So I'm like to leave them to go see a, you know, World Cup match or like a concert, I got to love that thing. I love it. That's what you're supposed to be. I feel very grateful that I'm experiencing this. That's right. Beautiful thing.

I feel, I mean, I'm face-hyming my daughter and she's in a car. She's like, will you come home, Dad? Damn. Damn. Damn. Damn. Damn. That should have make you shut the whole movie down.

And as I experience it, and I'm early with my family, don't get me wrong. Like, I imagine when your kids start getting into like their late teens, they don't even want to hang out with you. They got birthdays with their friends and things that they're doing. They're going to camp and they're going on a trip or whatever. Maybe you have a little bit more free time to go to these different things.

but every single person that's had kids that I've spoken to has told me about these young stages and every one of them goes by like that says that and they're like what I would do to be back in that stage it goes by like that and they're not sleeping and you don't get to sleep and you're exhausted the whole time and I get it

but that shit resonates with me every single time an older person sees me with my young kid they have the exact set oh goes by fast what I would do to have them at that age again and it's wild because I got both dynamics at the house, right? I got like the whole that man. I got leaving the house.

10, 7, 4. That's right. I got leaving the house and then got the youngest is 4 years old. Yeah. And you're looking at the 4 year old and you remember when the 18 year old

used to be that. But now you're trying to figure out, why does the 4 year old sound like the 18 year old? Yeah. What the hell is going on in the world? These kids are so goddamn advanced.

Yeah. Like in the 4 year old and the 18 year old are like super close. Yeah. It's the wildest shit in the world, you know, to see that. Because when I tell you

it goes by like that, it goes by like that. And I get caught up in these Instagram scrolls. Like I hit one emotional video. And then if you keep on scrolling, it like suggests. You know what I'm talking about? And it's all parenting shit. I was watching some like clip from a Korean zombie movie.

And the dad was trying to save his wife and daughter. And then got bit. And he leaves the train and locks them in the train. And the daughter is crying. Oh, that's what that was? You seen that one? I've seen that shit. I don't know what the fuck was going on.

I'm crying. So he's outside the train. and as he's turning into a zombie, his life, I'll get emotional talk about. You know, it's like he's dying, like the zombie, whatever, but like, it lives, but like he's dying. And the last moments he has.

Right? I saw that shit. I didn't know what it was. Seeing his daughter for the first time having his daughter's little hand grab his. And as he's turning into the zombie, it's so beautifully done. He's smiling.

Like, he's at peace with his life. I didn't know what that was because I was going to sit in that to Chris because I always find like Asian videos the same dress that I do all the time but I didn't I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on Oh man I got like yeah they just You get one after another like I saw once not like that

But it was um a woman like this this stalker person was like Trying to get the child and instead the mom took her life for the child But the mom comes back and you just in like It was a horror movie where you had to hold up a phone and then you see go or something like that. Yeah. So the dad... Pokemon?

No. Remember how the Pokemon shit used to be when you had to hold up the phone and you see Pokemon's all throughout the room? Oh, the Pokemon Go. I guess, but I mean, that's how the movie was. And, like, the dad sees his son at night, like, twirling around and nothing's holding him up

and then he holds the camera. What? Is the ghost, it was a gay ghost? No. He came to get emotional. I know. Don't try to get emotional, man. This guy is a roadblock.

He's a speedbunk. Every time you're about to get into a crying situation, he's going to be there, boom, and fuck your whole shit up. But he's like the ghost are twirling. Don't even try to do it. Can I be honest with you? I got no fucking clue what you're saying right now. Zero clue.

Basically, in the movie, they had the horrible phone to see the ghost, right? Yeah. So the ghost is trying to take the child. The mom took her life instead, like, because the ghost, I guess, was lonelier. It was some of them shit. But so then the dad one night sees, the mom's going already, right? So one night the dad sees his son just twirling around.

Nothing's holding him. And then he puts the phone up and he sees his, it was the mom, like playing with him. Oh, shit. Damn. So the mom was dead. Yes. Yeah. And then that was her playing with the cat.

I'm like, oh my God, which made me not even want to say it no more. But then you did say it immediately to as many people that asked. Exactly.

I couldn't help it. It took me back to when I was in like 20-something years old and before the internet and before social media growing up in a small town. and you would say a rumor about somebody that was hilarious, but it sounded true and everybody would run with it. Yeah. Oh, my God. I heard a lot of good ones.

First of all, it's still happening now. And you know it's good when it comes back to you. So you be somewhere and you be like, yo, did you hear that such and such? This happened to something like, no, for real. He's like, who told you that shit? Look how happy he gets. Like, oh, my gosh. This guy is crazy.

Let me tell you. He really is. You guys really crazy. We're taping this on a Wednesday. Yeah. We went to a con, the last concert we went to was on Monday. Okay. Yeah.

Right. Technically. Yeah. There's nothing like real life events. Yes. And I know that, you know, everybody says real life events are coming back. I'm here to tell you all that real life events never win anywhere. No.

I just think that people now are appreciating those real life events and that real connection more than ever. Because the dopamine hit that I felt. all weekend. Like, I'm still on a high from the weekend. Mind you, I had no plans to go all weekend. So you went Friday? Friday was the night. Friday I had a plan to go on. I'm like, yo, we got a suite for Friday night. We're being the suite. Got my folks in the suite. You know, we're going to have a good time. I wanted to see reasonable doubt. I'm like, yo, reasonable doubt. That's Hoves' first album. That's the album that laid the foundation for everything. I just knew he was going to pour his all into that show, right? I couldn't wait to see it.

but the high I got Friday night but it wasn't just reasonable doubt he played other stuff too he did it the right way because one thing that he realized is that damn she did that shit like we're in fucking jail

like she did like who that was crazy what the fuck was that just now but I went on Friday because I wanted to hear reasonable doubt but the way Jay did his set, he knew that reasonable doubt was for the core fans. He's fully aware of reasonable doubt of the album that sold 40-something thousand the first week. He's fully aware that reasonable doubt

was for the hip-hop fans because it's not like that crowd was singing every word to those songs, but the show was so well put together. The show was so cinematic that it was like watching a movie. It was like watching a story. I liken it to, this is like when the bad guy actually wins at the end of the movie doesn't get caught up doesn't get locked up doesn't die and then lives long enough to even change his life

but he's just showing you his origin story and the shit was just exciting to watch but in between those reasonable doubt song he would do something that was a little bit more palatable to the mainstream audience like just something people knew so it just kept you engaged

the whole fucking time. But I had such a high from Friday night down when I was like, damn, I was, you know, I'm good, I'm good. I'm not, you know, somebody just asked me, are you coming tomorrow? I'm like, no, I'm not coming tomorrow. No, you're coming tomorrow.

You're going to be here tomorrow. Who said that? You work for us. You will be there. Right, okay? My direct supervisor at Rock Nation. You have to be there. Yes.

That's where it says you have to be there. You have to be here tomorrow. And I wanted to be there for Saturday anyway because it was the blueprint. See, I like when artists do specific albums. I like when they say, hey, we're going to do one night

of this album. I went to go see Jill Scott at the Hollywood Bowl. Oh, I didn't realize it was like that. I thought the whole weekend. No. So the first night was reasonable doubt. Second night was blueprint.

Third night was compilation of everything. The third night was the extra interest. So it was just a little bit of everything. So I was like, you know what? I do want to go see the blueprint. Because I love reasonable doubt, but I actually like blueprint better. And it just makes, it's like Reasonable Doubt is his first album, the one that laid the foundation, but Blueprint is arguably his best album, even though now I love 4-44-4.

But I'm like, yo, all right, I'm going to go see the blueprint. That night was amazing too. But the Blueprint Night was just all about the music. But I do have one critique of the Blueprint Night. The Reasonable Doubt Night, we know the story of Reasonable Doubt. After seeing it Friday, do you feel like you know the story of Reasonable Doubt? Yeah. We still don't know the story of The Blueprint.

Why not? Because the backdrop of the blueprint, the thing that overshadows the blueprint is 9-11. Because it dropped on September 11th, 2001. So when Hove starts the show, which, by the way, I don't even know if, I'm sure people called it, but the show started on Saturday at exactly 9-11. By the time he got, by the time he was doing the World Trade freestyle, he's like, I dropped the same days as the World Trade, it was 9-11 p.m. So the whole backdrop of the blueprint is 9-11.

And Ho even sat on stage about how, you know, this album bought a lot of healing to people. And it was kind of like an escape. But we know that's not why he made that album. Of course, yeah. So when somebody gets five mics in the source at the time when mics actually meant something. And at the time when, you know, you hear this album and you was like, yo, this is probably Hoves' best work. And we still look at it as this might be Hoves' best work. I want to know what the story was, especially when they said it took them a, you know,

that they said a week or two to record the fucking blueprint? Really? And you got songs on there like takeover, right? So think about where his mind said was. Did he play that? Nah. He played the instrumental, but he didn't play the song. But you got songs on there like Takeover.

You got songs on there like, Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City where he's addressing a bunch of critics. You got songs like Renegade where he's addressing a bunch of critics. Like what was going on in his mind during that time? That he said, I'm going to record,

arguably, my best body of your work. You don't know is on that album. Like, song cry is on that album. Never changed on that. Are he talking filthy? The rule is back. He's talking filthy on Blueprint. I want to know what his mindset was.

What's the story behind that actual album? I thought I was going to get that Saturday. I didn't necessarily get that. I got the overarching theme is always 9-11, but we know that's not what that album was about. But went to that, and I'm like, all right, boom, I want to hi. It's like, no, you're coming back on Sunday. You're coming back on Sunday,

because this is history, okay, and you don't know if this is ever going to happen again. Like, you know what? You're right. I'm going to be there. So I come back Sunday, and I want to see how you stick to land. And everybody's saying Sunday was the best show.

Not to me, but people are saying Sunday was the best show. You thought Sunday was the best show? Yeah. Why? Because it just, it had everything, and all the people he brought out, it was just like, there were a couple of verses on reasonable doubt

that I didn't remember. Sunday, I knew every song, word for work. It was just phenomenal. Yeah, for me, if I had to rank the shows, I got two different perspectives, right? I rank the show and my experience. And I think that's what we do

when we go to concerts. You rank the actual production, but then you rank your experience. And this is different because I never thought I'd be going to a concert three nights in a row. I've never done this in my life. At 48, I'm not built for this shit. I'm letting you know that.

I couldn't imagine sitting on that floor three days in a row in Timberland, especially on Sunday. I had to do this Sunday. I don't know if I wore Timberton's. I did wear a Tim's Sunday. But what the fuck was I talking about? Oh. The difference between the show and your experience.

Yes. Experience and production. For me, if I had to rank it production-wise, It goes one, two, three. To me. One, the best production was one. Reasonable Doubt was the best show production-wise to me. Two was Blueprint.

Three was the extra innings night. But if I had to rank it by experience, one is reasonable doubt. Two is extra innings. Three is the blueprint. Because like I said, I was in a sweet Friday and Saturday, which I was happy to be because I could actually watch the production, just sitting back observing, watching the production. But I wanted to be on the floor Sunday night because I wanted to feel that energy from the people.

Nostalgia is back in. but it's not just nostalgia, it's just people want what's actually good. When you have money, you want to make sure what you're spending your money on is going to satisfy you. You know if you go to a Mary J. Blige concert, you're going to be satisfied. You know if you go see Eminem, you're going to be satisfied. You know if you go to see Jay-Z, you're going to be satisfied. You'll spend all your money on Jay-Z merch because all of this shit is nostalgia.

I think that there's another component. Talk to me. I think that... And we just need something to do sometimes. Okay, so there's two more components. One, older people, they like activities. Yes. Because we don't just go, yo, what are we doing Friday?

And when it becomes the super saying moment like this was, it's when the next generation is curious about the old heads

because those artists have managed to remain relevant. That's right. And the old heads are all like, I need to go experience. Every young artist that was there this weekend, the ones that I saw. and not even the not even, I don't want to just say young. Like, even the ones like, like the Wollets and the Fabulousus is the world,

but the young ones like the Ruben Vincennes and all of them, they were all saying, that's what I want. Yes. They were like, I want that. There was aspirations. Yes, that's the greatest show I ever seen, but I want that.

And so she has to track down these aliens to get the antidote. So the guy, the same guys that shoot with the tranquilizers also carrying

And then you, you know, got the backdrop of them he's trafficking girls. Oh, yeah. How are all of these guys trafficking girls, but that's like a C-story in the movie?
