Starting point is 00:00:00 Had enough of this country? Ever dreamt about starting your own? I planted the flag. This is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete. Or maybe not. No country willingly gives up their territory. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:00:16 What is that? Bullets. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. We need help! That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show, where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more. After those runs, the conversations keep going. That's what my podcast
Starting point is 00:00:46 Post Run High is all about. It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories, their journeys, and the thoughts that arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you love to hate. From the East to the West Coast. DJ Envy.
Starting point is 00:01:45 Angela Yee. Charlamagne Tha God. The realest show on the planet. This is why I respect this show, because this is a voice to society. Changing the game. You guys are the coveted morning show, but y'all earning it. Impacting the culture. They wake up in the morning and they want to hear that Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:02:01 The world's most dangerous morning show. We in the mother, We in the house. Good morning, USA. I guess I answered myself. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. You know what? I was running late today this morning, too. And I was like, hmm. Normally I get to work a lot earlier than I did today. I was concerned. I was worried.
Starting point is 00:02:34 And now I'm the only one here. So good morning. Happy Tuesday. Envy, what'd you do yesterday? Okay, that's interesting. What about you, Charlamagne? All right. Well, yesterday I was at the public library in the Bronx. Shout out to the New York Public Library. I'm their first ever ambassador. And guess who I met yesterday and I had a conversation with? Sonia Manzano. If you don't know who that is, she is Maria from Sesame Street. She played Maria on Sesame Street for 44 years. And she has a memoir called Becoming Maria.
Starting point is 00:02:59 But we had a good conversation about some of her favorite books that she read as a kid. Oh, look who's here. Hey, Charlamagne. I was just talking about being at the New York Public Library in the South Bronx yesterday. And I interviewed
Starting point is 00:03:12 Sonia Manzano. She played Maria on Sesame Street for 44 years. Maria on Sesame Street. You don't remember Maria on Sesame Street? Yeah, it wasn't a lot of humans on Sesame Street, so she was one of the humans. She was saying when they put her on the show, it's because they wanted to have
Starting point is 00:03:26 some Latin representation and just have some diversity on Sesame Street. Oh, wow. Well, I mean, that says a lot being that they had a big bird and a snuffleupagus and a grouch.
Starting point is 00:03:38 That's a lot of diversity right there. Right. So, and, you know, there were a few Spanish words and people would complain about that. What? She said that she would say things in Spanish sometimes. But, you know, there were a few Spanish words, and people would complain about that. What?
Starting point is 00:03:45 She said that she would say things in Spanish sometimes. But, you know, representation, as we all know, is so important. And to be able to see somebody that is a Spanish-speaking person on television, a lot of people, one woman got up in the audience and started crying because she was so excited to meet her. Yeah, I mean, it's interesting, though, because I'm sitting here trying to remember Sesame Street, and I cannot remember none of
Starting point is 00:04:06 the humans. I remember all the characters. She ended up getting married on the show and people thought in real life she was married to the person she was married to on the show. And when she got pregnant in real life, they incorporated that into the show just because so many kids go through seeing their parents, you know, having a little
Starting point is 00:04:21 brother or little sister. Hey, Envy. Hey, guys. All of that is dope. I just wonder how much diversity matters when it comes to, like, superhero movies and stuff like Sesame Street. Only because I don't remember none of the humans. You know what I'm saying? She's been on there for 44 years. I don't think you're supposed to. But what she did say was she was on there a lot more in the beginning episodes. Really?
Starting point is 00:04:40 And it used to be on every day. I don't remember a human either. It was a few. Yeah, I remember the humans. I remember them interacting with humans, but I don't remember. I don't remember their faces or names. Salute to her though. Eddie just showed me a picture of her. I'm like, no. I can't believe y'all don't remember them sitting on the
Starting point is 00:04:54 porch and then Oscar the Grouch always had a little crush on her. You don't remember none of that? Kind of hard to stand out as a human on Sesame Street when you got big birds and snuffleupagus walking around. Just this. Sorry. Well, for some people, that was like one woman
Starting point is 00:05:07 got up in the audience and she said she was raised by Sesame Street after her mother passed away and that was what she saw on television. Tough man. The only humans
Starting point is 00:05:16 I remember back then were Mr. Rogers. Yes. He wasn't on Sesame Street. I know, but I'm just saying as a kid, and the guy that used to paint. LeVar Burton
Starting point is 00:05:23 from Reading Rainbow. Reading Rainbow. And what's the guy that used to paint all the time? You don Reading Rainbow. Reading Rainbow. Yeah, and what's the guy that used to paint all the time? You don't remember the... With the Afro. The white man with the Afro. What was his name? The first transracial. What's his name? Bob Ross. Bob Hope. Bob Hope. Bob Ross, man. Bob Ross. Yeah, whatever. But those are the only three I really remember.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Okay. Yeah. You guys might not have been big Sesame Street fans. Nah. I mean, no disrespect to Sesame Street. Burton Ernie's just a hard act to follow when you're human. I'm just saying. Yeah, and we have the real life Burton Bert and Ernie right here with us this morning on The Breakfast Club. Oh, my goodness. All right, well, let's get the show cracking. Front page news we'll be talking about next, Sheen.
Starting point is 00:05:53 We are going to be talking about the Toronto Raptors. What happened at that huge parade that they had yesterday? Bacchanal Night started shooting. Let's stop it. All right, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:06:04 PJMV, Angela Yee. Charlam. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. E.J., M.V., and Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Let's get some front page news. What are we talking about, Yee? Well, let's talk about the Toronto Raptors parade. That's because they won the championship. They had the parade, and now
Starting point is 00:06:20 they're saying that there were four people who suffered gunshot wounds in the parade shooting. They've arrested three people since then. And even after the shooting, the parade did continue. But here's what happened. I want to make sure everybody stays calm right now. We're dealing, I'm getting information that we're dealing with a situation that's not far from here. This is serious.
Starting point is 00:06:39 And I wouldn't be here interrupting this without saying this. So if everybody please please stay calm. We're going to provide an update, and I apologize. How do they say stay calm after gunshots ring off? No, I'm running. I'm going home. Well, somebody actually got shot? Yeah, a couple of people got treated for gunshots. Four people got shot.
Starting point is 00:06:57 I didn't know that. I thought they were just, you know, you got a bunch of Jamaicans in there, fake Jamaicans in Toronto, so I thought they were just shooting in the air celebrating. They said those people are being treated for serious injuries, but they're not life-threatening, and they're still investigating. Now, Drake did still take the stage after that and told everybody to hug each other and to spread love,
Starting point is 00:07:13 and there were no further incidents after that. That was around 1 p.m. I really thought they were just out there celebrating. Buck, buck, buck, buck! I didn't know that somebody actually got shot. Well, those bullets come down when you shoot them, or they go somewhere. Well, when you're shooting in the air, they don't come down and shoot people.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Yes, they do. So many people got injured. When you shoot in the air? Yeah, the bullets come back down. They come down and shoot you? They always say. People, they always say that. I've never heard of it.
Starting point is 00:07:34 I've never heard of it. I'm from Brooklyn. I've definitely heard of that happening. They come back down and hit people, but I've never seen it. When you shoot in the air, the projectile, it goes up. What goes up must come down. Man, shut up, Steve. I don't believe that.
Starting point is 00:07:43 It can't come down with the same force. It's not going to be the same force, but you're still not a good feeling to get hit by a bullet. Yeah, but you're not going to get shot. You might get hit by just a falling bullet. No way. Knock it off. It's not the same force. You guys, you just shouldn't be shooting in the air regardless. You shouldn't be shooting anywhere.
Starting point is 00:07:58 How about that? It's a celebration that has millions of people outside. Okay? Yeah. I can't believe somebody said that. You shouldn't be shooting a gun. Steve, the white man in the room who's probably prone to be a shooter is going to say something stupid like that.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Now, Donald Trump is saying that ICE is going to start removing millions of illegal aliens, and that's going to start next week, according to Donald Trump. He tweeted out, Next week, ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States. They will be removed as fast as they come in. What's new?
Starting point is 00:08:26 Right. Well, now, you know, it's interesting. I was watching the news this morning now that I have cable again. And Governor Cuomo in New York said they've just signed a legislation that grants driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. The one thing that made it difficult for him to sign this was whether or not he's creating a whole database for the feds to use to track down undocumented people. So, you know, that might be a difficult thing because people want to get their license. But how now can you stop this from being something that they use for ICE to go and arrest people and remove them? Well, according to Attorney General Tish James, they said this legislation is welled and contains ample protections for those who apply for driver's licenses.
Starting point is 00:09:06 If this bill is enacted and challenged in court, we will vigorously defend it. So that measure passes state Senate and it takes 180 days to go into effect. I don't know if I would trust that. Starting in December. I'm an illegal immigrant. They give me a license and now all my information is in the system. It's hard. And I'm not going to be scared.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Yeah, that's definitely some form of entrapment. Nah. Noop, noop, noop, noop. Yeah, I don't know how you can protect that. And a group of Oklahoma teens went to the Dominican Republic. They went to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana, where at least two Americans have died, and people have gotten sick
Starting point is 00:09:37 as well. And they ended up getting sick. They said they had no idea what was going on. They said, is it the water? Is it the ice? Is it the food? Is it the food handling? Is it the pesticides? So the first day, everything was all good. They were hanging out and then things got worse after they went to the Japanese restaurant on the resort.
Starting point is 00:09:53 They said, I just woke up and my stomach was cramping and I was sweating. I was freezing. So he and six others were rushed by ambulance to the hospital where they got anti-nausea medicine. So they don't know if those cases are all linked together. Yeah, and didn't an eighth person die? Yeah, somebody else died. A brother named Joseph Allen?
Starting point is 00:10:10 He died of a heart attack? I think a ninth person died of a heart attack. And people are looking... Another one. Yeah, now they're looking back at other situations that have happened and people are saying they were told it was a heart attack, they was foaming at the mouth, all different situations, and now people are looking back
Starting point is 00:10:24 and saying, hmm, what really happened as a cause of death for that person? Oh yeah, he is the ninth person. He's from Jersey, too. You know what's crazy? At this point, if you go to the DR and die, they should just rule it a suicide. Like, you know something's going on out there that shouldn't be going on. People are dying. Why are you going?
Starting point is 00:10:40 Tourism should drop significantly in the DR. I heard they're trying to fix it and try to find out what's going on, because DR really make a lot of money off of tourism, and tourists to fix it and try to find out what's going on Because DR really make a lot of money off of tourism And tourists aren't coming They better find out what's going on I wonder if you have a trip booked if you can get your money back Alright well that is your front page news Alright get it off your chest

I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikame tribe owned country.
Starting point is 00:11:43 My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Bullets. We need help! We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams.
Starting point is 00:13:31 I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Thank you, my brother. That's what we're here for, sir. Definitely, man. Keep doing your thing, man. Y'all are doing this. I know y'all are changing lives out here.
Starting point is 00:15:09 I appreciate everything y'all do. Where you from? Jacksonville, Florida. Jacksonville, Florida. Duval! All right, brother. Have a good one, man. Duval!
Starting point is 00:15:18 Hey, man, that's what Black Radio is all about, baby. Dispensing information that our community can use to help better themselves. Hello, who's this? This is Andy. No chill. Hey, get it off your chest. Okay, who's this? This is Indy. No chill. Hey, get it off your chest. Okay, so good morning, guys. I don't know who I'm talking to, but Charlamagne, Indy, everybody, good morning.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Good morning. Good morning. So me and my husband have been going through it for years, years, years. Been together for 20 years, married for four. So yesterday I had to break up with my best friend and because he doesn't like her, we always have conflicts about her and basically I guess I chose him not choosing him, but
Starting point is 00:15:53 choosing not to argue. And I feel bad. I mean, that's a sticky situation because your husband doesn't like your best friend, but you're with your husband every day, 24-7. That's a tough one. Does he have a reason not to like her?
Starting point is 00:16:08 Exactly. That's what I want to know. It's so much back story here, y'all, but long story short, basically one day my car broke down. We was in the parking lot. I called him to, you know, come help or whatever. Along the way, you know, I got off the phone with him, called her. She comes, you know, comes up to try to help or whatever.
Starting point is 00:16:25 Some guy stops to try to help. He gets up there, is irate because the guy is up there and what the F did I call her for? What's she going to do? So, you know, of course, she gets mad too because now you at my best friend like you ain't got no sense and for no reason. So, you know, she popped back at him.
Starting point is 00:16:41 I'm going to tell you what needs to happen. I saw this yesterday on a really informative show called Martin. And one time Pam and Martin had got stuck in the woods together. And they didn't have no food. And, you know, that brought them together, you know, closer as people. And Gina was so happy when she found them. So that's what they need to do. They need to take a camping trip and get lost in the woods.
Starting point is 00:17:03 Both of them together. Let them go to dinner or something together where they can talk need to take a camping trip and get lost in the woods. Both of them together. Let them go to dinner or something together where they can talk to each other. No. Camping. Lost in the woods. It worked on Martin. Have a good one. You know Martin's not real. You know you gotta put two people in camp and that ain't the easiest thing. Well, art imitates life.
Starting point is 00:17:18 You know what I'm saying? So even though it's not real, it's a lot of good life lessons to be learned in Martin. Angel! Hey, what's up, Breakfast Club? What's up, bro? Get off your chest. I just want to talk about this Black Men Don't Cheat movement, Charlamagne.
Starting point is 00:17:31 The number one song in the country by Lil Nas X. He has a lyric that says, cheated on my baby. Well, Lil Nas X is how old? 19? 18, 19?
Starting point is 00:17:40 He don't know no better yet. You know what I'm saying? He'll live and learn. He'll learn his lesson. So that don't count? He's 18, 19. He's a black boy. yet. You know what I'm saying? He'll live and learn. He'll learn his lesson. So that don't count? He's 18, 19. He's a black boy. It's the difference between black men and black boys.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Oh, boy sounds crazy. All right. All right. Yeah, that's not true. Young man. No, black boys. It's the difference between black men and black boys. And ladies out there, the Black Men Don't Cheat Initiative is something that we're trying
Starting point is 00:17:59 to get men to evolve and stop doing the things that they've done in the past. I know a lot of women are upset with the black men don't cheat, but we're changing the narrative. Man, I saw a good conversation these brothers were having on a podcast yesterday. I cannot remember the name of the podcast right now. I actually reposted it. But these brothers were having a full-blown conversation
Starting point is 00:18:17 as to why cheating is corny and as to why you should not cheat on your woman. And they was talking about keeping the black family structure together. Oh, abuse from the friend zone. Salute to those brothers. I thought that was a great conversation. Those are the kind of conversations that we starting with this. So
Starting point is 00:18:33 I don't know why you would be mad at any man for trying to better themselves. Makes no sense to me. I get you. All right. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, hit us up now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Wake up, wake up.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Wake your ass up. This is your time to get it off your chest. Say it, say it, say it. Whether you're mad or blessed, we want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club. Hello, who's this? Good morning, Envy. This is Waleed from Jersey. Waleed, what's up? Get it off your chest.
Starting point is 00:19:04 Oh, man. I'm taking my daughter for graduation to the DR in like a week and a half, bro. Whoa. You know how terrified we are, like. Why are you doing that? I'm going to call the travel company. Because we planned it for months ago. She was supposed to go to Europe, but I had to cancel that.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Already lost money on a Europe trip. And now we said, do something small, go to the the dr and now this is happening would you would you rather would you rather lose money or lose your life you're right uh we we've had this discussion and it's like okay you know do we go do we not go we're trying to get some more information we're trying to call the people see where it's at if we're not on that part of the island does that matter like serial killer they the scary part is they don't know so can you get your money back we don't know we we can you get your money back? We don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:47 We've been calling. We've been trying. Nobody's getting back to us. How did you pay for your tickets? Did you go on Expedia? Yeah, it was one of those travels. Did you click the thing on the bottom where it says insurance? Yes.
Starting point is 00:19:58 No, no. That's the problem with the insurance. I've already paid for the insurance for the Europe trip. You don't get your money back. You don't get all your money back. I still lost like $700. Well, I'm going to tell you something, my brother. I pray you don't die. I pray too. That's all I can tell you.
Starting point is 00:20:14 This kid went through 12 years of high school, graduated, honor roll all the time and you got to tell her she can't go and we lost the money so she can't go nowhere. Well, she's been paying attention to what's happening. I'm hoping that you guys can get your money back and at least go somewhere else. Yeah, where you from? Jersey. I live in Piscataway. You wanna try
Starting point is 00:20:31 Miami? You can get to Miami. Won't be as fun as DR and Island-ish, but Miami's dope. We just moved from Florida. We came back. They're like, no. Go to Jamaica. I love Jamaica. Take her to Charleston, South Carolina. Yeah, y'all forgetting the part about the money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Oh, yeah, yeah. But you know what? We have to see. First, you got to see how you can go about getting your money back, whether it's through the credit card company and see if you can maybe use. I would call the airline to see if I can change my flight from there to somewhere else because of the circumstances. Yeah, tell them the truth.
Starting point is 00:21:00 You're like, I'm scared to die. How old is she? You got to get them on the phone. She's 18. Man. Well, see if the airline will let you at least change your flight to go somewhere else first and start with that. And then see if you can get your money back.
Starting point is 00:21:12 You got to get him on the phone first. Well, yeah. Is she too young to go to your lip service live? Is she too young for that? 18? No, she can make it to lip service. Hey, there you go. Why don't you take her to lip service?
Starting point is 00:21:21 Man, are y'all listening to this man? This man may not have the money to get to New York right now. All his money's tied up in his yard trip. He's in Jersey. He can drive over the bridge. I think he can drive to New York. You want to go there for free? Well, it's a little bit of sex talk.
Starting point is 00:21:32 You want to take your daughter there? I'm sure. I'm glad. I'm sure she'll like it. She could come meet Trina tomorrow. Yeah. Yeah, that's fine. Well, yeah, you got a ticket?
Starting point is 00:21:41 Can I have a ticket to get to her? We got two tickets for you, all right? Yeah, that's fine. Appreciate you. You don't sound too excited, man have a ticket to get to? I've got two tickets for you, all right? Yeah, that's fine. Appreciate you. You don't sound too excited, man. I just gave you some damn free tickets. They're going away on vacation. They got to figure this out.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Thank you, Envy. I appreciate you. All right, man. And shout out to you. She's doing her lip service thing tomorrow. Tickets are almost sold out. Get your tickets. Trina's going to be there.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Who else, Yee? We have Kadeen and Deval Ellis and other surprise guests who I can't say yet. All right. He's online, too. We'll get his information. Hello, who's this? My name's Tony Draper from Tampa, Florida. Tony Draper, you're named after a very famous record executive, sir.
Starting point is 00:22:15 What's up, Tony? Yes, sir. My birthday, June 27th, too. DJ Screw Day. Okay, so you a cancer like me. Yes, sir. Birthday coming up. Happy birthday, sir.
Starting point is 00:22:24 But I was calling to get it off my chest about the Lakers. I run a page called DF News. Talk about sports. Everybody going crazy about the Lakers getting AD. That's what's up. But hold your horses. They already said, is AD the best player he ever played with? Are they better than Kobe and Shaq?
Starting point is 00:22:41 They going to the chip. They got four players, man. Calm down. Let them get some signings They got four players, man. Calm down. Let them get some signings. Maybe, hopefully, they get campus. But until then, let it all play out. Enjoy. Quiet, fun guy.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Celebrate this championship. Yeah, I mean, but you know that's the era we live in. They wouldn't have anything to talk about on these sports shows if they didn't do all those hypotheticals and, you know, conversations like that. Yeah, they always trying to find a way to keep Brown relevant, make him the focal point of sports. But really, we need to be still talking about how KD sacrificed everything,
Starting point is 00:23:13 proved he's that boy like he's been showing he was the last three years. And that 73-9 stuff is, ah, just cut it. No, don't get it twisted. Brown's still nice. Like, don't just sit here and talk like he's trash now. Oh, I'm from Toledo, Ohio. I love the man, but it's too big of a gap between him
Starting point is 00:23:30 and everybody else. Alright. Media-wise, media-wise, it definitely is, but when it comes to what's happening on that court, no. The gap isn't that big at all, to be honest with you. Alright, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to hit us up right now.
Starting point is 00:23:46 And E, we got rumors on the way? Yes, doesn't look like it's a game anymore. OJ Simpson's on Twitter. We told you yesterday about his first video that he posted about Khloe Kardashian not being his daughter. Well, now he might be on there threatening people. Alright, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:24:01 The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ, MV, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors. Let's talk O.J. Simpson. She's spilling the tea. This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee on the Breakfast Club. Well, we told you about O.J. Simpson being on Twitter. I don't know if that's the best place for him to be. Of course it is.
Starting point is 00:24:29 But there's a parody account, at Killer O.J. Simpson. I guess that account was trolling O.J. Simpson. And O.J. Simpson responded, and now that Killer O.J. Simpson account has posted the messages that they received that came from OJ Simpson's real account. Now, OJ Simpson put up a bunch of knife emojis, which is a little crazy. OJ Simpson also
Starting point is 00:24:52 DM'd him, delete this account or I will have my lawyer remove it for false misleading content I didn't post. And he said, and if I don't, you're going to stab me too? Me and millions know the truth. Welcome to Twitter, bruh. And he said, like I said, delete this parody account As you call it, or face serious consequences
Starting point is 00:25:08 By me I'll find your ass one way or another So don't mess with me, I got nothing to lose Grow up You know, OJ not the dumb one The people who follow him and report everything he says on Twitter Are the dumb ones I don't want to hear anybody complaining about OJ
Starting point is 00:25:22 Because y'all gonna give him an audience And eventually he's gonna go too far And then everybody's gonna about OJ because y'all going to give him an audience and eventually he's going to go too far and then everybody's going to want him cancelled. But y'all are entertaining it. So y'all are creating this monster that y'all eventually going to cancel. So then OJ Simpson said, think I'm playing MF-er? And the parody account responded sadly, nope. Look,
Starting point is 00:25:37 if my little Twitter account with 300 followers bugs you that much, then man, you weak as F. And then OJ said seen that video just posted about me. You think I'm playing tired of all your BS. I will find your ass and cut you. Don't believe me. Just watch and see bitch.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Truth to the matter is OJ has been riding the wave of killing two white people for a long time. He needs some fresh bodies because he's really not that entertaining to me. So if he gets back to murdering people, then I'll be interested. He has an ankle problem to me.
Starting point is 00:26:09 I don't think he should be on Twitter. Maybe not. I don't think he can be on Twitter, but why are people following him is the question. Because it is. Exactly. He don't know how to block people yet. No, he probably doesn't. It just kills them. They just create a monster that they're going to eventually cancel. It's the same thing with guys like LeVar Ball, Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:26:27 Y'all entertain these people, give them an audience. And then when they finally go too far, you want to cancel. He needs to learn how to mute. I like to mute people so they don't even know they're blocked. I just figured out last week how to mute somebody too. Now let's talk about LeVar Ball. And people are saying that he made some inappropriate statements and he's saying that he didn't and explains what he meant.
Starting point is 00:26:48 So you guys listen up and see if this can be taken out of context. He was talking to Molly Karam and here's what happened. LeVar, can I switch gears with you? Because I have a question here. You can switch gears with me anytime. Let's stay focused here. All right. All right. All right.
Starting point is 00:27:05 So he's saying what he meant, and according to his rep, is what he meant was switching gears as in changing the subject anytime. And it was not intended or meant to be sexual in nature. So ESPN also issued a statement saying that his comment to Molly was completely inappropriate, and we made him aware of that. Well, it didn't sound sexual in nature to me, but the only way I would remotely take it as such is because I remember the scene in
Starting point is 00:27:29 Boys in the Hood when Trey says, can you drive stick? And the young lady says, no, but I can learn. I can learn. That's a little different, though. Let me hear the change of gears again. Can you play that clip again? That's a little different, man. LeVar, can I switch gears with you? Because I have a question here. You can switch gears with me anytime.
Starting point is 00:27:46 Let's stay focused here. Go ahead. She was ticking it back. She was, but see. That's a good time to clear it up. How is switch gears sexual, though? Like, driving stick is different, right? But switch gears?
Starting point is 00:27:59 Like, how is that sexual? Explain it. I don't know. I think maybe she... You can tell she felt a little uncomfortable, though. I don't know. Why are you looking at me like that? And that's a good time to clear it up.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Bring your gear here. Let me show you how to switch it. Bring your gear here. Let me show you how to switch it in here. And she's married to Jalen Rose as well, right? But what's a gear? She's not married. But see, now what I just said is sexual.
Starting point is 00:28:18 See, what I just said to you, bring your gear here so I can switch it in here. But what's a gear? Like, I know what a stick shift is. You know, a stick is a little different. You know what gear rhymes with? What do you in. But what's a gear? Like, I know what a stick shift is. You know, stick is a little different. You know what gear rhymes with? What do you have on you that gear rhymes with? Huh? Huh?
Starting point is 00:28:31 I'm not playing this game with you, Smoy. This is the thing. People just don't like LaVar Ball anymore. Okay, LaVar is the same man who last year people would make excuses for and say he's the drunk uncle at the picnic. He's entertaining. You either love him or hate him, but he makes for good TV. Now that Alonzo hasn't panned out and he's not a Laker anymore,
Starting point is 00:28:45 people just don't want to hear from LeVar. So everything he says annoys people. That's it. That's all it boils down to. Yeah, Miley and Jay Leno are married. Oh, they're married? Yeah. Oh, I know they're married.
Starting point is 00:28:53 They're married married. Okay. All right. Now let's talk about BET. Magic Johnson has joined the BET Experience 2019. He's going to actually be doing a Genius Talks interview. So that's the headliner for that. Oh, that's dope.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Lena Waithe. Hold on, he's doing the interviews? Well, no, he's going to be interviewed. He's getting interviewed. He's participating. Okay, okay, okay. Yes. So he's part of the lineup.
Starting point is 00:29:14 And that also includes Lena Waithe, Yara Shahidi, and Marseille Martin. And he's going to be talking about his own business endeavors and economic and community empowerment and bringing magic to everything he does. Let me tell you something. I had to moderate the BET Genius Talks one time. That was one of the best experiences of my life.
Starting point is 00:29:32 I interviewed Ava DuVernay, Tracy Ellis Ross, New Edition, somebody I'm missing, Issa Rae, all in like one day. That was amazing. Well, that's going to take place on Saturday at LA Live if you guys are down there for BET weekend. And also, A$AP Ferg is going to sit down
Starting point is 00:29:51 with Elliot Wilson for a special live edition of Crown. And yeah, it should be a fun time. Okay. That is this weekend. All right.
Starting point is 00:30:00 I'm Angela Yee and that is your rumor report. All right. Thank you, Miss Yee. Now we got front page news. What are we talking about? Yes. We are going to talk got front page news. What are we talking about? Yes. We are going to talk about sending additional troops.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Apparently, we're sending 1,000 additional troops to the Middle East. All right. We'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Someone may be engaging in bestiality. Do you report them to the proper authorities?
Starting point is 00:30:19 I need a police officer or somebody to call up and- Who are you talking about? Encourage me. I don't want to put them out there yet. I'm just saying if you suspect someone maybe he said it himself.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Really? So if you suspect someone may be engaging in bestiality, do you report them? What animal? What kind of animal? It's a dog. It's an underage dog.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Dog black or white? I have no idea. It's an underage dog though. Dog is black. So any authorities out there, you know, let me know if I suspect someone may be engaging in bestiality. Should I report it? Well, isn't this the pot calling the kettle black?
Starting point is 00:30:52 What are you talking about? You had some bestiality instances. That were well documented. I didn't. I told y'all a story about how one time I was high and a dog came and licked my testicles. Okay, I wasn't intentionally sleeping with a dog. Somebody in this room was intentionally sleeping with a dog. But you didn't stop the dog.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Angelina always comes to the defense of the white people. Don't worry about it, though. Why'd you block your mouth like we couldn't hear you say the white people in the room? I didn't say that. I'm just saying, I've heard this story many times. And you let the dog finish. No, I didn't stop it. Now let's get into some front page news.
Starting point is 00:31:24 I don't even know where we're going from here. What are we talking about, Yeen? Let's talk about what's going on in the Dominican Republic and David Ortiz. So they have identified the person who paid for the murder for hire plot against David Ortiz. And they are saying that person accused of paying for that attempted hit is Alberto Miguel Rodriguez Mota. Who is he? So they said he met with another suspect to discuss that plan one week before Ortiz was shot.
Starting point is 00:31:51 What they're trying to figure out now is if he was acting on behalf of somebody else when he paid that $7,800 payment to the would-be assassins. So they don't know why he would be the person that would do that if he was acting on behalf of someone else. They are still investigating, but they have identified that person who distributed the payment. So I'm confused. And helped
Starting point is 00:32:09 coordinate. Was it an intentional shooting of Big Papi or was it unintentional? Because I thought yesterday or the day before they were saying it wasn't intentional. Well, they're saying there's no way you can get him confused with somebody else because he's such a well-known figure. So the alleged gunman said that he did do the shooting, but he was meant to shoot someone
Starting point is 00:32:26 else. Prosecutors are saying that makes no sense because how do you not recognize Ortiz? He's one of the most recognized people in the country. And was it true about the whole he was knocking off somebody's girl? We don't know any of that yet. We don't know. That was a rumor, but so far, we're just giving you
Starting point is 00:32:41 what information they do have. They do know who's the person that ordered the hit. So D-R got all the suspects, but they still don't know what happened. They're still figuring it out. They might know. They just haven't released it. Ain't nobody snitching. They not snitching. Yeah, he's like, look, I was supposed to shoot someone else. I did do it, but I wasn't looking
Starting point is 00:32:57 for him. So nobody's trying to give up that information. Ain't no need to really tell what the actual situation was. He going to jail regardless. Right now, the United States is sending 1,000 additional troops to the Middle East because of tensions in Iran. So according to the White House, the defense secretary, Patrick Shanahan, said that in a statement, he said, I've authorized approximately 1,000 additional troops for defensive purposes to address air, naval, and ground-based threats in the Middle East. So this is all because there's fears of a confrontation since attacks on two oil tankers at the entrance to the Gulf on Thursday. And Washington is blaming that on Tehran. Just giving you some information in case you hear about what's going on right now.
Starting point is 00:33:37 And earlier, somebody called about the Dominican Republic, letting you know it is a beautiful place and they don't want people to stop going there. But now there's a group of students who ended up going on a trip there and they fell sick the first day. These seniors from Oklahoma went out there from Deer Creek High School. They flew out there June 8th. They went to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana.
Starting point is 00:33:58 That's where at least two Americans have died and others have fallen ill as well. They were staying there. And there were seven members of the group and some of them fell ill. They said the first day the teens were having a great time. But then after that, they went to the resort's Japanese restaurant
Starting point is 00:34:11 and that's when the trip took a turn for the worse. One person said, I woke up, my stomach was cramping and I was sweating, I was freezing. They were rushed by ambulance to the hospital where they got anti-nausea medicine and they've been hooked up to IV since they got there with antibiotics and they're getting hydrated now. Build a wall around the DR, man, until they figure
Starting point is 00:34:31 this thing out. Yeah, we got to figure out what's going on. Tourism in the DR should be dropping significantly until they figure this thing out. And it's a beautiful place to visit, man. The beaches are beautiful. I was there earlier this year myself. I have a lot of fun when I go to DR. I'm supposed to do a trip at the end of this year, so I wonder if that's still going to happen. Don't you have an artist from the Dominican Republic as well? Yeah, Shalo Shaq. At this point, if you're booking trips to the DR and you go there and die, it's a suicide. Oh, goodness.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Because you know what to expect. All right. Well, that's front page news. How do you feel about your homeland envy right now? Yours? The Dominican Republic. I'm not from the DR, man. Well, all right.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Well, that's your front page news. A shout out to all our Dominicans. Absolutely. Now, 800-585-1051. Let's not from DR, man. Well, all right. Well, that's your front page news. A shout out to all our Dominicans. Absolutely. Now, 800-585-1051. Let's talk LeVar Bald. He's accused of sexual comments. Not bald. I said bald.
Starting point is 00:35:13 He is bald, but LeVar Bald. I said bald. I thought I did. Anyway, well, he's accused of sexual comments. Let's hear what he said. LeVar, can I switch gears with you? Because I have a question here. You can switch gears with me anytime.
Starting point is 00:35:23 Let's stay focused here. Now, it didn't sound sexual in nature to me, but I'm not Molly, so I don't know how she took it. The only way I would remotely take it as such is because I remember this scene from Boys in the Hood. Can you drive stick? I can learn if you teach me.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Now, LaVar didn't sound like that, and that's what I'm comparing it to. Alright, well, 800-585-1051. Was that inappropriate? Was it Boys in the Hood one or LaVar? LaVar didn't sound like that, and that's what I'm comparing it to. All right. Well, 800-585-1051. Was that inappropriate? What, the boys in the hood one or LaVar? LaVar, man. LaVar. I didn't honestly hear anything. It didn't seem like he giggled or it didn't seem like he made it with his soft voice.
Starting point is 00:35:55 His voice didn't change. He didn't wink. He didn't lick his lips. I didn't take it. Is that what about you, Yeba? I felt like Molly seemed a little uncomfortable, so it would have been a great time to be like, oh, I didn't mean anything because you could tell that she was like, okay, now let's, you know, stay on track here.
Starting point is 00:36:10 And it was a little nervous laugh that she had, so she might have taken it away. He might not have meant it that way, though, so I can't speak for him. The thing is, also, people just don't like LaVar Ball anymore. Like, LaVar is the same man who last year, you know, I heard even Jemele Hill would say he's the drunk uncle at the picnic. He's entertaining. You either love him
Starting point is 00:36:26 or hate him, but he makes for good TV. But now that Lonzo hasn't panned out to be the star that he, LaVar said he would be and he's no longer a Laker. People just don't want to hear from LaVar anymore. So everything he says annoys people. 800-585-1051. We're asking, is what he said inappropriate? Call us now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Starting point is 00:36:58 Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Laudonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader ofonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tried my country. My forefathers did that themselves.
Starting point is 00:37:13 What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warheads. Oh, my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help!
Starting point is 00:37:25 We need help! We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, guys. I'm Kate Max. As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt,
Starting point is 00:38:56 learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:39:26 Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. E-J-N-V, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. or wherever you get your podcasts. Yes, Sarah. LeVar, can I switch gears with you? Because I have a question here. You can switch gears with me anytime.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Let's stay focused here. All right. So, 800-585-1051, do you think his statement, his comments was inappropriate? That is the question. It didn't sound sexual in nature to me. But, you know, like I said before, I'm not Molly, so I don't know how she took it. And the only reason I'm even remotely taking it as sexual is because I'm old enough. I'm old enough to remember this scene from Boys in the Hood. Can you drive stick?
Starting point is 00:40:29 I can learn if you teach me. Yeah, it didn't sound sexual to me either. You know, he didn't joke. He didn't laugh. He didn't whisper it. His voice kind of stayed the same. I just, I didn't take it that way. Yeah, and I'm only comparing it to Trey and that young lady.
Starting point is 00:40:43 I'm comparing it to that. So to me, it didn't sound that way. But you, the woman, what you thought? I thought that Molly seemed like she was uncomfortable with it. And so she awkwardly moved on from the topic. And I could see why people might think that. But if he's saying that wasn't the intention, he should say. And he did say that it wasn't his intention.
Starting point is 00:41:01 And he said what he meant was that he's okay to switch topics at any time. So if his intention was not that and he says that, then you can't force people to think that he did. He himself is saying that's not what he meant. He didn't mean it in that way.
Starting point is 00:41:18 And I don't have no problem with people checking LaVar Ball if they think that he said something that was inappropriate. I just think it's wild to hear people say that LaVar shouldn't be on TV anymore because literally people have made excuses for LaVar Ball for a long time. Like, you know, I've heard
Starting point is 00:41:31 Jemele Hill call him the drunk uncle at the picnic and say he's entertaining and you either love him or hate him, but he makes for good TV. But now that Lonzo hasn't panned out to be the star that LaVar said he would be and Lonzo's no longer a Laker, people don't want to hear from LaVar said he would be. And Lonzo's no longer a Laker. People don't want to hear from LaVar anymore.
Starting point is 00:41:50 So everything he says annoys people, and now they don't want to hear from him. So he shouldn't be on TV no more. I don't agree with that. I think LaVar Ball can just say my intention was not that. As his rep has said, it was not meant to be that way. And I'm sorry if you felt uncomfortable, but I did not mean that. Well, Nick, good morning, Nick. What's going on, man? You thought it was inappropriate what LaVar Ball did?
Starting point is 00:42:05 Nah, I don't think LaVar was inappropriate. I think Molly, you know, it's her show. She know what it's like for ratings, you know. But LaVar was just being LaVar, man. And as a woman, she probably felt like, you know, people might say inappropriate things to her at times. We don't know what goes on with her behind the scenes, so she might be more sensitive to that.
Starting point is 00:42:21 Sensitive about those things, yeah, absolutely. And you know what I want to know, too, because I didn't notice this. I wonder who reacted first. Did social media react first? And then ESPN put out a statement saying, hey, LaVar was inappropriate. Just trying to capitalize off what social media said. Or did ESPN respond first and then social media? I thought right after they was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:39 He was like, what? What? I didn't mean anything by it. Yeah, but ESPN put out a whole statement saying it was inappropriate and stuff like that. I wonder did they do that because of the reaction from social media. But I would say Miley seemed uncomfortable. Ashley. Yes?
Starting point is 00:42:49 Hey, what did you think about LaVar Ball? Did you think it was inappropriate? No, I don't because he didn't change his tone or anything. It was more so like, okay, you can switch gears with me anytime. I'm ready for any copy. We can talk about anything. I don't think it was sexual at all. I think she had her mind in the desert.
Starting point is 00:43:05 Okay. That's why I took it, because LeVar is always one of those people that when he's on these shows, he's getting, give me all that energy. He wants to be asked those hard questions. We can shift gears any time. Yolanda. What's up? Good morning.
Starting point is 00:43:15 You think it was inappropriate? Hell yeah. Because with kids and any kind of, I can see his face when he said it. That's not what he said. Did you actually see his face? You said it way more sexual than he did. No, you heard it. he said it. That's not what he said. Did you actually see his face? You said it way more sexual than he did. No, you heard it. You heard it. Your wife was in the interview,
Starting point is 00:43:29 and he said, we could give him time to be late. You said, what's up with that? Yeah, I probably would ask him what you meant by that. But he explained it right after. But I'm not assuming that's what he meant, something sexual. He didn't want to get that work in a row. That's what happened. By the way, I always thought the switching gears thing
Starting point is 00:43:45 had to do with the penis. Because it's stick shift. So on Boys in the Hood, when Trey said, do you know how to drive stick? And the girl said, no, I can learn. They didn't say anything about gears in that. What are you talking about? Stick shift is gears.
Starting point is 00:43:58 But they didn't say that in Boys in the Hood. It was a lot different. Stick shift is kind of like moving the... It's moving shifting gears. Nah, I didn't take it the same way. Yeah, that's where your head is. So when you shift in stick shift, it's not shifting gears? It is.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Okay, then. It didn't even say the word gears. Molly specifically, she said, let's switch gears. And he said, you can switch my gears any day. I shift my gears any day. Now, if I say, Charlamagne, you want to learn how to drive stick? I got it. So, yes, I'm going to take it away.
Starting point is 00:44:22 But then if I say, let's shift gears. Okay. That's totally different. I got a penis. Stick yes, I'm going to take it away. But then I was going to say, let's shift gears. Okay. That's totally different. I got a penis. Stick shift. That's my point. So my point is, when a man says that to a woman, does it even make any sense if it is sexual? Don't say it to me.
Starting point is 00:44:34 800-585-1051. We're talking LeVar Ball. Is what he said inappropriate? Call us now. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Hey, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Starting point is 00:44:46 We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us, we're talking LeVar Ball. He got a lot of heat for this comment right here. LeVar, can I switch gears with you? Because I have a question here. You can switch gears with me anytime. Let's stay focused here. All right.
Starting point is 00:45:00 Mm-hmm. People said it was sexual in nature and inappropriate. So we're asking 800-585-1051. Is it inappropriate? We got George on the line. George, good morning. Hey, good morning. You think what LeVar Ball said was inappropriate?
Starting point is 00:45:12 Yes, sir, I did. Hey, DJ Envy, what's going on? What's up, bro? But why? Well, I personally feel like they're trying to demoralize any type of black figure whenever they have a chance on the media. I think LeVar Ball as a black father is out here doing his thing, even though it's
Starting point is 00:45:29 negative around LeVar, excuse me, Lonzo. But I don't think his comments were inappropriate. I think he just legitimately thought they were just changing gifts and trying to use a black man as an example, basically. I mean, listen, people just don't like LeVar Ball anymore.
Starting point is 00:45:46 Like I said, Lonzo hasn't panned out to be the star that LeVar said he would be, and he's not a Laker no more, so people just don't want to hear from LeVar. Have we heard what Miley has to say about all this? That's another good point. So if Miley hasn't said she's uncomfortable or hasn't said she thought it was inappropriate, why everybody tripping? Yeah, I don't know what she's saying. That's another great point.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Hey, good morning. Hey, how y'all doing, man? Big Ballas didn't mean nothing by that. She threw the phrase out first, man. He's obnoxious sometimes, but he's a great husband and a great father. He unintentionally hurt his son's career, you know, but he's a great father. He don't mean no harm. People just don't like him because he's obnoxious sometimes, but he's a great dude.
Starting point is 00:46:21 That's all it is. And when you're obnoxious and you're arrogant and you're an a-hole, if you're not a winner, as soon as you start to fall and you losing, they're going to be on your ass. We've seen it happen a million times. What's your name, Mama Taya? Yeah, Taya. Hey, Taya. Do you think what LaVar Ball did was inappropriate?
Starting point is 00:46:38 Hey, I didn't hear anything inappropriate. I think that he obviously says what he wants to say. If he wanted to say something sexual, he would have just came out and said it. That is very true. That is true, too. He says whatever he wants anyway, so I don't think that would have held him back if he didn't want to say it.
Starting point is 00:46:54 I don't feel like he has a history of saying sexual things. I haven't heard that from him, but I could be wrong, but... D! D! Hey, how you doing? How you doing? What's going on? Hey, now that's sexual. What's up, bro? Charlemagne God. What up, D? What's going on? Hey, now that's sexual. What's up, bro? Charlemagne the God. What up, D?
Starting point is 00:47:07 What's going on? Now, the way Charlemagne just said your name was kind of inappropriate. That sounds inappropriate to me. Of course, if you wanted to be. Hey, he tripping. He tripping. All I said was, what up, D? Knock it off.
Starting point is 00:47:16 I'm from Chicago, Charlemagne. You keep saying all the crazy people start coming from Florida and the Bronx, man. You guys, don't forget about Chicago, man. Hey. So you're crazy? I don't forget about Chicago, man. So you're crazy? I would never forget about D in Chicago. Oh, man. See, that's inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:47:32 That's not forgettable. That was inappropriate. Now, what do you think about LeVar Ball? Hey, man, they need to get this man his own TV show, man. He has one on Facebook? You can't really take what he said serious. I think he was kind of just like going along with what she said. That's all? He was trying to play ball?
Starting point is 00:47:49 Yeah. Oh, man, here we go. Oh, my God, man. Shut up. See what I'm saying? It's because it comes from you. Yeah, I just think, honestly, I just think he was trying to go along with what she said, though. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:48:00 You can't really take him seriously like that. I don't think he meant it any kind of like sexual way like that, though. You know what I'm saying? You can't really take him seriously like that. I don't think he meant it any kind of like sexual way like that, though. You know what I'm saying? But, Angeline, hey, Angeline, he brings up a good point. You're trying to tell with Charlamagne where he's going with this. Right, if Charlamagne said it to you, I would take it sexually. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Listen.
Starting point is 00:48:17 I ain't with none of that, though. Angeline, he brings up a good point. What's that? Thank you, bro. Is Molly upset? Because, see, that's the thing we tend to do. We tend to get in our feelings about situations and come to these conclusions about things. We don't even know how Molly truly feels.
Starting point is 00:48:29 Did Molly say she was uncomfortable? That's true, too. Did Molly say she thought it was inappropriate? All right. We'll take some more of your calls when we come back. 800-585-1051. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:48:38 Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Now, if you just joined us, we're talking LeVar Ball. Now, we got a little heat on him for some comments that he made. Let's hear his comments. LeVar, can I switch gears with you? Because I have a question here.
Starting point is 00:48:53 You can switch gears with me anytime. Let's stay focused here. All right. Now, we're asking 805-85-1051. Are those comments inappropriate? I mean, listen. The only way I would remotely say it was inappropriate is only because I remember this scene from Boys in the Hood.
Starting point is 00:49:11 Can you drive stick? I can learn if you teach me. Totally two different things. Yeah, LeVar didn't sound like that, okay? And that's what I'm comparing it to. The scene from Boys in the Hood was sexual in nature. LeVar Ball, to me, not so much. All right, we got K on the line. K, in nature. LaVar Ball, to me, not so much.
Starting point is 00:49:26 All right, we got K on the line. K, good morning. Yo, good morning, man. We're talking about LaVar Ball. What did you think of his comment? I think he was trying to be slick and get called out for it. That's what happened, man. So you think he was being foul?
Starting point is 00:49:40 You know what? I'm going to tell you why. Because if that was a man that said that to him, he wouldn't have responded with that same response. Come on now. We know what happened. I mean, it would have made more Because if that was a man that said that to him, he wouldn't have responded with that same response. Come on now. We know what happened. I mean, it would have made more sense if he was responding to a man because men are the ones that have stick shifts. Okay?
Starting point is 00:49:52 We ain't talking about stick shifts. We're talking about... Yeah, you know what? Yeah, because if a dude... We're talking about stick shifts here. But if a dude said, hey, let's switch gears, I don't think he would have been like, all right, yeah, well, let's switch gears.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Well, maybe. He could say that, yeah, let's switch gears. I don't know. He may not say you can switch gears with me anytime. If a dude tell you what he's saying, you ain't going to say you can switch gears whenever you want to. Come on.
Starting point is 00:50:13 So you're saying he wouldn't have said that to Stephen A. Smith? Exactly. Hey, can I ask you a question? What's your name? This is Brandon. Add Brandon from the side. Brandon.
Starting point is 00:50:22 Yep. You know how to drop stick? Come on now. Come on now. I ain't going to respond to that. Answer that man. Answer that side. Brandon. Yep. You know how to drive stick? Come on now. Come on now. I ain't gonna respond to that. Answer that man. Answer that man, Brandon. Come on now.
Starting point is 00:50:31 I don't know if you want me to come in or not. Hey, I'm gonna say this. I can't. False. Oh! All right, Brandon. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:38 Okay. Okay, Brandon. What's happening? A little flirty flirty. All right, this morning. Okay. Black men don't cheat. Lessons with each other. All right, now. All right, this morning. Okay. Black men don't cheat unless it's with each other.
Starting point is 00:50:48 All right, now. All right, Brendan. What's the moral of the story? The moral of the story is, you know what? You know what grinds my gears? What grinds your gears? DJ Envy. He's always grinding my gears.
Starting point is 00:50:56 Now, you see how that was inappropriate? That was inappropriate. That could have been taken sexually. I'm definitely going to Human Resources after that because I feel uncomfortable and it feels awkward. I can't wait to see that in the transcript. Charlemagne the God said to me, you know what grinds my kids?
Starting point is 00:51:08 And when I answered what, he said DJ Envy. He's always grinding my kids. How stupid would that look in the transcript? We got rumors on the way. Yes, let's talk about somebody who had 12 strokes and six heart attacks and lived to tell about it. Jesus Christ. Goodness gracious. All right, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. lived to tell about it. Jesus Christ. Goodness gracious.
Starting point is 00:51:25 All right, we'll get into that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Wild room this is. This is wild room. Wild room this is. Somebody to probe in.
Starting point is 00:51:32 Jesus Christ. All right. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Let's get to these rumors. Let's talk Lamar Odom.
Starting point is 00:51:42 Listen up. It's just in. All the gossip. Gossip. The Rumor Reportar Odom. Listen up. It's just in. All the gossip. Gossip. The Rumor Report. Gossip. With Angela Yee. It's the Rumor Report. The Breakfast Club. Well, Lamar Odom was talking to Talib Kweli on the Uproxx series People's Party, and he discusses the health issues that he had, and here's what he had to say.
Starting point is 00:52:02 You wrote that you shook hands with death. While trying to give people the visual of how close to death I was. Right, your heart stopped. Yeah, I'm going to keep real with you too. Like I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks. Wow. Jeez, he even talks about how he played
Starting point is 00:52:16 at a high level in the NBA and with Team USA, but he said, of course, he could have been greater if he never had those struggles with drug addiction that he had. In addition to that, he discusses Jay-Z trying to talk him out of starting a record label. He was keeping it real with me, too. I wish I would listen to him.
Starting point is 00:52:31 And he was just like, what's up with you with this rap? I had a rapper who I believed in a lot. And he was like, nah, homie, like, you should be doing what Magic's doing. You should go into real estate or something. And at the time, I was like... Sounds like sailing advice. Yeah, but at the time, I was like... Sounds like salient advice. Yeah, but at the time, you know, Jay is like a real slick cat.
Starting point is 00:52:49 Yeah. You know what I'm saying? At the time, I don't really have a personal with him. And so I think I took it the wrong way. Like, Vague, these motherfuckers must be scared of you. Oh, God. That's ego. I'm coming for you, Jay.
Starting point is 00:53:01 That's ego talking. Yeah, he's scared. Who was his rapper? Do you remember who his rapper was? I don't know. I'm still stuck on the 12 strokes and 6 heart attacks. I'm not saying you, Jay. That's ego talking. Yeah, he's scared. Who was his rapper? Do you remember who his rapper was? I don't know. I'm still stuck on the 12 strokes and 6 heart attacks. I'm not saying he's lying. I'm just saying I need medical proof of that.
Starting point is 00:53:11 That's all I'm saying. That's a lot that he went through. I need to see medical proof of that, because that's got to be some type of Guinness Book of World Records, and that's actually amazing. 12 strokes, 6 heart attacks, and you live to talk about it? God saved him. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:53:21 Well, I got to see the medical records first before I come to that conclusion. All right. Now, I saw this talk about Tory Lanez, right? So first, everybody was very pro-Tory Lanez with this situation. He posted a video, and apparently it's behind-the-scenes footage of a video shoot that he was in where there was a brown-skinned woman in the video, and it looks like somebody tried to swap her out for a lighter-skinned woman. So he posted,
Starting point is 00:53:46 This is an ongoing problem in our community of entertainment that needs to stop as a black man. Sometimes I'm going to joke about the black community just like we all do but I'm not going to do is allow any of these directors to devalue our black women. Countless times I've seen directors swap out our women of color for women of lighter complexion or women with straighter hair, etc.
Starting point is 00:54:02 It is our responsibility as artists to stand up and not let this happen. It's been time to embrace our women of color. Black is beautiful. Well, after that, the music video director said that all of that was false and that it was all
Starting point is 00:54:18 cap, cap, cap. Now, half of the directing duo, Capone, says the Good Love video that features Tory Lanez said that their team had zero problems with featuring dark-skinned women on camera. And they said it wasn't anybody on their team. They said most of the people present on the set during that particular scene were from Tory Lanez's camp.
Starting point is 00:54:34 And they said that's where the swap must have come from. And they said they are also heavily involved in the Afrobeats scene. And the majority of their work features dark-skinned women. On top of that, Good Love is highlighted by all types of beautiful black women, including the darker-skinned model in question who was seen several times in the music video.
Starting point is 00:54:51 Now, in addition to that, one of the women that were in the video said lies. He asked for both the dark-skinned girl and the light-skinned girl. This clearly is a publicity stunt to cover himself up. And people are saying big facts don't believe the hype. That's what the models from the video are saying. Fake news, Tory Lanez asked for both me and the light-skinned girl to do solo shots. When it was her turn, he said, cut the video to make it appear as if it had something to do with the race. I know the directors very well, and they have made me the lead girl in that video and many others.
Starting point is 00:55:20 He actually never spoke to me on that set and kept telling her how beautiful she was. I'm so confused right now. The girls who are the models in the video that he posted are saying that that's not true. Basically, what happened on set with Tory Lanez said that he made them stop and not swap the girls out. Did they say he thought this out? They're saying that he concocted this
Starting point is 00:55:39 whole thing to make it seem like that's what he was doing. But what Tory said is valid valid though, right? Even though he concocted it, it's still a valid statement, right? Yeah, it's definitely valid, but I guess the directors probably feel like, I don't want to be painted in this light, like I was trying to highlight a lighter skinned woman
Starting point is 00:55:56 because that's not what we do. So, it does take away validation from them as directors, if that's not what really happened. That is true, but I mean, I will say colorism is real and the message of using more dark skinned video vixens is a valid one. Now, Tory Lanez responded to all this and said,
Starting point is 00:56:11 this is the one and only time I'm going to address this until he comes up here. I went out of my way to bring awareness to an important topic of discussion that never gets addressed. The internet has a funny way of trying to take the light off of truthful-ish. If this was a publicity stunt,
Starting point is 00:56:24 why would I be doing it for someone else's music video? Why wouldn't I have paid the females involved? And if I did pick both girls, then how come there's only shots of me with the ebony model and not with the other one? Mind y'all, this video shoot happened three months ago, and behind the scenes, cameraman DM'd it to me the other day.
Starting point is 00:56:39 All parties that were involved know exactly what happened in the 30 minutes that I was at the shoot, whether they want to be truthful or not. I just want to say salute to Wale for always putting dark-skinned women front and center in the Black is Gold video. Y'all be fronting on Wale. Y'all got mad. Before y'all got mad at Tori, y'all was bigging him up crazy
Starting point is 00:56:56 for doing something that guys like Wale always do. So I don't really even know what the issue is. I'm just talking. Yeah, I mean, I guess he made this whole statement about it, and now the people on set are saying it was a whole different story than what he's presenting. We don't know even know what the issue is. I'm just talking. Yeah. I mean, I guess he made this whole statement about it, and now the people on set are saying it was a whole different story than what he's presenting. We don't know what's true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:09 So we only know their side and Tory Lanez's side. We don't know the truth. I mean, I do. But we do know that most of the time they don't put Dotskin Women front and center in these videos. That we know. Regardless of who the directors are. Right.
Starting point is 00:57:20 The point is still valid. All right. So Nas, you might have already heard about this, has his first kids book on the way, I Know I Can, which is really cute. They've released a cover of that and everything. Yes. So apparently this is going to be the first of a series of books.
Starting point is 00:57:35 And according to Mass Appeal, they said our mission is to inspire future generations to the creation of unique toys, apparel, and innovative learning tools. So the first book will be part of a reading series that is geared to empowering kids to be whatever they want to be when they grow up. Great idea. That is an amazing, amazing idea,
Starting point is 00:57:53 especially when you read statistics like 82% of black students and 77% of Hispanic students are not reading well at all. Like illiteracy is a national emergency that's unfolding. All right, I'm Angela Yee and that is your rumor report.
Starting point is 00:58:07 I would love to talk to Nas. We haven't had Nas up here. Ever. I would love to talk to Nas. Has anybody had Nas anywhere in the past 10 years? Every once in a while he'll pop up,
Starting point is 00:58:16 but he really doesn't do too much press or radio. The one time I interviewed Nas in my life, he was like eight hours late, but we waited. You waited eight hours? Yeah, he was like eight hours late. But we waited. We waited? Eight hours?
Starting point is 00:58:26 Yeah, serious. Yep. Sure did. All right. Yeah, what is the last Nas interview? I can't even think of the last Nas interview. I'm Angela Yee, and that's your Rumor Report. All right.
Starting point is 00:58:35 Shout out to Nas. Now, Charlamagne. Yes. Who you giving that donkey to? You know, I really would like to talk to the 709,000 people who follow OJ Simpson on Twitter. I really need y'all to come to the front of the congregation. We'd like to have a goddamn war with y'all. Please.
Starting point is 00:58:45 All right, we'll get to that next. Keep it locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Is your country falling apart? Feeling tired? Depressed? A little bit revolutionary?
Starting point is 00:58:54 Consider this. Start your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this. It's surprisingly easy. There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete. Everybody's doing it.
Starting point is 00:59:06 I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a great colonial tradition. The Waikana tried my country. My forefathers did that themselves. What could go wrong?
Starting point is 00:59:21 No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead. Oh my God. What is that? Bullets. Bullets. We need help! We need help!
Starting point is 00:59:33 We still have the off-road portion to go. Listen to Escape from Zakistan. And we're losing daylight fast. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.
Starting point is 01:01:22 This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself. You're trying your best. And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Keep the Breakfast Club humbled with Slander the Breakfast Club. Hate me if you want to, love me if you want, but just use your common sense. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 01:02:01 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. It's time to slander the Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. It's time to slander The Breakfast Club. You can call us up right now and say whatever you want about any one of us, all right? David, good morning. Good morning. How are you, man? What's up, bro?
Starting point is 01:02:15 Slander The Breakfast Club, man. Yeah, man. I want to say shout out to everybody over there. But first off, man, I need to slander you, DJ Envy, man. I'm a big fan, you know, but I'm concerned that your music, you keep rotating the same songs all the time, man. I agree with you, bro. I agree with you.
Starting point is 01:02:30 He sucks. I agree with you, man. I agree with you, Dave. He sucks. His music selection sucks. Yeah, it's the worst. You know, I heard Charlemagne say one time, you know, they call in for DJ Envy, you want to put in your own songs.
Starting point is 01:02:41 But he has his own mix name already. So why are we even trying? Exactly. But what do you want to hear in your own songs, but he has his own mix name already. So why are we even trying? Exactly. But what do you want to hear in the mix today? I want to hear something like, I don't know, from some big, I don't know. All right, let's see if he does it for you.
Starting point is 01:02:54 It'll never happen on a Tuesday, I know. Good luck. Thank you. It ain't Biggie's birthday. It ain't Mark's knife. I don't pick the songs during the show. During the mix, I play what's hot in the club. So you're going to hear
Starting point is 01:03:05 Megan Thee Stallion. You're going to hear City Girls. You're going to hear them records that's hot in the club. You're going to hear DaBaby.
Starting point is 01:03:10 You're going to hear the songs that's like you in the club. I don't... Anyway. Jay! What's going on? What's going on,
Starting point is 01:03:15 Breakfast Club? Good morning. What's up, Jay? Slay under the Breakfast Club, bro. First off, Charlamagne, Black Men Do Cheat,
Starting point is 01:03:21 Angel Lee, original Black and Yellow Girl, Love You, Envy, I Hate light-skinned dudes. All of you. Whoa. With the one-eyed girls looking like I'll be sure. I don't get down with you guys.
Starting point is 01:03:33 Go back in the house. Let us, you know, feel dudes as chill. Have a nice day. Bye. That colorism stuff is not cool at all. I like that. I like that. He definitely smashed his girl or smashed his mom.
Starting point is 01:03:43 One of the other. Oh, my gosh. That's crazy. Omar. Yo. Slam to his girl, smashed his mom. One of the other. Oh, my gosh. That's crazy. Omar. Yo. Slam to the Breakfast Club. Yo, what up, family? How you doing?
Starting point is 01:03:50 Who that? Who that? My man Envy? Yes, sir. You could tell somebody about to talk crazy when they do all that. Who, who, who, who that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because Envy, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:03:59 You high yellow. I like that. But I'm still upset with light-skinned dudes from back in the 80s and all that. What is with this light-skinned talk? Everybody relax. Let them get this off. I'm always going to be mad at you. I'm still upset with light-skinned dudes from back in the 80s and all that. What is with this light-skinned talk? Everybody relax. Let them get this off. I'm always going to be mad at you. I'm mad at you, Elder Bars, Christopher Williams.
Starting point is 01:04:10 Ah! You're high-gelo. You're from Queens and all that. Oh, my gosh. Light-skinned dudes and Queens dudes are the same. Light-skinned dude must have smashed your girl, man. Could you relax and let colorism flourish? Charlamagne, you got to stop talking all the ****,
Starting point is 01:04:27 don't talk or just come clean and say that you like dudes sometimes. Oh, my God. That is true. You've been talking gayness all day. You be confusing me, B. Just come clean. That is true. Why can't I just like gayness without liking the sodomy?
Starting point is 01:04:37 Nah, man, nah. I don't like none of it. Man, if you're a real man, you're going to be, you know what I'm saying, stand up. You can be a real man and be gay. Nah, you can't be a real man and be gay. Nah. That is not true,'m saying, stand up? You can be a real man and be gay. Nah, you can't be a real man and be gay. That is not true, sir. You can't take a d***. If you're a real man, do mad things.
Starting point is 01:04:51 You cut the wood down, you build the fire, you go hunt the squirrel and all that. It's all about cutting wood in the gay community. What's your problem? You said real men hunt squirrels? You just told me to cut wood and to go chase squirrels. You know what squirrels chase?
Starting point is 01:05:07 Nuts. Yeah, you're pretty. Yeah, you're real pretty, but you need a better body, though. I like you and all that. You're pretty, but your body needs to tone up. You need to thicken that up. You know what I'm saying? Go to D.R. and get that right.
Starting point is 01:05:17 I'm not doing that, but I appreciate it. I'm absolutely okay with not having surgery. But you need a hug, bro. But thank you. What you mean you need a hug? This is Slant at a Breakfast Club. You sound so upset. That's what he's supposed to do. I like your face with not having surgery. But you need a hug, bro. But thank you. What you mean he need a hug? This is Slant at a breakfast club. He sounds so upset. That's what he's supposed to do.
Starting point is 01:05:28 I like your face almighty, B. You said you like my face? Yes, he likes your face. No, I like Yee's face. And he wants to go chase a n***a. But you need a better body, though, because you're too petite and little. So what about Yee's face on my body?
Starting point is 01:05:43 Just keep it mad real and all that. I like all that, but I need to tighten up some things. What about ye face on my body? Oh, my God. Do you like Charlamagne's hips? All right. All right, bro. I don't like dudes, but I just like saying gay stuff. That's what I mean. That's what I mean.
Starting point is 01:06:02 I like dudes. Nobody likes light-skinned guys today, huh? Slander the Breakfast Club. 800-585-1051. Slander us now. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Keep the Breakfast Club humble with Slander the Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 01:06:14 Tell them be humble. I'm sitting down. How about a true perp dog? Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are The Breakfast Club. It's time for the Slander The Breakfast Club. Who's this?
Starting point is 01:06:28 This is James from Jersey. Jay, what's up, man? Slander The Breakfast Club. Go ahead, bro. What's going on? DJ Envy, I thought you had some pull up there. You keep playing the same music. You keep saying you ain't picking it.
Starting point is 01:06:38 He sucks. I agree with you, bro. Envy does have pull. I don't put... You know what? What you want to hear, bro? He ain't got no pull. None.
Starting point is 01:06:46 Let's see. Let's see. None. Charlamagne. Black privilege. Loved it. Shook one's trash. All you did was reiterate
Starting point is 01:06:52 what you said in the first book. Okay. Anjali Yee. Anjali Yee, I know you a little bit better than your co-hosts on lip service.
Starting point is 01:06:59 They all some birds. Stop it. That's not true. Those are my girls. These are real girls. Real women. But thank you, man. We appreciate you slandering the Breakfast Club. He's supposed to slander me, not my friends.
Starting point is 01:07:09 TJ! Yes? Slander the Breakfast Club, TJ. Hey, I was just, uh, I was calling, you know, I wanted to slander Ivy, but I have nothing to hate on today. But I was calling to slander Charlamagne with those action figures in the background. I haven't got an answer
Starting point is 01:07:23 why they're all in a different pose. I think one of them is pregnant now. What action figure? What are you talking about? A pregnant action figure? Those little guys behind you, they're always in a weird pose. Bro, what are you talking about? Are you high early in the morning?
Starting point is 01:07:39 Yo, don't smoke weed and call up here, bro. Nobody sits behind me, bro. What you talking about? Hello, who's this? Hey, what's up, y'all? This is J-Man. Good morning, good morning. This is J-Man? J-Man's in call up here, bro. Nobody sits behind me, bro. What you talking about? Hello, who's this? Hey, what's up, y'all? This is J-Man. Good morning, good morning. This is J-Man?
Starting point is 01:07:48 This is the Breakfast Club, man. Yeah, J-Man. Oh, J-Man. What, you thought he said? I thought he said he was gay, man. Nah, nah, Shia LaBeouf. Nah, nah, J-Man. Okay, what's up, Jamie?
Starting point is 01:07:57 All right, nah. All right, I got a little constructive criticism. You know, y'all my folks, so I ain't trying to slander y'all or nothing like that. So I'm going to start off with Envy. Envy, I like to say, you know, you got to get a little tough of skin. I know a lot of times you do take jokes, you let stuff roll off your shoulders. But every now and then, you know, you get real, real sensitive, my brother. I don't know if it's the same.
Starting point is 01:08:17 How do I get sensitive? I don't get sensitive. What you mean I'm getting sensitive? I think Envy has very tough skin. I'm just joking. Go ahead. He takes a lot. Hey, shut up, man.
Starting point is 01:08:24 You do. Why'd you get sensitive about that? That was probably gay. He takes a lot. Hey, shut up, man. You do. Why'd you get sensitive about that? That was probably gay. I take a lot. No, it wasn't. You do take a lot. What's up with y'all, man? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:08:32 Y'all think everything gay. Y'all are silly. Nah, nah, none of that. All right, next. Yee. Miss Yee. Yes. You do the rumor report, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:08:41 And me, I graduated from Florida State with a communications degree and one thing we was taught is to be a reporter, not a repeater. So a lot of times when you're given a rumor report, you know,
Starting point is 01:08:53 you're trying to make them have a follow-up question for you and you're like, well, I don't know. Well, I don't know. That's just what they said. That's what I read.
Starting point is 01:08:59 That's why it's called a rumor. Yeah, I mean, look, I can't make these things up because I get liable for that. No, no, but they all have like a simple follow-'ll get liable for that. You know, but I have like a simple follow-up question. That's why it's a legend.
Starting point is 01:09:07 You need to do your research a little bit further, you know, to report it to me and not just repeat. Sounds like you repeated what you heard in class. Go ahead. I definitely did
Starting point is 01:09:16 because I learned that. Well, you just told me not to repeat things and you just did that. Well, I'm not reporting that. I'm trying to give you a little constructive criticism, you know what I'm saying, ma?
Starting point is 01:09:24 All right. And, uh, Charlamagne, I got another positive thing for you, my brother. you a little constructive criticism. You know what I'm saying, man? All right. Charlamagne, I got another positive thing for you, my brother. I remember back in the day when I first started this thing, everybody would, like, rag on you about being negative or, you know, saying anything with a bad connotation. But lately, man, you've been real positive. You've been uplifting people. You're doing a lot of great things.
Starting point is 01:09:40 So I say thank you for holding it down for Dark Skin Brothers. Oh, my God. What is with this light skin? Dark skin, y'all. Listen, because everybody shut up. Don't cut him off when the Darskin brothers. Oh, my God. What is with this Lyskin-Darskin stuff? Listen, because everybody shut up. Don't cut him off when he's complimenting me. Continue, sir. Shut up.
Starting point is 01:09:50 No, that's it. He has no more. Continue. Anything else? No, I was just saying, like, thank y'all for what y'all do. I appreciate it. Like I said, I want to plan to start the Christmas, you know what I'm talking about? I agree with everything you said.
Starting point is 01:10:01 I don't. Especially the part about me. I definitely disagree with that. We got rumors on the way. I don't want to say anything because I don't. Especially the part about me. I definitely disagree with that. Now, we got rumors on the way. I don't want to say anything because I don't want to report anything anymore. Well, I don't want to answer. No, you don't want to repeat anything anymore. I don't want to answer because I don't want to be too sensitive and too light-skinned.
Starting point is 01:10:14 Yes, well, I'm going to repeat what 50 Cent had to say on social media and who he's beefing with now. We're just trying to instigate this beef with DJ Envy and 50 Cent because of Envy's car show. Yeah, stop it, man. I don't owe 50 no money, man. Alright, rumors when we come back is the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Starting point is 01:10:34 Good morning. Hi. Happy Tuesday. Happy Tuesday to you, too. Is there such a thing? Yeah, of course it is. Yes. We're alive. Well, let's get to these rumors. Let's talk. Keep it up with the Kardashians. This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee. Rumor has it. On the Breakfast Club. So listen up.
Starting point is 01:10:53 Well, the two-part finale of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is on the way. And that's going to address the drama between Khloe and Tristan Thompson. It's interesting because they definitely kept the show alive with this drama featuring Jordan Woods. And Jordan Woods has commented in advance of this series coming out. Here's what happens on the trailer for Keeping Up With The Kardashians. What's going on? Tristan and Jordan were all over each other last night.
Starting point is 01:11:22 We just need to figure out what the whole full story is. Tristan admitted it. I'm just like, what were you thinking? I knew who he was. I never in a million years thought that's who she was. It just sucks. It has to be so public. They got to make these faster.
Starting point is 01:11:42 This happened like months ago. Yeah, because it's never as good on TV as it is in real time. Imagine it was playing out in real time. Because Jordan already did Red Table Talk. Yeah, she did everything. Tristan gave her a kiss, but she said it was nothing. People have passed that day over that. Like, nobody even cares anymore.
Starting point is 01:11:57 Did they talk last week or something in the same club with each other? Didn't they speak or something? I don't know what's going on. But Jordan says that she's looking to move forward and pass the drama. She said life moves on, money doesn't stop, the world doesn't stop, and hopefully everyone is just, you know, going forward. And now Jordan and Kylie can stop sneaking around when they want to go to lunch
Starting point is 01:12:14 or they want to go out. Now they can hang out in public really now because the show finally aired. And I'm sure the production company said, alright, y'all can't be seen until the show airs. Right, we don't want people to know what's gonna happen. You're spoiling it. Some people think the whole thing is contrived. Probably is. That family never know.
Starting point is 01:12:27 Who cares? They eat it up. It's like OJ's Twitter. We have an appetite for this salaciousness. America loves it. That's why they're the first family of America.
Starting point is 01:12:35 All right. Now there's a previously unheard verse from Kanye's What Would Meek Do that has surfaced. And for some reason everyone's talking about it.
Starting point is 01:12:43 Here he is addressing J. Cole. Too complex for complex con. You heard Cole on that song. has surfaced and for some reason everyone's talking about it. Here he is addressing J. Cole. How can one man take a company down? I can see Nike contemplating that. Like, bro, we're both, what's the best plan? I don't know. Hire Ye's best man. Maybe sign Travis, sign Don C. Sheesh.
Starting point is 01:13:15 He's really mad at Nike. He's rapping. Oh, no. I understand why that verse was unheard. There was no passion in that verse. It's just because of the content that's making you be like, oh, that was something, but that was whack. Let's talk about Nike and tiredness, people.
Starting point is 01:13:29 Drizzy wearing Yeezys on the load off. Only repping Nike for promo. The company growing faster than Flojo. And we did it with no logo. It don't feel right till I feel like Phil Knight. Going for six rings like a field toe, Mike. No passion in those bars whatsoever. Fart on those. Was Drake really wearing Yeezys on the low?
Starting point is 01:13:51 They live next to each other, so I'm sure they see each other all the time. You think he was mowing the lawn in his Yeezys? Yeah, maybe he was mowing the lawn in his Yeezys. Cleaning the pool in his Yeezys. If you're going to make those kind of statements in those records, you got to deliver it better. You got to deliver it with more passion. I know I can tell why that verse was unheard until now.
Starting point is 01:14:07 Well, maybe he just never planned to put it out and it was just like a reference for himself. So maybe he wasn't rapping as passionately as he would have if it was really about to come out. I'm going to try to mow my lawn in the Yeezys tomorrow. It's probably very comfortable. Very comfortable. And very orthopedic. There you go. All right.
Starting point is 01:14:22 The MTV Movie and TV Awards winners have been released. You know, if you guys watch the MTV. Did you guys watch it? No. Movie and TV Awards. Best movie was Endgame. Avengers Endgame. Best show, Game of Thrones.
Starting point is 01:14:33 I'm sure you agree with that. Yes. Best performance in the movie, Lady Gaga for A Star is Born. I didn't see that either. All right. I'll give you some more. Best kiss. I didn't see this.
Starting point is 01:14:43 Noah Centineo and Lana Condor in To All the Boys I've Loved Before. I don't even know more. Best Kiss. I didn't see this. Noah Centineo and Lana Condor and To All The Boys I've Loved Before. I don't even know who those people are. Now, Reality Royalty went to Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. Also, Best Documentary was Surviving R. Kelly and Most Frightened Performance went to Sandra Bullock in Bird Box. Best Host was Nick Cannon for Wildin' Out
Starting point is 01:15:01 and Best Musical Moment was A Star Is Born Shallow. All right, 50 Cent versus Adrian Broner. Now, 50 Cent said that he blocked Adrian Broner. And Adrian Broner said, at 50 Cent, you blocked me. I need to borrow a million punk ass and wear commie. 50 responded, F-U-A-B. I almost said it. We still mad about that money you made us lose on the fight.
Starting point is 01:15:22 Yeah, I blocked your ass because you effing up the money. So, I guess that's what happened. Now, Envy, you made us lose on the fight. Yeah, I blocked your ass because you effing up the money. So I guess that's what happened. Now, Envy, you have something going on. Your car show on 50 Cent is bringing his fleet of cars. Minus the Moussain, I guess he's returning. I think he's going to bring that too. I'm not sure. I thought he hated it, the new Moussain.
Starting point is 01:15:35 He does, but I think he owns it, so I don't think he's going to get rid of it. All right. So what happens in this situation? Do you have to pay 50? No. Is there some type of debt involved? No, that's my guy. He's lending me the cars
Starting point is 01:15:46 for the car show. A lot of people thought that was their guy. Ro Timmy was 50's guy. You're right. Yeah, you're right. I would love for you to owe 50. Not me.
Starting point is 01:15:54 That would be awesome. That would be entertaining. Not me. Well, the car show is September 7th. You can get your tickets. We announced everybody that's going to be there
Starting point is 01:15:59 that's going to have their cars there. Offset, call me. Offset is sending a fleet. Shout to Offset. Offset's a real dude. I really like Offset. Shout to Offset. CeCe Sabathia will have their cars there. Offset, call me. Offset is sending a fleet. Shout to Offset. Offset's a real dude. I really like Offset. Shout to Offset.
Starting point is 01:16:07 CeCe Sabathia will have his cars there. 50 Cent, of course. Fabulous will have his cars there. Spin King, 2 Chainz. There's a couple of others. You get Cardi's cars? I didn't ask Cardi this year because I had Cardi's cars last year,
Starting point is 01:16:20 but I might get Cardi's cars this year as well. So what day is the car show? September 7th. So 50 will probably start calling you to collect around the A for the knife. Yeah. Hopefully not. Pusha T will have his cars there. Swiss Pizza have some of his cars there.
Starting point is 01:16:35 I got some more to announce as well, but I just want to make sure I'm getting their cars. So it's going to be a lot. It's going to be a great fun time. It's going to be jumpies for kids. It's going to be a great time. Kids under five are free, and it's indoors, so you ain't got to worry about rain, weather, or anything like that. We're going to be jumpies for kids. It's going to be a great time. Kids under five are free and it's indoors

Starting point is 01:16:51 I'm going to bring my car. Really? Well, just because I'm parking it in the parking lot. Well, shut up. All right, I'm Angela Yee and that's your rumor report.
Starting point is 01:16:58 All right, thank you, Miss Yee. Revolt, we'll see you guys tomorrow. Everybody else, the People's Choice Mix is up next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody.
Starting point is 01:17:06 It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God. We are the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning. Ah, man. Shout to Mama, Miss Anita. Mama Anita. I just texted Mama Anita back from Father's Day.
Starting point is 01:17:20 I didn't realize. Well, that happens sometimes. I didn't hit a lot of people back for Father's Day as well. Me neither. All right. Because I'm a father to a lot of you. You're a father to a lot of these stupid. When we come back, positive note, don't move.

Starting point is 01:17:39 Let me shout out to everybody that's going to be in New Orleans this Sunday. You know, I'm doing a real estate seminar thing where we're teaching people actually how to invest in real estate and how to create generational wealth. Let me shout out to Larry Murrow. That's the homie out there, Larry Murrow. He owns a couple of restaurants. He owns one. He's opening another one. He owns a bunch of real estate.
Starting point is 01:17:57 Also, Sidney Torres. Sidney Torres is coming too. He's going to speak to people. Sidney Torres, when Katrina hit, he knew that the state needed help, so he created a sanitation company, started picking up the trash, sold it, started buying real estate.
Starting point is 01:18:14 Now he owns so much in New Orleans. He owns the Cove in the Bahamas. He owns so much, so he's actually going to come and talk to people about investing in real estate, how he got his start. That's pretty dope. That's good. They definitely needed that sanitation pickup. One day I was leaving Essence Festival and we drove past Bourbon Street at like 4 in the morning. When I tell you.
