Starting point is 00:00:00 Where some see heroes and others see egos. Bloomberg sees the era of billionaire athletes. While others follow the noise, we follow the money. Learn more at Bloomberg.com. It's not worth winning if you can't win. You bust out the trumpet. My mic picked up on that. I heard you.
Starting point is 00:01:04 I don't know. We'll see. I used to play the trumpet. I could play that song. You would be a trumpeter. You fucking. nerd dude what it's everyone in wayne was in band yeah that's the nerdiest instrument you know you it's the coolest even the obo's cooler no it's not yes it is dude yeah right have you ever heard of a little character
Starting point is 00:01:26 called lewis c armstrong the famous trumpeter i invented his middle initial i can't remember what it is i don't think it's i let's look it up i do not think it's see though no i'm sure it's not If you say anything with enough confidence, though, on the internet, people believe you. Are you close? D. Louis Daniel Armstrong. Louis. Then nothing to myself.
Starting point is 00:01:57 What a wonderful world. He was an all-around musician. He wasn't just a trumpeter. So he trumpeted more than anything. Probably. Probably. I mean, he's still a great jazz magician. a great trumpeter is still a fucking nerd though
Starting point is 00:02:13 you don't know shit about playing the trumpet brandon i can tell you that dude i took and how cool it is i took multiple multiple jazz classes throughout my life i even i took like three history of jazz classes none of them took
Starting point is 00:02:30 they all took i could tell you i could tell you everything you need to know about louis except for his middle name all right whatever brandon we are and actually now i can tell you that middle name we've lost the plot Okay, as the youths would say, who are we? What are we doing? Why did I sing the president's up? I mean, that's a lot of questions.
Starting point is 00:02:50 All wrapped, all wrapped in one little five second nerd, nerd shout out there. Um, we are the cake eaters podcast. Your, uh, official Mighty Ducks podcast. I'm Brandon. I believe, Dyson's Creek podcast. I believe, I believe that's Heath over there. Could be wrong. Could be a fucking double nerd.
Starting point is 00:03:10 and don't do not talk to me I am so cool Brandon you didn't even know how cool I am trend center like part-time trend center I don't think you can be a part-time trend-sender I think that's got to be that's a full-time gig no no no I'm part-time it's when I feel like engaging with the ethers of the world is that the right way to use ethers no not at all not at all but it's okay so kick you that in a thousand this morning take you uh saying hail to the chief there beautiful rendition even though it was it was the nerdiest it was still beautiful oh my god I hate you um you did that because we are
Starting point is 00:03:59 tackling end game today he's end game not avengers end game Cuba getting junior end game 2006 facial expressions off the chart starts in this one and he's just like in judgment night the dude is running all the time all the time running he chases a car he chases a car down and he he legitimately almost catches the car i mean the car did stop at a red light like a dumb ass but cuba loves a good tarps off scene too oh yeah oh yeah got to do tarps off if i look like cuba good junior i'd go tarps off too you know that's true i mean my favorite cuba getting junior seen of all time in any movie outside of jerry mcguire is pearl harbor when he's just going ham on that
Starting point is 00:04:47 that movie sucks but when cuba is going ham you know why that movie sucks because they advertised it as a war movie and then there was like one half a second a battle scene in a four hour movie it was like this is false advertising yeah well that's michael bhaefo freaking ben affleck love story with that one girl whoever was in pearl harbor i can't remember which yeah which one who was in pearl harbor and i know live taylor was armageddon yeah that was a classic i don't want to close my eyes that's uh that's right it's beck and sale i don't want to fall asleep because i miss you baby dude when that movie came out who had a chokehold on society little aerosmith singing that that cover song star-studded cast Bruce Willis anyways we're not talking about Armageddon but
Starting point is 00:05:40 that when that movie came out had a at a real moment but this movie did not the great cast yeah great cast 5.1 rating on the IMDB scale is completely fair in my opinion wasn't a terrible movie though like I wasn't mad at it the whole time I I watched it. It wasn't good necessarily, but, um, you know, like I wasn't like mad. You know, like sometimes I get so annoyed that you make me. Sometimes. Sometimes. Some of these movies.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Um, but, but this one. You even not mad at that. You even complain about watching the duck movies. That's, that's not true. We should do like a, uh, uh, Ducks redo, Redux. Ducks. Ducks. Redux.
Starting point is 00:06:31 We need to do it. it Brandon because it's speaking of which this movie he's the reason we're doing this movie we got double ducked this time double ducked that I got I got double ducked by surprise to the only reason I did the reason I chose this movie was because um wolf the dentist Stanson is in this movie he's where was I do not remember seeing you didn't clock wolf no so that feels made up no no he is he's one of the dudes who gets who plants the bomb on cuba's boat and they get shot oh he's the blonde guy don't even see their they don't even see their faces really right you see their faces for a good they're in the it's like a five-minute scene i don't how did i not clock him you don't watch
Starting point is 00:07:24 any of these because you don't pay attention at all yeah i kind of do i had to watch it on my phone with headphones sometimes you barely pay attention you come in here you see your three three one liners and then you clock out a true star a true star so you're welcome so that was the reason i chose the movie is because we had wolf the dentist stanton uh he plays uh elai i think is his armand is his last name is you're going down bomb bay um but he's one of the dudes that as we as we know wolf i know wolf you clearly don't know wolf you couldn't even recognize him I can watch this movie back five times, and I bet I wouldn't recognize him. But like I said, we got double duck by surprise because I didn't check the rest of the cast list before I picked the movie.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Did you clock the other duck? Yeah, I mean, you didn't clock stance, and I doubt you're going to clock this. Probably not. It's probably like a goalie of Iceland or something. You're talking about the great Nathan West, who was it bringing it on. That's the Iceland goalie. but the the other the other duck we had in endgame here do you remember the um the like the i think his name i think his name is shaky the homeless guy that she that like shows him to
Starting point is 00:08:48 the the trailer part yeah shaky that was a great scene i love shaky you don't you didn't recognize who shaky was that's the dean from d3 that's david selby oh i did not connect those dots in the slightest like not you see a shirt that he was wearing no what did it say said i've had a difficult past few lives classic classic coming from a guy living in a van yeah but that's yeah that's that's that's david selby and then uh carcin norgaard uh double duck teeth double ducked wow that's i mean like i said i like this movie started off tense and then all of a sudden like boom Cuban Junior's hand deflects the bullet into the president and kills him.
Starting point is 00:09:39 Woo, what a starter. I was, I got me at the beginning, Brandon. I was in after that beginning. I really was like, it's a solid beginning. Like,
Starting point is 00:09:49 it's not bad. And then like the last, what is it's like an hour and 45 minutes, right? And then as always, those last 25 minutes, it's like, well,
Starting point is 00:09:58 this movie, this movie ends real weird. Did you? So I saved it. I was going to just Google it of like, what the fuck was that ending? And then I was like, you know what? Let's save it for the pod. Heath like don't.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Let's just come in. Guns ablazing sounding like an idiot. That's what the listeners love it the most. And I just sound like it done. But I got to be honest with you. Because like they maybe we should wait. Maybe we should talk for the and save the end for the ending. I mean.
Starting point is 00:10:29 Or do we just start at the ending? Because that was. We've never been one. to hold back spoilers anything in order but like that ending was damn you know so let's just get into it because the beginning was fantastic the way it started I have in my notes um in my notes I have uh he you know he gets shot through the hand yeah um I have in my notes though um right after he gets killed I have well obviously um Hades James Woods, right, James Woods?
Starting point is 00:11:05 Yeah. Who plays Hades and the Hercules movie? Obviously, he was involved, right from the get-go. I was like, this dude, this is a bad guy. I'll ride away. And then in my notes, I was like, I bet you the first lady is in on this. So I called it,
Starting point is 00:11:20 called it from a mile away. Yeah, that's I mean, that makes sense, Brandon. You're basically a cinematic genius in and you know not to over I think the the worst you're the word you're looking for is a lot I did like I it was a few months ago now but the way that that Hercules movie it's fantastic like I just it do people sleep on Hercules like it gets love top five
Starting point is 00:11:53 Disney movie all time I okay I don't well I mean that's debatable in a different circle but I just did a different different circle what circles are you running in no dude you have no idea what kind of circles I run in you wouldn't even be able to I sent have did I send you the peewey Herman meme of like when my kid asked me what I was like when they get older and it's like you don't want to know you don't need to know you can't even understand to start to know but it was Peewee Herman is fantastic I need to send it to you I'll it's good anyways what were we talking about um i forget yow me oh we were talking about because uh how a savabbed i am oh and then you brought up hercules you're talking about her
Starting point is 00:12:41 oh it's a fantastic movie it's just and dude and that song going the distance dude i added that to noel's morning karaoke playlist that we listened to when she's feeling chatty and like wanting to dance and hang out dude that thing is to it's a salt so bangor you know how i feel about musicals i will say i have i have two exceptions when it comes to musicals one is uh mama disney no one is mamma me i'm all in on mamma mea with uh with that one girl with the big eyes and the uh um the who's the who's the who's the famous lady and then it's the other two ladies that are one girl with the big eyes are you talking about amanda c fred is i here you're talking yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah a little wild description
Starting point is 00:13:28 A wild description. I was going to say her name, but I was not even close. And so I'm glad I, at least you knew who I was talking about. I knew you know who I was saying about only by a process of elimination because that's definitely not Meryl Streep. Oh, Merrill Street. That's who that's who I was going for with the Merrill Street. Damn it. Yeah, Merrill Street.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Yeah. But that's because I love Abba. I'm a sucker for Abba. So that's why I give Mamma Mia a past. And the other exception I have is if it's animated. If it's animated, I can get into it. I just don't like move on. I don't like live action musicals.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Stop singing. What he's singing for? Brandon, you have no joy in your heart and no whimsy in your soul. And so that's why you don't understand musicals. I am I am definitely whimsical. I was trying to forget it. Oh, my God. I've never seen someone with less whimsy.
Starting point is 00:14:34 Somebody who wasn't whimsical would have been able to put that sentence together properly. Okay. Anyways. So Cuba Gooding Jr.'s hand kills the president. Well, it doesn't kill her. He tried the board deflection. Yeah, but he stuck his hand out to try to blow. lock it you know I know but God dude that's that's right like that would be hard to live with right
Starting point is 00:15:02 like just knowing that like well especially because they they're they're good buddies you did the right thing they're they're good buddies because he's he's legit he's been covering up his affair for god knows how long they're legit that that goes to the ending straight to the ending of like we don't really understand who it was but was the blonde yeah did they ever show the blonde No. And they allude that it was her, right? Because he covered for her so well that no one could have even known that she was behind it. Or was it that the wife killed him because she knew about her, but no one else did. So no one would dare blame the life. So let's unpack this here. Okay. We're unpacking. We're unpacking. Like we just got back from a carnival cruise that, you know, was just probably terrible.
Starting point is 00:15:56 I've just heard bad things about cruises, but maybe they're okay. You're just off the walls today with your side. I'm kind of tired. I'm always tired, to be honest with you. It's just, that's my life now.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Like, I'm just punched drunk due to sleep deprivation. You got to get rid of that baby, man. Dude, it's like full contact now, to like standing up saying dadda get some teeth i think i asked you this last time do you ever just push her down for the fun of it i'd do that all my god brandon you are a psycho no i lift her up
Starting point is 00:16:39 brandon you got it no you got a teacher to get back up pull herself up by her bootstraps well i mean i teach her that we talk about no you're coddling you're coddling dude we talk about not screaming and instead we reset we reassess and then we retry and usually that leads to success. Have you seen that that dog meme going around where the the audio is like, so you got pushed down, get back up, get mad, call the police and it's like people like pushing their dog down and it coming back and had them. It's a great, it's a great meme. But that's what you need to be doing with your baby that's an insane take brandon that's not true at all yeah you're you're you're raising a softie is what you're my god you're that's that Nebraska softy dude
Starting point is 00:17:29 oh my god she's gonna be so cool um what else is kre frown for it who the fuck is kate kron oh that's the character name i was like look you're talking about angie harman sorry i got the the character mixed up with the angie andgy Angie Harmon is the actress who plays Kate Crawford. Kate Crawford is the investigative journalist in this movie. Resolian Isles. That's okay. That's where I knew her.
Starting point is 00:17:59 USA Network. Character's welcome, Heath. What role does she have an agent Cody Banks? She plays one of the other agents. I think she's his his senior agent, his handler. Oh, Chuck. Yep. She was a bad guy in Chuck.
Starting point is 00:18:17 She's in a bunch of law and orders, too. Who is it, Ramar. That's true, very true. Yeah, Resilion Isles. USA, characters welcome. Good old USA. You know what? I saw TikTok about TBS dinner and a movie.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Did you, were you old enough for dinner in a movie? Was that still a thing when you were alive and watching television? Yeah. That was the best. They had the best movies on. And then they'd like cook a meal and have like good banter. They just don't do it like they used to, Brandon. Although some of these movies are a good validation that like, you know,
Starting point is 00:18:57 as much as I complain about new movies, they made a lot of bad old movies too. Like there was just a lot of bad movies. There was amazing. Yeah. They had, I feel like the older bad movies had more character though. They were,
Starting point is 00:19:12 there was at least some some charm, some wit. Yeah. Some zaniness. Like they're a little zany, a little out there where you're like, this is terrible, but it's kind of hilarious how terrible it is. Exactly. We're just like now, now they're just soulless, you know? Yeah. But that's true.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Oh, in Peter Green playing Jack Baldwin. That's our boy, dude. That's our boy, Peter Green. Yeah. He does such a good bad guy. Bad guy in the mask is where most people are going to recognize him from. Also, judgment right. Remember?
Starting point is 00:19:43 With Cuba. I'm glad they ran it back, but it's just, I'm going to see that guy. and I'm always going to think bad guy in the mask. He done so good in that movie. I forgot how we had that movie on VHS. That was one we got, we bought at the dog days of summer sale from the video store. You know, we do that sometimes.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Yeah. Okay. Are you ready to brains all over the place? We were unpacking this before you got sidetracked for the 15th time. Where were we at in the movie? So we're, we're on it's dead. We're unpacking the motive.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Got shot in the head by Randall. First of all, shut up for two seconds. Shut up for two seconds. You asked me where we were. I told you you completely ignored me and then you started talking about something else. I was a soon second. I love this episode. We were unpacking the motive, okay?
Starting point is 00:20:41 The motive. So just relax for two seconds. Because in my notes, they bring it up later in the movie, but I'm so glad. And I'm glad they did because at the beginning of the movie, I wrote in my notes what the fuck is the motive for this? Because they mentioned it's his like last
Starting point is 00:20:59 it's it's football season right so we're at the end we're in we're in fall we're in the fall. Yeah and he's about to run out. I'm assuming we're in like September or October maybe November-ish I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:16 We're before the right before the next election though because one of the reporters asks James Wood if the dude's going to back the vice president's run. So we're at the very end of his presidential reign. So it's like, why are we, what do we murder? It's just let him leave, you know? What are we assassinating for?
Starting point is 00:21:37 So that motive didn't make any sense. And so then later on, they start putting that together. They're like, there's no political motive. There's no financial motive. And that's when Cuba starts thinking about how he's been hiding the president's affair for God knows how long. Yeah. And so, you know, to jump to the end, First Lady, dude.
Starting point is 00:22:00 And Anne Archer, who's another fantastic actress. I love Anne Archer. Yeah. She's in staff. She's in a bunch of stuff. She's real big in the 80s. She was in. She's in.
Starting point is 00:22:14 She plays, you know, all the Harrison Ford Jack Reacher movies. She plays his play. Yeah, she plays his, I believe his wife or at the very least his love interest in those movies. Ghost of girlfriends past. Yeah. She is Dennis and Sweet D's mom and it's always sunny in Philadelphia. It's probably, yeah, that's, yeah, that's what I remember too? Oh, man, fantastic.
Starting point is 00:22:42 But she's great. But so she's the first engagement. Yep. She's the first lady and she, spoiler alert, she is, she's the one behind. the assassination plot because so the president is sleeping with that anonymous blonde girl that we we we don't figure out who that is right i don't think they ever show her actual no no and then um and then she uh an archer the first lady has been having an affair for a while with james wood who is he's the head of social social security service he's the head of secret service yeah um but yeah so that there's your unpacked motive he's So that's what's going on.
Starting point is 00:23:23 That makes sense? Yes. So Ann Archer uses James Wood, who's the head of the Secret Service, to plan this assassination on the president, who, and James Woods then hires a bunch of old, hold on. A bunch of old former CIA, dirty CIA agents. He's just over there. He's literally, he's just over there licking the case. couch. It's just a big wet spot, dude. That's fantastic.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Yeah, just a bunch of CIA D gens to take out the press so he can keep banging the president's wife, which like they didn't have to kill him is right. Like, I feel like they could have gotten their separate ways of amicably, be like you go do your thing. Nothing worse than a lady scorned. I guess. She's just like, all right. So I'm going to hook up with the people protecting you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:26 And then I'm going to convince them to kill you because you dare cheat on me. Woo. Man. Diabolical first lady stuff. You can't blame her. Take some notes. He's. I mean, tip for tad, am I right?
Starting point is 00:24:44 If Kelly ever comes to me and asks me to kill you, I will do it. Just a heads up. If I have a second family, then that's fine. Have you ever seen the clip from Bob's burgers or Linda's like, Bob, do you have a second? Family? He's like, no, that sounds exhausting. I'd need your help if I was going to do that. Yeah, dude, I don't, I don't understand how people, how people have the energy for stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:25:13 Even even- That's a lot of energy. If you put that into your family, like, things are probably pretty chill. Yeah. You know, like if you just put that much effort into your family, like, you might be able to like turn some things around, you know, like if you're not feeling. I don't know. Maybe that's me. That's just, I don't know. Maybe you just stop liking people sometimes.
Starting point is 00:25:33 I don't know. But even like not even just a second family, even just an affair. Sounds like a lot of work. Yeah. And just I am, I'd never be able to lie to Kelly like that. Like I'd start sweating and she'd be like, what are you lying? about and i'd be like so i can't i can't keep it's over yeah it's just not for even a half a second you know and i just feel so bad too i would like guilt instantly i would come on the podcast and
Starting point is 00:26:01 accidentally talk start talking about my mistress you know uh you're so doubt um yeah it just it like i said i would have really liked this movie if it was 15 minutes shorter well so so let's talk about the end now now we've unpacked the motive at the end cuba guine cuba gooding jr figures it out it puts all the pieces together he's like oh it's the first lady who he is also really close with and friends with yeah and she's like try to arrest me bitch yeah she's like you she's like you're her whole thing was you were too close you're too close you got to look at it from you got to step back look at it from a different perspective and that's when he you know starts figuring it out and then he just doesn't tell anybody yeah he just lets her get away with
Starting point is 00:26:55 murder yeah and then because he's been working with uh angie harman kate crawford the investigative journalist the whole movie well not the whole movie like 75 percent of the movie just gets hung out to dry you just like they have a italia i'm gonna protect the first lady and i don't protect because he wanted to protect the president uh i think that's he he doesn't want the fact that the president had an affair to get out. And he was murdered by his wife. Like, so he wants people to remember the president as a hero versus someone who was murdered by his wife for hooking up with someone else.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Who was obviously married. You notice that the, the blonde on the phone that we never saw her face had a wedding ring to. That's why I was like, who is this? Why can't, why can't, why didn't they show her face? It didn't make any sense. It was weird. It probably would have made it better if we would have known who it was, right? Trying to think were there I don't even remember it.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Do you think it was like an attempt to create tension in the movie of like we don't know who the mistress is? It's a mystery mistress. Maybe I don't because I don't even remember them showing a blonde lady at all. Yeah, I don't know and dude drunk Cuba on his houseboat that was a great scene. Love that he's jumping in that he jumps in that water with an open wound so many times. That's getting infected. Not one of your Cuba. He just uses his acting facial expressions and all that stuff goes away.
Starting point is 00:28:26 I did love. Do you think he's like top five of all time actors for facial expressions and movies? Oh, he's up there. Top five is that's, I don't know if I, he's up there though. He's definitely in contention. Think about his men. And for running, all of his runs. are he's always running in his movies
Starting point is 00:28:47 he chases down a car in this movie he chases down a car a car that just ran somebody over and when you get a Burt Reynolds siding as one of the generals Hold on let's go I need to talk about the
Starting point is 00:29:05 car scene when the dude when Peter Green runs over the dude in the car and then proceeds to drive away while stopping at red light Yeah, I know, I know. And he's watching in the rear view mirror as Cuba is running closer and closer to him. That was fantastic. That was I also loved everything about that.
Starting point is 00:29:28 I also loved how Peter Green runs like runs a dude over at full speed. Nobody calls the cops. And then Cuba, Cuba Gini Jr. is running down the sidewalk with his gun out. Yeah. Two white ladies freak out and call the cops on him. Yeah. Duh, Brandon. You don't understand law and order, Brandon.
Starting point is 00:29:49 It was just, it was, it was a very, it was, I feel like it was a very unintentional, but very spot on critique. Uh, man, it was just, yeah, like I said, it wasn't, it wasn't a, it wasn't a terrible movie, but it also, it's a very, it's a very average mid 2000s action movie. Yeah. You know, and you could, they were, they were trying their hardest to go for like a, like a born, born ultimatum kind of vibe. Put, put this on TNT at 2 a.m. in your goal, dude.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Like, you just get home from the bar. It's 2 a.m. and you're like, you know what? A little Cuba, little end game. Let's go. A couple more things that cracked me up is. So, um, he. gets um his buddy in the in the secret service um he's played by fat patrick fabian um he gets him to like get a team together so they can go raid the uh you know a peter greens um hideout hideaway or whatever
Starting point is 00:31:00 two things during that scene where they the the shootout scene where they cracker me up is um angie harman goes with them right and he's she's in the the range rover with kuea good and he's like I don't know what's going to happen in there. So I want you to stay in the car. And then he proceeds to drive the car right up to the garage door where everybody is going to be shooting. And he's like, hey, you stay here where you're right in the line of fire. It just leaves her in the car. And then when they're in there and Peter Green leaves the bomb in his office and Kibut's like,
Starting point is 00:31:36 right, like there's a bomb run. He gets jumps right or whatever. But the other dude that was in there with him gets lit on like full. a blaze on fire yeah and he's like running around trying you know all because he's on fire and cuba gordon junior is where he jumped out of the office was into like a locked and whatever and so the dudes on fire like running around and cuba's like hey wait can you can you unlock this for me can you can you unlock this and i'll help you can get out brandon yeah well he reads him with the guy that's completely ablaze it's tough like that's a that's a no-win scenario
Starting point is 00:32:12 I don't know how you want him to message that. Hey, bud, I can put you out, but I'm locked. I'm going to need you to help me so I can help you. Yeah, take a deep breath. But he legitimately, like the dude's like running by the door and he like points to the lock. He's like, hey, while you're while you're there. That whole scene was wild too, though. That shootout was crazy.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Yeah. It was yeah what a journey Cuba he crushed it too in this movie I thought Cuba was fantastic all the way through what was the deal with his wife did his wife die what was the deal with that we never really got deeper into that he was just like got her talk about my wife yeah Angie Angie Harmon like saw his photos his family photos and was like oh is that your wife and he's like don't fucking talk about it she's either dead or left his ass high and dry probably probably took all he had in the divorce i don't know he had a pretty sweet lake house he got the lake house she got everything else
Starting point is 00:33:19 right they're in dc it's probably not a lake but it's probably the ocean but by the way that the water when they're the water scenes that water was crystal clear yeah unbelievable and then i love how his boat blows up and the scuba like the breathing scuba tank apparatus falls right in front of them in the water yeah and then when they come back that's how life works Brandon when they come back miracles when they come back every day
Starting point is 00:33:47 when they come back at the end of the movie and they're fighting Peter Green the scuba tank still there and they use it yeah they probably placed it there on purpose Brandon I guess they knew they can tell
Starting point is 00:34:00 they'd sense it I guess that was that cut me up when the fucking scuba tank fell right in front of them uh those skins them's kids
Starting point is 00:34:15 yeah the ending was real weird because the peter green comes back to like kill them um cuba like knocks they knock they go into the water he ends up strangling peter green and then peter green's body just floats off into the darkness yes um and then i thought it was over well no i almost didn't at that i just didn't finish the end
Starting point is 00:34:39 because i was like is this getting over here pretty soon it's like oh no nope he was going to talk to the first lady at that point we we didn't like a hundred percent know like i again i had my suspicions from get go it wasn't confirmed at that point he that's when he goes back he has the whole talk with her and she like you know gives him the the wink and the nod and then he doesn't tell anybody this it's so weird for him not to tell anybody i can't like i mean it's just i don't know it's it's not only did he not tell anybody he's like doing a terrible job of lying to Angie Harmon back I know do you because like that's the ultimate question is like do you think it's better for him to have found justice
Starting point is 00:35:28 for the president or for him to have protected the president's um you know image what image yeah and and and let him die a hero kind of like Harvey um oh I almost said Harvey Whippleman um Harvey Dent is that you're talking about yes Harvey dark night yeah from dark yeah very Harvey Dent it's a fair question if you if you were if you were in his position would you would you rat out your boy I mean you haven't ratted him out this long I mean it dude it's hard right because I feel like my drive for justice justice would have overwhelmed my drive for covering his ass do you think banging some lady do you think him and the first lady are dating now because that that would maybe explain it if he
Starting point is 00:36:21 starts dating the first lady and then then i get why he's not telling anybody cute like she she she she she's just like listen here's the thing your houseboat blew up i blew it up my bet you can come live with me i can use you how i need to I need to. I guess. I was going to say come over a couple times a week. We'll bang it out. Call it good.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Solid. Honeypot. Just going to crash in the spare. Like you know they have a second like a second house. It's probably a multi-home property. Yeah. Yeah. But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:00 I don't know if you. Or maybe maybe she's like, listen, pack up the boat house. You can move into our. lake house I don't know if you move in though I think you're like that would draw suspicion I think I think you just you you pop over a couple times a week you know okay that way you can you can like ride it off is like oh I'm just friends you know she I protected her for four years we're real close we're just friends
Starting point is 00:37:24 buddy buddy you know no same brain I'm no banking going on here I'm trying to negotiate Cuba good and junior not having to pay mortgage or rent okay that's what that's what I'm trying to do here What are you his business manager? Yes. Show me the money, Brandon. Yeah, that is the, I just, it was, it was real weird that he doesn't tell anybody. It just, yeah, it just, this movie ends with a real, with a real whimper, you know.
Starting point is 00:38:00 It really did. Because I feel like you got to tell the cops, right? If it's like, I mean, I mean, I mean, I. Everyone was dying that was figuring it out, though, I guess. So is it because like who do you who did you do you pin it on? I guess you you you pin it on James Woods. Yeah. I mean, and that's what the first lady said.
Starting point is 00:38:21 She's like you did such a good job of covering his tracks. Like no one's going to look at me. No one would ever suspect the jaded spouse. Yeah. Crazy. It's a perfect crime, Brandon. I guess. I guess it is dude.
Starting point is 00:38:41 I guess. If it, if it was anybody other than like I'm, I'm not upset. Oh, did you see this movie was sent directly to DVD? Like it didn't come out in theaters. That makes sense. That makes sense. So that's that explains everything in this movie. Look no further.
Starting point is 00:39:05 Why did it kind of end on a whimper direct to DVD? Why is it a five out of 10 on I am? DB. It's a directed DVD movie. If you expected anything more than a five out of 10 production, that's kind of on us, right? Like this is, this to me nails direct to DVD movie starring Cuba Gooding Jr. at the tail end of his star. Like this is, this makes sense. This movie makes perfect sense now. Everything about this movie now makes perfect sense. It's, uh, it may have bumped up my cakey rating. Yeah. Did you know, They didn't even try to make it. They were going to and then it looks like a buyout happened.
Starting point is 00:39:49 And so then it was just like, this isn't good enough to send to the theaters. Yeah. It was filmed in Spokane, Washington. Did you see that? Oh, nice. Okay. Shout out. But yeah, this straight to DVD makes a lot of sense. I mean, like we said, Starr studied cast for it. Star set a cast, like you mentioned, Bert, Bert Reynolds is a retired general. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:17 Yeah. And crashes it. He looks kind of looks like, you know, he's in the tail end as well. A lot of, a lot of plastic surgery. Yes. When did he? Yes, it was trying to show through. When did he pass away?
Starting point is 00:40:32 I don't know. Not that long ago. Let's see. Let's go to the tape here. 2018, yeah, not that long ago. So, yeah, he's still a good. It's like eight years ago, James. yeah yeah he had him you at jean's woods like we said angie harmon and archer cubigan junior um
Starting point is 00:40:56 i do want to point out his uh his like little sidekick um the the lady that works um that's like working with him um uh in the secret service office she oh yeah yeah janis i think was her name right yeah she did all of the work of this movie thank god for her she figured she figured she She connected every single dot in Cuba, Judy Jr. was like, oh, okay, so. Yeah, real Janus moves there. I would expect nothing less, if I'd be an honest. Like, if I have a Janus working the back desk, like, this is the expectation. That's floor expectation.
Starting point is 00:41:33 Or she went up, she went above and beyond. She literally figured everything that they figure out in this movie. She's the one who figured it out. Listen, Brandon. she gets there's always room to do better there's always room for growth and so if i'm managing you've got to be the worst manager ever if i worked for you i would kill myself you're out of this crazy people love working for me actually i i wouldn't do that i think oh yeah they're not they're not paid to say that no they could be some some are some some
Starting point is 00:42:16 some of others are not yeah uh oh gosh um yeah it was it was a very interesting movie um like you said it just ended with a whimper i was very i didn't hate the idea of him not telling people but i did the way they executed it just left me real confused i agree i just wish i would have noticed wolf the dentist but i'm also not surprised you didn't notice anybody you didn't even notice the the dean either we we had we got double ducked he's and you didn't you didn't recognize one single duck did the dean in this movie looks so different than the dean and d3 they don't even look like the same person he looks exactly the same he's not even close he's he's playing he's playing a homeless person and he has freshly ironed clothes he's
Starting point is 00:43:15 the costume the costume department really skipped a beat with him i think i did think the same thing i was like that is the cleanest homeless person i've ever seen in my entire life he had a sick leather jacket you know yeah maybe it was new like like new homeless well i mean he technically he technically was living in his van um that gets blown up down by the river just in case That's what did put Chris Farley in this movie. Now we're talking. Now we're talking.
Starting point is 00:43:57 But yeah, Angie Harmon, she did good. She did fantastic. Angie Harmon's great. Rosalien Isles Sleeper Show. Really? I never watched it. It's not like I would, I would, it's not like a crazy, it's not like a crazy good show, but it's, it's a more than serviceable USA procedural, you know.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Nice. Yeah. It's a good background show, you know, throw it on. You know, characters are welcome there, Brandon, so that makes sense. Dude, I'm, I'm, I, I, Syke is one of the greatest TV shows ever. I'm a sucker for USA Network. I mean, Syke is one of the greatest TV shows. Monk was pretty solid.
Starting point is 00:44:37 Yeah, I'm, that guy kind of bugged me. What else did the suits, suits was USA Network? I heard that good things about that, never got into it, but I have no objections towards it. What else? Byr noticed? That was another USA network. Dude, I never watched that,
Starting point is 00:44:53 but the people that did got really into it. That's how most of those USA network shows are. It's like Syke too. Like, dude, the people that like Syke, like, they love psych like it's a sickness. But you can't blame them.
Starting point is 00:45:14 It's incredibly witty. Oh, it's the, yeah, it's the wittiest. Yeah. Yeah. Um,
Starting point is 00:45:21 there's a whole, whole TikTok like sub subcategory of people that just lip Sean and Gus quotes. Oh yeah. That's all they do. They're just like lip sing on. That's all I do in my in my, my day to day life. You know what I did?
Starting point is 00:45:38 I would actually find that hilarious. Like if you were just like doing TikToks that you never posted of you lip reading movie lines. Oh, no, I was saying I do. I mean I see I I I use their quotes in my everyday life oh we I was thinking the other day though so yeah I love taking videos to myself lip reading I was I was thinking the other day though he is we should maybe try I don't know how we would do it because we're we're you know oceans away from each other but we we should try to maybe try to hop on some TikTok trends do because they do those you know watching
Starting point is 00:46:21 people do those like games and like the lip thinking is always real huge but like there's a much like little games that are like all trending right now I probably wouldn't hurt if we we put our faces on some stuff and threw it on TikTok but that requires a lot of work yeah yeah I just like I just said I'm I'm pretty tired right now too but I might I might if I can figure out how to do it logistically I might might tap you on the shoulders try to do some some TikTok clips here Sounds terrifying. But, uh, wear a mask, man in the iron mask.
Starting point is 00:46:57 But in the, uh, we, because we were talking about, talking about psych quotes and stuff. This, this isn't related to psych, but I have, uh, I heard. I saw, I saw an Instagram real the other day of, and this dude, um, this weird fucking dude was, kept calling this, uh, this other guy, Playboy. And I thought to myself, I should, maybe I should work that into my daily rotation, just starts calling people Playboy. 1,000 percent. I think that might be the move.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Listen to your playboy. Nothing wrong with that. Like, what's that playboy? Yeah. I think nobody's imposed to that. That's like a big dog. Nobody's opposed to getting a big dog. No one's going to be imposed to get in a Playboy.
Starting point is 00:47:38 You got to know your audience. We'll see, right? I think the movie is, I think the move is to address other guys as Playboy and then address women as big dog. solid I think that's I think that's my move going forward I'll test it out
Starting point is 00:47:56 I'll test it out and let you know yeah let me know do some market research on that all right let's do do you have anything else to say about this movie we went a little far afield with this I got to start doing that's I you know I'm like quadruple tasking
Starting point is 00:48:10 when I'm doing these movies these days and so the ability to take notes while you're entertaining a swarming child and trying to watch a with headphones on while also not letting the baby see the movie is you know you kind of got to thread that needle why don't you letting the baby see the movie because it's not appropriate she's she's not gonna no iPad kid in this house Brandon we're gonna be haters the whole way through you're codlin you're raising a softie no iPads no tv books and music only
Starting point is 00:48:48 let her let her at least read the screenplays then It's the script. That's fine. That's fine. Screen plays in. You just stop watching it. Okay. So, okay.
Starting point is 00:48:57 So going for you, I want you to give her the script of each movie we do going forward. I expect, uh, I expect like a book report style paper from her on every movie. I mean, she's never going to watch them, but that's fine. The other day I wanted to watch TV. That's why we're giving her the script. I wanted to watch TV. And so I stood with a sheet. just blocked her and then watched tv oh goodness you know that's a poor kid man dude she's fine
Starting point is 00:49:30 she didn't be great i was talking to kelsey the other day i was hanging out with her i was like oh yeah i saw he heath was in town a couple weeks ago i saw him she's like oh that's cool how's the baby doing like i don't know i'm i'm assuming alive still yeah she's great she's the best yeah yeah i'm Number one. Very cool. Honestly, being a little coddled, but you know, she's doing fine. Being very cool. More like a cool nerd. Got her got her mom, you know, I think she she looks like a combination of like all three cruel babies. So I noticed that when I was over there a couple months ago last month. I don't know. It feels like a lifetime, but it's like if you mushed all three cruel babies together.
Starting point is 00:50:19 She kind of looks like that. Interesting. Yeah. Yeah, definitely looks like a cruel, I think. But people say now she's starting to look more like me. So let's hope that doesn't take. You know, she needs to look like her mom. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:50:36 Definitely. I mean, as long as she doesn't get your hair line, I think we'll be fine. That would suck, dude. that would be worst case scenario yeah that's a that's a rough situation there we gotta go to the doctor for that anyways what's your cakey for this movie
Starting point is 00:50:57 we digress so hard I'm gonna have to scrub the internet I'm gonna have you take all these down when she turns teenage years my cakey rating I say this movie wasn't terrible but it also wasn't good
Starting point is 00:51:13 I say 1.98 1-9-8 that's pretty low yeah i mean he said a he said a 5-1 was understandable out of 10 for i mdb yeah i mean i guess i could have gone two two cakes did you say one-nine right yeah one-nine eight it didn't quite get two cakes because like you know it was it was i had to kind of the i need to start holding you know like we discovered this in a different pod i need to start holding it against the movies that I have to stop and take a break and then finish later. I was like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:51:51 I kind of had enough of this. Revisit it. The back, like, you know, I hit the hour mark and I'm like, another hour left. Yeah. And then I take, you know,
Starting point is 00:52:05 and then I finish it later. That needs it. I need to start holding movies accountable to that. Yeah. Did you have to stop this one? Yeah, I did. Halfway mark. I was like, you know, there's movies a lot.
Starting point is 00:52:16 I literally walked out of the office. I was like, movies is a lot longer than I thought it was. Did you need me to take the baby? Like, it's like, I'm, I'm, she's like, oh, you don't want to finish it. I was like, yeah, you know, I could,
Starting point is 00:52:31 I could use a break from it. I could take a breather. Yeah, it's like, it's not literally. And I was like, it's not terrible. But also, you know, I'm, I don't need to finish it right now necessarily. So that's my fair assessment of it.
Starting point is 00:52:51 That's fair. No, I did that with this one too. I started watching and I got like halfway through. And I was like, and I did that on like, you know, like on Wednesday. And I got like halfway through. And I was like, you know what? I can this can wait until Saturday. You know.
Starting point is 00:53:08 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. what about you how many how many cakes are you given this this thing no you see you did one nine yeah i'm gonna go a little higher i'm gonna go 2.3 whoa they think it's the of approval i mean it's below average um yeah i think it's just slightly below average i was i was if it would if the ending would have had just a little more umf i could i could have got it maybe to like a a two five a two six but it just ended so weirdly like we talked about that yeah you know
Starting point is 00:53:45 i'm gonna that's and that's where it lost me when when i'm like yeah and i think you you you hit it on the head because it's straight to DVD it's not a good movie but if you throw this on t-and-t and it's on the background i'm you know i'm in i'm in two am come home from the bar you're making a frozen pizza you know it's not unwatchable yeah but it's also not not not not super watchable either there's better if you if you want a good Peter Green Cuban Jr. where we go watch judgment night you know that's true judgment I was way better than this way better yeah yeah cool well then's you know in the words of forest gump that's all I have to say about that
