. Yeah, but that's not right. That's the capitalist society we live in.
Starting point is 00:21:29 Of course it's not right. That's America. Yeah, but that's not right. But when the automobile companies were in trouble, we bailed them out. But now when the world is in trouble and we need cars and we need things, they charge us more for it. That don't make sense to anybody. That's foul.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Hello, who's this? Carla. Carla, good morning. Get it off your chest. Good morning, Carla. Okay, what I'm tired of. Good morning, everybody. Actually, this is for Angela. Would you have a problem with dating a man that's in prison?
Starting point is 00:21:58 For how long and for what? 11 years. We won't tell you why. Yeah, I wouldn't date somebody that won't tell me why he's in jail. Yeah, that sounds crazy. I know, God, dude. You can look it up. Okay, because my cousin called me trying to hook me up with this man,
Starting point is 00:22:14 telling me I'm too bougie because I won't date a man that's in prison. And then I asked him, I said, first of all, how the hell did you get a better cell phone than me and you in jail? Yeah, I mean, look, I get it that things happen. Maybe you were dating somebody already. They end up going to jail. You hold it down. But I wouldn't start a relationship with somebody who has 11 years in jail who won't tell me why he's locked up, too, on top of it.
Starting point is 00:22:36 So, no. You can look up why a person is in jail. Yeah, you definitely can find out. Why can't you just look up why he's in prison? Yes. Okay. Because he told me, my cousin told me,
Starting point is 00:22:49 my cousin told me I was too bougie for not talking to a man that's in prison. I told him, I said, no, we can't even go on a date. Go to the dispensary together.
Starting point is 00:22:57 I said, what's the point? I can't talk to you. Look, you just be like, okay, yes, I'm bougie. What? You know, I am bougie. I have standards. There's a lot of good men out
Starting point is 00:23:08 here that are free and you know, that I can talk to and we can go to the dispensary, McDonald's, whatever. Well, if you're talking dispensary and McDonald's is the first thing. I, you know, I'm just saying. I would give it a try. The simple fact is, okay, listen, simple fact is, times
Starting point is 00:23:23 is hard right now. I'm not trying to be one of those chicks to go to an expensive restaurant and stuff like that. We can go to McDonald's, go to the dispensary. Baby, you better than McDonald's, baby. Ma'am. Definitely not bougie. I ask this respectfully. How much do you weigh, ma'am?
Starting point is 00:23:39 Huh? How much do you weigh, ma'am? Respectfully. How much do you weigh respectfully? Respectfully, that's undisclosed information that you don't need to know. Yeah, that's not a question you ask somebody. I want better for you, though. I'm going to Google that.
Starting point is 00:23:54 I'm going to Google how much you weigh. I want better for you, mama. When you're talking first date and you're talking dispensary and McDonald's, maybe the jail boy ain't that bad. Okay, when I say McDonald's or dispensary, I'm playing. I have standards, but if I want to go to an expensive restaurant, I can take my own credit card out and pay for myself.
Starting point is 00:24:12 When I want to go to McDonald's, when I go to McDonald's or something like that, it gives you actual time to just sit down and just get to know somebody. You don't have to go to an expensive restaurant. No, you don't have to go to an expensive restaurant. You can do better than McDonald's, mama. You don't have to go to an expensive restaurant. No, you don't have to go to an expensive restaurant, but you can do better than McDonald's, mama. You should be insulted.
Starting point is 00:24:28 The bar is so low for you that your cousin sees that and you should be insulted that your cousin thinks that he can hook you up with somebody that's in prison right now for 11 years. Is the bar so low, Solomon? You should be insulted. That's what it feels like. Thank you so much, mama.
Starting point is 00:24:43 You have a good week. What you doing this weekend? Burger King, Wendy's, White Castle? What you doing? Oh, she hung up. I would too. Seriously, if your cousin looks at you and says, you know what, I got somebody for her. He's locked up in prison for 11 years.
Starting point is 00:24:57 He don't think highly of you. Bro, she just said first date dispensary in McDonald's, bro. Come on, man. Maybe it is the right choice. No, she already doesn't feel good about that. It's not the right choice. All right. She's not bougie, though, clearly.
Starting point is 00:25:14 She's not bougie, but I would not talk to that cousin no more. I would have to have a conversation with that cousin about how they see me. All right. 800-585-1051. Now, we got rumors on the way? All right. Well, Drake threatened to slap somebody. Now, we got rumors on the way? All right. Well, Drake threatened to slap somebody. Allegedly, we'll tell you who's making these claims.
Starting point is 00:25:29 All right. We'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy Angelique. Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 00:25:40 We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Vanessa Bryant. It's about time. What's going on? Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is The Rumor Report.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Talk to them. With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. All right, Vanessa Bryant is donating that $16 million that she was awarded on Wednesday to the Mamba and Mamba Sita Sports Foundation. That foundation was established in 2016. It's a nonprofit. And from the beginning, according to a spokesperson,
Starting point is 00:26:12 Vanessa Bryant has sought only accountability, but our legal system does not permit her to force better policies, more training, or officer discipline. Those measures are the responsibility of the sheriffs and fire departments, responsibilities that Mrs. Bryant's efforts have exposed as woefully deficient, even giving amnesty to the wrongdoers. So this is all because of Vanessa Bryan's lawsuit against the L.A. County Sheriff's Department and L.A. County Fire Department over these graphic photos from the site of the tragic helicopter crash
Starting point is 00:26:41 that claimed the lives of Kobe, Bryan, and their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, as well as six more people. Yeah, and you can't teach a koof to them. You can't teach them morals. You can't teach them respect, empathy, integrity. If those officers don't already have that, you know, you can put them in all the training they want. They're going to continue to do stuff like this. They just going to be sneaky about it.
Starting point is 00:27:02 All right, now, the fake Drake. He was on the We in Miami podcast. He's doing a podcast? Yes. He's doing interviews? Yes. Izzy Drake. He initially got Drake's stamp of approval last year when he started popping up in Miami clubs impersonating Drake.
Starting point is 00:27:18 He even FaceTimed Drake to congratulate him on the release of his album, Honestly, Nevermind. And now he's saying at one point, things did get a little tense. He said recently he tried to go to Drake's hotel room in Miami and it didn't go well. I pulled up to Drake's hotel room with my management. Let's just say it wasn't very inviting. What did he do?
Starting point is 00:27:38 They tried coming at us. They pushed up on you? They just tried coming at us. So I ended up texting him, telling him about the fight. And he said that he's going to pull up and slap me for free. Drake said he's going to slap you. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:27:50 Well, is he Drake? He's leaving out the part where he challenged Drake to a fight. Yeah, he definitely did. He challenged Drake to a fist fight, so yeah, you leave it out that part. He said he went to boxing for a couple million dollars and all that other stuff. He is actually doing a boxing match in Atlantic City, you know, October 15th. Who's he fighting? M to the K show.
Starting point is 00:28:11 It was another guest on the show. Why are they doing interviews? You could act like somebody and be a fake somebody and do interviews? I guess so. But he's been getting paid $5,000 or more for appearances, too. I doubt that. That's what he says. He said he's touring. He $5,000 or more for appearances, too. I doubt that. That's what he says. He said he's touring.
Starting point is 00:28:27 He's got some music events, you know, and they pay for his hotels, his flight, everything. And you can't be mad at the podcasters for interviewing him because clearly it gets the conversation going. You know what I mean? Like, it gets the conversation about your podcast going. It's being talked about in a rumor report. Weird yet interesting story. Drake's going to slap you. Alright, now Gabrielle Union is teasing a Bring It On sequel.
Starting point is 00:28:53 And so she responded to a post that was celebrating Bring It On 22 years ago today. Bring It On premiered in theaters and she said, hmm, so ISIS might have a teenager. And then she hashtagged Bring it on. So maybe that's what's about to happen.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Maybe it's the sequel that everybody's been waiting for. All right, now the game convinced a woman to drink a beverage out of the trash can. And that is all for anything she wanted outside of the Balenciaga store. So he posted anything, episode one, LOL, follow anything for the game and stay tuned for episode two. This is going to get good. And so here's what happened. No, baby. You have Balenciaga? Yeah, I have Balenciaga. Follow through the place and hit us. What would you do?
Starting point is 00:29:37 Ten years. Ten years? Yes, I can. So you got a big in the trash can. First thing you find food wise, you just gotta go. Okay. Let's go. That's disgusting. I think I'll take these.
Starting point is 00:29:57 So she ended up getting a pair of sneakers, but apparently she found a Starbucks cup that was almost empty and it had something red inside and she drank it out of the garbage. Remember that story we heard the other day about that guy who got everything. He got monkey pox. He got syphilis. He got HIV. He got COVID. That's how that stuff happens. Doing stuff just like that. That's a good show to
Starting point is 00:30:20 have a lot. That's disgusting. Yes, it is. That's what they do anyway. People eat the cockroaches and people eat all that other stuff. That's the same thing? It's like fear factor. It's like fear factor. Same thing. I mean, truth of the matter is people do any and everything now for attention regardless,
Starting point is 00:30:35 so I guess it don't matter. Couldn't be me for a pair of sneakers. Nope. All right, well, that is your rumor report. All right, we got front page news. Next, what are we talking about? Yes, and since we were just in the mall with the game buying sneakers from Balenciaga for this woman, let's talk about the issues that these security guards are having at these high-end stores.
Starting point is 00:30:55 All right, we'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. Leaving a child in a hot vehicle can lead to their death very quickly. Set cell phone reminders or place something you'll need in the back seat
Starting point is 00:31:08 so you don't forget your child is in the car. Look for your baby before you lock. Paid for by NHTSA. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee. Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series,
Starting point is 00:31:22 The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise

Start your own country.
Starting point is 00:32:26 I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe own country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warheads. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:32:58 What is that? Bullets. Bullet holes, yeah. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:33:18 As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, It was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, I forgive myself. It's okay. Like, Grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best.
Starting point is 00:34:07 And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to Civic Cipher every Saturday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Daphne Caruana Galizia was a Maltese investigative journalist who on October 16th 2017 was murdered. There are crooks everywhere you look now. The situation is desperate. My name is Manuel Delia. I am one of the hosts of Crooks Everywhere, a podcast that unhearts the plot to murder a one-woman Wikileaks. Daphne exposed the culture of crime and corruption that were turning her beloved country into a mafia state. And she paid the ultimate price.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Listen to Crooks everywhere on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Shalami and the guy, we are The Breakfast Club. Let's get some front page news. Where are we starting, Yeezy? Well, an art teacher says that parents want her fired because she's too sexy. Roxana Diaz goes by The Art Teacher on Instagram. She has more than 750,000 followers, and they said that parents have asked the school to remove her from the classroom
Starting point is 00:36:29 because of her appearance. They said her body is distracting to the students. Look, she can't help her body. That's how she was born, correct? There was no enhancements there, right? Well, I don't know. It shouldn't matter either way, though. And I don't think a kindergarten kid is going to be staring at,
Starting point is 00:36:43 a pre-K kid is going to be staring at her ass and boobs, will they? She. She. You can't say that. You know you're on radio, right? I said she. I ain't say nothing. I didn't curse.
Starting point is 00:36:57 I said she. All right. I did not put it all out there. First of all, I want to say salute to Roxanna Diaz, because I think that's in Jersey, right, if I'm not mistaken? Yes. I think it's someplace in Jersey. Listen, she's in the right place,
Starting point is 00:37:08 because from what I saw, she's sticking in the kindergarten pencil. And she also has a hell of a lawsuit, because you can't fire a person for their body type. They are body shaming that woman. Yes, they are. And trust me, we was all kids once. We was little boys. Those kids are not distracted.
Starting point is 00:37:22 In fact, those little boys probably love going to school because of her. They probably wake up in the morning and look forward to going to that class because of Miss Diaz. But the problem is we all had those. The problem is some of the daddies do, too, I'm sure. That's where the problems arrive. Well, there's nothing you can do about that. Exactly. I don't think the daddies got nothing to do with it.
Starting point is 00:37:43 I see that narrative going on on social media. I think the daddy's got nothing to do with it. I see that narrative going on on social media. I don't think it has nothing to do with that. All I know is we all had those fine-ass teachers with nice bodies in school. As long as she's not dressed like she's going to a club to get a man, who cares? And if they do fire her because of her body, boy, she's going to have the biggest lawsuit.
Starting point is 00:38:00 She sure is. Envy said he used to dress sexy going to pick up his kids, drop off his kids at school. I did not say that. You did. You did Envy? No I didn't say that. You said you would go straight from the club in your club outfit. I did say that. Right. And you said you would dress sexy.
Starting point is 00:38:16 I was not dressed no damn sexy. What are you talking about? Okay. You probably was sagging your pants. You probably was sagging your pants showing your ass but from the pictures I saw she was not you know dressed quote, unquote. She's just very professional. She's had on regular attire. She wasn't just provocative.
Starting point is 00:38:29 She was just fine. All right. Oscar Mayer has dropped a hot dog flavored popsicle. And it even has a drizzle of mustard on it. So, and you know what's crazy? I saw the Oscar Mayer wiener truck yesterday in Brooklyn. And so I guess they were giving out these popsicles. Would you want a glizzy-flavored popsicle to suck on?
Starting point is 00:38:52 No. You're a sick human if you're out here sucking on a frozen glizzy. And I'm going to tell you something. Oscar Mayer did that on purpose. Yes. They did that on purpose, okay, because they're watching all these glizzy videos and watching how people devour hot dogs. They want to see you just sucking on that frozen glizzy.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Okay, it's not enough just to stuff it in your mouth anymore. They want to see you suck one. All right. Well, it's called a cold dog. So if you want one, you can go and get the cold dog. All right. And a group of seven men and women stole nearly $30,000 worth of merchandise from the Lululemon store. This was last week.
Starting point is 00:39:24 And nobody stopped them. Security guards at several high-end stores say they feel like sitting ducks because thieves are looting their stores in broad daylight and there's no consequences. Apparently, people are being told, security is saying,
Starting point is 00:39:36 just let it go. They said, we don't confront, we don't follow, we just let it go. And so a lot of people are just taking advantage of that. And they said there's been like a crime spike that's pretty much doubled as people are going into these high end stores.
Starting point is 00:39:50 A security guard at the Apple store in Manhattan in Soho said he once prevented a thief from fleeing with a plastic garbage bag full of headphones. But otherwise, he said, there's not a lot we can do. Well, I see in the Louis Vuitton store, they have real police now. They have like police officers, I guess, that they hire to make sure that if somebody does try it, they can get them.
Starting point is 00:40:09 But yeah, people, they come in with wire cutters and they cut the wires off the bags so they can take the bags out and they're not allowed to stop people and the thieves know that, which is crazy.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Yeah, so there's people that... Why they don't treat it like a... Why they don't treat it like the stuff, like the good lotion at the drugstore, like put it in a lock case or something. They would have to lock the whole store down.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Somebody gets it for you. But that's what they're trying to do. They're trying to lock the store down. They only let one customer in per sales associate so they can watch you better. They also do the smash and grab where they smash the glass cases and grab things. Why they don't keep all the clothes locked away in the back and just have, I don't keep uh why they don't keep all like the clothes locked away in the back and just have like um i don't know like a video menu in the actual store a booklet yeah so you want the store to be empty and just a book he's order online i mean that's just that's all i mean
Starting point is 00:40:57 nowadays you got to do that you know like i would think nowadays if you if your if your store is becoming a target you know because of these thieves that are doing smashing grabs and everything else why not? I think it'd be smarter to keep your inventory tucked away somewhere Well, somebody stole a wig out of my store in Detroit from private label They stole the whole mannequin head with the wig on it and walked out the door. Yeah Boy, they had somewhere important to go didn't they? She wearing that way, but you know you had somewhere Important to go didn't they She wearing that wig But you know
Starting point is 00:41:25 You had somewhere important to go But there's cameras everywhere Even in the parking lot So they got her license plate number And her friend that was in the store With her was part of it They got in the car together You're not
Starting point is 00:41:34 What does that mean though You're not gonna recognize her No they know who it is She walked in with cornrows Oh no they know who it is She walked in She walked in with cornrows Now she walking around
Starting point is 00:41:43 With a nice wig And some shades You might not even recognize her Yeah no but all you can do is Just I mean you also don't want She walked in with cornrows. Now she's walking around with a nice wig and some shades. You might not even recognize her. Yeah, no, but all you can do is just, I mean, you also don't want employees or, you know, the security to get hurt because you don't know what somebody might do to them. But I do feel like there has to be some, hey, remember when they used to, like, tackle people to the ground? Yeah, you can't do that no more.
Starting point is 00:41:59 You can't do that. But what happens now? I wish I would. Because the police are going to go after her for a wig. When all this crime is going on in the world, they're going to say, you know what? Hold on. We got to go get her for this wig. Like, what happens?
Starting point is 00:42:09 Because it's been about a month, right? Yeah, you can press charges and have the person arrested. Have y'all done that? I don't know. I don't want nobody to go to jail over a wig. But at the same time, it's like. Man, you out of your mind. What you say, Charlamagne?
Starting point is 00:42:20 Why y'all be letting people violate y'all like this? Like, yes. She stole from you. She should have to deal with the consequences of her action. But just put up a billboard with her on it. That don't help. She might like it. She might like that.
Starting point is 00:42:31 That's embarrassing. And she might be stealing that. What if she's stealing that wig to go commit a bank robbery? What if she don't watch Set It Off one too many times? You know what I'm saying? You got to thank her for going to commit this bank robbery. On some Spider-Man, if you don't press charges, and she uses that wig and it hurts you somehow.
Starting point is 00:42:46 So y'all want me to press charges? She just killed. Yes, she just killed Uncle Ben. She just killed Uncle Ben. With great power comes great responsibility. That's right. That's right. She just killed Uncle Ben.
Starting point is 00:42:56 No, that person didn't kill Uncle Ben. The person robbed. He robbed somebody, and then he didn't stop him. When he robbed somebody, then he went to go kill Uncle Ben. That's what just happened. Stop him from killing Uncle Ben, Angelique. All right, I'll let her know that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Yep. Send in an email now. All right. All right, well, that is your front page news. Now, let's open up the phone lines. It's Friday. Let's have some fun. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:43:19 We're going to talk frozen glizzies? No, we're not talking frozen glizzies. That's what you want to talk about. Maybe we'll do that next hour. So, Durin, get it off your chest. A lady called, want to talk about. Maybe we'll do that next hour. So, Duren, get it off your chest. A lady called and she was, we have the audio? Let's play the audio. My cousin called me trying to hook me up with this man, telling me I'm too
Starting point is 00:43:34 bougie because I won't date a man that's in prison. Look, I get it that things happen. Maybe you were dating somebody already. They end up going to jail. You hold it down, but I wouldn't start a relationship with somebody who has 11 years in jail who won't tell me why he's locked up, too, on top of it. So, no.
Starting point is 00:43:49 You know, I am bougie. I have standards. There's a lot of good men out here that are free and, you know, that I can talk to and we can go to the dispensary, McDonald's, whatever. You should be insulted. Like, the bar is so low for you that your cousin sees that, and you should be insulted that Like, the bar is so low for you that your cousin sees that.
Starting point is 00:44:10 And you should be insulted that your cousin thinks that he can hook you up with somebody that's in prison right now for 11 years. All right. So the question is, what's the worst hookup that you've got? All right. 800-585-1051. Maybe somebody hooked you up with somebody in jail. Maybe the person that they hooked you up just wasn't it for whatever reason. Let's talk about it. Phone lines are wide open.
Starting point is 00:44:26 800-585-1051. Let's discuss. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. 585-1051 to join in to the discussion with The Breakfast Club. Let's talk about it. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:44:39 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you're just joining, we're asking, what is the worst hookup you received? Now, this comes from a get-it-off-your-chest caller. Called earlier today, and this is what she had to say. My cousin called me trying to hook me up with this man, telling me I'm too bougie because I won't date a man that's in prison.
Starting point is 00:45:02 Look, I get it that things happen. Maybe you were dating somebody already. They end up going to jail. You hold it down. But I wouldn't start a relationship with somebody who has 11 years in jail who won't tell me why he's locked up, too, on top of it. So, no. You know, I am bougie. I have standards.
Starting point is 00:45:16 There's a lot of good men out here that are free and, you know, that I can talk to. And we can go to the dispensary, McDonald's, whatever. You should be insulted. Like, the bar is so low for you that your cousin sees that, and you should be insulted that your cousin thinks that he can hook you up with somebody that's in prison right now for 11 years. So let's start with you, Yee.
Starting point is 00:45:37 Worst hookup? I don't feel like I've ever had, like, a really bad one. You know, most of the... Actually, none of the hookups anybody ever tried to do to me worked out for me, but none of them were terrible. No jail callers and none of that?
Starting point is 00:45:50 No. I mean, my friend hooked me up with one guy. He just was like kind of corny, but it wasn't that bad. I just never went out
Starting point is 00:45:56 with him again, but it wasn't awful like that. Okay. Now, what about you, Charlamagne? I've been married,
Starting point is 00:46:01 I've been with my wife 27 years. I know you ain't asking me that stupid ass question. I'm a married man? I've been with my wife 27 years. I know you ain't asking me that stupid-ass question. I'm a married man. I've been with the same woman for half my life, 24 years. I've never had a hookup. In fact, every time I hooked up with somebody else, I had no business doing that.
Starting point is 00:46:16 We call that cheating where I'm from, but black men don't cheat anymore. But when I was a black boy, okay, so I don't know nothing about no hookups. Don't disrespect me on my marriage like that. Ask me about some damn hookup. All right, well, let's go to the phone lines. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:46:31 Let me ask you, let me return the disrespect. Have you ever had a bad hookup, Rashawn? Yes. Who hooked you up with somebody? Excuse me? Yes. Wow.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Cadillac Jack, who was a program director a long time ago, hooked me up with Charlamagne, and it's been the worst relationship ever. I've been trying to lose him since. This is by far, I would say, third. You know what? I would say third best relationship, just to be fair. But this is the second best relationship you've ever had.
Starting point is 00:47:00 Gia is, of course, number one. Okay? But number two is me a clue. Yo, course, number one. Okay? But number two is me a clue. Yo, shut up, man. Okay? Easily. Easily.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Easily. Yo, shut up, man. What's wrong with you? Yesterday, I'm arguing with people in my bottom or top. What kind of conversation is that? I saw that made the blogs. Yeah, that's stupid.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Yeah, I saw Young Miami reposted it. Oh, she did? She agreed with me. You're clearly a beige bottom. She did. She reposted it last night. I'm the stallion. My it. Oh, she did? You're clearly at beige bottom. She did. She reposted it last night. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:47:26 I'm a stallion. My goodness. Hello, who's this? This is Juice. Juice. What's the worst hookup you got, Juice? Man, let me tell you. My homeboy tried to hook me up with a chick from his job.
Starting point is 00:47:37 So we go out. We at the restaurant. We order everything. And my phone rung. So I answered my phone in the middle of the date. And all of a sudden, she was like, what are you doing? I'm like, give me one second. She's like, you need to get off the phone.
Starting point is 00:47:52 You're on a date with me. And she just got loud and started cursing. And I'm like, what in the heck is going on? Who called you, sir? If it wasn't your mom or a kid, I kind of feel it. Well, I mean, it was my homegirl.
Starting point is 00:48:08 My homegirl gave me a call. Come on. Now, you picked up your homegirl's call in the middle of a date? Why not? No, I agree with you. I mean, that's a little rude. It's not an emergency. Yeah, that's dumb.
Starting point is 00:48:20 If it ain't your mom or your kid, that's disrespectful, especially on a first date. Is it weird if a guy would have called her and she picked up the phone instead of talking to a guy? Absolutely. Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Manny Mills. How y'all doing this morning? What's up, bro? What's the worst date that you were on, brother?
Starting point is 00:48:36 A hooked up one, I should say. Well, the worst date was I had a homegirl say she's just a loner and she liked my picture and all this other good stuff we met on Facebook. Well, we went for a date and she brought her kids with her. Wow. She couldn't get a sitter. Yeah, she couldn't get it. Well, she didn't even say she couldn't get a sitter. She just brought the kids.
Starting point is 00:48:58 She wanted me to meet the kids. She wanted to make sure that there was no funny business in it. And it was pretty cool, but she had like five kids. Oh, my gosh. I hope you called an audible and wherever you was planning to go, you said no and you went to Chuck E. Cheese. Oh, brother, we did a U-turn straight. I was planning to take them somewhere nice like Willie Soos down here
Starting point is 00:49:20 in South Carolina, but I said, you know what? This sounds like a McDonald's moment. Absolutely. That's a lot of money. That's right. Let them go play in that play place. So you enjoyed it, though, with the kids and everything? Oh, yeah. We had plenty of fun,
Starting point is 00:49:36 but then she caught an attitude because that's all I wanted. After that, I wanted to say, greeted all the kids and we got to make sure everybody had happy meals and everything. And then I went up on my way and she went up on her way. That's why when I hear a homegirl talking about all she want
Starting point is 00:49:51 is a dispensary and McDonald's, she right up my alley. Right up your alley. You know why? Because if you'd have took her to Willie's soon, she'd have lost her mind. You hear me? Yes, sir. She need to pick up her self- mind. You hear me? Yes. Yes, sir. She needs to pick up herself esteem.
Starting point is 00:50:08 She done dropped it somewhere. My goodness. 800-585-1051. What's the worst hookup that somebody hooked you up with as far as a date? A lady called earlier and this is what she said. My cousin called me trying to hook me up with
Starting point is 00:50:24 this man telling me I'm too bougie because I won't date a man that's in prison. Look, I get it that things happen. Maybe you were dating somebody already. They end up going to jail. You hold it down. But I wouldn't start a relationship with somebody who has 11 years in jail who won't tell me why he's locked up, too, on top of it. So, no.
Starting point is 00:50:41 You know, I am bougie. I have standards. There's a lot of good men out here that are free and you know that i could talk to and we can go to the dispensary mcdonald's whatever you should be insulted like the bar is so low for you that your cousin sees that and you should be insulted that your cousin thinks that he can hook you up with somebody that's in prison right now for 11 years we'll take your calls when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now if you just joined us, we're talking about a woman that caught early this morning on Get It Off Your Chest. And this is what she said. My cousin called me trying to hook me up with this man. Telling me I'm too bougie because I won't date a man that's in prison. Look, I get it that things happen.
Starting point is 00:51:44 Maybe you were dating somebody already. They end up going to jail. You hold it down. But I wouldn't start a relationship with somebody who has 11 years in jail who won't tell me why he's locked up to on top of it. So now, you know, I am bougie. I have standards. There's a lot of good men out here that are free and, you know, that I could talk to and we could go to the dispensary, McDonald's, whatever. You should be insulted. Like, the bar is so low for you that your cousin sees that and you should be insulted that your cousin thinks that he can hook you up with somebody
Starting point is 00:52:14 that's in prison right now for 11 years. So we're asking, what's the worst hookup? 800-585-1051. Hello, who's this? Hey, this is Shanti. Oh, we know your words hook up. So, what's this? We know your words hook up.
Starting point is 00:52:28 When I was in high school, my mother hooked me up with this guy that had just moved into our neighborhood. And he was cool at first, but, you know, I would notice, like, little random stuff. He would just talk to himself sometimes. So, one day, I'm reading the newspaper and this boy problems with trying to get his driver's license and failed the driver's license test. Got upset and as he's walking back outside to the car that he
Starting point is 00:52:53 drove to the DMV, he spots two state troopers. So he proceeds to run the state troopers over. He hit them the first time, then backed up and hit them again. Oh my gosh. And this was your date? Yeah. was over. He hit them the first time, then backed up and hit them again. Oh my gosh. And this was your date?
Starting point is 00:53:07 Yeah. What do you do on the second date? Because I know you went out with him again. That's not like it turned you on the first time. She said, oh no. Definitely not. Definitely not. That was it for me. Alright, thank you mama. Is he in jail at least?
Starting point is 00:53:25 Or did he go to jail? Yeah, yeah. He went to jail. Yeeks. Hello, who's this? Hey, y'all. This is CeCe. Hey, CeCe.
Starting point is 00:53:32 Good morning. Peace, CeCe. Morning, y'all. Mourn-teened. We're talking about hooking you up. What's the worst hookup you got, CeCe? I think the fact that I've never really been on a real date at my age is like the worst thing ever, honestly.
Starting point is 00:53:50 What do you mean? How old are you? I'm 33. And you've never been on a date? Okay. I don't know if I don't present myself or put myself out to date the right way or if the last years I've kind of been a workaholic. Give us some examples.
Starting point is 00:54:06 You got to tell us where the people have taken you so we can determine it's a date or not. Tell us. Talk to us. I mean,
Starting point is 00:54:11 it would be like a daiquiri spot or something like that. Something very casual. I have never had like an ultimate date experience. Aw.
Starting point is 00:54:21 Like a real deal date. What would be the best date for you then? I'm simple. Like something to eat. And then maybe watch like a nerdy show. Maybe a crime show or something on space. And like actually have a genuine conversation.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Where you live at? Where you calling from? Alabama. See, I knew it was somewhere that probably didn't have much. I already knew. I already knew you was going to try to do that. Stop. And it might be. Where would you like to go?
Starting point is 00:54:52 I want somebody to put their initiative into planning something that they feel like I would like after or while getting to know me. I don't want to have to give anybody guidelines anymore because if you give them the guidance, they'll use that to their advantage. I want somebody to take that distance and get to know me. Well, you know, people can't read your mind either. There's nothing wrong with communicating and letting people know things. You know, you want to date somebody that's going to ask you questions too, that's inquisitive, has things they want to know about you, doesn't talk about themselves the whole time. I feel like a lot of times,
Starting point is 00:55:29 like, I'm kind of good nerdy, so I feel like a lot of times I have to play myself down. Nope. Don't do that. You know what I'm saying? Like, I feel. You hold on the line.
Starting point is 00:55:43 We're going to hook you up with Yee. Maybe you can hook up with one of her friends. Before you put her on hold, I just want to tell her, I hope that somebody in Alabama hears this and they take you on the date that you deserve. I hope they take you to Golden Corral Buffet and Grill. And then after Golden Corral Buffet and Grill, y'all go somewhere and watch Nope on Amazon Prime for $5.99
Starting point is 00:56:03 because that's a nice nerdy flick you can watch i think it's 9.99 actually that's the kind of date you would like right uh-uh completely wrong you said you want to you say you want to go to a nice restaurant and watch a nerdy movie what's the problem here no a nice like i wouldn't mind because i know i like when i'm in a relationship like i'm head into it it's hard to get me that up because i'm going it but i'm all into it so i'm like i find myself like picking up stuff that i feel like you're like off the whim or let me do this to make you feel special or if you express an interest to me i might go ahead.
Starting point is 00:56:45 If you don't already have it, I'm going to take that initiative to do that. I just want somebody to think on that same level and way to link with me. I'm taking you to Golden Corral. It's a buffet. All you can eat. Ice cream machine.
Starting point is 00:56:58 Not broken. Okay? And look how you acting. My goodness. Jessica, good morning. Hello? Hey, Jessica. Now tell us about your uh craziest hookup okay i think i win but um first hookup would be the cop that arrested me and one of my friends uh he flipped his number to the bars and then i looked at my friend i said i got this i'm gonna get us out of this ticket. Three years later, still
Starting point is 00:57:25 staying. Wow. So you're dating a cop that arrested you? I mean, it was a disorderly conduct. I was not. It was the wrong place at the wrong time. That's what they all say. I think we need to look at this from another perspective. You were such a terrible
Starting point is 00:57:42 date that this man had to arrest you. This man thought the date was so bad that it was a crime, so he had to arrest you. So what happened after that? They're still dating three years later. That's cute. That might have been sexy for her. I looked at him because I was not a criminal. I didn't know anything about this.
Starting point is 00:57:58 I said, is this forever? What am I being arrested for? I'm at the wrong place at the wrong time. What if he would have just put you in them cuffs, girl? Handcuff you to the bed? No more. Oh, my God. When I hear that, people are like, ooh, they arrested.
Starting point is 00:58:12 I'm like, no, that was the worst scary day of my life. Well, thank you, mama. That's crazy. You out here bringing new meaning to F the police, ma. Absolutely. So what's the moral of the story, guys? I have no idea. I don't know nothing about no damn hookups.
Starting point is 00:58:25 I've known the same woman for 24 years. I don't know what the moral of the story, guys? I have no idea. I don't know nothing about no damn hookups. I've known the same woman for 24 years. I don't know what the moral of the story is. Well, we got rumors on the way. Let's talk about it. What was in the rumors, Yeezy? Let's talk about threesomes and Tiana Taylor. Okay. We'll get into that next.
Starting point is 00:58:36 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's time. She's spilling the tea. This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. Well, Aunt Tiana Taylor's love to see a podcast that's with Bumble. She had Joey Badass on alongside Jidenna, and she was talking about relationships and things being nontraditional.
Starting point is 00:59:00 Here's what she had to say. Just when everybody heard that me and my husband had threesomes before it was like Oh, she's willing to do that to keep a man. I'm like no All me like but I hate the idea people thinking like it's always the guy that want this that so she introduced you to The pot life is like introducing that you know I'm saying to my husband and it's just like yo This is what I want to do. I think it works better when the woman introduces you. But put some respect on a woman's swag. I feel like it's always like they're trying to take that away from the woman
Starting point is 00:59:32 to feel like, oh, you doing it because that's what he want. And it's like, nah, actually, I run this shit. You know what I'm saying? It's because we think men are the hunters, yo. All right. And, you know, Jidenna and joey badass have had conversations about their thoughts on relationships so i'm sure that's an interesting one absolutely true though what tiana said is absolutely true because people do hear those stories and they think oh that's
Starting point is 00:59:56 must be what the man wanted she's doing that to keep him happy when the reality is it's probably the other way around so salute to tt allT. All right. Now, speaking of relationships, N.L.E. Chapa was on social media and he said, by nature, men are going to cheat. It's literally in our DNA. Men are here to procreate. That doesn't mean he doesn't love you. He's just doing what he was designed to do. N.L.E.
Starting point is 01:00:17 Chapa, hush, young boy. What is a young boy talking about? This is why we say black men don't cheat, because you will grow out of that mindset. We was young. We probably, yeah, we was young. We all thought that stupid. I don't believe that at all. All right.
Starting point is 01:00:32 No way, shape, or form. And Lil Wayne could be facing charges by a former personal assistant after an alleged altercation on a private jet. This was according to Radar Online. His ex-assistant, Andrew Williams, sued Lil Wayne Young Money Entertainment and a company called Signature Flight Support. He said that it's because of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, wrongful termination,
Starting point is 01:00:54 and negligence. Now, according to the lawsuit, they're saying Little Wayne boarded his private jet accompanied by his team, which included Andrew Williams on June 10th. There was an argument between the aircraft pilot and Lil Wayne. Andrew says that he placed his arms between them, trying to keep them separated. And that's when he claims that Lil Wayne punched him with a closed fist to the jaw. He said the punch was worse than a normal punch because of the numerous rings and large jewelry that Lil Wayne had on his hands. And so he said he exited the plane, went straight to the local urgent care for treatment,
Starting point is 01:01:27 and the only communication he has received from Lil Wayne and Young Money was a letter demanding he return a company backpack and a Bluetooth speaker. So now he's suing. Mm-hmm. All right, now Megan Thee Stallion is giving back to young girls and women,
Starting point is 01:01:43 and they have the Joy is Our Journey Dream Tour. So it's a free festival that starts in Atlanta August 20th. And it stops in six other spots. Well, it started. It stops in six other spots before it concludes in Birmingham, Alabama on September 16th and 17th at the Black Girls Dream Conference. So that's really exciting. And it's supposed to be for women between the ages of 12 to 24, women, young black girls, gender-fluid youth. And they said each stop will include interactive workshops,
Starting point is 01:02:15 programs focused on mental health, wellness, arts and culture, beauty, STEM, entrepreneurship, and dream building. A little salute to Megan Estaya. Mm-hmm. That's dope. Now, as you know, she was... Absolutely. Drop her the clues box for Megan Thee Stallion.
Starting point is 01:02:28 She was also on the Carisha Please podcast show that's on Revolt, and she also talked on there about beef and what fuels the beef with other artists. You know you want to be loyal. If Chase, he don't f*** with somebody, I don't f*** with you. That's different.
Starting point is 01:02:42 That's like your real... Oh, you said like as far as artists? Yeah. Like as far as like... I feel like we don't got to get into that because't f*** with you. That's different. That's like your real... Oh, you said like as far as artists. Yeah. Like as far as like... I feel like we don't gotta get into that because they don't have nothing to do with us.
Starting point is 01:02:49 Right. I feel like, you know, if... It's no need for nobody to be mad at nothing. Like, it's like pointless because we all are different. I feel like it'd be the fans more so than anybody.
Starting point is 01:03:00 Like, they keep it up more than the actual artists. Right. And they got the world thinking like something that's not happening. Right. And they got the world thinking, like, something that's not happening. Right. Because I remember one time it was, like,
Starting point is 01:03:08 Hot Girl or something or City Girl or something. And I'm like... I'm like, please, God. It's not giving none of that. It is so bad. Bitch, you're pregnant. Well, f*** it.
Starting point is 01:03:15 So I'm like, what are we talking about? It's not giving none of that. All right. Well... I wonder if she feels the same way because wasn't she upset
Starting point is 01:03:23 with the baby doing the record with Tory Lanez? Allegedly. We don't know for real what happened, but allegedly, yeah. And I remember Partisan Fontaine commented on it, too. Yeah, so that's what I thought. So I wonder how that works. Because she did a record with, what, Cardi and Nicki,
Starting point is 01:03:40 and DaBaby did a record with Tory and her, you know? I mean, not to... There was an act of physical violence in the Cardi-Nikki thing. Not to the extreme of what is alleged to have happened between Tori and Meg, but there was violence between them, right? Between Cardi and Nikki.
Starting point is 01:03:57 Yeah. Yeah, there was a shoe thrown or something, right? I don't know. Alright, well that is your rumor report. All right, thank you, Miss E. Charlamagne, who you giving that down on K2? Ah, man, four minutes after the hour, we need to talk about why you should never make a permanent decision
Starting point is 01:04:14 based off temporary feelings. We'll discuss. All right, we'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Come on in. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. Unjunk your sleep at Mattress Firm's best Labor Day sale ever.
Starting point is 01:04:28 Get a king bed for the price of a queen or a queen for the price of a twin. And save up to $700 on select mattresses from top brands. Visit a store near you today. Charlemagne, say the game. Don't get out of shape. Charlemagne. You are a donkey. It's time for Donkey of the Day. Donkey of the Day does not discriminate. I might not have the song of the day, but I got the donkey of the day.
Starting point is 01:04:53 So if you ever feel I need to be a donkey, man, hit it with the heat. It's a breakfast club, bitches. Who's donkey of the day today? Well, donkey of the day for Friday, August 26th. Let me make sure it's friday august 26th yes it is uh goes to an australian woman named jay langadinos uh she is 31 years old and she is suing a psychiatrist for approving a gender transition after just one meeting yes she transitioned to male before realizing it was a mistake. And now she's suing a psychiatrist for approving her female to male hormone treatment after just one meeting. You know, we are always told in life to measure twice.
Starting point is 01:05:34 So we only have to cut once. I would think, you know, nowhere would that be more true than when someone is contemplating gender reassignment surgery. I know you might be thinking, well, it's female to male hormone treatment so nothing to be cut but that's not true because jay is upset that the psychiatrist uh approved gender transition and the fact that the psychiatrist signed off on two surgeries to remove her breast and uterus uh so therefore things do get removed okay now let me explain some details it was 19 when she first met dr. Patrick Toohey, a better psychiatrist in Sydney, Australia. Jay is now 31 and she was introduced to the doctor to determine if she was suitable for a transition. Now, this is what the specialist Dr. Patrick Toohey wrote that Jay was very young and needed a throughout psychiatric workup before embarking on her own treatment. That's the clinical way of saying she was too young to be doing this and she might change her mind later.
Starting point is 01:06:29 So don't let her do this until she's old enough to make a more educated choice because right now she could be making a permanent decision based off temporary feelings. But after his first meeting with the teen, Toohey concluded that Jay suffered from gender dyssorphia and was fit for testosterone therapy I had to look up with that uh disor this for fear word was that's just a click I think I print and now I don't think it's this more feel it says this dysphoria they don't say this more feel it might be just more people maybe they
Starting point is 01:06:57 missed a m I don't know but I had to look up what that was but that's just a clinical way of saying she feels like she's in the wrong body there is a mismatch between their biological sex and their gender identity now well next time jay went to go see dr tui she told him she was eager to undergo top surgery to have her breast surgically removed as part of her transition so tui approved the double mastectomy and they got rid of the tatas okay a month later jay met with tui for the third and final time to discuss having her uterus removed.
Starting point is 01:07:28 Now, the doctor, according to the lawsuit, wrote that he could find no reason to not proceed with the hysterectomy, so she got cleared to get her power U removed. Now, nearly a decade later, Jay, who no longer identifies as a male, is suing the doctor for professional negligence she says it's the doctor's fault for green lighting hormone therapy even after she told him she suffered from social social phobia and she alleges that he was negligent and not reminding not recommending she get a second opinion ahead ahead of her hysterectomy. Okay. Even though the doctor strongly recommended that Jay seek social and family
Starting point is 01:08:06 therapy, but Jay chose not to listen. She chose not to heed that recommendation. And the doctor still gave her what she asked for. Now, Jay is suing. Wow. Jay said in 2016,
Starting point is 01:08:18 four years after the surgery, when she started receiving psychiatric treatment from another doctor is when she came to the realization that she should not have undergone the hormone therapy uh are the first and second surgery so let me get this straight at 19 you come to me as a woman tell me that you're really a man i tell you go talk to a psychiatrist you don't take my recommendation and then persist to insist on the surgery and later on in life when you don't when you do go seek psychiatric treatment and realize you're not who you thought you was and you was who you was before you got here and decided to have surgery now it's my fault you want to sue me in the court documents jay argued that too he should have
Starting point is 01:08:54 realized she might be autistic and referred her for further treatment how the hell am i supposed to know if you autistic you you asking too much of me as a doctor because truth be told i'm sure it's a bunch of doctors when people come in for gender transition they would like to diagnose a lot of these cases as psychological disorders but if they did that i guarantee you it would be a problem i guarantee it would be people complaining saying i should be able to go into a doctor and request a sex change without a doctor labeling me as having a mental disorder when the reality is we all know nobody should be making such a permanent decision at that young of an age come on people 19 years old and you want to renovate the whole car jay said in a statement that the hormones and surgeries that she requested left her suffering from injuries disabilities and
Starting point is 01:09:39 complications including early menopause anxiety and depression impaired psychological functioning and diminished capacity for employment employment ma'am you requested this you requested this and now that you changed your mind you want to sue the doctor who did the surgery come on man now wait there's a little more jay felt when she was 17 something was wrong with her because she was attracted to girls so she went online and read about gender dysphoria so she decided that what she that's what she had and she must be transgender because of this of the discomfort that she had in her body hmm or maybe you're just a lesbian maybe you're just attracted to women the fact that she thought the source of her distress was not being a man is only because she had the option you know to be other things we might be throwing too much at these kids we may
Starting point is 01:10:27 have to shorten the menu a little i mean damn when you present kids with 68 different gender identities i can see how this can be confusing to some but one thing's for sure two things for certain the doctor should not be held liable for any of this jay you made a choice and that's what life is a matter of choices and every choice you make makes you so what's the solution? I don't know. I just know that when you're 19 regardless of if it's a sex change or any other matter Just give yourself some time before you rush to any life-altering decisions Okay, i'm reading the timeline of some of these choices into me None of this should have happened this fast fast but you have to live with your choices
Starting point is 01:11:05 we are what we choose to be some choices we regret some will haunt us forever some choices we're proud of i know you're living with regret right now but that's life i don't have anything else other than you know this is a prime example of why you shouldn't make permanent decisions based off temporary feelings. Please give Jay Len Gadinos the sweet sounds of the Hamilton's. Oh, now you are the donkey of the day. You are the donkey of the day. Yee-haw. Yee-haw.
Starting point is 01:11:46 Yee-haw. All right. Well, thank you for that dunk. Do y'all think that doctors should be held liable in this situation? No. Nope. Not at all. No.
Starting point is 01:11:54 No. She made choices. Exactly. Not at all. All right. Well, this Saturday is Angela Yee Day, and she has a bunch of performances and a bunch of things going on at her Angela Yee Day.
Starting point is 01:12:06 Yes, it's a lot of Caribbean vibes. The West Indian American Day Parade is happening next week. And coming up next, we got Bungee Garland and Fean Lyons. They are royalty from Trinidad and Tobago, and they'll be performing as well, doing some amazing soka, but they fuse it with a lot of other things too. Maybe you guys have heard Afro Soka as well. And so amazing soca, but they fuse it with a lot of other things, too. Maybe you guys have heard Afro-soca as well, and so
Starting point is 01:12:28 we'll get into it. They're a married couple, too, by the way. All right, and we'll talk to them next. Don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Bungie, Garland, and Fayan. Did I say your name right? Fayan. Fayan. Fayan. I'll take it. Fayan. Well, welcome. Thank you. Don't just say it's okay. Correct this man. I did. I corrected it. but welcome thank you don't just say it's okay
Starting point is 01:12:45 correct this man I did I corrected it I'm so accustomed it's normal but welcome thank you and they are a married couple
Starting point is 01:12:54 and so I love that and the story because you guys both come from musical families yeah you know as well but you knew Bungie before he knew you
Starting point is 01:13:02 right that's correct that's correct my dad was like the biggest Bungie fan ever knew you, right? That's correct. That's correct. My dad was like the biggest Bungie fan ever. So every single day in the house was Bungie, Bungie, Bungie, Bungie, Bungie, Bungie. And I was like, who's this guy? And he's like, you got to meet him.
Starting point is 01:13:15 I met him. He wasn't very nice. Why weren't you that nice? He was a little standoffish. He was just, he was like, nice to meet you. Can we get a picture? Sure. And then he left and I was like.
Starting point is 01:13:26 It was one of those things where in the presence of her father, it didn't want to look like. It would be disrespectful. Yeah, yeah. So it was like, nice to meet you. Not too much eye contact and things like that. Did y'all have to sneak around so he didn't know at first? No.
Starting point is 01:13:40 I mean, when I met him, I was like 19. So then when I started professionally singing and I met him, I was like 19. So then when I started professionally singing, then I met him again. He didn't recognize me because I was like a whole different. I saw you said you pulled over in the car on the side of the road to listen to her song on the radio. Yeah. Actually, it was my first hearing of her musically.
Starting point is 01:14:04 And the way the song was done And the way the song was done, the way the production was done, even the flow of the song, it wasn't usual for what you would hear a female in the culture, in soca music, doing. Because, of course, we spent so many years... Anyone who knows the culture of Trinidad and Tobago and the music,
Starting point is 01:14:23 the women were always presented as eye candy. Always just to be sexy and, you know, just to be seen and not really heard. And she just approached from a whole different direction. That was kind of, it was more like street. So it was like, yo, what is this? It was very unusual. And that, I just put, it made me, I was driving when it happened. And I pulled the vehicle on the side of the road to really listen to it. Because I couldn't focus while driving listening to that. It was really something different for me at the time.
Starting point is 01:14:53 And I was really, really glad to experience something like that. I think that, too, is what made me really wanted to see, hey, who's this? Who's this? Who's this? And then she had that picture of y'all. Like, remember? So, tell them about your father though because he was an icon and that's
Starting point is 01:15:07 why of course I'm sure Bungie was like I'm not you know high by and I was his biggest fan as well at the same time when my dad is when you say Soca music you say Superblue so that's his super key he's the one that revolutionized
Starting point is 01:15:23 the Soca industry because before Soka had a nice beat it the Calypso vibe what he did was he put jump and wave wine flag that party aggression atmosphere
Starting point is 01:15:33 I mean like he climbed scaffoldings and he would perform from the rafters and all this sort of madness he brought that whole costume and vibe like you dress like Spiderman you dress like Superman and go on stage and his songs were more energetic
Starting point is 01:15:45 and he actually brought the party aspect that all of us in the industry are actually doing today. Yeah. He created that. The first really
Starting point is 01:15:53 jump and wave song was Get Something and Wave and after that, everybody started incorporating it in the music and he was the first one to really speed up
Starting point is 01:16:01 the music because it was like da-da-da-da round man go-go-go and then, yeah. And then he literally he was the first one to really speed up the music because it was like da da da da round man you have a lot of other firsts too and then he he literally
Starting point is 01:16:09 turned what we would normally have as a nice calypso type thing so called column
Starting point is 01:16:17 music at one speed and put it into something that we call power soca today so there's groovy soca which is the slower version and then there's
Starting point is 01:16:24 power soca which is the mad aggressive groovy soaker, which is the slower version, and then there's power soaker, which is the mad, aggressive, That's the version I like. Oh, yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Everybody know the madness. How do you feel about you getting into this business?
Starting point is 01:16:34 Because like you said, the women were eye candy. They weren't necessarily the ones performing and not even getting the respect that they could have gotten. It wasn't a lot of women paving the way like that.
Starting point is 01:16:45 So was he concerned for you being in this? Oh, yeah, he was. He was very concerned. I mean, the industry was male-dominated. And at the end of the day, I think he was more concerned because I was not willing to conform. I was like, I don't care what you're doing. I don't care how you're dressing. I don't care because it was more shiny stuff
Starting point is 01:17:03 and people wasn't into wearing what I wore. So I would come on with the crop tops and the really, really ridiculous little jeans and sneakers. That's not what women wore. They wore the candy for boots and they would wear these sequined body suits. I was like, nah, I ain't doing none of that.
Starting point is 01:17:20 I'm coming to be me. So I bought regular. I went on with coveralls and tongues and all this other stuff and made it really relatable to people who wasn't into carnival for that kind of shiny, shiny stuff. But they loved the music and they loved the culture. Right. And then I was like, you know, I was in my early 20s,
Starting point is 01:17:39 so I was very rebellious. So you could not tell me that that's how I had to dress. What did your dad say about you dating an artist? No dating an artist no no I was dating an artist he loved you get no objection no parents if parents likes the guy yeah it's you they'll be watching like you better not mess up that's what that's what your dad told you yeah he was like oh like you was gonna I like him You know He I think he's more My dad's Child than I am
Starting point is 01:18:08 Really Oh big time Big time If both of us Was in trouble And he had to pick one He had to pick him 100%
Starting point is 01:18:15 Oh boy Does he also know That you could fend for yourself Just because No he He loves him He loves him Like he's
Starting point is 01:18:23 It's So y'all can't never break up? No. No. No, I'm telling you what I think. She can't break up. She's dead. The pop's just dead.
Starting point is 01:18:32 No, but you see, the universe evens itself out because his mom loves me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so she would pick you over him. Yeah, so he took my dad and I took his mom. So it's like, okay, cool. All right, we got more with Bungie, Garland, and Fayan. Lions, when we come back, it's like okay cool all right we got more with bungee garland and fayenne lions when we come back it's the breakfast club good morning morning everybody it's dj envy angela yee charlamagne the guy we are the breakfast club we're still kicking it with fayenne and bungee
Starting point is 01:18:54 garland yee are you guys like the first you know soka couple um there was there was um carlin carl jacob years ago in soka yes but in so. But in Soka, they were in Calypso. They were in Calypso. Yeah, but there's... They were like the first music couple in Trinidad, like that, right? But in Soka, I don't think much people was getting married. Yeah. Yeah, he was doing his party and jump up and wave wine
Starting point is 01:19:17 and get his enjoy himself. Yeah, no, it's true. Very true, very true, very true. Yeah, I mean, people didn't see the ability to get married and do music. Have you seen our carnival? It's kind of hard for... I was just talking about that with Nadine suddenly.
Starting point is 01:19:31 You have to be a special type of people to be able to participate in that and then don't lose your focus and don't lose your house. And that's us. So if you can do that, hip hip hooray, but not everybody has that sort of compulsion. Y'all need a TV show or something. It's coming. Is it really?
Starting point is 01:19:52 No, no, I just... You just have to put it in. Put it in the atmosphere. Build it and it'll come. Yeah, that's it. I agree. I agree 100%. We appreciate you guys for joining us.
Starting point is 01:20:02 And I'm so excited. And again, I just want to thank you so much. I'm really looking forward to Angela Yee Day. I know you are going to tear it down. So, I'm hyped. Now, I did ask Nadine Sutherland, can guys whine?
Starting point is 01:20:15 I do not want to whine. I can't even dance, so I'm not even going to try. What do you mean if can guys whine? Isn't native You're supposed to I'm just asking Have you ever tried?
Starting point is 01:20:28 Me? Yeah Of course Can you? No You can do it Why not? I just let my wife do it
Starting point is 01:20:33 I just stand there I just stand there He's just like this But that's so non-Caribbean though I'm not Caribbean I'm a Yankee My wife is Jamaican We need to fix that
Starting point is 01:20:42 I thought you was from Dominica I'm a little bit Dominica But I'm more Yankee. But that's how kids born. I do two-step. That's how kids are born, Wyman. I go forward, boom, boom, and I can't go to the side. We can fix that.
Starting point is 01:20:55 I got six kids, so I know how to go forward. I just decide. I know, but probably if we help you, you might have 12. Nah, see, I don't know. I haven't got some dead knees. They're definitely going to do it. But we appreciate you. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much. They're definitely going to do it. We appreciate you. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:21:06 Thank you. Thank you so much. You just made everybody want to go to Carnival again. They should come. They should come, definitely. This Saturday, Angel E Day. Get out there early. What time does it start, Yeezy?
Starting point is 01:21:15 It's from 12 to 5. Let's go. 12 to 5. It's free for everybody. Everything is absolutely free. Food, activities for the kids, and of course, the performances, which is my favorite part. Oh, you just spoke Western Indian. Free. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:26 You love it? It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this.
Starting point is 01:21:45 It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Starting point is 01:22:01 Why can't I create my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warheads. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets.
Starting point is 01:22:16 Bullets. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.

No, there's nobody out there that can Hov or mess it over. No way. The thing about Hov is that he really doesn't do a lot of talking about his private life outside his music. Therefore, it makes verses like this an event.
Starting point is 01:27:28 And it's like a lot in that verse to unpack. But to touch on one thing, it's something we don't discuss enough. And that's his relationship with his crew, like the Tatas and the Emerys and the OG1s and Beehives. These brothers you hear him referencing his music. Because it's just a crew of men who said, this man right here is gifted. He's the guy. Let's get behind him and make sure he's in position and it'll put us all in position do you know how hard it is to do that amongst men as fragile as the male ego is everybody want to be the guy instead of supporting the guy for all of them to have the confidence to say no this is our

Well, I need one. You might not. I need one. Why not? Booker Hove gotta be the name of the new album. Well, I need one. You might not. I need one. Why not?
