The Canadian Bitcoiners Podcast - Bitcoin News With a Canadian Spin - A Violent Weekend in Toronto and Other Normal Canada News | The Canadian Bitcoiners Podcast

Episode Date: July 15, 2026

On January 1st a new EU law switched on across 27 countries — and it reports exactly how much Bitcoin you own.Europe's DAC8 turned "Know Your Customer" into what Bull Bitcoin calls &qu...ot;Kill Your Customer" — so the Canadian exchange just filed the first legal challenge to strike it down. We get into all of it: Tennessee becoming the 2nd US state to ban Bitcoin ATMs, Trump's disclosure showing $1.4B in crypto income while his own team writes the rules, Kraken reportedly chasing a full EU bank license — and the feel-good one, a single $150 home miner that beat billion-dollar farms to win an entire block worth ~$200,000. Then north of the border: KPMG says nearly half of Canadian manufacturers have moved or are eyeing a move to the US, Ottawa tells the UAE it has no "shovel-ready" projects for C$70B, and more.Canadian Bitcoiners PodcastWebsite: https://canadianbitcoiners.comX: @CanadianBTCPodSubscribe & turn on notifications so you never miss an episode. ————————————————————————————————SPONSORS 🔒 easyDNS — Canadian-owned, ICANN-accredited registrar that has accepted Bitcoin since 2013. Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, Bitcoin Mentor is the, I guess, sponsor the second half of the show. Look, there is an ad read. I'm not going to do it. Okay, let me tell you something. Nathan and Ben, all the guys over there, they're quality Bitcoiners. They got reputations built over years. You know, in Ben's case, a decade of videos and technical guides and walkthroughs and tutorials and trial and error.
Starting point is 00:00:24 It's not a better group of people to go to if you have concerns about your self-custy set up, your inheritance setup. up, your distress set up. Oftentimes on this show, and we live by this, you shouldn't keep your Bitcoin at your house. If you can have access to it, it's not safe because someone else can have access to it too. But maybe that's not an option for you. Or maybe you want access to it, but you want to take some measures that might be a little more difficult. Technically, these are your guys. Bitcoin Mentor is the place to go for that. You got a promo code there in the description. Use it. Get a couple bucks off and that help support the CBP
Starting point is 00:00:58 along the way now sir I mean I can just imagine where you want to start but I'll let you do the honors here Trump's talking at 9 today and I'm guessing is he going to be talking about what's going on in Iran? He's got apparently two things that are on the docket one is Iran but you know
Starting point is 00:01:16 what the second one is he is going to claim that two sitting senators are illegitimate because of foreign interference in 2020 he's still talking about this stuff he's obsessed he's like the Matt cratter of 2020 election interference.
Starting point is 00:01:32 It seems to me when he's doing this, talking about elections being rigged and shit like that. And now that's interesting he's talking about these two senators. It's almost like it's almost like a child.
Starting point is 00:01:45 You know, like complaining about something like spilled milk in a way. And I know I don't want to do to say this is just spilled milk. I mean, that's his thing, right?
Starting point is 00:01:53 He feels like, like, I think, yeah, I think he feels like though the country, you know, it was like a one step forward, two steps back when Sleepy Joe was in there and Kamala, right?
Starting point is 00:02:01 And so, like, he probably feels like he'd be so much further ahead if he, you know, if he was able to stay in there for eight years straight. And then maybe now you had someone like Vance or Rubio, you know, kind of steering a ship that was already, you know, enjoying some inertia. And instead he's got the opposite, right? He's got to unwind. It's been two years since he was elected. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:23 That's an interesting point. But given a lot of the things that he's, he's done. I'm looking at his, the shit coins that he's launched and, you know, he's done a lot of things that to increase his wealth, his family's wealth and his friend's wealth at the expense of liquidity out there, people that are just liquidity. When you do shit like that, I, you know, I hear what you're saying, Joey, but really it's actions that speak louder to me than words. And his actions, I don't think they're totally. totally in lockstep with helping out everybody.
Starting point is 00:03:00 I think it's more so he and his friends. Totally. I mean, this is every politician. I'm not saying he's, I'm not saying he's correct in his assessment. But I think that might be his assessment anyway. Anyway,
Starting point is 00:03:10 we can skip the rest of this topic. I have no idea what the guy's going to say tonight. I know, but the war with Iran is fucking interesting. He says they're going to, he says they spoke for night. This is like an hour ago now. In between BitCast and us,
Starting point is 00:03:23 I looked and he said, a deal is possible on Twitter. We spoke for 90. That's a deal as possible. And then the Iranians are going to go on fucking TV and say, we will never fucking. Did you see what the Iranian guys said about Lindsay Graham, rest in peace?
Starting point is 00:03:38 No. Absolutely lit. He's gay, had no kids, didn't leave any parasites to pollute the earth with. Like, my God. Just crazy, man. Absolutely crazy. They've entered into a war with a country
Starting point is 00:03:52 that they have no ability to control. However they're doing it now Using kinetic force They can't do it Yeah doesn't seem that way They gotta go in there with fucking troops They gotta get people Just fucking a huge wave of
Starting point is 00:04:08 People just fighting on the ground He's gonna announce The Lindsey Graham Legitist new Lindsay Graham bill Draft He's bringing the draft back They're gonna run They're gonna do the draft like the NFL does
Starting point is 00:04:20 It's gonna be live televised Trump will be on stage announcing All the young men if you're going to do it to a right let's see their 40s let's see how much they can bench it's crazy
Starting point is 00:04:32 underwear yeah we got to find out anyway I wish my American friends the best but I think things are heating up over there in a way that nobody really wants them to Joey we had a bunch of shootings in Toronto some 12 people
Starting point is 00:04:44 live at the salsa festival of all places no no there's two different shootings yeah one of the club one of the salsa fest right yes yeah and beyond that there was also a bunch of a couple of guys well one guy
Starting point is 00:04:59 and one underage guy shooting up people at what was it I think it would bind beach using teleguns yeah it's like you know so they'll just you know we'll add this
Starting point is 00:05:10 what the fuck is going on well you know it's crazy that you know the media kind of plays into this here's the chief of police in Toronto I think it's the chief police yeah I'm pretty sure that's him if she ain't dancing behind him
Starting point is 00:05:22 it's fake it's the only time you're going to see a live via chow not in a bathing suit dancing is when someone's been killed and even then depending on the uh you know sexual orientation you still may see her dancing so let's let's have a listen here to this question about legal versus illegal guns from the press top notch full retard mode here you're going to love this put it up so the question there the volume is low on her question but she says what evidence do you have that these were illegal guns like she's trying to villainize legal gun owners in canada let's listen to the
Starting point is 00:06:02 the cop answer the question. Well, the, the, no, I'll take that question. In this city, we recover crime guns regularly and the vast majority, 85 to 90% of them, when they can be traced, are traced to the United States of America. This city has a handgun crime problem. These are not licensed gun owners. We are not arresting people with firearms who are licensed gun owners. is not happening in this city in any meaningful way. The people we arrest with firearms quite
Starting point is 00:06:38 routinely, our officers interdict people with illegal guns are criminals. They are criminals without firearms licenses and the guns they have are illegal. The vast majority source to the United States of America. That's been the trend for many, many years in this city. As if there's ever a question about how fucking retarded the media is in this country, this woman has, the nerve, the perfect mix of low IQ and irrational confidence to ask what might be the dumbest possible question at the dumbest possible time of the most capable person in the room. Incredible. Perfect cocktail there. Great example of what's wrong in Canada. All this will do is it's going to just create knee-jerk reaction of new regulations,
Starting point is 00:07:29 new laws that it's going to make it. No salsa allowed. From now on. Yeah. And so you can only do it virtually online using meta's goggles. Because, you know, somebody must have fucking stock in that, right? And they want to pump their bag. It's just crazy.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Like that, that woman asked the question. I would love to know what else she works for. Obviously, it's, you know, one of these like, you know, guvety subsidized ones. But it's just like, what other stupid things did you think in your head that didn't make it through? Do you, like, shit like this, do you feel fucking. safer going out. No. Like I think now is like and it's not to say that oh yeah, I'm going out.
Starting point is 00:08:08 I'm going to get shot. I'm thinking it's it's the furthest thing from my mind. But in terms of. It wouldn't be the furthest thing from my mind going to something like that in Toronto. I know. It's still would be the furthest thing from my mind. But I don't know. But what I'm trying to get it is I would feel at this particular moment in my life,
Starting point is 00:08:27 I feel the least safe, period. Just hearing stories like this. Yeah. And it's just like when I go in a car, I feel the least safe driving on a road. I'm not expecting to get hit. But you know what? If it happens, you saw this clip, Len, of this poor old woman in Ajax yesterday. No.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Do not look for it. It is maybe the most gruesome thing I've ever seen. A car accident? Caught under a dump truck tire, truck driven by what looks to be a Brampton man. Guy pulls out. Dumb trucks are the fucking worst. Dumb trucks are the taxis of the fucking the trucking world. You see the stories all the time guys hitting the bridge with their beds up.
Starting point is 00:09:16 Like they, you know, they don't. The guy, he kills the woman, unfortunately. But, you know, the video is, it's one of the most gruesome things I've ever seen. You can go on, I think of the Twitter account is blonde bigot. I deleted the tweet I had about it today because I just don't want people looking at it. if they don't mean to. I want people to look and find it if they want to see it. But the guy hits her,
Starting point is 00:09:38 apparently, and the video starts with her trapped under the tire of the front tire of the car. The driver gets out of the car. He's panicking. He goes back in the car and backs the truck up, and the lady's guts just spill all over the concrete. It's unbelievable. What's filming this?
Starting point is 00:09:52 It's not somebody... Somebody's filming it, and there's another guy running around screaming near the woman. It's like black mirror out there, man. It's crazy. When you see somebody in distress, don't fucking pick up your phone and start recording.
Starting point is 00:10:05 I know. Help the personnel. If it's one thing, it's the car that has a camera and it's going to record, that's one thing. But if you have two hands, don't occupy one of them
Starting point is 00:10:16 and your fucking thoughts on trying to keep the camera focused. Trying to go viral. Got to go viral. Fuck you. It's crazy. These are fucking human beings out there and I need fucking help.
Starting point is 00:10:25 It's just one of the most gruesome things ever. This woman's family is going to have to see this video and it's just like, it's unbelievable. This is what we come to. Yeah. And this is society.
Starting point is 00:10:37 They want to do whatever they can to get, as you say, the next viral video. It's so fucking sad. And the dump trucks, I just wanted to reiterate. I see this often enough because they're in a rush. They want to get as many loads as possible because they get paid per fucking load. Yeah. And they drive those dump trucks like fucking cars, but they don't have the ability to speed up like a car or slow down like a car. But yet they fucking tailgate.
Starting point is 00:11:01 They zoom in and out of fucking lanes like crazy. They are the taxi drivers of the trucking world, and they are the fucking worst. Whenever I see one, I stay the fuck away. Yeah. Fucking car accident. Great points by you. Yeah, great points by you.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Just fucking brutal. Then there was another death that took place this past week. I'm not sure if you saw about this one outside Almer, Ontario. And it was a couple of recruits. Yes. So one guy got killed. His name is Tyrone Mag. Big Tang. My apologies
Starting point is 00:11:32 if I butchered your name, but rest in peace, buddy 27 year old. He was a constable in training. And another one is in critical condition because from what I understand, they didn't release too many details, but what is being floating around is with a truck and
Starting point is 00:11:48 you could piece the rest together. Shit like this is happening fucking too much. All the time. Awesome. Every day. It's always, yeah, it's with this. People have to hang. People have to fucking hang.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Like the politicians have to hang. The guys who give the licenses at the hang. The drivers have to hang. The judges who let him out have to hang. Like what has to happen? What has to happen? These are all metaphorical hangings, by the way. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Don't come from my fucking door. But like, there's got to be consequences for this. If you and me, if you and me participated in the, in this sort of like recurring crime in your neighborhood, You would have a social price to pay, a political price to pay, a freedom price to pay. There's no consequences for these guys. What's going to change?
Starting point is 00:12:38 Nothing. Ford is starting to talk about this more publicly because I think he sees the political wins finally shifting against some of the things that he's allowed to happen. But it's not enough. You need more. You need more, more, more, more, more, more, more. And stop pretending you don't see the pattern. Every time it's the same shit.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Stop pretending you don't see it. It's a fact of the matter at this point. Everyone says, oh, it's just anecdotal. You know, you're only looking at certain things. I've said this on the show before. The plural of anecdote is data. And so when you start to see this more and more, you have a data point. It's not anecdotal anymore.
Starting point is 00:13:12 If every time you see it, okay, like, fuck, figure it out, man. Figure it out. There's this national post article that I want to bring up. And it's titled Foreign Migrant Living Illegal In Canada. eligible for Ontario welfare. Premier talking about this too, talking about this too. So the Ontario Social Benefits Tribunal, they came out with a ruling about a foreign national living in Canada without status,
Starting point is 00:13:44 without legal status, and this person is eligible for Ontario Works Social Assistance. And the story is great, right, because this individual has been in Canada for approximately 29 years after his work permit expired, 29 years has been here after it. And so when he applied for social assistance, his eligibility was challenged because his lack of immigration status. He's been here forever without any status.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Anyways, the tribunal ultimately ruled in favor of the applicant and they were requiring the province to provide him with the benefits. And it's the interpretation of visitor. That's the problem here. Under the Ontario Works Act, individuals who are deemed to be tourists or visitors are ineligible for social assistance. Okay, that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:14:32 But these terms imply that a person who entered a country for a short duration for a specific temporary purpose, like this guy coming in for work, well, they're exempt because Buddy here, even furthermore, he had established deep roots in Canada for nearly three decades, and that tribunal concluded that he did not reasonably fall in the category of a tourist or a visitor.
Starting point is 00:14:55 So, foreign nationals, without legal status. Well, this is the thing that's going to have to be dealt with in the future. How many of them are there? There's this, there's this report.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Or a con. I mean, if there's no, get a number today, just add a bunch more tomorrow and buy a bunch more. Well, you actually don't, you actually don't have to do that. You can start by going to,
Starting point is 00:15:14 I'm going to find this article, but one of the major, one of the big four banks released this research paper about, you know, what is the Canadian head count? We've talked about this before. No one knows.
Starting point is 00:15:23 No one knows what the population is. And this guy agrees. He's like, there's no way to know. We get told this number all the time, but we actually don't know what the number is. And so, you know, the CIBC has this thing they call in focus where they release basically research papers. So TV has one. CIB has one. BMO has one. Some of these guys are more famous than others. Guys like Derek Holt, for example, write about the Canadian economy, American economy and they've, you know, garnered some notoriety over the last few years as people have started to look at these things more and more. I would be surprised if I ever see this guy's name again,
Starting point is 00:15:56 honestly, because this is going to be so wildly unpopular. You know, he basically says in the piece, I'll pull it up here. They have no way to know how many people are in the country. He estimates, Len, that the number of people that are illegal in Canada, do you know what the number he comes up with is? No, more than a million. Okay, that's not Earthshot, and it's a lot. It's a lot of people.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Right? Because what's the official number that's being thrown around? We're around 40.5 million? Let's just read. We'll read this, then we'll talk about that. So he says, statistics Canada, this header of this people who are on audio only are, is called, it says undercounting NPRs. Statistics Canada produces two population counts.
Starting point is 00:16:42 The census and the more dynamic quarterly and annual estimates of population growth, zooming in on the estimate of the NPR non-permanent resident count in those two sources reveals a big gap. The 21 census suggests they were just under 925,000 MPRs. But the quarterly estimate says the count was 1.17. That's a 20% 10% miss. So if you let's say not that the not that the arithmetic would be identical, but let's say it's close on the total population. Are we undercounting the total population by 4 million people? It's a 10% miss. Four million people? I don't know. That is nuts. You know, one way to...
Starting point is 00:17:24 Because, by the way, do you know what the shortage is on doors in the country-ish? It's about $4 million. So you have this $4 million shortage of housing units. You may be undercounting by 10% on NPRs. If you're undercounting by 10% on NPRs, is it possible you're undercounting by 10% in the overall population? Fuck, it might be. That is a fucking huge number, man.
Starting point is 00:17:44 And by the way, it's in like three fucking cities. Toronto, Vancouver, and where else? I don't know. What's the other country? What's the other city? Maybe. Somewhere in Quebec. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:55 But like those are the places where housing is, you can look at the most expensive housing. Where is housing not coming down commensurate with what you would expect kind of broadly across the country? It's those fucking places. This is a crazy report. I'll put a link to this in the chat or all the, I'll put the link to the tweet in the chat. I will warn you, this is a Google share page. You can go to the CIBC website and see this too. But like this is this is four years old
Starting point is 00:18:21 This thing you see the date on this It's 22 23 Like what is the number now What the number is Fucking enormous It's enormous Crazy
Starting point is 00:18:34 You know Anecdotally you could just If one has gone to The ER in the past few years Yeah And you can just like School ER grocery store Anywhere
Starting point is 00:18:46 Yeah anywhere. Salsa festival. No, they're scattered because of the gunshot. So there's not many people are hard to count them. It's hard to count them. Yeah. This is a beauty story out of BC, Joey, a fucking beaut.
Starting point is 00:19:00 And this is a BC Supreme Court judge. He sentenced this 24-year-old Karen Deep Singh, a temporary resident from India to 170 days of house arrest, followed by 18 months of probation after he pleaded guilty to sexual assault. Yeah. And this occurred back in. June of 2024. So two years ago. Nice. The story is interesting.
Starting point is 00:19:23 Buddy met the victim through the cousin. And on the day of the assault, the victim believed she was communicating with Singh via Snapchat to plan for a trip to a provincial park. However, Singh later admitted a friend has been using his account. And instead of the park, the group went to a basement suite where the assault occurred. So Buddy admitted to the court, he did not. seek or confirm the victim's consent before engaging in sexual acts.
Starting point is 00:19:52 And he was arrested the following day and provided a statement to the RCMP, primarily in Punjabi, by the way, and he admitted he made a mistake. So the justice, Kevin Lowe, accepted a joint submission for the sentence, noting that while it falls below the typical sentencing range for this type of offense,
Starting point is 00:20:09 it was considered fit and reasonable due to specific factors. He must observe a 10 to 6 a.m. 10 p.m. 10 p.m. and curfew for the first time. I mean, I'm under house arrest by those fucking standards. He's required to provide a DNA sample
Starting point is 00:20:23 and not prohibited from possessing firearm for the next 10 years and he is not going to be placed on a national sex offenders list. Why? Because he didn't get consent. Drum roll. He said that his cousin or friend was fucking using the Snapchat.
Starting point is 00:20:41 Boom. What the fuck is going on? How does the judge accept this? The Supreme Court judge. accept this. But whatever it is, whatever. So people accept it. This, I find to be just amazing stuff. I like that, you know, you can make a mistake. You could do something.
Starting point is 00:20:56 And, you know, there was somebody else that was on the Snapchat. It wasn't me. This would have been a great Brampton Man story. This would have been a great one. Snapchat. I would have fucking cracked up for sure. That would have been really good. I would have guessed Hamilton Man because the Brantan Man normally gets,
Starting point is 00:21:12 you know, exempted from difficult sentencing. Why? Well, because he's an immigrant. He's got to worry about his status, right? They do that a lot. Yeah. It's like, you get stiff glue or you could be from abroad and you get- I'm going to tell you something. The only reason you're using Snapchat as an adult is either because you have like friends who you have a longstanding group chat with. I have one of those. But even then I still don't go on Snapchat to check it. Or you're creeping on kids.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Like that Snapchat is for kids. It's not for grownups. Like get a WhatsApp account. Get a fucking iPhone, get on signal, whatever. Like there's a million things to do. Snapchat is creepy, man. You may as well be messaging these guys on Roblox. That's the next step. So there's this former government employee in Canada sentenced to 18 years. I can't believe we're doing this story. This is, yeah, this is good.
Starting point is 00:22:03 We're stealing $180,000 in pension checks. This is a former service Canada employee, Bonnie Lou or Bonnie Lowe. I think it's Bonnie Lowe. Yeah, okay. Sentenced to 18,000. months pleaded guilty because was stealing money that was supposed to go for people pensions, $180,000 was
Starting point is 00:22:24 fucking stolen. This is money that was meant for people to pay their insurance, mortgage, if they still had it. Jack Nicholson, me, I'm just like, keep going. It's fucking bullshit that people would do this. Why? What is bullshit about it? Why would you not do this if you thought you weren't going to get caught. You have no money. You're watching your tax money get spent in ways you don't like.
Starting point is 00:22:49 This is exactly what you do. You know what? When you see this and you hear the story of the French tax collector with the $5 wrench attacks and shit like that. Like it just whatever. This is just a sad reality of the way things are fucking idiot. Like I don't understand. You know what? I don't condone this. But if you're going to fucking rob, Rob from the fucking rich. I don't fucking condone this. You know, when you're sitting from a fucking senior and these are people that pension checks, a lot of them, they live
Starting point is 00:23:21 fucking paycheck to paycheck. And they have no ability to make fucking, that's why they get fucking scanned the Bitcoin ATMs. Because they got no money. They stole my service scandal. Right, yeah. So what's going to happen? They get promised that they're going to get the 10x return
Starting point is 00:23:37 and you're going to get the AI Mark Carney and Elon Oscar telling them round. Ralph Wall. Ralph Paul's going to show you don't need you don't need AI Raul Paul he's actually telling you that regular regular eye Raul Paul his person there you go that's a lot of fucking story good stuff uh gordy halbridge
Starting point is 00:23:57 this is this is great elbows down ass up that's the way that we get fucked I can't believe that that's so we stomached the whole the whole cost of $6.5 billion yeah I mean is that a lot I don't I don't know. Ukraine probably would like more than that from us, but we managed to, we managed to, you know, get into the couch cushions and build the bridge. So we did that. And then now they're going to get all the, I think once we even out the cost, this is the part of the story that people are not getting. I know this is red meat for a lot of people. But I think once we recoup the cost of the bridge, all the rest of the money goes to them. Like to the states, this is like, I mean, can't make it up. Can't make it up. I look forward to the next time Carney and Trump are in the same. room and this invariably is going to get mentioned by our press. It's going to be great. Prime Minister Kearney, he's a good negotiated, but he's not as good as me. Something like that.
Starting point is 00:24:56 And that's it. Bob's your uncle, man. Any observer who has not dyed in the wool red here in Canada could have told you this was going to happen. You get these delays. We are the smaller player here. You know what this reminds me of, Len, that famous foreign policy episode of The Simpsons. Okay, give it back.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Give what back. That's a trillion dollar bill. That's exactly what happened here. It's exactly what happened here. Should have went to his brother Dennis. I love it. I love it. It's so great.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Hey, but at least you still can't buy American whiskey, right? So we must be really unified behind this whole cause. Just a total joke. Fidel L'A, that's right, yeah, yeah. Total joke. I was a brother. Dennis is also the other brother. So, yeah, anyways, it's funny you mentioned the elbows up for this because
Starting point is 00:25:50 Gordy Howe Howe was known for playing with his elbows up. How ironic. The irony of this is just it's just, yeah. It runs deep. We like it. The Kuzma or Kazma, I don't know if I can pronounce it. It looks like that's causing an issue with businesses because a survey was done by KPMG Canada and it's showing that Canadian manufacturing is having a difficult time to adjusting to the way things
Starting point is 00:26:15 are, the economy, the change in which it's changing. And the study shows that 42% of companies are indicating that they have already moved or are actively considered moving to United States, leaving Canada to go there. And 29% have already shifted some or all of their production to United States. And so it looks like you have this capital. flight leaving Canada and entering United States. And the reason why is because you have the trade uncertainty. You have all this question what's going to happen with the trade. Currency uncertainty now as well. Yeah. Lots of reasons to move. You know, you know, it's interesting. The data in the surveys, the one piece is kind of flying under the radar.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Again, I realize this is red meat for the Bitcoin crowd. And for sure, the Canadians who are like anti-liberal. The thing is that most of the companies surveyed already had operations in the States, maybe not fully, but in part. So there is like a, you know, a bit of a bias there, but I think the point still stands. Like, you know, in the interest of sort of staking my claim, yes, these companies are operating in the U.S. at some level already. But shouldn't you want companies to be thinking about moving U.S. operations here, not the opposite, but instead you see the opposite. Basically in every silo, whether it's manufacturing or information work or AI, whatever.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Here in Canada, we're protesting data centers at every turn. Alberta and META just reached an agreement on a pretty big data center, I think $4 billion of investment. Is that going to happen? I don't know. Hamilton's turn one down. Burlington is trying to turn one down now, too. You know, there's something to be said about laggards and people who just don't
Starting point is 00:28:00 understand the invariable forward push of technology. I think there's also something to be said for people who just are like blindly nationalistic in the way they view, you know, product development and manufacturing and I'm not going to buy anything unless it's made in Canada. It doesn't work like that. You can't, you're not because if you only go that direction and the only companies that stay are the ones that the government subsidizes, you're not going to be able to afford anything. Like that's how that's the downstream effects of bad policy, right? It's not just a media hit and a survey at the end of the day. It's I can only afford the government grown potatoes. And I only get two per week.
Starting point is 00:28:43 The part-time job numbers are increasing, right? So you have great for us, yeah. Right? So we were just talking about like all these companies thinking about or already are actively moving to United States. But it's been reported by Stats Canada that things are looking a lot better now. So you have a whole bunch of people. 18,000 jobs were added in the month of June. And that was also following 88,000 jobs that were increased in the month of May.
Starting point is 00:29:14 And so I'm wondering how much of that has to do with FIFA is, let's be a lot. I mean, it's always in the summer in Canada, how many jobs are hospitality? I mean, you got cottage country here. The lakes hit their boom. Places like Muscoca and Nanaimo and. Yeah, it's seasonal. Of course. By the way, there's nothing wrong with seasonal job growth.
Starting point is 00:29:36 I think you see that in most of the Western Hemisphere, right? Like this is, summer is valuable here in a way that it's not necessarily valuable in warmer climates. But to say that this is evidence of great economic policy, which is all the messaging is saying, I think is like obviously wrong. Well, the amount of manufacturing jobs that are lost, we lost 17,000 manufacturing jobs. And so you have, in hospitality, you have in the, accommodations and food and wholesale. Like those are the ones that are like part-time jobs. Those are fine.
Starting point is 00:30:10 But they don't come along with pensions. They don't come along with increasing your lifestyle. You've got to get several of those jobs in order then to make up for one full-time job. But what makes things even like shittier here is when they do these, we made 18,000 or 18,000 jobs were created. It lowered the unemployment. rate. The problem now is you have somebody that is not going to be captured as being unemployed because they're working part-time, but they're under-employed. And now that stat is not being
Starting point is 00:30:44 captured because they have the ability, the capability and the desire to work on a better job, more meaningful, more pay, but they just can't get it for a variety of reasons and they're stuck flipping burgers or having working for FIFA for the next couple of weeks or the five factories. Yeah, they're in there they're precariously employed let's call it. I think that's the best
Starting point is 00:31:10 way to put it. And it's fuck. So these numbers are never captured. And so you have all these people up there saying look at it's wonderful, but it's not the reality. People are struggling to make ends meet. Part time jobs do not fucking grown economy. This is supplemental. It's not the basis of an economy.
Starting point is 00:31:27 And if you're using this as the basis, like, it's done. There's no coming back from this. It's fucking done. And with Kazma, this whole fucking uncertainty with that, it's just going to make it even more problematic for businesses to continually hire. They're not going to want to spend money for CapEx expansion or R&B or whatever. They don't do anything besides from that. They want to set up shop.
Starting point is 00:31:52 11% of head offices, I didn't mention, 11% of head offices are going to be. be moving to United States. They're pulling Brookfields. They're just picking up and going there. And I get it. I understand why taxation is better there and approximately to talent, shit like that. But that's not a glowing report for how things are doing here.
Starting point is 00:32:14 No. Declan in the chat bringing up a good point, too, about the summer jobs. Like, how many of them are actually being taken by Canadian kids? They're all being taken by 35-year-old Indian guys. Like, that's not real economic growth. That's continued dilution of the labor market. continued dilution of salary pressure. You know, it's not good no matter how you slice it.
Starting point is 00:32:33 But, hey, the liberal messaging machine is incredible and has never been more effective. And by the way, these same people who want to, you know, tell you that the economy is great, also want to sue you for telling your friends it's not great on Twitter. So look forward to that. That's going to be a lot of fun over the next few years. Can't wait to see all you guys in the lineup for the courtroom. Because not only will it be packed, but it'll also be government run. And so it's going to take a fucking long time to get through.
Starting point is 00:32:57 the queue. Someone can do a quiz nose run and we can all enjoy a lukewarm sub made by a TFW while we wait. All right. I think it's time to transfer over to the... Let's do it. Tell him about Twan. Tell him about Twan. I love Tuan.
Starting point is 00:33:10 I love the things that he offers from 256 heat. Bitcoin miners, actually there are heaters that function as Bitcoin miners. So if you have an area of your home outside inside, where the fuck it may be that you want to heat up, he will be able to sell you these wonderful units that will heat up that particular area. And while doing so, you're going to mine for the hardest asset known to man, which is Bitcoin. It's an awesome service. It's an awesome product. Check it out.
Starting point is 00:33:35 And he doesn't just sell you the product and you are then on your own. No, he will ensure that you have it set up properly. He will guide you through the process and basically hold your hand. And by the end, you have a home heater that is giving you Bitcoin at the same time. 256heat.com. Check them out. These units are fucking fantastic. and they continually change.
Starting point is 00:33:58 They get better and better. The new iterations. So if you want to get something that is cutting edge, you'll be able to provide it for you. Even if you have some ideas to make it better, he'll be able to take those ideas and improve on it. And don't forget, when you do say that,
Starting point is 00:34:10 you know, when you do buy one of the units, say that we sent you. CPP sent you over to 256E.com. Tell them we sent you and haggle with them like a Brampton man would. Okay, I'm going to close the chat. And here we go.
Starting point is 00:34:24 This is a Wilhelm special this week? Again, I must have another two, three, four weeks of Wilhelm. He's got my number. He's like Mariano Rivera here. You know, he's fucking money, man. I'm having trouble clearing the bases now. Okay, let's see. What was he got for me?
Starting point is 00:34:38 So the first one, we have a man who drowned while jumping off the cliff at a park. I feel like this is so easy, but God, I just don't know. I know, because it could be a curveball. In Rivera's case, it'll be a cutter. That's don't be fucking pitchy throws. So police are investigating in. incident back in June 21st, sorry, that was an accident that was reported to police at 5.50 p.m. And they say a group of people were spending time in nearby park cliffs when one person
Starting point is 00:35:07 jumped and he failed the surface to the water. And he was pulled later. Unfortunately, after life-saving efforts, they were unsuccessful and he did not survive. And so that's the story, basically. This guy, a bunch of guys were there. They jumped off the cliff. didn't quite make it. Any chicks? Any chicks?
Starting point is 00:35:27 Does not say that they were there. So, yeah, unfortunately. Were they shooting long guns indiscriminately and reporting it? There's nothing about any weapons there. No other hands. Okay. A bunch of guys having fun it looks like. Secondly, we have the story.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Police say a suspect who stole a vehicle was caught after he posted items on Facebook Marketplace. And police were called to a home on Saturday after a 2019 Toyota RAV-4 was stolen overnight. And some items were in the car, or the SUV, sorry, included were some golf clubs. And so the next day, police said the suspect posted an ad for selling the golf clubs on Facebook marketplace. Police got search warrants. They went to the home. And yeah, and basically they found a dude, 29-year-old. And he's been charged with traffic of property obtained by crime under $5,000. And they also located a seized Skyon vehicle key within the home.
Starting point is 00:36:28 And they're looking for its owner as well. So that's another bonus as well. But anyways, it's basically this guy stole a rap four. There was golf clubs in it. They don't want to keep them, put them on Facebook marketplace and was nabbed after that. So what is this is tough? I think most of the stolen cars go to Africa, right? Is that the, that's the story?
Starting point is 00:36:47 They go to port and then to Africa. I think that's what I've seen online. That is common, unless you want to go. for a joyride or something? Yeah. Or you want to use it for some crimes here? I really think, look, I am a keen study of the Brampton Man in that culture. And, you know, having long been a scholar of that culture, many of you will know that one of the first lessons in, you know, BM 101, Bram 101, is that the Brampton Man 101 is that the Brampton Man 101 is that the Brampton Man in their natural.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Habitat loves dying in comical ways. And so you see these guys getting hit by trains. They're like touching hydro wires. They're setting themselves on fire. They're like drowning in hot oil. Whatever. Okay, million ways to die. Choose one as the saying goes.
Starting point is 00:37:40 The cliff diving thing just seems so easy to say Brampton, man. It does. And like they're all hanging out on the cliff. They're all jumping in the water. One guy doesn't doesn't think to dive in the place where other. people have dove. He picks a new spot retarded. It's retarded to do that. And it's just like, you know, these are the same
Starting point is 00:37:58 guys hanging off trains, getting hit by posts, you know, on the internet. But it's just too easy. I got to say the Brampton man stole the car and sold the clubs because I think Wilheim's trying to, he's trying to get me again and I'm going to just go against the grain here. Monty Hall problem. Yeah, I'm
Starting point is 00:38:15 going to pick the second door. So the golf club guy is Hamilton. Fuck. I, fuck. You knew it. God damn it. God, damn it. I should just gone with my gun.
Starting point is 00:38:27 And the other one was there. Brampton Van died in Gravenhurst. It was just so easy. It was so easy. It was so easy. Oh my God. You don't know. I'm in my own head here.
Starting point is 00:38:41 I got the hips now. It's a fucking game. Now it's a fucking game. So you don't know if it's going to be anyways. So I have no names of either the golf club dude or the guy that and swim, but those are the two stories. Wilhelm's in the chat now laughing.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Fuck. Fucking burn bone me again. That's it. I'm out of here. I got to piss like a racehorse I've had. The reason why the other death story, go ahead. Go ahead. The other death story, I just wanted to let him know. Joey lives in Hamilton.
Starting point is 00:39:12 He probably would have got that one because that story likely made its way through his neighbors, the ears and shit like that. So I think that was just too close to home. And I think it was I'm in too many Hamilton group chats. If there's like a prominent death in Hamilton that's like comical enough to mention on the show, I will have heard about it, I think.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Yeah, that's why I didn't go with that one in particular. But yeah. Thank you, William. Yeah, great job. Definitely got my number now. I got a problem here. You're like LeBron James. I'm like the 2017 Toronto Raptors.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Okay. We're out of here. I'm going to piss like a racehorse. I've had about a trillion coffees. I am actually trying to caffeinate more and more on Monday so that I can get through this show with a, you know, gut full of fire. which I really enjoy doing. So that's it for this week. If you enjoyed it, like, subscribe, all that good stuff.
