Starting point is 00:01:51 We're working hard. You was in L.A. He was, we took a week off last week. Sorry we didn't tell you. Sorry about that, guys. That's on me, man. I was out in L.A. shooting this movie and it's how's that going man the movie is beautiful it's like i mean the guy is
Starting point is 00:02:05 shooting it like the director's sick and then the guy who's shooting it is like a legend can you say what is the budget uh yeah yeah i think the i think it's out uh homeless high school kid uh becomes the fastest mile runner in america how well a homeless high school yeah what does he eat get into that homeless high school kid yeah how do you become a homeless high school kid yeah how do you become a High School kid. You're homeless and you still choose to go to school? I guess, though, right? To get a meal?
Starting point is 00:02:35 No. You have to go watch it. You have to go watch it. He don't get fucked in nothing, does he? By some adult looking to see if he, you know, what you're willing to do for some room and bored. He's sleeping in the school, though, right, if he's homeless? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:49 I mean, the fact that you guys are asking so many questions makes it feel like, you know, there's some interest out there. What's the name of it? They have the name yet? Running. Running. Wow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:00 All right. Little on the nose. Does it become like a track star or something? Guys, who knows? When does it come out? Who knows, okay? When does it come out? Who knows?
Starting point is 00:03:12 Who knows? They're still filming. It takes so much time for me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That shit sounds like some shit that's going for a fucking Oscar or something. The guy who's making a director is Gavin O'Connor. So did you see a miracle? It's a movie about the,
Starting point is 00:03:29 U.S. team that beats the Russian hockey team. Uh-uh. You saw it, yeah. And then, like, Warrior. I don't know if you saw that one, Tom Hardy, the accountant, Ben Affle.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Sounds prestigious? Yeah, no, he's a beast. And then the DP of it is this guy named Janusz Kerminski. Yonush Kerminski is a Spielberg's guy. So he did say, Prime Ryan, he did. Got you, got you.
Starting point is 00:03:52 He's just an absolute beast. So you got some really cool people to be working with. Got you. I saw people who they were talking. about our Odyssey review. What'd they say?
Starting point is 00:04:02 They were mad that I didn't know Greek mythology. Who the fuck said I knew Greek mythology? Where did you see these reactions? Somebody sent it to me. You know, I don't know. It did came up on my Instagram, though. But what was the criticism that you're not an expert in, like, ancient Greek mythology? I wasn't trying.
Starting point is 00:04:19 You know, I saw it because it was a debate because people were saying, is he supposed to be? They're talking about the fucking movie. But what was the tape? And somebody said that that wasn't Helen Detroit. Yeah, it was. That's what I thought too when you told me. But then it was like
Starting point is 00:04:33 she didn't have a twin sister. Well, they said maybe the movie didn't flesh it out that well. Some versions of the Odyssey They are twins, others, they're just... Got you, got you, got you, got you, got you.
Starting point is 00:04:43 None of this shit is real. Like, we're going off whatever one got written down hundreds of years later than it actually was told. It was a good-ass movie, man. It was incredible. That's it.
Starting point is 00:04:52 That's it. You seen Spider-Man? Not yet, but I heard his fire. Whoa! What you mean? Yo, son. Somebody really? No, no.
Starting point is 00:05:02 What's you mean? Hold on. Hold on. What you mean? And I'm shouting out whoever DM me. But someone DM me, they go,
Starting point is 00:05:10 get ready. They go, get ready for Charlotte to hate on Tom Holland. Listen, because, you know, once a white boy gets some motions, Charlott may got to shut that shit down.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Well, especially if he's married to a black woman. Well, you got to shut that shit down immediately. I will say, give Tom some props. I thought about this while I was watching the movie. Yeah. Did you ask him what he's done for black people? No. Tom Holland and Zendaya might be the only true Hollywood stars. Left?
Starting point is 00:05:41 Who? Yeah. I mean, just in general, like, for what we know as Hollywood stardom, they might be the only two. So what does that mean? A compliment, he still had to shit on Salome in order to give him. Oh, Salome, don't got shit on Tom Holland. No, no, no, no, no, no. Salamie don't got shit on Tom Holland. Let's just hold on for a second. No, no, no. I would like you would define Hollywood star.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Walk outside, swarmed by paparazzi. Literally can't move. Box office. So box office success? Box office success. All right. Not because. I got a lot of love for Tom Holland.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Tom Holland's going to be a $2 billion movie. This motherfucker dropped the, Spider-Man, almost in a billion a weekend. Hold on, hold on, hold on. I got a lot of, because I think Tom is brilliant. Yes. No question. But if we're talking about, if we're talking about box office success, I can't attribute box office success when you're part of the franchise to just box office success.
Starting point is 00:06:43 In other words, you said this before, you were talking about the Daily Show. Yeah. And you were like, you can put people in there and it will work because it's an institution. Can't do that with Spider-Man. Tom Holland is the greatest Spider-Man of all time. It's not Shaddle Tom Holland is unfuck's believable and he's just so charming
Starting point is 00:07:02 he's an amazing actor, he's incredible. What I'm trying to say is is as Tom been put in a position where he's the lead in a movie that has no existing IP and is generating the rev? Spider-Man versus Marty Supreme. Two very different.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Well, I wouldn't even count Marty because I think Josh Safty has right now we follow directors more. It's like Coogler puts something out. It don't even need to be made based on anything. We're going to watch it for Coogler. Josh has got that. Nolan has got that.
Starting point is 00:07:37 There are certain people where you're just going to go see the movie. But Tom is in very rare air that I only want to see his version of Spider-Man. Well, that's fine. The next Spider-Man, whenever it's going to be five years from now, 10 years from now, hard act to follow, bro. It might take a nose dive to be honest with you. Well, this is the Bond shit. James Bond, you get an idea of who you...
Starting point is 00:08:03 Let me get this out, but you get an idea of who James Bond is in your brain, and then they throw someone else in there, and they got to be so spectacular for you to, like, essentially, like, edit out what you thought James Bond was. But you know what? I agree with that, but I also think,
Starting point is 00:08:20 Tom shatters that theory of having to be part of a franchise because we've seen other Spider-Man franchises. Toby McGuire can't fuck with Tom Holland. Andrew Garfield can't fuck with Tom Holland, bro. I think Garfield can't, Toby was a beast. And by the way, they were all in a movie together and Tom still outshined. Listen, I'm not saying. Toby was a close.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Are we going to act like Toby wasn't him, though, during Spider-Man back in the day? During. I thought you're going to act like he wasn't him? I, everybody's a fucking... Garfield, I didn't even... A Chrysler 300 thinks it's a phantom till a phantom shows up, bro. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I know you're not talking. Now we're talking. I'm just saying, you know. Now we're talking about Toby. I thought Toby was a phantom. Shots, I thought Toby was a phantom. No, no, no, no, not. This is proficient.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Listen, I thought Toby was a fandom, bro. The Hollis got that dancing sequence walking down the street that Toby had. Remember when Toby found he got his powers and he got his powers. Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I don't know if Tom got, now listen.
Starting point is 00:09:21 But Tom Holland did that dancing thing with Zandaiwa, he did some show. Yeah. That shit was crazy. Yes, yes, yes. You all remember that. That shit was, that almost lost him his career. You know, like, Tim. That shit was funny.
Starting point is 00:09:35 I couldn't believe it that happened. I was like, what the hell is going on? He did a great job with it. Yeah, it's too good. Toby can't fuck with Tom Holland. Let me just put this out. I can accept Garfield. Garfield is a better emotional actor.
Starting point is 00:09:49 He's a better. dramatic act. I don't know, bro. You're not going to say Tom washes Toby. Wash. Washed. Shish crazy. You're crazy. Yo, shows, I'm staring.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Wash it. You're crazy. You got to see the new one, yo. And it's good. By the way, I liked it. I thought it was a great movie. Who was in the movies with Toby? I don't even fucking know.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Exactly. I don't know. Exactly. Ain't nobody in these movies with Tom either. Santaya. Zendaya. And Dan is like a bit. People don't, she's a bit character.
Starting point is 00:10:22 She's probably on the screen, what, 30 minutes? Yeah, not that much. She's a bit player. Like, and I like Zendaya in these movies because she's his emotional anchor. But, nah, bro. Tom is different. Right. Tom is different.
Starting point is 00:10:32 It's like that. It's like that. It's like that. I fuck. Wait, hold on. I love Tom. Wait. I don't want to see him as Tom Shade here.
Starting point is 00:10:39 I love Tom. And what else is Toby Dunn? Yo, you're being crazy. You are, you're tripping. He's got a lot of stuff. You are, I'm asking a question. All I know is fucking Spider-Dame. What else is told him?
Starting point is 00:10:50 What the fuck else is Tobe? I mean it sincerely. Pull it up. Toby, I mean it sincerely? You're chirping. Told it up. Toby will fuck you up. He's eating this dead at.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Like, hold it up. No, I'm telling you. You sleep on Toby before. I'm not asleep. I just don't know what else he's been in. You think Jonah Hill does your chit-su- Boss baby. He was in the great-cat.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Oh, stop it. Oh, stop it. Boss baby with fire. Boss baby? You'd be a disres smile. I don't know. Look, hold, stop from the top, Look at this.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Spider-Man. Spider-Man. Spider-Man. Brothers. What the fuck did he doing brothers? The Great Gatsby? Are we like depended that we don't know movies here? I didn't remember.
Starting point is 00:11:33 I can't remember him now. Leo was all right. Steve Biscuit? He was in C-Biscuit? Yeah, he was the horse. I thought he was in. Boss baby, Spider-Man, Sea Biscuit. Come on.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Tropic. Bro, I don't remember. Come on, bro. Oh, I thought he was in Lord of the Rings. Come on, come on, man. Be and disrespect, come on, man. That's all I'm trying to say. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Fucking Tom Holland's in the Odyssey, guys. What do we do? Who's the guy that's in Lord in the Rings? Yo, you know how hard it is to be a superhero? And the Rings. What is it? You know how hard it is to be a star of a superhero franchise? Go do another franchise and it actually be good and a hit.
Starting point is 00:12:10 And not once did I wait for him to fucking throw out his web slingers in the Odyssey? What other franchise is he is he going to? No, I said, you know, how hard it is for him to be the, The star of a franchise. And then go to another. Go to a movie like The Odyssey. People are trying to do it. Think about Robert Donny Jr.
Starting point is 00:12:24 He did Sherlock Holmes at the height of Iron Man. You don't even remember that shit. You know what I'm saying? Think about all the stuff Chris Hemsworth has done. He really didn't do that good in The Odyssey, though. Who? Tom Holland. Really?
Starting point is 00:12:35 No, he didn't. Stop. All right. So now, now. What are you on judging you? I want you to show me, and this is no shade because Tom is fucking unbelievable. But show me the massive success that Tom is. carried that's not Spider-Man.
Starting point is 00:12:54 I don't know. Because we know massive successes did Sobie had. We do? I'm not going to do this. I'm asking, I'm not going to do it. School of people. I don't know. That was Leo.
Starting point is 00:13:06 That was Leo. That was Leo, baby. Cut it out. Big Leo was in it. I don't even think. That's, I forgot he was in it. Toby not even on the artwork. I forgot Leo was in that.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Go back to the cover. Go back to the cover. Toby's not going on the cover of, bro. Go back. You're right. You're right. Toby's not even on this fucking cover, bro. You're right.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Stop. Tom Holland. You know why? I forgot he was in it? Why? Because the book, The Great Gatsby, Toby is playing the guy who's the star of the book. I didn't know that. See?
Starting point is 00:13:37 I'm not, I'm tired of experience. Is it Leo in the Great Gatsby? Yes, he is. Toby playing the Great Gatsby. Who's he? Tom, what's his name? Holland. Toby wants to play Tom Holland in a bio.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Chris, what's his name? Tom, what's his name? Oh, there he is right here. He's Nick. He's Nick. No, no, no, Nick. He was Nick Carraway. Listen, I'm not shitting on Toby
Starting point is 00:14:00 because I'm looking forward to seeing Toby in Doomsday. All I'm saying is Tom Holland is the greatest Spider-Man of all times. No, he might be. He might be. But you were acting like Toby was trash. No, not, not, not, not trash.
Starting point is 00:14:12 You just can't fuck with Tom. That's fine if you can't fuck the Tom. But what you were acting like Tommy's a Hall of Fame up. Thank you. You know what I'm saying? That's what I'm saying. But then you, there's a disrespectful.
Starting point is 00:14:21 levels to the hall of faith. Not everybody gonna be Jordan. That's all I'm saying. That's fine. You were trying to act like he was trash. No, no, not trash, just not Tom. He was the best Spider-Man until Tom Hop. He was the best Spider-Man until Tom Hawley. That I can deal with. And Tom
Starting point is 00:14:37 done four of them. That doesn't make an interesting pod conversation. What makes an interesting pawn conversation is what he said initially. That's what makes it fun. Listen, he's done four of them, bro. And listen, I like the new Spider-Man. Yeah. If you're not a fan of comic books, no, no, if you're a fan of comic books, you'll probably
Starting point is 00:14:57 enjoy it. If you're not a fan of, if you're not a fan of the MCU and you're just a casual person going to see a movie, it is a great movie. It's entertaining. It's action-packed. But if you are a stickler like me, it's too much going on, bro. What's a mean? It's too much going on. It's too much going on. And it's shit that Marvel is doing that I just don't agree with. You can't just introduce Gene Gray, bro. Yes, you can.
Starting point is 00:15:19 No, you can. Yes, you can. How? They just now got the rights for, to introduce X-Men to Marvel. No doubt. You're not going to do it when they're already grown. So the only way to do it now, this is her. She just got her powers not too long ago. She hasn't even met Professor X.
Starting point is 00:15:33 They haven't even told us how they ended up in the 616. You can't take an Omega-Level mutant, one of the founders of the X-Men, and just put them in a Spider-Man movie. And when you listen to Kevin Feigey tells you how they decided it at the last, she was the last person. But that was one of the big development changes that we kept going through was who was the bad guy. There was one version of a bad guy, then another version of a bad guy, then a version of bad guy, then a version essentially of this bad guy that was revealed to be a very obscure character nobody ever heard of. And it just wasn't, it wasn't satisfying. And that might be what Tom was talking about, because he said, well, what about this character? And I said, well, we can't use this character, but.
Starting point is 00:16:15 and knowing that all of the journey that Peter was going on has to culminate in his confrontation with the villain at the end, that's when Gene starts to come up. A young person, very similar in age to Peter, maybe a little younger. Peter, again,
Starting point is 00:16:33 who just said, had a mentor in each of the other spider movies, and seeing a young person who did not have a mentor, seeing a young person who has powers, like Peter did, but didn't have an end many. They didn't have anybody to help guide, to help guide. And that is what led and the origin story of Jean Grey in the comics before Xavier finds her, before she joined the X-Men, does have something to do with her sister and something to do with her not controlling her powers. And that is when it really came together.
Starting point is 00:17:03 And then our co-producer, Emily Fong, sitting around the table, said, what about Sadie Sink? And we all went, okay, it's Gene Gray. Like, they were going to go with, like, mindworm or somebody. They just wanted a villain that had power. to take over people's minds and that you turn that in the gene gray? Yeah, but they're going to put the X-Men in Spider-Man's universe. I see what they're doing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:23 I don't like it because what they're trying to do is they're going to make it to wear the snap. Did you see who they thought was going to play for mindworm? Who? Mind-worm in your mouth. Come on, Carla. Chuck, when you get intense, that's what he knows when you go to it, right? He knows comics, God. He loves comics.
Starting point is 00:17:45 looks too much. This curiosity got the better of. Now you got my warming your mouth. When you watch a new rock star, new rock stars or something, okay? But they're going to try to make it seem like the ex-gene was activated because of the snap or something, right? So that's where all of these mutants came from. That is whack, bro. You can't have this whole 10 plus years, 15 plus years of Avengers and all this stuff and give us the X-Men after the fact in the Earth 616. You got to give them a little grace because they didn't have access to the I don't care. They could have introduced the X-Men the same way they introduced the Fantastic Four.
Starting point is 00:18:20 They could have been in a whole other universe. Now you got incursions coming. They could have still been young and all of that shit like that. And then the worlds could have came together. The way they're doing that shit now is whack. Where did Punisher and Spider-Man become friends? When did that happen? And why the fuck did all-
Starting point is 00:18:36 why were all of those superheroes in New York and nobody helped their devil's blind ass? That devil was getting his ass kicked all up and down New York City. One of the shit couldn't show up. Spider-Man couldn't show up. The new Avengers couldn't show up. They said that. Yo, you deal with low-level stuff and we deal with upper-level stuff. So don't-not-mentioned them.
Starting point is 00:18:53 They mentioned Spider-Man and Daredevil. In this Spider-Man movie, there's a poster of a kingpin in the background. Spider-Man's in-between. He does low-level stuff and then the Avengers tapped him out one mission. Don't like it. I have a question. Come on. I'm a question.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Come on. Savage Hulk shows up for this shit, but can't show up for Infinity War or Endgame? This was the best version of Hollywood. But why wasn't he? Why didn't you become the best person to yourself and we needed you? This shit is kind of crazy. I have a question, though. Why?
Starting point is 00:19:20 I'm sorry giving it away. It's a great movie. I'm not going to sit there and act like it's not a great movie. Was it not the best Spider-Man movie? No, it's not. Name one Spider-Man movie. The one before that one was better. Nope.
Starting point is 00:19:34 You don't think so? The one before had all the incursions, all that extra shit. We need all that. This one, it had, this one checked every single box. You know what he wants to say. I know what one you want to say. Which one? Second one?
Starting point is 00:19:45 I know. The original with Toby is the one. I know, no, no, no. I know you want to say it. That's a question. That's a good question. Why did Gene Greene? Spider-Man did not know who Gene Gray was, though, right?
Starting point is 00:19:56 No. So why did she come in like, oh, you still can't sense where I am? Like, they knew each other already. I didn't like, I don't understand that. No, because his power was malfunctioning. And so when his power was malfunctioning, when he was like, the hormones were changing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Then he couldn't censor the way he was censored her. Yeah, but she was talking to him. I'm like they knew each other already though. No. It was just like she was thrown off like, why are you the only person who was able to see when I'm jumped into somebody's life? Well, she did know him because she went to his head a little bit. So she knew a little bit of it. But also, Sprite had nothing to do with what she was trying to get either, though.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Like it's very cool. Spider-Man was getting in her way. Spider-Man didn't know that she was actually trying to get her sister. Yeah. He didn't know that's what she was looking for. Who's her sister? Um, Sara-gray. Once again, they're just introducing fucking mutants to the-
Starting point is 00:20:41 Oh, to the fucking-s. Sauergris. Sarah Gray was in the comics, but she just wasn't. I'm saying they're just introducing these mutants to the MCE and not giving us no explanation. They didn't even tell us why the fuck he was mutating the way he was mutating.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Yeah, that's what they didn't even tell us that shit. He motherfuck just started squirt and come all over the place. Yes, they did. He was going to be puberty. No. But Loula, he just heart-proofing. All they said was his arachnid DNA was fucking acting up. How?
Starting point is 00:21:08 Why? They show us that, hey, this is the lifespan of a spider. so this is going to happen to him in his lifetime. That shit's silly. Oh, you wasn't paying attention. That shit was phenomenal. By the way, in the comic book, I've seen that. And that happened.
Starting point is 00:21:20 They did a better, and I know you can't be right on par with the comic books, but at least give me a little bit more detail. At least show me a little bit. That would have been a good way to explain mutation because they could have said, yo, there was something that happened from the Hulk was there. Hulk lived through all of that. Both of them did. They could have said it was something from the snap that's causing mutations.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Now you're like, oh, Okay, now I see why Gene Gray is here. They just said, here, here's some fun shit. Here's Punisher. Here's Gene Gray. Here's the Hulk. Here's a lot of action. It was good.
Starting point is 00:21:52 No complaints. Great. You're going to love it if you go see it. But as a comic book guy, as a Marvel cinematic universe guy, a lot more questions. The only thing I agree is, yes, they should have did X-Men in a different universe. I agree with that one. That shit is too much. Why did they introduce it here so that in Doomsday, it could make sense?
Starting point is 00:22:12 Probably. I don't even know how this shit connects it doing with it. I think they did it because they know how big this movie is going to be. And so let me introduce people into the X-Men by putting them on our place. I don't think they anticipated this, bro. Almost a billion dollars in a weekend. I anticipate it's the second highest grossing movie of all time. The last one did crazy like that too.
Starting point is 00:22:30 But a billion a weekend, Alex? Right. I mean, almost a billion a weekend is crazy. Think about it. They did kind of cheat, though. They did kind of cheat. Why? Because they did an early preview to the movie on Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:22:41 So they got two extra days of rollout. This is how big of a star Tom Holland is. The movie theater I went to, literally every theater was showing Spider-Man. Different variations is Spider-Man. RPX version, 3D version, standard version. Like, they had show, I mean, it was just rolling, show, show, show, show, show. Tom Holland and Zendaya, if you asked me, two biggest stars in Hollywood and it's not even close. I think you're right.
Starting point is 00:23:09 I mean, Zendaya quite possibly gonna be in three billion dollars movies this year. She's still got fucking Dune 3 coming out. Yo, that's gonna be the crazy. You see what I'm saying? Well, Tom's still got Dumesday coming out. I don't know if he's in that.
Starting point is 00:23:24 Why would he not be in it? Spider-Man. They haven't announced that he's gonna be in it. But why would his character not be in the movie that he was a huge part of? They're making it seem like he's not going to be in it. He'll probably be in Secret Wars, but he'll be in Secret Wars. I don't know if he'll be in Tobey's in Doom's Day, though.
Starting point is 00:23:37 What's Secret Wars? was the sequel to Doomsay. Toby is definitely in Doomsay. They said Toby's actually in the opening scene. Really? Yeah. From some of this, I don't know if these scripts are real, but he's actually one of the opening scene.
Starting point is 00:23:52 I'm not lying, yo. I promise you. Look it up, Taylor. I'm not making this stuff. I watch new rock stars. A lot of it. I watch new rocks. They said Toby's quite possibly
Starting point is 00:24:04 he's going to be in the opening scene. They said that that was the in credit scene of Spider-Man. They said that's what that represented. We just found the biggest clue that confirms Toby McGuire is returning in Avengers Doomsday. When the spider tracker glitches, we boosted the color grading and saturation, and a hidden number suddenly appears on the screen.
Starting point is 00:24:23 That number appears to match Earth 92683, Toby Maguire's universe. If that's intentional, Marvel may have just teased Toby's return, but here's where it gets even crazier. After No Way Home, Dr. Octopus is finally cured. He's no longer obsessed with the power of the sun, and after seeing Tony Stark's nanotechnology, he could return home and use it to upgrade both his mechanical tentacles and Toby's Spider-Man suit. That completely changes their timeline. Now combine that with the reported Doomsday leaks.
Starting point is 00:24:50 They claim Deadpool and Wolverine destroy Toby's universe, forcing Toby's Spider-Man and a redeemed Dr. Octopus into the multiversal war against Dr. Doom, which means we could finally see Toby McGuire's Spider-Man fighting alongside Wolverine, Deadpool, and Dr. Octopus against Dr. Doom himself. If these reported leaks are true, this could be Toby McGuire's biggest MCU role ever. But they did it. The end credit scene was preview to Secret Wars. When Doom transports everybody into outer space. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Or they said that that was, because the Spider-Man stayed in Queens. It didn't move. I don't think. What's the lure to Doom? Dr. Doom, he was the strongest. But what's the lure to him? He's not really a bad guy. technically. He just thinks that the world would be a better place if he ruled it.
Starting point is 00:25:41 But what is, how does he have power? How did he come up? Science and magic. So he blends technology and magic. And how did he come up? Like, did he come up with anybody that we know were they friends as kids and then they separated? Like, oh, I remember. Fantastic Corps. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. He was with a fantastic school. So him and like, Richard, what's his last name? Reed? Yeah. They're like the two smartest people. in the world. Got it. And they knew each other as kids. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Or like high school or college. And then they separate. Reed Richards. So this is kind of like Magneto and Professor X in a way? Yes. Is that Marvel's version of it? Yeah. Got it.
Starting point is 00:26:23 Yeah. Born Victor von Doom in the fictional Eastern European nation of Latavria. Latavria. How do you pronounce that? Latberia. I'm sorry. Latvaria. He was raised in a poor Romani family.
Starting point is 00:26:34 His father, Werner, was a physician. and his mother Cynthia was a powerful sorceress. Cynthia made a bargain with the demon Mephisto for power to protect her people but lost her soul in the process. After both parents died while Victor was still a child, he became obsessed with two things,
Starting point is 00:26:46 becoming the greatest scientist in the world, freeing his mother's soul from Mephisto's realm. His brilliance earned him a scholarship to a university in the United States when he met Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic. The two became academic rivals. Victor built the machine, intended to communicate with the dead,
Starting point is 00:26:59 but Reed warned him that his calculations were flawed. Victor ignored the warning. The machine exploded, horribly scarring his face, rather than admit his own mistake, Victor Blame Reed Richards, becoming one of comics' greatest rivalries. It's going to be good. But I don't even like that.
Starting point is 00:27:11 I don't even like how they fucking introduce in Dr. Doom, yo. Man, why not? Because, man, you can't just get to a Doctor Doom. You got to lead up to a Doctor Doom the same way they gave us a slow roll of Thanos over the last decade. Like, there is nothing,
Starting point is 00:27:26 I'm going to be honest with you. There's nothing about the Marvel universe in this phase where we should be getting a Doctor Doom movie. Hmm. we should be getting the king. Seriously, we should be getting they should have just recasted Kang.
Starting point is 00:27:40 We should not be getting the doctor to do them right now. I don't think King has enough juice. Yeah, it didn't have enough juice. I didn't know who the fuck Kang was. An ant man, nobody liked it. Now, I ain't made people fuck with. They watched it. They made a billion dollars that movie.
Starting point is 00:27:50 But people didn't like the whole Kang story. Oh, they were watching for Paul Rudd. Bro, Earth is so sweet right now. Earth is so sweet right now that the superheroes in New York and just kicked their feet up and let a blind lawyer and run around New York City and try to protect it.
Starting point is 00:28:06 All of those fucking superheroes were in New York, the Hulk, the Avengers, Spider-Man, Punisher, and they sent Jessica Jones going through menopause to fucking help dead devil. She was going through menopause so much that her powers would work sometimes. On and off. What the fuck are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:28:29 They're dealing with low-level criminals. Avengers dealing with aliens. Criminal? Compared to... Okay. So Spider-Man... Dan Devil was fighting the hand. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:40 Spider-Man was fighting the hand. Where was you and that devil needed a hand against the hand? And fighting... Spider-Man? Nah, come on. Come on. I'm saying all that to say.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Tom Holland and Zendaya are the biggest stars in Hollywood. I don't think anybody would refute that. What I'm saying is I'm curious to see what happens when Tom has got to lead a movie that has no... He led Odyssey. Hey, Billy.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Yo. You'd be in disrespectful. Okay, okay. You're being disrespectful. All right. Who was in Odyssey? Matt Damon. And Hathaway.
Starting point is 00:29:14 When the last time Matt did a Billy? Interstellar. Or not interstellar. The Martian. Years ago. Now, hold on. Let me look at Matt. I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:29:23 I don't know if the Martian did a Billy. Tom Hot. Three people in fucking Odyssey are in another billion-dollar movie this week, guys. There's a billionaire boys club in the Odyssey And it ain't Matt Damon Okay It ain't Travis Scott
Starting point is 00:29:38 It ain't Elliot Page It ain't Charlie Theron It ain't Robert Patterson It ain't Ann Hathaway Oh I'm sorry My bad my bad Um There was a little movie that Matt was in
Starting point is 00:29:52 called Oppenheimer I don't know if you Oh shit That was two years Out to the Jewish community Yo What are you talking about? Oh yeah, you won't give him credit for Oppenheimer.
Starting point is 00:30:04 You tell a story, a historical story. Of course, people are going to show up. Oh, come, man. I don't even know what I'm doing right now because it's every episode, every episode. What this podcast is, it's a literal shoehorn, is we will start here close, we will go as far away as possible,
Starting point is 00:30:25 and then by the end, he will just say the first thing that he disagreed with me about. That is every conversation we have. All I'm saying is, you tell me. If they're not a billionaire, yo, you tell me. Is there not a billionaire boys club in the Odyssey that ran it back a week later? The Odyssey just came out two weeks ago and hit a Billy. Now Zendaya freaking Tom and John ran it back for another Billy?
Starting point is 00:30:52 No, it's great. Ooh. Ooh. Mm. Mm. Matt Damon wishes, bro. Robert Patterson wishes. Bro, Paterson's in Dune.
Starting point is 00:31:04 He's gonna run it back for a Billy. You know why Tom better than Robert? What? Clearly. Robert ain't get... Robert got a franchise with a superhero and they popped it off like tough. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Say it again, Robert... Robert got a franchise of an iconic superhero Batman and ain't popped it off like tough. Okay, well, what I would say is, what I would say is, I want you to look at the number of numbers for Twilight. Oh.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Then I want you, the gay vampires. We're not done yet, we're not done yet. Gay vampires? We're not done yet. I want you to look at the numbers. Isn't that gay vampires? Then I want you to look at the numbers. Wait for it.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Wait for it. For Harry Potter. Robert Patterson wasn't Harry Potter? You're not even a thing. I don't even know why I'm talking movies. Robert Patterson wasn't in Harry Potter. I don't even know what I'm talking movies with you. Get the fucking .
Starting point is 00:31:50 I don't know why I'm talking about Daniel Radcliffe with somebody, man. I don't even know why I'm talking about. I'm talking movies, which you were doing. I know who's in movies. Stop. Twilight was gay vampires. They stuffed each other's victim in this, Fever. That's what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:32:03 Everybody got time for this shit you're talking, bro. You know what's Matt? You know what's crazy? I was trying to find a way to hate on Tom, and I can't even do it. That's how good he is. I tried, bro. I tried. As soon as I was like, I got to keep the screen girl.
Starting point is 00:32:18 I couldn't even think of nothing to hate on Tom. The only knock you could ever say on Tom is, has he been positioned with a movie where he has to be the draw. Spider-Man is going to get a certain Maddrault. Oppenheimer's going to get a... The Odyssey. Yo, we went to go see the Odyssey because of Tom, Zendaya, and John. Yo, just face it, Scho.
Starting point is 00:32:39 I didn't even know Matt Damon was in that shit, bro. That's just Tom was in that shit. Because I saw the interviews Tom did when Tom said, yo, whatever Christopher Nolan is doing, Marvel, y'all need to get on board. I was like, oh, shit. I didn't even know fucking Matt Damon was in that shit. Really?
Starting point is 00:32:53 Nah, bro, not at all. Didn't Matt do something with you? Fuck you, bro. That was Matt's greatest role. Listen, listen, Matt hasn't done nothing that great since the Odyssey was the closest thing. All right? The Odyssey was the closest fucking thing, bro. And yo.
Starting point is 00:33:14 He literally left the next day after filming that promo for the special with me. He left the next day to go film the Odyssey. If Matt sold fire. Yeah. Why was Christopher Nolan to draw? Christopher Nolan and Tom Holland is the reason we went to go see the audience. Christopher Nolan is the biggest thing in Hollywood. He's bigger than any actor.
Starting point is 00:33:36 He's bigger than any producer. He's bigger than any studio. Christopher Nolan is the biggest thing in Hollywood. No question about it. Yeah, but Tom Holland makes him bigger, bro. Tom Holland is the Odyssey. Tom Holland. Him standing next to Tom Holland.
Starting point is 00:33:52 Whoever said me that DM about how Charlotte was going to hate on Tom Holland, I just want to let you know he saw it. No hate for Tom Holland. And he's doing his best to now celebrate the white boy in a month. No hate for Tom Holland, but Tom Holland makes it easy
Starting point is 00:34:07 for me to hate on all other white guys. Robert Patterson, not even close. Toby McGuire, not even close. Timothy Shalamee, please. You know, please. Tom Holland, if you didn't have a British accent and you were a swaggy, like, white boy from America,
Starting point is 00:34:23 he would be hating you so much. Best role Timothy Shalamee plays. in years was the role of a Knicks fan. Okay? Role of a Knicks fan was better than Marty Supreme. What else was he in?
Starting point is 00:34:38 What was the Ping paddle movie? What's the shit called? Ping paddle. Marty Supreme. Wasn't he the new trolley and the chocolate factory guy too? Yeah, I didn't watch it. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Look, garbage. What else going on, man? Wait, why are you on Marvel? What are y'all thinking about the new Black Panther? I trust Ryan Couglo. Let me ask you this honest question. Yeah. 100% honest.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Yeah. Would you be comfortable with Tom Holland being black man? Why would he be in there? Is Black Panther? Can't do. Is Tom Holland good enough for you? I mean, there was a white guy that was a Black Panther at one point. Do you think that he's good enough to go?
Starting point is 00:35:15 No, I don't want that in my superheroes. Like, I want, like, even when they're talking about now, having the Black Magneto and Black Professor X, I don't want that. I want to make Magneto Jewish, like he's always been in. Professor X handicapped. You know what I'm saying? Like, I want, that's, the X-Men is the, I was literally having this conversation to want it. X-Men is the one superhero film that they don't have to do any diversity to because it's
Starting point is 00:35:38 already diverse. They got everything you want. Black people, Asian people, handicaps. I'm sure people have asked this question, but like, Professor X has the ability to, like, move his chair with his mind. Yeah. Why doesn't he move his legs with him? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:35:54 I really don't know. That must be a question of people. It's actually crazy. I really don't know, yo. What are his legs made out of them? Why don't you just float? Why don't he just float? You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:36:10 Or go possess somebody that can walk. You can do that too. You know what I mean? Like, it's just, I don't, I don't know. I don't know. I don't want no white black pants. What about black Spider-Man? We have one.
Starting point is 00:36:22 Miles Morales. I know. Do you think that's going to... Oh, yeah. He's all nowhere. He's Puerto Rican. Well, Puerto Rican. black. He's black and Puerto Rican. He's ever Latino. He's Puerto Rican. So that's on the way.
Starting point is 00:36:31 That's absolutely on the way. They got one more Spider-Verst movie, which is going to do crazy numbers, and then they say they're going to introduce the live backs and Miles Morales. Tom Holland said that's actually who he wants to pass the torch to. Oh, wow. I saw, but that's how I wouldn't do it, y'all. There was a- Don't follow that. Don't follow Tom. Don't follow. It's like that, huh? There was a cover of, there was a cover I saw with Spider-Man, I guess, What's a brand new day? And if you look closely, there's like a shoe mark of Miles.
Starting point is 00:37:04 No, it's not. Yeah. That's something to sit the Internet made up. A shoe mark. Why would there be a shoe mark of Miles? Because everybody knows the Miles is the ones. Yeah, that's what it was. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:37:16 I don't fucking know. What else we got, man? What else going on, Shotsie? Wait, when do you rank it in terms of Marvel movies? Marvel movies? Yeah, Marvel, yep. I don't know. I don't think I rank it.
Starting point is 00:37:32 You rank it now. It's not connected to nothing. See, this is what I got to do. I got to stop going into Marvel movies looking for continuity. Like, none of this shit has had any continuity over the last seven eight years. The reason I can't rank it over any of the original Infinity Saga movies is because all of those movies had continuity. Like, I can't put this over end game, infinity war, civil war. I can't put it over none of the Avenger movies.
Starting point is 00:37:58 I can't. I don't know where I would rank to it. I can't put it over to the Black Panther. I don't know, bro. I don't know. It's just a good movie. It's good, but it's good. It's a good movie that doesn't feel like it's connected to anything, at least now.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Maybe later we might connect the tissue. You can't give it up. Do what? If Tom is as great as you say, why can't you just give it up to the movie that you saw? Because Tom, see, Tom can, he's carrying a film like this. You know what I'm saying? So he can be in a film that may not be necessarily... Where do you rank it before I even say it?
Starting point is 00:38:35 What do you rank it? Probably top five. Okay, he thinks it's top five of all Marvel. Not just top five Spider-Man. Yeah. No, it's top one Spider-Man, and then it's top five Marvel. I put end game, end-game Infinity War, Civil War, and then probably Ragnarok, and then I'm putting...
Starting point is 00:38:53 I thought you liked Black Panther, though. It's really good, but it's good in the way of... there would be in probably top ten. It's crazy. You didn't put any Guardians movies in there. Guardians. Those Guardians' players went crazy. Fire too, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:05 I think we don't even consider Guardians part of it. Fire. I did forget that just now. Like, Guardians feels like its own thing, even though it is connected in Marvel. Yeah. Outside of when the Avengers shits,
Starting point is 00:39:18 we don't even really consider Marvel for some reason. But it's incredible. Which is crazy because all the Spider-Man movies, the comp would be the Guardian movie. Yeah. Because they're light, they're campy, they're fun. So far of the Spider-Man's I've seen, they're not fucking with guardians. Guardians on a different level, bro.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Right? Guardians are on a different level. I can't get past a raccoon. The raccoon is the, come on, you know. And this thing is weird. I do. I think it's weird having a raccoon with a gun. It's not weird, a green girl?
Starting point is 00:39:49 But that's because aren't they part of space, so like, why is a raccoon in space? Nah, she makes you. He would be. offended if you called him a raccooter. I know that. But he is so. That's what he is. It's a superhero movie, man.
Starting point is 00:40:04 I don't want to hear nothing about on wokeness or none of that shit in superhero movies. I don't want to hear about what's real in a movie where motherfuckers are flying, bro. It's a superhero movie. Y'all just questions how that guy is that... You know what's even crazy about these movies?
Starting point is 00:40:18 How the fuck do they breathe in space? Exactly. Nobody ever questions how Spider-Man, Iron Man, Chris Evans, breathe in space. They're all humans. No, they got the helmet. What you mean?
Starting point is 00:40:29 They always have stumping. Yeah, I am. No, they don't get on them ships and they mask come right off. Yeah, but on the ship there's oxygen. Not in the alien ship. Yeah. Remember when they snuck in on the alien ship?
Starting point is 00:40:42 The aliens clearly don't. I don't know what the fuck the aliens breathe. Yeah, you don't know. Once again, why are we trying to figure that's a fucking movie? It's a superhero boy. Who gives it? I'm just saying, this is what happens when you just just complained about what we try to figure it.
Starting point is 00:40:53 I know, man. This is what happens when you try to make sense of super-er-examines. Superhero movies, okay? It's a fucking superhero movie. Let the superheroes be superheroes. Look at these pitiful numbers that Robert Patterson has in Twilight. I can't even believe you even pulled those shit up.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Yeah, what are they? Hit them out. Read them out. That's crazy. Read them out. Read them out. The first one. 137 million worldwide.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Second one. Yo. The second one is? Yo. The second one is. 709.8 million. Third one is. All time.
Starting point is 00:41:22 That doesn't mean that they were. Third one is. Tom did that in the weekend. Third one is. 698.5 million. worldwide all time. And that's been since 2010. Fourth one is. Seventh one is.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Fifth one is. That was 2011. Hold on. Hold on. Fifth one is 829. Now I want you to run those numbers through inflation. Yes. And I want you to tell me that that's worth now. But listen, listen. I want you to tell me what in 2009 right after the financial crisis. Motherfuckers lost everything.
Starting point is 00:41:52 And they went in debt to go see. They ran up. They ran up these numbers. But it took 23 years to get to this number. Tom Holland did it in 48 fucking hours, bro. What she's talking about? But you got to... Tom Holland did it over a billion 48 hours.
Starting point is 00:42:07 We got to inflation. Also, buying a ticket back then, a ticket for the movies was like $7. How difficult is it now? Now it's $20 to go to a movie. So Tom Holland's the fucking goal. The opposite, if you know math. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:42:20 Because then the chickens were cheaper back then. Correct. So you got to sell more tickets to make that money. Nah. First of all, first of all, right. Right. Wait, only, the tickets weren't all that. I was working in the movie theater when that was happening.
Starting point is 00:42:33 Nobody's going to the movies now. Tom bought people back to the movies two weeks in a row. Did you just see what he did? Yes. Yo, he just did. He just said he brought back two weeks. Because I'm acknowledged that I know it's three, but fuck that. That was.
Starting point is 00:42:47 Because my body won't let me lie. I know it's three. How do I argue with that guy? Because I know it's three. But for the sake of the argument, I got to say two weeks in a row. You see what I think? I don't even know. Do y'all know what I have to go through?
Starting point is 00:43:01 Because I don't know if my ears and my eyes are deceit. But my body won't let me lie. I threw up three because I know it's three weeks. But for the sake of the argument, I had to say two. But you got up. 829 million in 2012 is about $1.2 billion today. All right. Tom Holland did that.
Starting point is 00:43:19 No. They didn't. Tom Holland did almost a billion this weekend. Almost a billion. What if the movie falls off a cliff? Second? No. First of all, first of all
Starting point is 00:43:27 What's the highest grossing boxed office film of all time? If Spider-Man's number two, what's number one? Avatar. Probably Avatar, right? Yeah, probably one of the Avatar. And then Titanic. I was thinking of the Avatar.
Starting point is 00:43:38 I was thinking Spider-Man, I mean, Star Wars and one of the avatars, I was thinking. No, Avatar. And then Titanic. Yeah, Avatar, right? Which one? The first one? The first one.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Cameron joint is basically it. Shout out the fucking Tom Holland, man, the goat. Starting point is 00:46:59 Okay. To switch it all the way over. Why does that see transgender dolls, y'all? Did y'all see? No, I don't want to see. What happened? So there's... What are they?
Starting point is 00:47:11 Autobots? There's transgender... What is the transgender dog? How come I see? I don't want to see. Those are set to debut in Minnesota classrooms this fall. The taxpayer-funded paper dolls come with genitalia that can be removed
Starting point is 00:47:27 and then swapped out. A therapist at the University of Minnesota Medical tells the New York Post that they spent over a decade developing the dolls. The goal is to help kids, quote, learn about the different options. I don't even believe this is real. I don't believe this.
Starting point is 00:47:43 As a parent, I kind of like this. Tell me why. Because now you don't have to buy different dolls for your kids if they're different genders. So you have a boy he wants to play with a boy. Then it went, why do we even show the genitalia of the dolls?
Starting point is 00:48:03 When did we even show that? When we were growing up, there was no genitalia on the doll. Yeah, it was nothing. Okay, I'm shocked Bobby even had tities, but she didn't have nipples. Bobby didn't even have nipples, okay? Ken didn't have a dick. He didn't have to see, like, why?
Starting point is 00:48:19 What's the point of this, guys? Like, this is rage. I really, I really can't believe. Or bait rage. What's the term rage bait? There you go. But I can't believe we're back on the trans stuff again. literally couldn't believe it with the WMBA shit.
Starting point is 00:48:29 I couldn't believe we're back in the same conversation. It feels like I'm in some, like, bizarreo, what is that Bill Murray movie, Groundhog Day? Where it's just like every three or four years, the same topic comes up and everybody is performatively outraged by it. Now, I didn't hear exactly what Sophia Cunningham said, but the gist of it is she doesn't want biological men playing in women's. But I thought we all figured that out. Like, I thought we all came to the conclusion that it's not hateful to say that there's a genetic advantage for certain people. Well, I always said it should be one per team. But that's before the WNBA was really, really exciting like it is now.
Starting point is 00:49:04 This is, I remember you can go back to early episodes of Burydonidians. I was saying it should be one transgender per WNBA team. They don't need them now. The NBA smoking shit. Like, I love the WMB. Right, right. No, that's a good point. I was about to take it serious and then I was like, well, I didn't hear for that.
Starting point is 00:49:22 No, we're not here for that. No, 15 years ago they were not here for that. 15 years to take it serious. I almost took the bait. Listen, 12. You almost rage, baby. 10, 12 years ago, they might have needed one transgender protein.
Starting point is 00:49:32 One. You know what I'm saying? It's one. It's the one to make it exciting. Now, they don't need it. They don't need it. They got Olivia Miles. They got the Asian Wolston.
Starting point is 00:49:40 You got the Kailen Clarks. You got the Angel Reese. I know the point you're making. They out there bawling. Yeah, I know the point you're making. But yeah, go on. And the league is so good. The women are cheating on each other.
Starting point is 00:49:53 They're getting divorced. Brittany Greiner's on her second divorce. With three kids. Fire. You know, three? Three kids. Leaving broken homes everywhere. They're undressing Paige at the WMBA.
Starting point is 00:50:07 All-Star Games. You didn't see them telling her they bullied her to take her shirt off. You didn't see that? No. And she's just chilling a sports bra with a jacket on. No, man. Yeah, leave that girl alone. They throw and dildoes on the court.
Starting point is 00:50:20 WMBA is popping. WNBA got everything it needs to continue to be a prosperous place. So why have they never taken one of those like smelling dogs? Oh my God. Because you know when they threw the dildos and they're like, we don't know who threw it. Take the smelling dog, have them smell the dildo, and then smell throughout the arena. But it'll be confusing, man, because I know they sell tuning in the arena. But the dog will be confused as fuck.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Seriously, the dog will be so fucking confused. Oh, you're spinning around a circle. You see what I'm saying? Half courts been around saying, I'm going to listen, all I'm simply saying is the WNBA has everything it needs to continue to be a prosperous league.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Number one, they have a great product that they're putting on that floor. And number two, they got all a drama. WNBA storylines are better than an NBA storyline, y'all. Facts. What's the drama going on in the NBA? There's no drama. None.
Starting point is 00:51:21 We still fucking LeBron going to the sister. LeBron going to new teams are still shit people talking about. That's the biggest story. What's the biggest story? LeBron to the Sixers. I mean, Nixon is six. Nixon. It's okay being a one-term president.
Starting point is 00:51:37 There's no shame in that. People are going to look back at Biden better than it feels right now. You guys had a magical run. I'm happy for you. Oh, I didn't even know he was talking shit about it. I know, I know. I just caught it now. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:51:51 Let me sit up, man. Hold on. I feel nice to Chris now because he brought his daughter last week and I realized like, Chris is a real human being, man. He had like a grown-ass daughter. Had a grown daughter. Teasing his guy. Grown daughter. I can't do this. Raised a Sixers fan. I will say this. This is a lesson in authenticity. This is a lesson in resilience. Yeah. For who? For me. Oh.
Starting point is 00:52:16 When the Knicks made their run. I've lived in New York City for a long time. Yeah. people said to me come on man stop being a hater yeah enjoy it yeah go to the watch parties celebrate i said no i said last round they came to my city they stomped on the jerseys they disrespected that's not what being a true fan is about Andrew you've lived in different cities yeah am i going to find any pictures of you out there in a heat jersey in the heat not a single one am i going to find you on anything no you don't do that you don't switch it up no you respect that I respect.
Starting point is 00:52:51 You don't switch it up. I respect that. Even when the entire city is flowing in the other direction, you stand and look. Ten toes down. It looked very dark a month ago. Yeah. It looked very dark for us. Why?
Starting point is 00:53:02 You had Jalen Brown. No. Fucking Tyrease Maxie. We had Maxie. VJ and Bede and a broken down called George. And then something happened. What happened? We got Jalen Brown.
Starting point is 00:53:15 I said this feels different. I'm not used to this feeling. And then what else happened? And then in his. His wisdom, the goat looked around the league. He surveyed the league. He didn't wait for this. I knew.
Starting point is 00:53:28 This is good. The goat surveyed the league and he said, what's the one fan base that stood ten toes down? What's the one fan base that deserves my presence? What's the one fan base that didn't switch it up and flock, like everybody else in the front row of MSG? What's the one fan base where if I bring my talents to that city, they deserve the difference I'm going to make.
Starting point is 00:53:52 And in his wisdom... This is how you talk in your mind? He looked around. He said to Philadelphia is 76ers. Right, right. Wow. I'm very happy for you guys. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:05 It was a beautiful moment in time, but it's just going to be a moment. You think that... So you think that Sixers about to take it up? Taylor, who are you? I'm not a... I'm sorry. I wasn't raised to be a Sixers man.
Starting point is 00:54:15 I understand. Where were you born? Where are you raised? In PA. Philadelphia. Upper Darby? No. Stop getting it wrong.
Starting point is 00:54:22 It's not upper Derby. I know there are some dark moments and you slander the goat. But now's the moment. No, I already said, look, I said if he gives PA a ring or PA, if he gives Philly a ring, I respect him a lot more in a sense. You know, you know, the New York Knicks are the reason that LeBron James went to Philadelphia because I believe. Why do you say that? Because he wanted to play in New York and he saw the love that a team. like the Knicks can get when they bring a championship to a city that's been starved of a championship.
Starting point is 00:54:55 There's only like two for real. I mean, I could be completely wrong, but I believe there's only like two, maybe three completely basketball cities in America. New York. I'm going to say three. Philly and Boston. And I'm going to give L.A. just a little bit. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, Lakers.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Yeah, you're right. You really look at it. Yeah, but nobody's from L.A. That's what I was saying. It's like everybody moves L.A. So you're pretending to be a Lakers fan. I'm talking about the Paul, the Paul Pierce's guys like that.
Starting point is 00:55:26 There are a lot of guys who really the Westbrooks, the hard. I don't know if Philly's a basketball town. Yes, it is. Basketball town. Hello. Can I make an argument? Philadelphia is a basketball team.
Starting point is 00:55:37 Sure. I think Philly is a bigger football town. Yes. Then it is basketball. Yes. But it's roots. We thought that about the New York, too. No, but what I would say, nobody in New York City.
Starting point is 00:55:47 Nobody in New York City. You got to understand. Nobody in New York City, not a single one of us growing up, put on football pads or a helmet. Yeah. We have no understanding of football. Like, the idea of playing football in high school is, like, absurd to all of us. We played one sport.
Starting point is 00:56:06 You played baseball when you were a kid in Little League, when your parents would take you out to Randall's Island. But outside of that, you never touched the baseball. We played one sport, it's basketball. It's the only sport this town cares about. Philly's close to that, though. I would say... Philly's the closest.
Starting point is 00:56:20 Philly's close to that, but Philly got a relationship with the Eagles that, like, a college town has with their team. Let me give you a counter to that. Yeah. I agree with you. There's no question the Eagles
Starting point is 00:56:29 are the number one team in the city, and a lot of that is because they've been successful. They won. But this is the one difference between New York and Philly when it comes to basketball. Philly is a college basketball town. Philly has the big five. They have a 60, 70-year-old tradition
Starting point is 00:56:45 of those teams going. at each other. So they like college. Yeah. So they like college. But for, for example, what I would say is like, there's no style of a Philly basketball player. So for example, you would never go, oh, yeah, he's a Philly style point guard or he's a Philly style. That's interesting. In boxing, Philly Boxes, yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:05 There's a style, right? Broad-strictly and Kenny Anderson, these classic New York City punkers, Kenny Smith. But I think all that stuff is out the window with the internet right now. I can see the point. I'm just talking about culture that freetates. the internet. You know what a New York point guard is, Sebastian Telferre, Stefan Marbury. These are like long legacies of point guards that go went to Bannister or what was the other school out Lincoln or went to Christ the King. Like we got these institutions.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Yeah. Even our rappers hooped in high school, Cam was playing, Mace was playing. Like these- Gilly played? Gilly played. Gilly played, bro. I think Gilly plays better now. Shout out to Gilly. You know, yeah. You know, listen, I was looking at Gilly's, somebody put out of a table. in high school. Gilly was smoking shit. No, Gilly's a Gilly. Like smoking shit.
Starting point is 00:57:53 But even Gilly, I see as an Eagles fan. No, he didn't switch up. He didn't switch up. I'm not saying he switched up. But identity-wise... He'll be more excited when the Sixers bring it home next year. Fair enough.
Starting point is 00:58:03 I guarantee you the highest selling jersey ever in Philadelphia sports history was Alan Iverson. Yes. And probably Dr. J. number two. All right. So let me tell you that... In all the sports, I bet you if you looked it up,
Starting point is 00:58:14 Alan Averson got the highest selling jersey in Philly history. All right, sure. So here's the thing. with New Yorkers love it oh shit see what I'm saying he pulled out the AI
Starting point is 00:58:26 why are you walking around a random a judge wait why do you why well why Chris it's hot what yo
Starting point is 00:58:34 now tell me if you think this take is crazy tell me that you take it's crazy I don't even know if you grew up in New York City this sounds crazy but it might be true like, I don't even really know if you like football if you grew up in New York City.
Starting point is 00:58:53 I think people in New York, it's Jersey in Long Island. Yeah. Maybe some like more far parts of Queens or Staten Island. A little Staten Island. Staten Island. Staten Island a little bit. But like, because they actually have room to play football out there.
Starting point is 00:59:05 You can have, the high school is going to have it. I think if you grew up in the city, city, you like the giants or the jets or whatever, but it's not, like, that's really a suburban thing to like football. So to us it's only basketball. Boston, I would say... Basketball time.
Starting point is 00:59:22 It's basketball because of the history of the Celtics. And because the Patriots aren't necessarily in Boston. Well, to me, the Patriots are Boston. But here's the thing that I don't get with Boston. I never seen people playing basketball in Boston. I never seen a hoop somewhere. I never heard of a pickup run. I never heard of like an iconic place where you could go play hoops.
Starting point is 00:59:43 We got... Somebody just stopped dribbling in Boston right now. They're listening to the brilliant idiots in their headphones. They're like, what the fuck is Andrew talking about? And they're alone. They're in that park alone. There's nobody else. Like, homie from above the room, chef.
Starting point is 00:59:59 That's it. That's it. That's it. Shadowballing. I'm just saying, can you, like, do people play? If somebody told me that there's not a single place to play basketball in Boston outside of the Boston Garden or the TD or whatever it's called, I would believe it. In New York, we have iconic. Pick up.
Starting point is 01:00:15 pickup courts, the Rucker, West Forth, the garden out in Queens or whatever, where like Marbury and Tel-Fair played in the projects or whatever they called that shit. There's like iconic, not even professional basketball. Sure, Philly has Sunny Hillie. You know what I just saw? How many ever heard of that. Oh, come on. You know what they said the highest selling jersey in Philly history is, Chris?
Starting point is 01:00:36 Fucking Bryce Harper. They said when Bryce Harper signed with the 50s 2019, his number three jersey became the best-selling Jersey launch in the history of professional sports. What do we talk about? What the fuck? I'll be honest, I don't even think, I don't even, I would be shocked if y'all even knew the rules to basketball. Let's not get, let's not get, let's not get sidetracked right now. Gilly might be the best Philadelphia that's ever played basketball.
Starting point is 01:01:07 You can't prove me otherwise. Homegrown talent. Yes. Tell me another homegrown talent from Philly. Well, can you name one NBA player from Philly? Rashid Wallace. I can't believe you didn't say Kobe, by the way. I don't count Kobe because he was raised in Italy.
Starting point is 01:01:26 All right, fair. So give me one, give me one raised in Philly. Well, you know, people say Will Chamberlain is one of the five greatest players of all time. Will was Philly. Oh, yeah, yeah. Overbrook High. What are we talking? Oh, yeah, yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 01:01:37 Will, I mean, technically, Will, Kobe? Yeah, Kobe's in it. They literally call Lomeroom Kobe School. Listen, I don't even got to look it up. All I know is if LeBron James wins a championship in Philadelphia, it will be great. It'll be great for the city of Philly. They haven't won a championship
Starting point is 01:01:52 in, what, 43 fucking years and winning a championship for our all-time historic franchise. That's actually... There's no chance. Guys, there's no chance. You got to be so good. You got to go through the Knicks.
Starting point is 01:02:02 Don't let me tell it. They're going to get their hope. Don't let me tell it. What's the one thing that's indisputable... I never heard Chris Rang's voice. I never heard Chris Rangisers. What's the one thing that's undisputable about Lebron?
Starting point is 01:02:14 What do we all agree about LeBron? He chokes? No. Flops? What? Basketball genius. Why? Everything.
Starting point is 01:02:24 It has to do with everything. He looked around. He could have gone anywhere. He could have gone to San Antonio to put them over. I don't know. I don't say the 76's problems all these years has been they've been too stupid. In many ways. I don't know if there was a market for Bronn like y'all think it was.
Starting point is 01:02:40 Oh, my God. Come on. I really don't. There's a financial market, meaning people want to see him play one last time. He's a basketball genius. Let me tell you something. Nobody's worried about LeBron. Nobody on the East Coast, not a single team is going, oh, no, we're playing LeBron.
Starting point is 01:02:55 Why? Because why? It's a little bit of him when he has to be one of the top two guys. You got to be worried about five. You got to be worried about death. You're right. You got to worry about Brinches. You're not worried about Josh Hart on your offense.
Starting point is 01:03:12 Who am I worried about Josh Hart? Y'all don't got no chemistry. I got Jalen Brown. I got a rejuvenated Joelle and Bede. I got the young friends, VJ. Edgecombe. Joe, he's fine. Tops. His needle can go 90 degrees.
Starting point is 01:03:27 He's back. There's only one basketball, bro. Who's going to be the number one guy on the team? Every night's a different story. That's not going to work. That's not how it works. Called versatility. All right.
Starting point is 01:03:36 It's called losing. No. You got to have a Jalen Brunson where you get the rock in his hand. He wants his team to be fluid, fucking liberal. You would want your team fluid. We're going to flow right through the east, the west,
Starting point is 01:03:48 the playoffs. Nah, I'm a beautiful thing. Yeah. See, all, well, it seems like Chris does,
Starting point is 01:03:53 you respect a player that goes to different teams and try to win the ring instead of staying on one team. I will say, I loved what Derek Fisher said. That was hard, and I agree with that. Derek Fisher said,
Starting point is 01:04:05 you're not ring chasing if you're the reason the people get the ring. But you're not ring chasing when you're the guy that creates the rings. Yes. Like, go back in NBA sports history.
Starting point is 01:04:16 It's not about where, like, what team the guy is on. It's about what team, it's about where he is, not the city or the team. Yeah. So, Lou Al-Sinders, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, he didn't chase rings. Where he went, the rings followed. Yes. Yes, indeed. So it's the same, like, when you look at the history,
Starting point is 01:04:43 of all of the greats, it's where they are that the rings go. It's not the other way around. It's not like a ring is sitting in Philadelphia and he's going to chase it. His addition will increase the chances of them getting it. Yeah, they look good on paper without them, but they may not win it without them either.
Starting point is 01:05:04 And they could also come up short with him. I agree. Like, that's not ring chasing. Like, LeBron goals the team and teams, the rings follow him. No, I completely agree. Like, that was actually, I was like, you know what? KD to Golden State is ring chasing.
Starting point is 01:05:16 KD, the Golden State is ring chasing. Because KD never won a ring anywhere and still hasn't won a ring anywhere else. He went to Golden State because Golden State were champions. He won two rings and hasn't won anywhere else. LeBron is won everywhere he went. He's been the difference maker. 100%. So it's the same thing.
Starting point is 01:05:32 He goes to Philly. That's not ring chasing. You can't knock LeBron's rings. No. People try to knock the bubble ring and I think that's bullshit. Do you all respect that more? What's that? What?
Starting point is 01:05:41 Going to different teams and getting your ring. ring versus. It's not about more or less. It's, if you go to a different team and you build the team, you deserve the credit. If you go to a different team that's already an amazing team and they're already winning championships and you win another one with them, it's not as valid. It's going to be one of the biggest points that people bring up if LeBron wins the ring in Philly because he literally won a ring with every team he went to. So as soon as somebody says, man, he's chased, he went to different team to team and he won a ring every time he went to a team. He's going to win a ring with us. And he might.
Starting point is 01:06:11 It will undisputably be the goat. I've always had Jordan above him. No. Really? You're going to play him above now if he wins? Now you're just saying anything. That's crazy. How are you just saying anything for the sake of saying anything?
Starting point is 01:06:24 Listen, LeBron's standing. Who's going to shoot on that team? Like, let's just talk about the build of the team. Like, this is a three-point game we live in right now. I got my young gun. Anthony Simon's coming off the bench. No, no. Give me your starting five.
Starting point is 01:06:38 The five that are going to play the last eight- Tyrese, Mark Maxy, arguably one of the best shooters in the league. Can shoot his ass off. Now he gets a playoff ball with LeBron orchestrating. You got one. You got one. Vijay's been in the lab all summer. What does that mean? Putting on muscle, perfecting his three-point shot.
Starting point is 01:06:55 He's going to be a sniper. You got Maxie. Two. You got Maxie. Brown, a very legitimate shooter. No. Yes. Embeddeed, always a decent three-point shooter.
Starting point is 01:07:05 He better hope that he's out there. He's going to pick it up. I'm going to see him at around 40%. this year. Chris, there's no way Joel and Bede will be playing outside of the perimeter
Starting point is 01:07:15 on this team. He has to go down low. That's the other idea. He has to go where LeBron tells him. That's dumb. If he's still shooting threes on this team...
Starting point is 01:07:24 No, I like him shooting threes. No. I like... I don't. I mean, me personally, I think for that team, you need him on the wing because you need to create lanes
Starting point is 01:07:33 for Jalen and you need to create lanes for Paul. Because otherwise it's going to be to George. No, he's gone. gone. Sorry, not Paul George. Jaylon.
Starting point is 01:07:42 Jalen. J.L. Brown? Now, if he has to take a cat down low and bang him and post him, we'll do that too. Maxie. I'm going to be honest with you, based off what Shultz just said, Nixon 5, bro. How did I think about it? Like, they got to get this chemistry. I already knew they wasn't going to have no chemistry.
Starting point is 01:08:01 I don't think next round. They're out hitting the clubs. They're partying. They're living out of the first round. Oh, my God. Come on. I don't think you make it out of the first round. You don't have any shooting.
Starting point is 01:08:08 There's no shooting. This is a three. three-point game. You don't come back from down fucking 39 or whatever the hell we came back from with going two for two. Well, talk to me. A difference. The thing I did like about the Knicks is the Knicks do take it to the basket.
Starting point is 01:08:22 I think that San Antonio Spurs died on the three-point shooting that game. Because they didn't switch it up in the second half and they just kept shooting, shooting, shooting, and missing. Meanwhile, Knicks was going down there getting layups, getting dunks. We were hitting three. Going to the basket. They were hitting a few threes. But I think it was the fact that the Spurs were missing a bunch of
Starting point is 01:08:38 threes and the Knicks were driving to the basket. That's what I like about the name. You got a hit. You guys aren't ready for maxi off ball. That's what you don't understand. He's been miscast playing out of position. Now LeBron is orchestrating. LeBron is playing point.
Starting point is 01:08:52 He's setting all these guys up. Why would you be playing point? So you have all five of your players on the perimeter? Hey. That's kind of what we did. If Embed has to take you down low and punish you, so be it. Cat doesn't want it with him down low. Cat will smoke M.B.
Starting point is 01:09:07 No. Oh. Come on. The Knicks are going to be so good. It was a beautiful year for the next year. I'm very happy for every day. They're going to be better next year. They champions playing with a different level of confidence.
Starting point is 01:09:18 Every level of confidence. You're not thinking about New York confidence, though. We got new confidence. This is a different type of confidence. I think you guys might miss the playoffs. No, I'm not going to go that. We're just going to sit it out and then we'll... I think you might miss the playoff.
Starting point is 01:09:34 Come on, God forbid, but the B could get injured. Without Embed, that's like, you... You guys are kind of a mediocre... You said, God forbid, and B could get injured? God forbid. I don't wish that on anyone. If B gets injured, we're going to run. Listen, God said, got you.
Starting point is 01:09:49 You ain't even got to worry about that. It's part of his legacy, as part of his destiny. Joel and B., 47 games next year, okay? Starting point is 01:13:42 that come to my 11th annual back to school driving fish fry will be getting spray ground backpacks and school supplies, man. So, yeah, see y'all this Saturday. What you got, Hesachia Walker? Saturday, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Starting point is 01:13:57 Great outdoors fest. Awesome show. Wild venue. outdoors, like insane. So we'll see you guys up there. Halifax, Nova Scotia. I'm coming up there. I'm bringing Mark Gagnon, Camp Patterson, Lucas Zelnick, Rory Gardner
Starting point is 01:14:13 opening up. So it's going to be a great show. We'll see you guys there. All right. Let's get back to the show. What else we got, Taylor Gang? Oh, Saluta. I'm getting a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame, brother. I wanted to bring that up. I'm getting starred in Hollywood Walk of Fame. Unbelievable.
Starting point is 01:14:30 Unbelievable. In the category of radio, next we have a man who is the voice of the culture, a radio hall of fame inductee, and an absolute force. Charlemagne the God. You know, all the digital dickheads out there, man. Tell me.
Starting point is 01:14:49 It's just funny. It's funny to watch because it's not hard to have conversations with people about stuff like this because you can just tell them if they choose to listen, right? So people will see my name along with like, who else? getting in this year, Kiki Palmer, Delroy Lindo, Idris Elbaugh, right, Little Wayne.
Starting point is 01:15:10 And they're like, what the fuck is Charlemagne up there for? Guys, they have a radio category. The Hollywood Walk of Fame has a radio category. So they have radio, music, acting. It's radio music acting. I forgot, I can't remember
Starting point is 01:15:27 the other categories, but they have a radio category. I know y'all think radio is just prehistoric, okay, and nobody listens to it anymore, but that's not the case. And the Hollywood Walk of Fame has an actual radio category. I think there's 2,800 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and like 9% of them are radio personality. So it's just a rare feat. Why wouldn't I be in there for radio?
Starting point is 01:15:53 I'm just saying, like, why wouldn't I be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for radio? Yeah, there'd be no reason not to. Elvis Duran has a star. Angie Martinez got selected for a star a couple of years ago. Wendy Williams has a star. I feel like I should have a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame for radio. You're so good at like knowing what people are saying to think about things. I mean, you look at it.
Starting point is 01:16:16 You see it. Like, you know, if somebody put a post, somebody will at me and tag me, and they'll ask the question, like, why is Charlemagne getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Because there's a radio category. I'm already in the Radio Hall of Fame. I think I'm pretty good at this radio thing, guys. I think so. I've been doing it for 28 years, okay?
Starting point is 01:16:35 Right. Right. It'll be 16 years of Breakfast Club this December. Right. All right? And the funny part is when motherfuckers be like, what the fuck is the radio person? What the fuck is the radio guy getting a star
Starting point is 01:16:47 in the Hollywood Walk of Fame for? Because when they think Hollywood Walk of Fame, they think Hollywood. They think movies, yeah. Movies and shit like that. No, they have a radio category. So, yes, I'm going to get my goddamn star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Starting point is 01:16:58 And for the people who stay other stupid shit like you pay for it, you don't know what you're talking about either. You have to be selected for it first. Then you got to pay for it. Okay? Yeah, what is the... Why are they just trying to discredit? Shultz, come on.
Starting point is 01:17:18 What would the world be if people didn't try to discredit you? Man, I saw a great quote. What are you talking about? I saw a great quote. What are you talking about? What would the world be if they didn't try to discredit you, man? In your accomplishments. But for people who want to know, you pay for the star after you get selected because you have to pay for the actual physical star.
Starting point is 01:17:38 You got to pay for the star to be in the ground. You got to pay for the lifetime maintenance of the star and you have to pay for the ceremony. So it's just like, you know, getting invited to the Met Gala. Like, I don't know if y'all know or not, but these people make donations, right, when they get invited to the Met Gala and it goes to the museum. So, hey, man, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, they got it. they gotta make money too I guess but you don't pay for the star
Starting point is 01:18:04 you can't go there and say hey let me get a star if that was the case it'd be a lot more than 2,800 of them a lot of the award shows are the same way what do you mean like sports campaign in this stuff
Starting point is 01:18:13 you gotta you gotta pay the organization that throws them oh I didn't know that yeah oh wow I wanted to find this fucking quote what's the quote something like um
Starting point is 01:18:23 like like taking pleasure in the in like the criticism of the successful or the downfall of the successful is the drug of the mediocre or something like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:42 Like you're exposing your own mediocrity by taking pleasure in knocking successful people down. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Does that make sense? Yeah, Ron. I love it. Listen, by the way, I love it.
Starting point is 01:18:54 There's nothing more that warms my cold heart than to watch people mad. at me being successful. The time and energy that y'all take to make your videos and send out your posts, thank you. I appreciate you.
Starting point is 01:19:10 Because I keep telling y'all over and over, the algorithm don't know the fucking difference. It just doesn't. The algorithm has no idea why your name is alive in the algorithm is just in the algorithm. So thank you. The downfall of the great
Starting point is 01:19:26 has always been the joy of the mediocre. Ooh. Ooh. So that means that the continued evolution of the great must make the mediocre sick. Right? Or did I just make that up? No, of course, they don't want you to win because there's got to be a reason why they're not winning. Well, I can't wait to tell y'all when the ceremony is going to be, okay?
Starting point is 01:19:53 I want to be there. Me too. Of course. What are you talking about? I got to do it. What do you mean? I hit you up when I saw. And I was like, bro, when is this?
Starting point is 01:20:01 I got to go. I thought you were doing it like last week. No, no, no, no, no. I'll probably wait until like early 2027. Because it's 4 to 2027. Got it. By the way, I don't even know when. Because once I, you know, take care of everything,
Starting point is 01:20:13 then they tell you schedule the ceremony and stuff. But I hope it's at a time where all of us can, you know, pull up. You know what I mean? I can't wait to do graffiti on it. That'd be dope. Yeah, that'd be dope. If y'all don't stick one. one of them WMBA Dildos on his star weekly,
Starting point is 01:20:32 we don't have real brilliant idiots fans in LA. If there ain't a WMBA dildo stuck on that plaque weekly. That's what the money's for. The money is a clean inch. We're going to, hey, I'm starting another fund. I'm starting another fund. Or make the, no mind. It's the WMBA Dildo fund.
Starting point is 01:20:50 Okay? So we need a weekly. You're going to have the most popular star on the walk of a fan. I can't wait. And you know what's so interesting about the star? it wasn't something that I ever thought about. I never thought about a star in Hollywood, which is weird because usually I see other,
Starting point is 01:21:05 like if I see like an Elvis Duran or Wendy, I'm like, oh, that's a goal. I never thought of that as a goal. I don't know why. Like never, like never did I ever think about that as a goal. Because I don't know if it's like, I don't know if it's like a way that we judge radio people. No.
Starting point is 01:21:23 It's not Big Boy got a star. Right, right. Big Bo got star. There are other examples of, success that we would dictate like the gravity of a radio personality outside us, star on the Walker fan. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. At least in my mind.
Starting point is 01:21:37 Yeah. You know, if someone told me like Howard Stern never got a star, I'd be like, he don't have one. But I'm sure he's been offered a star. I don't know if he's been offered because he's publicly bashed the process. Like, he thinks it's ridiculous that you have to pay for it once they select you. Well, who do they expect to pay for chipping up the stuff? street and like inserting the thing.
Starting point is 01:22:00 I don't know. Listen, I respect all sides of why people want them and why people don't want them. I know I'm going to get mine. I mean, it's a small fee to pay for immortality. You know, as long as Los Angeles is here and it will be here for at least another five, ten years. I mean, it's an honor to have a methed-out
Starting point is 01:22:22 homeless person take a shit on your name. Hey, man. Who wouldn't want that? Hey, man. Listen, I'm getting it. I want it. Hollywood Star Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hall of Fame radio personality sounds pretty good to me. It is an unbelievable accomplishment to be immortalized in the center hub for entertainment for the world.
Starting point is 01:22:41 I have no problem with it. What are we talking about? I have no problem with it. I was sitting on my porch and started getting texts and I was like, what the fuck is going on? Oh, you didn't even, you weren't even there. I had no idea.
Starting point is 01:22:53 I had no idea that I had been submitted that, you know, You know, somebody, they have to submit you. Somebody has to submit your name. I had no idea I had been submitted. It was a complete, complete. I had the same reaction as everybody that was hitting me. That was talking shit.
Starting point is 01:23:11 The fuck I'm getting a star for. The fuck am I getting the star for? But then you, oh, they got a radio category. All right, make sense. That's so smart. No, so I want it. What else we got, Taylor? How much can I pay to have your name spelled wrong?
Starting point is 01:23:25 I mean, I'm definitely doing T. Yeah, I thought about this shit. You gotta do it. That's the name. That's the name, right? That's the name. That's the name. Why would you not?
Starting point is 01:23:37 I want you can't do Lenard McKelvey. Oh yeah, why would you do that? It's not the same. Why would you do Lanari? And it's Hollywood, right? My stage name has Ben Shalman. I feel like your stage name should be on the star. It is.
Starting point is 01:23:51 Yeah. Why you act like you wouldn't be? I don't know. I mean, it can be whatever I wanted to be, but yeah. Yeah, I think Charlotte made the guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because every actor who's changed their name uses their actor name. Yeah, Whoopi Goldberg name ain't Whoopi Goldberg?
Starting point is 01:24:08 Tom Cruise name and Tom Cruise. Jamie Fox. Jamie Fox? Yeah, absolutely, 100%. What's Tom Cruise's name? Cruz, Tom. No, what is his real name? It's going to be hollering in a minute.
Starting point is 01:24:19 He's not even going to want to be a cruise in a fucking minute. It's going to be fucking Tom Holland. What else we got, Taylor? His name is Thomas Cruz Mapathor. What? I see why he changed it. Let's do some asking idiots, ma'am. Let's do it.
Starting point is 01:24:40 Let's do some asking idiots, man. Is that real the Easy 800s? Because them shit looked fire. Have you seen them? Let me see. They ain't on front. Them shit right there look fire. Let me see them.
Starting point is 01:24:52 Them shit right there? I want them. They kind of look like Sikoni's a little. bit. They look comfortable, man. This is the first time I've seen him directly rip off a sneaker, right? Yeah. This is a direct rip off of a new balance. A new balance. Yeah, so on your new balance. These are new balance like 9-9-5s or something like that. Yeah. I like the colors and a color way. Yeah. But like the shape of the sneakers is an identical new balance. Yeah. Or like an ASIC. Oh, the ASIC. Yeah, the new ASICs too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're right. You're absolutely right.
Starting point is 01:25:24 Let's do some, let's do these ads tell them. Then do some asking idiots. Also, while we wait, did you know that Gen Z men are being more stay at home and the women have to work? About time. How many millions of years we, you know? I'm working millions of years, man. What is the Gen Z man? What year is that?
Starting point is 01:25:45 My buddy had a funny-ass tape. He's dead. He's gay? No, he's dead. Oh. And he was, he's talking. you got three kids he's talking about like being with the kids and whatever and he was like man we're spending our generation is spending three times more time with our kids than our parents
Starting point is 01:26:07 and past generations like we're the first dads that are just there all the time and uh but we still have the responsibilities of of work and that kind of stuff right and uh what you He was saying his wife, he's basically like, he's basically like, look, like, I never had anyone to learn how to do this from. You know what I mean? It's like, I'm making this up as I go. Like, you had your mom doing all the time with you and the kid. You have an expectation of what you're supposed to do.
Starting point is 01:26:41 We're the first generation being full-time dads and our wives aren't happy with how we're doing it. We're like, who the fuck were we supposed to learn from? Our dads are playing golf. We're going to do other shit. hanging out or drinking at the bar. That was normal. No.
Starting point is 01:26:56 My dad was very present. So was mine. So is mine. I don't have the excuse. I don't have the excuse. But the data shows that most times dads were they're fighting a war. My dad was outside. Dad was outside.
Starting point is 01:27:08 Fighting a war against his loins, all right? He was fucking, my dad had a whole of the family. Yeah. What you're talking about. Ask an idiot. What we got, what we got, Taylor gang? What you got, Taylor, gang? What you got?
Starting point is 01:27:26 What's your guy for? What's your God for us? Taylor gang. What's your God for us? Why you sounded like some boozy just now? What you got for us? What's your God for? What's your God for?
Starting point is 01:27:39 What's your God for? Still one saint says, If both of you had to start your careers today, would you have the same level of success? If both of you had to start your careers today? Would you have to start? I think more. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:55 I think more. Are we starting our career today with all of the knowledge that we've acquired over the last, however many years? Oh, I think they meant just... Randomly? Like, we just had to start now. I mean, I don't, I guess. You're going to have to say, listen, luck is, plays a part in all this.
Starting point is 01:28:12 Yes, it does. So we can't. I never used to believe in luck until recently. What made you change? Because, I mean, I believe in God, first and foremost. I believe in God. And I believe in hard work. But I guess, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:28:24 I guess maybe what's in my mouth. to Alicia Renee, my good sister, Alicia Renee told me this, because I read Joe, uh, Joe Morgan's book, John Morgan's book, I'm sorry, John Morgan book from Morgan and Morgan. Yeah. And the name of his book is, uh, hold on, I'm gonna tell you right now, is, is it, was it, it's not, it's not hard work, it's luck. Hold on, let me tell you right now. John Morgan book is called, yes, life is luck. Lessons from a paper boy and how to improve your luck. And basically, what he says is that being self-made is a myth
Starting point is 01:28:55 and you have to focus on how to recognize lucky breaks, handle misfortune and build a return on luck. But what he actually describes his luck is also too, just God. Like, you know, some things are just, you know, destined to be, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:09 And so I believe, I believe that as well. So I don't want to say I all the way believe in luck, but I just believe that there are these divine breaks that happen. Whether you want to call, you want to call them, whatever you want to call them.
Starting point is 01:29:22 Yeah. There's just these divine breaks that happen for you. But I think they happen for you because they're for you. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like I don't think everybody, I think your path is completely different than anybody else's path. Like you could tell another comedian exactly what you did. It might not work for them.
Starting point is 01:29:38 And it might not work for them. Trust me, I see it. It's one of my favorite things to do. Watch people who put stuff on YouTube and put their stand-up special stuff. You're bad. What? What? What?
Starting point is 01:29:51 I like watching it. I like watching it because I'm like, you know what? I can see why it's not happening for you. But then there's other people who do it. And I'm like, that motherfucker is funny. It's just a matter of time. Right. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:30:02 That's the difference. But that's what I mean when I say what works for you won't work for everybody else because they're not you. Yeah. They don't have what you have. Like, and just because you see it work for, it can work for a few people. I'm sure that putting stand-up specials on YouTube, it has worked for you. It's working for a lot of people.
Starting point is 01:30:21 I can think of Ali's a big and a few people. all those guys like that. Oh yeah, amazing. Those guys are funny. Yeah, I mean, you need to have, you need to have it. You gotta be funny. You gotta have it. You gotta have it.
Starting point is 01:30:31 Yeah. And the formula don't matter if you don't have the it. So I don't know, I feel like we, I feel like we'd still be successful if we had to start the day because that was just in our cards, I guess. Yeah. P-L-R-D-8222 said, what's your favorite summer memory ever? Ooh, I've made some good ones this summer.
Starting point is 01:30:51 Really? Definitely, bro. What you got going on? I told you I've been chasing dopamine all fucking summer. Real dopamine hits. It started with the Jay-Z show going to all. Well, actually it started with vacation. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:02 Being in Anguilla for 10 days, you know, that's my happy place. But then coming home and then I buried next weekend, going to Jay-Z for three days. Yeah. Went to all three Jay-Z shows, which I didn't plan to do. I only plan to go to one. But that dopamine was so high from that Friday and went to all of them. Then last week, or the week before last, went to Vegas to go see GZ on a Friday. Mary J. Blige on a Saturday, dopamine high through the roof.
Starting point is 01:31:25 And then this week was, last week was, I went to go see a great play. Oh, my God. You should go see, fuck, why can't remember the title of nothing? It's every brilliant thing with Tracy Ellis Ross, hold on, what's it called? You know what I'm talking about? It's a one-woman play, but you'll like it because you understand mental health. I mean that too. Yes, every brilliant thing.
Starting point is 01:31:54 Oh, my God. Man, when you talk about art that puts people's anxiety and depression in perspective, in grief, in perspective, oh, and she's the only person, she's a one-woman play, so it's just her. But the audience is her co-host. So when you walk in, inside your playbill
Starting point is 01:32:16 is a number and a line. And so as she's on stage, she's doing the play and she'll say the number. And then the person, whatever number is, you got to scream the line back to her. So she incorporates the whole audience. Oh, that shit is so dope. It's dope. That's risky, though. Whatever you don't pay attention to the thing.
Starting point is 01:32:37 She keeps saying the number. Yeah. Just say nine, nine. Yeah. Yeah. Like 10,000, 32. 10,000. And she does it so dull.
Starting point is 01:32:47 Like, you don't even. realize like is she in a scene though like well it's incorporated because it's called every brilliant thing so she's the play is about her writing down all of these things that she loves and she numbers them you know what i'm saying so when she screams out the number the person screams out the thing and then that keeps the play on everyone in the play gets called on there's no way not every not everybody in the audience but majority of a lot a large part of the audience yeah and she's surrounded on stage by a lot of the audience. The shit is dope.
Starting point is 01:33:19 The shit is dope. So, long story short, and then I got, like, my good sister, getting married this weekend. Like, you know what I mean? Like, so it's just,
Starting point is 01:33:29 it's dope. It's, non-stop dopamine. So this has been a very memorable summer. My daughter's going to college. Like, this has been a very memorable summer. I will remember the summer of 26th. I got the fucking star
Starting point is 01:33:41 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Like, it's a big, yeah, this summer I've been created a lot of memories. What about you? Um, there's like crazy childhood memories, but, uh, I honestly think it's my, my daughter's at an age now where, like, we're really communicating. Yeah. And, uh, it's just unbelievable. It's amazing. You know, it's like painful being away because she can literally go,
Starting point is 01:34:09 when, dad, will you come home? Will you come? Oh my God. Yeah. But like, just being able to have conversations with her, you know, being able to. her to like express what she wants and then go do it. Yeah. Going little like daddy daughter dates. That's been the coolest thing that I can remember. So, for sure. Dope. I went to the Hamptons though.
Starting point is 01:34:27 You other than that I went to the Hampton. Yeah, what did you think? I thought the Hamptons was dope. I get it. It reminds me of the low country. Interesting. It reminds me of like South Carolina. Like the Hilton heads, the Isle of Palms, the kid was, I get it.
Starting point is 01:34:40 I get why if you're in New York, you would want to go to the Hampton. It's a cool vibe. It's cool energy. Food is pretty good. Lobster rolls. Oh, my God. Where'd you go? You love a lobster.
Starting point is 01:34:51 I love a fucking lobster. I don't remember the name of this place. It's shit. The only place I remember is the ice cream spot because my kids made me go there like twice. Oh, the in town? Yeah. Klaus or something like that or whatever.
Starting point is 01:35:03 Something would it be? Budapery. Oh, yeah, Budapery. That's what it's called? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was dope, though. I had a good time in the handsom. What's one aspect of life that everyone takes advantage of?
Starting point is 01:35:18 Time. Yeah. Time, time, time, time, time. You have so much of it until you have none of it. Time. That's the best advice. The nice thing about having kids when you're older is that all the people that are your age
Starting point is 01:35:34 that already had kids and older than you constantly remind you how fast it goes. Yeah. So now I have that in my brain. I'm like, okay, I got to soak up these moments. I got to take this. All right, I'm tired and I'm hung over because I had martinis at dinner,
Starting point is 01:35:49 well, fuck it, let's get up. Because how many years, how much time am I going to have with her at two and a half years old just pushing her on a swing? That's actually made me stop drinking. Interesting. Because of that. Yeah, the mornings you're cooks.
Starting point is 01:36:01 I want to be up. I want to be up. I want to be up with the kids. Like, I don't want to be, just wake up. Yeah, nah, nah, because it impacts everything. Your workout, all of that shit like that. Like it makes you, yeah, I agree with that. time time time definitely uh can you remember a time in your life that you wish time stopped temporarily
Starting point is 01:36:24 absolutely million times every time i fucking had a premature orgasm oh yeah 100 you know what i'm saying like every single time like why am i nutting fast again you know that like god damn can can That's not what they talking about? It's my time. You ask me a question. It is. Like, come on. What about you, Schultz?
Starting point is 01:36:55 I am. That's a good one. I mean, yes, of course, in those situations. You wish time stopped temporarily. I'd be doing that shit, too. What? Stopping time. It's just like Blossom.
Starting point is 01:37:11 I'd be like. Is that what she could do? Yes. Every time I'm in a moment. that I really, really enjoy, I do that shit, yo. Just to see. I just feel like, stop time. I'm dead serious.
Starting point is 01:37:24 I do that, especially on vacation. And time be stopping. What the hell you're talking about? You too young to know who Blossom is, man. I don't think you're talking about the fucking Powerpuff girls. I'm like the fuck she had that. Nah, man. That's the, that's the Blossom y'all know.
Starting point is 01:37:40 That's not the Blossom we know. Next one. Okay, the Blossom we know is motherfucking Mayambiolik. Yep. Who's that? Miami Bialik, okay? Jewish goat! Right?
Starting point is 01:37:54 Okay? Are you all going to explain more? What is it? Go watch Blossom. Oh, it's a movie? She was on Big Bang Theory too, though. Yeah. Yeah, Miami is a legend.
Starting point is 01:38:04 Oh, shit, I really. Don't play with Miami. Y'all are. No, I didn't connect it to. I'm sorry, Bezai Ten Sai. Zah. Chris, that's not like a name you should be saying. Oh, what you're going to do now?
Starting point is 01:38:14 Are we going to get brilliant idiots live in 2027? I just don't. know how. Why? Why didn't you sing that? Because we're busy, man. Yeah, but y'all find, this is about finding time.
Starting point is 01:38:25 People only make time for what they want to make time for. That's true. I like making time for this. I like doing brilliant idiots every week as a podcast. I love it. Y'all listen to us. So why not making it a... We'll end up doing something eventually for sure.
Starting point is 01:38:39 But... Wait for the movie, man. The movie, man. Don't y'all want the movie? Let us cook. Let us cook. Don't you rather have a brilliant idiot's movie? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:48 You know what I'm saying? I got a, I think we should have a scene in the movie where we walk past like a graveyard. Oh, what movie should Christopher Nolan do next? The brilliant idiotous movie, Godfammy. Okay. Yo, Chris. Jay underscore stab 9-0.
Starting point is 01:39:03 We need you, Chris. Your first comedy. Okay. Let's do one more. Not bad. Let me see that. Wait, I know. There is one.
