Hi folks, Chris Fonis here from thegrisfonis.com. The Gris Fonis Show, we're here at the Maca booth and they're in
Garica Park, 61246. We're going to talk to somebody about their amazing product. Tell us who you are and give us your name please.
Hi, good morning. My name is Thierry de Boisbillier. I'm the president and co-founder of Maca, which is a French company created one year ago.
There you go. And what's your URL, your website?
URL is www.maccafly.com.
There you go. And this thing's pretty amazing. I watched the video on it. What is it?
Well, we are currently developing a concept of a flying car in the racing environment.
It's a racing flying car.
It's a project which was born in Airbus company because I'm a former engineer from Airbus.
And we spent three years developing this concept.
And now we are an independent company pushing for this new kind of show, a new entertainment, a new race in the air.
So how soon can people order these? These are amazing.
Sorry?
How soon can people order these? Are they orderable yet or how soon can they order them?
Oh, at the beginning it's for racing just like Formula One. So we won't sell the product at that time. We are developing a prototype to make the first events and to create new kind of
Formula One team in there.
Awesome, so this is pretty cool. What are some other aspects you guys are showing off here at CES?
So here at CES we intend to increase our visibility because this is very important.
We have in the world two, three kind of products like that for racing. So we have to increase our
visibility and to find investors because here is the best location to meet people and to find investors and we need money for the second step we we will make
the first flight of a demonstrator this year and for the next step for certification of the the
aircraft for the pilot on board and hydrogen on board we need a lot of money and we have to to
fundraise that's awesome so you got a model here of it.
Yeah, exactly.
We can take a look at.
This thing is really amazing.
And I watched the videos on it.
It's pretty cool.
How long have you been working on this?
We started in 2018.
We flew a third scale model in 2019 to validate the architecture of the aircraft.
This aircraft, this flying car is seven meters long,
600 kilograms with a pilot on board
and 250 kilometers per hour.
Wow, that's awesome.
And it'll go up to 150 miles per hour?
Exactly, 150 miles per hour.
And driven by hydrogen.
This is very important because with batteries, this kind of aircraft,
the flying cars, we have few minutes of endurance, five minutes no more. So it's very important
to remove the batteries and to put a fuel cell and hydrogen tank in order to increase
the endurance of the flying car.
That's awesome.
So how soon will people see this on the market or out doing stuff?
Okay.
We make it by step.
The first step is end of this year, we make the first flight of a demonstrator.
Then we develop the pilot and the hydrogen for certification.
And we intend to make the first event
and the first race by 2024.
So very interesting because we develop quickly
the technology in the race environment,
which is much less difficult in terms of regulation.
This would be awesome.
So give us your website one more time
so people can find you on the interweb.
Sorry? If you could give me your website one more time so people can find you on the internet sorry if you give me your website one more time your website okay website is www.makaflight.com there you go well thank you
