And Todd Blanche have in common. On one level, probably nothing, except they're both made of carbon. But on another level, they are both reflective of the exact same problem. And I will lay out to you what Perez Hilton teaches. us and why Todd Blanche. I'll give you the top five reasons that Todd Blanche is in trouble with his confirmation. I'm Chris Cuomo. It doesn't even matter to me if it were, because certainly TikTok did.

have private interests running the companies, but there has to be a collective conscience here. It's too big. It matters too much. And it should not be the case that our president's main concern is how to get rich off it. Okay? This is what I see in Perez Hilton, other than the disrespect for mental illness, which is another problem and something we deal with and we'll deal with a lot and I deal with here, and we should. But it's not what he has in common with Todd Blanche. Todd Blanche is all about competing agendas also and empowering what is poisoning us. You're empowering TikTok

and people like them to make rules about what they feed us and what's okay and it's killing us. It's poisoning us. Todd Blanche, the problems with this confirmation are a function of the Republican Party starting to convulse. They're starting to have toxic shock syndrome

from the poison that is MAGA. That's what's going on. What are the five reasons that he's in trouble? One, the DOJ anti-weaponization fund. The fact that he was okay with that, the fact that he allowed it to become part and parcel with the president getting immunity from the IRS. And by the way, you people who want to bash Tony Fauci for taking the fifth, but it's okay for him to get an immunity deal, right? Tony Fauci shouldn't have taken the pardon, but it's okay for the person. But it's okay for the president to get an immunity deal, right? From the IRS. Because it's so unfair for them to say that he would ever cheat on his taxes. Oh, and it goes to his sons, too, right? You people are such hypocrites.

It's so hypocritical. But don't try to change anybody's minds. Don't. It's not going to happen. It's become their identity. Okay? You just got to outnumber them. You got to outnumber them. You got to find people who are like-minded, organize, galvanize, and exercise. Your franchise. Okay? You can have that line, by the way. I just made it up. Hmm, must be the gummy.

That $1.8 billion Justice Department Fund doesn't matter whether it happens or not. It's the fact that he wanted it to happen, that he's okay with it happening, that he is obviously Trump's bitch. That's the problem.

Okay? Number two is that problem. Concerns about the Justice Department's independence. Because they're not. They do. what Trump says, period. Look, of course it's always been a close

relationship with administrations. That's why they are supposed to try to outwardly and inwardly stay away as much as they can. This one does the opposite. So they played on the fragility of a system, the imperfection of a system,

the balancing, right, to just abuse it and just have him be his guy, literally his personal lawyer is now in there. And it raises concerns because it is a concern because he does whatever Trump tells him to do. And we all know it. And he won't even say otherwise, by the way, which is weird. He doesn't even give you the perfunctory thing that you hear from Supreme Court justices.

My personal politics don't come into play. I'd have to see the actual case. I would have to respect that because it's stare decisively. It's all bullshit. It's all bullshit. Todd Blanche doesn't even give you the bullshit. That's why he's dangerous, by the way. He is a smart, skilled lawyer

who knows how to play chess when he's in a game of checkers, which is what's going on. Republican resistance is a real thing here. Why? Because they know Trump's are going to go. And some of them are up in the midterms,

and this stuff looks terrible to Americans. and you promise them to drain the deep state and you just threw more alligators into the swamp. Mixed metaphors, but it works. John Cornyn and Tom Tillis. Now, they're both on the way out, but that's how it is in politics these day, man. You want somebody, this is why you need term limits.

Okay? Because the only time they're going to be honest and do anything other than play team ball is when they're on their way out. That's what it happens. So that's what these guys are doing. You know? It's not his qualifications that they're concerned with.

It's the manifestations of how he does the job. Okay, of course Democrats are against him, and some of that is team ball, but some of that is righteous. Okay? And the Epstein Survivors Matter. Blanche went like this. You know what this is an Italian? Bing. What is it?

It is an insult like, I don't give a shit about you. That's what he did to the survivors. that's what he did to the Epstein disclosure. He literally came out on the president's whim and said, that's it, we're done. Half of what they have is still in his possession. What he did really is he redacted into a bunch of gobbledygook. That's why he's got trouble,

even with a couple of Republicans who were allowed to have a conscience. The legal force of his concessions. rescinding the fund, narrowing other controversial arrangements, that they will not be durable, meaning he is just saying things right now that he will undo once he gets confirmed. Because that's all he has done. He has never shown a backbone up against the president.

If he had one, he would have never had Gene Piro bring that case with the reflecting pool. if he had one he wouldn't entertain the election rigging bullshit and if he had one he would have never allowed the president to have an immunity deal with the IRS um and then you know why did susan collins vote against um the that it's all political it's all lawfare and look you know it is the idea of mike johnson saying you know if you elect democrats in the midterms they're just going to go after Trump and if, oh, because you're not doing that. You're not doing that with Tony Fauci. You're not doing that with everything, right? You're not holding hearings that are almost

exclusively against your political opponents, right? Senator Ron Johnson didn't come on my show. You can't pull the click on a clip right now off the internet of Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin saying to me on my show, this is a team sport. You don't investigate your own. But you're going to say that the Democrats are going to do that. And that's what's wrong. with them? What a fucking hipperc. And it bothers me more with Johnson. It does. Why? Because he put himself above us. I'm a Christian. I rule by the good book. Yeah, where in there does it say that members of Congress don't make enough so they should be able to cheat an insider trade? I don't remember Jesus saying that. Is that a sermon on the mount? I don't know. When do he say it? He rules by the good book.

That's where I am with religion. But you say that you're something special. And that's what pisses me off about the people with their little icons after their names. Oh, God, first. Yeah, right. But then you're a piece of shit to me. Then you're rude. And then, you know, you're all these other things, right?

Come on. Oh, but I'm a sinner. But I'm forgiven because I said it. Yeah, it doesn't work for me. And it doesn't work for me that my. Johnson says that he's, you know, leading with his godhead and then he's just doing the worst of what anybody would do. Look, it is good that Todd Blanche is getting a hard time. What's happening at the DOJ is disgraceful, okay? And it's hurting our country. It's hurting perceptions

of the administration of justice. It's hurting the perceptions of law enforcement. That's why what's happening with ice is so corrosive because it's not just about ice. It's about how it makes all law enforcement look. And are these things imperfect? Do they need improvement? Of course. Of course. But we're in the tear it down, destroy everything because it's imperfect mode.

You don't get that. Why should he? Crazy. And again, look, he just keeps. doing and saying that whatever the president wants is okay. And that's not okay. That's not your job. That's not what you took an oath to. And, you know, look, he at least he's honest about some of this with you. You know what I mean? I wasn't just his lawyer. I'm his friend. And look, I think Epstein was disqualifying. I do. I think not putting it all out, lying about it, all of them,

Bondi, him, all of them. Trump, lying about it, protecting the same people that they promised you, they would change the culture of protection. And then they did it. And again, I don't trust him. Okay, that's number five. I don't trust them. Why?

Because trust is earned. And all he does is bad shit. He is totally open to. doing whatever Trump wants him to do in the elections. Totally open. Who's going to stop him? We're down to the Supreme Court, which is packed with conservatives. Scary.

Scary. I understand why people are afraid of what's going to happen in the elections. I don't come from that place. I prepare. I call out whatever they do. I call out what they seem to be wanting to message. And I pay attention. and then we'll see what happens.

No, you have to deal with it now. I can't deal with it now. They haven't done it yet. They're just laying the groundwork for making you believe that our elections are rigged. Donald Trump or any of his cronies and remember the lawyers who tried to advance this in courts of law. What happened to them? They got convicted. They lost their licenses.

They had to back off their statements. Why? Because it's different in a court of law for a lawyer. You will lose your license. You will be judged by a judge, not by somebody. bunch of assholes on social media. It's different. And you know how you know what's different?

Because it doesn't suit their agenda of ruining your trust in our institutions. Why does he want you to have no trust in our elections? Why? That is the question. And he wants them treated like dogs. No, we would never treat dogs that way. He wants them treated like rats.

And he's doing it right in your face. Why do you think you haven't heard what happened to Renee Good? Why do you think you haven't heard what happened to Alex Pretty? Why do you think they still don't have body cameras? Why do you think we haven't heard anything? about the circumstances surrounding the two undocumented migrants, the illegal aliens that they killed. Why did we have to find out that this guy in Maine,

who lost it, should have never been able to do it in the first place? And what are they doing about it? Tom Holman. Maybe we'll have to change. Shut up, you're not going to change anything. Look what you're doing with your detention centers. You won't even let us in. You said you'd let me in and you welshed.

A lot of them are there because they believe they're right about what was wrong economically and that the system is not serving them and it's serving only the top. You probably agree with that. They're not wrong about that.

That is what makes social media different. Oh, but there's always been a silent majority. Yeah, not like this. Not like this. where we agree in huge numbers on what really matters. That's what I do on News Nation all the time, with we the people agree. And I show you the poll stats on it. Okay?

So this is it. I'm not making this shit up. I'm not cherry picketing. You can go look for the polls yourself and see whether they're reputable and see what their sample size was, just like we did in the vetting of it. And it's just true.

We're not. The division is manufactured. It's done for the benefit of the parties. It's done to the advantage of the powerful who would rather us be cut into slices because it's easier to win. It's easier to make the other side lose. And it allows special interests to get outsized support. And it allows the wants of the few to overcome the needs of the many.

We see it again and again and again. but it's not the truth. How can it be that six, seven, eight out of ten of us? Nine and a half out of ten say affordability is real and it's a problem in their life. Nine and a half out of ten. The president says it's fake news. How is that not the end of the election narrative? Because of how divided the process is, the game is, and how constant you're being told that on this.

Right? And the media is echoing it all the time. Why? Division's good for business. nobody's trying to bring us together. They only do that opportunistically when they have to, like when a lot of people get shot and killed. Right?

I mean, I'm trying to do it a lot more than that, but it's not a great business model. I should pick aside, right? I should just beat the shit at a MAGA every night. And I'd have twice as many people subscribing and watching and listening and doing all that. Well, then why don't I do it? MAGA is evil.

Maga is Nazis. Maga is this. I don't think it's that simple. I don't think it's that simple. And I don't want to become what I oppose. Well, you're naive, you're stupid, you don't see it for what it is. Yeah, that's me. I'm naive and stupid.

That's what I am. Or maybe there's something else. And maybe we can get to a better place a different way. And maybe there is a need for disruption. And maybe it's going to happen anyway, so it doesn't really matter what I advocate for or not. And then we'll see what happens after that. That is the safest space. I just don't believe in being passive in my own existence.

I don't. I want to be active in my own existence, in my own outcomes. Why? Because if there's a measure of control, I want it. Because there's so much that I don't control, especially in our society, in our culture, in our journalism, in our media. You know, there's so much that has put on me.

Now, here, Look, no, not as much because I own this, but I do got to keep people employed. I do got to keep paying for all the production and stuff. So I've got to do things that are calculated to be at least a reasonable chance at success. Otherwise, I can't keep paying for it other than why I just want to make it a hobby or something and just waste money. money, you know, putting something out that's never going to be anything. So it's tricky. Less so here than on serious radio.

Less so here than a News Nation. Why? Because I don't own it. They do. I have a show there. I mean, I control what comes out of my mouth. I'm not going to say anything that I don't want to say. But there's absolutely influence on what you cover, how often you cover it, who you use to cover it.

That's true at every media company. and it's true with the independent ones also more true with a lot of the independent ones why because they're about nothing but revenue so they're totally tied to the clicks and the watch time and all that other shit there is no you know institutional philosophy now is that true for all of them of course not nothing is true for all of anything but the idea that Independent media is better because there are no bosses and there's no corporate. That's bullshit. You think there's no economic motivations?

And I'm not saying everybody's the same, but that's true on every level of media and every type. So see these things for what they are, which are examples of what agendas are being empowered. Todd Blanche being put up as AG is the, in our lifetime, in their modern era, okay? I have never seen as flawed and as obviously, obviously biased a choice as this. He is the most conflicted of anyone I've ever seen put in that position. He makes Bill Barr look like a fair broker. He really does. In fact, Bill Barr was a fair broker compared to this guy.

and he was not a fair broker, okay? But compared to this guy, he was acceptable. Compared to this guy, he was acceptable. And he did really bad shit, in my opinion. Okay? Really bad shit. And look, I mean, just going after Comey the way they did. I mean, this is bad shit that he's doing.

I didn't even list it. I didn't even mention it. Why? Because there's bigger fish to fry. And I don't really like Jim Comey. I think his big mouth got him in a lot of trouble. I think his vanity, I think his narcissism got him in trouble. The way he weighed in and ruined that campaign for Hillary Clinton, stole that election?

I don't mean that. But that's what we say these days. But the idea that he's an enemy of Trump, boy, that gift he gave him with that bullshit about Hillary. man i'll never forget that neither will see neither will see neither will the democrats i can't believe they defend this guy after what he did to her um and just for what his ego see it it's all connected the agendas they're being pursued the agendas that are being advanced with todd blanche even though he did all these things that i outlined to you that we're letting these companies design what we get

to speak and for how long even when perez hilton is apparently slashing his face up like it was a tomato, that it took people to step up and do the right thing, even when the platform did not. That's always going to be the remedy in America. All the best things are always going to be bottom up. That's why it takes time. That's why it's so frustrating.

That's why it's so incremental because it's hard. It's hard. And that's why it's an experiment. But it's all connected. Okay? The shit we're dealing with with Perez, Hilton, the shit we're dealing with with Todd Blanche, shit we're dealing with with Trump and the corruption. It's not a secret. It's right in your face because that's where we are and that's

the most frightening part to me. That where we are now, there's no shame in the game. There's no reason to hide it. And the right to want to disrupt it is real. And what we're seeing within the rejection and these primaries is real. And no, I don't. believe that Dr. El-Sayed once Sharia law. Okay? Why? Because very few Muslims believe in that antiquated extreme bullshit. And he happens to be one of the ones who does not. Well, how do you know? Well, because he says it. I don't want that. I believe in our constitution. I believe in our rules. Yeah, but he could be lying. Oh, really? Now you've got a problem with guys who lie to you. I know someone else to start with. See what I'm saying?

I'm not going to let, look, do I like the DSA branding and market? No, I don't. No, I don't. I don't like the way they're selling themselves. I think they're putting themselves at a huge disadvantage and it wasn't necessary. And I get that two out of three Democrats aren't bothered by the S and DSA. But I think other people in the country that they need to persuade, maybe. And I don't think they needed that barrier.

Because they're not really socialists anyway. Yes, they are. They're putting out a lot of extreme positions papers as an organization. Yeah, I know. I'm saying they're not an ideology, and it's not going to happen. Okay, Trump wanted to foot a wall around the country. It's not going to happen. All right?

No one's changing us out of our economic system. They may change how the economic system rewards and preferences. Oh, yeah, but this just is bad. We do it now. Why do corporations get a lower tax rate than you do? It's a preference. Why do they get deductions you don't? It's a preference.

Is that socialism? Stupid. The Trump accounts, taking my money and giving it to you for your kid. Is that capitalism? No, it's not capitalism. Yeah, but I like that. Yeah, you see? Now we're talking.

Now we're talking the truth. All right. And so I get that they are right about a lot of things that are wrong. You don't need to be a Democratic socialist to be right about what's wrong. Maga was right about a lot of the same. economic things that are wrong also. And they were in favor of a lot of the same changes. Why? Because it's about extreme disruption. And look, I'm okay with that. I just, I don't think it should dominate our dialogue. And I think the Democrats are making a big mistake by ignoring these things

and ignoring the desire for outsiders in fresh blood and people who have different ideas and who are really on it wanting to change instead of being a part of it. And they're making a mistake. and they're giving their power, their agency to their fringe. And again, I'm not afraid of the DSA. I wasn't afraid of MAGA. What I'm afraid of is that we don't have balanced power and we don't have a government that feels that it's reactive and responsive to the people anymore.

And I think you've got to punish these mofos and vote out all the incumbents. Yeah, I do. I'm anti-partisan, man. Clean them out, put in new ones. Now, the problem is you may get worse. You might. Why? Because these primaries being closed, man, you're getting more and more extreme candidates out of the primaries.

And, you know, if that's what's the people want, that's fine. But it's a smaller and smaller number of people. Right? Very few. Most don't vote in the primary. Most who vote in the general, you know, don't vote in the primary. So the people who do become really, really, you know, enthusiastic, zealous and maybe extreme. Certainly saw that on the right. Certainly starting to see it on the right. Certainly starting to see it on the law. left. Yeah, but the left is better. Okay, we'll see. Well, how could it not be better? These people are Nazis. I understand that. I don't share the extreme nature of the analysis, but it doesn't matter. I think our institutions are in trouble. I think the democracy is not on the ballot, but you keep messing with something. Eventually, you're going to break it. And how does that look when it breaks? Not pretty. And who's going to fix it? I don't know. And the unknown can be a very powerful motivator. And it is for me. The question is, is it for you? But see all these things as connected, because they are.
