Today, an amazing young man on the show, we're going to be talking to him about his insightful
book called Freddy the Falcon in honor, your father and your mother by Reverend Leo.
We've got him on the show.
Welcome the show, Reverend.
How are you, sir?
I am doing fine.
Thank you very much, Chris.
Thank you.
Do you want me to call you Reverend or Leo?
They would probably be better to call me Reverend because I am an ordained minister.
All right.
So Rev, give us your dot com's websites, social media, where are we want people to find you on the interweb, sir?
They can find me on my website for my book, the series of my book, which is Revleo.
dot web, sorry, website three with the numeral, dot me.
Revleo.
website 3.
There'll be a link for it on the Chris Fos
show as well if you have trouble finding it.
So give us a 30,000 overview.
What's inside your book?
Freddie the Falcon.
Freddy the Falcon is a series that I've
already written 10 manuscripts
for. And
I've got the first one, which
is Freddy the Falcon in honor of
your father and your mother. The second
one is Judge Not.
They both should be coming out
very quickly.
I wrote the books because of substitute teaching at a school district and a lot of the kids, not all,
but there's a lot of kids that just have no respect for each other, adults.
And it's just, it's sad.
Yeah.
It's going downhill so bad and we really need to get back to the church.
Without faith, you're going to be lost forever.
We need to have people come back.
And it is happening.
People started going back to the church as soon as the current president got into office.
So it's not far-fetched, but living under God's word will make your life better and easier.
And so what was the impetus that made you want to write this book, create the character of Freddie the Falcon?
Okay.
I lost my job as a substitute teacher.
and I was sitting there and I happened to be reading my Bible and I thought, you know something,
there are a lot of Bible verses that young kids can start learning.
They don't have to go to church.
And a lot of people don't have to go to church to believe in God.
However, I wrote the book.
I started writing.
Actually, I was thinking about characters and I was thinking my favorite bird is a paraguwen falcon.
And I thought, you know something?
I'm going to name the characters in the book, kind of like a, actually, I'm not sure how to say it, kind of like a pseudonym.
So Freddie the Falcon, so it rhymes.
In the book, there's also Sally the Sparrow.
So each book has different animals, birds, whatever, that what their species is, is what will be the first letter.
of their name.
So this is what started, and then it didn't take me very long to get 12 of the books written,
or 10 of the books, sorry, manuscripts written, started getting it published.
I was excited about it, but I'm even more excited now because I've had to redo the first book,
which is in honor your father and your mother, because of the book got pirated by the publisher.
And yeah, I got, it was published February 4th of 2025.
To this date, they're still making and selling the books.
I have gotten no report, which is supposed to be quarterly and no royalties off of it.
I do have an attorney that is actually working on it.
They're in contact with Amazon.
They will be in contact with Barnes & Noble because that's the two places that I know of that they've been selling it and let them know.
But the new version, which I will send you a copy of the cover so you can put it on your website, is more vibrant and actually looks like a Peregrine Falcon rather than an owl.
Although I do have an owl in the thing, but in the storyline, but actually I think the owl is in volume two.
Judge Not. Yes, I do have that. So I'm actually very excited about this now with getting this published.
getting the word out, and I have a feeling kids are going to love it.
From what I heard from a marketing firm, just January, February, and March of this year,
Integrity sold 800 copies of Softbound of my book, the Pirated One, and 56 of the Hardbound.
And who knows how many they sold last year, so that's why I now have an attorney, because my copyrights,
have been and intellectual property has been stolen.
Yeah. So the book that people should be looking for is going to be the colorful one.
It's the one that's been hijacked there, as it were, is kind of bland looking, but the one
that has vibrant colors on it. I think that's the one. And of course, there'll be a link for this
on the Chris Foss show. So you have a question of which book to buy, but hopefully you get that
worked out. Now, with the book, the centers around biblical teaching of the honor your
father and your mother from Exodus 2012. Why was this message especially important for you to share
with children today? I had experienced a couple of incidences at the school. I shall not name the
school for liability issues, where the student was totally disrespecting the parent during a meeting.
You know, parent, teacher conference. It was not just a teacher conference, but a teacher. But
it also included the principal.
Oh.
Yeah.
The individual student ended up, from what I understand, I have not heard of an official,
but I understand she was, what's the word they use?
Expelled.
Expelled.
Okay.
But she sat there the entire time using her middle finger and thumb and thumping the side
of her mother's head.
Oh, wow.
Just like a flick, like the flick thing or a good hard flick.
Wow.
Yeah, I couldn't believe how disrespectful this student was to the mother.
Yeah.
I mean, I've seen other things like I've had one student that was giving me a real hard, never gave me trouble before.
And then also started giving me a real hard.
And I said, do I need to call your dad?
And he goes, I don't care.
I don't see my dad anymore.
So it doesn't make any difference.
And I was like, wow.
Well, explains a few things there.
But this is why I decided to write this book, the book series.
And once I get three, four, maybe five of them out there, I'm going to be working on improving more.
I've got the whole Bible to use and I've got patriotism to use.
So the book is supposed to help patriotism in kids.
Because I know a lot of kids don't, especially in junior high and high school, don't like this country.
you know, then move out.
Yeah.
When you get 18, move out.
But this is a great country.
And it doesn't matter if you believe in God or not.
God loves all his children.
Excuse me.
So that's another reason why I'm writing the books.
I also officiate weddings.
Oh, yeah.
So I do that.
I don't have a church.
That's an enormous undertaking to start.
So I'm just going to do.
weddings. I've done them. Wow. I've done one in a front yard. Oh, really? Yep. They decorated the whole front yard. And it's okay. However, I have a little, how do I put this? It's not a genre. My attire is a minister's shirt with the white square, and I wear a kilt. Oh, yeah, a kilt.
I do have Scottish in me.
So that's why I do a kilt.
And so far, people really like that because you don't see that.
It's usually in a church.
I haven't done it in a church, but I've done it in a convention room at a hotel casino here in Nevada.
So I'm not opposed to officiating wherever is needed in the state.
Yeah.
You do weddings and stuff.
So you're pretty familiar and how long have you been a reverend?
When did you start in the church and then becoming a reverend?
I actually was ordained.
Give me a second.
August 4th of 2019.
So this fourth, I will have been seven years as an ordained minister.
Oh, wow.
It's not a new thing.
I've been doing it.
I do like it.
A lot of people, younger kids that liked me, passed-hance, as a substitute teacher I'd run into in the grocery store, Walmart, Home Depot, they're always very respectful.
And they just enjoy talking to me.
I had, this would become political, so I probably shouldn't tell you this story.
It's up to you.
Okay, I had a young Hispanic girl.
She really, really liked me as a story.
substitute teacher and she never gave me trouble whatsoever.
Oh, wow.
And she came to me during passing period because she saw me standing in the hall and she asked
me a political question and I told her I can't answer that and she said, why?
And I said, the first time I substituted at the high school was for political science class.
Oh.
Okay.
And what do you think U.S. history, U.S. government is political science.
Political science, yeah.
So I said I was banned from talking politics or I would be banned from subbing at the school.
She goes, how am I going to get my answer?
And I said, now that question I can answer.
So I told her she needed being in high school.
And from what I understand, most high schools ban this book.
Don't allow it on campus.
I told her, you need to read the book and it's called The Prince.
And the author is Niccolo, Niccolo Machiavelli, and it was written in 1512, and it's still published, I believe, in 130 languages.
Yeah, I have a copy sitting around somewhere.
I mean, I've read the book, and I was like, I read it in English, not in Italian.
A wonderful book, and it describes exactly how a certain faction in the country operate.
And she goes, you know, the day I finished reading the book, I saw her three months later, and she says, you know, I finished reading the book.
I said, that's wonderful.
But she says, you want to know something better?
I'm like, okay, what's that?
She goes, the day I finished reading the book, I went down and re-registered as the other faction.
Oh.
And I'm like, good for you.
because it's it's an eye-opening, which is why the schools won't allow it to be on campus.
The Prince, Machia, really? Gosh, wow, man. I mean, that's, that's, it's not here.
It's a classic book. It is a classic book, but it is so factual.
Yeah, it's still as factual as day. I use it as a, as leadership and management sort of to a thing.
It's, it's, that's good that you do that because that's very, very,
important and back in 1512 the Holy Roman Catholic Church was very powerful.
Yeah. Niccolo Machiavelli was imprisoned in 1512 by and escapes me right at the moment,
but at the time the current Grand Duke of Tuscany was reinstituted as the ruler in Florence.
And since he had written philosophy and articles, Niccolo, he was put in
prison. That's when he wrote the book. And I just, I try to tell everyone to read that book. It is so
crucial to this country, even though it wasn't written here, crucial to this country,
to read good literature. And from what I understand, to kill a mockingbird has also been
eliminated from schools. I think I've heard that, yeah. I mean, that's another classic book.
It's a more modern book from the, I believe, 50s.
Yeah. But I mean, it's a classic human story. I mean, there's a lot of people. It is.
There's a reason these books are classics because they're usually timely in what they teach.
Exactly. At least educated, you know, they're not teaching and going to kill people like to kill a Markingberg.
They're teaching you about life and people's journeys and choices through life, you know.
So maybe you don't make the bad mistakes and maybe make the good stuff.
Correct.
Yeah. So how did this phase into what you were trying to teach in your book?
and get children done or young people understand.
If they start learning fundamentals, like in honor of your father and your mother,
in other words, the way Freddie the Falcon is, his father had told him to rake all the leaves up
and put him in the trash can, you know, the outside trash can.
And when he came home, I believe I'm trying to, I've got so much in my head,
I'm trying to keep all the stories straight.
But I believe he came home and he asked.
him asked Freddie if he did his chores and he and sally the sparrow were flying in and out of the
sprinkler that was on you know having some fun and he said no so his dad said you need to stop and you
need to go do your do your work that you were told to do so he did cleaned it all up he cried a little
bit while he was doing it because he wanted to play.
Yeah.
And yet, when he got done, he ran to his dad and he said, come see.
Dad went out there and he said he was proud of him.
Then, if I'm remembering this story, like I said, I've got too many, 10 of them in my head.
Yeah, you got a lot of stories.
He was able to resume playing.
Now, the next book was, is Judge Nogh, the first book.
That's why this is important, is so that we understand they need to do with.
what their parents tell them, whether it's instructions or chores, because it's teaching them
fundamentals they're going to need the rest of their lives. And if they can't follow orders there,
they're not going to be able to follow orders when they have a job, which means they're not
going to be keeping a job. Yeah, because if you don't follow orders around the job site,
you get sent down the highway. That's usually... Exactly. There was a girl that I know from the high school in two
months. She was a senior. Last half of high school, I found out she had had three jobs in that two
months and she couldn't keep the job. Wow. And I tried to explain to her that if you don't do as you're
told because that's what you're getting paid for, you're not going to be able to hold a job.
And if you lose too many jobs in a short period of time, nobody is going to want to hire you.
That's very true. And I've seen it so much. And so what age group would you?
say your books are targeted to?
I'm targeting it from, let's see, two years old, all the way up to, I believe it's either 16 or 17,
but anybody could read the book.
Yeah.
I mean, the book does have the Bible verse out of the Bible, so it's not like it's a kiddie's only book.
and anyone can learn from reading scriptures.
You know, Bible verses our scriptures.
There's a whole lot to learn in there.
If I'm remembering Proverbs 3, 5, trust in me is what Jesus said.
So if you trust in him, you should have a better life.
Now, you can pray to God, you can pray to Jesus.
but don't expect an immediate answer and don't expect it to go the way you want it to go.
Your answer might not be for a while and might not be the way you want or it might be so subtle you might miss it.
So there's a lot to be said for having faith in something gives you self-worth inside.
You know, like the Bible verses says, love thy neighbor as thyself.
Actually, I think I have that as one of my books.
I'm going to have to go back and read later.
I think I have that as one of them.
If not, that's going to be one of them.
Another book, actually, is do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
That is one of the books that will be printed later.
Excuse me.
So that's why I do it.
I mean, it is important because when I was growing up, we had
we went to church every Sunday, Sunday school when we were old enough, and it teaches you things.
Yeah.
I mean, you learn crafts for making, just as a, first off the top of my head, the Garden of Gassamini, where Jesus prayed the night before he was put on the cross.
Things like that, or even just making a cross out of paper, drawing it or painting it brown and then gluing it.
together or taping it together. You'll learn crafts in a way in in Bible school. Yeah. You know,
and that's all right before you actually go into church. So how do you, how do you feel the book
compines faith-based lessons with colorful inspiration, illustrations and storytelling? How is important
the visual part of the storytelling in the book with the illustrations to reaching young readers?
I'll tell you this. As a young kid, I read, when I was able to start reading, I was reading comic books and they were always very colorful.
Kids react to bright colors.
So having bright colors as opposed to the pirated book, which is varying shades of pastel green, and the Freddie looks more like an owl than a falcon.
having vibrant colors, it'll entreats.
I mean, look at the cartoons that are on TV.
Okay, the good ones, not the bad ones.
They're very colorful and vibrant.
And kids like that.
It draws their attention in, which also helps with focus and paying attention.
Yeah.
So that's why I decided to totally switch it out because I really want this book to come out.
And it will be, I'm waiting to hear from both Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Hopefully I'll hear something within 72 hours, which would mean that the book would be available to be,
started the, was it, pre-printing sales, so Amazon could start getting those printed up.
And one thing to tell you, I don't know if you've set up your author page yet with Amazon.
It's very different than the KDP section.
and if you set up your author page, you can claim different properties as being yours.
That might help you.
And they usually assign you a personal rep that you can talk to directly.
And you can probably get that resolved.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm going to have to talk to my computer lady about that because she's the one that's
helped me set up the Amazon KDP.
So definitely if I can put up a profile on the regular Amazon.
on. It's a whole separate area, but it's like author page area. So it's your author details and
stuff. It's really weird that it's separate from KDP, but I don't make the rules. It's Amazon.
They do what they want. But it's an author. I think it's called an author page. And go into that,
you'll kind of use your same logins and everything, but you can claim books that might be
stolen from you and things like that. And if you're still having problems, I'm always able to get
rep online to talk to me. And since you're an author with them, they kind of care about making you
happy. So you might try. I'm definitely going to do that as soon as I can. When the show's over,
I'm going to talk to my computer lady and let her know about that. But I will tell you, the
marketing company has already put their in-house attorneys on it, and they are in direct contact
with Amazon right now. And Amazon was not happy to hear from more.
what I understand.
Yeah.
I can't quote anything they said because I'm getting it third hand that Amazon was not
happy to find out it was pirated.
Yeah.
So I'm getting new IBSN numbers for the books.
Yeah, that's smart.
So let me ask you this.
With Freddie, he shares lessons about sharing, responsibility, following instructions.
What do you hope parents and children discuss with a book?
I mean, imagine this is a great book for parents to read to their children.
That's what I'm hoping for.
And even if the parent does not read the Bible or believe in God, I'm hoping that reading this book to their kids might spark an interest to learn more because it's showing good moral, ethics for kids to grow up with values as well.
This is what I'm hoping for as a whole with the book to get as many young kids,
during the age that I mentioned earlier and even older to maybe spark an interest.
And then they want to learn, then they want to create, then they want to use their imagination, right?
Exactly. They're not, I'll tell you, they're not teaching kids imagination in the school.
They're not teaching them how to write cursive letters so they can write in cursive.
They're only doing block letters, and you can't sign documents with block letters.
They won't accept that.
But the kids have no clue as to how to sign their name.
And it goes on and on and on.
And I know I keep harping about this,
but the faction that's in control of our school systems need to be,
how do I put this delicately?
You can just put it anywhere you want.
They need to all be fired and hire people from the other faction
that do believe in God and do believe in, oh my gosh, this brings me up.
One of the books is, oh my gosh, as you can see, I'm a little nervous,
but it escapes me what Bible verse it is, but it is about,
he who hates his son, spares the rod, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline.
Okay? That is one of the books that I have written because these kids are just being let loose because parents don't want to do their duty.
Yeah.
I mean, if they're going to have the responsibility of creating life, which is God's gift, in my opinion, they need to take the responsibility, put their feelings aside, their wants and needs aside, and look after their kids to raise them to be good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So let's see.
What else do we have?
When do you plan on putting out the next book in the series for Freddie the Falcon?
Okay, Freddie the Falcon, in honor your father and the mother, that has been done.
Amazon does have a copy of that, and they're now approving that.
Judge Not is another book.
This is volume two that has been illustrated completely.
I've got all the documents and that's ready to go to print.
So as soon as I get an approval on Freddie the Falcon
in honor of your father and your mother,
then I'm going to submit Judge Not
and then I'm going to work on getting the illustrations done
for two more books.
All right.
So I'm going to work on getting these out as quickly as I can.
It does take money for the illustrators,
but the illustrator that did the first two books,
not the same person, too different, but it's almost identical and they're going to do the whole
series. However many books I do. And I'm like, I'm not just going to stop at 12. I mean,
because there's plenty of Bible verses that people and kids can learn from. Yeah, you've got a whole
set of books there. Plus the patriotism. Two of the books that I can remember, can't remember the
names of them, has both a Bible verse and an aspect of patriotism. If you can't love your country,
you're in a world of hurt. Yeah. But you've got to be able to love yourself and love others.
And if people don't want to be friends or like you, that's their problem.
Move on. Move on. There's plenty of people in this world that would be happy to be friends.
Yeah.
Not to bring a downer, but it was a shock to me that political science class was two days,
turned out to be two weeks.
The first day, I started talking to a girl.
She got her work done, and she just sat there.
So I called her over to the desk because the rest of them were taking their test.
So I was whispering with her to because she just, something didn't seem right.
And I started talking to what do you want to do when you get out of school?
And she's, I don't know.
What do you like to do?
I like to cook and bake.
I'm like, okay, there are culinary schools in Las Vegas.
Was it Southern Nevada College?
I see, I believe that's it.
Actually has a culinary department and they have a restaurant that if you make a reservation,
you can go in and it's minimal, but it gives all the students the opportunity to learn how to
set a place setting.
Oh, wow.
Serve the food, cook the food, and they all rotate.
So everyone gets to learn.
And I'm like, oh my gosh, that is amazing.
So I talked to her about that.
And I was telling her about recipes.
I gave her a couple of recipes that I enjoy cooking, which are really good.
Anyway, so I was there for two weeks and saw her every day, talked to her every day,
and found out, was it two or three years,
later ran into her. I said, how are you doing? She goes, I'm married. And I'm like, oh, that's awesome.
Yes. But she goes, you're, she asked me if I remembered the first day I subbed in that class, the political
science class. And I said, yes. I said, you weren't very happy then. So that's why I figured I
talked to her. So I was making her laugh. Laughter is a very good aid to fighting some
depression. And she goes, yeah, I was down. And I had already decided before being in that class
that when I get out of school today, I'm going out in the desert and killing myself. Wow.
And I'm like, are you serious? And she goes, yeah. But she says, you totally turned me around.
Wow. I'm like, holy moly. I was so amazed. I had no. I had no.
No clue. She was a wonderful young lady. She now has kids. Wow.
But there's a lot to be said. Kids want to be heard and they're not. And a lot of them are acting out because of that. Parents don't have time. Parents give them cell phones. And I'm sorry. I know a lot of your viewers may not agree. But kids, elementary, junior high and high school should not have cell phones. That's my opinion.
Yeah. Their brains are still developing.
They're not developing. They're playing music, playing games, and not doing their schoolwork. How are you going to function if you can't answer questions? Seriously, I've had former students in their 20s. Actually, no, one is now in his 40s. I wasn't subbing when he was in school. He cannot spell whatsoever. He always asked me, how do you spell this word? So I
tell him. And so I was like his dictionary, verbal dictionary. So how do you spell this word?
Spell it this way. And he goes, you know, I would kind of write a book. I said, okay, start writing,
try to keep your thought in focus for one subject like a chapter in the book. And then I'll read
it as you need me to. Every other word, I had to ask him what it was because I could not decipher it.
And that tells you a lot because I can speak, read, and write for languages and have a bachelor's degree from a Christian university in French.
Oh, wow.
So, if I have to ask what this is, I mean, I've read documents, actually, when I was in Italy last October.
I was at the church where my grandparents were baptized, going through the books.
So we went all the way back to 1690.
Oh, wow.
And reading them, the older it got, the harder it was.
My cousin had to do most of the reading, but the younger ones, I could decipher them.
I've read Portuguese documents going all the way back to 1772 before this country became a country.
Oh.
So reading documents, but you've got to learn how to read and read script.
Yeah.
But the kids aren't getting that.
and it's they're not helping the kids they're enabling them to be victims the rest of their lives
yeah there's a lot of the victimhood going on in our society now and all those things oh my gosh that is
the biggest understatement yeah so give people a final pitch out as we round out the show to pick up
your book and how to get your website on your website page and all that good stuff all the dot coms
Okay, the website is RevLeod. Website3.me.
I don't have email on there.
Soon there will be a link to ordering the books.
As soon as I can get that figured out once I get approved with Amazon and any other company,
they can order directly through them.
Amazon, I'm hoping we'll have it, Barnes & Noble.
they already, both of them already carried the pirated copy.
So that should be more enticing with the vibrant colors and the better version to want to sell that.
So I'm hoping that end.
I'm going to be, I am talking to a marketing, so we're going to be working on getting it so it can be distributed worldwide.

be better for them in the long run.
