Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, I'm Chris Voss here from thechrisvossshow.com and coming in with another podcast. We certainly appreciate you guys tuning in. Be sure to give us a like, subscribe to us on YouTube.com, force us Chris Voss, and give that bell notification button. We are at WPPI Show in Las Vegas. And if you're here in Las Vegas, you can come see the wonderful booths we're reviewing on the Chris Voss Show. This is Photo Fantistico. You can see them at booth number 683 here at the show.
Starting point is 00:00:25 They're at the back of the hall. And you can meet Olivia. Olivia, how are you today? Hi, I'm great. How are you, Chris? Good, good. Thanks for having us. And so tell us about Photo Fantistico and what you guys are doing.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Absolutely. So Photo Fantistico is an event for professional photographers designed from the ground up to be the most fun you can have as a photographer it's a live action team photo contest think about a scavenger hunt it's photo based you come down we give you 10 clues kind of like the little mini mission we're getting oscars envelope there um there's a mission inside of it mission inside's a mission inside. The Photo Fantastica one, there'll be 10 clues that we give you the night before on the day of. You and your team of two to four photographers run around Austin, Texas, taking amazing pictures,
Starting point is 00:01:16 having a blast. Then that night you submit everything online. And then the best part is we've rented a full-size cinema. So think popcorn, comfy seats. You'll sit back, relax, and enjoy watching everyone's entries on the big screen with live judging by some pretty awesome celebrity photographers. That sounds awesome. You know, a lot of my friends that are photographers, they'll do these giant photo walks.
Starting point is 00:01:40 And they'll put together a whole cruise of people. But, you know, no one ever really sees the finished product at the end. Exactly. So that's why this is a little different. First of all, our scale is a little larger. So we have photographer teams coming from different countries. We have teams registered from different states. So part of the fun of it, too,
Starting point is 00:01:57 is you're going to get to meet other fun-loving, creative photographers from literally all over the world. Plus, you're going to have to work on teams, so maybe if you're not that good of a photographer, you can kind of work with some other people who might help you, and team-wise, you can do better. Yes, exactly, and that's a really cool thing about it as well, is as photographers, we often work solo.
Starting point is 00:02:17 We go out and shoot, and then we sit at home, we spend long hours editing. So Photo Fantastica is really designed to be the antidote to sitting at home editing we all know what that's like at 2 a.m. on a Tuesday you're still like clown through those wedding edits but photo fantastical is designed to totally reset you by giving you an amazing creative vacation with your photography friends now you guys are doing this in Austin this year after South by at April 16th through the 18th. And so it's going to be just a basically three-day event, 24 hours a day, taking photos with the team?
Starting point is 00:02:56 So yes and no. It is a three-day event in total, but the shooting part is only 24 hours. Oh, okay. So we have a kickoff party and clue reveal party where we'll we'll reveal the 10 clues we'll give you a chance to meet and mingle the other with the other teams then we have the 24 hours shooting fun you guys will be on your own running around and then the next day is when we've rented the cinema to do the whole screenings of everyone's entry. That sounds exciting and fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Because I've gone on photo walks, and you don't get to see anybody's product usually at the end. I mean, sometimes you're just looking through the other person's camera like, oh yeah, that kind of looks good. But this is pretty cool, and it's like a giant photo walk. And you guys are going to tour around the country and see this, right? Exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:43 We're going to bring it to different cities. So, you know, we're thinking, we've had people request us doing a photo fantastico in Washington, D.C., in L.A., in New York, Colorado. We've had a lot of people, Seattle. So that'll be coming up in the future. We'll make those announcements. L.A. is a great shooting place. One of my favorite things to do is do day trips down to Venice Beach. And if you ever
Starting point is 00:04:09 want a mecca of the strangest people in the world, the most interesting artistic sort of folks that you're gonna get some really cool shots with, Venice Beach is really cool. Of course Austin is awesome. I love photographing in Austin. There's so much eclectic stuff there. There's so much new, there's so much old and stuff. So people can go to photofantastico.com and then they can see different photos and stuff on your guys' Instagram, right? Yes. So we have not only photos on our Instagram, but we also just have information about Photo Fantástico on our Instagram as well. Photo underscore Fantástico. And and you guys have a
Starting point is 00:04:45 facebook account too that people can go check out yes we do and so you guys are really focused especially with the instagram on photography uh and all the different wonderful things you can do uh is there is there going to be a like awards given out for maybe who has the best star fee at the show or is it just kind of no there's a thousand dollar wow grand prize thousand dollars folks yeah so um not i mean we think that the reason people will do it is because it's going to be amazingly fun like nothing else they've done before but for the winning team there's a thousand dollars that they'll go home with and the great thing about these events too is if you're not a super pro ultra camera professional maybe you bought your first
Starting point is 00:05:25 camera and you're just kind of still learning it a lot of these events you can hang out with other really great photographers and they usually are really cool people they'll help you they'll help your frame shots they'll teach you some of the scene work that they do and how they do it I've been in hanging out with my friend Thomas power and Trey Ratcliffe and and when you hang out with them they'll help you they'll be like hey you know you don't want to use that angle you don't use that set up here this is like a better angle and everything else and so you've got you've
Starting point is 00:05:56 got just having access to some of these different photographers you can learn so much yeah and our judges will be a really great help like not only you know to maybe um our judges can give you some tips beforehand but also we have a new york times amazing photographer ryan ryan christopher jones we have jonas peterson who's one of the most well-known photographers in the world and kirsten bethman lewis who is the founder of the documentary family awards and wow probably the world's best-known documentary family photographer so we have these experts who are gonna be you know judging your photos but also giving you some really great feedback so it's a great opportunity for only it's a hundred
Starting point is 00:06:36 and ninety five dollars Wow registration it's really not prohibitive to come and enter photo and then I see you this is a month after south by so you're not going to pay those crazy south by southwest travel and hotel yeah it's going to be you're going to have relaxed room to be creative to explore to not have to battle traffic just to come and have a great time and create some great images now where in austin are you having it is it is it downtown or is it the cinema where we're screening everything is just north of downtown and then it is free reign to go anywhere in austin you know there's the west side of austin which is beautiful mountains and hills and so gorgeous and then the east side is the quirky you know graffiti and bars and you know so yeah yeah you see me get sidetracked on the east
Starting point is 00:07:22 side i'm probably going to be leaving my liver uh my liver in Austin here in a few more weeks it looks like so but Austin's such a beautiful place so photogenic and so eclectic in fact last year when I was in Austin at South by I got downtown to where you guys capital was and there's some really cool old buildings down there the capitals beautiful I was like why haven't I been down here before so I think you guys gonna have an awesome time anything more we need to know about what you guys are doing I think that's it just it is gonna be a great time and Austin is perfect in April so come on down yeah it's gonna be nice and it's gonna be nice oh yeah wait if anyone is a WBBI we
Starting point is 00:08:00 have an amazing registration coupon right here at our booth. You guys have got different things you're giving away like some buttons and then they can do the missions. Oh we have these fun magnets that you can actually take a magnet come up here you can take a magnet right off our backdrop.
