Now, the good brother Andrew Schultz is not here today. The reason Andrew is not here because Andrew refused to step foot into the I-Heart Radio building because he said it's full of corona. He wanted me to come to his
Starting point is 00:00:45 studio in Brooklyn. I said, well, how do I know that's your spot not full of corona? And he said, you don't. And I said, well, we all taking risk. So being that you don't want to risk coming here, I don't want to risk coming there. So I guess we'll convene at another time. I'll figure out a better solution for next week. So I had to call two brothers that I highly respect, two brothers that I call friends, two brothers who, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:10 when I think about the term industry, right? And me and Waino, we've had this conversation before and people try to look at the industry like it's a bad thing. But we all came up together. Right. You know what I'm saying? And we all have done things our way and created our own lanes.
Starting point is 00:01:23 So I don't know if you can necessarily call us the typical industry Negroes because we didn't have to do what other industry Negroes had to do to get in these positions but the good brother Hovane is here Peace peace
Starting point is 00:01:36 Manager extraordinaire Run the resume down one time Hovane Oh man Manager executive Work with the locks T-Pain Stiles P
Starting point is 00:01:46 Low Kell Little Soldier A bunch of artists man What's the name of the company? Cinematic Cinematic Cinematic. And the good brother, Wino is here.
Starting point is 00:01:56 A&R for Asylum Records, host the everyday struggle. Yes, yes. Happy to have y'all here, man. Hey, you're happy to be here. Happy to be here for us. Where the Booth's mobile phones? You promised to some Boost Mobile phones. No, I just did a sponsorship.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Yeah. I'll take a phone too. I take a phone too. I use an extra phone. Now, Hope, have you been there before? Never, never. Waino's definitely been there before. Wino's definitely been there since we've been doing these segments.
Starting point is 00:02:17 No, I haven't, man. It's like my, damn, it's like my fourth time being on. It's like my first time. I used to watch like, damn, niggas on the fight show, man. I didn't know if you wanted to be talking, ho. You be in the background. 2020, man. Content is the king.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Content is definitely king, especially right now, since everybody's quarantined with this goddamn coronavirus. That's right. And so that's why we here today. And we do a segment now on Brilliant Idiots called Positively Brilliant and What a Fucking Idiot. And it's where we just rattle off what we think was brilliant for the past week and what we think was fucking idiotic for the past week. I'm going to start off, you know, by simply, we know, I'm going to let y'all start off.
Starting point is 00:02:50 What did you think was brilliant this week? I think what was brilliant this week? I see a lot of stores that are opening early so the elderly can come in and shop. I think that's brilliant. That is brilliant. If they have a compromised immune system or you're a little bit elderly,
Starting point is 00:03:08 you come and shop and you ain't got to deal with the rest of us wolves trying to get our supplies. By the way, why hasn't nobody made that a hustle yet? Why hasn't nobody been the person that goes and shops for elderly people where old people, the elderly can call you and you go do their grocery shopping for them where y'all are a hustling motherfuckers at?
Starting point is 00:03:24 Niggas ain't trying to do conjectures, man. They're like, man, elderly, how much they're paying. Hey, that's so people really worried about it. But that's cool, though, because to me, that's like, you know, the kids that come to shovel your snow when it snows real crazy. Like, that's a hustle. If you know you got old people in your neighborhood
Starting point is 00:03:38 and they may need something from the store, go get their groceries, let them throw you a couple dollars and go do their grocery shopping for them. If y'all listen to this right now, go ahead and go ahead and go back. Yeah, go bust a move with that. That sounded like a good one. Wayne, what did you see this week that you thought was positively brilliant?
Starting point is 00:03:54 Positively brilliant. Damn, let me see. I've been kind of not seeing too much going on. Like, I really been just watching television more than anything. I haven't really, really noticed, like, what was going on outside. I mean, one thing that I do see is that the corner stores in the hood is still open, and they don't have lines the way Acme or Walmart has. So it's like, one of the things I think is brilliant.
Starting point is 00:04:18 is going right back to where we started from. You know what I'm saying? It's like, I don't live in the hood, but I had to go to the hood to pick up a few things. Absolutely, but you can only do that because you're from the hood. If you ain't never been from the hood, if you ain't from the ghetto,
Starting point is 00:04:31 if you never grew up in a rural area in South Carolina, you're not equipped with that kind of energy to even go into that jungle. That's why I said in a moment like this, the ghetto people going to, the so-called ghetto people, we're going to be the ones that survive. Absolutely. The ones that are making something out of nothing
Starting point is 00:04:47 for so motherfucking long that got a taste for peanut butter and jelly. Right. And oodles and noodles. Not if you're one of my kids because these niggas, they eat food like it's going out of style, man. I'm like, damn, we just got the groceries.
Starting point is 00:05:01 They then went through a quarter of it. Like, what's good? Yo, I got a cheat code for people. I'm going to share this with y'all. Just to you all my people. Right. I know Amazon is like backed up with the food and all that.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Omaha Steaks. Omaha Steaks? Two days. They got fish, shrimp, lobster. We live. whole mail. You got it on their website? Yeah, Omaha State.
Starting point is 00:05:20 They're delivering it. You'll be there in two days, bro. You're gonna be mad as that when you go to all and you're sold out. And it's your fault. But you know what? I feel for the people though who don't, like, who might not be in the same position as us
Starting point is 00:05:33 that can just do that. You know what I'm saying? Like, we're able to go on and grab whatever we want. I'm really feeling for the people right now who like they live in check to check or living, you know, based on their hours that they get in at their job.
Starting point is 00:05:46 You know what I mean? Like that's the people. I'm feeling for right now. She's terrible. Me too. I mean, you know, Trump's supposed to be doing a trillion dollar bailout, but not just the corporations. He's talking about putting some money in people's pockets as well.
Starting point is 00:05:56 But I'm going to tell you something. I don't even think money matters at a time like this because we're talking about health, right? Yeah. At the end of the day, it don't matter how much money you got in your pocket. That's true. If your immune system is compromised and you catch this goddamn coronavirus,
Starting point is 00:06:09 it's a rap and can't no amount of money save you. Well, you know, it's crazy too. I also want people to stop thinking that like, that if you get the coronavirus, that a xenomorph is going to pop out your chest. You know what I mean? That's how I think it's acting. Like, I mean, there's people,
Starting point is 00:06:23 it affects people who have like respiratory problems and older people mostly, but nobody's talking about the people who are actually fighting it back. You know what I mean? The people who actually have caught it and are doing something about it, not just do the money.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Yeah, it's not enough recovery stories being too. Yeah, it's just like, yo, instant death. This is the narrative that they're paying. Yes. I'm not going to front. I wasn't taking it serious last week. You know what I mean? Chris said something on the podcast last week
Starting point is 00:06:45 that it hit me later on. And I actually text Chris about it. I said, oh, I see what you're saying. Because it's the fact that the health care system will be so motherfucking compromise. The health care system would be so fucked up because there's only 900,000 hospital beds in America. It's 95,000 hospital beds in the ICU. So if everybody's rushing to the hospital because they got coronavirus or whatever else, what about the person who's having a heart attack?
Starting point is 00:07:10 What about the person who, the people this week who was supposed to have surgeries, but the surgeries have to get pushed back. You know what I'm saying? Like America's just not equipped to handle that shit I think I read somewhere It's like 6,400 hospitals in America America's not ready For this overflow of people
Starting point is 00:07:26 That will be in the hospital Because of the coronavirus That's what Chris was trying to tell us last week But it didn't dawn on me till later Like what he was saying So it's not even that the fact that the disease It's so fatal It's the fact that that shit
Starting point is 00:07:36 Will cause problems for people Who actually have real life-threatening problems Healthcare professionals Yeah The doctor's one of them ignorant people that then take it OD series until he canceled
Starting point is 00:07:47 with the NBA When I see the NBA shit happen I was like oh shit It's a combination for me I was taking a little bit serious
Starting point is 00:07:54 but then there's the NBA then Tom Hanks I was like See we gotta stop that I was like I know It's America's obsession
Starting point is 00:08:02 with celebrity I mean you tell me by the time Tom Hanks had it over 100,000 people in the world had it like 4,000
Starting point is 00:08:09 5,000 people were dead and we don't take it serious until goddamn the star big in it The greatest act of all times. You don't take it serious until him and his wife get it?
Starting point is 00:08:18 That's why I ain't going to lie, yo. Nobody in the hood. Niggas is not taking this serious. I think the NBA was like stopping the money. So when you see the money stop, it was like, the white man don't stop the money. God damn.
Starting point is 00:08:28 Hold on, hold on. Something's going on. Right. Baseball follow suit and the NHLs and all the, we're overlooking this. ESPN is just first take all day talking about when it's going to come back. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:40 ESPN is about to start showing baby boy. You know, That's crazy. I'm sitting there talking to y'all talking about you. We saw obsessed with celebrity. I didn't take it serious until I saw one person worried. And that's why that person is positively brilliant. I saw Donald Trump talking about it and I was like, okay, he said it's a hoax.
Starting point is 00:08:57 But I said if he said it's a hoax is probably a lie. I saw all those people die in China. I saw quarantine. Italy get quarantine. Tom Hanks got it. But nothing hit me until I heard Cardi B get worried. When Cardi B said it, when Cardi B got on Instagram and she was worried, that's what I was worried. That's what I was worried.
Starting point is 00:09:14 And that little rant that she did turned into this motherfucking song that I got to put in positively brilliant because this shit charted on Apple. Something that both of y'all can both appreciate because y'all in the motherfucking y'all are executives. Let me hit a Cardi B coronavirus record, please.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Oh, man. It's Cardi's voice. Cardi can make anything a hit. She's hot on here. She can make anything a motherfucking hit, man. The problem, I think that you will have with Cardi is when you try to structure her.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Yeah, you can see. You gotta get that, that's that natural organic energy. You almost got to let her just go in the booth and freestyle and see what you get out of it, yo. I don't know about that, but, um... But, but no, like, it's just,
Starting point is 00:10:03 we live in crazy times, man. Okay. We live in crazy times, it's like, while this is so serious and we, like, we, in the same breath that we're having about how we've taken it serious and all that, here's a song made out of a clip
Starting point is 00:10:15 of her talking about it and everybody's celebrating the fact that the shit is number 10 but people is dying behind it. With the messaging of the song is the truth. I mean the message. Coronavirus. This shit is real. This shit is real. This shit is real.
Starting point is 00:10:29 Think about it. You just said people in the hood not taking it serious. Nagan is not going to take it serious. They're not going to make it to this. It's going to be a mixtape after this with somebody like. You know why they're thinking it's serious not? Because that message is clear. And to the point.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Coronavirus shit is real. Kevin Durant got it. Yeah. Idris Elba. Got it. Motherfuckers that people actually fuck with. Now you just, now what you need is a real hood nigga. I'm gonna tell you, you know it's the fuck to be up though.
Starting point is 00:10:52 A real hood nigga to get it. The past week, my mind been playing tricks on me this whole last week. So the most normal shit, like right now it's like allergy season. I fucking sneeze. I cough. I'm in a car by myself and I'm like, I'm like, damn. I'm all right. Because like I was working out the day before.
Starting point is 00:11:09 So naturally my body is hurting. But then I'm sitting here, I cough and I'm like, damn. Coronavirus! Listen, I've held in 10 cough since I've been ahead Just because I don't want to scare you up A cough is like brandishing a gun nowadays A sneeze is a gunshot Niggas duck when a sneeze comes out
Starting point is 00:11:26 I was in a grocery store yesterday Getting some water, take it to my mom's And we're in the aisle It was like a couple with me Like seven, eight white people And a white lady sneeze Everybody's right Everybody
Starting point is 00:11:37 Hit the fucking deck No, they wanted to fight They looked down like, yo bitch He didn't kill you with him That ain't cool no man Like when you don't say I got allergies, I got Zyrtex in the bag, you know what I mean? And I got reoccurring bronchitis. So when my allergies start fucking up.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Take your medicine before you leave the house. God, damn. Everything you need. You can't win with this shit. And I'm sitting there with gloves on. It might be too late. You was talking about Cardi earlier, though. You said, what did you say?
Starting point is 00:12:06 You said that, would you say you were talking about the other women that's on her heels, kind of? No, I was saying that she got a, you know, she do got to put some, aside from everything that's going on, I definitely want to see her put some new music out. Does she need to put music out? I mean, listen, Andre 3,000 said you can't afford to not record. So it's like... That's a different time, though.
Starting point is 00:12:26 It's a different time, but I don't think she needs to, but, man, we don't want our favorite artists to drop music anymore. Like, I was two years ago. Cardi B was my favorite person before she was my favorite artist. And to me, that's the brilliance of Cardi B. That's why I got her in a positively brilliant second. She was one of my favorite people before she was my favorite artist
Starting point is 00:12:48 So years ago I would say Cardi B is going to be a star I didn't know what she was going to be a star at I just knew she had that star quality It just so happened she decided to give us music But Cardi can do anything She can give us an album I mean she can give us a movie
Starting point is 00:13:01 We probably love it She can give us a TV show We probably love it She does Instagram rants now Just like she used to do back in the day The only difference is now her voice so big They fucking chart I seen her do something over there
Starting point is 00:13:13 I forgot what she posted She had a million views on Instagram and it was 15 minutes. Or 10, it was no, it was like eight minutes. She was a superstar. Yeah, it was insane. She was a superstar. She was a superstar, though, is what I'm saying. So I don't even know if she needs music when she can do stuff like this.
Starting point is 00:13:29 She's about to talk with this shit. I mean, but it's. Hey. Hey. Hey. Who produced it? I am Marquis. This is a hit.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, don't fuck. Hey, you fuck around the CDC is going to license this shit. And this is going to be PSAs all on TV, all on the radio with this song playing. I'm serious. Donald Trump winning the next election, he's going to walk out to this shit. Maybe. Maybe. Yeah, he's a cold motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Maybe. If Donald Trump came on TV today because he's doing another press conference today, if he gets on there today and says, look, Cardi B said this shit is getting real. And so you know shit is getting real. You think he gets the black vote instantly from that? Instantly. He'll get that.
Starting point is 00:14:22 He'll get that. He'll give niggins a thousand dollars and play some Cardi B. A thousand dollars and play Cardi B. That. Yeah. People start saying my president, but that just goes to show you how impressionable. Like, children aren't the only people that are, like, easily impressionable.
Starting point is 00:14:36 No, no. I got to put Donald Trump in the what a fucking idiot category, too, though. Because a month ago, you know, he was the one saying that this shit was a hoax. They got it all under control. There's only one person from China and they got them contained. Now a month later he's telling us that the coronavirus, this shit is real and that's a
Starting point is 00:14:53 pandemic and he thought it was a pandemic from the beginning. It's like this, to me he's an idiot because he didn't even have to put himself in that position. You're the President of the United States of America. Defer to the experts. He fired on experts, remember? That's what I'm saying. You filed all the experts back in 2016. You fired the global pandemic team, but my thing is
Starting point is 00:15:10 just like, I don't know record label shit like that. Y'all are executives. If I here and I got a question, I'm going to just fall back and let y'all handle it. Oh, yeah. Let the experts handle it. But you're not a narcissist. Narcissists don't fall back or appoint people or... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:24 And he's running his office like a label. Like, well, he just hired all his friends. Come on, guys. Like, who are, fired niggas that was in there actually doing shit. And then he just hired a bunch of niggas that just like, all right, man, I've been fuck on me for the other thing. Definitely, yes, man. So therefore, nobody knows what the fuck they're doing.
Starting point is 00:15:44 And now you end up in a situation like this And you got a back, and listen, there's nothing wrong with changing your mind about that. No, no, no, no. When you get more information, it's cool. But the information was there for you from December. Right. But you know what you got to do?
Starting point is 00:15:55 Once you get new information and you make a declarative statement like this shit is a hoax. It's, we're going to get past this. You first got to say, I was wrong. I was wrong. Guys, I was wrong. This coronavirus, this shit is motherfuckling real.
Starting point is 00:16:09 That's it. And you keep it moving from there. And that's why I got to put them in the water fucking idiot shit. I'm going to tell who else I got to put in the what a fucking idiot shit. Meek, I'm not Meek Mill, but Steve Keely of Fox 29 in Philadelphia. I don't know if y'all saw this tweet yesterday, but he tweeted out, breaking. Philly police officers instructed to stop making arrests for the following list of what are considered nonviolent crimes. All narcotic offenses.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Thief from persons, retail theft, theft from auto, burglary, vandalism, all bench warrants, stolen auto. Economic crimes like check fraud and prostitution. You turn this shit into Grand Theft Auto. Do whatever you want to do. Post it. Hamster, then. That's what I'm saying. Dick Mill tweeted out and put Grand Theft Auto Six about to start tonight in Philly. I saw people saying, oh, shit, the purge.
Starting point is 00:16:58 The problem I have with Steve Keely and I got to put him in the water fucking idiot segment is because I have a problem with headline culture, period. Because we all know niggas don't read. My daddy would always say if you want to hide something from a black person, put it in a motherfucking book. No, he used to say nigger. I don't want it's a different one. You want to hide something from a nigger, put it in a fucking book.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Nowadays, people see this headline, and they just retweet, retweet, retweet, retweet, retweet, retweet, retweet. Right. They don't read the details. The details of this situation is, basically, the police say it's going to be a rain check. We're going to detain you. Yeah, what I say, yeah. We're going to get your name.
Starting point is 00:17:29 We're going to get your motherfucking address, and you're going to have a warrant that we will cash in at a later fucking date. Right. It's not the purge. You're not going to be able to just get away with selling dope. So you're doing with, uh, what was my man in the wire? He did that shirt. Remember?
Starting point is 00:17:41 He sold dope on the block and all that. They called it Hampstam. Hamstam. Hamstead. Hamstead. It was like a full block area. There's a block where you could sell drugs on. You could sell drugs and do whatever because they didn't want the statistics to go on the police precinct.
Starting point is 00:17:52 They wanted to look like they were lowering crime. Exactly. So they allowed it for full block radio. Yeah, yeah. I've seen that done before. I've seen that done in the city. That's y'all remain named. That shit is a setup anyway, man.
Starting point is 00:18:02 It's like, honestly, even if you are a criminal and if you're a career criminal, you shouldn't want to want to say, all right, you shouldn't want to say, all right, you know what? They said it's cool. Like, you should be smart. Yeah, like you shouldn't, the fuck is going on out here. This is not for the career criminals. This is for the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the future felons in Philly. The young, the young, the young, the, young, the future felons in Philly. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:25 The young ones who want to get into a life of crime. Let me test it out. But now, they feel like they got that opportunity. They got that shot. And people were mad at me for even reposting that. But I'm like, yo, you can't be mad at me. He's reposting with the white man, Steve Keely. Right, what he said.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Put in his tweet. And the reason I got to put Steve Keely in the water fucking idiot is because you can't just leave out that fine detail. Now, he did put out a second tweet that said the warrants will be cashed in later. But you got to put that in the first one. That's nowhere going to be as viral as the first one. Nobody sees the second one.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Because that's all we saw was that. Nobody sees the second one. Yeah, they saw they show was that. And positively brilliant. I got to say the student who got expelled was suspended for selling squirts of hand sanitizers. I respect your husband. I respect your husband.
Starting point is 00:19:10 That wasn't my kids. What did I teach you? Yeah, for a real. Listen, man. Like, I'm not knocking no kids. Supplying the man. I'm trying to figure out what did he do wrong. Like, what is the, what is the jurisdiction at the school, the rule of the school that he broke?
Starting point is 00:19:23 Yeah. Hey, man. Sticky fingers out a long time ago. You're going to get it from somebody. I'd rather it be me. Y'all never hustled in high school? Drugs. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Stats your limitations. Yeah. No. You never sold candy and nothing? Oh, no, no. Listen. Now, you know what I did do one time? Like when I was in like in the eighth grade,
Starting point is 00:19:42 I stole like two boxes of the fundraiser candy. I did sell them shit. I definitely sold them. It was $60 a box. That was $120 or profit. That's what I'm saying. That's what I used to sell candy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:54 I never did it. Because you want to know why. Like, see, kids now, and we from the generation, the niggas just making fun of you. Like, you get celebrated for selling drugs, but if you were selling candy, niggas are joking on you. Hey, you're just the fuck out of here, candy, man.
Starting point is 00:20:05 This thing is so skittles on the train. They would have laughed at us for that. For real? What? Hell yeah. Fuck out of here. But if we from the sell crack era, if you was selling crack, then that was cool. Like, it's fucked up, but that's just how it was going.
Starting point is 00:20:17 I remember in middle school this dude used to come. His name was Oran, rest in peace to Iran. And he used to bring 40 ounces to school. He would charge. I mean, if you think about it now, it's the most, you know, best way to spread coronavirus. But he used to charge like a dollar and you would be able to take a sip of the 40. Oh, wow. So he'd bring like two or three 40s.
Starting point is 00:20:39 It sounds like a person selling dippers, man. But we would all be on the playground passing that shit around and it would be like a dollar, dollar, dollar, a dollar. He then made $20,000 over $2.40s. That's crazy. Made $20 and spread. First time me and my man started selling weed,
Starting point is 00:20:52 we used to put Dutchers on the nickel bags. We used to sell it with it. We used to give you a Dutch for free. Smart. Oh, that's dope. Yeah, because we just had a line on how to get the Dutch masters, like, you know what I mean? So you would be the best drug deal at a time like this
Starting point is 00:21:04 because if you stuck in the house for coronavirus and you're like, yo, you're doing a drug delivery services is making, Niggas is not stopping that. The drug delivery is going to bring in the blood to? Well, guess what? I would like to go on record to say that me and Hovina, not involved in any type of street activity.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Ever. Right. I'm just speaking all off of hearsay and documentaries I've watched. I don't know nothing about selling drugs. But I'm saying it's like right now would be the perfect time to kick your game up. Yeah. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:21:33 Niggas can't lead a crib. I also want to take this time and positively brilliant to salute. to good brother Wayno and salute to good brother academics for being two positively brilliant
Starting point is 00:21:45 individuals because I don't think that we celebrate the success of everyday struggle enough. Thank you. You know,
Starting point is 00:21:51 a lot of people thought everyday struggle was going to fall off after Joseph left. But I think that what people didn't take into consideration
Starting point is 00:22:01 was the fan base that academics had. Actually, I was here so I could tell them, because I called academics the other night and I told them
Starting point is 00:22:08 this because, you know, I'm a celebrator, you know what I like to celebrate people. I like to get, I don't like to talk behind people back because, you know, you always talk behind people back when there's some foul shit to say. Yeah. So when people are talking good, when we're having positive conversations about people, I want to, I want to say that to him. So I actually called him to tell him that. But it's like, yo, Ack had a fan base before he got on every day, Scruff. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:28 You know, he had built something great because of social media. Both of y'all work at labels. You all know what Act does on social media labels corporations kill for that. Oh, yeah. And they pay for it. And they pay for it. You know what I mean? It's real engagement.
Starting point is 00:22:42 And then him being, him being actually the first hip hop blog on Instagram. What Act followed what Ball Alert and Shade Room started doing. So Act started doing it with hip hop. Like Tim Z didn't do that well. World Star started to do it a little bit on Instagram. But they all following his leave. Yeah, everybody's following him now with that type of shit.
Starting point is 00:23:01 But I appreciate that. I think when people, you know, when Joe left, they was like, okay, you know, everything struggles with me. be a rap. Y'all been on for what? I've been on there for two years now. That's what I'm saying. I'm getting fucking paying you myself. They're going to have to pay you to shut up.
Starting point is 00:23:14 They're going to have to pay me and shut up. You know what I'm. So the show is almost three years old because Joe was on there for like six, seven months. So I, you know, then I think Star came for a little bit. Yeah. And then Waino, and I think the parent on Wano and Act is a great parent just because, you know, I think sometimes Joe Button overpowered act in the conversation and probably didn't respect him enough to actually listen to some of the stuff that was coming out of his
Starting point is 00:23:35 mouth, Wayno respects but Wayno respects everybody, so he respects people enough to listen. Right. You know what I'm saying? And Wino has a great POV of things, and he's got his own experiences in the industry and shit, so it makes for a great balance, but I just don't think that you know, we celebrate
Starting point is 00:23:50 everyday struggle as a platform enough. It's shit is an industry standard. When people roll out their album as part of their plan, they're going on to be a year's problem. You know what? And y'all know me, way before a everyday struggle even existed, I was just trying to figure out what my next thing was going
Starting point is 00:24:05 be, you know, the management shit worked for me and all that. But it's like, for me, this shit kind of fell into my lap. I mean, this was nothing that I worked, like, work to really get. And I don't say that to minimize it. I know it's a lot of people that fucking went to, what's the name, went to school for communications and all of that. And I even seen, like, a lot of people from back in the day that do interviews and all that when I first got on there saying all types of shit about me, like, who is this
Starting point is 00:24:27 nigga? What does this nigga do? Who does he know? What does he done? And it's like, I get it. But at the same time, it's like, I felt like, with everyday struggle, I was thrown into the ocean
Starting point is 00:24:37 and I had to swim the shore as far as learning. You know what I mean? I've always been open as to learning. Like I asked Charlamagne one day like I text him like yo bro, I'm trying to learn how to, he's like, nigga, you're doing it.
Starting point is 00:24:45 Like just keep going. I mean, I don't really trip off people not celebrating it like that. You know what I'm saying? Because I love what I'm doing. Like that shit is the most fun part of my day. Even with academics, it's like I think a lot of people
Starting point is 00:24:57 they talk shit about academics because he don't post their shit. Like that's what it really boys down to and if they really sat down and met the nigga, they didn't know how intelligent. He's very smart dude. Act is one of the most interesting stories I've seen in hip hop media,
Starting point is 00:25:13 you know, since I've been doing it only because, like, there was a point where nobody took him serious. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then there was the point where everybody hated him. And now it was to the point where they need him. You know what I'm about to say, hey, you can't get away from him. Like, you need him, you know, and he's still at the end of the day. I don't even think Act has quite figured out what to do with that.
Starting point is 00:25:35 Yeah, no, listen, let me tell you one thing, bro. Like, he has tons of great ideas, but I'd be telling him just more shit about him just being more present. Because his, I understand it, like, he don't give a fuck about being social with none of these people because he built his self online. Online.
Starting point is 00:25:52 So it's like, he don't have to leave the house and he can still make bread. You know what I mean? And he's doing very good. So it's like, I just be telling him, like, yo, bro, if you met a quarter of the people that really fuck with you, it'd take you to another level.
Starting point is 00:26:04 and he understands that. You know what I'm saying? He understands that. He's making a lot of new content, a lot of new different ideas. Like I said, I learn from them every day. And vice versa.
Starting point is 00:26:12 Like, we trade off on shit as far as, like, giving each other information. The funniest shit, if you really know Wayno and you watch the show, you watch how he'd check him subtly. Like, if you know Wayno
Starting point is 00:26:22 and you watch how he'll look at it. Jayden said that I beat Billy D. Williams in this shit. Like, he's saying, smooth games on them. But you know what the thing is is this. It's like, all right,
Starting point is 00:26:32 even when Joe left for myself I thought it wasn't going to last too long because I didn't know what the next phase is going to be but my thing is this man like I'm not I'm not trying to be yelling at a nigga to argue with you
Starting point is 00:26:46 I ain't got to yell at you to argue with you you know what I'm saying so my biggest thing would have Joe button whatever but my I like when Joe used to yell at him because Joe was passionate about what he was saying
Starting point is 00:26:57 and a lot of times he was right yeah he was right about so but I'm just saying for myself bro Like, for me, it's like, I'm not, we do that shit mad early in the morning. Like, we're doing that, we doing that shit. Niggins don't understand, bro. No way when you're like, yeah. I'm not doing that shit at 8.30 in the morning getting out of,
Starting point is 00:27:15 and for me, that's just not who I am as a person. Even if I have altercation, I'm not going to be trying to, like, it's even, we're doing something or not. So for me, I looked at with academics, like how I did with academics, I just talk to them. You know what I talk to them. And we have our little spats here and there. But I talk to them.
Starting point is 00:27:33 Yeah, messaging is very important, right? I think learning how to communicate, knowing how to communicate is very important. You know, and I think people got different ways of communicating. Like, I didn't always communicate, you know, the way that I do now. But back in the day, I didn't communicate the same way. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:27:50 And what I realize now was the way I communicate now, it resonates more, right? Because at the end of the day, if you're actually saying something, you don't want that message to be missed. And sometimes the message will be missed If you're like Oh shit look at him
Starting point is 00:28:06 Yo he's sunning dude He's checking dude He's yelling at dude You get caught up in that Instead of what the person is actually saying This generation doesn't deal with nuance well We don't dig deep enough All we see is the surface or something
Starting point is 00:28:18 You know I'd be confused about Shalaman Like the certain words that people use Checking Pressing Word word word Son it I don't know where everybody else come from I just know that when a nigger press you It means something totally different
Starting point is 00:28:29 Or when a nigga check you with me something totally different. So it's like, I don't even be looking at it in that sense. And then, like, people that fans, they view it a certain way. It's like, like, when I had this shit with Soldier Boy, you know what I mean? Like, everybody was like, oh, why didn't you, why didn't you get up and fight him? It's like, fan. And my job?
Starting point is 00:28:47 This the thing. Niggas want to gash you to do something stupid to call you stupid. Yeah. So if I would have got up and me and Soldier Boy would have had a physical altercation, no matter who gets the best of who, yeah, I get to go viral and all of that. but then you know what it becomes? Complex comes to me and say, you know, we can't do this no more.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Then they're going, where do I get the realest nigger award? Like, that's what I'm saying. People will gash you up to do something stupid to call you stupid. And if you got the best of soldier boy, they'd have been like, ah, wow, I mean, you're a soldier boy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:18 But I'm saying, bro, I made it. I made it past 30 years old without a felony. That shit is not easy. You think I'm a, I'm a trick myself out of my sense. I don't know if people think like that want to come to what we're doing. People really think that what they say matters
Starting point is 00:29:36 or what they dictate, like somebody to tweet or Instagram. Yeah, they'd be like, that's why I don't understand the whole came for you. Like, like, oh, when people say, oh, they, they, like, what do they call on Twitter when everybody's stuff? Not clapbacks. They say some shit like,
Starting point is 00:29:52 like came for you, but something like it. Oh, oh, don't come from you if I ain't sent for you. Like, all right, I could say something about Nikki or on the show. And then, all the barbs is in my mentions. And they be like, oh, the barbs on your ass. What do that mean?
Starting point is 00:30:04 Like, what through that even mean? I'm a real nigger. Bro, I don't know if y'all niggas live in a space. That's what I'm saying? I can turn it off and still live the same life I'm living. I don't know if people live with that social media shit where, like, that's their everything. That shit is their gateway into a reality that they don't have. So it's like, I'm really living this shit.
Starting point is 00:30:25 What you say don't affect me at all. I'll turn this at all. I'm not supposed. I fit every statistical. of a black man in America to fail. High school dropout, joint gang, all these type of silly shit
Starting point is 00:30:37 where I'm not supposed to make it. I'd be like, I'd be sitting to myself like, though, I get paid to do shit that I love. You know how great life is? Word up. So all these little things that people think mean a difference to you
Starting point is 00:30:48 as far as like what they may say or how they may just, I don't give a fuck about when I ain't. Everything is strategic, man. Don't let temporary feelings, you know, cause you to make something that's going to be a permanent decision. Is that again?
Starting point is 00:31:00 Don't let temporary feelings make you make a permanent decision. Fool me once. Can you fool you again? I think I'm saying that, right? Basically what I'm saying is, if you're in the studio with Fredro Starr and he calling you pussy and a bitch and all of this and that, I ain't got no reason to turn up on Fredro. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:31:14 If you don't put his hands on me, we're good. Yeah. That's fine. All that word shit don't matter to me at all. That shit don't mean nothing. Listen, I feel like a veteran. I am a veteran. I'm just motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:31:23 But I didn't have been almost jumped in front of the radio station. I'm not going to turn around and try to play tough guy with five. people. Bro, this shit don't... Social distancing. I was doing that shit before. Popular. That's why I ran.
Starting point is 00:31:34 I was around, I was around state property and Beanie Segal in the heyday. None of these niggas is tough. I'm talking about right now,
Starting point is 00:31:42 the way how these niggas be trying to act like they, and it's not even cool to be tough. You put a comma there because people will take that clip
Starting point is 00:31:50 and say, oh nobody's stuff. No, no, no say, I was around state property them niggas, none of these niggas
Starting point is 00:31:54 is tough. Oh yeah, you got to put a conal, comma. What I mean by that. Compared to state property, these niggas now ain't tough. They're not, and I'm not even, compete, right.
Starting point is 00:32:02 You summarize that perfectly. I'm just saying it's like, bro, being in that time with some of the dangerous times of my life, and I'm not saying that as a bragging point, I'm just saying it's like, I'd be looking at it like, why is everybody, now all of a sudden, no, everybody's tough, though. Me and one of my homies were talking about that,
Starting point is 00:32:19 like just on social media and the music industry, everybody's a gangster, everybody's a killer. Everybody's a gang member. Man, go have fun and live life. Like, what is it? People don't really know what life is about. Like, we come from that. I come from, I come from poverty streets to tell us.
Starting point is 00:32:35 So to make it here, like, I'm gonna fuck it up for what? For you? Yeah. Who's my dude young Chris, man? I saw him here. He's diversifying his portfolio. He said me this shit. You see this shit?
Starting point is 00:32:45 He's a thing. He said this is Chris. I was dying. This nigga really looked like Chris, though. You look just like young Chris, man. You got added to the video home and holding up to the camera. Yeah, that shit is hilarious, man. This dude looked just like young Chris, man.
Starting point is 00:32:56 I said, God damn, young Chris out here diversifying his portfolio. Look. Don't that look like young Chris? Selling life insurance or some shit? No, that's tears, bro. Like, if you glanced that shit, OD looked like that. Because Chris got pictures of him wearing suits and shit like that, too. Like, that looks like him, OD.
Starting point is 00:33:13 No, but the communication is important. Very. That's why my deep dive today, I want the deep dive to be a J. Electronica's album. Yeah. A written testimony, right? All right. Now, before we go deep into our bucket dive, I want to tell you about Tushy.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Ove, Wayne, I got a question for y'all. Do you have buttholes? If you do, then this adds for you. All right? Listen, let's be honest. The biggest scam right now going on in this world is toilet paper, okay? That's the biggest scam.
Starting point is 00:33:46 If you got poo on your arm, would you wipe it off with dry paper or would you wash it with water? All you people that's running to the store and taking all the toilet paper out of the fucking off the aisles, off the shelves. You really need to think about this, okay? If you wouldn't wipe your butthole with dry paper, okay?
Starting point is 00:34:05 Then why are you wiping it with toilet paper? So what I'm doing right now is introducing you to the latest in butt cleaning technology. You want to know what that butt cleaning technology is? Water, nigger, all right? Get with the program and clean your butthole with a bidet. Y'all don't got bidet in the crib? I don't know. Y'all only got no buttee?
Starting point is 00:34:22 I don't know. Y'all can't be that home. where you don't like a little water squirt it up your ass. Okay. That's the seat like the Japan. Yes, man. I ain't got that enough money for that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Next real. I'm glad both of you all said that because for years, badees have been available but hideously expensive, costing thousands of dollars. The hello-tushy modern badee attachment is here to democratize the blessings bestowed by badees and offer clean buttholes that everybody, you need this right now because you can't. I can't find no toilet paper because everybody's buying toilet paper because of the coronavirus.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Okay? Hello, Tushy cleans your butt with a precise scream of fresh water. Forget this, $79. I promise you if it was $69. This would have been perfect. Okay? It attaches to your existing toilet. It requires no electricity or additional plumbing and cuts toilet paper use by 80%. We need this right now.
Starting point is 00:35:19 The Hello Tushie Bourdain pays for itself in a few months because with Hello Tushy, you don't. Don't wipe it all. Even the best to imply just can't cut it when it comes to a hands-free poop experience. Look, Mom, no hands. Ditch paper products and uncomfortable chafing when you switch to the soothing, cleansing scream of water from a hello-tushy bidet attachment. And every hello-tushy-baday attachment comes with a 60-day risk-free guarantee and a 12-month warranty. I don't see how you don't need this in your life. You're on social media and you see that toilet paper is non-existent right now.
Starting point is 00:35:54 because everybody's buying it for whatever reason. But right now, you can join millions of happy Hello Tushy customers and have a clean butthole. Butthole. Go to hellotushy.com slash idiots to get 10% off. This is a special offer for our listeners. Go to hellotushy.com slash idiots for 10% off. That's hellotushy.com slash idiots. I might have to put Hello Tushy in the positively brilliant segment
Starting point is 00:36:20 because the fact that y'all are advertising this right now in the midst of a toilet paper what's the word I'm looking for? Crisis, where toilet paper is just disappearing everywhere for whatever reason people are buying toilet paper for y'all to advertise this right now fucking genius. Hellotushy.com slash idiots.
Starting point is 00:36:40 Let's get back to the show. Hit the drop. Messaging is important, right? Because I'm sure we all saw Joe Button yesterday and J. Electronica going back and forth on Twitter. And I listen to the to what Joe Biden had to say about Jay Electronica's album. And he's not wrong.
Starting point is 00:37:02 At all. But it's messaging. It's not what you say. It's how you said. You're worried it's bum. I'm not responsible for how you perceive my information. I dole out, though. Because I can say something,
Starting point is 00:37:11 and two people can perceive it. Two different ways, right? Especially somebody who's insecure or somebody, I could be talking to you who's securing itself. I could be talking to somebody who's insecure. And I can say the same exact thing, the same exact way. You might take it the way you take it.
Starting point is 00:37:26 I'm not responsible for, how you perceive what I'm saying. Should artists be that sensitive at people's opinions about their music? No. I mean, once you create it and put it out. Yeah. It's for the public to say
Starting point is 00:37:37 nobody's gonna love your shit all the time. Now, J-Lex baby mother, Queen Erica Badu said some real shit one time. I'm an artist and I'm sensitive about my shit. Right. But why do we allow certain people's opinions to bother us? Is it because of the platforms that we don't?
Starting point is 00:37:51 It's security. The platforms, because you know, I mean, let's keep it a hundred, man. You know when you got a certain type of platform and I just say like Joe. Like Joe, you know how he is with music. I think the good part about Joe is that he's very critical about music because he cares about music.
Starting point is 00:38:07 But the way he delivers it sometimes, it do make people feel away. And you can't, like, you, you're right. I can say something to you and you, and both y'all can feel away. But if I say it with a certain type of aggression, or I say it with certain type of verbies, or I say it in certain type of ways,
Starting point is 00:38:22 you naturally might feel away about it. If I tweet out, I never got absolutely mopped around. own project at me not rory first of all i hate when niggas say at them like that's what is that adding them is nothing like actually say it to my face is what i guess add is to say it to my face of social media yeah but he said i never got absolutely mopped around on my own project and then joe said i took you off yours and it's a whole mix tape now it's disrespectful to say i took you off i just want what's the point in doing that That's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:38:58 You can give your opinion about the album and say the exact same things. Because when I first heard the album, we talked about it in the group chat. I got on Breakfast Club the next day. I say, yo, Jay washed J. Electronica, right? But when I go back and listen to it, I don't think it's a washing. It's not a mop-up. It's a reason for this, right? Jay Electronica is a dope rapper.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Yes. We know that. He's a great rapper. I love his messaging. You know, he speaks my language. You know, I walk around with the honest. honorable Elijah Muhammad piece on all the time. So I'm big on the lessons.
Starting point is 00:39:30 I'm big on the NOI. So his music hits me a little bit different. But let's be clear when we're talking about J. Electronica getting mopped up on his project. He's on his project with the greatest rapper of all time. It's like being on the court with the greatest basketball player of all time. If Jordan might score 30, but that don't mean Scotty didn't score 25. Right now, if you got to shoot with Michael.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Jordan, I'm pretty sure he can out shoot most people who play basketball every day. If he was just talking free throws, it's a shit. So it's like, yeah, he's on the album with the greatest nigger ever. Absolutely. You know what I mean? So it's like, what you expect? But I don't know, man. I think people were wanting more from J. Electronica because it was a 10-year hiatus.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Right. So for him to come back with a mixtape and the first voice you hear is Hove. Right. It's an honorable. Is Farrakhan? Minifference, Farrakhan. And then the next voice you hear is Hove. So I can understand some people being a little like...
Starting point is 00:40:30 But keep in mind, even all this journalist stuff that Joe doing now, you got to remember he was a rapper for longer. And now he's getting... Like, Joe used to give his opinions on Twitter all the time. Absolutely. That's how he built a big fan base through social media. But now his opinion is his voice. So a lot of things that he probably didn't get a chance to say,
Starting point is 00:40:51 or, I mean, we didn't get a chance to hear him say before. He can just freely say. He's being critical as a rapper more than a journalist. And if you listen, he still big them up. He said, I'm separating this. Nobody hears that. That goes back to my original person. He said, yo, I'm still super happy for him putting out the joint. Nobody hears that. I'm still
Starting point is 00:41:07 celebrating the fact that he finally got one now. Congrats and all that, but I want them more. You know what I'm saying? That gets lost, whole. That gets lost in the yelling and the name calling. And by the way, I'm not, that's what Joe does. My only issue is, keep that same energy when you sit and face-to-face
Starting point is 00:41:23 with your electronics. Don't back track, you know what I mean, I want to see them veins popping out. I want you to take the shirt off. I want the wife beat her on. I want you yelling and screaming at Joe. I mean, at Jay, telling Jay the same way you feel about his project, you know, when he's around you. But forget Joe.
Starting point is 00:41:40 I want to talk about this album, right? A written testimony. What Hove said is absolutely right. If your criticism is, after 10 years you wanted more Jay Electronica, I can understand why you're upset. It's a 39-minute project. I think he wraps for like 13, 14 minutes. out of the whole 39-minute project.
Starting point is 00:41:57 The rest is whole and instrumentals playing and, you know, skits. I can understand that. But when you say he got washed on this project, that's not fair. He's barring people up on this shit, bro. But when you do an album, when you do a song,
Starting point is 00:42:11 an album with somebody, you open yourself up to that comparison. Yeah, you put yourself in a position. Yes, you know what I'm then? My only problem with J. Electronica is this, bro. I accept you how I met you. You started off with the Just Blaze shit. That's what made everybody fuck
Starting point is 00:42:26 with you. Yeah. Yeah. And in the demo skin and all the, Dillamoskin and all of, like, hidden songs we were trying to find this to stand the third. There's no just blaze, right? Which is whack.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Which, which I don't like. But, but not only that, as much as I love Jay Z, I didn't want to hear Jay Z a J-Electronica album. I wanted to hear Jay Electronica. Like, that's what I really want to hear. Yeah, I'm not going to ever say I don't want to hear Jay. I mean, come on, bro.
Starting point is 00:42:53 I mean... I love hearing from. because Hove always lets us know what he's at in his life at the moment, you know what I mean? And that's cool, but come on, bro, I wanted to hear Jaila. It's been 10 years. It's been 10 years. I've been, was like, all right, we never get in it.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Like, you know what I mean? I've been, like, detox never came. Like, that shit is out of our minds now. I mean? I never rated J. Electronica like that, though. Nah, because it was a special time. He used to be in New York. Like, we was outside.
Starting point is 00:43:17 08,09. He was 172. He used to be at Dame shit. He was everywhere, so we got to really interface with him. Oh, Angel, you used to manage him. Yeah. Yeah, so it was like we had a different type of expectation because it's like we've been, we championed him. I like the exhibit C, but I never looked, I never, Jay was never one of the guys.
Starting point is 00:43:35 I'm like, yo, he's one of the greatest rappers of all time. I never saw that. Once again, I liked him because of his subject matter. Yeah. I loved him because he was like Farrakhan with a microphone. Like the same messages that the Hon. Minister Lewis Farrakhan was trying to convey through speeches. Right.
Starting point is 00:43:49 Jay was actually doing it in his music. Right. And I mean, he never had his, he never had an opportunity to be the greatest. of all time and then because he didn't put out of body of work but there was a point in time where we did look at him as a nigga that's like all right he's going to fix these little bit of glitches in the matrix the niggas an anomaly like he comes from New Orleans he wraps like that
Starting point is 00:44:08 you never see him he's like an alien like you never hear it's so much shit about it that made him interesting that's what we wanted to hear that's what I said in the group chat I said after 10 years of being gone you didn't give us none of that what happened in those 10 years, what happened on your journey.
Starting point is 00:44:26 I learn more to him in Exhibit C than I learned on his whole album. I don't think that's his purpose, though. I think his purpose is to give us these teachings. I really do. And I agree with you. I think the mystery around him has always been bigger than his music, you know. But I think that his purpose is to give us these lessons. First of all, if you've never read message to the black man by the honorable Elijah
Starting point is 00:44:47 Muhammad, do that, read that twice. And then go listen to a written testimony. Because it's just certain things that he's talking about you. That's going to hit different. But the thing is, and I get that, but that's not everybody's, like, that's not everybody's mission to be able to read that. Niggas just want music sometimes.
Starting point is 00:45:04 That's going to be 5% of people that do that. Yeah, for us. That goes back to what I said about messaging, because, like, he might be talking over people's heads because he's speaking about things that people don't know about. You're right, you're right. And I'm not, like, the thing is, is that I even hit you about it.
Starting point is 00:45:20 I'm happy with the album, but we all get to be selfishest, fans. Yeah. You know what I mean? I get to be selfish as a fan. I want what I want. I get to be, yeah, like, I get to be able to say, like, it's not like we got video games
Starting point is 00:45:32 and we could trade niggas and do the shit that we want to do and play fantasy rap. I want to hear Jay Electronica for 10 songs by itself and one J feature or two. I don't want to hear them going back and forth. And like, yeah, I love to hear Jay, but it's like, Jay Z, but at the same time, it's like, bro, I was, so 10 years, we got to hear him with, would, would, with, would, with, with, Jay Z and then like... It's a cheat code. I don't know, bro.
Starting point is 00:45:58 It's a cheat code. Like he said in the album, he was like, basically he said like, well, I'm going hard doing these things just so you could dissect me and break it down. Yeah, that's what artists do. That's what art is. If not, keep that shit in your headphones.
Starting point is 00:46:09 Yeah, bro. You put the shit out to be discussed, to be praised, to be... You know what I learned, Sean's made, and I learned this by just by doing media, bro, you can't stop nobody from saying nothing. At all.
Starting point is 00:46:17 But what the whole is saying is true, it's art, right? Yeah. It's art. So not when you are, when you're a public figure, but definitely when it's art, when you put something out to the world,
Starting point is 00:46:25 like J.L.X said on the album, he said, you know, I'm trying to squeeze out bars just for y'all to pick me apart. Yes, nigga. Yes. Yes. Yes, black man.
Starting point is 00:46:33 You know that. Yes. They've been doing it to home for years. They've been doing it to the, the, I can't even. Nah, anybody, any great lyrics is Kendrick. This is what we do. And I still feel like it's special. I still feel like it's a special moment,
Starting point is 00:46:45 but at the same time. It's a good vibe. It's a moment, but at the same time, I'm just like. Can we talk about what we like about the album? Absolutely. Because that's the problem. I think everybody...
Starting point is 00:46:53 But that's the area we live in, though, right? Yeah, it is. We automatically talk about what we don't like. So what we do like gets lost. I think it's dope just because he's giving out them teachings, man. And it's like, yo, he's really barred up. I was looking at this bar today. And Chance the rapper put out a great tweet, which is absolutely true.
Starting point is 00:47:11 This is what Rap Genius was made for. Yeah, shout the Rob Markman. My brother Rob Markman. This is what Rap Genius is made for. You can go on Rap Genius and see what the fuck he's talking. about when he said like all praises do to Allah subhanu ha wata Allah whatever it was that means glory to glory be to Allah glory be to him the most high you know what I'm saying he says I put on for my nation like I'm king to Chala crushing the Oyebo you know what the Oyebo is white people yeah that try
Starting point is 00:47:40 to bring Wahala trouble so it's like when you know these things when you know what some of this stuff means it hits a little bit different it hits a little bit different I love Ezekiel's will I love his ink used will too He got busy on that He got busy on that I love the fact that he's the first person To get Jay on the Alchemist beat You know
Starting point is 00:47:58 Like that's not Never End the story Never End the story Because like Alchemist I mean Like Alchemists Like Alchemists don't get the credit He deserved as a fucking producer
Starting point is 00:48:06 At all At all He's one of the greatest To ever do it And he's never worked with Jay You know And that was because You know
Starting point is 00:48:12 My beep affiliation I feel like Hopefully we get more of that I want to hear Jay On the Derringa beat too But that would be insane Yeah What was the ball on Never End the story
Starting point is 00:48:18 Was though What was the balls on Never In the story Is that the one when he's like, damn, I can't remember what Never End the Story was. Never in this story is hard. Oh, let me pull up the balls. The other story is the one with drink? No, that's not the one with Dr.
Starting point is 00:48:30 No, that's the Zicke's well. Oh, let me pull up some balls from Never End his story. Oh, but there's a lot of good shit on it. The last song on it was crazy. The shit that they recorded the night, Kobe died. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Have you ever heard the tale of the noblest?
Starting point is 00:48:42 Oh, yeah, yeah. When he was like his Uptown smile was gold, like a Frankie Beverly Day. His favorite song from Prince was not Raspberry, Bouray. That was a dope tune. That's actually one of the, One of the better verses, Electronica had on this shit,
Starting point is 00:48:54 but Jay still killed him. Because Jay came with the, It's a miracle. But he got Jay on the joint when he'd be like, I'm trying to catch a body. That joint, yeah. I'm trying to catch a body. Which one was that?
Starting point is 00:49:03 I think that's Ezekiel's will. Oh, he's like, he's like, whatever niggas want to do, I'm into. All that shit, he got jailed that. But it's hard to have a better verse than Jay. Like, it's not many people that can say that. Never end in this story. Maybe two or three in their life.
Starting point is 00:49:19 Yeah. When Imperial features, I'm a page turn, a sageburn, a Santeria. It's this last part where he goes, neither two can be used to fix our defects. P.S. We born perfect. Fuck all the BS. Everybody want to be us for real. We just got to see us. In Sha'all Locke. God damn. Like, you can't do that to, Jay Electronica.
Starting point is 00:49:36 And compare him even, and I get it. That's what we do. It's the same way we compare everybody. If Kendrick and Drake come out with albums in the same year, we're comparing them to. If Cardi and Nikki are the two hot female rappers, we comparing him to is hip-hop. But it's very, like, yo, Jay, Jay Z's a different animal, man. Comparison is a thief of joy, but you open yourself up for comparison
Starting point is 00:49:54 when you do an album with... It's a reason why the word exists. It's a reason why the word exists. Shouldn't Jay-Electronica get credit, though, because he produced five songs on the album. Yes, 100%. And so he sets a tone. He inspired Jay-Z to want to rap.
Starting point is 00:50:08 Yeah. And one thing I really like about Jay Rapping on... Jay Z rapping on this is he's rapping ways we've never heard him before. Like when he said lyrically I be, Talib Khali. Absolutely. I feel like that's what he's tap.
Starting point is 00:50:21 That's what he's at right now, yeah. He's finally rapping the way he always wanted to rap. Yeah. When the same shit with the Tal Lee Carlene line, when he said, truthfully, I want to rhyme like common sense. I ain't five about rapping like confidence. Like that, he's finally rapping the way he wants to rap. Right.
Starting point is 00:50:32 That's dope. Yeah, I think that's dope. And that's what I'm saying. I'm not mad at the album at all, but I do, like, yeah. Nigel, you, exhibit C is a moment. Like, that shit is a moment in hip-hop. That's the benchmark that we judging him by. And there was none of that type of rapping on his tape.
Starting point is 00:50:47 I don't believe that, though. I'm going to tell you why it's not. I'm going to tell you why it's not because the production That's all it is. But wait That's all it is. The teachers is in there, right?
Starting point is 00:50:55 The teachings is in there. He ain't got that Just Blaze beat. He ain't got the beat. That's the only. But that goes into the record. Like that goes into making a record. It's just a little bit, I don't even say disappointing because I don't know
Starting point is 00:51:07 where Jay Electronics. I also heard that Jay Electronica is the nigger that he could be sitting in his room and he fucking teleports and disappears. You don't see him for a year. You know what I can't imagine. I can't imagine what Just Blaze is his child. to go through trying to get this nigga to report.
Starting point is 00:51:19 Just Blaze got a whole J. Electronica album. Of course he does. Of course. He got old J.Z albums. Just Blaze got a whole J. Electronica album. That for whatever reason never came out. I heard that there's a record called Malcolm's Soapbox that is absolutely phenomenal. And, you know, I think that I do, I feel bad that Just Blaze isn't on this project because
Starting point is 00:51:37 Just Blaze is giving Jay Z some of his greatest records. Absolutely. And he definitely gave Jay Electronica some of his greatest record. So I think it's a story behind why Just Blaze isn't on it. And the fact, you got a whole J. Electronica project. Like, there's joints that you got that are phenomenal from Jay Electronica. So why didn't those make the cut?
Starting point is 00:51:54 I'm thinking that this isn't, this is why I don't want to go too hard on J. Electronica because I don't think it's warranted. I think J. Electronica showed up on this project. Everybody acting like, this isn't the same J. Electronica we used to hear back in the day. It's the same guy. The only between Exhibit B. Mine is Just Blaze. That's it.
Starting point is 00:52:09 Yeah, mine is Just Blaze. It's the production. That's hard, bro. I'm about to say it was just Blazers is a big. That's hard, yo, because, I mean, and really, really. realistically it's only eight songs because shiny suit theory was out and there's one skit i mean one track that's all the intro that's all production it's really eight songs wasn't the eternal was in act one what you remember that j-electronica project eternal eternal sunshine or yeah yeah act one i
Starting point is 00:52:33 remember that what you're saying about it that's a project that was like what four songs no he had a fucking he had a drink that was like i don't know because people was making it there was this is what i'm saying the niggas was a huzzle so niggas was putting together anything they could find and I got an act one. I had an act one at the time when it was on black the fucking um the touchscreen blackberry
Starting point is 00:52:54 when we was all on BBM that was like 20 something tracks of J Electronics or rapping for a minute or you know how you say that word did, uh, detreplebin? Not dick again.
Starting point is 00:53:05 I ain't say that. You let it not getting him started. You know what he's like I said DIT. Go see he came in there. I don't know how to say the word but it's something that they DeTreplamine or something like that
Starting point is 00:53:16 it's a um, hold on me look it up real quick the treptomy dichotomy no no no it's a word I can't I don't know how to pronounce this word what is it what is it pertain into it's a song yo that he had pigs with the pigs with the heads of men spit acid
Starting point is 00:53:31 you don't remember that shit I don't remember my third eye cloak and a midget in the binnet like a baby in the bass with that said this I don't know how to say that shit though nigga you know I don't know I say you accent That should look like the shit that you read at the doctor's office
Starting point is 00:53:50 When they're trying to be your eyesight test It's like a diagnosis of some shit But that's what I'm saying The nigga had he had so many trunks It's the production like On damn I can't remember what song that was When he just be like he's like I think it's the blinding
Starting point is 00:54:03 The blinding is dope With hip boy in Swiss When he's like You know the kingdom comes sir The wheel inside What he said You know the kingdom come sir The wheel of half a mile in circumference
Starting point is 00:54:12 It's the return of the Madi The return of the Aki's Yeah He said the return it says This is like two He's Cupac she callspitting Fleming a paparazzi. Those are, he barring the fuck up. He's barring up.
Starting point is 00:54:23 But at the same time, like you said, a lot of this is going to go over people's heads just by the context. Everybody ain't got knowledge of yourself, everybody. Think about reasonable doubt, bro. Like, you still could catch lines on reasonable doubt. 100%.
Starting point is 00:54:37 Reasonable doubt came out when I was like 11, 12 years old. It's shit that Jay was saying. That I'm like, oh shit. That's crazy. I just caught a line from 4-4-4. when they said We was talking about it When they were like the Lauren Taylor line
Starting point is 00:54:50 When he said Tata jumped over Tcha jumped over in five six He was five six Yeah Lawrence Taylor 56 When he jumped over the play on the field Hey I just caught that
Starting point is 00:54:58 Somebody sent us the picture I'm like oh shit The Kobe Jigaman is diesel When I lifted eight up When Shack was picking up I didn't know I thought he's talking
Starting point is 00:55:07 I'm picking his 38 up Nah man That's why I say You should go Read a message To the Black man Because it's like When he talks about
Starting point is 00:55:14 The Wheel Inside the Wheel A half a mile circumference. That's the measurement of the wheel inside the world. And he says the return of the Mahdi. You know, Mahdi is the with some leaders of Islam who would have played to restore peace and rid the world of evil. And then he said the return
Starting point is 00:55:27 to the Akis. That's his brother. You return to the lost and found tribal Shabazz. You know what I'm saying? So let me ask you that question. Do you I think he's coming with another project? Or it's going to be another 10-junk? If y'all don't scare him away? Who y'all? If y'all don't fucking scare him away? I'm telling you. You might scare the brother away. Like I want, I want J.L.
Starting point is 00:55:45 to know that I think that he barred up on this project but you know yes you did do yourself first of all it's only one wax song on the whole album Flux capacity
Starting point is 00:55:55 That shit is garbage I don't know The beat Law The good brother law Guru the good brother guru I don't know how y'all let that out
Starting point is 00:56:03 the studio That shit is so off beat Yeah it is super off beat I'm like what the fuck Like it sounds Like that shit Maybe they were taking The easiest approach
Starting point is 00:56:12 You know what I Yeah It was like yo, it's distorted so that you can really grasp it in. Nah, that wasn't it. And I never thought I would ever find myself skipping a track that has Jay Z and J.E.E. Electronica. I skipped that record every time.
Starting point is 00:56:27 That shit don't sound good in the car. That shit don't sound good in the headphones when you working out. That shit ain't it, bro. I would like Jay Electrona to know if he definitely sees this that I'm thankful for him giving us something. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:56:37 Because it's, you know, the way things is going, man, and like we just so affected by so many, like, tragedies that happen. like by all of these young artists or even older artists that lose their lives strategy I'm happy that he's given a contribution for real.
Starting point is 00:56:52 And you're gonna remember this album this album came out during a global pandemic this album came out at the height of the coronavirus you know what I'm saying? And I think for me here we go as soon as I start talking about to start coughing here we go
Starting point is 00:57:04 this when I was about to say something crazy because I was about to say I think this album could be the kill for the coronavirus and Corona says, ho ho ho you hold up now all right? Relax.
Starting point is 00:57:12 But yes man I just think it's a dope-ass project And what would y'all have done different if y'all were A&Rs on it? Have it just blessed. I have just played executive to produce it. Yeah, that's it. No, there's nothing really out.
Starting point is 00:57:25 Honestly, man, I'm not going to lie. Like, yeah, I love the JZ shit, but I wanted, like I said, being a fan. Because I'm an A&R executive and all that, I still got to take myself out of that and bring myself into what I love. No matter how much shit I'm doing business-wise, I don't forget how it felt
Starting point is 00:57:41 when I used to open up an album, read the credits, listen to it for the, first time. Call my friends and tell them to come over. We gotta listen to this shit. Yeah, we gotta hear this shit. That was our social media or getting on your bike and going to your man crib and hearing it. So it's like for me, I have my shit that I want personally, but I would have kept it the same. If I could have did a J.E. electronic album, I just would have done down
Starting point is 00:58:01 on a lot of the Jay Z shit. I would have did this album after Jay Electronics' album. I'm gonna be honest with you went or after hearing Jay Z on this album, the only feature I would not want Jay on is that whack-ass flux capacitor. Everything else, Jay's versus was necessary. I want them on everything, but I'm just saying it's like, you know. verses were necessary. Like, he's snapping.
Starting point is 00:58:16 I bought to have some of these records for his project. Yeah, but I would have still did the album, but I would have did it after I did a J-Electronic an album the way I want to do it, J-Electronica. Executive Blues by Just Blaze. Yeah, exactly. Because to me, this is an extension of 4-44, right? Because, like, 4-4 came at a very pivotal time in my life.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Because it came out on my, it came out the day after my birthday. I think I turned 39 that year. And, like, you know, we was on the roof, and we just celebrating life. It was me and D. It was me and Symero and wax. We just having a good time, like, a bunch of my partners. Well, you did we know? I wasn't there.
Starting point is 00:58:45 I wasn't there. We're going to dress that after the show. We're talking about that later. It was a couple years ago. I don't remember. We was cool a couple years ago. Yeah, we've been cool about a dime now. It wasn't like a playing thing.
Starting point is 00:58:55 No, it wasn't like a playing thing. He's dancing. It wasn't like a plan thing. And so we was on there smoking cigars and you were about to fly out the next day. And as I'm ride. Oh, fly out the next day. He was, the way Hove was at. Hove was on some like real, just black power.
Starting point is 00:59:10 Embracing fatherhood. Embracing, you know, being a husband. and just being a black man in this country and bossing up on some ownership shit which he's always been on, but it was a soundtrack for me at that moment still remains a soundtrack for me now. At this moment in my life
Starting point is 00:59:24 when the biggest thing I want to do is just continue to grow spiritually. You know what I'm saying? Like practice mindfulness in a real way. That's why I'm so big on the mental health thing, but it's just like, you know, when I'm trying to be as mentally healthy as possible and spiritually healthy as possible,
Starting point is 00:59:37 I needed this soundtrack right now. You know what I'm saying? Like this shit make you sharpen up on your lessons. You know, it make you like, you're like, Like, yo, I ain't read message to the black man in a minute. Let me go back and read message to the black man. You know what I mean? Like I walk around this honorable Elijah Muhammad piece on for a reason.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Like Jay Electronica said on the album, he was like, yo, the teachings of the honorable Elijah Muhammad, my backbone. So yes, I agree that, yo, he might have went overheads with it. But isn't that what good rap is supposed to do? He can't to his base. That's what he did. Like somebody running for president. None at all.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Yeah. Niggins just want to hear just Blaze beats. That's all. That's all. I'm not. The shit not trash. is not whack. I don't feel like
Starting point is 01:00:15 like Jay is 50 steps ahead of him and even if people feel like he is that's fucking Jay Z you know what I mean? Like, he's about 30.
Starting point is 01:00:22 Yeah. He's ahead. I'm saying he's ahead of him. 50. He might be 50 steps ahead. He might be 50 steps ahead of him? I don't know. Let me go back.
Starting point is 01:00:29 But he 50 steps ahead of everybody. That's what I'm saying. Everybody. Come on. Have a fucking three point shoot out with Jeff Curry. I say how well at this few. I don't go fuck how long you in the gym.
Starting point is 01:00:39 Yeah. You know what I'm saying? The shit makes me, I wonder who else inspires hope. That's what I was thinking, right? Like, who else inspires Hove to snap like that? You know what I'm saying? Because to me, when you are artists like Hove
Starting point is 01:00:50 who don't got nothing to prove anymore. Yeah, you got a joint. You're only rapper for inspiration at this point. Like, we know why what's free inspired him. Yeah. It was the Biggie joint. Yeah. Because we know Biggie inspires, Hope.
Starting point is 01:00:59 It was the biggie sample. And the subject matter. Yeah. Right? So clearly this is Jay Bing God, body. I think the Griselda guys. Yeah, I was going to say that too. I think that, well, just me from working at Rockefeller
Starting point is 01:01:12 and that was a long time ago, but seeing what Jay's inspired by, he's inspired by people he sees himself in. I think that's why, like, you know, with Benny the butcher, the reason why he might fuck with Benny the butcher so much might not so much be just the music is his story. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:01:27 He was locked up with Emory too. He was locked up with Emory, but it's like even West Side Gunn, like when people, I would love for the nigger besides music to do a documentary your own his life because the nigger's life is crazy. Crazy. What's like his life is crazy, bro.
Starting point is 01:01:39 I'm talking about pride to him. He's another person that's not supposed to be here. You know what I'm saying? So I think that that's what Jay. Jay is inspired by like the shit that he's seen people get through that he got through is like, oh shit. My God, that Jay Z. Griselle, the feature is going to be phenomenal.
Starting point is 01:01:54 Oh, yeah. It's going to be nuts. Yeah, I think he's inspired. I think he's inspired. I think he's inspired. Is he inspired by. I think Kendrick definitely probably for the art. I think Drake for competition.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Yeah. People saying he's the best and want to show him. That's ego though. Yeah. We all, man. We all got ego. And I'm talking about with the Drake and Hove saying that's ego, though, because it's like, Drake is,
Starting point is 01:02:15 Drake's not on Hoves' level. I mean, rapping-wise. Stature-wise, not even, but he's getting there. Yeah, he's getting there. But, wait a second. He's the best rapper for the last year. He's the LeBron of his era. Jay-Z is the Jordan of his era.
Starting point is 01:02:30 Jordan's known as the greatest of all time. LeBron is his son. Wait a minute. So hold up a second. Hold up a second. Because with Drake, not. Drake not Kobe. No.
Starting point is 01:02:42 Yes, he is because he played in every era. Yes, he is Kobe. Louis Wayne is Kobe. Louis is Kobe. Ludwain is Kobe. You wouldn't have none of these rappers right now for the way. The thing about Drake is. So who is Kanye then?
Starting point is 01:02:52 Because I would think Kanye is Kobe. Kanye is him. He's the only, that niggins. I don't compare the nigga to nobody basketball-wise. No, Wayne more like Alan Iverson to me. Nah, man. Alan Iverson never got a ring. Wayne got a ring.
Starting point is 01:03:04 Wayne do got a ring. Wayne got rings, man. More than one. But the reason I say Wayne is Alan Avison is because Alan Avison was the father. to his style and he created a bunch of little Alan I see that. I get that.
Starting point is 01:03:16 Everybody wanted to be out of that. He was a rebel, right? Lowell Wayne was absolutely a rebel. Alan, I don't think Alan was supposed to get to the heights that he was supposed to get to. He wasn't because he wasn't, but. He's six feet tall. I'm going to tell you why. He wasn't supposed to be that guy.
Starting point is 01:03:32 I got him right now. I'm going to tell you why Wayne is Kobe. Alan Iverson, with everything you just said, he still was the number one picking a draft. He still was projected to be great. Great. Kobe Bryant was the 13th pick in the draft, and then he was traded for fucking Vladi Dibb. Wayne was projected to be number one.
Starting point is 01:03:51 No, juvenile was a star. You crazy? Birdman and Tojo! By the year, 2000, little Wayne going to tear this game off. Wayne was better than BG. William was not better than BG. At all. Birdman saw the vision, y'all bucket.
Starting point is 01:04:04 Birdman told you. When he was not better than BG. And the only reason why I compare at all. How boy is it was juvenile, BG, then Wayne and Turk, maybe. You're absolutely right, but Birdman told y'all this young man. Wayne didn't say it.
Starting point is 01:04:19 He said it when he was the only one left. He had to say before that. He said it on Blinley-Lyghinson was the number one fucking pick of the drive. My nigga, like this nigga was picked before. Everybody who ended up having better careers than him. A lot of people had better careers than him. Wayne, I mean, listen, you can look at it like this.
Starting point is 01:04:33 When juvenile, I first heard Wayne on a BG album way back in the day, the baby gangses is a beautiful. But by the time that they started like, really popping. Juvenile of them were kind of in the league. Wayne was the kid that was still in high school that they would let play pick-up games with.
Starting point is 01:04:51 By the time he got eligible for college, Birdman said by the year 2000, Lil Wayne going to tear this game up. Burman was telling everybody Wayne was going to be that next. That's what. He did, and it still didn't happen then. It didn't happen for Kobe immediately either, though. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:05:08 It took time. So Wayne, yo. But that's why I say Wayne is opposite. No, listen, Wayne was respected. Wayne was respected as an artist. Like, people liked that he made... No one saw Wayne becoming Wayne. No one saw Gordon becoming.
Starting point is 01:05:20 Birdman, didn't. Nobody in their right mind. Charlotte, man, you're from the South. Nobody in their right mind thought that little Wayne was going to be getting compared to the top lyricist in the game at one point in time. Ever. I can tell you when that shifted. I can tell you when that shifted.
Starting point is 01:05:34 You like 12. Stop it. No. I'm going to say. I can tell you when it shifted. When? It shifted around 2,000. one 2002 and he started doing the dedication two
Starting point is 01:05:45 that was years later that was like 2008 2009 dedication two is 2007 yeah two thousand seven yeah let's look this up guys I promise you me and DJ drama just arguing about this shit yeah let's look this up no you forget squad up kid gutta gutter in them
Starting point is 01:05:59 that happened in 2000 well it was definitely mixed degrees yeah dedication two changed dedication two changed everything for Wayne nikes out niggas was insane niggins than jack and Wayne when Wayne did lights out even Carter one niggas was jacking 05 was the first dedication.
Starting point is 01:06:13 So what was the joints that he was putting out? Because around 02 or 3. Squat up. Squat up. He wasn't doing no. He wasn't rapping like that. Yes, it was. Because there was this one house.
Starting point is 01:06:21 There was this one project. I forgot what it was where Manny Fresh goes. Like Little Wayne comes in and he just raps during an interlude. And he's body in that shit. And then Manny comes in and goes, Wayne, get the fuck out of here with all that murder, murder, kill, kill shit. I'm trying to be happy and do nice shit. But at that point, you was like, damn. Wayne is snapping lately.
Starting point is 01:06:40 This is for Main Street. Niggas was not paying that, no money. Niggins started paying Wayne mine. Carter won there. Okay, the nigga could rack. Carter, too, definitely. No, but Dedicated 2 came out before Cardo to. Yeah, Carter 2.
Starting point is 01:06:52 I mean, the dedication to my head. Change everything. Come on, bro. I said the DJ drum, I say, oh, bro, that's the great, to me, that's my favorite, one of my favorite mixtapes all time. Okay, well, let's let me say let me say I acquiesce. And I say he is the Kobe, which I don't think he is. I think he's Alan Austin.
Starting point is 01:07:10 But if he is the Kobe, that means that he's the guy, huh? Oh, shit. Don't do that. Kanye's Dennis Rodman. No, no. No, no. They're telling him.
Starting point is 01:07:22 Taylor. Go on. Social distancing. Social distancing. Go back away from the microphone, six feet. Social distancing. Wayne ain't that close to Jay. Kobe's close to Jordan.
Starting point is 01:07:32 Wayne ain't that close to Jay. I mean, in rap. In rap. See, we compare them. We compare them sports-wise. Let's just talk art. Let's just talk art. I will say this, though, Shaillam.
Starting point is 01:07:42 Wayne is dope, but he's not that close to Jay. But this. I feel like every generation, because even Jay, we have Michael Jordan of our generation. Yeah. Right? When I think of, bro, it was, what's his name? Wayne, the generation, the last generation.
Starting point is 01:07:56 Yep. Drake is that nigger. Like, as much as... Drake is the LeBron. Bro, I'm not even going to... No, if we're going to compare him as on some rap shit, if we're seeing it as an artist, we're just personal with Jay-Z.
Starting point is 01:08:07 We're very personal with Jay-Z. Drake is the J-Z of these kids right now. Drake is LeBron. No, talk about him in rap time. He's the Jay-Z of right now. He's the last eight, ten years. Because my son don't even jack the nigger. My son's like, man, I don't listen to that.
Starting point is 01:08:20 And he's going to go through that. He's going to go through the same shit that we, when we're telling kids, you don't listen to Jay Z that's like, what, nigga, little Wayne? Yeah. He's got to go through that. 100%. If we talk about music, Drake is the Jayze of the generation. He's the fucking rapping Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 01:08:32 But he's also the LeBron. And the analogy with LeBron is even closer because the longevity. He got rings, but it's asterix next to a lot of those rings because of the ghost writing and stuff like that. They give LeBron Asterix because he went to go play in Miami, but the reason I would never give LeBron an Asterisk because he won that Cleveland goddamn ring. That's a hard one, baby.
Starting point is 01:08:53 That one ring is worth 15 rings anywhere else. Yo, you know, I'm so happy you say that because I've been watching basketball faithfully since like 1990, and that's the best championship. It's the best championship I've ever seen one. The Golden State Wars was 73 and 9. They were down 3-1 And he wanted for his hometown
Starting point is 01:09:12 That's a big that's a ring ring I'm gonna tell you know what this All the things that we say You know what this says a lot about We're not calling nobody The Kyrie a rap And I love Kyrie Let's go next
Starting point is 01:09:24 Jay Electronica might be the Kyrie A Rock Rock Mara On a written testimony No He might be He might be on a written testimony But Drake and LeBrona
Starting point is 01:09:36 They're so similar Because of that the asterisk that people put next to them with the longevity. LeBron's been in the league 17 years still bawling. Drake had a 10-year run. I've never seen the artist have this kind of run.
Starting point is 01:09:50 Bro, I ain't going to lie with Drake. Like, even if you don't, like, even if a nigger be like, man, I don't like that nigga or whatever, it's no way possible you could go to this concert and not enjoy yourself. You can't front on Drake, bro. Me and Charlomee's out of the summer 16 shit and both of us, I was like, I did not.
Starting point is 01:10:05 I get it. I get it. I was like, yo, this is crazy. I get it. Nice, man. My favorite part of that whole concert was when he just did features. Yeah, when he did the feature.
Starting point is 01:10:13 He got on the feature bag. Bro, but he took the show. You know how J.B. Like, Hove used to do this shit where he'd like, he used to play some. Yeah, yeah. Bro, that nigga did work. He did worse behavior.
Starting point is 01:10:22 That shit was like 15 seconds and turned it off. I can't believe he turned it off. Turned it off. The whole shit was rocking. He had so many hits. Listen, his place is, his place is solidified in hip-hop history.
Starting point is 01:10:32 But I'm gonna tell you something. This shit is going to really bother me and we don't figure out who the fuck Kanye West is. I'm dead serious because y'all's fronting on t'estan jane m'n no man yeah he got one right now yeah got rings right yeah he got rings yay shack yeah shack yo yeah shack i'm gonna tell you why yay is shack he was the most dominant he was the most dominant he he produced his own shit
Starting point is 01:10:54 he really disrupted the game in that way when he produced his own shit when it comes in shack i don't know i haven't figured i haven't figured this out yet we just we we beat we we're gonna beat this up okay i could say he could say he could be Shaq. I can make a case that Kanye West is Shaquille O'Neal because of the way he came in and disrupted every fucking thing. I can say he's not, though, because Kanye inspired a bunch of people. You don't see nobody want to be like Shaq right now in the league. You can't, though. But Dwight Howard did want to be like Shaq. But I would say, if he is Shaq, if Kanye is Shaq, he's definitely Shaq on his Celtics right now.
Starting point is 01:11:28 No. He's Shaq on his Celtics. He might be Shaq on Cleveland. Y'all forgot that Shaq played for Cleveland. I remember. And Phoenix. So Kanye not chasing the ring right now? Nah. He's not ring-cha-so-hack? You gotta compare to Korea. I don't think Shaq was ring-chasing. Shack told him.
Starting point is 01:11:42 He was a end? He played on 14? He played LeBron, bro. I really think Shaq was just living life. I really thought he was just traveling, bro. He just wanted to experience. He just wanted to experience different shit. Let me go see y'allis basketball player.
Starting point is 01:11:55 He didn't travel. He was trying to get another ring's coat, man. He went to Boston after Boston beat that Laker team. Yeah, I didn't get that. Why do I think Kanye is Shaq? Yeah, we're going to have to. Nah. I'm just throwing out real.
Starting point is 01:12:10 Nah. I don't want to say Tim Duncan, because I think Jay Cole, Jake Cole is the Tim Duncan in rap. That's fair. Absolutely. He's the big fundamental. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:12:22 But it'd be unfair saying that sometimes. Why? I'm going to tell you why. Because when it comes to the Spurs, in the history of history, you never heard the niggas say, man, I got to get home to catch the Spurs game. Never.
Starting point is 01:12:33 Doesn't take away from their greatness. Doesn't take away from the, because Spurs is one of the greatest. To me, and I love Phil Jackson to death, but Popovich might be over Phil. Because Phil got lucky with a few of the players he had. He had two of the best shooting guards of all time. That's a fact.
Starting point is 01:12:46 He had Shaq, the best dominant big man of all time. Popovich makes niggas into what he wants him to be. It'd be somebody, like, Kaua Lennett, if he would have been Kaui Lennett today. He maximized their potential. Yeah. So who's the player in the NBA that we've never quite seen anything like him before?
Starting point is 01:13:05 No. No, he don't have the stats. He got the rebound stats, that's it. Emotionally? No, we're talking about emotions. Yeah, come on. That's why I think it's Shaq. I think it's Shaq because we never had seen anything like Shaq in the league
Starting point is 01:13:19 and we have yet to see anything like Shaq since. So let me actually, that's what I'm saying. So is Jesus and King ring chasing? Yes, in the level of Kanye. Wait, is Jesus is King ring chasing. No. That's heaven chasing. That man trying to get into heaven, way, no.
Starting point is 01:13:34 That man trying to get into heaven, Wayne. Don't spit it like that, man. The moral of the story is a written testimony. It's a dope album. It's a very dope album. I fuck with it. I don't like flux capacitor. I do wish that there was about two more Just Blaze records.
Starting point is 01:13:49 They act like Jay Electronic ain't on there. Barring people up is wrong because he is. But he's just standing next to the greatest rapper of all time. The Mike Jordan are recording. And I can't think of too many MCs who would be able to stand up to the Jay. There's only like three niggas that actually held Aeone on the record with him. Who with the three?
Starting point is 01:14:09 Beanie Seigle being one. Beanie was one. Runners town. Come on. Come on, Kanye. Yeah, yeah. Bro, Kanye. Kanye held his own on the fucking.
Starting point is 01:14:19 He got the best verse on him. That ain't one of my, that's not a, I don't even consider that like a J. That could. Let's take ourselves out of the rest of war, yeah. I'm sorry. Social distancing. Let's take ourselves out of. It's allergies, bro.
Starting point is 01:14:31 Let's talk ourselves out of Reservoir Dogs time when niggas is rapping like that. Runn this town, Kanye verse on that shit is... When I think of a Kanye-J barring up record, I think of Diamonds and Sierra Leone remix. Jay killed him. Jay Body, but that's Jay barring up. On Run this time, that's just Jay playing with the beat. We are...
Starting point is 01:14:51 No, man, come on, man. I still don't like that record. Beanie Siegel. Nikki Minaj, Nikki Minaj. Or Nicki Minaj on Monster. Nicky Minaj, Monash. Got to give that to Nicky, bro. Cannot take that from him.
Starting point is 01:15:03 She got everybody on there. Jay is on there. She got everybody on there She got everybody on that It don't matter You rap it on somebody And that's what makes it even better Stalowspeer on Reservoir dogs
Starting point is 01:15:14 But that's a one But once But Stalspeer and Reservoir dogs But he got them back on blackout though Jay got them back on Reservoir dogs He got them back No he got them back on Blackout
Starting point is 01:15:24 Hold on on them put in drugs What? Niggas is hot heads And the bullets is he seeking Yeah Niggas is hot head and the bullets is he seeking Yeah Flos for Paisos
Starting point is 01:15:32 Chas Hots Not I just circ around the block In the drop Tell him jump in the top But it's so- Fuck who you are. Fuck who you are. I don't care about your pretty bitch.
Starting point is 01:15:38 Watch our car. I don't care about your blocking whoever you shot. I don't care about your past. If I did all the ass. I'm too busy like you drove with a whole lot of hash. Yeah, but then Jake. As far as this rap shit, I'm 10 steps ahead. A-dick-n-knick, just to practice.
Starting point is 01:15:52 Now, that was hard. That was hard. That was hard. What the hell with you? But Jake said, I know Pop, you can't stand this because you cocked them hammers. Running your criminal prisoners. Pop your grandma. Locked in the slamming?
Starting point is 01:16:03 No, popped up in the land. crossed up in a drop I popped up the antenna. Whoa. Watch your man up with my veins pop like scanners. Like rain drops, you hear the thunder when I cocked the cannon. Big thing, big chain, thing, shit change. Now, back on front. Beanie Siegel got a...
Starting point is 01:16:14 Bini Seagull got a... Bini Seagull verse on that shit is crazy too. Let me see Beanie shit. Seagull got him on the other shit. I take you out this real butt-neck in... Covering the blood, gasping for air. Cling it for dead. Once again is on.
Starting point is 01:16:26 I heard that. I couldn't believe it. I was... By the real... That's a disc record, too. You're talking about four guys. You're talking about three guys averaging. 30 on a on a track
Starting point is 01:16:36 You know what I'm saying? Like that's that's not a drop off You know what I mean? That's three elite level MCs And I'm not saying Jay Electronics is not an elite level MC But I don't know if he's an elite level MC
Starting point is 01:16:50 I think he's a really dope MC He don't have a long enough body of work And he don't put out enough music for us to call him or movie I think that he is elite He just got to like And he doesn't I feel like how you were saying about like Cardi Not like Cardi B in the same sense
Starting point is 01:17:03 but like, does he have to drop any more music like that? Is he going to? I don't think J. Electronica is going to drop no music. You're all scaring them off. That's not nobody's scared him off. He's been not putting out music. For somebody like me, I'm a little biased just because I really love the subject matter. But I can acknowledge that I don't think Jay's Electronica is an elite level MC.
Starting point is 01:17:23 I think he's a dope MC. He could be. He's 45. Hove. He could be, but I'm saying he could be an elite level. MCF, he had consistency. Now, if tomorrow or next week, that Just Blaze, if you
Starting point is 01:17:39 hear this, to drop that out because we ain't got shit else better than you. We all listen. You can't even fucking eat in McDonald's if you want to, right? If he dropped that shit and it's bars that's just as heavy and just as impactful, then we see some consistency.
Starting point is 01:17:56 It took 10 years for us to get eight songs. I think that's the part that everybody's critical of. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bro, niggas can't, he couldn't, and that's the reason why Jay had to be on it. And I had this conversation with your Gotti one time. He's like, man, right now, he's like, I just took three years off from putting out my album.
Starting point is 01:18:11 He's like, these niggas today can't not put out of the album for three years. Cannot. They can't. A little Uzi can. Kendrick Lamar can. Hold on, I want to come back and talk about Uzi.S. I'm going to put a button on the written testimony shit. Go read a message to the black man and then go listen to a written testimony,

Starting point is 01:20:33 Huh? Have you? Not about that. I'm talking about the headline shit. Oh, okay. Nigga, I don't mind. Listen, it's a new day, man. I know you when you had a hair line.
Starting point is 01:20:42 You knew me when I had my shit. You know what my problem with my shit is? I could grow all my hair everywhere except for right there. That's because you used to grow watching the Jeffersons. You loved that show so much. No, but you know what somebody told me, no bullshit when I was wearing hats. Like, they used to tell me, you would stop wearing them hats. Stop wearing them hats.
Starting point is 01:20:58 And remember when my shit first started going on hold, my shit, I had the little shark bites right here. I was like, damn, bro. Yeah, bro. For me, it was the barbers that was trying to get you in line-so, Chrisby, my cousin Don, trying to get my line so crispy. He's a barber now. Push me all the way to fuck back.
Starting point is 01:21:11 Yeah, but you was going crazy. You was lying. Yeah, you was wild. Women, man, women are having you doing crazy shit. I don't know about lining up your eye. Nah, man. No, listen, when I used to work. I used to work.
Starting point is 01:21:23 This thing is getting money. Once I stole that asses, this thing started to get money. No, I was getting my eyebrow doctor and I was. broke. I never got my eyebrows arch in the future. I got him done in the past. He got the picture with the lasers in the background. You know the old prom joint? The old prom jane? Yeah, you know why? Because I used to work at the telemarked a place called Paragon Solutions. And there was two girls that worked there, two of my homies. Her name is Shinar and Nina.
Starting point is 01:21:46 I'll never forget them. It gassed me up to get my eyebrows arch. I told me, yo, Tupac gets his eyebrows arch. And I said, for real? And they was like, yeah, they was like, Tupac got an arch in his eyebrows. And I went to the bar. I was like, y'all want to get me. arched my eyebrows. They didn't know how to arch eyebrows for guys. So he arched my shit like a girl. And then when you, when you hit the hood, when you hit the hood, here go.
Starting point is 01:22:10 When you hit the hood and you got women saying to you, oh, your eyebrows look so good. They're telling you that your eyebrows look good based off them. Bro, his shit was looking like the nigger from FlashGar and Zotar, a nigga. No, the shit was bad, though. This shit was bad. And I remember wax.
Starting point is 01:22:26 I remember wax waxing my boy powder. They called me one day. There was a G-U-Nit mixtape, and there was somebody on the G-U-Nixtape that said, the next nigga I see what they eyebrows are from smacking the shit out of them. So when I answered the phone,
Starting point is 01:22:37 I'm like, hello? And that's all I kept hearing over, and they just kept playing it back over and over and over and over and over. And I let my shit grow out. No, man, that's so wild. That shit's nasty. That was a terrible time in my life.
Starting point is 01:22:47 But you're getting money. You don't care about those fucking hair line. Both of your niggas. I don't care about that shit. I just don't want to get caught up in something so superficial that I got to like get the blackout and all that
Starting point is 01:22:58 I ain't got time for that I ain't gonna lie I miss having waves yo listen my wife owns a hair salon they do wave I see I'm not trying to do the cap I'm not doing the cap
Starting point is 01:23:08 because the cap could come off I'm not trying to do that she has shit nah I'm not going up on my head my nigga it's crazy that the cap is cat the cap is cap if I did it
Starting point is 01:23:17 I'm doing the Tory Lane shit or they're doing the and put the shit back I tried it you tried it I did the PRP. You know what I'm a... Not the PRPS, that's the clothes.
Starting point is 01:23:27 You said it hurt, right? No, but you know what I'm gonna do? You know how people say? That was this, nigga. That ain't good. That's not going to wait for me. I was going to work for me. No, I did it.
Starting point is 01:23:34 Dr. Sandy did it for me one time. She gassed me up to do it. How much does it? It's like three racks, but it's like six different procedures. But that shit hurt so bad. I stopped doing. I'm like, I'm not doing this shit. Like, I'm getting headaches and shit.
Starting point is 01:23:47 Like, man. For real, after the third time, I'm not going to be doing that shit. Listen, man. Beauty Mark and his salon, they'll set you. Every time I think about doing it, I think about my kids. They're going to fry me. My kids are so ruthless, they're going to fry me.
Starting point is 01:24:02 I remember being little. My pops was like 30. He had full gray hair, gray bids. So I know my shit going to be great when I get older. That nigga, I can't have crib one day in high school. That nigga here was black. I laughed that nigga under the bus. He was so mad.
Starting point is 01:24:16 Fuck that black. Yeah, I just started getting grades like two months ago. No bullshit. I got grades on my balls. I know him be great. Oh, brother. I'm dead dead. What kind of podcast is this?
Starting point is 01:24:26 Yeah. You've been here four times. Is this how I used to go? No, I only got, I only got two. Doesn't get old as a motherfucker, but I appreciate it. You know what I'm saying? The reason I appreciate getting older because people wake up dead every goddamn day.
Starting point is 01:24:38 And I want to enjoy every... Wake up dead? Yes. Don't wake up. You know what I mean. But I want to enjoy every freaking year, but you do start to notice things as you get older. Like, even my workouts change now
Starting point is 01:24:50 because my knees ain't the same. You know what I'm saying? You're taking a piss. You notice the couple gray hairs on your balls. You're like, I got a wise dick. You know what I mean? You just got to look at the bright side. And when I do manscape, I don't cut them off. Charlamagne, I'm keeping a hundred.
Starting point is 01:25:05 This is useless knowledge right here. The knowledge. Well, speaking of useless knowledge, let's talk about things you won't care about next week. This is when we just run through some hot topics, okay? Walker has an issue with the Flip to Switch Challenge. Do y'all have an issue with the Flip to Switch? Challenge?
Starting point is 01:25:24 Some what, yes? Not a real issue, but I just think, like, I'm gonna keep it a hundred, man, like loving won't make me put your eye heels in your dress on, just nobody could get some likes. I never had that type of love. Like, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:25:34 And people were like, oh, it ain't that serious. For you, it ain't, like, I just, I'm not doing that. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, but when your girl tell you that it's cute, you probably fall victim to it, the same way I felt victim
Starting point is 01:25:42 to the arched eyebrows. Women have you doing some strange things. You're right, you right? You ain't doing no flip this challenge. No, I'm not doing that shit. No. I'm cool. bit of an attack on male masculinity a little bit.
Starting point is 01:25:54 I think this is a light. I don't think it was... Holt Hove, let's go! I don't think this challenge was meant for that, but it's a little underlined, whatever. I'm not tripping over. I don't know. You know, it's just like, you know, I don't know. Men run this planet, but it's like every time a man says something about being a man,
Starting point is 01:26:12 people just get so offended about that. You know what I mean? Yeah. It's nothing wrong with, like, I feel like people, you write to have your stance or whatever, but I have a stance or something, and I have a stance or something, and I just get you. I can't. I mean, you can say whatever you want that could possibly hurt my feelings,
Starting point is 01:26:26 but if I say something that hurts yours, then I'm the wrong person. Yeah. I'm just not entertained by the Flip the Switch challenge. I'm just not. I'm just not, it's not entertaining to me. I'm not, it's just not. Like, I don't.
Starting point is 01:26:34 It was cool the first like two, three times. After that, I was like, all right. That's something somebody does once, and you're like, oh, that was good. That was funny. That was slick. But then when you see everybody doing it over and over, it's like, eh, I didn't like it.
Starting point is 01:26:45 I like the creative ones. I saw one with a dude, Flip the Switch to Switch to his dog. Yeah, that was funny. The guy had this baby diaper on. That would be dope. I don't know if that's dope, but, I mean. It's funny.
Starting point is 01:26:55 I see it. I laugh. I chuckled. It's kind of funny. The Switch challenge is going to die with Caitlin Jenna do it. She's going to do one. I'm telling you, she's going to body it. Watch.
Starting point is 01:27:05 She's going to win. What are you going to do it, Chris? She's going to be the period. No, she's going to do it herself. It's going to be CGI. It'll be the old. It'll be the Bruce. Flip the Switch you to be Caitlin.
Starting point is 01:27:15 You'd be like, oh, shit, we've had enough. I'm telling you. I'm telling you. I mean, where's Caitlin? I ain't seen. I ain't been looking at this. Yeah, I ain't been looking either. I just ain't, you know, hurt night.
Starting point is 01:27:24 Coronavirus, we talked about that. Donovan Mitchell has Corona. Kevin Durant has Corona now. Idris Elba has Corona. I don't know what to tell y'all. You know what I'm saying? I just think that we got to lean into the uncertainty of it all when it comes to the coronavirus.
Starting point is 01:27:38 You know, like I said, when it comes to your health, there's nothing you can do about that. There's no amount of money. There's no amount of status that can, you know, stop you from catching a disease. ease, you know. I'm just happy that it's something that people can survive. You know, my home girl, Bo Nong, from South Africa, she put some things in perspective for me. She was here last week. She literally came on a Wednesday. It was supposed to stay a week. Saw the hysteria on the news.
Starting point is 01:28:02 Her mom started calling her like, no, we need you back home in South Africa. She got on the next thing smoking and flew back. But she said to me, like, why is everybody tripping? It's like the flu. She was like, we got malaria. Malaria kills three, four million people a year. She said, we went through Ebola. Ebola had a 50% fatality rate in Africa, you know what I'm saying? And that kind of put things
Starting point is 01:28:22 in perspective for me, you know? America not used to nothing. We spoiled. Yeah, but I mean, what puts it in the perspective also is that the world don't care about black people. Like, just to keep it 100.
Starting point is 01:28:32 Like, in that context, like it's no, well, not comparing it to, but I look at it the same way how I remember, they said that Obama had asked China for, like, engineering jobs or something like that,
Starting point is 01:28:45 And they said, no, because China produces a million engineers a year. And they was like, could they get these jobs over there? Like, no. Like, because a lot of people is not growing up in this country to be, you know, engineers. You know what I'm saying? So the standards change with a lot of stuff. I mean, Malaria, these things that's been plaguing in Africa have been happening for E. Forever.
Starting point is 01:29:04 Forever. But the thing about it is, it's like if it's not in a place where niggas is stealing them natural resources or it's not in a place where... They don't give a fuck. They don't give a fuck. Come on, man. Yeah, Flint still ain't got clean water, by the way. And now they have coronavirus too. Yeah, America just not used to nothing.
Starting point is 01:29:21 This is a good, I don't want to say social experiment, but it just shows us that it's just little things that we have to learn to do on our own. That's why I love being from the South because, you know, we do learn to live off the land. You know what I'm saying? I was talking to Andrew earlier this week, and he's telling me about how Corona's all over this place,
Starting point is 01:29:36 Corona's all over that place. And I said, Andrew, you ordering Uber eats, ain't you? You know what I'm saying? If the shit can live on services, you got somebody fixing your food in the restaurant. Right. You got somebody delivering your food. They bag it up for you.
Starting point is 01:29:47 They put it in the Uber East. They deliver to you. Like, you know, and he's like, yeah, but we got to eat. And that made me think, like, boy, America's so spoiled. Because if that is what we're depending on to eat, I ain't dependent on an Uber-Each. Imagine when these restaurants, imagine when some real apocalyptic shit happened and shit can't move at all.
Starting point is 01:30:04 You better how they learn how to fucking farm. Yes. You better learn how to farm. You better learn how to fish, you know. And to go back what you said, too. You know, I was thinking about this, when you said something by engineering. And I thought about this when we talked about having a black agenda with these politicians.
Starting point is 01:30:19 Like I think that should be part of the black agenda. I think that they should make trade school free. Not just these, you know, these HBCUs and these PWIs. Like make trade school free. People need to learn how to do shit with their hands again, man. Fix a call. Change the time. I just, you know, it's crazy.
Starting point is 01:30:33 Like, because with this whole, the first time I ever voted, I only voted because they said vote. You know what I mean? And I was old enough. But now I really don't trust no politicians at all. You shouldn't. None of them. Like, none of them. Like, I understand, like, the whole local politics.
Starting point is 01:30:47 I started getting into that, like, three or four years ago when one of my homegirls started putting me on about local politics because I'm always thinking about how to change the hood, even though I don't live there. I'm like, you're from there. Yeah, I'm from there. So it's like, that's why I want to change first. But it's like, no president, none of the shit that they're saying really pertains to how I'm living or the people I love is how they live. So I don't know, man. Yeah, that's why I think they should, you know, make trade school free just because, number one, that'll get. get the economy popping quick
Starting point is 01:31:15 because people can go out there and get jobs immediately. Everybody need plumbers. Everybody need electricians. Everybody need people to fix their motherfucking air condition. Everybody needs somebody to fix their goddamn car.
Starting point is 01:31:25 You know what I mean? You went to trade school? No. I went to a trade school before. I've done nothing. Quitting like three. What kind of trade was? Carpetry.
Starting point is 01:31:33 First it was carpentry. You go with what? No, the fuck. Pause. But secondly, that was crazy. That was crazy. But with carpentry, it was like, they give you a box, right, a wood,
Starting point is 01:31:50 and you had to, like, make all of the edges round. Every time I got to the third one, the shit kept breaking. So then I was like, yo, I switched my trade. They put me in welding. Man, I did that shit for five minutes and quit, bro. Because they put you in that dark-ass room with that thing on your face. I thought I was going to set myself on fire because the shit that, the welding shit got stuck. It should start sparking.
Starting point is 01:32:10 I was bitching. I ran out the room. You do realize if everybody think the world going in like they think thinking now and they think some apocalyptic shit going to happen, you know those people we call them first, right? With the people that know how to do those trades, people that know how to well, people that know how to do plumbing, people that know how to fucking do electricity, all of that type of shit. If the world ends, it's going to be because the polar caps breaking. We still got, we got rebuilt. You know what I mean? It's going to be from the polar caps melting.
Starting point is 01:32:33 It's not going to be from. I'm with you. That's why no disrespect to nobody out there. I think climate change is some nonsense. And the reason I think climate change is some nonsense, yes, I will do my part to try to reverse, you know, what's been going on on this planet,
Starting point is 01:32:49 but ain't no reversing it. The Earth's tired of us. The Earth's sick of our shit. I was just watching the shit on National Geographic's last night, man. Polar cats is melting. They're sick of us. It's crazy when people be telling us about, like, two,
Starting point is 01:33:01 like, we only got, for us, 20-20 recorded years, and people would be talking about two billion years ago. So how many Earths has it been? Yes, how many, how many species have come and gone. Dinosaurs, cavemen. I'm happy you always talk about aliens and shit,
Starting point is 01:33:16 because I'm gonna keep it a hundred. If you look at animals, if these niggas could open their mouth and say something, they'd be aliens. I seen some shit the other day that looked like some shit, I'm in black. If this motherfucker could have said high,
Starting point is 01:33:27 I'd have been scared of death. Bro, listen. Think about this. We never heard dinosaurs make a noise and we made up a whole way they sound. How? How do we know that? Imagine what turtles have seen.
Starting point is 01:33:41 Turtles be looking at us. Yeah, yeah. Turtles be probably looking at us. Like, man, I can't wait to these niggers go extent. It's so many, but you know a lot of like science fiction, like movies is reflected by nature. Because like I just was watching some shit the other night about, um, uh, I forgot parasites, right? And they show some shit about these fucking, uh, this like spores. And the shit reminded me an alien covenant.
Starting point is 01:34:03 Remember how the spores got the people in and they got the alien inside of them? Fucking spore gets on an ant. It drives the ant crazy, bro. Makes the ant walk out of the colony. and go sit on a limb until it dies and then grows out of the ant. Imagine some shit like that happen to people. But people, and I'm not saying coronavirus
Starting point is 01:34:18 ain't a serious thing, but there's so many things that go on that couldn't. By the way, we bullshit and that might be why the government tripping. This is the Sholomane conspiracy theory. That coronavirus might be a plant, and they might have already been experimenting with this shit and saw what happens after nine,
Starting point is 01:34:35 10 months. We might turn into Gremlin's some wild shit. I'm serious, yo. That's why they quarantine the motherfuckers like, yo, don't eat after midnight Don't fucking get wet Like seriously Don't like the word Don't get hot and watch
Starting point is 01:34:47 NetGio or the news Yeah bro You see all them locust I think that's in Africa That's in the That's revelations That's what J. Electronica wraps on that on the ribbon testimony
Starting point is 01:34:57 He's like locust Locust something in plagues Ebola is a plague Coronavirus is a plague These fucking locus You see this shit? Yeah I see in the video of it The loco like that
Starting point is 01:35:07 Like this shit is really fucking happening But guess what? You get what you ask for. If you've been going to church all these years and you've been hearing about that second coming, this might be it. And what are you going to do?
Starting point is 01:35:17 Amen. There's nothing you can do about it. So you think I'm about distressed? Yeah, I ain't stressing, man. What are you going to do? I ain't stressing. I'm just in the career with the kids. What if this is the end?
Starting point is 01:35:26 Then it's the end. It's the fucking is. You know what I asked my son about that. Brin the NBA back. I asked my son where he thought about, like, all this coronavirus shit and all that. He was just like, I guess if you get it, you get it. That's what he said.
Starting point is 01:35:38 He was like, if you get it, you get it. That's the best way to have. I mean, what can we do? Deepak Chopra, seven spiritual laws of success. The six one is the law of detachment. And he said, talked about how you just got to lean into the uncertainty of anything. You know, and when it's any type of turmoil,
Starting point is 01:35:53 when it's any type of problem, when it's confusion, lean into it because there's a solution within all that confusion. Hopefully we get to the solution before whoever is watching us gets tired of watching us. Because trust me, there's somebody up there in the universe,
Starting point is 01:36:07 It's a higher power that's watching us like Netflix and he fell asleep or she fell asleep and that's it. Are you continuing to watch this program? And the numbers are counting down. That's very scary. And if he or she don't say yes, this might be it. Last episode might be corona. It's quite possible.
Starting point is 01:36:24 It's quite possible. All right. That was enough of things you won't care about next week. And we can end the show with some asking idiots. You got with asking idiots you got. You said what? Oh, I do.

Starting point is 01:37:49 Coronavirus is rescheduled every goddamn thing. Ain't nothing moving, all right? Nothing. Okay, shit is dead. Ain't no stand-up shows. Only thing you can catch us doing is broadcasting on the breakfast club 6 a.m. And you can catch this podcast. You can go out while you're sitting around quarantine,
Starting point is 01:38:05 I saw something this morning and I said, oh, yeah, people are quarantined for real. My first book, Black Privilege Opportunity, Comes to those who created it. I was on Amazon this morning for whatever reason. And it was the bestseller tag was next to it. And it said, number one in general broadcasting. So people is out here buying books and it was the Audible book. So people are out here downloading content off Audible. And I know me personally, I bought two new books yesterday on Amazon.
Starting point is 01:38:31 I bought The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success because I listened. to it on Audible, but then I wanted to own it, so I bought that. And then I bought this book about Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X's friendship. I can't remember the name of it. That's not Blood Brothers. That's one book, but it was another one. But I read that. So, yeah, go on Audible, go on Amazon and buy some books, preferably, you know, black
Starting point is 01:38:54 privilege and shook one. But, you know, take this time to strengthen your mental. But other than that, ain't shit moving, Bay. Now back to the show. I know God got a sense of humor, though. That's why he made this come out during allergy season. I'm serious. Because, you know, when you're sitting around trying to hole in coughs and hole in sneezes,
Starting point is 01:39:11 every time you do that, I guarantee you the way we laughed at that Lou Rawls meme, you saw the Lou Rawls meme when he's singing and he starts coughing, but he's trying to hold it in because he's singing at the same time. The way we laughed at that meme, it's a higher power laughing at us the same way. Oh, man. Where I'm going? I'm staying in the house with my children, my wife, my loved ones, say a couple of prayers, and that's it.
Starting point is 01:39:42 Where am I going? Wayno, where are you going if the apocalypse happens? I'm being in a crib, too, man. You know, got a lot of food, PlayStation. I'm a licensed firearm owner, so don't come knocking at my door on some bullshit. Yeah. I'll be good. I'm going to heaven.
Starting point is 01:39:55 That's where I'm going, if the apocalypse happens. I'm going to be up there watching Wayno and Hove fight off people with guns. Hopefully they get me and my family about it. first. I'll make a place for y'all. I'll hold the door for y'all. Send me at the end from there. At Emick Coward 28 says, what do you think America in the world will learn
Starting point is 01:40:16 and put into action about coronavirus? I think that's a really good one. I think that America is going to learn that we're really not prepared for anything. America has been living too high off the hog for too long. A lot of things that we see happen in other countries, we just think that it can't happen to us because it's America.
Starting point is 01:40:31 And it's kind of like when 9-11 happened in New York City, right? Like you didn't think something that tragedy could happen in New York, but you saw how it shut the city down. This right here is shutting the nation down. So I just think that, you know, one thing that we need to learn is that we're really not prepared. And number two, when shit hits the fan, we all in the same motherfucking boat, B. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:40:51 Period. We're not in control. That's the other thing. We're not in control, God damn it. The arrogance of men is to think that we're in control. Especially the American man. You want to make God laugh, tell them your plans. That's right.
Starting point is 01:41:04 Just Jay Walker. We're doing Asking Idiot. He says, what's one thing you miss? I'm not answering that. That's stupid. At Ryan DeLo, asking Idiot says, who in the studio is the most likely to get to Wuhan?
Starting point is 01:41:18 By the Wuhan, he means the coronavirus. Inshaalade, none of us get the coronavirus. Yeah. You know? Like, what the fuck? Who is most likely? Your mother. Yeah, that's the most likely to get it.
Starting point is 01:41:34 Right. At IMHWTN says, what's your opinion on the bucks going after Tom Brady? After James Winston gets eye surgery to better his game. It's hard for me to accept Tom Brady not playing in white, red and blue. It's whack. Yeah. It's like Jordan on the Wizards. It's like Peyton Manning on the Broncos, even though Peyton did win the championship.
Starting point is 01:41:53 So that don't count. Yeah. He's gone. You're going to be going to get your crab legs and Wells, baby. Yeah, he's a free agent now. Come on to the Giants, baby. I hope somebody pick him up. He'd be good in New York.
Starting point is 01:42:04 You know, the crazy thing about... Yeah, but then y'all got a good quarterback, though. Man, the thing about football, though, is like, a nigga could be a quarterback for 15 years and be losing. Like, that shit is crazy. One point, a point guard? You, you fuck up. The first season, it's over.
Starting point is 01:42:15 You out of it. If they did the Delonzo Ball. Oh, this is a good one. Ask an idiot. Andrews said, what do y'all think about Oprah trending on Twitter last night for human trafficking accusations? Huh? I missed that one.
Starting point is 01:42:31 She was the number one trending topic. They said that they rated her crib and all that shit. Yeah, but then she said that she didn't raid her crib. That nobody read her crib. She's been sanitizing and socially distancing herself. I think it's dangerous. It goes back to what I've been telling you about social media. Yeah, it goes back to what I've been telling you about social media.
Starting point is 01:42:47 Some Austin Wells War of the World shit is going to happen on social media because niggas believe anything they see on social media. Like somebody sent me that video yesterday afternoon. It was a fucking YouTube video, bro. Do you understand if Oprah Winfrey's house got rated? That shit would be worldwide, international news, every fucking where. not on some YouTube video. The same niggas that believe in a flat earth
Starting point is 01:43:06 believed in that open Winfrey sex trafficking video yesterday. You know anybody who believe in flat earth? Because I know somebody. My wife's brother. I met somebody that believes in. Real? You should tell them walk off it right now. I told him.
Starting point is 01:43:20 Yeah. I believe if even was flat, you still can walk off of it. If it was flat, why would they lie to us about that? Why would it matter? But the thing about, you know, everybody wants to believe something else that everybody else believes. You know what I mean? Everybody wants to say, oh, man, you believe that.
Starting point is 01:43:36 It's like kind of like, and no bullshit, man, like what they did with Young Berg, bro. Like how people jumped there. People jumped off the, oh, my nigger, like jumped off the roof on him, was talking crazy, all of that. And then. That woman needs to be charged. 100%. Yeah, that shit is crazy, yeah. There's some charges brought up against her because women make these accusations about men.
Starting point is 01:43:53 These accusations don't be true. And then nothing happens. Nothing happens. She tried to line that man up clearly. Right. You know what I'm saying? Youngberg said that the woman swung on him in the house. I don't believe in hitting women
Starting point is 01:44:05 But if there's ever If there's ever a time When you probably would Is when you see that this woman's trying to set you up Yeah You're looking on your fucking surveillance with you You see dudes trying to come in the house And then she swings on you
Starting point is 01:44:16 You're like yo you gotta do what the fuck You gotta do to survive Yeah man Yeah yeah hope you get through all of that But you see how people just like so easily Impressional Yes and also with the over thing I always say nobody cares about the truth
Starting point is 01:44:26 And the lies more entertaining It's a it's I think all three of us have been on the other side of that. Absolutely. And when people don't like you, they'll run with anything that's against you. So people don't like Oprah right now.
Starting point is 01:44:39 You mean that they don't like Oprah, they want to have some dirt on her to be able to kick her back in. They would love to be like, they would love to do that shit. So people jump on shit that either reinforces narratives they already believe or have some type of confirmation bias
Starting point is 01:44:54 or something they already think about you. Yeah, man. Just think about that. Oprah, human trafficking. Say it again. Oprah and human trafficking. Like, the thing is, is that there's a lot of skeletons in people's closet and all that,
Starting point is 01:45:06 but Oprah and human trafficking, they'd have caught it 20 years ago if that was real. Nah, no, they wouldn't. You ain't even though? Nah, we've seen that. We've seen how this shit play out. They wait till you good and about to be done with life. Mm, you do have a point.
Starting point is 01:45:18 Before they come before they go ahead. Yeah, they don't wait no more. Harvey Ronstein on Rikers, right? 23 years. That niggins on the island. That's crazy. He might be Macballer by the end of this month. Imagine what all Kelly's going to get.
Starting point is 01:45:32 Oh, they're going to smack all Kelly around. 75 years and coronavirus, nigga. They're going to hit that nigga with everything. Oh, man. He's going to have a rough bid. Yeah. He deserves it. He definitely deserves it.
Starting point is 01:45:42 Listen, that's it for asking an idiot. Hovane, Wano. Thank you for pulling up today. Proud of y'all brothers, man. Thank you. Proud of everything that you all. Likewise, man. Have accomplished and achieved in this industry.
Starting point is 01:45:55 You know, it's funny to me because it's just like people talk. to me about y'all like I don't know y'all like you know what I'm just people just talking about like you know I'm trying to get in touch with Waino at asylum and let him hear this
Starting point is 01:46:08 or yo do you know Hovane you think he'd be interested in managing me and I'm like do I know these yeah right right right you know how history but that's dope though because we that generation
Starting point is 01:46:18 like I'm sure like back in the day that's how Angie Martinez felt with Kaiser you know what I'm saying oh you know what I mean like it's that like they grew up in their era and you know they still playing
Starting point is 01:46:28 so smooth to them but we're sure you know We're growing up in all there. You know what I mean? And it's just a dope thing to see. So congratulations on officially being industry, niggas. Okay? The both of you.
