Starting point is 00:00:01 Well, hi folks, welcome to the Chris Voss Show podcast. Hope you're all back. I'm back. Thanksgiving holiday, kind of took a holiday, took like a week off, kind of needed that sort of recharge sort of thing. Not sure if it was a recharge or a de-charge. Isn't it de-charge when you eat all that turkey and then you lay around going, rubbing your belly going,
Starting point is 00:00:25 Oh, what have I done? It felt so good at the time, but the choices I made were poor. Why do I do this to myself every year? I used to have that problem after New Year's. I'd wake up. I'd start New Year's every year going, I'm not going to drink too much and have a hangover and start a new year have a hangover and start a new year with a hangover there's nothing worse than when you begin like a whole new year with a
Starting point is 00:00:50 hangover you're just like i thought i was gonna be different this year i've already blown it uh so yeah i mean it was fun i didn't i actually didn't eat too much. I actually ate a lot, but I didn't eat too much because for some reason it just was really good homemade food. Thanks to my family for putting up some homemade cooking. It's kind of nice to spend Thanksgiving with them for a change. Normally I'm in different states and they're largely in Utah, but I'm up here visiting, writing a book. And, yeah, it was kind of nice to spend some time with them and have a home-cooked meal. Actually, that's not true. In Vegas, I've got a really great friend that I've known for a long time, and she always invites me to the Friendsgiving.
Starting point is 00:01:38 And she hosts the Friendsgiving. So I usually have home-cooked meals over the last few years. So I've been totally homeless when it comes to eating out uh or having to eat commercial but you know a lot of times i've had to do it spend the holidays alone which isn't always fun uh but yeah a little bit of de-charge if you will uh eat that uh food that thanksgiving turkey that just makes you want to go take a nap and crawl up in the thing uh i'll tell you a funny story before you get in tech news two of my i had two interesting things happen over the holidays and i love these people um but one of my friends on facebook uh hopefully he's listening right now one of my friends on facebook made the post that he hates stuffing and to not judge him.
Starting point is 00:02:26 And I was like, dude, I'm not sure we can be friends anymore. Evidently, he has a texture problem with stuffing. Now, I kind of get that because one of my, I did when I was younger, if you make stuffing too moist, it's kind of gross. But you've got to, you just got to have good stuffing, man. It's like just about anything in this world, if it's prepared poorly, yeah, you're not going to like it, especially if the texture is displeasing because, you know, a lot of what we experience in food is not only taste but tactile, you know. And there's certain stuff that tastes really good but tactile-wise texture wise it's like really gross you're like but um you know there you go uh so um so it was funny we all piled onto his facebook post and
Starting point is 00:03:16 we're just like dude i don't i don't think we can be friends anymore i think we're gonna have to unfriend you i can't have friends that hate stuffing. I mean, you got to draw the line somewhere, right? I mean, who hates stuffing? Who? Like there should be, that should be a medical condition in the cycle, psychology, uh, annals of psychology, uh, doctor in a theory or schooling or, you know, whatever the hell they do in those colleges, you know, that should be like a study. Um, you know, if you, if you eat stuffing, I, you need to go get some therapy, man. You need to find out, you know, and then, uh, and then at Thanksgiving dinner, uh, one of my awesome relatives, uh, and I'll give, I'll give them a break. They are teenagers.
Starting point is 00:04:06 So I remember being a teenager having certain food dislikes. There were a lot of things that I disliked as food when I was a teenager. And I grew up and love them now. You know, like beets. Like I think most kids hated beets when they were kids. Now I love beets. They're really good. And they're healthy for you.
Starting point is 00:04:24 That's one of the reasons I eat them because God knows I've eaten enough crap in my life. But one of my relatives stated that she hated pumpkin pie. And I was like, what's going on with this Thanksgiving, man? And I jokingly said, I said, show me on the doll where the pumpkin pie hurt you. What happened?
Starting point is 00:04:45 Tell me the story. Let's get some help for you, man. Anyway, they're wonderful. I'd tell that as a joke. But seriously, though, what the fuck? This is the first Thanksgiving where I met a person who hates stuffing and hates pumpkin pie. Like, next thing you're going to tell me that you hate turkey? I guess it's a good thing i didn't spend uh
Starting point is 00:05:05 thanksgiving with uh vegans and there's nothing wrong with vegans i'm not throwing too much shade to my friends i've done the vegan thing i did a couple years that lost 75 pounds actually and was probably much healthier than i am now uh but uh you know that was that anyway guys let's move on to tech news chris we tuned in for tech news, not your stupid stories. Okay, I get it. I get it. I get it. Just calm down.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Just stick with me here. Roll with it. Just get, you know. Hopefully you're entertained by my stupid stories. You may be more entertained by my stupid stories than you are the news. So there's that. Anyway, I appreciate you guys tuning in. Hopefully you all had a safe and wonderful
Starting point is 00:05:45 holiday and if you didn't be blessed hang in there hope your Christmases get a whole lot better one thing I should mention Chris you should mention this one thing you should mention I don't know why I do my own audience voices because I can
Starting point is 00:06:01 because he can in third party I don't know it just seems more fun third party. I don't know. It just seems more funnier than that. I don't have a co-host for the show. So see what I have to do is I have to make my own co-host. I have to be my own co-host, which is good because I evidently from what I'm told, I have multiple personalities. I can't just decide which one it is.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Anyway, that's the main one. Kill, kill, kill. Anyway, I'm just kidding, guys. Don't be like that. And if you are like that, the main one. Kill, kill, kill. Anyway, I'm just kidding, guys. Don't be like that. And if you are like that, get some help. Don't be like Chris. All right, guys. Wow, clearly I broke something over the holiday.
Starting point is 00:06:36 That or funnier or stupider or both. I don't know. You be the judge. That's why you listen and I do this stuff. So one thing I should bring up, this is, let me see if I can find it here. Where's the Chris Voss Show tab on the browsers there? If you guys go to thechrissvossshow.com, you may have heard of this website. This guy runs the name Chris Voss.
Starting point is 00:07:00 He has a voice that's similar to mine. And evidently there's no internet right now. Are you freaking kidding me Wow okay so it's the internet is down so if you go to the Chris Voss show.com you'll see that we have posted a it's a 4 a.m. when I'm cutting the show, and evidently they've decided to do something with the Internet to improve its quality by cutting off my access to it. So, welcome to the show glitch. Let's keep moving, though. Let's keep rolling through it.
Starting point is 00:07:40 We can do this. We can do this. So, if you go to thechrisfoshow..com we have listed the best gifts that we recommend for 2019 and what we've done is we've taken all the reviews that we've done over 2019 and we put on a list of the best gifts that we love and appreciate we think they're the best gifts you can give now that's regardless of price uh certainly you know the one thing i found in life anything of value uh usually cost a fair amount of chunk of change or anything of uh uh substantial value uh comes with a lot of work so both if you need the work to get the chump change etc etc you know what i'm talking about looks like my internet, I guess, finished rebooting or whatever the hell they did at 4 a.m.
Starting point is 00:08:28 You ever notice that? They do that in the middle of the night to fix their stuff. So it looks like it's coming back up. So anyway, we profiled a number of stuff. So go and search for Best Gifts 2019 on The Chris Voss Show. We're going to be updating this list as we go through the holidays. So if you go to the list and you see the list there, bookmark it because we're going to keep adding products to this. We have CES that's approaching the beginning of January. In fact, we have the CEO of CTA,
Starting point is 00:08:57 which is the association who runs CES. Our good friend Mr. Shapiro is going to be on with us. You may have seen him last year, and he's going to be on this year, and all that good stuff. I can't pull the Internet. This is really throwing me off my base. And, wow, it's down again. So there you go. So what we're going to be doing is having the CEO of CTA, CES, on. And he's going to be on, I believe it's going to be the 18th.
Starting point is 00:09:35 And when he gets on, we're going to be talking about CES and everything else that's going on and what's going on with the show this year, all that good stuff. So this should be pretty fun. Gary Shapiro, he's the CEO of Consumer Technology Association, or CTA, if you're not familiar. They are the guys who run CES, so we're going to be excited to talk to him. We talked to him last year. He launched his book, and I hope he forgives me for getting what the name of his book is. But it's a book about Ninja and Marketplace and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:10:13 But he's someone you really want to listen to and see what his pulse is because of the association they run here in America. uh they take in um they take in uh uh run this giant association that uh is pretty much most of the vendors you see at ces etc etc and all that good stuff so let's talk about some of the facebook news fortunately i have it cached in my browser so i can see it right now um i you know i thought about just cutting the podcast and just going, oh, well, I'm just going to have to recut this. But I like what we did so far. So I'm just going to run with it, baby. Just going to run with it because that's the kind of guy I am. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:10:57 See, it's a journey. This is what it's all about, man. It's the journey. It's not the destination. Uh-oh. One of my computers reset reset so maybe that's a good sign maybe that's going to come back up for me yeah there it's back up whatever they're doing they're having fun in the middle of the night thanks xfinity and comcast uh thank god this
Starting point is 00:11:17 show isn't streaming right now holy crap uh so go to the chris voss show. Check it out. Let me see if I can get this pulled up. So I want to do a shout out to a couple of people that we were really impressed by. There it is. It's up and working now. Just got to work through these challenges, folks, the technical challenges. I do want to give a shout out, and these guys are probably going to make the list, but I need to give this seriously a couple more days of testing but i'm impressed with it so far initially right out of the box too um i just got to make sure that it's not um you know just because it's new i'm impressed by it you gotta you know kick the tires for a while to really test it out but we got uh the molecule and that's k-u-l-e at, molecule. It's a big air filtration unit.
Starting point is 00:12:06 They make two different units, a big one and a small one. And I've been wanting to try it since 2017. In fact, back then, there was a lot of fires going on in California, a lot of air pollution going on in California that was really bad. And I remember reaching out to them at the time. They launched this really cool product called the Molecule Air Filter System, I guess. And I reached out to them and I said, we really want to review your product. Everyone's been asking about it because their quality is really bad. And they said that they were sold out because they were a brand new company. They were just launching. They were sold
Starting point is 00:12:42 out, but they would get us in touch with one. And over the years I kept pinging them every now and then to say, Hey man, you know, we still want to test out that product. We lost track of, you know, one of the, one of the challenges we always have is these PR agencies turn over these folks and no one goes back in their old email and says, Hey, we should find out who Joe was talking to. So, um, we got lucky with the upcoming CS and announcing our new gift guide that we'd be doing for 2019. Got lucky, got in touch with the right people and they got us one of the units, uh, that will arrive Sunday. So we're about 24 hours or more into testing this thing. And I got to tell you, we're really impressed with it. It's probably going to make
Starting point is 00:13:21 the best gifts 2019 list. I'm going to give it a couple more days or a day or two more but right out of the box I've got a few different air filters here at the house that we reviewed they were pretty nice there but this molecule I gotta tell you it's really impressive it's molecule K u le at the end instead of the C U L E. Um, and, uh, it's really nice too. It's got a handle so I can carry this and I can put it next to me in the office and I can take it next to my bed. So the first 24 hours I slept with it next to my bed and it's sitting next to my chair at the office.
Starting point is 00:13:59 It gives us a really crisp, cool, uh, fresh air. And I'm really, really impressed with it. Right now, one of the problems I'm having is I'm staying up in Utah to write a book and the air and inversion here is really bad. Everything is very small valleys up here. And so the cold air and the smog holds the poison air down and creates this inversion layer. And it just kills your sinuses, your nose, your breathing, everything else. Not to mention, it's cold as hell here, so we have the hot air blowing, which is just suffocating for someone like me who's just living in a climate that isn't quite so extreme. I mean, in Vegas, it's a little bit extreme during the summer.
Starting point is 00:14:47 But for the most part, the rest of the year, you know, you can breathe the air, walk around, open the windows and stuff. It gets a little cold during the winter, but it's usually not too bad during the day. You can open the windows. But I've been loving this molecule. I'm really impressed with it so far, I've got to tell you. And I believe it's going to make the best gifts 2019 list.
Starting point is 00:15:08 So let's go through the list really quick and talk about what's on the list so that we can plug that as well. One of the things we plugged is one of our favorite companies, Master & Dynamic. I highly recommend you check these guys out. If Steve Jobs made headphones, they would make Master & Dynamic. I love this company. The CEO puts so much love and care into every aspect of this product, from the sound, I don't know what you call it, the sound staging,
Starting point is 00:15:37 the sound design, the sound quality, the sound spectrum. He puts so much into it. And these headphones are loved by some of the top artists around the world you'll see him a lot of commercials a lot of shows and stuff actually once you get familiar with them they're just a really super high quality product I've still got my original ones from five years ago and they still look almost new sound incredibly awesome and I got I just love them so good a master and dynamic if you get a chance to check them out. Master and Dynamic.
Starting point is 00:16:09 You can, of course, see these on the blog post we did called The Best Gifts 2019, the gifts we recommend from our reviews. Next up, anything from AT&T. We've loved AT&T for a lot of years. They do a great, incredible job for us they've always supported the Chris Foss show or you're viewed other carriers Sprint Virgin Mobile for Sprint bottom Metro you know what Verizon T-Mobile Sprint we've viewed all those different companies the one we've always come back
Starting point is 00:16:41 to is AT&T and I gotta tell you they just they just do such a great job this year reviewed the notes the galaxies and the uh pixel xl the pixel 4 xl uh which we're kind of impressed with the pixel 4 and its camera um there's some aspects of that phone that are awesome but uh not having the fingerprint was really a deal killer for us. Some of the battery life on it was kind of challenging. But, you know, I mean, you get what you pay for. So there's that. You can definitely buy a more expensive Galaxy and get a better experience.
Starting point is 00:17:17 But, you know, that's how life works. But you can go to AT&T if you're an iPhone fan, whatever, all that good stuff. Check it out. And, yeah, anything at AT&T, just go hook yourself up, and I think you'll hopefully be happy with it. The service, you'll definitely be happy with it. We love the service. DJI, DJI Osmo Pocket.
Starting point is 00:17:38 We fell in love with this camera at a show. I had a giant gimbal system system gimbal gimbal a giant gimbal system and I would attach to my phone we'd hook up all sorts of mics to it it was this giant thing especially when I was doing road shows and you have to pack all this gear and it's heavy as hell and it's giant and arduous and everything else the Osmo pocket we fell in love with it as a way to replace all that gear in fact it kind of is funny when i pull it out i mean like we're gonna record you with this they're like what and it's like no it's really good uh polar pro.com has got some great accessories for it too if you have an osmo dgi pocket uh they make great accessories at polar pro.com we got
Starting point is 00:18:21 some reviews coming out from those folks as well acer just delivers to their swift 5 laptop we're impressed with that as well you cannot believe how light this is every way i take it i hand it to people i go check out how light this laptop is like oh my god is there anything in here and then on top of that they think it's cheap like a chrome book because it's so light and i'm like but they're like it's really nice it's got this giant screen it's got this beautiful keyboard like an apple laptop and everything else like how much is this and they're like well the one version they sent us was like a grand you can of course get more expensive better ones uh but it's the lightest 14 inch clamshell notebook that weighs just 990 grams has a powerful nvidia graphics card latest intel core cpu and it's only 14.95
Starting point is 00:19:08 millimeters thin so there you go i gotta tell you it it's it's awesome it it's it's huge and it's light as heck and it's fast too it's pretty fast i think your swift 5 just has the i5 in it and it's fast so there you go uh what else do we have up next um think tank photo think tank photo just about anything you buy from think tank photo is really good they sent us recently in their um respective bag i think it's called retrospective bag uh all their bags are awesome we love our think tank photo bags be sure to check them out you know think tank photo.com saddleback leather is another company we profiled at best gifts saddleback leather products are so great
Starting point is 00:19:50 they have the model we'll fight over when you're dead reviewed them uh we love them and everything else uh great product to say can get into uh centrants uh this is a product that we use actually on the road and we review and we use to interview for the podcast on the road Centrance makes these great products it's basically entrance with a C at the beginning and they make these great products that are great for recording doing redundant recording backup recording everything else all in one place they give you like a little mini mixer you can use we love their products next. Next up is Lume Cube. We love Lume Cube products, uh, uh, from Litra Pro. You should check those guys out. Uh, they are awesome.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Litra Pro makes these really incredible, um, uh, what would you call them? They were these really incredible, uh, lights that you can use for camera recording, video recording, all that sort of good stuff. Even photography work for your phone. I love, love, love their product. And you should check that out as well. Withing sent us their really cool blood pressure device. This thing is really freaking awesome. Steve Jobs made blood pressure devices.
Starting point is 00:20:59 They would make the Withing. I'm really glad these guys went and bought the company back from Nokia. Nokia was running it in the ground and these guys have gone and taken it back and brought back the high quality that they had with their scales and everything else. I love my withing scale. And their products now are just amazing again. OWC, Other World Computing, of course everything these guys make is freaking awesome. Tons of products we're reviewing right now from them and have reviewed. We use ODBC all over my office if you come to my office desk you'll see the over the ODBC disk drive swaps you
Starting point is 00:21:34 can't see the SSDs we use on our computers but we love them what else is there that is in the units and stuff is all over my office when it comes to OWC. You've got travel hubs that we take and use, hubs for USB hubs. I forget what they call them. They're the hubs that plug in your USB. Use a lot of them for your Apple products because they only have USB plug-in. You have to plug in a hub so that you can take and plug in all your other stuff. Everything OWC makes is super high quality.
Starting point is 00:22:06 I can't recommend any of it more than anything else in the world. These guys just make high quality super products. Be sure to see the interview we did with their CEO years ago on the podcast. Pretty awesome dude and brilliant. Heston Q is another thing that made our list. We were pretty impressed with the Heston Q is another thing that made our list. Uh, we were pretty impressed with the Heston Q product, the, um, Bluetooth, uh, pans with the, um, heating pads that you can take them by. I forget what they call them.
Starting point is 00:22:33 Burners. Um, you can take them by that are portable. So that works really well. Very impressed with their product. Uh, we may be talking about nomadic. We're taking a look at nomadic had the best backpacks that we saw this year. Drobo of course, uh, will probably be added to the list. They made a really great product they sent to us as well. And then the Molecule, of course, we're talking about adding the Molecule to it right now. So there you go. So let's move into tech news. Let's talk about some of the tech
Starting point is 00:23:00 news that was out there in the world. But be sure to search for that post on the Chris Foss Show, and we'll be updating this post as we go through up until Christmas because there's still a lot of products coming to us from CES that we'll be launching that we're going to try and get you up on speed for. You may want to pre-order it, or maybe it's just barely coming out, or they're just barely getting to us because it's that Christmas cram. When you're a product maker, you've got to catch the Christmas, but sometimes you're just trying to get that thing to market.
Starting point is 00:23:29 So there you go. Let's go into tech news. Let's talk about some of the interesting things. A lot of cool things that happened today. Facebook unveils a new photo transfer tool, letting users transfer their photos and videos directly to other services, starting with Google Photos inireland kind of interesting uh they rolled out this new tool in ireland that allows people to uh transfer their videos and photos from facebook to google photos
Starting point is 00:23:57 you may ask yourselves why are they doing this and they're said they're going to expand it worldwide in early 2020 uh data portability according to a guy on Twitter named Tony Rom, says it best. Data portability is an industry-preferred solution to antitrust concerns, but it's also effective in places where people can port that data in the first place. So it looks like antitrust is probably a big reason they're doing that. They're under a lot of pressure from the EU for antitrust stuff. And, of course, this is one way they can do to take and make it. So that should be pretty interesting.
Starting point is 00:24:30 I was kind of surprised, but I'm like, what? That doesn't seem like a smart business idea. But now I get it with the antitrust stuff. This is kind of weird. U.S. proposed tariffs on up to $2.4 billion of French goods after concluding that France's digital services tax unfairly discriminates against U.S. proposed tariffs on up to $2.4 billion of French goods after concluding that France's digital services tax unfairly discriminates against U.S. companies. We also launched, I believe it was Brazil and Venezuela, I think it was.
Starting point is 00:24:56 So we introduced some more tax tariffs to those countries as well. We're just going to war with the whole world tariff-wise. I'm sure it'll work out. What's the old line? No one wins a trade war. Well, I guess we're going to, I guess, you know, one does not learn from history. The one thing you can, one thing man can learn from his history, as I always say, is that man never learns from his history.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Hopefully you can see the cyclical irony of that. EU antitrust regulators launched preliminary investigations to help Google and Facebook gather, process, and use and monetize data for advertising purposes. Looks like the ride's starting to come to an end for those guys. People are starting to close in. There's 47, I believe, attorney generals putting pressure on Facebook now and Google going after antitrust concerns. So, you know, they're going to go through that sausage run that Microsoft went through back in the day,
Starting point is 00:25:49 if you remember that, with the browsers. Fun is fun. Let's see. Tim Cook, Sataya Nadella, hopefully I'm pronouncing that correctly, is the C-N, and Sundar Pichai, I can't pronounce that rightly or know how to pronounce it rightly. Please forgive me. But they're the heads of the different Microsoft and Google,
Starting point is 00:26:12 so I know that information. They signed a renewed commitment to the Paris Agreement and urged the U.S. to stay in, joining 70-plus CEOs and U.S. labor leaders. You know, when government fails, private business is the people who have to stand up and make this stuff work. So. labor leaders. You know, when government fails, private businesses, the people who have to stand up and make this stuff work. So there you go.
Starting point is 00:26:30 This was pretty interesting that I saw today, and a lot of my friends on Facebook passed it around, and it became kind of a joke. You've heard us talk about Facebook's issues and how Zuckerberg's attitudes that, hey, everyone should be on Facebook and be able to have a voice. If you're a Holocaust denier, a pedophile, you know, whatever you can, actually they've, they've put the clamp down on pedos, but you know, other than that,
Starting point is 00:26:54 if you're a Holocaust denier, if you're Nazi white nationalist, you can run freely across Facebook and have groups and promote your hateful sort of thing. Good for you, not. So anyway, Facebook created what they called the Lion Bot. I don't know why you would call it Lion. Lion Bot might be better. It teaches employees the official company marching order talking points for responding to family and friends critiquing the company over the Thanksgiving holiday. So that's kind of interesting.
Starting point is 00:27:32 You know, if your company sucks so bad, you have to create a bot to combat your points. Maybe you should just stop being a fucking dick. This is my point. Maybe you should stop being a toxic company they should adopt that old Google thing don't be evil because I'm sorry if you're all you're like white nationalists and Holocaust deniers on your website yeah you are the problem you don't need to make a chat bot to discuss why you're
Starting point is 00:28:03 the problem you just need to deal with your stuff internally and kind of look at yourself and go, why are we becoming heinous? So there's that. So have fun. Report out the Huawei's latest Mate 30 handsets do not include any American parts. Huawei says its 5G networking gear is now america free thanks
Starting point is 00:28:25 to the u.s ban um i don't know that i really want to trust most of the software that's on it or how good it is for the amount of testing that's gone into it but um who knows can't be much worse than samsung galaxy bixby oh my god i just every time that thing updates, I'm like, maybe it got better. And I'm like, no, it's worse. Um, I love my Samsung galaxy phones, but I hate Bixby. If I find out who blocks Google now launcher on, on Samsung galaxy, I'm probably gonna punch them in the dick. Uh, if I find them, uh, there you go anyway uh what else do we have t-mobile debuts 5g across the u.s in 600 megahertz spectrum um which uh travels further than mm wave but has lower max data speeds
Starting point is 00:29:17 samsung one plus are debuting 5g phones on fr. So that should be interesting according to The Verge. And through September, TikTok limited the reach of disabled, fat, and confident and LGBT users in a misplaced bid to prevent them from being bullied. So basically, this is according to NetsPolitik with a K.org. So basically what they did is they buried him in the algorithm so they wouldn't be bullied. It seems really, I don't know. How much can you say about that being so stupid?
Starting point is 00:29:53 Oh my God. Wow. Okay. All right. Well, at least they realize or someone's pointed out that what they did was stupid. So there you go. Wow.
Starting point is 00:30:04 Meanwhile, you know know white nationalism and and uh holocaust scenarios are rampant on facebook way to go tiktok here's a great don't even get me started if that's an issue with the chinese government which it probably is uh it's been interesting to kind of see all these companies that have that have ownership or interest from the company called 10 cents which is largely owned by the chinese which is the chinese um and they've owned they bought into all these companies using that and in doing so they're exerting their uh muscle for the chinese government over these different things. So keep your eye on that ball. There you go.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Match Group screens for sex offenders on Match, but not on Tinder or OkCupid, acknowledging there are definitely registered sex offenders on our free products, according to ProPublica. So basically, if you're on Tinder, you're on OkCupid, there's registered sex offenders running around these websites. On top of about 50,
Starting point is 00:31:13 I think it's like 50 to 58% of these websites are married guys or people, guys who are in relationships. I get so tired of this being a single male. So there you go, ladies. You may want to, I don't know. They need to come up with a dating website that background checks guys. Like I've known some of my ex-girlfriends that have guys who have restraining orders.
Starting point is 00:31:38 And I'm just like, what? Did I break you after this? And they'll meet these guys that are like stalker dudes that are you know I don't know what it is I've dated so much in my life being single all my life and then power dating when I was younger trying to find the right woman I used to date a lot and I've never had a restraining order I never had anybody threaten to put a restraining order on me. I've never sent a dick pic. I don't know what the hell's going on with some guys in the world. Well, I kind of know, but still, um, and we're even worse sex offenders. Holy crap. I mean, geez, what's his face from subways probably on there. Um, you know, this is scary stuff that
Starting point is 00:32:22 we need to have a dating site in the future. The background checks people. If you've got a restraining order, if you've got acquisition accusations of sexual harassment or something like that, uh, that have stuck, if you've got domestic violence, um, uh, you know, things that have stuck in a court of law, uh, you know, any of that sort of heinous stuff, you need to like, you need to like be blocked from being on that dating website. Of course, I don't know, that might be a small website, but maybe it should be, you know, we can make the quality better. So let's also talk about what's going on.
Starting point is 00:33:01 This is kind of interesting. The DHS has proposed removing exemptions from u.s citizens and green card holders from going through facial recognition scans before arriving and departing the u.s this is according to tech crunch so uh basically um we're gonna be start living in the big brother chinese world they're gonna start doing more facial recognition now i'm not under illusion that the NSA FBI have probably already built banks of facial recognition especially off of different things like that face app where everyone was volunteering their face to the Russians in the app I'm aware they
Starting point is 00:33:39 probably somehow figured a way to backdoor all this data but even then there's certain there's certain illusion that I'd like to have to my privacy or you know not a free license run so this is a big deal this is something you stand up for and against when it comes to privacy this is kind of BS in my opinion and that's what I think about it so there's that. This is one of those privacy fights we need to have about everything else when it comes down to it. And we need to say, hey, this isn't cool.
Starting point is 00:34:14 We're not going to take it anymore. And blah, blah, blah. So there you go. So anyway, that's some of the news today, some of the things that we're thinking about after the Christmas holiday. I hope you had a – or I'm sorry, Thanksgiving holiday. I'm trying to get Christmas over already.
Starting point is 00:34:29 Geez, another month ago, Chris. Stop it. Don't. It's been one of those. So anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. If you weren't, if you didn't, be blessed. The best thing I can recommend during this holiday season, if you're under pressure, if you're feeling lonely,
Starting point is 00:34:47 if you're feeling squeezed, if you're feeling anxiety, check out The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. This book saved my life years ago. And I can't recommend it enough. I actually was going through some of the, um, pressures of, you know, uh, crunch time for Thanksgiving, pulled out the audio book, started listening to it and, uh, started to remember a few principles I need to get back to when it comes to just being present and being in peace with myself.
Starting point is 00:35:23 It's really important, some of the stuff in his book, and being present during the holidays so you can really enjoy them, so you can be there with the people you love, care about the people you love, and not let some of the other noise in when it comes to it, when it comes to your own stupid ego brain. So there you go. So I'd highly recommend you check that out as well.
Starting point is 00:35:43 I should put that on the Best Buy list for 2019. That's a good idea. Hey guys, thanks for tuning in. We certainly appreciate you guys.
