Starting point is 00:00:00 Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:00:16 What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. We need help! That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast
Starting point is 00:00:46 Post Run High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. For some reason, the solid, hold it down, the beige rage, and the agitator.
Starting point is 00:01:46 The Breakfast Club. Everyone just kept telling me to prep for this. One word to describe the Breakfast Club would be black. Impacting the culture. People watch the Breakfast Club for, like, news and really be tuned in, man. I don't even know what they call the Breakfast Club. It's like brunch. Envy, ye, and Charlemagne.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Wake that ass up, get out of bed, and listen to The Breakfast Club. I'm waking up. Good morning, Angela Yee. Good morning, DJ Envy. Charlamagne Tha God. Peace to the planet. It's Friday. Today's our last day on Revolt.
Starting point is 00:02:34 Envy, they asked, can you please reconnect? Oh. Yeah, please. Can they please reconnect? It's their last day. They're the ones disconnected. Yeah, no, I was good. All right, I'm back on. Hey, Revolt, good morning. Yeah, this is their last day. They're the ones disconnected. Yeah, no, I was good. All right, I'm back on.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Hey, Revolt, good morning. Yeah, this is our last day on Revolt. Shout to Revolt. We had a great run with you guys. What was it, like four years, five years? I don't know. And ironically enough, here we are at the Revolt Summit in Atlanta. On our last day at Revolt.
Starting point is 00:02:58 It's been way longer than that. Yeah, maybe way longer than that. I'd say at least seven. Yeah, maybe. Well, yeah, it is over for Revolt. Goddamn, bro. But it's over for us at least seven. Yeah, maybe. Well, yeah, it is over for Revolt. Yeah, we're not doing Revolt. God damn, bro. But it's over for us in Revolt.
Starting point is 00:03:09 I'm a misrevolter. A lot of people watch us in Revolt. You said it's over for Revolt. In us, it is. It's the truth. You said it like, hey, done. No, actually, Angelina and I are in Atlanta right now for Revolt. What do they call it now?
Starting point is 00:03:22 I know before it was the music conference. What do they call it now? The Revolt Summit. The Revolt Summit. The Revolt Summit. So she had a panel yesterday. I have a panel this morning. Yeah, I hosted a pitch competition. By the way, it was five pitches
Starting point is 00:03:32 that were competing for this prize, right, from AT&T. And what was nice about it was they all were amazing. They've already been vetted out. So any single one of them could have won. It was some great ideas. I was like, this would be some good things
Starting point is 00:03:44 to invest in. Mm, okay. Yeah, well, shout out to everybody at Revolt. Now have won it with some great ideas. I was like, this would be some good things to invest in. Okay. Yeah, well, shout out to everybody at Revolt. Now, today we got a great show. Soulja Boy will be joining us this morning. Big Soulja. Big Draco. He'll be in the building,
Starting point is 00:03:54 so we'll kick it with Big Draco and also Anthony Anderson. He's going to swing by for a little bit. All right. That is a very active show. That sounds like a great show to me. On a Friday. That's right.
Starting point is 00:04:04 You all right? Excuse me. All right, let's get the show cracking. I don't know great show to me. On a Friday. That's right. You all right? Excuse me. All right. Let's get the show cracking. I don't know. She coughing. She choking. I don't know what that was.
Starting point is 00:04:09 I was eating an apple and something got stuck a little bit. Kobe! No. All right. Well, front page news. What are we talking about, Yeezy? Well, we'll talk about Ahmaud Arbery, his shooting trial, and we'll talk about the defendants. An attorney for one of the three white men accused of murder and the death of Ahmaud
Starting point is 00:04:24 Arbery now has an objection. And it sounds ridiculous. All right, we'll get into all that when we come back. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy Angelique.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news. Yeah, that was New Beyonce. But for what soundtrack? Wish I could have heard it. King Richard? Off the King Richard soundtrack, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:46 You didn't hear it? I heard it. I mean, I could hear the Takeover sample. Well, what song did Takeover sample? Takeover sample something, but it was that sample. Okay, all right. Well, in Thursday Night Football, the Dolphins beat the Ravens 22-10. And now Odell Beckham Jr. has signed with the Los Angeles Rams.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Is that good? Is that great? Is that good for him or is that good for the Rams? What do you think? I mean, that's great for him. I mean, it just depends on how much Odell Beckham has left in the tank. The Rams are balling this year. He's definitely on a contender. He's second in the NFC West.
Starting point is 00:05:22 And Cam Newton is re-signing with the Carolina Panthers. That's right. For, I think, like $10 million for the rest of the year. He's back home. No, I don't think it was that much. I think it was only guaranteed. I don't have to say only, but guaranteed like $4 to $5 million, something like that.
Starting point is 00:05:36 No, he got guaranteed $4 to $5, but if he plays out this season, it's $10 million. All right. Now, what else you got, Yeezy? I don't know how that works. All right. Well, let's talk about the Ahmaud Arbery shooting trial that's happening right now. And the defense attorney for William Roddy Bryan, he's the one that filmed everything. That attorney is saying that he does not want any of these black pastors in the courtroom.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Here is Kevin Goff. I have nothing personally against Mr. Sharpton. My concern is that I believe that's intimidating and it's an attempt to pressure or influence the jury. To my knowledge, Reverend Al Sharpton has no church in Glynn County, never has. Obviously, there's only so many pastors they can have. And if there are pastors Al Sharpton right now, that's fine. But then that's it. We don't want any more black pastors coming in here or other.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Jesse Jackson, whoever was in here earlier this week, sitting with the victim's family, trying to influence a jury in this case. Sitting with the family? The family can't have whoever they want in there? After their son was killed, their brother was killed? I mean, that sounds ridiculous. It does. Al Sharpton actually responded on MSNBC with
Starting point is 00:06:46 Rachel Maddow this morning. Here's what he had to say. The family has the right to choose who they want to sit with them. You must understand the setting. They're sitting in a courtroom looking at the three men that killed their son and the families of those
Starting point is 00:07:01 men sitting there. That is a very tense and trying situation for a mother and a father to sit with. And if they want a minister there, someone to console them, that is their choice. But he didn't just say that he didn't want a public figure or something. He said black pastors. So if it was a white pastor, is it all right? How do we know if pastors are not sitting with the defendant's family? And I think this
Starting point is 00:07:28 is an outrage and I think it is absolutely insulting to all people regardless of their feelings on this case. Man, racism is just racism. Simple and plain. Okay, and what it sounds like he's saying is this case is already high profile enough. We
Starting point is 00:07:44 don't need Negroes like Al Sharpton coming in here bringing more attention to this case because when these guys get off or get a light sentence, we don't need people tearing this town up. And Al's presence may incite a riot. That's that's that's what that white man is saying. At least that's what I heard without hearing. Right. And they're saying, look, as long as it's a public courtroom, anybody can come as long as they're not disruptive and it's not a distraction to the jury or anything else going on in the courtroom, then there's nothing that's not in compliance. And also, I want to apologize.
Starting point is 00:08:14 I called him a white man. He's not a white man. He's a crack-ass cracker. Good morning. Well, that is your front page news. All right. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051.
Starting point is 00:08:24 If you need to vent, hit us up right now. Again. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up right now. Again, 800-585-1051. And don't forget, Soulja Boy and Anthony Anderson will be joining us this morning. So keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. This is your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or blessed.
Starting point is 00:08:44 You better have the same energy. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Good morning, Breakfast Club. Let me just first off start off saying thank you, God. Thank you, Jesus. We found the young girl from East Tarn, the missing young girl. Oh, that's beautiful.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Yeah, so beautiful. I just want to thank a few people. I want to thank activists Donna Jackson and Kareem Williams from the Get It Done crew for just bringing the attention after the two weeks, no attention. I want to thank Dinesha, my community daughter, who did a technique that we normally do. She did that on Wednesday. They blocked off the street.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Went and talked with the March to the City Hall, talked with the mayor. Me and Ted Green came out, spoke with them. But Charlamagne, I want to thank the Breakfast Club because let me tell you guys something. When you guys get the information, it goes national. And when you guys had that to go national, it got in action.
Starting point is 00:09:48 And we found her. So I don't know all the details. Did they find her safe and sound? Was she like, you know, good? I believe she's safe, but there's a lot of other things that's going on. May need you to recommend your therapist for her. Oh, definitely.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I also want to say that I think that any money that the mom raised with that GoFundMe, she should give it back to the people because it was not needed. So I think that that should happen. But again, I just want to thank everybody involved. And I just want her to be okay. So I think she's really going to need a therapist, y'all know what I mean? So I know you said if there's anything you could do, but that may be what you can do. I'm going to have somebody show me how to DM you for that assistant.
Starting point is 00:10:31 And I want one more thing. No, definitely. I want one more thing to ask you guys. Can you do for me every now and then, Charlamagne, because it's from your home state. Can you just keep us abreast of the Sanaa Emotep case? You know, the young girl I told you from Newark, her father, Sharice Emotep, who was shot 11 times
Starting point is 00:10:48 and left with her favorite blanket covering her in the woods in South Carolina by her friend. And the friend's boyfriend lured her out the house and, again, shot her 11 times and left her. So every now and then, when Angela's doing the front page news, if you guys let us know what's going on with that case, I would love it.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Again, thank you, guys. All right, we got you. Peace, queen. Thank you, mama. That's a blessing. They found her in New York. They're saying that it does seem that she was abducted, but they still haven't released all the information.
Starting point is 00:11:18 All right. Hello, who's this? This is Shazna. Hey, get it off your chest. You know, I just wanted to say I love listening to y'all. Y'all help me every morning. And what up, though, from Detroit? What up, though?
Starting point is 00:11:31 What up, though? What up, though? And Angela, when you need a new guest for lip service? I'm trying to get on this show. Where are you going? You in Detroit still? Yes, I live here. What's your qualifications?
Starting point is 00:11:43 Tell me what you do so that I can know what you want to talk about. I do a lot of things for radio and broadcasting, so I do have experience with that. I recently had my own podcast, but I'm trying to rebrand everything and start fresh with my own show. All right, it's Freaky Friday. Give me a topic. Let's say it's Freaky Friday. What's your dark fantasy? All right, what is it? Friday. What's a dark fantasy?
Starting point is 00:12:05 All right. What is it? Mine is doing something in the car and somewhere real dark in the park where nobody can see you. Sounds like a horror movie waiting to happen. Yeah. Thank you for calling with your freaky ass. All right. DM me, girl.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. I'm darling. I'm darling.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Hey, what you doing, man? I'm darling. I'm calling you. This is your time to get it off your chest. Whether you're mad or blessed. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this?
Starting point is 00:12:48 This is Kevin. Hey, Kevin. Get it off your chest. I want to get off my chest the fact that I can't go to Walmart and buy a Gatorade and a PlayStation 5. That just don't make no sense to me. You mean to tell me you don't have either one? Why can't you buy a Gatorade and a PlayStation 5?
Starting point is 00:13:03 What happened? They don't have either one of them. Every time you go, they're out. They're sold out. You go down the aisle and you look for Gatorade, it's all sold out except for the diet Gatorade. And who wants that? What's the correlation, sir? I don't know. I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:13:19 I don't know if it's COVID. I don't know what the issue is. Well, it is COVID. Things are behind. But if you go to the gas station, they have Gatorade. But you should be checking out Angelie's drink that's in a lot of stores and my water that's in a lot of stores. So that's what you should be drinking, sir.
Starting point is 00:13:32 All right. I'm going to get out of shot. But what are we going to do about the PlayStation 5? Hey, what grade, Kush, what grade of weed are you smoking this morning? Zero. None. I can't smoke. Oh, so you just woke up with these thoughts. Why don't you go to PC Rich smoking this morning? Zero. None. I can't smoke. Oh, so you just woke up with these thoughts.
Starting point is 00:13:47 Why don't you go to PC Richie and get some? You got a PC Richie by you? They usually have PS5s. Oh, no. I'm in Columbia, South Carolina. I don't even know what that is. Oh, sorry. I don't know. I can't help you no problem. 803. What's happening? Yeah, he definitely don't know what a PC Richie is in Columbia, South Carolina.
Starting point is 00:14:02 It's like a Best Buy, sir. Yeah, it's like a Best Buy. Go to Best Buy. Hello, who's this? South Carolina. It's like a Best Buy, sir. Yeah, it's like a Best Buy. Go to Best Buy. Hello, who's this? Good morning, it's Blind Beauty. Hey, Blind Beauty. Haven't heard from you in a long time. How you been doing? I know.
Starting point is 00:14:13 I'm good. I'm about to tell you guys why. Long story short, I've been kind of off of the radar, still working on music, but I also was carrying my first child. Wow, congratulations. Yay my son is here and I'm basically going to be I guess showing the world like a perspective from a blind person point of view like a lot of things happen during my pregnancy and people don't think that a blind woman can do a lot of things so yeah, yeah, like, my son is here. He's healthy.
Starting point is 00:14:47 And I'm going to be basically showing the world how a blind woman can take care of a child with breastfeeding and everything. That's dope. So, that's why I've been on. So, you know. How old's the baby? If you guys want to say soon, he is three weeks old tomorrow. Wow.
Starting point is 00:15:04 So, brand, brand new. Congratulations. That's amazing. Congratulations. I don't know this movie, Don't Breathe. I was watching this on the plane, Don't Breathe Part 2. I don't know if y'all have seen that. I started watching.
Starting point is 00:15:14 I fell asleep, though. He owns this house. He's in Detroit, and he's blind. But they come in there, and he be wrecking everybody. Okay? I'm going to watch it. Yeah. But the series is going to be called Becoming Mommy.
Starting point is 00:15:28 And, you know, if you want to follow me on Instagram to stay tuned for it, Your Blind Beauty, definitely we do that. And, you know, like I said, like this time I've been taking time for music. Thank God my studio is not far from here. So I've been still tapped in writing. Starting point is 00:15:58 i'm gonna send you something for the baby okay and, congratulations to you and your wife. I had DM'd Gia when you guys had announced it or whatever, because we were pregnant at the same time, and I didn't tell the world. Yeah, she's almost due. The baby should be here any day now. The baby's in position. The due date is on the 26th, but any day now. 26th of what? November?
Starting point is 00:16:21 November, yep. I was due on the 18th, but he came early. So y'all see that in the series about why I had to deliver early and everything. Well, I'm going to send you some stuff for the baby. What's the baby's name? Jack. Jack. All right.
Starting point is 00:16:34 Shout out to little Jack. I'm going to send a little Jack a little something. Jack. J-A-X-X. Jack. Oh, Jacks. Jacks. Like my little son Jackson.
Starting point is 00:16:41 Hey, Jacks. All right. Thank you, Blonde Beauty. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, you can hit us up. Now, we got rumors on the way? Yes, and Halle Berry reveals that she used to be a stripper.
Starting point is 00:16:55 We'll give you some more details as she was talking to Cardi B. All right, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? The Breakfast Club. pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tribe own country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh, my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help!
Starting point is 00:17:49 We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories,
Starting point is 00:18:28 their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. You know that rush of endorphins you feel after a great workout? Well, that's when the real magic happens. So if you love hearing real, inspiring stories from the people you know, follow, and admire admire join me every week for post run high it's where we take the conversation beyond the run and get into the heart of it all it's light-hearted pretty crazy and very fun listen to post run high on the i heart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember
Starting point is 00:19:08 having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments.
Starting point is 00:19:42 Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk Halle Berry.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Listen up. It's just in. All the gossip. Gossip. The Rumor Report. Gossip. Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's The Rumor Report. The Breakfast Club. Well, we discussed Halle Berry and her movie Bruised. As you know, she has a soundtrack that's all female hip-hop artists for the movie. And Cardi B co-executed produced the soundtrack. So the two of them sat down for a segment called Five Rounds,
Starting point is 00:20:40 where they ask each other about spicy topics. Now, just for clarity, Cardi B, when she retweeted the post, she revealed that Halle Berry, she said her skin is so soft, I wanted to bite her shoulder. All right. So here is some of the things they talked about. For instance, Halle Berry discussed working in a strip club. Have you ever been to a strip club? A strip club?
Starting point is 00:21:03 Yes. Yes. I stripped. For real? For real. You want to hear the story yes i do i sure do so in one of my movies called the last boy scout i played a stripper so i had to go try it out so i went to girls girls girls on sunset and i stripped for two days for two nights to see what it felt like and see how much money i would get i did good I wanted to do the people in there
Starting point is 00:21:26 know that was Holly Berry that was in there dancing. Oh, this was before she was like Holly, Holly. I don't remember that movie. That movie was back in 1991. The Last Boy Scout.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Oh, maybe not then. You're right. They might not have known it was her name. And I'm sure if she put a wig on, you know, you really look different.
Starting point is 00:21:42 All right. So another thing they discussed. Yeah, but they didn't know who she was back then. I'm sure. And they also discussed if they would wake up one morning and be the opposite sex. What's the first thing you do if one day you woke up as the opposite sex?
Starting point is 00:21:57 Oh, I'm going to have to swing it. I'm peeing with it. I'm going to play with it. Oh, f*** it. I want to see what it feels like. Yeah, I want to see with it. I'm going to play with it. Oh, f*** it. I want to see what it feels like. Yeah, I want to see how it feels like. I wonder if they orgasm the same way. I know.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Or is it better? Do you think ours is better or theirs is better? Sometimes it seems like theirs is better, but I just can't believe God would do that to us. What would y'all do? That's a trick question, though. It's a trick question. Wake up with a regular one or a small one. Well, what would y'all do if you woke up one day to opposite sex?
Starting point is 00:22:30 With a vagina? Yeah. I don't know. Like, is there anything you feel like, I'll do this? No, never thought about it. Never crossed my mind. I really haven't. I haven't thought about it.
Starting point is 00:22:42 I would have to give that some thought. Think about it. We'll come to give that some thought. Think about it. We'll come back to you guys. All right. Now, Kiki Palmer was on The View, and she definitely went, and you got to shoot your shot. And here's what she had to say. I got to shoot my shot like I did with Issa.
Starting point is 00:22:55 I heard that Tyler Perry is doing Sister Act 3. I just want you to know I'm available for the job, any job. I mean, you ain't got to say nothing now you know I'll send you an email something just let me know I already brought it up yeah no please come on Kiki
Starting point is 00:23:15 stop alright y'all hashtag booked alright now that she would be amazing in that by the way Kiki Palmer is killing it. Close mouth don't get fed. I disrespect the fact that she's not afraid to shoot her shot publicly. That's the best way to do it, too. Like you said. All right. Now, 50 Cent, it looks like he's hinting at doing a new show.
Starting point is 00:23:38 And this is going to be around Snoop Dogg's infamous 1994 murder trial. He posted a picture of Snoop in court and said, I'm afraid this is going to be a problem for everything on TV. A moment in time, murder was the case. When the dream you've been wishing for feels like a nightmare, you think you know, you have no idea. Snoop Dogg's story is crazy. Boom. Green light gang, I don't miss.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Nah, he don't miss right now. Nah, I saw that. Oh, go ahead, what'd you say? Nah, I was going to say, he don't miss right now. I know he got a bunch of shows that they're about to announce and then he's also overseas shooting a movie.
Starting point is 00:24:10 He's not missing right now. He got so much on his plate right now, it's ridiculous. He definitely does. And the concept for that film is hard. And I saw that yesterday.
Starting point is 00:24:18 The only thing I was thinking was like, how do you handle that? You know, because there was a murder. You know what I mean? So there's another family out there who lost somebody. So I just wonder how you handle that, you know, because there was a murder. You know what I mean? So there's another family out there who lost
Starting point is 00:24:28 somebody. So I just wonder how you handle a situation like that. So I can't wait to see how 50 does it. And since we're talking movies and TV, Young Miami posted that she just finished her first movie, Young Miami the Actress. I can see it. We're here for it. I think that'll
Starting point is 00:24:43 be dope to see Young Miami in some movies. Alright, and that is your rumor report. Alright, thank you, Miss Yee. Now, front page news next, what are we talking about? Man, this is sad. I hate to do this on a Friday, but this is an important conversation. We'll talk about a 10-year-old girl
Starting point is 00:25:00 who died by suicide. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Alright, we'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. Novartis created the More Than Just Words initiative
Starting point is 00:25:13 to raise awareness about racial disparities in breast cancer care. To learn more about what More Than Just Words hopes to accomplish and hear a talk with Grammy-nominated R&B artist Jasmine Sullivan, visit morethanjustwords.us. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 00:25:31 It's DJ Envy Angelique. Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get some front-page news. Now on Thursday Night Football, the Dolphins beat the Ravens 22-10. Now, also, Odell Beckham, it looks like he's been traded or he's signed with the Los Angeles Rams.
Starting point is 00:25:49 And Cam Newton is back in the Carolinas. All right. Now what else we got, Yeezy? Well, I told you this is a really difficult story to talk about, but it's important.
Starting point is 00:25:59 Salt Lake City Police confirmed this week they are investigating the death of Isabella Izzy Tishanor as a suicide. Apparently she was only 10 years old and she had been getting bullied at school. Other students called
Starting point is 00:26:11 her the N-word. They told her that she was smelly. They made fun of her for being autistic. Now the family reported the bullying, the teachers as well as school and district administrators, but nothing was done to stop the harassment. Really sad. And they're concerned also about the other siblings that she has at the school, too.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Can you imagine at 10 years old and having to deal with that? No, not at all. And the teachers knew nothing? Nobody seen this before? There was no problems, no incidents or anything? Well, they complained to the teachers and to the administrators. I can definitely imagine at 10 years old having to deal with that. I mean, because, you know, that's how kids are.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Kids are very, very cruel. The problem is that, you know, no adults intervened in this situation because it's not like back in the day where you can just, you know, tell little kids to man up, you know. By the way, you couldn't do that back in the day either. That wasn't good for us back in the day, but now with social media and everything else, man, these kids are constantly getting
Starting point is 00:27:09 bullied and ridiculed and it never stops and eventually they crack. And this is what happened in this case. Now, Izzy's death comes about two weeks after a federal civil rights investigation found widespread racial harassment of black and Asian American students at Davis school district.
Starting point is 00:27:25 There were hundreds of documented cases of uses of the N word and other racial slurs over the last five years. Black students said that there were experiences of white and non-black students calling them the N word, calling them monkeys or apes saying their skin was dirty or look like feces. They also made monkey noises at the black students, repeatedly referencing slavery and lynching and telling them to go pick cotton and you are my
Starting point is 00:27:49 slave. Yeah, they get it from their mamas and they crack ass cracker daddies and they be at home listening to their parents talk and the adults around them talk and they bring it to the school. Alright, so our condolences to that family of young Izzy.
Starting point is 00:28:06 A hundred percent. Absolutely. And in some good news, a Maryland high school teacher won a $1 million global teacher prize. Keisha Thorpe is her name. And she told NBC News she goes so hard for her students because my story is their story. Listen to this. Education is a human right and all children should be entitled to have access to it. So this recognition is not just about me, but about all the dreamers who work so hard and dare to dream of ending generational poverty.
Starting point is 00:28:39 This is to encourage every little black boy and girl that looks like me and every child in the world that feels marginalized and has a story like mine and felt they never mattered. We must ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed. Keisha Thorpe is a teacher at the International High School at Langley Park, and she was selected for more than 8,000 nominations and also applications from 121 countries around the world. So it's an annual prize that's organized. She grew up in Jamaica, and she came to the U.S. on a track and field scholarship. Wow. So congratulations.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Congrats to her, absolutely. Yes, that's really, really dope. So that's some good news, at least, to end with on a Friday. All right, that is your front page news. All right, now when we come back, Big Draco is here. Soulja Boy will be joining us. Soulja. We'll talk to him next.
Starting point is 00:29:31 So don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary?
Starting point is 00:29:42 Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia.
Starting point is 00:29:58 I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I trade my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warheads. Oh my god.
Starting point is 00:30:18 What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you.
Starting point is 00:31:47 Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves, for self-preservation and protection. It was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like, grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. We got the first artist to ever get an apology from Ye. The first artist to pay dice in The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Big Draco. Big Draco. Not the first artist to smoke. Big Draco. Not the first artist to smoke with The Breakfast Club. What's good, my brother? How you feeling this morning? I feel great, man.
Starting point is 00:33:00 How y'all feeling? I like that Montclair. That's very fresh. Man, it's cold out here in New York, man. It ain't cold, man. It's 65 degrees. Look at you. You look cold. You got a beanie on, Nike tracksuit. Somebody that ain't cold.
Starting point is 00:33:11 You had some smoke for Charlemagne a couple months ago. Charlemagne said something wild you didn't like, and you had some smoke for him, man. Smoke. I didn't feel that way. Oh, no, no, no, no. It was just, Charlemagne said I went from Atlanta. Playing with me, Charlemagne the guy, breakfast club.
Starting point is 00:33:24 What the f*** did you talk about? I'm not from Atlanta. Nigga, where the f*** I'm from, nigga? Yeah, because you told us you was from Compton. You're not from Compton? I am from Bompton. You're from Compton? Yeah, I'm from Bompton, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:34 I thought you from Mississippi somewhere. Nah, nah, I'm from Bompton. I'm from California, Bompton, yeah. Bompton? How did you tell us? No, we never said that. You take that, big soldier. Come on, same difference, man.
Starting point is 00:33:45 It's not the same difference now. Same difference. Nah, but it's love, though, you know what I'm saying? Charlamagne knows it's our love, like, you know what I'm saying? And he cleared it up, like, the same day, you feel me? I f*** a big soldier. Yes, he should. Now, you were quoting Soulja Boy the other day
Starting point is 00:33:57 and kept playing a drop from something he said. What was it? Oh, play it. That was hilarious. Hold on, we got it? Everything that come out my mother your mouth is hard. Pause.
Starting point is 00:34:09 There was no pause. Shottie Mae ran that back like five times. I was like, calm down. Because Draco so entertaining, man. No, I just mean musically. Like I was talking about like everything that I rap. We know what you meant. I know exactly what you meant.
Starting point is 00:34:22 I know what you meant. It just sounded funny when you said it. I know exactly what you meant. I know exactly what you meant. I know what you meant. It just sounded funny when you said it. I know exactly what you meant. You know how the internet be. I had to explain that one. So you and Kanye got up. Did he just text you? Did y'all call?
Starting point is 00:34:32 He apologized. Was that a true text? Kanye posted it on his Instagram. He think he gonna post fake text. Okay, I'm just asking. So you didn't feel like you owe Kanye an apology? What? I mean, you did talk about Kim and say he was...
Starting point is 00:34:44 What'd I say about his wife? You said something like I was the first one. They still married? I thought they got divorced. They're not divorced yet. He said that's his wife on Drink Champs, Draco.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Okay, my fault. I be reading the headlines and all I seen was divorce. So I thought they were divorced. Through the process right now. Process. He didn't sell the papers yet. They said if you in the process
Starting point is 00:35:02 of getting a divorce, that mean y'all split for the moment, right? Okay, yeah, so I'm straight. Now, did Kanye reach out to you? Because, you know, Kanye, that's his thing. He'll pop s*** and then apologize. That's his thing.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Yeah, Kanye reached out, you know what I'm saying? It was just crazy. Like, that whole process of working, you know, doing the song and, you know what I'm saying? Like, I just had to, like, sit back for a minute and just be like, man. You know what I'm saying? But I like Kanye, though. Like, after we spoke, I just felt like, oh, okay minute and just be like, man. You know what I'm saying? But I like Kanye, though. After we spoke, I just felt like, oh, okay, he don't mean no harm.
Starting point is 00:35:29 But it probably confused you because he told you that your verse was hard in private, and then in public, he's telling people it's trash. So that was the only reason I responded the way that I did. Now, you was upset at first that your verse didn't make the album at first, and you responded a little crazy. And then he said it was trash trash and then you responded crazy again. So if he would have told you the verse was back in private,
Starting point is 00:35:48 would you have sent a different verse or would you have been offended? I would never be offended. Like, that's what we do music for, to be critiqued and to make it the best outcome. That's right. But you got to learn
Starting point is 00:35:59 how to communicate, too, at the same time. And you definitely can't be telling somebody this is a great piece of work and in your head, like, I don't really like it really like you know what i'm saying but people were telling me like well i was reading it was like oh he didn't want to hurt your feelings like bro my hurt my feelings bro you feel what i'm saying because you can't hurt my feelings because i know my hard who the express yourself who the is you to decide if the song hard or not?
Starting point is 00:36:25 Put the song out on the album and let the people decide. That was a good point. Now, if you were to put the album out and put the song out, and then people would have been saying, man, so is the trash. So is the song up. So then that's another thing. Let the people decide. Who the fuck is you?
Starting point is 00:36:37 Just because it's your album, you got to decide everything. Sometimes I don't like some shit. That's how it works. If it's your album, you decide what goes out. What's that? Here you go, Envy. What? That's selfish as a mother f***er.
Starting point is 00:36:48 Hold on. You said sometimes you put out stuff that you don't like? No. I like... Okay, look. Uh-oh. All right. Sometimes...
Starting point is 00:36:56 Get comfortable, big soldier. Get comfortable, big Draco. It's a soldier boy game. You know what I'm saying? Handheld constant. When I came the first time, y'all tried to play me. Now I got... Wrong show. That was y'all tried to play me now wrong show No, every day struggle tried to play you not us
Starting point is 00:37:09 No, you say it was do I need to rewind the clips and do this what you might I don't remember Oh boy, I mean I ain't gonna do you like that But it was just a little I didn't take kindly to what you said China knockoff. They said it was counterfeit. A little shit like that, but whatever, man. I don't remember that. Y'all did support. Y'all remember running a club back in 2019? I got my new video game. You know what I'm saying? They say that shit counterfeit is f***ing too now.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Is Nintendo suing you for that video game? My lawyer said I can't speak on that. I'm sorry, Envy. Complex has an email set up called soldierwatchtip at gmail.com for anyone who's ordered Soldier Boy products but haven't received them. This is the Soldier Boy video game right here.
Starting point is 00:37:46 It's a console. You know what I'm saying? It's a console. I support this. Whatever this is. Follow at Soulja Boy game on Instagram. Go to trdrpocket.com
Starting point is 00:37:55 or do you want or go to amazon.com and type in Soulja Boy game. Big Soulja. You're making millions off of that. Again, Soulja, you're making hundreds
Starting point is 00:38:02 of millions off of that. You're still gonna make your album. So when you make an album, you said artists shouldn't be selfish. Yeah when you make an album, you said, artists shouldn't be selfish. Yeah, man,
Starting point is 00:38:07 it's like, you gotta be open to work, like, different sounds, bro. All right, so check this out,
Starting point is 00:38:11 right? Kanye, you dropped the most trash shit. You ain't never dropped the trash song in your life. So that motherfucking
Starting point is 00:38:19 Yeezus album wasn't trash. I didn't like Yeezus. I didn't like Yeezus. A lot of people tell me that Yeezus grew on them, but I didn't like Yeezus when it came't like Yeezus. A lot of people tell me that Yeezus grew on them, but I didn't like Yeezus when he came out. So who am I to come to you and say, Kanye,
Starting point is 00:38:30 Yeezus was trash? If that's your opinion, you can say that. I know, but I'm not finna say that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Have you ever put out something that you didn't really like? No! Everything I put out is fire! You know what I'm saying? What I'm trying to say is, though, Kanye West west when you
Starting point is 00:38:45 making your album be more open bro that you think is trash probably hard to 100 million people why do you think i'm number one i'm number one on tick tock right you call me for a reason don't question that you don't know about what's going on you ain't in the streets like me you in church you in divorce court and s*** like that. You not, you know what I'm saying? You not where I'm at. I'm in the streets in the club. I know what's hot. Yeezy needs you. You needed me?
Starting point is 00:39:13 Would you call me for a reason? So if Kanye called you again and said, yo, Soulja, I want you on this next album, would you do it? Yeah, now, after we talk now, I'd do it. Alright, we got more with Soulja Boy. When we come back, don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with Soulja Boy. Now, what about Young Dolph? I see you got a problem with Young Dolph's artists. What happened with Key Glock? What about Key Glock?
Starting point is 00:39:41 What about Young Dolph? He talking about he the first rapper with a 3D billboard. Man, stop it, bro. He's independent. Young Dolph make $100,000 a show. He's independent. Young Dolph signed to Empire. Ghazi.
Starting point is 00:39:54 F*** it, that's not independent. I'm independent. Ricky Morty, 100%. All the money go to me, 100%. She make it clap. That's been uploaded just for me. S-O-D-M-G Records. And went viral number one on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:40:06 I get 100% of all the money. Ain't no middleman. Ain't no 10%. Ain't no 5%. Ain't no 1%. Everything come to me. I'm the real independent. I thought Dolph was independent.
Starting point is 00:40:15 No. Can't that just be a distribution deal where you are independent, but they're just distributing? No, no, no. That's a lot of, that's how you, that's no. I'm just asking you. No. Well, actually, no. That ain't how it work.
Starting point is 00:40:25 Independent is when you not signed to nobody at all. An independent label or a major label, no label. And you putting all the music out yourself. You not getting no money, no advance, no marketing dollars. Everything is just out of your pocket. So, yeah, they got mad because he said, I'm getting 100K or show and I'm independent. Why no other rappers doing it like me?
Starting point is 00:40:47 Bitch, I'm doing it just like you. How did this beef start now? It ain't no beef. You said Key Glock DM'd you or something? No, Key Glock made a post on his Instagram and said I was the first rapper with a 3D billboard. I said, I did that four months ago on my birthday. Everybody seen the flying Lamborghini,
Starting point is 00:41:03 the yellow line, I posted it. It went viral. Everybody saw that. You ain't doing nothing nothing new that wasn't where it started at that was friendly you know i'm saying me and kevin we cool it started when he said i'm independent and i'm getting 100k show and i said no you're not you signed the empire that got mad jumped in my dms oh this smoke is this and that so what's up so that's kind of like you telling somebody their music is trash it ain't nothing like that. I'll tell you why. Because it don't matter if they're independent or not.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Why do you care, soldier? I don't give a ****. That's the point. But don't be capping like you independent and you not ****. Because that offensive to **** like me who really independent. When I know you get hundreds of thousands of dollars, marketing dollars to put that **** billboard up. I thought you had got a big deal after making a clap.
Starting point is 00:41:43 Didn't you resign somebody? Who gives a fuck? It was a single deal. That's different. It was a single partnership. I gave them 10% of a record, one song. Ricky Marty, I ain't do that. I kept 100%. I didn't sign with back nobody.
Starting point is 00:41:55 I did a partnership with Virgin. I took a big bag for six months. I'm out of that deal now. I'm 100% independent. It was a single deal. We can't let you and Dolph and Key Glock, lock three young black men beef over who's independent tag me say the first rapper have a 3d billboard you tagged me but then you went to smoke I saw this was respond with a troll you can't you can troll me and say you was the first rapper
Starting point is 00:42:25 with my wave. You doing something first. But I can't troll you and say you ain't independent. You really signed? I thought you told them pull up and smoke then. They jumped in my DMs and said nigga, wait till we see you. I ain't gonna really say what they, but they started it. So I came back like, what?
Starting point is 00:42:41 Ain't you the nigga getting shot at a hundred times? Ain't you the nigga got shot in Hollywood hundred times? Oh, dog. Ain't you the nigga got shot in Hollywood? Running all out the LA, out the hotel? Go handle the niggas who shot at you first before you come at me talking about some fucking. You going to see me? You ain't going to do shit to me, nigga. You know who the fuck I'm is, nigga? You tripping, nigga.
Starting point is 00:42:59 Who are you? I don't. I'm Big Draco. I don't give a fuck about no dog, geeky, PR, none of that shit. It's S.O.D. Money Gang. And we will not tolerate no disrespect from no s*** in nobody. But we don't want no beef, though. No smoke, please. And I don't want to play about nobody getting a lot of money.
Starting point is 00:43:12 You Dolph, Geeky Glock, y'all getting too much money. We're not doing that. It ain't no smoke. We getting a lot of money, but s***, watch your mouth. Bro, keep it industry. Keep it funny. Keep it entertainment. What did Tiger do?
Starting point is 00:43:21 Tiger, uh, say he had a bigger company. Y'all started that s***. Y'all said Tiger had, no, y'all didn't. How'd that start? Tiger, uh, he had a bigger comeback. Y'all started that shit. Y'all said Tiger had, no, y'all didn't. How'd that start? Tiger, I don't know. Charlamagne did say Tiger. Charlamagne did say Tiger. Yes, he did.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Yeah, Charlamagne did say Tiger. No, I didn't. Charlamagne did. Tiger had a big comeback. He went number one and he did this shit. What about Tiger now a big comeback time when he went number one and he did this shit. What about Tiger now? This bitch like a- Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:43:47 All right. Now, what about Atari? I saw that y'all had some issues because you said you were- Atari said you was lying. Then Atari responded and said it's not true. Atari said you was lying. I love Atari. Basically, what happened?
Starting point is 00:43:58 I said it wrong. You know what I'm saying? It's like they called me and gave me a deal. You know what I'm saying? And it was like for like ownership in their company, a million dollars, a million shares, a million stocks, a whole bunch of f*** it, I don't know. And I got happy and I said, I own Atari, which really I just got a lot of ownership in their company, which you could call me an owner, you feel me? But I'm not the CEO. But I basically did a deal with them.
Starting point is 00:44:21 I signed a contract with them and I got a lot of money from them. They gave you equity in the company? Yeah, I got ownership in the company. They was very happy with what I did with Soulja Boy Gang, which y'all know the rap game and the tech game is two different places. You know what I'm saying? So people can't really keep up on what's going on. But what's going on right now,
Starting point is 00:44:37 I've been offered over $150 million to buy this company. Are you going to do it? What company? Soulja Boy Gang. Somebody trying to buy it from you. Are you going to do it, What company? Soulja Boy Gang. Somebody trying to buy it from you. Are you going to do it or you want to hold on? Multiple companies.
Starting point is 00:44:47 I met with Microsoft. I met with, what did you say, what? Are you going to hold on to it or you want to sell it? All right, so this is what happened, right? First, I was like, hell no.
Starting point is 00:44:55 I turn it on, I turn it on. All right, this guy. It's dead. It's dead, yeah. It's not my fault. I had a six-hour flight. Don't call me last minute. I'm on tour right now,
Starting point is 00:45:04 a millennium tour I've been playing it The whole flight Is it a prototype Or does it work? It does work I'm just asking I know you're gonna

Starting point is 00:45:30 How's the Millennium Tour going, man? How y'all? No, let's stay on this game. Yeah, let's finish. I'm trying to finish. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Back to this. This is the number one highest, newest game selling product of 2021.
Starting point is 00:45:40 So are you going to sell it? First, I said, no, I'm not going to sell it. I want ownership. I don't want y'all to take it. I'm going it G somebody big is about to buy this and I was like I don't want y'all to take it put y'all on it and then make it like y'all it's y'all like it's soldier boy game I make this but then that was like you gotta sell it you know what I'm saying it's not just me I got partners overseas I guess it's a board there's 10 people in suits they're like yo they offering over 100 million You can't say nothing.
Starting point is 00:46:06 You own, yeah, you own the company. But we partners. So I'm like, all right. But they're like, don't frown. You know what I'm saying? You're going to get $100 million. And you're going to still have ownership in the company. So I'm selling it, but I still own it. OK.
Starting point is 00:46:18 So yes, I'm selling it. $100 plus million. $150 million is going to go to me by Christmas. So what do you say to the people who are going to say cap on that $150 million deal? You can't. How? Where? How?
Starting point is 00:46:29 This shit is done and solidified. What you want me to do? Take a picture of a $100 million? I don't know how I'm going to prove it, but it's going to be done. I'm going to tell you something. I can't wait to see you with $150 million. I cannot wait to see Big Draco with $150 million. Let's all picture that. Everybody picture Big Draco with $150 million.

I did see it. And I was like, what's up?
Starting point is 00:49:05 And then he was like, I'm trying to sign. I was like, what? And then I don't know what I was doing. I don't want to cap. I was probably on tour or in the studio or something. I can't remember. But the next time I looked at my DM and messaged him, it probably was like a month later or three weeks later,

It's going to be about how I came up on the internet, how I discovered these artists, how I did artists, how I made myself.
Starting point is 00:54:49 But the behind the scenes, though, how I grew up, my family. Once I got into the industry, the different things that I dealt with, the adversity, the trials, the triumph, going to jail. You know what I'm saying? We've been working on this for a minute, so I think that's what really people go, because people keep saying, what's up with the movie?
Starting point is 00:55:05 Why you ain't put the movie out? And when Kiki was like, she's like, yo, let's just do the TV show and series. You could do the season one, season two, season three. So if anything happened in your life, just like yesterday, Kanye,
Starting point is 00:55:16 we could just add it in the show in seasons and keep upgrading as we go with time. So I'm like, okay, cool. That's better than the movie. So it's a scripted show? It's a scripted show. Word. Is everything clear with all your legal issues now? Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm like, okay, cool. That's better than the movie. So it's a scripted show? It's a scripted show. Word. Is everything clear with all your legal issues now?

It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Is your country falling apart?
Starting point is 00:57:33 Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it.
Starting point is 00:57:49 I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I trade my own country? My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory.
Starting point is 00:58:07 I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan.

As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams.
Starting point is 00:59:49 I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose

Starting point is 01:00:43 Shout to Diddy, shout to Ann, shout to everybody that ever worked at Revolt and man. So sad. Shout to Diddy. Shout to Ann. Shout to everybody that ever worked at Revolt and helped us out. We definitely appreciate you. We're going to miss Revolt. Yeah, Revolt not going
Starting point is 01:00:52 nowhere, though. The Breakfast Club just not going to be on Revolt. Yeah, we just not going to be on. All right, Yee. All right. Let's get to the rumors. As far as we know,
Starting point is 01:00:58 Revolt not going nowhere. All right, let's talk Drink Champs. This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee. Man, speaking of revolt, drink champs. Part two of their interview with Kanye West last night on revolt and some of the things that were discussed. He discusses meeting with Donald Trump in 2018 and what Donald Trump said
Starting point is 01:01:27 to him. I remember when I called to get Rocky out of jail, I called Trump. Trump said, yeah, you my friend. You know, my black approval rating went up 40 percent when you came to the White House. Everybody's like, yeah, he's so crazy. He's so crazy. Look at his hair. Look at him wearing his hat. I'm protecting. That's what they say. I'm protecting you by saying a red crazy. He's so crazy. Look at his hair. Look at him wearing his hat. I'm protecting. Just what Jay said. I'm protecting you by saying a red hat. That's why I got so irate about it. You know, by the way, we can all have an opinion. We see you had a relationship with Trump. Did you ever speak about Trump with the lobby? Who was his situation? Yeah. When I went to the White House, I spoke on that. All right. He just chastised people in the last interview for
Starting point is 01:02:06 having close relationships with uh politicians didn't he yes oh okay just making sure okay yep and another another thing that he talked about was being diagnosed with bipolar and other things that affected him we all are on the spectrum. Just only a couple of us went to the hospital or have been diagnosed with medication. When I slammed that paparazzi that day, they made me go to anger management. I'm sitting there with Amber Rose at the anger management situation.
Starting point is 01:02:36 The anger management coach just keeps on hitting on Amber and then giving me some medication. That was the beginning of my medication. That was the snowball into eventually ended up being diagnosed as bipolar, which there's a lot of people who will say, I don't believe that you are actually bipolar.
Starting point is 01:02:54 And anytime somebody wants to say that I'm wrong about something, hide the truth, a lot of them say yay's crazy. Hmm. Well, he did go through a lot of different things. So is he bipolar or not? He was diagnosed with it.
Starting point is 01:03:08 Is he bipolar? I mean, that's what they say. He makes it sound like it's a misdiagnosis. I mean, I don't know. It feels like he's saying it's a misdiagnosis. Yeah, he says that they diagnosed him bipolar. He started taking his medication. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:03:23 I mean, that's a hard thing because I also kind of feel like if you know people who are bipolar, they also don't feel like they taking his medication. I don't know. I mean, it's a hard thing. Because I also kind of feel like, if you know people who are bipolar, they also don't feel like they need the medication a lot. So then, therefore, they don't want to take it. Correct. And then sometimes it also makes them sick and nauseous. Or sometimes they get better and then they don't need,
Starting point is 01:03:38 they don't think they need to take it anymore. Right. A lot of people don't like the medicine. So there's just a lot of different things that comes along with that. Alright, now, in addition, he also discussed cancel culture and why he'll never be canceled. Dave Chappelle will never be canceled. Here's what he had to say. Man, if they don't get the fuck up out of here, bro, it's like we'll cancel what? Man, enough of this shit already, boy.
Starting point is 01:04:00 I just wait to someone in effect in a stock. You know, just take them out one by one to put imposed fear on anybody with freedom of thought. I smack the shit out you when I see. Don't tell me what the fuck to do ever in your life, boy. None of y'all Hollywood plant ass niggas tell
Starting point is 01:04:18 none of us what we do. This is our coaching now. You can't cancel none of us. And all of y'all scared niggas that's running around doing what these Hollywood n****s telling you to do. F*** y'all, man. Eek. All right. Dropping the close bombs for Kanye West.
Starting point is 01:04:34 Yeah, I agree with him right there. That's what Kanye does. He'll say one thing that's a total contradiction, then he'll say something else that you absolutely agree with. But you just got to have nuance when listening to his conversations and be objective. That's all. Take what you can from it. All right. Now get ready for this.
Starting point is 01:04:49 Lil Nas X, you know he is quite creative whether or not you like him. You have to admit he's entertaining. He's creative. He is. And he's going on Maury. Listen to and watch this trailer.
Starting point is 01:05:01 Wednesday. It's a Maury exclusive. Montero found the love of his life. Maury, can you bring my man out? But was shocked to discover Jai was married. Me and Jai have been together for about a month and a half. You're a liar. With a child.
Starting point is 01:05:14 This might be your baby, Maury. It's Jai the dad. He's creative. I love it. I don't think he's actually going on Maury. I think he's dropping a video or a new song or something. Probably a song, a video for a song off his album. Yeah, I think it's a video for a song.
Starting point is 01:05:28 But he's very creative with it, though. And he does have his ex on there, too. So it should be pretty interesting. But that is a great promo because I saw a lot of people posting it. So it could be fun. All right. Well, that is your rumor report. All right.
Starting point is 01:05:40 Thank you, Miss Yee. Shalom, who are you giving your donkey to? Well, you know, this morning is one of those mornings where we get a bunch of phone calls up to the radio station later. Probably radio stations all throughout the country about, you know, how I'm a race baiter and I'm racist because I'm just stating the obvious about racism in this country. So we need Kevin Gow, who is the lawyer, them three crack ass crackers who are accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery. We need him to come to the front of the congregation. We'd like to have a word with him, please. All right, we'll get to that next.
Starting point is 01:06:08 It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. Angela here talking about my friends at The General Insurance. They offer flexible payment plans and the ability to choose your payment date. Plus, they let you choose how you pay, whether that's with cash, card, or check. Call 800-GENERAL or visit thegeneral.com to learn more today. Some restrictions apply. It's time for Donkey of the Day. Donkey of the Day does not discriminate. I might not have the song of the day, but I got the Donkey of the Day.
Starting point is 01:06:47 So if you ever feel I need to be a donkey man, hit it with the heat. It's a breakfast club, bitch. Who's Donkey of the Day today? Well, Ed Sheeran, Donkey of the Day for Friday, November 12th, goes to attorney Kevin Gow. Who is Kevin Gow? He is one of the attorneys representing the three white men accused. No, he's representing one of the white men accused of murder and the death of Ahmaud Arbery.
Starting point is 01:07:11 I hate saying accused in situations that so many of us witness, but the law is the law. So for legal purposes, that is what has to be said. But cases like this remind me that the system of the law will always work in favor of the people it was designed to protect. And that's old white men. It is what it is. Why do we play this game in America like we don't know what the hell is going on? We know why Ahmaud, Ahmaud Arbery is dead. It's the same reason they're trying to suppress voting rights.
Starting point is 01:07:39 Same reason they're trying to keep critical race theory out of school. Same reason the George Floyd Policing Act won't get passed. And that reason is good old fashioned American racism. Why do we keep lying to ourselves like we don't know what the real deal is? Huh? Judge Timothy Walmsley said out of his mouth that there appears to be intentional discrimination in the Aubrey jury selection based off the fact there was one black juror. But guess what? He still let the case move forward.
Starting point is 01:08:07 Why? I just told you. Racism. Okay? America, racism is us. Us is racism. There is no way around it. All right?
Starting point is 01:08:15 Until we start calling it what it is, we will never fix it. This country will never heal because it doesn't think it's sick. You can't fix a system that doesn't think it's broken, okay? These crackers be like, broken to who? Seems to be working just swell for us. Would you like to see the system at work? Would you like to see how sick these races truly are? Well, this is Kevin Gow, who, as I just said,
Starting point is 01:08:37 is representing one of the crack-ass crackers who killed Ahmaud Arbery, and he is objecting to who the Arbery family has in court. Listen. The right Reverend Al Sharpton managed to find his way into the back of the courtroom. I have nothing personally against Mr. Sharpton. My concern is I believe that's intimidating and it's an attempt to pressure or influence the jury. To my knowledge, Reverend Al Sharpton has no church in Glynn County, never has. Obviously, there's only so many pastors they can have. And if their pastor's Al Sharpton right now, that's fine. But then that's it. We don't want any more black pastors coming in here or other. Jesse Jackson, whoever was in here earlier
Starting point is 01:09:13 this week, sitting with the victim's family, trying to influence a jury in this case. Okay, let's unpack this, right? Somebody please tell me how Reverend Al Sharpton or Reverend Jesse Jackson or any black pastor could sway that all white except for one black person jury. How? How? Prayer works. I truly believe prayer works. Prayer changes things. But I haven't seen it change the will of a white man yet. Okay?
Starting point is 01:09:37 Yeah, we can say things like where there's a will, there's a way. But in that courtroom, in that injustice system, it's white man's will, white man's way. For Kevin Gow to have to call Cassidy, the unmitigated God, to tell this family they can't have black pastors in the courtroom. As if this family hasn't been traumatized and doesn't need spiritual and emotional support. Now you personally, right, call out Reverend Al Sharpton and Reverend Jesse Jackson because they were there. Why is that? Well, what it sounds like to me, he's saying is this case is already high profile enough. We don't need Negroes like Al Sharpton coming in here, bringing more attention to this case because we're trying to get these boys off. And if all eyes are on us, it will be harder to make that happen.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Because when these guys get off or get a light sentence, we don't need people tearing this town up. I can hear him talk. I can hear him saying that. All right. Listen to Kevin Gow's statement. He said, if we're going to bring high profile members of the black community into the courtroom to sit with the family during the trial in the presence of the jury, I believe that's intimidating and it's an attempt to pressure. Wow. No, it's called support. It's called people using their status to bring attention to a case that if we don't bring attention to will quietly get settled with that family getting no justice and those guys getting off okay that's why they don't want high profile black people talking about or showing up to this trial now let's talk about intimidating and pressuring kevin gow what you did was an attempt to intimidate
Starting point is 01:11:02 and pressure not just the family of ahmadud Arbery, but Reverend Al Sharpton. You put a target on his back and Reverend Jesse Jackson's back and every single high profile black person's back who may come to support that family. You painted them out to be a threat. You painted them out to be a problem. Knowing that's going to rile up every bigot and racist in that town who can't wait to buy those three men who killed Ahmaud Arbery beers when they get released. Okay, now, Al and every other high-profile African-American, as you called them, won't be safe in that town. It wasn't like they were safe before because they're black, but they're really not safe now. Yet, you are saying they are intimidating and pressuring the jury.
Starting point is 01:11:39 You know what you was doing? You know what you was doing? You intimidated and pressured them. Oh, the icon known as Malcolm X once said, if you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppression. That's what's happening here. Okay, Ahmaud Arbery is dead because three white men, Gregory McMichael,
Starting point is 01:11:58 his son Travis McMichael, and William Roddy Bryan Jr. chased this man down and killed him, All right. For no damn good reason. But you pointing the finger at Reverend Al Sharpton, Reverend Jesse Jackson is saying they are intimidating, are pressuring the jurors. You don't think for one second that the Aubrey family and every black person going down there to support the Aubrey family. You don't think they know where they at? You don't think they feel intimidated and pressured just by being in that town where three white people lynched a black man and now they have to deal with the white devil institution of an injustice system
Starting point is 01:12:29 down there? You don't think that they feel intimidated and pressured by that, huh? Boy, hey, I gotta applaud you, Crackers. Round of applause for them, Crackers. Come on, give them some applause. Give them some applause. Give them, Crackers, some claps because I really
Starting point is 01:12:43 do admire it because somehow they cause all this bloodshed, all this grief, but still convince people that we, black people, are the threat. That magic trick, that illusion, that spell they be casting is really, really incredible to watch because people still fall for it. Please let Remy Ma give Kevin Gow the biggest hee-haw. Hee-haw, hee-haw.
Starting point is 01:13:09 You stupid mother f***er. You dumb. All right, well, thank you for that donkey today, sir. Now is when all the phone calls start coming to various radio stations that we're on throughout the country where they call me a race baiter and say that I'm racist
Starting point is 01:13:23 just for pointing out the obvious racism in this country. And they'll be more mad at me using the word cracker than they are at the injustice that's clearly happening in this case. But that's only because there's a lot of crack-ass crackers in this country. Cracker-ass cracker! All right. Oh! Wow.
Starting point is 01:13:42 Wow. Wow. All right. I think you said his name wrong though too What's It's Kevin Goff Goff No no I can't pronounce nothing We know
Starting point is 01:13:51 What'd I say Gal Golf Golf like the sport Tiger Woods plays Golf like his name is spelled like cough But with a G Golf Oh golf
Starting point is 01:14:01 Okay Kevin Goff Alright Kevin Goff Goff Goff Goff Goff
Starting point is 01:14:04 I have a friend I have a friend named Kevin Goff. He's black. He used to work in spirits. He does still work in spirits. So it sucks for him right now because his name is also Kevin Goff. Same exact name. He works at Spirit A-Law? No, spirits like wine and liquor.
Starting point is 01:14:18 All right. Well, thank you for that talk here today. All right. When we come back, Anthony Anderson will be joining us. Now, he has a major initiative called Get Real About Diabetes. He'll be talking about that and of course the final season of Black-ish. And then
Starting point is 01:14:31 don't forget, right before the People's Choice Mix, we have another powerhouse announcement. Alright, so don't move. Anthony Anderson is next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ, MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne the God. We are The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. We got a special guest.
Starting point is 01:14:50 That's right. Quick little drive-by. He stopped through. He got some other TV to do, but he stopped through and said he got to holler at The Breakfast Club. We got Anthony Anderson. What's going on? What's going on? Why does Angela Yee get a credit even when she's not here?
Starting point is 01:15:03 That's a good question. I'm just curious because you were like, yeah, it's me, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee. No, Angela Yee's not here. That's a good question. I'm just curious because you were like, yeah, it's me, DJ Envy and Angelina. No, Angelina, you're not here. But I'm sure when there's episodes of Black-ish and there's a character not in that particular episode, they still get their name in the beginning, right? Don't they? Nah, not really. Not really.
Starting point is 01:15:23 I mean, you do that. I mean, you know, you say that right now. People are probably tuning in and listening. It's like, yo, I can't wait to tune in to hear Angela today. And you give her the shout out. And then you know, y'all just hold four hours and she don't even say nothing because she's not here. You'd be like, she don't like Anthony or something? Why is she being so quiet?
Starting point is 01:15:38 That's a disappointment. I mean, last time I really hung out with Angela, we were in Saint-Tropez. And never mind. That's too much. I can't tell on her like that. What happens in Saint-Tropez stays in Saint-Tropez or ends up on Instagram? No, it ends up on Instagram.
Starting point is 01:15:51 Okay, okay. It ends up on Instagram. So now, Black-ish. Final season, man. Final season. What are you doing to us Black people? You know, I love to see positive shows. And you're taking one away.
Starting point is 01:16:00 Why? You're going to have to ask ABC that, man. But we had a nice run, a nice eight-year run. That's a long time. That's a long time, especially in today's climate with all the streaming services and 300-plus channels to choose from. To have a television show last eight years, 24 episodes a year, is a beautiful thing.
Starting point is 01:16:23 We have more stories to tell. I would have loved to have squeaked out 10 years. So wait a minute, this is an ABC thing? Yeah, because the show is amazing. People love the show, talk about it. I didn't wake up one day and say, you know what, I'm tired of making this money and making this show.
Starting point is 01:16:39 No. That's what I thought. Yeah, no, no, no. Wow. Yeah, no, it was, it was, you know, we are an expensive show to make, though. You know, and sometimes it just boils, comes down to dollars and cents. But eight beautiful years, man. You know, we've done a lot for the culture. We're in the zeitgeist now for what we've talked about and what the subject matter that we've talked about
Starting point is 01:17:00 and the things that we're doing. So, you know, it's a show to be proud of. I don't want to hear that y'all an expensive show when there was, what was that, Friends making a million? Everybody was making a million dollars? See, man, I'll let you do all the talking. I'm just saying. I just hit you with some bullet points.
Starting point is 01:17:12 You can run with it when you want. Everybody on Friends was making a million dollars. But you also, I agree with you on that, but you also have to look at the landscape of television back then. I mean, we didn't have 300-plus channels 20 years ago to choose from. All the more reason when you got a show that cuts through, you should hold on to that show, ABC. You hear that, ABC, Disney?
Starting point is 01:17:32 I'm just saying. Charlemagne, the God, has spoken. There ain't too many shows for our community like that. That's why I really love the show. Would you take the show to another network if possible? I don't think that's possible, but I would love to. But, you know, you got to get the cast together, man, and see if they want to do it.
Starting point is 01:17:51 You know what I'm saying? But, again, eight years, man. Almost 200 episodes. You know, that's nothing to sneeze at, you know? And we're going to go out with a bang, too. I'm celebrating that because that is a big feat. But, damn, ABC. I didn't know it that is a big feat. But damn, ABC. I didn't know it was ABC's doing.
Starting point is 01:18:06 Yeah, yeah. Don't blame me and Tracy and the kids. Don't blame us. When you talk about black TV shows, where do you think blackish fits? Do you think the Cosby show? Do you think Different World? Where do you think that shows as far as portraying a positive light on the black family? Everything that you said, man.
Starting point is 01:18:23 Bernie Mac, Cosby, Different World, Wife and Kids, Family Matters. light on the black family uh all everything that you said man uh uh bernie mack uh cosby uh a different world uh wife and kids uh family matters all that stuff man you know when kenya barris and i sat down almost 10 years ago and and talked about the landscape of television and what was missing from it from us he and i as viewers you know we went back you know to the jeffersons we went back to good times we went back to all All in the Family. We talked about Cosby. And hopefully our show has pulled pages from all of those television programs. The reason I rank y'all higher than I once did is because of the universe. I mean, it's a great show, don't get me wrong,
Starting point is 01:19:00 but the ish universe that was created. Right. There's only one other sitcom I can think of that did that, and that was created right that's only there's only one other sitcom i can think of that did that and that was cosby show and they only had one show which is a different world now now i remember when you ranked us so low it wasn't low i mean it's top 10 it was which is good was it 10 yeah it's top definitely top 10 definitely top 10 black sitcom no no no okay if you had a top 10 i'm cool cool with that. Definitely top ten in black sitcom of all time. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:19:26 But I rank it higher now because of the universe. Mixed-ish, grown-ish. Where do you rank us now? I think top five-ish. Top five-ish. So he's going to take the ish from my world and say, you know, you're top five-ish. But that's good. That's great.
Starting point is 01:19:43 Okay. And we still got the final season to see how that ends. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We got some surprises for you, man. We got some surprises. There's got to be one of the longest-running black sitcoms, though, right? One of them. One of them.
Starting point is 01:19:53 I mean, you know, Tracy was on one. Girlfriends. Girlfriends went for nine, I believe. Yeah, you know, Cosby went for eight. You know, yeah, yeah, yeah. We're up there. We're up there in rarefied air. I ain't gonna lie
Starting point is 01:20:05 i'm disappointed in abc i don't get it like this feels like lovecraft country getting canceled from hbo why yeah give me a reason they all like i need a reason why yeah they get they yeah lovecraft country got canceled and got all those emmy nominations man yeah great great show salute to them i don't understand the logic i don't get it i thought you was going to do talk shows because I see you on Jimmy Kimmel all the time. I was like, maybe Anthony leaving. No, that's later. No, that's later. That's a couple chapters down the line.
Starting point is 01:20:32 All right, we got more with Anthony Anderson. When we come back, don't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with Anthony Anderson.
Starting point is 01:20:43 And I love what you do with your moms oh thank you moms always get a check you cut more commercials with your mom yeah now explain that relationship so long story short
Starting point is 01:20:53 my mother always wanted to be an actress you know but she was a single mother at 17 and had me and another thing
Starting point is 01:21:00 she's a horrible actress so that's one that's one damn it man that's one reason why it didn't happen back then okay uh but she grew into becoming uh the actor that she is today man and and so you know for me to sit back and be able to give my mother an opportunity to live her dream
Starting point is 01:21:16 you know something that she always wanted to do she put her dreams of being an actor on hold to raise an actor not knowing that that's what she was doing. And so to be in a position to be like, yo, Ma, you know what? Let's go do you. It's a beautiful feeling, man, and she's enjoying her celebrity. How do you negotiate with moms? You know, we got this much money for it. How do you negotiate with moms? Mom just wants money, man.
Starting point is 01:21:38 Mom just wants the paper. That's it. And I'm going to always take care of her. And my whole thing was, it was like, look here. I'm going to put you on ABC's payroll because they can write bigger checks than I can. She's on the payroll? Yeah. To tell the truth, it's an ABC show.
Starting point is 01:21:53 We got all kinds of things going on, man. I had her on my payroll for a while, and it was draining me. So I was like, yo, we got to figure out how we can get you this big paper. But she's enjoying it. And, you know, we got some things in the works for her. She's doing Eddie Murphy's new movie right now. Wow. With Jonah Hill and all that.
Starting point is 01:22:11 Yeah, with Jonah Hill. And Kenya Barris is writing and wrote and is directing that. Like Lauren London's in that. Yeah, Lauren London. Halle Berry. Mike Epps. Kim Whitley. Nia Long.
Starting point is 01:22:23 I mean, it's a star-studded cast. I'm in it. I'm going to do a little role in it. So she's on set right now having a ball, man. Wow. So that's what's next for you? You want to get, I guess, movies or stand-up? What are you going to do?
Starting point is 01:22:34 You know, whatever opportunity presents itself. You know, I'm going to stay in this television world for a little while longer. You know, develop some things. I've got a few surprises coming up real soon in the television world. People are not really going to be shocked. They're going to be like, oh, you're doing that? I'm going, yeah. But that's it, man.
Starting point is 01:22:54 I believe that's what my energy was created to do, to entertain. And that's why I'm here. Now let's talk about the other reason you're here. Get real about diabetes. Yeah. Get real about diabetes. Get real about diabetes get real about diabetes calm is our website as well now you've been real you've been on this health kick for the last couple of years and really showing people your progress and what you've been doing from
Starting point is 01:23:13 everything so let's let's talk about this get real about diabetes yeah well you know this is a national diabetes awareness month in November you know it's no it's no secret that I've been a type 2 diabetic for close to 21 years now. And, you know, so it's just about me out educating our community about, you know, the pros and cons of diabetes, what we can do to live with it and not die from it. And that's why the website was created, GetRealAboutDiabetes.com. Go there and get all the information that you can and not die from it. And that's why the website was created, getrealaboutdiabetes.com. Go there and get all the information that you can and just talk about it. You know, I was the first person diagnosed in my family with diabetes.
Starting point is 01:23:53 Then my mom, and then we found out my dad had diabetes. And unfortunately, my father was diagnosed late in life, but probably had diabetes over 20 years undiagnosed. You know, as I look back in my mind, I was like, the symptoms that I had when I had become diagnosed was everything that my father was living with as a kid. What are some of the symptoms for people that don't know? Constant urination, fatigue, ashy skin, all kinds of things.
Starting point is 01:24:23 You know, so I advise everybody to go to the doctor and just get you know go to the doctor get checked up you know we take our car to the mechanic to get the oil changed every 3,000 miles but we won't go to the doctor you know to look at our internal fluids and see what's going on and so it's it's laughable that we have to have a day called national take your loved one to the doctor day you know what I'm saying I've gone to events like that and you know more national breathe day yeah take some air in yeah exactly called National Take Your Loved One to the Doctor Day. You know what I'm saying? I've gone to events like that. That's like National Breathe Day.
Starting point is 01:24:47 Yeah. Everybody takes some air in. Yeah, exactly. And it's really for the men in our community because we rarely go to the doctor unless we have an appendage falling off. It's like, oh, now I got to go. When that happens, it's too late.
Starting point is 01:25:01 So that's what we're about. That's why I partnered with Novo Nordisk years ago to start this campaign and just bring awareness uh about diabetes well anthony has to go for and your beard looks luxurious you got to come out with a line of beard products and stuff no i'm working on that i'm dead serious i'm working on that shout out to scotch porter um so uh no uh no i'm i'm i'm i'm i'm trying to partner with a Scotch Porter, man, and come out with a line. A men's health care line, facial line, beard line, and all that. Are y'all kicking me out?
Starting point is 01:25:33 No. They said you got to go. Who said I got to go? They said you got TV. I got to go? Well, hell, y'all kept me downstairs getting tested for 27 minutes. Hey, man, it happens. Man, I'm negative.
Starting point is 01:25:44 Ladies, what symptoms do you have? I was like, does itchy ass count as a symptom? She's like, nah, that's something else. That is a symptom now, though. They have something called restless anal syndrome, and it's when your ass itches and you feel like you gotta defecate all the time, but you really don't. That's actually a sign of, a symptom of COVID.
Starting point is 01:26:00 Do you have that? No, no, no. You see, he got a little bit personal when we went to the anal part. No, I just had itchy ass. I just like I got an itchy ass cheek. You see, he got a little bit personal when we went to the anal part. No, I just had an itchy ass. I just like I got an itchy ass cheek. You know, you went on to the innards. I just got an itchy ass cheek. It might just be a little dry skin because I'm a diabetic.
Starting point is 01:26:14 I told you that's a symptom. True, true, true, true, true. All right. Angela Yee, you talk too much, girl. You need to shut up in this interview, Angie, and let me get a word out. It's about me right now, not about you, Angela Yee. And I'm disgusted in ABC. I need to know where the black programming is coming from ABC now that blackish is gone. All right.
Starting point is 01:26:31 He said it, not me. I got a couple other shows. No, hold on, man. My mama's still got a deal over there. Oh, true, true, true. Don't mess up my mama money. This is Anthony Anderson. It's The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:26:41 Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. And shout out to Charlamagne. Charlamagne, you was on the Today Show yesterday, man. And I seen the interview.
Starting point is 01:26:56 Pretty dope, brother. I was with Hoda and Jenna. Salute to Hoda and Jenna for having me. They wanted me on there to talk about, you know, the God's Honest Truth, my late-night talk show that comes on tonight at 10 p.m. As well as, you know, all my mental health initiatives. So salute to Hoda and Jenna. I had to let a pause fly for the coaching, man.
Starting point is 01:27:11 I just, I just, it was just too egregious. You know what I mean? I knew, I knew where I was at, but it was just too egregious, man. The coaching wouldn't have respected me if I didn't pause that one. People should hear it so they can know what you're talking about. Yeah, play a clip of the interview yesterday. Charlamagne, welcome. I always find the people I love the most are the people who have
Starting point is 01:27:28 had the roughest time and kind of pulled themselves up. And when people look at you, they may say, wow, he's got a couple of shows, he's got a foundation, he's dressed to the nines. But you were on your knees a lot
Starting point is 01:27:39 early on. There were a lot of rejections. Pause. And somehow here you sit. So if someone were to ask you, like the magic fairy dust, what was it that brought you from that to this? I think that magic fairy dust would be called God. I always say, at this point in my life,
Starting point is 01:27:53 God, black women, and therapy are my life sources. But when I look back on my life, it's always been God and black women. It's been my mom, my grandma. I learned my work ethic from my oldest sister. just having that tribe around me that prayed for me. They were on their knees. Yeah, I didn't know you were on your knees that much, brother. You did know.
Starting point is 01:28:12 I did know. Yeah, I didn't know. I didn't know either, but, you know, I had to let a pause. I had to let that pause fly for the culture. I've never heard that expression in my life. You were on your knees over your life? Maybe I haven't paid no attention, but I've never heard that expression used in that life. Maybe I haven't paid no attention, but I've never heard that expression
Starting point is 01:28:27 used in that context. Huh? Maybe she just knows you. Maybe that's what she meant. Maybe. All right, well, let's get the rumors cracking. Let's talk music. It's about time.
Starting point is 01:28:39 What's going on? Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is the Rumor Report. Talk to them. With Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club. All right, well, the baby has an EP that's out today. It's called Back on My Baby Jesus-ish Again. Here's a song featuring 21 Savage. It's called Sticked Up. Other people on the album include, well, it's an EP, so six songs.
Starting point is 01:29:18 Kodak Black is on there as well. Also, Silk Sonic and Evening with Silk Sonic. This sounds perfect for me. and here is one of the songs off of there fly as me also money man has an album out today. It's called Blockchain and French Montana Drops. They got amnesia. Now, he's got a whole slew of guest appearances on this album. I can't even name everybody, but Doja Cat, Sweetie, Fabio Foran, Pop Smoke, Lil Durk, John Legend, Rick Ross, Kodak, Drake, Ty Dolla $ign, Lotto, Koi Larray, Lil T.J., Moneybagg Yo. So, you know.
Starting point is 01:30:06 But he does have some solo songs. Right, Envy? I know you can name them all. I'm not doing that today, but continue on. All right. As you heard earlier, Beyonce has a new song that everyone's talking about. That's from King Richard's soundtrack.
Starting point is 01:30:21 Mm-hmm. That's why I lift my head with pride. I got a million miles on me. They want to see how far I'll go. All right. And also Rick Ross featuring Jasmine Sullivan and 21 Savage. I can't, I can't, I can't stop loving you. I want to see my dogs on the mount chops. It's only balling when the albums drop.
Starting point is 01:30:57 I got a line of cars wrapping around the block. That song is called Outlaws. Jasmine Sullivan and 21 Savage. Now I got to go hear that one. Also, Bryson Taylor posted, before we got into my next album, I wanted to share another special project I worked on for you guys.
Starting point is 01:31:11 This one was really fun to make, inspired by Bieber, Ariana, and by one of my loneliest holiday seasons ever. A Different Christmas releases everywhere next Friday, November 19th. Happy holidays from me to you, especially if you're spending them alone. Aw, some more Bryson Tiller.
Starting point is 01:31:27 Can't wait for that. All right. And Travis Scott has issued a new statement on the tragedy at Astroworld. He offered support to the victim's families. Over the last week, Travis Scott and his team have been actively exploring routes of connection
Starting point is 01:31:38 with each and every family affected by the tragedy through the appropriate liaisons. He is distraught by the situation and desperately wishes to share his condolences and provide aid to them as soon as possible but wants to remain respectful of each family's wishes on how they'd like to best be connected. To those families
Starting point is 01:31:54 who would like to reach out directly to his team, please send an email to the below address where we will have a team on hand to assist. In addition to that, more tragedy, a ninth victim has passed away who attended the Astro World Festival at the age of 22. So sad. According to TMZ,
Starting point is 01:32:10 22-year-old Bardi Shahani passed away due to the injury she sustained. She was a Texas A&M University senior. She suffered multiple heart attacks in the midst of the crowd surge and was ruled brain dead at a nearby Houston area hospital earlier this week.
Starting point is 01:32:26 That's horrible, man. Sending her family healing energy, definitely. What, she got trampled or something? Well, the family and attorney, they had a press conference. They confirmed that she was the one who was dropped by police officers and medical professionals on her head while they were trying. She's the one, if you saw that video footage. While they were trying to escort her safely out of the crowd. Sheesh. Yeah, so much tragedy.
Starting point is 01:32:48 Yikes. So it was like, Jesus Christ, so they were trying to help her, but they accidentally dropped her? Yeah, it was a lot of people. You didn't see the video? They were carrying her on a gurney all the way out. I don't watch stuff like that. I guess somebody, it dropped her hand, and then the front of it just fell, and she fell on her head. Oh, my gosh. So sad.
Starting point is 01:33:03 Oh, my God. That's horrible, man. All right. Well, that is your rumor reports. All right. Thank you, Miss Yee. Now, shout out to Revolt. You know, today is our last day on Revolt. So wish Revolt the best of luck.
