He's depriving even his own supporters of just a more nuanced understanding. And a black audio engineer says she heard something so disturbing while cleaning up the audio tied to the Nolan Xavier Wells case that she had to stop working. What I believed I was hearing became extremely difficult for me to process emotionally. And I needed to take a mental break.

And a Los Angeles judge says singer David will stand trial for the killing of a 14-year-old girl. She has held him to answer for first-degree murder with the special circumstances of lying in wage, doing this crime for financial gain and murdering a witness to an investigation. President Trump wants visitors to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History to think twice before they walk inside.

The president has signed an executive order directing the National Park Service to place temporary warning signs outside the museum. Those signs will tell visitors the exhibits contain inaccurate information and encourage them to read a White House report, release on July 4th. Trump argues the Smithsonian no longer represents American history as a shared story. Instead, he says it focuses too much on social justice and portrays America too negatively. On truth social, Trump wrote the museum spends too much time talking about how horrible the country is and slavery. This is the second time Trump has targeted the museum. Back in March, he signed another executive order directing Vice President J.D. Vance to work with Congress to cut funding for exhibits. The administration says undermine American values.

That order specifically mentioned the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The Congressional Black Caucus called the effort and attempt to rewrite history saying black history is American history. The Smithsonian declined to comment on the latest order. The museum system includes about two dozen museums that attract roughly 17 million visitors every year. And there's a new development in the Nolan Xavier Wells investigation. A black audio engineer has cleaned up the C-toe call made. on July 4th after the boat connected to Nolan's disappearance began having trouble on the water.

The original recording released by Mississippi officials was difficult to hear. So Janetta Brantley, founder of Audio Done Right, enhanced the recording using traditional audio tools. Brantley says she was trying to isolate the voices in the background when she heard something that shook her. She later released part of the enhanced audio and encouraged people to compare it with the original recording and decide for themselves what they hear. And so I'm going to let the audio play. The recording has since spread across social media and has been discussed by several outlets, including Nancy Grace.

So far, investigators have not commented on the enhanced audio or whether it changes anything in the the case. And finally, a Los Angeles judge has ruled that singer David, whose real name is David Burke, will stand trial in the killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The judge ruled prosecutors presented enough evidence to move forward with the case. Burke now faces charges of murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, an unlawful mutilization of human remains. He has pled not guilty and remains jailed without bail. Prosecutors say Celeste disappeared after Burke sent an Uber to pick her up at his Hollywood home on April 23rd, 2025. Investigators say her last text read,

Girlie Pop, I'm almost there. Open your door if you're home. Her phone went silent after that. Prosecutors alleged Burke stabbed Celeste after she threatened to expose their relationship, fearing it would destroy his rising music career. During the hearing, prosecutors presented DNA evidence they say links back. blood found in Burke's garage to Celeste. They also introduced records showing Burke purchased chainsaws and other items after her disappearance. Her dismembered remains were later found inside a Tesla registered to Burke after the vehicle was impounded. Prosecutors also allege

Burke met Celeste when she was 11 years old and began sexually abusing her when she was 13. It followed the timeline of the interactions between Celeste Revis Hernandez when she started as a 12-year-old, then a 13-year-old, then a 14-year-old who never got to see her 15th birthday. Because in the intervening time where she had these interactions with Mr. Burke, he engaged in this sexual conduct with a 13-year-old repeatedly over and over again. This came out in text messages that were presented, in videos and photographs that were presented to the judge that showed this sexual activity. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hutchman says prosecutors are still deciding

whether to seek the death penalty, meaning Burke is eligible for capital punishment if they ultimately pursue it and he's convicted. The one additional consideration is that Mr. Burke now is eligible for death penalty. The death penalty of considerations are now being weighed. Part of that consideration will be. be any submission that the defense wants to submit to the district attorney's office. It is something that we will consider on whether or not we will seek the death penalty. The defense argues there is no evidence Burke intended to kill Celeste. Burke is scheduled to be arraigned on August 31st,
