Starting point is 00:04:27 You got to bring the car back. How long did you? It was. Like a week? They played like five times back to back, so I was gone for a long time. Okay. It wasn't days, though. They had broke the record.
Starting point is 00:04:37 I'm in the car test driving. Right. Man, if they ain't do too hard, I'm done with nothing. I forgot it was my car. But they put one out on your and arrested me from the airport. This is a story I read on All Hip Hop. They say Drow went to go buy weed. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:04:53 They said they were stopping you from having weed on you. No, no, no, no. They caught me at the airport. Okay. So you left the car and went to go do a show? Yeah. That's normal to you, Drow? I didn't know you couldn't do that. I'm from the Bankhead Court
Starting point is 00:05:07 Forgive me I was raised wrong My father wasn't there Your drug is crazy It was real Kat It was real What was your explanation When they arrested you? Man
Starting point is 00:05:18 Not guilty So you good? That's behind you now? That's behind Okay That ain't got nothing to do with my question, really. That was just one. That's where he's been.
Starting point is 00:05:28 He's been in jail for a while. No, you didn't do no time for that. I did like four horrible days. Man. Four days for that? Man, everybody's like, T.I. can't bond you out? I was like, no, I just have money. T.I. can bond you out?
Starting point is 00:05:40 Yeah. I got a little cake. Now I got a pie. That means that you got no money. Now I got a pie. That means you got no money. I got some crumpets. Do you feel like Grand Hustle could be doing more for you? I feel like God could do more for me.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Damn, bro. Yeah, God. You could be in church on Sunday. I ain't been putting no man. We been through this before. You feel like he could do more for you. I could do more for no man. We been through this before or nothing. Right. You feel like he could do more for you. I could do more for me.
Starting point is 00:06:08 You feel like you're getting your own way sometimes? Yeah. That's real. I could take the walk of shame. Walk of shame. You know what I'm saying? How many people can say that? Bring it on.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Now you got the new album, Reality Show. Yeah, so you can give me the show So I can make my own But I could I could imagine though Kept telling y'all To holler at me Don't be calling me Trying to edit and stuff
Starting point is 00:06:34 I got my own pilot Going on You know what I mean But I'm sure it would've been Easy for you to be on the show If you wanted to On a reality show Loving Hip Hop Atlanta
Starting point is 00:06:40 T.I. got a production company I mean well My story's complex My story's complex I wanted to get Overshowed by people You know what Ianta yeah i got a production company i mean well my story's complex my story's complex i wouldn't wanted to get overshadowed by people you know i got a real story you talk about crackhead dad's mom been shot five times you talk about me being shot wearing a colostomy bag and you know what i mean project the project project you know how manor jackson stayed with my grandma man bankhead it's history history history and i wouldn't want that to you know, how Manny Jackson stayed with my grandma in Bankhead. It's history, history, history.
Starting point is 00:07:05 And I wouldn't want that to, you know, be overshadowed by no toe licking. You might need a movie then. Yeah. Like some Snow on the Bluff type thing. So I'm going to just let it. I'm going to take time, you know what I'm saying, and let God do his work, you know. It's funny, though, because T.I. always said he wanted to give you a show. He was like, man, Drew is a walking show himself.
Starting point is 00:07:22 And then, you know, when you cut the cameras on and I'm not prepared mentally, it's hard one to crash on. You know what I mean? It's kind of... You seem like, you always seem camera ready though. Yeah, but it don't be planned.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I don't think so. You know what I mean? That's when you know the cameras on. But you know what, you got to get used to it. I think sometimes they start filming you
Starting point is 00:07:41 and you're not used to it at first, but then you kind of forget it's there after a little while. Yeah. So you got to just keep it going and then then you kind of forget it's there after a little while. Yeah. So you got to just keep it going and then after a while you forget it's there and then, dang.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I think, I'm waiting on, I'm not going to push the issue. You know what I mean? Yeah, I didn't want to see you like young Jock was one loving hip hop tied up in the bed
Starting point is 00:07:58 with his girl smearing chocolate all over his face. Lord have mercy. Well, my girl would have to be way finer than that. She did have on like some type of fishnet. I was just throwing that out there. I've been there with a real 10, bro.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Your toe ain't going to get licked unless you was just real bad. You know you on TV. Yeah, I know I'm on TV, man. You would do this. You know what I'm saying? The average guy would do this. Yeah. Now, do you miss, we're talking about
Starting point is 00:08:25 past relationships, do you miss Fantasia? Why you just said that? Because you said his girl would have to be fine. Yeah. Do you miss Fantasia? Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Really? Sight. Got it. Got it. Got it. What you mean, man? Y'all were dating for a long time. It was a long time ago. My ex was fine, but I painted another picture.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Oh, man. Not at all. It seemed like y'all was in love. You know how long ago that was? Oh, man. Man, I was crazy. I'm on my meds now. Nah, she cool, though.
Starting point is 00:09:04 I don't know what I'm thinking about. I'm going my meds now. Nah, she cool though. That's what I'm thinking about. The girl married. How much has Atlanta changed, man? Music scene, the reality TV's popping all over. Do you like the way it's portrayed now? No. Do you like the way your city's being represented? Hell no.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Damn. It ain't Atlanta. Yeah. I ain't got nothing to say about nobody. But that ain't what I see in Atlanta. And I'm in the street every day. And it ain't something I try to do. It's just where I'm bred and brought up.
Starting point is 00:09:33 It's hard for me to have a company around people that's, you know what I'm saying? Even though I know them, it's hard to kick around them. But I have to be in my streets. My family's still out there. You know what I'm saying? I got a big family. And it's hard to kick around them, but I have to be in my streets. And my family's still out there, you know what I'm saying? I got a big family. And it's hard to stay out around my family, so you might see me in every hood out there,
Starting point is 00:09:51 not because I'm out there lollygagging. I'm trying, I got like 30, my brothers and sisters, 18 of them. You know what I'm saying? My mama got 37 grandkids. So you gotta be out there. Deepak. I think the biggest representation of Atlanta right now is who?
Starting point is 00:10:08 Young Thug? I mean, musically. I mean, I was talking about the whole gamut, though, from reality TV to the music. Do you like the way the city's being represented musically? Oh, yeah. I like my boys. I like Thug.
Starting point is 00:10:22 I like my boy Kwan. Kwan's up here today. Yeah, YNAP. Luchi. These boys who got coming up, they come up on us. You know what I mean? So they come from St. Cloud, they be with us, nice to have me all the time. Pull up and get him, you know what I'm saying? Ask him to pull up and get him out of Cleveland.
Starting point is 00:10:39 You feel me? Great truck, shout out to Jay Cooling, you know what I mean? Had to take him to the studio. That music I ain't to J Cool, you know what I mean? Had to take to the studio. That music I ain't even heard of, you know what I mean? But you know, it just let you know that the street, you know what I mean? The A-West property, you apply yourself, you can do whatever you want to.
Starting point is 00:10:55 A lot of people seem like they're moving out to Atlanta to be successful in the music business. Everybody's like, Yeah, they been doing that for the past 20, 25 years. Yes, yeah, it's becoming like the LA of movies, you know what I mean? Yeah, movies. Tyler Perry got his studio out there. People filming out there.
Starting point is 00:11:09 All these reality shows. Tyler Perry crying. You don't want no real actors in there, you know what I'm saying? You don't want nobody use his studio. Tyler, we see you. Better let us in. Let my people go. I always wonder where the new era of Atlanta
Starting point is 00:11:26 get their style from. Because I ain't never used to see y'all in no dresses and leggings and all that stuff like that. I don't know where the dresses and leggings come from. You know what I mean? Yeah, I don't really want to talk about that. Because I don't know nobody who do that. Well, I do know a couple. I just don't say nothing to talk about that. Because I don't know nobody who would do that. Well, I do know a couple. I just don't say
Starting point is 00:11:48 nothing because we so cool. I mean, alright. You keep wearing that. I'm going to say something. One more word. One more word. It's like the 10th one. You're really my friend. Alright.
Starting point is 00:12:06 Left a dress on my house Alright this it What you wearing You left this over my house It was a rumor There was this boy in Atlanta Who was saying that you was his lover But then they Didn't say it wasn't true
Starting point is 00:12:24 Thank you Jesus Thank you Lord his lover, but didn't say it wasn't true. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord. That's your story that someone said it, not a true story that it happened. I didn't ask it. I don't know nothing about all that. Thank you, Jesus.
Starting point is 00:12:38 You're seeing it, though. Click on that for the word. It's just like clicking on the man with the pins like that. You clicked on that? You asked me, you hit enter? Nah, I didn't hit enter. Hell no.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Well, they said he's a known liar. Yeah, I don't know nothing about him. I rebuke you, Satan. Don't you credit me with that sodomy shit. I rebuke Satan. Hell yeah, man. I mean, man. Come on, man. Then you turn around and lie.
Starting point is 00:13:07 You going to hell for lying as you begin gay? You'll be a gay liar in hell. It's burn to die hell. We can come with the territory, though, man. When you a star. You know you done made it when you started hearing rumors. How hard is it to be faithful in a place in Atlanta? Because a lot of women I know who live out there are like,
Starting point is 00:13:31 it's difficult. There's not enough men for us. He said you cannot. You better be blind. I didn't see. I swear to God, I didn't know what I was doing. It's like 13 women and one guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I It's like 13 women and one guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:45 You know what I'm saying? 13 women and one guy. And all of them got booty shots. And all of them, you feel me? And then a lot of the guys are gay. So the straight ones definitely come up. No, you got to be honest. Now, we do live in gay TL.
Starting point is 00:13:57 You know what I'm saying? Gay TL. But you're going to see fine chicks in the morning. You know what I mean? You got to go find that crazy shit. But the fine bra is going to be everywhere. Now back to what she said earlier. What takes you so long?
Starting point is 00:14:12 Because every couple of years you cover a big record that's in the streets and then you just disappear. Everybody calls you. I think Lil Duval is the main one that says you're so underrated that people don't respect your true talent, true skills. Du my heavy heavy and I don't know I guess I'm put here for that reason what to make a song in this event you're talking about drool what do you mean I come from sports state I mean you drop this I mean? You drop this, okay, you drop that, drop that, drop that. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:14:47 Songs don't drop. You know what I mean? I got songs that y'all don't even know of that's been just dropped. I just give it out, give it out. That's what keeps me relevant in my backyard. So when one come out to just blow out the pot, he be like, boom, he was waiting on that. But the world be like, where you been?
Starting point is 00:15:06 But my city keep me afloat, though. I stay eating over there, you know what I mean? No problem over there. But I don't like to say that I disappear. You know what I mean? I wouldn't say that. FDB took me a long way. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:15:23 Longer than what was expected. And before that, the album took me a longer way. You know what I mean? Right. Longer than what was expected. And before that, the album took me a longer way. You know what I mean? That was the high times, right? No. Best Thing Smokin' 2. Oh, the first one. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:15:32 10 years smoke, man. You know what I mean? I was getting even 10 grand for all that time. You know what I mean? You know it'll be 10 years since that Best Thing Smokin' action? Yes, man. I'm still getting checks. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:15:43 So I don't know if it was designed like that, how it should go. You know, that second album was just, it was overlooked, you know. But the universe, they will line up, and all of this will be another conversation. One day we'll be talking about bigger things. I mean, I shall predict this and claim it. Wow. What does Drorow need?
Starting point is 00:16:07 Drow needs God. I ain't even laughing. Why are you laughing? That's real though. I told you I need a little attitude adjustment. You know what I mean? Attitude adjustment? Yes, I need that.
Starting point is 00:16:19 I need a little guidance. And God most of all. And, you know, I got a lot of potential. I need to push. Listen, you know you can correct anything if you're aware of it. So the fact that you know I need God, the fact that you know you may need an attitude adjustment lets me know at least you want to do the right thing.
Starting point is 00:16:33 I do. What was your biggest mistake? What was the thing where you said, damn, I F'd that up? I think I was like my, I was walking, I was an asshole. You know what I'm saying? I was getting some checks. You know what I'm saying? You know, I seen the check that made me say, oh, play. you know what I'm saying? I was getting some checks, you know what I'm saying? You know, I seen the check that made me say, oh, play. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:16:50 And be in the match, you know, giving up opportunities that Tip probably said, hey, look, go meet Dre. So they got the red carpet for you and Fantasia over here. I'd rather be with her. Wait, wait, wait. Do something. You know, I blew a lot of things out of L.A., living in L.A. That could have been very useful right now.
Starting point is 00:17:10 I see that happen to a lot of hood dudes, though, especially from Atlanta. They pop off, they get with a chick, they say the same thing kind of happened in the future, went out to L.A., you got to live the Hollywood life, lost yourself a little bit. Lost yourself. You go out there, but it be the power that you have.
Starting point is 00:17:25 You know what I'm saying? I heard people say some be the power that you have. You know what I'm saying? I heard people say some crazy stuff with their little money, you know what I mean? But they don't know about that talk, that diddy bop, they walk into celebrity life in Hollywood, you know what I'm saying? I done kicked it with Paula Abdul and Simon in the club and smoking cigarettes with Mr. Hamilton
Starting point is 00:17:43 and, you know, pink and all that. Kicking it. You know what I mean? But after that, you got to go to work. Right. You know what I mean? You can't just stay out there in L.A. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:17:53 Your child's mother accused you of being, like, addicted to drugs. Did you have any? Did she have any drug issues? Yeah. And she was one of them. What up, fine behind? We heard that, though, that you had some drug problems. and she was one of them what up behind behind we've heard that though that you had some
Starting point is 00:18:07 drug problems yeah I had drug problems in the past me and Tip actually went to rehab together you know
Starting point is 00:18:15 he'll come pick me up well he said bro you going I said I ain't going unless you go going in hand in hand because I created you
Starting point is 00:18:22 I'm just kidding which I was on. I remember one of my favorite lyrics is on a pill and a half with my partner Young Joe. Joe, fucking goody Bob, soul food number four. The amount of drugs that we obtained at that age was not to be as, it's just that serious
Starting point is 00:18:45 see how I just had it right nobody say shit I mean stuff but it was like we were having fun when we got to rehab we was like we ain't this kind you know what I'm saying see he get to it and then he can't recoup
Starting point is 00:19:02 in time enough to get up and do his NBC thing you know what I'm saying let's go get it let's go get help He get to it and then he can't recoup it in time enough to get up and do his NBC thing. You know what I'm saying? And then Tip was like, let's go get it. Let's go get help. And then I ain't going to mess with you if you don't do that. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:19:15 Did y'all both get straight? We both got straight. Okay. You know what I mean? You been straight ever since? No. Me? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:20 No. Did you have to stay at rehab like for 30 days or 60 days or you just was in and out like? No, I paid. I paid cash on my money. You know what I mean? My pocket. You could have made T.I. pay. He don't want to go. Nah, he was on a heavier thing. You know what I mean? I was showing him I'm willing. You know what I'm saying? So I paid cash and you know, completed it. You know what I mean? Got out. It was more than a month.
Starting point is 00:19:43 It was like six months, 12 months. What know what I mean? Got out. It was more than a month. It was like a six-month, 12-month thing. What got you back on? I mean, I still be dabbing. You know what I'm saying? I don't rock out like that like I usually rock out. You know what I mean? Because I got a house and kids. My daughters are allowed to come to me now.
Starting point is 00:19:58 You know what I mean? Right. Yeah, because last time you were here, you were saying you hadn't seen your daughter. Never. You know what I mean? And that was, I ain't going to blame it on that. But now't seen your daughter. Never. You know what I mean? And that was, I ain't going to blame it on that. But now they around, both of them.
Starting point is 00:20:09 You know what I mean? My oldest daughter got a key to my house so she can come in when she want to. And, you know, a lot of things I've done are not being done now. But you probably didn't even want to be around them when you was in that condition. That's right. Never was. You know what I'm saying? And now I can open my life up in a different way.
Starting point is 00:20:25 You know what I mean? That's interesting because if T.I. what I'm saying? And now I can open my life up in a different way. You know what I mean? That's interesting because if T.I. was a user and you was a user, they always tell you don't hang around users. So if you kept using, T.I. had to distance himself. Yeah, I mean, well, it wasn't that. You know what I mean? You're going to learn how to do it. It's called a controlled substance.
Starting point is 00:20:38 You know, if you can't control it, I don't want to be around you. You know what I mean? And, you know, you take over the pill, you take over the counter drug, Vicodin, all that, you know, Percocet, you know, there's hand acting no different.
Starting point is 00:20:49 You start abusing that, then you're a drug user too. You know what I mean? Mm-hmm. So, shout out to all my over-the-counter pill poppers. What's that?
Starting point is 00:20:58 What is that? With your geeked up ass. Why they had the cameras rolling for that? Watching you and T.I. get clean. I mean, that shit was,
Starting point is 00:21:08 that shit was sacred. It's like taking a shit. You know what I mean? We had to really be in there with people that said, yo, I did something so bad that I had to eat
Starting point is 00:21:15 Thanksgiving on the trash can that was covered in ants and I washed the ants off. We was like, I started crying. I was like, what the... I felt so bad.
Starting point is 00:21:32 You know what I'm saying? He tell me, like, we are not these people on TV. That was like touching to me. I was like, man. That man was like, I sold my grandmama this and that. And I'm like,
Starting point is 00:21:47 you stole your grandmama back in Cleveland? Oh, man. Man, we would have whooped your ass as a group at home. Don't do that. What was the craziest thing that you did? Nothing. What did you say in the meeting?
Starting point is 00:21:59 Well, I would say that I was in a ten-some with a chick, and then Mr. Flighty got sued for 50 grand. That was my way of being a high mess-up person. Oh, so yeah, they looked at y'all like y'all were crazy. We didn't have it. We didn't have it. You missed 50 grand?
Starting point is 00:22:15 Yeah, we on purpose, you know what I'm saying? Looking at these chicks, they ain't finna give us a coin. Yo, what you finna do? I'm finna make the flight, yo, bro, tell the boss I said F that B. You feel me? Just because we get high. And it was a poor mistake. Poor judgment. This is not the way you build a career.
Starting point is 00:22:32 And this is a problem that's going to be greater and greater. You keep feeding that monster. It's going to make you look real bad. You feel me? And it's a lot of black people that done that. You know what I mean? And I think the worst kind of users are rich users. Because you're allowed to buy it, so it's going to kill you.
Starting point is 00:22:49 You know what I mean? You ain't got to be no J out there, you know, give me something for $10. You ordering up bricks in the house, man, you finish dying in like a month. Yeah. You know what I mean? Fried chicken, a brick of dope.
Starting point is 00:23:00 You got a heart attack today, baby. You ain't never going to tell me you sniffed no brick of dope. I don't give a damn. A brick of dope? I mean, that's the recipe of dying. Got you, got you, got you, got you. A brick of dope? You talking about with the scorpion on it?
Starting point is 00:23:18 With the scorpion. Did you ever feel like you was the man at Grand Hustle? Like even though T.I. was the star, did you ever feel like you was on his level? Yeah, I felt like I got to out-rap everybody. Yeah. I knew that. Did that cause problems, friction maybe? Nope.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Don't respect that. We're not even going to talk about that. I'm going to come in, I'm going to tell you how I out-rapped you. From T.I.'s on down. Wes Hadley. Get in the box, baby. I love him to death. I mean, I'm a you, I rapped you. From T.I.'s on down. Wes Haddon, in the box baby. I love them to death. I'm a rapper bro. I mean, I will rap circles around you.
Starting point is 00:23:52 And this is gonna be real quiet and calm. You know what I mean? Nobody's gonna know this, there's not gonna be no peep deal. I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna lead. And that's gonna be my satisfaction. So what's the plan now? Now you have the single going, you got the album coming. What's the plan for Young Dro?
Starting point is 00:24:06 Feed my children with this money and get my life on together, Lord Jesus. I want to go on Caron. Nah, the plan is drop this album this summer, August 21st. Go on tour? Go on tour. You know what I mean? Do some new stuff. You have a tour plan?
Starting point is 00:24:23 We have a tour plan. Me and Alan talked about it yesterday. Run Black over at E1. Now, Allen is the person you signed to, right? Yeah. Now, they said he believed like no other. He believed. Like, listen, man.
Starting point is 00:24:32 When somebody can sit and tell you about yourself in your face, and they're older than you, and they got all this money, and have you just dazzled. You know, I'm like, yo, for real? You're leaving like that? Yeah, come on. Let me talk to you. Okay? Okay?
Starting point is 00:24:45 Right? Right? Right? Like, yeah. So it felt good talking to an elder person that liked me and was able to, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:53 talk to a guy that tried to buy Tupac's whole catalog. You know what I mean? I mean, he signed Gallant first, Jim Jones. Yeah, Jim Jones,
Starting point is 00:25:01 all that. I heard you don't get no money on the back end over there, though. I heard they give you money up front, but no matter how many records you sell, it's hard to get Jones, all that. He was there with me as well. I heard you don't get no money on the back end over there though. I heard they give you money up front, but no matter how many records you sell, it's hard to get your check after that.
Starting point is 00:25:08 Who? Kyle, you on. I can't experience that. I got my check over there. I got my check over there. Yeah. I was grandfathered in a contract that was hard to get out of.
Starting point is 00:25:20 From what, Grand Hustle or? It just was something happened. You know, just like how God works. My contract was different. I mean, you didn't get all that stuff, which I'm about to be out of in a second. But it was a nice position. Does Grand Hustle still eat all of you?
Starting point is 00:25:37 Oh, so in other words, no 360 deal. It wasn't. I was eating all that. But I didn't sell apparel and all that. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. They still eating all that but I didn't sell apparel and all that you know what I'm saying yeah they still eating off you yeah do you feel like sometimes
Starting point is 00:25:49 labels don't want to sign you unless you do a 360 deal and then if you're if you don't have one they don't work as hard for you because they're not getting money from other things it's a gift and a curse
Starting point is 00:25:57 they're going to promote the shit out of you if you do this 360 thing and the exposure you make and whatever you do with that shine is what you know what I'm saying you can do something with that shine is what, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:26:06 You can do something with that. You still can eat. You know what I mean? You just gotta learn how to split it up and you gotta prioritize. Instead of going out there buying Bentley's and rifles and stuff like that. You gotta put that money back into yourself with your own. You know what I mean? Right. Yeah. And quit pounding. Now you say you're shooting your own
Starting point is 00:26:21 parlor for a show, right? Yeah. Okay. Got my little college buddies in there, my little Clark Atlanta people. Is that a Christmas carol? I don't know. This ain't even my phone. What's it gonna be about? Just you? The reality of me, man,

The police looked. He was like, I really can't lock him up for that. He said, but he's banned off the property.
