Whether you're mad or blessed.
It's time to get up and get something.
Call up now.
800-585-1051.
We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club.
Hello, who's this?
This is Zach out of Houston.
Zach out of Houston, man.
Zach, what up, man?
Get it off your chest, bro.
What's up, man?
Hey, Charlamagne, good morning.
Peace, Zach.
Good morning.
Morning.
Hey, yo, so I got a two-year-old and I got some kids around my same age.
What they eating?
Because my son eats juice, crackers, and strawberries.
That's not it.
That's your fault.
Yeah, that's your fault.
I'll be honest with you.
That's my fault, man.
I got the green beans.
He won't eat them.
No.
I keep telling y'all, when a kid get hungry, a kid going to eat anything.
Y'all, what happens is these kids start bucking back when they don't want something,
and we bow down to them and give them what they want.
Yeah.
You shouldn't give your child that many snacks that's how all the parents out there
uh for my last daughter my last daughter never really ate baby food she ate like real food we
did that we did that we did the whole try to match things up you know do all that he did it he did
good at first but now but like Charlamagne said,
the baby gotta be eating something. Y'all even giving
that baby snacks? Y'all giving that baby crackers?
Y'all giving that baby... Oh, well, no. Eventually,
eventually he'll eat. I guess he'll eat
whatever the baby got. You gotta starve him out.
Gotta starve him out, man.
But try to find things that
the baby will eat. Like, my daughter
loves, and she's not even two years
old, but my daughter loves, like, the not even two years old but my daughter loves like
the little the chicken fingers that you could um bake in the oven no man y'all want to check
your fingers these kids my daughter loves that my daughter loves chicken fingers ain't no better
than the stuff y'all talking about you can't chicken finger okay but that's better than
crackers and strawberries i don't know if it is actually yes it is man processed chicken fingers
over fresh strawberries well it's not prize not processed what is it then envy it's chicken breast white chicken breast not processed you said chicken fingers over fresh strawberries? Well, it's not processed. What is it then, Envy?
It's chicken breast.
White chicken breast, not processed.
You said chicken fingers.
Well, no.
They're the chicken breast.
Oh, that's different.
Yeah, chicken breast is different.
No, it's not chicken fingers from a fast food place, but I would try that.
Also, my child likes things like rice, macaroni and cheese.
Yeah.
And then I throw in broccoli.
I think it's the noodle.
My child loves broccoli.
Hey, y'all sound crazy. My kids like food. like food that's all y'all saying now because you're naming food because if you got a picky kid like you know
i got i had picky kids that like you said well only eat strawberries there's something about
strawberries that the kids like strawberries bananas but that's good but making me more
fruit but they need a little more substance they need a little more meat pause fruit is good
strawberries and bananas is good but they need some meat more substance. They need a little more meat, Paul. Fruit is good. Strawberries and bananas is good. But they need some meat, too. Some protein.
It's the processed stuff that's killing our kids.
Or killing us, too, goddammit.
Alright, well, I'm gonna try some of that. Hey, but can I
get a book, a hat? Yeah, I got you.
Hold on, okay? If they actually send it to you this time,
you have me lying to the people.
Hold on, alright? I got Black Effect
hats here. I got all types of books. I got
my own book, Shook One. I got
Tameka Mallory, State of Emergency, Anita Koufax, Shallow Waters.
But, you know, the producers got to send them out.
Yeah, real love.
Real life, real love is here, too.
Yep.
Hello, who's this?
It's Blake.
Blake, what up?
Get it off your chest.
What's up, man?
Look here.
I don't know if y'all remember what y'all was doing in 1993.
No.
Hell no.
But in 1993, I met this woman.
And we fell in love.
And I wanted to be a hot boy.
I ran the hole.
How old were you in 1993?
I was 18.
Okay, okay.
She was 16.
So come on, get to the story.
Now you're 48.
What's up?
So 30 years to the day that we met,
after we went and lived our lives and, you know,
matured on other people's hands, we got married. Okay. On the day that we met, that's when we lived our lives and, you know, matured on other people's hands.
We got married.
Okay.
On the day that we met, 30 years later.
That's amazing, brother.
Congratulations, King.
Shout your queen out.
I want to shout out my beautiful, beautiful wife, Sheila Gaines.
And I tried to call her the day of, but I got shut down.
But that's another thing.
But I just wanted to get that out there.
When you say you got sat down, you went to jail?
No, no, he said he got shut down.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
No, no, I didn't go to jail.
I just wasn't mature enough to handle the woman.
Oh, got you, got you, got you.
I wanted to be a hot boy.
Got you.
I wanted to be a drug deal.
I wanted to be a pimp, a player.
Well, I'm glad you grew up I was 15 in 1993
I don't remember anything from 1993
I'm sitting here trying to think
1993 specifically?
15? I can't recall much

It's bar time, man.
It's bar time. Let's go.
Check it out. I said, listen, this right here gonna be something just for the record books.
Watch how I cast these lines with bait on the hook.
My brother told me, slow down, son, so they can hear you better.
So from now on, I'm killing them slow to make the taste better.
You already know what it is.
It's not a pop quiz.
I'm hand to hand.
Hiding the strip for large percentages.
They saying artists come and they go.
But I know that fire brings heat to them campers.
Marshmallow flow.
And even though it's all about bars and real rappers, got culture vokers all in the
way for the X-Fact I represent with
four clips on the run, known identity
at the chop house and meeting for
racks and artillery. Obviously
most of the cats are made men, but they
pose and they pretend to get hit with
10, but check it. They talking again.
Bars are one to one. Skip the
grill, give them that hot plate feel.
Today, well done OG
You got some bars
Charlie

The Breakfast Club.
The Breakfast Club. The Breakfast Club.
Is your country falling apart?
Feeling tired?
Depressed?
A little bit revolutionary?
Consider this.
Start your own country.
I planted the flag.
I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There's 55 gallons of water, 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it.
I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
I am the Queen of Ladonia.
I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg.
I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Why can't I trade my own country?
My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong?
No country willingly gives up their territory.
I was making a rocket with a black powder
you know, with explosive warhead.
Oh my god. What is that?
Bullets. Bullets.
We need help!
We need help!
We still have the off-road portion to go.

but you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt,
learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams.
I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves.
For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step.
And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.
This increment of small, determined moments.
Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love.
I forgive myself.
It's okay.
Like grace.
Have grace with yourself.
You're trying your best.
And you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing.
Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before.

Hey, I'm Jana Kramer.
As they say, those that cannot do, teach.
Actually, I think I finally got it right.
So take the failures I've had the second or even third or whatever, maybe the fourth time around.
I'm Jenny Garth.
29 years ago, Kelly Taylor said these words, I choose me.
She made her choice.
She chose herself.
When it comes to love,

Hey, y'all.
Nimany here.
I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records.
Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop.
Flash, slam, another one gone.
Bash, bam, another one gone.
The crack of the bat and another one gone.
The tip of the cap, there's another one gone.
Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history,
like this one about Claudette Colvin,
a 15-year-old girl in Alabama
who refused
to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing.
Check it. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records.
Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise.
Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Ladies and gentlemen, Sukiyana.
Good morning.
Good morning.
What's up, girl?
How you doing?
I feel really good right now.
All right, so I want to kick it off with this.
Okay.
So we know you as Sukiyana.
Who is Destiny Laverne Henderson?
Who the f*** is Laverne? Well, me too, Delaware. Laverne? Now, you know you tried Sukiana. Who is Destiny Laverne Henderson? Who the f*** is Laverne?
Laverne? Now you know you tried it.
Lynette.
I'm glad she corrected me
because I didn't want her to run away from the name altogether.
So when I said Laverne, I knew she was going to correct me and say Lynette.
Why would Laverne a man's name?
Well, who is no Laverne?
Oh!
That ain't no man's name.
Laverne is an old woman's name. Oh, okay. Laverne is a man's name. Now I know Laverne. That ain't no man's name. Laverne is an old woman's name.
No, Laverne is a man's name.
Shut up.
You wrong for that bitch.
Shut up.
No, bitch, you was wrong first.
But I didn't say my name was Laverne.
Okay, Laverne.
I'm sorry.
I'm Destiny Lynette Henderson.
Who is that nice, wholesome young lady from Wilmington, Delaware?
I thought she was from Florida.
No, no, no.
I mean, I be outside.
Like, you feel me?
Like, I be everywhere.
So, I was born in Wilmington, Delaware.
That's where I'm from.
Destiny is who you get right now.
I'm just, I'm a baby.
That's what I think.
Because this ain't Suki.
No, Suki gonna come.
Suki gonna come.
So, Suki with the good coochie.
Who named you that?
Was it an ex-boyfriend?
A long-time boyfriend?
I mean, I got like a couple kids now.
You know?
Like, why y'all want to know about my coochie so bad?
I know what I'm saying.
That's what I told you, dumbass.
I know where the name came from.
If she said where DJ Envy came from, I could tell her.
If you say where Charlamagne came from, you could tell her.
If I said Charlamagne with the good boonkie.
What's boonkie?
Y'all know what boonkie is? It's not a booty hole. Y'all in South Carolina, we say boonkie. Is that a bootyky? You don't know what boonky is?
It's not booty hole.
We say boonky.
Is that booty hole?
Boonky, yeah.
Okay.
And I love that for you.
So, Rico,
you see nothing wrong with that?
I just feel like
if we would get to my name,
you know,
I just,
you know,
I'm a fruitful queen.
Okay.
Since we still got this voice,
let me ask you this. Not too long ago, you said you didn't want, you did not I'm a fruitful queen. Okay. Since we still got this voice, let me ask you this.
Not too long ago, you said you did not want to be ghetto no more.
You wanted to be, you know, classier, I guess.
Okay.
You know, where did that stem from?
Did that stem from, what, commentators or, you know, spectators, critics?
No, no, no, no, no.
It definitely didn't stem from, like, commentators or spectators or the popcorn crew.
Got you.
Honestly, I'm just growing as a woman. got you i am growing you know and i feel like it's just because i came from the hood
don't mean that i forever i have to be you know ghetto ain't nothing wrong with being ghetto you
know i thought i just in the interview you said you want to you you would fart and yeah i will
fart in the mouth i said that yes you think that's ghetto no i used to say that all the time. Back in the day, that was my thing.
I used to say, you know, you suck a fart out of a girl's butt.
That was a sign of love and respect.
That's a sign of love and respect.
Yeah, I don't think that's ghetto.
I just think that's disgusting.
This is nasty.
Yeah.
This is nasty.
I never said I didn't want to be nasty no more.
I said I don't want to be ghetto.
But if a man wants to suck a fart out my ass, I'm going to let him.
I love that.
Let's get it.
Now, you also said since he brought it up and only him, he brought it up that you would like to be on as well.
She shouted out to Diddy first.
You said and only him.
She shouted at Diddy first.
Then she said.
She shouted out.
Yeah.
But that's the only comparison that she had to come through.
Because earlier, somebody had said that they like to be peed on.
You know what I'm saying?
I thought it wasn't the career. She said she was showing love i said because she is in supportation
yeah supportation at the end of the day i don't know what i might do for somebody that i love
yeah like i'm a very submissive queen that's right that's why i like to talk to somebody
with leadership skills because if i talk to a drug dealer he probably had me in the hood and i don't
want to do that no more drug dealers have a fantastic leadership skills. Because if I talk to a drug dealer, he probably have me in a hood and I don't want to do that no more.
Drug dealers have a fantastic leadership skills, man.
They do. I love drug dealers.
I think there's not a drug dealer out here that couldn't have been, especially if you was a kingpin.
You could have been the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
I'm dating kingpins, of course, and my daddy was a drug dealer.
So that's okay.
But at the end of the day, I feel like,
yeah, let me fart in that mouth.
What is happening? Are you at least on OnlyFans?
Are you getting paid for this?
You know how much I made from OnlyFans? Are you getting paid for this? Is that your boyfriend?
You know how much I made from OnlyFans?
How much?
A million.
More than a million.
Is the IRS notice?
They know now.
They know now.
And I pay my taxes.
But we're not even just talking about OnlyFans.
We're talking about posters.
This s*** don't want viral.
I'm blessed with one of them good looking cats.
I don't know what y'all done seen.
But yeah, I'm really one of them girls. Yeah, I know you. Oh, you don't know what's going on. Yeah, because I'm blessed with one of them good looking cats. I don't know what y'all done seen. But yeah, like I'm really one of them girls.
Yeah, I know you.
Oh, you don't know what's going on.
What's going on?
Yeah, because I'm something irregular that you ain't never seen before.
So I'm going to get you used to it.
Hence the name Suki with the good coochie.
It ain't good for nothing.
Listen, you get paid off and that's what happens.
Which brings me to my next question.
Let's go.
Are you still on OnlyFans literally currently right now?
I'm not on OnlyFans right now.
I'm focused on my career and that's as an artist
and as a TV star.
Absolutely.
People were mad at you
a couple of weeks ago.
People were mad at you
a couple of weeks ago, right?
Yeah, you wouldn't say that so bad.
With L.A. Lee Chopper.
L.A. Lee Chopper, dude.
That's right.
With my hair.
Didn't he come on the show?
He came on the show.
What you saying?
What you saying?
He said y'all was cool.
No, the f*** he did.
He said Soxie did.
Now, now you collide with the eyebrows.
Get into it.
He get them threaded.
He get them threaded.
I thought you said y'all wanted to do it.
I didn't.
What you saying?
He said that.
He said Soxie want to do it.
And that's my girl.
She do it.
So you didn't want to do it.
So basically, what you want to say is, no, I'm not the one that said I wanted to do it.
I went along with the flow and I didn't want to be a party pooper.
Okay.
So one thing about it, we on South Beach, me and my EM, we like to turn up, you know,
and we all outside, we twerking on the ground and I don't know who the hell said, grab the
hair and start it.
I just like, I went with it.
Yeah.
At first, no.
At first I was like, I'm not doing that.
It's like, it's cool for others.
That might be whatever they think.
But me, that's a missive play
I was actually having a good time the missus missus play like if my man wanna walk me like a dog
I'm gonna walk me like a dog. I'm walking like a dog. I'm a whip him with my wig
I'm gonna put candle wax on his ass. I'm gonna beat his ass
I'm gonna stretch his ass little mama had a problem with it. She said something you respond responded to little mama yeah yeah but little mama had a problem with him too yeah yeah i did not make her cry
you kept saying something about some type of face no me and little mama
verbatim he said you're the queen Of the young struggle face But that was
It was supposed to be
Jokes between her and me
Going back and forth
She actually cried
When our former co-host
Angela Yee
Bought up her mother
Who had just passed away
That's what actually
Made her cry
And little mama
Had said that herself
Okay no no
Alright no
You don't think
That the fact
What does struggle face
That young struggle face
Made her cry a little bit
Even after her mom
And looking at the and looking at the
wig that she had on.
You don't think
that you could have chilled
and refrained
from that comment?
I apologize,
little mama,
wherever you are.
If you see this.
Do you even remember?
I don't really.
Okay.
Of course I remember.
People bring it up all the time.
I can't forget it.
I tried to forget it.
I posted it yesterday.
Yes.
See?
Accountability.
You're right.
Thank you.
She deleted the tweet. I apologize. Did y' you no but she had wrote she had sent me like some um universe meditation things and i know she didn't
mean she didn't mean anything wrong she sent you a scripture she was trying to give me some healing
yeah i ain't gonna lie i do need a little bit of healing she wasn't wrong but like you said
the best for me.
It could have been personal.
It could have been personal.
It could have been more personalized.
It could have,
because it was like a little shady.
Like,
look at what they doing to America.
I like to walk like a dog.
You don't even know
what I do to these.
They get more than walk like a dog.
And they fart in they mouth.
Yeah,
like what you say,
you ain't saying nothing about me
farting in these mouth.
Yeah.
Because she probably did that too.
She did it.
You talking about her.
I ain't gonna lie.
Let me clear this up.
I ain't gonna lie.. Let me clear this up. I ain't going to lie.
I feel like me knowing people, I feel like she's a genuine girl.
No, absolutely.
She just had me fucked up that time, and she didn't mean to.
That's fine.
Because if I could request it, I just had her DM me, and we could have talked, chit-chat.
Yeah.
All right, we got more with Sukihana.
When we come back, don't move.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club.
Morning, everybody.
It's D-E-J-N-V, Charlamagne Tha God, Jess Hilarious.
We are The Breakfast Club.
We're still kicking it with Sukihana.
Now, you got three kids, right?
Yeah.
Is that the reason you said, you know what, I'm going to get away from OnlyFans because you have kids, they go to school, and other kids will be like, I know your mama's, you know, Sukihana.
Yeah, no, no, no.
First of all, yeah, they know I'm i'm super with the good coochie because
i pop out them kids my kids know i'm super with the good coochie what the hell no i was gonna say
because in school kids know that because they know i just you guys you gotta have good coochie
let me tell you something i love being pregnant i love having babies and i love raising babies
and i breastfeed all of them. I love
children. I love my children so much
and they're going to have prominent futures
whatever they want to be. Boxers,
they want to be a soccer player. Anything I'm going to do
I'm going to do what I got to do to make them that.
But I feel like
what it take for me to get that coin
to make sure they straight, I'm going to do what I got to do.
Nobody can't judge me.
You ever have to check a mom at school for saying something one of her kids saying something
no my kids don't go to no public schools I pay for teachers I pay for homeschool
yeah I do stuff like that because you know my kids are my kids are special like
I'm not doing that everybody has their own reason what they do but I'm a breastfeeding mom
and I and I and I love my children I have a good support system, a good family.
And, like, I have a career and I take care of my kids very good.
I love them.
Like, I would do anything for them.
Now, as far as my OnlyFans, everybody on Pops and ****.
Yeah.
Do y'all know what y'all moms done did?
Girls, you want to shut up?
Did y'all know what y'all moms done did? Freak Nick.
Freak Nick.
Freak Nick's been telling y'all know what your moms did? Them bills was paid. Freaknik finna tell on y'all.
Our moms had them bills paid
and they ain't never had no good job.
They was wearing chicken cooking dresses around the house.
My mom was way older than Freaknik.
Me and Charlamagne's mom was before Freaknik.
My mom was 1950.
They might have Motown Freaknik or something like that back then.
Freaknik?
Detections Freaknik or something like that.
What's the Martin Luther King, Malcolm What's up? What's up? What's up?
What's up?
Martin Luther King and Malcolm X.
What were they called again?
As in fact.
Jezebel Shindig.
Yeah, Jezebel Shindig.
They was out there
probably like that.
One thing about us,
one thing about us,
we gonna pop some cat.
Cat ain't free.
And when the kids
need some food,
we gonna do
what we gotta do. That's one thing about some food, we gonna do what we gotta do.
That's one thing about black women.
We gonna make something out of nothing.
I don't give a f***.
We got five cents, one dollar.
We gonna make some shake.
So your daughter get older.
She said, Ma, I gotta go pop some coochie for a goon to get this money.
My baby ain't gonna do that.
My baby's rich right now.
Right now, as a little girl,
she don't have to work any day of her life.
She don't have to understand the struggle.
She don't have to understand what the hood is like.
And that's what I did.
My baby won't never have to be in no hood and won't ever have to work for nobody.
I'm going to take care of her for the rest of my life.
And when I die, she's going to be good.
Because that's the type of woman that I am.
Maybe I ain't going to have to pop no cat.
I'm going to pop the cat.
I'm going to pop the cat.
He just curled his edges like three times.
It's like he want her to know.
Okay, I like your baby hairs too.
Get in.
You got a little bit.
I don't care.
It's getting a little too smooth today.
You got the contour popping in.
Oh, you look good.
You've been around for a long time.
Let me stop for your little...
Let me stop for Envy.
Get upset.
Y'all are off the chain.
Speaking of the Gus-bens.
What is the Gus-ben? Girl Gusbans. What if the Gusbans
mean gay husbands?
Oh my gosh.
What did I walk into?
Because I want to ask her,
do you consider yourself gay?
I don't consider.
Bisexual,
whatever.
What is it?
Do I have to have a name?
No, you don't.
I don't want one
because I see in like
the interview that I did
and I was just,
you know,
trying to explain.
He kept asking me
all these different questions.
Jason Lee kept asking me all these different questions yeah shout out to Jason Lee
but he asked me all these different questions about what my sexuality is and I was kind of
talking in circles and I seen the comments and they were like shout out to the people that's
real gay and going through the real things and it was just like hmm you know they're so judgmental
in the comments yeah and that's why a
lot of these men's are dl and that's why a lot of these people don't want to come out the closet
i don't consider myself gay i don't consider myself straight i love people i feel like well
maybe i didn't have a go on a date or be in a relationship you know i haven't did that but
i don't want to just say oh i don't a some coochie and just look at women
That's coochie to eat. I don't want to say that I don't want to say that I think it's wrong
Let's talk about your music. Yeah, you know, I got that single
Casamigo
Well Afro beat and I go like him to New York for a promo run and the city all the DJ DJs, DJ Clue and everybody,
they've been showing me a lot of love and they're telling me that I got a hit.
And I believe in it.
I'm going to tell you something about DJ Clue.
He's a liar.
He said that to everybody.
You's a motherfucking liar.
He does.
You too is a liar.
I promise you.
Yeah, but let me tell you something.
I promise you.
He plays the industry game.
I promise you because I know it ain't a fuck with that.
I got a song called Eatin'.
And Charlamagne, campaign, champagne.
You gon' respect a queen when you see one.
I don't give a f*** if DJ Kool lied.
God tell the truth.
And Casamigo is a motherf***ing hit.
With those eyebrows on fleek.
And Sukiyano, Sukiyano with the good coochie.
On The Breakfast Club. Good. On The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Your mornings will never be the same.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now, if you're just joining us, Charlamagne had a question.
It's not me.
I told you we was in the control room, and I was talking to our team,
and they asked the question, where do all old hoes go?
I think it's on TikTok, right?
It's something happening on TikTok.
This is a question that's being asked.
Where do old hoes go?
Yeah, and I'm realizing that it must be young people asking this question
because there's old folks.
We know where the old hoes go.
You know what?
That could be a good thing because if some of the young hoes want to know
what happened when they become older, they want to know where they should be going well the truth to
the matter is young hoes just grow up to be old hoes and what happens to the old hoes is life
happens they end up having kids you know some of them you know go to college like we act like just
we just the term hoe has such a negative connotation right so when you think oh i don't
know what you think but hoes
are people too okay and they go to college and they get degrees or they go out there and they
get good jobs and they live lives like truth to the matter is and you don't want to hear this
your mama probably was a ho but you ain't never had a conversation with her to see what her sex
life was like you know i mean back in the day i'd be awkward i had a life grandma had a life
you know what i mean and i know we got to be fair and say that men are definitely hoes too, but we know it's a double standard.
So we only talk about, you know, the women right now.
So the reality is hoes are everywhere.
Hoes make the world go around.
There's hoes that are, you know, running Fortune 500 companies.
They're in the C-suites.
You know what I mean?
There's hoes in the church.
You know, there's hoes that, you know, own the local grocery stores like this like what i hate saying the term holes but i would say church right and the reason
being is because when you get a little older you want to kind of repent for all of the wholism that
you did right good or bad yeah you done gave it to everybody so now you want to give it to god
there you go yeah yeah you gave it up to everybody now you got to give it to the lord give it to
that's right lord the only one you ain't gave it up to. Jesus Christ.
Let's go to the phone.
We got Tatiana on the line.
Tatiana, good morning.
Good morning.
How are you, Auntie?
How you doing?
Tatiana.
How old are you, Tatiana?
What's up, Tala Mae?
What's up, Tatiana?
How old are you?
Well, I'm 24.
Okay.
I don't know if you old enough to have this conversation.
Well, in this thing you say, your grandmother's- Listen, my grandmother talks about it all the time oh your grandma was a hoe retired hoe she is still but she plays with her toys now
damn what how old is she yeah she's 53 but she likes the applicants she like them 24 or younger
oh okay so she never stopped home she never stopped she's still out here i bet you she's
young i bet she got a young youthful energy to her too
at 50-something.
She's still
and she's still looking
for anybody that's listening.
By the way,
I want y'all to know
50-something ain't old
but it's coming from
a 45-year-old man.
I said 53, Charlamagne.
53 ain't old.
53 ain't old.
So you're basically saying
53.
So you're trying to say
old hoes don't retire.
They still hoeing.
They still out here, man.
Sleuth to your grandma.
Okay. God bless her. I hope she hoes until't retire. They still hoeing. They still out here, man. Sleuth to your grandma. Okay.
God bless her.
I hope she hoe until she got to take her dentures out to s***.
What?
Hello, who's this?
Thomas from Brooklyn.
Thomas, good morning.
What's up, man?
Where do all the old hoes go, Thomas?
All old hoes go to heaven, man.
They cook clean and they do that thing.
You feel me?
Where does mine?
Listen, here's the other thing.
Thomas, I love the enthusiasm in your voice
because here's the thing that we don't talk about enough we love hoes yep we do we do like you even
you even want the woman you marry you want your lady to have to have some ho in her damn right
damn so they say lady in the lady. But a freak in the bed.
Freak, hoe, whatever you want, darling.
Need a whore in the bed.
A whore.
Jesus Christ.
It's a whore word.
W-H-O-R-E.
All right.
Real asshole.
Word to the city, girl.
All right.
Thank you, brother.
Nicole.
Good morning, gentlemen.
Good morning, Nicole.
Nicole, so the question is, where do the old hoes go?
I need to know how old you are first, Nicole.
I am 40 years old.
Okay, so you're an old hoe.
She ain't got to be an old hoe.
You don't know if she hoeing or not.
Are you old?
Talk to us, Nicole.
I am not an old hoe.
However, I say I'm very experienced.
Okay.
Now, gentlemen, my opinion is that old hoes are male and female.
I think some of them go on to be very successful individuals that influence the world.
That's right.
They could be military commanders.
They can be business owners.
Or they could be radio talk show hosts.
You're absolutely right.
Right, Salome?
That's right.
That's facts.
You're right.
Thank you, Nicole.
Where are you from, Nicole?
Hold on, hold on.
Where are you from, Nicole?
I'm from Harlem, but I live in New Jersey now.
Okay.
We don't know each other, do we?
Uh-oh.
No, but you know, my family is from South Carolina.
Monks Corner, Bono. Uh-oh. Okay, no, but you know, my family is from South Carolina.
Moncks Corner, Bono.
Uh-oh.
Okay, okay, okay. All right.
All right, Nicole.
Thank you, Nicole.
Good talking to you, gentlemen. Have a great day.
Good talking to you, too.
Wait, let me ask you a question.
I just think, like, that little right Charlamagne.
The right Charlamagne, yeah.
You know what I mean?
But, you know, her family from Moncks Corner. What do you mean she's been listening to me for a long time?
Or she knows.
I'm a reform hoe.
Or she knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody.
I'm a reform hoe.
I ain't no thing. You think hoeing is hereditary is hoeing hereditary i think
everybody likes sex you know i'm saying and people it's just everybody likes it who do you know that
doesn't like sex everybody likes sex in some way shape or form asexual though i don't even know
what that is i don't know either but somebody shouted out the back of the class back in the
class i'm listening to these young kids right don't even know what the hell that is
what the hell does that even mean
I don't know
hello who's this
hey this is April
how you doing
April good morning
we're asking
where do the old hoes go
so the old hoes retire
and go back to the
from high school
who always loved them
that's where they go
that's a good point
so after you done ran
after you done ran around
and gave it up to everybody,
you just go back to old faithful from high school, huh?
Pretty much.
Okay.
Thank you, April.
Paula, good morning, Paula.
Paula, you there?
Hey, yes, I am.
Hi.
Hey, good morning.
How old are you, Paula?
Hi.
So the question of the day should be like a family feud question,
but I say they go to church.
How old are you, Paula?
I'm 38.
38?
Okay, so you're getting up there.
Then you don't know she a hoe.
Do you think you a hoe?
I just, no.
Hell no.
I just dropped off all these damn kids at school.
How many kids you got?
I got three girls.
Oh, for real?
How many baby daddy?
Oh, my God.
How many baby daddy?
Two.
Paula?
I got two.
Two. Two. Two. Okay, two baby daddy. All right how many baby two paula i got two two two okay two baby daddy all right how many boyfriends how many what how many boyfriends i got none i'm married i've been
married for 10 years oh okay okay so you married the one of your the one of your uh baby baby
okay good job good job good job did you tell them about your, like, did you show them your whole facts before y'all got married?
Did you show them, like?
No, no.
I was actually the unexpected young mom at 20 out of my friend group. So I was the one that, like, graduated with my V-card.
And all my friends were, like, you know, I guess trying to push me to, like, give love a chance.
Oh.
They were trying to push me to give love a chance because I was too busy out here hoeing.
Hell no.
Thank you, Paula.
Jesus Christ.
When your friends got to push you to give love a chance, you're doing too much out here.
Hello, who's this?
It's me from Detroit.
Me from Detroit.
We're talking about where do the old hoes go?
I'm going to say about 70% of them go to Facebook.
Boy, you ain't lying.
You are not lying.
All old hoes.
Thank you.
At least about 70%.
Because Facebook is the place you go and then you be seeing all of the girls that you knew that used to be hoes.
And you be like, oh, that's what she's doing now.
What's the moral of the story, Jesus Christ?
The moral of the story is City Girls real assholes coming soon.
I can't wait.
They're going to have the world in shambles.
October 20th is the date.
October 20th?
Yeah, that's right.
No!
Yes, why?
That's next week.
Yeah, why?
What happened?
The City Girls coming out next week?
Yes, why?
Man, they about to have the fall in shambles.

Man, come on now.
Come on, JT.
You sound like an old whore right now.
I'm happy.
I'm excited.
You excited he got?
Next week, what?
Let's go.
I hope they got a record with Sexy Ray.
Shout out to Carisha and JT.
All right, they're going to have the conscious community in shambles.
The conscious community is not going to know what to do with
themselves when that real assholes by the city
girls drop. You hear me? Alright. It's the Breakfast
Club. Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Is your country
falling apart? Feeling tired?
Depressed? A little bit revolutionary?
Consider this. Start
your own country. I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.? Consider this. Start your own country.
I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it.
I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
I am the Queen of Laudonia.
I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg.
I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition. Why can't I trade my own country?
My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong?
No country willingly gives up their territory.
I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
Bullets.
We need help!
We need help!
We still have the off-road portion to go.

As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you.
Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her
dreams. I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves,
for self-preservation and protection. it was literally that step by step.
And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.
This increment of small, determined moments.
Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love.
I forgive myself. It's okay. Like grace. Have grace with yourself.
You're trying your best and you're going to figure out
the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys
like you've never heard her before.

I'm Jenny Garth.
29 years ago, Kelly Taylor said these words, I choose me.
She made her choice.
She chose herself.
When it comes to love, choose you first.
Hi, everyone.
I'm Amy Robach.

NIMINI here.
I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called Historical Records.
Historical Records brings history to life through hip hop.
Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history.
Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus
nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing.
Check it.
Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records.
Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise.
Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, Jess Hilarious.
We are The Breakfast Club, and we got a special guest in the building.
That's right.
Cardi B.
Cardi B.
Cardi B is back.
Big body.
Welcome.
Hey, buddy.
How you feeling?
You know how I'm feeling.
Be honest.
Be honest. I'm sad because I really have planned this week out and everything, and all of a
sudden, I wake up like, yes, what the hell going on?
Like, my stomach is killing me.
Like, bubble guts?
Like, bubble guts.
Like, bubble guts.
Nothing want to come out.
Anything.
Like, I'm, like, stressed.
Like, because, like, what time is it?
I hope by at least by 12 o'clock something come out, and I'm like, all right, like, relieved.
So what do you do at noon if you got a poop in you out in public, buddy?
You can't just pull up in a McDonald's or nothing?
Yes, but why wouldn't I?
I stay with wet wipes.
Jesus Christ.
I stay with wet wipes and hand sanitizer.
Like, I'm a mom, so you have to have that. Yes, that's true.
Because your kids want to shit.
Yes.
Anytime.
Right.
Uninspected.
So, and also me. It might not want to show. Yes. Anytime. Right. Uninspected. And also me.
It might not be the food, though, Cardi.
I don't know what it is.
Maybe it could be number three.
It definitely ain't on there.
I'm number three now, man.
It could be number three.
After I go on tour, I definitely want to have a baby.
Have another one?
Yeah, I want to have another one.
How many kids do you want?
Like at least four.
Four?
What do you think will come out first, the s*** or your is gonna come out I have to I have to I have to wait what is the question what
people want this year next year next year next early next year we
congratulate cardio her single she got a single that's out today love it what inspired bongos um well always the beat you know what i'm saying like at first
it's always like you hear the beat and it's like oh i like this beat like i really like this beat
it's funk but it kind of reminds me of dembow definitely dembow it reminds me of dembow but
it's really funk like technically, technically, it's funk.
So... What is Dembow?
You know, the Dominican...
Uptown.
Dominican music.
Oh, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
Like, you know...
I'll take you wherever you want.
You, you be outside.
You be outside.
Not no more.
You see?
You don't be outside.
You don't be outside.
I'll be in the house.
I got to take you outside.
But, so, that's a style of you outside but so that's the style of music
yes it's not a music it's a dominican style of music but like technically really is funk so but
i just i just love i just love the beat i start working on the song but there's like a lot of
empty spaces there's a lot of empty spaces i try to fill the empty spaces like you know like just
me rapping and rapping and rapping and rapping and it just felt like a long ass song like they just needed dynamic so me and my team like my team
wanted to go like more like latin artists and i was like i hear megan yeah i hear megan i hear
megan on it they're like really you don't see like you see this like like more latin i'm like right
no i see megan and then like exactly what i was hearing in my head, I sent her the song.
Exactly what I was envisioning in my head,
when I got her verse back,
it was like, you see?
This is what I was envisioning.
And it just made sense.
Were you scared to team up with Megan again?
Because WAP was such a massive record.
Oh, yeah, of course.
That's why I haven't... Definitely.
But I feel like this was like good.
And, um, like when she sent the, the, the, the, her verse, I was like, oh, I feel like
this is a super, like, I feel like this is a good, like, wow, contender.
You feel like too much pressure.
Everybody asking you to do your second album.
You put out these, these verses and you, and you killing these verses, you lighten these
verses up, but everybody keeps saying
I love it
but where's the album?
I love it but where's the album?
Or you put too much
pressure on yourself?
I do put a lot of
pressure on myself.
Like I really really do.
Like let me tell you something
for like
I just feel like
I don't like nothing.
I hear
I feel like I listen like
40 beats
Is it because everything
sound the same?
I don't know
because everything
sound the same
or every
like it's like
sometimes everything sound the same and then like when it's too different it's like ah that the same or every, like, it's like sometimes everything sounds the same.
And then, like, when it's too different, it's like, ah, that's too different for me.
Like, that is just too different.
So, I don't know what I be looking for.
What I be looking for.
I don't know what it is.
Yeah.
But, like, once, like, something catch my eye and I really, like, no, not my eyes, my sound, my ears.
Right.
But even, like, I like it like that.
They said you didn't love it, love it.
And that became one of the biggest
records ever
yeah I mean
I do take risks
like I do take risks
I don't know
it's just like
a lot of pressure
on the bitch
but I feel
I feel confident
I have a lot of songs
y'all can come by
anytime
I can hear some
cause
and that's another thing too
like I'm a Libra
I be feeling like
I need like
everybody like a opinion
like what you think
what you think
what you think
and that can be
driving me crazy too but like I don't know why I be I be needing it though. So yeah, the fun is it still fun
When I find like something that I like when it's something that I like is fun
Mm-hmm, but then but then sometimes even when I like something and like people don't like it
It doesn't become fun. Like it's like damn. I was really vibing with this and it's like y'all like it now
Now it's like damn i was really vibing with this and it's like y'all like it now now it's not fun now man so but people don't like every it's like they're gonna find something wrong with
whatever so it don't matter but it just gotta make sense to you let me ask you this is it
pressure because it's so many more women now like dropping here and all the time like but
is that pressure it being so many women in rap no not really i'm so used to like working with like
a lot of women like i never like been like in an environment that's like yeah i'm kind of like the
only one so and now i always knew this i always knew this i always knew that after me there was
gonna be more girls yeah i know it was gonna i wasn't gonna i know it wasn't gonna like just end
with me because it's like if i made it i know there's gonna with me because if I made it,
I know there's gonna be more that's gonna make it.
And the internet and everything,
I already saw this.
I saw this back in 2017.
I saw this.
But you're also doing something
that a lot of people didn't do
when you were coming up.
You'll find the hot new person
or a young artist
and you'll give them the opportunity
and give them a verse, which a lot of people didn't do and i was gonna ask something that
jay and drake did great yeah i think i say cardi did that for female right yeah absolutely i was
gonna ask does the competition fuel you and it can be friendly competition i mean every time you get
on the verse so you get on the record with somebody is is that the way you think like oh i
gotta eat her you know i mean um god damn no i don't i don't i
don't really feel like i gotta eat i don't really like feel like i gotta like eat like all right like
for example right like it's like if i have a song right and then like you send me your verse and
like you wrapping your ass off i'm still not changing my verse i'm not changing it because
i feel like they're like this this is what i I'm going for. This is what I'm saying.
However, I don't want to like also never like ruin nobody else like song or anything.
But people do it all the time.
We've heard, you know, I think Nas said he changed the verse when he got a verse back.
And you hear it all the time.
So you never said, nah, I got it.
Which one's your favorite?
What's playing with you?
Who's been your favorite female rapper to collaborate with?
I really like them all.
I really, I really, really like like them all i really i really i really like them all and every song that i like i got like on like i got on it because i just really really really
really like that song like i love the song and it's like i feel like i could hear myself on it
there's a lot of there's a lot of songs like i get songs sent to me all the time but i feel like
it's like some songs i just feel like i feel like i can't do nothing for the song like it's like i don't feel like i could do like a verse that like i'm like confident in so
it's just like and i just be like no and it's like i feel like the song is great so i don't even want
to like yeah like ruin it you just say drill ain't your style what's that a nah what's that one song
and i told you oh my god that song is so Oh, my God. That song is so crazy.
I heard.
Yeah.
That song is so crazy.
I was like, and that's my that's my style.
That's my tempo.
Because some tempos like I just cannot keep up.
Right.
Like it's like, you know, like when I first heard Munch and everything.
Yeah.
I love the song.
I love the beat and everything.
And then I was I was going to I was like, you know, like doing the remix.
And I said, you did a verse, right?
Yeah, I did a verse.
But it's like I feel like I feel like I like doing the remix and everything. They said you did a verse, right? Yeah, I did a verse. But it's like, I felt like I was fighting the beat.
Like, I can't breathe.
I'm well-mended.
Like, the beat was just, the beat just was thin.
I was like, listen, I don't want to f*** the song.
Yeah, because you got to eat on much.
Like, I got to eat.
You got to eat on much.
He's like, Kyle, like, yo, relax.
I get it.
I get it.
But like, I was windmilling.
And it's like, if I can't keep up with something, like, it's like, I'mmilling And it's like If I can't keep up
With something
Like it's like
I'm not gonna play myself
And I don't wanna like
Ruin it
Like you know like
When somebody get on a song
And it's like
She really f***ed the song off
Get that b***h out of here now
Right
I like how you f***ed up
Tomorrow
Killed tomorrow
Yeah
Oh yeah
I love this song
Y'all was two in pocket
It was crazy
Killed tomorrow
And I love Loretta
She remind me of my best friend
Like
Yeah
I love her
I love her Alright we got more with Cardi B When friend. Yeah. I love her. I love her.
All right, we got more with Cardi B.
When we come back, don't move.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, Jess Hilarious.
We are The Breakfast Club.
We're still kicking it with Cardi B.
Charlamagne.
Do you think the label makes you do records that you may not necessarily want to do?
Nobody can make me do shit.
Okay.
People can give me recommendations and everything, but it's like nobody can make me like do anything i will try something like i will try something and
and when i say like i will try something it's like when they want me to like to like you know
be a little bit more like you know like more feminine or more like i don't know like mainstream
type of stuff because like that's just not really be my vibe like that but like nobody can make me
do i was gonna ask you you know you mentioned when you were working in the strip club,
do people look at you as the old Cardi all the time?
Because you got so many friends and you were so many people before the huge rap success.
Sometimes you got to check somebody and be like, look, I'm not that old from back then.
I'm not that same person.
I feel like the people that know me know that I haven't really changed.
I feel like I could call my friends right Know that I haven't really changed Like I feel like
I could call my friends right now
And be like girl bye
I feel like
I haven't like
Really changed like
That way
But I feel like
To the world
I feel like to the world
Like I wonder if people
Have seen that change
I feel like I changed
I'm like more like
Chill now
Like I could
Like back then
I could be all day
Cussing everybody out
But it's like
I just have like
Backed away more
And I got kids And I'm 30 Like I'm 30 like by five o'clock i need a
little nap that's one thing that's one thing i say that it looks like you love it's like you know
you see so many people with with their kids right but you are like a mom's mom right yeah because
like it's like you just have to you listen you can have a village in your house right like it's
i have all the dominicans in my house i got i got them all but it's like you just have to, listen, you can have a village in your house, right? Like, I have all the Dominicans in my house.
I got them all.
But it's like, your kids be wanting you.
They want you.
They don't want your aunt to take them to school.
They don't want nothing.
They want mom and dad to take them to school.
They want to chill with mom and dad.
They want to play with mom and dad.
So it's just like, you have to do it yourself.
And then, like, you just have to do it.
Like, you got to get used to a rhythm. like it's like my family a lot of them live
with me but they love to be outside so when they do vacation everything and it's like i'm by myself
with the kids that it's like damn i don't really know like what they're gonna want to eat and
everything so i gotta i gotta get used to that like and i really just naturally like it like i
like this if if I could just do this
all forever, I would,
but I got a bit of work.
You think that's the biggest change
that has happened in your life
over the last five years,
the kids?
Hell yeah.
Okay.
Hell yeah.
Just motherhood, period.
Yeah, because it's like,
I be feeling like,
like I got a lot to lose.
Before, like,
f*** you,
I'm diving in.
I lose everything.
I lose it all,
but I'm going to curse you out.
How is it being a boss
With everybody
But then when your kids
They boss you around
I seen some video
And your kids was talking to you crazy
There's nothing you can do
When your kids talk to you crazy
You just got to take it
I know
Man
You believe in pop popping the kids
Huh
Or no
You believe in
Physical discipline for your kids
Like though
Like
Real like
Like you know what I'm saying
But like not like
Gentle parenting sometimes Gentle parenting I mean I mean it depends Because I feel like light though light real light like you know what I'm saying but like not like gentle parenting
sometimes
gentle parenting
I mean it depends
because I feel like
I feel like I'm a
gentle parent
but then there's that
you know the
Hellman's
gentle parent
Hellman's
gentle parent
and they like
they overboard
like
gentle parenting
I just believe
they're like
you don't have to be
like abusive
or anything
but it's like
You gotta like be assertive
Because like
Like not everybody kid
Is like everybody kid
Like my son bad as f**k
I got proof
He bad
I got proof
I got proof he bad
How old is he?
He just turned two
Yeah he don't know no better
What?
I show you videos
He bad as hell
He bad
Even all of a sudden
Be like damn
All my kids Yeah And I knew it too That's why I. Even all of a sudden, I'd be like, damn, are all my kids?
Yeah.
And I knew it, too.
That's why I was scared to have a boy, because I was like, I knew it, too.
I knew it, too.
It could be terrible, too, though.
Yeah.
He was one.
He just turned two.
How you bad at one?
So what do you do to discipline him?
Like, what is he afraid of?
He's not afraid of nothing.
Damn.
That's the problem.
And then you can take from him or take his tablet or something.
Nothing?
No, he don't care about nothing.
Like, even if you take it, it's like, all right, I'm going to mess with you today then.
Damn.
Why do you let the comments get to you so much, Barney?
Just on social media and just, like, everything.
I don't know, because it's like, I know you're not f***ing talking.
That's the thing, that if this s*** is going to get me mad, it's like, why are you talking, though?
Why are you talking? Yeah like why are you talking though and what are you why are you talking yeah why are you talking like it's like when i was like
like in school or everything like i used to cut ass like i used to fight no no no like i used to
like really rose rose like i like like it's like it's not even like roasting because it was like
i could go toe-to-toe with like dudes and stuff like it was just like so it's like me like i'm
the type of person that is that i could like take one look at you and it's like i could i got like 10 jokes
lined up so it's just like when people mess with me it's like yo i could really really mess with
you want to mess my day up i will mess your full three weeks up i will i will i will stay in better
than your head so it's just like but it's like the fact that i have to restrain myself it frustrates
me so when you put out projects right right, when you put out music,
do you go through the comments to see what people are saying?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because sometimes, well, you got to also know what people like, though.
But they're never going to give you a real critique, though,
because they're just mad that you bawdy and you're super successful.
So how many people are going to really be like, oh, I f***ed this record?
How many people are going to really give it up on social media?
You know what? I be feeling,
I be feeling
like a lot of people
hate to admit
that they like me.
Like, a lot of people
are afraid to say
that they like me
because when people
say that they like me,
they get attacked.
Yeah.
They be getting attacked
when they say
that they like me
or they take my side
or anything.
So I have to accept that.
That people like me
and there's even people
that like i've seen common nasty about me and like uh some of my friends have pressed them about them
like like when they say like why why you be going so hard on my girl and it's like i don't know i
really do like her though like like like i i just feel like i hate that and it's like i hate that
why do you have to go that route for it yeah really like like matter of fact i'm gonna give
you i'm gonna give you i'm to give you an example, right?
This a bitch, right?
I don't even know her, but one of my friends know her.
And it's like, yo, why this girl got so much issues with you?
And I'm like, I don't even know this girl.
We're not even from the same city.
She got so much to say about me, but she always copying my birthday looks.
She got money to do that?
For real?
Oh, so it must be somebody we know.
I mean, she does the she version, but it's like...
The she version.
How you don't like me?
You like me.
It's the haters are confused admirers.
Yeah.
That's all.
I just don't want that to affect you and your art.
You know what I mean?
Or your mental.
I feel like I'm already getting over that hurdle.
As long as people don't lie to me, it's okay.
But I do notice too
because I've seen people
admitting. I've seen
trolls admit that they
like to throw people into suicide.
I've seen
it on Twitter.
My fans know what I'm talking about.
I've seen trolls
admit that like,
it's like, yeah, we gonna get that
until she wanna kill herself.
They really do that.
So now Dwayne gonna get that power over me.
You gonna have to die first.
You die first, hoe.
Jesus.
How miserable you gotta be to think like that?
There's a lot of miserable people out there.
Oh, that mercy.
Now, do you regret throwing that microphone
at that young lady?
It was really like a quick reaction.
It was really like, and let me tell you, I didn't want to address it because I thought
we were going to jail.
But I'm not.
I didn't really.
Not because people was making their own shit.
Let me tell you something, right?
It was higher than a month.
So there was a part of the show that I told people like, you know, splash me.
But even when I told them splash me, I was like, be careful with the faces.
The faces beep.
So four songs after, nobody had splashed me.
I told y'all to splash me for one little second.
Four songs after, which is like, I don't know, 15, 20 minutes after,
this bitch threw water and ice on my face.
So I just automatically reacted.
I didn't even know that I was throwing it.
I just threw the shit because it's like, you hit me right in my face.
And when I look at the video, it's like, nah, you intended to throw that shit in my face and and and when I look at the video is that now
You intent you intended to throw that shit in my face cuz you ain't did it like this
You do it like it was like and the hot ice and everybody's like oh
No, you throw some ice in your face and you won't tell me how the fuck you feel because I felt very violated
Yeah, did you forget you had told people to splash you? No, but it was
It was in a segment, though.
It was in one segment.
Like, girl, you did that shit like 20 minutes later.
And not only that, you threw me ice.
If it wasn't ice in it, it would have went different.
It probably wouldn't even be different because you splashed me in my face.
Like, you know what you was doing?
How 10 people splashed me at the same time and nothing hit my face?
But you hit my face. But you,
you hit my face
directly.
One of them.
I bet you were
the fan though.
No, no.
You wasn't.
No, you was trying
to be funny,
but I'm hilarious though.
All right,
well don't move.
We got more with
Cardi B.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Is your country
falling apart?
Feeling tired?
Depressed?
A little bit revolutionary?
Consider this.

As a kid,
I really do remember having these dreams and visions, but you just don't know what is going to come for you.
Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt, learning to trust herself and leaning into her dreams.
I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves. For self-preservation and protection, it was
literally that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.
This increment of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude,
and the power of love. I forgive myself. It's okay.

Good morning.
Morning, everybody. It's DJ
Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, Jess
Hilarious. We are The Breakfast Club. We're still
kicking it with Cardi B. Well, first of all, how is marriage?
Y'all love marriage. Is it
difficult because, you know, he's a celebrity
and you're a celebrity, and it's like, when he defends you, it's bigger because he is a celebrity and you're a celebrity and it's like
when he defends you it's bigger because he is a celebrity so if somebody says something
and he defends you it's bigger because it's set you know i mean does that bother you does that
take a toll on your marriage relationship you know what takes a toll on me what takes a toll on me
a lot of people don't like me so when people attack him because he's like attached to me i
don't like that like it's just like but um other than that like i love being married and like we
we are a partnership like you know y'all you know what it is like to be married and of course it's
just like it it feels different like it just it feels different than like a relationship it just
really feel like a union yeah it's like i got, I got your back. You got my back.
No matter what.
Do y'all feel like y'all share too much of social media?
It was just one time.
It was just one time.
That was crazy.
That was crazy.
It was just one time.
Because my f*** was gone.
We was drunk, popping s***.
Ah, you want to do that?
Ah, do that.
Oh, no.
I'm going to beat you to it.
Oh, she really dipping me to it.
Now you're stupid, b***h.
Now I'm going to really violate you.
So hold on.
He said that to you?
He's on nine.
Tell people you cheated on me.
You cheated on me.
And then you explained it.
Cardi goes, how could I cheat?
I can never go anywhere with anybody.
Y'all explained it.
And then the next day, y'all in Paris holding hands at a fashion show.
I'm like, this is the Bronx.
This is the Bronx, love.
We ghetto.
We really, really ghetto.
I ain't going far. Everybody just be like, oh, we be trying to be perfect. I ain't Bronx love. We ghetto. We really, really ghetto. I ain't going far.
Like, everybody just be like, oh, like, if we be trying to be perfect, I ain't going
far.
Like, we ghetto.
Hmm.
What?
You always want to be married young?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I always wanted, I always wanted to be married.
Like, I always wanted to be married.
Who?
I always felt like everybody, everybody wanted, like, the marriage and the kids and everything.
I just really can't believe I got it.
Yeah.
I feel, I feel like they're the number for Cardi.
If Cardi get a certain amount of money, she walking away from all this.
No.
You don't think so?
From music?
Okay.
No, no.
I feel like music is just the engine.
I just love it.
I feel like I enjoy doing music.
I enjoy performing for real.
I love to perform.
I'm a music stripper.
I just love to be out there.
I get a rush.
And it's like you can't perform if you don't really have music.
So I have to always do music.
I love doing music.
It's just sometimes, it's just like, this feels like a job now.
So it's just like, and so much pressure just drive you crazy.
I just want to be in that state where I was like in 2016, 2017, 2018.
It was just like, ah.
Yeah, excitement.
What made you walk away from that movie
that you were supposed to star in?
The music, the album, the biz, the that.
Yeah.
Like, doing, like, movies and everything.
Yeah.
It's really, like, a 10 a.m. to, like, 1 a.m.?
Yep.
Oh, my God.
So it's, like, it's really like a job.
Like, a job, job, job.
Like, when I do music and, like, when I perform, like, it's like, job. Like, like, like when I do music and like when I perform, like it's like a rush, like
it's like a fun rush.
Like, this is really like, I know it's intense.
Hurry up and wait.
That's what they say.
Hurry up and wait.
But it's all worth it when the film come out and you see, you know, you see yourself.
It is.
You know, like I was like, you know, taking acting lessons and everything.
Like, it's like I had one struggle.
It was to cry.
Like, my teacher was like, think of the time, like, that you went through this, this, and that.
I'm like, I don't feel nothing.
When's the last time you cried for real?
Yeah, real life.
I mean, I be crying.
You know what I'm saying?
I be crying.
But it's just like.
Like, on the spot.
Like, on the spot.
Like, it's like, like, on the spot.
Like, I'm going to laugh.
Yeah, yeah. So, you're not going to do it? You're not on the spot. Like I'm going to laugh. Yeah, yeah.
So you're not going to do it?
You're not going to do that movie at all?
I am going to do it.
As soon as I go touring and everything and all that stuff, I got to do it.
Oh, Lord.
Four years from now.
No, I swear to God, it's not going to be four years.
It's been five since Invasion of the Proud.
I know.
She said next year.
I have no choice.
I have no choice.
I like it, though.
I don't think you should rush to put out another album.
Do you have the name for the album yet? No. Kind of, sort of. Yeah. Kind of, sort of. I don't think you should rush to put out another album. Do you have the name for the album yet?
No.
Kind of, sort of.
Yeah.
Kind of, sort of.
I don't know.
I don't know if I like it too much.
What is it?
Yeah, tell us.
I can't tell you because imagine if I pick it.
She's such a critic.
If I pick it.
Throw it out there.
Oh, no, you can't.
You can't just throw it out there.
Let me see if we like it.
Throw it out there.
We'll bleep it.
We'll bleep it.
All right.
We'll bleep it.
No, I can't say it. I was going to say don't believe it. I said don't believe it. I'm calling. No it out there. We'll bleep it. We'll bleep it. All right. We'll bleep it. No, I can't say it.
I was going to say don't believe it.
I said don't believe it.
I'm calling.
You know, I was going to ask, you know, we've seen Offset and Quavo come back together on
BET.
Beautiful moment.
Before that, we've seen a video of them arguing.
You was in the middle saying, y'all brothers, y'all brothers, I need to stop.
How difficult was that in the household trying to get them to understand that they're brothers how difficult that was that for your household and for you i just i just really like
to stay away from like you know what i'm saying like especially when like um y'all have like
like really really long history not just music history like y'all y'all know each other like
your whole life so it's just like i always just like to like step back i always want like unity always always always all the time so i just didn't i
ain't really wanting to say that i'm really like amigos fan like i'm really a amigos fan i'm like
a fan of them for reals you know like when like when people like like people inspire you but like
in 2017 when i started like, you know,
around with offset and everything,
they really like inspire me more because there was like things that I've
never seen.
Like,
I felt like I was like,
like when I was like in 2017,
I just felt like,
it's like,
damn,
a lot of people have turned me down.
Labels have like shut my down,
but it's like,
it's cool.
Like the music that I'm doing is I'm doing all right.
I'm getting paid $20,000 to, to perform.000 to perform like I'm doing this when I started dating offset
And I see that they're like performing in arenas, and I'm seeing that they're getting hundreds of thousand dollars
And they buying jury every day, and it's like no I was trying like to be like
So they like inspire me and like a lot of
these swag like inspire me too so i'm just like a fan of of of all of it so i always
feel like as a woman you need to stay out of like man business all the time i just stay
away from me you didn't stay out of it that night though practically i did when you was
telling them y'all brothers y'all brothers I was like no I just oh my god
yeah
long time
were they actually tussling
or was it just like some words
yeah they were just
just talking
just talking
yeah
how did you help
Offset
through the grieving process
are you still helping him
through it
it's hard
yeah
I don't even want to talk about it
I can understand
I get it
I get it
I totally get it
what's next for Miss Barty everything I'm back I'm back to work Yeah. I don't even want to talk about it. I can understand. I get it. I get it. I get it. I totally get it.
What's next for Miss Body?
Everything.
I'm back to work.
We don't believe you.
I swear to God. You done had so many big records that hit number one that we thought this album was coming.
Yeah, but oh my gosh.
We went through a whole pandemic.
Give me a break.
You dropped the number one record during the pandemic.
Easily.
And you had mad time during the pandemic.
I was raised to f***ing do this s***. You had time. number one record during the pandemic easily and you had bad time during the pandemic i really didn't want to drop an album around the pandemic because i really wanted a tour right
after okay i wasn't able to tour right after um my first album like i i couldn't even do a lot
of music videos because i was like pregnant and everything like i want to like drop my album and
be able to go touring right away. So that was that.
Then I had a baby.
Then I was just going through.
I was just chilling.
But now it's just like, I'm back outside.
And you got an album dropping next year.
Yeah.
What quarter, Barty?
What quarter?
What season?
I'm really looking for first quarter.
Spring, summer.
Are you there? Are you close? Hey, yo, looking for first quarter. Spring, summer. Are you there?
Are you close?
Hey, yo, shut up.
It's spring, summer.
You don't have to drop a second album, though.
You don't have to put out an album.
But I have it.
She do, though.
I have it.
She do.
I have it.
I have it.
You don't believe her?
I believe she got a song.
I believe she got a bunch of songs.
No, but I have it, though.
I have it.
You have the album?
Yeah, I have my vision and everything. You know you wanted i want i know what i want everything okay

It's The Breakfast Club.
It's Cardi B.
The Breakfast Club.
Your mornings will never be the same
it's time for donkey of the day so if you ever feel i need to be a donkey man
hit me with the heel did she get donkey today please absolutely i have become donkey of the
day the breakfast club bitch You're a donkey.
Yes, Donkey of the Day goes to a Lancaster County, Pennsylvania woman named Linda Johnson.
Linda Johnson is a former general manager at the greatest fast food restaurant in regards to providing comfort,
and that is Wendy's, okay?
Wendy's is the greatest of all time when it comes to providing comfort.
I'm not here to argue with y'all about none of this.
McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, all those places are cool cool but when it comes to providing fantastic comfort food nothing is better than
wendy's okay this is not a commercial i'm not being paid to say this i just have very fond
memories of wendy's because when i used to drive my grandma into town back in the day
in monks corner south carolina that's what she used to like to do stop at wendy's and she wanted
her fries and she wanted them hot okay and w Wendy's to this day still provides me that sense of comfort now Linda is facing a felony charge of theft by deception
oh she is the number one scammer okay I can't lie to y'all I love hearing about a creative scam
there is a reason they call people scam artists because a scam artist knows how to paint a pretty
picture they have to be creative artists in order to get you to do what it is they want you to do
and Linda has painted a pretty picture she actually have to be creative artists in order to get you to do what it is they want you to do. And Linda has painted a pretty picture.
She actually did.
One of the most creative scams I've seen in a long time.
Would you like to know what Linda has done?
Let's go to ABC News for the report, please.
Former general manager out of Wendy's in Leicester County
was found stealing from the store, according to an audit.
Linda Johnson allegedly checked in and out
as a fake employee for over a year from July 2021 to April 2022.
Officials say that the theft amounted to almost $20,000.
Documents from the investigation say that Johnson admitted to creating the fake employee and that the paychecks went to her cash out.
Linda Johnson created a fake employee, clocked in and out as a ghost employee and had the paychecks go to her cash app. Linda Johnson created a fake employee,
clocked in and out as a ghost employee,
and had the paychecks go to her bank account,
and that's why she's getting donkier the day to day.
Why would you have these checks go to your account?
You don't have a cousin,
a friend, you couldn't open up an LLC.
I'm not encouraging you to do the crime at all,
but if you're going to do the crime, I mean, damn.
If you're going to scam, the key to scamming
is not getting caught, okay? The key to scamming is to not have a paper or digital trail that leads
right to you now let me tell you my favorite part of this story okay i was reading this uh when other
managers were questioned about the worker okay the ghost worker Police said some could not remember working with them.
While one manager reported that they met him once.
Can we stop right here and play a game of guess what race it is? Now, we're not playing a game against what race it is for Linda Johnson.
OK, I don't care what race she is. I don't even know what race she is.
But I want to know what race do y'all think this person was who just lied about meeting an employee who never existed he said he met him one time let me repeat
the story linda johnson general manager on wendy's created a ghost employee an employee that never
existed she got about 20 grand sent to her bank account when other managers were questioned about
the fake worker they said they could not remember working with them while one manager just one
volunteered a lie and reported that they met this person that didn't exist once willie d guess what
race it is oh man that's hard oh that sounds like a
it could be anybody but uh could be anybody, but it could be any race, but...
Just say it, Willie.
I know it's on the tip of your tongue.
I know you don't want to do it, but just say it.
Man, you know, I'm just going to say white just because I blame everything.
I'm just kidding.
Envy.
Linda Johnson created a fake worker at Wendy's and collected 20 grand.
When other managers were questioned about the fake worker at wendy's and collected 20 grand when other managers
were questioned about the fake worker they said they could not remember working with them while
one volunteer lied and reported that they met this person that didn't exist once envy guess what race
it is i know you want to say what willie wanted to say but what's the name willie didn't want to
say it we don't know the name of the person oh say it asian no it's the it's the it's the name? Willie didn't want to say it. What's the name? We don't know the name of the person. Say it. Asian.
No, it's the black man looking out for the black sister.
You know what I'm saying?
See?
Yeah.
See?
I get why Willie feel that way, though.
Because when you think about all the times white people have made up mysterious black figures to pin crimes on, okay?
And then like the Carly Russell line about seeing that baby on the side of the highway.
You know, I can understand why we would even think it was black.
I don't know what race this person is, but I feel like this was one of us.
OK, because we why do we like to lie for no damn reason at all?
We tell each other we five minutes away and we haven't even gotten in the shower yet.
We pick up the phone and tell each other we're going to call you right back.
Knowing damn well you're not going to call back until you remember a week later facts we tell each other
hey man we need to connect let's go do lunch or something knowing damn well we have no plans to
do none of that why do you know i do this to people on purpose i do this in conversation
sometimes i just be talking right i just want to see how full of caca somebody is right so i'll be
i'll be talking i'll be like you know ricky right knowing damn well ricky don't exist and we'd be quick to be like yeah yeah yeah i know ricky i know ricky i was
just with him last week you don't know goddamn ricky you know damn well you never met this
person once because this person doesn't exist but for whatever reason you just decided to tell the
powers that be at wendy's you met this person once you putting yourself into a situation making
yourself a witness to something that linda already admitted
the police she did she said during a video call in april that she created the employee and had
the paycheck set up to go to her cash app account if it was me not only would i fire linda i would
fire this co-worker who decided to lie for no damn reason you're not welcome here you can't be trusted
because i was always taught if you lie you will steal and the
fine folks at wendy's ain't got no time for no more thieves please give linda johnson the sweet
sounds and the hammer tones oh now you are the donkey of the day you are the donkey of the day. Yee-haw!
Yee-haw!
We really like the live from the recent...
It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Is your country falling apart?
Feeling tired? Depressed?
A little bit revolutionary?
Consider this. Start your own country.
I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it.
I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
I am the Queen of Laudonia.
I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg.
I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Why can't I create my own country?
My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong? No country
willingly gives up their territory.
I was making a rocket with a
black powder, you know, with explosive
warheads.

You're trying your best and you're going to figure out the rhythm of this thing. Alicia Keys, like you've never heard her before.

She chose herself.

This is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on
with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records.

Nimany, to tell you all about it.

Hey, y'all.
Niminy here.
I'm the host of a brand new history podcast
for kids and families called Historical Records.
Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop.
Flash, slam, another one gone.
Bash, bam, another one gone.
The crack of the bat and another one gone.
The tip of the cap, there's another one gone. Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history.
Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing.
Check it. And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before Rosa, it was called a moment.
Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records.
Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise.

Yeah, yeah, for sure.
So, Desi, how did you get into doing these skits and stuff, man?
Break it down.
How'd you get into doing this?
Man, I've been doing this since 2012.
I started on Vine.
I'm one of the original guys in the beginning.
You know, you don't have a lot of guys on here.
That's right.
That I didn't, you know, I was a part of that world in the beginning.
But one of the ones that I can say still doing it.
You know, taking it to new levels.
You know what I'm saying? As far as acting. as far as doing stand-up and things like that but yeah 2012 was when it actually started for me what gave you the idea to start that was just hey i'm
you know being funny was a part of me i you know but i first played sports back in the day so i
didn't know that i was gonna be doing something like this you know i received a cornerback yeah
receiver yeah i played college football as well.
But, you know, growing up as a kid, man, you know,
my friends would always tell me, man, you funny.
You know, I was a funny guy on the team.
You know what I'm saying?
I was inspired by the people like Eddie Murphy,
my alums, watching those people growing up as a kid.
You know, one of the most humorous in high school,
stuff like that, man.
Who?
Most humorous.
He was funny.
That means he was funny in high school.
Oh, he won most humorous.
Come on, man.
You're the smart guy, man.
You were talking so fast. Okay, yo, most humorous. Yo, most humorous. Okay. Most high school. Oh, he won those humor. Come on, man, you be the smart guy, man. You were talking so fast.
Okay, yo, most humorous.
Yo, most humorous.
Okay.
Most humorous.
Yeah, humorous, yeah.
Humorous.
But yeah, I had a friend who introduced me to Vine, man.
You know what I'm saying?
He was like, bro, I think you should do this.
I didn't know what it was at the time.
Six second clip videos, you know what I'm saying?
It was so crazy, I got on there.
My first video I ever did went viral, you know what I'm saying?
What was it? Atlanta Talk video. Okay. You know, how Atlanta folks was so crazy. I got on there my first video ever did went by you know I'm saying it was
My line of talk video. Okay. You know how Atlanta folks give me direction I can't remember what I see is the way you was describing it
I just don't say make a left make a right turn you know since I don't get an duty
Don't turn right now now. I saw that and what's lying like?
Right on but it was
Man, but it but it was dope.
But I've been doing it
for some time, though, man.
And I'm just very,
you know,
happy of myself
that I'm one of the ones
that, you know,
it's only a few of us,
like I said,
that kept it going.
That kept it going.
Who, you, King Bach?
Bach, DC.
DC?
DC was on Vine, too?
Yeah, he was on Vine.
Okay.
Cornell, Cornell.
Hi-Hi Davis was there
at the time.
Yeah, Hi was there. Cornell. You don't like Cornell? Hell, okay. Cornell, Cornell. Hi-Hi Davis was there at the time. Yeah, Hi-Hi was there.
Cornell, yeah.
You don't like Cornell?
Hell, right.
The light-skinned Cornell.
Yeah.
I don't remember you.
I don't remember you on Vine.
I ain't gonna sound like nothing.
He's dope.
He's dope.
I think Cornell is really, really good.
He's very creative.
Because he light-skinned?
No, no, no, no, no, no.
I didn't know he was on Vine.
I don't remember him being on Vine.
I can't think. I can't think. I can't think. Yeah. I didn't know he was on Vine. I don't remember him being on Vine. I can't think.
I can't think.
I can't think.
Yeah, I can't think.
Nelly Biz.
Oh, okay.
That's who you're talking about?
No.
I don't know why Desi got a problem with you, Cornell.
I don't have a problem with Cornell.
What camera am I looking at?
Cornell, brother, I don't have no problem with you.
I think you're dope.
I think you're amazing, brother.
Keep doing your thing.
He said he just don't remember Cornell being on Vine. I don't. That's what he said.
But I know I remember him on Instagram.
Damn, that's my son. He said Cornell wasn't memorable.

Nah, you're big hating on Cornelius.
Nah.
Oh my Jesus,
is this what y'all do up here?
Yeah.
How difficult was it to turn those sketches
into like live,
you know,
shows and performances
and build out an actual show?
How difficult was that?
Well, I think it's different
from skits to stand up.
That's what you said, man.
Skits is, you know,
when you go on that stage, man, you can't say, all right, let me do the joke again.
You know, it's a different type of preparation.
You know what I'm saying?
You got to actually put in the work.
You know what I'm saying?
When it comes to working on the joke, you got to ref it.
You got to do open mics.
You know what I'm saying?
You got to put the miles in on stage.
And you got to study for it.
You got to be a student of the game when it comes to that stuff, man.
You know, it's totally different, I would say.
You know what I'm saying?
Where do you do open mics?
Do you do, because with your big platform, people like us, we can't just go and,
well, we can, but it's harder for us to go in, like,
little hole-in-the-wall clubs or here, there,
and do open mics, practice our jokes.
Yeah, when I first started in the beginning, I was doing it in Atlanta.
But now, the majority of my stuff, when I'm working on new jokes,
I'm thankful that I got weekends at shows.
Nice.
You know what I'm saying?
So I work out a lot of my material and my shows and my material continue to build
and build and build you know every weekend every weekend my goal is to do a
new joke every show you remember your best show in your worship what was your
worst show what was your best show my worst show was probably in a Bahamas it
was one of the terrible shows I ever did in my life booed Oh Jesus Christ oh
that's a flex oh yeah yeah that was like in the beginning shows I ever did in my life. You got booed? Big flex though, that's a flex. Booed, yeah, that was like in the beginning though.
I would say I was just very scripted, and people knew it.
You was what?
Scripted.
Okay.
Like you could tell I was like trying to remember.
Thank you too much.
You know what I'm saying?
You know why I like bombing?
Because I like to see how people handle that on stage.
I think stand-up comedy is the toughest thing
you could ever do on a stage.
It was terrible, man.
I like to see how people handle it.
It was terrible. They boo I like to see how people handle it. It was terrible.
They booed you like bad, man?
It was bad.
Once you see people walking out, then...
Walking out on you?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
Walking out and, you know, as you see that, your mouth get dry.
Yeah.
And your body get the squeezing in.
Oh, we see.
And, you know...
That's when you're good.
And after the show, you know, you have that person come up to you and tap you on the shoulder.
It's like...
And they be like, hey, man, hey, brother, you know.
When's time you lose?
You know, it's going to be okay.
You know, you just keep going.
You're going to be just fine.
Every day the sun don't shine, that's what's wrong.
If you don't want to do it, that's fine, too.
So how did you get on stage?
Did you just say, that's my time, and walk out, and you finish your set?
I finished it.
I stayed down, and I said, you know, and I was thinking to myself,
I did think like,
damn,
is this shit really for me?
You know what I'm saying?
But, you know,
I end up saying,
no,
hey man,
this was a time
where I had to figure out
what it was.
You know what I'm saying?
Why wasn't they laughing?
You know?
And I know why.
I know what messed me up
in the beginning.
Real talk.
Like,
I was in the Bahamas
and I said something
that I should never say
I learned that I can't
you can't never talk bad
about a place
oh my Jesus
what'd you say
I said when I landed
I said like
if you ever go to the Bahamas
I don't even know
if I should say this
on here
because I feel like
they might attack me again
but
I said like
when I was landing
like I saw like
I saw like trees
like I saw a lot of trees
I saw grass I seen like it's like it's a i saw like trees like i saw a lot of trees i saw grass i seen like
it's like it's a safari like a little bit and i should have never said that i said that in like
the show i said in the beginning too and everybody was looking at me like i was like oh yeah i don't
think it's what you said i'm just saying is that supposed to be a joke like what yeah i thought you
know i was being truthful to what I thought something was.
And that was not a good idea.
Yeah.
And right then, I probably got some little chuckles,
but them chuckles just went lower and lower.
Yeah, it was over with.
In my opinion, I still think... I learned from it, though.
Yeah, with that being in 2018, though,
that's now we're 2023.
That's five years ago still.
That was in the very beginning.
And for you to even be booked in the Bahamas
that says a lot
you know what I'm saying
yeah yeah yeah
so I think
he said I don't give a
still
but no I think that's good
would you go back there
and do another show
I would
I most definitely would
and I love the Bahamas
yeah
so people
you love the trees
and the safari
you love where Duval from
go with Duval
okay I will
I will go out there
and do a show again
I love y'all out there
and I promise you
I will lift you you guys place up you got a beautiful place the food is go out there and do a show again. I love y'all out there. And I promise you, I will lift you guys' place up.
You got a beautiful place.
The food is amazing out there.
Tell me about the best show now
because what was the best show?
I ain't gonna lie, man.
For me,
man,
I just did,
I just did my hometown,
Atlanta.
I just did two sold-out shows
at the Tabernacle, man.
That's good.
But to go back home,
I've done it before,
but my growth
of what it was
from when I did it
two years ago
it's like
grown man
and like
you know to see the people there
and get to stand and know
and stuff like that
from you know
your hometown
that was like
a shock to me
like you know
okay
now I'm doing it now
you know what I'm saying
and of course
I'm still on the ground
but you know
I'm doing it
alright we got more
with Desi Banks
when we come back
don't move
it's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Good morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy Charlemagne.
The guy, Jess Hilarious.
We're still kicking it with Desi Banks.
Charlemagne?
When did you start making money?
That's what I always wonder about the guys and girls that be on Vine.
Charlemagne a bird.
That is crazy.
Like, how the hell?
Everything is about the money.
That's what people think.
People think that because you're getting all these views, you're making money.
But that don't always translate to money.
So when did you start making money?
I started making money on YouTube.
That was back in like 2017, 2018.
Like $900 a month type, you know.
Yeah.
$1,700, stuff like that.
See, now you're being real.
And I was happy.
I like people like this.
Everybody be like, I make $10 million a month.
No, no, no.
I was making that at the time.
But I was just happy to get my own apartment and, you know, be able to get my haircut and pay my cell phone bill.
Right.
And, you know, do these videos.
You know what I'm saying?
That was my thing back then.
I wasn't worried about nothing else.
You know what I'm saying?
I knew everything was going to come as I, you know what I'm saying, continued to put in the work.
But, you know.
What got you to the stage?
Like, what made you say, you know what, I'm going to go do stand-up?
Because you don't necessarily have to go do stand-up.
Yeah, I went through something, man.
And, you know, like I said, I was a student of the game.
And I felt like if I wanted to be respected and I wanted to take things to another level
as far as being in movies and stuff like that, I had to do what the OGs did, the ones that
they laid the blueprint out for us.
Who told you that?
Somebody told you that.
No, no.
Like I said, nobody told me that.
Okay.
Yeah, like I said, I was a real student of it.
You know what I'm saying?
I watched people like Eddie Murphy, Martin.
It was my main two growing up as a kid.
When I really started taking this years after football, I saw what they did.
They could get into no big movies.
You had to do the stand-up.
Every big comedian that you see in this world that's been in a movie, they've done stand-up.
So I knew I had to do that.
But like I said, I had a story, man. I was put out.
My ex ex put me out of the apartment because I wasn't making enough money.
Damn.
And that's when I knew then I had to figure out how the hell I'm going to get some money.
How'd she tell you that?
Oh, he. I don't know. Well, no, you know, it was just a point. I felt well now you know it was just I felt like you know at the time I felt like he's right cuz you can't assume I don't want to say yeah I
just feel like at the time she didn't believe in what I wanted to do she
wanted me to get a job you know I'm saying I didn't make enough income and
at the time I working at like smoothie King so the money that I was getting I
can say I was just paying to either get me a haircut pay my cell phone bill and everything else I was just giving her.
Do you flex on and out? Do you make sure that she finds you on social media?
No, I don't flex. I don't flex on. She probably happy for me. I would hope so. You know what
I'm saying?
Can't spend a block?
Nah. No, I don't think so.
In a relationship now?
Huh?
That's crazy. You don't know more with that answer a relationship now? Huh? That's crazy.
You don't know more with that answer.
Let me finish my story.
You sweating right now.
You sweating.
God damn.
You sweating.
Go ahead.
You sweating right now.
God damn.
Jess, who sent you?
What happened?
I didn't know.
Nobody.
I didn't even know.
Come on, man.
You know my situation.
I'm sorry.
No, I don't.
You follow me.
You start playing.
You know what's going on.
Don't do that.
We don't know. We don't know what's going on don't do that we don't

a family okay that's what i thought i wanted you to say it so you have a family how many kids you
got i got one one yeah that's her the one you feed an ice cream to right there no
oh shoot the headline is when she catch you cheating on another level.
Yeah.
That's when she caught me with the drone.
Got you.
Whoa.
That was real.
Huh?
That was real?
Damn.
Desi's like, I'm not coming back here.
You got caught cheating with a drone?
Is that her?
That you laid up on the couch with?
Nah, man.
You sure?
No.
Those are his skits, yo.
Those are my skits.
He's not going to put nothing about that
on his page.
So why are you telling us
to go to his Instagram?
I didn't say go to my Instagram.
I said you posted Ben Cena.
He said I posted no.
She knew that.
Because I know he has a family.
Yeah, she knew that.
Oh, got you, got you, got you.
I just wanted to see
if you was going to say yeah
because you know I'm going
to be admitting
that they have families.
I got a family.
Yeah, okay.
Okay.
I love that.
Well, thank you.
Yes.
Yes.
Well, a child's going
to make it a family.
So you with a woman and a child. It's awkward now. Huh? You got a whole family. Yeah, thank you. Yes. Yes. Okay. Well, the child's going to make it a family. So you with the woman and the child.
It's awkward now.
Huh?
You got a whole family.
Yeah, I got a family, man.
I take care of my family.
Got you.
Got you.
I take care of my family.
It's kind of awkward.
Back to your tour.
We're going to go back to your tour.
Why are you so...
You're acting very suspicious.
I'm not.
I don't know why.
I'm chilling.
I'm doing...
Please check him for a while.
Something ain't right, man.
Why are you acting like this?
It's kind of awkward. Jesus. No, it didn't get awkward Something ain't right, man. Why do y'all got all awkward?
Jesus.
No, it didn't get awkward.
No, it did not.
I was just, oh, because she knew that.
I didn't think she was going to ask.
Because I was talking, she's going to bust in.
You could have waited.
You could have asked me that when I finished.
Damn.
The Purpose Chaser Tour.
Tell them about that, where you can get tickets and all that.
Yeah, you can get tickets and a link in my bio.
But yeah, Purpose Chaser Tour, right now, man, for it man for it so if I'm in your city man come see me live on stage

goals I appreciate it man thank you so want to see you achieve all your goals. I appreciate it, man.
Thank you so much.
The next time I come in here, hopefully we'll be talking about the movie and stuff like that.
Absolutely.
It's Desi Bates.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Thank you all so much.

Yes.
First time on the Breakfast Club too, right?
First time, yes.
How you feeling, black man?
Feel rejuvenated.
Where, where, where?
Feel revived.
I always wanted to ask you, man, why you do sincere like that in belly, man?
Why you ain't warn him?
Why you didn't warn him that you saw some trouble coming?
Listen, when they give you a script, you got to follow the script.
That's it.
It's a script.
In reality, I wouldn't even have been on the block with the baby in reality
no way in the world i understand that one but word man yeah so for people that don't know az
don't know the history of az let's start from the beginning where is az from and what got you into
music brooklyn i'm a brooklyn guy um of course like everybody else uh the sugar hill
gang you know king tim the third uh 80 1980 that dropped and hip-hop turned everybody out you know
what i mean as far as me getting on that was that wasn't by design it just happened you know just
being at the right place right time meeting nas on the phone and just happened how did you how did
you meet nas you from brooklyn he's from queens i added that connect because back then you know it was borough to borough brooklyn mess with brooklyn
queens mess with queens harlem was with harlem bxbx right it was a homie thing you know i mean
um my homie knew his homie like yo my people spending your people's on the phone me actually
me and naz was on the phone for a year first before we even bumped heads and i never asked
to get on the album i came to the studio
he invited me uh went a couple of times prior to we doing life's just you know just being supportive
you know i mean um and we put on life's i started rapping to myself he knew i rap because we're
going back and forth but when he heard he was like yo i need that man i need that on the joint
i'm thinking he playing because i think halftime was out of it he was half time yep it was crazy
in the streets for him.
I didn't have belief in myself at the time, you know what I mean?
But that was crazy.
So hopped on the joint and it would have did.
He kept it on the album. I could argue that Life's a B***h is the best record on Illmatic.
I can argue that when you think of Illmatic, you think of that record.
That man looking at you.
I mean, come on.
I'm thinking because that album was such a classic album.
That one, but then you got,
like you said,
Halftime, It Ain't Hard to Tell.
You got...
Great records,
but I'm just talking about
when you think about
the quintessential Crown Juniors
from that album.
Here's the thing.
I think that being the last song
that they heard
because his tape was so revered
in the streets
and everybody just had it
before the album came out.
So I think Life's a D***
was like the last song
nobody heard or expected.
But when they heard it,
like, you feel like
nobody could really
out-rap this guy right here.
Right when you're hearing him,
when you first heard him,
when he put me on,
I figured he's being nice.
The music in that song
was, I think,
something different.
I mean, you think about it, right?
Y'all rapping,
and then you hear the trumpets
at the end,
the horns at the end,
and the horns are going, and you riding through it right y'all rapping and then you hear the the horns at the end the horns at the end and the horns are going and you
riding through and it was just that project was just an amazing project
and that hook yes I don't care where you was at in the world you felt that if you was in a certain environment
I agree yeah I mean at that time I guess it was a lot in the streets at that time
you know I mean and everybody just trying to figure it out. So I think it hit home.
So who was that hook?
Me.
Okay, okay.
That was my joint.
So he gave you the beat and you did the verse and the hook and everything?
No, he didn't give me.
Actually, LDS was playing the beat and I was just in the studio.
And I heard it.
I was in my own zone.
You know, back in the days.
Well, I don't know how I go now.
You know, everybody do studios different.
But in the studio, everybody's in the studio.
You know what I mean?
So these three over there smoking weed.
Them three over there drinking Hennessy. I'm probably over there just i'm in my own zone because i'm new
i'm from brooklyn the whole queens crew in there you know i'm okay i'm just meeting everybody but
i was in my own zone and he heard it he was like yo spit that again get out of here i told him i
spit it again and then he's like go go in the booth you know i spit it i had the hook already
and then they heard it they was like yo that's it you know i mean it went And then he like, go in the booth. You know, I spit it. I had the hook already. And then they heard it. They was like,
yo,
that's it.
You know what I mean?
It went crazy.
I was like,
all right,
keep it.
I still wasn't really,
you know,
I thought it was being nice.
But then he kept it on the album.
I salute him.
Let's go.
Were you there for the whole process of that album?
Nah,
not the,
probably half.
Half.
And y'all recorded that in the city or Queens?
Nah,
in the city.
Y'all recorded in the city?
Chungking.
So now that record comes out, right? And have like charlamagne said who's that who's
that who's that now when did you get your deal because everybody thought you were from harlem
that's crazy i thought i always thought assumed you was from queens until i read up on your history
back in the day and i'm like oh he's from brooklyn and now i think i'm like well damn
how come they don't mention az with the great Brooklyn MCs?
Like, whenever somebody be like, who the nice is from Brooklyn?
Right, right, right.
Like, regardless of what borough you would be from, you'd be listed.
I mean, my name come up.
Yeah.
I mean, I hear it a few times.
Yeah.
On one of the greatest, you talk about a lot of this history.
Was that you just letting people know, like, this is how I got on.
This is what I've been doing.
And this is why I'm one of the best. ever did. Yeah, well, you know what?
I wanted to show another side of me, right?
Because most of the time I rap, it's a lot of bravado,
just really just spitting poetry,
and, you know, I just wanted to really take them on a tour
of really the inception and what I've seen
and what I've been through, just, you know,
to take the fans on, you know, a little journey with me.
But, yeah, I feel like I'm one of the greatest now.
I feel like that.
I feel like I'm good.
I got enough albums under the belt.
You know, I know the greats.
I can dance with them.
So, yeah, I'm going to title myself one of the greatest.
It's a fact.
One thing I would say about AZ is coming up in New York, I would see AZ.
AZ was always out, right?
I would see him at a function, a party, a club, whatever, or out and about.
You were never with too many people. in the beginning and again after a while
I was like let me figure it out right because early in early in my career
Um, am I folded that was like a slap in the face that you know
I'm learning the game as we go along as a music business, right?
So now I'm like the force the kid in the business like I'm going from label to label to label trying to figure it out
So you got a lot of luggage on your back it's hard to really figure things out makes
things a little more crazy you know what i mean so yeah i i was shaving the weight as i was moving on
you know uh andre 3000 recently said that at his age of 48 he feel like he has nothing to rap
about you clearly don't feel that way no no i mean for me everybody everybody different right
for me i feel like i'm representing for those that really never made it or see me made it in my in my
mind this is this is me in my mind like damn you know a lot of homies lost their lives a lot been
locked up for a long time so i'm like i'm just representing for them carrying the torch i'll
probably never stop now also through your career, you guys created The Firm.
Now, how was The Firm created, and how did you guys decide to pick the members of The Firm?
How was The Firm created?
I mean, me and Nas had that idea for a while for my album, for More Money, More Murder.
And then from there, I knew Fox.
And she was just, at that time, i don't i'm trying to remember how it
really happened but i know kim was doing her thing and then i'm like oh i know somebody from brooklyn
he was like cool so then we brought fox to the table and she was getting high i think she did
the jay-z joint um after that it was was nas brought mega to the table and and and there you
have it and then all the other things took place then y'all decided to do a project with Dre.
Oh, yeah, okay.
With that part, with Nas messing with Dre
and it was written and he going double platinum
made it that much easier.
Made it that much easier for the firm to happen.
So gave it a shot.
You know, everybody was really successfully
doing their own thing, you know what I mean?
And it made it that easier.
But there's a lot of cooks in the kitchen,
you know what I mean? Like management and it that easier. But there's a lot of cooks in the kitchen. You know what I mean?
Like management and labels.
And it became hectic on that.
And to really, you know, reap the fruits.
I was going to ask because I felt like that project never got the light it deserved.
Right?
Y'all stepped outside the box with Wiretap.
Your firm biz.
I just seen the video the other day.
Right.
But I felt like with the amount of artists on there.
Even when they went from Mega to Nature and you and fox and nasa i just felt like it should
have been a bigger project but it kind of felt like it just fizzled out i mean it was so much
going on it was just so so much man you you know you got like i said different labels management
contracts it was just too much i think you know what i mean i guess after they invested but so
much they figured like all, this is enough.
We ain't going to keep burning the midnight oil on this.
Whose idea was the wiretap?
I would say it was mine.
I take that.
Because me being in there and Dre doing the beat, I hopped in there, got in the zone.
I had an idea, but the Nas came up with, like, the hook.
It was a good thing, man.
It was good.
Listen, they still talking about it.
Wiretap is amazing. They still talking about it Y-Tap is amazing
They still talking about it
Sometimes
Alright we got more with AZ
When we come back
It's the Breakfast Club
Good morning
Good morning everybody
It's DJ Envy
Charlamagne Tha Guy
We are the Breakfast Club
We're still kicking it with AZ
Yes sir
Charlamagne
You titled this album
Truth Be Told
What truth are you telling?
My truth
You know just my truth
When I did one of the greats, I felt like I was just being personal.
I took the title from there.
And all of the other songs were just me expressing my perspective.
You know what I mean?
So, yeah.
How'd you pick your features?
You only got three features on the album.
You got Moo Moo Fresh, Fat Joe, Foul March.
I mean, Foul March, stand up all day.
Liverpool Monster. Actually, he was on 36, stand-up all day. Liverpool monster.
Actually, he was on 36 Seasons that Ghost did.
That was crazy.
I always wanted to do a record with him at the end of the day.
Joe, me and Joe, Joe was just there.
Joe a good brother.
You know what I mean?
Actually, from him giving me sneakers, I kind of seen him back-to-back after that.
At the Nas, the dinner thing.
You know, i just kept running
into him i'm like okay i i got i got joe and joe get busy and mumu she was a bit on a show i
supposed to been on i was like who's mumu fresh and i looked up she was crazy she's we got to do
more music our voices phenomenal yeah rap sing rap too right yeah so she said that's her singing
and rapping yes yes yes what do you think was there any disconnect with like you in the industry like back in the 90s because it feel
like you were set up to like win and win big yeah but like i said when emr folded everybody has a
label that pushes them i didn't have a label at that time so it's a rap to me right so in my mind
i keep on going so i'm going from from there to Virgin, from Virgin to Electro, from Electro to Moe.
Like, I kept, the beauty of it, I'd never been dropped.
And the beauty of it is they didn't try to shelf me, you know what I mean?
So that was a great thing.
Were they making you make music that you necessarily didn't want to make?
No, no, I had free will.
You know, it was just that, you know, if a label not behind you at that time, now that we know the game, the game you're not going but so far you know i mean because it's a lot they got to put in
market promotion radio they're not 100 behind you nothing's happening you think you get the
credit acknowledgement that you put in and all the records that you've done that you deserve
especially this year with 50 years of hip-hop right you see all these celebrations and i'm
thinking i'm like damn i've never seen az mentioned in majority of them right um do I I never really thought about that either I mean I'm here you
know I'm independent I've been in the game I think in due time you know everything has surfaced but
I mean the true heads they know what it is you know I mean they know I'm sure no but like I said
this is a business let's not forget that you, and there's a lot of things that go behind these names and things that's being done.
You know, a lot of sponsorship, a lot of people vouching for certain things.
And it's cool.
I mean, I'm sure the love is there within the music business and outside.
Like, I'm kind of cool.
Everybody got a position to play at the end of the day.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I stand on it.
It's cool.
You know, you got those that's there and you got those is right here you know
i figure i'm right here you know what i mean and and that's my position and it was always rumored
that you and nas were supposed to do a couple of albums together whatever happened to that when we
got the life's more money more problems listen that's my brother you gotta ask that man you know
what i mean but i'm here whenever you're ready, I'm here. Did he inspire you, you know, with what he was doing with Hit-Boy over the last few years?
Yeah, yeah.
Facts, facts.
He definitely did.
I mean, to see him constantly put music out and stay relevant and as his pen gets sharper,
it's like, it inspires me.
Like, yeah, that's my boy.
And that's what made me just really, of course, I had to put Door.12, but now just staying
on it right now.
I ain't no like, yo, this my last album yo we're dying now we
ain't doing that and where did the visualizer where did that come from
visualizing the real is it took it from there oh okay okay okay from there they
gave me a title but they started calling people's yeah what what did you what did
you visualize for yourself that that absolutely came true in this rap game?
That's the little dream for all my peeps that never made it.
And that's it?
That's it.
That's all.
Can't ask for too much.
You know, the reason I like that mentality, man, is because, you know, you got so many
people that are like, oh, I want to be a billionaire.
I want to sell 100 million records.
Yo, sometimes just being alive is enough.
Yeah.
Being able to represent for the people who are not here no more.
Great expectations bring great disappointment. You know, being able to represent for the people who are not here no more. Great expectations bring great disappointment.
You know what I mean?
So, yeah.
Have you ever had any expectations for yourself in this game?
In this game?
Yeah.
Just to stay relevant.
And I think I'm doing a good job, you know?
And staying out of the way.
You know, just be alive.
I see a lot of things are used for marketing tools.
Like, you know, when I see things and i can't really understand what's going on and you sit back like
oh i see what's going on so it's just a game it's a game of entertainment i'm figuring out right and
it's late it's late in the game but i get it now because sometimes i'll be like why would you want
to mess the money up but you got a positive note yes man the positive note is simply this uh i just
read a quote that said never be the reason someone asked god for peace so god forgive me for the times i've been the toxic person in somebody's
life breakfast club bitches you're finished or y'all done had enough of this country ever dreamt
about starting your own i planted the flag this is mine i own this it's surprisingly easy there's
55 gallons of water 500 500 pounds of concrete.
Or maybe not.
No country willingly gives up their territory.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
