Starting point is 00:01:14 of any kind. Today's featured author comes to us from books to lifemarketing.co.com. With expert publishing to strategic marketing, they help authors reach their audience and maximize their book's success. Today, we're an amazing young man on the show. We're talking about his book and insights. His book title is called Life's Little Pebbles by Anthony David, aka Anthony Canem for Life's Little Pebbles.
Starting point is 00:01:41 Did I say that right? That's correct. Thank you very much, sir. Anthony David is a born-again Christian who is fortunate to acquire a master's in managerial psychology in 2006, and a bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communications, and PR from the London Metropolitan University in 2013. He is currently based in the United Kingdom. His careful observation of various human behavioral patterns and personal experiences propelled him to write this book. His goal is to enrich the minds of people through the words and wisdom in his book.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Welcome to the show, Anthony. Sir, how are you? I'm very fine. Thank you. Thanks for having me, Chris. Thanks for coming. Give us your dot-coms. Where do you want people to get to know you better on the interwebs? At the moment, people can reach me via my email and just life sleet of pebbles. Gmail.com. So give us a 30,000 overview. What's inside this book, please? This book contains interesting words of wisdom, I would put it that way. And it's got some very life lessons that would help the people who purchase this book. I said help because they will serve as a guide. Because I can tell you, this book is for everyone.
Starting point is 00:03:02 And it's very, very rich in terms of evergreen words of wisdom. Hmm. Hmm. Now, are these your quotes and wisdom ideas, or do you cite other people's from history? No, these are my quotes from my wilderness experience, I would say. Oh, really? Was it an experience of wilderness in the life, or were you just got a cabin in the woods and you never come to, you don't like society? I'm just kidding.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Yeah, of course, the wilderness of life experience. The wilderness of mirrors, some people call life, or I think one person called it that. And why do you call them the little pebbles? Why do you use that analogy? Now, there are few words put together. And when you read them, it spreads. It's like a pebble dropped in an ocean or in an ocean, and then you can see the repeat. effect.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Oh, ripples. Yeah, the ripples. Yeah. So hence why I've titled this book, Life's Little Pebbles, because they're short words, but very impactful. Are they like haikus or how are they phrased? So they're just simply phrased four, five words put together. Oh.
Starting point is 00:04:25 For example, yep. For example, many people desire wealth, but ignore the fact that wealth bring great responsibility. It was great power. It comes great responsibility. Spider-Man. I don't know who said that. It probably wasn't him.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Anyway, that's very true. And so how long did it take for you to collect all these little nuances or axioms and put them into the book? Yeah, it took me a few years, I would say, about five years. And prior to that, like I said, I had some interesting life experiences that propelled me to, you know, put this book together. And I could share one of them. For example, I met a friend back in England somewhere and we were good friends and I helped him a bit when he was in difficulty. I wouldn't go into that. But later on, he said to me, Anthony,
Starting point is 00:05:22 I would want you to come over and spend some time to me. So he moved to up north of the United Kingdom. He said, come and come and spend some time with me, Anthony. And I said, okay, no problem. and I did, I went there and you wouldn't believe that I got to know some things about him that I didn't know before. So that made, yeah, that made me to put that down in this book who say, you have not found a true friend on less time ticks. So real friendship, for example, we shouldn't be in a hurry to think. that you found a good friend. Time will tell. That's exactly how I'll put it. I love that analogy. I use this variation that's called, I just treat people like a Polaroid. You ever see the old Polaroids, right? You take a picture and then it slowly fills in the details.
Starting point is 00:06:19 It looks like a blank slate after you take it. And then after time, it slowly fills in. And so I kind of learn to treat people like Polaroids. And just like you said, time will tell. people always told me on this and that I'm yada yada yada and you don't know what's truth or PR agent and so I just go okay I'll just kind of take whatever you said and figure okay we'll see and we'll just wait for the poll already to fill in but cool story bro that's about as much as much as I give especially during dating dating there's so much projection and and people putting out bullshit sometimes you'll be talking to something yeah my ex was the worst and they were the problem and yada yada yada they did this they did this and then after a while they start telling themselves you start realizing it was them
Starting point is 00:07:06 they just want to see how you react to the behavior they plan to show you in the future so yeah choosing good friends and keeping good friends and curating them is a bit of an art is i agree yeah we've all i think we've all been betrayed by people we thought would never betray us that we're friends right Yeah, that's correct. Yeah, I got a knife sticking out of my back permanently just from the last one. Turning the chair, you can see this big old handle coming out of my back. Anyway, it's between the blades, too. It's really painful.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Anyway, now, what are some other of your favorite axioms that are in your book or little quotes or things that you came up with? Yeah, they're very, all of them are very interesting quotes. Because of our time, I'll just pick on two more, because I think I already mentioned one. So the first one says you don't truly know anyone until you live with them. So yeah, and then remember you mentioned about dating, this and that. So when you have a fianc or a fianc or you're dating someone, trust me, until you leave with them, you can never know their real character. So, yeah, I'll just say don't trust easily.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I learned in a hard way, Chris. Yeah. And it happens in a lot with marriage. A lot of people, they stay good actors until they marry, and then once they're in a position to have power over you, I think the saying that we use in dating is, is you never know who you're dating, who you're really with until you give them the power over you. And in marriage, it's, if I'm dating you, it's really easy to get rid of you and dump you if I find out you're a POS, right? But if you move in with me, it's a little bit hard to get you out of the house. Sometimes we have to get restraining orders and removal orders, and it can be a real pain in the ass.
Starting point is 00:08:58 I learned that way with an alcoholic. And once she was a good woman, she just sadly had that disease, and that ruined everything. But she tried. But also, with marriage, it's even harder because they know they can drag you through hell and back. And I think the Brad Pitt divorce has been going on for 15 fucking years or something. So that's when you usually learn who you're dealing with. And by then it's usually too late because the trap has sprung. And it's going to be hell to get out of it and hell to deal with it.
Starting point is 00:09:30 So choose wisely. Does that one of your pebbles in some way, shape, or form? Yeah, yeah. It probably put in a different way. But yeah, absolutely. And you mentioned Pete and, yeah, Angelina Jolie, obviously, they were all over. They're still getting divorced. It's been 10 plus years.
Starting point is 00:09:49 I don't know how long is that. Oh, my. Oh, my. Did you want to share any other pebbles, or did you do both of them, the two you had? Do you mean, do I want to share one more? I could share one. Yeah, I couldn't remember. I know you said you had two, and I can't remember if we did two.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Yeah, that's fine. Yeah, yeah. I'm going to share one more. So the third one, which is on page three of this amazing book, it says, don't worry if it rains on your Washington. today, the sun will shine on it tomorrow. So this is an encouraging one here, meaning if you face challenges today, tomorrow might be better as nothing stays the same. Nothing stays the same way forever and the only constant thing in the world is change.
Starting point is 00:10:36 So yeah, and the title of this is hope. H-O-P-E. Hope. Don't worry if it rains on your washing today. The sun will shine on it tomorrow. The sun will shine. Now, when they refer to that phrase of washing, does that mean you have your clothes hung out there on a wire to dry and it rains on them and then don't worry, they'll dry out tomorrow? Yeah, yeah, that's a picture. Yeah, that's a picture. Yeah. That's a good reminder. What does that mean for you? It means a lot because, like I said, I've been through an amazing experience and coming from that difficult experience, I am. here now today, still standing. And absolutely it's been, of course, the grace of God. And
Starting point is 00:11:26 the words in this book have actually encouraged me. Because sometimes I just separate myself from that I pretend, oh, I just feel I'm not actually the author. So I learn from these words as well. You know what I mean? So, well, as you're learning from it. Some people don't learn crap. So, yes, coming from that difficult, challenging period in my lifetime. And here I am today, standing by the grace of God and, of course, by these encouraging words. Now you're on the Chris Faw show. Thank you. You're either moving up or down. I'm not sure which.
Starting point is 00:12:08 It's a privilege to be on your show. It's a privilege to have you, sir, too, because without you, I wouldn't have guests, and people have to listen to my stupid things they say. not the brilliance the rest of you folks bring to our show and uplift everyone in their minds so that they aren't, you know, totally brain damaged by whatever stupid story I have to say. Now, what was the, what was the aha moment that you had with this? We're like, I need to write this down. Was there, was an inspirational moment at all? Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:12:38 So the inspiration moment was obviously when I was at my lowest ebb. and I thought, okay, where do I go from here? And I thought there's a passage in the Bible. And I'm sorry, I know you might not be religious or listeners. Yeah, it says when we are weak, that's when the Lord Jesus Christ comes in to help us. So at that point in time, I knew this was divine intervention, you know, helping me, yes, helping me to come up with this book and with all the words of wisdom in them. I remember when I was in Western Africa, because I grew up there, I worked as a broadcaster at the federal level, and I had
Starting point is 00:13:28 a show on a Sunday, and I had to read the Bible to churchgoers. I had to play gospel songs and everything. But my favorite Bible passage or the book in the Bible was the proverbs. And this proverbs was written by King Solomon, and that's King David's son. I don't know if you know about
Starting point is 00:13:53 this. A little bit. You drew the name. Yeah. Yeah. And there are some words there that were just stunning. But I must be honest with you, I didn't really understand them. So getting into my wilderness, wilderness experience and then God helping me to put these words together. It now makes a lot of sense
Starting point is 00:14:16 that, oh, yes, because this man, this King Solomon was a great man. In fact, people traveled from far away to meet with him to seek wisdom and life, life lessons that would help them and guide them. I'm not saying I'm like him, but, you know, I just remember that see, I had this foundation. And for some reason, I was able to come into this space to write this book as well. So I think that that's a great inspiration for me. Oh, yeah. What a great story and inspirational as well.
Starting point is 00:14:56 And what age or target audience do you think the book is angled towards? Trust me, this book, Chris, is for everyone. Old, young, and all of sundries. There is a message for everyone in this book. However, I think that this book will be of immense benefit to teenagers who are just starting out. This book will equip them with a lot of knowledge for discernment and will serve as a guide in making the right choices. That's some wonderful stuff there. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:15:32 That's definitely some wonderful stuff. What is your best role model? Well, that's a good question, Chris. My best role model is Jesus Christ because of his love for me and salvation of my soul. And ultimately, he's the way, the truth and the life. That's what we found out in the Word of God in the Bible. So he is my best role model. It's good to have good role models in this world because they help you feel better unless your role models, I don't know, a serial killer.
Starting point is 00:16:10 I'm saying that, Trace, yeah, I have earthly role models as well. Oh, do you? Tell us about some of them are authors that you might respect. Yeah, so I respect Derek Prince of Derek Prince Ministries. I don't know if you've ever heard of him. He's late now, but of course, bless his soul, but his words are evergreen because he speaks the truth as well. I respect Daniel Olucoa. He has continued to inspire me because he stands by the truth in the world of God.
Starting point is 00:16:42 And finally, I admire Dr. Michael Yusuf of leading the Weir Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia. Have you heard of him at all? No. No, okay. Yeah. It's a great guy. Again, it speaks to truth. And at some point, I went on holiday to the U.S. in 2023.
Starting point is 00:17:02 And I went to Atlanta, Georgia to spend some time with my childhood friend and thought I could use that opportunity to visit and meet Dr. Michael Yusuf to give him a copy of my recent book, which is the book I told you about a Christian guide, excuse me, to choosing the right spouse. Oh, wow. But unfortunately, it was an holiday at that time. And I left the book, a copy of the book with his team. And upon his return, he sent me a letter to my home in the UK. Thanking me for the gift, so I think that was really nice of him. It's good to have these role models in real life and heroes and stuff. What's the message you have for listeners that, as they come away from your book, what they'll take away from it and find?
Starting point is 00:17:51 Yes, so the message that I have for them is to know that this is very, very, very, natural and very truthful words put together to form amazing quotes. So the message I have for them is definitely this book has touched my life, even as the author, and has helped me to understand the intricacies of life and has helped me to be cautious, to be cautious about life, about people, people and to be good as well, which is very important. I tell people, yeah, I tell people who are not religious because I have friends who are not religious. And when we get talking, I tell them, see, most important thing is for you to be good.
Starting point is 00:18:49 If you're good, trust me, you're Christ-like already. We're not knowing it. Yeah. Do you think you're writing your quotes in the book can serve as a guide for life lessons, even for future generations? Yes, Chris, they will save the next generation and beyond. Because they are evergreen, Chris. These words are evergreen. They are evergreen because they carry deep, truthful meanings.
Starting point is 00:19:17 The truth, Chris, the truth will always be evergreen and can never be defeated. No one can defeat the truth. No one. Yeah. That's why we like the truth and follow the truth. It's a real important thing there. Yeah, yeah. Now, you've got a couple other books, I think. Do we want to plug those? Yeah, if I may, yes. So, like I said, this is my most recent book, a Christian guide to choosing the right spouse.
Starting point is 00:19:47 Yes, this is another interesting book that tells you about, a bit about my experience and the experiences of people and how, again, to be caution. choosing the right person to become your spouse. Choosing your spouse rightly is pretty good stuff there. And so have you been able to get married? Are you still looking for that perfect one? Yeah, I would say I was, I was. But now I'm single. So if you know anyone that's going to be on the same journey,
Starting point is 00:20:29 on the same book with me, then you can kindly just introduce her to me then. Yeah, and it's got to be a little bit hard in today's world to find Christian women. There's a lot of weird stuff going on right now. Here in 2026, we've got O'Nu killed three of our own children by our own hand and own admittance, and somehow she may get free because a bunch of feminists want her to be free. I guess this is the new thing they want, the post-birth abortion. Have fun with that society.
Starting point is 00:20:56 unaccountability murder of children post birth is just the new thing. Yeah. And we're not going to put people and women in jail over it. We'll put men in jail. Yeah, let's just put it this way. The world is now an interesting place. Yeah, definitely is. Definitely is.
Starting point is 00:21:18 All right, as we round out the show, give people a final pitch out to pick up your book and to get to know you better and where on the internet so they can do that. Yes, so they can pick up my book, Life's Leiter Pebbles, on Amazon. So, yeah, they can do that. And if they have any questions, they can send an email to Life's Leiter Pebbles atchimel.com. And also, of course, this most recent book as well, a Christian guide to choosing the right spouse, there's a Kindle version, and they can buy that as well on Amazon.
Starting point is 00:21:56 with Amazon Kindle and there will be a hard copy going through very soon as well on Amazon. Yeah. Now any future works you're working on? Any additions to this book? Seems like you turn that into like a, you ever hear that chicken soup in the soul book guy? He turned that into a whole series. Yeah, there are lots of titles that I received from, I would say, the Holy Spirit. And yeah, there's one that will be coming up.
Starting point is 00:22:26 hopefully soon. And it's just about when you're in a marriage, when you've chosen the right person, you know, by God's grace, then the word of God that would guide you into staying married. And the word of God that would actually encourage you when the hard times come. Because trust me, Chris, there's always hard times in marriage, off and downs, this and that. And then you get divorced. Oh, ho! Jokes!
Starting point is 00:22:57 Jokes! Jokes! But, yeah, but funny enough, Chris, I was just going to say, I met an English older lady, and she was like, oh, wow, it's our 65th marriage anniversary or wedding anniversary. I can't remember how she put it. Yeah. And I'm like, oh, how did you do it? I asked her, any hints, anything I can learn from.
Starting point is 00:23:20 And she said, it's give and take, really. It's just give and take, really. and just treats the other person like you would want to be treated. What? What kind of concept is this? The Golden Rule? What are you talking about? When does this start?
Starting point is 00:23:35 So I don't know. Other people like you want to be treated. What a concept. But yeah, but I think give and take, that resonated with me in a way. Some people are selfish and they just want everything to take. Exactly. So, yeah. But anyway.
Starting point is 00:23:51 From New America, it's a lot of fun to date over here. We have people that leave the country to find their spouses. It's so bad. And there's, and there's, looks like Google's going to jump in here a little bit. Shut up Google. But yeah, and there's no men coming to America to date American women. So that kind of tells you everything you need to know. Jokes, looks all right.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Me, but it's true. Anyway, so thank you very much for coming to the show. We really appreciate Anthony. And I hope you continue doing what you're doing and lifting up life. Maybe you can do a thing where if people want. want, how to get revenge on people with little pebbles. Seth throwing a giant rock that kills them or something. You can just throw a little tiny river pebbles that they'll never know if they,
Starting point is 00:24:33 you were thrown on and I get you in trouble for assault. I don't know. Yeah. This is why you have the ideas and I don't. Without you, I can't, you know, I can't tell the world about the book. So you, I can't always get an idiot with a podcast. There I am. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:49 All right. You'll be able to say final message. Please. If that's fine. I'd like to thank God. I'd like to thank my parents, Stephen O'Larouadju. Bless his soul. That's my father, I then, Tristanna, Bolaji, my wonderful mom. They're kind-hearted parents, to be honest. And my siblings, Stephen, my older brother, and my older sister, Nathaniel, my younger brother, bless his soul again.
Starting point is 00:25:13 And of course, my loved ones in general, I'd like to thank Alex Everson, plus the entire Book of Life team, Michelle, for helping me. for helping to make this happen really. Alex Everson would not let me be. She'd say, Anthony, the world needs to hear about your book. And trust me, she was very motivating. So thanks to Alex. To be honest, my sincere thanks will go to yourself, Chris, because again, it's a privilege to be on this show.
Starting point is 00:25:49 And my very final message to the lovely listeners out there. Thanks for listening. Continue to do good. Watch and pray. Good uplifting message for folks out there. Thank you very much. We certainly appreciate Anthony. You're welcome. Thank you very much. Thank you. And thanks for us for tuning in. Order up Anthony's book where refined books are sold. Life's Little Pebbles, quotable quotes. Uplifting stuff, the good things you need these days in 2026 to keep your head screwed on straight. So I definitely recommend it. Go to Goodreads.com for just Chris. LinkedIn.com, Fortress, Chris Foss.
Starting point is 00:26:25 Besides, everything's going so well right now. And all those crazy places in it, we're on a rant. Be good to each other, folks. Stay safe. We'll see you next time. You've been listening to the most amazing, intelligent podcast ever made to improve your brain and your life. Warning.
