Starting point is 00:00:00 Come to you live from the Vostulation Health Corners. It's the bunch of your hopes. Press me. I'm back. Dabitia, babe, bf. Dap, bea, bab, but,
Starting point is 00:00:24 guys, always me. Guys, it has been so long, but at the same time, not that long at all. I took my break in May, and it is now,
Starting point is 00:00:38 this is Halloween, Everybody magazine La La La La La La La You know Okay So much has changed We got new intro We've got new photo shoot
Starting point is 00:00:55 We've got new Sound effect board We've got a new sound effect board Okay So much I feel like it was just time for a revamp All the stuff was old The format was tired old
Starting point is 00:01:18 I was like what do I not like About doing this And so we've changed it up We've switched up a little bit and there's a huge plane flying overhead. Hope y'all don't mind. Hope y'all don't mind about that. So much to talk about.
Starting point is 00:01:30 We've got new intro. I have so much that has happened. Things are happening all of the time. And before we get into that, there is something I really need to touch on, and that is, there is, it's a medical update, and it's a medical update,
Starting point is 00:01:47 and it's nothing to be alarmed about, just something that, you know, I am living with chronically. and that is, for the last week and a half, there has been a booger in the forward frontal lobe of my nasal cavity that I do believe, first of its kind, has crystallized into a kind of bone material. It is now a part of my skeletal makeup, and I am really happy to unveil that here today to the medical community watching, because I know you guys are out there. This booger has become a part of me, and I pick it. Every morning I pick it. And without fail, it takes out a little bit, it takes out a nose hair and a little bit of my brain.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Okay? And I pick it, and then I, of course, inspect it. Did you guys miss me? I inspect it. And there is, there are bone fragments in it. So if anyone could, you know, you know how when you have to do a poop sample, like a stool sample, you like shit in a bucket and then you have to mail it off somewhere or you have to like drop it off at your doctor's office? I'm hoping to do that via mail for my, my, my,
Starting point is 00:02:52 bone booger because it hurts so damn bad and it keeps coming back. So if anyone could help me there, that's just something I need to get out of the way. So much to discuss. There is a lot of media, a lot of occurrences, a lot of happenings, a lot of side quests that I've really been doing. And my voice is hoarse, if you can tell. Because yesterday I did go to Disney and I was off, you know, a five milligram edible. And I rode Tower of Terror and it scared me so bad that I, I screamed my voice to silence. Like, I was fully mute last night. So this is what we've come back with. And I just, you know, want to manage expectations there. So let's go ahead and talk about, let's get into it. Okay. We've got a lot of new segments, a lot of new fun stuff, a lot of new things.
Starting point is 00:03:45 I think you guys are really going to like, really going to like, okay? So, So let's get into it. And before we do that, there's just a thought that I had earlier that I would like to share with everyone, unrelated to absolutely anything. The threat of Quicksand, as we all know it, as a child, never really came to fruition. The threat of the Bermuda Triangle. I've never had to treat as a real issue in my life the way that I thought I was going to have to. But this is a thought that I had the other day that I do have a game plan here.
Starting point is 00:04:21 because when it comes to Bermuda Triangle, and yeah, I'm tucking my jacket under my boobs because it's sweaty. It's sweaty in here, okay? And what they're not saying is that it's been a boob sweat summer. It's been a boob sweat, crack sweat summer. And crack sweat is something that every person on planet Earth is intimately familiar with, but it's just your comfortability of letting people know that you're a crack sweater, okay? And I'm a crack sweater. All every crack, every crevice, I'm sweating there.
Starting point is 00:04:48 So just get that out of the way. Anyway, back to the quickstand. A threat that I, again, probably won't ever come to fruition, but this time I'm ready. I have a battle plan. If I were ever to be encased in gelatin, if I ever were to become encased in gelatin, I know what to do. Because what a lot of people don't know about gelatin, you have to create an air pocket. Okay? Create an air pocket when you're in gelatin.
Starting point is 00:05:17 If I was in gelatin, I would just do this. I would just shove it with like the bottom of my palms, and I would create an air pocket around my mouth, and I would cup it like this, and I would create a little bubble that I could breathe. Because there is air in there. I don't think, I don't believe gelatin is airtight, and we can look that up.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Is gelatin airtight? Gelatin is not inherently airtight on its own, but dry powder gelatin needs to be stored in an airtight container to protect it from moisture and odors. Okay. I'm getting it. So yes, it's not airtight. So if I'm encased in it, okay, and I'm just, I could find the strength, I could, three, two, one, muster the strength to pull my arms through, and depending on how viscous the gelatin is, pull my arms towards my torso, shove forward,
Starting point is 00:06:09 and, you know, the more you move, the more the gelatin kind of, I don't know where it goes, but I could create an airtight pocket, and I could breathe. So just keep that in mind if you're in case in gelatin. Okay, let's go ahead and get into it, guys. And I do have my comfort squish. I do. This is my little girl, okay? This is my crunchy butter squish.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Dude. And there's little, I don't know what the hell bullshit they put in here, but I do want to chew on it. This is like beads. It's beads in slime that they put into the butter, The butter casing, the butter casing, okay? And the butter casing is, this is the most satisfying squishy I've ever owned. And you can tell, because I rubbed that bitch off.
Starting point is 00:06:58 I rubbed all the lettering off. It used to say, buttery with a little, like, markings, gone. Within 20 minutes, I rub that bitch raw. It's gone. The thing about a squish like this is there's always, like, a mystery pub that's attached to the squish. There's a mystery pub that finds its way onto the squish's skin, and it's not mine. It's not, because I would, it's not mine.
Starting point is 00:07:21 And it begs the question, who's is it? And where did it come from? And there's all, I'm, you know what I'm talking about, dude. Guys, raise your hand if you know what I'm talking about. There's always like a hair that's not, it's not for me that's attached to a squish. Maybe it's an eyebrow hair. Maybe it's an eyelash. Maybe it is a pub.
Starting point is 00:07:38 I don't know what you guys are doing in your homes. This, I, every time I'm like, ugh, and I pick it off and I act like I didn't see it. Okay. But this is my butter squitch, my squish. Love it. Because there is a, look, there is a ratio. Br. There is a ratio when it comes to squishies about what needs to go in it and how much
Starting point is 00:07:58 air needs to be in it and how stretchy it needs to be and how thick the squished skin is, okay? And I am going to reference this meme that I sent to about every single person I know when it came across my desk and my desk is my Instagram Explore page. And it said, my cousin, I'm going to misquote it. Actually, I'm going to find it. Okay, I didn't find the exact meme I was looking for, and I'll get to what it says in a minute, but I did find R-slash-dispigable me.
Starting point is 00:08:27 And the top line of this Reddit thread is silly research regarding minion skin texture. There are two questions that have been plaguing our world for centuries. One, what is life? And two, what texture does minion skin have? So I've decided to do this silly little research. And so far, I've gotten all kinds of answers from texture of a balloon. through texture of a slimy yoga ball to texture of a potato dumpling and many more.
Starting point is 00:08:59 And I'm, look, I'm of the camp that says it's thick, like a boar's skin. Okay. And this is the Instagram meme I saw is, it was like my cousin was doing minion research experiments back in the 80s before that shit was legal. And they cut into one of them. And he says he'll never forget it.
Starting point is 00:09:19 It was thick, like a boar's skin. not slimy, dry. And I laughed so fucking hard at that meme. I sent it to every person I know. So operating under this kind of understanding that minion's skin is probably thick like a boars, meaning like a small needle couldn't pierce it. It would have to be what they used to tranquilize guerrillas. Okay?
Starting point is 00:09:44 And I do believe a minion would sit about, what, three foot, four foot tall? It would take a lot to tranquilize it, to try to neutralize one of the of those things? Yeah, good fucking luck, pal. All right, let's see what the people are saying. I think their skin texture is the same as a dolphin. Someone responded, this, probably more like a stingray. Their skin is firm. Guys, it's like a banana peel. Why do you think they like them so much? Someone responded and said precisely, and they are yellow like bananas and light behaves similarly with their skin, how it does with banana peel. Someone else said oxygen is optional to them,
Starting point is 00:10:31 so I guess it is a unique texture. I'm realizing their lips aren't always defined. So are their lips similar thickness and or texture to their main skin? What do you mean you're spending a lot of time looking at the difference in texture between a minion lip and a minion's skin? Someone else just says rubber,
Starting point is 00:11:02 maybe foam. stress ball filled with liquid foam. I feel like they would have a coat of mucus on their skin. No, because they're not shiny. Minions are not shiny. See, they're not shiny at all. Look, this is a youth. This is Bob, the youth.
Starting point is 00:11:18 And he's got that heterochromia. Is that what it's called heterochromia going on? Heterochromia, a rare condition where a person has different colored eyes. I'm a genius. This is a rare one. If you were going to do experiments on minions, pick the youth. He has two different colored eyes, and his skin, is not, it looks like if you were to grab
Starting point is 00:11:36 minion arms like this and squeeze, I don't believe there would be bone. Do minions have skeletons? No, minions do not have traditional bones or a rigid skeletal system. No, minions do not have bones or a rigid skeletal system. Thank you, Google, for that answer. Okay, always imagined it's similar to a beluga whale head, firm but squishy and painless to squish. Yes.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Yes, dude. Yes, I've been saying this. It's like, have you ever seen those videos where people are like, whatever they're doing? They're like kneading biscuits on top of a beluga hail, baluga hail wed. Hello. Baluga whale head.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Baluga whale head. And honey, I would know one or two things about a beluga whale head. I've got one. And there is a sort of whatever the texture of like a fupa is. very similar to a beluga whale head. It's not hurting me when you need biscuits on it, but I don't like it. I don't necessarily like it, okay? It's not painful, but it's uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:12:44 More from a mental standpoint. If someone came up and like jiggled my fupa skin, I'd be like, okay, I'm not in pain, but it hurts in a different way. It hurts in the way of why would you ever do that to me. So think about that. Let's move on. I would like to settle on the fact that maybe boar skin is a bit too rough and mature
Starting point is 00:13:10 for what the majority of the age range of these minions are and again they could be you know immortal who knows I do believe they're immortal I think that it would be something similar to a beluga whale we'll go with beluga whale all right let's get into the stuff that I actually needed to talk about today let's get into the stuff that is necessary to talk about. Okay. Oh, and I've got this, I've got a good one on the soundboard for when we talk
Starting point is 00:13:37 about some scary stuff. My name is Carmen Winstead. Hi, my name is Carmen Winston. Okay, we're going to talk about House of the Dragon. Ah, ha, ha, house of the dragon. Okay. So there's actually so much to talk about because I haven't been able to able to talk about this since 2025, okay? September 2025, I get a call. Hello? Hello? It's Mr. HBO.
Starting point is 00:14:28 Mr. HBO says, would you like to? Not only help host the red carpet for House of the Dragon season three premiere, but we're thinking of this whole idea, ridiculous, of Britney coming to, the set as like an official quote unquote westerosy correspondent and coming to the set interviewing the whole cast and doing like a you know walk around flea bottom with me literally my team tells me this and I go one second and then I filled my diaper because what are you talking about what are you talking about sure let's just go to dragonstone yeah no no no no no no no problem, I'll just go to Dragonstone, I'll sit at the painted table, I'll, like, go ahead and just live the cosplay of my dreams.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Yeah, that's actually no problem at all. That's no problem at all. So we do it. And so I literally, like, it's such an out-of-body experience the whole time because it's like from season, obviously House the Dragon is a prequel to Game of Thrones. So all of these sets and the locations and the iconic things that are throughout the whole show, it's now, in front of me, and I'm there. I'm in Heron Hall. I'm in the Sept. I'm in Kings Landing. I'm in flea bottom. I'm at the fucking, like, painted table. I'm at the godswood tree. Like, there are so many iconic, it's just like
Starting point is 00:16:04 in your head, as a fan, you never if it's done right, okay? If a show like this, a high fantasy political drama is done well, which it is, you don't even think about, oh, that's a set. It's just
Starting point is 00:16:20 like, that's real. To me, that is real. Dragonstone the painted table, obviously that's old and archaic, and that's where shit gets done. That's where shit gets handled. The ancestral seat of House Targaryen? Yeah, of course that's there. Never thought about it being a set. Never thought about it being on a lot somewhere. Okay? So we pull up in September of last year, and I can't talk about it at all. We've all signed NDAs. I can't like, we're there on a super secret Broseky Nation special ops mission, me, Stanley and Elizabeth, and we go. And it's this like a truly unbelievable, unparalleled, like the attention to detail on these sets. And not only, not even to get to the fact, I'll get to it in a second of I interviewed Egonne and Lord Corlis,
Starting point is 00:17:07 hey, the kindest people on planet Earth, we'll get to that in a second. Just walking around the sets, it's like the care and love that goes into this show is like one of the top five reasons that I love it so much. And after everything that's happened this year between like interviewing Matt Smith and doing the carpet and like all of these legacy people that the show just means so much to me. Because it's a summation of everything I love about escapism and entertainment. And obviously Royal Court is deeply, deeply inspired by my love of Game of Thrones and this high fantasy medieval just a place to completely emerge. yourself in, to lose track of time and space and just be there. The only thing that's real is when you're there. What a year it's been for like, not only House of the Dragon fans, but
Starting point is 00:18:00 Brothky Nation House of the Dragon fans. So, all that being said, we're walking around the sets. Obviously, I'm doing bits. I'm wojacking in front of like whatever. I'm hitting the gritty in front of the Heron Hall, like, you know, big table. And then we finally get to interview Steve Toussaint and Tom Glenn Carney in front of the painted table in Dragonstone. And it's just, it's a dream. It's a dream. And it also proved to us as a team, like a crew for Royal Court, that we can take it on the road. Because up to that point, we'd never done anything like that before.
Starting point is 00:18:34 And so, like, watching the show kind of have its own life and, you know, take different forms and have it be moldable is really, really exciting. It was an exciting B-side of all this. So just, holy shit. Thank you, HBO. And thank you, George R. Martin. And what the fuck? Because that was truly like,
Starting point is 00:18:55 it was an unbelievable once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I'll never forget it. I'll never get over it. In fact, because it's been such an insane, like, monumental, life-changing year, I'm going to probably get Dark Sister tattooed. Dark Sister is Damon Targary and Sword. Hello, hello.
Starting point is 00:19:15 I'm probably going to get a tattooed. tattooed. And yeah, I would like to talk about the fact that in one of these videos, when I'm on set, the HBO team was like, let's, could we do a little social clip where, and I just hit a crazy sorry, whatever the hell's in my throat, sorry. And that felt good. That felt good. So we're walking through Dragonstone and they're like, could you do a video basically re-contextualizing us, geopolitically speaking, of where we're at at the start of season three. So, like, you know, the Hightowers and Old Town and Tumbleton or, like, everyone's converging on Tumpleton and the Targaryens or whatever, and like, Amon's at Heron Hall and whatever.
Starting point is 00:20:02 I was like, totally. They hand me a sword. And I was like, okay, great. And so I use it to start pointing, and I don't look at it close enough. And I go, in the video, hey guys, what's up? I'm here with Dark Sister in Dragonstone, da-da-da, and I start pointing at stuff at the table. All the comments? You fucking idiot.
Starting point is 00:20:22 You, who let this buffoon on the set? That is Blackfire. That's clearly Blackfire. Well, and obviously looking at it now, you're correct. But in the moment, they had handed me a sword, and I said, oh, thank you for Dark Sister. And I just went. I just kind of ran with it. Okay, so I'm now humiliated.
Starting point is 00:20:44 Who let this fucking, fucking, I'm liking the comments. Who let this? boob on set, this complete bonehead onset, to tell everyone about what's happening with your area for that fucking dark sister and not black fire. I said, I'm sorry. So I'd like to apologize. So, and also on the season two carpet, I said something, I asked someone a question about Vagar, and I had, in my, you know, negligent ignorance, misgendered Vigar.
Starting point is 00:21:15 I had called Vigar A man. I said, Vagar, he, we all know he is the biggest dragon. Here come the commenters. You fucking idiot! Vagar's a woman. Vigar's the oldest, biggest dragon alive, other than Vermethor, the second largest dragon alive. I said, oh, my God. You're right.
Starting point is 00:21:38 Because guess what? I'm kind of in that camp as well. I border on the fringe of like super, I've got one foot in the super nerd. Like I know way more than the average Game of Thrones fan, but I'm not that level. I'm not the top tier level where I'm commenting on stuff, who let this idiot on set? That is Vagar.
Starting point is 00:21:57 She is a woman. Right? And so a part of me is like, that's hilarious and you're right. And then the other part of me is like, oh my God. It's a very, you know, delicate, it's a delicate frame of mind. Anyway, I'm laughing.
Starting point is 00:22:14 I'm laughing. I'm laughing. So, yeah, House the Dragon, just all of it. The Gasmith is so lovely. He's so British in the best way. And I just like, what a, what a great guy. What a fun time. I love just, you guys know I love a witty man.
Starting point is 00:22:31 So witty, so fun. Need to have about 15 to 20 Guinnesses with him sometime. So that was great. Then, okay, Night of the Seven Kingdoms, we don't even need to talk about it because it comes back next year, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, I'm sad. Yeah, I'm at! Peter Claffey, do you want to come on Royal Court?
Starting point is 00:22:51 Peter Claffey, do you want to have 30 guineas? Let me know. Just let me know. My Instagram DMs are, you know, they're public. And you guys certainly utilize that. And I want you to know any message you send me, probably about 65% of the time, I see it. I see it.
Starting point is 00:23:08 I don't respond, but I see it. And they make me giggle. And, yeah, just know that. So, 9-7 Kingdom's very excited. Let's move on. Let's talk about Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Okay, five-star. Immediate five-star on Letterbox. The Odyssey?
Starting point is 00:23:30 What a ride. I saw it twice. What a ride. I wish we saw a little bit more of the Sirens. Okay? That's my one critique. I would have liked to see a mermaid. I would have like to really see a close-up of a mermaid.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Matt Damon, that's my Odysseus. that is my Bostonian Jason-born Odysseus. What a fantastic movie, very well cast. I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Sound design, unparalleled, incredible. And then Matt Damon and Hathaway on Royal Court, sure. Hey, sure. I'm just like, okay.
Starting point is 00:24:05 How many things happened this summer where I'm like, reflect? I was typing everything up and trying to reflect on what the hell have I been doing. And it's just, like, it's unbelievable. doesn't even cover it. It is, I never thought. I never thought. And there is a part of me that's like, in a world post Harry Stiles on Royal Court, what's there to look forward to? What's there to, okay, I don't care about anything because what I wanted to happen happened. Matt Damon and Hathaway on Royal Court, I care about. I actually, well, of course I care about it all, but it's like, it keeps getting better and I didn't know it could. So every, every day is a journey. Every day,
Starting point is 00:24:44 I open two gifts and they're my fucking eyes. God bless. And, Thank you. So, just, wow. Like, two of the loveliest, loveliest people I've ever had the pleasure of interviewing. Deeply funny, deeply professional, like consummate professionals. And, yeah, what an incredible movie and press run and just a win for the film community. Truly, truly a win. Big Fat Dub.
Starting point is 00:25:12 In the vein of Nolan, I kind of went back and watched a few, both Nolan and Robert Eggers. watched a lot of their filmography. Well, I watched all of Eggers. But Nolan, I went back and watched The Prestige. Okay, Hugh Jackman, Christopher, Christopher Bale, Christian, Christian Bale. Chris for Robin, Chris Jenner. I watched The Prestige. What a movie.
Starting point is 00:25:37 And you know, Nolan loves to fuck with time like that. Like, nothing's ever linear. Everything's like, here's a flashback, and then here's this and here's whatever. It makes for an interesting, I'm definitely like paying attention the whole time. the reveal at the end. Holy shit. What a movie! What a movie!
Starting point is 00:25:55 Really enjoyed that. What's next on the list? Oh my God, I watched Citizen Kane. I've never seen it. And I feel like Citizen Kane is one of those movies, not to bring the minions up again. Brat. But...
Starting point is 00:26:07 Brat, bra. Huh? But the minions really have permeated, you know, my understanding of pop culture. And it's one of those things, too, where... When something becomes immortalized through different, through like satirical media, like The Simpsons, SpongeBob, you know, even like Rick and Morty minions, it just proves its kind of immortality within this space that that piece of media has affected everything
Starting point is 00:26:40 so deeply that it will always be remembered because it's now been memed. And two things that come to mind as an example of that is no three things. Fratu, like Spongob Nose Fratu, whatever. And then Citizen Kane. I never understood all those references of like the black and white and like Xanadu and whatever.
Starting point is 00:27:00 And now I do. And it's hilarious. So Citizen Kane, I watched it on a plane. And I'd always heard, you know, like Orson Wells, this and that and whatever. And he's just one of those figures of the golden age of Hollywood where I was like, I probably should know who that is, but I don't. I watched it.
Starting point is 00:27:16 I loved it. I loved that movie. So, I mean, wow. And then it kind of started me on this, this, uh, journey back through a bunch of those movies where I added a bunch to my watch list that I'm going to get through. But Citizen Kane, wow, really, really, really good. And obviously, uh, you don't need me to say that because it's, it's like one of the
Starting point is 00:27:39 greatest films ever made probably. And bruh. Brough. He was 26. Orson Wills wrote, directed, and starred in this fuck-ass movie. he was 26? Wow, what have you done today? What have you done today?
Starting point is 00:27:52 I've been thinking about rebranding as a millennial buzzfeed employee. And the next time you see me, I'm going to have like an infinity scarf and I'm going to have like a mug that says, you have the same number of hours in a day as Beyonce, honey. Like that shit, really, really massive for the culture of white women. You know, like white women really, that was peak for white ladies and women. corporate America. You have the same number of day. I slay, fierce, like all that whole era, wow, wow, wow. Wow. So, yeah, I've been thinking about that a lot recently is, I mean, I'm 29, I turn 29. And I've definitely, I've definitely done some, some stuff I'm very proud
Starting point is 00:28:40 of, but it is moments like that where, oh, you were 26, oh, okay, right, got it. On the other end of that, let's go ahead and move into the next thing. Practical magic. Got a lot to say about this. Thank you, Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock, for coming on Royal Court.
Starting point is 00:32:09 What the fuck? What? What are you talking about, Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock on Royal Court? We come to this place for magic. Yeah, we do. Practical magic, too. I can't believe that happened. And so I watched Practical Magic for the first time a few months ago, actually.
Starting point is 00:32:32 And then when this came about, like, oh, you know, they're doing press for the second one. I was like, huh? Oh. Oh, I didn't know this was an option. I didn't know you could have Sandra Bullock on your show. I didn't know that that actually be something that would happen maybe and did. And did. Unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:32:51 So in that vein, obviously, like I'm doing all this research on the ladies. And then we're having some other guests on soon that have put me down this rabbit hole, not even a rabbit hole, but down the line of thinking of like aging, right? Like, what is it to be an aging woman in Hollywood? and not even old, not even older, just we're all aging. And it's this constant, you know, the internet makes fun of people with lion face and this and whatever. And the 21-year-old's getting Botox and the videos of the middle school girls going to Sephora and using retinoids and like all this shit. It's like there is something obviously deeply wrong.
Starting point is 00:33:31 There is a sickness. There is a plague of a fear of aging that I've talked about before on this podcast. But I now, I've almost been radicalized to all of this over the last year because it's no longer a fear or even a fascination. It is now an excitement. And I mean that in the most genuine way. Like, I texted Drew the other day and I was like, just thought about going through menopause together and started crying because I can't wait to have, like, not for menopause. But I cannot wait to experience every phase, every chapter of womanhood with my girls. Like, what a privilege to my community, to grow old together and be able to commiserate and laugh and reflect.
Starting point is 00:34:25 And like, why would I ever deny myself that privilege, you know? And there's so much to say around that. And while I do believe in taking care of yourself and, like, wearing something. sunscreen and staying hydrated and all those things, almost not as a preventative, but to age the process. So many thoughts on, I've completely released this opinion or idea that I need to stop the aging process. You know, oh, when I'm 50, I'll just get a facelift.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Oh, when I'm this, when I'm whatever. I just, I have no interest in it anymore. Like, I'm excited to get older and I'm excited to have all the wisdom and the experience that comes with that accompanies it, you know? Like, I'm just, I'm over it. Because a woman's youth, when you really, not to be the woker, but when you zoom out and it's like, what is the fascination with youth? Oh, it's kind of rooted in like pedophilia. A little bit. A little bit. I don't want to cling on to my youth for that. I want to be with someone who is okay dating a 30 year old. And I hope that they're 32. You know what I mean? It's, it's, I've completely flipped.
Starting point is 00:35:35 to the other side where not only am I excited about aging, I'm embracing it. So that's kind of something that, you know, just these ladies in Hollywood that have been brave enough to put themselves in the public eye and therefore have everything conceivable about themselves picked apart by the general public. Like, whoa, whoa, you know. So that's just the thoughts I've been having recently. I watched Crazy Rich Asians Top 10 rom-coms ever
Starting point is 00:36:09 And yes, I'd never seen it No, I'd never seen it Everyone's like, oh, that's my favorite plane Comfort movie That's my comfort movie on a plane Okay, I'd never seen it Crazy Rich Asians loved it Love, five stars
Starting point is 00:36:24 Completely, completely loved it What a good ending And it was so wonderfully cast And I just really, I cried I really, really loved it. So I've just never seen it. I'm trying to work my way through movies I've never seen. So when I'm on a plane and it's like, you know,
Starting point is 00:36:42 I go through all the stuff they have on there because usually they have bangers. Where was I flying the other day? I was on some flight the other day and they had Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes on demand. What? This was for me. And you guys did that for me and I really appreciate that
Starting point is 00:36:59 because I don't really know who else is at this moment in time. yearning for the 2009 Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes the way that I am. I watched that movie probably seven times a year, not an exaggeration. I have a tattoo. The game is afoot. I love him. And I love him as Sherlock Holmes. I love Jude Law as John. I love, like, come on. So watching that, I said, oh, they did this for me and I really appreciate that. And if you haven't seen it, just go see it. Come watch it. It's fun. It's fun. I love R.D.J. I love RD. so much. Okay. Next, backrooms and obsession. Holy shit. What a win for internet people.
Starting point is 00:37:45 2026 year of the internet creative. Oh my God. And that really was, I feel like a talking point over the summer of look what beautiful art that's relevant and successful and chart topping and record breaking can be made if you give the means of production to the youth. You know, like this old Hollywood system is crumbling. It is crumbling. Late night, crumbling before our eyes. Like, what was that stat that was like only 25 projects got greenlit for 2025 or some
Starting point is 00:38:18 bullshit like that? Like, wow, we're now realizing you don't need that. Like, just things are changing. And culture is so, it's very exciting to watch it change this quickly and to realize, obviously, Gen Z controls what is. popular, what is, and not only Gen Z, but active internet fan bases control what is popular online. It is so democratic now, and it's just so wonderful. It is wonderful to watch this revolution happen, and I can't wait for more of it.
Starting point is 00:38:52 So, yeah, love, obviously loved obsession, laughed my fucking ass off, the part when he calls the helpline, and he's like, I need to reverse it, he calls the number, and he answers. So, hilarious! I'm laughing. Like, what a way to cut the tension in the room. And I saw it with Stanley. We went and saw it in a theater. And it was so, I literally had a moment where I, like, sat up in my chair and looked around at a part when everyone was laughing.
Starting point is 00:39:18 And I said, oh, this is what it's all about. Oh. Yeah, this is what it's all about. Cinema is so fucking bad. So, loved that. I rewatched Beauty and the Beast. I love Beauty and the Beast. Because guess what?
Starting point is 00:39:32 What have I talked about before? It's the original, one of the original enemies to lovers. in like the most visceral way. And it stands the test of time. It stands the test of time. And when he transforms back into a human, and when he transforms back into a human, suddenly I'm not horny anymore.
Starting point is 00:39:51 Oh, he's a human? Could you go back to being a beast? I don't. It's something about, you know, it's the same in Barbie and the Nutcracker. I like you better as a nutcracker. I don't need to be a man. You don't need to, that meme that was like,
Starting point is 00:40:06 the wrench from Bob the builder would Or was it Manny Manny would Right, the wrench from Bob the builder Rusty Handy Manny Yes, Handy Manny When people were like My Hear Meouts
Starting point is 00:40:28 And they did fucking Rusty from Andy A wrench with eyebrows would Would He would take care of you He would provide He's a blue collar provider Okay Beast from Beauty and the Beast
Starting point is 00:40:45 would. Nutcracker from Barbie the Knackracker, would. And if you don't get it, I don't have to explain it. I'm not explaining it, okay? Because that's something that is like, that's community. Like, that's found family. If you're looking at Rusty from Handy Manning, and you're like, yeah. Okay. You can't explain family. Okay. Here we go, here we go. Ready? I have now seen, like I mentioned before, every single Robert Eggers film, other than that short he did for, he did Hansel and Gretel, which is like a silent black and white film. Obviously, I need to lock into that. And it's like, I found it on YouTube. I'm just going to watch it. I've seen every Eggers film. It is, uh, the lighthouse with Robert Pattinson, Willem Defoe. What a ride. What a movie, dude. I've, I've never seen it. I've never seen it. Like, so many, oh my God, there's one scene with the seagull, if y'all have seen it. When he's outside with the seagull on the rock. Oh my God. Like, there's, there was one scene. Like, there's one scene. Like, there was one scene. Like, there. It's one. Like, there There were so many moments in that movie where I just, I turned to Stanley and I was like, he was like, I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:41:50 So, Lighthouse, I watched The Witch. I watched that, I think, last year. Anya Taylor Joy's breakout role? Incredible. The Witch was spooky boots. It was spook. Hi, my name is Carmen Winston. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:04 Like, I did not know that that was going to be all that, okay? They liked the taste of butter. I didn't know. Then I watched The Northman, Alexander Scarsguard. Oh my God. So violent. In a good way, right? It was just so...
Starting point is 00:42:21 And there's this scene at the end that's very... It's over Anakin! I've got the high ground! It was very giving that. But wow, one of the most violent visceral films I've seen in a long time. Enjoyed it. Probably wasn't my favorite, but I think it gave it like four stars.
Starting point is 00:42:38 And then, of course, knows Faratu. And I say all this because Robert Eggers' Werewolf comes out, it comes out in December. And I'm just like, I'm a bit worried about how annoying I'm going to be when it comes out. And on, by the way, whatever that was, when you get so excited, you start grunting. It's pooped. There is a noesferatu fragrance that Heretic Parfam did. And y'all know I'm a huge fan of Heretic. They did a Nospheratu fragrance that's like, it's, it is so unique and it's got that Petricor note, if any of y'all like that. It's very like rainy soil, coffin, a bit of metal, but it's
Starting point is 00:43:26 still wearable. Like, they are so good at doing these niche scents. And I really, really hope they do one for Werewolf, because lots to play with their, like, and I don't love an animalic scent. So if they do one, I hope it's not animalic. But I'm excited for the sensory experience of a werewolf collab with Heretic. Please do it. Please do it, bro. Begging. Okay, we need to talk about some other things that have happened just now that I'm back with y'all.
Starting point is 00:43:58 Okay, first and foremost, La Rosalia. Bitch! What? How about this? I wake up. I wake up one morning. I roll over. I grab my phone.
Starting point is 00:44:15 Text from someone on Rosalia's team who got my number through a mutual friend and said, Hi, Rosie's doing a show in San Diego, and she would like you to be the guest that comes out during the confessional. Basically, you tell a story about a man that wronged you or a time that it's for La Puebla, which is about like a player, like any time that maybe you've been the player, you've been played, whatever. And I was like, oh, my fucking God. Obviously screamed, screamed, cried. Like, shit in my hand, started clapping. I was so like, okay, right, right, right, right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:44:52 And obviously, I knew who I was going to tell the story about. And obviously, you guys probably know who I was going to tell the story about. And so it happens. And I had so much fun to putting together my outfit. I was like, I want to dress like a saint. I want to do the, like, Catholic veil and everything. And so I did my own makeup. I did these little, like, crystal teardrops for, um, meokri.
Starting point is 00:45:10 I just gave myself chills. I love that song! I love Rosalia! And so I came and I did it. She's so nice. She's so nice. I genuinely can't believe it. And she like shouted me out in a way that I, to this day, I'm like, hey, I can't
Starting point is 00:45:39 leave that happen. Sometimes it'll randomly pop into my head as I'm doing the dishes or like getting gas or something. I'm like, Rosalia said that like she really appreciates me being a lifelong fan. Because I obviously have Motamami tattooed. Like, that album means so much to me. Rosalia means so much to me. I think she is a true artist, capital A.
Starting point is 00:45:58 And, like, what she managed to do with Lux. And I talked about this with Harry of, like, an artist that they have no choice almost. Like, golden handcuffs, they have to make this piece of art. That's what Lux felt like with Rosalia. Like, that is from the deep bowels of her soul. and it is something so honest, so authentic, and so well done, well executed, her taste level, but people are going to be studying it. It is the new standard.
Starting point is 00:46:30 Like, I just have so many compliments to shower her with. And I mean every single one, very genuinely. And so her bringing me out on stage and saying, like, she has been such a fan for so long. And, like, I, you know, especially in a market like America where for, I feel like the long, this time it's been Bad Bunny, who's been the reigning, you know, Latin artist that has kind of captivated this country's attention and fascination. And Rosalia is Spanish, of course, and that whole controversy of like winning a Latin Grammy because the Grammys don't have a category for, you know, it's just whatever. Like, her artistry, I'm honored to be even in that
Starting point is 00:47:15 conversation of like, if I helped introduce people to Rosalia, wow, my privilege to do that, truly. So, yeah, she just thanked me, and it was so unbelievable. And then we did the little confessional, and I told my little story about when I had been somebody's sugar mama, and it was fucking awful, and then we broke up. And yeah, and then I went back into the crowd and finished the the concert. It was unreal. It was unreal. Like truly a highlight of my life. I can't believe it. So what's next? Oh, let's do a quick little book club because I finished. I actually only finished two books over the summer because, okay, woman in white, so much to say about women and white. So much to say about woman and white. Woman in white is my new.
Starting point is 00:48:07 it is, does it rival the secret history? Maybe. I think it might rival the secret history. It might take the cake. I think I have three favorite books. And one of them has been my favorite since high school, so I might need to reread it and that might change. But knowing me, high school was very formative for my interest in who I am as a person,
Starting point is 00:48:29 so it probably hasn't changed. That book is Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. That book changed something in me. It rewired my brain. It made me give a shit about art history and religious iconography and religious history and, you know, religious, the inner workings of a religion and the corruption within a religion and just all the things around art history. And albeit it is a historical fiction, still a lot of truth in that book. And a lot of, it was the first time that it ever made me think about science, the intersection of science and religion as like a 15-year-old. It really, really changed me as a person.
Starting point is 00:49:05 especially growing up in a church and then leaving the church. Like it was just very formative for me. So I wonder if I were to read it back, would I feel the same? I probably would. Angel deemons, The Secret History, Donna Tart, that's my favorite book ever of all time. And Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, dude, dude, it might be the third. It might be my favorite book. Because what this book manages to accomplish, there are so many stories within stories
Starting point is 00:49:35 and Wilkie Collins did this kind of epistolary narrative function again of its different firsthand accounts. It's almost an accumulation in like a legal fashion of legal evidence to be used in a trial, like affidavits almost. Of course, told in a more beautiful way that's easy to follow. But it is like a main narrator and then it hands off to another narrator and then it's all these different little individual accounts. because what I thought this book was going to be was a kind of ghost story. Because, you know, I'm on my Victorian kick. And this is, of course, a Victorian novel. I think it was published in the 1860s.
Starting point is 00:50:16 But my God, it stands the test of time. It is so good. And the reason I love the Bronte sisters and just Victorian literature in general is because the art of painting with the English language and the canvas is a novel, I really feel, and maybe I'm not reading a novel. enough contemporary fiction because that's not really my vibe. But just no one does it. Like those bitches from the 19th century. My God! It is just, I read sentences and I'm like, how were you able to construct this? I end up underlining them because they're just so beautiful and it's
Starting point is 00:50:56 such a wonderful, exciting way to communicate what she's trying to communicate or, you know, whatever author it is. So that being said, woman in white is no exception. It is Wilkie Collins's grasp of the English language is just so admirable and like enviable. And woman in white is, it begins as a kind of mystery novel. There's this main character, Walter Hartwright, who is an art instructor. He's an art teacher. And he gets this job invite, job offer from a rural country home where the uncle of the house, it's an uncle and his two nieces, he's looking for a new art master for them to teach them watercolors and sketching and whatever. Well, Walter gets the job invite and he's like, you know what? Fuck it. Okay, fine, I'll do it. So he's on his way out there.
Starting point is 00:51:48 This is the very beginning of the book. And he's on this street late at night and he's walking, walking, and he feels a hand on his shoulder. And he turns around. And it's, it turns around. And it It is a woman, as you can imagine, all in white, very ghostly. And at first you're like, oh, this is an apparition, it's a ghost. You know, this is going to be the central theme of this story is, you know, why is this woman haunting him, whatever? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Could not be more wrong.
Starting point is 00:52:18 What ensues is the most insane. It's not a murder mystery, but it's a mystery woven in with like attempted fraud. and deception and like marrying for money, almost killing for money, and a case of like outwitting each other, which I love a story like that. It's why I love Sherlock Holmes. It's why I love Pirates of the Caribbean, any of these movies where it's a game of wits. It's a battle of the wits. And what is that phenomenon called when it's like you have no other option and suddenly
Starting point is 00:52:59 something is pulled out of thin air. Okay, there's a few terms of what I'm thinking of here. At the end of the Pirates of the Caribbean, the first one, it is a, is it called a Deus Ex Machina? Is that how you say it, or is it, I think it's Deus X Machina, a sudden, unexpected concept, character, or event that abruptly solves an otherwise hopeless, dead-in situation. That happens at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean when, you know, Barbosa shoots Captain Jack and you think that he's dying, but really he's one of the zombie pirates too because he stole a coin or he drank one of the, whatever.
Starting point is 00:53:38 And so he doesn't die, right? And it's like, whoa, when did he do that? Because you don't see him doing it on screen. That kind of thing, why did I bring this up? Why did I bring this up? Anyway, woman in white, it's a huge journey, okay? This is a beast of a book. It is 700 pages.
Starting point is 00:54:00 I was fully engaged for every single page. But it is a lot of information. It's a lot of characters. It's a lot of accounts. It's a lot of timelines. And if you enjoy that kind of almost Agatha Christie, you know, Arthur Conan Doyle storytelling of like, and this happened here. But if you'll remember, the resolution at the end of this book is very rare for novels of this kind.
Starting point is 00:54:27 meaning that it resolves positively. And I'm not going to give any more details other than that because I really, really recommend you read it if you're into those kind of books. This is truly a five-star read for me, truly like favorite book ever. I cannot wait to reread it in a few years and see if it measures up.
Starting point is 00:54:44 But wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, loved woman in white. Now, immediately after women in white, I was like, I need to go back to Romantasy. Okay, I need a Romantasy palette cleanser. I opened anathema. and I saw a glossary of terms a la clockwork orange. I saw a map. I saw a family timeline and I went, hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:55:08 Just too long. Like, I need to make it a little less long. You know what I mean? I do think that anathema, I will get to it, okay? Because I bought Anathema and Fantasma. Very excited to read both of those. When I'm back on my romantic shit, but I'm not. I'm not back on my romanticity shit yet.
Starting point is 00:55:38 I thought I was. I thought that's what I wanted and it's not what I wanted. So instead, I opened this, it's a very short read. It's called Blind Owl. Now, Blind Owl is a 1930s published Iranian surrealist novel. And y'all remember my fascination with madness, specifically female madness, but boy madness will do as well. And this details, this little novella details a man that is clearly experiencing some kind of, not psychosis, but like one foot in the real world, one foot out. He's got an opioid addiction.
Starting point is 00:56:21 I don't know if alcohol was involved, but it explores this inner world of misery and longing and just unhingedness. Something is not right. And I have never read a book like this. I have never read a book. It is the ravings of a half-suicidal, half-murderous, homicidal maniac that is just deeply unhappy and disturbed. And he's very important. I believe his name is Sadeq Hadayat. I just butcher that.
Starting point is 00:56:58 I'm so sorry. But he is a very famous Iranian author that I do believe ended up killing himself. but his works are very important to the Iranian discography of national literature. So first of its kind I've ever read, what a ride, very short. I read it in one sitting. And yeah, just wow. Because I love anything, which is why I picked it up, that deals with this, you know, you're a little bit not there.
Starting point is 00:57:29 You're a little bit here and a little bit not. and I enjoyed it. I can't say that it was a fun or delightful read, but it was very interesting, very intriguing. And I finished the book and I was like, what the hell? What the hell? So now I'm reading, I'm back on my Bronte shit.
Starting point is 00:57:52 Hey, back a while. I'm back on my Anne Bronte shit. I'm reading the Tenant of Wildfell Hall. really loving it so far, really, really loving it so far. Those Bronte sisters, they just know how to damn do it, don't they? They know how to do the damn thing. And the tenant of Wildfell Hall is a story within a story. And it's about courting. You know, it's about a mysterious woman moves into the neighborhood and one of the men in the neighborhood really develops a fascination with her. And she will not reveal her backstory.
Starting point is 00:58:33 She will not reveal why she is a widow with a single child living in this old, decrepit abandoned house. The landlord of the house will not give any details on his new tenant. And it becomes this, rumors start to swirl. And at the same time, the main character starts to kind of fall in love with her. But it's this state of limerance of like, do I love her or do I love that I can't figure her out? You know, and I want to be the one to figure her out.
Starting point is 00:58:58 I need to make her trust me so I can figure it out. Now we're in the middle of it where we're learning about her backstory. And bitch, it's tea. It's tea. Very Regency era. I mean, they're talking about like for the season and the mamas and whatever. And I'm like, man, I'm glad I watched Bridgeton so I know what the hell's going on here. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:18 And after I finished tenant of Waldeau Hall, I'm going to finish my Bronte trifecta by finally reading Jane Eyre. Jane Eyre is a fucking beast of a book as well. I mean, it's like 800, 900 pages. How many pages is Jane Eyre? And the only thing I remember about Jane Eyre is there's a, she's in the attic. Okay, she's in the attic and then there's like an unhappy marriage. That's all I can remember.
Starting point is 00:59:40 How many pages in Jane Eyre? Oh, 532. But sometimes it goes up to 624. Awesome. It's just a beast of a book. So I might start that or I might go to Anathema. I don't know. But I was thinking about the feeling that.
Starting point is 00:59:58 I got from Night in the Moth. If you all remember, I talked about that book a long time ago. It's like a gothic, dark romanticie. Loved that book. And I cannot wait for the second one. When does the second one come out? Night in the nave? The nave and the moon. September 1st. It's out. Oh my God. Oh my God. It's out. I have to buy it. All right. I'm going to skip January. And I'm going to go straight for a knave in the moon. I can't wait. Okay.
Starting point is 01:00:32 But yeah, that's my reading update for right now. And we'll see. We'll see what's going on there. Okay. And we're an hour in. And sometimes you're an hour in and time just flies, guys. So much to update you want. This is probably going to be an hour and 20 minutes long.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Okay. Some things I'm into. This is a very, very important part of the podcast. Okay. I'm very excited to show these things to you, share these things with you. whimsy, okay? I'm always talking about whimsy, whimsy, whimsy, whimsy, whimsical things that I'm into that if you would like to implement them in your life, please feel free, because these things have brought me such joy that I really am excited. I've, like, been waiting to tell you about them. So, number one, I'm trying to use more
Starting point is 01:01:16 cursive in my daily life. I get a lot of videos on my explorer page on Instagram of just wonderful old ladies writing in cursive, just keeping it alive. I think that in this, age of, it's two things happening at once. One, the kids can't fucking read and the kids can't write and the kids don't have a proper grasp on English. Then at the other end of the spectrum, there is a group of Gen Z, potentially Gen Alpha, that are going back to analog phones, analog cameras, taking notes physically. Like all of these things, we're just over it. In the digital age, we crave physical media, okay? The criterion closet being like a thing that people are like addicted to obsessed with. All of these relics are kind of coming back and it's exciting and it's fun
Starting point is 01:02:08 and they're collectible and you know, whatever. You can share them with your friends, borrow them, whatever. I think that for me, cursive is an easy thing to implement in your daily life when you like write something on a sticky note or when you take a note or when you're writing your to-do list, grocery list, write it in cursive. Why not? You know, and if it looks like shit, then practice. It's just something I really have been loving, and it's just a fun, whimsical way to be a bit more fancy in your daily life. And it's a dying art. It is a dying art form. Who is keeping that shit alive? We have to keep it alive. Another thing, in my house, I keep jazz playing. Okay, I alternate between KUSC FM, which is the California Classical Station on IHeart Radio, and then just jazz.
Starting point is 01:02:57 Just YouTube has a bunch of jazz playlists. I love it. It makes me feel very, sometimes modern music, if I'm not in the mood, can really over-stimulate me. Even if it's songs that I like, I'm just like I'm not in the mood. I need to, my house needs to be a place that I can come to and re-center and relax and, you know, don't like turn those lights off. I don't want the big light on. I want little yellow lights everywhere, okay?
Starting point is 01:03:24 Squishies. I'm on that squishy shit hard. And sorry for the misophonia people. I don't care. If you have misophonia, you need to get over it and buy squishy. That's just, that's my opinion. That's my opinion. Bruh.
Starting point is 01:03:38 So next is candle warmers. Candle warmers and the pumpkin, or sorry. Candle warmers and specific candles I've been into are pumpkin candles. punk and spice. You know that girl. Pump and spice. That's my shit. Is that what she says?
Starting point is 01:03:58 She's, I don't like pumpkin spice. And then she got us recently because she made a video or she was like, I do like pumpkin spice. But it's because she got a cat named Pumpkin Spice. You got my ass girl. You got my ass queen. Next, a fig candle.
Starting point is 01:04:12 Been really into fig for both this like summer and to fall transition. Okay? It's very, very clean, but also warm. And anything with the fig note, I'm there. I'm there. I love a fig. Next, in the vein of lighting and candle warmers, shower lighting.
Starting point is 01:04:31 Okay, guys, I got a sunset lamp. Just one of those dinky bullshit ones. I just, I got one. I put it in my bathroom, shine it against the wall. And then in my shower, I have one of those rechargeable lamps. I just, I put it in there. It is so luxurious. I'm all about like trying to calm my nervous system these days
Starting point is 01:04:53 because holy shit, there's always something. It's always something. It's always something. I can't. When I come back to my house, I want to punk and spice. You know what I mean? So I've got shower lighting. I really would recommend that.

My latest craft! Next up! I'm going to put a video up here for a detail shot. I have been so into, you could call them bag charms, but they're really just, I guess, keychains. I make these gorgeous keychains that really came from this idea of shrinky dinks.
Starting point is 01:08:35 I follow Gazoo Studio on YouTube. She's one of my favorite YouTubers. She makes crafts. And she does little shrinky dink charms. And she does so pretty. She's like a for real artist. And she'll draw. and then they'll shrink up and she'll turn them into key chains.
Starting point is 01:08:50 And they are so damn cute. She'll make it about anything like desserts or back to school stuff or like an apple or like city themed, which is my next thing. Whenever I like traveled into a city, I'm going to swap my little bag charms for the one that I've made. Because they make, you know, New York ones and like L.A. I could do a little palm tree and whatever. It's so cute.
Starting point is 01:09:09 It's really been giving me joy. So yeah, I make these. This is a little Halloween one. It's all silver. It's got spiders and a little, um, Crystal Spider on his web. This is a little gold tulip one. The color scheme of it all, very, very, very much satisfying to me.
Starting point is 01:09:29 Very satisfying. This is a blue one. I'm trying to experiment more with color. And you can do two little ones. You can do, there's ones like it's a little charm, and you can put a charm in it. Come on. And they're all on Pinterest. I just save them on Pinterest.
Starting point is 01:09:42 I started making them as phone charms. This is a little pumpkin spice. And this is my Twilight Zone phone case. But I started making phone charms, and then I realized these could be bag charms, and then they could also be keychains. But here's the thing. If you're going to do it, I'm not a maximalist when it comes to phone or bag charms. On my bag, just the one.
Starting point is 01:10:04 Okay, just the one. I don't have the big plushies and the whatever or whatever, except if I'm at Disney, then I'm going to have a bag charm that's a plushy. Because you have to have moderation, okay? But yeah, this is a really fun hobby of I do, it's just with pliers. You just open the little jump rings with pliers, do whatever, build it. I would really recommend doing it on a towel so that the beads don't roll everywhere. And now I have little like containers to hold of my beads.
Starting point is 01:10:30 It is so much damn fun. I've also been into felting. I'll put a picture of my felting crafts up here. It's just, it gets me off my phone. It gets me doing something with my hands. And I've been putting up history videos on YouTube while I do it. It is just, it's fantastic. I have the time of my life.
Starting point is 01:10:48 And since May, actually, when I had my huge burnout, crash out, like, oh, maybe I don't want to do this job anymore. And I mean that, like, I've been trying to find little things to bring me back to me. And these are the ones. And they're so much fun. And I, about a month ago, had another little crash out. And it's just crafting. I'm like, I, if I'm away from the. things that are me and bring me to me for too long, I really start to feel it and I really start
Starting point is 01:11:21 to be not well. So that sucks. But these things really, really help. So I love it. I love crafting. I really, you don't have to be good at it. Just start and get a cheap craft. Shrinky dinks are like $3. Go do it and color it and cook it in the oven and make a keychain. It really is that simple. Other things I'm into. I had a huge phase of. the summer with Sierra Farrell. Sierra Farrell is 100% going to be my number one artist on Spotify this year. Like, I love her in a way that's weird. And what kick-started it actually is we saw Mumford and Sons in concert in March.
Starting point is 01:11:58 And she opened for them. Fantastic opener, by the way. Fantastic choice for an opener. And I had listened to a few of her songs before, and I loved it. They would be on my playlist for, you know, that kind of like Tyler Childers, culture wall style of folk. country, but, oh my God, dude, see her for her. I just, I know every song she's ever made by heart. I love her to death. Love her. That was a huge phase for me. Uh, power wash videos. Dude,
Starting point is 01:12:27 power wash videos. Power wash YouTube shorts. Get into that. Get into that. Okay, those are, that's my like, what you've missed. Now, a new segment. Okay. This is what I'm calling. Housekeeping, but a new change, a major change is about to happen, okay? So I'm going to do Song of the Week, what I'm watching, what I'm looking forward to, and then some style things I've been loving. So Song of the Week is Summers Over by Jordana and TV Girl. I'm back on my white people shit. I'm doing TV Girl.
Starting point is 01:13:08 I'm doing Empire of the Sun. I'm doing Cage the Elephant. I'm doing foster the people. Foster the people. Fostering the people. All of that. Peach Pit, whatever. Oh, my God, it's just so...
Starting point is 01:13:21 I put it on, it makes me happy. It's good driving music. So that song, what I'm watching, dude, I've never seen girls. Brah. Huh? I've never seen girls. And Girls is incredibly millennial. And I...
Starting point is 01:13:37 But it's also so vulgar, and I don't even mean that as like, oh, I'm a prude. It's just, I'm seeing some version of Bush, Balls, and Dick. Every episode. I have seen more Dick and Bush in my life watching this show than ever before. And I, you know, yep, uh-huh, that's part of it. And a lot of sex. It's really sex forward, which is fine. It's fine. I'm not approved. It's just, hey, watch it alone. You need to, hey, go ahead and watch this alone. Don't download a whole season like me on your iPad and watch it on a plane because people will look at you funny. They will look at you funny,
Starting point is 01:14:13 and you will have to turn your brightness down. So, yeah, girls, I'm on season six. The thing about this show is everyone is extremely unlikable. I hate every fucking character, every single one, but other times I'm laughing. I'm laughing my fucking ass off. There are parts that are so, it's very well written. And I really commend it for that.
Starting point is 01:14:40 it is very of its time. I will say that. It's very BuzzFeed, Final Boss, mustache, you know, epic win thing. It's very millennial. But in other ways, it's timeless. So I don't know. And I don't know about Lena Dunham. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:14:57 I didn't read FAMSick. I don't know any of the shit. I know that some people fucking hate her. I know she's controversial. I don't know why. But girls, I feel like always comes up in this conversation of comedy shows. You know, you need to. see. I'm never seen it, so I'm watching it. Next, I'm doing a rested development. Never seen it.
Starting point is 01:15:15 And I know I would fucking love it because Will Arna, Bateman, like, come on. That's just, that's my, that's my shit, punk is spice. So that is next on my watch list. Yeah. What I'm looking forward to, We'rewolf by Robert Eggers. We know this. Moving on. Style things I'm loving. Okay, had a major revelation over the summer. Hey, if you have fat arms, raise your hand. Okay. If you I just move on I move on If you have fat arms Raise your hand
Starting point is 01:15:47 Okay The merch is going to be No seriously If you have fat arms Raise your hand Raise both of your hands Smell your pits Okay thank you
Starting point is 01:15:57 Fat arm people Who cares Who cares Do you know how long I've been dog walked By the fact that I have fat arms How many outfits I believe fat arms have ruined
Starting point is 01:16:11 How many things I put back on the shelf, how many, like, times I've talked down to myself. I this summer was like, it's hot. I have fat arms. And, hey, most people know that. Okay? I know that. Looking at me, yeah, those are going to be fat arms. I have come to the very genius realization that it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 01:16:33 So it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. And I just wanted to share that because if you have fat arms and a fat belly and fat anything, it doesn't matter. And I feel like I just never really heard that before. So this summer, I wore a tube top for the first time of my life, and no one died. Everything was fine. I was not pointed and laughed at. I did not, you know, get called bingo wings. None of that kind of happened. So I would recommend wearing a tube top. If you've got a tube top and you've been kind of waiting to wear it, just wear it. Because you've only got about, give her touch.
Starting point is 01:17:11 take 60 years left on this planet, maybe, if you're lucky. If you're lucky, you have about 60 years left, maybe less, maybe more. So just wear a tube top because it does not matter. Just something that I kind of, you know, was thinking about. Also, new, I'm a tabby girl now. I used to be like those fucking dumbass shoes. Now, I follow that girl who does the freaky shoes on TikTok. I love her.
Starting point is 01:17:36 I don't remember her name. But she's like, where my freaky shoe girl's at? And I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. She has some weird-ass shoes. Some of them are a bit too weird for me. Some of them I'm like, oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. So I just, I got some tabbies. And then I also just ordered, like, apparently Nike makes some tabbies.
Starting point is 01:17:54 And they're like good for their walking shoes. So I'm going to get those. And I got them in a really pretty, pretty light blue color. So I'm excited to kind of bust those out, bust them in, bust in them. Very excited. Okay. This is my announcement. we are now utilizing the Patreon.
Starting point is 01:18:20 We're now utilizing the Patreon. This is Patreon only. So many of y'all will write in the comments or DM me or whatever, comment on TikToks. Brittany, if you like this, please look into this. It's a da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. I think you'd really like it. If you liked this, you might like this. Brittany, can you Google da-da-da?
Starting point is 01:18:40 Like, go down a rabbit hole, whatever. This is the time. I already have something up on Patreon right now that's basically inviting. If you as the followers, Broski Nation, if you have something that you would like me to look up or research or get into, leave your suggestions there. And it might be featured in an upcoming episode, either next week or, you know, six months from now. It's going to be an evergreen list that we're always going to keep referencing. So like anything, any questions you've got for me and not like, should I pick up with my boyfriend? the answer is always going to be yes.
Starting point is 01:19:14 If you're having a, should I pick on that boyfriend? Yeah, you should. But it should be questions like deep philosophical questions. I really want to, I want to be inspired. That's kind of the gist of it. If I'm being completely totally honest, you guys have such great ideas. And you're all very interesting people with unique points of view. And I want to hear from you.
Starting point is 01:19:37 And I want to know how we can do a melding of the minds because that's intriguing to me. and just some of the bullshit I talk about on here, I feel like it hits home for a lot of people, and if you have adjacent recommendations, I would love to hear. So, yeah, that's on the Patreon. Go over if you're not a part already. The episodes are ad-free on there as well.
Starting point is 01:19:57 Go join our Patreon and then let me know. Go ahead and let me know. Again, you don't have to. That's just if you want to be featured on here, potentially one day, go ahead and do that. Okay, we're getting real mythical in here. We're getting real mythical morning in here. So that's exciting.
Starting point is 01:20:10 other than that, guys, you know the normal run-a-show. We've got Royal Court. If you are not familiar or subscribed, go ahead and check it out. We've had some unbelievable guests this past summer from May until now. Truly, like, things are happening. Things are always happening, okay? Emmys are now a real, you know, what if Internet shows are now going to be on the Emmys? That's a real thing that could probably happen in the next two years.
Starting point is 01:20:40 It's very exciting. So, yeah, Royal Court, we've got merch. The Broskeye Report merch is still up. We've got Moos and potentially a new drop. I've been talking about doing this book club merch for a very long time. The day has come. The day has come. Keep your eyes peeled.
Starting point is 01:21:01 Okay, okay, okay, okay. It's going to be launching incredibly soon. I'll keep you guys updated. And I'll be posting about it on Instagram. And, of course, when it launches, I'll announce it on here. officially, but it's very cool. It's very dark academia, very, very my vibe. I'm loving it, loving it. So that's kind of what I've got for you this week. I am so excited to be back. Thank you for rocking with me in my absence. I needed to do those side quests. I really, really did,
Starting point is 01:21:30 and I needed some time off because this job is so navel-gazing and it is actually deeply weird to talk about yourself and what you like and who you are and you and you and you and you all the time. Who gives a fuck? And I'm so blessed that I have a community of people who actually deeply, deeply do give a fuck and really find community with me. But sometimes in my own head, I'm like, you self-important asshole. You know what I mean? It's a psychological experiment for the ability to do this job. And I just quickly realized I was having, I had no input in my life. I was just giving, giving, giving, giving output, output, be funny, be funny, dance, monkey, dance, and I, my legs didn't work anymore. I couldn't dance.
Starting point is 01:22:09 So now I'm back to dance. So I'm very happy to be back. And let's do it. Let's friggin do it. I'll see you guys next week. Thank you for being patient. And pray for me and my bone bugger. I really, really appreciate it, y'all.
Starting point is 01:22:27 Thank you so much. Okay, bye-bye.
