You can scroll the headlines all day and still feel empty. I'm Ben Higgins and if you can

I'm a homegirl that knows a little bit about everything and everybody.
You know if you don't lie about that, right?
Lauren came in hot.
Hey, y'all, what's up?
It's Lauren Lerosa, and this is the latest with Lauren Lerosa.
This is your deli, take on all things, pop culture, entertainment news, and all of the conversations
that shake the room, baby.
Checking in behind the scenes of the grind.
Let's start there first.
I am exhausted today.
I did a photo shoot last night for the new Browngar grinding merch.
And I've been telling you guys that, you know,
if you were hearing the sound of my voice to take the code latest L-A-T-E-S-T
and go to Brongargrinding.com and get you 10% off of all of our new merch.
but I did a photo shoot for the merch last night
and then after the photo shoot
I still had to stay up and prepare a topic list
for the show
so baby girl didn't go to bed until about like
12, 31 o'clock and had to be up at like
4.15 and I am feeling it right now.
I am feeling it, but
Valentine's Day weekend is almost here
and it is a long weekend because we don't have
to work on Monday. Shout out to
the holiday, not our president, but the
holiday. Yeah, so
that's how I'm feeling but I'm pushing
through y'all like we are getting this done today because we are going to stay consistent period i'm
not missing a day so let's get on into the latest so i can get on into my bed so up first in the
latest um we've been talking a lot about the super bowl uh that went down last sunday um in february 8th
and the super bowl 60 was a big hit um so numbers came out today super bowl 60 averaged 127 million
viewers that tuned in to watch the Seahawks play the Patriots.
We know the Patriots did not win.
I'm not really the biggest football person, but I was bored by the game.
And I've heard football people say they were bored as well too, but I was bored.
I felt like there was nothing that like kept me on the edge of my seat.
I was just there for the bad bunny show, as I am every year for most of the halftime shows.
But normally I can kind of get into the game a bit.
I could not.
But 125 million people tuned in, so maybe 124 million did.
Now last year's Super Bowl, Super Bowl 59, which featured a halftime show.
show by Kendrick Lamar,
127.7 million
people tuned in.
Now, last year's show aired on Fox,
Fox DePortez, and Telemundo,
and it also streamed on 2B.
This year's show was on
NBC, Peacock, Telemundo,
NBC Sports, Digital, and NFL
Plus. Now, the conversation
that people are having is where does
Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime performance
rank in comparison to
last year's Kendrick Lamar's performance?
Because there are still some
people, you know, that feel like bad bunny should not have done the Super Bowl.
Now, in terms of ranking in comparison, according to the reports, and these are the live
viewership captures and the first day out captures, which are the numbers that are captured
by Nilsson.
And Nilsen has this new technology that they use.
It's called the Big Data Plus panel.
And that panel or that data intake system is a measurement mythology, which officially
rolled out in September and it provides, according to Nelson, it provides the most accurate TV
measurement to date. So they're saying that Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl performance had
100.33.3.5 million viewers. But Bad Bunny Super Bowl only averaged 128.2 million viewers between
815 and 8.30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. You know what's crazy? Thinking about the fact that
the Super Bowl is like the most sought after stage in entertainment and how big of a deal it is and how many
people tune in for it to only be like that little 15 minutes it's like impossible for anybody to
really get into all the things of their favorite artists artists they don't know whoever and it you
you only get it's only 15 minutes on stage bad bunny did all of that he changed scenes about 50 times
and 15 minutes but there was a dip from last year which are making people have the conversation
about, you know, because Bad Bunny did a primarily non-English-speaking set, which he was one of the first Latin artists to be able to do so.
Did the dip, the small dip in viewership come from the fact that people were very visually, like, vision, people were very adamant about, I'm not watching a Super Bowl.
I'm going to go either watch Turning Point USA's Super Bowl performance, which they did with Kid Rock, which, yeah.
I was going to say something.
I don't know if I could say it, though.
I feel like Turn to Point USA's, I feel like that second Super Bowl ceremony, I mean, I didn't go or I didn't watch it or anything, but just listening to it and some of the people involved.
It sounds like a KKK meeting.
I mean, yeah, so at that performance, you had Kid Rock and I tell the other people performing.
They honored and paid tribute to Charlie Kirk.
It was just a very much of a different audience.
on that side of things, but they had millions, like five million people tune in for that.
So Bad Bunny was, you know, he was competing, even though that is a smaller number compared
to what he did that night, those five million people still could have made up for something
that was lacking when it came to making people tune in to Bad Bunny.
And now here we are.
But I think Bad Bunny's performance, though, I think this conversation in the way that it's
talked about around him, it's kind of one of the way that he's kind of one of the way that he's,
of those things where if the
NFL is coming out and saying that they
want to strengthen their relationship with
the Latin community within their Latin
viewership space and then you have an
artist as big and as globally big
as Bad Bunny come and perform
and the
viewership dips a bit. It's like, well, they
told you from the jump that they didn't have the strongest
viewership in the space that
caters or feels like they're being catered
to directly by Bad Bunny.
So not only did they take a risk
investing in Bad Bunny
and platforming him, and I don't mean a bad risk.
I just think they kind of like,
even if it had not worked out where he beat Kendrick's numbers or whoever,
what came with Bad Bunny, the opportunity for people to learn and grow
and meet this new genre of music was like an investment on the NFL's part.

But let's not get Bad Bunny effed up, okay?
Because Bad Bunny is one of the biggest artists in the world.
His streaming goes crazy.
I saw that he broke Amazon records.
I saw that he broke NFL digital records.
Like, and when I say he broke records,
I don't mean like he got a new song coming out.
I mean like there were like four billion people
that engaged with content because of Bad Bunny.
The NFL is reporting that Bad Bunny,
that Bad Bunny records on social media.
Like their content that they posted around him,
um,
around his Super Bowl performance,
there are three videos that have become the most viewed NFL social media posts
in history and they are now um and they and those clips are bad bunny clips so he did crazy numbers across
social we knew the numbers thing was going to happen though um bad bunny was the most watched super bowl
in u.s spanish language history the super bowl 60 which is a super bowl that went down this year telecast
also became the most watched super bowl in u.s spanish language history averaging 3.3 million viewers on
telemundo across according to nilsen and bad bunny became the first Spanish language
Latin solo artist that headlined the Super Bowl halftime show.
I don't care what y'all say.
My Super Bowl performance could have been 0.5 less than Kendrick Lamar's.
All that history I just made.
Talk to me nice or not at all.
Seriously, like, who cares?
And then the stuff that he was able to do for other people, like I have a...
Yeah, bringing that little boy on.
Yes, the stores, the taco trucks.
That's Taylor made it, y'all.
Hey, y'all.
Sorry.
But yeah, but even, I mean, I have a little bit.
a friend, shout out to Ashley.
I have a friend
in L.A. who is a dancer
and she got the dance with Bad Bunny
on the Super Bowl. Like, even employing dancers
and production crew because
it was such a performance.
Like,
good for him.
Look, I know
if I was of Span's descent,
I would be so hype
like seeing that because
you can tell he was showing, he was
telling a story and
you know, just trying to
show pride to, you know, his people.
I also think, too, is like, okay, Puerto Rico is a part of America.
And I, in, clearly they forgot about that.
Right.
So I was going to say, people probably listening are like, duh, Lauren.
I'm like, no, you have to say that.
A lot of people don't still think that Puerto Rico is a part of America.
And I think because their culture and their history and, you know, their languages and, like,
there are so many different things that are different about Puerto Rico.
but there are places in the United States that you go to
and, I mean,
things are different everywhere.
And I think a lot of times with artists
that come from different genres and different backgrounds,
it takes forever or it takes such a big U.S. crossover
for them to be championed the way that they
ever, have never been here.
Like, think about J-Lo and Shakira.
And that's what I'm saying?
People forgot about that?
No, people didn't forget about it,
but they didn't speak majority Spanish.
Like he spoke Spanish his whole set.
Yeah, I guess so.
That's the difference.
And that's what I mean by like you have to cross over.
You have to get to a point where you're this big Latin artist,
but you can also speak, you know, to the American people as well.
Speak to the people in the U.S.
And Bad Bunny was like, I'm going to speak to y'all,
but y'all going to come meet me where I'm at.
Yeah.
I want to take y'all into what I care about.
Look, I'm not mad about it.
I'm not mad that all of it was Spanish.
I have no idea what he said, but I'm glad in the sense he did to piss them.
mom and I want them to keep pissing them off next year do what is just a k-pop like do all these different
like for real I want to hear k-pop gonna be crazy I don't even I like I know bad bunny because bad bunny
used to date kind of jane I don't know no k-pop but I have no damn idea about no damn k-pop I think
don't they do a lot of dances and stuff like that I feel like it'll be entertaining most singers are
dance that's not not true who I can't think of one right now even if the same
It's not like dancing all day long on your TikTok feed.
Most of them, yeah.
And Trey songs was dancing or singing.
He definitely wasn't a dancer.
I'm just saying.
Anyways.
That's true.
But basically, to sum this conversation up, like, leave Bad Bunny alone.
For real.
Like, I feel like he is one of the most unproblematic.
But Latin people and just Bad Bunny fans in general have been going so hard for Bad Bunny.
it made me rethink the way that I feel about
I've always felt like people that are barbs
that are like the die hard ones
are like a bit insane, a bit much
but now I kind of realize
like no you gotta go hard for your artist that you love
because people really be playing with them
like people really tried to talk about bad bunny
as if he was going to get up there
and just no one was going to care
I don't understand why they would think that
he just got em over the year
and wasn't he
the most
I might be making sense of something like that
streamed when he yeah if not the most streamed but one of the most streamed yeah but that's what i mean
though like and i think the only fan group i can think of that you're not going to be able to tell
them nothing about nobody regardless of what happens and i mean she got the accolades to back it up
it's the barbs i would love to me to barb and just like have a conversation about what does it
really mean to be loyal to the people that you love in music because i've never cared that much about
anything that doesn't directly affect me
to do a lot of what I'm saying people do.
Like you have legislators trying to pass law
because of the Super Bowl.
You have political activists
trying to call out other
like other activists
who aren't upset about this.
You have celebrity.
Kid Rock sitting down with Fox News.
I mean, Fox News also, they're like Barb's.
They think one thing and they just stick to it.
I don't know.

All right. And speaking of Super Bowl news, there's been a story circulating music artist little baby.
The NFL player named Keon White, he's a defensive lineman for the 49ers, the San Francisco 49ers.
So Keon was shot over or within the Super Bowl weekend at a party that he was throwing.
and the conversation has been like what happened to him
and there have been reports that little baby may have been involved
in an argument that led to the shooting now
police have not gone on record and named little baby at all
there was a reporter from a local outlet called the Standard
who said that there were eyewitnesses that you know
and he's saying that this was in a police report that he saw
but this police report has not been reported on reported on
from anywhere else but from the standard
and people quoting them.
But this reporter says that he
saw a police report.
The police report mentioned that
there was an argument
that ensued between two different groups of people.
So one crew was arguing with the other crew.
Now, police have went on record and said that they're
investigating and that whatever happens stem from an
argument between two different groups of people.
But the reporter is saying that this eyewitness
says that one of the crews involved
was Little Baby's crew allegedly, right?
And the issue was that
Little Baby, I guess, was trying to get into a party
that Keon White was throwing, and that wasn't successful.
And then at some point and somewhere,
our argument ensued and then a gun went off.
And Keon White was shot in the ankle
and then had to have ankle surgery after, you know,
being at a party at this nightclub
at a place called Delilah in San Francisco.
now officers say when they arrived to the scene they located keon he was suffering from the gunshot wound
they gave him aid and he has not been cooperative as far as like just having a conversation about
what happened to him he was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries
and then what they found out wasn't because of anything that keon said but it was because
of the investigation that they had police are still saying that the suspect is unknown
Now, I reached out to representatives for Little Baby.
I reached out to his publicist.
I've also reached out to his attorney.
Nothing back yet.
I have also reached out to the San Francisco Police Department multiple times.
I'm going to try again following this reporting.
I was trying to kind of like wait until police gave more about suspect information,
but they are so quiet on this that you don't really know what's happening.
now keon did make a statement from the hospital he's he's okay he says for those who know me y'all know this won't stop me from spreading peace and joy to the world full steam ahead i'm in great spirits and ready to make the most of this off season now keon was also in attendance at the super bowl
game and then they headed on over to the after party where things ensued unfortunately but he is okay so nothing we can do but kind of like stay posted and know that the story will develop and when it
does, I'll be back here with all the facts.
All right, y'all. So this has been
another episode of the latest with Lauren
La Rosa. I'm Lauren LaRosa, and at the
