And the least they ever gave you was the most you ever knew. And I wonder where these dreams go when the world gets in your way.
Starting point is 00:02:18 What's the point in all this screaming? No one's listening anyway. Brandon. There's gonna be a total of two people that know that song. It's no way. There's gonna be two people that A, know that song and then B, know that it's in one of these episodes. This was the only song that stood out to me in this six episodes.
Starting point is 00:02:47 We watched I literally there is a search in I couldn't remember what it was because I didn't recognize bare naked ladies. I know. But like, did I literally have a search in my Spotify of Google dolls because I was going to look up this song and then I got distracted and forgot to finish the search to try and track down the song. Because I was like, why is this a cuckoo doll song that I know? But it was and I told you this offline, this was a mainstay for sad boy Heath, like in high school. If the girl that like that I liked didn't like me back or something, you know, like, like, I mean, we're watching Dustin's Creek,
Starting point is 00:03:25 like the usual high school shit. You know? Yeah. Probably. Dude, I probably am Joey out of any of the characters. The only problem is, is I came from. I was saying, you were, whenever you and your Joey were having issues,
Starting point is 00:03:38 this is the song you put on, you know? Dude, I was, I don't know. You kind of are Joey though. Now that I think about it. You're both just unbridled anger for everything. I am just fiery Brandon. You're Joey, you're Joey without any of the trauma that would excuse your anger.
Starting point is 00:04:04 I was just gonna say, I'm Joey from a good home. Yeah. Same anger level, but none of the excuses. Like not to defend myself, but my family does communicate by yelling. And so I just, I get, it always feels like I'm mad, but usually I'm just like, it's like, oh shit, sorry.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Like it happens at work all the time. It's like, dude, I'm not mad. I'm just like talking. Like if you, if, if I was yelling, you would know. Like you would, you would actually be scared. This is me just speaking at you. It reminds me of the, it's like an early Bob's Burgers episode where him and uh, one of the side characters, like the dude who, uh, like
Starting point is 00:04:49 the trust fund dude, he's always making documentaries. I forget his name, but him and Bob were yelling at each other. And the guys like, the guys like, I don't know why we're yelling. I'm just matching your energy. Dude, I don't know, Brandon. Goo goo dolls, man. They just they were just they were so good in the 90s. They were just what's the point in all this screaming?
Starting point is 00:05:15 You're not listening in any way. Is his name Reznor Reznor, Rezny, James Rezny, Jeremy Rezny? I wouldn't even be able to guess. I'll take your word for it. Reznor, Tret Reznor is that's tool. I don't know if they know. OK, hold on. I was I was I was he close to this name. John Reznor, Reznor, Reznornick, Rez.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Is Nick. OK, you had two of the letters, right? That's close. Yeah. Yeah. For me, see, Google Trent Reznor, is he tool that tool? Trent. Is. He is. What is it? Nine inch nails. Oh, OK, I was off there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Nine inch nails tool. Same tomato, tomato. Same thing. You say tomato, I say potato. Am I right? Okay. So Brandon, hold on. We have a great batch of episodes though, Yves.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Great batch of episodes. And I feel like we have to start Dawson's Creek every time this exact same way. I fucking love this show. Like I, I love this show Brandon. Like I get so excited when I, when we watch these episodes, I've just, I enjoy watching them. Yesterday, Kelly joined me for a couple of them. Like it was just, it were, it, they're, they're tremendous. It is just, it is, it is all the things I would want my 19 late nineties, uh,
Starting point is 00:06:52 teenage sitcom to be. It was just, my God, I love it. And you know what my favorite part is, is that they pull no punches. And I have always been, especially we're getting to the heart of it now. Everybody's sleeping with everybody. You know, like it's, but you know, cause I've always been a go big or go home kind of guy. Like in college, yikes. Like that did not, um, like, I mean, I had a lot of fun, but not always the best advice to live by, but like, and that's why I think I love Dawson's Creek cause they don't hold back. Like they're not going to do anything halfway. They're gonna, if they have a storyline, they're going hold back like they're not gonna do anything halfway They're gonna if they have a storyline they're gonna go they're gonna go all the way. They're gonna go there
Starting point is 00:07:30 It's like oh crazy mom storyline We're gonna double down and we're gonna start getting some prescription drug uncertainty in here with some Xanax, you know, why not? I don't I don't think that was for her mom No, it was for her and that's like it was I felt. And that's like, it was, I felt so like they, there was like, they're just peppering, like, cause they're like, okay, now we're just gonna, like we've got the mom dealing with this stuff. Now we're gonna double down and we're gonna throw in
Starting point is 00:07:56 severe mental health issues for the children as well. And we're gonna like toe the line with just. Dude, like if you were dealing with that. She's doing pretty well. If you, like if you were dealing with that, she's doing pretty well. If you were, if I was dealing with that on a day to day basis, I would need all of the drugs. Yeah. Oh, 100%. I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm saying they're going to go there. Like no matter, like that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Like it's, they're great storylines, but they're not going to like pull punches and just be like, Oh, there is like some mental health issues. Like, Nope, this shit sucks. This is crazy. She's the breadwinner of the house. All of a sudden get her some fucking Xanax so she can deal with this shit. You know, I just feel like Xanax might be a little too strong for a teenager. Like, you know, maybe it's just me. I've never,
Starting point is 00:08:45 you know, like you take his Annie and I'm out. Yeah. Sleep. Yeah. I've, uh, I've never taken Xanax even, uh, even just to knock myself out. That's first. Nope. Never, never for, uh, for shits and giggles. Um, so yeah, I don't know, but the 16, I mean, uh, this was like 90s, Lan X two, it's probably double the dosage. That's what I'm saying. I mean, they, we just, we don't need to get into the, the insane heat thoughts about over
Starting point is 00:09:18 prescribing children. This stuff, man, you don't want to delve into Heath's pharmaceutical corner. That could, boy, that could get me in trouble in many different areas, right? But anyways, it's just, I'm just saying, Brandon, like, I love this show. It's so good. They always go there. They're not afraid to go there. Yeah, sorry. Danny, I texted Danny a second ago when we were talking about offline. And we were talking about his brother-in-law and the Google dolls, cause he's a huge Google dolls fan. And I said, I think his name's Dewey. I was way off. What is it? It's Augie. His name's
Starting point is 00:09:58 sick. But it was, I was right. Right. That's a sick name. I just, I was way off on what it actually was, but I'll, he, I'll, he's a huge, uh, good all span. Yeah. Same. Yeah. Same. He's from Buffalo hometown band, dude. You know, sorry to interrupt you, but wings and goo goo dolls. But, uh, so this batch of every time I die, I believe is Buffalo. Or you probably wouldn't know them, but that's another great band. So you interrupted my state for some stupid ass band that I don't know. Every time I die, dude, you should listen to them.
Starting point is 00:10:30 They're fucking fantastic. I'm not going to, I've, I've gotten past the, like people yelling at me. And when I'm, it's just, it's not relaxing to me. It just, it's just, it's like, Hey, let's calm down a little bit. You know, I mean, we just, we just talked about how angry you're all the time. I feel like that music would, would help me get some of it out. Yeah. Although I mean, it is true.
Starting point is 00:10:52 The most of those, if you, if you're already angry, you tend not to listen to that music, you know? Yeah. Like there's no need. It's another, another band shed out here. August burns red. They used to have a slogan that they had on all their shirts and stuff. And it was angry music for happy people.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Oh, nice. So like I, when I was angry and I listened to that music, it just got more angry. And so now it's just, you know, I just listened to some nicer things, you know, some cuckoo dolls. So good. I am really surprised you didn't clock bear naked ladies. I don't know why, but I feel like you are like, you are. Prime target core demographic of bear naked ladies. I feel like you would have been a huge you should. You should be a huge bear naked lady, sir.
Starting point is 00:11:41 First of all, I feel like you're saying it as a bad thing. And I love the bear naked ladies,. First of all, I feel like you're saying it as a bad thing. And I would just love the bear naked ladies, dude. Okay. I was going to say, if, if so, I would just refer to you to the episode of community for the opening when they all rail against Jeff. That's right. We, we, we've talked about, we've talked about burning ladies for, and you still didn't, you still didn't clock the bear naked ladies song. Yeah. You know, I just, I just know the core Bear Naked Ladies songs.
Starting point is 00:12:06 And what's the... Do Bear Naked Ladies sing the If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars I'd buy you a fur coat But not a real fur coat That's cruel Dude, that song is a banger. I'm pretty sure
Starting point is 00:12:32 Song that the song who needs sleep that plays in episode 7 here pressure that's on the same album that if I had a million dollars on so Your lack of bare naked lady knowledge astonishes me he's both both the band and literal bare naked ladies I don't know what to do with you Lady knowledge astonishes me. He's both both the band and literal bare naked ladies. I don't know what to do with you, Brandon. You are the worst. Okay, can I get us going on this? Are you gonna keep interrupting me with your nonsensical quips? I've been waiting all fucking morning. What's the what's the I don't have time for your sarcastic quips. Yeah, what is that from? It's real br what's the, I don't have time for your sarcastic quips. Yeah. What is that from again? It's a real bros.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Oh, yeah. Yeah. See, I don't have time for your sarcastic quips. Oh, God. I fucking. Wade, because he's talking about Wade, especially for someone that doesn't even burn. Yeah. God, I fucking love that show so much. So good. I just yeah, we talked about that too. But OK, Brandon, we're talking about that too. But okay, Brandon, we are doing season two,
Starting point is 00:13:28 Dawson's Creek, episode six through 11. And we've got some heaters and we kick it off and you know it's heaters because we kick things off when we're talking cut loose, get loose. Come on, something about your shoes. Take off your your shoes. Take off your sons. Take off your Sunday. Please pull me off my knees. Take off your Sunday shoes. Take off your Sunday shoes.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Sometimes if I forget the words, I just go, you know, on vibes. Nobody. Yeah, I feel like that's a normal thing that people do. Right? Like you just share or do people hum? Do people hum? Is that, is there like a, I've never forgotten the other word, Jeff single song in my life. So I don't know how that feels. No, no, come on. That's, that's not true. I wonder if there is like a, like a common practice amongst us as humans of like,
Starting point is 00:14:24 if you forget the words of the song, what do the majority of Americans do? Do they hum? Do they just kind of drop out? Do they vibe? If I'm by myself, like in the car, I'm making up words. You know, whatever it takes to keep the melody going.
Starting point is 00:14:39 If I am singing in front of people, like say karaoke, or just around, like if we got a guitar out in, uh, around a bonfire or a campfire and I forget those words, then I'm humming. And I'm like, I don't, you know, I'm humming the melody. You know, if we, when I, when I make a bonfire, I'm probably going to go home. If I'm being honest, I'm not gonna, what the fuck? What are you going to a bonfire for? If nobody's going to play the guitar, bring it. You, you, you play drinking games, you,
Starting point is 00:15:17 at a bonfire. Yeah. What else are you doing? You don't play drinking games at a bonfire. Yeah. You just drink. The, but the, the, the game is the bonfire. You don't need extra entertainment at the bonfire. You can still do some drinking games. You don't need a guitar then Brandon. That just poked a hole in your thing. I'm just, no guitar bonfires are one of the same. You can't have one without the other. Cause you know what? No, come on. Cause you know what happens? It's always someone that can play, but like,
Starting point is 00:15:44 it's never anybody that can play, but like, it's never anybody that can play. It's and it's yeah. Cause and there's, and there's just like ear shattering missed chords that you just, it's just not for me, Brandon. It's just, I'm not a big fan of guitars coming out. It's just not my steez. I am not a fan of guitars coming out unless I'm in a bonfire then I'm all in It's but now if the person is good or they're like, hey, I do this There's a there's a very there's a very fine line if you're too good, then I'm out. Oh
Starting point is 00:16:16 See interesting. I'd rather have so like if you're gonna do it you may as well be fucking good. It's a my my enjoyment of guitars in in a non concert setting is a bell curve. Interesting. You know, if you're terrible, not interested, if you're mediocre, OK, I'm intrigued a little bit. If you're slightly above average, average, I'm all in. If you're like a fucking savant, I'm out. Hmm. Interesting. I'm out. Because what Interesting. I'm out.
Starting point is 00:16:47 Because what are you doing here? Go play for the queen. That's an insane take, Brandon. But all right, let's get to this first episode, The Dance, because it's great. And it starts with the core four, right? Or three of the four. Recap where we left off here. He's where we ended. Where did we end? We ended in full moon. Oh my gosh. Full moon shenanigans everywhere. Jen got sexually assaulted. Jack kissed Joey. Yeah. She she didn't kiss him back, but she didn't pull away.
Starting point is 00:17:22 Yep. Jen's rebound goes wrong. That's what the breakdown said from Chad GPT Uh-huh. Yeah Let's see Forgot about that my god with the omit Mitch and get Mitchie Gale finally decided to call it. Yep. Good call it quits Pacey and Andy have a breakthrough on their date. They kind of level a breakthrough on their date. They kind of are taking it to the next level. Wait, is that or yeah, that's the episode where we find out about our mom, right? Yep. Yep. Okay. Yeah. So we got, we got, we got sexual assault, Jack Kiss and Joey, crazy mom, divorce and Dawson. Dawson's fall out from the divorce.
Starting point is 00:18:01 Cause we know like, dude,, normal well adjusted human beings struggle with divorce. Right? Dawson, the over emotional pretentious pretends like everything is a movie. Once again, to be fair, I did tend to like, sometimes I would push the envelope of being like, you know, this feels like it might be on a sitcom. Let's see what happens. This that that process would go through my mind a lot as a kid.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Just give it a shot, you know, okay. Like I would just be like this kind of feels like what would happen on a show. Let's just give a shot. You know, let's just give it a try. Let's see what happens. What are you talking about? You never cause like you never like would like just test the waters like in class or just in life.
Starting point is 00:18:51 I tested the waters all the time, but I didn't do it because I thought it was a sitcom show. Oh, that's, that would always be my thought process. I'd be like, oh, I bet somebody would try this on a sitcom. Let's see what happens. Oh my God. Is that not a normal thing to think about? No, no.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Jesus. Maybe I should, I don't know. I tested the waters as much as anybody. Uh, but yeah, it was never because I was like, Oh, I saw fucking. I said because I saw someone do it. I saw this on step by step. So let's do this. It's never cause I saw someone do it. I'd be like, well, I bet someone would do this. Let me see. saw someone do it. I'd be like, well, I bet someone would do this. Let me see. Let me say this out loud. Anyways, um, this.
Starting point is 00:19:32 Maybe somebody's filming me right now. You know, no, that was, that was before. Honestly, I was empowered because there was no filming. That's fair. You know, like that's, that's, there was, there was no record. So if it went wrong, you know, you just deal with the fallout right there in the moment and then you move on. That's a he said, she said. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:52 You just deal with the fallout right there. You own it and then you move on. Everyone moves on. Who are you going to believe the English teacher or me? All right. So this is a wild episode, Brandon. And for the love of P, I cannot believe the breaking of Joey and Dawson happened so hot and so fast and so quick.
Starting point is 00:20:14 We just got them together, but it was just awkward from the beginning. First kiss, falling apart, too much like dreaming, you know, like it was too much pie in the sky dreams attached to the reality of love and like the reality versus the storybook moment. Oh, Brandon, son of a biscuit in a basket. Plus the kiss from Jack. Oh my gosh. Sparks are igniting because there's actually weirdly more romance there because Dawson and Joey, they just hit that like,
Starting point is 00:20:46 you know, sometimes, you know, what is it? When Harry met Sally, right? Isn't that what that was all about? Like just two friends, just trying to get through it. And I just, I don't know if they could cross over the- I don't think that was when Harry met Sally because that's when they meet, they meet in the movie. They're not like friends, right?
Starting point is 00:21:04 Oh, damn, yeah. It's been probably 20 years they meet, they meet in the movie. They're not like friends, right? It's been probably 20 years since I've seen when, when Harry met Sally. So I have no idea, but either way it's, it's like all the friendship movies, right? Like it's just, it's hard. I feel like it's, it's hard for friends, right? Sometimes, I don't know. Especially when you're 16. From childhood too, right? Like that's, I feel like that's different too.
Starting point is 00:21:29 There's 16, they've been, they've known each other since they were like eight years old, you know? Yeah. I, I, yeah. Especially when you're 16 years old and you don't know, you don't know how to treat anybody. Yeah. And in like, in, in that kiss from Jack, like it, like she was like, Oh shit. Cause remember like her and Dawson were having a hard time like finding the
Starting point is 00:21:52 passion in it too. Right? Like it was like, this feels like it should work on paper. And I've always liked you, but like the, they had the passion, right? Cause they had the, they had the whole, this is the first kiss, then the second kiss, and then they did the third, fourth, and fifth right after the second, you know? Yeah. They had the... I don't know. I just never quite...
Starting point is 00:22:12 I mean, I don't know. Dawson has the sex appeal of a wet blanket, so I don't know. Yeah. I did, I lost it when, I was on Andy's side 100% about the school dance. I will say that, Brandon. When it came down to the school dance, and Andy's like, you guys about the school dance, I will say that Brandon, when it came down to the school dance and Andy's like,
Starting point is 00:22:27 you guys, we should go to the dance. So there's a small town and they're like, we would rather watch a movie about high school kids going to the dance than go into the dance ourselves. Come on. She had a great rebuttal point to that, which was- I can't remember what it was. She said, what about sex?
Starting point is 00:22:44 Do you just watch people have sex instead probably going to be like a real choice. Like I said, like people, people are going to have to decide, but I, I just, I don't know. Was that like, there's such a small town. I just figured you just go like, I don't know. Maybe Wayne was different. Cause even like, I feel like everyone went, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know, like, like, you know, like, you know, like, you know I just figured you just go like, I don't know. Maybe Wayne was different. Cause even like, I feel like everyone went, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:10 you didn't have like a, like the, the black sheep of the, of the, the high school that didn't go. No, they came. They still came. They usually just like maybe a little stone, maybe a little drunk, but they would always come, you know? Okay. Like it was, it was, and like, I don't know if they, like, they might've been black sheep and I, I don't know, like none of us, like no one was ever mean to each other. If you like, unless you had like personal beef. I had very hard to believe. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:23:37 We just, we, we get, I mean, we all still get along pretty well. It's small town stuff though. It was like, there'd be some personal beefs. There'd be some outsider stat, like, you know, there was a little bit of back and forth, but I don't know. Like normally everyone would come, even the black sheep, they would still come. You know what I mean? Like they had just come like intoxicated and like that was their way of like versus not going. If that makes sense. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:24:02 Okay. Yeah, that makes sense here. I explained that poorly. I meant. Yeah. Yeah. No, I your Andy is in the dances, but I went to, you know, 90% of them. Maybe I missed one in the four years, but yeah, just go. So you're going to do. Yeah. Although they are. How else are you going to do? They are in a, in a scenic, uh, capeside town though.
Starting point is 00:24:38 So probably lots of stuff to do. Go snorkeling. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what they do. None of them are rich though. So they don't have a lot of, you know, a lot of discretionary income until we, until we meet Chris. But my, I, you, like I said,
Starting point is 00:24:57 I pretty sure I went to all of my dance high school dances, maybe missed one. Um, my high school was so big though that unless, unless it was your friend that didn't show up, you would have no idea if people were not there. And, and so like, but then that's like a little different too, right? I don't, I don't know. The only person that I feel like was justified to like bail on the dance is Jen, right? Like Jen is in this, like, I mean, she should go for her mental health and just like getting back out there.
Starting point is 00:25:28 But I would understand. I understood her reasoning more than anyone. Like she's feeling in between multiple friend groups. She's been crashing out super hard. She's she's like she got kicked out of her parents house. She's dealing with her grandpa's death. Her grandma has vanished. She must just be hanging out at church praying all the time. And Jen is just running roughshod over that town. Like she has every reason to be like, you know what? I'm out. Like, I just don't want to deal with the bullshit. I don't want to deal with people.
Starting point is 00:25:59 Okay. Yeah. And now, now that I think about it, I wasn't even, I wasn't even thinking about, um, the fact that they, they have built in dates. They're already, like, they're already romantically involved. You don't have to find somebody. So it's not like you're going to go, you're not going to stag. You're not going to alone. Um, which that would be a reason I guess you wouldn't want to go if you don't have a, if you don't have a date, but they, yeah, they have built in dates.
Starting point is 00:26:24 Yeah. Like the four of them could go together. Like that's the easy, that's the easy. Four. Four, whew. Well, it's Andy, Pacey, Dawson, Joey. They're not all gonna go together. This is a swinger, Keith.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Well, you know, damn it, Brandon, you always do this and you're the worst. But I love that Andy. I'm getting you ready for our purity test breakdown here. Dude, the scoring, it didn't give me a breakdown. I'll explain it to you. Oh, okay. So I took it.
Starting point is 00:26:57 I took it and I answered all the questions as if it was now, as if I was, you know, an 85 year old man. Yeah. Then I was like, Oh, let me go back and take it from the, like, from the perspective of when I was 16, what had I done when I was a 16 year old? Oh, I retook it a second time and I got a wildly different score. Well, cause that's it. I was like, you know, I'm almost 40.
Starting point is 00:27:23 This, this test isn't that far out there for the life that I've lived across the US. You know what I mean? I would be shocked if you had a high score and a little worried. Yeah, I just, you know, and I've lived, you know, I've just I've lived. But anyway, so. Andy tries to set up Jack with Jen for the dance, you know, tries to get them kind of, kind of going, but, but she's a wild pairing, wild pairing, but she also isn't settled on Jen.
Starting point is 00:27:55 She's just trying to get like Jack back out. It was, it was, it was just, she just needed a warm body. That's what she was looking for. Yeah. And Jen was, oh cool. a warm body. That's what she was looking for. Yeah. And Jen was, oh cool. Open, warm body, let's go. And you can see, Andy did annoy me a little bit in this regard about how she was like acting towards Jen, especially when Jen was like getting ready to leave.
Starting point is 00:28:17 She was like, oh, I think I'm going to leave. And she, Andy like fucking like guilt trips or gaslights her. And she's like, we're just finally talking to each other. We're just finally starting to get to know each other and you're going to leave. And it's like, bitch, you haven't said one fucking word to her all night. You only invited her here. So she, she would dance with your brother, you know, uh, like that she was, she was annoying me with that. It's like, let the girl leave. And, but then it all goes awry when she, for some reason only known to her,
Starting point is 00:28:48 takes Dawson mid-dance out of the picture and pairs Joey with Jack. Do you think she did that on purpose? Did she know that he liked her? Well, you didn't hear what she said, right? No, I don't think so. So it's after Jen... I didn't realize until episode nine that the subtitles weren't on. And I just I was watching. I was watching.
Starting point is 00:29:08 I was like, God, something feels off with this watch. And then finally, oh, my God, the subtitles are not. So let me bring in tons of stuff. Let me break this down for you. So at this point, Jen is. Did she already leave her? She's in the fucking hallway, Mack and on the cheerleader love that.
Starting point is 00:29:27 And so Andy, Andy, and he was refusing to dance with Andy and Andy is like, I want to dance. Um, and so, because, so she's, she does a dance with Jack, her brother, and he's like, I want to dance with Andy. And so, um, and he's like, I want to dance with Andy. And so, and he's like, I want to dance with Andy and Andy is like, I want to dance. And so because so she's she does a dance with Jack, her brother. And then that's when she goes over to Dawson and she's like, hey, Dawson,
Starting point is 00:29:56 we're switching because I'm not going to dance with my fucking brother all night. That's right. I forgot about that. So, yeah, so that's why she switches. I don't think I don't think she knew that Jack had kissed Joey. I don't think, I don't think she knew that Jack had kissed Joey. I don't know though. They, they, they never, they, they don't ever, they don't have an on on screen conversation about it. So I don't know if, and I doubt it. Jack doesn't seem like he would. No, no, he wouldn't, he wouldn't tell her. You're right. But my God, Dawson picks up on the chemistry almost.
Starting point is 00:30:25 I mean, they're, I mean, we're Jack and Joe and they're arguing. These people have no, just zero, uh, subtlety about anything. It's just, there's some real back and forth. And then I was surprised that Dawson punched Jack. I was, yeah, that was weird. I, but he, they did, I guess it made sense when they said that he did it because that's what the character in the movie would do
Starting point is 00:30:54 in the high school drama. Yeah. Someone said that to him. Yeah. I think Joey says that to him. All right, okay, yeah, I think you're right. But yeah, yeah, that was, yeah, I don't know. God. And then he, well, it wasn't a very hard hit.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Jack took it like a fucking champ. Didn't faze him at all. Yeah, actually didn't Dawson punch Basie last year? They just kind of rolled around when they fought. Remember when they fought then Jim? I don't know. Threw the ball at him. We didn't punch him, that's right.
Starting point is 00:31:24 Yeah. Oh, that was really good stuff know. Through the ball. Through the ball. We didn't punch him. That's right. Yeah. Oh, that was really good stuff too. God, this show was so good. It's just my God. This where do they come up with this stuff, Brandon? I don't know, man. I don't know. My God. Well, yeah. So, so yeah, Dawson punches him.
Starting point is 00:31:38 And then him and Joey have a huge. And then and then Joey was just feeling suffocated by all things. Dawson. She's like, I'm losing who I am. I need to, I need to break away. I need to be an artist. So Dawson was smothering too. He was, he was incredibly smothering, but I go back to, you've known this motherfucker for 16 years. You know what he's going to do. That's you know, he's going to behave like this. That is no, it's no excuse, but a, you know, a communicate. Okay. Don't let shit build
Starting point is 00:32:17 up and explode. But also you, you knew what you were getting yourself into. You, you, you know, this guy your whole life and he's always been dramatic. You've watched him smother everybody. Why would he not smother you? I mean, it's, it's, oh my God, Brandon. And we have to say, the first time they say, I love you is after the breakup. Oh my God. It just, I was losing my ever loving mind. It's I love you. I love you too. The break breaking up. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:32:52 The, the breakup and then shouting, I love you as she walks away. Was unbelievable. You know what it reminded me of? Did I ever tell you about the story of the breakup of the people that lived above us and Glendale and the, the pining that he was doing at 2am? All right. So Kelly, the, the Glendale, Colorado, not known to be, you know, the, you know, it's, it's just, don't bad mouth Glendale, Colorado.
Starting point is 00:33:24 It's home to shotgun Willie's. Okay. Thank youmouth Glendale, Colorado. Home to Shotgun Willys? Okay, thank you. Okay, that says everything I need to know. Glendale, Colorado, home to the top strip club in the place. But just, it's an interesting mix of people, Brandon. Let's just say that. Interesting mix of people. I know, I lived in Glendale for a second too. Our neighbors were real mix of people. I know our neighbors in Glendale for a second too. I know. Yeah. Our neighbors were real pieces of work.
Starting point is 00:33:46 They, I had to scream at them multiple times because they get shit based and try to come into our apartment and like just come into your apartment. Yeah. Chaos. Like it was chaos. Like that apartment was nuts. The amount of times the cops came. But so we get to hear what is probably the most epic fight and like breakup and they are screaming.
Starting point is 00:34:09 And at first I was on the guy's side because he was he is from his from what he was saying. He was paying all the bills. He was doing all this stuff and she was just out kind of going out with her friends and not spending time. Yeah. And like that's it. But then he started taking it too far and started getting, then you write. And I was like, oh, you had me and then you lost me because you started being weird and mean and just took it too far.
Starting point is 00:34:37 But then he they break up and he's like, kicks her out, tries to beg for her back. And then he kicks her out again and so she leaves the second time and she leaves and you can just hear him stewing upstairs and then he comes, goes thundering down the stairs but she's gone. Like she's, I don't know where she went, she disappeared into the night and he goes running back upstairs and he is out on his patio screaming, Marissa, come back to me. For way too long, like screaming this at the top, Marissa, come back to me. See that would've, that would have won me back on the side.
Starting point is 00:35:26 To the point where the next day, one of the neighbors, when I was talking to the dog, he's like, Hey man, do you hear some commotion last night? It's like, do you want the full breakdown? It happened above my apartment. And he was like, Oh my God, Marissa. Like it was like a whole thing in the apartments. It was, a whole thing in the apartments. It was unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:35:47 But that is my pining. Like every time I think of pining or just like screaming after someone to come back, I will always remember the dude that lived above us and screaming for Marissa to come back. And it was just from his soul too, you know? It was wild, but anyways. You should have put up, like, you know, like lost dog signs.
Starting point is 00:36:11 You should have put up like a lost Marissa sign. That would have been amazing. That would have been too mean, but I, Brandon, I could not believe that Dawson and Joey were broken up. Guns-o. Six episodes. They only lasted Six episodes. Six episodes. They only lasted six episodes. The whole build to the kiss in season one
Starting point is 00:36:32 and in six episodes, these two have completely fallen apart. Dawson has smothered the spark. Joey feels like she's losing herself in the relationship because she doesn't wanna be Dawson's side piece. You know, like it's losing herself in the relationship because she doesn't want to be Dawson's side piece You know, like it's just oh my god. That's you know what they say. He's Love is a fickle bitch Do they say that? That's what I say. I don't know if they say that's what I said
Starting point is 00:36:57 I'm sure there's like a fickle love saying somebody somebody else said that I can't be the only one. I'm not that smart. Oh my god, But it's, so it's a mutual parting of the ways, which is nice. You know, there was not mutual. You don't think that was mutual? Chad GPT broke that down as mutual. That's a liar. His in this next episode is mom, uh, right. That's when they have the movie night and she's like, yeah, she's trying to get Dawson to be a, to cry. She's like, you gotta let it out.
Starting point is 00:37:31 It's considering you're the one who got dumped. You have an excuse to be all sad. He got dumped. That was not mutual. You can't, you don't, when you shout, I love you as they're walking away, you don't get to claim mutual at that. I would tell that to chat GPT. I will since they're listening. Fucking robots. Um, okay. So the breakup wild Amazing. I couldn't believe it. But the whole pacey storyline of
Starting point is 00:37:57 Him refusing to dance but then dancing with the heartbroken cheerleader But getting caught by and, I loved it. I loved it. I'm pretty sure I did that one time in high school. Oh my God, you would. Yeah, I've never once claimed to not be the worst. You know, like I am very self-aware. I just, I had no idea what I was doing.
Starting point is 00:38:22 I was just a baby giraffe in life and I fl flailed and sometimes I accidentally kick someone with my hoof. And I apologize to all those people. Life has since repaid me. Now you apologize. I'm pretty sure I apologize to them too. I apologize if I knew what I was doing. If I was too unaware, I will own those apologies now. Just out there breaking hearts, man.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Oh my God, oh yeah. Yeah, like there were a couple that were, there was a couple Brandon, it was bad. I actually feel bad for it. Like I said, life has repaid me, but there were a couple, I was like, you know, that was very unkind of me to do. And I probably shouldn't have done that. And there's probably a deeper apology out somewhere along the lines.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Been there, been there, but you know, you'll get what's coming to you. It's I feel like I already have good God. But it was, I, they did a great job. The, I forget the actress's name.
Starting point is 00:39:24 She does a great job. I forget the actress's name. She does a great job. It's Ali Larder. Yeah, Ali Larder. It's the same cheerleader from three or four episodes ago when Andy told her Pacey was dying. Yep, exactly. That was hilarious. They have good chemistry, great on-screen chemistry, and I just really enjoyed that scene. I thought it was interesting. I thought it was very high school. Allie Larder is fantastic. Um, I don't think there's a single person she doesn't have chemistry with. It was also a really great, like, you know, showing of the human instinct to
Starting point is 00:39:58 always want what you can't have, you know, like that, you know what I mean? I felt like that was like kind of an underlying thing of like, it's just, we are, we can't help ourselves. He loves her too. He idolizes her. Oh yeah. Loves a strong word. He loves the idea of her.
Starting point is 00:40:14 Yeah. Um, Kelly, Oh my God, Kelly used to say that I probably shouldn't say this on the public, Kelly used to say that to me all the time when we first started dating, she's like, I would be like, I don't even, it's me, right? So I don't know what that means. Like, what is, do you love me or do you, are you just in love with the idea? I mean, I was like, what is, what does that mean? No, no offense to Kelly, but the audacity to say that about yourself is unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Like that's something that I, that I would say to you. Like, do you love Kelly or you just love the idea of her? But for Kelly to say that to you, what were you doing? To be fair, I've never been known to be like super affectionate, you know? Yeah. I mean, that not being super affectionate would warrant that. Like, like that would like this. It I don't know. That's a that's a wild, wild. That's a wild story.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Yeah, it's she's she's the best. Yeah. It's, you know. Oh, Kelly. OK. But yeah, but yeah, but you're right though. He loves the idea. Pacey loves the idea of the cheerleader because he wants what he can't have. Yeah. And he even, he kind of touches on that when he, when he's talking to Andy and he's like, I was just acting out a fantasy. Like I was acting out my fantasy. Haven't you ever wanted to do that? And Andy was like, yeah, I was just acting out a fantasy. Like I was acting out my fantasy. Haven't you ever wanted to do that? And Andy was like, yeah, I was trying to do that with you.
Starting point is 00:41:49 You fucking dummy. And they usually don't do it at the expense of someone else. Hopefully, hopefully. Yeah. Poor, poor Andy. I mean, I just, I feel like Pacey doesn't mean to, but I just, you know, Andy feel like Pacey doesn't mean to, but I just, you know, Andy needs a little more steadfastness with her situation, I feel like.
Starting point is 00:42:11 It's true, but I think that's why she likes Pacey so much. It's because he's a wild card, he's a maverick. Yeah, he is. He is a maverick. And he like loves owning his maverick title. Then he has to, I mean, that's all he's got. You know, he's, he's failing out of, he's failing out of 10th grade. His dad hates him.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Yeah. Um, you know, he's recovering from being, you know, uh, statutory raped by the teacher. Yeah, that was, uh, it was, mean, that, that first episode, the dance, my God, Brandon, like I said, it was, that was good. Yeah, that was a good episode. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. The next one, the all nighter one, good Lord, it's another one that's just like son of a bitch they go there you know they just for the love of Pete they just go there you know and it's and I love it I'm there and so we get a new person right like we get introduced to Chris. His last name is Wolf, says my notes. And Chris with an E at the end.
Starting point is 00:43:28 Well, obviously. Yeah. Thanks. And so we've got Dawson, Joey, Pacey, Andy, Jack, Jen and Chris. And Chris is known to be a little bit of a bad boy. Yeah. And and one might even call him a sexual deviant. Brandon probably, um, and that's not, not untrue. And he invites everyone under the pretense of studying to come party at his place. Yes. Well, and he believes it. Somehow we're all back in the same English class, even though we weren't a couple of
Starting point is 00:44:04 episodes ago. Yeah, that's, that's crazy. You don't know. Somehow we're all back in the same English class, even though we weren't a couple of episodes ago. Yeah, that's, that's crazy. You don't know. I definitely, I, when I was like doing some research, it came up in, I was like, I was reading an article. Oh, in the Goofs? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:18 And it was like, it was like, they have, they're, they're sometimes they're in the same class, sometimes they're not. It just, you know, it just, it depends on whatever the plot, you know, deems as necessary. Um, you know, I kind of love it. It's, it's very nineties of that. So they're all in the same English class. It's midterms, I believe.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Right. And the, their English teacher sounds like a real fucking treat. Yeah. He's basically like this midterm is 50% of your grade, which I hated classes that did that word fucking the worst Where it was like just it's like just two two things that are 50% of your grade. I like That's psycho shit. Yeah, that's that's not why that's not doing anything to prepare kids for life That's not how life works. Yeah, especially because from what I could gather, it was this midterm was on literally everything they learned for the first half,
Starting point is 00:45:12 which seemed based on their study session, seemed like 50 books. Yeah, it was. They were talking about Beowulf, Gulliver's Travels. Do you think it was all the books they were supposed to have read throughout the year? That's it. It was like their final or there's a midterm. It's major. But even even to ask, I mean, that's a lot for if it's the first half, even if it's just half a year. That's an insane amount of books to read for for a 16 year old, especially to retain all of that information.
Starting point is 00:45:44 Yeah. And you're doing extracurriculars, not these dorks, especially to retain all of that information. Yeah. And you're doing extracurriculars, not these dorks, but like everyone else is doing extracurriculars. If I read, if I read Beowulf in August and the midterm is what? December, end of December, mid December, right before Christmas break, right? Yeah. There's zero chance I remember anything about that book, especially if I've had to read 18 other books in between.
Starting point is 00:46:07 That's why they're cramming Brandon. But the study and the midterm are beside the point because what we have here is a gathering of awkwardness and tension. We have a normal high school Saturday night. Although this is like a, this is like a Thursday night. I mean, this has some extra special layers, but it is, I mean, I, it's, did you, the Dawson and Joey post breakup, they do such a good job. James Vanderbeek, my God, he does such an incredible job with Dawson. It is, it actually is like like Dawson is unbearable.
Starting point is 00:46:48 And it's like every time I watch it and Kelly actually shouted out to us like he is so incredible at bringing the character of Dawson to life. Like he it's so believable. Like it feels like he like, you know what I mean? Like it feels like James Vanderbeek is Dawson. Yeah. It makes me hate James Vanderbeek. No, stop. He's so good. Oh, he's good. But I'm like, oh yeah, that's incredible. And is incredible. And and and like him and Katie Holmes, like they do such a good job of like that post breakup awkwardness,
Starting point is 00:47:25 like the scenes of them together. And like, I think we talked about it in season one, but like Katie Holmes, like facial expressions that she uses. Holy cow. It's it, it was just, it was so well done. That's why it like brings me in so bad. Cause I'm like, I literally feel uncomfortable watching bad because I'm like, I literally feel uncomfortable watching them. I'm like, God, this is the worst. Like, gosh, you guys get your shit together. So we've got this big study group. Andy's taking the studying seriously. That was my favorite part
Starting point is 00:48:02 when Andy goes hyper type A. She's like, all right, like Andy goes hyper type a she's like, all right Like delegating tasks out and everyone's like she's an empty house, dude. What the fuck are you doing? So she She does it in this episode and then she does it for the election episode I believe later on where she's talking to Joey and she's like Joey I have a hundred percent control over the situation right now. And every time she says that, you're like, this bitch is going to lose control real quick. Anytime somebody has to preface that they have 100% control of something, they don't. Bail.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Bail. And Andy gets, is so sick of Chris's shit by the end of it. Not one to study. Yeah. But he's a, did you, he's got the, he's got the sick ass fucking house that they're at. Um, and that's exactly the pace. He's like, dude, come on, like this guy's house rocks, even though he kind of sucks. Like we just need to enjoy this. Did you, did you have, uh, rich friends? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I just, you know, I, I, You have like this level of rich friends in what, yeah. I mean, I just, you know, I-
Starting point is 00:49:05 You have like this level of rich friends in Wayne, America. No, no one was like this level of rich in Wayne, no. I mean, I went to a fairly rich high school. I was not rich. I was the poor kid. But- Kelly did, right?
Starting point is 00:49:21 Evergreen? Oh yeah, Evergreen for sure. But I had, there was like two or three kids that we hung out with where their house was like this level of insane. And the same thing where like you'd go to their house and they'd be like, oh, do you need to borrow a brand new swimsuit? And you'd be like, oh, okay. None of them were like terrible people like this fucking asshole though. They were all nice. but yeah, families were just fucking loaded. No, we, um, so like, you know, big Mike gently refinished the basement with old furniture, old carpet scraps, you know, like it was built for like adolescent
Starting point is 00:49:58 kids to come hang. And so now that you mentioned a refurbished basement, we had one girl that we hung out with. She had a legit fucking movie theater in her basement. Oh, damn. It was cool as fuck. We just had my shitty old basement. Everyone always came over because we always had snacks and pop, you know, because my parents were great bargain shoppers.
Starting point is 00:50:20 And so it was, and then, and then there were some other houses, but like it was, it was always someone's it's Nebraska. So someone always, whoever's basement, we just rotate through basements and it'd be a pile of kids hanging out, watching movies until we got older. And then we would drive around, which was way more terrifying. We had the, we had the real, the rich girl who had the movie theater in her basement. We were hanging out with her and she, it was, it got kind of infuriating sometimes. Um, I mean,
Starting point is 00:50:52 I get it looking back now. Um, but we would all be hanging out, you know, and we'd be, you know, either we'd be, you know, either at like a, we'd be off doing something, um, not at anybody's house and it'd be getting, you know, getting late. We're like, Oh, what should we do? Maybe we should go, you know, just chill at somebody's house. Um, and she, you know, she wouldn't say anything. We'd, we'd have to like, look at her and be like, Hey, can we go hang out at your fucking mansion? Yeah. You know, instead of my, my unfinished dirty ass basement with my, my fucking weirdo family,
Starting point is 00:51:28 like let's go hang out in your movie theater basement where nobody's going to bother us. Um, so it was one of those things where you had to like, like, if I, like, if I had that house, I would be like, let's go to my house guys. Yeah. But she like never, she didn't like, you had to like pry it out of her. Be like, can we please go to your fucking mansion? That's, I didn't even have to ask at some points. Like it just, it got to the point where I would just be playing PlayStation
Starting point is 00:51:54 and I would hear a commotion and I'd hear my parents talking to someone about come son of a bitch, you know, Ryan's over here. And like, they're just, it'd be like four people. It's like, hey, what's up, rotor bikes over here. I'm like, oh, cool, hey, what's up? Rotor bikes over here. I'm like, oh cool. Hey, what's up gang? People just showed up.
Starting point is 00:52:08 That's cause you had a, you had a fairly normal family. Yeah, well that also helps like very- People would not just show up at my house because then they would have to talk to my dad. And that's a fucking, that's a whole mess. You don't want to, you don't want to, you don't want to open that can of worms if you don't have to. And other, like everyone's parents knew Mamadie ran a tight ship too, right? So they were like,
Starting point is 00:52:32 please, please spend your time at their house. Like there, there, nothing's getting past those two and nothing did right. Like we had to go elsewhere if we wanted to get in trouble. It was just, we're in a tight ship. But anyways, no, this, the All-Nighter, Brandon, it immediately breaks off into shenanigans, but we get into the favorite shtick of the late 90s, which is, because Dawson finds like that crazy letter, right?
Starting point is 00:53:03 And it's about the person losing their virginity. Isn't it? You're mixing up episodes. This is just a straight purity test. Oh, it's a period. Okay. This is the purity test episode I was getting that. And then the letter one is where the guy finds it on that.
Starting point is 00:53:19 Yep. Yep. Yep. I do this every time, but this is the purity test and they find it in the magazine when they're supposed to be studying and that's, they're looking for any excuse not to. It's the purity test from Jane magazine, which was a legit pure. It was a legit article in Jane magazine back then in 98, 97,
Starting point is 00:53:37 whenever they filmed this. Um, and Andy is doing it at lunch. Um, and her and her and Pacey have a whole thing and Pacey gets real weird cause he's like, fuck, I gotta, want to take that. I would, you know, I would be the least pure person who had ever taken that. And Andy was like, uh, okay, Mr. Bravado, you probably are embarrassingly pure. Yeah. Um, something like that. Yeah. I mean, I think that's, I think that's, I think that's, I think that's, I think
Starting point is 00:53:57 that's the biggest thing that I've ever heard. I mean, I think that's the biggest thing that I've ever heard. I mean, I think that's the biggest thing that I've ever heard. I mean, I think that's the biggest thing that I've ever heard. I mean, I think that's the biggest thing that I've ever heard. I mean, I think that's the biggest thing that I've ever heard. I mean, I think that's the biggest thing that I've ever heard. I mean, I think that's the biggest thing that I've Andy was like, uh, okay, Mr. Bravado, you probably are embarrassingly pure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:08 Um, something like that. But so, so she's taking it at lunch and then she brings that with her on to the study thing. And that's when Chris, she's like, she like opens her binder or whatever. And Chris sees it and he's like, Oh, what do we got here? That's right. Cause they're looking for any excuse to do anything besides study. Yes.
Starting point is 00:54:24 And then they all do the purity test and he, Heath, me and you did a purity test. We did not do the same one. I could not find the actual Jane Magazine purity test. It's lost to the ethers of time. But I did find, apparently the University of Rice, their newspaper years and years ago, I did find, apparently, the University of Rice, their newspaper years and years ago, released their own purity test and it's online. Anybody can take it. So, me and you took it, Heath, to see how we would stack up. And now, I originally took it, and I think you did too, I originally took it as of today, as myself as an 85-year-old man.
Starting point is 00:55:03 I answered it as that. And then looking back, I was like, shit, I probably should have answered it as if I was the 16 year old because they're all 16. So the scores would be more comparable. Yeah. Cause we started going through this and I was kind of like, well this, you know, I've lived a lot of life. They do. This one is, it's the best one I could find. And a lot of the questions that they like cycle through in the montage are on this one.
Starting point is 00:55:31 So I think it's nice. Very comfortable. I did get to skip the whole sections about like getting arrested or getting like the all the like trouble ones. I got to just scroll right on past, you know what I mean? But you never got questioned about, you never got questioned by Wayne America police. No, they knew me. Yeah. They could still question you, you know? Yeah. But I would always like, did you ever have a conversation with the police? He's no,
Starting point is 00:56:00 I had a knack for like doing the Homer Simpson disappearing into the bushes right before Trouble found the party. I, dude, I'm not kidding. I had a knack for leaving the party before it got, like I could, like I could, it's like I could smell it in the air. It was like, this has gotten too far. And I would just, and it was Wayne, so you could walk anywhere and feel beyond incredibly safe. And it was Wayne, so you could walk anywhere and feel beyond incredibly safe. I got to just stop in, you know, on a sidewalk if I needed to do a pit stop, because I was too blacked out to make it home without falling over too much. And, you know, like it wasn't a big deal. And so that's usually like literally, I can't even tell you the amount of times where I just be like me, like parked on a curb, you know, like, oh, shit,
Starting point is 00:56:41 the cops just came to the party. Now, unbelievable. I answered no to those ones. And I, I had a little bit of a dilemma. I said no, because the only time I've ever been quote unquote questioned by police was I was in grand junction visiting friends on Halloween. Um, and I was, was I 21? I might've just been 19 or 20. Um, I was visiting, uh, some friends at the, at Colorado Mesa University, uh, for Halloween. I was dressed up like a penguin and I ended up jumping into the wrong, the back of the wrong pickup truck.
Starting point is 00:57:25 And they took me to a different party on the opposite side of town. And I went into that house party. Everybody gave me free shots because I was dressed like a penguin. And then I went to the bathroom and then I came back out and I don't know if they forgot that they already saw me, but they were like, oh, penguin guy. And they gave me more shots And then I proceeded to walk into the front yard Throw up and then turn around and there were two cops cops right there and they were like you okay, and I was like, um
Starting point is 00:57:57 Yeah, I'm solid dude. So I'm good now And they were like And they were like, uh, I was, and you know, they were, they asked me a couple of questions. I was like, I don't even go here, dude. I'm just visiting friends. Um, and they were like, do you know, uh, and I was like, I'm visiting friends. I, they're not at this party though. I don't know where they are. I lost them.
Starting point is 00:58:19 And he was like, well, do you know, like what dorm they're at? We can like get you in the right point, you in the right direction. And I was like, oh yeah, they're at, we can like get you in the right point you in the right direction. And I was like, Oh yeah, they're at this dorm. And the cop come looked at me and he started laughing and he goes, Oh, that's right there. And he pointed across the street. I was like, Oh, so then they just let me walk across the street to the dorm. And I was like, so incredible in my, in my white privilege, I don't think that was being questioned by cops But that one I was like maybe kind of a little but I answered no. Yeah Anyway, anyways, he's what what did you score as you say yours first?
Starting point is 00:58:55 Cuz do you which one do you want? Do you want my 45 year old man answer? Yeah. Yeah 50 year old guy 50 50 year old degenerate 50 year old degenerate. Fifty five year old Brandon got a 32. Thirty two twins. Did you get a 32? Yeah. Now for everybody, the way the scoring works is the low. The staff I was like. Anyways, it didn't matter. The lower the score, the less pure you are.
Starting point is 00:59:24 And it's like a percentage. So like the, the purity test we did was a hundred questions. So it's a real easy, uh, percentage, but the lower the score, the more you've done, the less pure you are. Yeah. So I got a 30 as a 85 year old man, I got a 32%. Yeah. Um, when I retook it from the perspective of me being 16 years old, I got a 71% ease. Like thinking about the questions and how it was scored and thinking about how naive and inexperienced I was, like not inexperienced, but just like, you know, there was just wasn't a lot going on in, in Wayne, you know? And so I'd probably be like an 80.
Starting point is 01:00:09 An 80. Yeah. I would think, I would think less going on the, the, the more you would be fooling around, right? No. Cause I got in trouble when I was 15 and it put the fear of God in me. Um, cause my parents really, I never like got in trouble with anyone. I just, you know, allegedly,
Starting point is 01:00:34 I was really drunk at a dance when I was like 14 or 15, and they had asked me to leave allegedly. And I scooched home quick and disappeared into my bed before anything came of it. Okay, well, that's... But that scared you from making out with people? No, not making out, that's not the stuff. I meant like making out.
Starting point is 01:01:04 The cop thing's like making out. The cop things like five questions. No, I mean like, like, no, but there's like the, the like doing drugs and like all that kind of stuff. Altogether, altogether, it's like 10 questions, like 10%. Yeah. Plus the cop ones. And I would, I would figure small town, everybody would be just be French kissing everybody. Yeah. I mean, I probably like 75. I Everybody would be just be French kissing everybody.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Yeah. I mean, I probably like 75, I don't know. I guess I'd have to look back at the questions. I thought there was more of like, you're doing bad stuff. No, it's like, it's like five questions of cops, five questions of drugs. And then the way the rest is like, um, did you kiss your mom in the shower? You know, what's wrong with you, Brandon? Hey, that was one of the questions they, um, I did. And once again, Dawson's Creek, they're always going to go there too.
Starting point is 01:01:53 It was like, what, what a, what, like, what a great ins cause like, you did that ever happen with like, cause like I grew up in the 90s, right? And so like teen magazine and stuff, like sometimes there's like a group of four or five boys, group of four or five girls, and you bust out the teen Vogue and you're doing the hundred question thing and it just leads to chaos exactly like this. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. It's classic stuff. I loved it. I loved this episode. So you're- Poor, poor Jen though. I don't know how it feels. Hold on, hold on. Yeah. Yeah. It's classic stuff. I loved it. I love this episode. So, um, poor, poor Jen, though. I don't know how. Hold on. Hold on. Sorry. Hold on. We're talking about our scores. I'm getting. Yeah, you're, you're, you're moving on to the boring shit.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Um, the boring shit. It's fun. Nobody cares about Jen. Okay. Oh, I feel bad for Jen. She's going through it, man. going through it, man. Why do you feel member in this episode? This is, well, I mean, this is like what it's like the, the pebble that starts the avalanche of bad Jen. No, that was, that was fucking five episodes ago. I know, but it just, I feel like this is, this is her least problematic episode. I would imagine. Well, no, but like this is where Chris isn't even worse influence somehow on her than Abby. That is not true. What dude? She's getting blackout drunk with Chris constantly. Well that's two that's like two episodes
Starting point is 01:03:17 later when she gets blackout drunk. They made it. This episode is like the least problematic though. She's just they they're having a couple of glasses of wine. Everything, everything was above board. Um, but that's how I said, like this episode, I've made me feel sad because it gets worse and she just, she, cause they make it, they allude to like it not being the first time that she's so drunk that she's crashing at Dawson's and she just crashes there to avoid grams. You're mixing your up. That's not this episode.
Starting point is 01:03:49 I know it's a later episode. I'm saying this episode, I feel bad for her already because I know what's happening. It's like the drop that starts it, Brandon. And I'm saying the drop that started it was eight episodes ago. This is the plateau. This is the plateau. This is the bottom of the belter. Chris, Chris, like, like once she meets Chris, it amps up even more from Abby. I mean, they've gone to the same school.
Starting point is 01:04:16 She's known Chris. But I'm saying it ramps up even more because she starts hanging out with him and partying more. Brandon, she goes from Jen to the party girl. Jen, you don't think she was the party girl Jen when she was roaming the docs. Not as bad. Yeah. Abby is way worse.
Starting point is 01:04:36 I'm just saying if you think Abby is more wholesome than Chris, you're saying that wasn't the debate. I'm saying Jen got even worse when she met Chris, cause she started partying hard. Abby was a psycho. You said he was a worse influence. Abby was way worse. Abby was trying to get her to fuck a fisherman.
Starting point is 01:04:56 Actually she was, Abby was trying to fuck the fisherman herself and then Jen stole her. Chris got her blacked out and was gonna do a devil's threesome with her when she was puking blackout drunk again, not this episode. I'm just saying, I'm just saying in the future, you can't that's revisionist history. You can't be doing that.
Starting point is 01:05:17 Uh, Brandon, whatever. I'm just saying you're not, you're not picking up what I'm putting down. You're arguing with me about it for no reason. You're you're looking back at things with 20, 20 vision. Yeah. Captain Hindsight, like from South Park. Yeah. And you're acting like you're so smart for realizing this. When everybody, everybody, everybody knows. I said I feel bad for Jen.
Starting point is 01:05:38 I'm saying this is where I start feeling bad for Jen. You asked me why I felt bad for Jen. Yeah, why are you feeling- I do feel bad for Jen. She's having a hard time. She's not processing her emotions well. You only feel bad looking back though. You shouldn't. I felt bad when I was happening too.
Starting point is 01:05:57 Unbelievable. You're unbelievable. I can't believe you said Abby was a good influence. I did. My God. You are misconstruing that. I said it got even worse with Chris. I don't think it got worse. I think it was pretty, pretty, pretty consistently bad. All right.
Starting point is 01:06:14 I'm just saying it to me and my interpretation of these episodes is after Jen met Chris, it got even worse. I would say, I would say it was already, more destructive. No, I, I would say it's, it got even worse. I would say, I would say it was already more destructive. No, I, I would say it, it stayed consistent and plateau. Abby was Abby's the driving force. Abby's the worst influence ever. All right, we'll see. Cause Abby, Abby is the one who pushes Abby's pushes her into it.
Starting point is 01:06:44 That's the pebble that starts everything is Abby. Okay, I guess you're right. And then Chris is the finishing touch. Yeah, he's just the douchebag who takes advantage of women. Either way, I feel bad for Jen. She got a lot going on. Anyway, we were talking scores before you started feeling bad for Jen.
Starting point is 01:07:04 You should feel bad for Jen, even though you shouldn't feel bad for that haircut. Son of a gun. It just it's real bad. It's hard. I forget what episode it was, but I would say it's the when they're when they're doing the movie auditions and Jen is like, what, uh, what did you like about me? Dawson? And he goes, you were sexy. And she says, were, and he cracks real quick. He goes, he says, are you are sexy. But I was about to be like, yeah, you were that haircut ruined it.
Starting point is 01:07:38 Haircut ruined everything. Anyway, scores. Heath. So you, you were saying you, you, you, uh, predicted predicted yourself 80% right 80% of the 16 year old. Okay, I got a 71 Everybody else so Chris is the least peer. He got a 66% Jen got a 69% and they snickered. Yeah, love that. I actually did. I was like, cat that just knows it stretches all decades. You know, is it, is it Pacey that when they're doing the montage of asking the questions, I think Pacey gets 69. And I'm pretty sure that that 69 was the same as our 69, which was
Starting point is 01:08:17 just a question mark. Like, did you have you done 69? Yeah. Um, and Pacey, Pacey goes 69. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Um, but so Jen, Jen, Jen, 69% Joey Dawson, uh, tied 85% and then Andy, uh, miss, uh, uh, white dress, pure lady over here, 92%. That's wild. That means, yeah, that's insane. There's even held hands barely. That's wild. That means, yeah, that's insane. That's even held hands, barely. That's probably all, that's probably all she said yesterday was holding hands. Yeah. Yeah. But, oh my god, no wonder she loves Pacy, I guess, right? Yeah. Send that. Me and you, me, well, they don't ever actually say what Pacy's score was because when they, when she asks him to turn in
Starting point is 01:09:02 the sheet, he won't, he won't. And then that's when they, that's when Chris is like, Oh, did you, uh, did you bang miss, miss Jacobs, right? Jacobs to marriage? Yep. Miss Jacobs. And then we have that whole fallout. But, but so me and you, Heath, um, as 85 year old men would have been, uh, the least pure, we would have been degenerates compared to these guys. We pretty much doubled Chris. That's insane. But as 16 year olds, we're right in the middle, right in the middle of the pack. Yeah, we're kind of right where they were. But yeah, so the purity test is wild. And then we get the, we finally get the reveal that Pay, that Andy finds out that Pacey was,
Starting point is 01:09:48 was banging the teacher. Yeah. Which she does not take well. As I mean, that would, I mean, right? Like I feel like that would be hard for a 16 year old girl to process that like, to have someone that like she really likes and she scored a 92 on the purity test. And it's like, yes, I did in fact get statutory raped by our
Starting point is 01:10:15 former English teacher. Like that's a lot to process for a teenage girl. Especially because at this point in time in the late nineties, uh, and even now, a lot of people are not viewing that as statutory rape. Well, dude, and you know, what's ironic is I taking advantage of and sexually assaulted does not get, does not, it doesn't get the weight that it deserves. I just watched this, like the sound, cause like when I, um, sometimes when I am playing FIFA, I'll just throw like a TV show on like the, my laptop or whatever, like on my side screen. Um, and I've been really having a good time with South park playing in the background.
Starting point is 01:10:57 And it was the episode with Ike in the teacher. And I was like, my God, this is so fitting. Do you remember that episode? And like all the, all like Kyle tries to report. And he's like, wait, so you're telling me it's a female teacher, so she must be ugly, right? He's like, no, he's like, wait, she's hot. Nice. Yeah. Like I was like, I was like, oh my God,
Starting point is 01:11:20 this is very fitting episode, but like they joke about it in South park where like they make it obnoxious where it's like, oh my God, this is very fitting episode. But like they joke about it in South park where like they make it obnoxious where it's like, Oh my God, it's a man. It's like, no, it's a woman. Oh, she must be incredibly ugly then. Huh? It's like, no, she's, she's hot. It's like, Oh, so what's the crime?
Starting point is 01:11:39 Yeah. That's, that's the joke. Yeah. Anyway, yeah. See, yeah. Uh, so yeah, that, that mindset was very Andy. I don't think is taking into the taking into account that he was taking advantage of. Yes. She's making it seem like it was almost like his idea, which I guess technically it kind of was, but she kind of lured him into it with her comments. was, but she kind of lured him into it with her comments.
Starting point is 01:12:09 When you're, when you're 40 and they're 16. Yeah, of course, of course it's going to be his idea. Yeah. Why would he not have that idea? He's a 16 year old boy. That's true. You gotta nip, you gotta nip that shit in the butt as the adult. Yeah. Well, and then she, um, yeah, it's just that it's wild. That yeah, she gets very upset. When Dawson gets upset because he thinks Joey has fallen in love with more than one person than him. First of all, that's an, if to, to write, you fell in love twice. Once as a friend, once as a lover, is an insane answer.
Starting point is 01:12:48 That is an insane answer. That is someone who does need some therapy, I feel like. It's confusing the question, but... It's either confusion in the question or it's begging to, you know, it's begging for a blow up. For a response, knowing that Dawson is going to handle it the way that Dawson Handles all these types of romantic things. He's gonna be the worst. He's gonna break in and read everybody's answers Just like you did with the dot. Yeah, like it's Yeah, saying you fell in love twice is an insane an insane answer when you're just talking about the one person
Starting point is 01:13:23 insane, an insane answer when you're just talking about the one person. Yeah. And then Dawson, I mean, Jen does kind of put, I do feel bad for Jen, but she does put him in Dawson in his place where she's like, dude, fuck off. I don't need you to babysit me at this point in time at this juncture. Yes. She has a great response. Uh, when, um, when Dawson or when, when Jen's going to get ready to go to the hot tub and he's like, I don't think Chris has the best of intentions in mind.
Starting point is 01:13:52 No shit. Yeah. And she's like, yeah, I know. But just because idiot. Yeah. Just because he wants to just because he wants to sleep with me doesn't mean he gets to. Yeah. You know, and maybe I have the bad intentions.
Starting point is 01:14:03 I thought that was, yeah, yeah. I have the bad intentions. I thought that was yeah. Yeah Got him, you know, I never um, you know, yeah, dude, that's I when she said it's like way be it Maybe I've got a plan of my own or however. She phrased it. I was like, oh Yeah, put him in his place being the little bitch Dawson God Dawson's the worst buddy he it, it's, it's almost unbelievable, but I know that, so it's the way he behaves towards women is all is so it's like, it's almost unbelievable. But then I know for a fact there's 13 million guys that behave the same exact way. And it's insane. It boggles my mind.
Starting point is 01:14:53 It's scary. And I'm not even a woman. And it's terrifying. It's not, he's not like physically dangerous. But he does, he's not like physically dangerous, but he does, he does not, he is so wrapped up in like a movie style life. Yeah. He does not treat women like people.
Starting point is 01:15:13 He, yeah, he treats everyone like characters in a movie or a TV show, which is terrible because it creates like the lack of empathy because you're not treating them as people. There's, there's no empathy there. You're treating them as characters. They're plot devices. It's what they are. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:15:33 Yeah. It's insane. And then later on, when he, when he get, when they get the, the money to make the, uh, a new movie or whatever. Yeah. And he makes a movie about the last five months of his life. The ego. I, we can talk about that when we get to that. I hate it. It's not even good.
Starting point is 01:15:49 I, I, it's not even like a memoir of like what you did when you were like, like years ago, it's literally what happened to him five months ago. It was terrible. But this, this episode, they wake, they, they all fall asleep basically, like they all crashed and fall asleep and they wake up in the morning and they do some like last minute cramming before they go in. We see, we see Jen and Chris. Jen and Chris did have sex. Yep. They did. They did hook up. Um, the, the team crams,
Starting point is 01:16:21 Pacey leads it and Andy's like, Oh my gosh, he has some drive in him. I'm falling in love. And then they get there. And I wanted to see what your thought was with this where their teacher was like, sometimes the preparation is as much as the test and they didn't actually have the exam. I figured that was something that you would hate.
Starting point is 01:16:42 I mean, it goes back to, it did not shock me at all because it's a move. Obviously it was a calculated move. He didn't get sick. He did this on purpose. Everything was calculated. It's the same exact behavior you would expect from somebody who did what he did
Starting point is 01:17:03 in the beginning of the episode. When he's like, it's, pretentious ass monologue he gives. And he's, you know, 50% of your grade. It's just classic, classic English teacher nonsense, dude. Well, I've got good. Are you ready to go on to the next episode soon? Because it is, it is going to talk about your, this is going to be your favorite plot device where Dawson is the reluctant hero, Brandon. Um, the reluctant hero.
Starting point is 01:17:39 Yeah. That's what the, that's what the episode's called. Isn't it? That's what I have. Oh, it is the reluctant. Is he the reluctant here? What happens in this one again? Yeah, that's what the that's what the episodes called, isn't it? That's what I have. Oh, it is. Is he the reluctant here? What happens in this one again?
Starting point is 01:17:50 This is where this is the movie, right? This is the auditions, right? Yeah, he finds he he finds. That the that dogshit movie they made at the beginning of season one, somehow won an award. Um, this is where, um, hold on, where, where am I? Oh, that's right. This is where, um, Andy's mom is in the grocery store and they get called into the grocery store. Do you remember that part? And like, Pacey kind of like helps talk her down because, um, and he's like, oh, maybe you could make me a sandwich.
Starting point is 01:18:39 He's like, yeah, I'll make a sandwich. And like, do you remember that part? Is that this one or is that the next one? I thought that was this one. Cause it's the reluctant hero. Cause the next episode is the election. And then episode 10 is where they get the new film project. And then episode 11 is in the shadows. Okay. Hey, I can't remember Yeah, okay, yeah, this is the movie one
Starting point is 01:19:16 the whole mom thing with Pacey that was Hard to watch. Why do you say that? She's having a breakdown in the middle of a store. That's you know I thought that um, Pacey did a really good job of like collecting the mom and helping Andy out in that moment. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, he does a good job, but that was that was a hard scene to watch. like collecting the mom and helping Andy out in that moment. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He does a great job, but that was, that was a hard scene to watch. Um, that was really tough. And especially like when Andy came in and the lady was like, Hey, this is the third time. Like if this doesn't stop, we're going to have to, you know, do something about it.
Starting point is 01:20:03 Which is too bad. Yeah. Um, but like, like we mentioned, going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater. And then he's like, I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm
Starting point is 01:20:17 going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to the movie theater and I'm going to go to right. And he goes up to Joey cause Joey was the star and the producer. Um, and he, he offered, I think he offers to give her a half, right? Something like that. And she said she just needs to separate. Yeah. She turns down the money and then, and then he's like,
Starting point is 01:20:41 yeah, cause he's like, okay, well we need to make the next one. She's like, I can't do that right now. I've got too much going on. Yep. Um, she's getting into the art. Dawson needed a producer, which is right. Like that's too bad. He needed Joey to kind of help check some of his terrible ideas. Well, I mean, he, he hires Jen and Jen does a pretty good job of them.
Starting point is 01:20:59 She does do a good job. I love, I love how, I love how she's a, so yeah, he gets her to do it and she's like, uh, she's like passing out flyers, um, for people to come audition. Yeah. And Dawson's like, you're so, you're so good at this. It's amazing. You're such a good producer. It's like she's passing out flyers. You fucking weirdo. I, um. It.
Starting point is 01:21:31 I can't believe I love that he won, you know, shout out Dawson. You know, what a producer he's an ex Spielberg branded, you know, Dawson. Is it it's Dawson Leary, right? OK, I keep saying, oh Leary on accident. I keep making him Irish on accident. He's not Irish. Yeah. He doesn't, don't give him that compliment.
Starting point is 01:21:50 So, it's just, and this, speaking of Dawson, this is where, oh, I, this is where his dad gets the bachelor pad, right? And he tries to like, he tries to grow up with Dawson. This is when we get blackout Jen, cause they go to the party. Yes. Yes. And this is where, yeah, he's the reluctant hero. He gets his dad tries to be his friend and that really frustrates him. He was the reluctant hero, but I guess he was, I guess he was the hero.
Starting point is 01:22:25 Um, he did take Jen home so she didn't get in trouble. Yeah. But he was the way he did it was so condescending. Well, it's Dawson, right? So like it makes sense that he did it in the most condescending and pretentious way possible, you know? Like I guess at the end of the day, he did the right thing, but he did it. He did it the wrong way. I, I did actually really appreciate him.
Starting point is 01:22:50 Like kind of checking his dad a little bit where he was like, you know, I, I don't need you to be my buddy. You can just be my dad. I have friends, you know, I don't need another one. His dad wasn't even trying to be his friend though. That, that came out of left field to me because his dad was just me. Cause his dad was just trying to talk to him. I felt like his dad was trying to buddy him up a little bit. Well yeah, cause that's the only way you can get the motherfucker to talk to you. Well that's true.
Starting point is 01:23:17 Dawson is a bit dramatic. He tried talking to him as a dad and Dawson just kept being like, remember when you ruined my life, uh, when you're, you ruined my life by your wife cheating on you. Remember that? And it's like, God Dawson, he should cut his down a little bit more slack for, for that part, I guess. But, um, but yeah. And then Joey and Jack went on their dad, right? Like,
Starting point is 01:23:44 the, the not quite a date. What did they do again? I forget. They went... Oh, where did they go? It was because it was the semi-date. I can't remember now what they did for their semi-date. They go...
Starting point is 01:24:03 And because he like opens up to her a little bit, right? Kind of. They do like a picnic, right? Something like that. Yeah. Because like Jack talks with her about having a hard time opening up, right? Like when they're like sitting and chit chatting. And how he has a hard time opening up, right? Like when they're like sitting in chit chatting, and how he has a hard time like saying his feelings. I think that's when he's saying it in this. Yeah. I, yeah, that's, I think that's this episode in the next two, I believe. I mean, that's it. It does. This is the beginning of the theme of Jack having a hard time opening
Starting point is 01:24:40 up to people. But yeah, they, they go, they go on their first, they go on the debt. Um, and yeah, I mean, there's nothing really to write home that they do like that little, I guess it's a really a picnic, but they're like sitting on the lawn. Um, yeah, just, you know, chit chatting. Yeah. Um, yeah, I kind of, it's, this episode was kind of the lull of the, it was kind of like everyone gearing up for their next love interest almost. Or like the next pursuit. It was kind of like, it was like, like everyone was feeling a drift from, from the pack. Like, you know, Dawson was drifting off into stuff, you know, divorce kid land world where he's dealing with that.
Starting point is 01:25:27 Jen was drifting off into party girl world. Joey drifting off into a new relationship, refinding myself. Pacey drifting over into another new relationship, trying to find himself after like, how do I love after my first love was, it was an adult, you know, like that's a lot to move on from, from a young man too, you know, thinking about that. Yeah. So that's, that's my thoughts there. Everyone is adrift.
Starting point is 01:25:54 Yep. It's a, it's a good little transition episode to, uh, the election. Because my gosh, it really picks up. And I love how like, you know, like Joey and Andy team up because, um, Abby create creates the team because she is a psycho. She's insane in this episode. It is unbelievable. Like the, just the, like, just the, the wild like
Starting point is 01:26:33 Unfiltered the wild disregard for everyone else around her. It's the yeah the wild insecurity That she must feel To where she has she has to anytime anything Shows a glimmer of light. She has to fucking put it out. And that's, that's what she, cause she over here is, um, cause Andy's trying to get Joey, Andy's running for, for school president. She needs, she needs a VP. She goes to Joey and she's like, Joey will you be my VP? And Joey's like, that's a dumb idea. Everybody hates me cause my dad's in jail. You're going to lose. I would pick someone people like.
Starting point is 01:27:07 And so then, so Andy is like, okay, fine. I'll try to find somebody else. And then, Jack and Joey are at the, the ice house. Cause they worked there. And Jack and Abby and Chris, who are also running are there to Abby says, we're coming here to talk strategy because it's, it's so deserted. Nobody will overhear us. But so then she hears, she overhears some quiet focus and that's so she just starts off guns a blazing. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:39 Taking shots. But so she overhears Jack being like Joey, you can't let those people run our school. You should be the VP or whatever. And just the mirror, the mere thought of Joey thinking about doing it. She Abby jumps up and she goes over to Joey and she's like, if you even, if you decide to run for VP, I'm going to ruin your fucking life. Uh, I'm going to make sure you end up in jail. Just like you, you're deadbeat dad.
Starting point is 01:28:05 She just like any insult that she can fucking throw at her. I've read exactly what she says. She, she goes right after, like, this is going to be the most toxic campaign than the history of the world. Like Abby just, to be fair, she, she was very clear with what she was going to do though. You know, like she was, and, and Andy was there and should have heard it cause Pacey tried, like Pacey tried to fight fire with fire, but Andy did not, Andy wanted to take that high road, but she, she was there. She heard Abby's threats, right? Or no, Andy wasn't there at that time. Jack was there. But maybe Jack didn't relay, but my God. Do you think that Andy was correct in
Starting point is 01:28:50 taking the high road or do you think she should have listened to Pacey who read the Clinton campaign book, he said, right? And he was, do you remember? Right? Wasn't that what he said? And like he read how to like run a dirty campaign. I thought that was a really funny shot. I thought that was really funny shot. I thought that was an incredible, like very subtle shot. And, but like she turns him down. Do you think she was right and taking the high road? Or do you think she should have like put,
Starting point is 01:29:16 cause then Abby, cause technically she won by taking the high road. Cause Abby went too low. Like there is a too low of a road. I mean she didn't want any doesn't win. She doesn't become president. Oh, she just got the moral victory. What who became president? I thought that she ran out the nerd guys. That's right. That's right. I think she pulls out after she was in the right of taking the high ground because Abby would have sunk herself for sure.
Starting point is 01:29:54 Even without the little stunt Pacey polls to broadcast the thing, she was so vicious. Yeah. And her, um, Andy taking the high road would have worked if she could have been, um, if she could have weathered the storm better emotionally. Yes. Her crying and running out of the, uh, the, uh, the gym while completely understandable. Yeah. Lost some points. Yeah. Lost some points. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:26 Lost the points there. But the fact that Abby lied, well, like she didn't lie, I guess, but like stretch the truth and said that like Andy's mom killed her brother. I didn't say killed. She said was responsible for the death, which technically is right. Yeah, technically. But, dude, I could not. It's not it's not it's not slander if it's true.
Starting point is 01:30:56 Brandon, but that's one of those like I I was like, oh, yeah. She went there and the fact that I could not believe the fact that none of our school administration or teachers are stopping her. I did not believe they let her just go scorched earth without interrupting their fault. That was the adults fault. The one dude in the room. The one dude interrupts her like halfway through,
Starting point is 01:31:28 but then continues to let her talk. Yeah, it's wild. Oh my God. She brings up, she brings up, it's in the debates in front of everybody at the gym. In the gym, she brings up Joey's incarcerated father and then Andy's crazy mother who's taking pills and she says she's one shock treatment away from the loony bin and then she brings up the fact that she's... I could not believe she said that too.
Starting point is 01:32:06 Yeah, and then she brings up the fact that, or she brings up the thing about the mom being responsible for her first... which is so just... That was hard to watch too. That was... That was hard to watch too. That was crazy. But like I said, it's the beauty of Dawson's Creek. They just, they're gonna go there. They're gonna take it. Abby is so, she was, I mean, she was terrible
Starting point is 01:32:37 in all of the previous episodes as well. But this little stretch was just, she got some, she needs to get punched in the fucking face. That is, this is the behavior of someone who has had no accountability in their entire life. She mentions in the, in the last batch, I think it was the, the full moon episode, uh, when they're, they're roaming the docs. She mentioned her parents are divorced and she gets, so now she gets two allowances to two shopping money allowances, uh, because her parents are divorced. So yeah,
Starting point is 01:33:16 she's a spoiled rotten kid who needs to get punched in the fucking face. Uh, yeah. Oh my God. I just, the election was wild, but I will say Chris and Abby are diabolical pairing. It's kind of great. Joey does it. Joey at the ice house when, uh, Abby's trying to like warn her. She does dump the water pitcher on her. Fantastic.
Starting point is 01:33:43 It was great, but we need, we needed more. You needed to beat the fucking shit out of her. Is what you need to do. The ice picture only fan the flames, even though you think it would be the opposite. You know, um, it just fan the flames of, of Abby, but the, the one thing that we did, uh, I don't know if we mentioned it, but Dawson stumbles upon the divorce papers and he, um, gets real sad boy. And then that's where it doesn't stumble upon them.
Starting point is 01:34:12 We see the divorce papers, right? During this episode, like he knows he it's getting worse with his dad moving out, but he's like, he's in denial. And then when he sees the divorce papers, the denial is broken and he's like, Oh no, I feel like he was in denial. I don't think you know how to read Dawson. So he's not in denial. But so during this episode, what happens is during this episode, he walked because so his mom's dishwasher. So the dad comes over to fix it. There's a whole wet t-shirt thing him and the dad and mom start fooling around again in the
Starting point is 01:34:55 In the the description on the the wiki page I have here. Um, it says a plumbing emergency leads, uh to the couple Rekindling their uh furniture fetish because they're fucking on the tables again. But so Dawson walks in on that and that's when he's like, that's when he's like, oh, maybe maybe they're turning this around now. Maybe this will get better. But then the next day he goes home and his mom's like, his mom shows him the divorce papers. His mom's like, well, here's the divorce papers. Your dad just gave me. Um,
Starting point is 01:35:29 so that's right. That's right. Yeah. It anyways, it's, it was another just fantastic episode though. But so that election was. So after the debate, so, so Abby goes hard during the debate, real scorched earth. Then after the debate, they have one last pitch before voting where all three of the there's two nerds that are also running. They're the third candidates. And so all three of them are, they have one last pitch over the intercom before voting to like do their thing. Um, and Abby goes scorched earth again, just bad mouthing, um, uh, Andy and
Starting point is 01:36:12 Joey, and then Andy tries to get on the mic to give her speech and she can't do it. So she runs away and then Pacey pulls the old switcheroo, uh, flicks the intercom on without Abby knowing, and then it gets Abby to, and I'm, we were talking about this off, uh, offline. Abby says something, cause she's Joey's like, uh, or Pacey's like, you know, why, cause she's running as VP to Chris and she's, and he's like, why are you doing, why are you running behind Chris? You're the mastermind, you're those brains. And Abby's like, it's all part of my plan. I'll overthrow him. It'll be fine.
Starting point is 01:36:51 No worries. You guys are all fucking dummies. You can't stop me. You little fucking dumb-dums. You're so stupid. You're dumb. And then she says something along the lines of getting to the top. I really need to look up the exact quote, but it's something along the lines of getting ahead in life and getting to the top is so much better when you can step on people to do it. Yes. Which is unlike, unbelievable. So Pacey broadcasts that over the intercoms for everybody to hear. And then he's like, Oh, Abby, awesome. I'm so stupid. I didn't even realize you were on, we were online.
Starting point is 01:37:29 Everybody could hear us. And then that's when, when he's walking out, he high fives the nerds and he's like the schools all year is guys. So they, they, they won the election. That's right. I forgot about the, that little high five with the nerds. Yeah. But yeah, Abby fucking,
Starting point is 01:37:47 you know, she, she's her own worst enemy. She really does. She really does deserve, she needs to be punched in the, she needs the shit kicked out of her. But all right. The next two episodes Brandon are also just, I don't even know where to begin. You know, we got high risk behavior, high risk. This is the episode where everybody fucks each other.
Starting point is 01:38:18 Yeah. The, and the, the nude model Titanic, you paint me like one of your French girls. We got to gotta talk about this. The picture, the picture. We gotta talk about this. The picture, come on, dude. And like the nipples being really far apart. Do you notice that? We gotta talk about this. That picture of him was the most, like it was just so bad.
Starting point is 01:38:41 And like the way his legs were crossed so she didn't have to draw his penis was incredible. It was just incredible. The, and like the fact they made the Titanic joke. Oh my God. It just, and, and I, you knew they, someone was going to find it as soon as the picture came up, right? I just, that whole story arc for this episode was gold. Like it was just, once again, it was like, you know what we need? You know what Dawson's Creek season two needs? It needs a Titanic-esque.
Starting point is 01:39:20 So paint me like one of your French girls story arc. It's just, God, they did it again, you know? Danny, so, yeah. I need some clarification, okay? I don't know if I can bring it to you, but. She's taking art classes outside of school, right? Yeah, which she's 16 and there's a naked grown man. Okay, so that makes me feel a little bit better
Starting point is 01:39:43 because I'm assuming it's an adult art class. And I'm also assuming they don't know she's underage and it's illegal what she's doing. Well, the art teacher is that one girl, right? Is it still the same one, the same, the mentor she had last time? Yeah, you know, Brandon, I never thought about it. Like, this is inappropriate that she-
Starting point is 01:40:04 That was my thing. It's like, who is assigning a naked model to a 16 year old? In my mind, I was, I, at first I thought it was like a class of 16 year olds, like for like, it was an art class for the school. And I was like, what fucking school is doing this? Where we got a nude fucking thing. Like I would get like in college, you're taking a college art class. Okay, fine. But 16 years old. So yeah, she must've been doing outside adult art classes. Yeah. And yeah, it was probably a different teacher. He didn't know she was 16, but I, you know,
Starting point is 01:40:34 yeah, cause that was my first, I was like, who assigned this to her? Yeah. Like this, that was, I'm sure even with an adult film or an adult art class, because she, she loses the first one, right? Yeah. Yeah. Cause Jack spills the drink on the first one. And that's, and that's why he volunteers. That's right. So I'm positive. Even if it's an adult art class, if you went to your teacher for an adult art class and was like, Hey, If you went to your teacher for an adult art class and was like, Hey, here's my picture of the nude model.
Starting point is 01:41:08 It got, I spilt on it. My bad. You know, um, I guarantee you that teacher would not be like, you have to find somebody outside of class that will go, that will be nude for you to draw them. That they're not going to, that would be insane to force somebody to fund. So like, no, but it's, I can understand. Like she probably was like panicked and didn't want to have to go to the next art class with nothing and be like, Hey, teachers, sorry. And then him, him volunteering himself is unlike, and then he wouldn't, he wouldn't let it go.
Starting point is 01:41:44 They were multiple outs. She was like, no, it's fine. And he was like, no, we're doing this. And when she bumped over the canvas and it knocked his towel down, I laughed. Did you hear what he says after that? He goes, well, we might as well do it now. You already saw. Yeah. Fuck you. And the part where he gets the boner. Well, there's so many like weird little, uh, like innuendo stuff.
Starting point is 01:42:15 My God. He says throughout that whole day, like there's one where she's like, she's, she's like, maybe we shouldn't do this. This whole episode is very unhinged though, right? Like for a teenage drama, like it's, once again, they did not pull any punches on this episode. We have Pacey literally renting a room from a bed and breakfast to hook up a handy. That's a classy move.
Starting point is 01:42:41 I've done that. I've pulled that move before. At 16? Maybe 18, 17, 18. I don't know about 16. You leave home. I don't know. Usually you're at home, I feel like, with that move. I don't know. We had families, man. You got to get out. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Definitely not 16. At 18, though, I definitely pulled the B&B move, though.
Starting point is 01:43:03 Yeah, definitely. Definitely. Definitely not 16 at 18, though. I definitely pulled the B and B move though. Yeah. Cause I was, I was still living at home. Um, that, that, you know, so yeah, you pulled the B and B move. Yeah. Cause you know, like I said earlier, my dad, real vibe killer, you know, when he's, when he's mobbing around the house, total vibe killer. Total vibe killer. But the wild, the wild Casey thing is so they're in the Walgreens or whatever the fuck it is. And she's getting her prescription. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:43:38 And he's at the condoms, whatever. Why? And he just I couldn't believe he just opened up her medicine bag. Yeah, well, that was incredibly rude. Is this is the beginning of this episode when he walks up to her and is like, hey, I'm HIV HIV negative, by the way. Is she? Yeah. Yeah. Because it was like, it's like, well, since I'm HIV negative, we can sex.
Starting point is 01:44:02 Yeah. Well, because she made him take the test. Rightfully so, because he was he was banging the teacher. She was like, hey, you should get tested just so we know before anything. Smart grade A class move. Smart move. So he does. Yeah, he does. And he's like, OK, now we can fucking bone. And she goes so they do the whole thing. He's in the condom aisle.
Starting point is 01:44:22 And she's like, just go ahead and buy him just in case. You never know. Which, again, smart smart move, classy thinking ahead. Love it. But remember you gotta stay ready. You don't have to get ready. You gotta put the Jimmy hat on, dude. Jimmy hat. Stop. Okay. Keep going. Should I put on two? But yeah, stay re stay ready. Don't get ready. But, but then, so the wild thing is, so then they're walking outside and she's like, um, like w just cause you bought the condoms, we're not going to bone right away. She's like, I have this whole, like it's my virginity. I'm losing my virginity. So I have this whole thing.
Starting point is 01:44:55 I want it to be very special. And she lays out her, her fantasy, which includes like beat for beat. She lays out how she wants to lose it. And then like the next day, he, he booked the B&B, got the reservations. He's like, we're doing this right now. That's wild. The timing is wild. Like to do it the next, I might not have been the next day, but it was, you know, it was an incredibly, it was within the same week. Yeah. Like that's a, that's like a one year anniversary or something. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Especially at 16 years, you know,
Starting point is 01:45:27 but yeah, the fact that he did it like immediately after she told him, I mean, I think he brings it up in the, like, you know, a plus listening way to listen and take notes. Great job. But yeah, let's give it some time. Fancy let's fucking slow it down, which even like they later on they're like in the midst of he, but yeah, let's give it some time. Pacey let's fucking slow it down. Which he even like they later on, they're like in the midst of he, you know, she gives in and they're in the midst of going forward and he stops it. Cause he's, he's like, maybe, maybe I went too fast here. Which he did, right?
Starting point is 01:46:01 And it did show maturity for him to do that. Wow. Wow. I mean, it's, that's like, that's a Dawson move where you lay it out. That's like, Oh shit, maybe I went too far. Create the problem. And then you act like a hero when you, when you fix it. It's like, okay, dude, this was you, you did this. Oh God. Well, speaking of Dawson, this is where he goes running back to Jen. Just, he's Dawson, this is where he goes running back to Jen. Just he's yep. All the way back to Jen, you know,
Starting point is 01:46:32 this is when they're doing the flyers, they're doing the audition. Yeah. Jen's on as producer. Um, I love when they're, so they're passing out the flyers and he's like, you did it. You're doing such a good job. You're so good at passing out flyers. It's amazing. And then they're talking about, um, auditioning and Suda cast and Dawson's like, make sure you give a flyer to fucking, uh, what's his name. Cause he's prime leading man. And she goes, you, oh my God, he's the, he's the worst. I think she has a sex bill of a, of a wicker basket or something like that is what she does. Yeah. And then it cuts to the dude they're talking about and he could not be more normal looking.
Starting point is 01:47:09 Like I get that maybe he didn't have sex appeal, but the dude was like, just a regular guy. He was like, he was at least a, like a seven out of 10. He was a good looking fellow. Maybe not like sex appeal wise, but you know, he's not, he wasn't a fucking uggo, you know? And then, and then she goes, no, you need to, we need to get this dude. And it was like such a perfect encapsulation of her, like spiral out of control type, because it cuts to like the biker dude who looks like an unwashed Johnny Depp. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:37 It's like, I mean, I could, I could maybe see the sex appeal of like the bad boy motorcycle guy, but that dude looks like a fucking weirdo. Yeah. The only, the only reason you think he is sexist cause he's wearing a leather jacket and running a motorcycle. God, this, and I mean the build of this episode and then the end where like you just were left guessing of like like did like every single couple. It was like, oh my God.
Starting point is 01:48:08 It was that was that was very well done. Like it was like, right? Like where it was like, like the episode ends in your like, oh shit. Like, oh my God, who did it? Because it ends with all them making out with each other. Yeah, like it ends with them all. Like fucking naked. So and it ends with the implication that they all did it, but like you did, but it never
Starting point is 01:48:32 confirmed anyone. And then it instantly, the next episode starts throwing curve balls everywhere of like, maybe they did, maybe they didn't, maybe they did, maybe they didn't. Then we find the note. Oh, and then, oh, freaking Chris finds that note. My God. How do you leave that laying around? That's true.
Starting point is 01:48:52 Fucking Pacey. But that, that imagine, imagine. So imagine you're in high school, right? And you got, you have two other buddies. You have three buddies, right? And I will two other buddies, you have three buddies, right? And we'll say losing their virginity, even though Pacey slept with the teacher, but we'll say, because for all intents and purposes,
Starting point is 01:49:12 he's losing his real virginity here, right? Yeah. And it's a non-prom night, it's a random fucking Saturday night in the middle of school year, and you get back with your buddies, and you're like, dude, I lost my virginity last night. And he's like, no way. Me too. And then the other buddy's like, me too. No way.
Starting point is 01:49:32 Whoa. That would be wild that you all lost it on the same night and the, you know, and it wasn't prom cause obviously prom, you know? Yeah. Yeah. People be fucking at prom. That's different. But Dawson and Joey didn't end up doing it. You know, none of them did. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:51 Spoiler alert. None of them did. Yeah. It was a, but that, that was crazy when Dawson and Joey both lied about it. When they were, when they were grilling each other. Oh, to each other. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:07 Yeah. When they, yeah, we'll just scream at each other, trying to make each other mad. Yeah. Cause that, that the, because God, Lord, like Chris and Abby are added again in the most diabolical way possible where Abby tries to make her school project about figuring out who lost their virginity over the weekend. I was unhinged.
Starting point is 01:50:31 I don't understand her thought process on how that would have been a viable substitute for, there's a book report, right? Yeah. Like it that, yeah. Like her, her thought process was I'm going to turn this into my assignment. Yeah. Which yeah, I don't, I don't know how assignments work. It's like that was, that was wild, but her and Chris are just a, you know, those two
Starting point is 01:51:02 together is tough business for everyone around them. And you just said that you're not, not too long ago. You said Abby was a great influence on everybody. I did. I, you are the worst Brandon. You're just the worst. You're just the worst. But I do love how throughout the, all these episodes, she's hanging out with Chris, she was the
Starting point is 01:51:29 VP or whatever, and now they're doing this whole thing. But she hates Chris because every time he tries to hit on her, one time he touches her shoulder and she's like, don't touch me, I don't want to get any of your diseases. And then when they're out, they're both auditioning for the, for Dawson's play and like the scene they're auditioning with calls for a kiss and he like grabs her and French is there without her knowing and she freaks out. Yeah. They're a wild pairing. Just the two worst people, the two worst people. And like the way they get them all together so that she can try and figure out
Starting point is 01:52:14 who it was by like questioning them in person, diabolical again, right? Well, she, she, she already knows at that point too. She already, cause she got Pacey's handwriting. She knows it's Pacey. Oh, that's, she just got about the hand. That was, that was pretty good though. She has them sign shit so that she can get their handwriting genius cops. He's not on time. So, but, so she, she gets them all together because she, uh,
Starting point is 01:52:40 what does she say? She quotes somebody when she's talking to Chris and she's essentially like, if you pretend that you have the answers, like the answers will reveal themselves to you. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like if you pretend like you have all the answers, they will reveal themselves. Yeah. And so she's just gathering them all together so they can yell at each other and, and rat each other out. That's what she's doing. I, and like just poking at each and every one of them with like conjecture.
Starting point is 01:53:11 Yeah. You know, like just poking at them with just fake views. And she, yeah. And again, she lights up poor Andy. She's like, yeah, I figured exactly what she says to Andy, but she's essentially like, uh, you know, your boyfriend had sex with the teacher and now, you know, why you're, you know, a little miss pure, uh, Virgin. Of course he's not going to be satisfied with you or some shit like that. Imagine if she would have been at the all nighter that would have been a,
Starting point is 01:53:40 Ooh, man, I, I don't know, Brandon. I mean, this, this episode was just another fantastic one. It was like Nancy drew. Oh my God. It was, it was just, it was incredible. And like, you know, we're just, we, we should, we also should, we need to touch base on pace because Pacey wrote, so the letter, the, I have the the what the letter says here the letter Chris fine says I Want to talk to you about last night?
Starting point is 01:54:09 It always comes out wrong so I thought I'd write it down the whole night was amazing But having sex changes everything and I think we should take some time before anything happens again Pacey writes that to any he was the one that instigated again like we talked, like we talked, like he backed down halfway through, uh, and his whole thing was like, you know, you're not ready. Um, I think he says he's not ready for it too, but you know, but yeah. And then like what he's solving a problem that he created. Yes. And what a, what a roller coaster of emotions to put this 16 year old girl in
Starting point is 01:54:44 what a roller coaster of emotions to put this 16 year old girl in where dealing with some shit and dealing with like prescription medicines. Like, you know, that stuff will mess you up the first. And like we talked about like the, the time from when she says the fantasy to when he does it is wildly quick. So you got to think that happens. He does the fantasy. He pulls out halfway through the fantasy and says, we're not ready. And then the next day he writes your notes saying we need time apart. What a roller coaster of emotions.
Starting point is 01:55:17 I mean, she reacts correct. And it's like, what the fuck, dude? Yeah. The only thing that I did not side with Andy on is when Pacey was like, I didn't, like, I didn't tell anybody and he, she wouldn't take no for an answer. She was like, she was like, I know only because Abby's the one doing it. Like if it would, if it would have came from a more credible source, then yeah, I get you. But it's like, I think he even says it too. He's like, you're gonna, you think Abby's telling you the fucking truth?
Starting point is 01:55:46 Yeah, of all people, that's the, that's literally the one person where you should, like it's believing them is like, are you okay? Why would you believe her? Yeah, so that's the only thing I didn't decide with her on. Like she just roasted you about your mom. Why are you taking anything that she says into account?
Starting point is 01:56:07 Yeah. So that was the only thing I didn't agree with her on, but yeah, other, other than that, she responds accordingly because yeah, this dude just gave you a magic, uh, like a magic romantic night and then halfway through was like, Oh, I don't want to have sex with you anymore. And then now he wants to break up with you. And it's like, just like 12 more episodes left to this. We got like, we got like six more seasons.
Starting point is 01:56:34 Oh, this is, this is heating up. I know. I just, I'm so excited for the back half of this season. Like, where is it going to go from here? You know, like it has been an incredible ride so far. It's just been an incredible ride. It's this, this fucking show, man. Like you said, it just, it goes there.
Starting point is 01:56:59 It does not, it does not leave a single stone unturned. Uh, what a wild ride. Yeah. So we're, we're what halfway through now, I think. Yeah. Yeah. Hold on. It's there's 20.
Starting point is 01:57:13 Yeah. We're exactly halfway through it. Cause there's 22 episodes, 22 episodes. My God. Oh, this is what Bon Jovi was talking about when being halfway there, you know, it's, dude, it's so good. I can't, I can't wait. I mean, I just, every character is good.
Starting point is 01:57:34 The, the, like the new characters coming in are, have been good. It's just, I feel like it's hard to keep up with the acting chops of the, the main four, cause they're just such a cut above the rest. But you know, Dawson James Vanderbeek is like in his bag is Dawson. He's just, you know, like so natural, so fluid, Katie Holmes with her reactions and it just brings the scenes to life. I mean, these guys, Michelle Williams or their terrible haircut, you know, has really changed the game. And does her haircut get better in the next season?
Starting point is 01:58:12 They got to change it back, right? I think it's definitely not the same. It just is bugging the shit out of me though. Like, why did they cut her hair like that? Uh, let me see if I could find some season three. Uh, oh yeah, it's way better than season three. OK, thank God, because, you know, extensions, am I right? Like, geez, you know, it doesn't have to be forever.
Starting point is 01:58:41 There are some extensions in there. Get that figured out. So so you
