Hi, this is Foss here from thecrispossshow.com.
Hey, coming in with another cool interview from Intercom 2019.
It's the Intercom show in Orlando, Florida.
And this is the Kramer Electronics booth interview that we did with the CEO, Clint Hoffman, of Kramer Electronics US.
And let's get into it and check out some of the cool stuff they have going on there.
I'm here with Clint Hoffman. He's the Kramer Electronics US CEO and he's currently at Infocom
2019 and welcome to the show. Clint, how you doing? I'm doing great. Thanks for having me.
Thanks for coming to the show and you guys are at Infocom. You guys got a booth down there.
Give us your website and the booth
number so the people at Infocom can go
check it out.
Sure. The website is
www.primeraid.com
and we're at booth 2929
here at the Infocom show.
Awesome sauce. So
I guess it's quite the big show and
you guys are busy doing some stuff
there. What do you have going on at the booth? Well, one of the primary messages we have at the
booth is what we're terming Kramer platform. As we continue to develop more and more solutions
that can be combined, we are doing so. Mult-function capable product. Why buy a product that does A and a separate product that does B
if I can sell you a product A and also include B's functionality?
That's the direction we're moving.
Awesome, Sauce.
Now, you guys make a ton of products from your website that I've seen.
Give us a rundown of some of the different things that you're profiling there at the show.
So along with that platform thing in mind,
we're showing VIA, our Wireless Presentation and Collaboration Solutions.
Instead of just being wireless presentation and collaboration,
a VIA device now has digital signage built in.
So if you're in a classroom and you're teaching
and using that technology of wireless presentation, great.
When class is over, you can run digital signage on the device on the main screen.
You'll have the next event on campus and where it's going to be located.
Also, those devices can be encoders and decoders for AV over IP, so you can buy separate encoders and decoders.
You can have your signals be transmitted around the network and show up on the screen.
Multi-function capability, platform-based.
Oh, you can also have Kramer Control is also incorporated now in these devices,
so the VIA can be your control solution for the room instead of having to buy a separate CPU.
That's awesome.
Now, from my understanding, you guys have been around for a long time, right?
The VIA wireless presentation stuff has been around a long time.
Framework control is fairly new, but yeah.
So you guys are going to have the booth there.
People are going to come by.
What other sort of things are they going to find in your guys' display there?
Well, you're going to see our family of AV over IP solutions.
We recently took our training facility in our own building,
and it was, you know,
traditional matrix routers
with HD-based key signals.
And we decided to convert it
to an AV over IP solution.
We budgeted three days
with four guys
to make that changeover.
We made that changeover
in three hours.
That's how easy this stuff is.
Now we have an incredibly quiet, I've got a half a rack back
that is now available for other uses. AP over IP
is an amazing solution. We have an entire family. Whether you need low latency,
medium latency, or no latency, we have a solution for
every application from H.264 to JPEG 2000 to
SDBO.
You guys are going to be there from the 12th to the 14th with the booth there at the show?
Awesome.
Awesome.
And what are some of the, is there any like number one product you're pushing at the show or is it pretty much your whole family of products?
Well, of course, it's always the whole family of products but i think probably one of the more
unique messages we have this year is that we've made an agreement with sony and every sony bravia
monitor that's now sold will have paper control embedded in it so you can now use a sony bravia
monitor to buy in the future to control you don't need a separate CPU. You can just use the monitor, and it becomes the CPU
that allows you to control the entire room.
Oh, my gosh, that's mind-blowing.
The stuff I'm seeing at Infocom is just amazing.
I mean, I call it the mini-CES as it is.
But you guys make presentation systems, switchers and matrices,
extenders, distribution amplifiers, scalers, audio, AV over IP,
of course we talked about, wireless presentation, control management,
multi-viewers and video walls, those are always fun, accessories and AV tools,
cable connectors, room connectivity, KM, KVM, Sierra Video, software and solutions.
You guys make it all.
Holy crap.
Yeah.
Well, besides the displays and the sources, we make it all. Holy crap. Yeah, well, besides the displays
and the sources, we make all
the stuff in the middle. They call it the glue product.
The glue product.
I like that. You glue everything together
and make it all work.
It's going to be
an exciting show. You guys are going to have a ton of people
coming by the booth. We were
retweeting yesterday. You guys
building the booth, so we saw some cool
pictures and videos on Twitter and on your
social media of that. Hopefully we'll
see some really cool pictures of the booth
today. We'll be sharing that out as well
once we see some of that media.
Awesome, Sauce. Anything
more we need to know, Clint, about
your guys' booth and what you guys
are doing there at Infocom?
No, there's plenty I could say,
but I've just be,
you know,
uh,
you know,
we have a tremendous amount of stuff.
