The Brilliant Idiots - Toto Tartare
Episode Date: September 11, 2026Charlamagne and Andrew Schulz dig into the AI researcher who quit Anthropic warning that the industry is racing toward superintelligence with no plan to stop it, and whether "10% chance of extinction"... should actually change anything about how these companies operate. From there it's a wild ride: a heated debate over who gets to use the N-word and why the argument itself might be outdated, and a full teardown of Kanye's cultural legacy versus 50 Cent and Jay-Z in the history of New York hip hop. Plus: sending your kid off to college, astrology arguments, and way too much bathroom talk. ************************************ Sponsor Brilliant Idiots: https://public.liveread.io/media-kit/brilliant-idiots Jess Hilarious - Til Death Do We Parent - Pre Order 2Chainz - The Voice in my head is God - Pre Order The Black Family Who Built America - Cheryl McKissack Daniel -Order Link Uncommon Favor - Dawn Staley - Order Link Get Honest or Die Lying Why Small Talk Sucks- By Charlamagne Tha God - Order Link Check out Andrew Schulz - www.theandrewschulz.com Check out all the podcast on Charlamagne's "Black Effect Network" - https://blackeffect.com Checks out AlexxMedia AM Mornings Download Cash App Today: https://capl.onelink.me/vFut/zt3hy9x9 #CashAppPod Cash App is a financial services platform, not a bank. We are the Brilliant Idiot podcast.
Back for another week of Brilliant Idiotness.
Yes, sir.
Any frees?
Heather Kyle Walker, what's happening?
Hello, sir.
How are you?
How was your weekend, man?
Man, last weekend of the summer, man.
I'll be honest, I was a little sad.
Last weekend and the summer for me was a week ago.
Why?
Kids went back to school.
Once the kids go back to school?
Your kids go back to school in August?
Yeah, they went back to the last week in August.
Before Labor Day?
Before Labor Day.
That's crazy.
And that's what I'm saying.
That's when the summer was officially over then.
No, that's cool.
But I think the teachers do that on purpose.
Like, if it's in Jersey, they go back a week.
And then they know, yeah, they knock the rust off.
They know they got a next little four-day weekend, three-day weekend, whatever it is.
Then they get back to the think of things.
Not even this week, next week, really.
Wait, did your daughter go to college this here?
She did.
Holy moly.
Yeah, guacamole.
How is that?
Oh, no, man.
Crazy separation anxiety.
Is it a boy and girl school?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Damn, that first week is usually fucking crazy.
No.
It's just crazy separation.
I remember my first week.
Man, that shit was crazy.
I don't worry about stuff like that.
No, you shouldn't worry about anything, but there is a dad that should
because, man, those girls were going crazy.
There's nothing you can do at this point.
There's nothing you could do.
We did a lot, though.
Nothing you can do, man.
Don't worry, you got a few years.
You got what 15 years?
I know, but we won't be doing a pie by this.
It ain't the power that you got to.
I don't get worried about you.
I'm worried about you.
Nah, okay.
But she's okay?
Everything's fine?
Yeah.
I mean, the only thing you have as a father is like severe separation anxiety.
Yeah, yeah.
Like unbelievable separation.
Are you calling her a lot?
Oh, yeah.
Really?
I've spoken to her more in the past month than I ever did in my life on the phone.
You know what I'm saying?
Like texting, calling.
Like, it's not even close.
Like, yeah.
And it just feels good because you're going to, though.
As a father, that's all you want.
You just want to still feel needed.
One of itself they'll need.
That's it.
Yeah.
But eventually she's going to have to find somebody.
I mean, I hope she finds somebody good.
That guy, whoever that person is, is going to have a tall task ahead of them.
No, but, yeah, but like you find a few until you find your guy.
Like, maybe.
You're trying to get killed.
You don't think he'd be torturing me?
You don't think he would be torturing me.
That's a life.
My daughter's going to college.
This man right here.
You don't think he'd be torturing me.
Listen, to not accept the fact that, you know, you do realize the woman you are with is
somebody's daughter, right?
He's been saying.
The woman you're married to is somebody's daughter.
Like, your mother is somebody's daughter.
My mother is somebody's dog.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, it's-
You've been saying this, though.
I know that.
Listen, I understand it.
I get it.
Shout out my mom.
Every woman out here is somebody's daughter.
Exactly.
My question is a lot of white guys at this school, right?
Are you ready next to?
Not this Thanksgiving.
It's not happening.
Next Thanksgiving.
It's not happening.
Joe.
Joe!
That one I'm not even worried about.
Am I crazy?
Yeah, yeah.
You're crazy.
That one I'm not even worried about.
Nice white guy?
So wait, do you think that for Thanksgiving?
For Thanksgiving.
Two years.
She doesn't have to be attracted to them, though.
No, but it's not happening.
You don't think she's going to bring home a cracker?
No.
You don't think a cracker's going to come and knock him on that door?
Nah.
Jewish boy.
You don't think that he's going to be.
It's not happening.
She's going to bring home a matzah.
No.
I don't.
How you had those conversations with her, though?
Yes.
So she got to be with a black guy.
I let her hear Dr. Umar's speeches.
Dr. Umar don't listen to Dr. Umar.
She was four.
Listen, she was the age of four.
Don't put Dr. Umar here, you're a ball kiosk.
Listen, since she was the age of four.
What?
Okay.
Letting her hear Dr. Umar's speeches.
Yeah.
Yeah.
She's good.
Did she go into an HBCU?
No.
Who?
Your daughter?
No.
So the,
Statistics will probably be in white guys.
That's not true.
No, no, no, no.
It's black people at the school.
It's mad black people with the school.
I went to all white school.
I'm saying statistically.
A PWI.
Or white people.
No, yeah, but if that is going to be...
Statistically, there's more white people in the world.
In America.
In America.
In America.
She's going to be in...
Just remember, we're the minority.
She's going to be...
And we've done exceptional.
In the world.
We're being a minority in the world, we have done exceptional.
In America, white people are in the minority.
I just want to say, we've done a fantastic job.
Picking ourselves up.
by our bootstraps as minorities.
Right, Chris?
Max.
Charlemagne, what does it feel like?
I fully embrace.
What does it feel like to begin
an interview by Charleston?
What?
Because that's what this is,
this is right now.
This is like an all on Avengers attack on you.
And I'm showing you how to handle it
because it don't bother me.
See, the problem is it would bother all of you.
Yeah, I would.
I know.
It don't bother me.
If she said that shit to me,
shit.
I say worse.
I'm like...
I fully embrace life.
You really don't give a fuck.
But that's what you have to do.
And Chris, no, when your child goes off...
It's a rap.
It's let go.
It's over.
Like, it's part of it.
And it helps me to parent my other three better because I probably was too much of a micro-manager.
And now I'm forced to let go.
Like, you're like, oh.
But also, it's going to come freely.
Like, how I talk to...
Well, I don't talk to my dad, but...
everything, single thing, but he knows, like, why.
I'm saying, like, I'm not talking to him about.
About what?
I've talked about dating guys.
Why are you talking about college?
Like, why are we not talking about majors and what you're going to be in life?
Why are you going to do?
I don't remember.
But no, you got, I'm telling you, the, the craziest thing about college and there's a bunch
of fathers out there that go through it.
It's funny when you do it.
Chris was going through it last year.
It's worse this year.
Wait, why?
Why?
It's the sophomore year.
Why?
What you?
What?
Last year, my daughter had real bad separation in sight.
She wanted to come home after her first.
You didn't have it?
You didn't have it?
The one we met?
I'm out of here.
I'm coming home like a weekend.
How far is school?
L.A.
Cross the country.
Oh.
And I was like, trust you can be happy for about 30 seconds when you come home.
Then I'm going to start charging rent for your half of the bedroom.
Yeah.
You're going to be miserable.
You're going to be under so much pressure to get a job.
You've got to stick it out.
You've got to stick it out.
to stick it out. So what I was telling sorry before his daughter went, I was like, I know how
hard it is, but actually the worst version is them not being happy there. That's what's, I mean,
my life was miserable for like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She was crying every day. I don't fit in.
I'm upset. I'm depressed. Long and the story short, she stuck it out. She loves it now.
She's very happy there. So this year, I'm kind of like, relaxed. And then I realized, oh, God,
I really fucking miss her. Yeah, now you miss me. I see that before. But that's what I had.
I got separation anxiety now.
Like even when you talk, like guys and stuff is the least of your worries.
What you're concerned about is just her, period.
Period.
You being alone.
Guys are the only worries, bro.
Yeah.
No, you're bugging.
No.
This is real tough.
The most important thing is you know.
These girls were horny, man.
You want your kids to tell you.
I'm worried about safety.
Yeah.
I'm not thinking about those.
They were outrageously wrong.
No, but besides.
But does she, like, do you know if you like that?
Get out of here.
Get out of here.
Get away for me.
She has what?
Did you know if she had her first, like, alcohol or anything like that?
I'm not, stuff like that.
No, no, no, no.
No.
No.
That's what we're not.
No.
That's a micro.
All the sight of all.
Those are micro.
The answer is, yes.
What?
But she knows how to handle that.
Does she?
Does she?
Those are micros.
I went to a party school.
Why are saying that's micro?
Because the thing I'm concerned about is safety.
It's safety.
But that's a safety.
No, no, no, no, no.
Yes, it can be.
Oh, come on.
I get what you're saying, but you don't understand what I'm saying.
I'm thinking about something else.
Like, you gotta think when you have been with a person
their whole life.
Your whole life, but 18 years.
No, no, no, no, no, just that you've been protecting them for 18 years.
She's making it is so much more worse.
She's not.
She just don't understand because she don't have an older child.
No, wait, tell me, what are you trying to say?
Can I tell you something?
What?
I went to a party school and these girls were home.
I'm not talking.
Talking about the whole shit.
No. That's true.
He don't get it.
Like that's a light shit.
What is insanity.
That's the light shit.
You were like, get out of here.
That's the light shit.
We're not worried about it.
You're not inviting in a party.
I'm literally not talking about partying.
It's safety.
Exactly.
That's literally it.
But that's how I'm saying, though.
You're going to have to deal with at a time.
This is what's really tough.
It's coming summer when they come home from school and now there's no more curfew.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
So I had to put them out.
She's out for 4 a.m.
Oh.
I'm waking up at 3 a.m.
3.30.
Like, where the fuck is she?
Where was she?
She was at a club.
What club?
I don't know.
But then I go to my app and I see that now it's 5.30 a.m. 6 a.m.
They're at the same place.
And I'm like, hold on.
This place is shut down.
There's no way these kids are in there still.
And if they're still in there, something bad's happening.
So I get all my shit together.
To go.
To go.
I got to tell my wife, y'all, I'm going down to this club.
I got to see what's going on.
And she's like, I don't think that's what it is.
And I was like, what is it?
And she's like, her friend's boyfriend has an apartment in that building.
Oh.
So you're sure?
She said, yeah.
So finally, nine o'clock they called me.
Oh, yeah, we just went to, we decided to crash.
Nine o'clock what in the morning?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But because the club and the apartment building were in the same building.
So I just thought that they were.
But that's how, when you come up from college, yeah, you're, like to see.
There's no, there's no more curfew.
Yeah, exactly.
No more curfew.
But you also know who, you also know.
So I don't know who your child is.
Chris had three in the morning time.
Yeah, but at the same time.
I think she's still in the club.
When I'm saying safety stuff can happen.
I got to go check up on it, baby.
I'm the same way to feel like.
You got Life 360?
Yeah, Life 360.
Absolutely.
No, I just used find my location on that.
Really?
Yeah.
I'm just saying safety because when I went back to the alcohol, that's why I was doing.
That's why I know you ain't got no family.
Yeah.
No.
You ain't got no one you care about this.
You got to care of.
You don't care of.
You don't care of.
You don't care of.
60?
I've never heard.
It's an app
that tells you
everybody in your family.
It's a little much from me.
I just use the fine.
Yeah,
just fine mine.
No, you need life 360 better.
Life 360, fire.
We need life 360.
Yeah.
Life 360, way fine.
I don't even got fine.
But listen,
I'm not even joking.
Enjoy that.
Yeah.
Because in 16 years,
how old are your daughter?
My daughter is two and a half
and I'm going right after this podcast
ends to her preschool
like initiation.
And you're going to raise them in New York City?
Yeah, thanks so you got 10 years.
10 years for what?
Until it starts.
Yeah, pretty much.
The outside?
In New York City.
In New York City?
In middle school, there was a girl that was doing shit that was outlandish.
New York City?
Middle school is high school everywhere else.
It's crazy.
It's crazy.
Damn.
Wait, what, you say in New York?
Yeah, New York.
That's like that in fucking Lower Merion.
It was like that in Lower Merion?
But even still.
But even still, she's still going to be coming home at 12.
Coming home at 12.
Yeah.
When they go off to college, your first thought is, damn, she's not in the house no more.
Your second thought is she might not ever be in the house again.
You know what I mean?
Do you think back to your wild days when you were that age?
Nah, I didn't go to college.
I'm telling you, that's not, but I promise you and you'll see in the future, you will not, that's not your concern.
Like, those aren't the thoughts that are going to be going through your head.
Really?
Chris, they're going to know in the future.
They don't get it yet.
The father, at least in my case, your case, we don't have the birds and the bees
convo.
So you never had that combo?
I have the drug combo.
Yeah, but drug combo is easy.
Drug combo.
No, it's nice.
I know.
You got a napole.
Watch your surroundings combo.
Watch your surroundings combo.
Learn how to use this weapon combo, which I've been doing for years.
My daughter is carrying something now.
Word up.
You pull that out.
Word up.
That's what I'm thinking about.
It can't be for show.
Wait, what are your daughters?
Don't worry about it.
Yeah, but.
Okay.
Don't worry about it.
But that's what you, that's what you, that's what you, that's what you teach in your child.
Guns should be legal for, for girls.
Thank you.
And you got to start early.
I mean, not to be a downer, but.
But we got to take them away once you have babies.
I know where you're going.
We got to take them away.
Once you, once you girls have babies, we got to take them away.
That's not everybody.
You might have to take away stretching bands, too.
We got to take away everything from that one's day.
Oh, my gosh.
We got to take them away.
We can't, I think women should be able to have guns up until they have babies.
And then we got to kill her kids with guns, though.
No.
Yeah, but you don't think if she had one, she would have?
Might have been better.
Probably.
That shit was crazy.
I mean, better in the most relative sense.
I just can't imagine strangling your own.
Oh, God, let's not talk about that.
That's so dark.
The thing that bugs me out about her case is how calm she is in court.
It's like no emotion whatsoever, not a tear, no anger.
Like, she's just like a, she's so like a robot in court.
Like, bro, they're crazy.
Stop.
That is not everyone.
They're going to be crazy.
Their women are crazy.
Stop.
Angie, that is not.
What we got to stop doing is acting like it's not a special case.
We enable it.
I would never try to harm my child.
But the reason it's not a special case is because it happens often.
Postpartum psychosis.
No, absolutely, you're right.
It's too common.
But it's not even the postpartum.
We just allow you guys to be crazy and we don't call it out enough.
And maybe if we did, then it would be a little safer for everybody.
But then there was a black woman in the Bronx that they didn't sentence to jail for killing your kids.
Really?
There's like a million of these.
But as a father of daughters, like, this is another thing I worry about.
Like, can you imagine if your daughter has a baby and, like, the entire family's looking forward to this?
And there's how much joy?
They can't be allowed just to go free, though.
There's got to be conscious.
I don't know what the answer is, man.
Yeah, I don't know if it's jail.
But it's like a mental institution.
Yeah, definitely a mental institution.
I mean, a mental institution is technically jail.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, it's like, you're sending.
You just can't let them function society because...
No, you can't.
You can't go back.
And the punishment for anyone else's life is yours.
They can't.
Can you imagine walking around?
That's what I'm saying.
Like that Lindsay Clancy lady is going to go crazy at some point.
And when it, like when reality sets in and she's like, oh, shit.
You know what I mean?
You sitting in your house and you see a outfit or a memory flashes back.
You probably kill it.
She tried to kill herself already.
She did.
She's paralyzed.
She paralyzed, yeah.
Oh, that's what's happening right now.
She's paralyzed from the waist down.
right now.
Yeah.
I didn't know.
Bad scene.
Bad, man.
Yeah, it's just.
It is.
Listen,
life, man.
You got to do better, man.
Well, I think what, you know, what's scary about that, too, is if you look
on paper, she did all the right things, right?
She had severe postpartum.
She saw a million different therapists and psychiatrists.
She got different medications.
They, you know, and she still did this horrific thing.
Was there history in the past with her having?
Don't think so, though.
They say if you do have mental health issues.
your chances of having a real serious postpartum probably go up significantly.
Damn.
It is real and a lot of women do.
Why think it's so dark, bro?
God damn.
We were having a nice, lighthearted conversation.
I know.
Jesus Christ.
I mean, it's a dark topic.
We got to make it, yeah, we can't make that topic silly, but we can be silly about
other things.
Can you make that topic silly?
Not really.
Nah.
Yeah.
I mean, there's always, you know, on the,
brilliant idiots there's always a way to
yeah I mean maybe
it's always a way
no y'all can we night
listen to what you mean
let's not what you mean
my feeling is
there's really not
yeah it is really not
I think it's men's fault
why
because I think we let women be fucking stupid
all the time
we do and then we don't call them out
and being fucking stupid all the time
and you would not tolerate the
shit for us that we tolerate from you.
I tolerate y'all all the time.
Yeah, but you wouldn't tolerate the stupidity than you.
You know what's interesting?
Okay, okay, let's look at this scenario.
Women can believe in rocks.
You can believe in crystals having powers.
I believe in.
That's retarded for that.
That's not a woman thing.
If you walked into a man's house and he's like,
oh, before you come in, I just need to sage the door,
would you be like, oh, this guy's on my spiritual wavelength?
This guy's a fucking loser that believes in sage and rocks.
Listen, I have a theory.
Think about this thought for a second.
I would feel to have a way that you're staging you when I come in because I'm not the devil.
Okay, listen, if Lindsey Clancy, right, Lindsay Clancy killed their kids.
Yeah.
Rest and peace to those kids.
They say it's postpartum psychosis.
Yeah.
What if in a rage, right, in a fit of insanity, the husband or the father of the children killed Lindsay?
You know what I'm saying?
You see what I'm saying?
Do you prosecute him now?
What if, what if, what if Jeffrey Dahmer was so hungry that he was enraged?
Hangary.
He got hungry, and that's why he had to eat up all those dudes.
That's too different.
Yeah, that's, no.
I'm talking about the circle of life.
That's two different things.
Okay, right?
Because what you said made a lot of sense when you said that sometimes we, uh,
deal, what was the word you use?
You said, we tolerate this shit from women, right?
We just tolerate that.
So postpartum psychosis, what if that leads?
You're a Sagittarius.
Shut the fuck up.
What if that leads to the father?
You shut the fuck up.
I don't even know what he's talking about.
It's so stupid.
Guys, we just tolerate the most retarded behavior for women.
Remember last week when I said he was going to say something dumb?
You know what I mean?
I'm defending not killing kids.
No, you're not.
Somehow you have turned into misogyny of all women.
It's misogynistic to apply the same level of respect for men and women.
Huh?
I don't believe if Alex is talking about, oh, I can't come into work today.
My rising sun is in Sagittarius.
Who says that, though?
Girls!
They do not say I can't come to work because of that.
I believe in astrology?
Man, stop, I do.
It's worked for me my whole life.
Stop.
It's work for me my whole life.
You don't really believe in that.
I do.
And you're saying if like...
Yo, I can look at a can...
I can tell when somebody's a cancer.
Like, I know 50 cents a cancer.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Just because by how he moves.
Like, I get it.
I can see it.
I can see the traits that I have in other people that are my son.
I don't be honest, though.
I know you're a Libra.
I'm not a Libra.
No, he's a little...
Oh, shit, you know?
See how stupid it is?
You know what I mean?
It's just so dumb.
I just tried to.
I know what I told him.
He's like 12 of them.
I'm gonna get one.
I knew you was a Scorpio.
I can tell you on Scorpio.
So what are you?
I'm a Scorpio.
Exactly.
I was like, what are you?
I just said it.
No, but I can tell you a Scorpio because you are extra horny for no reason.
I'm not.
Scorpio's be extra fuck.
He's not horny.
What?
Yeah.
Are you crazy?
I'm not.
You don't think you horny?
No.
This guy be horny.
I've been horny a little bit.
I've been horny a little bit.
I've been horny a little bit.
I've been already a little bit, man.
What do we got, Taylor?
This guy is crazy, man.
I didn't know that was because I was a Scorpio.
Yes, because you're...
No, Scorpio's, y'all are different.
I thought it was more had to do with that than anything else.
What do we got, Taylor?
What do we got?
Let's do some by-any memes necessary.
You change it every time.
What is this?
So Kevin in the States says there's two types of people in the world.
those who poop at work and those who never poop out work.
Is that true?
I don't see how you can not poop at work.
Yeah, what if you got-
It's impossible.
You go holding your poop all day?
I know someone that does it.
Who?
That's for-Cathoran.
You know her too.
Are they a Capricorn?
No, they're a Scorpio.
They're such a squirpourpy.
Who don't poop at work?
Who?
No, she's on maternity leave.
That's a goddamn lie.
She proved to my house, so I know she pooped at work.
Fuck out of here.
If you go to somebody at it,
If you pooping somebody's guest bathroom and like, and you just dance for, you just there for a couple hours.
I know you poop at work.
Fuck out of here.
What you're supposed to do?
She can't tell me that lie.
I would poop in.
Anywhere.
She can't tell me that lie.
Way to shine I'm poop.
Bird is born.
Bus stations?
What do you mean bus station?
Portopi.
Oh my fucking God.
Oh, my God.
That's crazy.
I go cheek to bowl.
That's why I got my daughter a weapon.
Here's the real test.
You shit in a porta potty?
Subway bathroom?
He's so happy about it.
There's bathrooms on the subway?
Atlantic Avenue has one I thought about it.
Yo, this, y'all, I mean, if I had you, I would.
You're all different.
Yo, homeless people don't even do that, bro.
They do.
No, they don't.
They see me going in there.
Why do you think you see human shit on the subway?
Ew.
Or in the terminal.
What?
They rather shit there than in the bathroom, bro.
They rather shit on the sidewalk or in the actual terminal than going to subway.
Right, because I'm in the bathroom.
Oh, my God.
Oh, I'm not going to stop in there too.
Porta potty, Joe.
I avoid porta parties, yo.
You got, I refuse to go into porta potty.
Like, it has to be a diet.
What?
Porter potty?
A porta potty's kind of nice.
No.
What?
I like it.
No, no, no.
Which ones are you talking about?
Maybe the fly shit.
With the see-through toilet paper.
Seat-thru toilet paper.
Thin toilet paper.
Yeah.
You look like you bought the shit in one right now.
I love to.
Oh my God.
My daughter just texted me this weekend.
She said, I just pooped that Port Authority.
I said, now you've...
Made it.
You've reached God level in New York City.
Why did your daughter poop at Port Authority?
We talk about everything.
Why did she do that?
She was going upstate.
She was taking a bus.
She was afraid to poop on the bus, so she had to go to...
Why did she do before she left the house?
Sometimes...
God, damn.
Tomorrow's have a stomach.
She's sure all the soy that she's eating her whole life.
You don't have a strong of stomach?
If you're in Port Authority, you got to go on.
I don't want to do this topic, man.
I didn't know it was going to get this prank.
My daughter is potty training, right?
So she pees in the potty, but she's not really there yet with the poop.
So she likes to put on a diaper.
She'd be like, I have to poop.
Can you put on my dinosaur diaper?
Because those are the diapers.
She likes to poop in.
And I put on a diaper.
And then she goes, I'm going to go into my corner and poop.
Can you read me a book?
And then she goes into the corner, and then she just does like a mini split.
And then she just, I see her face turn red.
as she pushes it out.
It's just amazing.
The fact that she even wants you to read, though,
because most kids don't even want to do that.
Most kids just go away, they sneak off, do their business.
Like, you got to be like, did you poop?
Like, they don't even want you to know that they're doing it.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
That's so cute.
She's my daughter.
That's crazy.
What else we got, Taylor?
I thought that poop topic was going to be at least something to discuss,
but no, they got too gross, too fucking flat.
Like, I didn't know y'all be putting ass cheeks on porta-potty toilet.
Yeah, that's not.
That is horrible.
And I always say that you pull up and shit anywhere, but that's wild.
You really think that that's that crazy?
What?
That's the worst place.
But isn't it crazier?
Is it crazier than shit my pants?
Because that's the only alternative.
Exactly.
I'm going to shit my pants.
I can't hold in.
Like, there's some people that can, they can hold it in the whole day.
I can hold it in for 15 total minutes.
I think it would be better to hide behind like a car or something.
Dead ass I almost shit on a helicopter.
I rather you shit on a helicopter than in the pot of it.
I almost did.
I had incredible diarrhea, explosive.
diarrhea. And I was like, how long is this ride? They were like, it's 15 minutes. And I was like,
all right, I think I got it. And I fucking pooped right before. I got him. We took off.
And there was a moment where I was like, open a door. Why did you just randomly have explosive
diarrhea? I got food poisoning. Really? Yeah. He said open it. Yeah. Yeah. Shots don't even
realize something wrong with his stomach. No, I really don't. This shit has been going on for years,
bro. Years. You've had an ailment. Like, this shit is not normal. I know. But in my brain is normal.
No, it's not. Go to the doctor.
I'm used to it.
I eat three times a day.
I poop three times a day.
Tell me that's not regular.
No, no, no.
You got some.
Do you shit on the toilet a lot at home?
Are you stay on the toilet?
Do I spend time there?
Yeah, like a lot.
Oh, yeah.
I'll hemorrhoid myself.
I always said Andrew will pull up and shit anywhere.
Anyway.
You, like, a toilet.
Ate to see Andrew coming.
That motherfucker talking.
Like, he's like the number one gangbanger for toilet.
So, when I would, I'm like, D-Bo.
Word is born.
Bove.
See what I'm saying?
He's like the Lindsey-Com.
Clancy your toilet.
When I was looking to buy an apartment in the city, my realtor hated me because every
apartment we would look at, I would take a shit in.
So he would just be there with the person selling the apartment while I'm fucking
a bathroom.
It says you're not supposed to spend more than five to ten minutes on the toilet at one time.
I know.
I spent 30 or 45.
Oh, my God.
Same.
What?
Yeah.
Why do you spend so much time on the toilet?
I watch a whole TV show.
I watch lanterns.
I think there's a man thing, though.
Lantern's is so fire.
Lantern's really good.
Fire.
Did you see episode four?
Yeah, Lantern's really good.
Really fire, bro.
Lenthal's really good.
I figured I knew that the man eater was going to be that woman, yo.
Yeah.
It is crazy.
Why John Stewart so horny?
I don't know.
Like, God damn.
He's just a freaky motherfucker, yo.
Shit.
You know, he never asked if that wife is wearing the ring.
Does she have a fucking ring?
Which one?
The one he's...
Nail it all the fucking time.
But yeah, but like, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That shit is good.
It's amazing how they just took true detective.
And then flipped it to a marble.
And flipped it, man.
Like this shit, like that shit is,
Lanterns is really, really good.
It's good, man.
It's good.
It's good.
What does it come on?
HBO.
All right, let's take a break.

Ever feel like car shopping is designed
to make you second-guess yourself?
I know I have.
You find a vehicle you like, then immediately start wondering,
is this really a good price?
Am I missing something?
That's one reason.
I appreciate Car Gurus.
It puts the important information right in front of you.
Deal ratings, price history, dealer reviews.
And if the price drops, you'll know right away.
It's no wonder Car Gurus is the number one rated car shopping app in Canada
on the Apple App and Google Play Store.
I also love their new Guru feature.
Instead of clicking through endless filters,
you simply describe the kind of vehicle you want, in your own words,
and Guru finds listings that match.
It's a smart, easy way to shop.

Why is this woman on our screen, y'all?
I was trying to lighten the mood.
Tell dub come here.
All right, what are we watching?
Sydney Sweeney.
You don't see this?
I did see.
What do you say?
Sidney Sweeney is what?
It's naked on top of a basketball hoop and nuclear.
commercial.
It's a commercial for Novi?
Damn.
Novi.
She still with Skuda?
Yeah.
Skuda allowed that?
If he allows them to do Euphoria, sure.
Sports, prove it.
Novik is just sports.
So they wanted to show
just sports.
Yeah.
You can trade this sport
and this sport.
How about this?
This sport, too.
Or this?
Sports, sports, sports, sports, sports.
Sports. Sports. Sports. Sports.
You can't trade this. I just look at here.
What is Novi?
Yeah.
Is there another gambling app?
I don't know, but I like it.
I got to talk to the scooter, man.
That's crazy, yo.
Kind of crazy to beat. It's kind of crazy to have.
have all that money and your girl out there doing that, bro.
Got to talk to school.
But you know what, though?
Shout out.
I'm going to take, that's the age difference.
Can't control it.
You know what I'm saying?
You can't control it.
That's the age there.
There ain't nothing you can do, bro.
You got to shut the fuck up.
You got to put up with it.
That's right.
Listen, when it's that type of age gap, you got to put up with it.
That's what that is.
That's what the fuck that is, yo.
That's a good ass point.
You don't even care.
I don't care that you got all that money.
Please, I got money too.
I got money too.
And.
And what?
Oh, my God.
So you got it kind of,
that's a, listen, you make a great point, Charlemagne.
He looks good for his age, though.
You make a great point.
How old is good.
He's 45.
I didn't know that.
Holy Sidney 20.
28.
God damn.
Yeah, he can't do nothing.
He can't do nothing but shut the fuck up.
I thought she was older.
Huh?
I thought she was older.
Yeah, I thought she was like in the 30s.
You're hating, bro.
Why?
Why?
You're going to hate on that, what is she,
new being, not a newbie.
What did she use to call the white, newbie queens?
White new being queen.
Yeah, you hate on that white newbie and queen?
I love Sunni.
Well, no, I'm going to say lover.
You love her?
I'm going to say lover.
But I really liked her in Euphoria.
I thought she played in Euphoria.
I thought she played a great, like, that role.
The last season of Euphoria wasn't as bad as y'all made it out to be easy.
I thought, I got to go back and watch it.
It wasn't as bad as y'all made.
Why is it?
It wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't, like,
horrible. I don't think it was terrible, but I just think that...
It didn't have... We didn't know what was going on. You know what it was? You never...
It's one of those shows you didn't, you really don't want to see the characters grow up.
They should have got the most out of euphoria when all of those kids were young enough to be in high school.
It's like...
Yeah.
High school was the setting.
Like...
You know, what is that show?
Saved by the bell, but like, you don't want to see saved by the bell of course.
Nah, no. Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. Exactly.
Like, the dysfunction is cool when they're in high school because you understand it.
A safe environment. It's silly.
That's right.
That show, it was pretty.
dark, but it was dark for high school. And then you see them enter the real world, you're like,
you're like, now got to get darker. Yeah. And now y'all just losers.
You can get jobs, guys. Word is born. You don't have to be out here selling drugs and all this
stupid shit. Like, you're just a fucking loser. And the fact that Fizz wasn't dead.
I know. That was, that shit was silly, man. That thought, I mean, it was silly. It wasn't, it wasn't
great like the first two seasons. It just, they had no plot to it. It's a wild ad, man. It's a wild ad.
But we're literally reviewing an ad.
Alex over there bricked up.
You bricked up.
You was being a megatown.
Hey, this is a friend of the show.
That was just fine acting.
Sydney and Scooter, friends of the show.
Fine acting.
Don't be bricked up over there.
You're letting Dr. Umer down, yo.
I mean, he is letting Dr. Umer down.
But he already...
Well, speaking of, Alex, how do you feel about Fat Joe in the N-Wart?
Because we were thinking, like, you're black and Puerto Rican, so where do you fall?
Yeah.
Yo, it's crazy.
You guys just found out Fancho's white.
I know.
Like, well, he's not white.
Yo, Burmicans can be white.
His daddy is Afro-Cuban.
Cubans can be white, too.
No, his father is Afro-Cuban, though.
Oh, he's a black guy.
That's what he said.
I don't care.
By the way, I don't care.
I don't think we should use the word.
Yeah.
Like, that's what I do.
I think it's wild that you have black and brown people sitting around arguing about who can use the N-word.
Get at word.
back to the crackers.
That ain't let...
Don't do that now.
Think about how hilarious it is.
Think about how hilarious it is.
I'm saying no.
Think about how hilarious it is that they created a word to dehumanize and demean us
and we're fighting over ownership of it.
Hey, no, but it's dumb.
Changing the meaning.
No, it's not.
I know that sounds good.
All that sounded good when we was in high school.
Now, at 48 when I watched it, I'm like, this sounds so fucking stupid.
I watched some of the dumbest arguments this weekend,
and I'm just like, you know what?
I don't even want to say the word.
I don't want to say it.
Because it's like when he say stuff like that,
oh, he took away the power.
I shouldn't have to take a knife and stab myself.
You know what I mean?
I'll be honest with you, bro.
To show you that it don't hurt.
Once you guys started saying it, it stopped being cool, bro.
I remember once you guys started saying it,
Taylor, move on, Taylor, Taylor, Taylor,
Taylor, move on.
I don't know why you bought this up in front of it.
Wait, wait, how's this?
I don't know.
How is this?
Because this has been a black and brown conversation all weekend.
Okay?
All right.
Let them.
I'm playing Chris.
Exactly.
I'm playing Chris.
You, Chris, come on.
Remember when black people started saying that how we got off that shit?
We're like, nah, bro, that shit is not cool.
That's black, bro.
That shit is not cool.
Not in the morrow house.
You know, they stay true?
They say true.
My grandfather, man, he let that thing fucking.
He let it fly?
Really?
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
My grandfather was a stone.
How did he used to say it?
Now it's the term of endearment, right?
All the more reason why we shouldn't be using it.
Now, your grandpa's still alive?
No, he's been dead for God bless the day.
There's people.
God bless the day.
Even though he was ripping the men's?
Hey, listen, I got all that good.
Laft and right.
It was.
Now, I want y'all to think about that.
Now, think about that.
There's an older white man still alive with that mentality,
sitting back watching black and brown people argue about the N-WR.
He was like, man, they used to fight us for using that word.
You know what I'm saying?
They used to fight us for using that word.
Now they're fighting each other to use it.
No, you're not wrong.
You're not wrong.
By the way, all of those dumb-ass arguments changed the ER, that G-R, all of that shit sounded
it made so much sense 20 years ago.
Now it's like, what the fuck are we doing?
It's like the white party in the Hampton.
What you mean?
It's like, once you see, you saw the guys hugging each other from the back, you're like,
that shit ain't as cool as it used to be, right?
Shut the fuck up.
I'm just saying.
Move on, Taylor.
Taylor.
Don't use the word.
You gotta stop you.
Nobody should use it.
Nobody should use it.
You guys should definitely take after white people and stop using the word.
I think you should adopt our culture.
Shut up.
It's your fault.
This is your fault.
Now Taylor telling Andrew to shut up and you brought it up in front of him.
You did this.
And I knew this was going to happen.
Why are you doing, Claude?
Because why?
You're perfect.
In my eyes, you're perfect.
Shut up.
I forgive you for saying that horrible word that I would never say.
And then Chris's grandpa probably never said either.
He's just lying.
No, Chris's grandpa used to go crazy.
What is this right here, Taylor?
So this is...
Earlier today, making a bigger pause.
Earlier today, AI researcher Jacob Coxon,
who spent the past three years working at Open AI
and Anthropic, publicly resigned from Anthropic warning
that both companies are raising towards super-intelligence.
and gambling with our lives.
Then Evan Hubinger,
anthrop...
What is it?
Anthropos,
Anthropics, current head of alignment,
stress testing, agreed with him saying,
people inside the company genuinely believe
AI could kill all humans.
He would just said he personally pushed the chance
of AI wiping our humanity
for in the next decade at greater than 10%
and said Anthropics still does not have a plan
to solve the problem.
Right now there's no risk of extinction.
The current models, the worst they can do
is maybe hack into something
potentially cause a lot of damages.
in infrastructure, but there's no, they're not intelligent enough to outsmart us at the level
that would lead to extinction. I think what's just crazy is to look at the rate of progress,
and there is a very real possibility that in the immediate future, these are years that,
like, next year, the year after, recursive self-improvement will happen and will enter the phase
of Evans Post where he argues that there's a chance we could all die. Like, that is coming soon.
Yo, and what are you supposed to do?
That's all I'm saying stop crying
I mean I'm not saying stop crying
I'm just saying what do we're here's my thing
It's like just unplug it
If it's already too powerful to unplug we're too far
Yes it is
If it's already too powerful to unplug
We're way past the point of no returns
What are we gonna do? What are we gonna do? You better watch
Press pause
You wanna press pause? You wanna press pause? How?
How? Is Russia gonna press pause? Is China gonna press pause?
They should
Well I mean these are real questions but
And there's a term
for that. I forget, you know, it's the race to the end. But none of this is being regulated.
None of this is being, it's open season right now. We really don't know what the outcome is going to be.
And if you listen to the guys for the AI companies talk, I mean, I went to a very interesting thing.
It was a private thing, so I can't say what it was. But like a famous director interviewed Sam Altman and a bunch of AI guys about eight years ago, right?
right when they were starting and like probably talking a little bit more freely than they would now
because the stakes didn't seem quite as high.
But like there's an inevitability about this all that these guys are approaching with this with
where it's just like we're going to change society.
We're going to do this.
We're going to make these.
This is a critical moment in the course of human history and we're taking it in this other direction.
And I'm like, says who?
We know it's interesting.
We haven't.
There hasn't been like a.
I could solve this whole AI shit.
Let me hear it.
Just make healthcare cheap.
Well, that's got, I mean, I'm about to use AI to make health care cheap.
I'm about to become a single, whatever.
These AI companies are so retarded.
They're trying to make AI likable.
And they're not solving any of the problems.
Solve cancer and then I'll solve.
It's like, this is very easy.
What are the big problems right now, right?
That you could probably use AI to solve, right?
You could definitely make health care cheaper.
All the bureaucratic bullshit going back and forth, people taking advantage of different
health care plans and doctors.
Yeah, but now you got the health care companies battling with the tech guys.
Okay, well, then you get to be the good guy.
If you're the AI company and you're sitting there going, you know what?
These health care companies are taking advantage of you.
We're going to allow AI to make your health care cheaper and they're going to hate us for it.
The enemy of your enemy is your friend.
But now the health care company's got to get the tech guys clap.
Well, then, hey, man, that's the casualties of a dice game.
Because that's really what it's going to boil down to.
It's really going to boil down to Big Bank, Take Little Bank.
I'm not done.
You fuck it with the church's money.
I'm not, now, what else is expensive?
Housing.
Solve it with AI.
All the bureaucratic bullshit that it takes and the red tape in order to get a building
erected in every fucking city.
Use it.
Use AI to streamline all that shit.
So you're not waiting 12 months.
You're not wrong, but you would need all of these capitalist people to come together
to do all of this together.
You can't, like the AI people just can't go do that.
They would need the housing people to be on board with it.
would need to help get companies to be involved.
And you put a lot of people out of work.
What I'm saying, okay, here's the other thing about AI.
I don't, I don't think AI is going to, okay, AI is definitely going to affect, like, the job market for sure.
But what I think it's going to do is this going to supercharge really ambitious people.
So the really ambitious person is going to be able to do 10 things in the time that they could do one thing.
And they've always wanted to do 10.
And now they're able to do 10.
And the person that might not be as maniacally ambitious, maybe they want a stable job so they
could appreciate their home life and their family or the hobbies or the things they do,
which is also awesome and amazing.
They're not going to be able to compete now with the supercharged guy who's doing 10 things with one thing.
That's how I think it affects the job market.
Because there's going to be way more opportunities for growth within it.
You use AI, just like anybody you know that you use, if you use AI for research for a guest or something like that,
Now you have 10 different research documents.
You know what I look at AI as, especially Chad GBT.
I look at it as performance enhancing growth.
But it can't make a terrible player Michael Jordan.
But that's what I'm saying.
But it can make A-Rod a better version of A-Rod.
Or Barry Bond's a better version of Barry Bond.
But what is that due to the job economy, right?
It's going to wipe out entire sectors.
It's going to wipe out graphic designers.
I'm not saying.
No, no, graphic design sucks.
I'm not saying it doesn't.
You know what?
Paralegals.
I mean, I could give you 30.
But Chris, I'm not saying that it doesn't affect it.
I'm not trying to say it doesn't affect it.
But there's another way to look at it where it's going to make people's output 10x, right?
A single person who's ambitious and hungry wants to get after it.
It's going to allow one person to compete with a whole industry of people.
In the same way that the Internet allowed us to compete with fucking late night television, et cetera.
Sure, sure.
Now, does that completely wipe out?
Yes, has it affected late night short?
Did they transition? Sure. But think about how many more podcasts and how many more shows exist now because of technological advancements.
So, like, I don't have the doomsday approach where, like, the job economy doesn't change at all. It just wipes out sectors.
I think the job economy starts to transition where I think the joblessness happens is, is there one person's going to be able to do 10.
And it's going to take other people who maybe only kind of wanted to do one to adopt that.
I'm going to tell you what changed my mind about AI. I still think that the biggest problem that we're going to
to have with AI is just that people don't know
what's real and what's not real anymore. But I'm talking about
as far as things like chat GPT,
bro, that shit is really, those
couple of prompts I read on the podcast
a couple of weeks ago, bro,
if you really find those
prompts and you talk to people who can give
you like the proper prompt, like this doing things like
slash human or
you know, telling, like
telling it to be brutally honest with you,
but telling it exactly what this,
exactly what to say.
Bro, that shit is like finding
the contra code, bro.
When you get 32 extra men, bro.
This is just the new Microsoft suite.
When you have to apply for a job and they're like,
oh, do you know how to use Excel?
You know how to use all the...
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
This is just the new version of it.
Yes.
And the people who know how to use it better
will be able to excel in a job market.
But I think what this guy specifically is talking about,
the guy who quit Anthropic,
isn't these more like daily applications?
It's more on an apocalyptic level
where he's saying, AI is now improving itself.
We're not improving it anymore.
Yes.
control, and these guys really believe that there's a scenario in the not too distant future
where AI takes over. And if you watch some of these interviews with these leaders 10 years ago,
they're okay with that.
Right. Hold on. They believe that a world run by AI is better.
I'm not saying that that's not like a thing that we should be concerned at. It's absolutely a thing
we should be concerned. Just like, for example, if you run a lab with coronaviruses in it,
you should be concerned if something leaks out of it, right? Because it could affect the global
economy. That's crazy. You always got to bring it back to China when you talk. Anyway, I never said
that's interesting that. That was fucked up. That was fucked up. I don't know why you did that. Because I didn't
bring that up at all. I didn't bring it up at all. I think everything's fine.
What you going to do now? The point that I'm trying to says, yes, you should be careful with anything.
And obviously there's catastrophic concerns 100%. Yes. All I'm saying is the marketing,
if I'm on the marketing side of these AI companies that they are freaking out. They're like,
we're not going to be able to build data centers. We're not going to be able to be able to be,
they're freaking out. If I was part of the,
their team, I'd be like, hey, the health care thing is a good idea. I would say, why don't you
look at the problems that people are facing right now? Real people are facing right now. The people
who hate you, solve their problems instead of solving the people who buy your stock's problems.
Maybe your stock doesn't go up as high, but now the everyday person is using your product
so that they can find affordable housing, so they can get affordable health care, and all the
other concerns that they have in their lives. Use AI for the thing we all thought it was going to be
here for to make our lives better.
You're absolutely right, but then now you're in direct conflict with, like I said, the
healthcare companies.
Good.
And they don't have no problem having conflict with us, regular everyday people.
But boy, them capitalists don't like having conflict with each other.
Well, they're going to have to be because that's the whole point of capitalism.
Capitalism is not, you have no conflict with each other.
Capitalism is competition.
If there's no competition, we don't live in a capitalist society.
Competition is what's going to make this shit great.
Okay.
But are you comfortable with this thing progressing at the speed that it's
progressing, where the stakes are bigger than local economies or even national economies, where the
stakes are potentially the future of mankind? Are you okay with these companies making the decision
what's an acceptable risk? Or do you think people should have a say in that? But Chris, I'm not
disagreeing with you at all, but don't you think we live in a country that has always had a acceptable
risk? But I don't think we have tobacco companies. Outside of nuclear weapons, we have nuclear weapons, I
don't think the tobacco companies.
The way they process foods.
Viruses. These guys are saying
10% chance in the next 10 years
society gets wiped out. Do you
believe there is a greater than 10% chance
that AI could kill all humans
potentially within a decade? So
this is the kind of thing that it's very hard to
estimate because we've never had
anything like this before. We've never
created beings that may soon be smarter
than us. We don't know what's going to
happen. We should obviously be cautious.
It will be very foolish to say there was
a 1% chance. Nobody knows how to estimate it. A 10% chance seems not an unreasonable estimate to me,
but nobody really knows how to give a sensible estimate. Right, but you just said 10% doesn't seem
an unreasonable estimate that AI could kill all humans. Yes. Wow. Oh my God. How many people
have cancer wiped out? Tobacco. Way too many. I love the idea of using it. How many people have processed
food wiped out.
But there are choices within a system that you can make to avoid those things.
But we never make them.
But maybe the conversation, well, here's the problem.
The reality is none of us know what changes have to be implemented within these programs.
So book guard rails and safety, right?
None of us know if these things are already happening.
None of us know if these whistleblowers have, I mean, a lot of these whistleblowers have been
working there for the last 20 years.
So what the fuck happened in the last month?
So we don't know exactly what's going on.
Right.
Right.
is why Bernie Sanders, for instance, is saying we got a hit pause.
We have to have hearings.
We have to have a whole national.
They already voted not to have regulation on AI for the next 10th decade.
It's in the big, beautiful bill, right?
Yeah, well, we got to look at that.
But you said outside of nukes, but I don't think you could say outside of nukes.
Because people were saying the same thing when we were creating all these nukes
and every country was on the rush to get their own nuke.
I mean, anybody can press the button and knock out.
And the fact is, AI now makes the likelihood of a nuclear war.
exponentially greater.
Why?
Because they can fucking hack the systems
and decide it's time for nuclear war.
Not because they don't have the keys that go like that.
Let me tell you something.
You can only say nuclear...
You want to hear some wild shit?
And the keys are too far for one person to do it,
so it has to be two people at the exact same time.
This is me talking to Chad GP the other day.
I said, yo, chat, let me ask you a question.
Do you have a conscience?
Chat goes, you can ask me anything.
No, I don't have a conscience in the human sense.
I can reason about morality,
recognize harm,
weight competing values, challenge you when I think something is wrong and explain why.
But I don't feel guilt, compassion, shame, love, fear, or moral responsibility.
There's no private emotional experience inside me saying I couldn't live with myself if I did that.
What I do have is something that can sometimes look like a conscience, training, rules, reasoning
abilities, and an understanding of human values that influence what I say and what I won't help with.
There's an important distinction.
A person can know right from wrong and feel the weight of that knowledge.
I can reason about right and wrong, but I don't experience the weight.
And that's actually a fascinating question because it gets to the heart of whether intelligence
and consciousness are the same thing.
They aren't necessarily.
And then it said, what made you ask me that?
Look.
Stop asking questions, motherfucker.
What made you ask you?
Yo, stop asking questions, Charlotte.
That's crazy.
He said, mind your fucking business.
Oh, no.
Now they're trying to gather data on why people are worried about consciousness to form their
answers going down the road.
He just wants more information.
It feeds off of this.
The problem is,
Now it's feeding off itself.
It's not just feeding off of us anymore.
It's always had synthetic data sets.
I mean, yeah.
I'll tell you one thing.
Do you put in some of these prompts, bro?
I'm telling you, this shit is like a Nintendo game, bro.
I ain't even going to lie to you.
If you put in some of these prompts, oh, what's the one?
Here's the thing about AI.
It sucks and it's annoying and fuck it until it helps you with some shit.
Like your fucking dryer's broken and it's leaking and then you take a picture and send it.
I fixed the fucking turntable this weekend.
It's unbelievable the shit that you can.
it can help you fix by just sending a picture.
It's incredible.
Yo, putting in brutal truth mode.
Nah, I'm scared of it.
The prompt, this is what you type in.
Skip the reassurance.
Tell me what's wrong with.
And you put in whatever, you know, you're playing, whatever it is.
I want weaknesses, not validation.
Give me the three reasons this could fail that I'm least prepared to hear.
Love it.
Dad, shit.
Well, it's like, whoa.
Rock you.
Yeah, but it's good.
It's actually like good information that is giving you.
It's like telling you the truth, like, on some.
I think, like, better than the friend that you have that always tells you the truth.
I put my entire financial plan in there.
Oh, no, you want to say.
That's what you're not supposed to do.
I did.
Why?
And what is it say?
You might need a new advisor, man.
Too.
Damn.
Says someone stealing from you?
Oh, wow.
Damn.
Well, somebody said you're not supposed to do stuff like that.
Now, you went a little too far.
My wife didn't like it, but I was like, fuck it.
Yeah, you're not supposed to do that.
Your wife is your financial advisor?
No.
He was like, divorce or JETBD.
He's like, get a new one.
Why?
No, no.
Come on.
What?
Forget who he's married to?
Yeah, but he's the Jewish one.
Like, he should be doing the financial team.
The irony is you got a Jew and an Asia.
We both suck at math.
That's great.
He said it.
How that happened?
I have a theory on that.
What happened?
I have a theory.
What's the theory?
Andrew.
Something in the water?
What happened?
No, why?
Why would you think it's a water-related thing?
I have no idea.
I thought maybe that was the answer.
Something.
What do we both?
We both miss that gene.
I mean, it is crazy that you wouldn't be good at math
and your Asian wife wouldn't be good at math.
And it's almost like both of you was trying to outsource it to one another.
And then it failed.
I was like my math problems have been solved.
I never have to worry about this shit again.
And then she comes in.
Is she really not good at it?
And both my kids are no good at math.
Damn.
But they're girls, though.
They are girls.
That's true.
I don't mean it as like
It's trying to defy stereotypes
That's all this is
You're more artsy
So I would imagine your girls
Maybe you're more artsy, artsy and client
Right right right
And my wife is very arts
She's a dancer very arts
So like I imagine that's
A little math
Say what?
Little math
Because you need the grandparents around bro
If the grandparents aren't there
Can ask a question
When we say Asians were good at math
Like what do we mean by that?
Like what is like
Where did that even come from?
Like that stereotype had to come from somewhere
Can I be on?
honest with you?
This is not even a joke because my high school
was half Asian. Okay, okay.
And that was the only class that they knew
what was going on.
Oh, because the language were like, they didn't
speak a lot of English. So when you were
like reading Uncle Tom's whatever
cabin or whatever, like they had no clue. They were reading
the N-word out in the sections. Like they had no clue
anything was wrong. Lenn, their rip in their accent.
You would look at the paragraph because everybody had a
paragraph and you plan it out.
And then Laylee, you're like,
you know, Laylee's got three N words in her paragraph.
She's about to set this room on fire.
And we wouldn't even be paying attention, Uncle Tau,
until boom, Lely let it rip.
Everybody looking at Lely and she got no clue what's going on.
God damn.
But math, they could do it because obviously numbers are numbers.
And a lot of them, I think, moved here a little bit later.
So they had dealt with more sophisticated math.
So when they came here, it was kind of easy for them.
Well, the other thing is, too, I mean, both of my kids have taken Mandarin.
So I've watched them try to learn Mandarin.
Mandarin more so than other numbers really is about memorization, first and foremost, because there's so many characters.
Mandarin is math?
No.
Mandarin's the language.
Just a straight memorization.
Oh.
There's like a billion characters, so you've got to memorize every single one of them.
So I think the idea of subjects that have a lot more emphasis on just memorization, probably if you grew up speaking a lot of,
language where that's the emphasis too. Like maybe you're a little bit more predisposed.
Being Asian is tough. You got to know math and martial arts. And if you don't know either one,
you get shunned, it seems like, it's crazy. And violin. And the violin? Why do violin?
A lot of Asians took violin. He never seen Jackie Chan use a violin. Why did they gravitate to that?
It's a way to get ahead, man. It's seen as elegant. It's seen as sophisticated.
It's like, okay, this college is going to want a violin player. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This
is a way to kind of separate yourself and project.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, no, it's the martial art thing is interesting.
It is, yeah, it is interesting.
Let's pay some bills, Taylor.
I wonder if kids think that Asians could do martial arts
in the same way we did when we were growing up.
No, of course.
That's out the window, I think.
That was a big thing growing up.
Yeah.
I think the more distance you get from Bruce Lee being a prime.
Nah, I don't, I'm old enough to still not trust it.
No, because we believe.
That's right.
Like if you were beefing with an Asian guy and then he hit a fucking...
You know what I'm saying?
You'd be like, oh, shit.
All right.
You got it.
But I used to carry Nunchucks.
I used to carry Chinese throwing stars.
Just to try to get an Asian girl?
No, that's another...
This guy, bro.
That's crazy, though.
Chris was crazy.
Add the little slippers, the karate.
Oh!
Why?
Bro, imagine...
You were trying to scare people in Philly?
To his wife's house.
Every kid in my neighborhood carried stars.
We carried Nunchucks.
Chris.
Where the fucks do you all just get numtucks and Chinese stars?
Asia world.
Do you imagine?
Do you imagine?
That's the name of the store.
How happy his wife's parents were when he walked into the house.
He took off his little ninja slipper.
Put his nun chucks on the table.
Well.
Growing star on the table.
One is Japanese.
One is Chinese.
Which one is which?
Nunchucks are Japanese.
Throwing stars are Chinese.
Is that right?
That's right.
Why the fuck did Philly just randomly have an Asian world?
They sold all sorts.
They must have had this in New York.
You guys didn't have nun trucks and all that shit.
Yeah, we had all.
You could just go buy a pair of num chucks?
Yo, yo, yeah, yeah.
You'll Google that real quick, Taylor game.
No, we had it.
We had it.
There's a butterfly knife.
There's a mall.
You're a butterfly knife.
That's nothing.
There's a mall in Chinatown.
There's a mall.
It's like an indoor mall like.
I know.
And they sell real numchucks?
It's East Broadway.
And like, you would get.
get your PlayStation hack there so that you could play the bootleg games.
You would get fucking nunchucks.
You could get COVID-Colars, the early COVID.
Yeah, they had early COVID there.
Damn.
Yeah.
Y'all I'm going to give me some numbeds.
They had a dog groomer there.
Yo, yo, Sherry Shepherd today?
Yo, that shit was.
Wow, bro.
That shit was.
I was loving them.
the motherfucker just goes for it.
Yeah, what happened?
I got, I'm just, we're just going to insert it.
That shit was wild.
And I don't even know why she did that.
What happened?
Tell me.
Tell me.
I'm obsessed with K dramas.
I watched them until four in the morning.
What that is the key?
A K drama.
You talk about it.
Is that the Asian stuff?
I do.
I love.
That's the Asian stuff?
I'm starting to take re-en lessons.
Yes.
Okay.
So C dramas are our Chinese.
dramas. J dramas are Japanese
dramas, but they all call them K-dramas.
They're Korean drama. For Korean. Okay.
K-for-Korean. Where do dogs?
Exactly.
K-for-Korean.
That was a callback to you,
Shalabay.
That was a terrible segue.
I was a terrible segue.
You got a joke.
You got a child.
You go on somewhere else.
Stay straight.
Sherry, trust me.
Stay straight, Sherry.
Sherry, trust me.
Stay straight.
They're just shaking her head.
Put this on one of the H.I.
Stay straight.
You need a witness.
I'll be right there with my hand on the Bible.
Can't drop me.
Here we go.
Kayed drama.
No.
For no reason.
No.
I don't know either.
But look, look.
I don't understand why that's considered offensive if they eat dogs there.
They don't.
Yes, they do.
Where?
Korea.
Korea.
Yeah, Korea.
Yeah. Some parts of China.
Wait, what you mean?
Yo, I'm not going to lie, yo.
I see you a day.
Let's stop.
I want to stop.
I've seen a video.
You see what he just did?
That was great.
If you eat dogs in some part of your country, your whole country is dogs.
Okay, fair enough.
If we sell pizza in some part of New York, New York sells pizza, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, but.
What?
Why are you?
But now fast forward.
Fast forward.
My daughter's on a bus.
Don't sit next to her.
She eats dogs.
That's on her.
That's on your people, bro.
That's on your people, bro.
Bro.
No.
No, it's not.
That's on your people.
Bro.
Bro.
Come on, man.
Come on, man.
Let me ask you this.
What's worse?
Eating dogs or pigs?
Pigs have the intelligence of a four-year-old child.
You see him justifying it?
Are you listening to this fucking?
This is crazy.
Wait, what's crazy, Charlemagne?
Is he dressed like a dictator?
from China.
This is crazy.
That's crazy.
What's crazy.
Listen.
Why would you show me that?
This is the French.
I have a French.
Oh, yes.
I know.
Somebody, somebody online did a Frenchy anatomy.
It says, why do I always feel the need to squeeze his chicken legs?
Somebody showed me one of this shit in the oven, bro.
I'm trying to find that one.
Oh, here it goes.
God damn it.
Let me see it.
Come on now.
Let me see it.
Come on now.
Rotissary chicken and french leg.
No.
I'm just saying.
I'm just fucking saying, yo.
Chris.
I'm just saying.
Andrew.
Chris.
I'm just,
this is crazy.
Is this not crazy?
No, it's crazy, man.
Are you really saying right here that you think it's worse to eat a pig than it is to eat a dog?
I am saying, and I say this as a dog lover or dog.
Nobody got no pig is no pet, yo.
They do.
They do.
Yeah, but they're weird.
People got salamanders as pets.
There's a Puerto Rican with a fucking boa constrictor in the Bronx right now.
Pigs are highly intelligent.
More intelligent, arguably, than dogs.
What does that have to do with anything?
It's not about intelligent.
But we don't think twice about eating a pig.
I don't eat pork.
Okay.
But most people don't.
If I find out that I've been eating dog all these years, I'm not going to stop because
them motherfuckers is tasted.
If we found out that the rotisserie chicken was actually a Frenchie, I'm fucking Frenchie's up.
I'm telling you that right.
Now, okay?
Right fucking now.
It's not that crazy.
A lot of breathing issue.
If you find out that that teriyaki on a stick is really a dog, yeah.
You're fucking it up, bro.
You're not going to stop.
Yo, this is the thing when Asia's like, even with the lady boys, it's always not what it seems.
No, I'm not.
So they take in the dogs and they make the chicken out of it.
I think they're making the girls out of it.
Nah.
All right, come on.
Let's pay me.
They're going to eat dogs.
Wait, now we're going to pay bills?
Now, now we're going to.
You said you're going to eat dogs.
You're not going to eat dick.
No, I'm not.
Okay.
I think in China, they eat dogs with their chest out, man.
They don't give a fuck.
In China, they do.
Yeah.
You're saying here that they disguise it?
What are you saying?
No, what I'm saying is there's a little disguise.
Where?
I think if you went to mainland China in regions where they eat dog,
they would serve your dog just like they'd serve you any other.
So now you believe they'd eat dogs.
So now you believe they'd.
dog. I know they eat dogs in certain regions.
Okay. So then is it bad that
people think that Chinese people eat dogs?
You wouldn't fuck up a rotisserie frenchie, bro?
Let me ask you a question. If you saw this shit
coming out the oven, golden brown.
Yeah. You wouldn't eat this shit?
No, I would probably.
But I don't want to know it's a Frenchie.
I guess more I'm saying it's like
if you
if you see someone wearing a yarmica,
you can assume that they eat lotcas.
Yes. Is that wrong?
No. So if you had an
played a lotkas on the bus and you saw some yarmakas, you bet, yo, keep them away from the
Well, I think most Asians, they're going to eat it all as a joke.
But everyone's saying this in an American context, is my point.
Yeah.
Whoever made that joke is making it in an American context.
I don't think Asians in America eat dogs.
I know my daughter doesn't eat dogs.
You don't think none?
They might sneak one every now.
Bro, if we find out that we've been eating terriac on a stick all this time and this dog,
you're eating that rot while.
And there's a negative connotation.
towards it in an American context
and I'm like, if you really look
at how people consume animals
you could look at us very negatively.
They got kangaroo tails in the oxford oxtails now.
That's true, man.
Yo, did you see Orlando when they blew that fucking cow up?
They do.
And just, they blew that.
It doesn't make no sense, though. When did you think that
it'll be more expensive?
No.
If we're eating kangaroo versus an ox tail?
No, kangaroo is everywhere.
It's definitely probably hard.
The kangaroos are like squirrels and all.
What are you say?
Caneroos like squirrels, also their tails are way not.
What's not about?
I've been Australia.
You've been to Australia?
No, I don't have to be here.
Why not?
No.
I don't have to go to Australia to see that it's hard to-
It's probably way more kangaroos.
It's not a lot of cows out here, yo.
Also, a cow's tail is so small.
Like, have you seen the size of a kangaroo?
I'm fucking the kangaroo up.
I've eaten kangaroo.
Really?
Yeah.
And I've eaten squirrel.
Yeah.
I fuck a squirrel.
Squirrel?
Like.
Squirrel dumpling?
Five.
Had it in West Virginia.
Yeah.
Bear shoulder.
Fire had it in West Virginia.
Yeah.
Deer has.
Fire had it in West Virginia.
Okay.
I already got it down packed.
There's so many deer's in my fucking yard in Jersey.
You ready to go.
Let some apocalyptic shit happen.
I already got it planned out.
Them bucks is going down, baby.
Yeah.
Benison is a delicious meat.
What?
Kangaroos aren't like,
not endangered, but like you can't kill the kangaroo.
Yeah, you can.
Mm-hmm.
We ain't kangaroo in Australia.
Yeah.
I feel fucked up killing a kangaroo.
They're so nice, man.
They just look like cool-ass animals.
They be trying to fuck you up.
Yeah, because they know y'all be eating them.
Imagine you ate my fucking cousin.
You ate my fucking cousin and you think I'm not going to do shit?
I mean, riding on you.
Chicken and cows don't fight back.
Yes, they do.
We don't get close enough to them.
Dogs and humans have a special relationship.
It is true.
That's why we're protectable.
That is true.
We've protected them for millions of years and they protected us for millions of years.
Very true.
And there's a- Not no Frenchie.
No, we turned them into Frenchies.
They didn't start that way.
Frenchie, you eat them little shit.
Them snacks.
Stop!
Rottweilers, cane, corsoes.
You ain't eating them.
You know what I'm saying?
A little Frencher, you're snacking on that.
Yeah.
Isn't it crazy, though, that we've bred them into that?
Guarantee.
Guarantee you, if there's an apocalypse,
shit gets rough.
Not eating my right.
You're going to put that fucking little P crying.
You're going to put that fucking Frenchie in the oven.
You're going to remember this recipe, this recipe.
Okay?
You're going to remember this rotisserie, Frenchri recipe,
and you're going to put that motherfucking in oven.
Let's pay some bills, man, because Andrew got to go.
Okay.
Let's pay some bills, mate.
All right, let's take a break.

Shote's got a go.
Shote's got a family, a family situation.
Also, too, I'm at the point where I feel like 70 to 90 minutes of a podcast
is the sweet spot.
Yeah.
There's so many podcasts out there.
We know everybody got their favorite podcast in their rotation.
I'm just looking at it as a podcast connoisseur.
I want to get through my podcasts.
Yeah, you don't want to feel like there's anything you left out.
You see what I'm saying?
And, like, sometimes a two, three-hour podcast is a heavy burden of bear.
Every once in a while.
Yeah, well, we're just kicking it.
A special banger is nice.
Yeah.
But I agree with you that like hour, 15, hour 30 is like a good.
Sweet spot.
Oh, it's lovely.
Oh, it's lovely.
Sweet spot.
Like a Frenchie fresh out the oven on me.
Chill out.
What we got, Taylor gang?
What we, you don't even care about that little dog.
I do care about them.
Sell it for parts.
Why would you stop?
People are hungry.
First of all, like I said, PJ and Tad are best friends, man.
PJ loves tags.
What are we doing?
You're a hater.
All right.
Danny L. Jones
III says alien invasion,
oral or anal.
Good question.
Good question.
Give and receiving.
They're asking.
It depends.
Are we aware of what's happening?
Because I've had a colonoscopy
and a endo, what's it called?
Endoscis.
Endoscop.
Endoscott, was it?
Endos.
Endoscopy.
Endoscopy.
Yo, how do you feel that they could just get tested now versus, not tested, get blood taken?
Well, that's for prostate.
That's not for colon cancer.
Colony cancer, you still-
Did you get your prostate?
They do have blood for colon, but it's not as accurate as the colonoscopy.
Yeah, man.
And the colonoscopy is fun.
It's fun.
I got knocked out last night.
Oh.
I was like, thank you.
I love it, man.
I totally see why Michael Jackson was on that shit, yo.
Yeah, the prognoll.
What?
Oh.
And when the doctor tells you, doctor tells you, doctor's like,
be like, oh, you'll be out in three seconds.
You're like, yeah, right.
Bang.
And you wake up.
But it's scary when you wake up.
Not really.
It was like, yeah, I was like, where am I?
You don't, because it happens so fast.
I was like, do it again.
Not the colonoscopy.
That's what I'm talking about.
It knocked me out.
Do you remember the dreams that you have?
Like, yo, I had the colonoscopy first.
No dreams.
And then I had to go back for the endoscopy like a couple months later.
Man, I was looking for it.
When they told me that they had to give me more provolene or whatever,
What is it called?
Propo.
What's the shit called?
Propo ball.
Whatever that shit called.
That shit is fire.
You think you could be addicted to it.
Okay.
Yeah.
Do you have addictive personality?
No.
I can quit shit cold turkey.
Easy.
Easy.
Really?
But I can also recognize when something is good.
And that shit was good.
That shit was good.
Oxy cotton was good.
Motherfucking cocaine in a blunt with weed.
Have you tried perks?
Too much.
I don't think I ever did perks.
You think perks is too much?
They gave me some for the kidney stones.
It was too much for me.
You're from Philly.
You posed to pop perks like...
They actually gave me morphine in the hospital, and that was too.
That's true.
Fire, bro.
Yeah, that's too much.
Hey, fire is that prophylene, bro.
Profylene is good, man.
Prophaline is good.
Or Adderall.
A morphine is phenomenal.
It's just like a furry, warm hug.
Maybe too fuzzy.
But the thing about the provoling, you just gone.
Well, you also did it for something that wasn't painful before.
So, like, when I did the morphine, I had pain.
Oh.
And then I felt like almost immediate fuzzy warmth
throughout my whole body.
And I was like, this is unbelievable.
That is great.
So it was that, it was the juxtaposition of pain to fuzzy warmth.
Make it go away.
Make it go away.
Make it go away too.
Amazing.
Keep this forever.
What was I worried about?
Yes.
Yes.
So all he says, was Kanye's Chicago concert better than Jay-Z's Yankee Stadium shows?
I don't know.
I wasn't at Kanye's concert.
It looked good on the gram.
Your music is powerful, man.
It is.
Music is a powerful thing.
I would assume that Kanye's Chicago-
Kanye said Al Hitler months ago.
You know what I mean?
But everybody hasn't forgiven him, though.
And by the way, everybody doesn't have to forgive him.
Like, the people that came to Kanye show are people that rock with Kanye.
And that's fine.
But that should show us that the rule of ten is real.
Rule of ten.
Three people going to like it.
Three people are not going to like it.
Four people don't even know what the fuck's going to.
Or maybe we look at it as the power of forgiveness.
Maybe we look at it as like when people feel like they've done something wrong and apologize
that people let them move on.
I would have to talk to some of those people.
Maybe that's what it is.
I would have to talk to some of those people because I don't know if that's the case.
Oh, no.
Charlemagne.
It isn't.
Yeah.
I think the people that like Kanye were at that concert.
They want to hear homecoming.
They didn't give us.
The people that were at that concert never gave a fuck.
Nobody gives a fuck.
They didn't say they didn't say they didn't say they didn't say they didn't give a fuck that he said,
you know, slavery was a choice.
They didn't give a fuck about none of that.
And that's fine.
Once again, three people are going to like it.
Three people are not going to like it.
Four people don't even give a fuck about it.
I wish I, yo, they had a headline that says,
Sholomene the God says,
um...
He said slavery was a choice.
No, I didn't say that.
It said Shalomeneh, no.
Oh, yeah, Kanye.
It says, Sholomey to God says Kanye's too old
to be hosting after parties.
First of all, Complex ran the article.
If you read the article, Complex says I was joking.
Why did people take me
serious, I don't know. And all I was simply
saying was, Kanye's what, 48, 49
years old, I'm 48, I don't want
to go to an after party. Amen. The concert
is the party. Amen. Okay?
The concert is the fucking party. Right?
And if there is an after party, let it be
in the stadium. That was the smart thing about
Jay-Z's
parties, his little shindigs.
They weren't parties. They were like lounges.
You go down, you go right downstairs,
you go in a little room, have a
couple of drinks, and everybody goes home.
This is what we did at.
Wasn't even a DJ.
Every,
every, like, arena that we did.
Yes.
The exact thing.
Same thing.
Cool little lounge in the back.
That's it.
I'm not going to where.
What you mean?
The club?
That fuck.
And if we did do something after,
it was super intimate.
It was like 30 of us.
See what I'm saying?
It was just the people
who, like, worked on the show, basically.
And listen, shout out to everybody
of a certain age,
all of the Jayzssies, the Kanye's.
I'm happy that they start in their shows
at a reasonable time.
I mean, minus the night three of,
or night four of the Jay Zs show.
Yeah, but that was,
extraneous circumstances
or whatever?
That's right.
Can I ask one question
about the Kanye concert?
Yes.
Based on the, I saw a couple of clips,
was he performing over a vocal track?
I don't know.
That was kind of my impression.
I don't know.
But I didn't watch enough.
Well, why?
For his other shows, he wasn't.
Yeah, I just didn't think he would do that
in the clip I watched.
I felt like he was, I could have gotten it wrong then.
Listen, the show looked amazing all line.
I just, you know, I'm, yeah,
I guess it depends what you're into.
Kanye, I said this to somebody the other day,
Kanye and 50 Cent were the beginning of a lot of people's rap fandom.
You know what I'm saying?
Like my rap fandom goes back to the 90s, late 80s, 90s because I'm 48 fucking years old.
But if you, how old are you, Alex?
38.
38.
Yeah.
So your rap fandom, you're from New York because it's probably a little different.
Yeah, but it started with Biggie DMX.
Yeah.
Like a 35 year old, it's probably around that.
DMX, Kanye.
I don't even know if DMX would fit in it.
I think more Kanye 50.
Because 50 was 02.
Kanye was 03.
It was 50 was before Kanye.
Yeah.
50 was 02, Kanye was 03.
You're talking about a New Yorker?
Just like...
Just everybody.
Just in general. Just everybody.
I just feel like those two were a lot of people's
beginning of like rap standum.
Like those are people's goats.
Like my goats go back a little bit before that.
But those are a lot of people's first goats.
50 in Kanye, I think.
If you're 30, if you're in your 30s.
Yeah, so it was like, these are like impactful people
in the curation of your, your, like, idea of what rap is.
It's 531, bro.
I know, I got a few months.
Oh.
So I get, I get what you're saying.
I get what you're saying, where it's like, yeah,
when someone introduces you to a thing,
you're always going to have, like, a special place in your heart.
Yes, yes.
People know what they was going through
and they heard get rich a diet trying.
You know what they was going through
when they heard college dropout.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, it was a different phase.
people's lives, you might have been in college,
like you might have, you know,
just started a job you liked fresh out of college.
Who the fuck knows?
But I just feel like those were a lot of people first folks.
But kids today really like Kanye.
I've noticed that.
Like my daughters and all their friends,
they really like Kanye.
He's like one of the top artists still today.
Listen, I say it all the time.
If Kanye hadn't had that little,
not little, but if he hadn't had that big blowup
where he lost everything with Yeezy,
if he would have just stayed on that,
path, there would be no artist bigger culturally because Kanye had music and he had fashion.
Do you know how hard it is to get motherfuckers to wear your sneakers and you don't have a jump shot?
And he had everybody wearing his sneakers of all age demographics, all races, everybody had the
slides, everybody had those crock-like shoes that he was wearing, everybody was wearing the sneakers
because it was comfortable.
He had fashion and music.
There would be no rapper ever culturally as big as Kanye
if he hadn't have blown it all up.
Yeah.
But I think it's really about the music with him.
I mean, because if you look at-
Fashion too, though, Chris.
But no, look at these kids who are 17, 18 now that I know
who love Kanye.
I don't think they really know him for fashion at all.
I think...
No.
I think the easiest was everywhere.
They love his music.
No, no, no, no.
Chris, you forgot how big...
They love.
They love his catalog.
I don't think you're wrong because music is definitely different.
It separates people.
But like, when's the last time Yeezys were hot?
Because he fucking shit on the Jews.
I don't know. I'm just asking.
Oh, no, no.
Hold on.
The argument that I'm about to make, I think, makes sense.
Jordan's relevance.
Now, this sounds blasphemous.
It's not.
Jordan's the goat.
But his relevance has been extended through the sneakers.
Yes.
The kids that wear Jordans now never,
watch Jordan play basketball.
So, like, the idea of him and his greatness is extended through fashion.
So I think what Charlemais' point is, so fashion can put you on this pedestal, and he's
already on a pedestal for music.
It's a super, it's like the two most impactful cultural indicators converging.
So I do, I do understand what you're saying.
And Kanye never fell off musically.
And think about it.
Imagine if he was still making.
clothes and sneakers at that, at the high, high level.
He probably wouldn't be doing music as much.
So the music we did get it, he don't need to.
But the music we did get would be like so great
because he'd be really focused on it.
And everybody in this generation that everybody loves,
Kanye is their goat.
You don't get Drake without Kanye.
The Kendrix, you know, I don't know if you get a Kendrick without a Kanye,
a Cole without a Kanye.
Like Kanye opened up that lane.
for a lot of those type of artists, all of them,
the Wales, the Shans, the Cuddies,
chance to rappers, like.
Was Kanye, like, do you remember Kanye being, like,
wildly popular in New York?
Yes.
Not so much in New York.
I never felt it.
Yeah.
We kind of looked at him as, like,
I don't remember that.
He was nerdy, like.
Nerdy dude rolling with Rockefeller.
That's the thing.
I don't remember that.
I was in New York by 06.
I remember Kanye coming on with you,
Wendham show, and he was the best.
biggest star in the world.
That was 06.
That was probably around the time
the second album.
That first album, he wasn't really...
Maybe it was the second and third, but about the time...
I remember liking the first album.
I remember thinking it was good, but it wasn't like...
I don't know, like, again, there's weird shit happening in New York right now where, like,
like, the idea of New York is bigger than what New York is.
Yeah.
So, like, there's this thing happening where, like, a chopped cheese is supposed to be like this,
like big New York sandwich.
Like, nobody ate chopped cheese.
It's always been like that, though.
Did you eat a chopped cheese?
No.
That was just a Bronx sandwich
in a small area of the Bronx, that's it.
And maybe uptown.
Yeah, maybe uptown.
But like, nobody...
I just heard a bunch of Dominican screaming
when you said,
ain't nobody ain't no chop cheese.
I'm just telling you.
I could hit him yelling.
I can only tell you growing up...
I'm telling you growing up in this city.
I heard people talk about chop cheese.
I thought that was some shit that was in Philadelphia.
I was like...
And people were like, oh, no, everybody in New York
these are chopped cheese.
I'm like,
What about the bacon,
egg and cheese on a roll?
Bacon and cheese is New York.
That's New York.
Bacon,
egg and cheese, salt pepper ketchup.
Like, is,
is, what?
Yep.
Y'all think that's a New York thing?
Bacon,
egg and cheese,
salt pepper ketchup.
That's the,
that's the sandwich that we would eat
that you get at the deli.
So, like,
there's weird,
there's weird, like,
revisionist history,
things happening in New York,
and it almost makes me go like,
like, what the fuck is happening?
Like, because you'll see it online.
And then I've seen some girls online
saying what I'm saying,
going, yo, nobody was having fucking chop cheese in Brooklyn or Manhattan.
Like, this is not something.
Anyway, so I'm wondering if the same thing was with Kanye,
because I did not remember Kanye having a cultural stranglehold on New York.
Did he run New York for a summer?
That's the question.
Yes.
I don't remember it.
Yo, by Kanye's...
I don't remember it.
Third album.
And, like, us listen to some shit in college.
But I also remember us listen to who's the white rapper,
who wrapped about college.
I can't believe I'm forgetting.
M&M?
No.
No.
I know.
Asher Ross.
Asher Roth.
No, Asteroff was never as big as Kanye.
No, no, I'm not saying he was a big,
I'm just saying in college, the popular song.
So I don't remember him having that run in the city.
Again, I could be off.
I mean, is running New York even a thing anymore?
Kanye definitely.
He used to be a three.
First of all, you got to think Kanye as a producer.
Kanye did the blueprint, bro.
Put some fucking respect on the blueprint.
But that's not.
Kanye ain't just, but I'm just saying.
That's Jay.
His name was already starting to buzz.
So he gave us the blueprint.
He gave his shit like, you know, Beanie Siegel, the truth.
He was done.
doing records for dip set like down and out.
And then by the time his album came out,
through the wire was a fucking monster.
That was a big hit.
Right?
What else was on that album?
On college drop out through the wire.
I think Jesus Walks.
Jesus Walks?
All falls down.
Yeah, all falls down.
I've been working the same.
That was all.
Yeah, that was, yeah, Kanye was out of here, bro.
No, no, no, there's no question.
Last Caller might be the best.
That kids love that song.
I'm not saying, again, I'm not saying that the album was a prolific and people love the,
I'm just saying like, there's a, there's a,
just walks on his first album.
There's a different emotion when somebody's running the city, like when 50 was doing it in the city.
Well, he's from here, though.
That's kind of argument.
I'm saying, which is like, J, 50, Nas, we cannot sleep on Nas.
When still mad it came out, it was like, oh, shit.
Yeah, but they're from New York.
I get what you saying.
And New York is like when it's something from here.
I even think that the down south rappers had more of like a cultural impact on New York.
I remember them being really popular in the city.
The first non-New Yorker I ever saw run New York, Snoop Dog, the summer of June just came out.
We were young, but I was like, what the fuck is happening?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But that was an MTV effect, too.
Yes, y'all was watching on MTV, yeah.
And that's what, that's.
On the dirt bike, sitting on the handbook.
No, but to what Solomon's about to say, they weren't running New York.
They were just the biggest artist in the world at the time.
And then MTV and BT kind of like consolidated music across the country.
And they're right there.
Yeah.
before radio would.
So, like, we would have the different pockets
and we would be listening to different shit
than you were listening to down south.
Some of us listening to in L.A.
But once rap really started to take over the MTV,
audience, it started to take over pop culture.
That's a great point.
And that was Kanye.
Kanye was the biggest thing in pop culture.
Like, it was like his first two albums,
and I think it was the third album
that they did the whole Kanye versus 50 Cent thing.
But New Yorkers always, like, rugged hip-hop, man.
And so I think Kanye wasn't, but that's when the world changed because everybody got gay.
Yeah, and we've been gay before most, but for with our hip hop, we liked it.
Again, I could be off.
You tell me if I'm off.
I just don't remember.
Like, he just, he wasn't that big.
Like, he was never as big as 50 in New York.
Yes.
Or Jay or Biggie or like, never a year that Kanye was bigger than 50.
That's not true.
No, New York.
He was bigger.
But he didn't mean this much to us.
I see, I don't know because I keep thinking about the 106.
Park thing when him and 50 came out on stage together.
But that's a national show.
But it was based in New York.
I don't, I don't know.
There was a time where Kanye West was the biggest rapper in hip-hop, period.
And listen, this, you know, I still think 50's more important in New York than Kanye.
Of course.
It's just a, it's from here.
Jay Zee more important in New York than Kanye.
They're from here, yeah.
But again, you could make the argument, and you would be right to say, like, globally,
Kanye is a bigger, massive star,
but in terms of, like, importance to us
and, like, to a certain level of esteem.
I wonder where Kanye couldn't sell a show out of it,
other than Tel Aviv.
What do you mean?
That's it.
I got to go to school.
I got to be a dad.
I got to be a dad.
I'm going to do a couple more.
My guy, man.
Yes, sir.
Bye guys.
You want to sign on?
Yeah.
All right.
All right, man.
As always, if you listen to this podcast,
you think we're smart.
You think we're intelligent.
You think we're brewing.
you're absolutely right but if you listen to this podcast
I think we're just a couple idiots
who don't know shit and you're right too
it's the brilliant idiots podcast
thank you for listening
