Starting point is 00:01:17 Oiyama. So Charles and Dom, have you heard the news out of Japan? They're doing okay, aren't they? Aren't they coping pretty well with them? Because they wear masks and all these sorts of things? Yes, Japanese people are much better than everyone else. And I'm not just saying, that because I'm half Japanese or maybe I am who knows but Japan's doing so well they're actually opening up theme parks but they do have yeah it's pretty insane like I can't imagine that happening here mostly because we don't have any theme parks true of course in America in America in the worst performing state of America Disney world in Florida just open up on the same day they had 75,000 new cakes and new cases did you just say they had 70,000
Starting point is 00:02:00 5,000 new cakes. I did. I said 75,000 new cakes. Coronavirus cakes. Imagine if you cut into the coronavirus and it was a cake. That would be the best thing in the world. That would make it all worthwhile. It would be such a 2020 reveal.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Coronavirus is actually just a cake. That's brilliant. Anyway, Japanese seams parks, they've opened up, but they have one little rule. Oh, yeah. Over the years, roller coasters have gotten bigger and scarier giving thrill seekers everywhere a fun release. But one theme park in Japan threw its guests for a loop.
Starting point is 00:02:33 There's no screaming allowed. No screaming. What? Well, they've covered that. The ban on screaming is meant to cut down on the spread of respiratory droplets that can carry coronavirus. Will the new rule make going to amusement parks less fun? The video from Fuji Q ends with a helpful suggestion. Please scream inside your heart.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Oh, my God. So, Domen Charles, how do you scream inside your heart? I think I've been doing it ever since I joined the Chaser 21 years ago. I think that's just what being part of this group is like. Welcome aboard, Nina. Thank you. My heart is screaming right now. It sounds a bit like angsty teenage poetry, doesn't it?
Starting point is 00:03:19 I scream inside my heart for you. I think you'd have to ask 15-year-old Charles to find out what that actually means. you 15-year-old Charles and the experience made me scream inside my heart as well you had a lot of pimples back then Charles it's terrifying um so one fun fact is that the executives of fujiq theme park in japan actually released a four-minute video of them riding the roller coaster while just staying absolutely silent it's great it's very funny it's like it's them going up the roller coaster and it's making that up sound and then just like absolutely tearing down it And a fun fact about this roller coaster is it's actually quite intense.
Starting point is 00:04:02 It's got a 70 metre drop and it goes up to 130 kilometres an hour in some sections. You'd feel so awful getting off it, not having screamed. It would be not the release that you're seeking. I think that's the main reason I do ride roller coasters is just permission to like yell my guts out with anger and frustration and terrify myself into feeling better again. Although maybe they get to go on that thing every day. I mean, if they work at the theme park, wouldn't you just every lunchtime just jump on the roller coaster?
Starting point is 00:04:34 It's probably boring for them. Yeah, it definitely, if you watch the video, which I highly recommend you do, one man looks completely bored, like absolutely no expression. And the other man on the right is trying so hard not to lose his mind. Like his mask keeps falling off and his eyes keep, like, opening really wide. And you can just tell he's like stifling a scream. Like, I think it's very funny. Maybe if you live in a country where earthquakes are like pretty common,
Starting point is 00:04:59 I've been to Japan and experience many earthquakes just out of nowhere, the building starts shaking. Maybe you get all you screaming down there and there's none left when it's time to ride on the roller coaster. I mean, maybe they need to ban yawning on the roller coaster, you know, for all the jaded Japanese people who are bored by roller coasters. How would you go, do you reckon? Do you reckon you'd be able to stay quiet or would you be ruining it for everyone and
Starting point is 00:05:24 spreading the disease? I just think of the girl I had a crash on in year nine, and I'd just scream from my heart. I thought you're going to say, and I'd just be quiet and not say anything because that's how I date. I just be really quiet and never express my emotions, and that's how I get the ladies. Just sit there and just sit there and reflect on all what I've achieved in life and just quietly scream inside my heart. Can you think of any other situations where scream inside? your heart should apply. I feel like you've already outlined. Yeah. The whole 2020, Nina, this entire year. We should all be wearing t-shirts saying scream inside. Like,
Starting point is 00:06:05 until the vaccine comes out, we are screaming inside our hearts every single day. This is just what we do now. We scream inside our hearts. It's true. And when the vaccine, you know, when I get the vaccine, I'll be screaming inside my heart during the vaccine because I'm terrified of needles. So I've actually pulled some strings, you know, being half Japanese. I've got, I've got friends in high places. And by high places, I mean, at the top of a roller coaster. And I've actually been able to do an ad for Fuji Q, scream inside your heart roller coaster. Wow. Yeah, would you like to take a listen? Yeah. All right. I'm screaming. Do you want to ride a scary roller coaster, but are too afraid you'll catch a deadly virus?
Starting point is 00:06:47 Well, boy, do I have the soul for you? Instead of screaming through your mouth like a normal person, Now, just scream inside your heart. It is super easy. Just take any screams that were going to come from your mouth, creating possibly infectious droplets, and shove them deep down inside with all the other things you repress on a daily basis. You know the phrase,
Starting point is 00:07:08 in your heart, no one can hear you scream or catch coronavirus from you. And it's great fun. Don't believe me, just ask Dom and Charles from The Chaser. Well, to be honest, Nina, it was a pretty horrible experience. No, Dom, don't tell me out loud. Just tell me from inside your heart. Wow, sounds like you had an amazing time.
Starting point is 00:07:28 No, we really didn't. Charles, mouth closed, remember? Fantastic. And this concept is not just for roller coasters. Now presenting, scream inside your heart, everyday life edition. Are you furious at the state of the world? Did 2020 ruin all your plans for the future? Have stores run out of toilet paper again?
Starting point is 00:07:49 Try screaming inside your heart. You're probably all. already doing it anyway.
