Hi, I'm Osiris Voss here from theecrisvossshow.com. I'm at the NAB show 2019. We're at booth number N4814 in the North Hall.
And getting a chance to check out some really cool technology. And I'm here with one of the representatives. Go introduce yourself, sir.
Hi, my name is Mazen Mattar. I'm director of OEM products with FIDA Systems.
Awesome, Soss. So you guys are here. You've got a great booth set up where people can come by, find out more about you guys, what you guys do.
Tell us what you guys do.
So we're a design services company.
We help companies come up with products, engineer them, and we take them to production.
So we work with a lot of the OEMs that you see around here at NAB.
And we basically come up, help them with requirements, architecture phase.
We do a lot of the implementation for them and then take them to production at the end.
Great. And so I can see there's lots of hardware running around here.
It's just kind of samples of stuff that you guys have helped build, I guess.
Yeah.
So this is some of our evaluation platforms.
What you'll see on the desk here is some of the development platforms that customers use.
We use that to enable them to develop their products and accelerate the roadmap.
Similar things with the OEM products
that we have up on the wall here.
Okay, so you've got 4K video platforms
you help people build.
Basically you help engineer these things,
get them through standards, compliance,
all the different things that they need to be doing.
That's right.
Okay, all right, that's awesome.
And so what's your client base?
What are you guys usually targeting
for people that want to work with you?
So within NAB, we work with all the typical OEMs, so anyone in the broadcast space.
We also cater to a lot of different market verticals, so industrial, aerospace, automotive.
We're in a lot of different spaces supporting the developments.
That's awesome.
And you guys make high-performance electronic design.
Looks like you work with a number of different manufacturers you guys have up on your wall.
That's right.
So basically, when I want to build something technology-based and stuff, I come to you guys.
You guys help me plan it out, help me design it, engineer it, all that good stuff.
Absolutely.
And we take all the technical risk away.
The schedule risk also goes away because we've done it before.
Oh, really?
And you get to benefit from that.
So if I'm a guy who's maybe doing a Kickstarter, and that's probably too small for me, what you guys do business for,
but maybe I want to design something like that.
It's my first time.
I haven't gone through the procedures of going over there and, like, say, to China
and knowing what to set up, what sort of timelines I'm looking at.
I know a lot of people.
The reason I mention Kickstarter is a lot of people,
they have this great idea about manufacturing something.
Right.
And when they go and do it, then they find out there's a whole lot more story and it's
very complicated and so you guys help walk them through all those things you
guys can help them meet their deadlines because that's usually what I see when
people so we've done over 1,500 projects over the life cycle of the company so
we've done this a lot lots of times and we can engage at different phases we can
do the whole thing from A to Z or we could come in and do just small pieces
of it to help you get through a particular bottleneck.
Okay, cool.
Cool, that's awesome.
And, yeah, like I said, there's a lot of times where I've seen people that have tried to manufacture stuff.
Yep.
And they give shorter delivery times, like, oh, yeah, we'll be able to make it.
And you're like, yeah, you know.
You should take that with a grain of salt.
Yeah.
So it's nice that they can have a consulting firm or a firm they can go into.
What would you call yourselves as a consulting firm?
We call ourselves Design Services.
Design Services.
And our claim to fame is first-class success.
So you come to us with your idea, we'll get it working the first time we touch it.
Get you rolling and all that good stuff.
And certainly hiring somebody who knows what they're doing is better than just trying to figure it all out yourself.
And we're a group of about 63 to 65 engineers right now.
Wow.
And we have multiple disciplines.
So hardware, FPGA, software, any of that stuff we can do quite well.
Yeah.
So if someone wants to jump into the market or if they're in the market and they just want to learn how to do stuff better or get better turnaround on their stuff, better quality, all that sort of good stuff, they can reach out to you guys.
Absolutely.
You guys can help them do that.
That's awesome. Anything more we need to know about and you guys can help them do that. That's awesome.
Anything more we need to know about what you guys are and what you do?
I think that's it.
If you want more information, just visit our website, www.fidus.com, and we'll be able
to support you from there.
And if you're here at the NAB Show 2019, come to N4814.
They're right in the middle of North Hall, kind of right in the middle of everything,
really, when it comes down to it.
So be sure to check these guys out.
You can say hello and learn more about their products and what they're doing.
Alright, thanks a lot.
Thanks for tuning in and we'll see you next time.
