By the time that 200% tariff would, in theory, be coming through, you know, his administration will not be in power anymore at that point. And Taylor Farms executives met at the White House just one day before a major lettuce recalled. Now lawmakers want to know exactly what happened behind closed doors. I don't think this is fully under control yet.

The medications millions of Americans rely on every day could eventually cost more under a new tariff plan from President Trump.

The president says imported just. generic drugs will remain tariff-free for the next two years while manufacturers have time to move production to the United States. After that, the tariffs would jump to 100% in 2028 and 200% in 29. Here is Naomi Creasy of Bloomberg Radio. The timing is interesting. Some analysts have noted that by the time the 200% tariff would in theory be coming through, you know, his administration will not be in power anymore at that point. And so it would really be up to the next administration. We have seen some commentators suggesting that this would be rolled back potentially by another

administration. It is, you know, there are many challenges associated with this for the generic drug industry, partly just because, you know, unlike makers of branded drugs, generic drug makers actually don't produce very much in the US. And that's because the U.S. is such a low-cost market for generic drugs. Nine out of every 10 prescriptions filled in the U.S. are generic drugs. That includes medications for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, infection, anxiety, and even depression. Today, many of those prescriptions cause patients just a few dollars a month because they're made overseas

where production is less expensive. President Trump says the tears are designed to encourage companies to manufacture those drugs in the United States instead. But health economists warn that if companies don't move production in time, those added costs of importing those medications could eventually show up at the pharmacy counter. Exactly how much consumers would pay is still unknown. And questions are growing today about what happened behind closed doors before the FDA announced a major lettuce recall.

New reporting shows executives from Taylor Farms met with the White House and FDA officials just one day before the agency announced the voluntary recall tied to the ongoing cyclosporia outbreak. Taylor Farms is one of the companies at the center of the investigation. Now Democrats on the House Oversight Committee want to know what was discussed during those meetings. Lawmakers are requesting records and communication between the company and the Trump administration to determine whether anyone attempted to influence the government's response. We do have the outbreak under control. We have done extensive forensics, epidemiological forensic, and we've identified the source of the outbreak. We and the companies that have involved have implemented a re-

The original recall covered shredded iceberg lettuce and market-side salads sold at Walmart, along with lettuce distributed to restaurants and other food service companies in 27 states. But even as federal officials said that outbreak was under control, the CDC is now investigating a separate cyclosporia outbreak in multiple states. Investigators have not yet identified the source of that new outbreak. Former FDA commissioner, Dr. Scott Gottlie, with more. I don't think this is fully under control yet. CDC really didn't seem to be as involved as the agency normally would be. We don't know what yet.

That led to a lot of fields probably getting contaminated. Some raw sewage got onto those fields, maybe was used in irrigation, probably also climate-related. The White House is pushing back, calling the allegations fake news and insisting public health decisions were not influenced. Lastly, if you missed your chance to see Jay-Z, you've got another shot. and another at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles as part of Ho's 30th anniversary run. The new London date is September 5th, while the added Los Angeles show is October 24th. Rock Nation says the concerts were added because of what it calls, quote, unprecedented demand. The anniversary tour celebrates 30 years of reasonable doubt, the album that launched Jay-Z's career and helped change hip-hop. The new shows follow three sold-out nights at New York's Yankee Stadium where fans saw surprise appearances from Beyonce, Rihanna, Farrell, Fat Joe, Swiss Beets, and, of course, Blue Ivy. Tickets for the newly added dates go on pre-sell Wednesday with the general public getting their chance on Thursday. And the celebration isn't ending with the tour.
