Hey guys, I'm Kate Max. You might know me from my popular online series, The Running Interview Show,
where I run with celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more.
After those runs, the conversations keep going.
That's what my podcast, Post Run High, is all about.
It's a chance to sit down with my guests and dive even deeper into their stories,
their journeys, and the thoughts that
arise once we've hit the pavement together. Listen to Post Run High on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey y'all, Nimany here. I'm the host of a brand new history podcast for kids and families called
Historical Records. Executive produced by Questlove, The Story Pirates, and John Glickman,
Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop.
Flash, slam, another one gone.
Bash, bam, another one gone.
The crack of the bat and another one gone.
The tip of the cap, there's another one gone.
Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history.
Like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama
who refused to give up her seat on the city bus
nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing.
Check it.
And it began with me.
Did you know, did you know?
I wouldn't give up my seat.
Nine months before Rosa, it was Claudette Colvin. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records.
Because in order to make history, you have to make some noise.
Listen to Historical Records on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Sleep tight, if you can.
Listen to Haunting on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
It's dangerous. It's dangerous.
Everybody come to the breakfast club. I call this the hot seat.
You're alive. You're alive. Can Seat. Y'all are wild.
Y'all are wild.
Can I live?
You are out of control.
I can't even deal with you.
Y'all are so petty.
Why are y'all so petty?
The world's most dangerous morning show.
DJ Envy.
Captain of this bitch.
Angela Yee.
I stay in everybody's business, but in a good way.
Charlamagne Tha God.
The ruler rubbing you the wrong way.
The breakfast club.
Made for everybody.
Good morning, Angela Yee.
Good morning, DJ Andy.
Charlamagne Tha God.
Peace to the planet.
It's Tuesday.
Yes, it's Tuesday.
That's right.
And I'm telling you, man, we definitely need three-day weekends.
Can Joe Biden make that happen?
I don't know if he can make that happen. Can Vice President Kamala Harris?
How do you make that happen?
Is that a state thing? Is that a state thing?
Is that a federal thing?
Three-day weekend is what it is, man.
Mondays aren't essentially anything.
It's actually cruel and unusual punishment to make people get up and go to work.
I'm with you.
Two days off.
Some people work on the weekends.
What I got to do with anything?
I'm talking about for those of us who don't.
Okay?
These requests are very self-serving, all right?
Yes, I want three-day weekends.
Mondays are not necessary. Well, happy Valentine's
Day. I hope you guys had a great Valentine's.
Valentine's.
Valentine's.
I took the kids out. We went bowling. The whole
family, we went out. We did a game
night. So we played Monopoly. We went
bowling. We played
Jenga. So we did all the things as a family.
We had a great time. Just kept the family close family close I mean it was nowhere to go most restaurants
only allowed what 20% capacity 30% capacity and that's your whole family
your whole family makes up 40% so that's what we did I don't know what you guys
did what you guys do what you do ye well nothing for Valentine's Day really I was
at home.
But yesterday I went mattress shopping, and then I went with one of my friends.
She's moving, Latina, and I was helping her.
We went furniture shopping together.
So that was my whole day yesterday.
You know, President's Day is a great day for sales when it comes to furniture and mattresses.
That's right.
And Shalame?
I was in the process of moving all weekend.
Well, not moving.
Well, I was moving, but I was watching the movies move everything all weekend.
So that's what I did this weekend, which is much of nothing.
You know, you get the regular, get balloons and stuff for the girls and my wife.
Chocolate-covered strawberries.
That's about it.
Okay.
Kept it light.
Watched a little WandaVision.
Trying to finish up Cicely Tyson's book, which is amazing, by the way, just as I am.
Lord have mercy.
Great, great read.
All right.
Well, let's get the show cracking.
I know the weather is nasty around the country.
I think I've seen something that it was cold and everywhere but Miami or Florida.
Well, I guess it's Florida is hell.
Florida is hell.
It's paradise.
It looks great.
It looks appealing, but it's hell.
All right. Okay. What are It looks appealing, but it's hell. All right.
What are we talking about, Yee?
Well, of course, the weather.
And, of course, Donald Trump acquitted.
All right.
And Earthgang will be joining us this morning.
Oh, man.
The young ghetto gods.
That's right.
Earthgang.
We'll kick it with Earthgang in a little bit.
All right.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are the Breakfast Club.
Let's get some front page news.
Where we starting?
Well, right now, more than 200 million people are under alerts.
There's a deadly winter storm that's been moving into the northeast.
People are having power outages.
They don't have heat.
There's tons of snow that is falling everywhere.
I saw they shut down the airport in Houston.
Dropping temperatures have frozen or overworked power sources.
And there's nearly 5 million people in the dark as of this morning.
A lot of customers who were affected primarily were spread across Oregon, Texas, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia.
Yeah, they said 1.2 million people in Houston alone have no power, which is crazy.
The other problem is COVID-19 vaccinations.
Those have been postponed in a lot of places too
because of the weather.
So now there's all these coronavirus vaccines
and who knows if they're going to end up going bad
and people can't use them.
But again, you know, in different places,
San Antonio postponed vaccinations for the second day
and people are trying to salvage some of the vaccines
that were in jeopardy of spoiling.
Yeah, and you know, weather like that
and places like that
impact the city in a really bad way because they're not equipped for it.
You know what I mean?
In New York, they got the salt trucks and the snow plows
and all of that type of stuff.
Coming from South Carolina, one inch of snow shut the whole city down.
Yeah, I remember.
Shut the whole state down.
I remember going to the School of Virginia,
and then they would throw sand down because nobody had rock salt,
and then the sand would just be nasty and dirty and make things
disgusting. You know what it felt like when I was in
New York when Hurricane Sandy hit? And I was like,
oh, punk-ass Category 1 hurricane?
Because I lived through Hurricane Hugo, right?
I'm like, oh, punk-ass Category 1? Category 1
shut the whole city down.
The city's not equipped for it. Just like the South's not
equipped for snow.
Right. And I saw some families sitting
in their cars trying to get heat.
And you know, that's dangerous too because carbon monoxide.
So please be careful if you
don't have heat or whatever
is happening. Don't do that just because of the carbon
monoxide issues. If you're in a garage and not
outside. Right. Just open up the oven like
normal people do. You ever used to do that?
Open up the oven for heat? I don't think that's good for you either
for too long, right? I saw somebody say that. I didn't know
why they said that.
My grandmama definitely did that.
Everybody, boil some water on the stove
and let that take over. What happened to kerosene
heaters? Remember kerosene heaters?
Kerosene heaters used to keep you so warm.
Have you stink, but keep you warm.
Alright, now
Donald Trump has been acquitted
in his second impeachment trial
exactly a month and a week after insurrectionists incited a riot at the Capitol.
Donald Trump is speaking out and he's obviously very happy about this.
Now, here is what Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell had to say.
There's no question that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.
Well, why did he not get convicted?
Here's what else Mitch McConnell had to say.
If President Trump were still in office, I would have carefully considered whether the
House managers proved their specific charge.
By the strict criminal standard, the president's speech probably was not incitement. However, in the context of
impeachment, the Senate might have decided this was acceptable shorthand for the reckless actions
that preceded the riot. But in this case, the question is moot because former President Trump
is constitutionally not eligible for conviction. We don't call him Mitch McConnell. We call him
Mitch McConnell, okay, because that's Donald Trump's bitch.
And I'm telling you right now, and I've told you this before,
the biggest threat to this country, the biggest threat to the democracy of America,
what keeps us from absolutely being the country of liberty and justice for all,
is old white males in politics.
Old white males like Mitch McConnell.
How can you tell me, yes, he caused an insurrection, an attempted coup on America,
but we're not going to do nothing about it?
We ain't charging him. We ain't going to do anything about it.
We know what he did, but now we ain't sure what happens when someone comes along that's smarter than Trump.
Somebody who actually knows politics.
That person has seen what's possible and they've seen what Trump got wrong.
As I saw Ari Melbler say, an attempted coup with no consequences is just a training exercise.
Somebody's going to come along and get it right, America.
Trust that. A majority of senators did
vote to convict Donald Trump, but they
failed to reach the super majority that
was needed for a conviction. They needed two-thirds.
And it was 57 senators who voted
to convict him and 43 senators who
voted to acquit.
I didn't think anything was going to happen to him anyway,
but I didn't think that Mitch McConnell was going to stand up
there and tell us yeah he did it
but it's cool
so now that means he can run again correct
of course
he runs again he gets all the
bells and whistles that come with being
a former president
Teflon Don
old white males
old white males in politics
going to be the death of this democracy the death of this country I'm telling you old white males in politics gonna be the death of this democracy
the death of this country
I'm telling you
alright
well get it off your chest

What's up, baby?
How you doing, baby?
What it do, what it do, what it do?
What's the word?
What's the word?
Ain't gonna, ain to anything good, man.
I just want to say good morning to you guys.
Hope all is well.
Okay.
This is your boy, Terrell LA.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm talking to Terrell and Eva.
You know what I'm saying?
Got our 12th podcast, man.
And, you know, I want to give a shout out to us on YouTube.
And we got an Instagram, TalkWithT.E.
And my wife got both of her shots, you guys.
She got all her shots.
I guess the vaccine mean, the vaccine.
You make it sound like she a dog.
You know, man, look, man, I just woke up.
I woke up at 3 in the morning, but I'm woke now.
Yes, sir.
She got both of her shots.
And her first shot, you know, her arm was kind of sore.
That's good. Now you can have guilt
free, unprotected sex. There you go.
Don't worry about nothing happening. Hello, who's this?
Hi.
Good morning. Hi.
Good morning. Who this?
How are you guys? My name is Kiki.
Let's say Kiki. Hey, Kiki.
Oh, she gave a fake name.
You lying about your name.
I love y'all every morning, huh? You lying about your name. I love y'all every morning, huh?
You lying about your name.
I'm not lying.
It's short for my name.
My name is Kiana.
Okay, Kiana.
That was fast.
What's up, Kiki?
Get it off your chest.
I need to get it off my chest.
I am tired of people always trying to tell me what to do with my money, with my life.
Like, you know, it's a little icy out here this morning.
And, you know, people are like, oh, you should just call out of work.
And I'm just like, no, I need all my coins.
Okay.
Now, I'm with you.
Every one of my coins.
I was thinking about that as I was driving into work
because they had the sign that said, icy weather.
Don't travel if you don't have to.
I'm like, who has that luxury?
Exactly.
We're not rich, and this whole coronavirus thing done put people out of work.
I was out of work for a long time.
Now I'm back at work.
No, I need all my coins.
I'm with you.
All right.
All right, well, be safe.
Be safe still. They don't ever close us for
snow. You think I'm going to call out for some
ice? I'm going to
drop snow all the way in.
The post office is always open
no matter what. That's right.
Hello, who's this? Yo, what's up?
This is Rayfield Davis. How you doing?
What's up, bro? Get off your chest. His name is Rayfield Dave.
Rayfield Davis, man.
Oh, Rayfield. Okay. What's up, bro? I was on Twitter. I was is Racist Dave. Racefield Davis, man. Oh, Racefield. Okay.
What's up, bro?
I was on Twitter.
I was on Twitter earlier this morning.
Saw Lil Duval tweeting.
He said he didn't have no hot water.
A fan told him to take a bath.
He tweeted the fan back, said, I don't have no bath, just tub.
Just the person and me started as a flick.
I just want to see what y'all thought.
You said you want to take a bath with Lil Duval.
Yeah, I'm confused. What'd you say? He said he doesn to take a bath with Lil Duval. Yeah, I'm confused.
He said he doesn't have a tub.
Lil Duval said he don't have a tub in his house.
He didn't see that as a flex telling fans he didn't have a tub, just a shower.
It's only been a nice house with just a shower.
I think a tub is a luxury.
Nah, I mean.
Mad people got tubs.
That's a lie.
Yeah, I think everybody got a tub.
Tubs are dope.
Especially when you want to take a nice little Epsom salt bath.
Shoot, I love running me some warm water in the tub
and then taking me an Epsom salt bath.
I feel like bathtubs are more of a luxury than just having a shower.
You think so?
Yeah.
A lot of the new bathrooms don't really have tubs like that anymore,
but ain't no more bathroom in the tub.
I was thinking more of the new bathrooms, new houses.
They don't really have tubs.
Yeah, nah, they have more of the glass showers and things like that.
I got a glass shower and a tub.
My tub is a standalone.
It's not connected to the shower.
Oh, that's what I got, yeah.
But, yeah, I mean, people have tubs, though.
I love tubs.
I wouldn't get in a tub to actually wash, though,
because I always thought it was gross to get in that tub
and have that dirty water and put that dirty water all over you again.
That's just disgusting.
Yeah, that's my point.
Everybody always act like tubs are nasty.
You get what I'm saying?
So when Lil Duvall said, I don't got no tubs, I just got showers.
You know what I'm saying?
That's what I would say.
Okay.
Yeah, tubs are good.
No doubt.
I mean, if I'm tripping, I'm tripping.
You know what I'm saying?
And tubs humble you, too, because when you get out
and you see that ring around that bathtub,
you realize that you're just a dirty-ass little boy.
Get it off your chest.
800-585-1051.
If you need to vent, hit us up now.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Let's go.
This is your time to get it off your chest.
Whether you're mad or blessed.
Say it with your chest.
We want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club.
So if you got something on your mind, let it out.
Hello, who's this?
Hey, how's it going?
This is Fernando.
Good morning, everybody.
Fernando, what's up?
Get it off your chest. Hey, DJ Envy, I got a question for you how's it going? This is Fernando. Good morning, everybody. Fernando, what's up? Get it off your chest.
Hey, DJ Envy, I got a question for you.
You on mine.
Yes, sir.
Hey, man, trying to teach my kids how to speak Spanish, man.
You got any advice?
You know?
I mean, you are Dominican, Envy.
Come on now.
Nah, actually, I'm not Spanish, and I don't speak Spanish.
You should have asked Ramos.
How your kids learn Spanish?
So you're not Dominican?
No, my kids know Spanish, though.
I've been at them in Spanish since they were in kindergarten class, but I don't.
Oh, man.
Oh, kindergarten.
So you never used to DJ in Latino nights in New York?
Yeah, I played the black music, though.
You're a liar.
I did.
I don't know.
You were so happy during that reggaeton era so you could really blend in and blend the
best of your both worlds.
Nah, I just played Nori.
Oh, man.
No, Nori's my yo, this is Austin, man.
I'm sorry about that, man.
Y'all have a good day, though, y'all.
Man, he's Dominican.
He lying, bro.
All right, whatever, whatever.
Oh, man.
Now I've seen this picture.
You and Charlamagne, where had your Valentines back?
That's a lie.
Trev, hey, boo.
What's up, Yee?
How you doing, babe?
Good, how are you?
How are you?
First of all, my man was not Charlamagne.
My man's name is Leonardo.
Okay, Leonardo.
Now, you posted a picture of you and Charlamagne on Valentine's.
I sent it to Charlamagne, and you know what Charlamagne said?
What, you jealous?
He said, what you jealous?
That's what I said. He sent it to group chat. I said, you what Charlemagne said? What, you jealous? He said, what, you jealous? That's what I said.
He sent it to group chat.
I said, you jealous?
You think he was jealous, Trav?
I think he was jealous.
My man just kind of looks like you a little bit, but he got more hair than you.
I used to have an afro like that.
Don't count me out.
I'm, like, really disappointed in you, Charlemagne.
Like, you have really just let me down, but I'm used to men letting me down.
That is not true.
I sent the record.
I did what I told you I was going to do.
I sent the record.
Wow.
I don't know what's going on in this relationship.
Yeah, I haven't heard nothing back yet, but I sent the record.
Oh, did you like it?
I actually did enjoy it.
I think it could work for quite a few different ladies out here in these streets, actually.
Yeah, there's two that I wanted to work for,
which is City Girls and the other person.
Definitely could work for the City Girls.
Definitely could be a hit for them.
They're guaranteed hits.
But look, I'm calling to talk about my actual Valentine's Day.
I had an amazing Valentine's Day.
I didn't post the real person I was with because he DL'd,
but I had an amazing Valentine's Day.
Why would you want to date a DL dude, Trav?
I don't like that for you.
I mean, because, like, I don't know.
I can't help with it.
Listen, he just, I've been in that situation where I don't want to put my business out
because sometimes people act funny.
And I just understand it.
I get it.
So he's not, is he on the DL,
or he just don't want people to know his business because it's different?
I mean, so he's on the DL just meaning that, I mean, like, he's not, is he on the DL? He just don't want people to know his business. Cause it's different. I mean,
so,
so he's on a DL.
I mean,
it's just meaning that,
I mean,
he's like,
he only messes with me.
He doesn't know.
He doesn't mess with like any girls.
He doesn't have like any,
like a girlfriend and stuff.
He just doesn't want anybody to know he's gay.
He's private.
He don't want nobody to know his business.
That doesn't mean that he's D.
I look at DL as like,
he's still dating women.
And he really doesn't want to.
But that's only cause I read that book back in the
day on the DL. Who was that book by?
I can't remember the ball. Terrence
Dean.
Y'all telling Trav what DL means?
Y'all telling Trav what DL means?
No, no, no.
I read the one by JL
King on the DL.
Oh, you know what? Terrence Dean wrote
Hiding in Hip Hop.
Congratulations on the purchase of your home. Thank you, bro. Oh, you know what? Terrence Dean wrote Hiding in Hip Hop. What's up, Trav? Congratulations on the
purchase of your home. Thank you, bro.
Congratulations on that. I appreciate it.
Dramos is a beard.
What does that make a beard? Are beards on the DL?
Oh, shut up.
Leave Dramos alone.
He says fear the beard. I don't know what that means.
Shut up, man. Thanks, Trav.
Get it off your chest.
800-585-1051.
If you need to vent, you can hit us up. Now, we got
rumors on the way? Yes, and we do want to
send some love and light to Nicki Minaj
and her family. We'll tell you what
happened over the weekend. And
Sy High the Prince, he says that somebody
tried to assassinate him in Atlanta.
Alright, we'll get into that when we come back.
It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's the Breakfast Club.
This is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee on the Breakfast Club.
We'll definitely want to start off this morning offering our condolences to Nicki Minaj and to her family.
Her father, Robert Mirage, was killed. He was struck in a hit-and-run accident.
He was 64 years old.
Now, according to the police,
he was walking on the road in Long Island Friday evening around 6 p.m.,
and he was hit by a vehicle.
The driver then fled the scene,
and the next morning he was,
he passed away because of his injuries.
Damn, that's horrible.
Sending love, light, and healing energy
to Nicki Minaj and her whole family.
Prayers up.
Losing a parent is always hard, especially losing a parent like that.
And 64 is a wild young.
Hell yeah.
And the person that did that, you do know you killed somebody, right?
Like your conscience is not going to sit well with you, sir or madam.
So you might as well just turn yourself in and deal with the consequences of your actions,
because I'm sure they're going to catch you anyway.
Alright, now, Sy High the Prince
over the weekend recounted an experience
that almost killed him. He said
that somebody tried to assassinate him.
He was in Atlanta
and he posted a message. Today is
a day about love, but in my city, the city of
Atlanta, there's no love here anymore. A couple nights
ago, there was an attempt on my life. Somebody
tried to gun me down on the highway. I tried everything I could do to lose them,
but they were adamant about taking me off this earth. They were shooting at me while I was
driving. And even after my car flipped, hit a pole and crashed into a tree, they came back and shot
the car up some more. At this point, I don't know if it was a mistaken identity, a robbery or
associated with something that I did when I was younger, but I haven't been in the streets in over
a decade. I just want to know why and if there's anything I can do to fix the issue.
I was born and raised in Atlanta and I have tremendous love for my city, but it's chaotic
out here. I'm trying my best to keep a level head, but when you don't know who is after you,
it's hard to wrap your mind around it and not be paranoid. Yeah, it's amazing that he would put the
blame on himself in any way shape or form like like people are
starving out here people are hungry you know folks but the fact that he didn't get robbed and they
just shooting his car after it flipped he's like maybe it's something i've done in the past and if
you don't know who's out of prince that was uh a writer for kanye also kanye's artist he's he's a
rapper but yeah it might be something that you know he feels like he put out there because if
it was a robbery they would rob them they would robbed him but that's that's happened to you before because even after his car flipped over the
fact that they came and shot up the car while the car was flipped over yeah but they tried to rob me
but i kept it moving but i'm sure if my car would have flipped over and stopped they still would
have tried to rob me they wouldn't just shot it up unless i was shooting back still wouldn't i mean
i get it you know it's always good to take accountability for things, but I mean, sometimes things
are out of your control. You don't know how people feel
about you. Jealousy and envy is a mother effer, bruh.
Well, he just doesn't know what it is.
And the pictures of the car look horrifying.
If you saw it, it was just
destroyed.
Alright, now, Netflix
is launching a new B.I.G., Notorious
B.I.G. documentary called Biggie. I got
a story to tell. And that's
coming out on March 1st. So it would have been his 50th birthday. And here is a snippet of what's
going to be in this documentary. It's an intimate portrait of Biggie. And here it is. My son was a
very smart kid. He was already writing since elementary. Every summer, Chris would come back from Jamaica.
He would be a sponge
to just so much more that was outside
of our scope. He was like,
I gotta get us off the streets.
A lot of the bad decisions came from
wanting to provide.
He disrespected my house.
That wasn't my son.
You don't understand me having to sell
drugs on the corner
to this.
This is actually something that's executive produced by
Diddy, by Biggie's mom, Valetta Wallace,
Mark Pitts.
In addition, executive produced
by Wayne Barrow, who is also his
former manager and current estate manager.
Yeah, I'm here for this. I'm here for this for
one reason and one reason only, because they are
using never-before-seen footage from the good brother D-Rock.
Dropping the clues bombs for D-Rock.
So I expect this to be the Biggie documentary.
Yeah, I'm excited about this one.
Like, the one.
All right, and this is exciting,
because this is the person who taught me how to play chess, the Jizza.
He has a Chess Boxing with Jizza on Vans Channel 66 live streaming network.
So you'll get to see him playing chess with
other celebrities who have some skills
when it comes to chess. So that's airing again
on Vans Channel 66.
Also, the weekend Super Bowl
halftime documentary is coming to
Showtime. So what goes into
making one of the biggest musical productions
of the year? Well, Showtime is going
to show you that in the documentary. It's called
The Show.
Okay. And salute to
the jizzer, man. I saw
U.S. House of Representatives delegate
Stacey Plaskett, I think you pronounced her
last name. She was quoting lyrics
from Run the Juice and
the jizzer last week
while speaking at Donald Trump's impeachment trial.
Okay. And happy birthday to the weekend, because
today is the weekend's birthday too.
And D'Angelo has announced
that he's going to participate in Versus.
It's a different type of way this time.
Here's what he said on social media.
Live at the Apollo Versus.
D'Angelo and friends.
All right?
Don't be late.
What does that mean?
Concert?
February 27th at 8 p.m.
What does that mean?
Who's he going up against?
It feels more like a performance
Because it's going to be not just him
But other artists as well
I don't know if it's a true versus or more like a jam session
Is it versus presents?
Because it's not a versus
Is it versus the company presenting D'Angelo?
It doesn't sound like a versus
Because I was looking at it and I was like
Is it D'Angelo versus his friends?
Like what's going on here?
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
But it's an official versus, and he will be performing.
And it looks like it's just like maybe a whole bunch of people that he's cool with, that he's worked with.
I don't know.
They couldn't find no competition for D'Angelo?
I think D'Angelo versus Rafael Sadiq would have been a good one.
D'Angelo versus Maxwell.
D'Angelo versus Maxwell. D'Angelo versus Maxwell.
Would have been a good one, too.
That is your rumor report.
D'Angelo versus Maxwell would have been the one, by the way.
Mm-hmm.
All right.
Where we starting?
Well, let's start with these rallies that have taken place in San Francisco.
And that's all because of recent attacks against Asian Americans.
So communities and advocates have been on high alert ever since this happened. And of course,
people are celebrating the Lunar New Year, Chinese New Year. So they said most recently,
a 91-year-old Asian man was violently shoved to the ground in Oakland. Last week, a 64-year-old
woman was robbed outside a Vietnamese market in San Jose. And a 61-year-old Filipino man was
slashed in the face last week on the train in New York
City and they're saying that crimes
against Asian Americans have
actually increased eight times since
2019. I'm going to tell you something, man. You put
your hands on an old person. I don't care what the race
is. You need your butt crushed in a weed grinder.
Yo, you don't got to
bleep that.
That wasn't a sexual act. Can we start at testicles?
Can we start using that, why that sounds worse that's
that sound it's an actual scientific medical term all right well let me rephrase don't say it again
are you happy now john yes all right thank you what about gonads i think that sounds good
what are those i gotta know i gotta know what they are to scare me first you can't
what are those if you tell me right now i'm gonna to crush your gonads, I'm going to be like, tell me what that is first.
Testicles.
Now I'm scared.
You told me what it is.
All right.
Now, Joe Biden, our president, is calling for Congress to strengthen gun laws.
That's on the third anniversary of the mass shooting that happened in Parkland, Florida.
And the president is calling for several provisions. He wants background checks on all gun sales,
banning assault weapons in high-capacity magazines,
and also eliminating legal immunity for gun manufacturers.
So Pelosi, the House Speaker, said in a statement
that Congress would work with the Biden administration
to enact two background check bills.
I'm not against background checks.
I'm not against background checks.
I'm not against high... You should not be able to
just walk in and anybody buy a gun.
But he said large magazines that hold
that much ammunition. I'm not against that. I'm not
against assault rifles that have no...
that you can just shoot 22
bullets a second. I'm not against none of that.
Because even if you're saying I'm hunting,
there's no deer that deserves 22 shots
in a second. Like, there's no deer...
So I agree with all that.
My thing is, what are they waiting on?
Like, what are they waiting on?
They're trying to make it a law, so it has to go
through Congress. But it's been happening for years.
Parkland shooting was just one of the most recent ones.
Mass shootings have been happening forever.
What are they waiting on?
Let's get it done. People have to vote
for it.
Nancy Pelosi has announced a 9 nine 11 style commission into the Capitol
siege.
So she's going to review everything that happened there.
And it's going to be,
uh,
she's indicating that a full commission was needed to ensure against
another deadly breach of Congress.
Uh,
Nancy Pelosi wrote,
it is clear from his findings and from the impeachment trial that we
must get to the truth of how this happened to protect our security,
our security, our security.
Our next step will be to establish an outside independent 9-11 type commission.
So they're going to investigate and report on the facts and causes related to the January 6th domestic terrorist attack against the United States Capitol.
Don't even worry about it, Nancy.
You let the president get away with it.
You let Al Crack and Vanilla Ice's get away with it.
Don't even worry about it at this point.
Clearly, y'all don't care.
There's no consequences and no repercussions for attempted coups in America.
I cannot wait until the next person comes around that's smarter than Trump, somebody who actually knows politics.
And that person has seen what's possible.
And he saw what Trump got wrong.
And I can't wait until he executes it correctly.
Because America deserves it.
As we stated earlier, Donald Trump was acquitted in his second impeachment trial.
They did need two thirds of the Senate to convict.
And it was 57 senators that voted to convict Donald Trump and 43 senators who voted to acquit.
It was, I believe, seven Republicans who actually voted to convict him.
And a lot of people did cross those party lines,
but they said some of those people aren't planning to run again or get reelected.
So they didn't have to worry about not getting Republican support in the
future.
But one of the main things for people is that they don't want to,
you know,
get ousted and get,
get ostracized from the Republicans.
What are the consequences for an attempted coup in America?
Clearly nothing.
The precedent has been set.
Well, here's Mitch McConnell himself
saying that he believes that this
whole thing happened because of Donald Trump.
No question that President Trump
is practically and morally responsible
for provoking the events of the day.
Imagine the judge talking to you like that.
You just know you're going to jail.
When you're black in the courtroom and the judge talking to you like that,
you're like, I'm about to get the book thrown at me.
And then they tell you, you can go home.
And then this happens.
Have a good day.
Go golfing.
My goodness.
All right.
Well, that is your Front Page News.
All right.
Thank you, Miss Yee. Now, when we come back, that is your front page news. All right. Thank you,
miss.
Now,
when we come back,
earth gang will be joining us.
Earth gang is a group from Atlanta.
They're signed to dreamville.
Yes.
Thoroughly enjoy.
Okay.
We'll talk to them.
Uh,
when we come back,
I,
and they also went to Hampton university,
by the way,
allegedly.
All right.
We'll talk to him.
It's the breakfast club.
Good morning.
We know that you ride black people,
right?
Is your country falling apart?
Feeling tired? Depressed?
A little bit revolutionary?
Consider this. Start your own country.
I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it.
I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
I am the Queen of Ladonia.
I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg.
I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition.
The Waikana tried my country.
My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong?
No country willingly gives up their territory.
I was making a rocket with a black powder,
you know, with explosive warhead.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
Bullets.
We need help!
We still have the off-road portion to go.
Listen to Escape from Zakistan.
And we're losing daylight fast.

So y'all, this is Questlove, and I'm here to tell you about a new podcast I've been working on
with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records. It's a family-friendly
podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy
with your kids starting on September 27th.
I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records,
Nimany, to tell you all about it.
Make sure you check it out.
Hey, y'all. Nimany here.
I'm the host of a brand new history podcast
for kids and families called Historical Records.
Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop.
Each episode is about a different inspiring figure from history,
like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give
up her seat on the city bus
nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it.
And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat. Nine months before
Rosa, it was Claudette Colvin. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records because in order to make
history, you have to make some noise.

Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy

Pleasure to be here.
No, I'm happy that y'all here, man.

My little niece Nyla put me on the-
Yeah, yeah.
For sure, for sure.
Make sure y'all check that interview out.
We did with her.
That was a pleasure.
You seen that one.
I didn't know y'all both went to Hampton.
Yeah.
Really? Yeah. But they smart, though. You went to hampton and that you don't say yeah yeah yeah watch your mouth nah hampton was like because we're from southwest atlanta right you know so
we're from the hood like we went to public school all our lives surrounded by black people right
in the school so like going up to hampton you know it was a culture shock you know what i'm saying
like we had never it was a great shot man i'm gonna say i'm gonna know it was a culture shock you know I'm saying like we had never great shock I'm gonna say it was a realistic shot okay you know you got
spell man you got more house and stuff I'm private schools you know I even know
there was all black private schools but they down the street they in the hood
too so it's just like you know same but Hampton our home by the sea I ain't even
know cats had homes by the sea generational wealth like this
yo Bima you know say that's what I'm saying this is your granddaddy got money
like what like my granddad from time that's what I'm saying Atlanta bro we
not from like I'd like the outside we from Atlanta and it and it and that
Atlanta generational we have likes a few of it you know I'm saying before it got crazy like it was just like few of it. You know what I'm saying? Before it got crazy like this,
it was just like,
it was like,
you know what I'm saying?
Oh,
we know that y'all
in the entertainment industry
or something like,
okay,
you a lawyer here.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
But it's just like,
oh,
y'all just bred it up
over the years.
You know what I'm saying?
Now,
what were y'all majors
in school in college?
I was a site major,
but also,
I mean,
we ain't got to stay
on Hanna too long
because they did keep me out. They really don't deserve this. They kicked me out. Why'd they kick you out?
And I'm banned for life. We ain't been back. They kicked you out. Why'd they ban you for life?
Were you beat up a white boy or something? There was no white people.
There was like one or two white people though.
Nah, this is a long story but either way I got put out of that school, and they ain't getting all this pull from me.
You can give them their pull.
We're here for the long story.
What happened?
What happened?
Long story short.
I got kicked out twice, but I got back in.
But go ahead.
Long story short, me and some homies did some felonious crimes, and they wasn't rocking
with it.
Which ones did you do?
Was it the scamming?
Was it the Costco?
It was grand larceny.
That's what I got arrested for.
What y'all stealing?
Yeah.
At the time?
Literally the week before graduation.
You know what I'm saying?
Like the week before graduation.
It was actually a little bit longer than that because I thought I got away with it.
It was long enough for them to be like, you can't get me.
And then like a week before is when they came down and brought the hammer down.
That's funny.
You got this looking at you.
You got you looking at you. Would still so much bro bunch of school equipment?
From the school some from the school goodness around the school, but I'm this long story told me we scraped
Right that that light was done. We're gone for about about three four weeks all like
These ain't miss it. i feel like it's a lesson
here though did you steal something that some that somehow fulfilled your purpose like you
just don't know for sure for sure bro because stealing stealing that that's what like started
our whole spillage village like me and jid we did it together and a couple of other homies like it
was a squad us and after that we got kicked out of happening we ended up living together because
our parents put us out you know we saw a disgrace
Discretion we like I guess we gonna live together and start rapping and you know
We make man has good brother bonding over crime at school
I'm gonna talk to the president,
man.
Man,
I'm talking to that fool, man. Yeah, he's a good dude.
He's a good dude.
I don't give a damn
what that dude did, bro.
That dude,
no, no, no,
that dude talked to him
with my mama.
When my mama came
to try to talk to him,
I was like,
my mama's sweet ass,
Georgia ass,
peach cob last making that lady.
She pulled up
and this dude talked to him
with my mama, bro.
I was like, nah, bro. We got to make a right because we need you back at homecoming. Come on, that's your ass peach cobblers making that lady? She pulled up and this shit caught her with my mama, bro. I'm like, nah, bro.
We gonna make it right because we need you back at homecoming.
Come on, that's where y'all start.
So they book y'all for homecoming.
Y'all ain't going?
They're going to have the money.
You got to pay me back everything we paid to get there.
You got to get scholarships to subscribe to my hood.
That's what I'm saying.
You got to get scholarships to subscribe to my hood.
That's what we need.
We need that.
We need that.
I want to be a rapper.
Y'all give me my inspiration.
Do it.
Do it.
You know what I'm saying? But just get that retribution. I'm going to get the president on the phone. We're going. I want to be a rapper. Y'all give me my inspiration. Do it. Do it. You know what I'm saying?
But just get that retribution.
I'm going to get the president on the phone.
We're going to make this better, man.
We got to make this better.
That's a great story.
We got to make this better.
So y'all met at Hampton?
I thought y'all met at Hampton.
Nah, we met at high school.
We met in ninth grade.
Yeah, ninth grade at Mays High School.
So for people that don't know, just give them how you guys got together, how you guys got
the name.
Let's start from the beginning for people that don't know.
Man, we was boys in high school.
It wasn't even about necessarily trying to rap out the gay.
You know, he's just like, he's just the other funny in class.
So, it's just like, we just start hanging out.
You know what I'm saying?
We in the parking lot all the time playing music, realizing we got the same taste.
We freestyle and stuff in the parking lot.
And then it just go from freestyle in the parking lot to just like, yo, maybe we can really do this.
You know what I'm saying?
Let's try to get some shows.
So, we did the Atlanta circuit for a while.
Just the local. Everybody in Atlanta was making music then. You know what I'm saying? Let's try to get some shows. So we did the Atlanta Circuit for a while, just the local.
Everybody in Atlanta was making music then.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, everybody had a home studio and stuff.
So we would just pull up out of school doing whatever.
And then, you know what I'm saying?
Like you said, we were around the city doing little shows here and there.
And we got these scholarships to go to Hampton.
We was like, all right, let's rock it.
Went up there.
And we was like, oh, man, we can make it shake up here.
You know what I'm saying?
It ain't nothing.
And the network crazy.
You know what I and the network crazy
Network crazy students network among you do that you trying to do this you from over here you from over there Okay, we could hook you and hook you and y'all gonna go back home and spread the word and that basically happened
Now you talk about one-hit wonders and how you say the Atlanta had a one-hit a lot of one-hit wonders and y'all wanted to
Make sure y'all weren't part of that one hit one to click
Like for us it was just about the people, you know I'm saying like the one hit wonders
They come out in the song bigger than the name
Trying to do it just happened that way but for us it was just like yo when we go out there
We're gonna put on performance and y'all gonna remember this, know i'm saying wherever you go you're gonna remember this you're
gonna tell your people about like man i seen them here i seen them for that this show changed my
life it's one of the best shows of my life so like it's that memory set in stone like you could you
could keep swiping all day on something that's viral or whatever keep swiping but it's like
you got that memory in your head and you can share that with somebody you know like we got
you hooked we've been over the we travel the world man you know i'm saying because people love us we always want to be to, we travel the world, man. You know what I'm saying? Because people love us.
We always want to be global.
Yeah, we travel the world.
We're in the city,
we're like,
we're going to go everywhere.
You know,
I know y'all heard this before,
but I listen to y'all
and I'm automatically
brought back to that
Dungeon Family era of Atlanta,
which I love,
Goody Mob,
Outkast,
and I'm wondering,
why do you guys think
it took almost 30 years
for another group
to come out of Atlanta
with that energy?
Atlanta move fast, bro.
It's just like, it's hard to even, like, Atlanta just move fast, bro.
Like, every time something new and something is, it's already old.
Like, by the time everybody like it, it's old as.
So, like, I think with us, what we just did was just so much focus on making music in its entirety.
Like, just making a complete sound that people don't really know nothing else to compare it to
besides that.
So I appreciate the comparison
for sure,
but that's just really
where it comes from.
It's like, yo,
these **** making like
the most whole sound of music
I ever heard.
There's like so many parts
to ****.
These **** singing
and playing instruments
and rapping and all this ****.
Even with the Spillville project
and stuff,
a lot of people listening
to Spillage
and they was like,
man, this sound,
like you said,
organized noise,
it's the organic sound. You know what I'm saying? But on this next album like CeeLo was in the studio with us
He was listening to we play who's played a whole record for him
He was like man
I'm really proud like where this going cuz you could feel the group the organized noise influences and and the future
You know saying Gucci influence cuz like coming up in Atlanta
You can't not be influenced by organized noise just like you can't not be influenced by organized noise. Just like you can't not be influenced by Gucci.
Like, it's the same thing, you know?
Whether you know you're influenced by them or not.
Yeah, yeah.
Somebody around you done played this.
We all got uncles.
We all got aunties.
You know what I'm saying?
They done played this.
All right, we got more with Earthgang when we come back.
Don't move.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club right now from Atlanta.
We kicking it with Earthgang.
Charlamagne?
Now, what is Spilligion?
Spilligion.
Spilligion is the album.
The Spillage Village album.
Spillage Village, like we said, started from us being at Hampton.
Earthgang linked up with JID, linked up with Hollywood, JB.
Came back to Atlanta, linked up with Mariba, linked up with Black.
You know what I'm saying?
It's just a network of just like my individuals just making crazy dope
music is chilling in the house together like during that time where Atlanta was
really like bubbling from the next steps you know saying like 2013 2014 is where
it's like it's like a part miss the post-truth and James era of Atlanta like
that was like a time where like summer 2014 through like 17 18 but
it was like every summer somebody knew what popping out McConaughey you know
I'm saying that day like somebody go and that's when we linked up together and we
put out multiple projects you know I'm saying bears like this but this
religion was the stuff that we we linked up together to do this in March before
we even knew about the code and everything.
Everybody flew that line.
We got a crib.
It was just supposed to be quick.
And then the fan, you know what I'm saying?
So everybody was like, ah, you staying or you going?
You going to stay for a little while?
I bet.
Some people stayed the whole time in the house,
and we came up with the album.
And it was like one of our first time.
It was our first time really getting back together,
like everybody, you know what I'm saying?
And real-time music, you know, for what's going on.
Now, I know it's an album, but is there an actual cold to it. Is it like some type of religion?
I mean, it's just love that's the religion like love respect
You know like respect people that they respect you like we kind of got the idea because we was uh, you know
I was putting out these these projects together. It's village village. Just like on as an undercurrent to all our careers separately and uh
They were I was like, yeah I got such a cult careers separately. And Dave Robbins was like,
y'all got such a cult following, such a cult following.
And he was like, let's play on the cult thing.
Let's really just like dive headfirst into the cult thing.
And how did y'all hook up with J. Cole?
What was that call like when y'all first met him
and y'all decided?
Well, we met him at Irvin Plaza.
Yeah, Irvin Plaza.
That was the first time.
So on town plays, you know what I'm saying?
So like then we linked up with our manager
and he put us in touch with
TDE so we got a chance to go on the road with Abso on these days to a with boss 50 city tour
And get paid a dime
About 25 G's our own money going on the road like seven in y'all in the Traverse
Yeah, and the Chevy Traverse like seven and I don't
Say for a month and a half
two months bags
and so
when we was up in
Irvin Plaza
that's when we did
the show up there
Cole was there
and that was our first time
really linking
you know what I'm saying
like we had technical
difficulties at the show
and he just seen
how we continue
to just rock the crowd
and really like
you know what I'm saying
make the performance
work
y'all niggas ain't
back down
just pull up
he was like
I just got the crib
in North Carolina
I put a little studio
in there I don't know what y'all situation is he wasn't even trying to talk situation in the beginning he was just like y'all niggas ain't back down. Just pull up. He was like, I just got to crib in North Carolina. I put a little studio in there.
I don't know what y'all's situation is.
He wasn't even trying to talk situation in the beginning.
He was just like, y'all need somewhere to record at?
We was like, yes.
It was just basically like, where y'all recording at?
I feel like we had just lost our computer or something.
Yeah, and then we pulled up to the crib, to the shelter.
We didn't even unpack our bags.
Like, come downstairs.
We finna get on this track.
We finna make the track right now
He had just made a beat
Soon as we pulled up
He was like
Y'all can't stay here
Unless y'all
And that's the vision
On J.I.D. project
Called the vision
We're like yeah
That's what it was like
So was J.I.D. with him
Before?
Nah
He was on the road with us
So we took him
On the road with us
Because
He was a roommate too
But also I'm not finna
Leave my roomie bro
Yeah Like bro We going on the road With Soul because it was a roommate. Also, I'm not going to leave my room. Yeah.
Like, bro, we going on the road with soul, bro.
And we had a song with him.
So, okay.
We was in Harkness.
He was in James.
I was in James, too.
Yeah, G was in James, too.
But like I said, when we got kicked out, like I said, we ended up having to like live in this little condemned ass house together.
And I'm finna go.
I'm like, bro, come with us, bro.
I'm not finna go on this cold tour.
We've been doing,
like,
and before then,
we had been rapping all throughout Atlanta
for the last two and a half years.
So we're not just finna go on the road
with Soul
and leave you at the crib.
You know what I'm saying?
So like,
it's shit fire actually
because Gia literally came out
on tour with us to do
one verse tonight.
One song.
One, yeah.
The last song of the set.
On the song every night.
You know what I'm saying?
Gia was just gonna do it.
And then he was like, yo, who's that other f***er y'all had with y'all?
Yeah.
Is that Earthgang too?
Like, no, that's a f***ing G.
And then when Cole came, he met us all.
He met us all at the same time.
Yeah, and he saw us all at the same time, yeah.
That's like some hip-hop outliers.
You ever heard of Welcome to Gladwell Outliers?
Nah.
Oh, y'all gotta read the outliers.
That's like some hip-hop outliers.
Like, all of y'all was in, like, the same place, same time, same vicinity, and the same thing happened?
Yeah.
Wow.
When we stuck together, though, that shit kind of happened when you, like, really stick with your ass, too, bro.
Like I said, we could have easily been like, all right, bro.
We got our come up.
We finna go.
Good luck living in this shit.
That's something about Atlanta, too.
You know what I'm saying?
Atlanta, like, the community.
Like, we trying to see everybody win.
You know what I'm saying?
If it love and respect, we trying to see you win, you know say if it love and respect
We're trying to see you win because we all win we all came rich
Yeah, that's a group
How many times are you guys if this if this is easy to think broke up or argument or got into a fight?
Oh, yeah, or we just always just been chill, you know, you know saying disagree about music sometimes
That's common. You know saying like I said, I'm I know him more than half my life at this point
Yeah, I was 13 we met you know when we met. I just turned 30.
We've been boys for a minute.
We're not the same people we was back then either, but we got the same essence.
It's like brothers.
You ain't never argued with your brother before.
You never argued with family.
Is that what I'm saying?
That's what it is.
We got a common goal in mind. We're going to get back to it.
During the pandemic,
how was y'all mental health tested?
What did y'all learn about yourselves during that moment that you didn't know before?
Surprise.
I got a chance to, like, really bet on myself.
You know what I'm saying?
I realized that I was that, you know what I'm saying?
Like, not just me being, but, like, for my family and for the people around me.
You know what I'm saying?
Because we'd be on the road.
And we used to think, okay, going out, being on the road is the way that we're doing this for my family and for the people around me you know i'm saying because we be on the road and we used to think we used to think okay going out being on the road is the way that we
doing this for our family we getting money we getting paid whatever we getting paid we're
gonna come back home but really being back home gave us a chance to really actually be there
answering the phone calls pulling up on people checking up on our little cousin you know i'm
saying substance abuse and stuff so like pulling up on them seeing what's good with them and then still making music and having our family see like man they still here
like they making this music but they still present in our lives and it just really showed us like
we are heads of the household you know i'm saying like we leaders of our family and i think
that pressure was crazy leaders of our community yeah at least our family community that pressure
was crazy but knowing that you got
a purpose and you got people behind you you know i'm saying like you got community to help you with
your mental health issues they got you got people to call on when you're not feeling well or people
to check you when you when you when you off your path you know i'm saying like that was beautiful
being home and really cementing the roots again i feel like even with like homelessness and things
like that like those are just a product of not having community
You know I'm saying like when you got community around you it's easier to deal with these things
So you're gonna land it now with some of these young is now because I mean you watch Atlanta and you see like
Shootings on the rise. It's crazy. Call break is why
The car break has been a thing in the line of bourbon for actually generations
It's been like a thing.
You get your shit done in Atlanta.
AJ put the metal detectors at Lenox.
You know what I'm saying?
That's crazy.
I went to Lenox, that's the thing.
I had the table pissed off.
I don't even take my kid out there no more.
I'm just like, bro.
I feel like it's just a product of, you know, people, basically people moving to Atlanta
who really don't know the code.
Like, in Atlanta, the code is like, you leave that in the back back back in the
hood you know i'm saying like if you got a problem with somebody y'all deal with that on yourself we
don't want no innocent bystanders getting hit you got a problem with them you pull up on their
they pull up on yours and y'all handle that but like don't take that out here where the people
are innocent people like that's not cool that's not cool that's not that's not the code and and
that's just like i said like that's that that's something that Atlanta really just, we live by that, you know?
But also, I would say, like, the meditators ain't come up until the pandemic hit.
So, that means we the only, like, we won a few cities.
Everybody know open.
Everybody come down.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Now we need this.
You know what I'm saying?
It's always been like that in Atlanta.
Even, like, when Hurricane Katrina hit and people started coming from all the time.
We coming.
We coming.
We coming.
We coming.
We coming. We was there to see that shit happen. The fights in school went crazy.
Like, New Orleans just came
through and it was just like so many people, so many
different people. But like, that's the beauty
of Atlanta though. People come there because they know it's the
black man because they know it's black people there and they know
it's somebody that they know there.
They're going to be able to make some money
or they're going to be able to be taken care of. They're going to take care of
somebody else. So they flock to Atlanta.
But it's just when you come down there, make sure you come down there with the right energy, man.
All right, well, let's get into Earthgang's newest joint.
This one features Wale, and it's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
That was Options by Earthgang featuring Wale.
They're in the building.
Charlamagne?
Y'all got compared to OutKast a couple years ago on Twitter.
And they said that Earthgang is like OutKast A couple years ago on Twitter And they said that
Earthgang is like
OutKast with two Andres
Explain to the people
Why that's a compliment
And an insult
It's both
I feel like
Being compared to OutKast
Is fine
Whoever compared to them
Being compared to Kobe
Is fine
Being compared to Mike
Is fine
Being compared to LeBron
Is crazy
If you compare it to a goat
That's fine
It's an insult because
Just like Andre matters Big boy matters You know what I'm saying If you really listen to A lot of the crucial If you compare it to a goat, that's fine. That's fine. It's an insult because just like Andre matters,
Big Boy matters.
You know what I'm saying?
That's right.
If you really listen to a lot of the crucial,
if you really know OutKast,
then you need to just hop on on Speak About Love Below.
Yeah, then you know the record.
Yeah, you know the record.
You know how Big Boy was coming on Southern Player List.
You know how he was coming on ATL.
You know how he was coming on ATL.
You felt that anchor, though.
You know what I'm saying?
In a lot of records, he was that anchor for 3,000
to be able to do the spread of wings and do what he wanted to do. You know what I'm saying? And vice versa. You know what I'm saying? And a lot of records, he was that anchor for 3,000 to be able to do, to spread his wings and do what he wanted to do, you know what I'm saying?
And vice versa, you know what I'm saying?
Like a lot of times, Big Bo just get out with like the production
and you could just hear, oh, he trying something new right here.
So it's like, it's just disrespectful to not really, you know what I'm saying,
pay respect to both people.
Absolutely.
Have they tried to pit y'all against each other yet?
Or it's still too early?
Not against each other.
I think it's too early for that.
But I will say we met both on several occasions a couple times.
We met, Big had us come to the studio.
We had us put the stank on him.
Yeah, like before the pandemic hit.
Like we was in stank on him.
He put a real OG move.
I really appreciate it.
And we met Dre up here at, what it was?
SOB's.
Yeah, like a long time ago we had a show up here drake was outside what's
crazy about that show it was a little baby show bro so early for us kodak also performed
sabra performed it was like a bunch of people who nobody none of us was on nowhere yet and 3000 was
just in the crowd wow he came to just watch yeah wow and then uh we made it we ran to that one
time he was in germany with cole well forgot. I forgot we ran into that man.
We ran into this 3,000 at the Chinese food spot.
He was eating in Germany, bro.
In Cologne, Germany.
Just random as hell, bro.
We was looking for some food.
And then somebody came out of the restaurant.
We were like, yo, I guess they seen the only other black in Germany.
We were like, yo, 3,000.
3,000 people still.
All right, we're going to go in there and say what's up.
We interrupt that lunch.
Do they give y'all free game free jewelry
big boy yeah yeah but a lot of times it's just it's it's to let us know that we on the right
path you know what i'm saying like keep going like bro like cee-lo has been has been doing a good job
of that like he reached out on some movies over in new zealand for the uh you know for for this
past little part of the pandemic for we were in new zealand 15th, had a show out there in New Year's.
So we had to quarantine for two weeks in New Zealand.
But while we in the lockdown, you know, we watching.
Word got out that we was down and like folks just started calling in.
CeeLo calling in, Turbo calling in.
We're like, man, we appreciate what y'all doing for the city.
Flying a flag.
Talk about that travel.
I heard y'all mentioning on NILA that y'all flew out there and y'all had to sit in the hotel 14 days.
Yeah, 14 days.
You couldn't go outside,
but you couldn't leave the premises.
Like, they had it fenced in.
You know what I'm saying?
We was in Martha Stewart's jail.
I was telling folks.
Every other day,
it's a no swap.
Little Martha Stewart's jail.
Like, you go outside and work out,
but we gone for hours.
And they watching you,
and they got military on every hallway.
They got disobeyed every other day.
It took my blood one time.
But I'm saying, though, we got a chance to go outside after that. They got military on every hallway. They got the suaves every other day. It took my blood one time.
But I'm saying, though, we got a chance to go outside after that.
Like, New Year's Eve was like Times Square.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, it was packed.
People was outside.
It was beautiful to be in that capacity, just human beings, just living in the joint life.
So, you know what I'm saying?
You do it right.
You get to reap the benefits.
I think I read somewhere y'all was still touring during the pandemic, though, right?
That was it. That was it.
That was it.
Okay.
We did about three festivals
out there.
How many people
at the festivals?
Are they quarantined?
15,000.
Nah, it's not.
We outside.
We outside.
No masks.
No name.
The Pasolena outside.
Yeah, we outside.
They did it right though.
We just kind of
f***ed up.
In New Zealand,
they got them. New Zealand They got them
New Zealand shut down
The borders like
Like March
April
They shut down
Nobody could even
Come to their country
So they down
To like minimal cases
They got least cases
In the world
And the way it is
Even if you from
Even if you a citizen
You coming back
You gotta do a mandatory
Two week quarantine
In their facility too
You can't just go home
I'm still out
You gotta go where they put you
Government facility
Really Yeah On the Spill Legion project Y'all got a few songs In their facility too You can't just go home I'm still out You gotta go where they put you Government facility Really
Yeah
On this religion project
Y'all got a few songs
Named after like gods
And goddesses
Like Oshun
Hoppy
Yeah
What's the significance of that
We just want
Yeah
Good marketing my man
You said we gonna dive
In here first
And we wanted to show love
To the different cultures
Of the people who listen
To our music
You know what I'm saying
We Earth Gang
We are black people
We from Southwest Atlanta
But we know
Everybody don't look like us
But it's a connecting thread
Through all of that
You know what I'm saying
That allow us to be able
To go over there and perform
We perform in India bro
Like I never thought
I'd be doing a show
In India
We did a show in Pune, India
Like that's crazy
So we gonna show love to them
Just like we gonna show love
To the folks in Africa
Just like we gonna show love to the folks in Africa.
Just like we're going to show love to the people in Atlanta, you know?
What's your favorite place
you done traveled and performed?
South Africa.
All the time.
South Africa.
It's lit.
It's lit.
Joe Bird.
Cape Town.
It's lit.
They're the most beautiful women
in the world.
Some of the most beautiful women
I've ever been blessed to be around.
You know what I'm saying?
And we would love to,
like, as soon as it's over,
we're going to go back outside.
We're going back to Africa.
I've been there three times a year, man, and I'm mad. Why you stop? We can't. I mean, as soon as it's over, we're going to go back outside. We're going back. I've been there three times a year,
man,
and I'm mad.
Why you stop?
We can't.
I mean,
we can't go there.
That's the only reason I feel you.
But I love it,
man.
Now,
Joe Berg make you upset.
Like,
I mean,
I'm married,
happily married.
You know what I'm saying?
But it's just like,
God damn,
could I have just,
could I have been a whore at,
you know what I'm saying?
Could I have been in the National?
Just Joe Berg.
No,
it make you mad.
You wasted being a whore,
like,
in the hood.
Yeah, you whole like in the
How do you feel to be named on President Obama's playlist That's fine
but that's crazy come as is why cuz my little nephews the little boys are singing on the track and it's like
It's crazy giving them opportunity to go brag about that at school school Like why you don't know what I do, you know, and I'm check me out check the tape, you know, I'm saying so it's five to
Get all that energy and bring it back home like that's really
What did your parents think right I don't know if y'all first generation rappers
yeah
no my mom went to college
ah yeah my mom went to college
I was too but
I was the first generation
but what did they think
when they you know
you went to college
they drove y'all up
they put money in your
bank every week
my mama was mad as hell
my mama still mad
y'all decided to rap
I told my mama last week
she was like
so when you gonna get you
something with some benefits
something some way when you gonna get you something with some benefits?
We gonna get you something with some found. I'm like, mama, you don't really see what I'm doing. I took you to Soul
Train, mama. I flew you out.
I flew you out. Put you in a hotel.
Mama, you still don't really see what's going on.
You know what I'm saying? What's crazy is my mama low-key
always encouraged this s***. Even though
I went to college, I can say my mama
put me in talent shows in second grade
rapping. She always was kind of like,
she f***ed with it. And to know that you did that,
she probably do want me to give something with a little more
sense to it, but you kind of
started it. That's wild though, they're parents
from Atlanta. But my dad, my daddy always
was with it though, you know what I'm saying?
He used to sing, he had a group.
My daddy was always, my daddy would tell you, he'd be like, man,
I believe in you, I trust you, I know you,
you my son, so anything you put your mind to, you're going to succeed in it.
You know what I'm saying?
But you know, mamas be trying to share to their babies and make sure everything cool.
Like, mama, you got to let me go.
You got to have my side.
I'm going to go off Ergan.
She probably got an Ergan shit on right now.
She always wearing that shit.
Atlanta really is the greatest musical city ever, bro.
It's because it's the black people.
So many black people.
It is.
Like, we out here.
I got to give a shout out to just the Midwest and total, though you got y'all gonna like Prince and Kanye in the same
Way area
Like I didn't like like not just hip-hop
Mayfair used to come down Atlanta just to record
You know I'm saying this to be in that energy.
Like, to pull up.
High school talent shows in Atlanta be crazy, bro.
Like, I remember talent shows in middle school and high school being like,
yo, which one of us ain't going to make it, bro?
It was crazy.
And I think it's also because, like, we just not afraid to be us.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, that fear of insecurity is not there.
You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah. We insecurity is not there. You know what I'm saying?
Like, yeah, we just like, oh, he black too.
He black too.
It's not one way of being black in Atlanta.
You know what I'm saying?
And that was kind of crazy when we went to Hampton.
It was kind of like, black excellence looks like this.
It don't look like you country.
You country.
I don't know what y'all got going on, but y'all better shape up.
But like, we was like, bro, this is what we can't do nothing else.
You know what I'm saying? And if the album dropping album dropping I heard is dropping the same day as Cole yeah we
told people that yeah yeah we might be before coke I don't know when it's
dropping but I know if he dropped we're gonna be ready we're gonna try but if he
don't we still ready we probably drop before that. Y'all on that new Cole album? I don't know.
I ain't got something that sounds like Cole, bro.
I don't even know, bro.
Yeah.
What's the date for the ghetto guys?
We ain't got one.
Cole date.
I know this is a Cole date.
Cole date.
Ass Cole.
Ass Cole.
You think that's going to help or hurt?
I think it'll help.
I would never think it would hurt.
Can I say it?
Help what, bro?
What was the problem, bro?
Everything helped.
I'm about to say, that's just our community mind state
oh he outside
he outside too
I'm shopping over here
you should
hey go shop with my bro
over there too
just keep walking over there
see what he got
if Cole Alcelas is like
okay duh
if he don't
he's like okay
what you thought
what you thought
what's gonna happen bro
like what you really thought
what's gonna happen
like
I'm gonna drive to Alvins
same day as Kanye
just to show the boys
and man now like
why yeah
that's what Coleosey is.
That's right.
That's what he said.
So give me your Twitters and Instagrams.
Earth Gang.
Earth Gang.
Well, it's Earth Gang.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Listen up.
It's just in.
All the gossip.
Gossip.
The Rumor Report.
Gossip.
With Angela Yee.
It's The Rumor Report.
The Breakfast Club.
Whew.
Well, I hate to even have to report this, but Meek Mill and Tekashi had ran into each other outside of a place in Miami, Komodo.
And Meek was getting in his car to leave and Tekashi just popped up out of nowhere and the two of them went at it.
Now, here it is, the the best, you the best, I'll you up.
Why did Takashi yell out a Pooh Shiesty lyric?
I got my own fire.
Everybody thought that was very funny.
I guess he's a fan.
Now here is Takashi's perspective of their interaction.
That's a fact you and you with security and you with police.
Look that is a cop. We don't got with security. And you with police. Look, that is a cop.
We don't got no security.
I got my own fight on the security club.
You repeated it twice?
Yes, he did.
I've always disliked people like that.
The dudes who flex the most, who aren't ever going to do anything,
love to quote rap records when they flexing.
Trust me, I've heard many people say,
I'm a gat-toting, pistol-holding, and wearing on my damn street.
You don't want to be dead in the street, mouth full of blood, soul full of heat.
I heard a dude yell out one time,
my neck, my back, lick my poom-poom, and
my crack. Alright, I lied.
That didn't happen.
I was like, right here.
Only to you. Now, Meek Mill also
posted on social media, 6ix9ine waited
outside the club for me. They trying to get us.
The feds sent him to take me out. Had to spit on him, so he retreated. LOL, nine, waited outside the club for me. They trying to get us. The fed sent him to take me out, had to spit on him.
So he retreated, LOL.
He really waited outside the club for me.
I thought I was dreaming.
And since then they've been going back and forth
on social media.
Now, another person who jumped into the middle of all this
was WAC 100.
Now WAC feels like Meek should not have, I guess, retreated.
He said, if any man I got an issue with approached me in a threatening way, you will be attacked.
Your team against mine if that's the setup.
Either way, it's supposed to be smoke.
Fact, you got pulled up on.
Don't grab the camera.
Ball your fist up or grab the peacemaker.
And here is more from Wack.
Now, this little dude, the little rat dude, he minding his business.
And the rapper addresses him.
He's on Clubhouse addressing academics about why they supporting the rat.
Talking real greasy, like his song like that.
I don't want to hear that.
You just don't want to go back to jail.
Fuck all that. Then keep your motherfucking mouth that. F***ers don't want to go back to jail. F*** all that. Then keep
your motherf***ing mouth shut.
Don't address the rat.
If you're going to pick and choose
when it can't be on.
Man, the streets are too complicated. That tough guy
stuff too complicated. What you mean?
Let me tell you something. When you
have something to lose, that is not the time to
be trying to get into it. That does feel
like a setup. You tried to run up on me.
You wanted to get into an altercation.
And now I'm in trouble for nothing.
Well, yeah, I don't even know what people wanted Meek Mill to do in that situation.
Because 6ix9ine not even dealing with reality.
Like, it's all performance art.
As soon as a federal informant calls you a cop, you already know he's not dealing with reality.
Yeah, Meek Mill did what was right.
I mean, to back down and get the hell out of there.
Because you don't win.
You can't win.
If you beat them up, you lose.
If y'all get into an altercation, you with your peoples, you with your securities,
with his security, somebody gets shot, you lose.
You lose.
It's a lose-lose situation.
We're millionaires.
You're worth millions.
You do so much for prison reform and do all that other stuff.
You make music.
Leave that man alone.
He did what was right. What if Meek would have just started yelling
rap lyrics back to him? I used to pray for times like this
to shine like this. I'm not about to throw it
away for you.
Hold on, wait a minute!
Y'all thought I was finished?
Now, Meek then went on social media
and he posted some audio
of Wack. I guess they had a phone conversation
and he posted,
this is Wack talking behind his blood, homie me back to me when it's supposed to be smoke.
Never believe these old manipulators.
They really vagina and we'll have you crash to protect them.
It's sad.
You out here trying to mislead the youngins on the net.
You run up on me.
If you want to set an example, you buying your homie back out to ops while it's on.
You was excited from that nip situation.
I don't know how they let you rock in LA.
I think you are fed also.
Didn't you just get shot?
Didn't you just get shot?
Get off the net. LOL.
Whack 100 exposed. And we'll have
more in the next hour, but that is your rumor report.
Yeah, that's when I checked that. I'll be the first to tell you
I don't speak nigga like I used to because
all of this sounds foolish to me. Like I don't
I don't know what people
expected Meek Mill to do in this situation.
Yeah, I think they're trying Meek Mill and it's
not just Tekashi69. I see a lot of people
trying him and I hope he doesn't fall for the bait.
I hope he continues to do what he's doing,
continue to take care of his family, his kids.
But don't fall for the bait because it ain't nothing in jail but nothing.
And you don't want to lose everything.
Once those cameras is rolling, you know they're trying to set you up.
Yeah, it makes no sense.
I hope Meek's smarter than that.
But if they waited outside the station, he was like,
Charlamagne, you owe me.
Charlamagne had to drive to his knees.
Who said that now?
What happened now?
Nothing.
My neck, my back.
That's what she talked about.
You're talking about me.
I got armed security that illegally popped in.
That's just a fact to the matter.
Don't scare me.
As soon as I feel threatened, somebody's shooting.
I'm telling you that right now.
And it's armed legal security.
Okay?
It's a white man, black man sometime,
and ain't nobody going to change your name.
Can we get a positive Tuesday?
This is positive.
This is very positive.
Okay?
You just said you're going to give somebody a dirt dance,
and I ain't no street dude.
I am a tax-paying, law-abiding citizen,
and I protect myself as such.
All right.
Well, who are you giving your donkey to?
Somebody who ain't dealing with reality either. A young lady named Kalina Collier. She needs to come to the front of the congregation. Would you like to have a word with her, please. All right, well, who are you giving your donkey to? Somebody who ain't dealing with reality either.
A young lady named Kalina Kaliash.
You need to come to the front of the congregation.
We'd like to have a word with her, please.
All right, we'll get into that next.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Is your country falling apart?
Feeling tired?
Depressed?
A little bit revolutionary?
Consider this.
Start your own country.
I planted the flag.
I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There's 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it.
I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
I am the Queen of Ladonia.
I'm Jackson I, King of Kaperburg.
I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition.
Why can't I trade my own country?
My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong?
No country willingly gives up their territory.
I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
Bullets.
We need help!
We still have the off-road portion to go.
Listen to Escape from Zakistan.
And we're losing daylight fast.
That's Escape from Z-A-Q-istan
on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

with the Story Pirates and John Glickman called Historical Records.
It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right.
A podcast for all ages. One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th. I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nim podcast for kids and families called Historical Records.
Historical Records brings history to life through hip-hop.
This gonna be a donkey, because right now you want some real donkeys.
It's time for Donkey of the Day.
So if you ever feel I need to be a donkey, man, hit me with the heel.
Did she get donkey today, please tell me. Absolutely.
I have become donkey of the day.
It's a breakfast club, bitches.
You're a donkey.
Donkey of the Day for Tuesday, February 16th Goes to a young lady named Kalina Collier.
Okay, Kalina is a flight attendant on my favorite airline, JetBlue.
Dropping clues, bonds for JetBlue.
I am a proud Mosaic member of JetBlue.
There's absolutely nothing better in my personal opinion than having a mint seat to fly across the country.
I love it.
So I hate that JetBlue is even attached to this story.
But Kalina Collier had some of social media
in an uproar this weekend.
I had a couple of friends send me this story
asking had I heard about it
because people were claiming
that Kalina Collier had been kidnapped
or was being held against her will in Jamaica.
Well, where did people get that from?
From what I saw this weekend,
it was kind of implied by Kalina herself.
She posted videos from the resort seeming like she was in distress.
Can we play some of that, please, Dramos?
Of course I'm suing.
This man, my mom called this man who just came to my door.
She called him from 12, 1 o'clock this afternoon.
It is now going on 7 p.m.
And I'm sure this man only came to this door because he sees that the cameras
are covered up. I'm here by myself. If my mother was not here, I don't know what the f*** would
happen. They gave me a letter on Monday stating that I am on a no-fly list and I am unfit to fly.
I'm unhealthy to fly. So me and my mother were going to try and make a run for it. So I'm pretty
much stuck here. They won't let me leave.
I mean, so naturally people were concerned, right?
When people started sending it to me, I did one Google search, just put her name in to see what came up.
All I saw was YouTube videos about her being kidnapped and tweets about her being kidnapped, being held against her will.
Honestly, once I saw it was just YouTube videos and tweets,
I just automatically didn't believe it.
I felt bad about not believing it,
but I'm that guy that doesn't believe majority of what I see online.
But don't blame me.
Okay, blame these digital D-heads online who made me this way, all right?
See, I've been around a while.
I've witnessed people manipulate those of us with smartphones before.
See, when I was growing up, I would hear adults in my life say,
a lie ain't to tell. Well, that couldn't be more true in this social media internet era.
Literally, people can go online and say anything, and we all know nobody cares about the truth when
the lie is more entertaining. A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is
putting on his shoes. Nowadays, the truth doesn't even bother putting on his shoes
most of the time because the truth is like for what these people gonna believe what they want
to believe anyway because if it wasn't for lies assumptions speculations and people's own personal
feelings about things what else would they discuss on social media facts truth that's not good grist
for the twitter mill and lo and behold i God for discernment, because according to authorities in Jamaica, it was all a lie, an untruth, a farce.
Why did Kalina Collier make this lie up? Let's go to Jamaica News today for the report, please.
The police have dismissed claims by an American flight attendant that she was kidnapped in Jamaica.
The JCF's Corporate Communications Unit described the claims by Kalina Kalia as false, baseless, and mischievous. In a social media post, Kalina Kalia said she
arrived in Jamaica with her two friends on January 28. And we were going to leave Monday, February 1st.
She said she did a COVID test here in Jamaica so she could use the results to re-enter the U.S.
She received a positive result and said she was
told she would have to quarantine for 14 days. I don't have COVID. Like, you know something in
your spirit, like when you know something is right or wrong. Like, I knew and I know to this second
that I do not have COVID. She alleged on social media that she was kidnapped and was being held
hostage at a local hotel. But in a statement today, the Jamaica constabulary force dismissed the claims.
When Ms. Collier made the claim on her social media account,
it led to calls by several of her followers for a boycott of Jamaica.
According to the police, the JetBlue employee tested positive for COVID-19
and was placed in isolation in keeping with Jamaica's prevention protocols.
The statement also said representatives from the Ministry of Health,
the Jamaica Tourist Board and the local police
have been in contact with Ms. Collier's mother,
who arrived in Jamaica after her daughter.
The police said they visited Ms. Collier yesterday
and noted that she was not at any time in danger.
Brad Dren.
Brad Dren, on a side note, I need all my news in Jamaican from that one.
Brad Dren.
You know what the problem is here?
This generation really doesn't like accountability.
This generation really doesn't want to deal with the consequences of any of their actions.
This young lady tested positive for COVID not once but twice.
So because of Jamaica's COVID-19 protocols, she was placed in isolation.
By the way, according to a story on JamaicanGleaner.com,
the hotel allowed her to stay at no cost for the quarantine period in a garden junior suite.
Her mother, who is Jamaican born, was accommodated on a complimentary basis for three nights out of goodwill faith.
She was offered a distress rate for the other 10 nights while Kalina was in quarantine. I have no idea why Kalina would make this lie up other than the fact she was upset she had to quarantine at all and wouldn't get the properly vacation.
That's not the resort's fault, though.
It's Donald Trump's.
But for whatever reason, she decided to create this story and fake a whole kidnapping.
A whole kidnapping, queen.
A whole kidnapping.
I don't even know why the human brain works in this manner.
Now you done got people's blood pressure up.
I'm sure people have canceled their reservations to this resort because they like, hell no, they kidnapping people there.
And that lie was started for what?
Listen, man, it's been a quarter past spooky time on social media, but it really has to be some serious consequences and repercussions that happen to people who get on social media and say any damn thing. Authorities are warning people to desist from
sharing social media posts claiming Collier has been kidnapped because doing so could constitute
an offense under the law. Well, what is the offense? Because I need to know because I got a
bunch of people I'm snitching on. Okay, he lying, she lying, they lying. I promise you in an effort
to dismantle the mechanism of lies and falsehood that exists on social media,
I will take the stand anywhere and point out everyone I personally know who is lying about things on social media,
especially when they're lying just to get a reaction out of people, just to get people outraged.
OK, the buck has to be knocked because of social media.
We live in a world of fantasy. So people are like, get that reality far away from me.
It's nice here in this fantasy land and fantasy is fine. I love it But when we do fantasy we must not lose sight of reality
Well, guess what when it comes to social media reality is rare dare. I say reality is not even rare. It's raw
It's not even cooked at all
You know why because all the devices folks use to cook food are being used to cook up bullshit.
And I don't care how much curry you put on
it. I don't care if you serve bullshit
with gravy, rice, and peas, and
plantains. It's still bullshit.
Please give Kalina Collier the sweet
sounds of the Hamilton's.
Oh, now you are the
donkey
of the day.
You are the donkey of the day. You are the
donkey
of the day.
Yee-haw.
Yee-haw.
All right.
Thank you for that donkey today.
Yes, ma'am.
Now let's open up the phone lines.
800-585-1051.
We're talking Meek Mill and Tekashi.
Now, we just reported the story
in your rumor report. And we were talking Tek Mill and Tekashi. Now, we just reported the story in your rumor report,
and we were talking Tekashi and Meek.
They ran into each other.
Meek was coming out of a restaurant, and Tekashi popped up on them.
Now, people are saying Meek Mill should have fought them.
They should have got to it.
They've been talking back and forth like crazy,
or should have Meek just kept it moving, left, and not even entertained them.
Let's play a quick audio of what went down.
That's a fact, you f***ing a**hole. And you were security. And you were police, a**hole. Look, that a**hole's a cop. entertained them let's play a quick audio of what went down not only the
push I feel like it's a lie you don't have your own fire in the club your
liars it's not no you don't it your own fire in the club. You're a liar, 6ix9ine. It's lying.
We're asking 805-851051.
What should Meek have done?
People are saying, oh, Meek should have pulled up on him.
Meek should have went back to Philly with it.
Or should Meek have kept it moving?
What did y'all want Meek? I really don't understand what y'all want Meek to do. I just keep thinking about the Chappelle show
when keeping it real goes wrong.
And how that used to always play out
on the Chappelle show when you try to keep it
too real and then you end up ruining your own life i think i think all the six nine security
should lose their license well we'll talk about it we'll talk about it 800-585-1051
it's the breakfast club come on the breakfast club
is your country falling apart feelingressed? A little bit revolutionary? Consider this. Start your own country.
I planted the flag. I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine. I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it.
I am King Ernest Emmanuel.
I am the Queen of Laudonia.
I'm Jackson I, King of Capraburg.
I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia.
Be part of a great colonial tradition.
I was making a racket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
Bullets.
We need help!
We need help!
We still have the off-road portion to go.

It's a family-friendly podcast. Yeah, you heard that right. A podcast for all ages.
One you can listen to and enjoy with your kids starting on September 27th.
I'm going to toss it over to the host of Historical Records, Nimany, to tell you all about it.
Make sure you check it out.
Hey, y'all. Nimany
here. I'm the host of a brand new
history podcast for kids and
families called Historical Records.
Historical Records brings
history to life through hip-hop.

I wouldn't give up my seat.
Nine months before Rosa,
it was called a moment.
Get the kids in your life excited about history

Because in order to make history,
you have to make some noise.
Listen to Historical Records

It's topic time.
Call 800-585-1051
to join in to the discussion
with The Breakfast Club.
Talk about it.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club. Talk about it. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are the Breakfast Club.
Now, if you just joined us, we're talking Meek Mill and Tekashi.
They got into a, I didn't want to say an altercation.
They got into a screaming match with each other the other day.
Meek was leaving a restaurant and Tekashi popped out, started screaming.
They started screaming.
Allegedly, Meek Mill spit on her.
Let's play an audio right fast.
That's the fact you
so we're asking 800-585-1051 i see some people saying mink should have turned up on him and
some people saying mink did what was right.
What do you guys think Meek should have done?
We'll start with you, Yee. What do you think?
I mean, I think he did the right thing.
You know, Tekashi's filming you.
And first of all, there was too many people around.
Nothing was happening to anybody.
So let's be clear. It wasn't just one person
attacking the other person.
Tekashi wasn't really trying to fight him or anything.
He was just trying to have a moment for social media.
And we know that he's an instigator and a troll.
So why would you fall into that?
The best thing you can do is keep it moving.
Too many positive things happening in your life
to let something like that affect you.
Yeah, I'm with you.
I think Meek needs to just leave him alone,
leave the whole situation alone.
You can't win this situation.
You're talking to a guy that is a known snitch,
so you can't hit him. You can't punch him. You can't fight him. You that is a known snitch. So you can't hit him.
You can't punch him.
You can't fight him.
You can't kick him.
I'm surprised you even spit on him.
I wouldn't have done nothing to that man.
I mean,
you see what he does?
There's security everywhere.
You see what he's about?
His security's there.
Your security's there.
I think I would have just leaned on my car and I would have probably just put
a,
like a fake little line there.
And I would have said,
I would have told my security,
Hey,
if any of them pass this line,
I feel my,
like my life is threatened. Do what you got to do it but i would i would have stayed far
away from that man what about you charlotte man yeah i don't know what meek should have done nor
do i know what y'all wanted me to do i do know that if someone from meek's crew had started
shooting and hurt someone in six nines crew and meek was back in jail this weekend y'all would
be online clowning meek right now so i think he did what he was supposed to do which is which is get up out of there you know i mean i think he handled the situation
correctly and i think all the six nine security should lose their license because security is
meant to keep stuff like that from happening security is not goons well not necessarily you
can't run up on someone with me because i tell you no you're right but he pays for the security
and if security is dumb enough to do it for him but that's why they should lose their license because they should know better they were like this guy's not a threat
you're approaching this person with your camera and you're yelling and screaming at this dude
calling him you know the p word and all types of other stuff like i think that security company
should lose his license for acting like that because once again security is supposed to be
security they're not there to be goons and i mean listen man you don't gain any points from you know
getting into an altercation with with six nine he's not even dealing with reality he's quoting
pooch heisty lyrics he said he said he don't need security he got his fire he got his fire in the
club so let's just say that's you don't know that's a pooch heisty lyric you gotta you got a
culturally clueless security guard with you that hears that threat oh he got a gun you know i mean
so then what if what if meek Security pulled out and, you know,
defended their client?
So I don't even know why 6ix9ine continues to play like this.
I've warned 6ix9ine before his behavior led him to jail.
There's only one other alternative now.
You know what I'm saying?
And that's death.
Let's go to the phone line.
Hello, who's this?
Yo, it's AB.
Now, what are your thoughts on the
Meek Mill Takashi
situation, bro?
I feel like, me
personally, I would
take the route that
Pac-100 said.
You feel me?
I'm a regular dude.
I'm not a rapper.
So, you know what I'm
saying?
I'm taking a different
route.
But as far as Takashi,
he is a rat.
Everything y'all say
he is, that's a fact.
But Meek, he's a
different dude.
So, like, if he's really a real dude, he wouldn't say raw. He would've been like, I's a fact. But me, he a different dude. So, like, if he really a real dude, he would have said it all.
He would have been like, I f*** this.
I mean, F this.
You feel me?
Like, I'm knocking my way.
I'll do what I got to do.
And then, you know, set an example, you know, for all the other raps.
But he should have took a different route.
Me personally, that's what I would have said if he was a real dude.
Well, listen, even though you're not a rapper and you're a regular dude,
and I put regular dude in air quotes as you said,
I still would call you stupid if you throw your life away for that guy.
You know what I mean?
As long as that dude ain't causing you no physical harm,
he ain't putting his hands on you, let him say whatever he wants to say.
You said what?
Yeah, but Meek always calls him out.
Tekashi never once said one thing about him until Meek said something.
So you real dude, you talking all this crazy about another man.
I get what you saying.
He has the same attitude when he pull up on you.
I get what you saying.
But listen, I don't speak like I used to.
The streets are too complicated.
So carry on.
All right.
Thank you, bro.
800-585-1051.
I can't tell him how to maneuver.
I ain't in the street.
I don't play by those rules.
We're asking Meek Mill. Tekashi, what should he have done in that situation?
Call us now.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
I ain't no way, man.
I like men.
I like men.
I like men.
I like men.
They can't all be in here with that.
Call me.
Add your opinion to The Breakfast Club topic.
Come on.
800-585-1051.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee,
Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now, if you just joined us,
we're talking about Meek Mill and Tekashi.
All right, well, if you missed it,
Tekashi and Meek Mill got into an altercation
over the weekend.
Let's play a clip.
That's a fact, you f***ing b***h!
Are you in security?
Are you in police, b***h?
Look, that b***h's a cop! What y'all trying to give me, l***y f***ing a**hole. Are you in security? Are you in police, a**hole? Look, that a**hole's a cop.
What y'all trying to give me lockup?
What y'all weirdos want to give me lockup?
Clown a**hole.
Why the f*** y'all even bring that clown over here?
What y'all f***ing, what y'all trying to give me in trouble?
Hello, who's this?
Yo, this is Gary from South Philly.
What up?
What up, bro?
We're asking, what should have Meek done?
I think he played it right.
You know what I'm saying?
We got, you know, everything is on social media.
We got, you know, a lot of, you know, people watching.
I think it could have been a setup.
It could have been not.
But I think what they should do is the next Mike Tyson fight,
they should put them on the scorecard and let them handle it like men.
You know what I mean?
Leave that street stuff alone because there's a lot of brothers out here
killing each other.
I think that's what they should do.
Instead of them getting paid for it, they should
contribute that money to a proper
cause, you know, meet
President Reform and Tekashi to get somebody
out of jail. Get that money
to somebody trying to get a pill to get out of jail.
That would be a great idea, but I'm telling you right now,
if Megan 6ix9ine got into a ring, they'd be hugging
halfway through the first round.
They'd be so tired and exhausted, they would be hugging each other like,
man, you want to go home?
You want to go home?
Hello, who's this?
Shannon, what's up?
How y'all doing?
Shannon, good morning.
What's up, Shannon?
Tekashi, what do you think?
What should Meek have done?
I think he did the right thing because he's still on paper.
I mean, he got locked up for just riding a motorcycle, basically.
Why would he feed into that?
And Takashi miserable.
I don't think Meek on papers no more.
Meek not on papers anymore.
Meek off probation and all that.
Oh, he's off?
Well, I still think he did the right thing.
With the money, you got to elevate.
Yeah, I'm with you.
I think he did the right thing.
Yeah.
And Takashi, he's a child.
And he's performing.
Like, you know the little boy is performing.
When a known federal informant runs up on you and tries to chastise you for running with cops,
that tells you everything you need to know, bruh.
Hello, who's this?
Hi, I'm Danielle.
Hey, Danielle.
We're asking, you know, what should Meek have done in that situation?
Okay, so I feel that he did the right thing by not
catching the bait to it. He's been
in so much trouble, unnecessary
trouble in the past for simple
stuff because of probation
and other stuff because of the
judge he had before. So he
was smart enough not to get himself
bait into that with Tekashi.
Yeah, I agree.
Tekashi really is a child.
He's running up on you quoting
rap lyrics, bro.
Come on, man.
He was smart
enough not to get into that. You know, he doesn't
need anything else.
Well, thank you. I think with
Meek too, and this is going to sound
so foul, right?
What? Where's Meek's ta-ta? I don't want Meek to have and this is going to sound so foul, right? What?
Where's Meek's ta-ta?
No, I don't want Meek to have a ta-ta.
I thought you were talking about his ta-tas.
I was like, what the?
I don't want Meek to have a ta-ta either.
The reason I say that is if Jay-Z was in that situation, right?
No, it wouldn't be.
At this point in the game, it wouldn't be ta-ta.
Back then, though.
Back then. It would be a nice, white, undercover security guard who can legally pop you.
Back then, who would have been?
I don't know.
I'm not putting that type of information out there.
Okay, I don't know who it would have been.
All right.
But what's the moral of the story?
You said something earlier, too.
What did you say?
You said Meek might get in a soul charge?
I said he could.
I mean, you spit on the guy.
Allegedly. Well, Meek said he spit on him. Yeah easy win for me if I'm meek's lawyer I would say six nine told my client this
is D so my clients spit on him as a warm-up okay listen man you got to say
what you have to say in the case what are you talking about because I mean
Tagashi can say you know you spit on, which is assault. So you're saying. If I'm the lawyer, the lawyer, hey, this man told my client to s**t his D.
My client did spit on him, but it was as a warm up to his request.
All right.
You got to say what you have to say to win a case.
What's wrong with you?
All right.
We got rumors on the way in.
Yeah.
Let's talk about since we talk're talking about fighting, Pac-Man
Jones. He was arrested
and he's explaining his side of the story about
a fight that went down at a bar. All right.
We'll get into that next. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
The
Breakfast Club.
This is The Rumor Report
with Angela Yee.
Rumor has it.
On The breakfast club.
Well, Pac-Man Jones, first people were talking about the situation.
He actually got arrested for beating a security guard unconscious at a nightclub in Cincinnati.
And according to reports, they said that he had issues with the security guard who was known for having a bad attitude.
Now, Pac-Man Jones has already done an interview.
And here's what he said on the Pat McAfee show.
The bouncer dude came in like everybody got to get the out of here.
At the time, I don't even hear the dude what he's saying because I'm talking to the DJ.
And when I turn around and he said he said hey y'all want to fight
that's when punches and chairs and personally i'm done fighting bro like unless somebody want
to pay me i'm cool with it i'll fight any celebrity 169 170 but man i got kids i got
so much other that i'm working on besides me being a mother in the club yeah so he's saying
it was like an issue between these different bouncers at clubs and they were trying to prove a point because the security got kicked out of another club the week before.
But he also wanted people to know that he was not drunk.
He said if he was, he would have been booked for that.
But he was not drunk at all.
I will say sometimes at these clubs and venues, security, they do take it a little too far and they are a little disrespectful sometimes.
And, you know, sometimes you meet somebody that's not going to take the disrespectful as your same size and put you on your ass.
I love being in the house. That's all I get from all of these conversations. The house is the spot, bruh.
Now, Justin Timberlake has apologized to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson way later, but he posted,
I've seen the messages, later, but he posted,
I've seen the messages, tags, comments, and concerns, and I want to respond.
I'm deeply sorry for the times in my life
where my actions contributed to the problem
where I spoke out of turn
or did not speak up for what was right.
I understand that I fell short in these moments
and in many others
and benefited from a system
that condones misogyny and racism.
I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears
and Janet Jackson, both individually, because I care for and respect these women, and racism. I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson,
both individually, because I care for and respect these women.
And I know I failed.
I also feel compelled to respond in part because everyone involved deserves
better.
And most importantly,
because this is a larger conversation that I wholeheartedly want to be part
of and grow from.
I wonder if Janet and Britney care because I don't too little too late.
Maybe Janet and Britney been waiting on that apology.
I wasn't, but Hey, who am I? I'm sure
Janet needed it 10 years ago
when all those endorsements were dropping. Longer than that.
And wouldn't let her do a lot.
Yes, man. We old.
Yeah, I don't know.
It was from 2004.
That's when that's who Bo was?
Yeah, still longer than 10.
and he you know he dated
Britney Spears from 1999 to
2002 what was he
apologizing for again
for who
what did he apologize for
because he spoke a lot
about the relationship of Britney Spears
and what went wrong I think publicly
they threw her under the bus and there's a documentary out now about Britney Spears and what went wrong. I think publicly they threw her under the bus
and there's a documentary
out now about Britney Spears
where all these things
have been revitalized
and he didn't treat her well.
And then with Janet Jackson
for not speaking up
on her behalf
when she was losing
all those opportunities
and he made jokes about it.
Oh, I stay out
of white people's business, man.
Janet Jackson's black.
I ain't talking about Janet.
Janet Jackson's black.
I'm riding for Janet.
But as far as Justin and Britney,
I don't know nothing about none of that. I don't know what's what.
But Janet got
done wrong. Maybe it's some
closure, you know, for both of them
as far as that time period
of like somebody who did not treat them well
and did not stand up for them and he's
being accountable for it. Who knows? But
yes, he apologized to them. He only
apologized because of the backlash that he was receiving on social
media. Let's be clear about that. Yeah, absolutely.
He should give her some money. All the money she lost,
that's what you should do. Make it nice.
All right. Now, let's
discuss this whole
situation with Moniece Slaughter. Now, she did an interview
on Live with Kendra G,
and she was talking about April Jones.
Who Moniece Slaughter is? Well, she's from Love & Hip Hop.
Okay. And she also has a child with Fizz what a movie slaughter is. Well, she's from Love and Hip Hop. Okay.
And she also has a child with Fizz.
Little Fizz from B2K.
But anyway, she did an interview with Kendra G.
And she talked about April Jones.
April Jones has a baby with Omarion.
And she also dated Little Fizz.
Allegedly dating Dr. Dre because she was spotted out with Dr. Dre the other day going out to dinner.
Here's what she had to say. So the person that asked me if April and Dre are together, yes, they are.
And it's been a while that they've been together.
So I've known for a while.
I was shocked that someone as established and refined as Dre would almost wipe her.
But what I'm not is a hater.
April is beautiful.
Her body's insane.
Salute to my sister, Kendra G. Kendra always getting some good stuff on that damn
Instagram live but I thought
Moniece and April, they not friends?
I guess not
it's a weird
it's a weird relationship
somebody as well and refined as Dre dating my friend
here was a straight savage
she did not say her friend
she did not call her her friend.
But here is now, just recently
Moniz posted that, I guess she's
saying that Dr. Dre, she's been getting some
phone calls. Listen to this.
You know what? I did
not want to believe that Dre was a woman
beater, but after the couple of
phone calls that I literally just
had, he's a woman beater.
Oh, it is. For sure.
How do they know Dre had people
calling, not April having people call her?
Well, I don't know who's calling her. And I don't
know what was said. So I can't tell you.
If Dr. Dre didn't call
her and threaten her personally, that's a wild
claim to make on somebody because you got a
call from someone who may or may not
be affiliated with Dr. Dre.
Well, we don't know what the call was. We don't know if she's saying Dr. Dre. Well, we don't know what the call was.
We don't know if she's saying Dr. Dre called it.
We don't know what happened.
So I'm sure she's going to tell it all.
It's a lot more audio.
I mean, that was just a clip they played, but it's a lot more.
All right.
Well, that is your rumor report.
All right.
Shout out to Revolt.
We'll see you tomorrow.
Everybody else, let's get to the mix.
It's The Breakfast Club.

It's Black History Month.
What are we doing today?
Today's Black History Month legend is none other than Janet Jackson.
Okay, Janet Jackson put out a classic body of work in 1986 called Control.
Control.
And last week, that album shot back to the top of the Apple charts
I think last week was the 35th anniversary of the Control album
I saw Questlove posting about it
I saw The Shade Room posting about it
I even had some group chat debates about
What was the better album musically
Control or Thriller?
Musically, I'm just talking music
Personally I think it's closer than folks think
But I want to take this time to salute the legend that is Janet Jackson.
And she took the time to thank her millions of fans last week herself as well.
The Breakfast Club presents a new Black History Month legend.
I was at home just the other day by myself and I began to cry.
I was crying because I was so thankful for all that
God has blessed me with, all that he has given me. And I'm so thankful for him being in my life.
And I'm so thankful for all of you being in my life. You're so special to me. And I want to
thank all of you for making control number one once again after 35 years.
I never, never in a million years, I would never think that this would happen.
I really appreciate you, and I love you so, so much.
Thank you.
And that was another new Black History Month legend, courtesy of The Breakfast Club.
Salute to Janet Jackson.
She also finally got an apology from Justin Timberlake.
I'm sure it was too little too late.
But if that's something she was waiting on, I'm glad she got it.
Let's salute Janet Jackson, a new Black History Month legend.
And who had the better album, Envy?
Janet Jackson with Control or Michael Jackson Thriller?
Michael with Thriller.
I don't know if that's such an easy one, bro.
I really don't. Thriller? Michael with Thriller. I don't know if that's such an easy one, bro. I really don't.
Thriller had 10 songs on it.
Janet Jackson had 10 songs on Control.
Control had some joints, man.
You talking about
What Have You Done For Me Lately?
The Pleasure Principle.
Nasty.
When I Think of You.
Let's Wait a While.
Funny How Time Flies.
That album had seven singles on it.
Beat It. Billie Jean. Wannabe Started Something. The Girl Is Mine. a while funny how time flies like the album had seven singles on it beat it billy jean wannabe started something the girl is mine human nature pretty young thing great album and thriller

Month legend, Miss Janet
Jackson.
Shout out to Janet Jackson. You know I DJ'd for her
when she went on tour. I did her little... You're a liar.
Her what? You're just going to tell a lie like that
for no reason? I did. I DJ'd her tour when she
went from station to station, city to city.
Her radio tour. I was the one DJing. I did her

every time. Yo, shut up, man.

The tip of the cap, there's another one gone.
Each episode is about a different,
inspiring figure from history,
like this one about Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in Alabama who refused to give up her seat on the city bus nine whole months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Check it.
And it began with me. Did you know, did you know? I wouldn't give up my seat nine months before Rosa. It was Claudette Colvin. Get the kids in your life excited about history by tuning in to Historical Records.
