Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Hey y'all, Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Executive produced by Questlove, The Story Pirates, and John Glickman, Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Flash, slam, another one gone. Bash, bam, another one gone. The crack of the bat and another one gone. The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was Claudette Colvin. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, 1974. George Foreman was champion of the world. Ali was smart and he was handsome. The story behind The Rumble in the Jungle is like a Hollywood movie. But that is only half the story. There's also James Brown, Bill Withers, B.B. King, Miriam Akiba.
Starting point is 00:02:02 All the biggest black artists on the planet. Together in Africa. It was a big deal. Listen to Rumble, Ali, Foreman, and the Soul of 74 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Wake up in the morning, you gonna wake up in the morning. I'm talking right now. You're about to experience a morning show unlike any of you.
Starting point is 00:02:25 Shout out to the Breakfast Club. I hope to see y'all every morning. What you guys are doing right now is the hub culture. The Breakfast Club is my morning sit. I need it and I love it so much. I feel like you're really not popping until you do the Breakfast Club. I've been waiting to come to y'all's show, man. I know you got to be a big time celebrity to be up in here.
Starting point is 00:02:43 You got to be big time. DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God. The Breakfast Club, bitches. Break the f*** up. Good morning, USA. Guess what day it is? Guess what day it is? Hump Day? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Yes, it's Hump Day. Good morning, everybody. It's Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:03:31 Good morning, guys. How y'all feeling today? Good morning. Man, I couldn't sleep last night. Why not? Why? I just couldn't. Like, I think it's because I took my vitamins too late,
Starting point is 00:03:42 and when I do that, it makes me stay up way longer than I want to. And I was up till like two something in the morning. Really? Yeah. And I was just saying how it's been easy for me to go to sleep. I got in bed at 1030. Like I'm going to bed early. I was excited.
Starting point is 00:03:55 And then I was just laying there. Why don't you take a little CBD oil? CBD oil will knock you right out. Have you sleeping like a baby? Yeah, that's one thing I would say. This quarantine has me going to sleep. Like, I go to sleep at regular hours now. It's no longer late nights.
Starting point is 00:04:09 It's 10 o'clock. If there's nothing going on, ain't no battles on or nothing like that, I'm knocked out. Yeah, I can't say I go to sleep at regular hours. I go to sleep a little bit later. And then last night, because I don't know why I've been on TV heavy this week, but last night I decided to watch Training Day, and I went to bed angry because I just realized at the end of Training Day
Starting point is 00:04:26 all them dudes sold Alonzo out, man. I thought it was a new flick, Training Day. You went back and watched the old Training Day. Is it Training Day now? No, man. I went to sleep pissed off because I'm like, yo, all of these brothers from the hood literally sold out
Starting point is 00:04:41 Alonzo for the white cop, Hoyt. Alonzo was doing 30, though. Man, bumped that. Literally sold him out, man. Wouldn't kill Hoyt. Didn't actually pull the gun and put it to Alonzo and told Hoyt,
Starting point is 00:04:54 get up out of here, homie. Like, God damn, man. You know it was a movie, though. Yeah, but it did piss me off. It never affected me like that before. You are aware. Last night, I was highly upset. My goodness. Last night, I was highly upset. My goodness.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Last night, I was highly upset. I actually went to bed angry. Like, why would they do that? Like, why? You know, just telling you it was a movie. I don't know if you know. Just, you know, it was a movie. He's going to flip out on the brother like that
Starting point is 00:05:15 in front of his wife and his kid? My goodness. Jesus Christ. All right. Well, it was a movie, Charlemagne. Well, let's get the show cracking. Nina Turner will be joining us this morning. Senator Nina Turner.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Senator Nina Turner has been a surrogate for, you know, Senator Bernie Sanders for a very long time. And I love Senator Nina Turner because she speaks truth to power. So I would love to hear what she has to say about the goings on of the week as far as Senator Sanders endorsing endorsing Vice President Joe Biden. Okay, so we're going to kick it with her. Then we got front page news. What are we talking about, Yee?
Starting point is 00:05:52 Well, now Barack Obama has finally endorsed Joe Biden. I know he's been waiting to endorse whoever was going to be the nominee, so we'll tell you what he said. Alright, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Everybody, it's DJ Envy. Angela Yee.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Where we starting, Yee? Well, let's start with Barack Obama formally endorsing Biden for president in a video message that has been posted. Here is that endorsement. I'm so proud to endorse Joe Biden for President of the United States.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Choosing Joe to be my vice president was one of the best decisions I ever made, and he became a close friend. And I believe Joe has all the qualities we need in a president right now. Joe has the character and the experience to guide us through one of our darkest times and heal us through a long recovery. And I know he'll surround himself with good people and know how to work with our allies and who will always put the American people's interests above their own. It's great that he adores Biden. Stuff like that matters for a candidate like Joe Biden because Joe Biden is so uninspiring. So you have to pay attention to who he has around him.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Like Van Jones said, he's Hawkeye and he needs the Avengers. So I'm glad the Black Panther gave a good endorsement. But does it matter? It seems like it was like, well, he's the only one left. I mean, I got to endorse somebody. So I guess it's going to be him. He's always said that he would wait until he finds out who the nominee is to put his support behind that person. That's not a whack, though.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Yeah, that's not good. When it's a field of people and you say, well, I'm going to wait to see who the nominee is instead of actually getting somebody, that's not... I guess he didn't want to sway people too much in case whoever he endorsed didn't become the nominee. Yeah, but it's who he believed in. That's like a fight and just wait until after the end of the fight
Starting point is 00:07:41 and be like, yeah, well, you know, I think Tyson was going to win. I picked him. He already won. He already beat the other guys. That was mad. That's cool. Like he said, though, he'll surround himself with good people. That's the most important thing to listen to, especially if you think Joe Biden is uninspiring like I do.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Well, here's what else Barack Obama had to say during his endorsement of Joe Biden. The Republicans occupying the White House and running the U.S. Senate are not interested in progress. They're interested in power. Repeatedly, they've disregarded American principles of rule of law and voting rights and transparency, basic norms that previous administrations observed regardless of party,
Starting point is 00:08:23 principles that are the bedrock of our democracy the other side has a massive war chest the other side has a propaganda network with little regard for the truth on the other hand pandemics have a way of cutting through a lot of noise and spin to remind us of what is real and what is important you know i like what he said about cutting through because speaking of cutting through it it's amazing how things Joe Biden does do not cut through. Like this week, Biden released a plan to reopen the country safely to the New York Times after Corona, which I thought was good. He had an endorsement from Bernie Sanders and he had an endorsement from President Obama. And it's like the media doesn't care. Like you turn CNN on, all you see is Cuomo and Trump.
Starting point is 00:09:02 That's it. It's almost like Cuomo is running and not Biden. And if you think that's not going to impact voting in November, you're crazy. Top of the mind awareness is everything. Period. All right. Well, according to reports, the U.S. may have to endure social distancing, like staying at home and school closures until 2022. That's what researchers are projecting unless a vaccine becomes quickly available. Those are researchers from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. They published their findings in the Journal of Science on Tuesday. They're also saying that universities are considering the possibility of canceling in-person classes until 2021.
Starting point is 00:09:40 So we will see what's going to happen. If that happens, you that happens you're gonna see a lot of your favorite artists a lot of your favorite singers your favorite producers a lot of your favorite everything they're gonna be very it's gonna be hurting because the fact that they can't go out and perform they can't make money you're gonna see you're gonna see a lot of your favorite favorite people very very hurt by this and affected by it a lot well they are yeah they already said concerts not gonna start back till 2021 so like i said man you're gonna see a lot of artists selling fashion nova and fashion nova gonna be having them selling it for the low what fashion over
Starting point is 00:10:13 charging now you what to uh it's pretty cheap that's why people like it oh to advertise i think it depends on who you are it depends on who you are and then a lot of people get a percentage so they get their own code and then they get a percentage. A lot of percentages. For the low. For the low. All right. Oh, and I don't know if y'all saw this story,
Starting point is 00:10:34 but a guy thought he was getting his stimulus check for $1,700 and he ended up getting $8.2 million in his bank account on Friday. Yeah, I seen that. Yeah, he didn't touch that, though. Yeah, he didn't touch that. He was like, nah, B, I know what this is. He didn't touch that one. It wasn't really that. He waited for money to call on Friday. Yeah, I seen that. Yeah, he didn't touch that, though. Yeah, he didn't touch that. He was like, nah, B, I know what this is. He didn't touch that one. It wasn't really that.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Yeah, he waited for money to call the bank. Yeah. Well, it was on his ATM. When you look at the printout of your money in the bank, it was on there. But he said it kind of sucks. You go from being a millionaire one second, then back to being broke again.
Starting point is 00:11:00 It said he had $13 in his account when he called the bank. But I will say that receipt is a good flex for Instagram. I hope he at least posted it on Instagram and got some likes for it. Oh, my goodness. That's a nice little flex for the gram. Yeah. All right. Well, that is your front page news.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired?
Starting point is 00:11:29 Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy.
Starting point is 00:11:39 There are 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe owned country.
Starting point is 00:11:55 My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets.
Starting point is 00:12:08 We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. You know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout? Well, that's when the real magic happens. So if you love hearing real, inspiring stories from the people you know, follow, and admire, join me every week for Post Run High. It's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all. It's lighthearted, pretty crazy, and very fun.
Starting point is 00:13:19 Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So y'all, this is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out. Hey y'all, Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called
Starting point is 00:13:59 Historical Records. Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was Claudette Colvin. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history you have to make some noise listen to historical records on the iHeartRadio app
Starting point is 00:14:52 apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts this is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Hi. So, I work at the airport.
Starting point is 00:15:14 My name is Kim. I work at the airport in California. They are ghost towns. That's my daughter in the background. I'm on my way to take her to my mom's house right now while I'm getting ready to go to work. And it's pretty much they're ghost towns. We are taking precautions to wear masks and stuff and wear gloves. They sanitize everything.
Starting point is 00:15:43 And I mean everything. Would you think it's safe to fly right now? if you're going if you have to if it's a real emergency that you have to fly then it is what it is I've been seeing a lot of I'm the last person you see before you get on a plane
Starting point is 00:16:00 I'm the one that takes your tickets and it's been more of like medical workers, especially coming from California, going out to New York to help, to volunteer. And even when we have like 20 passengers, I always make sure I thank them for flying with us because it's keeping us afloat. I thank the medical workers for flying with us.
Starting point is 00:16:22 There was a picture floating around not too long ago that it was a team of medical workers on a flight going to New York from Atlanta. And, like, that really did touch my heart. So we're all in this together. Medical workers, transportation people, sanitizers, whatever. We're all in this together. So that's pretty much it. I really appreciate y'all taking my call. Alex, say hi.
Starting point is 00:16:52 Hi. Hey. Hey, Alex. We appreciate all your work, man. We appreciate you going to work and holding it down and making sure those workers could get here. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:17:00 And can't wait till we can fly them friendly skies again. Aren't there some airlines that are letting the healthcare workers fly for free, right? Yep. Hello, who's this? This is Buddy. Hey, Buddy, get it off your chest, bro. I'm at work right now, man. I just want to
Starting point is 00:17:13 talk about how the unemployed people are making more money than the essential workers out here, man. Yo, it's funny. We were just talking about that. Yeah, our boy, Drom, just said that. A lot of people, and it's not an outrage that I'm expecting
Starting point is 00:17:27 to see about it, but a relative of mine called me yesterday and said he's making $900 a week and he's not even looking for a job. $900?
Starting point is 00:17:35 Where's that? Where does he live? Yeah, what state you in? In Atlanta. Wow. Yeah, our boy, Apdram, told us that in New York
Starting point is 00:17:42 it's $600 and in LA it's like $1050. I think he's thinking about quitting. You get an additional $600 for unemployment. I make over $20 an hour and I'm not bringing in that much money out to taxes. Well, I will tell you, I think a lot of people would much rather be employed. I know it sounds good now, but after that four months is up, I think you'd still rather have a job.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Yeah, but still, that's a lot of bread though, bro. Yeah, $9. He's not even looking for a job. Yeah. But still, that's a lot of bread, though, bro. Yeah. We're not even looking for a job. We're playing 2K. Damn. Getting ready for 420. Yeah. Shout out to y'all, man. I appreciate y'all doing what y'all do, man. Thank you, brother. Appreciate you. Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:18:20 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Let's go. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. Say it with your chest.
Starting point is 00:18:34 We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. So if you got something on your mind, let it out. Hello, who's this? This is Shay. Hey, Shay, get it off your chest, Shay. Hi, guys. I listen to you guys every morning. I love you guys. Hey, Shay. Get it off your chest, Shay. Hi, guys. I listen to you guys every morning. I love you guys.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Oh, thank you so much. Thank you, Shay. Well, getting off my chest, this COVID thing opened up some stuff in my relationship. And I'm going to be going through a divorce. What? What happened? So, yes, we keep hearing that it's been tough on relationships. So, what exactly went down?
Starting point is 00:19:08 Well, it's the quarantine. You're supposed to be home. And if you're out at night, where are you? You're quarantined with somebody else. He's leaving the crib at night? That is a fact. Lord have mercy. Is he an essential worker?
Starting point is 00:19:20 No. I mean, well, he is, but not at night. Hey, please tell me the excuses this nigga be using. Come on, come on. Humor me real quick. What he be saying? Where he be saying he going? Well, supposedly he's not doing anything.
Starting point is 00:19:32 He's just hanging out. He can't do nothing, so why can't he just go by his friend's house? But, I mean, like, unless you're gay, why are you at your friend's house overnight? Will he think you some type of fool? Come on now. Maybe he praying. He really does. He's not praying. I counted the days.
Starting point is 00:19:44 It's like four nights in a row. That's disrespectful. Four o'clock in the morning, seven o'clock in the morning. I mean, the most disrespectful thing is not that, not that, I mean, it is the cheating if he is cheating, but it's also the fact that he's putting your life at risk and your health at risk because all of y'all supposed to be quarantining. Damn. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:02 What's the point of you quarantining if he out all the time? And they're real sick. And yeah, I don't. That's why he told me he can't come back. Did you have any idea before this that you thought he was doing anything, cheating at all? Okay, I'm not going to act like I'm stupid because I did have like little inklings, but never no proof or solid evidence. But this is it. What's wrong with your nose?
Starting point is 00:20:24 What's wrong with your nose? Why you ain't sniffing no d*** when you come home? What? What? Is that what you do, Charlamagne? Like, what are you talking about? It cannot be reduced to that. That's the old school way of doing things. Why you ain't smelling no penis when you come home to see what the hell makes you...
Starting point is 00:20:38 A whole town, they be washing up before they come home. Right. Wow. They bring the same soap they use at home. And make sure that... You got a smell for the soap? You know what freshly scented penis smell like, and you know what penis that been out all day smell like. Come on, now.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Like you been here before. All day. He come home from work, and be at normal, everything, like cook dinner, everything, and then like, he's like, oh, I gotta go make this drop off real quick. And then just never came home.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Is he a drug dealer? Now, see, you ain't say that. You're leaving out some very vital information. Is he the weed man? Yeah. All right, now, come on, stop. Don't do that. The man is going to make runs at a time like this.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Four nights in a row. 10.30. You did not come home until 5 o'clock in the morning. Like, what do you mean? Do you understand that everybody is at home right now? People want to smoke. He making them runs. 420 is what?
Starting point is 00:21:35 420 is popping up. That's right. You can't come back. You have to come back for more if you've gone for that long. Well, let me tell you something. I need his phone number because I need to drop off a 420. Oh, my goodness. Thank you, Mama.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Does he have edibles? I'm dead serious. I ain't even playing. Don't get off the phone now. I ain't trying to sell edibles. I need some edibles. I ain't even going to lie to you. Do that, Mama.
Starting point is 00:21:57 You're going to be cheating with Charlemagne now. All right. Get it off your chest. 888-585-1051. If you need to vent, you can hit us up at any time. Yvi, got rumors on the way? Yes, but we'll talk about some good things that could be happening for people. We'll tell you about something that's been happening online and on social media that could be brought to television now.
Starting point is 00:22:18 All right, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Swizz and Timbo.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Listen up. It's just in. All the gossip. Gossip. The Rumor Report. Gossip. Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's The Rumor Report. The Breakfast Club. Yes, Swizz and Timbaland, they were on TMZ Live, and one thing they were talking about is their Versus Battles, the very popular IG Live program that started very organically,
Starting point is 00:22:53 that Swizz Beatz and Timbaland set it off. Well, they're saying that there's a lot of interest from TV networks here, is what Timbaland had to say. You know, a lot of people contact me and Swizz, you know, on a lot of things, but right now we just want to keep it for the culture because it's so organic. We don't want to bring that part of the element in right away. We just want to keep it where people are entertained because, you know, we live in a world where 16 million people lost jobs. Like we don't want to get into all the politics of it. We want to keep it natural and fun. And then later on, as life continues
Starting point is 00:23:26 and we get out of this pandemic, we can, you know, further discuss where we go with it. I don't believe it would hit the same on TV. I don't believe it would hit the same if it was all produced. I don't even think it would hit the same if it was a concert. IG is a beautiful place to have that versus battle. And I think the interaction with people, you know, being in the comments and being able to talk,
Starting point is 00:23:48 that adds a great element to it. But you know what? It would still, as long as they clear it up, if they could just do it in a way where they clear the audio, because sometimes the audio is a little shaky and faulty. Right, the video goes out. But you keep it the same, but you just clear it up a little bit where you can hear it better and they can talk to each other better.
Starting point is 00:24:04 I think it'll work. Yeah, but a lot of us know those songs anyway. Because, you know, the Versus Battle is really about nostalgia more than anything. It's about, oh, shoot, that was my joint. There's a lot of young people who don't know the song, so they get to know what hits the most. And it's also a great way for people to be exposed to things that they don't know. So for the kids listening, they're like, oh, I never heard that before.
Starting point is 00:24:26 Audio's trash sometimes, though. Yeah, the audio's just trash sometimes. Then imagine it being on TV and you got to go to commercial every five, ten minutes. Like, nah, it's not a good TV play. It could be on cable with no commercials. It could be on like Starz or Showtime or HBO. I think it'll whack it out. I don't think it's a good TV play at all.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Some things aren't. Everything isn't for TV. I think they could probably develop into something, but we'll see. Now, let's discuss some other good things that are happening. Kevin Hart, Justin Bieber, Magic Johnson, Michael Rubin, they're
Starting point is 00:24:56 all going to be donating, and that is for the COVID-19 relief. Here is what Michael Rubin had to say. I want you to donate one of your most prized possessions or create a once in a lifetime fan experience that money can't buy. We're going to take those items. We're going to auction off most of them. And a few of them, we're going to have people donate $10 and $25 for a chance to win some of these incredible experiences. 100% of the money
Starting point is 00:25:22 raised is going to go toward making a real impact on the issues that we're currently facing, on feeding people and these really difficult hunger issues. Now, what's going on here? What is this about? It's the All In Challenge. So basically people are donating some of their items and that's going to be for charity and then people get to bid on them. So we saw Meek Mill was already auctioning off his car. And I know a lot of people were excited about that one.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Right, Envy? How much is that worth? That car, it's a Rolls Royce Phantom 2018 brand new. It's probably about $460,000. But this is what I'm confused about. The starting bid is $200,000. So who bids? Like who's the people that are doing the bidding?
Starting point is 00:26:06 Well, obviously, there's going to be some athletes and some people that make a lot of money because nobody's going to be, you know, no regular person is going to bid $200,000 on a car, but it's got to be athletes. That's just for that. There's other things that you can bid on also. Like, you can bid on an opportunity to be in a Kevin Hart movie. And then it's for 10 opportunities. It's $10. If you want to put in 25 bids, it's $25 and so on.
Starting point is 00:26:29 And see, that's what I was confused about. I'm like, okay, so people donate and do they, like, do you win the Phantom? Do you win your guy's watch? You're bidding. It's an auction. So you're bidding on these items. I wonder if it's in reserve. Because, like, can you just bid?
Starting point is 00:26:45 Let's say you're the only person that bid $200,000. So you buy a $200,000 Phantom for $400,000? I mean, a $400,000 Phantom for $200,000? Who got $200,000 is what I'm saying. Can regular people bid? Can I just bid $5 and win a Phantom? No, you start to $200,000. The starting bid is $200,000.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Everything is not that expensive. I'm so confused about this challenge. So think about people who are donating, right, to different causes right now. This is an auction. So instead of just donating $200,000, you can say, I want to bid on this, and that money does still go to charity, but then you also end up walking away with a car.
Starting point is 00:27:17 So really, it's me and Mill donating that item. So for that, but then there's things you can bid on for $10, and that's for 10 opportunities to win an opportunity to get a private skateboarding lesson with Tony Hawk and things like that. So it's all different price points and different, different things that you can win, but it's celebrities donating these items or these experiences and then you bid on them. That makes sense. So, yeah, so could be a great opportunity for somebody depending on, uh, you know, what it is that you
Starting point is 00:27:44 want to bid on. But I think that's great. And for Meek Mill to donate that car is the Rolls Royce Phantom. That's amazing. That's dope. All right. Amy Schumer had to change her son's name because she realized that his name sounded like genital. You know, she had a baby with Dave Attell, the comedian, and she named her son Gene.
Starting point is 00:28:04 And that means his name is Genital. And it sounds like genital. So she admitted that. That's funny. She did have to change his name, you know. Or maybe she should have put a little Haitian on it, named him John. Jonatel.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Then it would have been Jonatel. Jonatels. Yeah, Jonatel instead of Genital. Just put a little Haitian on it, Amy. That's all you had to do. All right. Now, Rita Wilson, Tom H That's all you had to do. All right. Now, Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks' wife, is talking about chloroquine. And she actually was given chloroquine to help her out.
Starting point is 00:28:31 And she told Gayle King that she got very nauseous and experienced different things like vertigo. Here's what she said. How high was your fever? I think it got close to 102 about day nine. They gave me chloroquine. I don't know if the drug worked or it was just time for the fever to break. But my fever did break. But the chloroquine had such extreme side effects. I was completely nauseous.
Starting point is 00:28:59 I had vertigo. I could not walk. And my muscles felt very weak. Did it heal a little? Yeah, I mean, she's better now. So she said we don't know if it's that safe, but she went through a lot. So she said it may or may not have helped her beat the virus, but she
Starting point is 00:29:16 did have some extreme side effects. You know when you see a commercial and the side effects sound worse than the actual whatever it is that you have? Did it work for your guy, Envy? Old dude, 60 years old? Oh, yes, yes, he sure did. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he sure did.
Starting point is 00:29:28 He took that and it worked for him. He said that all the other doctors told him said no, but he did, one doctor told him to take that and he said that saved his life. He said it turned everything around and him and his wife are doing fine now. Well, now people are being treated with a newer version of that
Starting point is 00:29:42 and that's the hydroxychloroquine. She took the chloroquine, but she did say that for her, the side effects were pretty bad. All right. Well, I'm Angela Yee, and that is your rumor report. Now, to go back to Mike Rubin's challenge, the all-in challenge, I just want to tell you some of the other people. So, of course, Meek Mill put in the $200,000 Rolls Royce. You could play a game of horse with Magic Johnson and sit courtside. That's $50,000.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Yogati did his watch, and that opening bid is $10,000. Jason Tatum, you can hang out with him at the Celtics Arena. That was $10,000. I'm trying to think what else was some good ones. You can double date. Justin Bieber's going to come sing
Starting point is 00:30:23 One Less Lonely Girl at your house, and you can buy 10 opportunities to win that for $10. So everything's not like $10,000, $50,000. Yeah, you can double date Russell and Ciara. That's $10,000. You could be in the studio with Timbaland. That's $2,500. I'm trying to think of any other good ones.
Starting point is 00:30:40 You could be Ryan Seacrest's next co-host, and that's $10 for 10 opportunities to win that, like a raffle. See, stuff like that is dope because regular people can participate in that. You know what I'm saying? And that's a life-changing opportunity. The person who got $2,500, I guess if you're an aspiring artist and you got some disposable income, that's a good investment. Uh-huh. $2,500 to be in there with Timbaland.
Starting point is 00:31:03 But still, $2,500 is a lot of money. It is. For the average person. You can get Casanova's personal Yeezy collection. It's 10 opportunities for $10 to win that. I didn't see that on the allinchallenge.com. I didn't see that. Who said Cas got a dope Yeezy collection?
Starting point is 00:31:19 I never heard about Cas having a Yeezy collection. Cas, let me see your Yeezy collection to make sure it's worth how much? How much you say, Yee? Well, for each $10, for 10 opportunities to win, so like for 10 raffle tickets, it's $10. For the record, Michael Rubin could have reached out to Kanye and got some fresh Yeezys for this auction. Shut up, man.
Starting point is 00:31:38 I'm serious. Like, salute to my guy, Casanova, but God damn, man. Can somebody get some fresh Yeezys? Yeezy would have gave up some fresh Yeezys for this auction. And just to tell you that, Meek Mill's auction, he started the bid at $200,000, and right now the bid is at $310,000. So somebody is actually bidding on
Starting point is 00:31:53 that vehicle. All right. They said you get an opportunity to go to a party at Dak Prescott's house right now? How much is that? How much you get for that? I'm kidding. Oh, all right. That come with his own free case of Corona. Prescott's house right now? No. How much is that? How much you get for that? I'm kidding. Oh, ho. Alright. That come with his own free case of Corona. My goodness.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We have a special guest on the line right now. Absolutely. Miss Nina Turner, welcome. How you doing? How are you doing? How are you feeling? How are you feeling?
Starting point is 00:32:25 How you quarantining? I'm okay. Now, Nina, you know, yesterday Bernie Sanders endorsed Joe Biden. And, you know, my first question is, you know, what does Joe Biden have to do to get supporters of Bernie like yourself to actually vote for him other than just being the alternative of Trump? As you know, the senator has always said that he was going to endorse whoever the nominee was. So that's really not breaking news. In terms of the supporters, I mean, this is a mission issue oriented movement.
Starting point is 00:32:55 And the slogan not me, us is real to many of Senator Sanders supporters. And so it's going to be vitally important that the vice president and his team adhere to the mission of Medicare for all green new deal, canceling student debt, all of the things that this movement has been fighting for, for well over five years, that is really what is going to take. And that is what I am hearing from many of the senators supporters. I've seen that Joe Biden has put forward some plans already talking about student loan debt and all of that. So is there a plan for, and I saw that the two of them had their conversation and have given each other their support. So do you think that Bernie Sanders will be somewhat involved in creating these plans? I know they've been talking about putting together
Starting point is 00:33:41 different teams of people. So where's that conversation at now? Yes, Angela, they are putting together those teams right now. It's going to be, I think it's either five or six teams, the economy, immigration, criminal justice, education, health care. Yes, those teams are being put together as we speak and they should be announced really soon. Now, what do you say? Which task force you on, you say which task force you want nina which task force you want if nina not on the task force i'm not i'm not riding listen i'm a movement leader so it's best that i stay on the outside moving so i can be all the
Starting point is 00:34:16 way grown and tell the truth and nothing but the truth to help all of us for a time such as this i need to be with the people i am a movement leader at this stage in my life. And that's where I am most comfortable. And let's be honest. I told some truths about, you know, the vice president, about the campaign. So be honest. I'm not the sister that they want. You know, I am on the island, a misfit black girl.
Starting point is 00:34:40 So you telling me that they don't they don't they don't want truth tellers. That's what you're basically saying. Like, why wouldn't they want truth tellers on the side you know sometimes people are more comfortable not necessarily hearing the truth i mean they should want truth tellers but not necessarily in the world of politics that's not always a promising thing people don't like to necessarily hear the truth but too many people are suffering right now to play games with this you know people are people are dying. We know that the African-American community is dying at disproportionate rates to our numbers in the population in terms of this COVID, or as my elder said, Miss Corona. That's what she called it. Miss Corona is really, you know, knocking us
Starting point is 00:35:18 out. And this is nothing new. The saying is true that when America, white America catches the cold, black America catches the flu. What happens when we have COVID-19? And so the disproportionate suffering of African-Americans does require a disproportionate answer. And that answer is bigger than the man in the White House. I'm interested to see what phase four of the stimulus package is going to look like for everyday people. So now that all hearts and minds are clear that the COVID is impacting the African-American community deeper and more deadlier, I want to see what folks are going to do about it. But this is not new. All of the negative indicators in society always hurt the African-American.
Starting point is 00:35:58 We're always the ones hurt more deeply. That's just called being in America. But it's time for that to stop. What do you say to the people that felt that maybe bernie sanders should have dropped out a lot sooner you know you're trying to give me the cuss on this show i'm just i'm just asking the question i see that little smirk i'm just going to cuss nina a lot of people ask that question or the cuss if you want to cuss i mean it begins with f is with F and U. It's supposed to be a democracy the last time I checked.
Starting point is 00:36:31 I mean, get out earlier. He out earlier. This will go around. And even in 2016, people deserve to have a choice, EJ. People shouldn't be, you know, this is not a coordination. It's called competition. And what our movement was able to do was bring to the fore the suffering of people, to bring to the forefront that, you know what, American people, 99 percent, you do deserve nice things. You deserve clean air, clean water, clean food. You deserve to be able to look into the eyes of your babies and say to them, I might mama or daddy might not make a whole lot of money, but you deserve to go to college. Let's go and roll this thing in and have a social contract,
Starting point is 00:37:05 and let's do college for all. You deserve those things. That is what this movement was able to do. And the beauty about what is happening right now, even though it is a deadly situation, it is a heavy situation, it is an oppressive situation, nobody can go back and pretend like the way the health care system is commodified, that it's okay because it's not okay to have health care attached to a job.
Starting point is 00:37:26 It's going to be about 17 million. They're predicting right now people unemployed and climbing. We don't know actually what the end is going to be on this is going to be higher than it was in the Great Depression of the 1920s. And people still want to pretend like it's OK to have health care tied to a job. We can't unsee what we now know. Now, Cardi B said the reason that Bernie didn't necessarily win was because a lot of the young people didn't come out. Do you feel the same? I mean, Cardi's on point. It's not just that they came out.
Starting point is 00:37:55 They did come out. I mean, in places like Iowa, you know, their numbers were higher than they even were in some previous presidential elections, but we didn't necessarily duplicate that at every single one of the early states before we got to Super Tuesday. So I understand the point that Cardi B is making, which is you've got to be in this to win this.
Starting point is 00:38:14 You cannot sit on the sidelines. We can be mad as hell, but you have to take action. This is about power, just plain and simple. People need to understand this. Good ideas and power is a beautiful thing. Good ideas without power, not so much. So we need to get out there in the streets and elect people
Starting point is 00:38:31 who actually are not going to lose their minds once they get there, and that they are going to be committed, win, lose, or draw, to standing up for the everyday people of this nation. And we need that on all levels of government. But Cardi B's point is right, raw, and real. You know why else I say the media is full of shit?
Starting point is 00:38:49 Because now you hear a lot of people say Bernie Sanders was right. Bernie Sanders has always been right. But they say that after he's dropped out. If you'd have said that while he was running, then maybe you could have changed the tide at the polls. They didn't want that, Charlamagne. Why don't you want what's right? That's what I don't understand. Like, I don't get it.
Starting point is 00:39:09 I really don't. Like, that really confuses me. Why wouldn't you want what's right? Because the status quo is more concerned about retaining their power than really doing the right thing. Nina, strategically, who do you see as a great choice for a vice president running mate?
Starting point is 00:39:23 You know, I don't even want to, I don't know. I don't. Now, I'm going to ask you. I want to ask you. Is there anybody that would move you to say, okay, now I see that's a good choice. That makes me want to put my support. Is there anybody that you're like, this would be a no?
Starting point is 00:39:45 Not at this moment. I mean, the kind of people that I would pick, you know, they wouldn't even dream of entertaining. You know what I want more than anything? I want somebody that's going to do the people's bidding and not the bidding of Wall Street, not the bidding of high-powered lobbyists. I need somebody that's going to do the bidding of the people in the street. All right, we got more with ex-Senator Nina Turner. When we come back, don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning,
Starting point is 00:40:07 everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with ex-Senator Nina Turner. Charlamagne? So, Nina, let me ask you a question. I know you can't speak for everybody, but Breonna Gray, diehard Bernie supporter, she said she cannot endorse Joe Biden because Joe doesn't back all of those things. Medicare for all, canceling all student debt, a wealth tax. I can't be mad at her for that. What do you feel? Bre Joy speaks
Starting point is 00:40:33 her truth. And you know, in terms of people catching hell in public about working for Senator Sanders, working for the issues, Bre Joy is right up there with me. I mean, they have done some of the most nasty, distasteful, racist, sexist things to Bree Joy on social media that I've ever seen. And these have been, quite frankly, people with the blue check marks, too. These have been the neoliberals who trust women, you know, trust black women, black women lead.
Starting point is 00:40:59 But yet and still, you endorse the level of vitriol that was tossed towards Bre Joy, and it's wrong. So I'm glad you brought her up, Charlamagne. I want to give a big shout-out to Bre Joy. She is fierce. You know, she's on that island of misfit black girls with me, with people like Sojourner Truth and Harriet Tubman and Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm and Congresswoman Barbara Jordan. Yeah, we on that island of misfit black girls. But I respect Bre Joy, and I respect her position and what she has to say. Yeah, we on that island of misfit black girls. But I respect Bree Joy and I respect her position and what she has to say.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Again, this is America. Let's question how folks don't try to bully people into doing something. That's right. How you gonna do that? I don't understand why they so quick to just give their ass to Joe Biden. Like, at least let him court you a little bit.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Make him give you something. Like, I respect Bree for that. Like, I'm not just gonna give, I'm not gonna just endorse this guy because he's the nominee. What is he going to do for us? Right, you got to prove. That's it.
Starting point is 00:41:49 And you guys know, every time you have me on, no matter what, I always talk about politicians having to earn the vote. Nothing should be given to them. So, yes, what are you going to do to prove to the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, and particularly the Berniecrats, that you really do want their vote. Well, it's not just telling me you love me, but you got to show me that you love me. That's right. I want to see some Oval Office action, you know what I'm saying, in terms of the policy positions,
Starting point is 00:42:18 not putting together a little nice, little pretty council, but what are you really going to do at the end of the day with the people's power if you become president of the United States that is going to change their material condition? That is what everybody should be asking for. And so we fall in love with these politicians so much we don't even challenge them. Now, with the coronavirus and everything going on, how does this affect the election? You know, people are going to it's going to be harder for people to go out to vote. Does this necessarily help the other side? Because it seems like it's definitely going to hurt outside. Well, DJ and who is what is our side? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:55 That is true, too. No, I'm being sarcastic. No, it is definitely going to change things. I mean, vote by mail. A lot of states are doing that right now. And so we really are calling upon state governments to make sure that vote by mail is an option for people so that people are not getting sick. What they did in Wisconsin was wrong. They put people on the front line. And 14 days from now, we're going to see the cases of the virus spreading going up in that state also march 17th state you know they still have people out there voting my state ohio thank god that my governor albeit a republican did the right thing so you know vote by mail you know we we need to make uh election day a national holiday period that should be the case yes coming out of this we really need some strong reforms when it comes to uh going to the ballot box and what that looks like in the 21st century i I've heard even some people even float out there. People should be able to vote online, you know, and there's a way to make that secure. We do our banking online.
Starting point is 00:43:51 Why couldn't we, you know, protect my money, baby, protect my vote. So there are ways to get that done. I think if there's a political wheel, there certainly is a way and Corona virus again has really caused us to think anew about some of the things that we just did on a routine basis and voting is part of that we got to think anew and come up with better ideas to advance representative democracy and just break down hurdles and barriers you know you know uh senator turner i really can't get behind joe biden until i see him with an economic black agenda i need a criminal justice reform agenda
Starting point is 00:44:25 so he can undo some of the damage he caused with the 94 crime bill. I want him to have a black woman as a running mate. He already said he'll put a black woman on the Supreme Court. And I need to see more people around him that I can trust. So when you tell me things like, oh, I'm not going to be part of the task force, or they don't want me part of the task force, that lets me know that they just want the same old, same old in the White again am i wrong for feeling like that i'm not in i'm not enthused to vote for him at all anybody but trump don't scare me you're not wrong to feel that way charlemagne is real and it is because of people like you and the breakfast club where people can come in and speak their truth you know the having a black woman on the supreme court been that's been due and that was
Starting point is 00:45:03 something that reverend jesse Jackson, I want to give Reverend Jackson a shout out on this. Before he endorsed Senator Sanders, that was something that was on his list. He had 13 things that he wanted Senator Sanders to commit to, and that was one of them. So actually, our campaign put that out there first. And I'm glad that Vice President Biden
Starting point is 00:45:19 copied that. That copy is a beautiful thing. But you're right. You've got to have people that surround you that are not just yes men and yes women and you we all have to come to grips with our you know the things that we have done as public servants and the crime bill is one of those what happened to professor anita hill is another and i just don't understand how we in the black community you know we allow people to treat our women in our yes any kind of way and they don't understand how we in the black community you know we allow people to treat our women in our yes any kind of way and they don't even have to atone for that and we know that the last interview that professor anita hill did she said she was not accepting that apology that should
Starting point is 00:45:55 matter to the black community we should make some real demands so i'm with you with that on that charlamagne that we do need a real black agenda but black folks need a real black agenda too hello somebody we need to put forward our collective yes and stop letting people anybody even politicians i admire and like this ain't about like at this point this is about survival getting from survival to thrive mode at some point in our black lives i want somebody to stand up and say i made it from survival to thriving. And I want more than a handful of us to get there. You know, when I get to heaven, I want to have to act brand new. I want to know what street paid with gold look like. No, Nina, you're right, though. This is the perfect time for people to be putting forth their agendas and saying, we're not supporting you unless this, this and this can happen.
Starting point is 00:46:46 We have to figure these things out. It is a perfect time to be putting that forward to Joe Biden to let him know what our demands are and to have that ready in place. So you can say you're not getting our endorsement unless these demands are met. And that is the perfect time for us to have a plan moving forward instead of just saying, OK, I'm not supporting him because I just don't like the things that he's done in the past. Now it's the time to say, moving forward, this is what we need. It's also about, you know, this man said that if Medicare for all came to his best, so we, right, you're right. We don't have to go back 10, 20 years. So unless he has changed his mind today, which I'm going to be open to that in the latest interview where he was asked a question about Medicare for all, he said, if it came to his desk, he would veto it. That's not 10 years ago.
Starting point is 00:47:28 That's not even two months ago. And that's something that I think that absolutely, as we can see right now, dealing with everything that we've been dealing with, that has to be something that is a must moving forward. Mandatory. Absolutely. We got more with ex-Senator Nina Turner. When we come back, don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:47:47 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with ex-Senator Nina Turner. Charlamagne? Do you think it's been too much focus on Trump and not enough on Biden? Because I've been questioning Biden's leadership, right?
Starting point is 00:48:02 Because, you know, over the past several weeks, we see Donald Trump on TV every day doing his daily briefings about coronavirus. And there wasn't really any counter-programming coming from the person who was supposed to be the Democratic nominee. So much so that when Cuomo started doing his daily briefings, that became the counter-programming. And now people looking at Cuomo like, yo, we want him to run for president. So do you think it's either a lack of leadership on Biden's part? Like he's not capable of being a leader or is this too much focus on Trump? Well, he needs to get out there.
Starting point is 00:48:30 You know, this is a competition. So although the primary, the way the primary may have been paved his way, that's not going to happen in the general. This is going to be hand-to-hand combat with this president. And so Vice President Biden is going to have to get out there more and show the people how he's going to lead, what is his vision. And the point that you made, Charlemagne, that I didn't get the answer about, you know, is it enough just to be anti-Trump? No, it's not enough.
Starting point is 00:48:56 It's not. And I want people to dream a bigger dream and expand their mind. We've been so seduced by the fact that Donald Trump is rotten. And we get that. We got that memo. But what is your vision? So, yes, we must both defeat President Donald Trump and also have a vision. That's not an either or.
Starting point is 00:49:14 And you're right. That's right. Anti-Trump, anti-Trump. That's not going to move a whole lot of people, especially disaffected voters, especially people who are the most vulnerable and especially on the backdrop of Corona. I mean, what really is going to motivate me if I'm already suffering? voters, especially people who are the most vulnerable and especially on the backdrop of Corona. I mean, what really is going to motivate me if I'm already suffering? Right. Here's something I need to know something and not just here.
Starting point is 00:49:38 I need some guarantees that you actually don't do the things that you said that you're going to do. And you're not just saying them to seduce me to vote for you. That's the kind of leadership that we need. So it's both. And yes, defeat Donald Trump and have a vision. saying them to seduce me to vote for you. That's the kind of leadership that we need. So it's both and. Yes, defeat Donald Trump and have a vision. And that is the part that is lacking right now. This is my last question, Senator Turner.
Starting point is 00:49:53 You don't think even Bernie would say, I want you on the task force? If he's going to be a part of the task force? You know, Charles, honestly, I have not been a part of those negotiations. Look, I called Vice President Biden out. So let's be honest here. You guys know I wrote an op-ed just laying it out,
Starting point is 00:50:08 just telling the truth. You told the truth, though. I know, but sometimes there's a consequence for telling the truth, you know? There are consequences for telling the truth. I can't vote for a person.
Starting point is 00:50:19 I can respect somebody that says, okay, this person was a person that called me out and perhaps they were right, so let me bring that person in to help me right my wrongs. And I think that's really valuable. And that would make me say, okay,
Starting point is 00:50:29 he's really above this. Okay. This person has agreed with me. I'm not with them. That would make me say, okay, I can rock with that. Yes.
Starting point is 00:50:37 I can't vote for a person who's punishing somebody for telling the truth. That sounds great. That's a great leader. I'm saying it breakfast, breakfast club. You're hearing it here first. Angela, Charlemagne, DJ, they don't want me on those task force. That would be a great leader.
Starting point is 00:50:50 That's what a great leader would do. You're hearing it from me. That's a damn shame. Well, thank you, Nina Turner, for checking in. We appreciate you so much. I've already been told they don't want me. Damn. They don't want you?
Starting point is 00:50:59 Does that make you feel bad for supporting Senator Sanders then? Because he's got to have some power and some say. No, no, no, no, no. This has nothing to do with Senator Sanders in that way. And what I mean by that is that this was always about the movement. These were always about the issues that I believed in, period. So rocking with them is not a thing for me. I'm rocking with the people all the way.
Starting point is 00:51:21 And they cannot, what they can't take away is my leadership and my influence and how I have changed the course of history. So they can have those little task force. I want some real deliverables for the people. That's what I want.
Starting point is 00:51:31 There you have it. Well, let me go ahead and say it for you, Senator Turner. F*** them people. Hey, that's what I was, thank you. Absolutely. Well, thank you,
Starting point is 00:51:41 Nina Turner, for checking in. We appreciate you so much. Thank you. I appreciate you so much. Thank you. I appreciate you all, too, for keeping it real. And always, I get to be my total black self on The Breakfast Club. I love y'all. All right.
Starting point is 00:51:52 Thank you so much. Absolutely. Love you, too, Senator Turner. All right. Stay healthy. You, too. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired?
Starting point is 00:51:59 Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of, like, this is mine. I own this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy.
Starting point is 00:52:10 There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I trade my own country?
Starting point is 00:52:25 My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets.
Starting point is 00:52:39 We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. Starting point is 00:54:09 A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it. Make sure you check it out. Hey, y'all. Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records. Historical Records brings
Starting point is 00:54:33 history to life through hip hop. Each episode is about a different, inspiring figure from history. Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was called a moment. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records. Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise. Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's about time.
Starting point is 00:55:29 What's going on? Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee from The Breakfast Club. Yes, so the first two episodes of The Last Dance, that documentary on Michael Jordan, actually is going to start airing on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:55:46 So it's going to be those first two episodes. And then on each of the following four Sundays, there'll be a pair of new episodes that will premiere on ESPN. As you know, they moved the date up from June 2nd for it to start this Sunday. And they said it's a lot in there and it's very open when it comes to Michael Jordan and the talking head interviews that he's done they said are the most compelling ones on there now here is part of the trailer that was released the biggest challenge is us I am cursed this mentality of competitiveness competition is an addiction every day was a battle boom they don't hear it see Dennis for 48 hours no matter what we did it seemed like day was a battle. Dennis, get up here! Boom. They don't hear it. See Dennis
Starting point is 00:56:26 for 48 hours. No matter what we did, it seemed like it was a story. Scotty was being selfish. When the trust is broken, it's sort of shocking. I know I hated Scotty. Six championships in eight years. We were the greatest team ever. What time is it? I'm gonna ridicule you until you get on the same level with me.
Starting point is 00:56:41 That man got the free ride of me. It was his team. My mentality was to go out and win at any cost. According to reports, The Last Dance also takes on some controversies like how he likes to gamble, his aversion to politics, and a bunch of other things. They said they had 500 hours of footage that they've been trying to get people to sign off on doing something with it for nearly two decades. So it should be interesting. I'm excited about this. Yeah, that's must-see TV. I mean, especially
Starting point is 00:57:14 if you grew up in that 90s bull era and you can remember the theme song, the dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun. When they was announcing the players, that's going to be something special to watch. Yes, it is. Old heads like myself will definitely appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:57:29 And not just the old heads. My son loves Michael Jordan too. So I think, I think everybody will, will, will love that story. Yeah, but the thing about. Michael Jordan is an iconic figure even today. He is, but the beauty of, of, of nostalgia, like I said earlier, is when you have experienced something in real time, it brings you back to that moment. That's something that kids could never feel.
Starting point is 00:57:48 All right. Now, 50 Cent says in his book that he does avoid drinking his own champagne in the club and that he actually swaps it out for ginger ale. In his book, Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter, he said he doesn't drink a lot because he likes to keep a clear head, but he still does have to promote his various lines of liquor. So when he's out with his friends drinking he said first i'll pour a drink from a bottle of champagne for everyone who's in vip with me when the bottle is empty i'll give it to one of my guys and have him quietly refill it with ginger ale for the rest of the night i'll have that bottle in my hand i'll take swigs every now and then just to keep the vibe right but i'm not drinking anything but canada dry well here's the thing. Why tell people that, though?
Starting point is 00:58:26 I don't know. You're promoting an alcohol. Like, why would they want to drink something that you're not even drinking, Phif? I feel like I've had drinks with Phif in the club, and I guess he wasn't really drinking. Now, sometimes you catch him. Sometimes you definitely catch him.
Starting point is 00:58:40 He does pour everybody drinks first, and then you look, and then he's drinking. But sometimes you catch him when he pours you a drink. You're like, come on, take a shot or take a sip. And then he has to do it. But other than that, you got to watch that guy because he will definitely pour everybody drinks and keep it moving. And I also think 50 is probably keeping the bottle for a weapon. Knowing 50, just in case it pops off.
Starting point is 00:58:59 Just in case. Just in case something pops off. He can smash you upside the head with that champagne bottle. He's changed. Well, another thing he talked about was recently being at a party in New York, and Snoop offered him the joint, and you can't say no because everybody was cheering him on. He said, not wanting to kill the mood, I took a big hit and then just let the smoke swirl around in my mouth before I blew it back out. That's as far as it went.
Starting point is 00:59:20 That was Tycoon Week, and that was the pool party out in Jersey, and Snoop was pretty much forcing 50 to smoke. He did. 50, let me teach you how to fake smoke, bro. No, nobody fake smoke better than me. I am like Bill Clinton. I do not inhale. All right. Now, YBN Almighty Jay is upset at the Breakfast Club. And I know we'll get more into this in Donkey of the Day. But he posted a clip from our interview with Boosie and said, some things in this world I would never understand. I get judged so much by lame-ass MFs
Starting point is 00:59:50 that don't know me in real life and MFs that just dry hate on young M-words. This ish right here, crazy swipe left to see a different response to the same statement. F Breakfast Club, old miserable bitches. Damn. First of all, I ain't talk about y'all like that. First of all, I ain't talking about y'all like that.
Starting point is 01:00:05 First of all, I am not miserable. I'm not miserable either. I may be old. I might even be a bitch. But I am not miserable, young man. All right. Okay, we will talk about this for after the hour. Sorry that we care about people's safety in real life.
Starting point is 01:00:20 But hey, you know. That's good of you. The funny thing is when I heard that I thought the same thing. I was like, I ain't miserable now. I ain't't miserable i'd be a lot of other i might be i'm definitely old i'm definitely a 41 year old man compared to you because you're 18 and i'm deaf i might be a bitch but i ain't miserable i ain't miserable i'm happy actually all right now joel osteen's virtual easter is a huge success even though the church was closed. According to sources, his total viewership Easter weekend was 11.73 million people across multiple platforms. So, I mean, that's huge for him.
Starting point is 01:00:55 And that is way bigger than his previous record that was set by when he and Kanye did that last year. It got four million total viewers that day. So 11.7 million viewers at this point. And shout out to DJ Jazzy Jeff. We told you before he had coronavirus and now he is speaking on what happened and basically how he knew he wasn't feeling well. His wife was there with him. He was on Tamron Hall discussing it. When my wife and I were at the store, I looked at her and told her that I didn't feel well. And she was, you know, asked me what was wrong. And I said, I feel a little achy,
Starting point is 01:01:29 like I'm coming down with something and literally went home and got in the bed and almost don't remember the next 11 days. Wasn't eating, couldn't taste anything, couldn't smell anything. When we finally were able to go to a doctor, they wouldn't test me for COVID-19. They gave me a flu test and then gave me an x-ray on my lungs and said I had pneumonia in both of my lungs, which terrified me to death. And I came home and was on very heavy antibiotics and had a extremely rough, literally 10 to 11 days before I really started to kind of come out of it. Yes, he put together that Keep Your Ass in the House Instagram campaign. And wants people to know it's very important to stay indoors and slow the spread of coronavirus by being Almighty Jay.
Starting point is 01:02:17 So just be careful, be safe. That's all we really care about. We want you to be safe. And interestingly enough, Bob Arum, the top ranked CEO, says he's going to look into Florida events because the state of Florida has said that sports is an essential service. So the WWE has already insisted on being an essential service. And now that has opened the door for sports in Florida. And so far now they're saying that perhaps there'll be a real possibility to use the facilities in Florida to do events without a crowd. So we'll see what happens as the WWE use the Performance Center in Orlando for WrestleMania. And they've been using that venue. Maybe there'll be some more things happening in Florida. All right. I'm Angela Yee. And that is
Starting point is 01:03:02 your rumor report. All right. Thank you, Miss Yee. And congratulations. Yeah, I know Yee has just picked up another Gracie Award. This time was for lip service. So congratulations to you. How does it feel to pick up another Gracie Award? That's really exciting. Yeah, I know. I'm really excited about that one. So yes, thank you for that. That's pretty dope. Congratulations. Now you went to the Gracie's last year, so you won't get a chance to go this year to pick your award up. So I guess they have to send it to you. That's not true. They actually delayed the date for it. It's going to be in September, September, I think 22nd. So hopefully by that time we'll be able to travel and attend because it's an amazing event for women and media and television. So yeah, I'm excited.
Starting point is 01:03:44 Now, where do you put the Gracie Awards in your house? Do you have a place in the house where you put your awards? Yes, I actually do have a place for my awards. It's in the guest room slash study. So all the awards are in there. Well, congratulations on your 2020 Gracie Award. And to the ladies of lip service, love you guys, man. The Tink interview is out on lip service right now.
Starting point is 01:04:04 I know everybody loves Tink from Chicago. We did a lot of Chicago artists recently for some reason. Do they get awards too or nah? They done. They done though. I don't think so. But, you know, shout out to Yeet. I love my girls.
Starting point is 01:04:17 Well, congratulations to Yeet. Now, Charlamagne, who are you giving that donkey to? I need YBN Almighty Jay to come to the front of the congregation. Just want to have a little word with the young brother. That's all. All right. We'll get into that next. Keep it locked.
Starting point is 01:04:29 It's the Breakfast Club. It's the Breakfast Club. The old miserable bitches. You get donkey of the day. Yeah, you dumb ass. You get donkey of the day. Yeah, you dumb ass. You are a donkey.
Starting point is 01:04:43 It's time for Donkey of the Day. Donkey of the Day, huh? I'm going to fatten all that shit around your eyes. They want this man to throw them blows, man. They wait for Charlamagne to tap them gloves. Let's go. They had to make a judgment of who was going to be on the Donkey of the Day. They chose you.
Starting point is 01:04:57 I got shit up the breakfast club, bitches. Who's Donkey of the Day today? Donkey of the Day for Wednesday, April 15th goes to a young 18 year old rapper named ybn almighty j now ybn almighty j is an anti-social distancer and you know what i say about anti-social distances they are the same type of folks who wouldn't have gotten on the ark when noah told him it was about the rain and we've seen so many stories of anti-cial distances, getting sick. And in some cases, like Bishop Gerald Glenn, who said God is larger than Corona. Well, he died. So when we tell you that you need to practice antisocial distancing, we are telling you not just for your own good, but for the good of others, because we all got things to do.
Starting point is 01:05:38 We all need to get back outside so we can get back to the real hustle of life. And we can't do that unless we social distance and flatten this curve you see flattening i mean you see social distancing is working all around the country so we need to continue to do more of it so we can get back outside now why being almighty jay is upset with us because of this rumor report from earlier this week let's hear it ibn almighty jay he was talking to tmz and he said that he's just not taking coronavirus seriously here's what he said i he's just not taking coronavirus seriously. Here's what he said. I've been recording music and playing the game, sleeping. Oh no, I ain't been really
Starting point is 01:06:10 taking it serious. I just wish I could go somewhere, but I still been having like girls and stuff like pull up to the spot. Even though you're supposed to be social distancing? Of course, we don't social distance. Are you checking their temperature or anything when they come in? Like, are you taking any precautions? Nah, man. I just pick wisely, man. I just pick wisely. Well, he's a young man who also has unprotected sex with randoms, I'm sure. So if you have unprotected sex with randoms, you're damn sure ain't afraid of no coronavirus.
Starting point is 01:06:36 Right. So even though he's staying in the house, you can't just be meeting women and inviting them over during this time. You could be infecting them with coronavirus once they infect you and you're spreading it around it's really time to maybe just be celibate for a second but once again he's a young man who i'm sure takes chances with his penis and has a lot of unprotected sex with randoms so he responded to that by posting that on his instagram and uh he he put this caption some things in this world I would never understand. I get judged so much by lame ass mother effers that don't know me in real life and mother effers that just try hate on young Negroes.
Starting point is 01:07:14 This right here. Crazy swipe left to see a different response to the same statement. F at Breakfast Club a.m. Old miserable bitches. First of all, first of all, why being almighty j compared to you you're 18 i'm 41 i'm old i get it i may even be a bitch depending on the circumstances and i'm fine with that but miserable never my life is amazing my self-worth is more than my net worth but my network my net worth isn't bad what say you envyvy? Mine is pretty good I'm alright out here What say you Yee?
Starting point is 01:07:46 It's decent yeah I'm happy Okay okay okay So nobody's miserable in the room Nah Everybody good Alright okay Alright now the reason why
Starting point is 01:07:55 Being Almighty Jay Is getting donkier today Is because clearly He just wants attention He's sitting in the house Quarantined And he's happy he got mentioned On the Breakfast Club
Starting point is 01:08:03 And listen If you didn't like what we said Cool okay You have every right to respond but let's state the facts you posted a clip of the breakfast club talking to busi and you edited the clip to make it seem like we had nothing that we had something like we had something to say about you being an anti-social distance but didn't reply to busi you said swipe left to see a different response to the same statement can we hear the clip that YBN Almighty J posted on his Instagram? Speaking of strangers, how long you been with this woman?
Starting point is 01:08:29 You gotta be quarantining right now, so you should be social distancing. You haven't three times not quarantined. I ain't worried about all that social distancing and all that shit. You know how it goes. How long ago? We just seen a couple of weeks ago you was not mad at possibly hollering at
Starting point is 01:08:47 rihanna now last time i checked this boost the interview we did on breakfast club it got like a million views so clearly you are one of those people who watched the whole interview or maybe you didn't watch the whole interview i'm thinking you didn't watch the whole interview but no i think you did watch the whole interview. But you decided to edit it to make yourself look good. Even though you know we push back on Boosie being an anti-social distancer. Let's
Starting point is 01:09:14 hear it. Speaking of strangers, how long you been with this woman? Because you got to be quarantining right now. So you should be social distancing. You must know this woman. You're not quarantining. I ain't worried about all that social distancing and all that quarantine. We do a party ass everywhere.
Starting point is 01:09:28 Well, don't say that, Boosie. That's going to shut you down, Boosie. Yeah, don't say it. People are really sick. I wouldn't say s*** quarantine. You don't believe in coronavirus, Boosie? I think I had it all. But I don't give a f*** about no coronavirus.
Starting point is 01:09:40 I kind of basically live on faith. People are dying, though, Boosie. Yeah, but people are surviving too. I get what you're saying, but you know, they say faith without works is dead. So if they tell you that you can social distance and wear a mask to prevent from getting it, you can work towards not getting it.
Starting point is 01:09:55 I guess, but I ain't trying to let that stress me out as far as like it's doing everybody else. Every day I'm trying to have fun, get money, and turn up. No, Boosie, coronavirus is killing people. We got to flatten this curve. All we need is a little social distancing for a couple of weeks.
Starting point is 01:10:12 All right, Boosie, you got to stay healthy out there now, though. Man, we going to be all right, man. All y'all got to do is pray about it, man. But I ain't messing with the corona, though, Boosie. I ain't messing with that. I'm scared. I'm not trying to up the chances. Yeah, and I worry about you, about you boozy because you got diabetes and corona is really taking people out who have
Starting point is 01:10:29 pre-existed health conditions man so you got to be cautious bro yeah that's what they say but i gotta live if it's time for me to die it's time for me to die come on almighty jay you heard that as well you knew that young man but you wanted to manipulate your followers you really wanted to show your followers that the breakfast club is talking about you so you had to act fake mad and edit a boozy interview to create a story yeah you are acting like the media you claim to be mad at what you did is clickbait this is donald trump six nine level trolling you are doing what a lot of people in your generation do and that's clout chase look you got 550 comments out of the deal congratulations sir matter of fact let's see if we can double that this morning let's have a petty party uh let's
Starting point is 01:11:10 have a petty party this morning let's go to ybn almighty jay's ig page uh that's what it is it's y-b-n-a-l-m-i-g-h-t-y-j-a-y ybn almighty jay let's go to his page and leave the donkey emoji and some hand claps in his mentions Because he got the attention he's looking for And we can celebrate that with a round of applause Okay round of applause for your editing skills Round of applause for the attention you received From doing this because I don't think we've
Starting point is 01:11:36 Talked about the young man on here before I know YBN Corday has been here YBN Corday is a fantastic artist I don't think we've ever talked about Jay But Jay in case you're upset with what I was saying by you still sleeping with randoms during a global pandemic, you probably are used to sleeping with women unprotected. So you're used to taking risks. But the moral of the story is, King, don't take risk with your health. Okay. You don't have to YOLO your life away. You wouldn't play a game of Russian roulette,
Starting point is 01:12:00 would you? So why play Russian roulette with your health by having random women come over to sleep with them? I would say it's your life, but in a case like this, it's not just your life because you are putting other people at risk too, because you get sick, don't show symptoms, run around wherever you live and possibly infect other people. And you, sir, are a rapper. Concerts are canceled until fall 2021. That means no show money. You know why? Because people like you don't want to follow the rules and social distance. OK, we got to flatten the curve. So not only are you going to be possibly sick, you might be potentially broke. That money going to get low. OK, so excuse me for looking out for you, almighty J. OK, by telling you that you need to social distance but once again anti-social distances are the same type of people who wouldn't have gotten on the ark when noah told them to so look we can tell you all day to social distance but if you don't want to
Starting point is 01:12:55 let them drown please give the young man almighty jay the biggest he are all right that's right and make sure make sure you go to ybn almighty jay's instagram page yb n a l m i g h t y j a y let's have a little petty party uh give him a round of applause and also put the donkey emoji in his comments and maybe tell a young man why he should you know be social distancing he's 18 he just needs to learn. That's all. God bless him. And you know how I know he probably was having unprotected sex and taking risks?
Starting point is 01:13:32 That's what I was doing at 18. Oh my goodness. That's how I know. And listen, donkey of the day or not, everybody, please just be safe, okay? You never know what's going to happen. We've seen a lot of people who did not think they could potentially
Starting point is 01:13:47 catch it, didn't take it seriously, end up getting sick or infect somebody else. Please take it seriously. That's all we're saying. We say that to anybody who's not following the rules. All right. Absolutely. Thank you for that donkey today. I know you say it to anybody because you said it about some of your
Starting point is 01:14:03 Cowboys players, including Dak Prescott. That's right. I did give it to donkey today for Dak know how I don't say it to anybody? Because you said it about some of your Cowboys players, including Dak Prescott. That's right. I did give it to donkey today for Dak. I can see. Alright. Well, thank you for that donkey today, you old, miserable bitch, you. I'm not miserable. That's all of us. Old bitch I may be. I may be an old bitch,
Starting point is 01:14:19 but I'm not miserable. Alright. Up next, ask Yee. 805585-1051. If you got a question for Yee, call us now. It's The Breakfast Club, the old miserable bitches. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 01:14:40 We are The Breakfast Club. It's time for Ask Yee. Hello, who's this? This is Anthony. Anthony, what's up, bro? Where you calling from? Calling from T-Town, Thomason, Georgia. Okay, Georgia.
Starting point is 01:14:52 All right. Well, what's your question for Ye, bro? I started working, and I was talking to this girl, and we became friends. And long story short, you know, we started talking, hanging out and everything, and hooking up and everything. But it turns out that she had a boyfriend. Well, you know, she told me the same story, you know. Oh, well, you know, I'm trying to leave him, this, that and the other. You know, no big deal, you know, whatever. So, you know, we continue to have our little relationship and everything. You
Starting point is 01:15:19 know, she leaves him a couple of times, they get back together. And then at this point, I'm just like, you know, whatever. Well, now she's pregnant. And it's one of them things where she told me, I think she's like two months now. And she had told me that she found out that her conception was around the 20th. And it just so happens that that was one of the last times that we had sex. But at the same time, her boyfriend had sex with her too. So she doesn't know whose baby it is. Well, see, the thing is, though, you know,
Starting point is 01:15:50 I feel strongly that it's mine because on the 20th, she said her daughter said that is when she had the conception. You know, that's when it was the conception, which doesn't make sense to me because that's when she started her period. And we had sex literally on the 17th. So it's like, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:16:06 I feel strongly that that's my child, but I don't know. I just don't know what to do in that situation, you know? A couple of different things, Anthony. Number one, you are not sure that that's your child yet. So it will be important for you to get a DNA test. It can't be just a feeling that it's yours. You have to know 99% chance that that's your child. So before you jump out the window, just make sure that's your child.
Starting point is 01:16:28 In the meantime, you can be supportive. But at the end of the day, you know, it's her decision. She's going to have the baby, right? Yes, yes, yes. And I mean, you know, I don't have a problem, you know, with her having the baby. You know, it would be my first child. But it's just I don't want to I don't want to raise a child in a broken home. You know, that's my thing. And, you know, right now she's going through this thing where she doesn't know, you know, it would be my first child. But it's just I don't want to I don't want to raise a child in a broken home. You know, that's my thing. And, you know, right now she's going through this thing where she doesn't know, you know, if she basically told me yesterday that she needs time to herself because she said that he's annoying her and I'm annoying her. But it's like, I don't know. I just feel so strongly that it's my child.
Starting point is 01:16:59 And, you know, I don't want to. Yeah, a lot of people have felt strongly that a child was theirs only to find out that it wasn't. So don't get too attached to that idea because we don't want you to have your heart broken. But we do want you to step up if that is your child. So another thing, are you trying to figure out because you said you don't want to raise a child in a broken home, is this somebody you want to potentially have a relationship with? Yeah, for sure. I mean, that's the reason why I continue talking to her, you know? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:17:25 I do want to applaud her for her honesty because some people might not be honest about a situation like that and try to say, this is your baby, but she's letting you know
Starting point is 01:17:33 it could be yours and she said it could potentially be her ex's, right? Yeah. I mean, she's been honest with me the entire time, so that's another reason, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:17:41 I respect that. Right. So all you can do is wait and see. And, you know, even if you decide you want to pursue a relationship and uh afterward and you find out that's a decision that you guys will make at that time but you also have to respect her saying that she wants some time to herself and just be supportive during this time I'm sure right now hormones are all over the place she's also confused but at least she's being straight up
Starting point is 01:18:03 about everything it's not an easy situation for her to be in. She doesn't know for sure that she wants to be with you, so let's just say no pressure at this time. And I think even for yourself, you have to wait and find out if this child is yours. And don't be in love with the fact that you're having a baby until you know you've had a baby.
Starting point is 01:18:19 Yeah. Yeah. You're right. Yeah. All right. But we do love the fact that you're right. You're right. Yeah. All right. But we do love the fact that you're willing to be responsible and step up once this child is born. If it is yours, you'll be there as a father, even if you guys aren't together, right? Yes, ma'am.
Starting point is 01:18:36 Of course. Of course. Of course. I mean, that's all I want, you know? Well, that's commendable. All right. So good luck, Anthony. Check in with us and let us know what happens six months from now.
Starting point is 01:18:46 All right, I sure will. All right. Can't you find out before the baby's born, too, and do a DNA test? Yeah, they do prenatal DNA tests, but, you know. It's a little dangerous. Yeah, she says something about it being like $1,600. I was like, that's ridiculous. I've never heard nothing like that.
Starting point is 01:19:01 She sent me some email where it was like that. And, you know, so I'm probably going to, we're probably going to try to do that. So I don't know. I don't know. It's just a lot because I don't, part of me wants to know. But at the same time, I'm scared because I feel like if it's not mine, then, you know, then I can't have a relationship with it. I don't know. It's, you know, it's just one of them situations.
Starting point is 01:19:20 I don't know. Yeah. Let's find this out first and then you can make your decision once you know all the facts. Sometimes you need to know all the information and you have to be patient to find that out. And if she wants to do that non-invasive prenatal paternity tests while pregnant, she can do that. That's up to you guys. If you want to wait till the baby's born and do it, that's up to you guys. But I do feel like, you know, it seems like you want to know sooner than later. I think we lost him. Okay.
Starting point is 01:19:46 All right. Good luck. Good luck, brother. Thank you. Y'all have a good day. All right. Ask Yee. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 01:19:55 If you need relationship advice, hit Yee right now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're in the middle of Ask Yee. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 01:20:07 Hey, what's your question for Ye? Yes, sir. Yes, we are. Hopefully you are too. A little something like that. I'm an essential worker. I do a little essential work, but we're not even going to get into that. Well, thank you. No problem.
Starting point is 01:20:22 I have a question. Let's just say you guys, you and your significant other take a break she's your responsible and you decide to be honest about what she was doing on that break should you be held liable for the things that you did on that break or no well if you guys both agreed to take a break and she's allowed to see other people and you're allowed to see other people then you know what you did during that time is fair game. However, if you guys had an agreement during a break that we're not going to see
Starting point is 01:20:50 other people, we're just taking a break from each other, then that's different. But if you guys just were like, okay, we don't know if this is working, we're taking a break, then no, you should not be held liable. All right, because I'm just saying, because it's not my fault that whatever I was deciding
Starting point is 01:21:07 to do and the amount of things I decided to do should not play any role because you didn't decide to do anything. Correct? That's all I really want to know. Yeah, no, and she had every right to do whatever she wanted to do if she chose not to do anything. Now, I will say this. As a woman, if we took a break because you cheated on me, you were lying to me, and then we took a break, and you was
Starting point is 01:21:27 banging other chicks, then I'll be like, damn, he really not trying to get back with me. Black men don't cheat. I wouldn't say I cheated, but... That's right, brother. Black men don't cheat. Okay, but so what was the reason y'all took a break? I don't know, communication. I think it was just more
Starting point is 01:21:44 so we wasn't seeing eye to eye on things. I was just, it was an even split, but, you know, the feelings are still there. Just because I go out here and do whatever I do, whatever I want to do, just because I went out there and did whatever I did on a break, doesn't mean I don't care about it. So, you know, we tried to make it work. See, we can't process that. And you got to understand when you're honest with somebody,
Starting point is 01:22:04 you can't control how they might react to your honesty. So if you tell me you did all of these things in my head, I'm thinking, damn, I thought he was home trying to figure out how we're going to get back together. Missing me. Now she's thinking you had an amazing time while I was depressed and sad. And that's not a good feeling. I mean, I wouldn't say she was necessary. She probably was depressed and sad, but she was trying,
Starting point is 01:22:27 but she couldn't take herself to that next level to do anything with somebody. So I'm not going to say it's not my fault she couldn't do that. But if you give me a whole pass, let's just say, God forbid, you know, you guys end up on a little break or whatever. Wouldn't you guys start talking to other people? Yeah, but you know what? If we got back together, I wouldn't want to picture my man with somebody else
Starting point is 01:22:51 after he's been with me. That's a hard thing to picture. So I think you do have to have some type of empathy for being in that situation. Just like I'm sure you wouldn't want to picture her with somebody else. You on top hitting it from the back or something like that.
Starting point is 01:23:05 And then you picture in another dude in that position and her screaming and he's bigger than you. And now you got to think about that every time. That'd be a fact, but. And fortunately for you, you don't have to think about that, but she does. So just bear that in mind when you're defending yourself. Also just understand where she's coming from. She didn't know if you guys want to get back together. You didn't.
Starting point is 01:23:27 So clearly you did what you did. And for us, we might equate doing things like that as you being emotionally connected to somebody else and also think about you with somebody else. And that's a hard thing, hard image to have in our heads. All right. I get what you're saying.
Starting point is 01:23:43 Right. So just, just while you're not wrong, just understand where she's coming from. All right. Got it. All right, guys. You guys have a good one.
Starting point is 01:23:53 Enjoy the rest of your quarantine. All right, man. He's like, I like what you had to say. And I will say, sometimes when things happen, it's not a matter of me being right and you being wrong. It's more of a matter of understanding how somebody else feels about something that happened, whether you were right or not. All right. Well, ask E.E.
Starting point is 01:24:12 800-585-1051 if you need relationship advice or any type of advice. You can hit E.E. at any time. Now, we got rumors on the way, E.E. Yes, we are going to be talking about, speaking of relationships, why did Regine and YFN Lucci break up? Well, on Family Hustle, she addresses it. All right, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. This is The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:24:29 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Regine. She's spilling the tea.
Starting point is 01:24:47 This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. So Regine and wife and Lucci are no longer together. And on Family Hustle, she discussed what happened that was the last straw for her in their relationship. After a long on and off again relationship, me and Lucci are finally done. I feel like he didn't have respect for me like he did at the beginning. Of course the cucumber party was the last straw for me. I feel like it's
Starting point is 01:25:14 not respectful for a man who's in a relationship to be there. There's certain things that you just don't do. Especially dating me. Somehow it all comes back to Boosie. That was the pool party that he had. Damn it, Boosie.
Starting point is 01:25:29 Yeah. Always Boosie's fault. I guess that's what caused her and YFN Lucci to break up because she felt like it wasn't respectful for him to be at that cucumber party. I feel her. All right. If your name is YFN, YFN got to stand for young, faithful. That's what YFN should stand for.
Starting point is 01:25:47 YFN Lucci. That's right. All right, Jack Scott. He put out a statement about this party that he had at his house last week, and he said it wasn't a party at all, just FYI, and he was very disappointed at the report. He said, I understand and accept that there are additional responsibilities and media scrutiny that come with being an NFL quarterback.
Starting point is 01:26:05 But it's very frustrating and disappointing when people provide completely inaccurate information from anonymous sources, especially now. He said, the truth is I was with fewer than 10 people for a home dinner, not a party on Friday night. I'm very sensitive to the challenges we are all facing and making sure to support the first responders and medical personnel and everyone else putting in long hours. We are all at a time and we need to keep educating ourselves about the importance of health and isolation during this pandemic. And I will continue to make sure to do my part
Starting point is 01:26:33 by following the guidelines. So he's saying it didn't go down. Like y'all said, it wasn't 30 people. It was less than 10 people at a dinner at his house. Wasn't it video though? Yeah, I thought it was video too. Hey, I thought it was video.. Yeah, I thought it was video. Look, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:26:47 I didn't see the video. I know I saw a video of a bunch of people in front of a spread of food. I didn't pay attention to what the actual number was, but whatever. Everybody just practice social distancing, please. All right, and DaBaby has announced the new album, Blame It On Baby.
Starting point is 01:27:02 He put it on Instagram this Friday, MF, and then he put hashtag I'm cut like that. So it is going to be a brand new album, Blame It On Baby. Y'all excited for that? Yeah, I want to hear new music. I love hearing new music. I want my Carolina brethren to keep his foot on these folks' neck. And if you see the album in two years.
Starting point is 01:27:22 He's wearing a face mask on the cover, just FYI. So you know it's current. It's his third album in two years, wearing a face mask on the cover just FYI, so you know it's courage. It's his third album in two years, flew to my guy Arnold Taylor. You know, I love what DaBaby is doing. He repping the Carolinas, especially Charlotte in a way that we've never seen because we've never seen it. He's the first person ever. Alright, and Cardi B jumped
Starting point is 01:27:40 on live yesterday with Bernie Sanders and one of the things they did talk about was coronavirus. Here's what happened. In Wuhan of the things they did talk about was coronavirus. Here's what happened. In Wuhan, ways that they are preventing people from spreading the virus is like they're controlling where are people going. Like every single time that people go out,
Starting point is 01:27:55 get out of their apartments, they have to like do a certain type of scanning. So when somebody goes to the hospital with the coronavirus, they can detect where you got the virus and they can advise you that you've been around a person that has the coronavirus, they can detect where you got the virus and they can advise you that you've been around a person that has the coronavirus. As
Starting point is 01:28:09 much as I would like the coronavirus to stop spreading, it's just I don't know, that's just too much information on the people. By the way, Cardi is also clearly still getting her nails done. Did y'all see her nails? I did see her nails done. Man, I'm jealous. Maybe she doing it myself.
Starting point is 01:28:26 Nah, I look like she had to put some extra thing on. I don't know, that's a lot. It's not easy to do your nails yourself as a lot of people are discovering as they try to do it at home. I just felt on my own. I would love to know what Cardi B considers essential. Somebody need to ask Cardi, what's essential to you, Cardi?
Starting point is 01:28:42 Clearly, it's the nail tech. Alright, and Diddy versus Jermaine Dupri. Would you love to see that battle? Well, BDOT, our guy Brian Millar, was on Instagram Live and he was talking to Jermaine Dupri and Diddy jumped in
Starting point is 01:28:58 also and joined that live in the comments and here's what happened. It was an era where the track masters didn't even exist. But when they did exist, they dominated, though. I did. We're not getting ready to do no I did.
Starting point is 01:29:11 Puff said, oh, shit. Puff said, track masters may smoke you. Puff is, track masters may smoke me. I love it. I love it.
Starting point is 01:29:22 Let's make something happen. Yeah. First of all, salute to my guy B-Dot for gassing that up. I love it. And I think that's a heavyweight championship match. You know what I'm starting to realize? A lot of people don't get the respect they deserve.
Starting point is 01:29:35 Jermaine Dupri is definitely one of those people, and that's for three reasons. I think, one, because he's from the South, so he comes from an era where people didn't respect the South, and I think a lot of folks still hold that over his head. They never got over that. Two, I don't think people have ever respected the rappers JD has signed. And three, because he's short.
Starting point is 01:29:52 Y'all always fronting on us vertically challenged folks. Y'all always fronting on us vertically challenged folks. No matter how much we show y'all our height, don't fight. I think it's those three reasons people don't respect JD. Because that's a heavyweight matchup. Now, I think it was because at the time, like you said, he was in the South. And at that time The South was trying To find their groove
Starting point is 01:30:07 And everybody was so New York So but JD got hits Don't like Don't effort JD JD got records JD got hits JD has writing credits
Starting point is 01:30:16 Jay-Z has performance credits JD Jay-Z I said JD Yeah I said JD I think I think
Starting point is 01:30:22 I think Diddy is still Trying to little brother JD Just because Diddy has always been that guy And I'm sure JD was looking up to Diddy at a certain point I even saw what BDOT tweeted when he said Diddy had hits since he was 19, that's hard to beat So did JD JD had crisscross when JD was like 18, 19
Starting point is 01:30:41 Crisscross rode 8 million records of jump Let's be clear, he's been in the business for a while. His dad is Michael Malden. Like, it's not a game over there. Yeah. Mariah, Usher.
Starting point is 01:30:50 He's got a family like that. That's going to be a good one. I can't wait for that one. Who y'all got? Who you got if you had to put money on it? I think in a battle like that, honestly,
Starting point is 01:30:57 it's a matter of preference. You know, my first thought, my first thought, my first feeling when you asked me that question is Bad Boy only because I've listened to so much Bad Boy throughout my life.
Starting point is 01:31:07 Plus, you got to factor in Diddy's Uptown Records. You know I'm an Uptown Records fanatic. That's my favorite record label of all time. So you got to factor in his A&R in there with Jodeci and Mary J. Blige. And then you got to come in with the Biggies and the Maces and the Lox and the Face and the 112s and the Totals. But then on the flip side, Jermaine got a whole arsenal over there, too. It's a lot of little sneaky records. You know what I heard the other day?
Starting point is 01:31:29 What's that? I heard Da Brat, because it was Da Brat's birthday. And I heard this, I think it was, I forgot what record it was, but I was like, damn, that record used to go hard. So I don't know, man. That's a heavyweight. My heart says Diddy, though. That's going to be a good one.
Starting point is 01:31:41 My heart says Diddy, but my loyalty to what J.D. has done for me in this industry and all the records that he's produced from Usher to Mariah Carey. It's not about loyalty, it's about who you think is going to win. J.D. This will be an interesting one. You know what it's going to depend on? What songs do they choose for the battle? That's really what it's going to depend on. And J.D. and DJ too.
Starting point is 01:32:01 And what songs they use. I'm going to go with Diddy only because of the Uptown Records fact. And, you know, I know that I've listened to way more Diddy over and over in my life, whether it was with Bad Boy, whether it was at Uptown. But Jermaine Dupri ain't no ho. That's all I'm trying to tell y'all. Stop acting like Jermaine Dupri is not heavyweight. All right, this is getting messy right now.
Starting point is 01:32:20 I'm Angela Yee, and that's your Rumor Report. Your phone sounds so crazy. But, I mean the bad thing about these battles is I don't know if people respect the R&B joints that he produced. Like when you play R&B in the battle, I don't know if people respect that, you know, but J.D.
Starting point is 01:32:35 got some numbers. He put some numbers on the board. Well, if that's the case then... We can discuss this as a topic more but you know rumor report's over. Yes. Real quick though, with that said, with the R&B records, that would handicap Diddy a lot, too, because Diddy got a lot of Jodeci, a lot of Mary J. Blige, a lot of 112, a lot of Faith, a lot of Total. Oh.
Starting point is 01:32:55 You would have to respect R&B. Yeah, you would have to respect R&B in that. Oh, that's going to be a good battle. I can't wait for that one, man. I'm all the way in. All right. Well, up next is the People's Choice Mix. Get your request in right now.
Starting point is 01:33:06 It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Everybody, it's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now we got to shout Nina Turner for joining us this morning. Salute to Senator Nina Turner. She speaks truth to power, and I am very pissed off
Starting point is 01:33:21 about what she said. You know, the fact that they don't want her to be a part of any of the task force. I think that's so whack, especially being that Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders are heading up these task force. And, you know, she's been out there being a surrogate for Bernie for all of these years. Bernie, you're not going to use your leverage. You know, I mean, your power to say, no, Nina Turner needs to be on one of these task force. Yeah, that's so whack. And you just can't put people in position who just agree with you all the time. Then things don't get
Starting point is 01:33:46 done. Exactly. Absolutely. Exactly. And listen, I want to salute to everybody who joined us this morning. We had a petty party in YBN Almighty J's mentions. We had a petty party this morning. One, because he's an anti-social distancer. And two, because he's a young clout chaser. He edited
Starting point is 01:34:02 a clip of the Breakfast Club on his page to act like we're not consistent with our messaging. So, yeah, we had to have a little petty party in his mentions. He had 550 comments before Donkey of the Day. I wanted to double that. And we're way past doubling that. Like 1,100, 1,100, 1,200 comments now.
Starting point is 01:34:21 So, yeah. Oh, good morning to you. Good morning. Good morning, YBN Almighty, Jay. Feel free. And please stay safe, by comments now. Oh, good morning to you. Good morning. Good morning, YBN Almighty J. Feel free. And please stay safe, by the way. I just want to put that out there for everybody. Even if you're doing stupid stuff and you get donkey of the day,
Starting point is 01:34:32 still, we want you to stay safe. And that's all it's about. Go to his page, YBN Almighty J, J-A-Y, and just leave the donkey emoji. Leave some hand claps. Celebrate him for getting the attention he wanted. But also leave a comment letting him know why he should social distance. That's very important as well.
Starting point is 01:34:49 Let's teach. Okay? Let's teach. These are moments to teach. All right. Well, when we come back, we have your positive note. Don't move. It's the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:34:57 Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now it's time to get up out of here. And today is Jackie Robinson Day, by the way. Happy Jackie Robinson Day to everybody out there. It's a day that you honor Jackie Robinson.
Starting point is 01:35:15 It's when he made his Major League debut. Yes, right. And I'm going to be DJing. You know, every year I do something with the Major League Baseball, something. But this year, of course, we're stuck at the crib. So I'm a DJ. Tonight at 7 p.m. Eastern time, I'm a DJ from 7 tonight. All about Jackie Robinson, all the contributions he made to baseball for us,
Starting point is 01:35:34 for our community, for African-Americans. So we're going to rock for him tonight from 7 to 9. For Brooklyn. So shout to Major League Baseball. All right. So we'll do that. Shout out to Corey Smith from MLB as well, too, by the way. And our guy, Harry O, too.
Starting point is 01:35:52 All right. Charlamagne, you got a positive note? Oh, and before you do the positive note, Charlamagne, I just want to shout out Donnell Rawlings. He looks like he got some heat coming for y'all today, man. He just sent me a little preview of a little Charlamagne and DJ Envy something that's about to happen today. Woo, he's coming with it. Yeah, Donnell has nothing
Starting point is 01:36:11 else to do with his time. Because all the other comedians are shut down. And you know, Donnell is the guy that whenever you see in friends on a lineup, he's always the in friends. So being that nobody's on the road right now, he has nothing to do but use us as
Starting point is 01:36:28 social media content. So carry on Darnell. We'll see you in a year. Y'all gonna love it though. You'll be back on stage in a year. Hope you've been saving up, sir. You got a positive note? Yes, the positive note is simply this. It is only in our darkest hours that we may discover the
Starting point is 01:36:44 true strength of the brilliant light within ourselves that can never, ever be dimmed. Breakfast club, bitches! You all finished or you all done? Hey guys, I'm Kate Max.
