Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. I'm Amanda Knox, and in the new podcast, Doubt, the case of Lucy Letby, we unpack the story of an unimaginable tragedy that gripped the UK in 2023. But what if we didn't get the whole story? Evidence has been made to fit. The moment you look at the whole picture, the case collapsed. What if the truth was disguised by a story we chose to believe?
Starting point is 00:00:24 Oh my God, I think she might be innocent. Listen to Doubt, the case of Lucy Letby, on the IHeart Radio, app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Clayton Eckerd. In 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. But here's the thing. Bachelor fans hated him. If I could press a button and rewind it all I would. That's when his life took a disturbing turn. A one-night stand would end in a courtroom. The media is here. This case has gone viral.
Starting point is 00:00:55 The dating contract. Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. Listen to Love Trapped on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Ready for a different take on Formula One? Look no further than No Grip, a new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted series. Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets of F1, including the astrology of the current grid, the story of the sports most consequential driver strike,
Starting point is 00:01:26 and plenty of other mishapsed scandals and sagas that have made for. Formula One, a delightful, decadent, dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to No Grip on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, host of the on-purpose podcast. I'm joined by Luke Combs, award-winning country music artist, and one of the most authentic voices in music today. The guy that says he's always going to be there and that will do anything to be there is the only guy that's not there. No matter what, I'm going to prioritize my wife and my children. I dread the conversation with my son.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Listen to On Purpose with Jay Chetty on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm a homeguard that knows a little bit about everything and everybody. You know if you don't lie about that, right? Lauren came in hot. Hey, y'all, what's up? It's Lauren LaRosa, and this is the latest with Lauren LaRosa. This is your daily dig on all things, pop culture, entertainment news, and all of it. of the conversations that shake the room, baby.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Back on the grind. So let's check in behind the scenes of The Grind. We went to a Women's History Month event that IHeartMedia had yesterday, various panels and various performances. Two of the standout, because I knew the people on the panel, who was a panel with Thea Mitchum, who was our program director at Power 101, 51, just hilarious.
Starting point is 00:02:57 and a few of the other women voices at the station. They had an amazing conversation just about knowing your voice, finding your voice, and understanding that your voice is important. And then that was followed by a conversation with the one and only OG, Angie Martinez. And Angie Martinez was in combo with someone that I've talked about many of times here on the podcast, Ms. Bozuma St. John, of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, marketing genius marketer marketer to the biggest brands in the world some of them um and you know bozma has always been a person that is really really great at communication
Starting point is 00:03:39 and really really great at showing up as herself in various places so she talked a lot about what you know as a woman what she leans in on the most in order to do that i have just some inspirational words from the panel from the sit down with bozma st john and jingy martin that I wanted to play here. To kind of let you guys know what headspace I started my day in, let's take a little. But wherever your intuition is talking to you, we tend to downplay it. And so we ask people their opinion on whether or not we should take this or the job, whether we should date of that or the person, what we should wear to the party.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Like, stop doing that. Because when you do that, every time you do it, you continue to doubt yourself in your own voice. And we often know when we should pivot. Out of the relationship, out of the job, out of that friendship, oh, you know, like we know it, we just don't believe ourselves. And so then we don't, and we dim when we don't do that. And so it feels very much like an individual concept and idea. And a lot of times, I mean, now you're like, yes, you look at my resume and people feel like, oh my God, the strategy.
Starting point is 00:04:56 took to build it. But the truth is that nobody really was chairing me as I was making those civets. You know, the last corporate job I had, I was the Global Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix, right? And I had... That's a good title. It was a big job, y'all, okay? But when I was leaving, people told me I was afraid of you, right? Because I wanted to write my book, which a lot of publishers said that I should write the like, you know, how to get into the corner suite in heels book. How to climb the carpet ladder and heels. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:05:35 And the boss chick. And fun, life balance. Girl. I was like, but by the way, if I do write that book, don't tell people I said that, okay? But I decided not to write that book. I wanted to write a book about grief and about loss because I've been through so much of it. And I think what happens is that as you become bigger and bigger and bigger, in your leadership and your career, people sometimes think that, like, you got there
Starting point is 00:06:00 with some sort of ease. Right. You know, and I was just like, yo, I've been knocked down, hard. One thing Bozma going to do is just motivate you. Like, in real life, it's not even just about the words that she says because she's obviously really good at putting them things together. Putting them words together, baby. She is so good at it.
Starting point is 00:06:18 But it's a lot about, like, how she actually shows up as a person when we were doing the podcast from Ghana. I told you guys that we hung out with Bozma, me and my boyfriend went to Ghana for New Year's, and we hung out with Bozeman St. John and her family. And we experienced just such a great time and such an inspirational kickoff to the year of understanding how important we are to the world. And we shared some of that video and that audio. So you can go back and check that out on a later podcast episode. But that's how she, I mean, any space she's in, that's how she shows up.
Starting point is 00:06:53 So today, heading in on into things, if I'm checking in behind the scenes of the grind, I just feel very secure in what I have happening. And even in the things that I don't have right and don't have figured out, I just feel secure and I know what I need to do. Lauren just got to do it, which is a great place to be security and feeling secure. For me, you know, as we continue to celebrate women's history month, just speaking from the place of being a woman, not being a person, not being a media person, but being a woman who is day to day figuring it out being secure is so important because it just
Starting point is 00:07:28 puts you in the headspace to try things but to tackle things um to just you know create the plan and to execute that's what i mean it puts you in a great space of execution and that's what this year is about for me so loved last night's conversation was a great way to end a long work day now speaking of execution let's get on into the latest because baby it is some drama gone on in the Cardinal's household. Beyonce's dad, then said some things. Let's get into the later. All righty.
Starting point is 00:07:59 So we want to back you guys up a bit. So from a full interview of Matthew Knows, having a conversation about Destiny's Child because he is promoting a reimagined tribute tour that he is doing for Destiny's Child. A clip from an interview he did with Pix 11, an anchor named Candice Gibson from Pix 11 is going viral.
Starting point is 00:08:24 So late Monday night, page 6 posted this video, and it's like short. It's, I mean, I want to say all of like maybe two minutes long with it looped. So there's like 53 seconds of a moment where Matthew knows, it's asked about Ms. Tina knows, who is the mother of Beyonce. Matthew knows is the father of Beyonce. The Beyonce and Solange. And, um, y'all just. listen for yourself so take a listen to the clip that was put out on march the second you
Starting point is 00:08:57 burn your flowers and said the same thing to um it's Tina Knowles you guys put in the work and obviously the talent was there with your kids and your grandkids what work work does she go in um in the hair okay oh yeah you have the absolutely right in the styling the styling the styling imaging you're right um she claimed to a of preyed on the name, and different aspects of that. Sure. Sure. It's a joint effort.
Starting point is 00:09:34 We'll stop now. Sorry, did I say something wrong? No, no, no, no. No, no. All right. Thank you so much. Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Now, this clip began to circulate insanely on March 3rd. third. So 24 hours later, this clip begins to circulate insanely. And here we are talking about it today. Of course, the conversation around this is why was it an issue to be giving Ms. Tina Nose, Beyonce and Solange's mother, her flowers. The way that Mr. Matthew Nose responds to Kendis Gibson, who is a journalist in this interview, when asked the question, makes it feel like he was like trying to take away whatever credit should be given to miss tina knows and i mean she's biontie's mom she's salangie's mom like the world physically and literally would not have these two amazing beings if her body didn't carry them so of course this did not pick up well it is now all
Starting point is 00:10:42 over the place and being picked up all over the place um and we talked about on the breakfast club as well right and after we talked about it on the breakfast club um i it was bothering me i'm like why haven't i seen this interview in full kendis does full interviews uh for show that he has on pix 11 called kandit with kindis and what i like about picks 11 and what they're doing with kendis is there are local news outlet here in new york but on the entertainment front they're they're booking big talent as they should because they're local but they're in a big market. But he does these full on, you know, cross-subject interviews and they're always really, and he books talent that, I mean, it's hard to get.
Starting point is 00:11:32 He's had, he's interviewed almost every member of Destiny's Child at this point. He also interviewed Miss Tina Nose when her book dropped. He's interviewed Beyonce like back in the day. So he's almost become what I begin to realize even before this moment when I saw his interview with Kelly. And then when I saw his interview with Kelly Rowland and then prior to that, I remember he just interviewed with Ms. Tina. And then I knew that he talked to Michelle.
Starting point is 00:11:56 I'm like, oh, he's there safe space because, you know, the way that the, you know, protection is set up around the amazing, iconic woman of Destiny's Child. And as it should be, they're not just sitting down with a new body, right? So there were some questions here for me. I'm like, if they sat down, I know there was more. the interview and I realized that Pix 11 didn't post this clip themselves. So I'm digging and I see a full interview on YouTube. Honestly, I wish I had seen the full interview prior to us going on air.
Starting point is 00:12:31 But for some reason, because I only saw this clip and I didn't even see Candace himself post this interviewer post more from it, I just thought that there wasn't anything. I thought that this was like a teaser to something or whatever. But anyway, we're here now. So I've watched a full interview. and so when I talked about this previously on the Breakfast Club, I exclusively told you guys that Mr. Matthew knows, you know, in him ending this interview from what I was told,
Starting point is 00:12:57 I spoke to Candace Gibson, and I was told that this moment that has been amplified from this interview, which actually happened on January 30th. So this interview happened weeks ago. There was this one moment in the interview, which Pageix posted, where, yes, Mr. Matthew knows did get up and leave abruptly, and Candace says he was completely thrown off. he says he was completely thrown off because there was never like any here's what you're not allowed to ask
Starting point is 00:13:23 the conversation was about destiny's child because mr matthew knows is doing a destiny's child tribute and in talking about destiny's child you of course talk about biance it was around grammy time when they recorded this and she was up to break crazy records at the grimmies right so of course you talk about biance and in talking about biance you eventually have to get to the part where you talk about the creators of Beyonce, literally her parents, who we famously know. Now, in the Pacex article, you know, when this was originally published, Mr. Matthew Minow's, he told Pacex that Candace Gibson, the journalist in question here, had arrived. 15 minutes late to the sit down.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Mr. Matthew knows says that he asked, Candice asked multiple questions about Tina. Mr. Matthew knows says that he politely ended the interview. he shook his hand took a photograph and then he did there's another article that says mr matthew knows says that he had another interview to get to um kendis says that that was not true they later found out he just had he went and had lunch he just ended this abruptly right so i'm asking kendis i'm like well can you explain to me like what was the issue um and he and i watched the interview in full and from what was here unless it was edited because again this moment that sparked all this controversy was it was edited out right so
Starting point is 00:14:45 unless it was edited out, there's a 40, almost 40 minute interview on Pix 11's YouTube channel. Ms. Tina knows is not mentioned one time directly, like, at all. But again, I don't know what was edited, what was not, because this has been out since the 30th. And then I asked Kandis, I'm like, hey, were you or anybody at Pix 11 told that you were not allowed to ask about Ms.ina? He also said, no. Kendis, you know, who conducted this interview, said that he was very shocked. And you can hear it in the interview at the end of that clip where Mr. Matthew knows is obviously agitated. Let's take a listen to how it ended you.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Because you can hear Candice kind of caught off guard but trying to make sure he didn't do anything. We'll stop now. Sorry. Did I say something wrong? No, no, no, no. All right. Thank you so much. Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:15:41 All right. Thank you. Thank you. So Kendon says he was completely caught off guard. And in watching the full interview, I understand why he was caught off guard. Because if what Mr. Matthew knows is saying, like basically he's saying it started off bad so ended bad, Mr. Matthew knows that. I mean, listen, I know he's a pro.
Starting point is 00:15:59 He didn't create some of the best, most talented and professional beings on the world in the world. But you couldn't tell that there was anything that was agitated in the beginning of this interview throughout the interview. because they talk about so many things that are not just the messy stuff, right? Which is what I think is kind of being implied here by he kept asking questions about Miss Tina Knows who, you know, Mr. Matthew knows and Miss Tina Knows have not been together in some years now. Like they divorced in 2011. They were married for 31 years and Miss Tina Nose has talked about, you know,
Starting point is 00:16:33 kind of some of their like upsets and the alleged infidelity and her decision to leave him and all that stuff. But, and Kendis did that interview. He didn't even bring that into it from what we can see in the way. But there's a part of the interview. The newest tracks. Let's go. New music.
Starting point is 00:16:50 And the next big thing. Always on the new music first. Your first place to hear it all. Because you're going to like it, love to want to play it twice. I heart new music. Your digital station for brand new drops, fresh vines, and tomorrow's bangers. I think we need something new. Discover I heart new music.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Always fresh, always first. Stream now on the free IHard Radio app. In 2023, a story gripped the UK, evoking horror and disbelief. A nurse who should have been in charge of caring for tiny babies is now the most prolific child killer in modern British history. Everyone thought they knew how it ended. A verdict? A villain. A nurse named Lucy Letby. Lucy Letby has been found guilty. But what if we didn't get the whole?
Starting point is 00:17:43 whole story. The moment you look at the whole picture, the case collapses. I'm Amanda Knox, and in the new podcast, Doubt the case of Lucy Lettby, we follow the evidence and hear from the people that lived it, to ask what really happened when the world decided who Lucy Lettby was. No voicing of any skepticism or doubt. It'll cause so much harm at every single level of the British establishment of this is wrong.
Starting point is 00:18:10 Listen to Doubt, the case of Lucy Letby, on the IHeart Radio, app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Clayton Eckerd, and in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first Bachelor to ever have his final rows rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show made even bigger headlines.
Starting point is 00:18:40 It began as a one-night stand and ended. in a courtroom, with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. Please search for it. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before.
Starting point is 00:19:00 I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. This season, an epic battle of He Said She Said, and the search for accountability in a sea of lies. Listen to Love Trapped on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, host of the on-purpose podcast. I'm joined by Luke Combs, award-winning country music artist
Starting point is 00:19:31 and one of the most authentic voices in music today. Luke opens up about success, self-doubt, mental health, and what it really takes to stay true to who you are when your life changes overnight. I hate fame, I hate the word celebrity, I hate those words, they make me uncomfortable. But I think when you get to a certain point, the fame or the success or the influence,
Starting point is 00:19:52 it just accentuates and exacerbates the inherent person that you are. The guy that says he's always going to be there and that will do anything to be there is the only guy that's not there. I'm in Australia when Beau is born. My whole identity is that no matter what, I'm going to prioritize my wife and my children
Starting point is 00:20:11 over my job. I dread the conversation with my son. What do you think you'd say? Listen to On Purpose with Jay Chatee, on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Where they talk about Beyonce's Act 3, basically like the next round of music that Beyonce will be dropping. Because a lot of people think that it's going to be rock music.
Starting point is 00:20:37 So they asked about it. Candace asks about that. And they, I feel like this was like such a, like they're laughing, they're joking. Like, you can see the chemistry in the interview here. Let's take a look. Do you want Act 3 to be rock? What, no? Act 3 to be rock.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I want it to be whatever it be. I'll say it wants it to be. Okay. Yeah. Will it be rock? I don't know. We've gotten some hints. Will it be rock?
Starting point is 00:21:02 I don't know. Was that a tharp? Was she rock? What was her original mindset? Like when... I gave you a hit. It went right over your head. A dick.
Starting point is 00:21:12 What was it? I gave it. We were here that went right over his head. You said, Resetta. Thark. Ah. It went right over his head, because he's not listening. Oh.
Starting point is 00:21:26 I have to teach this young man out of the interview, man. I'm very... So rock it is. I don't know. Rosetta Tharp. If you have any other hints, I'm open. Stay open. Stay awake.
Starting point is 00:21:44 I'm just going to sit here, not say a word. word. I think that's where music comes in, because it brings collectives of people together. And I've seen Destiny's Child do that. I've seen Beyonce do that. I've seen Solange. Bring all shapes and colors together, one come and go, which is what this Destiny's Child iconic reimagined tribute is all about. And then they even get deep. Like, they talk about how Destiny's Child, like, they talk about how Destiny's Child, like, Their music and what they did in their movement literally saved people's lives. And Mr. Matthew Knows shares a story about how there was a girl who wrote fan mail to them back when people would actually write letters about how she almost killed herself and Survivor the song Saved her.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Let's take a listen to that. I remember years ago when we had fan club mail and I would read some of it. And I remember reading a letter from a woman in Pennsylvania. She had gotten in her bathtub, had a razor about to slit her wrist. And in the kitchen on her radio, Survivor came on. Wow. And it saved the life. We got a lot of letters on Survivor that actually saved people's lives.
Starting point is 00:23:07 And myself, six years ago, when I was diagnosed with cancer, and I was being rolled into the operating room. That was the song that was in my head. Wow. I'm a survivor. I'm going to make it. I'm not going to stop. I'm going to keep on surviving.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Wow. Who penned that song? Do you remember? Somebody named Beyonce Knows, Matthew Knows, and Anthony Dent. And was it born out of something that had happened? Yeah, it was a DJ, smart DJ in Houston on the radio talking about that being on Destiny Child is like being on the TV show Survivors. Who's going to get kicked off this week?
Starting point is 00:23:57 And me and Beyonce looked at each other and we said, that's a great idea. Literally, you guys looked at each other. You're in the car listening to this and you're like, okay, you know what? We're going to take that and we're going to write a song about it because I am a survivor. Yeah. We all are, hopefully. Yeah. And of course, you know, is there more Beyonce music coming? Is there more Destiny's Child with Beyonce music coming?
Starting point is 00:24:26 Like all of those things were talked about as well, his grandkids. And one of the things I learned in this interview was the fact that Destiny's Child, they've never missed a show, no matter how sick or anything, which, you know, goes to show that work ethic and Mr. Matthew knows, like the direct question was what is one thing we didn't know, which was interesting because I felt like people asked all the same
Starting point is 00:24:49 questions about Destiny Shout. So that was interested in here. But also remember when Blue Ivy was coming out on stage all of that time during the Renaissance tour? Mr. Matthew knows, of course, was there on some shows on some occasions and Candace asked him about
Starting point is 00:25:05 how did he feel? Like, what was his emotion when Blue Ivy came out? on stage and it was that whole handoff moment from Destiny's Child to Blue Ivy. Let's take it a little. And did it come across to you when they walked off stage and Blue walked on? Did you see the transition that the handoff that we all did? You haven't met Rumi. I can tell. I can tell this young man has not met Rumi. So wait, so we think Blue is.
Starting point is 00:25:39 the manager. What's Roomy then? You'll see. Two more years. Really? Roomy is Solange all over here. Not Roomy is the next Salange. Because Solange is a force. I love her. I love her whole being, her whole existence. Like, she is just,
Starting point is 00:25:59 I don't know, she's so unbothered, but like, it's like everything she does is so she takes her time. She's in her own space. She's moving in her own pace, her own motion. She's one of one. So to find out that Rooney, is very much baby salange and then you have Blue Ivy who is obviously baby Beyonce, right?
Starting point is 00:26:17 The newest tracks. Let's go. New music. And the next big thing. Always on the new music first. Your first place to hear it all. Because you're going to like it, love, who want to play it twice.
Starting point is 00:26:28 I'm playing now. I heart new music. Your digital station for brand new drops, fresh vines, and tomorrow's bangers. I think we need something new. Discover I heart new music. Always fresh, always first. Stream now on the free IHRRadio app.

Ready for a different take on Formula One? Look no further than no grip. A new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted series. Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets of F-1, including the astrology of the current grid.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Lewis Hamilton, Crapicorn Sun, Cancer Moon. Wouldn't you know it? Michael Schumacher is also a Capricorn Sun, Cancer Moon. the story of the sports most consequential driver's strike. We have one man who, upon hearing that he was going to be fired, freaked out, and apparently climbed out the window of the bathroom. And was Daniel Ricardo's illustrious F-1 career, a success story, a cautionary tale, or some combination of both?
Starting point is 00:29:33 He started getting all this attention, and he maybe started to think, I'm bigger than this, I'm better, and plenty of other mishaps, scandals, and sagas that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to No Grip on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Who knew? My point in even talking about these other moments in an interview and showing you guys
Starting point is 00:30:01 is that I don't know for sure if I believe, you know, Mr. Knowles when it comes to this. And that's in no disrespect, completely respective and everything he's done with the group. But if I'm reading a statement and you're talking about how the interview started off on a bad foot ended, so it ended on a bad foot as if there was a, you know, some sort of like disconnect that just made the energy bad. And then I'm seeing you guys laughing, joking, getting deep. Like, as a person that does interviews, I'm like, are you sure? Like, were we, are we watching the same interview you were in? And hopefully there was nothing else edited out because Candace has gone on record with me about this. And if one thing has been edited out
Starting point is 00:30:45 and that made it to the surfaces because kentis also too um let me know that like you know this is not something that he's losing sleepover but the network is definitely confused how that clip made it out because now it's overshadowing the actual interview itself um so hopefully nothing else is leaked right like if there were more tina questions if there were questions that were pointed in a wrong way about miss tina um that would have made him say okay we're done i'm over this you know if something if one thing it's already slipped something else might as well too so hopefully not it's because he's going on record but i don't know i the mr matthew knows the statement and when i'm watching it just it doesn't align so i'm still trying to figure out you know what was that like because i don't believe that he just wouldn't want her
Starting point is 00:31:32 to also receive flowers as well too i don't want to believe that only because i think you know for him to have been as successful as he's always talked about he was in investing in you know the corporate arena, somebody had to be with the babies and making sure the babies were in their best head space and physical space so that they could then go on to become Beyonce and Solange.
