Shout out to the Breakfast Club.
I love to see y'all every morning.
What you guys are doing right now is the hub culture.
The Breakfast Club is my morning sit.
I need it and I love it so much.
I feel like you're really not popping until you do the Breakfast Club. I've been waiting to come to y'all's show, man.
I know you got to be a big time celebrity to be up in here.
You got to be big time.
DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God.
The Breakfast Club, bitches.
Break the f*** out.
Good morning, USA.
Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo.
Yeah, he's here.
From the background. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. Yeah, he's here. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. From the background.
Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo.
Good morning, Angela Yee.
Good morning, DJ Envy.
Charlamagne Tha Guy.
Peace to the planet.
Guess what day it is.
Guess what day it is.
Pumpkin.
Now, he doesn't have his headphones on, so he won't be able to hear Angela Yee yet.
I'm putting them on right now.
Hold on.
But yesterday, I went to the Five Below store, right?
I don't know what that store is.
Five Below store, everything in the store is pretty much under $5.
Yeah, I see you got something off the clearance rack, clearly.
Yes, I did.
Look, first of all, I got these cool headphones.
They were on sale for $2.
I thought this was pretty cool.
What are those, fake Beats by Dre's?
Yeah, these are fake Beats by Dre.
I actually broke our producer's headphones, and I tried to give them to him, and he said no.
But I'm going to keep that.
Our producer has taste.
I bought some hula hoops.
The hula hoops were a dollar.
I brought them.
I'm going to bring them in for all of you guys tomorrow.
We're going to have a hula hoop contest up here.
Bro, if you want me to shake my hips, just throw on some music.
Oh, hula hoop is a good exercise.
Yes, hula hoop is a good exercise.
So I got some hula hoops.
I also got some iPhone cables and some Android cables for everybody up here.
Why are you telling us?
You're really excited.
Why are you so excited about this?
Why are you telling us about this?
Why are we here?
It's the Five Below store.
I thought it was pretty amazing.
And you know how much I spent?
I left, I only spent $26.
Well, congrats.
I was so excited.
You should have went to the 99 cent store.
They didn't have none of this stuff.
They didn't have headphones 99 cent.
So now we've graduated from the 99-cent store to Five Below
because nothing's 99 cents anymore?
Pretty much so.
Shout out to the, I don't even know who owns the Five Below stores
or who owns that chain, but I thought it was amazing.
They had everything, candy, juice, water, stuff for your pool.
If you got a pool, they had shovels, they had workout equipment.
They had everything there.
It's pretty amazing.
Let's see how long that stuff lasts you got, though.
Them headphones will probably last till Friday.
Okay, that jersey you got in your hand.
Why do you have that?
And I'm taking it down.
This is my Knicks Porzingis jersey.
I'm taking it down.
Oh, okay, okay.
I'm getting rid of it.
Yeah, so you're done with the Knicks.
And then Dirk sent me his jersey.
So I just put on a little Dirk's jersey up there.
So get rid of this Porzingis jersey.
No, congratulations, sir.
What did you do yesterday, Charlamagne?
I like a good discount.
I was actually, I was in Georgia all day yesterday.
Georgia?
Yeah, I was on the outskirts of Georgia eating a lot of terrible, amazing food.
You know what that terrible, amazing food is?
Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about.
Because yesterday was just a random Tuesday, man.
But, you know, somebody's auntie cooked some fried chicken and some mac and cheese
and some collard greens and some stuffing.
And I just had to do it.
And I'm farting it out all morning long.
Oh, boy.
So when you see me leave the room, it's because I'm going in the bathroom to fart because y'all know I don't fart in my clothes.
Yeah, and I don't want you flirting with me.
Now, yesterday was a big night on TV.
And I don't know if you guys seen it, but Bachelorette was on.
Hey, shut up.
The baits were on.
Now, Bachelorette was on. And if you missed it were on. Bachelorette was on, and if you missed
it, oh man, it was amazing
between, oh I can't use amazing,
it was fabulous between Jen and
Tyler, and she had to pick between one.
It's fabulous, I know you think it's fabulous.
Exactly what's wrong with the country. You worried about who's gonna be
the next Bachelor. We trying to figure out who's gonna be the next President.
Well, she picked one, but then she found out that
he was actually lying, that he had a girl back
home. It was a great show last night.
All right.
Okay.
Who wants to be the next Bachelorette?
Nobody else seen it?
No, the Democratic first night of the Democratic debates were on.
What was more interesting, Bachelorette or the debates?
I do not know, because the only thing I watched was the debates.
Right?
I have no idea.
Well, I'm actually in Detroit, and I went to the debate last night.
Really?
How was it?
It was longer than they said it would be. So this is my first time going to the debate last night. Really? How was it? It was longer
than they said it would be.
So this is my first time going to the debates
and so in order to get in, you have to get
there. They close the doors at 630
but the debate doesn't start until 8.
So you get there say around 6
and then you're basically there
until 11 o'clock at night. So it was a long night
but it's interesting energy to be in that
room. So shout out to Joaquin for making sure that happened for us.
The guy behind me fell asleep and he started snoring.
He should have watched Bachelorette.
He'd have been up the whole night.
It was very interesting.
Yeah, but you know,
the first whole part of the debate was about healthcare.
They debated about that.
I was just trying to go and see,
because the front runners for last night's debates
obviously were Elizabeth Warren and
Bernie Sanders.
And I think they came out clean. I thought they did great.
I enjoyed what Marianne Williamson had to say,
but I always enjoy Marianne Williamson because
I listen to Oprah's Super Soul conversations.
Just don't like her running for president, but I like to
hear her speak about, you know,
healing and such. Well, she was the most searched
name for last night, just so you know.
A lot of people were searching her name, Googling her.
She was number one as far as Googling.
So I guess a lot of people didn't know who she was and they were searching her name.
Well, let's talk about this again.
I think Poppy liked what she had to say.
Yeah, New York Times bestselling author.
She has a lot of great things to say about healing, especially when it comes to trauma
and just, you know, energy and all that good stuff.
Well, let's talk about it in front page news.
We got that coming up.
And what else we're talking about, Yee?
I mean, that's probably going to take up most of the time.
Okay.
We'll get into that next.
Keep it locked.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ, Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
We are the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Now, let's get into some front page news.
Where we start with Yee?
Well, last night was round two
of the debates for the Democrats.
Everybody's trying to figure out who is going to be
the nominee for the Democrats to run
for president. And this was a
big one because some people, you won't see their faces
again when it comes to running for president after this
debate. So let's talk about some
of the highlights for the night. And there were a lot, so we'll
get started with these. Elizabeth
Warren versus John Delaney.
Now, John Delaney was saying that candidates are too progressive when it comes to health care and to immigration.
They were talking about, quote, Medicare for all and about decriminalizing people trying to come here and to cross the border.
Here's what Elizabeth Warren had to say.
You know, I don't understand why anybody does all the trouble of running for president of the United States just to talk about what we really can't do and shouldn't fight for.
Our biggest problem in Washington is corruption. It is giant corporations that have taken our
government and that are holding it by the throat. And we need to have the courage to fight back against that.
And until we're ready to do that, it's just more of the same.
Well, I'm ready to get in this fight.
I'm ready to win this.
I agree with Elizabeth Warren on that.
Elections are about the buying and selling of dreams.
That's all it is.
She basically is like, why are y'all not up here selling the dream the way we're trying to sell the dream, damn it?
Well, John Delaney was just saying that people are proposing ideas
that are dead on arrival that will never happen.
And I thought that people just had a good response to that, too,
because he was saying that at a point in time in this country,
it was illegal to have liquor, and now they made it legal again,
so you never know what can happen if you don't try, right?
They also changed John Delaney's Wikipedia page
to say that he was dead on arrival,
that he had died at the hands of Elizabeth Warren at the debate last night.
But they did change the Wikipedia page back and protect it so that they can't change it anymore.
They need to change mine and protect mine so I can stop being a gardener.
They probably have a gardener there.
I mean, dude is right, though.
That's why it's very important to vote, you know, in the midterm elections, too, because as long as there is a Republican Senate, a lot of the things that the Democrats are putting on the table is not going
to go through. All right. Now it was Bernie Sanders versus Tim Ryan. Now, there was a lot
of conversation about health care. Should people have Medicare for all? Should we have Medicare
for everybody? Or should people still be able to opt into Medicare and have their own private
insurance? Well, here's what happened when they went at it. Medicare for all is comprehensive. It covers
all health care needs for senior citizens. It will finally include dental care, hearing aids,
and eyeglasses. Second of all, I do know, and I wrote the damn bill.
Second of all, many of our union brothers and sisters are now paying high deductibles and
copayments. And when we do Medicare for all, instead of having the company putting money
into health care, they can get decent wage increases, which they're not getting today.
Bernie got a point. I like Tim Ryan, too, by the way, though. He's a great guy. He talks about
social and emotional learning and mental health. And he had a great tweet last night. He said there was no
conversation about our children, our K-12
education. How can we talk about the future
without talking about transforming our education
system? Tim Ryan was also
called out last night for not putting his hand on his heart
for the national anthem as well.
I'm a Jehovah's Witness. I don't put my hand on my heart
for the national anthem either. We're going in because he was
the only one out of those ten candidates
who didn't do that.
Why did he do it?
Did he say why?
I'm not sure.
I can't answer that for you.
You got to ask him.
Did he take a knee?
No, he just did the...
He kind of was like your pose.
I know we ran out of time, but we'll get into what Marianne Williamson had to say when we
do the next Front Page News.
Okay.
And you'll hear what she had to say about reparations and also about Flint and how black people have been
mistreated in this country. We should have led with that one.
You know what else though? Here's the thing. There was a lot of talk
about border security, but what about election
security? Like all those points they're making, all those
plans they're presenting are great, but if the fight is
fixed because of Russian interference or some other foreign
entity, what's the point? Wasn't no discussion
about that last night. Well, they did talk
about, I think, getting rid of the electoral college, which
I feel like has been a debate for so long,
and they do need to do that, too.
I'm talking about
the election security bill
that the Republicans shot down.
If the Russians are interfering
in our elections,
what is the point in 2020
if the fight is fixed?
Like, we're going to all
run to the polls for what
is what I'm saying.
Yeah, well, the whole thing
with that is, I mean,
we ain't got time,
but how do you stop that?
That's my point.
Because they jumping
into social media
and they doing a zillion
and one things
that can't be stopped. That's my point. Where was the discussion about social media and they're doing a zillion and one things that can't be stopped.
That's my point.
Where was the discussion about that?
All this talk about border security.
What about election security?
All right.
That's what I want to talk about, too.
That's front page news.
Get it off your chest.

the possibilities for ourselves.
For self-preservation and protection,
it was literally that step by step.
And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.

Hello, who's this?
This is Noriel.
Hey, mama.
Noriel.
I thought it was L'Oreal for a second.
But go ahead, mama, get it off your chest.
Good morning. I just want to say I love you guys me and my husband
And my two year old listen to y'all every morning
Don't do that to your two year old
He's not old enough for this yet
I just turned the radio down a little bit
I just haven't turned it down since
But
Hello did you just turn your radio down
He turned her phone down
John what up John
What's going on man I want to get something off my chest Charlamagne Hello? Did you just turn your radio down? She turned her phone down. All right, well, thank you, Mama. John, what up, John? I thought you got hacked.
What's going on, man?
I want to get something off my chest.
Charlemagne.
Yes, sir.
I grew up a Jehovah's Witness as well, but before I get started, good morning, Envy.
Good morning, sir.
Yee.
Yee.
Good morning.
Sounds like you're upset about something, so I'm just going to let you go.
Yeah, go ahead.
And Charlemagne.
Yes, sir.
You was raised a Jehovah's Witness.
You ever been baptized?
No, sir.
My black ass would have gotten his fellowship if I was baptized.
I did.
I changed it immediately after I said it. I said I was...
See what I'm saying?
As soon as I heard that, the caller told me.
See, as soon as I said I grew up with Jehovah's Witness,
I said, well, actually, I was raised...
I said I was Jehovah's Witness.
I said I was raised Jehovah's Witness.
Grew up with Jehovah's Witness.
All right, bro.
Yes, sir.
Appreciate it.
Y'all have a good day.
I also want you to know that walking up to somebody
and saying I grew up Jehovah's Witness, too,
is perfectly acceptable.
I did it to Prince.
Hello, who's this?
This is Jeff from Newport News.
Hey, Jeff from the 757.
Get it off your chest, bro.
Yeah, I'm a little mad that people think
we need to get rid of the Electoral College.
I just feel like it gives a few dozen
highly populated states the right to govern everybody.
I feel like if you're going to go that way,
we need to give more individual rights to the states.
Do you know that black Americans
who are more concentrated in urban and
populous states are underrepresented by two electoral votes?
Like the electoral college was,
is,
is,
was rooted in racism.
Like the founding fathers basically built that to preserve slavery.
So what I think should happen,
I think they should get rid of the electoral college.
Let it be a straight up voted to people all across America.
That makes these politicians have to go to all of these states that they
ignore and let them get it out the mud the right way.
It's a very old, outdated, ancient. I agree with that. All right. But what you're doing though, It makes these politicians have to go to all of these states that they ignore and let them get it out the mud the right way.
It's a very old, outdated thing.
I agree with that.
All right, but what you're doing, though, is like 80% of the population lives 100 miles off the coast around America, right? So then you have all these states, not coastal states.
I feel like they may be underrepresented if that happens.
Listen, man, Hispanic and Latino people suffer the most from the electoral colleges,
the colleges biased towards white rural states.
White rural states profit the most
off the electoral college, sir.
No, I don't disagree with that.
I'm just saying that if we go that way,
then I think states should have more individual rights.
All right, well, thank you, bro.
All right, have a good day.
You too now.
Get it off your chest.
800-585-1051.
If you need to vent, you can hit us up right now.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Wake up, wake up.
Wake your ass up.
This is your time to get it off your chest.
Say it, say it with your chest.
Whether you're mad or blessed, we want to hear from you on The Breakfast Club.
Hello, who's this?
What's up, Envy?
Hey, what's up, Trav?
Me. Hi, Trav. What's up, Envy? Hey, what's up, Trav? What's up, Envy?
Hi, Trav.
Trav Lane, how are you?
What up, sis?
How are you?
Trav, why you sound so down today?
I'm not down.
I'm just trying to get over some yesterday, which I didn't think of.
I don't know what I'm thinking.
So what's going on, Trav? I apologize for hurting your feelings yesterday, Trav.
What's up, though?
What's up today?
Hey, listen.
Can I just a second?
I'll tell you a quick.
Okay.
So, Beyonce, Brown Skin Girls.
Man, if you don't get the phone out your mouth, Trav,
nobody can understand you.
Yeah, Trav, we can't hear you.
You sound muffled.
Oh, my bad.
Is this better?
Yes.
Sounds the same.
So, the song Brown Skin Girls by Beyonce.
That song is not for you light-skinned girls, man.
I want y'all to know that.
Y'all need to stop telling all lies
and matter to Brown Skin Girls. So, Beyonce, let y'all to know that. Y'all need to stop telling all lies, mad at the brown-skinned girls.
So, Beyonce let y'all know that it's for the Lupitas and for the Kelly Rowlands.
And the light-skinned girls need to just sit back and fall back and let it be for the chocolate girls.
So, light-skinned girls can't sing the song?
They can sing it, but stop telling all lies, mad at the brown-skinned girls.
It's a celebration.
Go watch the video and see it's for the chocolate girls.
That's all.
I mean, but brown-skinned girls ain't chocolate girls, though.
I mean, it's for the Lupitas and the Kelly girls.
Lupita and Kelly is chocolate.
I've been calling Kelly the Godiva Chocolate Goddess for years.
There's all different kind of shades of brown, too.
It's for the chocolate girls, though.
I think she said brown because it sounds the best.
Because, like, black-skinned girls wouldn't sound right.
Dark-skinned girls, that wouldn't sound right. Just brown-skinned girls wouldn't sound right. Dark-skinned girls, that wouldn't sound right.
Just brown-skinned girl.
Like, it just has a little...
Brown has a better melody to it.
But whatever Trav want to rock to, man.
Just let Trav rock to it.
I feel like Beyonce made it for the chocolate.
If you watch the video, she made sure she grabbed the dark-skinned chocolate girls, though.
This is a dumb argument.
This is a stupid argument.
I'm going to tell you why it's a stupid argument.
She does say Kelly Rowland and Lupita, but she also does say brown.
So you're not going to sit here and act like there's a difference between brown skin and beautiful dark skin.
So the debates were on last night.
Bachelorette was on last night.
And this is what y'all want to argue about this morning?
What do you identify as, Trav?
I'm chocolate.
I'm dark skin.
I'm dark skin.
I'm black.
Dark skin, queer.
The best thing in my rear.
Greg, man. Hey, Greg in my rear. Greg, man.
Hey, hey, good morning.
Greg, get it off your chest.
I watched the debate last night.
Didn't know who Marianne Williamson was before last night.
Me and my wife were watching it.
I told my wife, I think I'm in love again.
Marianne is great, bro.
I'm telling you, I love what she said.
I mean, she spoke with conviction and sincerity and honesty.
And I think she's the only person that I felt was up there that when asked about racial issues and how they would confront Donald Trump,
you know, she didn't stutter or fumble over her words.
She felt what she was saying.
And I think it was sincerity in her voice.
And I think every black person that's hearing this, that watched the debate or that's hearing this broadcast right here should find out who that woman is, support her.
Sir. Let him go., support her. Sir.
Let him go.
Let him go.
Sir, I agree with you, sir.
Marianne Williamson has been on The Breakfast Club.
Marianne Williamson also has 13 books, four New York Times bestsellers.
She's on Oprah's Super Soul Conversations a lot.
He just read that about her and he's like,
Like I told you, she was the most Googled name yesterday.
So if you didn't know, now people know.
My wife knows who she was because she said she's Oprah's girl.
That's what my wife said.
She's Oprah's girl.
Yeah, she used to be on Oprah when Oprah's TV show used to be on.
Well, thank you, bro.
Yeah.
She put out a good book called The Healing Soul of America.
This came out in, like, the 90s.
You should read that.
Get it off your chest.
800-585-1051.
Now, you got rumors on the way?
Yes, let's talk about A$AP Rocky.
We told you his trial started yesterday in Sweden.
We'll give you an update on what's going on
because the victim did take the stand.
Really?
All right, we'll get into that next.
Keep it locked.
It's The Breakfast Club.

As a kid, I really do remember having these dreams and visions,
but you just don't know what is going to come for you.
Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt,
learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams.
I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves.
For self-preservation and protection. It was literally
that step by step. And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going. This increment
of small, determined moments. Alicia shares her wisdom on growth, gratitude, and the power of love.
I forgive myself. It's okay. Like, grace. Have grace with yourself.
You're trying your best.

All the gossip.
The rumor report. The gossip. With Angela Yee. It's the rumor report. The Breakfast Club. Well, A$AP Rocky was in court yesterday, as we told you, was the first day of his trial in Sweden.
And his alleged victim, Slobodan Jovojic, took the stand.
Oh, no, that's his lawyer's name.
And he's saying that the alleged victim is making up stories right now.
According to A$AP Rocky's lawyers, he says that A$AP Rocky was not the one who kicked or punched the alleged victim once he was on the ground.
The lawyer also said that A$AP Rocky only touched the victim in the first place because he felt like the alleged victim had attacked his bodyguard and his bodyguard
was in danger when he struck him in the head with his headphones.
And so that is going to be what they are discussing when they cross examine the alleged victim.
And that's going to be happening tomorrow.
I don't understand this case.
Like it should be open and shut.
Honestly, they seen the kid hit the security with headphones.
I got to defend myself.
I don't understand what the problem is.
I really don't.
Right.
Well, the alleged victim,
Jafari, admits to striking
the bodyguard,
but he says only after
A$AP Rocky's bodyguard
lifted him off the ground
by his neck,
and he said the headphone attack
was self-defense.
Are they even using
the tape in court, though?
Because it don't sound like it.
Not at all.
It's self-defense.
If somebody is hurting you,
wouldn't you run away?
Like, if somebody hurt you or hit you or you felt like your life was threatened,
wouldn't you leave?
They continue. Right.
So, I don't know. He said he
felt like his life was in danger. So, that's
what's happening right now in Sweden. The court,
the trial will continue tomorrow. Which makes
no sense. Like, I mean, clearly the tape shows
that if you think your life is in danger,
why are you continuing to follow the alleged threat? Makes no sense. Clearly the tape shows that if you think your life is in danger, why are you continuing to follow the
alleged threat? Makes no sense.
Harass him.
Alright, now let's talk about Chance the Rapper.
He was on with Nicki Minaj on Queen Radio
and he was talking about his album,
The Big Day. Now he did say
that there was one song that you have to
hear. I need you to hear one song
on my album that has my best verse that I've written
in my life. It's called We Go High.
My wife literally saved my life by becoming celibate and going and getting baptized.
And now I know exactly where my strength comes from.
And this is all after coloring a book, after I proclaim that I love Jesus and all that stuff.
You never fully, fully sanctify.
And so I had to keep figuring that out.
I had to do the Grammys by myself.
I had to do a lot of by myself.
And then when my girl was gracious enough to have me back,
it changed my whole life.
Dropping the clues, Bons, for that faithful black male named Chance the Rapper.
Somebody sent me a tweet of someone on social media, Clown and Chance,
saying all he does is rap about loving his wife on his album.
So what?
You know clown rappers for talking about smashing a bunch of chicks on their albums.
Why are you mad that he's expressing love to his wife
repeatedly on his album?
And if that's what's
really happening in his life,
don't we want artists
to talk about reality
and truth?
To be honest,
I just don't understand
why you would be upset
about that.
Why would that upset you
that he's talking about
loving his wife
throughout his whole album?
Because these rappers
rap about dogging out women
all through projects
and nobody cares.
Yep.
All right, now,
let's talk about the Dallas Cowboys.
They're being sued and they're being accused of a police cover-up.
You like that?
Okay.
They got to be in the news or something.
They're not winning, so.
That is not true.
It was the playoffs last year, sir.
Second round.
Knock it off.
There was a crash that involved Zeke Elliott.
Now, according to the victim, Ronnie Hill, he was driving his car
and Zeke slammed a GMC Yukon
into a BMW 750
while he was on his way
to the Cowboys practice facility.
According to Ronnie Hill,
he says it was very clear
and obvious that Zeke was at fault
because he ran into his back.
And he was running late to practice.
He ran into the back.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
So, it caused more than $33,000 in damage.
But, however, when the police department came, the Frisco Police Department,
they put out a statement and they described the incident as a minor vehicle crash,
when, in fact, it was a lot worse than that.
Like I said, it was $33,000 worth of damage.
They said the collision was so intense,
they actually had to separate the vehicles with the tow truck because they were wedged together. So he said if anyone had
actually reported the impact of the
accident and had Elliott been examined,
he would have most likely been placed in a concussion
protocol and out for the Dallas Cowboys
upcoming playoff game. So he's
saying that the running backs coach, Gary
Brown, raced to the scene of the accident and
said, we'll take care of everything. But they didn't.
And so now he's suing them
and the Cowboys for $20 million in damages.
Oh, so this happened like last year sometime?
Mm-hmm.
It happened in 2017.
Oh, yeah, I was about to say this is fake news,
because Zeke has been holding out.
He hasn't reported to camp,
so if you're saying he was on his way to practice, that's a lie.
Never happened.
This was before the game, they said.
Well, this was last year is what you said.
Yeah, it was in 2017, two years ago.
Two years ago.
All right, so I'm Angela Yee.
I got to hear both sides.
Listen, I just told the story because I know you're such a Dallas Cowboys fan.
I wanted you to hear it.
All right.
I'm Angela Yee, and that was your rumor report.
Why is he not coming to practice, Solomon?
You know?
Did they say why?
Does he want more money?
He wants more money.
Yeah.
He's doing what all NFL players should be doing when they're good and they're not getting
paid what they think they should be getting paid.
Holding out for more money.
And he's a running back.
Running backs' lives are short in the NFL.
You want that bread.
I don't blame them.
Okay.
All right.
Well, that is your rumor report.
When we come back, front page news, what are we talking about, Yeezy?
Well, let's talk about the debates last night out here in Detroit, which is where I am right
now, Marianne Williamson.
She was the most Googled name from the debates out of all the 10 candidates last night.
And we'll give you the highlights.
Some people say she had the best quotables for the night.
All right.
We'll get into that next.
Keep it locked.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God.
We are the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Now let's get in some front page news.
We'll be starting with Yee.
Well, let's talk about the debates last night out here in Detroit.
It's the second debate for the Democrats,
so we're going to see who's going to make it through to the end.
But one person who people really enjoyed hearing from last night
was Marianne Williamson.
Now, she had a lot to say about reparations,
and she's been talking about reparations.
Here's what she said.
It's $500 billion, $200 to $ billion dollars payment of a debt that is owed.
That is what reparations is. We need some deep truth telling when it comes.
We don't need another commission to look at evidence.
It is time for us to simply realize that this country will not heal.
We need to recognize that when it comes to the economic gap between blacks and whites in America, it does come from a great injustice that has never been dealt with.
All right. In addition to that, she talks about inequalities and she discusses the water and the situation in the environment in Flint and how that has affected people because it's a bigger issue than just Flint.
Flint is just the tip of the iceberg.
We have an administration that has gutted the Clean Water Act.
We have communities, particularly communities of color and disadvantaged communities all
over this country who are suffering from environmental injustice.
I assure you, I lived in Grosse Pointe.
What happened in Flint would not have happened in Grosse Pointe.
We need to say it like it is.
It's bigger than Flint.
It's all over this country.
It's particularly people of color.
It's particularly people who do not have the money to fight back.
And if the Democrats don't start saying
it, then why would those people feel that they're
there for us? And if those people don't feel it,
they won't vote for us, and Donald Trump
will win. Dropping the clues bombs for Mary
Will. That's when you know you like somebody when you show it
in their name. Mary Ann Williamson, Mary Will.
Okay, number one, she's a cancer like me.
Number two, she's all about healing and dealing
with your internal pain and traumas.
She put a book out a while ago, back in the 90s, called The Healing of America,
where she talks about all those things she's on stage talking about now.
So she's been about that life, and she's been on The Breakfast Club.
Well, in 49 out of 50 states, she was the most searched of all of the 10 candidates,
according to Google Trends.
Oh, shoot.
Let me go see if the Mary Williamson Breakfast Club interview bumped up.
All right, now let's also talk about what Mayor Pete had to say
while he was on stage, Pete Buttigieg.
He was actually, this was awkward,
because he was standing right next to Bernie Sanders
when he was asked about age playing a factor in who is running our country.
I don't care how old you are.
I care about your vision.
But I do think it matters that we have a new generation of leaders
stepping up around the world, but only if it's actually backed by the right vision. But I do think it matters that we have a new generation of leaders stepping up around the world.
But only if it's actually backed by the right
vision. And we can have great
presidents at any age.
That's not awkward for
Mayor Pete. I mean, that's just like them asking
Well, I'm not saying for Mayor Pete,
I was there and I was watching the body language of
what was happening and the big
difference in age, because Mayor Pete's the youngest one
who's actually running,
and he's standing right next to Bernie Sanders.
And I know that's been an issue of contention,
people talking about old white men running this country.
Yeah, but it's also a big point of contention for people saying,
can a gay person run this country?
So it could be the same thing that could apply to Mayor Pete.
Mayor Pete wouldn't, he could handle that question.
That's easy work for him.
Yes.
So his answer was great, though, because he's saying it doesn't matter how old you are as long as.
But he also wants the newer, younger guard to take over.
All right.
And I saw this story yesterday about a Delta pilot who was taken off of a fully boarded plane.
It was leaving from Minneapolis and he was arrested under suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol.
So the whole plane was boarded.
Everybody was on and they took him off the plane.
They said he was seen leaving a TSA screening line for crew members.
And they said that he needed additional screening.
So he left.
And that drew suspicion right away.
Then they found a container of alcohol in his possession once he boarded the plane.
And they didn't say what kind of alcohol was confiscated.
They haven't pressed any formal charges at this time.
They're waiting for toxicology results right now.
Hey, serious question.
If you're not acting erratically and wild, then why is being drunk on a plane a problem?
Because it's not like you're driving a plane.
All you want to do is go to sleep.
Well, if you're a pilot.
He's a pilot.
Oh, a pilot.
I didn't hear you say that.
He's a pilot.
Okay, well, you know.
I was like, yeah, that is a problem, actually.
You know what I'm drunk on?
You know what I'm drunk flying you around?
I didn't hear the pilot part.
Okay. Yes, no, he was a I was like, yeah, that is a problem, actually. You know what I'm talking about? I didn't hear the pilot part. Okay, yes, that makes perfect sense.
No, he was a Delta pilot.
I totally understand that.
It seems like you hear this so much that pilots should have to take a test before they fly.
Like, they should have to take a test so you should see, you know, I think so.
Take a test for what?
To see if they're drunk or not.
Yeah.
You hear this a lot with pilots, but then if you do it with pilots, do you got to do it with bus drivers?
Do you have to do it with train conductors?
Yeah.
I think you should.
Well, I guess they do, you know, you do go through screening,
so I guess they wanted additional screening for him.
I don't know if there was a particular reason.
What screening?
Just going through TSA, right?
Yeah, they go through that,
but I guess they can determine.
They pay attention.
I don't know.
Maybe his eyes were red.
Because even if you go through TSA,
there's still all the bars there.
You can stop at a bar and get a drink
if you need it that bad.
They put that drink with him on the plane.
That's crazy.
I wonder what the legal limit of alcohol is for a pilot.
None.
Is it?
I don't know.
It shouldn't be any.
You shouldn't drink at all.
It shouldn't be, but what is it?
It should be none.
Do they make you do a breathalyzer?
That's what I'm saying.
You should have to do a breathalyzer before you're a pilot
or a train conductor or a bus driver.
What if you had a couple of beers?
You shouldn't be driving or flying me.
I agree.
I just want to know how much is too much.
A little. All right. All right want to know how much is too much. A little.
All right.
All right.
Well, that is front page news.
Now, when we come back, let's talk about Anthony Davis.
Now, Anthony Davis plays for the Lakers now, and he's afraid of the dark.
What's the thing about yourself you'd most like to improve?
Me being scared of the dark.
How scared?
Like, night lights everywhere?
Like, TV on, bathroom light on.
Something I have to be on.
What if you fell in love with someone who needed it to be completely dark to sleep?
We ain't going to make it.
So the question is, 800-585-1051.
As an adult, what are you afraid of?
Me, this is easy.
This happened this morning.
When I walked in my bathroom this morning, there was a spider the size of a cell phone.
And I woke my wife up like,
yo, what we gonna do? And she was like, you woke me up
for this? I said, yes, what we gonna
do? She's like, you gonna hit that with a sneaker and then you gonna go
back and you gonna go to work. And I hit it with a sneaker.
But I don't do spiders
and I don't do snakes. The two things I do
not do, nope. So you got arachnophobia
and whatever phobia the snakes are.
Yes, to the point, one day I'm driving in the car
and you know how they have like the little white spiders
that crawl on your windshield?
He was in the car, I was on the highway.
I almost crashed, I had to pull over.
I do not do spiders in our state.
You would have crashed because it was a spider in the car.
I don't do, nope, I don't do them.
I don't like bugs at all either,
but one thing I'm terrified of is birds.
I hate birds so much.
Really?
Yes, and I think it's all because when I was really young,
my parents had this movie on the birds.
And I guess they were watching this like an old Alfred Hitchcock movie.
And ever since then, I've been terrified of birds since I was a kid.
I don't care if it's like a pet bird that a person has.
I can't stand birds.
I feel like they're going to group together and plot to kill you.
I don't think they're going to do that, though.
Charlamagne, what about you?
I don't know, man.
I got to think about it.
I got a lot of different fears.
I don't know.
Just name one.
I mean, I don't have any fears like that.
Like, I don't fear birds.
I mean, of course you're afraid of snakes.
Snakes will kill you.
But you country.
Like, they got snakes down there y'all be playing with.
Nobody plays with snakes.
Shut up, boy.
When do you make this type of stuff up?
I don't know.
Nobody plays with no goddamn snakes. I don't know. I figure y'all play with snakes. I got a lot of When do you make this type of stuff up? Nobody plays with no goddamn snakes.
Country, I don't know.
I figure y'all play with snakes.
I got a lot of different fears.
I got to think about it.
I think what gives me anxiety the most.
Let me think.
All right.
Well, 800-585-1051.
As an adult, what are you afraid of?
Call us now.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Pull out your phone.
Call in right now.
Call me.
Add your opinion to the Breakfast Club topic.
Break it down.
800-585-1051.
The Breakfast Club.
It's topic time.
Pick up the phone, baby.
Call 800-585-1051 to join in to the discussion with the Breakfast Club.
Talk about it.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Now, if you just joined us, we're talking about what you are afraid of as an adult.
Now, this conversation comes from Anthony Davis, NBA player, plays for the Lakers.
Let's hear.
What's the thing about yourself you'd most like to improve?
Me being scared of the dark.
How scared?
Do you like nightlights everywhere?
Like TV on, bathroom light on, sunlight has to be on.
What if you fell in love with someone who needed it to be completely dark to sleep?
We ain't going to make it.
So we're asking 800-585-1051, what are you afraid of?
I tell you, spiders and snakes, I don't do them.
Get them away from me.
I'm scared.
I don't want nothing. Nope, nope, nope. I'm scared. I don't want nothing.
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
Ye is scared of birds.
Yes, I'm scared of birds.
I'm always scared.
Don't let a bird fly anywhere near me or let me be eating someplace and a bird flies up.
I hate eating outdoors for that reason when they have birds around.
So, yes, terrified.
So, listen, my fears vary.
I deal with anxiety, so I have a lot of irrational fears.
So when y'all say, you know,
things that y'all afraid of, y'all talking about phobias,
y'all not talking about like, you know,
parental paranoia, home invasions,
getting murdered, white people, not the usual
stuff, right? You said white people?
You're not scared of the usual stuff, right? You scared of white people?
Yes.
That could be a phobia, like I'm scared of snakes and spiders.
You scared of white people? No, I have a
long track record of reasons to fear the white man.
What kind of white person?
What do you mean, what kind of white person?
You hear about white people every day.
Like racist white people or just all white people?
Definitely racist, bigoted white people.
Like Steve, you're scared of Steve?
Okay, you can't just say white people.
You can have white people that are covert racist too that you could work for that could be doing things to hinder you.
You don't know.
So you're scared of Steve?
So that's your fear?
You're not afraid of Steve?
The way Steve comes in here
and bugs out all the time
and this guy might just end up
shooting up the whole place?
We don't know.
I'm a little fearful of Steve.
Please, stop it.
Yeah, you're right.
I'm saying outside of that stuff,
outside of the regular stuff,
you're just being like,
what are we afraid of?
Correct.
I mean, I don't know.
I'm one of those people
who see something bad
happen on the news
and automatically think
it's going to happen to me.
Like, I don't have
one particular fear and I don't know if this is a fear,
but I do hate seeing doo-doo in the toilet.
I can't stand that.
When I walk into a bathroom, I do creep up on the stall,
and I'm so mad now because here at iHeart,
they used to have the flush handles,
so you could close your eyes and kick the handles
so you don't have to see.
But now it's motion sensitive.
Now you've got to touch the button,
so you've got to kind of just walk in there kind of blind and just feel it out because I don't like to look in the toilet because you don't have to see. But now it's motion sensitive. Now you got to touch the button, so you got to kind of like just walk in there kind of blind
and just feel it out because I don't like to look in the toilet
because I don't know what I might see.
So maybe that's the phobia.
I don't know.
You're scared of doodoo.
Did you have a bad experience with doodoo?
I just don't like seeing other people's doodoo in the toilet.
I just think it's disgusting.
I can't believe y'all don't have a fear of white people.
That's crazy to me.
No, I don't.
Oh, okay.
All right.
It's not like they have a history of ever doing anything to black people.
It's perfectly fine not to have a fear of them.
I get it.
I'm not scared of all white people.
Sorry.
Okay.
You scared of Dan, our white producer?
Yes.
You see how Dan be bugging the hell out of me?
You don't see how Dan be bugging out?
Dan bugs out in here.
I don't know when they going to snap.
All right?
I'm not scared of you, Dan.
Desiree.
Yes. What are you scared of,, Dan. Desiree. Yes.
What are you scared of, mama?
I am scared of clowns.
I've heard that before.
I don't know who would have that.
That's a big fear.
The sight of a clown freaks me out.
Really?
Okay.
I can't stand clowns.
When I was younger, I was at this fair with my brothers and my dad.
I was running, wasn't paying attention to where I was going.
I ran into him,
and I turned around.
He just lifts me up,
shakes the s*** out of me,
and puts me down.
He doesn't say anything,
and I just take off running, crying.
That's abuse.
Ever since then.
Oh, thank you.
There's a word for that, too.
They call that, like,
I think it's called
co-rophobia or something like that.
Mm-mm.
Oh, my God.
Like, I am definitely
afraid of clowns.
Like, I'm shaking thinking about it.
Yeah, that's the thing. I've seen that before. They've done TV shows
about that. Rachel!
Hi. Hey, Rachel. Good morning.
What are you scared of, Rachel? Hey, Angela.
Hey, Charlamagne. Hi, how are you? Hi, Rachel.
Rachel, are you white?
No. That is
so funny. People always ask me that
when I have a friend
and they're like, so is she white?
I'm like, wow.
Okay, Rachel.
Guys can have a black friend?
Well, Rachel, what are you scared of, mama?
Okay, I'm afraid of knives.
And I never really realized I was afraid of knives until my best friend told me a story about her and a girl getting into it.
Her neighbor.
And she was like, she poured a knife out on me,
and I was like, this is her saying it.
And she was like, I was like, you know,
you wasn't going to win this battle if you tried to stab me.
And I was like, well, if it was me, I would be pretty scared.
Like, I don't like scars and stuff, so.
I don't like scars.
I don't like getting stabbed either.
Let's be clear about something.
You're not afraid of knives.
You're afraid of people with knives in their hands trying to stab you.
It's a difference, and I think all of us are afraid of that.
You cut your foot, right?
I would definitely be scared if someone pulled a knife on me.
Exactly.
You don't just walk in the kitchen and be like, oh, my God, knives.
I don't know.
Some people, no, I'm not just afraid of knives.
I'm like, oh, my God.
Rachel, you have a good day, you crazy ass.
Rachel, yes.
Yes.
You have a good day.
Yes, you too.
800-585-1051.
What are you scared of?
Call us now.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
You can call me.
You can call me.
You can call me.
You can call me.
Add your opinion to The Breakfast Club topic.
Come on. Call in right now. Talk to him. Talk to him. Add your opinion to the Breakfast Club topic.
Call in right now.
Talk to him.
You know what I'm saying?
The record show.
Dan, our white producer just walked out the room and said, good luck, Charlamagne.
I said good looks.
Oh, good looks.
I thought he said good luck. Like appreciate the slander.
As if me working fast and hard is you thinking I'm bugging out.
See?
Exactly.
Exactly.
You need to prove my point.
You move at a snail's pace, so I got to compensate and beat the clock.
You proved my point.
You know what I'm saying?
It's just called working hard, man.
You know what I'm saying?
Morning, everybody.
We are the Brushers.
Listen to him.
Listen.
If you're just joining us, we're talking about what you're scared of.
Charlamagne said he's scared of white people.
Yes.
And our white producer didn't like that too much.
Bumped out just like this. Exactly. Prove my point.
I'm scared now.
I'm scared of me now.
So this conversation comes from Anthony Davis.
Let's play a clip of what happened.
What's the thing about yourself you'd most like to improve?
Me being scared of the dark.
How scared? Like night lights everywhere?
Like TV on, bathroom light on, sunlight has to be on.
What if you fell in love with someone who needed it to be completely dark to sleep?
We ain't going to make it.
Wow.
800-585-1051.
We're asking what you are scared of.
And we have Chris on the line.
Chris, good morning.
Yes, good morning.
Good morning.
Hey, Chris, now what are you scared of, Chris?
I'm afraid of giant water bugs, those cockroaches, man.
I cannot deal with that.
Oh, man, what about when they take flight?
What about when they take flight on your ass?
That's the worst.
Especially around this time.
Man, listen, look.
There was this one time there was a water bug.
I thought it was coming into the building.
It was on the third step.
It took me about an hour and a half just to jump over that water bug.
My goodness.
I hate bugs too,
I'm not going to lie.
Nah, just the spiders
and snakes.
I don't think I could kill it.
I would have to run and hide.
Adriana.
Hi.
You and Dramos
are fearful of the same thing.
What is that?
What are you fearful of?
Bees.
Tiny little bees.
Beehive.
Yep, Dramos is scared of bees.
Ever since the beehive
attacked you, Dramos? Ever since the beehive attacked him, he's scared of bees. Yep, Dramos is scared of bees. Ever since the beehive attacked you, Dramos?
Ever since the beehive attacked him, he's scared of bees.
What gave you that fear of bees?
Was it My Girl, the movie?
It started there.
I feel your pain.
I'm a veterinary nurse, and I work with aggressive animals.
Cats that bounce off the walls that are angry,
wilders that come from the yards.
And I specifically work with large animals
who are ready to nail me.
And I got scars on my arms that I've been bit.
But I can't swallow the fact that a tiny bee
wants to hang around me.
Like, I start sweating, and I start shaking.
You know what it is?
It's because bees are so unpredictable.
Like, they just fly up in your space,
and you're startled. You don't know what they're going to do next. I think that's what it is, it's because bees are so unpredictable. They just fly up in your space and you're
startled. You don't know what they're going to do next.
I think that's what it is because I can hold a
dog. I can wrap my arms around a cat
and put a blanket over it or put a muzzle on it.
I can't put a muzzle on a bee sting.
Are you allergic to bee stings?
Girl, this is another thing.
Never got stung. So you don't even
know. I got stung
on my eye and I got stung in my lip by a bee.
And my eyelid.
A bee stung me on my eyelid, and a bee stung me in my lip.
What were you doing?
Just standing there?
No.
My palms are already sweating.
Well, thank you, Mama.
Emmy, why didn't you move or, like, shoot a bee?
You know what happened?
I was spraying the beehive, so I was spraying it with a hose.
And when I sprayed the beehive, one came out.
So I sprayed them.
And then all of a sudden, they all just started coming.
Are you crazy?
What is wrong with you?
One got me on my eyelid, man.
And then the other one, I was drinking a quarter water when I was a kid.
And he flew in a quarter water.
And when I drank it, he stung me right on my lip.
So you didn't see him fly in.
I seen him, but I was like, there's no way he flew in my drink.
So I still drank it and caught me.
You weren't too swift.
No, I wasn't.
What's the moral of the story, guys?
The moral of the story is there's nothing to fear but fear itself.
Or is that some BS that people just say when people are scared?
That is some BS, man.
And they're trying to make them feel better.
That is some BS, man.
The moral of the story is if a bee flies in your drink, don't drink the drink.
Don't drink it.
The moral of the story is if you got wild acting white people that work on your job, be careful.
All right.
We'll move with caution.
Okay.
Hey, Dan.
Good morning.
I just wanted to say that.
All right.
Now you got rumors on the way?
Well, find out who just got a book deal.
And this book deal is between three and four million dollars.
And the tie that bonds Michael
Jackson and Elvis Presley, this person
is writing a book, and it's going to
involve both of those people.
It better not be a love for little kids.
Oh my goodness. We'll get to that next. Keep it locked. It's the
Breakfast Club. Good morning.
It's a shame when you tell somebody what you're afraid
of and they keep going at it.
My man DJ Opie just texted me and he
said, white people are the ones that go postal
first at the workplace. You gotta be careful
of them. They are sneaky. Oh, by the
way, Opie's white.
Dropping a tool of bombs for DJ Opie.
Alright, morning
everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela
Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy. We are The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Yes, a lot of people are tweeting me
that they're scared of birds as well.
See, I think that's a pretty popular fear.
My mother's scared of birds.
Like, when I say scared,
like, she don't do birds.
If there's a bird around, she gone.
Like, she don't play with them birds.
That's an unbelievable fear to have
simply because there's so many goddamn birds.
That's what I said.
Jesus Christ.
And that's why they can plot
because there's so many of them.
You live in perpetual fear.
And they can fly.
You can't do this.
All right.
So a lot of people hit me up, though.
One person, her name is Tequila Mockingbird, ironically enough.
She said, I became afraid of birds in 2017 when I was walking to my car in the morning
one day.
My car was parked by a tree, and I guess the nest was up there, and the birds chased me
back in the house.
Sheesh.
I've never had that.
That's scary.
I mean, the worst a bird did to me Was about a week ago
A bird flew in my car
And itched all inside the car
Wow
All inside the car
I was so mad
I tried to
Well I tried to catch that bird
But it wasn't
I know a bird who did something bad to you
Yeah man
The worst a bird can do to you
Is say that they're pregnant by you
And they're really not
Just because they're trying to trap you
I'm talking about a flying bird
Oh
Yes but as you were saying, I am in Detroit,
and the second night of debates is tonight for the Democrats.
So tonight is the second night.
They're saying that this is a big deal,
these two nights of debates out here in Detroit,
because obviously as some of these faces you won't see again
and some people won't be participating moving forward
and figuring out who will be the Democratic nominee for president in 2020.
All right. All right. Kamala Harris is on tonight. Joe Biden's on tonight.
He said he's not going to be a nice guy. He said he's not going to be nice. He's going to get a little spicy.
Please. They all should be mobilizing to talk about this threat that is in the White House named Donald Trump.
OK, because I don't understand how they keep telling us to vote in 2020, but the fight is clearly fixed, right?
That's what I want to know.
How are we going to ensure that our votes count in 2020
with all this talk of Russian interference?
Why ain't no conversations about that happening?
Vicious.
All right.
Hey, we got rumors on the way?
Yes, we are going to talk about an artist
who had to cancel a show because of a security threat.
So we'll tell you who that artist is, and it's a huge artist.
We don't know exactly what happened,
but we'll tell you what did go down when that show was canceled.
All right, we'll get into that next.
Keep it locked.
This is The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
This is The Rumor Report with Angela Yee.
The Rumor has it.
On The Breakfast Club.
So listen up.
Well, let's talk about a new book that's going to come out,
and it's going to talk about Michael Jackson. It's going to talk about Elvis Presley,
and the common link there is Lisa Marie Presley.
She was, of course, married to Michael Jackson.
They got married in a private ceremony,
and then they unveiled their relationship publicly on MTV.
They were married from 1994 to 1996,
and, of course, she's also Elvis Presley's daughter.
So she had spoken to Oprah back in 2010.
She did an interview where she said there was a very profound point in the marriage
when he had to make a decision.
Was it the drugs and the sort of vampires or me?
And he pushed me away.
So she also told Oprah, the one thing that correlates with Michael
and with my father on this subject is that they had the luxury
of creating whatever reality around
that they wanted to create whatever they had
around them they could create that reality
so she
is going to have this book and they said there's going to be some
shocking details
about her ex
you know she got between
3 and 4 million dollars for this book deal too
Lisa Marie Fudge was what 15 when she married Elvis Okay You know she got between Three and four million dollars For this book deal too There she got Wasn't Lisa
Lisa Marie Presley
Was what
Fifteen
When she married Elvis
Fourteen
Lisa Marie Presley
Was Elvis' daughter
That's his daughter
His daughter
Who you talking about
His daughter
She was married to Michael Jackson
Who am I talking about
That married Elvis
The fourteen year old
What was her name
I don't know her name
That was his wife
I don't know her name
I don't remember her name
What was her name
But I thought
Was it Priscilla Wasn't it Priscilla Priscilla I don't freak her name. That was his wife. I don't know her name, though. I don't remember her name. What was her name? But I thought the whole time.
Wasn't it Priscilla?
I don't freak out.
I always thought Michael Jackson and him getting married.
I thought that was fake.
I thought they just did that because they said Michael Jackson like kids.
No, they really got married.
Okay.
Yeah, Priscilla Presley met Elvis Presley when she was 14 years old.
Oh, but she met him when she was 14.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay.
They married after an eight-year courtship.
Got you.
And he was 10 years older than her.
I just wanted to throw that out there that he married a 14-year-old.
No, she wasn't 14.
She wasn't 14.
He met her when she was 14.
Same difference.
Yeah, he met her when she was 14.
Tiger met Kyle when she was 14.
And then they got married when she was 22.
Y'all give Tiger hell for it.
All right, now Kiki Palmer is going to be joining Michael Strahan and Sarah Haynes
as the third co-host on the Strahan and Sarah show.
So congratulations to her.
She is inking that deal with the network.
Dropping the clues bombs for Kiki Palmer.
That's dope.
Kiki should have been on somebody's TV.
She's good on that screen.
She had her own talk show for a minute, remember?
I remember that.
Yeah, and so she's been guest co-hosting.
I guess they were feeling it out.
People must have really liked her.
When Sarah was on maternity leave, she was filling in too.
And now she's back.
Sarah's back from maternity leave.
And they said Kiki was having so much fun.
They actually made her an offer.
And they said the audience knows her.
She's got great chemistry when she's hosting with them.
So there you have it.
She's in.
Kiki is dope.
She did a great job.
She's dope.
She got a great POV.
She's not afraid to talk on things that other people don't want to talk about.
Kiki should have been on somebody's TV screen.
I would watch that just to watch Kiki also.
All right.
Now let's talk about Candace Owens and Cardi B.
There was some social media back and forth.
And that's because Cardi B had posted a picture with Bernie Sanders.
And she basically was saying that she sat down with bernie sanders she
said thank you senator bernie sanders for sitting with me and sharing your plans on how you will
change this country a couple of weeks ago i asked my followers if you had the opportunity to have a
question answered by a democratic candidate what would it be i got a lot of submissions and selected
the most popular questions to get answered so stay tuned to see how he will fight for economic racial
and social
injustice for all. Together, let's build a movement of young people to transform this country. Let's
learn our candidates. So while she's not trying to tell people to vote for anyone in particular,
she just wants to make sure that people are educated about who is running for president.
Now, Candace Owens saw that picture and said, I see that Cardi B is politically advocating
for Bernie Sanders with claims that Trump is bad. I would like to publicly offer $250,000 to a political campaign
of her choosing if she will publicly debate her stance with either myself or any black conservative
I choose. Well, Cardi B responded, why don't you use that $250,000 for a charity that will be more
helpful? I like Bernie because since the 60ss he's been fighting for equality. It looks like
progression is really his passion.
I still want to ask other candidates questions that my
followers would like to know. My actual goal
is to educate the youth on our candidates
and she just wants people to vote for
and support any candidate that they choose.
Great answer, Cardi. And let's be clear, Candace
Owens is cloud chasing. Why would you want to debate
Cardi B other than for entertainment purposes?
This is what Candace Owens does.
As many people that have a voice out there as well, that's the one person that she chooses.
Why don't you rap battle Cardi B?
No, Candace, you know who you should debate?
If you want to debate somebody from Bernie Sanders' team, debate Nina Turner.
Drop one of the clues bombs for Nina Turner.
We would love to see that.
She's the co-chair of Bernie Sanders' campaign.
If you want to really debate somebody, how about sit down with Nina Turner?
Why would you want to debate Cardi other than for entertainment purposes?
Because you know it's going to get a bunch of clicks and views.
Debate Nina Turner if you really want to debate.
She does that for a living.
You're going, come on, yeah, you're right.
All right, well, Cardi B was supposed to have a show last night,
and that show got canceled because of security concerns.
Now, they still haven't revealed what those threats were,
but they had some threats that are under investigation.
A statement from the promoter said,
due to a security threat and safety concerns at this evening's show,
management has advised that the show be postponed.
These threats are currently under investigation.
So don't know what it is,
but they have rescheduled her performance for September 11th,
if you were supposed to be there at Bankers Life Fieldhouse last night.
She did go to Soundcheck
and everything. She posted videos and rehearsals
from Soundcheck, but don't know what
went down. I wonder what those threats sound like
because that could be anybody, right? That could be
people who
listen, let's be clear. I'm not saying it is
but it could be Barb's. It could be
people who are upset that she spoke
out against Trump. It could be a bunch of different
people that could just simply call a venue
and say, hey, I'm going to do such and such because Cardi B is going to be there.
In this day and age, you've got to take everything serious.
I mean, you do got to take everything serious,
but I mean, like, when do you take threats serious and when do you not take threats serious?
You got to take them all serious, especially with everything that's going on in this world,
the mass shootings and all that.
You got to take them all serious.
Well, I need more security then because I get them all.
Like, I get them all the time.
I'm so used to that type of stuff.
Like, I had somebody text me, not text me, but they sent the email saying,
he didn't want to cut my tongue out.
I'm a liberal, loving leftist.
I can't even pronounce stuff like that.
How many times did you get hit?
What do you mean?
Outside the station.
What are you talking about?
How many times did you get punched?
Once, twice.
Okay, so you should take the threat serious, all right?
They proved it to you twice already. No, not really. Not really? No. Okay. No, they ain't done it, twice. Okay, so you should take the threat serious, all right? They proved it to you twice already.
No, not really.
Not really?
No.
Okay.
No, they ain't done it, no.
Look, safety is a concern.
So if it's about your safety,
then yes.
Yeah, but it's a difference
when somebody tries
to jump you over something
somebody was talking about
in rap,
and then when somebody
sends you an email
and says they want
to cut your tongue out
because you were talking
about Trump
and you're a liberal,
loving leftist.
Like, I know that's politically driven.
You understand what I'm saying?
And that was based off my appearance on MSNBC the other day.
Like, that's when I started getting those crazy emails.
But I take it all serious.
I take it all serious.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Every day, all serious.
Well, you know, you'll get shot by a white man in a suit.
Okay.
That's why he's down there.
That's right.
Shout to him.
Yes.
Okay, guys, this went left to right.
No, it didn't.
No, just talking about protection.
This is very center, actually.
Now you're talking about shooting somebody. This is
2A. Very center. This is very center.
This is something we all can agree on.
Regardless of what side of the aisle you're on.
I'm a 2A guy, alright?
Just trying to get home to my family.
That's it. Alright, well, thank you for that rumor
report. Shalabang! Yes.
Who you giving that down? You know, let's
talk about crime, people, and why we
should move in silence if you are committing crimes.
All right.
We'll get into that next Keep It Locked.
This is The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Is your country falling apart?
Feeling tired?
Depressed?
A little bit revolutionary?
Consider this.
Start your own country.
I planted the flag.
I just kind of looked out of like, this is mine.
I own this.
It's surprisingly easy.
There are 55 gallons of water for 500 pounds of concrete.
Everybody's doing it. I am King Ernest Emmanuel. I am the Queen of Ladonia. I'm Jackson I,
King of Capraburg. I am the Supreme Leader of the Grand Republic of Mentonia. Be part of a
great colonial tradition. Why can't I trade my own country? My forefathers did that themselves.
What could go wrong? No country willingly gives up their territory. I was making a rocket with a black powder, you know, with explosive warhead.
Oh my God.
What is that?
Bullets.
Bullets.
We need help!
We still have the off-road portion to go.
Listen to Escape from Zakistan.

you just don't know what is going to come for you. Alicia Keys opens up about conquering doubt,
learning to trust herself, and leaning into her dreams.
I think a lot of times we are built to doubt the possibilities for ourselves.
For self-preservation and protection, it was literally that step by step.
And so I discovered that that is how we get where we're going.
This increment of small, determined moments.
Alicia shares her wisdom on growth,
gratitude, and the power of love.
I forgive myself.
It's okay.
Like grace.
Have grace with yourself.
You're trying your best
and you're going to figure out
the rhythm of this thing.

Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty
on the iHeartRadio
app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. bit of a mixed question. So like a donkey. Keyhole. Donkey of the day.
The practice club, bitches.
Now I've been called a lot in my 23 years,
but donkey of the day is a new one.
Yes, donkey of the day for July 31st goes to a young individual
named Paige Thompson.
The reason I say individual is because
I'm not quite sure if this is a man or woman. I'm not sure
how this person wants to be identified, so I would just say human.
Now, Paige was charged Monday with a single count of computer fraud
and abuse in federal court in Seattle
after FBI officials linked her, linked, linked Page to online posts.
What's wrong with you?
I don't know what they want to be identified as.
Okay.
Okay, linked Page to online posts
detailing the massive data theft on Twitter and Slack.
Now, I don't know if
you have heard about this, but according to the NY Post, this is one of the largest bank data
breaches in history. Would you like to hear about it? Let's go to NBC News for the report.
Credit card giant Capital One disclosing a massive data breach hitting 100 million customers in the
U.S. Officials say the suspect, 33-year-old software engineer Paige Thompson, allegedly stole customers' addresses, phone numbers, birthdates, and credit history
linked to applications for credit cards from 2005 through early 2019.
Wow. Paige Thompson obtained the personal information of over 100 million Capital One credit applications,
120,000 Social Security numbers, 77,000 bank account
numbers. There is a scammer in Brooklyn right now smiling ear to ear saying, damn, why couldn't I
get that kind of lick? There is someone in West Africa right now who was about to send out an
email this morning telling one of us that he has a bunch of money that he wants to send us who is
ecstatic about what Paige Thompson pulled off.
But don't get too excited.
Scammers, your leader has failed you.
Oh, Paige got the lick off, and Paige probably would have gotten away with it
if Paige didn't have the desire to do what every person in the world
seems to have the desire to do,
and that's play a game of show and tell via social media.
Oh, that's all social media is, one big game of show and tell
where all ages and all crimes are welcome.
Let's go back to NBC News to see where Paige went wrong.
She was arrested by the FBI in Seattle on Monday after bragging about it online,
saying, I've basically strapped myself with a bomb vest,
dropping Capital One's docs and admitting it.
Capital One insists no credit card numbers or login information was exposed, but admits 140,000 social security numbers were put at risk.
Capital One says the issue in its system is now fixed and it will notify affected customers.
FBI, aka Facebook and Instagram, they got you. It's all the same.
All right, Page is just another example of a human who can't move in silence
because they want applause from a bunch of people who don't give a damn about them.
Why did Paige feel the need to tell the world about scamming Capital One?
You hit the lick, all right?
Get some paper from it and then stunt on social media like everybody else.
You don't have to tell people how you got the money.
Nobody else does.
Not to mention, I would never understand why people don't think social media is real life.
Let me rephrase.
Social media is not real life.
People can make up whatever they want on social media, and they do all the time.
But when it comes to the actual structure of social media, that is real.
Okay, the real things you are doing in your life, or should I say the real criminal things you are doing in your life,
why do you think you can put these things on a platform as big as social media and nothing will happen?
Okay? Has crime been normalized on social media and nothing will happen. Okay?
Has crime been normalized on social media so much that people think it's okay as long as it's on Instagram or Facebook?
Paige Thompson proved that in the world of thieves, the only final sin is stupidity.
Please give Paige Thompson a sweet shout out to Hamilton's Fleece.
Oh, now you are the donkey of the day.
You are the donkey
of the day.
Yee-haw.
This show is so funny.
You know why this show
is so funny?
Why?
We've been working together
so long that I can just
look at people and tell
what they're thinking.
So Revolt puts a picture
of Paige Thompson up on the TV screen.
Envy's eyes get big, and now he realizes why I just said this is an individual.
I got you.
Okay?
I understand perfectly.
I don't know what Paige wants to be identified as.
Okay.
Me neither.
All right.
I thought in the media they kept saying a woman, and she did this, and she did that.
Well, they will say that.
Maybe they got more information than I do.
All I got is a picture to go by.
Okay?
Mm-hmm. Yeah. All right. Well, got more information than I do. All I got is a picture to go by. Okay? Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, thank you for that donkey today.
Up next, Ask Yee.
800-585-1051 if you need relationship advice or any type of advice.
Hit Yee right now.
She'll help you with all your problems.
It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
The Breakfast Club.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
It's time for Ask Yee.
Hello, who's this?
Hey, what's up?
This is London.
London, what's up?
What's your question for Yee?
All right.
My question is that I just got out of an almost five-year relationship, right?
I just started getting back on the dating scene,
and I met this very nice young woman.
She has a great
career we have great conversations however uh the physical attraction is not really there on my part
i i don't i don't find her that attractive so i don't know how to tell her that without hurting
her feelings you know like because I'm not a bad person.
Like, you know, maybe me and her could just be friends, but I don't know how to explain that to her
without her, you know, feeling some kind of way, you know?
Right, well, you don't have to tell somebody
that I'm not physically attracted to you.
You can just say, I don't really see us moving forward.
I like you as a friend,
and I want us to maintain that friendship.
Okay.
I think you don't have to be like,
well, physically, I don't like you.
Yeah, that's all.
And I think people can appreciate that
and maybe you guys will be good friends
or maybe she'll feel like,
well, what I wanted was a relationship,
so that's not going to work for me.
And that's fair, too.
So you just have to tell them.
I just see us as friends.
Okay, yee.
All right.
Well, thank you very much.
All right, Alinda.
Yeah, you and your head too much.
What up, what up? Yo, yo, yo, yo.
Let me just tell you, I was watching The Bachelorette last night,
and that actually happened to the young lady.
She had to tell somebody that she liked, that she wasn't in love with him,
and she just straight out and said, look, you're a great person.
I'm just not in love with you, and it worked out pretty well.
Well, it didn't actually work out pretty well, but that's what she did.
Okay, well, thank you, London.
Good luck.
Nobody watches The Bachelorette.
A lot of people do, just not right here.
No.
All right.
I watch it.
I watch it if they put Lizzo on.
She wants to be a Bachelorette.
I watch for that.
That would be dope if Lizzo was on it.
I know what F-boy in the room won't be on it.
Dramos definitely won't be on it.
Hello, who's this?
Ronald.
Ronald, what's your question for you?
What's it called?
I'm glad to get a huge cash settlement from an old boy because he's doing an Uber.
He's trying to get his kid including me $200,000.
I want to see how I can invest that or flip that into the market or buy properties and flip it.
Well, where do you live?
I live in Miami.
Okay.
So you want to buy some property with this $200,000 settlement that you're getting?
Yeah.
Okay.
And I'll tell you this.
Is this your first home that you'll be purchasing?
Oh, well, good for you.
And I think I love that that's your mindset.
The first thing you want to do when you get that settlement,
some people might be like, all right, I'm about to ball out,
but you're ready to actually invest that money.
And I will say when you get your first property,
because you're talking about investment,
make sure it's an investment property.
And what I did with the first property I bought
was I bought a two-family house so that I was able to live there, but also
get some income. So that helps you with your mortgage. So if you can find a property, that's
an investment property as well, where you can live there, but also rent out some of the units where
you live and that'll pay your mortgage. That would be an amazing, amazing investment for you.
All right. Thank you. They don't have too many units in Florida, but you could definitely look
for them. Is your credit good? I have no credit. I ain't bought yet. All right, thank you. They don't have too many multi-units in Florida, but you could definitely look for them.
Is your credit good?
I have no credit.
I haven't bought yet.
All right, well,
you got to get your credit right.
You should work with somebody
to figure out how you can
work that credit up
and get it into a good score.
I would start with that.
And then I wouldn't use
that whole $200,000
to buy anything.
I would put a percentage
of that down,
a small percentage.
Make sure you keep that money
because after you start,
you figure it out
and you start doing good,
then you can buy multiple and then you
can create streams of income.
Yeah, definitely the first thing you have to do is get your credit
right and then you also have to see what you would qualify
for, even how much house can you buy.
Right. You got all that?
Yes, sir. First thing,
credit. Second thing, pre-approval to see how
much you can spend. Alright, thank you.
Alright, bro. Alright, ask Yee
800-585-1051 if you need advice or any type of advice, relationship, whatever. All right. Thank you. All right, bro. All right. Ask Yee. 800-585-1051.
If you need advice or any type of advice, relationship, whatever, hit Yee right now.
It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne
Degas. We are The Breakfast Club. We're in the middle of Ask Yee. We have Sarah on the line.
Sarah, good morning. Hello. Hey, Sarah. What's up? What's your question for Ask Ye? So my question is, I have this guy that I met like a year ago and I was hooking up with,
and now he works with my ex, and he thinks that we shouldn't hook up because he works
with my ex, and it's a conflict of interest because he's kind of his manager and so he's concerned
about his job what's your opinion on that is does your ex know that that's your new guy that you
hook up with no and we're not hooking up we did in the past before my ex worked with him all right
so he's basically cut you off now uh no we kind of just kind of parted ways. And we kind of, I want to rekindle things.
But he's scared.
Well, a couple of things here, Sarah.
Number one, y'all weren't even hooked.
You guys were never in a relationship.
Y'all were just, quote, hooking up, right?
Mm-hmm.
And then the other thing is, even before your ex became his manager,
you guys had already parted ways, so y'all weren't together.
Now you want to rekindle things, and it
seems like he's just not interested.
Okay. And so maybe that's
an excuse for him. Well, you know, your ex
is my manager, because let's keep it real.
Guys will sling that f*** if they want
to, and if they don't want to, they won't. Something
like that for some guys would even be exciting,
but if that's more important to him,
he's made that his priority, his job,
or if it's an excuse, either way, he made
a choice. Okay, that
makes sense. All right, Sarah,
good luck. Find you a man that's going to be your man,
not just someone you sometimes hook up with.
Thank you. You're welcome.
All right. Ask Yeet.
800-585-1051. If you need
relationship advice, any type of advice, you can hit
Yeet now. Now, Yeet, we got rumors on the way? Yes, we're going to talk
about some comments that Mario Lopez made during
an interview that has people
upset, and we'll see if you agree or
if you think that there's no reason for people
to be in an uproar right now over these
statements. Alright, we'll get into that next. Keep it
locked. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning.
It's about time.
What's going on?
Rumor Report. Rumor Report. This is The Rumor Report. Talk to them. With Angela Yee. Well, Mariel Lopez was on Candace Owens' show.
She has a video series that she does.
And he talked about a few different things.
Now, you know, he is known for being conservative and he has posted a picture of himself with Donald Trump.
So I guess he's supportive of Donald Trump as well. And so the comments that he made were about believe all
women. Here's what he had to say. I think blanket statements or hashtags like believe women, very
dangerous hashtag because people lie. And sometimes those people are women. And God forbid,
you have a son and a girl is feeling vengeful and just
decides to tell a certain story that's not exactly true right and if we're just supposed to assume
she's telling the truth without any sort of proof evidence and then that's that's extremely incredibly
dangerous and the other way around too what did he say wrong i've said it a million times we should
listen to all women but but believe all proof.
Why would anybody just believe something someone tells them?
What happened to don't believe everything you hear?
There are always three sides to a story.
And yours, theirs, and the truth.
And just because you pick a side doesn't mean you're right.
Everybody lies.
It doesn't matter who you are.
I think the movement is more of a general statement
because women weren't believed for so long.
So it doesn't necessarily mean believe all women without proof it's just kind of a movement like listen to women
believe them now listen it's kind of a slogan now when i say black men don't cheat y'all say to me
well why are you saying black men don't you say black men don't cheat anymore or whatever so so
should women say uh believe all women sometimes or What should it be?
No, you shouldn't say that,
but I think there's been such a serious issue
in many different ways in the workplace,
in everyday life, in schools.
So it is something that's empowering for women to say.
I agree.
Because a lot of times we don't speak out
on what's going on because people don't believe us
and they silence us.
So it's believe all women.
I don't think that we have to get into the specifics
of each individual case.
Of course, I think any logical person would know that, of course, it has to be evidence and you have to go through the proper protocol.
That's not true.
So where are the logical people then?
You can't just put somebody you can't put somebody in jail for something without a trial.
Right.
Without even sentencing them.
We've seen so many people get canceled in the court of public opinion with no due process because of these
accusations. That's what Mario Lopez is
saying when he says it's dangerous. And I've
also seen plenty of women who aren't believed or
who are still scared to speak up. So I don't think that
I think you should listen to all women believe
that's a wrong movement. That's I think it's a great movement
just because of the fact that for so long we've
been repressing speaking
our mind and telling us telling people what's
been happening and not being believed.
That's all. So that's just something positive.
All right. Now, in addition to that, he also went on the show and talked about transgender people and supporting children who identify as transgender.
Look, I'm never one to tell anyone how to parent their kids, obviously.
You know, and I would say you come from a place of love, you know, you really can't go wrong. But at the same time, my God, if you're three years
old and you're saying you're feeling a certain way or you think you're a boy or a girl, whatever
the case may be, I just think it's dangerous as a parent to make that determination then, okay,
well, then you're going to be a boy or a girl, whatever the case may be. And it's sort of
alarming. And my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on. When you're a kid, you don't know anything about sexuality yet. You're just a kid.
Now, Candace Owens said she worked as a nanny in the past and she said children don't always
mean what they say and that they don't have the mental authority to process their own gender
identity. They're both right. Listen, this is media clickbait. Yahoo. I saw a headline on Yahoo
that said Mario Lopez says supporting your transgender child is dangerous.
That's not what he said.
What did he say?
It's simple.
Your child is three years old.
They tell you they feel like another gender.
Cool.
What are you supposed to do from there?
Like they are three.
What you going to do?
Take them out to get the surgery and everything.
They're at three.
They're three.
I take it a step further.
I don't want to see any of that in my cartoons and the the kids' cartoons, whether it comes to sex at all or anything.
I don't want my kids to know. I just want them to watch
cartoons and enjoy it. I don't want them to have to think about
anything but just enjoying their
cartoon. Not man and woman, not man and man,
not woman and woman. No, I want to have that
conversation. I don't know how we got the cartoons.
Saved by the Bells. I don't know. How do we
get the cartoons? I don't know. I was thinking of the
awesome thing that came up the other day.
I don't know. How did we get the cartoons? I don't know how we got the cartoons. I don't know up the other day. I don't know. I don't know. How did we get the cartoons?
I don't know how we got the cartoons.
I don't know how they got the cartoons.
All I'm saying is that a kid is three.
At three years old, what decisions do you allow a kid to make on their own?
At three, any decision.
Any at all.
At three.
Nothing.
Well, PFLAG, which is the National Organization for Friends, Family, and Allies of LGBT People,
went on social media.
They said, it's okay, Mario Lopez.
We're here to help provide more education on what being transgender means,
the difference between sexual orientation, sex, and gender,
and a whole lot of other things.
Now, another person who was on social media, GLAAD president, also said,
it's unfortunate that someone who is involved with GLAAD, like Mario Lopez,
would be so misinformed about trans kids.
I wish that he would reach out to President for some guidance
on the difference between sex and gender identity.
What did he say wrong?
Like he said, if you're three years, this is his exact quote,
if you're three years old and you're saying you're feeling a certain way
or you think you're a boy or a girl, whatever the case may be,
I just think it's dangerous as a parent to make this determination then.
Like, you're three.
I want my kids to be kids.
I don't want them to think
about anything exactly when you're three you're three what do you know about your sexuality at
three you're three like you know what give it some time that's all i'm saying at three like
what decisions do we allow three-year-olds to make so what kind of discussion do you have then at that
point if your child even is thinking about that exactly exactly i don't even know what do you say
i don't even know i'm just saying because i would also think that obviously that must be a strong feeling for a child i don't have
any kids but for a child to come at the age of three and feel strongly enough to want to speak
to you about it then there's something happening there so what do you say at three i wasn't thinking
about anything i know but i'm saying if you're a kid what do you how do you respond to that i have
no idea but i do know that when i was young and I used to hang out around a lot of my female cousins,
I would do things that they did,
and I would say things that they say because they were my influences.
My daughter is about to be, my youngest is about to be three,
and she is not thinking about anything sexual, boy, girl, no.
She just wants people to be her friends.
She wants to play with her Barbie dolls and play with her hula hoops.
But the point is they're not talking about sex. They're talking about
gender identity. Which is even more
complicated. It's the same thing.
They're not talking about having sex. They're just talking about
what they feel like their gender identity is.
Which is even more complicated. If Mario Lopez had
said a teenager, then I can understand
people being mad at him. A three-year-old?
That's not even on their mind. That's not even on their
perspective. A three-year-old?
That's not even no way. My daughter's no way to even perspective. Three-year-old. Come on, man. That's not even no way.
My daughter's no way to even thinking about any of that.
America, y'all are bugging.
Three years old.
He specifically said the age of three.
Three.
My daughter's just mad I ordered a hot dog at hot lunch.
That's the only thing she's talking about.
That's it.
Once again, what choices do we allow three-year-olds to make, if any?
They're three.
Three. One, They're three. Three.
I don't know if it's necessarily them making a choice
or maybe saying this is a gender that I identify with.
Where are they even getting that from?
I don't know.
They shouldn't even be thinking about that at the age of three.
I mean, but listen, if they are, then that says something.
Then that is clearly something that people have to educate themselves on
to know how to respond in a situation like that.
If your three-year-old child comes to you and says, hey, I want to have a sex change.
No.
You're three.
You're going to make a permanent decision for a kid at three?
Come on, man.
I don't think you legally can have a sex change at the age of three.
I don't know what you can legally do in America anymore.
I am so confused at what's going on.
And just because you're a trans doesn't mean you have to have a sex change either.
Just so you know.
I don't know.
All right.
Now, 50 Cent has revealed what the next series he'll be doing with stars is.
And that's the black family, black mafia family drug trafficking drama.
So he said, I have a BMF project that's in development that they'll be seeing shortly.
And it's really exciting because I've had that project for about four years and I want
to make it right.
So he said, stars is providing me with everything that I need to make it great.
So I'm excited about that.
Also, congratulations, because The Lion King has become the fourth Disney film to cross
that $1 billion mark this year.
And you still ain't see it.
So congratulations to Disney.
You still ain't see it.
Y'all didn't sell it to me because you guys said it wasn't that good.
We tried to see the first one first.
Yeah, it just don't have no soul.
That's all.
Like, that's all it is.
See, now that's not really encouraging me. It just ain't got no seasoning. There ain all. Like, that's all it is. See, now that's not really encouraging me.
It just ain't got no seasoning. There ain't no seasoning on
that food. You know what I'm saying?
You go to somebody's house and it look appealing
and you eat, but there ain't no seasoning on it.
There ain't no seasoning on the new Lion King.
It looks good, but it don't taste good.
Beyonce is also in talks with Disney
to work on another film because the Lion
King has been so successful. So
congratulations to her and to Disney.
I'm Angela Yee, and that's your Rumor Report.
All right, thank you, Ms. Yee.
Now, Angela Rye is there.
What up, Ms. Rye?
Angela Rye.
Hi, everybody.
My contact just fell out my eye.
She's out here working hard, okay?
How are you doing?
Well, you can be blind on the radio.
No, she can't.
I know, but I want to see you on my next TV segment, but good morning.
Good morning. Now, after the mix, we got a lot to talk about. Now, you can. I know, but I want to see you on my next TV segment, but good morning. Good morning. Now,
after the mix, we got a lot to talk about.
Now, you went to the debate last night?
Well, I went to the beginning of it, and then
I watched the rest of it. What do you mean?
You just dipped out? It was boring? I mean,
well, we gonna talk about that. Are you wearing
your Marianne Williamson hat? That debate had no season in either.
You wearing your Marianne
Williamson hat this morning? I mean, you know,
I might be wearing one if I had one.
You got one?
Slide it over here.
I saw somebody selling them.
I might buy one.
Oh, my goodness.
Yeah, slide one over here.
I want a beanie.
All right.
Well, we're going to kick it with Angela Rye after the mix at Oatmove Revolt.
We'll see you guys tomorrow.
Everybody else, the People's Choice mixes up next.
And then Angela Rye, we're going to be discussing a lot with her.
So don't move.
It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
Morning, everybody.
It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Th't move. It's The Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee,
Charlamagne Tha God.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now, usually we have
Donkey of the Day replayed,
but today we got a special guest with us.
She's out in Detroit with Angela Yee.
We have Angela Rye in the building.
Good morning.
Good morning, everybody.
The Angelas are here.
Yes.
A-team, A-team.
Now, should we get right to it?
Now, you were at the debates yesterday.
Yes.
And you said you left early.
Why?
Was it too boring?
Did you fall asleep?
Did you have a date?
Like, what the hell happened?
Why'd you leave?
No, I actually was moderating a forum for Black Voters Matter.
And after that, I went and watched the debate.
So I went in early to do a segment with Chris Cuomo's new Facebook watch show and then left after that.
But I watched the entire debate
and I got a lot of feedback for you.
So tell me where you want me to start.
First of all, why do you think it was boring? Because I thought it was
like very, I thought it was full of substance. I thought
everybody up there was actually talking about actual
policies and plans and
legislation. Like why did you think it was boring?
Maybe for all the reasons you just said.
I don't think that anybody really had a strong
breakout moment except for one person that we can talk about in a minute.
But I will say this.
I said all day that last night's debate was white night.
So I think that I was really bored by the representation on the stage compared to tonight where this debate stage will actually look like the face of America.
Right. stage will actually look like the face of America. So when you're talking about people who are going to once again speak for
people of color, people on the margins,
people that are young and old,
the only diversity you had on that stage last night
was young and old. And when there were
three women. And Elizabeth
Warren, she's a Native American.
Oh my God, I cannot stand you
right now. Why are you such a troll?
She said her parents told her that.
That's not true. What had happened was
is when she was three.
Angela, let's start with this.
These debates are important for
last night and tonight because some people were not going to
see their faces anymore. So who
do you think are the people that need to just say, okay,
it's over for me? I'm so glad you asked
that, Angela. So there are a few people.
One is a former governor of Colorado, Hickenlooper.
He did not have a moment at all.
Former Congressman John Delaney, who did not have a moment at all.
They changed his Wikipedia page to say that Elizabeth Warren killed him.
Oh, my God.
That is violent.
And then I also think you have a few other folks.
Charlemagne, your favorite person, Tim Ryan, did not have a breakout moment.
No, he didn't.
I also think that Governor Bullock, I've had this debate this morning with Bakari and Andrew.
You know, Governor Bullock, he wasn't strong to me.
He actually reminds me of a mixture of John Edwards and Joel Osteen, both of whom I think blink entirely too much to be believed.
So I was like, you know what?
I can't do this with y'all.
Like, this really isn't it.
But let me give some kudos since you brought up
the only Native American on the stage last night.
Elizabeth Warren killed.
To me, like, by far, she seemed like she was in a league of her own.
Bernie Sanders did more of what Bernie's done since 2016.
He hasn't done anything new.
His messaging points sound exactly the same.
He's just as angry in his opening his clothes and everything in between. He just did not
stand out to me at all. And I think that the only reason why he advances from this moment
is because he has such a strong base of support. Elizabeth Warren is peeling off every single
day. She has the exact same proposals as Bernie Sanders, but they're more substantive, less
angry, more relatable. She feels
to me very much like your school teacher.
I agree.
I was surprised. You know what I've said about her.
She's so wonkish to me. I can't get into her.
I was into Elizabeth Warren last night.
I was like, I completely feel this.
I think Pete Buttigieg also
did pretty well.
But not remarkable. Not remarkable.
I would definitely agree with that. I think that he was
decent, right? The other person
who I was impressed with last night
was only about half of her
answers, but Marianne Williamson.
Because she tried to tie in, like they would ask
her about, you know,
national security and she would be on education,
immigration, welfare reform,
criminal justice. She tried to throw
everything into an answer.
But she really had a breakout moment when she talked about reparations.
And you brought up when we were offline, Flint, which I thought is extremely powerful.
I loved that the things that I learned in my SoulCycle class or that I'm reading about in the morning trying to get my mind right.
That's her on the stage.
I'm like, she serves such a great purpose.
Maybe she can be over a new cabinet position we create called Secretary
of Mindfulness and Wellness or something.
But not president. She's not going to be president.
Let me ask you a question, Angela. I think her own team knows that.
Angela Rye, listen. But it'd be great for her books
and everything, too. Girl, sell the books. She was the most
Googled person on that stage last night.
Yes. Well, Angela, I want to ask
you a question, Angela, because I want to know
what's more impactful in a debate? Talking about
things of actual substance or saying things that sound good and make for good
sound bites because Marianne Williamson says things that sound good I love it
they go viral things that we agree with but they aren't any actual plans or
policies so what's more impactful in a debate cuz we're saying here we're
sitting here saying that everybody that was actually saying something was born
well let me let me say I actually didn't say that I said Elizabeth Warren stood
out and she had a way to make her policies relatable.
So you weren't listening to everybody else.
Just like our phone.
And she said everybody else was boring.
Except for Bernie Sanders.
Wait, did you guys see?
Wait, y'all keep talking about moments.
That's why Trump is president now.
Time out.
OK, you're angry as Bernie last night.
Listen, did you guys see that moment where Tim Ryanyan says to bernie sanders he's like
he was like you don't have to yell i was like exactly it was a lot of hand movements i was can
i also say this i think that there's something if we're all honest we have those friends who
sometimes they say very little but they make us feel good so i think the energy is important
lenard you charlamagne you say that all the time. Energy is it, right?
If somebody makes your energy feel off, you don't want to be around them.
That was her purpose yesterday.
She was an energy neutralizer last night.
She was talking about toxicity and she did little fingers like she was waving them around.
She had a purpose.
That doesn't mean that she should be president, right?
I just said that.
I do think that there were other people who were substantive, but I didn't like the substance of what they were saying or the ways they presented.
Those people are going to be out of this this election and off the campaign trail very soon.
I named them at the top. Delaney, Hickenlooper. I don't even I can't even remember to say Beto.
What happened to Beto? Beto had a spark. Beto should have been in the ad section.
Child of Vanity Fair. Yeah, Beto had a a spark when he started but now he's just garbage damn it what about yes i think his i think his uh answer on race was strong
especially when you compare it to bernie sanders bernie sanders when asked about reparations once
again brought up congressman cliburn's plan on 10 2030 that plan actually addresses economic
depressed areas and it benefits more republican white rural districts than people of color.
So I'm like Bernie Sanders you gotta listen
to people on your team. I gotta believe the policy
people are telling them that's not the right answer to
reparations. Now what about Amy Klobuchar?
Oh I forgot about her too.
Let's talk about that when we come back. Hold on guys.
Let's talk about that when we come back.
Angela Rye is here.
800-585-1051. We'll talk to her
some more when we come back. It's The Breakfast Club.
Good morning.
E-J-N-V, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha Guy.
We are The Breakfast Club.
Now, if you just joined us, we're kicking it with Angela Rye.
Last night was the debates, and she was there,
and we were talking about how boring it was
and how people were falling asleep in the actual arena.
Evan didn't watch it.
He was watching The Bachelorette, just so you know.
He said it was very exciting.
He said he knew he was going to get his highlights today. He's good. Bachelorette, just so you know. He said it was very exciting. He said he knew
he was going to get his highlights today.
He's good.
Now, you had a question
about Amy Klobuchar?
So some people are speculating
that she might want to think
about being vice president
so she doesn't want to go too hard
at anybody
because she wants to make sure
she still has those relationships.
Let me tell you how.
Amy, like, she fell so flat.
And I think the problem is
she's a brilliant senator,
but she's not anybody
that we can get excited about. Is excitement
all that should be required of somebody that
we want to run for office? Of course not.
But her reputation is trash.
They talk about Kamala Harris'
record as a prosecutor. Check her
record. They talk about her and
the way that she treats her staff. Check
that out. Anybody that deals with folks that way and is a nasty person,
we don't need another nasty president.
Amy, I'm sorry, girl, but you do not have me.
I think you got another two weeks in this race, too.
So Warren and Sanders, they did seem to be on the same team last night.
Do you think there's anything to gain from, say, Biden and Harris doing that tonight?
That's not going to happen.
And I'm going to tell you why.
Joe Biden is in his bag.
Like, he is completely in his feelings
about the fact that she dragged him and had
t-shirts ready for the last debate about
the school busing issue. He's going
to hit her really hard tonight on her
prosecutorial record. It's all fair
game. I think the reality of it is
before your friends right now, your candidates
and he's like been going on talking about
I did this for her. I did that for her.
I can't believe she did that.
The reality of it is, is Joe Biden, sir, while we appreciate everything you've done during the Obama administration, your record is fair game.
And on top of that, this is a contest, man.
There can't be any heir apparent.
We did that last time in 2016.
How did that turn out for us?
No heir apparent.
Everybody gets vetted, period. All Kamala got to say to Joe is,
Joe, nobody on this stage is responsible
for more black and brown people being in jail than you.
Period.
Yep, and then he's going to say something back to her
about her prosecutorial record.
It's going to be a dragon tonight.
And the other thing you need to be mindful of,
Julian Castro and Cory Booker have something to prove tonight.
They have to demonstrate why they deserve to be in this race, what parts of their record they should stand on, and Cory Booker's something to prove tonight. They have to demonstrate why they deserve to be in this race,
what parts of their record they should stand on.
And Cory Booker's going to be like,
I've introduced more pieces of legislation on criminal justice reform than any of y'all.
So he's got to make sure that he stands on that as well.
He's going to get dragged from Newark as well.
Charlamagne talks about how the Democrats are soft and weak and won't prosecute our president.
How do you feel about that?
Oh man, I thought you were going to set up the question
how you normally do. That's what it is.
I know, but you were like, when is he going to
get impeached? He reworded it.
He said the Democrats are soft and not impeached
and the president, they're weak, they're soft, they're
cowards, and they're suckers.
I could have said that myself.
I'm asking the impeached president.
So now what about impeachment? What do you think?
So here is the silver line
in the cloud, Envy. Finally,
there's close to a majority
of the Democratic caucus who want
to impeach the president. I believe the count
is now at
116 Democrats who are in
favor of impeachment.
You know that Robert Mueller testified
just last week. I lied. It's 114,
according to the Washington Post. But Robert Mueller just testified last week. His performance
was lackluster. He wasn't totally familiar with two volumes of the report. To his credit,
I read all 400 some pages on my podcast. It's a lot to be familiar with. But I also think it's
important to note some of the moments he did have. Robert Mueller said over the course of my career,
I've seen a number of challenges to our democracy, the Russian government's efforts to note some of the moments he did have. Robert Mueller said, over the course of my career, I've seen a number of challenges to our democracy.
The Russian government's efforts to interfere in our election
is among the most serious.
At this point, by my tally,
there are several reasons why Donald Trump should be impeached
and could be impeached.
Some of those include making false and misleading statements
under and not under oath.
Robert Mueller talked about that
specifically to answering Val Demings' question.
Val Demings is a member of Congress from Florida.
Sexual assault, we know how many accusers he has.
Obstructing and impeding an official proceeding.
We know he's done that.
That has been documented and recorded in this report.
Charges of income tax evasion, we don't have proof,
but we won't know unless they go forward with an impeachment inquiry because they're not complying with the congressional subpoenas. The only way
they could document whether or not there's been any form of tax evasion is if he finally has to
turn over those tax returns. There's a reason why he failed to do that both in the 2016 election
and now. The final reason I would suggest is an abuse and misuse of power. If there is no abuse of power in the type of racism and bigotry and xenophobia he spews from the bully pulpit,
from what he does on Twitter every day, from the attacks on members of Congress that have resulted in death threats,
I don't know what is.
There are reasons that 114 number needs to increase.
Justin Amish, who just left the Republican Party and became an independent, is the only Republican,
the only conservative who stood up and said it's time to impeach him based on what is in the four corners of the document of this report.
I have a podcast about this now.
It's my closing argument.
It's uploaded today.
Check it out because I know we don't have time.
Can I ask one quick question?
No.
Do you think election security should have been discussed on that stage last night? Because they're telling everybody
to vote in 2020. Of course!
We don't even know if our votes are going to count
because of all the Russian interference.
So why is nobody addressing it?
Okay, so here are a couple of things.
Our votes count, but
more important than our votes right now,
it is us holding
members of Congress accountable.
We know that Mitch McConnell will not even consider an election security bill.
H.R.1 was passed by the House Democratic leadership and the House majority a long time ago.
It is high time and super important if they are not in the bed literally and figuratively with the Russians to demonstrate that there is no place for election interference. There is
no place for interference in our democracy
and the only way that we can ensure
that we prevent that is by
passing this legislation and
individual one has to sign it into
law. That's going to be a tough hill, but at least
with the pressure of the Senate
and the House, we may have a chance.
We have to start reaching out to the Congress to make
sure that happens. That's our role right now.
How can we comfortably say that our votes
count if the fight is fixed?
We can't. But I think what I'm
saying is, and I hope you hear this,
before we get to the next ballot,
right, there are elections that happen this
year and in 2020. Before we get to the next
ballot, we have to protect the democracy.
The only way to do that is
to ensure that the election security bills that are
in, that have been introduced
are considered and passed. We have
to make sure we're advocating for that. Our votes
will count if we believe they should,
if we advocate for them as they should,
and we don't let these folks, these elected
officials off the hook. Before they are
in the limelight, they're supposed
to be public servants. They should be protecting
democracy. They should worry about
their future roles. I agree. Nobody
is off the table, but what's happening right now
is Republicans have sold out to the
Russians and are like, oh, if we let you
interfere, we're going to win because you see
that your agenda will be secured with
us. That's the whole problem.
