Now, let's get into this video.
I, man, I got rocked last night by Jesus because I was just thinking about how oftentimes we, we thought.
that Jesus isn't speaking to us, but in reality, it's not that he isn't speaking to us.
It's that we don't want him to.
Whether it's because our Bible is shut, or whether it's because we purposefully don't want to
spend time with him, or we're prioritizing other things over him, or we don't want the
presence.
I mean, in Psalm 63, King David says, I long to be in your presence, but I'm in a dry and
thirsty land. King David is saying, every morning I wake up, I have to plow the dry ground to get to
your presence, Jesus. Every morning, I have to ask God to search my heart, and I have to plow that ground,
and we do it if we want to or not. And I'm just like, man, why, like, I want to talk about how precious
Jesus is, because why wouldn't we want to spend time with him? Why wouldn't we want to seek him out? Why wouldn't we?
and oh man i was just getting so rocked if we don't worship jesus then we worship the devil because anything
that's other than him is of the world people that don't worship jesus worship the devil whether they
blatantly worship satan whether they worship their phone whether they worshiped netflix when they get sad
anything like that you worship the devil if you don't worship jesus and i want to just show us in john chapter one
how personal Jesus is to us.
And then I'll just point in stuff in John, but he's just so personal.
When you look at John 1-1, it says,
in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.
Okay, now the word, the literal word word in this passage is a capital W.
Okay, anytime, this is just typical language arts etiquette.
If a word is capitalized, that isn't a name, it is in reference to someone.
Okay, so when the word is capitalized with a capital W, it's referencing Jesus here.
In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God, is what it's saying, but the phrases,
in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.
And then it says, he was in the beginning with God.
So this, John 1-1 blatantly describes Jesus's deity.
Because the issue isn't, did Jesus exist?
The issue is, is Jesus God.
And it says, in the beginning was the word Jesus.
So in the beginning of time, Jesus already existed.
And the word Jesus was with God,
distincting the persons of the Godhead, right?
You have God the Father, God, the Son, and God the Holy Spirit,
saying that God, the Son, Jesus Christ, was in.
in the beginning. And the word was God. Jesus was God. Jesus is God. So Jesus is both fully man and
fully God, which is powerful because we don't worship anyone other than God, right? I don't worship
human beings. I worship Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was a human, but he's also God. That's why we
worship Jesus. Then says he was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. And without
him was not anything made that was made. That is such a powerful verse.
When John says all things were made through him and without him was not anything made that was made,
is meaning that every human being to ever exist was made in the image of God.
All things were made through him, but without him was not anything that was made.
Every human being that you interact with is made in the image of God.
Did you know that every human being knows that God exists and God is eternal and that God,
is worthy of worship. It says in Romans 1 that every human being is without excuse because God's
divine nature is displayed throughout all of creation. It says in Romans 1 verse 18 through 23 that God's
divine righteousness and nature is displayed throughout all of creation so that humanity is without
excuse. And people will say, well, what about the person that never blatantly heard about Jesus or
blatantly heard the gospel? Well, when Romans 1 says that all of humankind is without excuse,
it is explaining that every human being in their heart knows that God exists and that he is real.
But our sinful nature buries the evidence and knowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord in our hearts.
So when our heart of stone turns into a heart of flesh because of the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ
surrendering ourselves to the truth of the gospel, that sinful nature is ripped off our heart
and the flesh of our heart now truly understands and bears fully through.
our character as human beings that Jesus Christ is Lord.
But the knowledge of who Jesus is is buried because of our sinful nature.
And so when we interact with people, we're able to pull out the goodness through their heart
because every human being is made in the image of God.
All things were made through him.
And without him was not anything made that was made.
In him was life.
And the life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness and the darkness.
are overcome it. Do you know how people can tell there's something different about you when you have
Jesus in you? It's because you have life. Without Jesus, you don't have life. But with Jesus,
he gives you a new life. And everywhere you go, the light of Jesus is inside of you, which means
your life becomes the light. So that no matter how dark the area, how dark the workplace,
how dark your school is, how dark your neighborhood is, you have the light of
Jesus in you, you become the beacon of light because the hope is inside of you so that when
people ask for the hope inside of you, you're able to give them a taste of life that they've
never experienced before, which is Jesus. It's so powerful. And then this is so cool because later
on in that passage, it says that they talk about John the Baptist and that he was the witness for
Jesus. John, the Baptist basically paves the way for Jesus in the New Testament. He's like
proclaiming. He's like preparing the way. That's John the Baptist job, preparing the way. And
And then it says in verse 8, he was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.
When you have the Holy Spirit inside of you, people might mistake you for hope.
People might look to you as their hope, but you have to say, I'm not the hope.
I just have the hope.
That's what John the Baptist did.
People mistook John the Baptist as the Messiah, but John the Baptist said, I'm not he that you're looking for.
I'm not even worthy of wearing his sandals.
John the Baptist said, I'm not even worthy of wearing the sandals that Jesus wears or taking the sandals.
I'm not worthy to wash his feet.
John the Baptist said, I'm not the light.
I'm just preparing the way of the light.
I know the light.
I'm here to bear witness about it.
And so when you have Jesus inside of you, you say, I'm not the hope.
I'm not the light you're searching for.
I have it.
Let me show you.
That's the purpose of Jesus.
That's why he's so precious.
Jesus is so precious because he just doesn't reserve himself to specific people.
he's accessible to anybody.
And then when you realize that Jesus is accessible to you,
as much as you want to be accessible to him,
as much as you want Jesus in your life,
you can have as much of him as you want.
Now, Jesus wants all of you,
and you can experience the fullness of him if you want to,
but when you experience the fullness of Jesus,
you realize anybody else can have him.
That's like, that's how precious he is.
He doesn't reserve himself for specific people.
When Jesus Christ died on the cross,
it said that the veil was torn.
In the Old Testament,
the veil to the temple meant that only specific people could go into the presence of God.
And you had to do very specific things to get into the presence.
But the second Jesus Christ breathed its last breath, the veil to the temple was torn.
And that symbolized that anybody and everybody can have access to the presence of God because of Jesus Christ.
That's powerful.
That's how precious he is.
He makes himself available to you.
I use this analogy in our most recent YouTube video on the main channel.
if you search up Bryce Crawford, we post evangelism videos there.
I think of this analogy.
Jesus Christ is at a coffee shop every morning.
And he's at a table for two, taking up one seat, meaning there's only one other seat at the table.
And Jesus Christ has a name card with your name on it.
And people walk in the coffee shop and they go, oh my gosh, Jesus.
And they walk up to Jesus and say, hey, I'd love to sit down and talk with you.
Jesus says, hey, I'd love to another time right now.
I'm just waiting on my friend here.
I got him reserved to start time.
I just want to spend time with my friend.
And he's thinking about you.
So every morning I have to think Jesus Christ is at a table
and he's got Bryce's name on a name tag
and he says, people come up to him.
Jesus, I want to hang out with you.
He's like, no, I'm just waiting on Bryce.
I'm trying to spend some time with Bryce right now.
That's the same with you.
That's how precious he is.
God being omniscient and omnipresent
means that God solely gives you attention.
God is all knowing, yet he wants to
know how your morning went. God is all knowing, yet he wants to know how your friendship is going
with that person. God is all knowing, yet he just wants to know how your heart is. He wants you to be
honest and share your heart with. God is omnipresent, yet he wants to spend time with you one on one.
It's like, it's so cool how precious he is. And then the word in John 1, verse 14,
and the word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we have seen his glory, glory as
glory is of the only son from the father full of grace and truth.
You know why it's also interesting that the gospel of John references Jesus has the word?
It's because Jesus isn't someone that just tells us how to live.
He came on earth, took form of a servant, showed us how to live it,
so that when we turn to him, we look to his life as an example of how,
how we do things, how we live, how we serve, how we love him,
because he's full of grace and truth.
Jesus is truth.
So when we're in a world full of confusion and everyone, everyone's truth, you know, let your truth be truth,
let you know everyone's got their own truth, that's not true.
Jesus is the truth and we can turn to him for truth, but we can also turn to Jesus for grace.
If we fall, if we sin, know that we have an advocate to the Father whose name is Jesus Christ,
as first John says.
Like we have an advocate who is Jesus.
Jesus Christ, the word became flesh and lived among us.
Jesus Christ took the form of a servant by taking on flesh and lived a perfect life in a sinful
world to show us how to live. And when we keep our eyes on him, our life becomes the light.
And we live as to who God called us to be. And then I just want to point two more things out here,
or three more things out, sorry. And John, John chapter one later on when Jesus called us to be.
is Philip and Nathaniel to be his disciples. Jesus says the words, follow me. When Jesus says the words
follow me, it's personal. And that's what Jesus asks you and every human being. Follow me.
The gift of eternal life is on the table. Follow me. Jesus gives all believers the opportunity
to follow him. So the phrase follow me is personal. It's active. It's real.
It's genuine.
Hey, Bryce, follow me.
When I surrendered my life to Jesus and Jesus encountered me in Waffle House, he was saying,
Bryce, you've tried to follow everything else and it hasn't worked.
You tried to follow your sin patterns.
You've tried to follow your addictions.
You've had this hole in your heart and it hasn't worked.
So Bryce, follow me.
That's how Jesus greeted me.
And so when Jesus encounters you and you're presented with the gospel through someone or the
spirit of God interacts with you, he is saying,
follow me as a personal interaction with him.
The second thing I want to point out is Jesus's interaction with Nicodemus, a religious leader.
Because I feel like a lot of people have a hard time getting this heart connection with Jesus
because we've allowed religion to create this barrier between us with Jesus,
a k.a. a cage of rules, right?
And I love Jesus's interaction with Nicodemus and John 3 because he's a religious leader that wanted to know truth,
which was relationship with him.
them. If you read that passage of John 3, we have the famous John 3 16, for God so loved the world that he gave us one and only son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son in the little world to condemn it, but so that he might save it through him. It's powerful. But when you read that, I want you guys to encourage you guys for homework to go read the interaction of John 3 with Nicodemus. Because when Jesus Christ dies and resurrects and the veil is torn, religion, aka the cage of
rules is broken and relationship personal relationship with Jesus is introduced where we are we have full
access to him as friend and as lover Jesus Christ the last thing I want to point out is John four
when Jesus meets the woman at the well Jesus goes out of his way to go meet this woman at the well
because it's so personal and so specific and that's who Jesus is with you that's how precious
Jesus is, is he's willing to go out of his way to meet you. I ran from God for so long the night that I was
going to take my life. I went to Waffle House as my last meal and Jesus went out of his way. Like I think of it like
this. Jesus has a million other things going on. A million other people that are probably more important than me,
a million other things that he's doing. But the night I'm going to take my life, Jesus encountered me in Waffle House.
Because I'm the apple of his eye. And that's how
precious I hand to him. But you're also the apple of his eye. And instead of taking my life,
I gave my life to somebody who wanted it. I surrendered my life to Jesus. And God loves you in that
same way. Jesus is so precious to you. You're so precious to Jesus. And so why not allow Jesus
to come into your life and give yourself? Just surrender all of yourself to him. Stop surrendering 90% of
yourself to him and then leaving that 10% of yourself to get sad and watch Netflix or get sad and go
eat food or get sad and scroll on Instagram or TikTok like surrender yourself to him because Jesus wants
all of you so that he can do a heart work within you I'm going to pray that you guys experience
the fullness of him that you can experience Jesus in a personal way and that the spirit of God will
encounter you Jesus I thank you for everyone watching and listening to this episode God I just pray
that you'll encounter people listening to this episode.
God, will you just give people a new profound revelation of who you are as being Lord,
giver of grace and truth?
Kind Father, Jesus, thank you for everyone who listens or watches this in Jesus' name.
Amen.
