The Chris Cuomo Project - Trump’s China Trip Was Over Before It Started

Episode Date: May 14, 2026

President Trump's state visit to China was over before he even left the ground. In his comments to reporters before departing for Beijing, Trump said he doesn't even consider Americans' financial situ...ation when making foreign policy decisions — that the only thing that matters to him is keeping Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. That admission, paired with what's actually happening at this summit, is a campaign ad for the midterms. Chris breaks down why this trip was a failure before it started: the economic crisis Trump is ignoring at home, the Iran war that's bled his leverage, the Taiwan ask that reveals how China sees American weakness, and why the Democrats are still barely beating MAGA in the polls despite every economic metric going the wrong way. Starting point is 00:00:00 For what extent are Americans' financial situations motivating you to make a deal? Not even a little bit. The only thing that matters when I'm talking about Iran, they can't have a nuclear weapon. I don't think about Americans' financial situation. I don't think about anybody. I think about one thing. We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That's all.
Starting point is 00:00:21 That's the only thing that's motivated. And just like that, President Trump's China trip was over and a failure before. he even left the ground. Why? Because you just saw the campaign ad for the midterms. And not just for the Democrats, but for other Republicans who want to break away from MAGA. You don't even consider our economy when you're considering what you do abroad. I thought it was America first. You just heard the transition of America first to America worst. And you can think it's fair or unfair, but welcome to politics. I'm Chris Cuomo.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Welcome to the Chris Cuomo Project. And here's what we need to see in this, okay? Him giving up on the domestic economy, him trying to convince you that it's really just about Iran as an existential threat is not only what we would call a straw man argument back in the day, but is a crazy political argument. malpractice mistake. Okay? Basically, this is what the administration has come down to. We fucked up the economy. All of the metrics, all of the data coming in are confirmations of us making worse what we
Starting point is 00:01:48 promised to make better. Purchasing power, the price economy, what do you see? Only eggs are an outlier. And do you know why? Because eggs going down is the result of something that had nothing to do with the inflationary pressures, as we understand them, with gas, housing, health care, food, everything except eggs. Why? Because the lie about eggs, the reason that they were focusing on eggs during the Biden administration was because of the avian flu, or the avian flu, whatever you want to call it, bird flu. There was a rash of bird flu that's still making its way through the country that totally decimated chicken stocks. They just didn't tell you that. I told you that many times. but that's why eggs spiked under Biden
Starting point is 00:02:33 and eggs are a great familiar metric for everybody so now the avian flu is still moving its way through but it's not as bad as it was I mean now where I live there's still Canadian geese dropping dead all over the place we're having to bury them by the hundreds in the beach but egg prices have rebounded from the contagion so what does that mean well other than eggs that's why they keep saying well eggs are down well eggs are down
Starting point is 00:03:00 Why? Because it wasn't related to everything else the same way. So now, all of the prices that matter are going the wrong way. Inflation is going the wrong way. And yes, the Trump administration just lied to your face about it. They just lied to you about inflation. Why? Because they think you're stupid. And that's a big part of the politics of persuasion is assuming that you'll just want to hear something and like it. the reason this trip was over before it started is because by admitting that this is about anything other than the American economy is just quitting on what's going to matter in the midterms. Of course you have to consider the American economy. He says he's going to China to talk trade
Starting point is 00:03:45 and that he wasn't even going to talk about Iran. He can't even keep his message straight. Why? Because all he's trying to do is this. Look over here. Look over here. Look over here. Look over here.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Wait, no, that's no good. Look over here, look over here. That's it. That's it. He doesn't have any better ideas. Barack Obama sucks. Fake news. News sucks.
Starting point is 00:04:05 They hate America. If you think the regime is winning militarily, you hate America. First of all, nobody thinks the regime is winning militarily. They think that they're surviving, and of course they were going to survive, you said when you went in there alone, without a coalition and without congressional approval, you started a war unilaterally that these punk-ass bitches in your, party in Congress are letting you get away with. They won't even work. They'll run away from Congress instead of voting as the law and the U.S. Constitution demands they do. That's how bad the system has gotten under Trump. You did it under a false premise. Oh, well, they were weeks away from having a nuclear weapon. Bullshit. Okay? Bullshit. Why did you go in then? I think he went in
Starting point is 00:04:56 in because he got bad information about how easy it would be, that they thought it would look strong, and they thought that it would be a distraction from what's happening here at home. So now they want the proposition for you to be. It doesn't matter what's happening at home as long as we keep Iran from getting a nuke. Mouth breather. See, those people have like that lower jaw that comes out. That's how stupid you have to be to accept that proposition. You have to have an underbite.
Starting point is 00:05:27 I have an underbite. People with underbites are upset. Shut up. Focus on what matters. Which is being a critical thinker, being smart. All of the economic metrics are going the wrong way. Purchasing power is going the wrong way. We just had the CEOs get a 20% increase between 11 and 20% when the workers are barely keeping up with inflation.
Starting point is 00:05:50 This is about choices and what you reward. The president was right when he said, I'm going to go after credit card interest rates. I'm going to go after the health care bigs and have him come in here and read him in the riot act. He just didn't do either. Why? Because he doesn't want to take them on.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Because he can't. He doesn't know how. And he doesn't really think it works for him. What does that tell you? No, I'm not considering the effect on the American economy before I go to China. Really? All I cared about is the Iran nukes.
Starting point is 00:06:16 That's it. You think you're going to win the midterms on that? The Democrats wanted you to get killed by the Iranian regime's nukes. Oh, so now. not only did they have a nuke, but it was a nuke that could reach here. Oh, that's good to know. These are lies.
Starting point is 00:06:30 These are lies, and that doesn't mean I want the regime to win, or I think it's winning, or that I'm in any way in favor of this bunch of Islamist despots, these zealots, these extremists, of course would be better off without the regime in Iran. But that was never even in the planning, let alone in the execution of the plan. He said, I'm not removing the regime. you're always going to wind up with a deal. Who knows how many innocent Iranians are being killed right now? Who knows how much hardship this situation is spreading
Starting point is 00:07:02 and how many people it's going to turn against us? We have no idea. This was thought up by stupid people in a stupid way. And that's why the midterms may be a slaughter. Why may be? After everything I just said? Well, because in the marginal polls, Democrats are barely up over the margin of error for the midterms.
Starting point is 00:07:23 With everything being so bad, how? Because Trump sucks isn't enough. How are you going to make it better? We're exhausted of which side is worse. We get it. We get it. We can't trust anybody. We can't trust anything.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Nothing works. Everything's terrible. We get it. We get it. What are you going to do about it? Trump sucks? He's not even on the ballot. Why should we give you the power, Democrats?
Starting point is 00:07:46 Because they're Nazis. They suck. Not enough. It's not about whether it's true or not. It's not enough. how will you do it better? Socialism, it's the only way you blow it. Okay, and I don't want to lay out for you
Starting point is 00:08:00 the differences between socialism and democratic socialism or social democracy. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what the model is. That's not what it's about. It's about messaging. How are you going to make things better for workers? How are you going to make things better for the many? It's not complicated. There are plenty of ideas.
Starting point is 00:08:18 I mean, I keep giving you two of the real ones. The real culture war is, I'm going to change the algorithms. Our political speech cannot be magnified only on the basis of provocation. That can't be the only thing that you value within your algorithm. You can't just feed us the worst ingredients. You can't do that with any food, right? They took out trans fats.
Starting point is 00:08:43 They take out these different things. You've got to list of nutritional information. You've got to be transparent. Algorithms got to be the same thing. You've got to get some semblance of nutrition. when it comes to political speech. It can't be that the algorithm is designed to play to what just makes people angry and provocation.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Can't be. You got to regulate it. You regulate it over the air, radio, TV, you regulate cable, you have standards, you have none for these people, it's bullshit. And it is no coincidence that the people who benefit from it are getting off the plane with Trump in China, which, by the way, is another reason this trip was over before it began.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Because to the Chinese, when you show up with a group, it means you're not strong enough to stand alone. And by the way, who's interest to those people represent? The AI economy, who all want more ingress into the Chinese markets and to do more of what they do here, there? It's one of our last dominant industries. And you're going there with Elon, the asshole?
Starting point is 00:09:40 This trip was over before it started. It was over as soon as he said he doesn't care about the American economy. Support for the Chris Cuomo project comes from Seoul. Now, listen, I don't think Booze is going to get your, what you really need. It doesn't work for me. I have a drink occasionally, but really just under social pressure,
Starting point is 00:09:59 which is a terrible reason to do it. But I look to soul more and more, and I'll tell you why mood gummies work for me. And their drinks work for me also. So when I want to have a beverage, an adult beverage with my friends, I can grab one of souls. And I can get that two drink buzz
Starting point is 00:10:16 without any of the bad things that come along with alcohol. And being drunk, okay? I don't even think the buzz is even similar, but souls out of office THC gummies and their beverages are a great way to change your mood to give yourself a little relaxation, a little brain vacation. It is a wellness brand that makes delicious hemp-derived CBD and THC products, and they are safe. I've never had anything but good experiences, and they have different levels. I use like the lightest one. I don't know why, but like chemically, it turns out I'm kind of a lightweight.
Starting point is 00:10:51 I get very easily affected. And so I don't need much. But they have three different formulas for three different moods, three intentionally crafted products for you. So whatever the moment, there's a soul mood gummy to match. Make today a good day. And get yourself some soul gummies. Right now, soul is offering my audience 30% off your entire order.
Starting point is 00:11:14 You just go to getsole.com, getsole.com. Getsole.com and use the code Cuomo. 30% off if you use the code Cuomo. Tell him I sent you. And here's what you got to remember. This is what the game is going to lose to. You and I agree on most things. I don't care if you're a maggot or if you're a radical lefty, zealot.
Starting point is 00:11:45 I don't give a shit where you fall in terms of this binary battle to the bottom. you and I agree on the overwhelming majority of things, what we want for each other, what we want for our kids, what we want for our professions, what we want for our economy, what we want government to be doing. The rates of where people agree are 75, 80, 85, 90% of Americans
Starting point is 00:12:15 want government to work on compromises to fix fundamental economic situations. then why doesn't it happen? Because the few are dominating the many. The wants of the few, the collection and keeping of power for the few, the people in the parties, the people in power and the parties,
Starting point is 00:12:38 is dominating the interests of the many. That's why. You and I are not natural adversaries. We're not. We're natural allies. Every data point tells us. Remember, people saying we're more divided than ever doesn't mean the same thing as saying
Starting point is 00:12:59 they want to be more divided than ever. And that's a fundamental distinction. Yeah, we're divided. Why? Because that's all social media is feeding us. That's all the parties care about. You see what I'm saying? That's what works for them. But they are doing it in opposition to the dominant dynamic
Starting point is 00:13:18 within our society, which is most of us overwhelmingly want the same things and want it done the same way, want the same thing out of government, want it focused on the same things, and in the same ways. Well, then why isn't it happening? Now you know. Now you know. It's this closed loop of what works for the few in the fringe and the magnifying and the
Starting point is 00:13:40 algorithms and the parties and the media. It's all for them and it's all about them, not you. How does that change? it's hard it's hard and this president ain't going to do it the people who voted for him were not necessarily wrong about what is wrong and what needs to change they were wrong about his ability to change it and that should be clear now he spends like a drunken sailor he cut the amount of revenue the government is getting he's letting the corporations get away with whatever they want healthcare is a perfect example of that the ACA sucks okay repeal it and replace it nothing crickets i have
Starting point is 00:14:22 ideas concepts of a plan nothing they can't even pass the subsidies 80% of us want them passed nothing government is still partially shut down congress isn't even working they won't even vote on the war powers resolution he has made the inertia worse he has made the division worse you know it I know it. But Trump sucks is not enough. You're going to have to say how you'll make it better. You have to. Why?
Starting point is 00:14:49 Because that's what everybody wants. Every data point tells you that. This has run its course. The reason his trip to China is over before it even started is because he negated the only premise that matters to the majority, which is it better be good for us economically. And his idea of, yeah, I'm going to let them build a lot of their corporations here, a lot of their factories here. Wait, what? I don't want you working for China.
Starting point is 00:15:12 China, do you want me working for China? Fuck that. Now, another reason it was over before it even started. China saying, and even the magafoke are saying this, China is going to want to talk about in exchange for what they do in Iran for us, we've got to talk about Taiwan. That tells you everything you need to know. Why? What is Taiwan about? Taiwan is about the ability of a more powerful entity to restrict the freedom of a smaller one. Well, you know, the United States already said that they wanted Taiwan to be part of China. Yeah, in 1940 something. And we did it, not to give it to China, we did it to take it away from Japan.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Just Google it. Do your homework, man. These people fucking lie to you. Do you understand? You got to know what you're talking about to know how you want to feel. about it. Taiwan wants to be independent. America has obvious strategic interests in their independence. That's why Joe Biden said, yeah, we would go to war to protect Taiwan. Why? All right. Take a look. Let it be debated. Let it be understood. But here's what you need to know right now.
Starting point is 00:16:33 The Chinese putting Taiwan on the table to help in Iran means what? They see America going into Venezuela, chasing out the Chinese who are doing a lot of business down there. Literally. While the Chinese government representatives were in town meeting with Maduro, they came in the Americans and did what they did. Now you're doing it again in Iran. And to the Chinese, that means, all right, so it's okay to do a naked power play and take over a weaker place. Great. Let's talk Taiwan. That tells you everything you need to know. And the problem is, I know that Trump's guys are saying, well, there's room to talk. No, there isn't. No, there isn't. Either the Taiwanese,
Starting point is 00:17:14 have the right to their own self-determination or they don't. The Chinese don't want them to have a right to their own self-determination. What is Trump going to do there? Anything he gives is an existential give for the Taiwanese. And by the way, he doesn't have any right to give it anyway. What he'd be saying is America won't get involved. And the irony is,
Starting point is 00:17:37 that would be a very consistent move for Trump, the campaigner, because he said these foreign entaglements are killing us, man, blood and treasure for nothing. Let's just stay out of it. That was what Trump was saying. You may like it or you may not. But now he does the opposite. Venezuela, Iran, now Cuba.
Starting point is 00:17:55 I mean, it's crazy. Why? Because it's easy for him to use the U.S. military. He just doesn't really understand the flex. Did it in Venezuela. Oh, great. Let's do the same thing in Iran. But Iran's nothing like Venezuela.
Starting point is 00:18:09 Obviously, they forgot to tell him that or he didn't listen. Shame on them? No, the buck. stops with the president. The buck stops with him. Okay? It's a poker term and it makes sense because this guy's gambling. He's just taking stupid risks and hoping for the reward. So why isn't it over? Why isn't it over? Because it's not over until the midterms and things can change. If you get a deal with the regime, if price is moving the other direction, even if they're not as low as they were before the war, he'll still be able to say he's making progress. And if there's any kind of semblance of a deal,
Starting point is 00:18:48 even if it's weaker than the JCPOA is, he could still say I did more to keep him from getting nukes. It will work with the dummies. And there are a lot of dummies. There are not enough critical thinkers in our citizenry. That's why I'm doing something that's not a great business model, but it matters to me personally and professionally. Which is what? I talk to critical thinkers from Gen X primarily. Why? Because I believe that my generation has the best chance
Starting point is 00:19:13 to make the biggest difference. Why? Because we're the ballers. We're the parents. We're the professionals. We're owning the small businesses. We're in positions of power. We're making money.
Starting point is 00:19:26 We understand life. We understand vagaries of life that have been lost through technology. We know what life was like before the smartphones. We know what it's like to get hit as a form of
Starting point is 00:19:38 discipline and have it not be a crime. We know what real correctness is versus political correctness. We know a lot of things. We're old school and new school. And we're in our prime. And critical thinking was something that we were taught. Something you needed is a survival mechanism. And you didn't have doom scrolling. TV, the boob tube, was nothing compared to how destructive social media is and how how addicted our kids and the generation before them is and our, you know, the tween us, whatever it's called, the millennials, whatever. It was over as soon as China said, let's talk Taiwan. It was over as soon as Trump said, I don't care about the American economy.
Starting point is 00:20:25 All that matters is Iran getting a nuke. One, they didn't just about have a nuke, okay? And depending on who you believe, you haven't really even disrupted that that much. their potential for one. Did you vote for that? Do you know anyone who voted for that? No, you voted for the domestic agenda, for America first. This trip was over because he's not going to solve Iran.
Starting point is 00:20:52 All they want is the oil. And if we can sell them American oil, great, great. Might that help in the Iranian situation? Yeah, it might. It might not, but it might. Why? Why wouldn't it? Well, if the Chinese are getting the oil from us, and they don't really give a shit about the Strait of Hormuz,
Starting point is 00:21:07 so why would they get involved over there? Well, the deal would be, we'll sell it to you, but you've got to tell Iran to open up the strait, but why would the regime be listening to the Chinese if the Chinese aren't buying their oil anymore? You see what I'm saying? It gets complicated. It's not as simple as Trump wants you to believe it is.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Well, he's going over there. He's going to make trade deals. What kind of deals? Again, putting Chinese factories in America? No thanks. Finding ways for the tech bros to make more money off China. while they're outsourcing the jobs and losing the jobs for American workers, no thanks.
Starting point is 00:21:40 I don't want to reward those motherfuckers anymore than I absolutely have to for what they do for us in exchange. I mean, who are we setting this up to win here? Seriously, who wins? Who do we want to win? Trump, his sons? You know, I can't get past the disgusting hypocrisy of you guys going after Hunter Biden for what he did,
Starting point is 00:22:03 which was wrong, by the way. The way Hunter conducted himself and used his father's name was wrong. but you don't give a shit about the Trump's doing it right in your face and consistently buying up companies that have government contracts, getting off the plane in China to do deals with the Chinese while arriving as part of the American retinue? What the fuck is wrong with you people?
Starting point is 00:22:28 Do you want to drain the swamp or you want to add more and bigger alligators? Support for the Chris Cuomo project comes from I Restore. Now, I Restore is really, really good when it comes to regaining your hair game and making it strong. Okay? Now, I do the Fulmonte, the Restore, the I Restore Elite, the serum, the conditioner, the shampoo, the shampoo. I use it all. I use the bike helmet with the LED lights. And I think it is all coming together to kind of keep me not looking.
Starting point is 00:23:06 You know, too much like my brother. It's bad enough as it is. But they have a whole kind of program to put together that will help and give you the best chance of having your hair stay and maybe some new hair come. IRIS store has been leading the way in red light therapy for over two decades, helping shape the category with clinically backed devices trusted by over 500,000 customers worldwide.
Starting point is 00:23:33 And the I Restore Elite is the advantage. laser hair growth system that I'm talking about. That's the one I use with 200 LEDs. And it's easy. You put it on. It looks like a bike helmet. You just push a couple of buttons. It takes 15, 20 minutes. You're good to go. And I've never had anything but, you know, non-events as far as using it. I Restore is kicking off their Memorial Day savings event with some huge discounts on their red light therapy devices.
Starting point is 00:23:58 So right now, you can save on customer favorites like the I Restore Elite Helmet and their Alumina face mask. you go to iristore.com and use the code chris, you're going to get a nice discount. And you'll also give your hair and skin an upgrade. But use my name and get a deal. Check out iristore.com. Look, I get the pinch for MAGA. You weren't wrong about what was wrong.
Starting point is 00:24:29 In a lot of ways, you were right about what was wrong. But you made the wrong choice to make it right. And now you've got to own that choice. And I get it, you don't want to own what's wrong. You don't want to say I'm to blame. I'm not to blame. Yeah, but Trump made things worse. So let's agree on that,
Starting point is 00:24:44 that things are gotten worse, and we need people who can make it better. And you'll have the biggest coalition in recent political history. Let's just all agree on what's wrong and that we need someone who wants to make it better and seems to have any kind of chance of doing that. Reward those people, reward that.
Starting point is 00:25:07 This trip was over before it started because he's going in there with nothing to really offer that makes any of the situations that matter better. The Chinese aren't the answer to our purchasing power. Unless he makes a deal there that you're going to stop making things in China and you're going to start buying those things from America and not from American companies but Chinese companies, no, no, thank you, from American companies,
Starting point is 00:25:32 American-owned, American profit centers, American workers. All right, now we're talking. but not a Chinese company. I'm not working for the fucking Chinese. You shouldn't either. Why? Are you anti-Chinese? Yeah, I am.
Starting point is 00:25:48 I think the Chinese people are bad? No, of course not. What do you think I am? Some bullshit podcaster? Oh, wait, I am a bullshit podcast. But I'm not like all the other ones. Why? Because I'm not going to just demonize people for my own profit.
Starting point is 00:26:04 I believe that the CCP is a problem. Why? Because they're communist. and they're just about the agglomeration of power and putting down America and its Western values. Oh, well, maybe there's a better. Go live in fucking China. Have fun.
Starting point is 00:26:20 No thanks. Oh, and by the way, you lefties who are like, you know, socialism, communism, blah, blah, blah, blah. Stop. All right? If you care about the things you say you care about, go attack the Chinese for having a million Muslim minorities in cages. A million of them.
Starting point is 00:26:39 Go deal with them and stop yelling at Jewish kids in front of synagogues and shining lights in their faces and intimidating people because of what they believe and because of their identity. I thought you were against that. But now you're quiet about it. And now you want to say, maybe the Chinese have us better. There's China maxing bullshit. They've got a million ethnic minority Muslims in cages.
Starting point is 00:27:08 What else do you need to know? They have no freedom. there is no freedom of press there is no freedom of speech what are you talking about there are people living in squalor by the gazillions over there
Starting point is 00:27:21 the fuck are you talking about okay China is not the answer to our problems they are the root of some of our problems but this trip was over we goes with the tech bros they want to talk Taiwan when we're trying to get out of Iran
Starting point is 00:27:39 he doesn't care about the domestic financial situation and he may give them companies. Look, you want to sell them oil great. It gets complicated in terms of how it helps or doesn't help with the situation with the regime. But again, all of these things are of Trump's doing. Okay? Iran never happens without him.
Starting point is 00:27:58 He's the one who got out of the deal. That's when they started enriching the uranium. Oh, no, we don't know the timeline. Yes, we do. Yes, we do. They've said it. Nobody has countered it. And we know what precipitated it.
Starting point is 00:28:10 When Israel started bombing them in 2021, doing their targeted strikes, it pissed them off, and they just started enriching in a whole new way. That's what the consensus opinion is. We've had nothing to counter that, except Hegseth saying they were just weeks away from a nuclear weapon. We got in there in just the nick of time.
Starting point is 00:28:29 Oh, but it wasn't dangerous enough to take out the regime. They can stay, but their ambitions can't. Does that make sense to you? Think about it. We're going to leave the terrorists in power, but we're going to take away their ability to have a nuke. How? If they want one, what are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:28:47 Oh, well, they're going to have to agree. The terrorists? It used to be we won't even negotiate with terrorists. Now we take their word that they'll stick to a deal that they've never done before. That's MAGA. That's Trump. That makes sense. Well, all that matters is that we keep them from getting a nuke.
Starting point is 00:29:03 You're not keeping them from getting one. We don't even know that you've diminished their capacity to get one. And now you go to China. Part of it is a distraction. part of it is a play at a solution at progress. How? You walk in there with a group of people that make you look weak, that are there for their own interests,
Starting point is 00:29:26 including your shit-ass family. What do you think is going to get better from this? You know there's at least, let's be generous, a 50-50 chance that the president's going to lie about what happens in the meeting. Why? Because you reward him for line. Because every time he lies, you say, so do you. That's where we are.
Starting point is 00:29:50 That's where we've gotten. That's where things stand. This trip was over before it started. And all that matters is what's happening back here at home while he's over there. And the answers to what's happening here are largely not over there. And by the way, more than anything else, President Xi wants to see if he gets a freebie on Taiwan because of how desperate we are in the situation with the regime. He has the leverage.
Starting point is 00:30:17 America has leverage too, but not that president can play, this president can play to right now in this moment. Why? Because what do the Chinese need, fuel? We can give it to them. We can sell it to them. But they can get at other places that they'd rather to instead of us. Otherwise, they'd be buying it from us.
Starting point is 00:30:36 That deal would have been done already. Why hasn't it? Because they would rather not be dependent on us the way we have allowed ourselves to be dependent on them. Do you know how much of our debt they own? Google that. The Chinese are not stupid. We are too often stupid.
Starting point is 00:30:53 We're in a stupid phase right now. We are doubling down on dumb again and again and again. And now you guys are talking about Cuba. What happened to America first? Oh yeah, but they're bad. They're communists down there. Oh, really? Cuba. Cuba's your threat.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Look, the Castro regime is shit. They deserve better. to make it better there is to open up the markets, open up tourism. The people will want more and more in that. Communism can't give it to them and they'll get rid of it. That's what America used to do to have regime change, not this stupid ham-fisted military exercises. There's no will for that. There's no need for that. Look how, where it is where has it worked out? Oh, well, it worked out in Venezuela. Really? Have you seen what's going on in Venezuela? Where did that oil money go, by the way? How come it's being held in Qatar instead of American banks?
Starting point is 00:31:48 Why do they get paid the Vig on it? You don't wonder about that, huh? You don't wonder about that? It doesn't make you curious? It doesn't make you go, hmm? This China trip was over before it started. The president telling you he doesn't even consider what's happening with the domestic economy. All he cares about is that Iran doesn't get a nuke is a lie.
Starting point is 00:32:09 It's a bait and switch to try to make you feel bad for caring about the economy that he said that he was going to fix because of this existential threat that doesn't really exist. And that doesn't mean I want their regime to win. It doesn't mean that I think they're okay. I think they suck, and I think it was crazy for the president to go into this saying
Starting point is 00:32:28 he was going to leave the despotic regime in place. I said that when it happened. Oh, so you wanted a full-out war, and now you're saying war is bad. You're saying two things at once. You just hate Trump. No, you're an idiot if you think that. You're not a critical thinker.
Starting point is 00:32:42 You're a mouth-breathing part of this fringe minority that is just stuck in a bubble. Let's see what he gets done in China. For you, not for the fucking tech bros. Okay? I do not have any confidence in Elon Musk's ability to do anything for anyone but himself. But he's a genius.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Yeah, you ever hear the term evil genius? That's the thing also, right? Now I'm not judging the man's character or his heart. That's not my place. But what has he done? Doge. How'd that work out for us?
Starting point is 00:33:18 Not so much, right? Come on. Twitter? Yeah, that's really better. It's the worst social media platform of anything I've ever seen. You'd be better off being on Pornhub all day long. Much better.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Although Twitter is largely becoming Pornhub. All I get sent is stupid, masqueraded fake accounts selling all kinds of stupid shit. I'm sure you do too. This trip was over before it started because there's no plan once again. Support for the Chris Cuomo project comes from Hymns. Starting point is 00:35:22 I want America to win. I don't look at it in terms of, is this bad for Trump? I want Trump to lose. Trump sucks. I want to not say his name so much anymore. He won the election. He won it with a mandate that he is underserving, apparently on purpose. I don't know if it's, I don't know if it's incompetence or,
Starting point is 00:35:45 wanting to see America fail. I don't know what it is. I don't know. But it almost defies logic. How many bad choices he's making? Like, how is it not intentional when you keep doing dumb things? You keep making things worse
Starting point is 00:36:04 and thinking you're making them better when you know you don't think you're making them better. You're just saying it. Who does that? Who does dumb shit that makes things worse and pretends they're making it better when they know they're not. Who does that?
Starting point is 00:36:22 This president, this administration. Oh, you want Iran to win? The fuck I do. I want the Iranian people to win. I want them to get their country back. But China's not going to make that happen, not in any real way. Why would they?
Starting point is 00:36:39 Why do they want to help us? They want to help themselves. Oil may be a part of that in terms of who's selling it to them and whether America can get in on that. that'd be great for America. But you better be very suspicious of this. Now, skepticism is a form of intelligence, but it's a low form. You've got to be a critical thinker.
Starting point is 00:36:56 You've got to do the research. You've got to dig into the nuance, the French word for shades of a color. Because it's not black and white. It's nuanced. It's shades of these things. Selling oil is good, but then they don't have as much leverage with the regime. If they're not buying their oil, then the regime, you got to play it all out. You got to play it all out.
Starting point is 00:37:16 We're going to bring manufacturing back to America by having Chinese factories here. No thanks. That's not a thing. That's not a fix. This trip was over before it started. Why? Because he's going there saying he doesn't give a shit about the domestic agenda. Oh, well, he only says that.
Starting point is 00:37:32 He doesn't mean it. Shut up. Words matter. Okay? And we're seeing that all too often what he says winds up corresponding with what he does or does not do. Okay? And there is no universe where the American economy doesn't matter because the biggest existential threat to America,
Starting point is 00:37:51 the irony is that while you're going to China, who's supposed to be the biggest existential threat, you're saying the biggest existential threat is the regime in Iran. I mean, how many times are you going to be lied to before you start believing your eyes and your ears? This trip was over before it started. They're not the solution. They're the problem.
Starting point is 00:38:12 And Trump used to know that. Now he's just desperate for a distraction, for anything that can get him to a different place other than where he is. And he wants it to be easy. And he wants it to be good for him overall. And let me tell you, Trump is winning. He is fill in his pockets like we've never seen a president ever. Right in your face.
Starting point is 00:38:36 He's going to China because he's making money there. His sons are making money. His friends are making money. Just like back here. And you said you wanted it to stop and he's made it worse than ever. Let's agree on that. Because that's what moves us forward. I don't care how we got here.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Do we all agree that things are worse and that going to China is not the fix that he's selling it as? What will make things better here at home? Can we agree that that's got to be our focus? Can we agree that what's happening here is getting worse? And we need to elect people from wherever they're coming from, who are at least discussing how to make it better. This trip was over before it started. But we've got a lot of work that's still yet to be done,
Starting point is 00:39:22 and there is opportunity in that for the midterms. The president wants the proposition for the midterms to be. All that mattered was keeping them from getting a nuke, and I did that, and I'm going to lie to you about to the extent that I did it, and I'm going to pretend that prices sucking less on my watch is them being better than they were when I got here. And I'm telling you it's not going to work. but the Democrats are barely beating all that bullshit
Starting point is 00:39:44 because they've got to offer what will make it better. Trump's a Nazi won't get it done. That's why you're only up plus three. Explain to me why you're only up plus three otherwise. If I'm wrong and that Trump sucks is enough, why are you only up plus three when every economic metric is going the wrong way that matters to the majority?
Starting point is 00:40:04 Unless you're an investor. Why? You tell me. I'm telling you, that's the key question. And that is the explanation. What happens next? We'll see together. My brothers and sisters, thank you for subscribing and following. Thank you for getting me the opportunity to give you food for thought as a critical thinker.
Starting point is 00:40:30 All right? The challenges are real. That's why I'm doing all this. Sirius XM in the morning from 7 to 9, channel 124, News Nation at night. I want to brand it.
Starting point is 00:41:04 I want to brand it. Wear your independence. Go check out the merch. Buy it and let people see you're a critical thinker, that you are different. Okay? You're a free agent. You're an independent.
Starting point is 00:41:15 The problems are. real. We will get through them together. Let's get after it.
