Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello guys, welcome back to another episode of the Bryce Crawford podcast. I'm Bryce, and today I have my second guest ever. Let's go. Aaron Sudezky. He's a good friend of ours. I met him. He came and spent the night at our apartment before we got to move. And I've just been really blessed by Aaron, even for a while. Aaron's been leading worship with a ministry called Braveheart and through a church called Upper Room. And it's really blessed me and ministered to my heart ever since I became a Christian. So this is super cool. Yeah. We were going to talk about worship today, but then Aaron came in this morning and started
Starting point is 00:00:36 talk about the fear of the Lord, and I started levitating in our living room. So now we're going to talk about the fear of the Lord. I'm super excited. Aaron, I actually want you to read that scripture, and I just want you to go in. So I was getting a hit when you were reading. Yeah, I was just reading this morning in Proverbs 16, because it's the 16th. and my brother in Christ Peter Lewis he told me that there's 31 days in most months and there's 31 proverbs so I read that proverb today today is 16 um so verse 6 of proverb 16 said through love
Starting point is 00:01:22 and faithfulness, sin is atoned for. Through the fear of the Lord, evil is avoided. Through love and faithfulness, sin is covered. It's dealt with. It is finished. It's atoned for. No more sacrifice. It's covered.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Amen. But through the fear of the Lord, you can avoid it. Come on. Completely. You can avoid sin. that's so legit i feel like people look at the fear of the lord and they feel like uh the fear of the lord is like they have to be like terrified from god like they think like fear of the lord is like where they're scared like they don't want to be around him but that fear of the lord is like a reverence
Starting point is 00:02:08 and respect of his deity and for his character right because when you when you respect god and you have that fear of him um then you you like actually weigh his word and like listen to what he says and when he says sin is evil sin is not good for you then you don't want to do sin because you have that respect and fear of the lord you know yeah and when like the key is part one through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for and how do we we know that sin was atoned for so as we're setting up i was just thinking and picturing the body of jesus if if this is saying that love and faithfulness atoned sin covered sin then i can see the body of christ mutilated hanging on the cross
Starting point is 00:03:18 and know this is the atonement wow this is the atonement for sin whoa this is actually what the father this is how the father feels about sin out of love for us he showed us how he feels about sin
Starting point is 00:03:41 on his own son whoa through love love and faithfulness to his chosen people, he showed us how he feels about sin with the body of his son. And now because of, I observe that when I consider him who endured such hostility at the hands of sinners, Christ. When I consider Christ, I look at Christ on the cross, then buried, and now resurrected, the fear of the Lord hits me. And I'm like, that's how you feel about sin.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Dang. Father, Lord, that is how you feel about sin? Oh, then the fear of the Lord comes over me and I avoid. Oh, my Jesus was mutilated. My Jesus was marred beyond human likeness. Right. And that puts... And it was out of...
Starting point is 00:04:50 love and faithfulness and there's this fear of the Lord that is accompanied with it wow this fear of the Lord that this is what you think you hate sin so much you hate what sin was doing to us so much that you allowed it to destroy your son your only son wow and i think that puts i think the fear of the Lord is a healthy where it's viewing the Lord rightly very healthy it's appropriate yeah it's an appropriate view of the Lord and this is
Starting point is 00:05:39 wait this is not about me this is about him this is about that man that hung there and is now living that's real today literally I I feel like I mean we see pride in the garden
Starting point is 00:05:56 is the reason for the fall. And when I'm so full of myself, I can't have the fear of the Lord because I don't see him rightly, like you're saying. Like that new perspective of sin causes mutilation to the body. And Jesus loved us so much
Starting point is 00:06:13 that he allowed mutilation to destroy his body so that we could be made whole and pure through him. And there's a scripture in Psalm 25. Psalm 2514 where David says the friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him and it had me thinking about like almost like hyper grace where there's people that believe hyper grace is this thing where people say well God's forgiven me so I can just sin as much as I want to
Starting point is 00:06:46 you know like I can just go sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, it's cool because God's forgiven me. But to a friend and a brother, I would never purposefully betray them on purpose. Wow. Like I would never go behind someone's back on purpose and stab them in the back because I feel like it. And a lot of people sin willingly because they say, oh, well, God's forgiven me, so I'm just going to go do whatever.
Starting point is 00:07:08 I'll just, you know, think about it later. But the friendship of the Lord, if Jesus is my friend, then I respect what he says about sin and what he says about my life. And what his word says in John 15 is already you've been made clean by the word I've spoken to you. And if I really believe what he says, then I won't go behind his back and partake in that fruit. Wow.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Yeah, and it's honoring what he said. It's having that, it's the fear of the Lord. And in Proverbs 22, verse 4, it says, humility is the fear of the fear of. the Lord. Its wages are riches and honor and life. And I feel like, so there are some secrets in the Bible. And the secrets of the Lord are for those who fear here. So some of you all can have to discover these secrets on your own. Friends share secrets.
Starting point is 00:08:21 You know, you know, like, this is what blows my mind is, is we have the secret place right that's where if i want if i want to understand the secrets and the in the glory of the lord i'll go visit my closet and it's like that's just me and him jesus is talking to bryce in my closet in my room and in my private secret place and we're just sharing but if aaron wants to know the secrets of the lord he can just go in his closet and erin can experience the can hear and listen to the same secrets that i heard and my it's not like god is picking and choosing favorites here it's just like Like if you really want to know the Lord and his glory and understand who he is on a deeper level, you can just meet with him. It's like maybe, you know, maybe today Aaron and Bryce go in our closet and the Lord teaches me a different secret than he teaches Aaron.
Starting point is 00:09:12 But at the end of the day, if we continue to meet with him, we're all going to understand the same thing because we're meeting with him continually because that's friendship of the Lord. And I think how the secrets of the Lord are for those who fear him. I think maybe you could even go as far to say if you do not value the secrets in the secret place that's an indicator that you don't have a fear of the Lord. Whoa. That you're not in your heart fearing the Lord.
Starting point is 00:09:44 And the beautiful thing is this is not about you. This is not about you. This is not about you. This is not about me. This is about knowing him. knowing the Father Jesus came to reveal the Father
Starting point is 00:10:04 I'm about to get here sin is covered so that we can know the Father the deceitfulness of sin was keeping us from knowing the Father so love and faithfulness came
Starting point is 00:10:21 covered sin so we could know Father and our fear of the Lord keeps us Knowing Father, a holy fear of the Lord, knowing Father, this is not about us. It's about learning who the undefinable one is. Whoa. It's a joy to sit in secret. And when you fear the Lord, you crave the secret place.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Come on. You crave the secret. He is the secret. He is the secret. There's new mercies every day. Markford. Did you go? Oh, no, I did not go Markford.
Starting point is 00:10:57 I went to 1 Corinthians 13. He says in 13 verse 3, if I give away all I have and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Do you want to meet with the Lord because you have to or because you want to? Because when I find myself personally trying to force something in the natural that hasn't been curated in private, then I start to perform, strive.
Starting point is 00:11:38 And I actually find that everything I'm saying because it's coming from a place of striving and not a place of intimacy, like I feel like so many people perform out of gifting and not intimacy nowadays. And when I find myself not operating out of intimacy because I didn't spend time with the Lord before I did anything,
Starting point is 00:11:59 I actually find out that everything I said didn't make sense. like actually like actually like I will I'll like reflect on just times in my life or even if you know if I know there's days where we recorded a podcast or made a video I'll like listen to it or watch it and I'll say something I'll be like that made absolutely no sense I'm like I realized because I wasn't in union with the father like my spirit like the psalmist says in 63 I long for your presence Lord but I'm in a dry and thirsty land. It's like it doesn't matter how close.
Starting point is 00:12:37 If I heard the audible voice of the Lord the night before, when I wake up 6 a.m. 7 a.m., I'm in a dry and thirsty land. And I got to plow some ground and kill my flesh to get back in there. So what would you say, I guess as a final encouragement, what would you say to people watching or listening to say, man, I feel like I don't have fear of the Lord? I would say, consider Jesus and see that your flesh is killed.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Consider Jesus and see that you're free. See how the Father feels about sin and then look to Jesus' resurrected life and see how he feels about you. Shoot, bro. See how he feels about you and just consider this. And if we just take the last minute and pray, I would love to pray. Yeah, I would love to pray. Father, I thank you. the people listening,
Starting point is 00:13:38 I ask that you would give us the fear of the Lord. Father, would you give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation through the knowledge of Jesus to know you more, Father? Help us to consider the cross of Christ that atone our sin through love and through faithfulness, God. And I ask that you would give us the fear of the Lord that is humility, the fear of the Lord is clean, the fear of the Lord, the fear of the Lord is perfect.
Starting point is 00:14:08 I ask that you would give us the fear of the Lord that we may avoid evil. I thank you, Father, for your son, Jesus, and I thank you for His blood, and I thank you that you gave us the Holy Spirit to live inside of us. We bless you, and we honor you, Holy Father. In Jesus' name, amen.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Amen. Dang, I got hit with something when you reminded us in Proverbs. 16 when it says the fear of the Lord you avoid sin because of the fear of the Lord you avoid sin it's not that your eyes are on sin trying to dodge sin like oncoming traffic you know your eyes are looking up at the Lord and sins down here but it's not even in your eyesight so you're just naturally it's just naturally rolling off because you're just so in love with him and you weigh his words and you love him not because you have to but because you want to because
Starting point is 00:15:02 He's Lord, and if you love him, you'll obey his commandments because he's a good father and he knows what's best for your life. Bro, I was getting hit, dude. Guys, this is a really short podcast. I feel like there's so much going on. I'm going to have to listen to this one like four times, but, guys, I just want to encourage Aaron real quick. Aaron, you're one of the purest people I've ever met my life, and I'm really grateful and thankful for the way that you carry yourself. You know, just the way you walk. You don't have to speak.
Starting point is 00:15:31 it just is a testament to the Lord's character and what he's done in your life. So thank you for coming on. We'll have to record a longer episode when we have more time, but a part too for sure. Yeah, I'd love it. But, yeah, guys, I'm going to link in the description of this YouTube video. A one hour long upper room set that Aaron has led. And back when I was in my identity crisis and I was meeting with the Lord in the secret place for the first time consistently.
Starting point is 00:16:01 I would listen to this set every morning, in the shower, everything. And you can just, when you listen to this set, everyone in the set is just, you know they know the Lord. And it's like you have, it's like in Job, in the latter chapters of Job, he says, for my ears have heard,
Starting point is 00:16:25 but now my eyes have seen and like tasted that you're good. And you have seen the Lord. You've tasted that he's good. And I want you guys after this episode to go meet with the Lord for this hour, the same length as the worship set in the description. Just go turn it on, put your phone as far away as possible, and open the Bible. That's good advice.
Starting point is 00:16:50 And just go read John. Go read the gospel of John and read that the word became flesh and dwelt among us and that Jesus doesn't just tell us how to live, but he shows us how to live. but he shows us how to live. It's powerful. Aaron, thank you so much for coming on, bro. I love you, man.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Thank you guys for watching. If you guys enjoyed the episode, follow us on YouTube and Instagram and Spotify. Guys, we love you guys. Thank you guys for watching. We'll see you guys next time.
