The Chris Cuomo Project - Trump’s State of the Union Proves He Has No Answers

Episode Date: February 26, 2026

Chris Cuomo breaks down what Trump’s State of the Union actually revealed — and why the biggest takeaway wasn’t the applause lines or the outrage, but the absence of real solutions. Cuomo argue...s that beneath the pageantry and partisan theatrics was something far more consequential: a president who still doesn’t have workable answers on affordability, health care, economic pressure, or transparency. While the speech leaned heavily on symbolism, cultural flashpoints, and partisan contrast, Cuomo says the real test is simple — who has a plan that improves everyday life? He also critiques how Democrats responded, why performance politics won’t win the midterms, and why Abigail Spanberger’s rebuttal offered a clearer model for how to move forward. Starting point is 00:00:00 If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens. Isn't that a shame? You should be ashamed of yourself, not standing up. You should be ashamed of yourself. Guess what? You just saw it. Now you know. The president doesn't have the answers. he does not know how to fix what is wrong. That's why he's trying to pretend
Starting point is 00:00:42 that reality isn't what you see it as to distract you with other things. Everything you need to know was just laid bare in that state of the union. It's design, it's distractions. Oh, look, they didn't stand up. It's not about who stands up. It's about what you stand for.
Starting point is 00:01:04 And that's the opportunity he's, the opportunity for us to get to a better place. Forget about winning the midterms. It's so obvious now. Don't you see the opportunity here? He laid it bare. All the affordability issues. How he framed them.
Starting point is 00:01:22 How he tried to reject them. How he tried to reject reality. What he has on health care. What he thinks about taxes. What he thinks about all of the big issues. He hit most of them, except Epstein, where he ignored the survivors in the room. but we know why the DOJ literally hit allegations about him in violation of federal law.
Starting point is 00:01:41 No one's even talking about it on his side. Why? Because they're overwhelmed. They're overwhelmed because they don't have the answers. And in that, what you saw in this state of the union is an amazing opportunity if you see it. I'm Chris Cuomo. Welcome to the Chris Cuomo Project. We all watch the state of the union.
Starting point is 00:02:08 or you should have. Look, splitting it, doing the bad bunny thing that the Democrats did and having their own thing. I don't love the look. Why? I think that you got to hold on to our traditions. You've got to hold on to our institutions. You've got to believe in them. You've got to believe in making them better, not just tearing them down. And I think that this was an extension of that. I get the rejection principle.
Starting point is 00:02:29 I get it. I get it. I get why you don't want to suffer any more Trump. You don't want to be perceived as doing anything to get along with him. The nonchalance, the not taking it seriously. I saw it. Look, you have all gotten the memo. Every Democrat lawmaker there last night when he would be talking was like this. I get it.
Starting point is 00:02:58 You oblige him nothing. You excuse him nothing. What he says disgusts you. You are calling out in a way we have never seen before. Why? Because he has broken the rules. This is the disposition. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Now, I want to explain something to you about the pitfall with this, but I'm going to take you through it. I've spent a lot of calories on this, okay? You now believe you will suffer nothing. You will tolerate nothing. You will oppose everything. You will go at him, toe to toe, tone for tone, topic for topic, anywhere, any time, any place. That's the game plan. So what do we see?
Starting point is 00:03:45 we see more profanity we see more obvious aggressive muscularity fuck that dot dot dot dot dot dot you know what I mean more why because the crudeness is seen as
Starting point is 00:04:01 realness now you and I talk about invective on a regular basis where you'll say to me hey you know you don't need the curse words I am offended by you being offended by the wrong things the problem is not the word shit The problem is the shit idea that spawned the response of the word shit.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Focus on the idea. See what has the power. What is actually fomenting the division. Don't get caught up on the trappings, on the style points. That is the American mistake. That is the mistake where you sexualize your kids, you consume porn like nobody's business, you protect pedophiles on high,
Starting point is 00:04:42 and then go crazy when a nipple is shown in a commercial. that is called faux puritanism, okay? We're not them. We're not that good. We're not that pure. We're not that holy. That to say a curse word, oh, don't use that language.
Starting point is 00:04:59 It's so salty. Listen, focus on the real. We are a crass, angry, confrontational culture. That's who we are. We are a violent people, okay? Just look, who do you want to be? I don't know. That's who we are.
Starting point is 00:05:19 You got to play the ball where it lies. Now, I get the memo. I get it. Be muscular. Gavin Newsom. Bang. Your shitty feigned outrage. Bang, bang.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Trump, you're fucking punk. Bang. Bang. Wherever he is. I get it. I get it. However, however, I am not,
Starting point is 00:05:40 and I am not some, you know, high-minded. I'm not. I am telling you the midterms is not going to be about who is the saltiest, who's got the best line, who puts it in their face. No way. There is exhaustion, okay? I hear it. I hear it. In my viewers, I hear it in my listeners.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I hear it every day. Look, I care about Epstein, but, look, I care. I like seeing all of these people get the awards and, but, look, look, I care about. you know, law and order, and I don't like what I see with eye. But what's the butt? I'm drowning. My checks are getting so thin. The line between need and want is gone and all need all the time.
Starting point is 00:06:31 I'm worried. I really believe I'm getting caught up in these distractions, but every once in a while I snap out of it. And I realize, holy, nobody's going to do anything for me. That's the sweet spot. and in the state of the union, the president made it very clear he doesn't have the answers. He doesn't. To affordability, to how to bring back jobs, to how to deal with health care, all of the big things.
Starting point is 00:06:58 And forget about transparency and accountability. That is gone. I mean, they're not even talking about, he didn't even mention the survivors last night. They're not even talking about the fact that NPR and the, the, you know, the, The Oversight Committee both have shown that DOJ didn't just violate federal law like this in your face. They hid allegations about the president without explanation. I mean, we have lost the plot, okay? Forget about transparency.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Forget about draining the swamp. This guy has created an ocean, okay, with the biggest sea monsters in it we've ever seen. The guy is making money off corruption in your face like we've never fucking seen. It's all in your face. He pardoned a guy who admitted crimes in the crypto space, right? In the Bitcoin space after rewarding his sons creating their token and capitalizing them. In your face. And they don't even care.
Starting point is 00:08:08 And in that is the. the victory in that is the way to win, you see. Because if you think the American people are missing it, they're not missing it. They're not missing it. They're waiting for something better. So you can punch him in the face. You can beat him words for words, slight for slight. That's not what's going to move the needle.
Starting point is 00:08:35 I'm telling you, I know it now, all the polling I'm seeing. And look, why is this a skewed analysis? Because we're not talking about the presidential election. We're talking about midterms where you have a 90 plus percent retention rate because there are so few districts that are in contention and those that are in contention are settled in the primary by which fringe you want to go with. Why?
Starting point is 00:08:56 Because the two-party system sucks, is broken, and feeds extremism because it's a binary battle of the bottom of which side is worse. Support comes from Lucy. Now, I'm a cigar guy, okay? We all know smoking is death. We all know vaping is death, okay? So let's say you're Jonzin. Let's say you want nicotine.
Starting point is 00:09:22 You're a responsible adult, and you know the risks, and you want it. All right. You got to get it the best way you can. That's where Lucy comes in. It's 100% pure nicotine. Always tobacco-free, okay? Lucy breakers are nicotine pouches, and they have a little extra surprise.
Starting point is 00:09:41 They went with these little flavor and hydration aspects of it that definitely make a difference. I have people in my life who use them. I don't. I will never fake the funk with you. I told you that. But I know people who do. I've done my research on Lucy.
Starting point is 00:09:55 They are quality. They are committed. Their reviews are great. And the people I know who use them say they're better than the leading competitor. And you can figure out who that is for yourself. So Lucy is the only pouch. that gives you the flavor with the nicotine whenever you need it. 20% off your first order when you buy online with the code, Cuomo.
Starting point is 00:10:19 And if you don't want to wait, just go over to lucy.co forward slash stores, and you'll find out where they're selling it near you, all right? Look, I told you this at the beginning. I'll tell you again. I don't know what kids would be watching my podcast to begin with, but this is an adult thing. You've got to be of legal age, okay? you've got to be responsible to be in the nicotine game.
Starting point is 00:10:40 I think it's the only way to do it, and I want that there. And again, you know what happens when you take a product that has nicotine in it, right? It has nicotine. And nicotine can be addictive. We know that. Be aware. So, last night he made it clear he doesn't have the answers. The clips I'm looking at were to remind you and me,
Starting point is 00:11:06 you got to stop giving him the stick that he's beating you with. I get why you didn't want to stand. I get why you didn't want to be there. I get it. But it's not a good look. I don't think so. With your base, yes. But with the independence and the people who are going to decide these elections,
Starting point is 00:11:22 the free agents, the critical thinkers, I don't think it's a good look. I think it looks like grandstanding, like a style, not substance move. Abigail Spanberger showed you how to win. Abigail Spanberger was the best rebuttal I've heard in a long time. Now, rebuttal to what? The state of the union was a pageantry.
Starting point is 00:11:41 He went the longest ever. Why? Because he wanted the time and the control and celebrating all these Americans and getting you to not stand up every once in a while to now prove that you're the crazy ones. You're bad. That's his whole case against you.
Starting point is 00:11:56 You're crazy. You're crazy. You're bad. That's what we've come to. It's just, oh yeah, I heard you. You suck. That's all there is. There's nothing there.
Starting point is 00:12:07 care, okay? Not for what the people who are going to make the difference in the close races want. No way. They're not looking for which one of you guys is worse. So the secret is in there. And Abigail Spanberger was the key.
Starting point is 00:12:26 He doesn't have the answer for this. Here's what needs to be done. Here's how you do it. Here's how you get Congress. Congress has got to work. Congress has got to do this. Fix, fix, fix, fix. Repair, repair, repair, repair, repair.
Starting point is 00:12:37 that's how you win. She made it obvious without saying that this guy's a piece of shit, this guy's this, this guy's that, fuck you, blah, blah, blah. She didn't say any of that. She didn't need to. Why? S subtle. Why?
Starting point is 00:12:50 Because it's so obvious. When it's so obvious, where do you think the eye roll came from? The eye roll changed the need for like 10 paragraphs. You know, like someone's saying something. You're like, why? Because you don't need to say, yeah, okay. Yeah, you're really. that great. Yeah, okay. That's what people think. Yeah, okay. Yeah, I know. That's what you're going to do.
Starting point is 00:13:11 I'm sure they're going to say that to him. Okay. You don't need to say in any of it. You just and now you just do it with an emoji. That's what Abigail Spanberger did. This guy's a joke. This guy is beneath the level of what we need in leadership. And he has been rewarded because the left up until this moment has not realized that they are the ones keeping him in power. by empowering the farce, empowering the pretense, the state of the union, what's he got on health care? I'm going to put the money from one pocket into another. That will do nothing to lower costs.
Starting point is 00:13:49 He didn't even mention meaningfully bringing in the big shots. The best thing he's said about affordability in the last year was him saying, you know, I'm going to call in all the health care CEOs, and they'll come, they'll come if I'll call them, they'll come, you know, because it's me. And I'm going to bring them in, I'm going to tell them, you know, you're making too much, making too much. And we're going to do this with you or without you.
Starting point is 00:14:16 I'm not mocking his voice on purpose. I want this to stay a little serious. And then I'm going to, you know, I'm going to tell him, we're going to do it with or without you. Chef's kiss. Now do it. Why hasn't he? Because these guys are the real ones. This ain't transgender sports.
Starting point is 00:14:36 This isn't, oh, you don't clap the right way for Americans who we put in terrible situations and they survived. These are the real ones. They've got the jobs in your district. They're one of the biggest employers in the country and they're definitely going to say they're going to cut jobs if you do anything to them. They got the lobbying money to beat you by giving it to your opponent. They got the campaign spending to beat you in the primary. They are the real ones. This is the industry that got the U.S. Congress to pass a law that you are not allowed to negotiate price with them.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Think about that for a second. Big Pharma got Congress to pass a law that you cannot negotiate prices with them. That's the kind of power they have, okay? Nobody wants to take them on. He doesn't even have a plan. He has a title for a plan. I'm going to give you the money instead of the insurers. What does that do with what they're?
Starting point is 00:15:33 going to charge us. You think they charge us based off their administrative cost burdens? No, they build in the administrative cost burdens to layer their revenue exposure. You see what I'm saying? They create revenue streams with administrative costs. That's not going to lower it. Oh, no, but price transparency will. I'm charging you $100 for a bagel. Here, I just told you. How is that change? Well, I'm not going to pay $100. Okay, where are you going to go? We're not talking about buying a car here, by the way. See, one of the bullshit points about health care is that you've got this caveat emptor, buyer beware,
Starting point is 00:16:11 you know, scrupulous, rigorous analysis of what you're going to pay for and what you won't. You need this. Someone's sick. You're sick. You're desperate. They're charging you after you've had the service in a lot of cases. This is not...
Starting point is 00:16:31 I think I'll go without. Let me talk to somebody else. I'll come back to you. Not when your kid's got to go to the ER. Not when you got a lump. Okay? No, no, no. It's not how it works.
Starting point is 00:16:43 He doesn't have the answers. People need the answers. That's what was clear in the state of the union. Everything else is noise. That's the signal. And you saw it point by point. He didn't even mention the survivors in Epstein. How do you win on that issue?
Starting point is 00:17:00 Recognize that the war. war in this country is not right versus left. It's right versus wrong as a function of top versus bottom. Has it always been? Yes. This is an inflection point. Eat the rich. Let them eat cake.
Starting point is 00:17:18 All of these things. Even in America, we've had a problem with this from jump. You think people in American history, I don't know how much you decide to read about this. But I do. Why? Because it's so familiar. The patterns. Do you think that a majority of this country was happy that only property owners got to vote originally?
Starting point is 00:17:42 Really? Look, this is why I sell the free agent gear. This is why I want you to go to any of my social media or see the link that's on the page right now and wear your independence. Brand back. Message back. All right? You got the two sides hitting you all the time with you got to be, you got to be with us. Fielty, fealty. Right is better than left. Left is better than right. Or really, right is worse than left. Left is worse than right, because nobody's better. Everything's about what's worse. Where your independence, where the fastest growing part of the electorate for a reason. Yeah, it's a rejection principle. Yes, the most recent flushing gains is people leaving the Democratic Party because they're pissed off the same way that people left the Republican Party and infuse the independent ranks in the last couple of cycles. It's true. So yeah, you got
Starting point is 00:18:31 disenfranchised people, people who are pissed off. They're probably voting more with one side than another, but it's still an opportunity. It's still a step away from the game. That's why I'm selling the merch. And then we'll crowdsource the contributions, the money, and what are we going to do? We're going to give it to people,
Starting point is 00:18:46 and we're going to feel good about it. That's what I've been doing with the money, and that's what I'm going to continue to do with the money when you give me more of it, okay? And this is why I have the different subscriber levels for you guys on YouTube. Pick what works for you. You want access to me?
Starting point is 00:19:00 All right, pay for it, and I'll be there. And I'll help you in small groups. I'll help you one-on-one. I'm going to put content out there that I'm not going to show everybody else. Why? Because you've shown a commitment to me. I'm going to show a commitment to you. Whether it's with your besties or date night,

A weekend pass offers unlimited travel across the network on any weekend day or holiday for just $10. Starting point is 00:19:37 Go's got you covered. Find out more at go-transit.com slash tickets. I see what the path is. The path is to recognize what's wrong and be obsessed with what is right. Be obsessed with better. That's what Trump gave you last night. The gift of the state of the union was
Starting point is 00:19:57 he does not know what to do. He does not have the answers. We need another tax cut. We're going to fix health care. Everything's great. Stop complaining. That's what he said last night. Oh, and by the way, the Democrats are crazy.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Look how they don't stand up for the mother of the lady who got stabbed to death. And they're not even here. They don't give a shit. I don't like the way the Democrats are playing it. I think they need new leaders. I really do. Hakeem Jeffries is a quality guy. Chuck Schumer, I don't think that's true as much.
Starting point is 00:20:28 I'm saying that as political leaders, not as people. But Hakeem is a good. got to make an adjustment and he's got to make it soon. Otherwise, he's not the right guy for the moment. Why? People want a muscularity. They want aggression. They want answers. They want nimble. They want deft. They don't want to be on their back foot. They don't want to be tolerant. They don't want it. They're tired of it. They want to swing. How are you going to swing? Talk is cheap. You got to have better ideas. You got to have an alchemy on it. That was Clinton's gift. That was Obama's gift. That's Abigail Spanberger's gift. You guys picked the right.
Starting point is 00:21:04 person to do the response. Now, is she as flashy as you guys may want? No. And she is an insider. Look, I think there's benefit in that. I know the Democrats don't. I know they want a disruptor of their own. I know you guys are convinced that you kind of got to be like what beat you. And I get it. I don't agree with it, but I understand it. Okay? And that's more important in my business. It doesn't really matter if I agree with you or not. I don't have a necessarily better idea than you. I just think that looking at where the country is and what I hear from people all the time, stay on Epstein, of course, this was terrible. The DOJ violated the law to protect the president. That's what they did. I mean, this is disgustingly obvious and obnoxious what they did. Stay on it. Give people accountability.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Put out the names. What you did during Me Too that I believed was often unjustified is now justified. Put out the names, let people defend themselves, be fair. And let's see where it goes. I believe in all of that. but I'm telling you what he gifted you with last night in the state of the union was he doesn't have the answers. Do you? That is the key. On the idea that the Constitution is for American citizens, not for illegal aliens, and you don't stand for that? Why? Because you believe he's weaponizing the law to punish people who aren't necessarily a threat to society.
Starting point is 00:22:26 I got it. And you're not going to just stand and applaud him when he's been so hard. horrible on this issue in terms of how it's enforced. I got it. The American people cared about their safety and security and were led to believe and decided to believe that immigration was a metaphor for that. You can't come across as if you're disrespecting that reality because that's why Kamala got her ass kicked. It wasn't about Gaza. It wasn't about Gaza. Kamala Harris didn't lose because you guys are seen as being too pro-Israel. Look, you should be pro-Israel. Okay, Israel has a right to exist and defend itself.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Hamas is a bunch of scumbags and terrorists. Okay? They are doing terrible things to their own people on a regular basis. And the pro-Palestinian people don't give a shit. Why? They've got their own agenda. They've bought into their own binary bullshit. Okay?
Starting point is 00:23:24 That's not why she lost. That's not why. She lost because you guys seemed tone deaf to where the American people are. That's why Trump did all those congratulations last night and lionizing people. It was a smart move what he did. It showed that he connects to American values and concerns and did it by way of what? A grotesque distraction. There's opportunity in that.
Starting point is 00:23:48 The president is right about what's right. What? Struggle. Suffering. Overcoming. Surviving. Absolutely. Love it.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Service. Love it. sacrifice to the country, absolutely, exalted. Absolutely. But he's wrong about what's wrong, and he's wrong about how to fix what's wrong. And that's how you show true support for what is right and what we value in this country.
Starting point is 00:24:19 And that's the opportunity. He gifted you in the state of the union. It's not as simple as the emperor has no clothes. He's got clothes on. He's just got the wrong outfit on for the occasion. Okay. He's walking around in an ill-fitting tuxedo and he's about to get into a sprint. Okay. He's about to get into a running race and he's got a tuxedo on. And the metaphor is that he does not have the solution for people.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Do you? What is that? You want to be muscular about it. That's fine. You want to say that he's a piece of trash. Fine. You want to say that there's a reason they're hiding these allegations. Fine. you want to demonize how the administration does things. Fine. But you better come with more than that. Abigail Spanberger did last night. And that really should be the model.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Now, is she the right messenger? Probably not. I mean, she doesn't even have the aspiration as far as I know, but probably not. But that doesn't matter. Because you're going to find your messenger. You're going to have a process unless you're really stupid. You're going to have a really fulsome process this time, right?
Starting point is 00:25:29 Because you learn less than the last time, right? although I don't know if you're learning it if you think that Kamala Harris lost because of Gaza. But the opportunity in that state of the union is screaming at you. He has nothing but you're crazy. They don't get the trans thing. They don't get who we are. Oh, yeah, you do. Do you get who we want to be?
Starting point is 00:25:55 Do you get how we get there? That's the challenge. Look, let's be honest. I get that you believe you've solved for something in terms of style points in social media. I get it. But do you believe that that is going to get you where you want to be? See, I just don't believe it. And look, do I curse?
Starting point is 00:26:17 Yes. Do I use muscular language? Yes. Am I aggressive in my disposition and my demeanor towards opposition? Yeah, I can be. Okay, why? That's who I am. I'm not saying that that's the way to win.
Starting point is 00:26:33 I don't know that. That's not my burden. What do you mean? You're trying to do better all the time. Yeah, I am, but I know that what I'm doing isn't the best way to win. Picking a side is the best way to win. I just reject that because I know the sides are killing us. And if we were talking about what's right and what's wrong, you give me an issue.
Starting point is 00:26:54 I'm down. Give me an issue. I'll tell you what's right and what's wrong. Okay? health care what's right and what's wrong oh well you're allowing them to increase profits and putting it on the backs of the clients the customers the people take their money take their profit margin out force it oh that's not capitalism bullshit bullshit price controls are built in so many different ways and so many different businesses
Starting point is 00:27:26 capitalism is about choices. You pick winners and losers. You have been picking the corporations to win increasingly since the 1960s. That's what changed. Switch it back. It's another choice. What's right and wrong in health care is that they should not be in control of how they make money off of their clients. That's the change that has to happen.
Starting point is 00:27:55 give me another one uh gun control uh we have too many guns you're never going to get rid of them you have to do a better job of determining whether or not someone getting a gun has a problem we have to do a better job with that and we have to punish people who use guns in the commissions of crimes in a way that's that we haven't done up until this point now all right well what's another one uh from the state of the union last night great immigration enforcement we would would not tolerate from any other law enforcement what we've seen from ICE. You see those NYPD guys with the snowballs, how they handled it or how they didn't handle it? That's training and that's character.
Starting point is 00:28:36 And by the way, I would have been fine with them smacking the shit out of those guys. That was no snowball fight. Shame on the mayor of New York City for minimizing that bullshit. I've never seen anything like that in my life here. The nonchalance that they had. Why? Because of what's happening with ice. That's why.
Starting point is 00:28:53 this is the echo effect. You've got to train these guys more and better and teach them how to do the job in a way that shows respect for our Constitution. And that's what's right and what's wrong. Of course you enforce the law. Of course, if you're running a city and you have people who are here illegally
Starting point is 00:29:13 that were charged with crimes in a detention center, you give them to ICE. You don't release a bag in a community. You don't say no. Well, what does this New Jersey fuck ICE law? What are you kidding me? you work with them and you make sure that they do the job the right way and you prioritize the bad guys that's right and wrong this is easy if you do it that way because i have no competing agendas
Starting point is 00:29:35 okay uh how do you how do you do the economy what do you do there okay you pick the winners and losers uh give more tax credits don't mess with the tax brackets give credits to people who need them reduce the payroll tax on security social security increase the retirement age to 68 Why do you reduce the tax? Because that really affects middle-class earners and workers. Why? Because it's a wage-based tax. And a lot of these guys are getting capital gains in this Wall Street economy. So they're not worried about that, the payroll tax.
Starting point is 00:30:06 So decrease the payroll tax, increase the retirement age and Social Security. The problem goes away for a generation there. And take out the loopholes, make corporations, condition their tax cuts on the basis of health care is the biggest tax deduction corporations get. It's a dollar for dollar deduction. Put a cap on it. They'll now have to spend less. They'll negotiate differently.
Starting point is 00:30:28 The other tax cuts they get, make it formulaic tied to the ratio of pay to profitability. Well, that's anti-capitalist. The fuck it is. No, it isn't. It's a choice. You want the tax cut? You want this low tax rate that we're giving you, that we don't give individuals? Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:51 You better pay people. a certain ratio. What ratio? Figure it out. I don't know. Smarter people than me will figure it out. You got to pay people more. Oh, but it's going to cut into our profits. Okay. But it's going to cut into everybody's profits. So relatively, you'll still be in the same competition. And even if you're not making as much, an investors see that, they're still going to see that relative to the other people. You're still either better or worse, and they'll make their bets the same way. It's a farce that if you take the padding out of the system, the system changes. It's bullshit. Put it back to where it was. him plenty of money.
Starting point is 00:31:24 Plenty of money. Oh, you want to cap profits? No, I don't. I want to condition them. Just like you do now. Just for different reasons and different winners. Look, when you do right and wrong, this is simple. But it's not about right and wrong.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Why? Because right and wrong is hard because you're going to piss people off and you're going to make things that difficult. So what do you do? You do right left. They're worse. Why? That's easier.
Starting point is 00:31:48 Distractions. It's easier. That's what last night was. That's what the state of the union was. You've now seen he doesn't. have the answers. The key to winning is not being meaner than him, is not being saltier than him.
Starting point is 00:32:03 That's like Megan Kelly's game, right? Just bouncing around from one to one. And now you hear this one. She may have helped Candace Owens with her movie. I don't know if that's true, but why aren't you guys chasing her about it? Because you don't care. It's just about the latest outrage.
Starting point is 00:32:18 And letting her be a fire breather. Oh, Cuomo, she came at you. She came at me. She can't. When all I worry, I worry that someday I don't wind up meeting her husband in a situation where he has to own her words. That's the only thing that I think about what I hear her. Like someday, if I'm ever in the right place at the right time and I have an opportunity to say, what do you think about what she says?
Starting point is 00:32:44 That's a dangerous moment. But let her say what she wants. I know the business she's in. She's a professional provocateur. She's mad at somebody every second. You don't think it's fake? Seriously? you pay for that shit, you reward that shit, that's on you.
Starting point is 00:32:59 It doesn't bother me. It doesn't bother me. Maybe that makes me a chauvinist. Maybe that makes me oblivious. I don't know. I'm guilty of everything. But I know that I see it for what it is. And it's just bullshit.
Starting point is 00:33:11 It's just angry bullshit. And that's what you saw in the State of the Union last night. Look, how did they not stand? They're crazy. What do you stand for? You stand for the country, really? But you let your DOJ violate the law? Really? You stand for the country in law and order, but you let ICE abuse citizens without any kind of reprisals?
Starting point is 00:33:31 Really? You stand for the Constitution and drain in the swamp and you make money in a way we've never seen in a presidency before? Come on. He does not have the answers. All right? The game is exposed. The jig is up. The question is, will the Democrats seize the opportunity here? Or are they making a lot of? Or are they making? the mistake of just being would beat them at a time when people now have a different appetite they're tired of shit sandwiches they want something else who's going to change the menu in a way that provides what people really want which is change that matters in their everyday lives not in their feed on social media i'm chris quomo thank you for subscribing and following thank you for being open to what sounds like criticism,
Starting point is 00:34:30 but is really meant to be constructive in terms of getting us to a better place. The opportunity is there. It was made so clear in the state of the Union. Don't get caught up in the taste tests of who looked worse and where in this moment and that and bullshit stand and not. It's not what they stood up for during the state of the union.

Because I know that the moment is here. We are at a moment of change in history. and I want to be held to account on that of doing what I can to help.
Starting point is 00:35:32 Greatness is over for me. I'm not about being the best. I'm not in a game that I can win. I know that. But I can play and I can make a difference and I can expose who's playing you and I can help and I want to help. That's why I'm doing the radio.
Starting point is 00:35:47 That's why I'm doing this. That's why I'm doing nighttime. I'm busy, busy, busy. Why? Because I got to be busy because the game is against me because I don't have a team. I don't have a side.
Starting point is 00:35:57 I believe in the American people. I believe in critical thinking. I believe in exposing the bullshit. And I believe we can get to a better place. And I believe that you believe that too. And it keeps me going. So my brothers and sisters, we know the challenges are real. But it's all so obvious now that the people in power don't have answers to get to a better place.
