Anyway, guys, we're going to talk. It's our usual day where we're going to cover business, news, and tech.
So let's talk about some of the top things
Interest me let's start with some of the fun things I found on product on calm today I don't find a lot of cool things on product hunt
But I do find some really cool gems or when I think are gems in my opinion
That's why I have a show if it's not your opinion that you don't like what I choose get your own fucking show man I
Love you still.
Anyway, number two on Product Hunt of the Day today on the August 6th there is a company called Reveal URL.
No more clicking unknown short URLs.
This is one of the biggest challenges that I have when people send me URLs now.
A lot of times they're wrapped or
encoded with some sort of shortener. Sometimes they're custom and stuff, and you never know
what's on the other side. And I'm pretty savvy as a tech person. You know, I look and see, okay,
where's that going? If it's purported to be a link that goes to a major website, I just go right to
the major website. I don't click the link I get oh god what is it Twitter like all
the time the DMs of Twitter it's that same hack link that if you click it they
have your account and they start spamming all your friends with the same
thing I don't know why Twitter has not shut that down it's not that hard to
search it's the same it's the same thing in my DMS all the fucking time it's the
same link the same quote
Here's a link for you Chris
It would not be that hard to have their algorithm shut that down and close those accounts off that are packed but
Whatever man
So anyway reveal URL I've had people send me URLs to like on LinkedIn and I'm like, dude
I'm not fucking clicking the URL just fucking tell me what you want or tell me what website to go to, but I'm not clicking random URLs from people I don't know.
Um, or people I do know. I mean, we've all had that Facebook hack. So this is pretty interesting.
It's reveal URL. Uh, it, it's kind of simple. You go to their website, you have to manually
enter the thing. I was hoping it was like a plug-in that would go into
that would go into my like Chrome browser and it would basically like D
mask the URL on its own but no you have to go to their website and and enter the
URL that you want to take and reveal hey that's fine I guess I'll take what I can
get in the desperate moments of wondering what's on the
other side of that click so there's that but you can check it out you can go to reveal URL dot XYZ
great that's a hell of a name what else do we find we found buffer buffer comm if you're familiar
with them I actually use their buffer for sharing I I have the extension in Chrome, and so I love to share my stuff using Buffer.
They have added the Buffer Hashtag Manager.
You can save and organize your hashtags for Instagram.
Basically, it's a tool that integrates with your buffer and makes it easy to create and save groups of hashtags to be used in your Instagram posts.
I mean, let's face it.
When it comes to Instagram, it's all about the hashtags, man.
It's one of the reasons I really took longer to really – I embraced it early on, but falling in love with it.
And I don't mind posting pictures, but I'm like, I got to do hashtag work.
Oh, my God.
It's number four of the day at product hunt
the buffer hashtag manager um and uh yeah i mean looks like a cool new tool maybe i'll use it uh
this is one of the problems i've had with uh uh hashtags and uh instagram is you know you got a
copy like 5 000 of them fucking in there and even though you save them it's like a
huge pain in the ass you're like i just want to ship this photo my dog seriously do i have to do
100 fucking hashtags or whatever i know there's a limit i'm just doing a joke anyway you can check
it out it's buffer hashtag manager you probably go to buffer.com and also check it out but i saw that on podcast and was impressed uh i use in my chrome browser a uh an app called
or an extension called clipboard history pro uh i really like it and i use it for my history
because i'm constantly doing marketing so i'm uh and i'm using doing multiple different marketing
so i've got somewhere i'm like okay where's this where's this comment where's that reply and so I use the clipboard history Pro
and I really love it now in fact I almost sidestep this thing cuz I'm like
I don't know man anyway this thing's called pasta it's doing fairly good it's
about halfway up on the on the product on board today and it's basically a
clipboard time machine they claim saves everything you copy in your clipboard so you can reuse it later it's
called pasta and you go to the website at get pasta calm and it remembers
everything you copy in your clipboard pasta is a designer friendly clipboard
that's fast and easy to use etc etc I to check it out, see what I think and, uh, let you know in the end,
but, uh, Oh, Oh no. Is this only for the Mac? Ah, for fuck sakes. All right. Fuck this. Fuck pasta.
I'm sticking with my, um, clipboard history pro. I don't use max man these computers adults use all right so
cracking on the cracking on the thing there so anyway let's let's take a look
at and alive seriously so let's see the Apple card issued in partnership with
Goldman Sachs begins a preview rollout to randomly selected U.S. customers.
Did you get the Apple card yet?
Oh, my gosh.
As if you didn't spend enough money with Apple, there's just not enough for them.
We need more.
Tim Cook's like, we need more from you.
Anyway, let's see.
So there's the Apple card rollout that's gonna be interesting
yeah we profiled that on the chris foss uh show podcast than what it was talked about the other
day you can't buy bitcoin with it you can't uh you can't do a lot of other things with it uh
which is interesting wow it's like everything's is this morning so there
you go sorry about that let's see Trump tweets a video of Lou Dobbs interview
with fired Google engineer whose proposes a Richard Spencer fundraiser
and suggests skinheads rebrand hey man hey to say I don't care what how you
rebrand it.
You know, that's the biggest problem with white nationalism is it's basically the KKK.
They just found another way to rename it so that it would be more acceptable,
but it's not more acceptable.
So there.
Microsoft says it blocked Russian link tacking group Fancy Bear from using compromised.
I went to public school.
Clearly IOT devices reach enterprise networks in April. Cool.
Block those Russians.
Stop and shut them down.
Hey, do it.
I'm all against Russians.
I was raised cowering under a desk as a child, hoping that my steel desk would would protect me from nuclear bombs which i'm sure
it wouldn't have the doj according to zd net charges pakistani man with bribing at&t employees
over one million dollars to install malware on the company's network in a scheme that unlocked
more than two million devices were those all his so basically paid two dollars per device to
get or hold on you know I'll be right I did math right did math I got it tell
you what a morning let's see Yelp Yelps app quietly started routing customer
restaurant customers takeout and delivery calls through grubhub for tracking and marketing purposes, according to Vice.
This is pretty interesting.
I don't know if they had full permission to do this.
I'm sure they did probably somewhere in their legalese at TOS service that is 5,000 miles long that no one ever reads.
But, hey, it's probably a new revenue stream for Yelp where they can take and make money,
and this is probably going to contribute to the Grubhub delivery, food delivery wars.
It seems like that's the new frontier that everyone's fighting over and buying each other out and everything else.
Linked UN report.
According to Reuters, North Korea has generated an estimated $2 billion using widespread and sophisticated cyber attacks to steal from banks and cryptocurrency exchanges
wow man that makes you feel safe at night with your bitcoin um you know it's this is the new
this is the new i mean if there is a third world war it's probably not going to be fought with
weapons uh it's probably going to be fought with technology in fact i technically you could say
it's being fought right now it's're already in cyber World War III.
So this is going to be interesting,
and we've got to make sure we're on the cutting edge of technology data.
It would really help if we get 5G rolled out.
That would be nice, considering there's some countries that have 5G.
So this is pretty interesting.
They're able to make money stealing from online accounts.
I mean, this is going to be the future of, you know, having your stuff stolen, all that
good stuff.
Flipkart revamps a shopping app, adding video streaming services, Hindi language support
and audio visual assistant for the first time.
Internet users best according tech crunch.
That's India's e-commerce giant.
Flipkart says Tuesday it's revamping its shopping ad.
So that's probably smart for them.
You know, it is India.
You might want to add the Hindi language or as many languages as you can that are supported in the country of India.
Seems like a smart idea to me.
Duh.
Let's see.
Report. uh let's see report japan's ftc is investigating apple over whether it pressured japanese parts
makers and abused its power in violation of anti-monopoly rules seriously apple being
anti-monopoly or being monopolistic no way yeah whatever man that's according to reuters
uh let's see this is kind of interesting cyber reason and endpoint
detection and response platform raises 200 million series e led by SoftBank at
a 900 million valuation they are a cloud-based cybersecurity company and
Forbes 2019 next billion dollar startups honoree announced their 200 million
dollars worth of funding.
More cybersecurity.
I probably did project against that earlier report of the North Koreans, so there you go.
Klarna.
Am I pronouncing that right?
Klarna, which provides e-commerce payment services for merchants and shoppers,
raises $460 million million of 5.5
valuation of head of a potential IPO they're the largest privately fin tech
startup in Europe after a new funding round valued the Swedish payments groups
at 5.5 billion all about e-commerce baby e-commerce is finally I mean they've
been here for a while I shouldn't say finally but they've been here for a while. I shouldn't say finally, but they've been here for a while. And there you go.
Fun is fun.
Looks like 8chan is on the thing.
They've lost a couple other domain registers, and it's being hobbled.
And, yep, hopefully it will whatever, die.
Maybe that would be good good but probably won't IBM says cyber attacks
against industrial targets have doubled the last six months when an enterprise has hit 12,000 plus
workstations are damaged on average holy shit with destructive malware cyber attacks designed
to cause damage you know more and more we need to educate people on malware and what not to click.
I mean, that's usually what it is.
Somebody clicks something and lets something right into your area and away you go.
It's on ZDNet.
This is kind of interesting.
Looks like another Google product is going to die.
Really? Another? No way.
TechCrunch. Google says it's shutting
down its trips app for mobile
and will incorporate many of the
features into its travel site, maps
app, and search.
It's kind of interesting. We do a lot of the
interviews on the Chris Voss Show on Google
Hangouts. And
August 1st, Google
YouTube shut down
our ability to do the Hangouts,
which really sucked because it was a great way to really utilize bringing people to the show,
having guests on the show, and everything else.
And now it's not.
